85. 18:26history why can you not do that on the web what's going on why can they not add a feature that they've already written

111. 23:40team that is a lie it's not an upgrade it's a separate subscription and when you upgrade to team it does not migrate your gpts and
112. 23:52your search history over so U and apparently they're going to fix that in the the uh coming weeks it's like then
113. 24:02don't [ __ ] launch the thing yeah weirdos uh where is the store okay so if you go to chat GPT you'll land here um so in press
114. 24:15releases they call it the chat GPT store in the interface they call it explore gpts so if you click on explore gpts over there
115. 24:25it takes you to this thing that also does not say the GPT store because it's not a store CU you can't buy anything
116. 24:33and you can't really find anything and you can't find like all of the gpts that some specific person made and they only
117. 24:41have they have seven sections and they're featuring up to 12 gpts per section so if you compare this for
118. 24:49example to PO poe.com they also have a GPT store or what they call a bot store
119. 25:07what's going on why is it not letting me in did I not oh it is okay so if I go to explore here see it's got all these
120. 25:16different categories at the top so I can go to cooking for example so here's all the cooking ones something went wrong loading more
121. 25:27so it's just this big long ass scrolling list of all the cooking bots so like at a minimum this is what the GPT store
122. 25:37should be but they've only got 12 per section if I go to the GPT store when you go to these different sections
123. 25:44they're not even going to a separate web page it's this is all one long web page with just anchor anchor hyperlinks to
124. 25:52the different sections this is this is I I I say pretty much nightly that everything in a AI right now are janky

143. 29:44subscription you can um create these things called gpts which are just very customized specific think of them like
144. 29:52iPhone apps but that use gp4 technology and so this is this is one of them and uh this is a really cool one I was

146. 30:09glaze for a for cone 6 Pottery I have no [ __ ] idea what cone 6 Pottery is but if you click that little button it will make you a unique

