3:58 this AI stuff you you can just be human
4:02 and uh you can do some pretty remarkable

6:01 have to love it you can recognize that
6:03 these tools are not perfect you can make
6:06 fun of them you can say I'm not going to
6:08 use them for work because they're not
6:10 perfect but maybe you use them to make a
6:12 shopping list or make a kids book or
6:13 something like that
6:16 um and the thing about these tools is
6:20 that they are
6:22 getting much better much more
6:25 sophisticated very very quickly so so
6:29 this coming November 30th what are we
6:31 now we're we're October
6:34 9th we're a week into
6:37 October so we have like five or six
6:40 weeks no no six or seven weeks to
6:44 November 30th which marks the one year
6:46 anniversary of chat GPT one
6:49 year um and so much has happened in that
6:53 year so Clint Copperhead with shaking
6:56 buddy I spend way too much time with
6:59 these tools and not enough time taking
7:01 breaks I that is that is a problem what
7:04 what did I do today oh my business
7:05 partner and I we had to talk about
7:06 something we had a meeting coming up
7:08 with some cool tech company and uh we
7:12 had to talk about our strategy for the
7:13 meeting and she goes you want to go
7:14 outside and I'm like outside what's that
7:17 and there's this beautiful little park
7:19 near our office and we just went out
7:20 there and we sat and talked about the
7:21 business stuff with the sun shining and
7:24 it was nice it was nice but it was it
7:26 was unfamiliar to me which is a bad sign
7:29 thank you for the rose Apple user okay

7:34 here if you're brand new to this AI
7:37 stuff first thing you might ask is like
7:39 who are

7:57 entrepreneur I'm the co-founder and CEO

8:04 and the the the reason I am kind of
8:09 pathologically into this AI stuff right
8:11 now is I've been an entrepreneur for a
8:13 long long time and I was an entrepreneur
8:15 in the early days of the worldwide web I
8:17 started one of the early digital
8:18 agencies company called agency.com and
8:21 so I was there you know at the beginning
8:24 of that worldwide web thing and up it
8:26 went um wait Sam corn can long tonight
8:30 I'm planning a haunted house for
8:31 Halloween Dolly 3 been making posters oh
8:34 yeah Sam that's solid I Like It by the
8:38 way Sam if you're making posters I don't
8:40 know if you have access to uh Dolly 3 in
8:43 GPT but if you just have access to it in
8:45 bing don't forget you can go over to
8:47 photoshop generative fill and make
8:49 things wider or taller if Bing's making
8:51 you square
8:53 things pie and I are programming a
8:55 pomidor timer perfect that's perfect um
8:59 oh I should should actually do a pomidor
9:01 timer for in here shouldn't I I uh I I
9:04 know I have a timer app on my iPad
9:06 whatever I'll deal with
9:08 that that's a good idea
9:10 actually because then every 15 minutes I
9:13 can check in or do something like that
9:14 we we'll figure it out um so so what was
9:19 I talking about oh the early days of the
9:21 worldwide web anyway so so so being
9:24 there at the early days of that and and
9:26 kind of having an epiphany around how
9:28 the worldwide web would change
9:31 everything and then looking at this
9:33 generative AI stuff and realizing that
9:35 the parallels between the early days of
9:37 the web and what's going on with this
9:38 stuff are
9:40 insane
9:42 um I just kind of lost my mind and so
9:45 here I am I've been doing these lives I
9:47 just I looked I looked at YouTube last
9:50 night there's 130 videos up there so
9:53 I've been going live on Tik Tok every
9:56 night with maybe a few exceptions maybe
9:59 two or three days for 4 and 1 half
10:01 months and I spend like 2 and a half or
10:03 3 hours here every flipping night why am
10:06 I doing that because this stuff's really
10:09 important and because I want to
10:10 demystify it I want to get people
10:12 excited about it and not excited about
10:14 it like you have to love it like excited
10:16 about it like it's not coming it's
10:19 here and it's going to [ __ ] some [ __ ]
10:23 up and some things it's going to [ __ ] up
10:25 in a really good way and some things
10:27 it's going to [ __ ] up in a bad way and
10:29 and it's not even necessarily just all
10:31 the cliches like the robots are going to
10:33 kill us bad stuff it's also things like
10:35 it's just going to change things and
10:37 that's going to displace people
10:40 but the people that get curious about
10:43 this stuff and start playing with this
10:45 stuff the amount of opportunity we all
10:48 have in the
10:49 next 18 months to 3 years is insane it's
10:53 insane and and what's happening in this
10:56 in this live in this channel is that but
10:59 a lot of the people that hang out here
11:01 regularly the
11:03 Irregulars have some many have started
11:06 out not doing any of this and then going
11:09 okay I'll try it and then okay I'll try
11:11 it a little bit more oh this is really

