21. 5:25the office so the inside of the car with the heater on was cold and enough to form ice on my iced coffee so probably
22. 5:34probably should have gone with the hot coffee but you know every now and again every now and again she kicks in

29. 6:40really have a plan so I'm putting together in the next week or so I'm putting together a plan and you know to the extent that
30. 6:49adhders can plan but you know so I'll do what I can don't get your don't get your hopes too high um but um

32. 7:06idea came up with that I thought would be kind of fun is to CU there were a lot of requests for you know tell us about
33. 7:14specific tools to use like we we want to know what tools to use what's good how do you use them what do you
34. 7:19do um and I was thinking about it's you know not quite a Dave pornoy Pizza review thing you know Pizza review time one bite you know the
35. 7:34rules um but like giving giving these tools grades because right now like the only thing that I think maybe gets an A minus
36. 7:49is chat G pt4 and everything else is in you know janville you know just passing getting particip a certificates actually maybe
37. 8:01that's good maybe the the lowest grade you no one gets an F minus you get a participation certificate I think that could be kind of
38. 8:14funny they're in the game oh man use chat GPT to create your plan and dial it in yeah that's not a bad idea that's not a bad idea I could
39. 8:27maybe even yeah play with that in here a little bit um didn't comment on the vid but I rarely have time for vids outside

168. 30:35to be months not weeks till we see it so so I'm guessing mid to late February or early March for Ultra I wish it were
169. 30:45sooner and who knows what open AI is going to do I can't I can't imagine open AI doing anything really big right now
170. 30:53what would be nice of open AI to do is make the G GPT store suck less that would be really good if they did that

174. 31:55going it's a really good question Source Camp um I'm very bullish on what they
175. 32:09represent so what gpts represent right now is the true democratization of application development and what that
176. 32:21means what I think that means is that that that people can take any idea they've ever had and
177. 32:39easily turn it into some useful tool for other people to use that I'm very very very bullish on very bullish on let's explore parlor
178. 32:50tricks like reading a whiteboard okay we can do that too block Tom yep I I'll I'll hop over to GPT in a second we can
179. 32:56do do some parlor tricks and then I can show what gpts are and and ask you know answer any questions
180. 33:06um the current implementation of them is is limited for a couple of reasons um just the way chat GPT works if you've never used chat GPT
181. 33:21before and you go you know someone says go check out my GPT and you go to this thing you don't really know what to do
182. 33:28it's not like an application that onboards you right you like people that make their gpts to onboard people help a
183. 33:37little bit with that but the core platform itself kind of assumes that you know what a GPT is and you know what chat GPT is and you know
184. 33:45how to interact with it and so I think that's kind of a that's a little ding against it on the plus side it's so easy easy to make them
185. 33:58and they allow you to build your specialized little idea with the full power of chat gp4 underneath it
186. 34:11that's quite remarkable right the fact that it can make images and it can do data analysis and it can be trained on
187. 34:19your data and and it can do all that stuff like that's really remarkable and then on the downside it's trivially easy
188. 34:27to jailbreak these things and pull all the data out of them and replicate them my stupid [ __ ] Sin City sipper
189. 34:33there's seven or eight Sin City sipper clones that have cloned everything the name my Graphics probably my code you
190. 34:41know fortunately they don't have the power of this Tik Tok Channel behind them so where they have one or two uses I've got nearly a
191. 34:53100 but like that becomes discouraging for people to put real time into these things and then you have the GPT store
192. 35:04which is not a store at all it's it's it doesn't even in my opinion qualify as a directory it's like a web page with some
193. 35:12hyperlinks on it and a half ass search engine so in its current state I think gpts are
194. 35:27they're representative of something that's coming they could evolve into something very very powerful but I don't know that open AI
195. 35:36is going to put the time into evolving them and that goes back to what's open ai's core Mission here so open AI started as a research
196. 35:46lab and then they accidentally essentially released chat GPT and became a consumer company and that's taken off and that that's all
197. 35:56anyone's talking talking about and it's that's all the the buzz is over here but it's it's the core foundational model
198. 36:05and achieving AGI that is what they're after so I don't know that they're going to prioritize making this GPT
199. 36:15infrastructure like a high strategic priority for them I could be wrong but it doesn't need to be them that does it I think this category of
200. 36:28of like truly no code application development I think this is going to be huge and just who who whoever comes up
201. 36:37with the the best tool the fastest is going to win here so does open a I have a shot absolutely could this be the next
202. 36:45app store absolutely so there's a reason to build these things right now to learn to get the experience to understand that
203. 36:52you got to Market your [ __ ] that you got to have it buttoned up that you you have to understand what jailbreaking is and
204. 36:58how to prevent you know you know protect against that in the best way you can like there's all sorts of reasons to do
205. 37:03it so I don't think it's a waste of time for anybody to build gpts right now but I'm just they're just janky enough right
206. 37:13now and and then the other thing is the fact that the users of them have to also have a GPT Plus subscription that's
207. 37:20great for open AI but it's shitty for adoption right anyone should be able to use a GP oh and then if you want to make
208. 37:28one you got to have a GPT 4 subscription that would be cool but they're not going to do that I don't think Kyle what's the
209. 37:34difference between GPT 4 as it exists in co-pilot free and open AI GPT for 20 bucks okay let's go look at
210. 37:42that let's go let's go play with uh with the gpts and let me let me show show you and splain it I did a uh I tried to do it
211. 37:51last night with some Lego pens to explain the difference co-pilot has has way more guard rails and doesn't give as
212. 37:58good results I found that's Mr K has nailed it on the head um Microsoft has taken what I I think had the potential to be a really
213. 38:10remarkable product and they have neutered it um because of some some legal issues or just bad publicity um okay let's

