0:21 Oh. 0:30 See the hill was a quiet town 0:33 where the oak trees sway. 0:37 Whizzle of the train echoes through the 0:40 day. 0:43 People greet you with a nod. 0:46 Nothing ever seems to change. 0:50 Stories still unfold. It's unique and 0:52 strange. 0:57 Good evening, good people. 1:02 Welcome to the AI Learning Lab pre-show. 1:05 It's Monday night. Sometimes we call 1:08 those meltdown Mondays. It's very 1:10 possible I have a meltdown Monday 1:11 tonight. Uh the AI learning lab is going 1:14 live. Yeah, that's our song, right? 1:16 Weird Mary. 1:19 People greet you with a knot. Nothing 1:22 ever seems to change. 1:25 The stories still unfold. be unique and 1:29 strange. 1:35 Wait, she grew up rough. 1:41 I don't remember all the chords. 1:47 But welcome. Welcome to the AI Learning 1:50 Lab pre-show. We go live at 7:30 1:53 Mountain time in about 19 minutes here. 1:57 If you're on LinkedIn or YouTube, you go 1:58 to the description of this here video 2:01 and there's a link to the AI salon. 2:03 We're going live in the AI Salon. If 2:05 you're on Tik Tok, hey Tik Tok, or uh X, 2:10 it's in my profile. So, you go to my 2:12 profile right there on Tik Tok. And on 2:14 X, it's there or there or doesn't really 2:19 matter. 2:29 Tonight is going to be much like a 2:30 Seinfeld episode. Not that it's funny, 2:36 uh, but that 2:40 I spent a fair amount of brain energy 2:44 today trying to figure out what I was 2:47 going to talk about tonight and I 2:49 couldn't do it. 2:51 And so what I'm going to talk about 2:53 tonight is the fact that I couldn't 2:54 figure out something to talk about 2:55 tonight. 2:58 Random thoughts by TK is in the house. 3:02 Genie's in the house. 3:15 Silver Fox in the house. 3:30 Is Champ okay? Champ is okay. Champ hurt 3:33 his leg. He's got arthritis. I think 3:36 he's probably got arthritis everywhere. 3:37 He's old. He's like 13 years old. Um but 3:40 he was like running around our yard and 3:42 he janked his leg out and he was really 3:44 bad for a couple of days. But uh but 3:45 he's better now. He's good. He's been 3:47 singing. Oh, he's a little lazy right 3:49 now. Champy, do you want to sing? You 3:50 want an A minor champ? 3:54 Do people want to hear you sing? You 3:56 want to sing? 4:13 I hope they will sing. 4:17 David played and it pleased the Lord. 4:22 You don't really care for music, do you? 4:29 Well, it goes like this. The fourth, the 4:31 fifth 4:33 mount of fall and a major lift 4:37 king composing. 4:40 Hallelujah. 4:43 Oops. 4:45 You got to have the minor. You got to 4:47 have the minor in the song that actually 4:50 says the minor lift, right? So, so it 4:54 goes, 4:56 let's see. 5:03 Yeah, it doesn't work. You got to go to 5:04 the minor lift 5:10 from your lip shed. 5:13 Hallelujah. 5:17 Hallelujah. 5:20 Hallelujah. 5:23 Hallelujah. 5:25 Hallelujah. 5:28 Oh yeah. 5:44 Good evening, good people. This is the 5:47 AI Learning Lab pre-show. We're going 5:49 live at 7:30 Mountain time right here 5:51 from this studio, this $20 million 5:54 gargantuan studio. I can't even begin to 5:58 tell you what work it took to make it 6:00 look like an authentic shitty home 6:02 office, 6:04 but believe me, there are dozens of 6:07 We've got grips and best boys. The 6:09 amount of Best Boys we have here 6:11 staggering. And uh 6:16 I you know I've written seven 6:18 screenplays. I still don't know what a 6:19 best boy does. 6:22 I have a feeling a best boy back in the 6:25 g glory days of of Hollywood was 6:27 something very different than what they 6:29 are today. 6:38 I spared myself the notion AI fee by 6:40 using codeex to run my notion desktop 6:43 act. There you go. 6:48 Lori K is a longtime watcher and a 6:51 rising star. 6:57 Lori K, I'm supposed to give you a shout 6:58 out. Here's your shout out. 7:02 So, we're going live in the AI salon at 7:05 7:30. That's just about 15 minutes from 7:07 now. If you're on LinkedIn or YouTube, 7:10 it's in the description. The the direct 7:12 link is there. If you go to my profile 7:14 in Tik Tok or X, uh you'll see the 7:17 direct direct link uh to the AI salon 7:20 right to the channel where this where 7:22 we're going to go live in uh in just 15 7:24 minutes. And uh Monday nights are kind 7:28 of like big big news event night. like 7:30 what's the big story of the week or like 7:34 what's what's something that's eating at 7:36 me or what's something that we need to 7:38 talk about and uh I got nothing 7:43 which I think is the big story. 