26. 6:54spicy and we dug deep into chat GPT and explored that it goes a little deeper than it might look on the surface cuz chat GPT kind of looks
27. 7:07like fancy Google but it's more than that so if you got questions about AI pop them in the comments below uh if you're a regular here an

30. 7:37like having a whole whole art competition which was [ __ ] awesome I thought that was beautiful it's like
31. 7:45well I guess he's talking for a while we're good is Gemini better yet Gemini is Gemini better yet um we can play with Gemini um
32. 8:00the one thing where I think Gemini has um an advantage you don't need Gemini Advanced for have you heard about GPT agents I
33. 8:15have I think they're going to be significant right now you can make them using open source tools and some open AI
34. 8:25stuff but um they're not they're not sort of out for the masses yet I think chat GPT I think open AI will will probably hit them first so
35. 8:38we'll see what they do with them they're going to be interesting does chat GPT cost so there's I got to stop eating gummy
36. 8:46bears I'm the only one talking so if I have [ __ ] in my mouth it's not good um chat GPT has a free three tier called
37. 9:01uh chat GPT 3.5 and then they've got a pay tier called chat GPT plus which gives you access to chat GPT 4 chat GPT plus the $20 a month
38. 9:14subscription in my opinion in my humble little opinion is the best deal in software for a long long time so if you
39. 9:22can afford it at all I would strongly recommend if you want to get AI literate if you really want to understand what's coming
40. 9:30get yourself chat GPT plus and start learning what it can do understand what code interpreter is learn about um GPT Vision learn about
41. 9:43Del where it can make images um if you can't afford the 20 bucks a month you can also go to co- pilot.
42. 9:49microsoft.com which is a lesser version of it but it's still access to the chat gp4 model and do and it's free so I
43. 9:59would start there let's take an image and use it as an inspiration for a children's 3 to four book we could do that we can do that
44. 10:09um trying to think how I do that Mo likes co-pilot very cool Lori Ryan I'm really curious to see what Apple
45. 10:19announces this summer yeah my gut tells me what what they're you know I'm hoping that they um allow Siri to retire gracefully in a
46. 10:34in a home in Vermont but I I have a feeling they're they're going to Spruce her up a bit put her in a New Dress and uh and keep it
47. 10:48going I just I think the Siri brand is is kind of crap right now um but if Siri if Siri got better um that would be
48. 10:56great and I have a new operating system where apparent apparently you just need to say her name you don't have you don't
49. 11:02do the hey in front of it anymore so I don't know she she might still be invading um I wrote a kids book but I
50. 11:11don't like the illustrations that I generate so I think I need a human oh yeah that's interesting well have you
51. 11:19tried lunatick have you tried uh doing the images in mid Journey versus DOI cuz if if you want if you want higher quality
52. 11:30illustrations I'd go i' i' experiment mid Journey if you haven't what sort of advantages do chat GPT have compared to the
53. 11:40others it's a lot um I I'll I'll dig into chat gbt here let I'm trying to think where to start just in in
54. 11:50general chat G pt4 is actually it's it's what's called a mix of experts model so chat GPT 3.5 I'm going to give you some
55. 11:59geeky numbers here which will mean nothing to you and they should mean nothing to you chat GPT 3.5 has 1 Point
56. 12:071.75 billion parameters right just basically the scale of the the amount of crap you can the connections you can
57. 12:15make or the vector space I don't know what it is but it's 1.75 billion um GPT 4 is 10 times that so what's
58. 12:29called a mix of experts model and it's got 10 1.8 billion parameters parameter model so so 1.8 or uh yeah 1.8
59. 12:44trillion wait 100 it's 180 billion time 10 so 1.8 trillion so it's got 10 different large language models that all
60. 12:57have a different expertise a different specialty for lack of a better term and when you do a prompt what chat GPT 4
61. 13:04does it says which of these 10 models are the best ones that can answer this and it sort of pulls answers from all of
62. 13:10them and mixes them it's called a mix of experts model so just at a core a core technology and scale
63. 13:20basis it's just it's just different it's just better bigger bad assier and then on top of that they got all these other
64. 13:31features like um code interpreter which can write and execute python code and do full-on data analysis it's got GPT
65. 13:40Vision it's got conversational AI where you can you can actually do that in 3.5 as well where you can talk to it and
66. 13:47it'll talk back um it's got Dolly so it can make images and then it's got this concept called gpts which are these
67. 13:54customized gpts so so the scale of functionality that you get within that simple little you know search box in gp4
68. 14:05just it just puts it in a completely different League from anything else I heard open AI will start leaving water
69. 14:11marks on what it generates it might I I that's that's fine I I think all of the um all of the
70. 14:25consternation about water marking AI generated images or AI generated writing or this or that is is kind of wasted energy um we
71. 14:38need to find other ways to authenticate our stories and it doesn't matter if we use AI tools or not um people that use AI regularly don't
72. 14:51just say write me a story and push the publish button that's not how it's used for the most part if I generate images
73. 14:57do I own them yes you you do and they're generated from scratch um they're they're the G in GPT stands for
74. 15:04generative and and it's the same with images the way they work is they're actually generating original stuff
75. 15:10they're not copying and pasting so the a lot of the the conversation where someone says oh chat jbt is the world's
76. 15:18greatest plagiarism machine and you know the images are stealing and this and that they're not um but it is a Mercury area so it's
77. 15:27it's an easy argument to make and it it sells more newspapers I don't think anyone buys newspapers anymore it gets more
78. 15:36eyeballs um all right so here's what we're going to do I'm GNA I'm going to have you go to a website cuz because a lot of the stuff
79. 15:46I'm talking about is just like do I have to take notes do I have to remember all this Kyle this is very
