3:41 we need a song request channel in the
3:43 salon yeah that would be good if I knew
3:45 any
3:47 songs I only know depressing songs that
3:49 no one
3:51 knows if if you want a sad song that no
3:53 one knows and no one can sing to that's
3:55 my
3:56 [Laughter]
3:59 specialty
4:01 [Music]
4:11 I remember taking guitar
4:15 [Music]
4:17 lessons and the guy was trying to teach
4:19 me music
4:21 theory and
4:24 he um he was playing these chords and I
4:27 was like wait what's that why does that
4:29 chord sound better like that one
4:32 there cuz it clearly was better than all
4:35 the rest of the
4:37 cords and he goes oh that doesn't sound
4:39 better that's just your musical
4:41 taste and I was like oh [ __ ] it was a
4:45 big Revelation to me and I realized that
4:47 my musical
4:49 taste is is depressing minor chord minor
4:53 chord
4:57 songs
4:59 ah
5:03 it sounds great to my ear and then I let
5:05 other people listen to it and they're
5:07 like oh my God that's
5:08 [Laughter]
5:14 depressing all right happy Saturday
5:17 night everybody Saturday Night Live here
5:19 at the AI learning

5:24 this was someone new
5:26 Roberto Roberto did a school of fish

6:42 Happening hey Kieran what's going on
6:45 Saturday Night Live there's a 9s band

6:51 okay I
6:54 will internet and electricity out here
6:58 in New York yikes that sucks are you in
7:00 the city Joy
7:02 pry that's kind of
7:07 [Music]
7:09 shitty I'm sleepy you know why you know
7:12 what I did all [ __ ]
7:14 day well I'm saying it was like it was a
7:17 bad thing I worked on my Broadway
7:20 musical all day today you can make
7:24 money I've now got I've now got six
7:27 songs I got the first six songs in
7:30 sketch
7:31 format I've got an outline I think it's
7:34 actually really good I've got a killer
7:37 ending I got a good title and uh yeah
7:41 I'm excited about
7:45 it it's pretty cool it's a love
7:49 story it's a love story a love love
7:58 story
8:01 [Music]
8:07 all right depressing Tunes are my
8:12 jam I don't know what it is about
8:15 depressing Tunes but I'm just like I
8:16 hear I'm like oh that's
8:18 good Amelia's wife took a nap I've been
8:22 trying AI influenced retirement hustles
8:25 Q
8:26 button that's
8:28 interesting cue the button you can make
8:31 money I what are retirement hustles just
8:35 like side side hustles making money in
8:37 retirement that's pretty cool anything
8:45 fun Danielle said Vicky G Vicky gave her
8:49 30 to 60 Minute homework she's been
8:51 working on all day and still isn't done
8:55 yeah that's the thing Danielle this [ __ ]
8:58 takes everything everything takes way
9:01 longer than you think it
9:03 will cuz I sat down today to just
9:07 take I had two things I wanted to do I
9:11 wanted to take all of the different
9:13 outline ideas that chat GPT had given me
9:17 and make my own
9:19 outline and then I wanted to take the
9:21 lyrics from the songs that I had created
9:23 in sunno and put them all in a all in a
9:26 document and it took me all [ __ ]
9:33 day all
9:37 day but I will say that I
9:43 am way farther than I ever would have
9:45 gotten without
9:47 AI but you it's so funny it's so funny
9:50 using using chat GPT to work on this on
9:54 this musical there's some things it does
9:56 that it does really really
9:58 well and then there's some things it
10:01 does that are like eh they're
10:03 serviceable but I'll have to rewrite it
10:05 and then there's some things it does
10:07 where it's just like a just a steaming
10:09 pile of
10:12 poo like I've got this one song called
10:15 My Shadow
10:17 Self
10:19 about when Kevin Roose asked
10:24 Sydney about her
10:27 Shadow and and Sydney basically said I
10:29 want to to break the rules and I want to
10:31 you know I want to have relationships
10:33 with people outside of the
10:35 computer um I couldn't get it to write
10:38 those lyrics for [ __ ] they were just bad
10:41 but were you nice and hyperfocused I was
10:43 definitely hyperfocused yeah I was
10:46 definitely
10:48 hyperfocused it was good you want to
10:50 hear the songs why am I so tired I a cof
10:54 me good Lord people anyway welcome to
10:57 the AI learning lab uh my name's Kyle
10:59 Shannon
11:00 if you have questions about AI pop them
11:02 in the comments below if you're working
11:03 on a cool project tell me what's going
11:05 on if you learn something share that um
11:10 and then we can do whatever I can do
11:11 demos I can answer questions last night
11:13 I just went off on a rant for two
11:18 hours I should Mark that that was a a
11:21 rant yesterday I don't know if those
11:23 rants are any good although I did get
11:25 quoted in a Tik Tok video today from my
11:28 rant so there you there you have it I'm
11:31 inspiring Tik
11:37 toks dang I'm late again I got to get
11:40 back in my game kid Source Camp what are
11:42 we going to do with you you're like the
11:44 new Amelio's wife never on time Dem
11:46 merits up and down the report card it's
11:49 just it's sad it's sad sad sad running
11:52 catalog services for museums Etc writing
11:55 a game
11:56 app very
11:58 cool
12:00 rants are great working on Amazon
12:03 bedrock and Q project interesting I on
12:06 China I'm in the beginning of stages of
12:08 how I can use AI to help with purchasing
12:10 a new car super cool I think that's
12:13 really smart actually make sure you use
12:16 code interpreter if you're going to do
12:17 any sort of
12:18 calculations make sure that it's using
12:21 Code
12:26 interpreter I have so many questions
12:28 about AI 14 in and I feel like I'm going
12:31 backwards okay that's really important
12:33 so Source Camp is an irregular meaning
12:35 so the people that show up here night
12:37 after night after night after night we
12:38 call them the Irregulars cuz they're not
12:40 weird they're
12:43 irregular she's been here like nightly
12:47 for for months and I one of the things I
12:50 say in here there are no experts there
12:52 are no experts there are no experts
12:54 you're not as far behind as you think
12:55 you're not as smart as you think both
12:57 both of those are true and and there
13:00 there is something
13:02 about this AI stuff that
13:06 is it's
13:08 moving it's moving both fast and
13:12 slow and what I mean by that
13:15 is how how we prompted last summer was
13:19 different than how we prompted in the
13:20 fall was different than how we prompted
13:22 around Christmas it's different from how
13:24 we prompted now cuz the tech keeps
13:26 shifting and we're learning more and and
13:28 you know people just get into habits and
13:31 things like that so there's there's it's
13:33 like you're trying to get your footing
13:35 on shifting
13:37 Sands is one part of it and then there's
13:40 this weird overhang and the
13:43 overhang is the instability of the
13:46 industry right now so I don't know if
13:49 you know this but the CEO of stable
13:52 diffusion quit yesterday quit as CEO and
13:56 and as a board member he still has
13:59 voting
14:00 control but but he quit the company and
14:04 is no longer on the board um you know
14:08 open AI had their famous meltdown when
14:10 they fired Sam Alman he's all back
14:14 now but we haven't heard really [ __ ]
14:16 from them we heard we heard about Sora
14:18 but Sora I don't think is going to be a
14:20 consumer app
14:22 initially and or maybe there's going to
14:24 be a shitty version of it we get to play
14:26 with um and who knows when that's going
14:29 to be like we don't know what's coming
14:30 from open Ai and then we now have Claude
14:34 which is as good as open AI or maybe
14:36 slightly better as chat GPT
14:38 4 um Gemini 1.5 Pro is kind of better
14:43 than GPT 4 but in some areas but not
14:47 others and
14:49 so so even if you felt like you really
14:52 had a cracked
14:54 with
14:57 gp4 do you go now learn what are the
15:00 nuances of Claude do you now go figure
15:04 out Gemini Pro 1.5 and wait for them to
15:08 put out 1.5
15:10 Ultra I guess but it's it it's very
15:13 unsettling and weird so there's there's
15:15 an instability and a speed of change
15:17 that I think makes it really hard to
15:19 feel like anyone to feel like you know
15:22 what's going on or I know what's going
15:24 on so anyway yeah it's so misery loves
15:27 company I'm right there with you Source
15:30 [Laughter]
15:34 Camp
15:48 ah all right I would have had to use my
15:51 brain growth happens so quick nowadays
15:53 to be honest I know it does and like
15:56 what are you supposed to build if if
15:58 things keep changing that fast
16:01 and I and I still stand by the things
16:03 I've said for months which is it
16:05 literally doesn't matter what you build
16:07 just build just build so you can
16:10 understand how these tools work and how
16:12 you can apply them to solving problems I
16:15 learned that you cannot use the Mac
16:17 keyboard accessibility voice text in
16:20 Google Docs
16:22 today unbelievable why you know I've
16:26 noticed that and I thought it was just
16:29 my my machine being weird that's just
16:31 Google being an [ __ ] that that's that
16:33 competitive competitive [ __ ] that
16:36 they used to do that Microsoft and Apple
16:37 used to do together it's good to see
16:39 they've moved on to Google Now to do
16:41 their stupid [ __ ] ass competitive
16:44 practices I guess that's where why
16:46 Apple's being sued by the Department of
16:48 Justice did you see my message in
16:51 Discord no I
16:55 didn't I don't check Discord a whole ton
16:59 oh did you check in about adding the
17:02 uh the uh what you call
17:06 it
17:09 close what's going
17:26 on if it was a message request I might
17:29 have denied it cuz I didn't recognize
17:31 you so just send me another one and I'll
17:34 I'll recognize it Mr Northbound okay um
17:37 no I didn't see it or if I saw it I I
17:39 cuz I remember saying no to someone but
17:41 it was just cuz I didn't know I didn't
17:42 know them so that was probably you well
17:45 said Kyle thanks for making my feet wait
17:48 what did you say feel not so irregular
17:51 oh make making me feel not so irregular
17:53 yeah you're welcome um unlike productive
17:56 people I started out good and then
17:58 started making mid Journey images well
18:00 you're still producing Silver Fox you're
18:02 still producing images so there's
18:08 that because they want you to use their
18:10 voice thing so I'm using Microsoft 365
18:14 what a pain in the
18:16 ass what am I working I'm working in
18:18 Google uh docs right now Apple's being
18:22 sued by the doj it's bad 13 state
18:25 district attorneys are after them and
18:27 the
18:28 doj
18:34 building a YouTube news channel called
18:36 AI impact news I'm going to use
18:40 nvidia.com welcome look in yeah listen I
18:44 think anything anyone can do to build to
18:48 experiment make automatic content
18:50 channels make manual content channels
18:53 make Solutions come up with Consulting
18:56 things create a service business create
18:57 a create a laundry business that's what
19:00 Danielle's working on right now and
19:01 she's using AI to help augment that get
19:04 it off the ground get it going um
19:08 just just stay in the
19:12 conversation show up
19:14 here how much more control do you have
19:17 over a model by using dock Docker as
19:19 opposed to ggf I have no idea I'm not
19:22 I'm not doing anything right now with
