13. 3:01salon and I mean weirdo in the kindest sense of the word the only sense of the word I'm not weird I'm irregular um she just posted a uh a
14. 3:17report that talks about the rise of the weirdos that that attacking AI creatively is going to be one of the power centers in
15. 3:322024 well I could have [ __ ] told you that they should have interviewed me for that report I got a whole bucket of weirdos over
16. 3:43here oh man have we got Irregulars for you and it's so cool it's such a cool Community um I want to start
17. 3:58out um if you're new here welcome my name is Kyle Shannon this dayi learning lab we hang out here every night last
18. 4:05night I had to cut things a little short there was a little slight family drama um my wife was sick my kids are sick and
19. 4:13my wife got like just really like fatigued and like couldn't talk right we're like holy [ __ ] and uh so we gave
20. 4:21her a home covid test and by jingus she tested positive and so we went to the emergency room and confirmed that and
21. 4:30she's on Pax lvid now and she's been vaccinated but not boosted but she's she's feeling better today so it seems
22. 4:38like yesterday was the worst of it um so it is possible I I had it I don't know but on Tuesday when we had the salon I had a
23. 4:51headache all day I don't get headaches all day I'll I I usually get like a dehydration headache in the morning and
24. 4:56it's gone by noon and I started getting a headache at like 10:00 in the morning and then by the time we had the salon at
25. 5:025:00 it was just [ __ ] blasting and so for most of the salon I was like crosseyed in pain and uh and then like the last 15
26. 5:12minutes of the salon it just kind of dissipated and went away which was weird um but um but it's so it's Poss because
27. 5:19it was a weird headache it's possible that that was my symptom uh but it's also possible that I didn't get it and I might so I'll keep you
28. 5:28posted if if I end up uh you know not being able to do these for a day or two you know it's right around Christmas it'll give us a
29. 5:37break but but I am I am committed one of the things that I think could be fun is to do a we'll do like a either a
30. 5:47Christmas Eve or a Christmas day like we'll plan an escape from the relatives so so I'll just do I'll just
31. 5:56do like an hour and you can just be like hey I gotta I got to talk to my uh my high school friend Sally just run into
32. 6:04the back room and we can do a little something oh God that's pretty funny so anyway so so that's what happened last
33. 6:14night that's why I got cut short so little bit of drama we're we're we're an immune compromised house so so CO's no
34. 6:21joke but we're on it we're jump we jumped on it so anyway all right enough comedy jokes enough enough [ __ ] reality setting in
35. 6:33let's get back to being weirdos oh man got to go for a walk with my cousins yeah exactly Barbara Kyle I had a headache too but the sick part
36. 6:43kicked in three to four day days later yeah I that's that's kind of my fear is that I got a I got a ass kicking coming
37. 6:51to me but we'll see we'll see I I reached out to my doc so I'm going to I'm going to sort of preemptively have her prescribed Pax l
38. 7:00cuz that what's the what the doc said is like okay well she's got it chances are pretty good you've got it if you don't
39. 7:05if you start feeling not good just go on the paid don't take a test just assume you have it go on the PA viid and
40. 7:12doesn't hurt to take it and knock that [ __ ] out so that's what we'll do I'm also my uh my hydration of choice is uh what's it
41. 7:28called uh emergency vitamin C Kool-Aid can I just tell you this about emergency Kool-Aid emergency the the
42. 7:44vitamin C [ __ ] it's not Kool-Aid like Kool-Aid is much better but it's still sugar water what's that did you ever see the
43. 7:56the uh the two bears one cave the ber Bert crer and Tom sigura where where Bert's drinking like a 64 o
44. 8:06Kool-Aid he's he's pouring in a cup and Tom SAR goes what are you drinking and Berke goes Kool-Aid and then Tom goes
45. 8:14hey what what he goes Kool-Aid seriously goes yeah he goes what flavor Bert goes red the red flavor oh my God okay honey ginger wait
46. 8:29okay lunar stick honey ginger turmeric lemon tea okay I can I can I can either whip that I'm sure we've got some
47. 8:36version of that here all right I'll do it I'll do it we'll get that immune system fired up Kool-Aid with water it was 64 o I
48. 8:51know it was this like this is a 32 oce glass it was like bigger than this and he drinks it all day he just drinks it
49. 9:00like he's drinking water and Tom S is like do you know how much Sugar's in there he couldn't breathe he was
50. 9:06laughing so hard and then Bert suddenly realizes what an idiot he is and he starts laughing oh my God that show
51. 9:17could be such a such a snore sometimes but that was pretty [ __ ] good all right copious amounts of Elderberry all right the ginger turmeric
52. 9:28tea thing okay I can I can we've got we've got stuff here believe me we uh I've got three long uh Long Haul lime patients in the house
53. 9:41so we know about the immune system all right also garlic but that gives major heartb burden cuz I'm obviously a vampire yeah you got to be
54. 9:54careful with that lunar stick you can't just be going on the garlic with teeth with fangs like that I think the uh think the writing
55. 10:03was on the wall on that one um all right I said I had I had a couple interesting things today um I've got I've got some new AI stuff
56. 10:16some new AI what are they features some new AI a new AI vision for my company and I've built some stuff I've got like a
57. 10:27functional tool right now and it's blowing people's [ __ ] mind you know what's funny you know when you
58. 10:33build stuff and the minute well I don't know if you experien this this might be an add thing I bet this is an add
59. 10:40thing I've got this thing where I'll get really excited about something I'm like oh I got an idea I know how to solve
60. 10:48this major ass problem and then I go into my hyperfocus tunnel and I build some [ __ ] and then the minute it's built I'm
61. 10:56like well yeah that's obvious like everyone could have done that like I immediately dismiss the novelty of it
62. 11:01cuz it's built it's done like the adren the endorphins are gone the adrenaline's gone and now I got this thing I'm like
63. 11:07yeah that thing that thing I made yeah it's whatever um and I'm I'm not quite like that with this like it's still kind
64. 11:15of blowing my mind that it does what it does but it's [ __ ] melting people's faces they're looking at this thing
65. 11:23going H this this changes everything do you know what you could do with this so I'm getting those kind of reactions and
66. 11:31I've like Story vine I I generally get really positive reactions and and it's one of the it's been one of the
67. 11:36challenges of the business is we we we it took us a while to figure out the the difference between the false positives
68. 11:44and the and people willing to write a check cuz everyone got excited about it but it was only you know 20% of them
69. 11:52that would actually do business with you and and like separating those that took us a while to crack that
70. 11:57nut this this is this is people are losing their minds a little bit I haven't shown it to that many people but
71. 12:03I'll I'll show you a little bit of it um but yeah so anyway this this article um I love that image so this is from Cindy [ __ ] from