11:15 they're off and things are happening in
11:17 their careers and things are taken
11:19 off and you know sometimes people come
11:22 in here with this sort of easy money
11:24 idea of you can make

11:37 that not only are they
11:40 annoying they're
11:43 [ __ ] I mean can you make money with
11:45 Chachi PT yes but can you make money
11:48 from these people no you know how
11:51 they're making money telling you you can
11:53 make money J gbt and you buy the stupid
11:56 [ __ ] course and you're back where you
11:58 started figuring it out on your
12:02 own I'll give you the perfect prompt to
12:04 write the perfect thing to go make
12:06 patterns on Etsy okay and then can
12:09 everyone else do that
12:10 too yeah oh now the Market's

15:54 and just pick a template and then what
15:57 you can do is you can have chat GPT
16:00 write you the content for free right so
16:03 you can say hey I've I tell me what in
16:05 the main section in fact you want to you
16:07 know what let's let's just go do it
16:09 right now why not let's go make you a
16:12 website or just make a website but what
16:15 I would do is I would probably just pick
16:17 a template that I like from one of those
16:19 sites kind of look how it's laid
16:21 out and then come over to chat GPT I'll
16:24 do G GPT 3.5 which is the free version
16:28 and I'll just say
16:34 I want you to
16:35 act hang
16:37 on I want you to act as a
16:41 marketer and website
16:44 copywriter and help me write a
16:46 website for my small business period
16:51 it's a small business that specializes
16:54 in hairstyles for hedgehogs and other
16:58 small F animals
17:06 period before I create a website can you
17:09 give me 10 clever names for my
17:12 business why not get some names for the
17:14 business while we're at it sure here we
17:17 are prickle and PR that's pretty good

20:01 things there there are website specific
20:05 building AI apps so if you go to
20:08 futurepedia doio where there's an AI for
20:11 that there's going to be a lot of sites
20:14 out there that tell you they can build
20:15 your site and you know just with a with
20:18 a thing and some of them can and some of
20:20 them are decent the problem
20:23 is they're going to make the site the
20:26 way they kind of think a site should be
20:28 made and what I found is that when you
20:29 actually go to make a site like you it
20:31 it's not going to just fit the cookie
20:33 cutter so what you can do with chat GPT
20:36 is you can have it create the outline
20:38 until you're happy with the outline of
20:39 your site then have it fill in the
20:41 content and then just pick a template
20:43 and just dump it in there and you're
20:45 done so that's where I would go but if
20:47 you really want to explore some stuff go
20:49 to futurepedia doio okay now if you're
20:52 new to this AI stuff if you're brand new