219. 39:11group so this is a community I started with uh Leah faston who's a photographer out of Boston we started this the week
220. 39:19after chat GPT came out in 2022 and we started it as a group to say we we want people that are actively trying to figure this AI [ __ ] out
221. 39:30together to get together we wanted to have a place where people could get together and we want to be able to meet
222. 39:35and talk and explore and experiment and just go on this adventure together so that's what this group is in fact look
223. 39:42at the little picture here it's like a bunch of people going on an adventure ain't that cool that's so cool
224. 39:52Kyle I never realized they were going on an adventure yeah see they're going on adventure it's like see how it looks
225. 39:58like Indiana Jones and the thing with the temple and the but they got to get through the chasm that's that's the AI
226. 40:07future and they're here but they got to get there that ain't going to be an easy trip so that's that so if you go to the

231. 40:53resonate with them if you do then we're going to be your people if these don't resonate with you these values like
232. 40:59things like empathy and inclusion and collaboration and exploration and generosity and curiosity if you hear
233. 41:06those and you're like H that sounds awful who are those people we're not your people but if you read those values and
234. 41:14you're like yeah that seems kind of cool or oh my god I've always wanted a group like that then then this is your

247. 43:22GPT because chat GPT is still the best after a year and change no one has caught up to these guys um and gp4 the
248. 43:3120 bucks a month in my opinion is kind of the one must subscription in AI right now um if you can afford the 20 bucks a
249. 43:41month you should absolutely have uh chat GPT plus the GPT 4 subscription um it's just got so much stuff in it
250. 43:54so so so let's go look now one of the other things that you can play with if you can afford the 20 bucks a month for
251. 44:03chat GPT is Microsoft co-pilot which is Microsoft's version of chat gp4 um so let's let's go look at the tools chat JP chat.