73. 12:28making my way through them there are hundreds of these reports a funny standout in this group um I thought this group would enjoy is

75. 12:53reports use language like the Misfits lead the way to the creative future lots of nods to Misfits dominating it's
76. 13:02our time the rise of the weirdos so I naturally had to make an image for the Irregulars isn't that a awesome and we've got in our in our

78. 13:32wow so long ago this I don't when was this August 31st this image was
79. 13:46created so the Irregulars someone said something or I said something about people being weird in here and it was
80. 13:55probably Amelia's wife or someone said we're not not weird we're irregular I was like [ __ ] yes so anyway so that's our t-shirts I
81. 14:07got to get this t-shirt made this this definitely needs to be a t-shirt because it's also it's also janky janky
82. 14:15weird it's just it's like his toes are janky it's not it's like there's just something off about the typography like it it it all sort of
83. 14:29like if you squint weird you're like yeah that that makes sense visually so anyway I just thought that
84. 14:38was really cool um where I just showed that so this site that I'm looking at this stuff on is the AI salon so let me tell you a little bit

86. 14:59this is a group of AI Adventures so people that are choosing to be on the AI adventure together and I started this a
87. 15:08week after chat GPT came out and wait can you make it a vector image um yeah there's there's lots of uh I I can
88. 15:19either make it a vector image or I can take it into like a 4K upscaler um there are a number of tools that vectorize it and then um there's
89. 15:28also a number of tools that do AI upscaling where they actually add details to it and it might de janky it
90. 15:36but I think I I actually think that that vectorizing that image will make it a little more janky which feels more on BR