25:10 second and she was talking about she she
25:12 had just gone through some some um some
25:15 tough times and some tough times with
25:18 her kids and with medical stuff and
25:20 things like that I relate I I've been
25:23 there and she said she started
25:25 interacting with pi so if you download
25:27 the piie
25:28 IOS app so if you go to the Apple App
25:31 Store it's pi and then just search for
25:34 pi personal assistant the company is
25:37 inflection so inflection Ai and you want
25:40 to find the PI app and you download it
25:43 and there's a little green telephone in
25:45 the in the little chat box click the
25:46 telephone and that puts it into voice
25:49 mode and you can just start talking to
25:50 it and and what she shared with me and
25:52 she said I could share this was
25:56 that pi
25:59 she showed her more compassion than her
26:01 family did with with all the stuff that
26:03 was going on and she said it was
26:05 actually really helpful and and I had it
26:09 the reason she brought it up
26:11 is last Thursday I was at a CEO
26:15 event and I was talking to a woman who
26:18 had a business to help people at their
26:21 their end of life manage their end of
26:23 life you know going into hospice and
26:25 things like that she's got a platform to
26:27 do that support them and I said oh you
26:29 need to download pi and I opened pi and
26:34 put it into talk mode and and I just
26:37 kind of made up a story I said hey my
26:39 mother's my mother is um on the verge of
26:43 dying and we're trying we're trying to
26:45 manage her end of life something like
26:46 that I just wanted to put something in
26:48 there one of the things I forgot about
26:50 piie is that it kind of remembers your
26:52 your past conversations and so when I
26:55 said that pie completely freaked out at
26:57 when she she went I've got I've got my
27:00 pie set up to be an Australian woman she
27:02 went whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa is
27:05 what is that that sounds like that's
27:07 very serious is that really happening
27:10 and it totally caught me off guard and
27:12 the woman I was standing with was like
27:14 whoa what's that like I'd never heard
27:17 pie act like that so it's absolutely
27:21 been programmed
27:24 to just be a good conversationalist and
27:27 if you say something that is you know
27:29 serious it takes it serious and if you
27:32 say something that where you need to
27:34 talk to someone it'll talk to you so
27:35 anyway it's a really interesting
27:37 experience so go play with that um the
27:40 other things are worth playing with too
27:41 there um if you want to make images go
27:44 ahead and take a screenshot of this I
27:46 someone gave me a good idea today on on
27:49 the the salon
27:50 Discord I think what I'm going to do is
27:53 I'm going to turn all of these little
27:55 slides here into a PDF and put it
27:58 somewhere and then when we start these
28:00 things rather than me going through each
28:02 one I'm just going to point you all to
28:03 the PDF and you'll have a nice list of
28:06 what I think are the things that are
28:07 worth your time so um so that's that's
28:11 kind of what I'm doing here but I really
28:12 only do this at the beginning of the of
28:14 the lives and then it goes away so um so

28:29 video it's it's really fascinating just

28:33 free credits but you can't make a ton of
28:35 video there all of these once you start
28:37 getting into moving pictures and and
28:40 synthetic voices and things these these
28:41 tools start to get pretty expensive but
28:44 they're at least interesting um hey Jen

28:49 both uh voice
28:51 synthesis um tools that you can upload
28:55 like a picture and make it talk but hey
28:57 gen in particular has this thing in
28:59 their Labs called video

36:47 six months he transformed his career he
36:50 was an engineer a
36:52 programmer and he started playing with
36:55 generative AI art and he said I want to
36:57 become an artist I want a job as an AI

41:53 but it has a good story but it's a
41:54 shitty screenplay and you could have
41:56 claw analyze it restructure it and put
42:00 it back together for
42:02 you or have it keep the same basic story

48:35 worth the 20 bucks alone this is an
48:37 absolutely astounding tool it's an

1:01:37 didn't follow the chewing on the bloody
1:01:39 neck because it's got safety guard rails
1:01:41 that it probably just rode around that
1:01:43 is basically what happened
1:01:45 there so so the question of what's
1:01:48 better is a really tricky one so so the
1:01:52 reason that I've got when I when I show