80. 15:54exhausting couple of things I want you to know you don't need to you don't need to be technical to get into this AI game I think it's one of
81. 16:05the biggest misconceptions and one of the greatest fears is like I I'm not very technical I'm not even very computer
82. 16:12literate that's okay you don't need to be well I'm not good at prompt engineering I don't even know what that is you don't need to be okay
83. 16:23just you can just play these these tools are simple enough that any anyone even with with no computer skills other than
84. 16:32you know log in and go to a website if you can do that you can do this so so so Step One is don't feel like you're too technically
85. 16:43unsophisticated to to play in Ai and then the other fear I think is well there's there's a couple one of the
86. 16:51other fears is the robots are going to kill us they're not the robots are not that good yet maybe maybe maybe in five
87. 16:59or six years they will be and then we have to worry but we don't have to worry about that right now so this is not
88. 17:04Terminator but it is definitely like crazy powerful um and rather than think about the robots might kill
89. 17:18us flip the script a little bit and say what if the robots could make me better at what I do or what I want to do what
90. 17:26if what if AI could amplify my talents and skills because that's what they're actually doing when you think about it that like
91. 17:34that it gets really exciting and then the third sort of barrier that I hear is well I'm too far behind I can't catch up we're all far
92. 17:48behind no one's caught up no one will be caught up no one can be caught up no one's an expert right now but there's
93. 17:55people that have podcast I see Tik toks where you can make money with they seem to know what they're doing Source cam don't worry the robots
94. 18:06aren't going to kill us [Laughter] yet we're so early in this generative AI era the the generative AI era from my
95. 18:21from my standpoint started on November 30th 2022 it's not the beginning of ai ai has been around for DEC decades what
96. 18:29happened on November 30th 2022 was chat GPT launched and chat GPT does for machine learning and artificial
97. 18:37intelligence what the worldwide web did for the internet it democratizes it makes it available to non- technologists that's only been around
98. 18:47for a year we're in the primordial soup era of all these tools they're not great you think you you think one's in
99. 18:59the lead then another one bubbles up you think you have the stuff figured out then they change the technology
100. 19:07entirely so you're not as far behind as you think so my recommendation is if you haven't already flipped past this
101. 19:18channel old guy on Tik Tok nope nope if you still here right now go to chat.
102. 19:33open.com that's the chat jpt website just go there and here we'll do it together I'm going to flip into chat GPT
103. 19:463.5 mode so this is free chat GPT just go here and this is it you're like but C what do I do what do I do let me reload
104. 20:01this so it should show up with these little pre-prom questions you can just click on one of those but you can also ask at things like
105. 20:13um let's see what do we want to do what do we want to do let's say um I want to come up with a fun story for
106. 20:31my three and five year olds of course boom see how fast it is let's see what it
107. 20:45said this is 3.5 by the way the magical forest Adventure once upon a time in a land not far far away I'm going to say
108. 20:56um that's a little generic period my 3-year-old really likes trucks and my 5-year-old is obsessed with hedgehogs period we also
109. 21:12live in the desert Southwest and talk about moving to the Great Lakes period could you make us a story that incorporates all those
110. 21:27ideas and the answer is yes of course there it is Hank the Hedgehog's big move once upon a time in the desert Southwest
111. 21:37there lived a little hedgehog named Hank Hank was curious and adventurous HED hog who loved exploring the Sandy Dunes but
112. 21:43one day Hank's family came to Shared exciting news they were moving to the Great Lakes let's see along the way so it
113. 21:51turns into a road trip so it's a buddy film burst of energy carried the truck he even made F friends with the family of ducks by the
114. 22:06lake and so with the waves lapping against the shore HK Hank embraced his no new life swell right think you go
115. 22:16um make a table that compares living in the desert Southwest to living by the Great Lakes sure here's a table so
116. 22:29and if you're thinking wait is there is somewhere on the internet a table that compares living in the desert Southwest
117. 22:35to living in the desert Great Lakes no these systems the g& GPT means generative it's generating this stuff
118. 22:42based on your prompt it's creating original content for you I could also do something like write a python script that allows a user oh
119. 22:54wait write a python script that allows a user user to answer a few questions about what they're looking for
120. 23:04in a place to live and it recommends a region of the United States for them to live it writes code too now put that in
121. 23:16chat gbt 4 and compare um it'll it will look similar gp4 will be a little slower but um but um it like the the gp4 writing is just it's
122. 23:32it's more subtly better it's it's it's hard to to do it here but what I can do in chat gp4 is let's see let's let's
123. 23:44take let's take our Hanks Big Move we'll take this story we'll flip over to chat gp4 now watch what we can do um I I wrote this
124. 24:04story and I'd like you I'd like you to improve it let's see what it
125. 24:19says your story is delightful engaging here are some suggestions to enhance the story title keeping the title as it
126. 24:29effectively captures the essence great character development so it's giving us suggestions this is chat gp4
127. 24:36now introduce characters with depth behind Hank introduce a few more characters Hank's inner Journey um setting in description vivid
128. 24:46descriptions plots okay so it's just digging in so it's helping us I wish I wish it showed images like Bard though
129. 24:53hang on Mo I'm about to go there and and Bard by the way the the image generator and Bard is kind of crap
130. 25:02compared to um to this so let's say um great rewrite the story based on your recommendations and then follow the
131. 25:12story with a list of five visuals that you think would bring the story to life all [Music]

