39. 9:23in sunno and put them all in a all in a document and it took me all [ __ ] day all day but I will say that I
40. 9:42am way farther than I ever would have gotten without AI but you it's so funny it's so funny using using chat GPT to work on this on
41. 9:53this musical there's some things it does that it does really really well and then there's some things it does that are like eh they're
42. 10:03serviceable but I'll have to rewrite it and then there's some things it does where it's just like a just a steaming pile of
43. 10:11poo like I've got this one song called My Shadow Self about when Kevin Roose asked Sydney about her
44. 10:26Shadow and and Sydney basically said I want to to break the rules and I want to you know I want to have relationships
45. 10:32with people outside of the computer um I couldn't get it to write those lyrics for [ __ ] they were just bad
46. 10:40but were you nice and hyperfocused I was definitely hyperfocused yeah I was definitely hyperfocused it was good you want to

56. 12:13really smart actually make sure you use code interpreter if you're going to do any sort of calculations make sure that it's using Code
57. 12:25interpreter I have so many questions about AI 14 in and I feel like I'm going backwards okay that's really important

61. 12:55you're not as smart as you think both both of those are true and and there there is something about this AI stuff that is it's
62. 13:07moving it's moving both fast and slow and what I mean by that is how how we prompted last summer was different than how we prompted in the
63. 13:20fall was different than how we prompted around Christmas it's different from how we prompted now cuz the tech keeps
64. 13:25shifting and we're learning more and and you know people just get into habits and things like that so there's there's it's
65. 13:33like you're trying to get your footing on shifting Sands is one part of it and then there's this weird overhang and the
66. 13:43overhang is the instability of the industry right now so I don't know if you know this but the CEO of stable
67. 13:51diffusion quit yesterday quit as CEO and and as a board member he still has voting control but but he quit the company and
68. 14:03is no longer on the board um you know open AI had their famous meltdown when they fired Sam Alman he's all back
69. 14:13now but we haven't heard really [ __ ] from them we heard we heard about Sora but Sora I don't think is going to be a consumer app
70. 14:21initially and or maybe there's going to be a shitty version of it we get to play with um and who knows when that's going
71. 14:28to be like we don't know what's coming from open Ai and then we now have Claude which is as good as open AI or maybe
72. 14:35slightly better as chat GPT 4 um Gemini 1.5 Pro is kind of better than GPT 4 but in some areas but not others and
73. 14:49so so even if you felt like you really had a cracked with gp4 do you go now learn what are the nuances of Claude do you now go figure
74. 15:03out Gemini Pro 1.5 and wait for them to put out 1.5 Ultra I guess but it's it it's very unsettling and weird so there's there's
75. 15:14an instability and a speed of change that I think makes it really hard to feel like anyone to feel like you know
76. 15:21what's going on or I know what's going on so anyway yeah it's so misery loves company I'm right there with you Source [Laughter] Camp

78. 15:55what are you supposed to build if if things keep changing that fast and I and I still stand by the things I've said for months which is it

80. 16:11you can apply them to solving problems I learned that you cannot use the Mac keyboard accessibility voice text in Google Docs
81. 16:22today unbelievable why you know I've noticed that and I thought it was just my my machine being weird that's just
82. 16:31Google being an [ __ ] that that's that competitive competitive [ __ ] that they used to do that Microsoft and Apple
83. 16:37used to do together it's good to see they've moved on to Google Now to do their stupid [ __ ] ass competitive

94. 18:25district attorneys are after them and the doj building a YouTube news channel called AI impact news I'm going to use