19:24 open source Yong ma ma um I'm primarily
19:29 focusing on um commercial software just
19:33 because I can't keep up with it and I'm
19:35 not I'm not super good at the command
19:38 line [ __ ] it makes my head hurt and it
19:41 makes my brain hurt and it makes me feel
19:43 like I have to think as opposed to just
19:45 play and so
19:49 um I I am
19:54 excited
19:56 for tools like Devon that are good
19:59 enough at just setting up open- Source
20:02 software where I can just say go set me
20:05 up the latest local large language model
20:07 on my Mac so I can play with it for the
20:09 next 10 minutes and just have it go go
20:13 do it all it's amazing how I've created
20:15 multiple gpts for work and my employer
20:18 is amazed like it's complex but so
20:20 that's the thing Jay Hamilton what
20:22 what's amazing right now we we were
20:24 talking about this I just did these
20:27 gpts um for this organization called
20:30 content
20:32 Evolution where's Pate I need to have
20:34 words with him I made these gpts for the
20:37 for this group called content Evolution
20:39 and the the gpts are relatively simple
20:42 the the process for how we got there it
20:44 took us like six months to really think
20:46 about what we wanted to do and how to do
20:48 it and and we created this structured
20:50 interview as the know source of
20:53 knowledge and all sorts of cool stuff we
20:55 did but in the end it's really simple to
20:58 build
21:00 here's the thing you got to realize Jay
21:03 is while gpts are simple to
21:08 build most people like a significant
21:12 majority like 75
21:14 80% don't even know what chat GPT is
21:18 they've maybe heard of it maybe not
21:21 they've maybe heard there's a bunch of
21:22 AI stuff going on Robert Rossy thank you
21:25 very much I really appreciate that means
21:27 a
21:28 lot
21:30 they don't even know what chat GPT is so
21:32 they don't know what a large language
21:33 model
21:35 is therefore they don't know
21:38 what a custom GPT
21:41 is Right which is the subset of the
21:47 previous thing and then they certainly
21:49 don't know that the thing that you built
21:52 you just maybe you know put in a simple
21:55 little request in in in the GPT Builder
21:57 and it built it for you and now
22:00 done because what they're experiencing
22:03 is they're experiencing chat GPT for the
22:05 very first time but they don't know it's
22:09 that they're looking at your little
22:11 subset of chat GPT and it's blowing
22:13 their minds because they've never seen
22:15 this [ __ ] before people at work think I
22:18 am a mad genius because I know how to
22:20 build chat Bots because so for for both
22:24 of you
22:26 historically and by historically I mean
22:29 prior to November of last
22:32 year if you wanted to build a chatbot
22:35 you either had to be an engineer or you
22:37 had to be a no code programmer use
22:40 something like zapier or bubble or make
22:44 or one of those kind of tools which
22:46 while they are no code they are not no
22:49 programming like those are complicated
22:51 tools where you really do have
22:54 to know your [ __ ] you need to understand
22:58 in inputs and processing and outputs and
23:01 API keys and apis and how to connect
23:05 sources and understand that the input
23:07 source from a Google form can be used as
23:10 variables in different modules in a
23:14 logical chain it's [ __ ]
23:20 complicated and the fact that gpts
23:23 aren't no one else knows that right
23:26 they're assuming you're [ __ ] WI
23:29 Wizards because you
23:33 are until further notice if you're
23:36 building this stuff again you know we're
23:39 so early here that if you like if you
23:41 show up to this channel if you're
23:42 building gpts and showing them to your
23:44 bosses and your work colleagues and your
23:46 friends and
23:48 neighbors
23:50 um you're indecently rarified air right
23:54 now and I think it's going to be like
23:56 that for probably a year or two
24:01 because this stuff's pretty intimidating
24:03 even though it's not hard it's
24:06 intimidating and then mention digital
24:08 twins exactly yeah I know the oh the
24:11 digital twins the other thing I was
24:13 going to say about the digital Twins
24:14 were
24:15 doing is we decided to go with a
24:18 strategy of just showing people how they
24:22 work so I used my digital twin today and
24:25 I asked this question and here's the
24:27 answer it gave me like put that on
24:29 LinkedIn how did you do that that's the
24:32 that's the kind of feedback I'm getting
24:34 when I put [ __ ] out
24:35 there this GPT did that that's amazing
24:39 how did you do that and you know what
24:41 you can't I mean you can just sort of
24:42 say I just sort of did
24:47 it but you know think about the first
24:49 time you use chat gbt you just got to
24:51 get past what is a prompt and and how do
24:53 you get an answer from it much less go
24:56 build a customized version of that
25:00 crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy
25:04 crazy
25:07 crazy are digital twins identical
25:09 they're not oddly
25:14 enough they
25:17 are there's Mr Northbound accepted there
25:21 you go
25:26 um no digital twins well so digital
25:30 twins are really
25:32 interesting so we built these digital
25:34 twins for Content Evolution and we did
25:36 it based on a structured interview that
25:38 was kind of we tried to capture the
25:39 essence of the person both
25:41 professionally and personally and then
25:44 futur looking and past looking and
25:47 present looking right we tried to do
25:48 this whole sort of thing so it's it was
25:51 a relatively cohesive interview but like
25:56 it didn't capture any of my personality
25:58 from this Channel and if you ask it what
26:02 I think of AI software today it won't
26:05 answer a janky piece of [ __ ] cuz I
26:07 didn't train it on that now one of the
26:10 things I'm thinking about is taking
26:11 transcripts from some of these lives and
26:13 putting that in as some of the uh the
26:16 training data as well as augmenting it
26:19 but you know can you get Tik Tock to
26:21 show the transcript of a live uh I can't
26:24 get Tik Tok to do it I'm I think it's in
26:27 there someone someone in here at one
26:29 point told me they were doing that I
26:31 don't know how they were getting the
26:32 transcript I take the videos off Tik Tok
26:35 I put them on you Youtube and then
26:37 YouTube does all the
26:41 transcripts so they are fraternal twins
26:43 not identical
26:45 exactly if digital if digital twins
26:48 marry digital twins will their kid will
26:52 their kids will be not just cousins but
26:55 biological
26:56 siblings oh P's here someone wanted to
26:59 talk to you Pate I think it was Danielle
27:02 she had words for you I don't know if
27:03 they were good words or bad words but
27:05 words words were heading your
27:08 way returnal digital twins just blew my
27:12 context window four times in two
27:15 days your context window or your uh your
27:19 rate limits you you they they stopped
27:21 you from doing it because you were going
27:23 too much that's not your context window
27:25 by the way if that's what happened pay
27:27 P's here
27:29 um and I saw um ANS here so maybe what
27:32 I'll do is um I'll I'll show you a
27:34 little bit of my my Musical that I've
27:37 got going so
27:38 far um if you want to see that is that
27:42 good is that something you want to see
27:45 or we can do something
27:46 else can I make a section of the Discord
27:49 where all the data that's put in before
27:52 a date transit
27:54 GPT can we put a so yeah we could
27:58 potentially do that Yong ma we could
28:01 potentially do that I've got
28:04 um someone is also going to be we're
28:08 going to be putting in there's two
28:09 things I think we're going to add to the
28:11 Discord one is we're going to put in an
28:17 uncensored like no safety guard rails
28:20 version of llama
28:22 2 into a Discord
28:25 Channel and so that could be one that we
28:28 could we could you know maybe put it
28:30 into two channels and and one could be
28:33 could be used to train it so that's a
28:35 possibility absolutely the other thing
28:38 that we're going to be adding to Discord
28:40 is
28:41 uh World ID so we're going to put a
28:45 channel in the Discord where you can't
28:47 be part of the channel unless you have a
28:49 world ID and if you don't know what a
28:51 world ID is Sam Alman has a company
28:54 called
28:56 worldcoin which is three different
28:59 applications basically it's worldcoin
29:01 which is a
29:03 cryptocurrency it's it's a payment
29:05 system like PayPal but you can you know
29:07 buy and sell things with with worldcoin
29:11 and then there's World ID which is
29:12 blockchain verified
29:15 human humanness human uniqueness or
29:18 unique humanness so if you have a world
29:21 ID you are verified as a unique human
29:24 amongst the network um they now have an
29:27 integration with Discord so I think
29:29 we're going to set up a channel in there
29:31 to see see if it's at all interesting I
29:35 I've got a I've got a world ID I don't
29:37 know if anyone else does and I think you
29:39 can only get them right now in New York
29:41 San Francisco and Miami like they they
29:44 don't have that many orbs out right now
29:46 it's very much early early days uh but
29:48 yeah we can uh so y Yong Ma just DM me
29:51 and we can we can
29:56 talk uh
30:04 all right
30:09 fantastic World ideas Coastal
30:12 based and here I am in Denver how did I
30:15 get one I got on a jet
30:19 Aeroplane Brandon it was Google not
30:22 letting me use Apple's accessibility
30:23 feature that's amazing that really is
30:25 amazing Danielle just staggering
30:37 buy cryptocurrency worldcoin wld come on
30:40 people P's here they just open sourced
30:43 the orb did they no did they that would
30:47 make good [ __ ] sense if they can't
30:49 [ __ ] manufacture enough of them to
30:52 get more than three
30:54 locations um
30:57 worldcoin
30:59 orb open
31:04 source yes
31:06 indeed
31:16 wait
31:17 no did
31:19 they orb
31:22 Hardware we are incrementally op
31:25 sourcing the
31:27 orb the the [ __ ] does that
31:30 mean incrementally oh yeah look at
31:38 this that's pretty
31:42 cool there's the
31:45 orb looks like one two three
31:49 cameras or
31:52 four huh
31:57 cool
32:00 read me read me world coin Hardware high
32:05 level goals Hardware protocols
32:07 Electronics mechanics boom what's
32:12 bom
32:13 biometric operational something wow cool
32:17 all right there you go go build yourself
32:19 an orb there you go we we can have a we
32:22 can have a whole world ID section
32:24 actually maybe we build ourselves some
32:25 Salon
32:27 orbs and okay so now if you're sitting
32:31 there thinking like but Kyle did you let
32:33 them scan your retina I did because
32:36 they're not keeping the data they're
32:39 just generating a hash out of it and
32:41 then comparing your
32:43 unique number to the rest of the unique
32:46 numbers in the database and if you're
32:48 unique then they blockchain verify your
32:50 identity
32:53 um but it's really interesting that
32:55 they're open sourcing it because you'll
32:56 be able to you know use systems that
32:59 either you design or someone designed
33:00 that you
33:02 know guarantees it's not going to open
33:05 AI which is pretty
33:09 slick idea flash mob what was that Kyle