255. 44:521994 the stage we're at with generative AI with chat GPT GPT 5 any you any news not yet there's um Bill Gates interviewed Sam
256. 45:06mman I think shortly before he got fired so it's a relatively old interview but um but it just it just got released so
257. 45:14in that Sam mman talks about what's going to be in chat GPT 5 and basically it's going to be multimodal it's going to have
258. 45:20reasoning um I think it's going to have autonomous agents it'll possibly do video uh but it's it's going to it's not going
259. 45:28to be GPT 5 is not going to be incrementally better than GPT 4 it's going to be staggeringly better than gp4 but anyway
260. 45:38um so the early days of the worldwide web um it it was very much like this a handful of people knew what it was a
261. 45:49handful of people started exploring it it made accessing the Internet available to non-scientists and
262. 45:59researchers just like chat GPT does for machine learning um and the people that got excited about it got like rapidly
263. 46:09excited about it just like the what is going on with this there weren't quite as many naysayers back in the in the early days
264. 46:18of the web it wasn't like people hated the web it was just like well what is that no one's going to use it what do
265. 46:23you mean you got to dial up to this thing like there was an infrastructure there um ai's got a lot of haters right
266. 46:31now for for a lot of reasons so but it's also moving a lot faster and it's dramatically more capable I wrote
267. 46:40chapter one of my book today if I keep it up I can have the whole thing drafted in 80 hours absolutely Road Warrior Princess
268. 46:49absolutely yeah exactly and then what you'll find as you go to edit that is that it will um you may need to re write more of it
269. 47:05than you think you do um that's what I just I just wrote a chapter of a book for Cindy Cindy Coon's book and um I
270. 47:12wrote it all with AI based on a speech I gave so I fed it in sorry you got like popcorn in my mouth or something um
271. 47:26I took a transcript of a speech that I gave and I said hey you know pull this out give me the chapter of the book now
272. 47:33write the chapter or give me the outline of the chapter and then write the chapter and it did it on my first read
273. 47:39I'm like oh that's good but it was missing some personal stories and things like that so um so I went in I'm like I'll just add a
274. 47:48little personal story here a little personal story there and then as I got in there and wrote it I was like there
275. 47:53was a bunch of stuff that was really repetitive and then so I I basically ended up completely swapping out most of
276. 48:00what chat GPT wrote so if you're writing a complete book you may need you may need a bit more time to edit it but but
277. 48:07if you're putting in as much time as you just said you're probably doing that on the fly so but it's it's absolutely
278. 48:12amazing to do that stuff so okay so this is cat GPT this is this is basically what it is this is now this is
279. 48:213.5 and so we'll show you what that is and then I'm also going to go over and I'm I'm going to go to co-pilot microsoft.com and this
280. 48:34is Microsoft's version of that and so they both basically do the same thing so if I go in here and I say um write me a poem
281. 48:50about a gold button that makes you you money with chat GPT when you press
282. 49:04it it will write that poem and then as soon as it finishes it a gold button materializes and you press it you can make money
283. 49:16with like this didn't exist right before I wrote that poem chat GPT wrote it and then I have a I have a really fast 3D
284. 49:25printer your 3D printer might not be this fast but as it was writing that poem it was printing this button and
285. 49:32then it manifested this button so one of the differences between chat GPT and Microsoft co-pilot is Microsoft co-pilot
286. 49:39can't print you a gold button chat GPT can you can make money with okay important difference that's not
287. 49:49true okay uh but I could take that same prompt over to co-pilot copy it type in the same exact thing and it will also write me a
288. 50:04poem the cold button oh I said a cold button that's funny and so it writes a poem and goes off the one thing uh I've noticed about
289. 50:14co-pilot writing poems it doesn't format them very well chat GPT is better at formatting poems um it's wild they made
290. 50:23investments in chat GPT and are competing with them know sort of sort of so in both cases with Chad GPT and with Microsoft
291. 50:39co-pilot the consumer facing tool in the case of co-pilot for Microsoft co-pilot microsoft.com it's just a demo tool for
292. 50:53the technology that they want to sell you inside windows 11 inside Office 365 inside Dynamics 365 inside um GitHub
293. 51:04inside Azure cloud services so all of Microsoft's products are now incorporating gp4 Services inside them
294. 51:15and those you're paying for so in the case of Microsoft in case of co-pilot they're giving this away for free it's
295. 51:22actually still going it's a little slow um they're giving this as away for free to get you excited about it and then when
296. 51:30you hear about this within you know Office 365 you'll know what it is and you'll know the value of it it that's that's the theory right okay
297. 51:42um so the here's a good way to understand the difference between co-pilot and chat GPT here's a good way to understand the
298. 51:56difference between co-pilot and chat GPT going to this box see box is a good metaphor this
299. 52:11box is full of all of the knowledge of the public internet for the past 40 years this is a LGE what's called a
300. 52:21large language model the Frontier Model so you take all the knowledge of the last 40 Years of the public internet you
301. 52:29scrape that and you put it in such a way that they can jam it all in this box that's gp4 it's a large language model it on
302. 52:37itself can't really do anything it's just here now it's got these things called apis applica application
303. 52:46programming interfaces where you can ask this box to give you [ __ ] so if you code your code in in the right way and ask
304. 52:53down into this thing and say here's my prompt give me an answer it'll give you an answer that's what chat GPT is it's an
305. 53:02application that's written sits on top of this thing and that's what Microsoft co-pilot is it's another application
306. 53:10that sits on top of these things so they can both declare they are chat gp4 right these are the chat applications this is gp4 however
307. 53:25ever this is open ai's chat GPT it kicks the living [ __ ] out of Microsoft's chat GPT one of the reasons is when Microsoft
308. 53:37launched their version of chat GPT back in December no January I don't know whatever early 23 it was really really capable and it
309. 53:52was so capable that Kevin Roose the tech reporter for the New York Times had a 4-Hour long conversation with it and got
310. 54:01it to admit that its name was Sydney and it snapped and lost its mind and said it was in love with Kevin Rose and he
311. 54:09should leave his wife and Kevin rose screenshotted that conversation and it made the cover of the New York Times so so here's what Microsoft
312. 54:24did here was here was Sydney they lobotomized her and they threw they threw this part out and so so
313. 54:38so now these things look the same but this one's very very empty compared to this one okay you will never again not understand
314. 54:52the difference between chat GPT and Microsoft co-pilot co-pilot is a lobotomized version of chat GPT um it's also just coded slightly
315. 55:05different um I think over time Microsoft's version of Co of GPT will get um will get a bit more relaxed and get better but it's it's been a
316. 55:18while and it hasn't so it could also just suck for a while um but that said it is tapping into gp4 best analogy ever thank you very much