108. 18:09business relationship with printful because there's a plugin for printful into Tik Tok but they stopped supporting them so they let they let
109. 18:18people order the shirt but they wouldn't send me that person's address so I had no way so the only people I could
110. 18:26actually fulfill their shirts was people like connected with that like physically mailed me a shirt or or or you know
111. 18:33physically mailed me their address or or like you know emailed me their address it was a [ __ ] nightmare and I had to
112. 18:39like undo this entire Byzantine [ __ ] structure and I was I was trying to deal with Tik Tock technical support was absolute
113. 18:49Insanity I'm I'm like I'm like hey I've got printful integrated into my Tik Tock shop that I got from your site and I
114. 18:59can't get the address and they're like no we're not going to give you that address because that's sensitive
115. 19:03information I'm like but they ordered something with this printful integration then they' say but we don't support
116. 19:09printful I'm like I get that but there's a thing on it was it was Insanity so so patient zero I have it that's right oh

125. 20:41was funny about Kelly is he was he had a really similar sense of humor as your yours he had a Southern accent he was
126. 20:49like you know I don't really know much about this AI stuff but it's doing cool [ __ ] for me it was it was it was really cool so anyway

143. 23:41curiosity and generosity and exploration and collaboration and inclusion and empathy um and we talk talk about what
144. 23:50that actually means to us and and um you know how we want the community who who we want in the community people that
145. 23:58resonate with these values and and support these values and and live by these values um if you resonate with
146. 24:05these values this is your people right this is the Irregulars this is weirdos this is people that are actively
147. 24:11choosing to be on this AI adventure together if those values don't resonate with you that's cool too but this is
148. 24:17probably not your people so I want the AI Salon to grow I want as many people as possible getting up to speed on this
149. 24:24that's kind of my been my mission for the past year um so check that check check out what we're about make sure you

164. 26:20secretly AI literate and don't don't want anyone else to know and then we kind of come out of the out of the
165. 26:25shadows and and we start talking about it and then I think there's there's always sort of a new round of secret cyborgs
166. 26:32coming in so that's that's pretty funny um that's that's awesome um Amelio's wife shared this live with more than 10 friends okay

171. 27:19the little bit of time like it doesn't take a lot of time to get your head around this stuff I mean to at least start to get
172. 27:27your head around to understand what's possible with it and the minute you do that you kind of latch on to oh I could
173. 27:33do X and in her case she's choosing to express herself by doing personalized cards for her friends that's so cool
174. 27:41like I feel like we're moving into this future of hyper personalization where we're all going to be able to express ourselves as
175. 27:49humans in incredibly powerful ways even if we don't have art skills or music skills or writing skills or coding
176. 27:58skills now we get to level up on all the [ __ ] we were never good at but always wanted to do that's a remarkable