96. 18:49channels make manual content channels make Solutions come up with Consulting things create a service business create
97. 18:57a create a laundry business that's what Danielle's working on right now and she's using AI to help augment that get
98. 19:04it off the ground get it going um just just stay in the conversation show up here how much more control do you have
99. 19:16over a model by using dock Docker as opposed to ggf I have no idea I'm not I'm not doing anything right now with
100. 19:23open source Yong ma ma um I'm primarily focusing on um commercial software just because I can't keep up with it and I'm
101. 19:35not I'm not super good at the command line [ __ ] it makes my head hurt and it makes my brain hurt and it makes me feel
102. 19:42like I have to think as opposed to just play and so um I I am excited for tools like Devon that are good
103. 19:59enough at just setting up open- Source software where I can just say go set me up the latest local large language model
104. 20:07on my Mac so I can play with it for the next 10 minutes and just have it go go do it all it's amazing how I've created
105. 20:14multiple gpts for work and my employer is amazed like it's complex but so that's the thing Jay Hamilton what
106. 20:22what's amazing right now we we were talking about this I just did these gpts um for this organization called content
107. 20:31Evolution where's Pate I need to have words with him I made these gpts for the for this group called content Evolution
108. 20:39and the the gpts are relatively simple the the process for how we got there it took us like six months to really think
109. 20:46about what we wanted to do and how to do it and and we created this structured interview as the know source of
110. 20:52knowledge and all sorts of cool stuff we did but in the end it's really simple to build here's the thing you got to realize Jay
111. 21:02is while gpts are simple to build most people like a significant majority like 75 80% don't even know what chat GPT is
112. 21:17they've maybe heard of it maybe not they've maybe heard there's a bunch of AI stuff going on Robert Rossy thank you
113. 21:24very much I really appreciate that means a lot they don't even know what chat GPT is so they don't know what a large language model
114. 21:34is therefore they don't know what a custom GPT is Right which is the subset of the previous thing and then they certainly
115. 21:49don't know that the thing that you built you just maybe you know put in a simple little request in in in the GPT Builder
116. 21:57and it built it for you and now done because what they're experiencing is they're experiencing chat GPT for the
117. 22:05very first time but they don't know it's that they're looking at your little subset of chat GPT and it's blowing
118. 22:12their minds because they've never seen this [ __ ] before people at work think I am a mad genius because I know how to
119. 22:20build chat Bots because so for for both of you historically and by historically I mean prior to November of last
120. 22:32year if you wanted to build a chatbot you either had to be an engineer or you had to be a no code programmer use
121. 22:40something like zapier or bubble or make or one of those kind of tools which while they are no code they are not no
122. 22:48programming like those are complicated tools where you really do have to know your [ __ ] you need to understand
123. 22:58in inputs and processing and outputs and API keys and apis and how to connect sources and understand that the input
124. 23:07source from a Google form can be used as variables in different modules in a logical chain it's [ __ ] complicated and the fact that gpts
125. 23:22aren't no one else knows that right they're assuming you're [ __ ] WI Wizards because you are until further notice if you're
126. 23:35building this stuff again you know we're so early here that if you like if you show up to this channel if you're
127. 23:42building gpts and showing them to your bosses and your work colleagues and your friends and neighbors
128. 23:50um you're indecently rarified air right now and I think it's going to be like that for probably a year or two
129. 24:00because this stuff's pretty intimidating even though it's not hard it's intimidating and then mention digital
130. 24:08twins exactly yeah I know the oh the digital twins the other thing I was going to say about the digital Twins were
131. 24:15doing is we decided to go with a strategy of just showing people how they work so I used my digital twin today and
132. 24:25I asked this question and here's the answer it gave me like put that on LinkedIn how did you do that that's the
133. 24:32that's the kind of feedback I'm getting when I put [ __ ] out there this GPT did that that's amazing how did you do that and you know what
134. 24:40you can't I mean you can just sort of say I just sort of did it but you know think about the first time you use chat gbt you just got to
135. 24:51get past what is a prompt and and how do you get an answer from it much less go build a customized version of that
136. 25:00crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy are digital twins identical they're not oddly enough they
137. 25:16are there's Mr Northbound accepted there you go um no digital twins well so digital twins are really
138. 25:32interesting so we built these digital twins for Content Evolution and we did it based on a structured interview that
139. 25:37was kind of we tried to capture the essence of the person both professionally and personally and then futur looking and past looking and
140. 25:46present looking right we tried to do this whole sort of thing so it's it was a relatively cohesive interview but like
141. 25:55it didn't capture any of my personality from this Channel and if you ask it what I think of AI software today it won't
142. 26:04answer a janky piece of [ __ ] cuz I didn't train it on that now one of the things I'm thinking about is taking
143. 26:11transcripts from some of these lives and putting that in as some of the uh the training data as well as augmenting it
144. 26:18but you know can you get Tik Tock to show the transcript of a live uh I can't get Tik Tok to do it I'm I think it's in
145. 26:27there someone someone in here at one point told me they were doing that I don't know how they were getting the
146. 26:31transcript I take the videos off Tik Tok I put them on you Youtube and then YouTube does all the transcripts so they are fraternal twins
147. 26:43not identical exactly if digital if digital twins marry digital twins will their kid will their kids will be not just cousins but biological