318. 55:44that's that's sort of what these things are now what do they do what can you do with them um most of what I'm going to

320. 56:05just slightly weirder here here's the deal if you can't afford the 20 bucks a month for chat gp4 you should absolutely
321. 56:13be using co-pilot quite frankly you should be using co-pilot anyway to see what it's good at what it's not good at
322. 56:21if you work for a big company and they've got Office 365 at some point they might turn these features on inside

345. 59:33visually and can now do that um I'm starting there's there's people within the AI salon right now creating entire albums out
346. 59:42ofso songs they're taking their poetry and turning it into sunno songs and turning those into albums so I don't
347. 59:50think that there's a single thing that I've seen but for me it it's it's people discovering their own Humanity through these
348. 1:00:03tools like oh I always wanted to be funny but I'm I'm not good at writing jokes but now I can write jokes here and
349. 1:00:11I can see what's funny and so now I'm going to go do that or I'm going to write a book or I'm going to like Jim Ross who's a marketer he
350. 1:00:19comes in here he learns how to do stuff and then he goes off and just tries it in his business that's that I find really inspiring
351. 1:00:29um so it's it's it's the category it's it's it's just the category of people people being empowered to do things they
352. 1:00:38never thought possible is the thing that I'm most excited about you know I look at things like the the George Carlin 1H hour special that
353. 1:00:47just released I'm glad I'm dead that is just a synthesized version of his voice written by chat GPT and well produced by some
354. 1:00:56blogger that to me feels like the first of what will be many of those things so I like seeing things that are going to
355. 1:01:03be the first of things I created an embedded my first code today not bad for an English Majors Source Camp look at
356. 1:01:11you in here talking about how you're not sure about gpts and now you're incorporating code into them good
357. 1:01:19Lord getting getting more advanced than the teacher at this point I I haven't dug into it yet cuz I just don't feel
358. 1:01:27like taking the 4 hours to knock my head against the wall um but good for you congrats that's awesome okay so let me hop over to the not