296. 56:44a little bit about why we didn't have one 10 years ago so 2017 so okay machine learning in AI has been
297. 56:54around for decades it's been around for decades um you know we had things like big blue that beat Gary kaspar off and we have these expert
298. 57:07systems a lot of those systems were were sort of vertical specialty systems where researchers had to come with their own
299. 57:15data so they'd come with MRI data or x-ray data or mathematical data or whatever it was and they would train
300. 57:22these gpts to do this specialized thing in 2017 Pat's company it's this it's this little startup out of uh out of the
301. 57:32valley what's it called Google they just it's it's like a teeny little 200,000 person startup so Google in 2017 invents
302. 57:42this thing called the Transformer and what the Transformer does it's a it's a paper you can go read the paper if you want it's called
303. 57:50attention is all you need and they introduced this concept of a transformer and what the Transformer it it does a
304. 57:56lot of things but ostensibly what it allows researchers to do is train machine learning models on massive data
305. 58:07sets and so one of the things that Sam wman recognized very early on shortly after the Transformer came out is that
306. 58:16is that oh we could train this on massive data sets well one of the biggest data sets in the world is the
307. 58:23public internet why don't we go get as much of the public internet as as we can embedded into this model using these
308. 58:33Transformer things and see what it can do and so I think in 20 18 they did gpt1 in
309. 58:4820 19 they did gpt2 in 2020 they did gpt3 and GP 3 was the first um of these large language models to start behaving like holy [ __ ] this
310. 59:04thing works and so it actually made some news like I heard about gpt3 that you know researchers had come
311. 59:13up with this model that is really really good um that was in 2020 that gpt3 launched to the developer
312. 59:27community in the documentation for gpt3 where the instructions the example app or one of the example apps in the
313. 59:38documentation for the GPT Foundation model was a little thing called chat GPT here's how you could make a
314. 59:47chatbot using the GPT Foundation model nobody built it for two years two years nobody built it so then open AI Cuts this deal with
315. 1:00:02Microsoft and Microsoft is getting it ready to to announce their first billion doll investment into open Ai and Sam Alman says well we don't
316. 1:00:13really have anything non-technical to show the world hey uh engineer team why don't you go whip up that chat GPT thing
317. 1:00:22since no one's built it and that was in October of 2022 like late late October two weeks later they had created chat
318. 1:00:35gbt and on November 29th the team went out for drinks the night before and they're like okay I guess we'll launch this thing
319. 1:00:44tomorrow and so they launch it and they they thought that it would get maybe a blog post and 5,000 comments that was
320. 1:00:51that was their it was there was a New York Times article that talked about this meeting they thought it was going to be
321. 1:00:58a a you know one blog post and 5,000 comments or something like that and 5 days later they had a million users and
322. 1:01:066 weeks later they had 100 million users so it wasn't the ability to make something like chat chpt wasn't even really possible until
323. 1:01:202020 um now could Google have made chat GPT way before open AI could or did yeah but I think one of the things that
324. 1:01:34Google recognized is that they have they have a business model not based on answering people's questions they have a
325. 1:01:43business model based on presenting people with hundreds of possible ways to answer their question that they all have
326. 1:01:51to click on and every time they click Google gets paid and I think Google probably recognized hey if we make this just
327. 1:02:00answer [ __ ] engine that kind of [ __ ] up our business model and then chat GPT came out even open AI didn't think it was a big deal
328. 1:02:14and then it became a big deal so we are a year and a month into the world kind of stumbling onto a simple interface to this really powerful
329. 1:02:29technology that that captured the imagination of everyone basically do you think there'll be a time when people will get AI
330. 1:02:37Solutions Solutions architect certification absolutely absolutely and that's if you want to uh IO evth EV ever ever IO ever IO
331. 1:02:53ever I I don't know how to say your name um the uh the AI exchange Rachel Woods T Tik Tok Channel and her AI exchange
332. 1:03:04Community she focuses a lot on AI operations um I would hang out in that group because that's that's a lot of
333. 1:03:12what they talk about but yeah but but not for a while the these tools so so just to be clear I'm I'm looking at this channel
334. 1:03:22represents um talking about AI after the inflection point of November 30th 2022 when chat GPT launch launches for me
335. 1:03:34that's the inflection point where the rest of the world gets access to these powerful tools prior to that you had to
336. 1:03:41be a mathematician or an engineer or a you know researcher chat GPT represents the rest of us get to play with this
337. 1:03:51[ __ ] we're going to spend the next two or three or 5 years with just advancement after advancement after
338. 1:03:58advancement after advancement so it's going to be just we're we're in we're very much in primordial soup of AI right
339. 1:04:06now we're we're just nobody knows what's going on nobody knows how to do anything nobody knows what infrastructure should
340. 1:04:13be there everyone's kind of experimenting with it the open source Community is doing all their stuff but yeah I would get as educated