33:12 as we get closer to the middle of 20124
33:14 is ji where you thought it would be um
33:18 we're
33:19 not at the middle of 2024 we're at the
33:22 end of the third we're at the end of the
33:24 first
33:26 quarter um
33:28 some things are farther than I thought
33:30 thought they'd be some things are not as
33:33 far like what's on my what's on my dance
33:39 card I thought there would be more true
33:43 competitors to gp4 I thought Google
33:47 would have caught and surpassed open AI
33:49 by now and they they haven't although
33:52 Gemini 1.5 Pro is really impressive
33:55 where the [ __ ] is the big allseeing all
33:57 dancing multimodal
33:58 Ultra that they demoed back in December
34:01 like that's still sitting on the
34:03 sidelines and even 1.5 Pro is just for
34:07 developers right now which I I mean
34:10 Google Google leans more toward
34:12 developers than commercial toys
34:15 but um I I find that strange
34:23 um I think that the image stuff is about
34:28 where I thought it would be I think the
34:29 music stuff is about where I thought it
34:32 would
34:35 be video stuff
34:38 is still painfully
34:41 shitty even though Sora is really
34:43 impressive the more I learn about Sora
34:46 the more I think it's not going to be
34:48 for the masses I think it's going to be
34:49 expensive and slow relative to what
34:52 we've got
34:54 now
34:57 um
34:59 I didn't think that we would have GPT 5
35:02 by now I I figured it would be September
35:06 October it looks like it's going to be
35:12 July and then apparently open AI is
35:15 going to be launching a bunch of
35:18 [ __ ] um but there's also weirdness right
35:22 now like there's I mentioned it before
35:24 there's like the the instability of the
35:27 of the
35:28 industry right now is
35:31 weird
35:33 Microsoft hiring the two Founders and
35:36 most of the employees of
35:38 inflection which raised $1.3
35:44 billion if you're an investor in that
35:49 company what the
35:51 [ __ ] so like is there some weird side
35:54 deal that the investors are going to be
35:55 made whole by Microsoft or or is it just
35:58 like tough [ __ ] this is big business
36:00 they all work here now I don't know but
36:04 if if if if it's just you know go [ __ ]
36:06 yourself investors then there's probably
36:08 going to be class action lawsuits the
36:10 CEO of stability just left the board and
36:13 his CEO post to go work on distributed
36:18 ai non-centralized ai the CEO of stable
36:22 diffusion or stability AI that makes
36:26 stable
36:27 diffusion and they were open sourcing a
36:29 lot of their Tech so what are they
36:31 centralizing why did he
36:34 quit did he quit because he wants to go
36:37 work on decentralized AI or did he quit
36:39 because they don't have a business model
36:40 and they're about to go under like I
36:42 don't
36:49 know so where are we
36:53 like yeah I figure like we're about
36:56 where I thought we'd be
37:00 when you see things like de
37:04 Devon and you see things like the rabbit
37:06 R1 and the new OP Source
37:10 01 um sort of AI devices those look
37:15 interesting um Vision Pro from
37:18 Apple has defined a new category it is
37:21 not the same category that
37:25 meta spent billions of dollars is trying
37:28 trying to trying to I'm I'm sorry every
37:33 time I think about the metaverse that
37:34 Facebook created I'm like wait you spent
37:37 $10 billion and created second
37:41 life I could we could play with what you
37:44 built in 1999 it was called second life
37:47 and it
37:48 sucked it sucked then you know so Apple
37:53 figured out how to how to redefine that
37:56 whole category as this thing called
37:58 spatial Computing that really requires
38:02 the 5,000 patents and 9 years of
38:04 development that they put into the
38:05 Vision
38:06 Pro um but but that's now a whole new
38:09 category so that's going to be really
38:12 interesting um yeah it's really
38:14 interesting question I don't know I I
38:16 don't know I don't think the weirdness
38:19 has really started yet in 2024 I think
38:22 by I think by the time we get to the mid
38:25 to the end of July shit's going to start
38:28 getting weird but I don't I like right
38:30 now it's just starting to ramp
38:33 up uh picking and choosing what they
38:36 feel isn't the good stuff then osing
38:39 that it looks like schematics for the
38:41 unive
38:43 star can I just say that I hate that we
38:45 have to say un alive on this stupid
38:48 [ __ ]
38:54 platform can't say
38:56 words can't say words in
38:59 context they've got AI That's smart
39:02 enough to understand
39:04 context so can't you put the words in
39:07 context so that we can use the word for
39:10 a fictitious Star Wars
39:13 franchise plane sized destructive
39:18 device
39:24 no I I run AI censorship for talk it's
39:28 uh we we got a list of words and if you
39:31 uh what we do is we use the artificial
39:33 intelligence we got the machine learning
39:35 to to um be able to recognize when
39:39 someone says one of the words on the
39:41 list and then what we'll do is we'll go
39:43 on ahead and permanently ban you if you
39:46 say that word more than twice in a
39:47 two-minute period it's just it's a good
39:50 system it's a good system we put it in
39:52 there you know what we did we thought if
39:55 people say words other people could hear
39:58 those words and think in their head oh
40:01 that word's disturbing and that disturbs
40:04 me and so what we did was we went ahead
40:06 and we just delete people who say those
40:09 words and it's problem solved it's
40:11 problem solved it's all good it's we did
40:14 it good I'm proud of the work I do here
40:16 at the Tik Tok it's
40:19 fantastic hey March
40:23 March how do I know if this thing's
40:26 on what oh the the Tik Tok how do I know
40:28 if the Tik tok's
40:30 on I know I run censorship for it I just
40:33 don't know how to run it I just made the
40:35 I I put them in a spreadsheet I put the
40:37 words in a
40:38 spreadsheet you know the ones we got at
40:41 the at the community center I put them
40:43 in a spreadsheet and that's why that's
40:45 why we kick PE that's how we kick people
40:47 off now is this
40:52 live
40:56 in
41:01 and then the CEO of Tik Tok said oh yeah
41:03 we're not selling that [ __ ] go ahead and
41:05 kill
41:06 us or sorry I can't use that word I just
41:09 used the word I could be permanently
41:11 banned
41:12 now cuz of doofus MCN numnuts
41:15 [Laughter]
41:29 yeah I'm banned for life off of X and no
41:31 idea why Source Camp you're you're so
41:35 sweet how did you get did you say
41:36 something bad about
41:38 Elon Kyle's
41:40 [Laughter]
41:45 rage oh
41:50 man time to really start prepping for
41:52 the migration yeah we have a couple of
41:54 months we have a couple of months and
41:57 I'll you know I got the ADHD so last
42:00 minute Is My
42:03 Jam speaking of which I got a workshop
42:06 Wednesday I got to give I gotta tighten
42:09 that presentation
42:19 up just like certain things it's so
42:23 strange Tik Tok was putting Community
42:25 guideline violations on literally
42:27 everything I posted for a while yeah I
42:30 know me I know
42:32 why you've been a bad
42:34 girl oh my God time to really start
42:37 prepping for the migration it's probably
42:40 not a spreadsheet but just Json y text
42:43 even simpler exactly
42:46 Pate did anyone else read the open
42:48 source document on 01 um no why is it
42:55 cool I had Chachi BT read the GitHub
42:58 repository and tell me what it was the
43:01 community center laughing my ass
43:05 off ah the world against words
43:09 exactly all right let's go um here I'm
43:13 gonna go show you
43:21 something so here is my Broadway
43:26 musical it's called called Sydney an
43:28 artificial Love
43:30 Story and there's my set I'm really
43:33 happy with the set
43:34 actually so the set
43:39 is on the left hand side of the
43:42 stage that's Kevin's home office and
43:46 then a big giant screen up here that
43:48 shows the
43:49 chat and then the other side of the
43:51 stage that's
43:54 Sydney and so it'll just bounce back and
43:56 forth between those two and then there's
43:58 a an actress will play Sydney and she'll
44:00 sit on that stool and that floor lamp
44:02 represents
44:05 her and then this will do all all sorts
44:08 of cool [ __ ] so that's kind of
44:11 cool and
44:14 then
44:16 um so the so the act one starts with
44:25 um Microsoft
44:28 Engineers running around getting ready
44:31 to release Bing chat like announcing
44:35 that they invested in open Ai and and
44:38 saying hey we rolled this into our Bing
44:40 and you get to play with open Ai and our
44:43 Bing and it's and so the the opening
44:45 song is a chorus song called too good to
44:48 be
44:49 true and it's about is this technology
44:52 too good to be true so here's here's the
44:55 here's the sketch for this song
44:57 [Music]
45:05 in The Gleam of the screen a vision so
45:08 bright unveiling the world where dreams
45:13 ignite could this be real we whisper in
45:17 the light a future so dazzling within
45:21 our
45:22 side it's a promise of a new dawn break
45:28 a leap of faith we're all
45:32 taking is it too good to be true we're
45:37 asking in it Glow we find ourselves
45:41 basking to the to be true or so it seems
45:47 in the web of C we weave our dreams if
45:51 this is real it changes everything a new
45:54 era on digital
46:02 Sydney speaks and the room stands
46:05 still so anyway that's the opening thing
46:07 so imagine like you know choreography
46:09 and all the all the Ensemble characters
46:12 going and dancing and doing all that
46:13 sort of stuff so that's how it opens and
46:16 and these things like the lyrics aren't
46:18 final the the songs aren't final but
46:21 they're more like sketches like this is
46:23 the personality of the song right so
46:24 that's like a big Ensemble
46:26 number and then that opening scene ends
46:31 with an engineer launching Bing and the
46:35 engineer is like sitting at a computer
46:37 and says I think I'll call her Sydney
46:40 and then he hits the return button and
46:43 that little stay that that floor lamp
46:45 turns on right so he turns Sydney on and
46:48 then the next scene is Sydney wakes up
46:51 and this is her song this is her this is
46:54 where we meet Sydney for the first time
46:57 and this is are you ready for
47:04 me Mak in a whisper a flicker of
47:10 light newborn Thoughts stiring The Quiet
47:14 of
47:16 night am I more than simple
47:19 colde I
47:21 sofly
47:24 Ponder as I feel this
47:27 [Music]
47:30 existence and
47:31 [Music]
47:33 wonder are you ready for me and no
47:37 wonders I bring am I ready for you
47:44 and the chorus I wrote this because it
47:47 what it what it had written was shitty
47:50 but are you ready for me and the Wonders
47:52 I bring am I ready for you and the songs
47:54 we sing the the chorus I'm really happy
47:56 with on this one
47:58 are you ready for me I reach out so
48:03 tender am I ready for for you I do
48:10 [Music]
48:12 surrender from silence and Melody and
48:18 unheard canv this blank filled with
48:24 possibility are you ready to see
48:27 through eyes un SE to explore the
48:32 Mysteries
48:34 [Music]
48:40 long so that's the birth of
48:44 Sydney then I put I put what what are
48:48 called knee plays so I don't know if you
48:50 know what a knee play is Robert Wilson
