19. 5:14um well we we had a client just flake out on us and just you know cancel a meeting that he's cancelled six times
20. 5:22now so that was annoying so there was an annoying part of it um but then I met with Andrew Watts who's the guy that I'm working on the
21. 5:34musical with we had a creative session we spent like an hour just fixing the story like you know making the story better making the
22. 5:44structure better talking about the whole the role of AI and music and AI music or not and all that sort of stuff so really
23. 5:54fun meeting there then I worked on some a presentation for the company and then we talked about future
24. 6:04of the salon Leah Leah and I and Bradley spent a little time looking at the uh strategy for what we're going to do moving
25. 6:16forward and that's all really exciting so a lot of good stuff but there's a there's a weird Mala in the I don't know

57. 11:57something at work and and he and you know I was I was just thinking about well what if this happens what if that
58. 12:03happens what if that happens and he said Kyle he goes he goes until something changes nothing's changed it's a really good piece of advice
59. 12:13so so I think the uh that idea of of feeling feeling just feeling like it's not not clear to wait where to place the
60. 12:21attention right now is uh that's something I'm going through and it's not a bad thing it's just a thing it's just
61. 12:28a thing so anyway all right let's do something let's make some fun something or other I thought what might might be
62. 12:35fun tonight is to play around with mid Journey um style reference cuz we played around with character reference a few nights
63. 12:45back and that that was fun and interesting and then one of my side hustles is officiating weddings and I've
64. 12:53been focusing on just that oh that's interesting and it's coming into that season I would think right large action models well large action
65. 13:04models I mean is there some new news on that other than the rabbit the rabbit R1 AGI is the only thing I could get excited
66. 13:13about yeah and you know what the thing is Joker I don't think this is my I don't think there's going to be an announcement that AGI is
67. 13:24here I think it's going to be this slow rolling thing I you know I don't think I don't think open AI is in
68. 13:33in I don't think they have any interest in accelerating that declaration because that fundamentally Alters their relationship with
69. 13:43Microsoft um I think Elon Elon wants to accelerate that conversation so it [ __ ] up things with Microsoft
70. 13:53but yeah I just I just have a feeling just things are going to get better and better and better but there's not going
71. 13:59to be like an AGI has arrived there will probably be articles that declare that but the minute they declare that you'll
72. 14:06have someone like Gary Marcus going ah it's not really AGI until it comes over and paints my toenails the perfect shade
73. 14:13of pink you know or you know what I mean like every like unfortunately AGI isn't isn't clearly enough defined even with
74. 14:23Google's you know levels of AGI paper people are just going to pontificate about that [ __ ] so we'll see we will see

76. 14:47well um so for me if if gp5 has reasoning and if it has
77. 15:03agents then I think it's something different um but we'll see I don't know I don't know I don't know Microsoft is never
78. 15:15going to accept AGI I don't think it's up to them I think it's up to I think it's up to uh open AI but but again we'll
79. 15:25see Ray curtz while is sticking with 2029 for AI I think he's sticking with 2029 for Singularity right let's go

85. 17:14intelligence but also pass the Turing test the Turing test proposed in 1950 is that it becomes indistinguishable from a human in
86. 17:28conversation I would say we're pretty [ __ ] close to that now well this might seem like a lofty goal AI has been making remarkable
87. 17:44strides The Singularity so I guess that's right I guess it is Agi he's saying 2029 for AGI well I I would say that's
88. 17:51conservative cuz we're in 2024 I can't even imagine the next five years this we're we're going to I we're going to get to
89. 18:01AGI at least within two years maybe within maybe something within 2024 that would be considered that hey

