35. 9:20wrote an entire podcast course over the weekend and so my My article on LinkedIn is called the holy crap ification wait
36. 9:30Ai and the holy crapp ification of [Music] work so if you're on LinkedIn look up uh well it's it's hard to spell it's
37. 9:44holy crap you can look up holy crap look up Kyle just you can just go to my account Kyle Shannon and my latest
38. 9:51article is AI in the holy crapp ification of work and it basically means that [Music] right now today like right now today not
39. 10:05coming not in the future right now today AI tools are good enough that you regularly experience holy crap moments and then you just build
40. 10:20[ __ ] and so just off the top of my head I just listed like a dozen holy crap moments that I've had in the past two
41. 10:27years and I don't I don't think think I've scratched the surface like I don't think I I barely scratched the surface of [ __ ] I've
42. 10:34done and I just I kind of end the article with a plea like if you're not if you're not
43. 10:48aggressively aggressively getting curious about Ai and aggressively playing with it and and just [ __ ] around with it what the
44. 11:02[ __ ] like what the [ __ ] CU it's about to get way better and like one of the things that I put in the article here let me read

49. 12:07product 10 times more useful open AI API whisper Lang chain publish uh I'm a published holy crap I'm a published
50. 12:15author chat jpt Claude and elbow grease AI Futures in anthology holy crap I've written more books holy crap I've written a song good
51. 12:25enough to want to publish and learn on the guitar and then I have a link to weird Mary holy crap I'm writing a musical on
52. 12:31weekends and it's good holy crap I just made a killer promo piece for this new musical notebook LM audacity mid journey
53. 12:38and cling Ai and then I have a link to that holy crap I just got asked to fly to Washington DC to talk about AI to
54. 12:45senators and Congress people holy crap I just created digital Twins and a methodology for scaling them right holy
55. 12:52crap I just wrote another LinkedIn article right and that's without even trying but here's what I put I put
56. 13:04here's my plea get off the sidelines with ai ai right now is very janky it's imperfect it's ethically squishy it's
57. 13:13impossible to keep up with it's easy to demonize and minimize it's easy to convince yourself that you have a lot
58. 13:19more time than you do to let it mature and get real here's the problem it's very real it's shocking how powerful these tools are today
59. 13:29and precious few know anything about it the other problem is the tools are getting better alarmingly fast in fact
60. 13:36in the next 3 to 6 months are going to yield remarkable new capabilities from open AI anthropic meta Google Runway ml
61. 13:43perplexity and many many more here's the good news you don't need to be a Super Genius to use generative AI you just
62. 13:50need to be curious and adventurous and use your words I feel like I'm talking to five-year-olds you literally ask for
63. 13:58what you want and whoop there it [Laughter] is can I try it live I don't know what that

71. 15:41operating environment is is uh has deprecated so you need to upgrade the uh operating environment and then your
72. 15:48libraries and then well of course well if you it's actually quite simple if you just update the the JavaScript code the
73. 15:54the script that that kicks off you know what no no no no bad engineer anyway if you want to share a

80. 17:16meeting and we've been going ever since and um so we have two meetings a month right now we've got a first Tuesday of the
81. 17:26month meeting called the salon presents and that's where we've got speakers that speak and the third Tuesday of the month
82. 17:33which is tomorrow is called a salon meet and greet guess what we do there we meet and we greet each other
83. 17:43and you get to talk about here's what you're doing with AI or here's you want to be doing with something AI here's
84. 17:49what you do in your world in your life here's what you can offer people here's help you might need from the community
85. 17:57it's really quite inspiring what times Z is the meeting tomorrow well it's it's in all time zones cuz it's virtual um but the time is 5 to 7