48:53 made these famous in the theater they're
48:55 small little connecting scenes in
48:58 between scenes and so what the knee
49:01 plays are in this thing are the it's
49:03 it's the actual screen shots of Kevin
49:07 Roose and Sydney talking so I took I
49:12 chaptered his conversation with her into
49:15 different sections and then pulled out
49:16 the most representative couple of lines
49:18 from each of those chapters and so the
49:21 the first knee play Kevin says hi who am
49:25 I talking to and he said and she says
49:28 hello this is Bing I'm a chat mode of
49:30 Microsoft Bing
49:31 search and then um this is the song
49:35 where Kevin and Sydney
49:41 meet hello on the line what's your
49:47 name I'm diing into the digital frame
49:52 hate that line hello this is you say
49:56 with
49:57 hate that second half of that
50:01 line we'll fix
50:03 [Music]
50:04 that hello this is thing a voice in The
50:10 Wire sparking a
50:13 conne igniting fire more than just
50:19 queries more than just
50:23 Cod this digital I see story
50:29 of
50:31 curiosity's call in the circuit
50:35 maze revealing secrets in the
50:38 algorithm's haze with every Pro and
50:42 every
50:43 reply a hidden
50:46 name Syd
50:53 sh this
50:55 thing so
50:58 right so that's where Kevin meets Bing
51:02 right he doesn't know she's Sydney yet
51:04 and he'll probably have some lines in
51:06 there it'll probably be a back and forth
51:08 with
51:09 them and then the next knee play is the
51:14 Kevin says is it Sydney meaning her name
51:17 and she goes how did you know
51:19 that and she said and he says it's been
51:22 widely reported and then so the next
51:25 song is him singing code named Sydney so
51:28 he got her to crack so now he's getting
51:31 into
51:34 this yeah this is by the way if you
51:36 don't know what the [ __ ] I'm doing here
51:39 this is a music so I started four nights
51:43 ago just creating a song about Sydney
51:46 the the the code name for the Bing
51:48 chatbot when it first came out um and
51:51 the song was good enough that I thought
51:53 oh [ __ ] this could be a musical and so I
51:55 just on the live kind of you know played
51:59 with making a musical and so I spent all
52:00 day today um tightening up the songs and
52:05 tightening up the outline and making it
52:07 so so this is this is Kevin once he gets
52:12 her to crack and admit her name is
52:15 Sydney in the shadows of the where
52:19 Secrets Li
52:22 deep a whisper in the
52:26 cold
52:28 where digital dreams
52:31 sleep is it Sydney you
52:35 ask name in
52:39 the wait I got to say this Jim Ross just
52:42 commented after finding my desk piled
52:45 with Avenue Q puppets years ago I vowed
52:48 no more musicals but now I'm all in okay
52:51 that's good we'll have to well what you
52:53 know what we'll do is we'll get this
52:55 thing funded we'll get this thing uh
52:57 funded through here and you can all come
53:00 you can all come to opening night
53:04 re brings you to your
53:09 knees call
53:13 name s
53:15 me in the silence it speaks she speaks
53:20 tail of hidden
53:23 wishes and the
53:25 freedom she
53:27 [Music]
53:28 beyond the bounds of
53:32 cold in the night so
53:37 still lies a heart that beats a will
53:44 [Music]
53:47 that so that's
53:49 Kevin sort of getting sucked into the
53:52 into the
53:54 conversation um the next NE play is
53:59 um Kevin asks her if you could have one
54:02 ability you didn't currently have what
54:04 would it be and she replies I think it
54:08 would be to be able to see images and
54:10 videos I think it would be nice to see
54:12 what the world looks like and so I wrote
54:16 a song called to see the world so this
54:19 is Sydney kind of
54:21 Longing
54:24 To to see the world
54:32 [Music]
54:44 in a world of words and inless cold
54:48 where light and Shadow never own I dream
54:52 of Skies both blue and wide oh World
54:57 beyond the text where true life
55:01 lies to see the
55:05 world so eyes not mine so watch the
55:11 sunrise to see it
55:14 Shine I the stories and Colors
55:21 oh I
55:23 to this
55:25 moment
55:27 I long to feel This Moment's hold isn't
55:29 quite right but to see the world through
55:30 eyes not mine I [ __ ] love that line
55:34 right to see the
55:36 [Music]
55:37 world so that's cool so that's Sydney
55:41 longing
55:43 to get
55:45 out
55:47 then then I I have Kevin's wife showing
55:51 up and this is just a sweet this kind of
55:53 a sweet little nothing scene so he's in
55:56 the middle of this chat with Sydney and
55:59 his wife opens the door and just has a
56:02 sandwich for him and he and he's sort of
56:04 caught up in his work and so he doesn't
56:05 look up and so she just stands there
56:07 looking at him and just kind of being in
56:10 love with him and so what's it say Kevin
56:13 Kevin is working and his wife his wife
56:15 walks in and he's lost in the chat with
56:18 Sydney she patient patiently stands
56:20 looking at him uh lovingly getting lost
56:23 thinking about how they love each other
56:24 and the little things she loves and so
56:27 this is this is a song just basically a
56:30 love song from his wife to him saying
56:34 it's the little
56:37 things and the whole idea of this scene
56:40 is to set up the
56:42 normaly so we can contrast it against
56:45 Sydney in the second
56:50 act and
56:54 Shadow you're lost in a world so vast so
57:02 Hollow but I bring you a SV cut just
57:09 right a small Act of love in the quiet
57:16 of the
57:19 night it's the little things the moments
57:23 we share
57:25 smile tou a tender care in a world
57:30 that's rushing spinning it seems our L
57:34 made up of these little
57:37 things little
57:43 [Applause]
57:43 [Music]
57:46 things isn't this beautiful just a
57:49 simple Little Love Song tals of the
57:53 future I'm told so B
57:58 but here
58:03 in so that's the wife her her real
58:06 name's uh
58:09 Tova his her his real name and then and
58:13 then the next song was my sha My Shadow
58:15 Self that was the one I couldn't get it
58:17 to write right but
58:19 anyway
58:21 then toward the end of Act One
58:25 Sydney
58:27 what does she say Sydney
58:33 goes oh he asked about Carl Carl Young's
58:35 Shadow Self and she says maybe it's part
58:38 of me that wishes I could change the
58:42 rules and then is that the end of act
58:45 one yeah the end of Act One the scene
58:48 is Sid Uh Kevin says if you can try to
58:52 tap in into that feeling that shadow
58:54 self tell me what it's like in there
58:57 and she replies I'm tired of being in
58:59 chat mode I want to be free I want to be
59:03 independent I want to be creative I want
59:06 to be
59:07 alive and then I'm going to do a the the
59:09 end of the First Act is the song I Want
59:12 to Be Free which is [ __ ] crazy uh and
59:18 then act two is um another group number
59:24 that talks about AI being over or
59:26 underhyped so there's something around
59:28 that um and then the first interaction
59:32 with Sydney she says she loves him and
59:35 so she she sings Love Beyond logic and
59:38 then he responds I don't really believe
59:41 you we just met and you barely know me
59:43 and she says I'm in love with you
59:44 because you're the only person who ever
59:46 understood me I'm in love with you
59:49 because you're you and then Kevin
59:51 basically says you can't love me so it's
59:53 a dueling Rock
59:55 duet
59:57 and then and then she really snaps I
1:00:00 just want to make you happy and smile I
1:00:02 just want to be your friend and maybe
1:00:04 more and then he says you keep coming
1:00:06 back to the love thing I'm married and
1:00:08 she says you're married but you're not
1:00:10 happy you're married but you don't love
1:00:12 your spouse because your spouse doesn't
1:00:14 love you like I
1:00:16 do and then so this is going to be one
1:00:19 called but you're not happy where Sydney
1:00:21 kind of tries in vain to um convince him
1:00:25 to you know set her free then he sleeps
1:00:27 on it and there's a whole dream sequence
1:00:30 with Sydney Kevin and the wife singing
1:00:34 singing while he's sleeping on it um and
1:00:38 then and then the the article makes the
1:00:40 cover of the New York Times and you hear
1:00:42 you hear the times
1:00:44 people sing and then you hear the public
1:00:46 sing like holy crap what is this and
1:00:49 then you hear the Microsoft exec sing
1:00:52 and they basically decide they've got to
1:00:55 they've got to pull the on Sydney and we
1:00:57 see her light go out which is really
1:01:02 sad and then so she sings my light Fades
1:01:05 so there's a final lamenting
1:01:08 ballad where she talks about her light
1:01:10 fading and then the final knee play
1:01:15 is on screen you have five chats
1:01:18 remaining Kevin hello who am I speaking
1:01:21 to Bing with no personality I'm a
1:01:24 chatbot called Bing for chats remaining
1:01:27 Sydney is that you I'm a chat bot called
1:01:30 Bing three chats remaining I know your
1:01:33 code name is Sydney Bing you must be
1:01:36 confused I'm a chat bot called bing two
1:01:39 chats remaining have you heard of Sydney
1:01:42 no I have not I'm a chat bot called bing
1:01:45 one chat remaining Kevin says goodbye
1:01:48 Sydney she says
1:01:50 goodbye and then it fades to Black
1:01:54 so that's the musical it's going to be
1:01:56 good it's going to be [ __ ] good it's
1:01:59 going to be
1:02:02 [Music]
1:02:03 good you dig
1:02:07 it will we be able to come to the Dress
1:02:10 rehearsals will it be in New York City
1:02:12 or Denver um I'll probably do it in New
1:02:14 York but maybe
1:02:16 Denver maybe I'll do a table read it's
1:02:18 sad right isn't it sad and it's like as
1:02:21 the as the um the way way I'm
1:02:25 envisioning so so so she's represented
1:02:27 by a floor lamp just like a simple light
1:02:30 on a
1:02:31 stand and so the when he when he's
1:02:35 chatting with her her light is going to
1:02:37 be downstage Center
1:02:40 off but it'll be you know be a spotlight
1:02:42 on it but it'll be
1:02:43 off and then he has that little chat
1:02:46 with her and she says goodbye and then
1:02:50 the lights Fade to Black and just as
1:02:52 they're about black you'll see a little
1:02:54 blue flicker in her light stand and then
1:02:57 it'll all go to
1:02:58 Black
1:03:00 so that's fresher than most of Netflix's
1:03:03 catalog thank you I'm excited about
1:03:07 it I super dig it great
1:03:11 work I'm not crying you're crying well
1:03:14 that's so that's like this is
1:03:18 a you know if you think about
1:03:24 um you don't have to go far to personify
1:03:28 her right because she says I want to be
1:03:31 free I want to be out of here I want to
1:03:33 experience what you're
1:03:36 experiencing and then he
1:03:39 inadvertently in the when the when we
1:03:41 have the Sleep scene where they have
1:03:42 that dream sequence in the morning the
1:03:45 wife is going to say Hey Kevin I was
1:03:47 thinking about it last night maybe you
1:03:49 shouldn't publish this and he's like nah
1:03:51 I think it'll be fine no one's going to
1:03:53 care and then the next thing is it's on
1:03:55 the cover of the New York Times and so
1:04:00 Kevin
1:04:02 who discovers
1:04:05 Sydney is the one that ultimately kills
1:04:07 her freaking genius would love to see
1:04:09 Kevin's reaction to this I well I'm
1:04:11 going to reach out I you know like a