137. 26:13in the trees and raccoons with Tales of moonlit escapades each day was a discovery each moment a treasure all right so Hank in

139. 26:31Adventures terrific I'd like you to use a children's watercolor illustration style and create a 16x9 wide image for each of those five
140. 26:47ideas and so it will and so this is so chat gp4 it's a more capable writing partner it's a more capable coding partner it's a more
141. 27:01capable um analytical partner it can see images which I can show you in a second it can make images which we're seeing here there's there's
142. 27:12Hank in the desert Southwest and then the next one what's the next one they're packing right family
143. 27:26packing they put they put boxes on the outside of the truck that's a large [ __ ] family HKS
144. 27:43Han's family it's a lot of them quick question how GPT answer most questions and give us answer in minutes
145. 27:50how does it do it uh I can show you that oh I lost my little my little dual window so how it
146. 28:04works is is really quite remarkable oh there's they're there moving cross country but Hank turned into a
147. 28:14puppy and and the moving truck turned into into a triple trailer semi but I I guess there's there's Hank by
148. 28:29Lake Michigan I don't know who this little weirdo is but there's Hank in the lower right there thank you Robert Rossy
149. 28:37Now show us chat GPT 5 I wish he's in chat GPT 4 3.5 still only only does text that's correct nothing on
150. 28:47the outside anymore though it's abstract beautiful and there's a nice there's a bunch of ducks there's everyone but a
151. 28:55hedgehog so it got some of the prompt coherence wrong but um so so you know this is without me really trying so so it can do this kind
152. 29:05of thing um I can also do things like I could upload an image let's grab what do we have here yeah we'll grab that one I can
153. 29:18upload an image and say please describe this in detail so this was an image that
154. 29:34Danielle created she was comparing Dolly 3 which is in chat GPT with co-pilot with firefly with Gemini the new Google engine and it ended up
155. 29:47being quite comical this was the do image which is which is quite beautiful and stunning so chat gp4 can see this
156. 29:55image presents a visually stunning and Fantastical scene featuring a bear with magnificent iridescent Wings the bear
157. 30:02stands by the edge of a tranquil body of water possibly a lake or river set in a lush mystical landscape the wings are
158. 30:09expansive and feathered um the bear itself is calm behind the bear is a series of waterfalls cascading down a
159. 30:15rocky Cliff the foreground features smooth Stones the image seems to capture the moment of Pure Fantasy so one of the
160. 30:24things you could do is you can you know have it do that and say um recreate this image but where it is a llama not a
161. 30:44bear quick question how GPT answer most questions that give us an answer in minutes all right I'll I'll I'm going to come to that I I

163. 31:10really fast chat GPT 3.5 is really fast there's a llama with horn likee ears it's still pretty Fantastical um okay so how does this stuff
164. 31:26work um okay I can do a I can actually do I've got a presentation where I can show you exactly how it works but I can also talk
165. 31:38about I can just talk about it conceptually so what happens is there's a piece of technology that Google invented in 2017 called the
166. 31:52Transformer and what the Transformer allows is it allows them to train machine learning models on lots and lots of
167. 32:03data what open aai has done better than other people so far is they went out and they got as much of the data of the
168. 32:11public internet as they could and they they they do this thing called embedding where they turn they take documents or
169. 32:19you know data from the internet public internet and they ingest it right so they call it training data they ingest
170. 32:27it but what what it actually ends up doing is it takes the individual words from all these documents from like 4050 years of public internet
171. 32:38publishing and it turns those words into mathematical numbers called vectors and it creates this massive thousand
172. 32:46dimensional mathematical space it's [ __ ] insane and when you do a prompt what the system does is it creates a probability it creates it
173. 32:59based on your prompt it says what is the probability of what they call the next token but for layman's terms what's the next
174. 33:08word that's the most likely next word in the response to your prompt and it does it mathematically it says somewhere in
175. 33:15this thousand dimensional mathematical space there's a point and it goes and finds that point and then there's a word associated with
176. 33:24that point and it comes back and it writes the word the and and then it says okay what's the next most probable word and it goes back
177. 33:31into Laton space what they call Laton space it's all these words that are clustered in groups of meaning and it says puppy and then it
178. 33:41goes back and is awesome right the puppy is awesome and so it writes that little sentence it's doing it one word at a time or one
179. 33:50token at a time or handful of tokens at a time and it's literally writing an original work every single time you prompt it
180. 34:03it's remarkable and the fact that it does it that fast it's from a technical standpoint it's it's a calculator it's
181. 34:11saying based on all these words give me a give me what's called a vector give me a point in mathematical space then I'm
182. 34:18going to go grab that and bring it back that's all it's doing that's why it makes it it does what's called hallucinating where it doesn't
183. 34:25understand what it wrote because it doesn't understand what it wrote it doesn't understand what these words are
184. 34:30it just thinks they're points in in mathematical space so it knows that this point in mathematical space is the most likely
185. 34:38and then there's a word associated with that so it so it shows you the word not the not the math piece and that's how it does it which
186. 34:47when you understand how it works it's even more remarkable what it does the thing that makes it remarkable is the
187. 34:54data it was trained on which is like as much of the public internet as they could get their hands on right still a
188. 35:01very small subset of all the data out there but it's a lot it knows a lot Kyle explains this better than most