102. 21:39GPT or I dumped a bunch of notes in and had chat GPT organized them and then you know you go in and you write it and you
103. 21:46got to [ __ ] break everything apart and take all the shitty writing that it did and turn it less shitty a shoe I own five businesses now
104. 21:57this okay this is the new thing part of part of the um holy crapp ification of work argument that I'm making is we don't quite know
105. 22:12yet what the future of work looks like right everyone's talking about oh if these tools get so good they're going to
106. 22:19come and take my job but what they're not talking about because it's not as sexy is if they're that good
107. 22:30and you're AI literate you get to use those tools right like the AIS are not just coming they're not like walking out of
108. 22:43Elon musk's robot event and taking your job people have to use this [ __ ] still 5 years from now sure they might just be
109. 22:52fully autonomous agents everyone's just [ __ ] at the whim of them but that's not where we are right now where we are
110. 22:59right now is if you are at all like at all AI literate you have a jump on the rest of the [ __ ] world that's sitting on the
111. 23:11sidelines and every single person that I know no matter where they started if they started pissed off or if they
112. 23:18started indignant or if they started in total fear or if they started neutral I don't know anything about AI the minute
113. 23:27they have one of these moments this holy crap moment the Kevin mallister moment they don't go back from [Music]
114. 23:37it and I think one of the mistakes that we make in the AI punditry business myself included is that we're so excited about
115. 23:47what's coming we think about AI as like it's not quite here yet and what's striking me right now is no no it's here it's just that no one's
116. 23:59using it we're early and as [ __ ] up as it is and as janky as it is and as like just unfulfilling as it is it is still way
117. 24:13more remarkable than working without it like I can't imagine going back to doing work without AI I can't like I can't [ __ ] fathom
118. 24:24it it just it feels achy I'll tell you something just stupid um so my wife had this new art show
119. 24:39and I'm I always write like her like the artist statements and [ __ ] like that like I'm good with words so I
120. 24:48write I always knew that I had anxiety about writing but but what AI has revealed to me is that I had a lot of anxiety about writing that
121. 25:00I would dread her shows coming up because I'd have to sit down and I have to think of stuff and I'd have to think
122. 25:05of metaphors and I'd have to go Google someone else's artist statement and then I'd read it and I'm like oh that sounds
123. 25:11so [ __ ] pretentious and how do I make it like a real art statement but not have to be [ __ ] pretentious and it
124. 25:17would take two hours of high anxiety shitty [ __ ] human garbage brain work not that it was it's garbage work but then it's
125. 25:30like it's like it just took forever to just get the basics down and then you start writing right it would take two
126. 25:38hours to get to a first draft and then you start writing and now what happens is I say there's this art show and it's abstract
127. 25:48art and here's the name of it and here's the description of it and here's what the artists has done before and what
128. 25:55they've talked and I just literally just pasted a bunch of [ __ ] in there and I say give me something and it goes squit out it [Laughter]
129. 26:07comes Give me a definition of the word Petra cor but write it as if it were a poem I want the a cross between a
130. 26:15dictionary definition and a poem squit there it is I didn't have to edit one word in that it nailed it
131. 26:26so the holy crap R ification of work is if you dare to get even the slightest bit AI literate like right now moving
132. 26:39forward like a shoe who owns Five businesses you will just start having this rolling series of holy crap I can't
133. 26:47believe it did it that fast I can't believe it did that I can't believe I can do that now that thing that I thought I'd never
134. 26:55be able to do in my life I can now do it in five minutes huh that's the holy crapp ification of work and you know who gets to have that

171. 35:53it fast at the end of the day today it was one of those where you you know those LinkedIn articles where sometimes