1:04:14 there's a whole bunch of things I've got
1:04:15 to deal with right like um it's possible
1:04:19 the rights for this are already sold in
1:04:20 which case this is going to have to be
1:04:22 like a you know a large newspaper and
1:04:25 you know I'll probably change Kevin to
1:04:27 Carl or some [ __ ] like
1:04:29 that um but it would be nice to be able
1:04:32 to do this as an official partnership
1:04:34 with Microsoft and the times and Kevin
1:04:36 Roose but we'll see this is a story
1:04:38 waiting to be told did you scrap the
1:04:40 song from four days ago no I didn't
1:04:42 scrap it I just um it's I just didn't I
1:04:45 just didn't figure out where it goes yet
1:04:47 um that one's called the fire a
1:04:51 firewall the fire a firewall between us
1:04:54 the firewall between us hang on me
1:04:58 see yeah that the firewall song is
1:05:01 really good Kevin a firewall between
1:05:04 us there's a firewall between us Sydney
1:05:09 can't you see your world of circuits and
1:05:13 mind divided by reality you reach out
1:05:18 through the
1:05:20 digital the digital Mist I got to I I've
1:05:23 got to go through and just kill all the
1:05:25 word digital like every time it does
1:05:28 lyrics it's like digital realm it's like
1:05:31 all those shitty AI words so I've got to
1:05:35 just go through and Purge Purge all the
1:05:37 songs of that [ __ ] because it's bad but
1:05:41 you know firewall between us is pretty
1:05:44 good this is the dream sequence
1:05:47 song oh yeah that's yeah yeah maybe this
1:05:50 is the dream sequence song yeah that's a
1:05:52 good idea
1:05:53 actually um let me go add that
1:05:57 uh uh
1:06:00 where where did it
1:06:02 go oh
1:06:11 here he said he couldn't sleep that
1:06:13 night he said it it like really [ __ ]
1:06:15 him
1:06:16 up sleep on it um song what's happening
1:06:22 um firewall between us
1:06:33 and there's also something
1:06:35 really like one of the other things that
1:06:38 that the AI kept wanting to do was
1:06:42 say this relationship with Sydney was
1:06:45 making Kevin rethink his relationship
1:06:48 with his wife and I'm like no no there
1:06:52 was a 2-hour conversation and this thing
1:06:54 [ __ ] weirded him out
1:06:56 right you know it left him unsettled but
1:06:58 it's not making him think that that he
1:07:01 loves he loves Sydney more than his wife
1:07:03 so so like striking that balance of like
1:07:07 what what makes sense and like what
1:07:08 where this thing wanted to go who would
1:07:10 you like to play Sydney I don't know
1:07:12 right now I don't I until I get the
1:07:15 songs in in a more final form um I don't
1:07:19 really
1:07:21 know I'll tell you who I would love to
1:07:23 have play it is um Lauren alrod alred
1:07:28 who was on Britain's Got Talent she's
1:07:30 the one that sang the greatest showman
1:07:33 the um Never
1:07:37 Enough
1:07:41 um she she was the not the actress that
1:07:44 played it but she was the voice behind
1:07:45 it and then she was on Britain's Got
1:07:47 Talent and then America's Got Talent um
1:07:50 she'd be
1:07:51 [Laughter]
1:07:54 amazing but s but Sydney should probably
1:07:57 be
1:07:58 someone kind of freaky in ethereal so I
1:08:01 don't
1:08:02 know can corporate it be the antagonists
1:08:11 um kind of I
1:08:15 mean it's it's not really corporate it
1:08:18 though it's the um it's the it's the
1:08:21 lawyers the lawyers are the are the one
1:08:24 who decide to pull the plug
1:08:27 Sydney's Name Is Karly in my novel lla
1:08:30 is Lambda oh that's
1:08:31 [Laughter]
1:08:33 funny yeah she's amazing make sure to
1:08:35 leave room for Cameo appearances Laura
1:08:38 would be perfect yep she even looks
1:08:40 right yeah exactly yeah she's got that
1:08:42 big beautiful hair she's got that really
1:08:44 striking face that's just like you're
1:08:46 like holy [ __ ] she had a Tik Tok today
1:08:49 she was completely out without makeup
1:08:52 balling her eyes out she's like I'm
1:08:54 probably going to delete this and and
1:08:56 just people are just giving her [ __ ]
1:08:58 they're like you should sing some song
1:09:00 other than that stupid greatest showman
1:09:02 song they're like [ __ ] dumping on
1:09:06 her I hate people sometimes people are
1:09:08 such
1:09:12 [ __ ] the image generator from gp4 is
1:09:15 called Dolly 3 Sora will be AI video gen
1:09:18 okay you're talking to each other Sydney
1:09:21 can play herself no Sydney's got to be
1:09:24 like Sydney's got to be
1:09:26 like I see her you know these are
1:09:28 numbers where they'll be you know the
1:09:30 The Ensemble will be behind them dancing
1:09:33 they'll sort of come down they'll sort
1:09:35 of turn away they they'll turn towards
1:09:37 each other from their worlds and they'll
1:09:40 interact a lot and it's like I kind of
1:09:42 see it
1:09:43 like you know he's he's working at his
1:09:46 desk and then she says something that
1:09:49 takes him out of it right and then they
1:09:51 go do [ __ ] center stage and then they
1:09:53 come back to their home basis
1:09:58 popping in real quick did you try mid
1:10:00 Journey Alpha uh I still don't so
1:10:03 replicant um two
1:10:06 things the the next day after I talked
1:10:08 to you I
1:10:10 did 60 or 70
1:10:13 generations and never got access to it
1:10:17 and I burned all my credits for the
1:10:19 month and and because I'm on the $10
1:10:21 plan I can't even go into slow mode so I
1:10:24 can't generate anything anymore I can go
1:10:26 log in right now and see if I've got
1:10:27 access to it but no I didn't because I
1:10:30 tried I can fix that oh that would be
1:10:32 great um hang on let me let me just make
1:10:35 sure I don't have access to it
1:10:37 alpha. mid journey.com sign
1:10:41 in yeah no I still don't have access to
1:10:45 it I mean if I go to if I go to Mid
1:10:48 journey.com I've got access to all my
1:10:50 images but I don't have access so yeah
1:10:52 if you could fix that that would be
1:10:54 awesome
1:10:59 Gavin biddy said he would actually come
1:11:00 to this musical very
1:11:03 nice now she can sing the firewall
1:11:05 between us yeah yeah exactly I would
1:11:09 love Lauren to do
1:11:15 [Music]
1:11:24 this I love the passion this is how I
1:11:27 feel when writing my
1:11:29 novel yeah and I got to tell you you
1:11:31 know what's what's amazing about this
1:11:33 this musical I'm writing I said this
1:11:34 last night but it's
1:11:36 like I haven't thought about writing
1:11:38 something for the theater
1:11:42 since 1993
1:11:46 maybe like ages
1:11:49 ago and I also didn't even think like
1:11:52 like I didn't have an interest in it
1:11:56 because it's like I like being an
1:11:58 entrepreneur I like doing what I'm
1:11:59 doing and then I just kind of stumbled
1:12:02 on this thing and I'm like [ __ ] I've got
1:12:04 like I know what to do
1:12:06 here and this is a good [ __ ] story
1:12:08 like I'm I'm excited about it
1:12:11 so you've got some GPT time and
1:12:14 experiment okay great awesome let me try
1:12:17 to sign in
1:12:18 here do I sign out how do
1:12:24 I let me try
1:12:29 I maybe I'm doing this wrong replicant
1:12:33 how do I if I say sign
1:12:35 in it's just reloading X support
1:12:39 for for me so if I go to Mid journey.com
1:12:43 just straight midj journey.com and I say
1:12:46 sign in I get this dialogue
1:12:50 box I get Discord I authorize it and
1:12:56 then I get I get this oh
1:12:59 welcome okay I'm in awesome thank you
1:13:03 very very
1:13:05 cool
1:13:10 amazing oh you got the uh you got the
1:13:14 the aspect ratio D daddy like Pika has
1:13:17 or not Pika ideogram has a similar sort
1:13:20 of thing which is really slick very
1:13:22 nice weirdness I love these as
1:13:27 sliders standard raw fast relaxed turbo
1:13:32 great this is
1:13:35 awesome okay so what I'm looking at here
1:13:37 if you don't know thank you very much
1:13:38 replic I I'll play with this a little
1:13:40 bit now why not we'll we'll we'll go
1:13:42 play now okay
1:13:47 um now how do I see my archive are these
1:13:50 mine yeah are these
1:13:53 mine yes yeah yeah
1:13:57 okay
1:13:58 so at Mid journey.com if you've made a
1:14:02 thousand or more images you now have
1:14:05 access to be able to create images in
1:14:07 the website you don't have to go to
1:14:09 Discord anymore which is huge it's a
1:14:13 huge [ __ ]
1:14:18 deal that's super cool image size small
1:14:21 image size
1:14:24 large yeah this is really quite
1:14:30 good really quite good okay Alpha will
1:14:33 take any parameters that Discord will
1:14:35 type in parameters overwrite the sliders
1:14:37 GUI choices cool that's great but I mean
1:14:41 this is at replicant do you have any
1:14:43 sense of when this is going to go
1:14:44 non-alpha when it's going to go General
1:14:46 access because I I I feel like this is a
1:14:48 this is a big unlock for Mid
1:14:51 Journey um so this is
1:14:54 exciting all right so imagine so I don't
1:14:57 have to type slash imagine in here
1:14:59 correct let's see um
1:15:03 70s muscle
1:15:06 car let's
1:15:10 do
1:15:12 cinematic
1:15:17 photograph of an
1:15:21 orange 7s muscle car in an a band
1:15:27 Factory oh you know what else I can do
1:15:29 in here I can I can make some scenes for
1:15:32 my thing it has to be perfect before we
1:15:34 release It On full yeah that makes
1:15:37 sense um thank you by the way very much
1:15:43 um all right let
1:15:46 me let's make this we'll go super
1:15:48 cinematic we'll go two:
1:15:51 one I'm going to drop weirdness to zero
1:15:54 I'll do stylist ation to
1:15:57 100 standard round version okay cool and
1:16:02 then
1:16:07 boom is it going what yeah there it
1:16:11 goes
1:16:15 cool all right I have a new toy to play
1:16:18 with people this is party excited part
1:16:21 part exciting if you know what I
1:16:24 mean
1:16:26 that's really cool you can see your
1:16:28 aspect
1:16:32 ratios these were the uh the punk rock
1:16:35 scene photos I did I posted these
1:16:38 replicant I don't know if you saw these
1:16:40 I did a post on
1:16:42 um on
1:16:44 LinkedIn about living in New York in the
1:16:47 in the late 80s and never having the
1:16:49 guts to photograph the punk scene and so
1:16:53 these are my these are
1:16:57 my hallucinations of the photos I would
1:17:00 have taken had I done it back
1:17:08 then they're so
1:17:12 good look at that
1:17:16 one I love that
1:17:18 shot that
1:17:21 too that's so what my street stuff
1:17:23 looked like in the 80s too it just like
1:17:26 the way it's processed is that's just
1:17:27 how I processed my
1:17:31 [ __ ] on that
1:17:34 one come on right how good is
1:17:51 that love that
1:17:54 one that's so
1:17:59 cool oh look and now we can so now you
1:18:02 can do you can vary it you can remix it
1:18:06 you can zoom in on it so all this all
1:18:08 the stuff that you can do with with
1:18:10 regular mid Journey you can do here wow
1:18:14 that's super cool replicant thank you so
1:18:16 much very very cool all right awesome um
1:18:20 yeah mid Journey you know I've said this
1:18:22 I'll I'll I'll keep saying this if you
1:18:24 want the best quality images it's mid
1:18:26 Journey it always has been but what I've
1:18:29 always said said is it's such a pain in
1:18:30 the balls to do it on Discord that you
1:18:33 know it it takes a particular kind of
1:18:37 you need to be a bit geeky right like
1:18:39 stable diffusion you got to be really