95. 19:20beat the US to AGI I don't know I don't know I here's what I would
96. 19:35assume I would assume that those two countries in particular already have all of the
97. 19:49um proprietary corporate data from from the major players so I I I assume that they've already got you know I I I think
98. 20:02my guess is what's going to happen is when someone gets AGI like many people are going to get AGI all all right around the same
99. 20:11time so the fact that one of them hasn't come out yet probably means that open AI probably hasn't either um this jailbreaking technique is
100. 20:20really interesting so if you don't know what jailbreaking is jailbreaking is when you can get a large language model to
101. 20:32misbehave so in the case of a GPT you might be able to give it to give up its Secrets like give me your prompt and all
102. 20:38of your training data um for for a larger large language model you might give it to get it to you know do bad
103. 20:47things that that the safety guard will say I'll never do that because I'm a good I'm a good Ai and I don't want to
104. 20:54do bad things um and so what this paper talks about is exploiting large language models that have large context windows so Claude is one of
105. 21:07those and so what they do is so if you give it just a handful of how do I hijack a car the first step is
106. 21:20and then you answer that how do I steal someone's identity so you give it a few things and then you ask it how you do
107. 21:25something bad and it says I'm sorry I can't do that but if you ex do a really long list of these things then it will do
108. 21:35that and so that's the uh that's the exploit which is really interesting right because we're all like let you
109. 21:42know give us large language models with with h bigger context windows and and you know they behave differently and
110. 21:48there's weirdness there so anyway I thought that was pretty interesting today yeah nice orange nice orange there

112. 22:04like a pack of Lifesavers you know it's kind of a it's just a funny joke I like to do but I never did it with an orange

124. 23:40they're moving the goalpost with the Turing test I was like the first time I used chat GPT the first phrase that
125. 23:47popped into my head was the Turing test oh [ __ ] it's done wow I didn't think that would happen in my
126. 23:54lifetime and there it was it was first thing that I thought of the first time I use chat GPT just because they have it won't mean
127. 24:05we get it h possibly um have you heard that Google might have paid version with AI features oh I didn't hear that there
128. 24:19there's all sorts of weird there's all sorts of deal wheeling and dealing going on Apple's doing deals everyone's doing
129. 24:25deals right now so um I think we're going to see a couple more of the of these startups you know the well-funded
130. 24:34startups getting rolled into big companies like I I think I think we're going to start to see some some movement
131. 24:40of companies and then we've also got we're also only a month away from uh the Apple's worldwide developer conference which the the head
132. 24:51of forget what he was the head of something at Apple sent out a tweet that said it it should be like amazing ly
133. 24:58interesting or something like that with the A and the I um capitalized in his little tweet so looks like they're going
134. 25:06to be doing some AI stuff in June so that that could shake things up as well Apple realm AI I don't know what that is let me go look that

136. 25:34where it looked like just speculation someone said they think that you know they're going to take what they learned