176. 36:27those wrest weird Mary from Cedar Hill lyrics and it did and then we went over to whichever tool it was I think it was udio and we
177. 36:37popped them in there and it made a bunch of shitty versions and then then it made this one that was kind of this Tom Petty
178. 36:43weird ass broken Bob Dylan Tom Petty janky piece of [ __ ] song that was just kind of magic and then we just worked on the lyrics and
179. 36:55worked on extending it and it was like a three-hour process and we published it so that was it and that's you know that's that that
180. 37:08that Holy crapp ification of work thing that we now live in a world where we all have we everyone who's got access to a
181. 37:23computer has access to tools that are so powerful that you can literally just have like a brain fart and um a couple hours later you have a
182. 37:39finished product it could be a you know an ad for your company it could be you know a children's book like Brandon did for his
183. 37:50he got inspired one night on here and went off and made a a children's book for his kids and I think he said he put
184. 37:57in 4 hours on it total including getting it published his kids now have a book that Daddy wrote with pictures in it that
185. 38:06teaches them about AI stuff that's the world we live in today imagine what it's going to be like when this [ __ ] gets [Laughter]
186. 38:22good you can now make videos that people have you seen all the the the sea monster videos that are going around the
187. 38:29internet right now where there's like these giant squid squid looking things on the Japanese fishing boats they're like as tall as the
188. 38:40men and people that don't know AI don't know they're not real we can do that today Ethan mullock just put out a thing
189. 38:53he recorded 10 seconds of his voice locally on his computer turned it into an 11 Labs like model and had it say text that sounded
190. 39:07like him locally on his computer no safety guard rails that's there today these music generation tools are getting more and more and more
191. 39:21sophisticated the large language models are getting more and more and more sophisticated the
192. 39:36um the podcast feature in Notebook LM all of a sudden gave it all this notoriety we'll go play with there's a
193. 39:44new new Tool out from them called illuminate. goole.com where they basically I predicted this I said you
194. 39:51watch they're going to pull that feature out and launch it as a standalone product it's called illuminate.
195. 39:58google.com and apparently what's coming in that is you're going to be able to um write your own prom you can even do it
196. 40:05right now you can write your own prompt um for the kind of podcast you want and what's coming is you're going to be able
197. 40:11to pick a different host and a different guest so right now in Notebook LM you just get this podcast that's like the
198. 40:18dude and the girl or the dude and the woman and in future you'll be able to pick which ones you want and the future
199. 40:26beyond that you'll be able able to make yourself be the podcast host and someone else be the guest or vice versa that's here
200. 40:35today you upload a 30 or 40 page PDF of your sales process that's [ __ ] horrible and dry and you make people read before they start their
201. 40:50job and you turn that into an interesting podcast they can listen to on the way to work that pulls out the most alent points
202. 40:58and teaches it in an entertaining way that's there today holy crap I didn't know it could do that the holy crapp ification of

206. 41:45really well and I'm playing with all these AI tools and it took me about a year cuz I'm I'm a little dim I'm one of
207. 41:52the dimmer light bulbs on the Christmas tree um I just looked at all this AI stuff that was over here and I'm looking at my
208. 42:02company it's over here and they just felt like completely different worlds and then at some point it kind of
209. 42:08clicked oh I could take this and if I roll it into this thing right I get to amplify all the [ __ ] that our stuff does

376. 1:09:45salon earlier in the year talked about um letting go of his copywriter and then he kept his account person and had her
377. 1:09:55become the copywriter because she had Ai and he said it wasn't about the personalities it it was about their kind
378. 1:10:03of attitudes and the copywriter was very stuck in her ways about copywriting and he said the account person had
379. 1:10:10taste and he knew that the account person could look at the output of the AI and go ooh that's good that's not
380. 1:10:17good with that taste she became incredibly good at copyrighting using AI as her as her assistant um and so this is this is a really
381. 1:10:27really good example of that that without a film making background you did something that strong in linear
382. 1:10:34narrative says to me you've just you've got taste and you paid attention to all these different tools and what they can
383. 1:10:40make possible and you've probably watched enough TV and movies to know what you like and you just [ __ ] did that holy [ __ ] it's so