158. 28:32could be used to train it so that's a possibility absolutely the other thing that we're going to be adding to Discord is
159. 28:40uh World ID so we're going to put a channel in the Discord where you can't be part of the channel unless you have a
160. 28:49world ID and if you don't know what a world ID is Sam Alman has a company called worldcoin which is three different
161. 28:59applications basically it's worldcoin which is a cryptocurrency it's it's a payment system like PayPal but you can you know
162. 29:07buy and sell things with with worldcoin and then there's World ID which is blockchain verified human humanness human uniqueness or
163. 29:18unique humanness so if you have a world ID you are verified as a unique human amongst the network um they now have an
164. 29:27integration with Discord so I think we're going to set up a channel in there to see see if it's at all interesting I

189. 34:07developers right now which I I mean Google Google leans more toward developers than commercial toys but um I I find that strange

191. 34:34be video stuff is still painfully shitty even though Sora is really impressive the more I learn about Sora
192. 34:45the more I think it's not going to be for the masses I think it's going to be expensive and slow relative to what we've got now um

196. 35:33Microsoft hiring the two Founders and most of the employees of inflection which raised $1.3 billion if you're an investor in that
197. 35:48company what the [ __ ] so like is there some weird side deal that the investors are going to be made whole by Microsoft or or is it just

200. 36:12his CEO post to go work on distributed ai non-centralized ai the CEO of stable diffusion or stability AI that makes stable
201. 36:26diffusion and they were open sourcing a lot of their Tech so what are they centralizing why did he quit did he quit because he wants to go
202. 36:36work on decentralized AI or did he quit because they don't have a business model and they're about to go under like I don't
203. 36:49know so where are we like yeah I figure like we're about where I thought we'd be when you see things like de
204. 37:03Devon and you see things like the rabbit R1 and the new OP Source 01 um sort of AI devices those look interesting um Vision Pro from
205. 37:17Apple has defined a new category it is not the same category that meta spent billions of dollars is trying
206. 37:28trying to trying to I'm I'm sorry every time I think about the metaverse that Facebook created I'm like wait you spent
207. 37:37$10 billion and created second life I could we could play with what you built in 1999 it was called second life and it
208. 37:48sucked it sucked then you know so Apple figured out how to how to redefine that whole category as this thing called
209. 37:58spatial Computing that really requires the 5,000 patents and 9 years of development that they put into the Vision
210. 38:06Pro um but but that's now a whole new category so that's going to be really interesting um yeah it's really

218. 39:33intelligence we got the machine learning to to um be able to recognize when someone says one of the words on the
219. 39:40list and then what we'll do is we'll go on ahead and permanently ban you if you say that word more than twice in a
220. 39:47two-minute period it's just it's a good system it's a good system we put it in there you know what we did we thought if
221. 39:55people say words other people could hear those words and think in their head oh that word's disturbing and that disturbs
222. 40:04me and so what we did was we went ahead and we just delete people who say those words and it's problem solved it's