1:02:33 it what what Dolly has that mid Journey
1:02:37 doesn't is you can do multiple objects
1:02:39 it's got really good what's called
1:02:41 prompt coherence where it it will take
1:02:45 what you asked it to do and do it quite
1:02:48 well um chat jpt is
1:02:51 spooky that's like a photo realistic
1:02:54 version with with a photorealistic
1:02:55 hedgehog and a photorealistic turtle
1:02:57 with kids in the background like that's
1:02:59 that's a really interesting
1:03:02 image there's a little fantasy
1:03:05 illustration in the
1:03:09 woods and I didn't prompt that right I
1:03:13 sort of
1:03:14 said I kind of have a stupid idea about
1:03:17 a stupid concept can you go make some
1:03:19 [ __ ] it wrote the prompts it generated
1:03:22 the images now it's early
1:03:26 so I feel like these things are very
1:03:30 different tools I feel like if you want
1:03:32 art that's mid
1:03:34 Journey if you
1:03:38 want kind of
1:03:40 a a business level professional
1:03:45 conversation that generates
1:03:48 images than it's dolly3 inside chat GPT
1:03:52 or Bing you can also do this inside Bing
1:03:54 right now it's not as is good but you
1:03:55 can do it right now inside Bing if you
1:03:57 say make me an image of this it's the
1:03:59 dolly3 model it's this
1:04:01 model the third one that I'd throw in
1:04:04 there is Adobe Firefly because or or all
1:04:09 all the Adobe generative AI stuff what
1:04:11 adobe's done is Adobe said listen we
1:04:15 understand that the art community is
1:04:17 apoplectic about all this art stuff and
1:04:20 us you know and models being trained on
1:04:23 copywritten work and not giving artist
1:04:25 attribution and there there's there's
1:04:28 some truly existential [ __ ] going on
1:04:30 that I understand why artists are upset
1:04:32 and so did Adobe and so what Adobe
1:04:35 said was we're only going to train the
1:04:38 Adobe image models on [ __ ] we own or
1:04:42 public domain images so it's only been
1:04:44 trained on Adobe stock that they own the
1:04:47 rights to or on public domain so if
1:04:51 you're in a company and you you want to
1:04:53 have as little risk as possible in terms
1:04:55 of maybe getting sued by an artist or
1:04:57 this or that use Adobe so different
1:04:59 tools if you want art mid Journey if you
1:05:02 want sort of prompt coherence and
1:05:04 predictability dolly3 inside chat gbt if
1:05:08 you want something for work probably the
1:05:10 Adobe
1:05:11 products and then there's reasons to use
1:05:13 stable diffusion if you want to hack
1:05:15 [ __ ] and be involved in developer
1:05:17 communities and open source the
1:05:19 stability AI the you know the fact that
1:05:21 they open source stable diffusions
1:05:23 models the developer community on on
1:05:26 stable diffusion is going [ __ ] crazy
1:05:28 so if you want to Tinker stable
1:05:30 diffusion so there's

1:05:34 right it's nuts right now but that's
1:05:37 where we are like we're very early if
1:05:40 you're if you're in here and you're
1:05:42 feeling like but I'm so far behind Kyle

1:06:17 discovered I stumbled upon the web in
1:06:18 1994 and I started in uh in one of the
1:06:22 early digital agencies in 199 4 that was

1:06:27 after 3 or four years after the web was
1:06:29 invented I got in right around the time
1:06:31 browsers showed up where you could
1:06:34 actually type in a URL go to a web page
1:06:37 and click on hyperlinks it was
1:06:41 revelatory we're like that we're like
1:06:43 less than a year out from that
1:06:46 inflection point with AI so we're very
1:06:51 early and that's
1:06:53 why
1:06:55 what I what I preach in here is get
1:06:59 curious and start exploring and don't
1:07:01 get too precious about anything you
1:07:03 build cuz everything's going to be
1:07:05 different 6 months from now everything
1:07:07 what's possible is going to be different

1:07:12 mean seriously if you spent the last 6
1:07:16 months mastering mid Journey
1:07:19 prompting and then you watch some
1:07:22 bumbling ex- actor like me go into chat
1:07:25 GPT and go hey could you make me some
1:07:27 pictures of a hedgehog trick-or-treating

1:07:30 turtle and boom there it is and I don't

1:11:48 3D object of themselves by just rotating

1:11:55 them using this godian spazing it it
1:11:57 really really quickly makes 3D objects
1:12:02 um so this is like uh this is basically
1:12:06 using Nerf technology but the gajian
1:12:08 splatting can take a very
1:12:11 low um a low
1:12:14 density what's it called Point Cloud a
1:12:17 low basically with very few dots it can
1:12:19 make good

1:12:25 so this technology is is like right now
1:12:28 just kind of in the research stage where
1:12:30 there's some apps out that can make 3D
1:12:32 objects and things like that and people
1:12:33 are playing with it um there there are
1:12:36 similar kind of experiments where people
1:12:38 are taking 2D images and inferring 3D
1:12:42 objects out of them um I would
1:12:47 say it depends how geeky you are if if
1:12:50 you want Oh someone said they had GPT

1:12:53 supposed to be rolling it out wide you
1:12:55 know sort of over these days it's
1:12:57 possible that tonight I'll get access to

1:14:43 these are the things that I
1:14:45 feel are the things worth my time like
1:14:49 I'm I'm a a CEO of an 11 and a halfy old