7:46 I'm going to go with it. I think the big 7:49 story. Do you have any connections with 7:52 theater education? 7:54 Um I don't with theater education. I um 8:02 I mean I'm probably a phone call or two 8:04 away from people who are very connected 8:06 to theater education. Daisy Thomas um 8:10 who is the 8:12 she's our policy director for the AI 8:14 salon. Um she she has been very involved 8:18 with her local theater in Florida 8:23 and she's also quite the educator. So, 8:25 she's probably someone good to tap into. 8:27 Um, 8:30 I'm in the middle of trying to get a 8:31 musical produced, so I'm educating 8:33 myself about that world. 8:51 Yeah, Elon lost his lawsuit against 8:53 Altman. So, check this out. 8:58 So, they're in the courtroom dragging 9:01 out all of the [ __ ] that they did 9:04 and the emails and the text and the 9:06 tweets and the backstabbing and the 9:09 douchy behavior. 9:11 And the the jury gets the uh case 9:16 and they deliberate for 90 minutes. They 9:19 come back out 9:27 They come back out after 90 minutes and 9:29 they're like, "Uh, hey judge, 9:32 uh, 9:35 there's this thing called a statute of 9:36 limitations and it seems like that has 9:39 passed. Is that is that the case?" 9:44 And the judge tossed it. 9:48 Elon waited too long to sue Sam. Uh but 9:52 you know, we got a week and a half or 9:54 two weeks of courtroom drama about what 9:57 douchebags all of them are. 10:09 Sitting in this lonely town, 10:12 wondering things are going to change. 10:17 Dream my life away. 10:20 Seems these dreams have turned to a 10:22 bunch dust clouds. 10:26 Get my nerve up, but my past is pulling 10:29 me down. 10:33 Wondering how long 10:36 this black sheep going to stick around. 10:43 Somebody told me once before, you can 10:46 never go home again. 10:49 Won't you leave? 10:51 Sing things to steer me away. Yeah. From 10:55 the truth of who I am and what I 10:57 believe. So I thanked him for two cents 11:00 with a handshake and some sympathy. 11:04 Yeah. I packed up my blue jeans and 11:08 headed for this big prize 11:12 of my freedom. 11:16 Bye-bye, 11:17 black sheep. To the black sheep of the 11:21 family. 11:23 Bye-bye. 11:27 Oh, that means so very much to me. Yeah. 11:31 Bye-bye, 11:33 black sheep. To my friends and my 11:36 family. 11:38 Bye-bye. 11:41 I gone off and set my soul. 11:46 Set it free. All right, good people. 11:49 Tornado warnings and AI. Yeah, there is 11:51 a lot of noise going on with AI right 11:53 now. And there have been tornado 11:55 warnings right here in my little 11:56 neighborhood here in Denver or just out 11:57 east. Um, 12:01 so this is the AI Learning Lab pre-show. 12:03 You get to hear the dog sing when the 12:05 dog decides he wants to sing. He doesn't 12:06 really want to sing tonight. We got a 12:08 little bit. Um, we're going live at 7:30 12:11 Mountain time over in the AI salon. If 12:13 you're like, "But Kyle, how do I get to 12:14 the AI salon?" You can read right there. 12:17 There's the URL. But you're like, "Kyle, 12:20 I I don't like to type URLs. What am I a 12:23 Gen Xer?" 12:28 No, you don't have to. You don't have to 12:29 type. You just If you go to my profile 12:32 on Tik Tocker X, you just click on it. 12:35 And if you're on YouTube or LinkedIn, 12:36 there's a little description below this 12:38 video. There's a hyperlink in it. You 12:40 just click on it. Just just a just a 12:42 hint 12:45 and it'll take you right over to the AI 12:46 salon. And you're like, Kyle, what's the 12:48 AI salon? It is a a salon. We don't do 12:53 hair. We don't do nails, but we do 12:56 ideas. And tonight's an idea night. 12:58 Tonight's the big idea night. And my big 13:00 idea tonight that we're going to talk 13:03 about for 90 minutes is that I don't 13:05 have a [ __ ] idea. 13:08 That's the big idea. And I actually do 13:11 think that's the big idea. 13:14 It's actually hard to know what to focus 13:16 on right now. Like what's the big story? 13:17 I don't know. They're all big. And when 13:20 and when everything is important, 13:22 nothing is important, right? Everyone's 13:25 overwhelmed. Everyone's bitching and 13:27 moaning. graduates are like, "Eric 13:29 Schmidt, go [ __ ] yourself with AI." So, 13:32 we're just going to talk about it all 13:33 tonight. 