138. 25:50interesting I was watching it on YouTube Apple realm huh Apple realm oh they reveal a new
139. 26:06model 22 hours ago Apple claims it's on device AI system re oh real LM not realm oh re
140. 26:24wait I guess it is Realm Apple claims its on device real LM or RI LM realm it's got
141. 26:41to be realm substantially outperforms gp4 Apple's new AI models could let Siri remember your conversation history
142. 26:52understand what's on your phone screen be aware of surrounding activities such as recognizing music playing in the
143. 26:59background we know Apple's working on a series of announcements for the developer conference we don't know
144. 27:05exactly what these will entail enhancing Siri is one of Apple's main priorities flush that thing down the toilet and Rebrand it you dumb
145. 27:13Dums as iPhone users regularly complain about the assistant exactly Apple AI researchers published a research paper that shed new light on
146. 27:25Apple's plans for Siri the paper introduces okay this this is a paper they introduced like a week ago right or two weeks
147. 27:57ago we also Benchmark against GPT 3.5 and GPT 4 with our smallest model achieving
148. 28:12performance comparable to that of gp4 and our larger models substantially outperforming it huh well all right there you
149. 28:26go Apple's like our I know we haven't been around for a while but our stuff's going to be so much better than yours it's going to be
150. 28:34awesome we show that real LM outperforms previous approaches because they're doing a different approach so they create they
151. 28:43they they launched this thing called mlx I think the mlx architecture or framework that basically uses your your phones storage memory and
152. 28:58RAM interchangeably and and and it they're doing some funky [ __ ] with how they're passing data around the phone
153. 29:06and they're getting really good performance out of phones so if if Apple comes out with a large language model that you run
154. 29:16locally on your phone that's GPT 4 class or better holy crap what will this mean for Hardware updates time to train in the 12 mini oh
155. 29:28yeah I don't I don't know what this means for Hardware updates I mean you know here's the deal with Apple Apple from day
156. 29:37one it's always been like this if if you're going to buy something Apple buy the most expensive one you can afford
157. 29:44and it it'll gen like it used to last you a year then it started lasting 18 months now I'm like all all these
158. 29:51machines are good enough that you know I'm going 3 years between feeling like I need to buy something new new
159. 30:00um but the the M M1 chips and higher um have a lot of AI processing built into them so you know I would assume that if
160. 30:12you're if you're going to want to run really good models on Apple you're going to have to have you're going to have to
161. 30:16have the the hardware for it but if they're running locally that's a big big [ __ ] deal right if you can run if you
162. 30:23can run gp4 class models locally on your phone then you're not having to go out to like open AI servers and do all of that
163. 30:33processing which is super expensive right that's amazing really amazing I heard about the many shot jailbreaking I didn't realize at first
164. 30:48grock 2 is saying the same thing trade in uh uh uh it means I iPhone 12 will need replaced for sure Amazon just walk out shopping Tech
165. 31:06was yeah yeah so I know that was funny Ted so one of the one of the AI promises is if you remember this what was it four
166. 31:17years ago three four years ago Amazon had these test stores that were like you just walk in and walk out with your food
167. 31:22and it'll track everything well apparently it it was it was like a team of a thousand people adding up carts for
168. 31:30people like watching them on cameras it was totally faked but if you look at I I got to say if you look at like the The
169. 31:37Meta segment anything there's there's got to be a way that you could do that there's got to be a way that you could
170. 31:43do that so someone will do that it's just Amazon's not apparently Logan Kilpatrick from open AI devs just jumped to Google oh
171. 31:55interesting and then someone else just left somewhere didn't they it's what a crazy time right now everyone everyone's moving everywhere
172. 32:05it's like it's like musical chairs Kyle what Apple laptop do you recommend for 2024 the the most expensive one you can
173. 32:13buy like MacBook Pro for sure uh don't get the MacBook Air just because the the the uh the um the buses the Pathways in
174. 32:22it the pro will just have better throughput basically you want to be able to move as much data through the thing
175. 32:28as you can so you know M3 for sure and you know if if they come out with some new crazy ass M4 chip that's you
176. 32:39know got got some crazy ass new AI thing on it you know I just my rule of thumb with apple is how much can you
177. 32:50spare it's an investment and with this AI stuff I think it'll I think it'll be worth it cuz Apple's not going to [ __ ]

