14:41 Reddit the Tik Tock video I did on the

14:49 all the views they posted it to Reddit
14:51 and I was looking at the comments and
14:52 Reddit and there was not nearly as much
14:54 hate in Reddit uh as I thought deco here
14:59 threads the needle of what of uh of just
15:03 push a button and art comes
15:05 out yeah but what I would argue with
15:08 Deco here is Deco here makes so much
15:11 work that what you
15:14 curate and and choose to refine that the
15:17 creative act with Deco here is letting
15:21 its massive creation inspire you which
15:24 is kind of an interesting one

16:44 actual good-look people and actual young
16:47 people they see different they see me

16:53 do um I also think that there is a

17:05 X Lorie Blair of all the Black Friday
17:08 stuff going on today the only thing I
17:11 bought was an extra hard drive for my AI
17:13 Creations that is an approved Friday
17:15 purchase I love
17:18 it um I think that there's actually a
17:24 fascinating divide happening where older
17:28 millennials gen xers and younger Boomers
17:31 there's this sort of window of right
17:34 around where I am that are leaning into
17:38 Ai and I my my theory like I don't have
17:41 any data on it just my guess is
17:46 that people that are between kind of
17:49 late 40s to early
17:52 60s were there at the at the beginning
17:54 of the worldwide web right and and also
17:57 we kids when PC came onto the scene
18:00 right so we've seen a couple of
18:02 technological revolutions change the
18:05 world already so I think that there's
18:09 and a lot of the Gen xers that I talked
18:11 to that were around for um the worldwide
18:16 web but didn't take advantage of it like
18:18 didn't aggressively get into it are like
18:21 [ __ ] it I'm not going to miss
18:23 AI um so I think that's going on and
18:26 then I just think a lot of younger
18:28 people are just not into it I don't know
18:30 why I like I don't know I honestly don't
18:33 know I would love to have more young
18:35 people in here um but uh but they just
18:39 ain't they just ain't my friends all
18:42 hate it and they were all 30 and Below
18:45 interesting yeah yeah
18:48 exactly and it's like like the the whole
18:51 purpose of this channel is I frankly
18:55 don't give a [ __ ] if someone hates
18:57 AI after after having used it after
19:01 having tried it but what my experience
19:05 is is people that are pissed off about
19:07 it and really afraid of it aren't using
19:11 it or haven't used it at all they just
19:13 they're they're just on the sidelines
19:15 you know they they heard that it's theft
19:18 and they heard that it's bad and they
19:19 heard that it's evil and they heard that
19:21 it's going to be run by a handful of
19:22 companies and they heard that the robots
19:24 are going to kill us and they're like

19:27 it you guys are [ __ ] for using
19:30 it and you know I just I think that's
19:33 incredibly
19:35 shortsighted I think it's
19:37 stupid I do it's like it's like this
19:40 [ __ ] isn't going
19:41 away it's like [ __ ] learn what it is
19:45 and then and then after you use it after
19:47 you understand what it makes possible
19:49 and what it actually is and how it
19:50 actually works like take the time to
19:52 learn how it actually
19:55 works it is not

23:35 can it not recognize that as a face so

23:44 voices that are actually really
23:47 cute I made cute little animals and then
23:50 I just it was an abject failure because
23:52 I couldn't actually animate them so I
23:54 don't know if anyone knows of any
23:56 animation tools that recognize cartoon
23:59 faces but none of those
24:01 did you don't get enough post likes for
24:04 posting AI young
24:06 people just want

26:23 meetings a month we've been going for
26:25 two years and this coming Tuesday
26:28 December 3rd is our two-year anniversary