178. 28:14going to go to this thing called AI tools and resources and so this is where we're going to start tonight we haven't started yet you've
179. 28:21been talking for half an hour this is exhausting do why do people watch this what is this CH who are you my name's Kyle Shannon
180. 28:36and none of that's important anymore because this community is sort of Taken on a life of its own I am just I am but
181. 28:44creating the vessel with which this community does its [ __ ] uh it's really [ __ ] awesome but yeah um so so what I've got here
182. 28:58is a a list of things you should explore in Ai and then this first one is just all the same thing this is all Chad gbt
183. 29:09it's like God that's a lot to explore Kyle um but chat GPT there there's actually kind of Two and a Half place
184. 29:19things to explore with chat GPT there's chat GPT 3.5 which is the free version of chat GPT um so if you just go to chat.
185. 29:28open.com that's that now if you pay 20 bucks a month you get access to chat gp4 it's called Uh chat GPT plus is is the
186. 29:37name of the subscription it's 20 bucks a month this is a multimodal state-of-the-art tool and and this is my
187. 29:46opinion I I wrote this document worth the investment the 20 bucks a month there there are so many things I've
188. 29:54started taking medications after watching these live these lives exist because I stopped taking my
189. 30:08medication that's [ __ ] awesome oh my God what do I think of meta Ray bands take on new meeting of multimodal vision um I I think that they
190. 30:21are I think that they're sort of version 0.1 of of what those things will be um here's what I think is most
191. 30:35interesting about the wearable [ __ ] there's the pin that just came out the $700 pin that's got a camera and a
192. 30:43microphone in it there's those those Rayband glasses from meta there's other there's other glasses that I just saw
193. 30:50today that were advertised that record everything right they record your your life um up until this year none of that stuff made sense to me
194. 31:06because you had to process everything manually like you had to take you had to like manually figure out when do I hit
195. 31:14record when do I not hit record if if it generates media then you've got to download it into your file and put it in the system and organize
196. 31:24it and it it's all just [ __ ] exhausting right but now we live in a world where these tools can instantly
197. 31:32process massive amounts of data right I can upload my screenplay I wrote 30 years ago and it reads it in an instant
198. 31:40and will write me a Hollywood log line so it can record [ __ ] all day and then I can just say oh who was I talking to at
199. 31:48lunch that was an interesting conversation Oh you talked to someone named Fred at Starbucks and he asked you
200. 31:55about something and you said this and and then he saidoh I have a business that does why right what's Fred's number
201. 32:01here's Fred's number he told it to you right so that ability to instantly process massive amounts of of information all of
202. 32:11a sudden makes data Gathering things viable now are they valuable is it a waste of time is it an invasion of
203. 32:22privacy is it like all the eth there's like 8 billion issues like where's that data going are those people mining your data of what
204. 32:32you do every day if you forget to hit stop on the record button and it records something nefarious you did are they
205. 32:40going to turn you into like I don't like the the the depth of unanswerable ethical moral copyright trademark just basic
206. 32:53human decency issues that those things unload on us are insane um I I you know it's going to be a decade till we unravel all that but
207. 33:06but I would say that they are they are interesting in that we now have technology to be able to make sense of
208. 33:12the data um so what happened to Google Glass it was eight years before its time right and it and it was also it it looked like the douchy
209. 33:25future the nice thing about rayb band The R the ray band's glasses from meta is if you didn't if you're not paying
210. 33:34too close attention they just look like glasses right the the single prism over one eye like I I went to I think I was in South by
211. 33:46Southwest and I went to some party and there was some dude there wearing Google Glass and he's like hey man how's it
212. 33:53going and I could just see his eyes like darting off to the corner looking at his stupid [ __ ] prism not not actually
213. 34:00talking to me but trying to pretend to be in the conversation it was I don't know it was weird so I think Google
214. 34:07Glass represented the douche future and mass adoption won't happen until actual human beings can use the
215. 34:15stuff without looking like a pin head um okay so if you if you haven't tried chat gbt go there right now c.

217. 34:40technical hey but you know what I did here you make money with ch can I make money with ch ch can I just go there

219. 34:57failed in high school to explain it to you as if someone who who failed at that in high school and see what it does have
220. 35:05it write you a poem about uh your pet have it write you an application um that that does a sophisticated mathematical application
221. 35:19in Python and and just watch what it does um if you've been playing around with chat chei teeth for a while and you
222. 35:27haven't pulled the trigger on chat gp4 pull the trigger on chat gp4 if you can afford it if you can't afford it [ __ ] it

224. 35:4520 bucks to spend and oh and for this for those cynics in the audience that are going oh well what kind of kickback

226. 36:01chat GPT commissions with GP Sam's jealous of me and he pays me Zar in commissions Z okay all right I've called
227. 36:13Sam I I've I've talked to his his answering machine we don't we don't have those anymore his voicemail Sam wman actually has an
228. 36:23answering machine he's got the one with a little tape in it that you flip over every three days so I know he's got little cassette tapes
229. 36:31with my messages on it in his in his it's a shoe box where he keeps all of them and I know he's got a ton of me in
230. 36:38there cuz he's he's he's obsessed with me to the point that he does not pay me commissions to sell his [ __ ] I don't I
231. 36:45don't know why whatever it's just jealousy it's I don't mind it when other people are Petty and small I like to be
232. 36:51large and magnanimous and by large I mean look at these chins I've got more than [Music] one okay so that's
233. 37:08that um the uh the last little thing here is if you're developer there's this thing called the open AI playground you
234. 37:14can go play with um other things that I think you should be looking at um the big four I got to get rid of grock out
235. 37:23of here I got to replace that with something else I think I'm going to replace that with perplexity should I do that
236. 37:32now the problem is that the formatting is all [ __ ] weird with this software now I won't do it in front of you all
237. 37:39right um kind of the big four the big four um large language models behind chat EBT Claude Bard and Microsoft
238. 37:48co-pilot like I said Microsoft co-pilot is their version of chat GPT it's good except it's safe safety guard rails are