394. 1:12:33serious about it and I it allowed me to be more creative and have fun yeah yeah back to the play thing wow that's so
395. 1:12:44amazing did you did you have like all the raw assets and then what what were the last three two or three days was it
396. 1:12:49all the Assembly of it um actually no I had the beginning of the film done and the ending done it was the middle I
397. 1:12:59worked on and mostly it was interjecting the Irregulars and you because I really would like to I'm 60 years old and I want when I retire I
398. 1:13:15want something I can still do as a hide a side hustle uhuh so I'm very serious about learning this um so I think making the film I was
399. 1:13:25super focused on Perfection so when I walked away I thought you know what I just have to have fun with this and where I have fun
400. 1:13:35is watching you guys and interacting so that helped me so much to complete it and I was able to complete it so fast
401. 1:13:45where before I was working on it for four months H we I mean that's I I mean there's just there's so many flipping
402. 1:13:53lessons here I mean you know play first have have fun doing this right that's part of the joy of these tools is they
403. 1:14:01allow you to take ideas and just you know blow the doors off them which you did and you know not being in a
404. 1:14:08perfectionist mindset because you can make so much stuff now that it's awesome and I I mean I'm very serious it sounds
405. 1:14:15like you said you know you wanted to be able to have you know a side hustle when you retire like this is strong enough
406. 1:14:21like I don't I mean it's you know nothing's perfect when it when comes to any any sort of art right you're going
407. 1:14:27to see all of the warts on that but it is it's a really strong piece I mean I I have watched so many AI things that have
408. 1:14:37gotten lots of people talking about them I most of them suck like most of them are just not good this was really good
409. 1:14:47so well thank you I put a lot of time into it and you know when I started it the tools um weren't that great um and I
410. 1:14:58noticed just in the time I walked away from it how much better it yeah they became yeah and and I I don't know it all came
411. 1:15:09together as the tools got better as well yeah that's interesting but but you did things in there you know there's one of
412. 1:15:15my favorite I got to interview Randon Robin Miller who were the creators of the Mist game um when I when I was doing
413. 1:15:23Urban desires back in the mid90s and the m game was came out at a time I don't know if you remember miss it was a
414. 1:15:31cdrom based game it was it was a puzzle game and it it had a really cool soundtrack and these really beautiful
415. 1:15:37visuals and they used they used QuickTime movies in like really small areas on the screen like there'd be a
416. 1:15:44Podium with a book on it and the book would open up and that that would be the video like the pages doing this and then
417. 1:15:49you'd see static on oh yes yes right and what was brilliant about it most video games at the time were trying to muscle
418. 1:15:583D Graphics to create realistic looking games and what Rand and Robin Miller did was they said well there's all these
419. 1:16:06limitations with you know computer power and rendering things in real time so why don't we render beautiful still images
420. 1:16:14and then we'll use sound and and a smart incorporation of video in small little areas to bring it to life and it was
421. 1:16:21just a brilliant approach to like living within the constraints and I felt felt like that opening scene where you're
422. 1:16:27where you're showing the back of people's heads and just show them from the side a little bit and you know you
423. 1:16:32did short little Cuts so no one was on screen for too long like if there was any jankiness there it was all hidden
424. 1:16:37you know what I mean so I felt like you worked within the constraints constraints of the Jank really really well I worked
425. 1:16:45on hiding the Jank and that's why I put you your character not wanting to be identified because you you drove most of the the movie in my
426. 1:17:00opinion that's awesome so and then the backs of the heads that was to keep the Jank out and so because I really get
427. 1:17:09annoyed when I see bad lips sinking I just I won't do it I just I refuse it's awful even though they're better it's
428. 1:17:18still in my opinion too annoying to watch yeah hedra right now I just did a test in hedra today I just I just built
429. 1:17:26one of these things today I built it in he Jen and it it sucked like it's F like it's fine for you know what we're going
430. 1:17:34to use it for for our client but it's just it's still really janky um but hedra was was dramatically better so if
431. 1:17:41you haven't played with hedra that's that's worth playing with with lip sync stuff I did but that was quite a while

456. 1:21:37tools that she used if you look at at the end all the stuff that she used that contributed to that every one of those is is new
457. 1:21:47experiments and new feeling uncomfortable and knew like oh I don't know if I can do this oh it gave me
458. 1:21:52shitty results but that was pretty good that's why in the AI
459. 1:22:06Salon where is the a salon oh it's here that's why in the AI
460. 1:22:23Salon that is where you start you don't start taking a class you don't start learning prompt engineering
461. 1:22:37you don't start trying to perfect it you start playing and then the next step is once you learn enough playing and [ __ ]

463. 1:23:05that and so she went away for a month or two and when she came back to it and started putting the Irregulars