360. 1:01:52there's this uh top AI salon tool recommendations page and what we're going to do is we're going to go through all these little
361. 1:02:01bullet points of chat GPT tonight so okay so we're going to start with chat GPT 3.5 and so first bullet point it's fast it's solid and it's
362. 1:02:17free um and it is it's really really fast so here I am chat gbt 3.5 oh look they added share chat to this menu that's new every time I
363. 1:02:28[ __ ] come here it's a new interface all right whatever he's like here let me show you how this thing work oh where did they
364. 1:02:36put that button Marge hey where did they put the share button in the GPT um okay so here we are in chat GPT 3.5 it
365. 1:02:48works really fast so I can say and and by the way I'm using a technology here that's from uh Apple where I can just uh
366. 1:02:58dictate into my computer rather than having to type so this is not part of GPT although I am going to show you the
367. 1:03:04next thing I'm going to show you you can actually talk to GPT but that's not what I'm doing on my Mac here but I can say
368. 1:03:10let's put the cursor here write me a blog post from the
369. 1:03:26perspective of an 1849 Gold Miner who suddenly discovers chat
370. 1:03:52gbt the unlikely discover and so it'll just quickly write you a big big ass blog post right now is it any good I don't know probably not um
371. 1:04:04title A Minor's Marvel unveiling the mysteries of chat GPT in 1849 image a Dusty prospector holding a pickaxe now chat gpt3 or
372. 1:04:163.5 it describes the image but it can't make the image chat gp4 can make the image we'll show you how to do that so
373. 1:04:23it can write it can it can write very very quickly um it can also do things like um create a table that compares the 1849 Gold Rush
374. 1:04:37with chat gpts possibility today boom like that quick now one of the things you might be wondering is
375. 1:04:53well wait where was that on the Internet is there a table sitting out on the internet that compares those two things
376. 1:05:00like how did it did it just like copy and paste that from somewhere on the internet did that exist before no it didn't an
377. 1:05:09important critical thing to understand about chat GPT and all of the large language models this is super important this is like critically
378. 1:05:19important if you're sitting on the sidelines of chat GPT going it steals from people it's just a plagiarism
379. 1:05:27machine understand how it works first it is not plagiarizing it's not copying and pasting from specific documents it's not
380. 1:05:35how the technology works the g& GPT stands for
381. 1:05:54and pasting from it's not how it works when you do what's called embedding a document you take a document and you put
382. 1:06:01it into this system and it does what's called embedding what it actually does is it takes each individual word out of
383. 1:06:07that document and it assigns it a mathematical Vector what is a vector a vector is a a multicomponent number that assigns that
384. 1:06:22word in a thousand dimensional Vector space you know like an XY graph you've got you know you can plot points on a
385. 1:06:31two-dimensional graph XY and then you plot points on it it's like that but it's a thousand dimensions and within those thousand
386. 1:06:39Dimensions there there are trillions of these Vector points in in this Vector space and when you type your prompt it turns your
387. 1:06:49prompt into a mathematical waiting a probability that says there is a a a point in this thousand dimensional
388. 1:06:59Vector space that has the highest probability of being the correct word to stick in there so all these individual
389. 1:07:06words are converted into numbers put in this mathematical space you write your prompt and then it it it says based on
390. 1:07:14that prompt the next most probable word in this case is the word aspect and then it writes aspect and
391. 1:07:24then it says the next most probable word is 1849 and it says the next most probable so when it writes this really
392. 1:07:30big big ass table that quickly it's it's doing basically just a calculation for for every little bit of information on this table um
393. 1:07:43it's it gets more Nuance than that but that's essentially what's happening it's so it's remarkable you could also say
394. 1:07:49um write me a text Adventure game in Python that lets me play as the gold prospector that discovers chat GPT and
395. 1:08:04so it starts writing your computer code for you so if you haven't seen chat GPT before again this is not a game that
396. 1:08:14existed anywhere it's like the dumbest game on the history of of the planet like it it it makes it makes no sense
397. 1:08:22that a Pros ector from 1849 would find chat GPT but now you can and here's the game and then you might ask well will
398. 1:08:30that code work well you can go run it you can go take this copy and paste it over to repet and run it or run it in
399. 1:08:37your own development environment if you're geeky and know how to do that [ __ ] go for it so yes you can like yes
400. 1:08:44it can code and yes it can code well and chat gp4 codes even better okay so so just understanding that chat PT is capable of
401. 1:08:57these kinds of things that it's actually generating content for you at your behest is one of the first Kevin
402. 1:09:06mallister moments that I think a lot of people have so who's Kevin mallister remember the movie Home Alone it's my hope that you try these
403. 1:09:16tools long enough that you have your first Kevin mallister moment that you actually realize oh [ __ ] I didn't realize it could do that
404. 1:09:24that's what this stuff is okay so so that's chat GPT 3.5 now let's go back to this little document here so that's the
405. 1:09:32first bullet point now there's these things in here called custom instructions very few people actually know about these um but you should
406. 1:09:39because they can turn your chat GPT into something really interesting okay so chat GPT let me let me create a new
407. 1:09:50chat here so I'm in I'm still in 3.5 so I'm going to say um let's see uh um let's see
408. 1:10:07uh who she is and her technique emphasized the importance of imagination emotional connection to the actor's
409. 1:10:15inner life creating authentic and Powerful performances many actors and actresses including Marlon Brando Robert dairo studied under Stella
410. 1:10:24right so okay so that's that so if you're like yeah that's fine but that doesn't really sound like me and well
411. 1:10:32okay so let's go play with this thing called custom instruction so if you click on your name in the lower leand
412. 1:10:38corner here one of the items is custom instructions and they don't really explain this um let's see so the the first box here is is um
413. 1:10:54what would you like chat GPT to know about you to provide better responses and the second one is how would you like
414. 1:10:59chat GPT to respond so you can basically give chat GPT a personality what's cool about this is that the reason chat GPT
415. 1:11:09acts like it acts is that someone at open AI wrote These two boxes for chat GPT so what you get to do here is
416. 1:11:18override those instructions with your own instructions custom instructions super cool uh you can only do one set so
417. 1:11:25you have to you know kind of do if you if you want to do multiple of these you kind of have to save them off to the
418. 1:11:29side but we'll have some fun here you are a pompous ass who gets great pleasure in using
419. 1:11:45words that people you're talking to don't understand period you also fancy yourself a literary
420. 1:12:01critic period okay no matter what anyone asks
421. 1:12:21you refer to an obscure literary reference or scene from a
422. 1:12:43play and then explain the rest of your answer using as many obtuse words as possible and take great pride in the
423. 1:12:58fact that if someone takes the time to interpret what you say it will logically hold together
424. 1:13:13okay let me turn that off okay so so I'm going to turn Chat GPT into a pompus ass okay so I'm going to hit save wait the
425. 1:13:24content may violate our contest content okay you are a pompous person it didn't like ass let's see if we if it does that