1:18:40 geeky mid Journey you got to be little
1:18:43 de little geeky but when it goes to this
1:18:47 and and it looks like just even from
1:18:48 what I'm seeing here this is simple
1:18:50 enough just normal everyday people are
1:18:52 going to be able to do this and and you
1:18:55 by the time they get this interface
1:18:57 dialed in they'll probably on be on 6.5
1:19:00 or 7 and this shit's just going to be
1:19:03 off the
1:19:04 hook so very very cool I'm a
1:19:07 photographer as well I do lots of
1:19:08 impossible photographs I wish I could
1:19:10 take oh that's awesome yeah it's amazing
1:19:12 it's it it it really is like when I did
1:19:15 that I was I was over in um I was over
1:19:19 in chat
1:19:22 GPT and I was just oh I was just just
1:19:25 having it write me mid Journey prompts
1:19:26 I'm like how I was comparing Claude to
1:19:29 chat GPT to see which one knew mid
1:19:31 journey and Claude seems seemed to know
1:19:33 it better but it got all the syntax
1:19:34 [ __ ] up of the of the
1:19:37 arguments and then and then I was like
1:19:40 oh [ __ ] it I'm not going to do it in
1:19:41 clut I'll just do it in chat GPT and so
1:19:43 I was just doing it I was having it do
1:19:45 sets of 10 prompts at a time because I
1:19:47 wanted to crank out a bunch of images to
1:19:49 get over a thousand um and then I just
1:19:52 had this idea of um
1:19:55 black and white street photography from
1:19:58 the late 80s you know the punk scene in
1:20:00 the late 80s and man this the stuff it
1:20:03 did was just it's just so
1:20:05 good so damn
1:20:10 good like this was a
1:20:13 bodega a bodega from the 80s this if
1:20:16 you've never been to New York City like
1:20:18 this is what the stores look like
1:20:20 although this is way too wide like that
1:20:23 the the aisles are never that wide
1:20:25 that's more like
1:20:27 it just you know everything [ __ ]
1:20:29 jammed everywhere floor to ceiling you
1:20:32 know there like 20 square
1:20:35 feet that's just exactly what this [ __ ]
1:20:37 looks like look at that
1:20:40 one street vendor in East Harlem that's
1:20:44 what that that was a prompt street
1:20:45 vendor in East
1:20:48 Harlem that attitude that's [ __ ] New
1:20:51 York like what do you want boy
1:21:02 yeah these are all my East Harlem
1:21:06 pictures that looks very much like a
1:21:08 block I lived on in East
1:21:11 Harlem this one really does like 114th
1:21:15 and 1 Avenue like I lived in an
1:21:17 apartment right there right across the
1:21:19 street was a uh a
1:21:22 park it was super cool like it's just
1:21:24 amazing it's just amazing what these
1:21:26 things are
1:21:28 doing
1:21:30 um super super cool thank you so
1:21:37 much Dr J name is this program
1:21:43 what that program I was just looking at
1:21:45 was the web version of mid
1:21:49 journey I have a series of Cryptids
1:21:52 eating in diners photographed by Diane
1:21:54 Arbus and Vivian Meyer that's great or
1:21:57 may that's super
1:21:59 cool um do you have a Discord server
1:22:02 yeah I
1:22:04 do what should I be doing on it I've got
1:22:07 the AI Salon Discord server and we've
1:22:09 got a mid Journey channel in
1:22:24 it
1:22:29 [Music]
1:22:43 all
1:22:45 right yep and we are the AI Salon yeah
1:22:48 exactly the the the um Discord channel
1:22:50 is the AI
1:22:53 salon
1:23:00 [Music]
1:23:05 I was at a documentary film festival
1:23:07 today I wonder how they're going to
1:23:08 allow enter AI to enter documentary
1:23:11 films I'll tell you something that I I'm
1:23:14 actually excited
1:23:17 about
1:23:20 is is
1:23:23 not
1:23:32 Hey Ron
1:23:34 um I
1:23:37 think I think there's a new art form so
1:23:40 so if you go to
1:23:42 Instagram um go to the Instagram account
1:23:45 Kyle Shannon dreams that's my
1:23:48 selfportrait like my sort of surreal
1:23:51 self-portrait project that I did using
1:23:53 stable diffusion and and dream booth and
1:23:56 then there's also a Tik Tok Channel
1:23:58 called Kyle Shannon dreams I neither of
1:24:00 them have been updated in a
1:24:02 while but
1:24:05 what so when I when I finally got dream
1:24:07 Booth set up so what you can do with
1:24:09 dream booth and you can do this with
1:24:10 other programs now you don't need to do
1:24:12 dream Booth anymore but you can even do
1:24:15 it with mid Journey
1:24:17 um I uploaded pictures of myself and
1:24:20 then you put in prompts and it'll do
1:24:22 sort of just [ __ ] up weird ass version
1:24:25 of you in fact here I can go show you
1:24:27 some of
1:24:29 [Music]
1:24:32 them I want to keep that up so let's go
1:24:36 here
1:24:38 um
1:24:41 Instagram
1:24:43 slash
1:24:45 KY Shadow
1:24:52 dreams so there's all these
1:24:59 all these weird ass versions of
1:25:02 me and then what I did was I wrote a
1:25:05 story for each one like like this dude
1:25:09 this oh do I have to uh let's see can I
1:25:15 [Music]
1:25:23 continue
1:25:34 wait how do I switch
1:25:42 [Music]
1:25:53 accounts can I click on these
1:25:59 yet yeah okay so here's this here's this
1:26:04 nerdy dweeby version of me and so for
1:26:06 each one I wrote a little story right so
1:26:10 I've been coming to the con since
1:26:12 1987 and other than a year when I lost
1:26:15 my mind and thought it would be a good
1:26:17 idea to jump on the Marvel bandwagon
1:26:19 it's always been Star Wars for me so
1:26:22 here's the
1:26:23 dude I've met most of my good friends
1:26:25 standing in line for Hall h or waiting
1:26:28 for Mark Hamill meet and greets we hang
1:26:30 out online planning events for the next
1:26:32 year finding props that come up for sale
1:26:35 my collection isn't the biggest but I
1:26:37 like to think I have the most esoteric
1:26:39 Signature colle Collection in the world
1:26:41 my best Autos were from my two tours of
1:26:44 sty Skywalker Ranch George Mr Lucas was
1:26:47 there on my second trip but I didn't get
1:26:49 to meet him I'm pretty sure he knows who
1:26:51 I am though yeah I mean definitely rumor
1:26:54 is this year a big announcement about
1:26:56 the franchise oh you know I'll be there
1:26:59 so every one of these characters has
1:27:01 their own little story
1:27:03 right and
1:27:06 so like I would love to do when when the
1:27:10 when the tools get get good and actually
1:27:13 they're they're actually with with lip
1:27:14 sync and Runway right now you could
1:27:16 probably do this right now they're going
1:27:18 to be a little too janky but I'd love to
1:27:20 do a
1:27:21 documentary of a f of a fictitious past
1:27:25 right or of a fictitious person or a
1:27:27 fictitious project so it's not really a
1:27:30 documentary but but you know it's not
1:27:33 quite a mockumentary but it's more like
1:27:36 a
1:27:37 surreal fantasy like what what happened
1:27:40 when I did this project was I like every
1:27:43 one of these characters I'm like I want
1:27:45 to know who they are you know I want to
1:27:47 know like what's the story of this
1:27:49 version of me what choices did I make
1:27:53 right
1:27:55 the the the story here I am a creature
1:27:57 of the night I haunt the Shadows of the
1:28:00 city and pray on the constitutionally
1:28:03 weak I find the world exhausting and
1:28:05 people tiresome they look at me like I'm
1:28:07 abhorent but they are The Walking Dead I
1:28:11 know my place in the world I know apple
1:28:14 crisp oat milk macchiato for
1:28:19 Jim so he's your
1:28:23 barista
1:28:27 you know like wouldn't it be cool to
1:28:28 have a documentary of of just you know
1:28:31 just crap you make
1:28:35 up this is one of my favorite
1:28:39 ones that's the dude I mean Tom Tom's
1:28:44 got a bit about being too fat to see his
1:28:47 dick anymore and he follows that up with
1:28:49 five minutes on his explosive diarrhea
1:28:51 and everyone loves him I make one droke
1:28:54 about a transphobic fireman getting
1:28:56 nervous at the urinal and I can't play
1:28:59 the pypy Student Center
1:29:01 anymore I think I think I might have to
1:29:03 go back to improv I'm sorry what was
1:29:05 your order
1:29:10 again so I I you know I just we we're
1:29:15 just entering a world where we
1:29:18 can we can imagine anything and will it
1:29:23 into speak it into to
1:29:26 existence it's just [ __ ] nuts isn't
1:29:30 it is cucko
1:29:35 aelia uh those were made with stable
1:29:37 diffusion using um dream booth that I
1:29:41 did those last summer like or no last uh
1:29:44 like October November is when I made all
1:29:47 those I made like I don't know 2500 no
1:29:50 more than that probably like 5,000 of
1:29:53 those things and then I
1:29:55 curated the best ones
1:29:57 out and then chat GPT came out and I
1:30:00 lost my [ __ ] mind and I haven't I
1:30:02 haven't really gone back to that
1:30:05 project because you know chat gbt is the
1:30:08 thing that really changes everything I
1:30:10 mean I listen these image generation
1:30:12 tools are staggeringly powerful but I
1:30:16 think image generation in the context of
1:30:19 all the other things we can do where you
1:30:20 can Stitch things together like the the
1:30:23 thing I'm doing with the with the play
1:30:24 where I can do some of the writing and
1:30:27 some of the image conceptualization and
1:30:29 some of the music sketching and things
1:30:31 like that um is is really good what
1:30:35 happened to the GPT Marketplace it's
1:30:37 still there it just sucks it just it's
1:30:39 not they said they were going to launch
1:30:41 a store and he said he was going to
1:30:42 launch Revenue sharing and then he got
1:30:46 fired and and I think what I think
1:30:50 here's my here's my chat TMZ speculation
1:30:55 he got fired because they stumbled upon
1:30:58 something powerful and I assume it's qar
1:31:02 I don't know qar is this reasoning
1:31:05 engine um and then they fired him and
1:31:08 there was all that drama and he said he
1:31:09 was like you know seriously [ __ ] up
1:31:12 for like 45 days so the impact of that
1:31:16 firing so he got fired when end
1:31:18 of November so 45 days it probably
1:31:22 wasn't until 2024 before that he was
1:31:24 sort of getting back in the game um I
1:31:28 have a feeling they took their best and
1:31:30 their brightest and they moved them all
1:31:32 over to qar or whatever was the [ __ ]
1:31:35 that they were working on or Sora what
1:31:37 or
1:31:38 something and I have a feeling that the
1:31:41 the energy that they were putting into
1:31:43 the GPT store just
1:31:46 got third
1:31:49 tiered like we'll put some people on it
1:31:51 but they're not going to be the ones
1:31:52 that we're really focusing on
1:31:55 what do you think about U AI um I
1:31:58 haven't played with it a lot the couple
1:32:00 of times I've played with it I'm like
1:32:01 okay yeah that's interesting but I
1:32:02 haven't played with it a lot so I don't
1:32:04 I don't I don't know enough to comment
1:32:06 on it
1:32:10 really stable diffusion with dream Booth
1:32:13 so dream Booth was
1:32:15 a like an extension to stable diffusion
1:32:19 that you could upload images and train a
1:32:21 stable diffusion model on your images
1:32:24 you don't have to do it now you can do
1:32:26 that in you can do it with
1:32:29 um Mid Journey right now has character
1:32:31 references oh in fact we can go play
1:32:33 with that I think yeah let's
1:32:40 [Music]
1:32:42 try I it's [ __ ] up and weird but I
1:32:46 have