27:37 they
27:39 used um Mid Journey tends to be really
27:42 good at
27:44 um just you know very realistic stuff so
27:49 I can grab this
27:50 prompt and I can just pop it in and hit
27:54 return and then it it'll make something
27:57 based on that now it'll be different
27:59 because I've got something called
28:00 personalization turned on but you can
28:03 just put any prompt in and it'll make
28:06 something right and I think I've got
28:08 this set up yeah I've got it set up to
28:10 do portrait image size so that's why
28:13 it's the same aspect ratio but if I
28:16 change this to
28:19 landscape like
28:21 that and I just click on this prompt
28:24 it'll it'll repopulate that thing I can
28:26 just hit return again and now it'll make
28:27 landscape for versions of these
28:39 chandeliers so those are kind of
28:44 cool and then you can also do weird
28:46 things like just increase stylization
28:50 like let me just pop that up to like
28:53 750 and just put the same thing in there
28:56 and hit return and me go in here and
29:00 I'll take stylization down but I'll put
29:02 weirdness up to some high high number
29:06 and I'll just do
29:10 that and now I'll do stylization and
29:13 weirdness high and variety high this
29:16 should give us different four different
29:24 things so without even really like one
29:26 of the ways that I love to that I love
29:29 to play with generative AI tools is just
29:32 don't think about it grab someone else's
29:35 prompt they're there right if if if
29:39 someone wants you to not see their
29:40 prompt they can pay mid Journey extra
29:42 money to hide their
29:44 [ __ ] so everything's out there and then
29:47 in general people can use yours and
29:49 quite frankly
29:51 like with very few exceptions no one's
29:54 writing prompts that are worth you know
29:58 holding tight to the vest put them out
30:00 there because like look how different
30:02 you know just changing a few
30:06 settings how different they are from the
30:10 starting image that I started with let
30:13 me see where it
30:16 is
30:18 here you know I started with that I mean
30:21 that's someone else's image and then
30:23 mine are completely different right like
30:26 these have people in them like that's
30:28 pretty fascinating that looks nothing
30:30 like that other thing is that cheating
30:35 maybe so that's a way to use
30:38 it another way to use it is if you go to
30:42 x hang on my dog wants
30:45 cheese if you go to x and you search
30:50 for
30:55 Sr what is an srf so sref is a style
30:59 reference so if you search for style
31:02 reference see where it's got this number
31:05 right here that's a style reference
31:07 number so if you just go to
31:11 Twitter and type in style
31:14 references you can go ahead and copy
31:17 this
31:19 number and then I can go back to Mid
31:23 journey I can pop in that quote one
31:26 thing I've noticed with style refs is if
31:28 you have stylization and weirdness High
31:31 um it tends to ignore the style
31:32 reference so I always turn those off to
31:35 test the style reference so then you go
31:37 dash dash sref that
31:40 number and now I'm going to make that
31:43 and
31:44 uh oh I didn't put sref in there hang on
31:47 dash d s sref style reference that
31:51 number let me go let the dog out
31:59 you want to go out is that what's going
32:01 on is everybody having fun
32:15 you so look at that that's super
32:18 flipping cool and then we can go back
32:20 over to X and just grab another

33:02 high futin chandelier
33:06 artwork and I started you know I was
33:08 inspired by this from someone
33:11 else and then I came over here and I did
33:14 things that were kind of like that and
33:15 then I did things that were kind of
33:19 different I look at this and I'm like
33:21 huh maybe I want to do a Space Opera
33:24 about planets and maybe this image
33:27 drives me into a completely different
33:30 creative
33:31 direction right and I think I think that
33:34 one of
33:39 the one of the things that makes AI
33:43 creative work
33:45 brilliant is that you can skim like like
33:48 a stone skipping across the water you
33:50 can skim from idea to idea to idea and
33:53 have them really
33:55 fully executed
33:58 can you do it again step by step sure
34:07 absolutely let's go look at what we what
34:09 we got from the new so this so This
34:11 looking feel came
34:14 from this style ref right so someone had
34:18 this this you know this horror slasher
34:23 film aesthetic with these two style
34:26 refs and then I took the you know this
34:29 same exact prompt same exact prompt put
34:33 in those two style reps and now we've
34:34 got this kind of sci-fi
34:37 looking like this is just crazy this is
34:40 like
34:41 surreal it's planetary it's
34:44 architectural but it's not but it's
34:48 Fantastical okay so let me let me start
34:51 from the
34:52 beginning so where we are is we're in
34:55 mid journey and so mid journey.com
35:00 you do have to be a paid subscriber to
35:03 use mid journey in my opinion it's worth
35:05 it 10 bucks a month is the minimum it is
35:08 just higher quality than most
35:12 um than most image generation tools hang
35:15 on I just lost
35:16 my my light and I can't I can't be
35:20 without light
35:22 because you
35:24 know I got to look pretty people I got
35:27 to look pretty I just came from Wicked
35:30 right you know I got to be popular you
35:34 got to be
35:42 popular
35:43 okay so we're in mid Journey I'm on the
35:47 create Tab and in the create tab you can
35:50 just put in anything right you can
35:52 literally put in let's do
35:56 popular you can just put in the word
35:58 popular and see what mid Journey thinks
36:01 of it you know there's there's there's
36:03 all sorts of things that you can do with
36:06 mid Journey where you learn all of the
36:08 different options all of the different
36:11 functions that can be interesting if
36:13 you're geeky and really like flipping
36:16 switches and dials and and being able to
36:19 control as much as you can control you
36:20 can do that but you don't have to you
36:23 can just go in there and pop in popular
36:25 and just let's see what it comes up with
36:33 some crazy ass surreal
36:38 [ __ ] so that's kind of fun now I'm going
36:40 to try something here I'm going to go to
36:42 my personalized Tab and I'm going to
36:44 turn personalization off and I'll show
36:47 you what personalization is in a second
36:48 but I'm going to come back up here to
36:51 create and I'm going to pop in the same
36:53 exact term
36:55 popular we're going to pop that in there
36:58 without personalization turned on and
36:59 see see how different it