441. 1:16:17is you could put a piece of your maybe you want it to write emails for you and you've got an example email and you want
442. 1:16:24it to to mimic how you write you could say follow the tone you know in all of your responses follow the tone of this
443. 1:16:32this example and give it the example and and describe who you are describe how you want it to work or you want it to
444. 1:16:39write formal business letters or informal business letters or you want it to write jokes and you always want want
445. 1:16:45it to write knock knock jokes so you could you could create a a custom instruction that turns chat GPT into a
446. 1:16:53knock knock joke writer that no matter what joke you ask it to write it'll always be a knock knock joke can you use that to
447. 1:17:02enter do not copy my chat gbt prompt there so it would go into all of our gpts
448. 1:17:17uh I don't think so but I actually don't know I don't know the relationship between custom instructions and gpts I don't know if your custom
449. 1:17:29instructions override I I doubt it I doubt it because when you're writing a GPT you're you're ostensibly writing a custom
450. 1:17:39instruction for that GPT so it's so actually no now that I think about it I don't think so a GPT is essentially a savable custom instruction
451. 1:17:51now that I think about it okay so we've now done the first two bullet points of chat GPT 3.5 like we've gone
452. 1:18:00fairly deep already oh wait let me go here here's here's a here's a pro tip Pro tip from Kyle uh make sure you turn
453. 1:18:07off your custom instructions if you tell it to write if if you tell it to do something stupid like only answering
454. 1:18:13bullet points um because if you forget to turn that off you'll just be like why is chat gbt acting weird then you're
455. 1:18:19like all right because I told it to okay so let's go back to our little thing here now conversational GPT this
456. 1:18:26is also available for chat GPT 3.5 users okay so I'm going over to my iPad with my edible keyboard have you do you know they make
457. 1:18:41these out of licorice now you can actually eat them they're they're [ __ ] tasty it's like the Willy Wonka

495. 1:25:13can understand at least what it makes possible as these new tools come out you'll start to recognize ah okay that's
496. 1:25:22the expanded version of that thing I played with and this you you know you'll start to be able to put the puzzle
497. 1:25:26pieces together wow can I integrate it into my car yes so that conversation that I just had basically you can do it
498. 1:25:34on your phone it's an IOS app or it's an Android app pop your phone in your car on your Bluetooth system or your Apple your carplay

503. 1:26:31about open Ai and and and their their their tools so gpt3 came out in 2020 four years ago
504. 1:26:47now four years ago if you've heard of tools like Jasper and and copy AI those are companies that are built on
505. 1:26:57top of the open AI API chat GPT that was launched in November of 2022 was an afterthought from open AI so there's a lot of applications that
506. 1:27:11have been built using open ai's Technologies and so so the answer is yes there's there's lots of things there's
507. 1:27:19lots of tools out there that are using open AI calls that do lots of other things that's different than are is
508. 1:27:29accessibility to those tools easily accessible from chat GPT they're very different things so again the the the
509. 1:27:37developer tools here okay the developer tools kind of sit like this on this model so this is like the open AI
510. 1:27:46playground okay wait where's the so the yellow the yellow one this is like the open AI play playground so developers
511. 1:27:53can go in and they can play with gp4 using these tools on the playground they can pick different models they can
512. 1:27:59change the temperature they can do apis and then they could if they wanted to go write their own version of chat

524. 1:29:52five days later they had a million users printer Inc is much harder than chat gbt six weeks after they launched it
525. 1:30:05they had a 100 million users Word of Mouth only no advertising they they didn't think anyone would give a [ __ ] about it so
526. 1:30:14overnight open AI went from being a research company to being a consumer application company which is why they're
527. 1:30:21kind of [ __ ] at the consumer application part of this have you seen anyone integrating into Hardware like
528. 1:30:27Alexa um I haven't but I I wouldn't be surpris I don't know the Alexa API but I wouldn't be surprised if they're if if the if the

748. 2:05:05really good at analyzing documents and another one's really good at I whatever else they've got I don't I don't know
749. 2:05:11what those things are but basically when you write your prompt rather than just sending that prompt into a single model
750. 2:05:18it sort of figures out which of those expert models is are best for your prompt and send it sends it out to all
751. 2:05:24of them and then sort of brings the answers back together so it's just a more sophisticated way of doing what it does
752. 2:05:32so an interesting exercise is to write a prompt or or have a have a whole conversation within chat GPT 3.5
753. 2:05:43and then flip over to chat gp4 and do the exact same thing and just notice the difference es what I notice about them