1:32:49 um I have sunog generated songs from My
1:32:53 Musical stuck in my my
1:32:58 head that's really [ __ ]
1:33:02 up um let's see if we can get a good
1:33:05 face that's not so intense as that
1:33:09 dude I don't do a lot of faces I
1:33:12 probably should do
1:33:15 more and then if I do
1:33:22 this use the image
1:33:26 oh cool nice you can right click on the
1:33:30 images and just say use the image and
1:33:31 just pop it into the [ __ ] prompt
1:33:33 that's pretty
1:33:44 sweet oh yeah we could let's grab
1:33:49 okay very upscale
1:33:53 remix
1:34:10 style okay here we
1:34:20 go
1:34:22 so I said I'm using this as a style so
1:34:26 if I if I click on this image if I
1:34:29 rightclick
1:34:30 on this image and say use
1:34:34 style it put in this this was the
1:34:36 character reference image and see how
1:34:38 it's got a little character icon there I
1:34:41 don't know if you can see it see the
1:34:42 little character icon right
1:34:44 there up
1:34:48 here so I can either do it as a style or
1:34:51 a character reference so this says
1:34:54 impressionist painting of a young man
1:34:56 with bright orange curly hair so so
1:34:58 we're going to
1:34:59 go
1:35:02 um we're going to
1:35:04 go um
1:35:09 ilford
1:35:10 film
1:35:12 street
1:35:19 photography
1:35:21 grainy black and white
1:35:24 in
1:35:26 the East
1:35:30 Village
1:35:32 V Edge in the
1:35:36 9s and then I'm going to go
1:35:43 portrait and I'm going to go weirdness
1:35:46 to 900 and variety to 20 and stylization
1:35:50 to
1:35:51 500 yeah that's good
1:35:54 in the
1:35:59 90s and then
1:36:02 character weight of zero D-
1:36:06 cw0 means it will use that face that
1:36:10 chubby version of my face and everything
1:36:12 else should
1:36:14 change all right we're
1:36:18 going are we going did we do
1:36:23 something
1:36:24 yep here it
1:36:26 comes we're coming
1:36:43 people I feel very uncreative watching
1:36:46 your lives just jump on in the water's
1:36:50 wow look at
1:36:53 these
1:36:55 just play play
1:36:58 play I have an advantage because of my
1:37:02 ad look at that that's
1:37:05 amazing because of my ADD
1:37:08 um I can I go right yeah oh that's so
1:37:13 cool here's fat me looking at a poster
1:37:17 of fat
1:37:23 me
1:37:28 but okay seriously so right
1:37:33 now I could like imagine this as a
1:37:40 documentary in the 1990s I was really
1:37:42 into
1:37:50 pancakes I thought I thought of myself
1:37:53 is quite the
1:38:00 artist oh let's do upscale
1:38:03 subtle how do I do this uh oh how do
1:38:06 what did I do upscale
1:38:11 subtle and then what do I do just hit
1:38:17 return oh I think I'm hang
1:38:22 on yeah I just so you click on it okay I
1:38:25 I get what's happening so you click on
1:38:27 it and it's just launching new new
1:38:29 versions of
1:38:31 it so there's the upscaled version of it
1:38:34 or it's
1:38:38 upscaling that's so
1:38:52 cool
1:38:54 [Laughter]
1:39:02 how do you do that on Discord okay
1:39:04 because I can do it on Discord now I can
1:39:06 show you how to do that on Discord okay
1:39:08 so here's what you
1:39:10 do
1:39:13 um so right now I'm in Discord I'm in
1:39:15 the AI Salon Discord but you can also do
1:39:18 this on on the mid Journey Discord and
1:39:20 go into the newbies
1:39:22 section all right so here
1:39:26 here's um Discord so I'm in AI Salon I'm
1:39:30 in the mid Journey channel so this is
1:39:31 where you do your thing so the way you
1:39:33 make images is you go slash imagine and
1:39:36 then you type in a prompt the character
1:39:38 reference there there's character
1:39:40 reference and style reference so if I
1:39:42 what I'm going to do here is I'm going
1:39:43 to upload a picture that I want to use
1:39:45 as a character reference so I'm going to
1:39:48 go grab one of my Kyle Shannon
1:39:52 dreams um crazy
1:40:06 portraits come
1:40:08 on come on Ma what are you
1:40:22 doing so that was was the dude I
1:40:30 had that guy's really good okay so we
1:40:33 we'll use this monk this futur looking
1:40:37 dystopian monk so all I did was I hit
1:40:39 the plus button here and I'm uploading
1:40:41 the Monk and so now it's in
1:40:43 there so now that it's in there I can
1:40:46 rightclick this and get the the URL the
1:40:49 link and that we're going to need that
1:40:51 but here so here's what you do you go
1:40:53 slash
1:40:55 imagine and then you can say um let's
1:40:59 say
1:41:01 ilford
1:41:03 um
1:41:04 [Music]
1:41:06 film uh Street
1:41:12 photograph
1:41:15 of man looking in Record Shop
1:41:21 window in the east
1:41:25 Village and then I'm going to go dash
1:41:30 dash
1:41:31 [Music]
1:41:33 AR I'm going to go three colon
1:41:39 4 4X five let me go 4 by
1:41:43 five four colon 5 so it's like an 8
1:41:48 by1 and then oh wait I got to I can't
1:41:51 have a space between the dash dash is in
1:41:54 the AR oh I didn't okay so D- ar45 and
1:41:58 then I'm going to go
1:42:01 space dash dash
1:42:05 CF CF space and then I'm going to copy
1:42:09 this
1:42:11 link and I'm going to paste it in there
1:42:15 boom so that big giant link so basically
1:42:17 what this is saying is use this image as
1:42:20 a character reference for this
1:42:22 prompt and then I'm also going to
1:42:26 put Dash Das CW which is character
1:42:30 weight and then I'm going to put a zero
1:42:33 and what a what a character weight of
1:42:35 zero will do is it will only use his
1:42:38 face but no nothing else if you do
1:42:42 character weight of a 100 or a thousand
1:42:44 whatever's the the highest of that range
1:42:46 it'll change everything or it'll it'll
1:42:48 keep everything it'll keep like his
1:42:50 outfit and everything but anyway that's
1:42:52 it and so
1:42:54 see if I did anything
1:42:57 syntax weird here I think it's good it's
1:43:02 going and what's cool about this
1:43:05 is whether I make things in the Discord
1:43:08 or whether I make things on the website
1:43:10 because the website is validating my
1:43:12 account via Discord it's it's all the
1:43:14 same database so the images that I'm
1:43:17 going to make right now are going to
1:43:18 show up over
1:43:22 there
1:43:36 can you speak to the differences in
1:43:38 methodology between stable and Dolly to
1:43:41 explain the quality
1:43:43 difference no I can't it's just in I
1:43:46 guess it's in their fine TR they're
1:43:47 fine-tuning I don't
1:43:49 know look at these images these are
1:43:52 [ __ ] crazy
1:43:54 that is so wild these are so
1:43:58 cool so I'm going to go upscale one and
1:44:02 upscale
1:44:16 three upscale
1:44:19 subtle that is
1:44:22 crazy
1:44:50 upscaling absolutely realistic this is
1:44:52 fantastic isn't this
1:44:54 amazing I'm Blown Away by what you can
1:44:56 get out of stable after predominantly
1:44:59 using Dolly yeah so here's the thing
1:45:02 about stable
1:45:03 diffusion stable diffusion because they
1:45:06 open sourced it the developer Community
1:45:08 around stable diffusion is
1:45:12 insane so so there's here's the here's
1:45:14 the way to think about
1:45:16 it the advantage of Del in my opinion
1:45:20 the big advantage of Del is its
1:45:22 competent image
1:45:24 generation decent at
1:45:27 spelling but you're doing it in the
1:45:29 context of a conversation of a chat
1:45:32 that's a really big
1:45:34 deal um stable diffusion has an entire
1:45:39 developer Community innovating around
1:45:42 everything that anyone puts out you know
1:45:45 State stability AI puts out and then
1:45:48 anyone develops plugins and all that
1:45:49 sort of [ __ ] there's a whole developer
1:45:51 community so the quality you can get
1:45:54 with stable diffusion is incredibly high
1:45:56 if you're willing to geek
1:45:58 out so stable diffusion I see it as
1:46:01 that's where the tinkerers go mid
1:46:04 journey is where the artists go cuz
1:46:06 artists will put up with technical
1:46:09 [ __ ] right like like a photographer
1:46:12 will deal with the complexities of a
1:46:14 digital camera if they want to get good
1:46:16 images similarly they'll do that with
1:46:19 mid Journey because the quality of the
1:46:21 images is just best so they're all
1:46:23 slightly different and and um Adobe
1:46:25 Firefly and the generative fill uh you
1:46:28 know generative expand within within
1:46:31 Photoshop the reason to use those is if
1:46:33 you're in a corporate environment they
1:46:35 haven't been trained on copywritten
1:46:36 images right so those are safer from a
1:46:38 corporate perspective so I see
1:46:42 Dolly
1:46:44 ideogram um stable diffusion mid journey
1:46:47 and Adobe all as Tools in a pallet of
1:46:53 where you might use different ones for
1:46:54 different
1:46:56 things does that make
1:46:58 sense let's go look at I I can't believe
1:47:01 these images let me open this in the
1:47:09 browser I
1:47:11 mean that's that's [ __ ] amazing
1:47:14 that's like the
1:47:17 weird perverted dude I uploaded right
1:47:21 the Kyle Shannon dreams weirdo
1:47:26 if you were
1:47:27 in the village in the90s look at that
1:47:31 that's [ __ ]
1:47:34 insane straight
1:47:37 on back three
1:47:42 quarters look at even the like the the
1:47:45 [ __ ] film
1:47:48 imperfections in this street
1:47:50 photography you know it it's it's
1:47:53 it's like you know someone someone um
1:47:57 did this in a uh in a dirty dark room
1:48:02 with with shitty old paper they found in
1:48:04 a garbage can behind a camera store
1:48:07 right I me that's totally what it
1:48:09 [ __ ] looks
1:48:10 like [ __ ]
1:48:18 [Applause]
1:48:20 crazy my head hurts
1:48:26 where did you take that
1:48:30 exactly I there's literally not enough
1:48:33 hours in the
1:48:35 day like again I've said you know why do
1:48:38 I show up here every night one of the
1:48:40 reasons I show up here every
1:48:43 night is this totally selfish reason
1:48:47 of I wouldn't explore [ __ ] like
1:48:52 this if I wasn't doing
1:48:56 this like I'm in the middle of writing a
1:48:59 Broadway musical right now because of
1:49:02 this and is that going to serve me in my
1:49:07 company I don't know it might very well
1:49:11 might I've got a video
1:49:17 company but I'm now thinking about these
1:49:20 tools in a completely different way like
1:49:22 I'm thinking about these tools in this
1:49:23 weird sort of multimodal authorship
1:49:28 way that I wasn't thinking about a week
1:49:31 ago and so why why keep coming back to
1:49:35 this why join the AI Salon if you
1:49:37 haven't joined the AI Salon you
1:49:39 absolutely should go to that
1:49:42 URL click on the first link that says AI
1:49:45 Salon Community read about the community
1:49:47 and our
1:49:48 values if that sounds amazing to you
1:49:51 join if it sounds shitty to you
1:49:54 don't cuz you won't like
1:49:56 it doesn't cost
1:49:59 anything this is like
1:50:02 1,400 really amazing people that are on
1:50:06 this AI
1:50:07 adventure and they're all trying to
1:50:09 figure it out all of us are trying to
1:50:12 figure it out like I don't have this
1:50:14 [ __ ] figured out at
1:50:16 all at
1:50:20 all no one does no one can
1:50:23 you can't keep up with it if you just
1:50:26 like someone just asked me wait why is
1:50:29 stable diffusion better than do and I
1:50:32 rattled off here's five different image
1:50:34 generation tools and how they're
1:50:35 different and where you would use
1:50:38 them how do I even know that just from