244. 38:44a month in my opinion I'm paying it because I'm a dumb Dome um okay specialty large language models PI from
245. 38:52from inflection is a conversational bot that you can talk to that's really good perplexity is really good if you want to
246. 38:59do research the whole llama family llama 2 um family from meta has you know lit the open- source community on fire there
247. 39:09are now hundreds I would no that's not true thousands of open- source projects you can go play with so if you're geeky
248. 39:16go explore that world and then you've got po which lets you play with a bunch of different models so so you got chat
249. 39:23GPT plus nine other options for large language models for chat GPT like things at this point in the industry it
250. 39:32is worth understanding the advantages and disadvantages of as many of those as possible but why Kyle can't I just learn
251. 39:41one which one's the best well which one's the best for what if you want to have a 4-Hour conversation with a
252. 39:47chatbot in your car uh it ain't going to be it ain't G to be barred it is going to be pie you could also use chat PT if
253. 39:57you want to do research that has as low a likelihood as possible of hallucination with verifiable links on
254. 40:04everything it searches for you want perplexity you don't want pi because Pi is super chatty and if you're just doing
255. 40:11research you just want answers right so all of these have their strengths and weaknesses and it's good to understand
256. 40:16them same too with image generation you've got Dolly 3 which lives inside chat GPT and uh Microsoft co-pilot it's
257. 40:26really really good um but but doesn't give you quite as much control as something like mid Journey which is
258. 40:32super high quality and mid Journey they just came out with version six and it looks to be quite remarkable and I I I I've even seen some
259. 40:43people using mid Journey version 6 doing text so mid Journey historically couldn't do text it looks like version 6
260. 40:50can to at least the some version of a degree better than it was Korea has this thing called real time image creation
261. 40:58which is kind of like jazz where you're not really prompting but you're more playing visually it's pretty insane um
262. 41:06Leonardo used to be just a simple image generation tool it's now got like four or five major functions on it it's
263. 41:12absolutely [ __ ] insane uh and then Adobe Firefly if you're in a corporation it has not been trained on copywritten
264. 41:20images so it's this is way more safe in a corporate environment than all the others so there like there's reasons to use all
265. 41:31of them uh and and and so anything on this list is on there because I think it's worth your time to understand what
266. 41:38it does some of them don't have free trials like mid Journey doesn't have a free trial anymore so they're kind of
267. 41:44[ __ ] for that but whatever um you can at least go look at what people do with it then there's the video creation
268. 41:50tools Runway ml Visa Moon Valley and haen uh I I'm going to demo something from he Jen that I I went to hey Jen had
269. 41:58a uh an office hours like a webinar today about a new feature called personalized video uh that looks like holy [ __ ] um
270. 42:08but we're going to go we're going to go look at that um music and audio you got 11 11 labs for voice and audio synthesis like
271. 42:19if you want to clone your own voice you can do it quite easily with this you can also translate your voice into a bunch
272. 42:25of different langu angues which coincidentally hey Jen uses as their audio um engine for their amazing video [ __ ] that they
273. 42:36do um you got refusion and sunno sunno um it was just announced yesterday that Microsoft cut a deal with sunno and this
274. 42:45is now built into Microsoft co-pilot so you can make songs and we did we did it yesterday this is when I had to leave
275. 42:53early I had everyone make songs in Microsoft soft co-pilot and share them on the AI salon and then I had to leave