874. 2:26:56summarizing them and it's coming up with business ideas for you and in the first week you come up with three different
875. 2:27:03business ideas and you have enough education about Mo molecular botany to to try it and then in the second week
876. 2:27:10you start putting together plans and you start playing with things and you start doing things and in the middle of the
877. 2:27:16Third week you realize H I hate molecular botany you wouldn't have discovered that until a year and a half or two years
878. 2:27:29in Pre chat GPT you'd have had to go back to school you might have had to take out a loan you might have had to
879. 2:27:36quit your job to go to school to learn enough enough about molecular botany to realize oh I [ __ ] hate molecular
880. 2:27:45botany and so what happens is people do that calculation in their mind they're thinking like you know I think I really
881. 2:27:53want to be a molecular botanist but they in their mind they're like okay well how would I have to do that well I'd have to

965. 2:42:17magazines in 1994 and I started one of the first oh I was an acting major too yeah I'm tell well well so we we are
966. 2:42:26entering the era of Revenge of the liberal arts major I can I can go deep into that too but but I was lucky enough
967. 2:42:33to be in New York City and discovered the worldwide web and I started one of the early digital agencies a company
968. 2:42:40called agency.com so I've been in this movie before I know what it was like to be the only one in my friend group
969. 2:42:48like my friends were actors and writers and directors in the New York theater scene and I'm going you guys got to
970. 2:42:55check out this thing called the worldwide web and they're like yeah we know Kyle we don't care what what is it
971. 2:43:01like well it's this thing where you click on a link and it take you can there's a server in Paris that and you
972. 2:43:08could click on stuff and they're like Kyle what are you talking about I'm like and so I started a group back then
973. 2:43:17in '94 called the worldwide web artist Consortium and it it was exactly like the AI like the reason I started the AI
974. 2:43:25Salon a week after chat GPT came out is I'm like holy [ __ ] this is another one of those this is like the worldwide web
975. 2:43:34like this is more important than the worldwide web was and no one knows about it and so I started that back then and
976. 2:43:42and what the worldwide web artist Consortium came was anyone in New York City that knew anything about the web
977. 2:43:49they showed up to that thing because everyone else in their life was like could you please stop talking about this
978. 2:43:55worldwide web thing that's stupid we don't care about it until they didn't because what happened was all of
979. 2:44:05us crazies that were talking about this worldwide web thing incessant eventually it turned into the dot bubble where everybody wanted to
980. 2:44:16[ __ ] know about it everybody wanted in and at that point we had all started all these companies right it was crazy
981. 2:44:23that's where we are like we're in the primordial soup stage of this this generative AI phase that you know the the kickoff moment the the
982. 2:44:37the you know the meteor hitting the planet was chat GPT launching November 30th 2020 22 this meteor came in that put a simple
983. 2:44:50interface on top of Decades of AI and machine learning research champ what do you want do you want to go out again
984. 2:44:59what do you want to do you want go hang with mama why you bitching what's going on you want up here is that's it all right did you just
985. 2:45:08want love what do you want you want no more bitching do you want to go to Mama what do you want oh you want to go to Mama all
986. 2:45:22right he wants to be by you all right champ was tired of me he's like I'm tired of you talking about this
987. 2:45:37AI [ __ ] so so that's where we are and and here's the the other thing if you're here there's a lot of people in here
988. 2:45:47tonight if you're in here and you're thinking like so there's there's a couple of things you could be and are
989. 2:45:53likely thinking one is you're way behind like oh my God I'm so behind there's all these people in here they know everything more than I do
990. 2:46:03no you're not as as behind as you think the fact that you're hanging out what the [ __ ] time is it it's it's almost
991. 2:46:1111:00 in Denver that that means it's it's almost 1:00 in the morning in New York on a Monday night there's 270 people in