356. 1:06:41he did two or three videos talking about qar the the the Breakthrough in open AI that they think they might have gotten to AGI
357. 1:06:50with I think it was the second video he did after Alman got fired talking about qar where he does some speculative stuff about if this is
358. 1:07:01true um basically um um cryptography is dead because we can basically crack all of cryptography I don't think that
359. 1:07:10happened I think he's since debunked that but like that's where this is headed right as as we get to AGI and
360. 1:07:19these things can reason um things like cryptographic standards are going to have to change completely so cyber
361. 1:07:26security is about to be decimated like all the [ __ ] that you've learned in cyber security is just going to get
362. 1:07:34completely upended in the next three years so so get AI literate as soon as you can uh Dr bod what's an agent okay
363. 1:07:41so so an agent you'll also hear them sometimes called autonomous agents um or assistants you'll hear assistants what they are is when
364. 1:07:54when something like chat GPT can take actions on its own and so so right now you go to chat GPT you type in a prompt and it gives you an
365. 1:08:10answer what an agent could do you could say dear agent um I'd like to book a trip to Mexico and your agent will go okay
366. 1:08:22um I we will have already given it access to Expedia and you know our our um you know our date our our
367. 1:08:35itinerary planner and and our calendars and things like that so so you'll have given access to this agent to certain of your
368. 1:08:43systems and then you just give it a goal and it will go off and just start taking actions it will prompt itself to go find
369. 1:08:52the cheapest flights and find this the flights that have your preferences and it knows when you like to fly and and it
370. 1:08:59it remembers all this stuff and it it will just go off and and some of the agents will even be able to generate
371. 1:09:05other agents so you might have a master agent that you give a goal to and it says okay we need someone to go get us
372. 1:09:11plane tickets we need another agent to go get us hotels we need another agent to book day trips we need another agent
373. 1:09:18to book dinners and all these agents will go off and do their thing autonomous L as if you had a travel agent and then they will come back
374. 1:09:29having completed their task they will basically go out there and do that [ __ ] until they complete their task they'll
375. 1:09:35come back to that Master agent and say Here's your stuff and then at whatever point they're done the master agent will
376. 1:09:40reach back out to you and go here you go and you're like ah it seems that that itinerary seems a little busy can we can
377. 1:09:46we dumb it down a little bit sure thing Boss off they go again so and and that's just like one teeny tiny example so
378. 1:09:54there's going to be lots of that stuff Apple's going to be really good at this pay pay attention to what Apple does in
379. 1:10:00the space Apple's stuff's going to feel more like magic than a lot of the stuff right now because right now we're having
380. 1:10:06to we're having to provide the reasoning and the logic to to sort of steer these things agents in the future will have
381. 1:10:16much more autonomy and they they'll be really good at doing things on our behalf that's insane where can you create an agent so
382. 1:10:24so you can create an agent you can create assistance within um within chat GPT there's also in the open
383. 1:10:34source Community there's a lot of this stuff there's um oh what the hell was it called I can't
384. 1:10:48remember there was one called Baby AGI just just go to Reddit if you're geeky you can do this right now all
385. 1:10:58there there's a ton of these projects on open source David Shapiro has a has a a project for autonomous agents so if if
386. 1:11:06you don't follow David Shapiro go follow David Shapiro he's Dave shap at or dve shap on YouTube um he's got a project right now
387. 1:11:17for cognitive architecture for an AGI system and then he's got a second project an open source project for um
388. 1:11:24autonomous agents that can spin up other autonomous agents agent GPT that was it an auto GPT thank thanks comp uh Brandon comp comp KSU
389. 1:11:38um yeah autog GPT is the one I was thinking of and and um so so those are open-source um assistant or agent
390. 1:11:49projects and you can go you can go build them right now now here's the deal about them we're early the the the caveat for all of
391. 1:11:59these things right now they're just they're janky pieces of [ __ ] the other thing about agents is that they will run
392. 1:12:06up your open AI bill because you say to it Go accomplish this task and it will just go try to accomplish that task over
393. 1:12:14and over and over again and if it fails it'll try it again and it'll try it again so you could run up your your open
394. 1:12:20AI API Bill really really really quickly uh if you're not careful um but but that's 2024 we're going to start to see some of these
395. 1:12:29things emerge and and I would think that they're going to be within chat GPT they're likely going to be within Gemini
396. 1:12:35Ultra at some point how long before Dolly e fixes the issues with text and images I'm guessing mid to end of this
397. 1:12:42year someone will crack that nut um it's already way better than it was six months ago like six months ago you couldn't do text and images
398. 1:12:54and then um ideogram came out and all of a sudden you could and then Dolly 3 came out and it got really good 20123 the last normal
399. 1:13:02year exactly 2023 is going to be the last year where we're kind of the ones providing the logic 2024 these systems are going to
400. 1:13:15start to get reasoning and once they get reasoning here here's here's one of the things that happens with with with AI
401. 1:13:22with machine learning an AI and and like the question about why didn't we have chat GPT 10 years ago when we had all this
402. 1:13:33stuff AI kind of goes it's crappy it's crappy it's crappy it's crappy it's crappy it's crappy like years are
403. 1:13:40passing right it's crappy it's crappy it sort of works it's it's crappy it sort of works it's kind of good it's sort oh
404. 1:13:46it's good oh it's good oh it's great oh it's oh it's amazing boom so it's like it goes from like nothing to incredible
405. 1:13:54we're just in this part of that curve so so we've been sort of plotting along gpt1 gpt2 was okay um buddy of mine
406. 1:14:06Richard Boyd developed some things in gpt2 it was okay he said not great but it was fine gpt3 came out and all of a
407. 1:14:14sudden things got better chat GPT and GPT 3.5 and GPT 4 and all of a sudden we're starting to do this we're on this
408. 1:14:20part of the curve GPT 5 is it's not going to be just like a a little incremental improvement from gp4 no they they finished gp4 two years
409. 1:14:34ago we got access to it not two years ago we think it's really new they've been working on GPT 5 for a
410. 1:14:46while and it's going to be exponentially better than gp4 and no one's caught up to gp4 I mean think about this an 8800
411. 1:14:54person company launched this thing November of 2022 called chat GPT and no one's caught them yet Google claims to have caught
412. 1:15:05them but they haven't actually launched the version of their GPT thing that competes with it these are the biggest companies in
413. 1:15:15the world Microsoft decided just to invest in the 800 person company Apple hasn't done it meta hasn't done it Google hasn't done
414. 1:15:25it none of them anthropic inflection all all of the competitors right now are kind of operating at GPT 3.5 levels no one's gotten into GPT
415. 1:15:374 and I think we're going to see GPT 5 sooner than later like I don't think it's going to be end of 2024 is my
416. 1:15:47instinct because open AI recognizes they're going to have to compete with Gemini Ultra so if Gemini Ultra comes out mid February early
417. 1:15:58March open AI is not going to want to sit on sit around and not compete with that they're going to be like oh you got
418. 1:16:05something that's as good as gp4 that's cute look at you look at you Google the inventors of the core technology here