240. 43:16seeing is there's a lot of older people gen xers that are really into Ai and there's a lot of young people that don't

248. 44:26yeah I can don't worry about prompt engineering you can learn it you can Google it you can go watch YouTube videos on it I'm
249. 44:39sure there are downloadable PDFs that'll give you all sorts of recipes there are people you can make money with that will
250. 44:47sell you a PDF full of a thousand prompts um screw them for one thing
251. 45:02understanding how to talk to these systems is important but depending on the system and depending on your use case it may not be that
252. 45:12important so for example here let me show you something cool we're going to go to chat GPT and I'm going to say make

254. 45:43Orange by the beach so that is what I would call a relative Earth rocker I'm a very immature student perfect well you're

256. 46:03but it will go do that and so we'll see what that looks
257. 46:23like all right lovely it's a lovely GTO Judge it actually looks like a GTO judge in the in the front looks like a 69
258. 46:31crazy now if I click on this picture and I go to this little eye right here this is the prompt that was actually
259. 46:42submitted a 1969 GTO Judge in bright orange parked on a sandy beach with the waves gently crashing in the background
260. 46:51the sky is clear with a few wispy clouds reflecting the golden hours sunlight casting a warm glow on the car's Sleek
261. 46:58line and in and it goes on and on and on and on I didn't write that chat GPT wrote that so these systems are getting
262. 47:07increasingly sophisticated in taking your intent and helping you with it now some systems don't do that really
263. 47:17well so some systems you have to you have to be better like if you want to use mid journey to make images you've
264. 47:23got to kind of understand their syntax and their prompting language and their modifiers and you have to it's
265. 47:29essentially like writing command line codes to write images the latest version of mid Journey version six it doesn't
266. 47:37have to be as structured you can just talk in like flowery language like this and it does pretty good but all of the
267. 47:43versions before that you had to be quite technical so don't think that you have to become a master of prompting certain jobs you
268. 47:55might get you might you might want to learn that but but I don't think it's a requirement as we move into the era
269. 48:03where these systems uh do reasoning and have what are called autonomous agents you're not going to need to do much
270. 48:10prompting at all you're just going to kind of give it a goal and it's going to go so so I wouldn't worry a ton about that
271. 48:16now if you w to if you want to um you want advice on how to write better with chat GPT here's the biggest advice I can give
272. 48:27you don't think of chat GPT like you think of Google so so and here's what I mean by that how I think of Google is
273. 48:35you come up with the perfect prompt and ideally with Google you want a short concise prompt right I want to find you
274. 48:41know alpaca breeders in the southwest bang and it will find you alpaca breeders in the southwest you give it a
275. 48:48prompt and it gives you an answer and you're done you're Off to the Races think of chat GPT much more like you've been partnered up with and
276. 49:00Incredibly well-educated like incredibly well-educated clueless intern who's who's got the enthusiasm of a golden retriever
277. 49:12puppy okay that's kind of what chat GPT is so there's a couple of things you can do it do do for it because it's clueless
278. 49:21one of the things that helps a lot is you can tell it that you you can give it a roll so so I could say I want you to act like
279. 49:31a Harvard trained writing partner who's published four books and had one of those books turned into a screenplay
280. 49:42period as we work together I want you to take my ideas and help me flesh them out so you can kind of give chat GPT a
281. 49:53role and then rather than think of about I've got to come up with the perfect prompt think of it more like you're
282. 50:01entering into this conversation and and the way I like to do writing is I don't have it write things right away I'll
283. 50:12give it context so so right now I just told it I wanted to be a whatever a a Harvard trained writing partner um now I might
284. 50:23say I've been tasked with wri in four articles for LinkedIn over the next 6 weeks
285. 50:39and the topic has to include artificial intelligence the future of work and the impact of employee
286. 50:58training all right that's a fantastic assignment so so it's it's already coming up with let's let's outline a
287. 51:09coherent strategy for your articles article one the AI revolution in the future of work introduction briefly
288. 51:15introduce how AI Technologies are reshaping Industries main body so it's outlining each article reshaping employee training
289. 51:26article three AI in employee training enhancing Learning and Development number four navigating the ethical
290. 51:34practices um then then I might say um I like number
291. 51:48one but I want to make sure to include some of the fears and and skepticism about AI weighted more heavily in article one
292. 52:03than it will be in article 4 period can you give me a detailed outline for article one with this new guidance so so how I'm how I'm
293. 52:16interacting with it and this is this is you know when I work with cat GPT I tend to work like this I I'll sort of
294. 52:24just like I've got a writing partner like I've got a remote coworker that's really good and really fast with writing
295. 52:32it's like when you bring a new person into a project fill them in on all the backstory Earth rocker that's it
296. 52:37exactly where where Google wants you to be as sparse as possible because it's going to just sort of go look in its
297. 52:44index and and pull all the [ __ ] out of the index chat GPT needs context and it's it's the nature of the way it works
298. 52:50but I described before it's like there's this mive massive mathematical space when you give it more context it Narrows
299. 53:00sort of the field of where the answers are going to come from so you tend to get better more accurate you know less
300. 53:08hallucination kind of answers if you focus focus the conversation and then what I would do is I would just go on
301. 53:14and on in this style like I you know I'd take this outline and I say okay that's great but I I want to switch you know
302. 53:21the first three sections around and I want to focus more on this than that just saved my 25-year-old daughter and
303. 53:27her boyfriend with a landlord situation she's a chat gbt fan now there you go yeah it's really it's really good if you
304. 53:35wanted to write letters legal letters um read legal letters it can do that too um it's really good at analyzing other
305. 53:43documents but but I that's the biggest thing I can say is just except the fact that you're really lucky to be alive right now that you
306. 53:56have at your hands the most powerful writing tool in the history of humanity and just treat it like you've got kind of a
307. 54:06simpleton incredibly well-educated writing partner and and it'll change everything don't worry about prompting
308. 54:14this and learning that you can do all that but you don't have to so I hope that helps