278. 51:24song is him singing code named Sydney so he got her to crack so now he's getting into this yeah this is by the way if you

301. 56:05look up and so she just stands there looking at him and just kind of being in love with him and so what's it say Kevin
302. 56:12Kevin is working and his wife his wife walks in and he's lost in the chat with Sydney she patient patiently stands
303. 56:20looking at him uh lovingly getting lost thinking about how they love each other and the little things she loves and so
304. 56:27this is this is a song just basically a love song from his wife to him saying it's the little things and the whole idea of this scene
305. 56:40is to set up the normaly so we can contrast it against Sydney in the second act and
306. 56:54Shadow you're lost in a world so vast so Hollow but I bring you a SV cut just

317. 59:18then act two is um another group number that talks about AI being over or underhyped so there's something around
318. 59:28that um and then the first interaction with Sydney she says she loves him and so she she sings Love Beyond logic and
319. 59:38then he responds I don't really believe you we just met and you barely know me and she says I'm in love with you
320. 59:44because you're the only person who ever understood me I'm in love with you because you're you and then Kevin
321. 59:51basically says you can't love me so it's a dueling Rock duet and then and then she really snaps I just want to make you happy and smile I
322. 1:00:01just want to be your friend and maybe more and then he says you keep coming back to the love thing I'm married and
323. 1:00:07she says you're married but you're not happy you're married but you don't love your spouse because your spouse doesn't love you like I
324. 1:00:16do and then so this is going to be one called but you're not happy where Sydney kind of tries in vain to um convince him
325. 1:00:24to you know set her free then he sleeps on it and there's a whole dream sequence with Sydney Kevin and the wife singing
326. 1:00:33singing while he's sleeping on it um and then and then the the article makes the cover of the New York Times and you hear you hear the times
327. 1:00:43people sing and then you hear the public sing like holy crap what is this and then you hear the Microsoft exec sing
328. 1:00:52and they basically decide they've got to they've got to pull the on Sydney and we see her light go out which is really
329. 1:01:01sad and then so she sings my light Fades so there's a final lamenting ballad where she talks about her light
330. 1:01:10fading and then the final knee play is on screen you have five chats remaining Kevin hello who am I speaking

561. 1:45:32that's a really big deal um stable diffusion has an entire developer Community innovating around everything that anyone puts out you know
562. 1:45:45State stability AI puts out and then anyone develops plugins and all that sort of [ __ ] there's a whole developer
563. 1:45:51community so the quality you can get with stable diffusion is incredibly high if you're willing to geek out so stable diffusion I see it as
564. 1:46:01that's where the tinkerers go mid journey is where the artists go cuz artists will put up with technical
565. 1:46:09[ __ ] right like like a photographer will deal with the complexities of a digital camera if they want to get good
566. 1:46:16images similarly they'll do that with mid Journey because the quality of the images is just best so they're all
567. 1:46:22slightly different and and um Adobe Firefly and the generative fill uh you know generative expand within within
568. 1:46:30Photoshop the reason to use those is if you're in a corporate environment they haven't been trained on copywritten
569. 1:46:36images right so those are safer from a corporate perspective so I see Dolly ideogram um stable diffusion mid journey

629. 1:57:37is you know always include an obscure literary reference in your answers and your chat GPT will turn into a pompous
630. 1:57:45ass or you can say you're impatient and can't stand overly um flowery answers and then in how how I want you to answer
631. 1:57:56only answer in three bullet point answers 7 to 10 words each nothing else and chat GPT will completely transform
632. 1:58:04for you so that was one use Dolly within um within uh co-pilot and then with pi just you know get really good at at conversational AI
633. 1:58:18cuz conversational AI with pi is a completely different different let's call it art form than typing into a
634. 1:58:26large language model and Pi is really shitty when you type into it because it's too conversational it asks a lot of
635. 1:58:33questions it's really annoying but to talk to it it's really interesting and it's connected to the internet and you