1:13:12 me or maybe they say how do you do that
1:13:14 and you make a difference that
1:13:16 way um so so one is to do it personally
1:13:20 but the other one
1:13:22 is
1:13:24 47% of a Americans about four months ago
1:13:28 47% of Americans hadn't even heard of
1:13:32 chat
1:13:33 GPT maybe that's down to 40% now but
1:13:37 that's like four in 10 people have never
1:13:39 even [ __ ] heard of it and so if you
1:13:42 post something like the the little robot
1:13:44 post I did maybe someone sees it it's
1:13:46 like are you an illustrator you're like
1:13:47 no I just used ai ai can do that like
1:13:52 like and then you know maybe someone
1:13:54 because of that you know gets educated
1:13:57 about this stuff and won't be blindsided
1:13:59 in the future so it's a really good

1:15:19 drives really quickly and then there's
1:15:21 going to be tools that come out where
1:15:22 you can run AI models locally right so

1:16:07 beginning of a new
1:16:09 era um while we've had AI for
1:16:13 decades the the birth the launch of chat
1:16:18 GPT is the
1:16:20 first true consumer
1:16:24 access to artificial intelligence and
1:16:27 machine learning for people that are not
1:16:29 programmers and not mathematicians and
1:16:31 not research
1:16:33 scientists like the rest of us get to
1:16:35 play with this [ __ ] now because of that
1:16:38 moment um it is it is an identical
1:16:43 moment to the launch of the worldwide
1:16:45 web in the early
1:16:48 90s where the internet had been around
1:16:51 for decades and it was primarily the
1:16:53 purview of mathematicians and Librarians
1:16:56 and research scientists and
1:16:58 engineers and then Tim burners Lee
1:17:00 creates the worldwide web and just any
1:17:02 old person can learn enough HTML and put
1:17:05 up a website and it
1:17:07 democratizes interconnected computers
1:17:10 right chat GPT does that for
1:17:13 AI
1:17:17 um holy [ __ ] so what so so a thing to
1:17:21 pay attention to
1:17:23 tomorrow is C kie and Silver Fox have
1:17:28 the pink bows up thank you I like
1:17:33 that um it's AI Independence Day it is
1:17:36 it is in a way it's it's an AI birthday

1:17:41 open AI launch something tomorrow they
1:17:43 very well might it's a Saturday it's a
1:17:46 holiday weekend um they might launch
1:17:49 something they might
1:17:51 not so don't get your panties in a bunch