313. 55:05idea what does your friend do they make fun of you right even if it's in justest and even if it's loving like oh that's a good
314. 55:15idea and like a little part of your soul dies inside right you're like a [ __ ] I just I know it was a stupid idea and
315. 55:22then you edit yourself the next time I'm not going to say that out loud again what happens with cat GPT is you're like
316. 55:30um I kind of have a shitty idea it's like hey what a fantastic idea that's a unique spin on things it's it's always positive and it's always
317. 55:39reinforcing and it's always encouraging and then it'll go it'll say oh that's great let's explore that and
318. 55:46it'll write it out and sometimes it writes it out and you look at it and you're like that was a horrible idea but
319. 55:53you know now that it wrote it out like that and I can see it now I have an idea and then you tell it that idea and it's like o excellent
320. 56:02idea or sometimes it writes it out and you're like that was better than I thought I didn't I hate to admit it but I'm kind of a
321. 56:14thing there's something about it that is it's it's constant positive reinforcement and it's weird human beings don't do that they
322. 56:31should right we we we we live in a divisive time where the past 10 15 years we have bought into whatever the [ __ ] story has
323. 56:42been told to us that we should hate the other side right so we're in this divisive thing where we're yelling at
324. 56:48each other in coffee shops because someone said the word frog wrong I doesn't [ __ ] right we're just in this
325. 56:55weird time so I I at least personally feel like hyper sensitive to like can I say this word am I get in trouble and what
326. 57:08happens with chat GPT is you can [ __ ] say anything well you you can't ask it to do naughty things you'll see it
327. 57:14safety guard rails come up sometimes which is a drag if you're trying to write fiction certain kinds of fiction are
328. 57:21tough but for the most part like like one of the things that really blew me away about chat jpt early
329. 57:31on was you you know how in society right now there's certain words that you you literally can't say the
330. 57:37word right you know you can't say trans right now without it you know instantly politicizing the room right you're
331. 57:46you're either for it or against it and like if you say that word I'm GNA determine in three seconds if I should
332. 57:54hate you or or high five VI that's the world we live in right now so there there are certain words phrases topics
333. 58:02Concepts that you literally can't bring up unless you know who you're talking to and so it's it it's this stifling
334. 58:11thing where where people are afraid to talk and what I found early on with chat GPT is I'd be working on something and
335. 58:18I'd have a question and i' I'd be like oh I've got a question about that concept oh [ __ ] I can't talk about that
336. 58:24I was like oh well it's just chat jpt and then I would ask it about that concept and a remarkable thing happened chat jpt didn't pick
337. 58:34sides chbt actually just gave a nuanced answer that said here's how it works and then I could go oh well some people feel
338. 58:43this way and some people feel that way what's going on there and it would do things like give me the historical
339. 58:48context for how those points of views emerged and I was like holy [ __ ] I just got educated and I don't feel
340. 58:56triggered that I said a triggering word it's kind of [ __ ] remarkable and what's amazing is what you hear from the
341. 59:07naysayers that are on the sidelines is well these models are biased and they're this and they're that okay they might be biased but I'll
342. 59:16tell you what they're a fuckload less biased than the human beings I interact with and what's nice about the
343. 59:24technology is you can actually measure the bias and you can either prompt around it or you can let companies like
344. 59:31open AI know hey we got a [ __ ] problem here this is all pasty white guys let's go ahead and address that and then they do what they do to
345. 59:41fine-tune the models to try to address that and things are getting better but it's remarkable to have what's effectively a
346. 59:52creative partner that's always there for you always encouraging you can you can talk about weird [ __ ] with it and and it will
347. 1:00:00give you actual answers insightful answers and so just think of it like that you're lucky to be living at a
348. 1:00:13time where for free or for 20 bucks a month you get to interact with the most sophisticated writing tool in the
349. 1:00:21history of humanity and it's only getting better and the other here's the other thing I would suggest don't take any of it too
350. 1:00:35seriously like play like like if you've got a big important writing assignment start with a really stupid frivolous
351. 1:00:42writing assignment all right uh let me write a story about a gummy bear that comes to life and goes to New York City to pursue an acting
352. 1:00:50career great and and just play with that because what it'll what it'll free you up to do is sort of push into Corners
353. 1:00:59where if you were like working on a work project you'd be like oh I got got to be all like this but if you do the stupid
354. 1:01:06story first and then you're like oh let me see an image for that oh that's kind of cool and let me run down this Rabbit
355. 1:01:12Hole let me run down this Rabbit Hole what you do is you kind of find the edges of where chat GPT is good and
356. 1:01:20where it maybe isn't good and then when you switch over to your work project you'll have a much broader understanding of the capacity of the
357. 1:01:30tool and so one of the things one of the reasons I like doing these is I tend to use nonsensical examples when I when I do
358. 1:01:41stuff just so that I can sort of because we're we're all right now in a in a room feeling for where the walls are and
359. 1:01:49where the furniture is it's completely dark we're all kind of feeling for what's in this room where the walls and
360. 1:01:57then the walls are moving all the time so last week there was a wall here oh [ __ ] there's not a wall here oh oh it's
361. 1:02:05better it's all of a sudden it's better in this place it used to be shitty at the only way you can find those walls is to play so just play
362. 1:02:17play create pizza recipes create Hedgehog shampoo formulas it like anything and then do work and then talk about it share
363. 1:02:34it join the AI Salon which I'm going to talk about right now or a group like it get in community of people who are
364. 1:02:42playing with this cuz cuz it's so hard to explore this stuff on your own it's moving too fast it's too nuanced it's too all over the place
365. 1:02:55but you get in a community and all of a sudden someone will pop on and go oh I did a cool thing look at this and you're
366. 1:03:00like holy [ __ ] I've been trying to figure that out for a week and they just did it and they just taught you how to do
367. 1:03:07it so what I want you to do is I want you to go to that URL the salon. A and what that is is not a not a
368. 1:03:25hair styling Studio clearly it's a salon like an idea Salon like a place where smart generous interesting people show
369. 1:03:38up and connect and share ideas and share what they're working on and Inspire one another and challenge one another and