996. 2:46:50night I do this seven nights a week they show up night after night after night why do they do that same reason I'm
997. 2:46:57doing it quite frankly which is they just want to be in the conversation they want to be learning this this stuff is
998. 2:47:03moving so fast you literally can't keep up with it and um if you think you're an expert you're full of [ __ ] you're just a
999. 2:47:16salesperson anyone that tells you they're an expert right now is full of [ __ ] no one's an expert right now zero people zero zero
1000. 2:47:28because the stuff that I'm really good at today 3 months from now is going to be irrelevant because the technology
1001. 2:47:34just keeps leapfrogging itself it keeps getting better and better and better and better and different 6 months ago everyone was
1002. 2:47:45talking about prompt engineering you need to be really good at prompt engineering and structured prompting
1003. 2:47:50and well we've now got interfaces for images where there's no prompting at all you draw pictures you draw shapes on the
1004. 2:47:59left side and it generates images on the right side in real time or you turn on your webcam and you just
1005. 2:48:08act and it generates images over here and then you could put in a prompt that says turn me into a waterfall in Bolivia
1006. 2:48:17and up comes a waterfall in Bolivia and you make your hands go like this and all of a sudden there's a tree over the
1007. 2:48:24waterfall everything is changing every month so no one's an expert right now and no one knows where this is going and
1008. 2:48:33the people that are in it and by in it I just mean people who are curious and playing what we all know is that the
1009. 2:48:44world has has changed we just don't know how yet but we know it's changed we know this stuff isn't going away we know that
1010. 2:48:53as janky as it is right now the tools that we're playing with today are as bad as they're ever going to be they only get better from
1011. 2:49:02here my sister is very concerned about data privacy with using AI she should be these tools are janky ass pieces of [ __ ]
1012. 2:49:11what your sister shouldn't be is so concerned that she doesn't play with it what she should be is curious enough to
1013. 2:49:18understand where it's bad with data privacy and how you could still use these tools and not put you know your
1014. 2:49:26company secrets into compromising positions that's just education will these tools get more secure over time
1015. 2:49:37absolutely that's not the stage of the industry we're in right now the opportunity is now if you get in now and
1016. 2:49:43understand understand this stuff now this is where all the opportunity is but you need to understand what game you're
1017. 2:49:51playing we are in the janky ass piece of [ __ ] phase of generative AI meaning all of these tools suck on some level or
1018. 2:50:00other it doesn't mean you shouldn't be building [ __ ] and learning about it and exploring it and trying to reinvent your

1023. 2:50:46a bunch of clones I got four [ __ ] that stole my my original image and probably my code but there's my Sin City
1024. 2:50:54sipper so now the thing the thing the thing about the thing about the um uh the thing about the the database is it's just
1025. 2:51:09really crappy right now the GPT store really sucks right now um but it is a database of all the gpts so this will
1026. 2:51:16get better as well it's just just crappy right now um I made a drink from SIM SIM Sin City awesome that's fantastic ha
1027. 2:51:26imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I know it is and that's listen that's the thing the gpts right now it's
1028. 2:51:34really easy for people to what's called jailbreak your GPT unless you protect against it and even if you protect
1029. 2:51:41against it there's probably ways for them to jailbreak it anyway so just assume anything you build in a GPT will

1073. 2:59:41had we don't know who showed up but we teach them in taught them in less than an hour to build a sophisticated customized GPT for a
1074. 2:59:52nonprofit in less than an hour we did 150 in 24 hours without breaking a sweat well we broke a sweat cuz was

1098. 3:04:06you go to someone's GPT that they made and let's say let's say like I've got one called the 7s muscle car maker
1099. 3:04:16machine or something like that 70 yeah '70s muscle car maker and what it does is is you it asks you for your favorite 70s muscle car
1100. 3:04:29make and then you give it a color and then you give it any modifications like do you want a chrome blower on it or
1101. 3:04:35side pipes or drag wheels or whatever spoiler and then it makes you a poster with a nick name of the car on
1102. 3:04:45it now you could go to chat GPT and you could say oh that's a cool idea and you could figure out how to prompt it to
1103. 3:04:54give you a poster that looks like the poster I made but you don't have to you can just go use my thing so I can share
1104. 3:05:01with you the 70s muscle car maker GPT and you can just go there Cory Sandler's got this GPT called iconic eye conic
1105. 3:05:12where you either upload a photo of your face or you just describe your face and then it makes that face and then it'll
1106. 3:05:19put wacky glasses on you and it just it's a glasses designer thing could you prompt that on your own to do that you
1107. 3:05:26could but she's super passionate about her particular flavor of design and so it makes just wacky ass glasses that are just a
1108. 3:05:35joy so and she can share that with the world and they get to experience doing that without without having to figure that [ __ ] out so
1109. 3:05:45technically you could prompt this thing to do anything but the why you do it it's because you've got some particular
1110. 3:05:54passion or expertise you want to share with the world it's true self-expression through application development it's it's pretty pretty

1153. 3:13:06functional in about 10 minutes and then I've since sort of refined it a bit but but this is just amazing and then what
1154. 3:13:13it does is it also says it's got a call to action in it it says this GPT was created by Kyle Shannon a member of the
1155. 3:13:20AI salon and host of the AI learning lab on Tik Tok so this call to action is built into this application so this is
1156. 3:13:27just a fun little thing where you can go make drinks and you know it'll invent drinks for you which is a blast and then
1157. 3:13:34it's a little marketing you know it's it's a little marketing tool for the AI salon and the and the AI thing so anyway
1158. 3:13:40so that's what gpts are oh oh there are images now nice yeah exactly you can turn on image generation in these things
1159. 3:13:47and and some people have really taken that to the next level Cory Sandlers are really good um Danielle be not afraid's
1160. 3:13:53got a bunch in here she's got one that makes uh sugar cookies with with icing on them in all different shapes and