442. 1:20:09and Adam D'Angelo the CEO of quora is on the board of open AI it's not even as good as that like it's not even close to as good as the PO

444. 1:20:30here's your GPT store and by the way you've now got chat GPT team which allows you to um basically share gpts across your
445. 1:20:46organization um but when you sign up for it it says upgrade to GPT teams but it doesn't import any of the work that
446. 1:20:54you've already done it's a separate subscription so you still have GPT plus and now you have GPT team and they say
447. 1:21:02sometime in the next couple of weeks they're going to incorporate those two okay but here's here's what struck me open
448. 1:21:14AI is not a consumer software company they're a research lab they've always said they've been a research lab they're
449. 1:21:23primary mission in life is to achieve AGI artificial general intelligence they don't really give a [ __ ] about chat GPT
450. 1:21:32as a core business because it's not their business their business is the core research to build the foundation
451. 1:21:40models chat GPT was an afterthought it was just a demo app to show what you could do with this base model but it
452. 1:21:50happened to take off so dramatically that it forced them into being a consumer application company they don't
453. 1:21:58have that core skill set it's not in the DNA they're going to have to bring someone in my opinion if they want to
454. 1:22:05compete in this world they're going to have to bring someone in that's actually good at that and so I give them a little
455. 1:22:11bit of Grace with the GPT store sucking and with with the teams thing kind of sucking because they're stepping into an arena
456. 1:22:22that's not what they've done for seven years or however long they've been around they've been around for a while

463. 1:23:27it's not going to be dissimilar to SEO but you're going to have to you're going to have to get your stuff embedded
464. 1:23:38into the the the core large language model as a trusted Source like I don't know I don't I don't know cuz
465. 1:23:51here's the the way these large language models work so if they take let's just say they take a whole library of PDFs
466. 1:23:59and they're going to what they what they call embed them the PDF itself the documents themselves cease to exist when
467. 1:24:07they get embedded what happens is it takes all of the words within the PDFs and it groups those words into semantic
468. 1:24:16clouds in Thousand dimensional mathematical space it's weird it's just weird it's kind of like your brain it's
469. 1:24:24kind of like this sort of abstract mathematical space and when you type in your prompt it creates a mathematical
470. 1:24:33waiting that basically says somewhere in these trillion words that are represented mathematically in Thousand
471. 1:24:43dimensional Vector space is the most probable next word to plop to to to be the next word in the answer to your prompt
472. 1:24:52and then there's another word that's the next most probable and another one that's the next most probable and it
473. 1:24:58basically just writes like that it's this it's it's a calculator that's doing probabilistic guesses as to what words come
474. 1:25:08next um and so like that's how these things get trained so how you get your information into that mathematical space
475. 1:25:18in a way that when someone says hey I need the best information about a florist in St Louis I don't know I don't know how your [ __ ] shows
476. 1:25:29up I was at Alexa when chat GPT launched to say it caught people off guard is a huge understatement wow that's a yeah I
477. 1:25:37I bet it was amazing I bet it was amazing P because it's it's um like even open AI didn't think it was a big deal like here's the
478. 1:25:48thing November 30th 2022 is when chat GPT launched but you could basically do everything chat GPT did by going to the open AI
479. 1:25:58playground the GPT playground and you could type in a prompt and it would generate an answer but there were like