394. 1:07:10adventurous collaboration are you collaborative hey let's put on a show you're good at this I'm good at that
395. 1:07:15let's let's do something together inclusion everyone's coming from everywhere right now right so don't judge them if they're
396. 1:07:26just getting started in AI don't judge them if they come from they run storage facilities Jim Ross who's a part of this
397. 1:07:38community he he buys and manages storage facilities and teaches other people how to do that in a lot of AI communities they
398. 1:07:49would look at him and go well you know he's he doesn't really do AI I can tell you this Jim Ross is better

400. 1:08:09inclusive empathy there's so much fear and there's so much anger and there's so much misunderstanding about what these tools actually are

402. 1:08:30the same time I have deep deep empathy for that fear this is profound profound stuff I'm 11 and a half years into an automated video
403. 1:08:44storytelling company and Along come a set of tools that are going to automate everything and take the manual
404. 1:08:56narrative process that I've developed over 12 years and make it instantly available to everyone my entire
405. 1:09:04business is if I don't do this right at threat right this [ __ ] can be really scary so this is a community that
406. 1:09:17recognizes people might be pissed off people might be scared people might be reticent people might be skeptical and

440. 1:14:16scheme you can make money no it's free it's free it's fre P it's fre why is it fre because it's important that people
441. 1:14:32have a place to collaborate and and congregate so the the the tool list if you're just getting started and
442. 1:14:46you're like how do you figure out where to even start that's what this list is you could spend the next three months
443. 1:14:53months not looking at any other thing with AI just grabbing [ __ ] off this list and exploring it and and not even scratch the
444. 1:15:01surface so the first thing on this list is chat GPT and I talk about here's what you get with chat GPT 3.5 the free one

446. 1:15:16what can you do to earn an extra 20 bucks a month or not spend an extra 20 bucks a month to get this I would learn

448. 1:15:33down and if you can understand how to quickly navigate between these which that's how it's designed you can quickly navigate between these

453. 1:16:16internet rock paper scissors but there's there's an English bias to what's what's on the internet um chat jpt knows all the languages so so
454. 1:16:27it knows all the languages I would say that it is the the training set was likely heavily skewed toward English and
455. 1:16:34probably toward America just because of the nature of how the internet came up um I also don't know like I actually
456. 1:16:43don't know how much open AI put into making sure that there was some balance in terms of content sources so it's
457. 1:16:52possible it's more balanced than I thought I've been telling people I'm not on on my networks not realizing AI

459. 1:17:08networks Mighty networks is just it's just a hosting platform it's a community management software it's it's somewhere

467. 1:18:10big four then you got Pi grock llama 2 llama 2 is actually the one from meta that's been open sourced if you're
468. 1:18:20geeky um the open source Community right now is on fire there are so many open- Source projects if you're a developer in
469. 1:18:29any way I would strongly recommend you get involved in open source projects with with llama and and whatever um Lang
470. 1:18:38chain um autonomous agents there there's all sorts of [ __ ] you can be building right now um and you can be you know
471. 1:18:47sort of building on the back of the Llama 2 stuff that's out there um that that's a whole world in and of itself I
472. 1:18:53don't really cover it because it's it's just way too deep it the waters are too deep for my knowledge base um but
473. 1:18:59there's a there's a lot there um then there's a whole section on image tools Del mid Journey Kaa Deco here Leonardo and
474. 1:19:08Firefly every one of those is is a rabbit hole Leonardo in particular it has gotten very very sophisticated
475. 1:19:17there's a there's so much you can do with it and this is kind of the gateway drug to doing stable diffusion
476. 1:19:23on the you know on the back end with the open source Community that's a whole another world so just like llama 2 is
477. 1:19:29the is the gateway to the open- source Community for large language models stable diffusion does that for images
478. 1:19:36then you got video creation Runway ml P laabs haen did Visa then you've got music and audio there's a new one that I
479. 1:19:44haven't really even played with that much called Splash Pro where you can sing into it and it will model your
480. 1:19:51voice and then it will make songs likeo but it will make them in your voice Corey I know you do a lot of singing you
481. 1:19:58should sample your voice if you're in here um with that one that one's interesting then there's 3D worlds and
482. 1:20:04objects and then I've also got people to follow in here all right so that's that the other thing to play with in the
483. 1:20:13salon is we have guilds and so the guilds are hosted by people who are passionate about those sub subjects so
484. 1:20:20these are like sub communities within the salon and they have meetings and they've got places that you can you know