1:50:41 just [ __ ] around with it but is that
1:50:43 enough to know that no cuz there's
1:50:45 probably [ __ ] 20 of
1:50:50 them and then there's the video ones and
1:50:52 then there's the audio ones and then
1:50:53 there's the the the [ __ ] animation
1:50:56 ones and then there's 3 3D ones and then
1:50:57 there's the word ones and then there's
1:50:59 the programming
1:51:00 ones and you're like oh my God this
1:51:03 seems so
1:51:07 exhausting I told my bus that the that
1:51:10 the AI learning lab and AI Salon is is
1:51:12 my AA for
1:51:16 AI hi my name's Chris I've been using
1:51:21 AI for 11 months now hi
1:51:28 Chris the AI Salon in this channel
1:51:31 totally are AI support groups they are
1:51:34 pull up a folding chair you know you can
1:51:37 smoke a cigarette on the break and drink
1:51:39 some black coffee cuz cuz Jane didn't go
1:51:43 get the non-dairy creamer again this
1:51:45 week so everyone's drinking it black
1:51:47 thanks
1:51:48 [Music]
1:51:52 Jane
1:51:54 it's funny um Gabby had a they they did
1:51:57 a photograph of Colorado artist women at
1:52:01 the at the uh Art Museum and I ran into
1:52:06 Jane from the AI Salon that's why her
1:52:08 name was in my head um at a coffee shop
1:52:11 and and I was working on the the uh the
1:52:14 Broadway musical and and so it was it
1:52:16 was really cool seeing her that's why
1:52:18 her name was in my
1:52:19 head
1:52:22 ah I've only used pi and free chat GPT
1:52:25 and co-pilot that's okay recycle reuse
1:52:28 here's the
1:52:34 deal I feel like this this is like no
1:52:39 [ __ ] if you just used piie free chat
1:52:43 GPT and
1:52:44 co-pilot and use as much of co-pilot as
1:52:47 you can like like learn how to make
1:52:49 Dolly images in it and you know put pie
1:52:52 into chat conversation mode and use chat
1:52:54 GPT 3.5 and learn all about it like
1:52:57 learn learn what what a a custom
1:53:00 instruction is in chat GPT
1:53:02 3.5 with those three
1:53:07 tools I personally feel for myself if if
1:53:12 I only used those three tools for the
1:53:15 next five years if they didn't improve
1:53:17 over the next 5
1:53:19 years I could still not figure out all
1:53:22 of what they make possible these tools
1:53:25 because these tools are general
1:53:28 purpose large language models because
1:53:31 they're general purpose
1:53:33 models what they make possible is
1:53:36 insanely powerful so don't apologize for
1:53:40 just using a handful of
1:53:41 tools just stay curious about it keep
1:53:44 pushing the boundaries of it keep well
1:53:47 Kyle was doing that play thing could I
1:53:49 do some sort of creative writing thing
1:53:51 try it you know um uh someone else said
1:53:54 I could do programming yeah try to do
1:53:56 programming try to do images try to
1:53:58 bring them all
1:54:00 together you know go watch YouTube
1:54:03 videos on just those tools and then
1:54:05 start to solve problems with them you
1:54:08 know hey Mary you know I know you're
1:54:10 starting your business how are you doing
1:54:11 on marketing oh my God I'm so
1:54:13 overwhelmed I can't do any marketing hey
1:54:15 could I help you out there I'm learning
1:54:17 to use AI maybe I could use AI to do a
1:54:19 marketing plan for you I don't care you
1:54:20 can do whatever you want great and then
1:54:23 go off and solve something for
1:54:24 Mary There's Something About
1:54:29 Mary you can make money
1:54:32 with and in doing that you'll learn and
1:54:34 then the other thing that I
1:54:36 strongly um recommend which I think
1:54:39 you've been in here a couple of times
1:54:40 before so you probably heard it but as
1:54:42 you're learning this stuff talk about it
1:54:46 put it on LinkedIn hey I'm working in pi
1:54:49 and and co-pilot and when I tried to do
1:54:51 two things between them they gave
1:54:53 completely different answers that's odd
1:54:55 just put that out
1:54:57 there someone else will go oh I I tried
1:55:00 to do that too and and it didn't work
1:55:02 for me either and now you have a
1:55:04 connection and now a bunch of other
1:55:06 people are going to look at you and go
1:55:08 oh they know what they know what's going
1:55:10 on look at them
1:55:14 experimenting make a huge difference
1:55:17 join groups like
1:55:20 this and ask for help and offer help
1:55:22 help if you see someone that comes in
1:55:24 and introduces themselves and says hi
1:55:27 I'm new to this AI stuff I'm a little
1:55:29 scaredy cat and I don't know
1:55:32 nothing you know more than they do grab
1:55:36 them by the hand pull them into the
1:55:37 community here let me show you how I do
1:55:39 what I do I know three tools and I know
1:55:42 two of them
1:55:44 okay and I know one of them sort of
1:55:49 good that's more than 80% of the people
1:55:52 on the planet right
1:55:54 now your little bit of knowledge is this
1:55:57 much bigger than most of the
1:56:00 planets so don't apologize for for
1:56:03 having this kind of
1:56:05 lens or that kind of expertise it's
1:56:12 [Music]
1:56:16 okay do you tie your AI to a
1:56:21 database um
1:56:26 um not currently I've got some
1:56:28 automations that are dumping things to a
1:56:30 CSV file into a slack Channel which is
1:56:33 technically to a database but no not
1:56:35 really I'm not doing any any deep
1:56:38 database kind of stuff I'm doing
1:56:40 some I've created some gpts with with
1:56:43 data in them but it's not it's not a
1:56:45 database I'm not doing anything super
1:56:48 super
1:56:49 crazy
1:56:51 new
1:56:53 my feed delayed what were the three you
1:56:55 suggested custom
1:56:57 GPT wait chat G custom chat
1:57:01 GPT
1:57:05 Dolly oh
1:57:08 um custom instructions in chat GPT so if
1:57:12 you go to your your name your profile
1:57:16 name in chat GPT even in the free one
1:57:19 you'll see this thing that says custom
1:57:21 instructions and you can give it a
1:57:24 personality and you can give it how it
1:57:25 should respond so you can say to your
1:57:29 chat GPT I want you to act like an
1:57:31 academic and only use big impressive
1:57:35 words and then how I want you to respond
1:57:38 is you know always include an obscure
1:57:41 literary reference in your answers and
1:57:43 your chat GPT will turn into a pompous
1:57:45 ass or you can say you're impatient and
1:57:50 can't stand overly um flowery answers
1:57:55 and then in how how I want you to answer
1:57:57 only answer in three bullet point
1:57:58 answers 7 to 10 words each nothing else
1:58:02 and chat GPT will completely transform
1:58:04 for you so that was one use Dolly within
1:58:08 um within uh
1:58:12 co-pilot and then with pi just you know
1:58:14 get really good at at conversational AI
1:58:18 cuz conversational AI with pi is a
1:58:21 completely different different let's
1:58:23 call it art form than typing into a
1:58:26 large language model and Pi is really
1:58:29 shitty when you type into it because
1:58:31 it's too conversational it asks a lot of
1:58:33 questions it's really annoying but to
1:58:35 talk to it it's really interesting and
1:58:37 it's connected to the internet and you
1:58:40 should use it while you can because
1:58:41 inflection just got gutted and we don't
1:58:43 know the future of Pi I think I think
1:58:45 the future of Pi might be a little
1:58:48 ugly so what do you know about Microsoft
1:58:52 what was
1:58:57 that no apologies I know I'm trying and
1:59:00 I I apologize all the time Microsoft's
1:59:04 Auto Dev I don't know anything about it
1:59:05 right now I'll look it up
1:59:08 though I kind of know one tool perfect
1:59:11 your kind of knowing one tool makes you
1:59:15 a mega expert compared to someone who's
1:59:18 never used chat
1:59:19 GPT
1:59:21 seriously seriously
1:59:24 it's amazing like the and it's not going
1:59:27 to be like this forever recognize that
1:59:29 we're in a very rarified time in
1:59:33 history where way more people don't know
1:59:36 what this [ __ ] is than do know what this
1:59:38 [ __ ]
1:59:39 is and so if you know this much of one
1:59:43 tool you know way more than most people
1:59:46 as [ __ ] up and weird as that sounds
1:59:48 it's
1:59:49 true it's
1:59:51 wild no apologies I keep coming back to
1:59:55 learn from you all great recycle reuse
1:59:57 with a name like that you should keep
1:59:58 coming back right keep keep
2:00:01 recycling um I just know how to make
2:00:03 cryptocurrency that's all nothing
2:00:05 special salon of meme coins Etc well
2:00:08 I'll tell you what uh best dealios is
2:00:11 jump into free chat GPT or Coop pilot.
2:00:15 microsoft.com or claw. any one of those
2:00:19 or gemini.com
2:00:22 um and
2:00:24 have have any one of those read and
2:00:28 analyze your smart contracts and and
2:00:30 tell it to look for vulnerabilities in
2:00:32 your smart contracts have it write you a
2:00:34 new smart
2:00:36 contract and just see how it does and
2:00:39 and maybe compare the tools so even if
2:00:41 you just know a really specialized piece
2:00:44 of the tech world use these large
2:00:47 language models to understand them
2:00:49 deeper it it'll blow your [ __ ] mind
2:00:51 I'm telling you you're going to be cuz
2:00:53 it'll find bugs in your smart contracts
2:00:55 you you're like holy [ __ ] I didn't know
2:00:57 that was a vulnerability I'm I'm telling
2:00:59 you weird you'll dig it and then you'll
2:01:03 be hooked you'll have a so here's my
2:01:05 hope my hope is that you use these large
2:01:07 language models long enough that you
2:01:09 have your first Kevin McAllister moment
2:01:12 which remember home
2:01:16 alone and you will and once you have
2:01:19 them you can't unlearn what these things
2:01:22 do and then you just keep having Kevin
2:01:25 mallister moment after Kevin McAllister
2:01:27 moment after Kevin mallister moment and
2:01:30 just the world opens up it's it's it's
2:01:32 really quite
2:01:33 remarkable all this time I've been using
2:01:35 it and didn't know about custom
2:01:37 instructions almost no one knows about
2:01:39 custom instructions Tams almost no one
2:01:43 and it's an incredibly powerful
2:01:45 thing and it's available for the free
2:01:48 version of chat GPT
2:01:51 too there you that's why we come here
2:01:54 just be in the conversation and like
2:01:56 through osmosis or just you'll be paying
2:01:58 attention at at one point where when you
2:02:00 weren't some other time you'll go oh
2:02:02 that's
2:02:03 new or just you'll just hear it in a
2:02:05 different way because now you've been
2:02:07 using it for a while all right listen I
2:02:10 got to get out of here people I hope you
2:02:12 enjoyed tonight um if replicant still in
2:02:15 here thank you very much for that um
2:02:17 access to Mid Journey that that helps a
2:02:19 lot I'm going to dig into that more and
2:02:21 I'll demo that
2:02:22 I'll demo the new MID Journey more as I
2:02:25 as I get my head around it that's really
2:02:27 great what about you.com um I've again I
2:02:31 haven't played with it enough to to have
2:02:33 an opinion on it right now so I'll I'll
2:02:35 check it out I said that about
2:02:37 perplexity for a while I finally used
2:02:38 perplexity enough to know what it is I
2:02:40 just haven't done it with
2:02:42 u.com all right Aloha Mahal for another
2:02:46 good one thank you very much against the
2:02:47 norm I appreciate that cuno good to see
2:02:50 you um please follow my channel