1:18:08 um they're gonna launch what they're

1:18:11 launch it here here's where I am with AI
1:18:16 so the first year after chat GPT came
1:18:19 out everything was new and exciting
1:18:23 every upgrade they did was new exciting
1:18:26 every other company that created a large
1:18:28 language model was new and exciting you
1:18:31 know every image generation tool upgrade
1:18:34 was new and exciting everything was new
1:18:36 and exciting and there were so few of
1:18:38 them relatively speaking that you could
1:18:39 kind of keep track of who were the major
1:18:43 players year two this past year open AI
1:18:48 effectively stopped shipping products
1:18:50 they announced a bunch of [ __ ] that they
1:18:51 just never shipped right we got we got
1:18:55 this time last year we got custom
1:18:59 gpts um and then you know over the
1:19:04 course of the last year we went from gp4
1:19:07 to gp4 Omni um which Omni had the the
1:19:12 way they demoed it it had all these
1:19:14 multimodal capabilities that they never
1:19:16 really
1:19:17 delivered um and we never really
1:19:21 understood what the difference was like
1:19:23 they there when they first showed it it
1:19:26 had like this image gen generation model
1:19:28 that was completely different they they
1:19:31 they announced Sora the video thing that
1:19:33 never launched um they've put out 01
1:19:37 preview which is sort of this weird ass
1:19:40 preview that's not really real and maybe
1:19:42 we get the real 01 tomorrow maybe we
1:19:44 don't
1:19:48 whatever that
1:19:52 said if open AI stop sh Shing today
1:19:56 never shipped another thing there is
1:19:59 more [ __ ] power in chat GPT in Claude
1:20:05 in perplexity in Gemini like all the
1:20:08 flavors of
1:20:10 Gemini in meta in in the open- source
1:20:13 World in all of the image image
1:20:15 generation tools in all the video
1:20:17 generation tools in the music generation
1:20:19 tools in the sound synthesis tools like
1:20:21 11 labs in the Avatar making tools like
1:20:25 hey Jen every single tool out
1:20:30 there is crossing a threshold the past
1:20:33 two years these tools have just been
1:20:36 janky pieces of [ __ ] right janky pieces
1:20:41 of
1:20:43 [ __ ]
1:20:46 and now we live in a
1:20:52 world where without really even typing a
1:20:55 prompt having chat GPT type a
1:20:58 prompt within whatever it was 15
1:21:02 iterations and clicks and little edits
1:21:05 you know like knowing how to use mid
1:21:07 Journey just a little bit like I'm not
1:21:09 good at Mid Journey I'm good at like
1:21:11 little pieces of mid Journey we got to
1:21:14 this every tool out there has got you
1:21:17 know some equivalent of this there's the
1:21:20 the language equivalent of this there's
1:21:22 the um
1:21:25 there's the the the music equivalent of
1:21:27 this there's the programming equivalent
1:21:29 of this there's the animation equivalent
1:21:32 of
1:21:34 this
1:21:39 so and and then on top of
1:21:45 that half of half of our country and
1:21:48 probably more than half of the world
1:21:51 don't even know this [ __ ]
1:21:53 exists I find that
1:21:57 mindboggling I find it
1:22:00 mindboggling that there's an active
1:22:02 resistance to this and yet every time in
1:22:06 in the history of humanity that there's
1:22:08 been a major technological
1:22:11 innovation it is feared and

1:23:45 that so I go I go live on these things
1:23:47 five nights a week for like two hours a
1:23:51 night and there's a whole posy there's a
1:23:54 a whole community of people that just
1:23:56 show up here every
1:23:58 night and you're
1:24:02 like I would be surprised if I if I were
1:24:05 you that you you're not like well that's
1:24:07 [ __ ] weird I agree doesn't make any
1:24:10 sense that's why we call them the
1:24:12 Irregulars chances are we're also
1:24:17 dateless yeah if you don't have a hot

1:24:23 you're way more advanced an AI than you

1:24:52 normalize the remarkable

1:25:02 shitty reasoning engine wait we have a

1:25:07 engine we have a tool in chat GPT right
1:25:11 now that's got like 120
1:25:14 IQ that can do multi-step reasoning we
1:25:17 all have that right now that we could go
1:25:19 play with how much have you played with
1:25:21 it I haven't played with it very much I
1:25:24 don't know what the [ __ ] ask
1:25:26 it that's
1:25:28 remarkable and then the and then you
1:25:30 know the the the tech nerds and the and
1:25:34 you know the the doomers are are just
1:25:37 like oh it's crappy it's not great it's
1:25:38 not this but I'm
1:25:40 sorry we have a 120 IQ multi-step
1:25:44 reasoning engine at our
1:25:48 disposal right now like that's [ __ ]
1:25:50 remarkable so I'd say stay in touch with
1:25:53 the how lucky we are so that's that
1:25:58 now I think the next three months and it
1:26:03 it might be six three to six months

1:26:07 little we're going to start to see some
1:26:10 truly remarkable things where we're
1:26:12 going to see a reasoning engine that is
1:26:16 significantly better than 01 preview and
1:26:19 is multimodal it can take video input
1:26:21 and it can potentially take audio input
1:26:24 and it's going to be connected to the
1:26:26 internet and then in January we're going
1:26:28 to get a thing called
1:26:31 operators which are agents which will
1:26:35 take action on our behalf so in the next
1:26:37 three to six
1:26:39 months the core capabilities that we
1:26:42 have access to are going to get a
1:26:44 massive
1:26:46 upgrade we're not going to know what to
1:26:48 do with
1:26:51 them like why I keep going live two
1:26:54 years years into
1:26:57 this is we've probably got another three
1:27:00 to five years of just rolling
1:27:04 Innovations and if you're
1:27:08 playing if you're exploring AI if you're
1:27:11 making robot images and sharing them on
1:27:16 X the amount of opportunity you're going
1:27:18 to have is going to be
1:27:21 insane and for all those people like
1:27:23 oceans that's just like I don't want to
1:27:25 hear about AI anymore at some point
1:27:28 they're going to want to hear about AI
1:27:29 because it's going to affect their life