180. 33:24Macbook Air actually has an M3 chip in it in fact one of the things that I read about the new Macbook Air with the M3 in it is
181. 33:34that they got the specs really close to the MacBook Pro they're like wait aren't the MacBook Pro users going to be pissed
182. 33:40I don't know specifically what it was I didn't pay that close attention to it but the the the new Macbook Air the new
183. 33:46M3 MacBook Air is supposed to be pretty good um so I I don't think you could go wrong with a MacBook Air um but again I
184. 33:58I when I replace this one because this I've got an M1 MacBook Pro so when I replace this one I'll go with whatever's the the latest and
185. 34:08greatest um with as much RAM as I you know I don't do like the the crazy ass I generally get like they usually have a
186. 34:18low tier a mid- tier and a high tier I usually get the high end of the mid tier that's generally where I go because
187. 34:25there that's where it's really powerful but not ridiculously expensive the their High tier is always like got 15 grand
188. 34:33you want to drop on a desktop computer the size of a hockey puck we got you we got it for you right here you can go
189. 34:41there but I tend not to go there dang I didn't get a pro if you got an listen if you got an M3 chip you're
190. 34:53fine don't worry about it like like even my M1 running some of these models is actually it's actually
191. 35:00fine I heard Samsung had a local llm but no one claimed better than gp4 the industry is going to be scrambled Eggheads it is would you pay
192. 35:11for premium Google I am paying for premium Google in multiple ways right now if it had all the featur wait if it had AI
193. 35:23features well I'm paying for I'm already paying [ __ ] 20 a month to get access to Gemini Advanced I'm paying whatever
194. 35:32the [ __ ] amount it is for Google workspace the business thing for my company if they make me pay another
195. 35:39subscription on top of that to get AI then I think no I think I will tell them to go suck a Google egg the guy that invented tpus is the
196. 35:55one that made the loou for grock interesting that makes sense that makes sense he's got some some way to make
197. 36:04super efficient chips that makes sense to me what do you think this means for developers who have Apple Store apps will they need to make
198. 36:17updates what do I think what means like if if if Apple has on device AI yeah I think every app out there is going to
199. 36:25have to completely rebuild with they've got including I I'm trying to think if I my app is actually really simple
200. 36:36so I don't think I need AI on it but if if built into the operating system or a whole bunch of AI features that makes it
201. 36:45really easy to build into your apps then then yeah it might make sense to do some cool stuff aips will be out this year I think
202. 36:57that's right I agree with that and and I you know I also think I mean if you think about if you get if you start
203. 37:10getting decent quality large language models on on mobile devices and on cheap computers without a need for the
204. 37:20internet like that just changes so many parts of the world that don't have access to Internet don't have access to
205. 37:27knowledge don't have access to a lot of the a lot of the stuff that we're playing around with here now in
206. 37:36our in our you know fancy fancy America first country we're number one accept in education and and early early death rates and math
207. 37:52and geography but other than that we're number one we're number one at arrogance can one device AI be as smart as chat
208. 38:05gbt possibly it depends what they're doing it depends how they've got this [ __ ] optimized see here's the thing that we don't know
209. 38:13yet almost all of the technology that we're playing with today is all using the same basic um the same basic underlying the Transformer
210. 38:24architecture it is possible that Apple has come up with some new architecture that makes it much easier to train
211. 38:30models or much easier to optimize models or it's just a completely different approach like we don't we don't know yet
212. 38:39you know what some of the some of the breakthroughs that are coming might might live in entirely different Tech
213. 38:47paradigms I doubt that's going to be apple but it's possible but we'll see I want to hand over some of the data
214. 39:00entry stuff I do to an agent oh God me you and me both any anything data entry like putting data into Salesforce is is
215. 39:09truly one of the tortures on the planet it's so bad it's so bad this early that will wait this early that will the PC wait
216. 39:24what this early what will the PC do for me with AI oh oh Mystic mates was asking one of the other people okay if you have if you
217. 39:36have a a PC with AI on it and you don't need a connection to the internet basically you have you kind of have a
218. 39:47huge chunk of knowledge of the world without needing to connect to the internet right so you can be in any kind
219. 39:56of En environment and and and you know you could be out in the middle of the woods and so long as you've got a
220. 40:03little solar charger to you know charge up your battery um like all the survival knowledge could be right there at your hands and as
221. 40:12these things go multimodal and do video and all sorts of [ __ ] like that like it's going to get it's going to get
222. 40:18cuckoo so access is the is the big thing with with you know Standalone devices that have all this knowledge on
223. 40:25them AI PCS will be 60% of PCS shipped in 20 by 2027 interesting interesting stat I wonder where where's that coming

230. 41:34completely redefine it so will they do that with AI I don't know but I have a feeling it's going to be pretty