1:14:54 the time to to really be doing what I'm
1:14:57 doing with this AI [ __ ] um so what I'm
1:15:00 showing here these are the things that I
1:15:02 think are worth paying attention to
1:15:04 because these are the significant things
1:15:06 these are the things that add sort of
1:15:08 core fundamental value that if you
1:15:11 learn how to use these tools and what
1:15:14 they're good at and what they're not
1:15:16 good at and why I would why do I have
1:15:18 seven chat GPT like tools because each
1:15:21 of them has some little nugget that the
1:15:23 other one doesn't and understanding when
1:15:26 I would use one over the other is part
1:15:28 of the skill right now the only thing it
1:15:31 requires is curiosity and kind of a
1:15:33 sense of
1:15:34 adventure so given that here's the
1:15:38 adults table these are the top four and
1:15:40 if you only have to pay attention to one
1:15:42 it's the top one and yes I think you
1:15:44 should pay the 20
1:15:45 bucks if you don't it's no skin off my
1:15:48 back I don't make any money off that if
1:15:49 you do but I think you should pay the 20
1:15:52 bucks and get access to these Advanced
1:15:54 tools
1:15:55 because that is a window into the future
1:15:58 this is a window into what's coming

1:16:43 earlier Claude can read your whole

1:16:48 here's the Kids Table Pi download the
1:16:51 iOS app of Pi and put it in talk mode
1:16:54 start talking to one of these large
1:16:56 language models and you'll understand
1:16:59 this thing makes Siri and Alexa seem
1:17:02 like a [ __ ]
1:17:05 joke now what it can't do is what Syrian
1:17:09 Alexa can do which is buy you [ __ ] take
1:17:12 actions on your behalf but it will be
1:17:14 able to but get a glimpse into the
1:17:16 future with that thing and and talk to
1:17:19 it about if you're having a rough time
1:17:21 dealing with something or you get laid
1:17:23 off or you know your girlfriend was an
1:17:25 [ __ ] to you whatever it is just talk
1:17:28 to it see see see how it does at at
1:17:32 Compassion Silver Fox shared a story

1:17:38 good um po you can make your own Bots
1:17:41 perplexity doai you can go play with the
1:17:43 meta open source models the Llama models

1:26:44 person is and then how would I like chat
1:26:47 jpt to respond when someone asks a
1:26:50 question mirror back what you thought
1:26:52 you heard answer a non-obvious
1:26:54 Innovative idea to help clearly answer
1:26:56 the question when you answer include a
1:27:00 metaphor that is Visual and make your
1:27:02 idea easy to remember so remember what
1:27:04 it what it answered before was just
1:27:06 here's sort of the definition of why
1:27:09 stars twinkle right so we're going to
1:27:11 ask it to include a metaphor now then
1:27:13 follow your answer with five bullet
1:27:15 points of 7 to 10 words each and then
1:27:17 create a table formatted in markdown

1:38:04 a point in space in Vector space so you
1:38:07 know when you have like a 2d graph

1:56:31 instead of me typing awkwardly in front
1:56:33 of people I can just do voice to text it
1:56:35 it helps with that so that's made me a
1:56:37 bit more comfortable with it but talking

1:56:43 about interacting with a large language
1:56:45 model like Pi with Voice versus text is
1:56:49 that it's a completely different use
1:56:52 case it it's still words you're still
1:56:55 asking it things it's still providing
1:56:57 answers but having a conversation is way
1:57:00 different than asking for like an answer
1:57:02 to Something in text so I think it's
1:57:06 actually going to be a different
1:57:07 discipline and I and I and I think it's
1:57:09 going to quickly blow past the idea of
1:57:11 discipline and just into we're just
1:57:14 going to start talking to these things
1:57:16 because the reason a lot of people don't
1:57:18 talk to Siri and Alexa is you see all

2:15:15 is it's hard to describe because

2:15:24 life I've had to context switch so fast

2:16:04 then an hour into trying to make
2:16:06 something in Photoshop I smash my
2:16:08 computer on my face and realize I don't
2:16:10 have art skills I'm like God damn it and
2:16:13 now an hour's gone and and then but so
2:16:15 then I go back to stock stuff and then I
2:16:17 make some shitty compromised image that
2:16:19 I stick in the PowerPoint presentation
2:16:21 cuz I don't have enough time anymore cuz
2:16:24 I wasted it and now I'm
2:16:29 in whatever this mode is I'm in creative
2:16:32 director mode I'm like sitting back
2:16:35 going like I'm the conductor I'm like
2:16:38 huh I would like to visualize the values