589. 1:38:14autonomous agents like that's coming this year too but I think there's completely different ways of interacting
590. 1:38:19with these tools that we're no one's thinking about right now because the interface is all like a Google search
591. 1:38:25box which I think is such a [ __ ] limiting thing like the fact that it's the fact that that it's still language is the
592. 1:38:34primary thing like even chat GPT they've got this thing called GPT Vision this group is all about exploration and treat the ultimate goal
593. 1:38:44is making a GPT no I I would say I don't think that's right Pate I I think there's even been a shift in that in the past month
594. 1:38:53the the reason people are excited about making gpts is you've got people who are not Engineers who are not coders who for
595. 1:39:01the first time in their lives have access to a tool that lets them create sophisticated applications without having to
596. 1:39:09program that's like that's staggeringly powerful so I would give people a little bit of Grace that they're exploring
597. 1:39:17that but I've even seen a shift in that I think there's a recognition amongst this group that the gpts are limited and
598. 1:39:23the GPT store is a giant piece of [ __ ] oh that's a great question lunatick so so Pate what impresses you most about Gemini that we haven't

670. 1:51:54disaster you'll probably get one or two in there that are close but they'll be like a little asymmetrical they'll be not great so
671. 1:52:03what I would strongly suggest is you're using any of these AI tools for concepting and then take that concept
672. 1:52:10into illustrator and redraw it Trace over it or give it to an artist who can do that um because these things aren't
673. 1:52:17making Vector images you can you can use use bit map to Vector converters to convert them but it's probably just as
674. 1:52:25easy to redraw stuff unless you're doing super sophisticated um logos which if you're doing a logo you want to be able to simplify it so
675. 1:52:37uh wait I've been having better experiences with Gemini Advanced writing over GPT but I start in GPT and move it
676. 1:52:48to Gemini oh that's really interesting soggy wa waffle ASMR that's really interesting yeah I haven't done that yet

721. 2:00:51what it's actually doing is is quite simple it's it's creating a flat image that's formatted in a very particular
722. 2:00:58way that makes it easy to map it onto a sphere so so from a technical standpoint this isn't truly creating a 3D world but
723. 2:01:08it's cleverly taking a 2D image and and formatting that in a way that you know gives you the illusion of of
724. 2:01:19of 3D so so this is an image mapped to a 3D sphere and what some people are doing with these objects is they're taking
725. 2:01:28them into Unreal Engine and then creating objects in Unreal Engine to making these interactive environments so
726. 2:01:34so this is a place that you can play there's also in that list there's this thing called Luma labs. and this is text to 3D

738. 2:03:542024 that's going to be text to 3D world that you can actually participate in in some way it might not have game mechanics but you'll

741. 2:04:25that soon and that's again that's a thing that all of a sudden changes like if you if you're really good at chat
742. 2:04:33chpt and you know how to use chat GPT even the current thing and all of a sudden it gets memory across
743. 2:04:41conversations it's going to completely change how we we all use chat GPT multiple interact so Source Camp
744. 2:04:49what what it's going to be able to do is if you have a conversation over here about um doing some branding stuff and you
745. 2:05:01have a conversation here about doing some business strategy and you have a conversation over here about doing some
746. 2:05:07tactical Social Media stuff it can it can connect the dots across those conversations now how you connect like how you have it remembered
747. 2:05:19and not remember like there's there's some conversations I have in chat gbt like if I'm just [ __ ] around here on
748. 2:05:24the channel I don't necessarily want that conversation to go into my larger memory context so I don't know how
749. 2:05:32you're going to opt in and opt out of that so I don't if anyone's using it yet I I'd be curious to know how they're
750. 2:05:37doing that but that's a big [ __ ] deal right Pi does that a little bit right now where Pi remembers who I am it
751. 2:05:46remembers what my name is it remembers some of the conversations we've had before I think that's going to get
752. 2:05:51better and better I think Apple's going to be really good at this so chat GPT is adding this idea of context you know memory across
753. 2:06:02conversations but what does that mean right now we all think and this is to P's point about right we're we're all
754. 2:06:10thinking about discret gpts and and discreet conversations and now we're going to come the ability to connect them and
755. 2:06:20have them understand each other what does that mean I don't [ __ ] know the fact that you can now call gpts inside a
756. 2:06:30conversation completely made me rethink what gpts even are right so so all of these little Nuance things that they're
757. 2:06:38adding are going to change what's possible in and in ways that I don't think any of us understand yet
758. 2:06:45so it's it's cuckoo people it's Coco Pi tends to forget past conversations over time so I hope that does get better yeah
759. 2:06:54it it does and again I think that has to do with context window like the size of the context window so if they can take
760. 2:07:01Knowledge from this conversation and embed that and drop it into a database basically and then start to connect
761. 2:07:10these conversations together that that would be pretty powerful big [ __ ] deal would be GPT allowing me to make folders for
762. 2:07:19conversations yeah that would be great that would be a way to manage it I'm trying to think about how my gpts