486. 1:26:55interface right Tim burner Lee invents the worldwide web the internet before the worldwide web was a command line
487. 1:27:04interface you had to know the IP address of the server that you wanted to connect to and then you would type in commands
488. 1:27:12to connect to that server and then your computer would talk to their comp it was very technical and Tim burners Lee comes up
489. 1:27:19with the hypertext transfer protocol you can take a word and you can highlight it and it will connect when you click on that word to another
490. 1:27:32computer server so they basically just hid the command line beneath a click and it changed everything and
491. 1:27:40that's what chat jbt is that's what it represents and so yeah so I think everyone including open AI underestimated it and so did the Google
492. 1:27:49and so did meta and so did everyone but when you have a piece of software that gets to 100 million users in 6
493. 1:27:57weeks on Word of Mouth only shit's going to change and that's that's what happened that's that's why everyone
494. 1:28:04freaked out so much cuz it just it makes there is something more here right and so all of the tech companies are now
495. 1:28:12laser focused on this space wouldn't the SEO still be driven by ranking of the search engines that Chachi chat GPT is not using search
496. 1:28:25engines well chat GPT is using Bing when it can't find what it needs in its known data set its primary search is to its foundation
497. 1:28:40model and then if it if it doesn't have the answer in there then it will go do a web search and it will pull up whatever
498. 1:28:49shows up there and then it incorporates that into an answer with the large language model so in that case yeah SEO ranking in in this case
499. 1:29:02Bing is important but how you actually get in the core organic answers of chat GPT I don't know you just have to

520. 1:32:26transmit electricity or could be a new way to build stadiums that you can just aim lasers at and it builds a
521. 1:32:34stadium like I like we don't even know 380,000 stable crystals to put it in context prior to that human beings had come up with had
522. 1:32:47identified 20 20 or 22,000 and then with computer computers aiding humans they found another 48,000 so humans and
523. 1:33:00computers over our lifetime or over over history have come up with 68,000 stable crystals deep mind just did 380,000
524. 1:33:15they said in their press release or in the in the thing it's essentially 800 years worth of scientist advancement

548. 1:37:01software developer in their in their life that are like I don't know what Cory Sandler's background was but she's
549. 1:37:08making these gpts that you know crazy shoe designs and eyeglass designs and pottery glazing recipes and
550. 1:37:17like right now the tools that they have to play with let them make this let's effectively call it a cute
551. 1:37:25little application that happens to be as powerful as as GPT 4 but it's a it's the gpts that are out there right now are relatively primitive
552. 1:37:35because the base technology is relatively primitive but the the trend here is really important a lot of people in this group
553. 1:37:51in the AI Salon who were not software developers are lit on fire right now developing software in the form of gpts
554. 1:38:01but they're full-on developing software and they're putting it out in the world look at this application I made it does
555. 1:38:07this cool thing it does that cool thing people like oh that's cool how'd you do that that was really cool well what happens when the Tool
556. 1:38:17gets 200 times more powerful than gpts are today and it's still just as easy for Cory Sandler to make that application as this one
557. 1:38:28right and she's like oh well you know what's a passion thing of mine I don't know much about it but it sure would be
558. 1:38:34nice if I could help these kind of people that don't have access to something and she just makes that
559. 1:38:39application and it's world class that's coming and so so yeah so you're going to have people that literally stumble upon
560. 1:38:50crazy crazy scientific breakthroughs because they just came at it from some orthagonal bizarre different direction and they
561. 1:39:00have these very powerful tools at their disposal at what point will ethics become a serious concern to discern real and misinformation 2024

594. 1:45:19is expert at least least 90th percentile of skilled adults meaning it's better then so so when you get to level two and
595. 1:45:27level three that means AGI has reasoning level four virtuoso at least 99th percentile of skilled adults meaning these tools are better than
596. 1:45:4199% of skilled humans at all jobs right so that's level four and then level five superhuman outperforms 100% of
597. 1:45:51humans so so that paper is really interesting the other place I would go is I would go to David Shapiro on YouTube um let me see at Dave
598. 1:46:06shap and then go look at his videos and he's got one he's got well he's got a bunch