13:39 There are surprising number of Daisy 13:41 Thomas's in Florida. Um, Daisy, well, if 13:44 you join the AI salon, you can DM Daisy 13:47 there. Um, and uh, that's probably the 13:50 easiest way to do it. Uh, just just join 13:53 go to community.thesalon.ai, 13:54 I join and then Daisy Thomas uh just DM 13:58 her right in there. She's been under the 14:01 weather. So, um she might not get back 14:03 to you for a day or two, but 14:10 Okay, let's try out Korea 2. I posted 14:12 about it in the salon and it's free for 14:14 everyone for one week. Okay, cool. So, 14:16 I'll I'll point that out in the AI salon 14:19 once we once we start the uh once we 14:21 start the live stream. Danielle, I'll 14:23 point that out and then we'll get 14:25 talking about the big topic of the 14:27 night. 14:29 Nothing. 14:34 It's going to be so good. 15:24 Um, what else we going to do tonight? If 15:26 you have any questions about AI, you can 15:28 pop them in here now. Um, we've got five 15:31 minutes till we go live. So, this is the 15:33 AI Learning Lab pre-show. Uh, we got a 15:36 fair amount of folks on both the Tik Tok 15:38 and all these channels here. So, if 15:41 you're on LinkedIn or YouTube, go to the 15:43 description. You can click on the link 15:44 there. That'll take you straight to the 15:46 AI salon. If you're on X or uh Tik Tok, 15:50 uh, go to my profile and the link is 15:52 there. Just click on it. Just got to 15:54 click. That's it. and we will be talking 15:56 about all the stuff going on. There's 15:58 there's a lot going on. Google IO is 16:01 this week. Um Zenesk has a big event in 16:04 Denver. Brandon Tid right now is sitting 16:08 in an airport in Cleveland waiting for 16:10 the plane to get there so we can come 16:12 here. So Brandon and I are going to see 16:15 each other in person this week, which 16:16 I'm really excited about. I've never met 16:18 Brandon in person. So that's going to 16:20 happen. That I'm really, really stoked 16:23 about. 16:25 If you're in town for Zenesk, I will be 16:29 there probably more Wednesday than 16:31 Tuesday. I've got a big day tomorrow 16:33 with another organization. I do a little 16:36 consulting here and there. And when you 16:38 do consulting, sometimes they're like, 16:39 "Uh, we'd like you to come consult now." 16:42 Like, okay. 17:05 Danielle, are you finding it? I mean, 17:08 you seem to still be keeping up with the 17:10 tools decently well. Are you 17:11 overwhelmed, too? How are you doing on 17:13 that front? That's something I'm always 17:16 surprised about 17:19 is 17:20 people that can still keep up with it. 17:26 I'm going to open my window because 17:30 it has been chilly and rainy all day. 17:33 Danielle, I'm overwhelmed. Okay, good. 17:37 I'm glad. I thought every now and then I 17:41 think someone might know the secret that 17:44 that you know the secret to not being 17:46 overwhelmed with AI. There isn't a 17:48 secret. Nobody knows anything. There are 17:50 no experts. Everyone's overwhelmed. 17:52 Good. 17:54 Yeah. 17:57 Yeah. We're all trying to deal with it, 17:59 man. We're all trying to deal with it. 18:01 That's kind of that's part of what I'm 18:03 going to talk about tonight. 18:07 The the reason the reason that I think 18:09 that there's that it's really hard to to 18:12 know what to talk about right now, and 18:14 this is what I'll sort of unpack in the 18:17 next 90 minutes, 18:19 is that AI is starting to make the 18:22 transition from a tool to 18:25 infrastructure. 18:29 Infrastructure is boring. Infrastructure 18:32 is complicated. infrastructure involves 18:35 lots and lots of people, lots and lots 18:37 of layers, lots of stacks, 18:41 stacks of stuff. 18:44 And I think that's that's kind of what 18:46 the deal is right now is that 18:48 we're moving from from a mode where 18:51 where AI was this kind of singular 18:54 thing, a singular tool 18:57 to the tools becoming more and more and 18:59 more complicated to now it's starting to 19:02 move into this 19:04 functional layer. And so it's really 19:07 hard to talk about a functional layer 19:09 because it's just a functional layer. 19:10 The only thing that makes it interesting 19:12 is what you do with it. 19:14 Right? And you can't do anything with it 19:16 until you understand what the layer is. 19:18 And it's hard to understand what the 19:19 layer is because it's being invented 19:21 right now. So anyway, that's what we're 19:23 going to talk about on the AI learning 19:25 lab live, the nothingness of AI, 19:29 and that's over in the AI salon in one 19:31 minute. And I will see you over there. 19:34 Peace out. 19:36 I like the green lower thirds better 19:37 than the orange. Awesome.