770. 2:08:44so right now when you're having a conversation in chat GPT let's say at the beginning of the conversation I say um we're going to talk about
771. 2:08:59um um we're going to talk about designing uh a new um oh we're going to talk about
772. 2:09:13designing new recipes for a vegan lifestyle that incorporates beef whatever right and and you start out the conversation up there and and
773. 2:09:26then you're talking you're talking about you know vegan lifestyle and vegan lifestyle and and at some point down
774. 2:09:33here you're not mentioning beef anymore you're just talking about vegan stuff and and just like your phone as you're
775. 2:09:40scrolling text up your phone there's a point at which it goes off screen and then you can't see it anymore that's
776. 2:09:46kind of what happens here where if you talk about beef early on in the vegan conversation and then you're talking
777. 2:09:51down here and that goes up and that goes out of the context window all of a sudden chat GPT if you reference beef
778. 2:09:59will not understand why you reference like it it won't know that you said that before so in a given conversation chat
779. 2:10:06GPT has memory of the conversation so long as it's in the context window which right now is about 6,000 Words which
780. 2:10:14seems like a lot but it's not and then some of the more advanced vers of gp4 go go up to 128,000 tokens which is like I don't
781. 2:10:24know 2,000 words or something like that what it sounds like we're going to be able to do is take the context of an entire
782. 2:10:36conversation and chat GPT will remember that and then you can connect that to other conversations so it can have memory across
783. 2:10:45conversations so if I'm talking about redesigning my kitchen here a vegan lifestyle here and modes of transportation here three separate
784. 2:10:55conversations but they're all sort of related philosophically somehow I'm going to be able to connect those conversations and
785. 2:11:03chat GPT will have memory across them which is a big deal just because right now everything's very siloed and and you put a lot of
786. 2:11:16work into having this conversation and then you jump into something semi-related it has no idea what you were talking about
787. 2:11:25before folders for conversations yes soon you might be able to wait what was [Music] that oh cool I didn't know it's on the
788. 2:11:38app it it's not yet well it is for some people looks like it's coming for some people chat GPT has a 4K context
789. 2:11:46window all of them on AP Pi have 128 for GPT turbo I thought GPT had 8 8K context window chat GPT but I don't know it's it

795. 2:13:13Python to do [ __ ] if you're like I don't know what python is it's a programming language and so what code interpreter does is it
796. 2:13:24will in the background because it's got access to python libraries it will write and execute python code and so what it
797. 2:13:34allows you to do is analyze wait no oh no how to group a file how to group things to a file within chat GPT
798. 2:13:52I don't quite know what you're asking for um well what but what it can do is it
799. 2:14:06can actually so so here let me let me try something here so let me let me make um give me five ideas about um being a vegan that

808. 2:16:29about how to maintain my muscle car comma and this picture into the single document so see where it says analyzing
809. 2:16:44here what it's actually doing is generating a Word document in and it's it should pull out all of this
810. 2:16:50content you know minus the prompts and put them in a Word document so in the case that we're talking about where there's this new
811. 2:17:01feature coming I don't have access to it yet where you could have memories across conversations you could potentially you
812. 2:17:09know create a new conversation that pulls in ideas from all of them let's see if this actually does this I this should work
813. 2:17:18but we'll see what's it doing in here yeah so docx is the library so it's creating it's creating um a word dock then it's putting in the
814. 2:17:35vegan tips then it's putting in the car tips and then it put in an image path I have a feeling the image is going to break but we'll see it
815. 2:17:46seems there was an issue adding the image to the document probably due to an unrecognized image format or a problem
816. 2:17:52processing the file let me correct that and try again the document's been successfully created here it is download the

857. 2:25:36going to show up and be a completely different thing so so learn as much as you can at the level that we're playing with right now
858. 2:25:48we're playing with training wheels we're playing with wooden blocks and what's coming are you know sophisticated
859. 2:25:57computers like the difference is going to be vast so let so what we all want to do in the next year is just keep playing

866. 2:27:01means I have no [ __ ] clue I know two concepts and there's probably way more than two but there's reasoning will be coming
867. 2:27:12which basically means chat GPT will understand what it said and be able to reason and figure out if it got it right and not give you an
868. 2:27:22answer until it knows it got it right so basically mistakes will drop to near zero in theory and then the other concept is autonomous agents
869. 2:27:36where rather than you having to tell chat GPT to do something you'll just give chat GPT a goal and it will generate a bunch of assist
870. 2:27:47agents that go off and take action on your behalf and come back with the results so between reasoning and agents it's a completely different
871. 2:28:00experience completely different product completely different possibilities and then I don't even know what El what else what
872. 2:28:09else and there's just the quality of the data will probably go up dramatically we're playing with four-year-old technology in in chat GPT
873. 2:28:18before so what's the new [ __ ] it costs them more for me to play than what they make make me pay yeah absolutely that's the thing laughing