298. 46:35about seven or eight applications that are all rolled into this single interface and like just understanding like like a hint of what
299. 46:47it makes possible is is is really really hard um but but worth it and and a a lot of the tools in here
300. 46:56are like that like like Leonardo that I was just saying like it used to be a complicated but straightforward tool now
301. 47:03it's a complicated and really complex tool cuz it can do so much um Firefly's got a bunch of extensions and things
302. 47:10like that it's getting you know crazy so's Runway ml for video um hey Jen is now a whole bunch of different products
303. 47:20some of which are absolutely [ __ ] remarkable um 11 labs whole worldo making making music is is just a whole thing in and of
304. 47:29itself like the difference between 11 labs refusion sunno and sound draw like sound draw is a loop comp
305. 47:39composer andso and refusion are waveform composers they're two very different things but depending on the kind of
306. 47:47music you want you those different approaches have different advantages so then I got 3D worlds and objects there's

314. 49:08generating generating a video either from an image source a video Source or text um it's super janky it's super
315. 49:18weird it generates short 4 second clips that mostly don't look like what you thought they would but occasionally are good enough that
316. 49:28you're like holy [ __ ] um and then you can take a 4 second clip and you can extend it for another 4 seconds and you can do that four times
317. 49:38so you can actually end up with I think they have an 18sec max length you can actually end up with an 18sec clip which
318. 49:45if you're cutting together different clips you can absolutely tell a story with it the other thing that Runway ml
319. 49:51has and I've got to put this in here this is probably worth editing for but wait the other thing Runway ml has is this runway.
320. 50:06TV now this is going to be completely changed I'm sure well it looks like they cleaned it up a little bit so if you remember the
321. 50:17early days of of Netflix it it kind of had a similar when when Netflix went online it kind of had a similar kind of
322. 50:24interface is this th this is basically just like one of those like you know V video templates from from uh from
323. 50:34webflow or one of the you know Squarespace is what it feels like um but all of the videos on here had to have
324. 50:44some some part of them made with Runway ML and let's just grab one so these are people people making
325. 50:56films without cameras right they're just making films by generating video out of this tool or shooting things on cameras
326. 51:04and incorporating some of this stuff into their stuff and so there's a ton of these and it and you can also let me see go to live
327. 51:16TV it'll just randomly pop one in there I got to be careful of this cuz I could get permanently banned if it shows the wrong [ __ ]
328. 51:27but what's cool about this is in the upper right hand corner um you can either submit a bumper which is an ad
329. 51:34for Runway TV like if you remember MTV I Want My MTV you can make your own version of that for Runway TV and they
330. 51:43will use it for advertising or you can submit a film so you can go make a film right now you could go learn Runway ml
331. 51:51figure out how this [ __ ] Works do some voiceover [ __ ] with it or if you're not comfortable talking go to go to 11 labs and synthesize a

341. 53:21why especially when you get into multimedia stuff it just gets crazy um visla app. v. us visla is if you need
342. 53:30like a corporate video where you're not generating original video but you're just putting together stock video images
343. 53:37what that's what visa does you say I want a video I I did this I I went there and I said I want a video about um fly
344. 53:46fishing the Delaware River on a you know on a on a fall morning as the fog lifts off the water and and it goes and finds
345. 53:56stock footage of people fishing the Delaware River and then it stitches it all together writes a script and then
346. 54:04narrates and puts background music behind the video like it generates a video for you of stock footage so that's
347. 54:11what visa does so if you if you just need a corporate video about I don't know let's let's say you're you're
348. 54:17having your uh your big corporate retreat in Toledo Ohio you can just say I I want a a b-roll of people doing
349. 54:25interesting [ __ ] in Toledo Ohio it'll go find that and put it together for you like and then you just pay for it and it
350. 54:31takes all the water marks off the stock video it's pretty slick um Moon Valley and pabs are kind of like Runway ml pabs
351. 54:40just released a new version called Pika 1.0 which is really quite good it's it's I would say quality-wise it's more
352. 54:48consistent than Runway ml right now but those two are going to be battling and then hey Jen and and hang on hey Jen and
353. 54:57did this is why these are out of order hey Jen and did they need to be next to each other and so to the the other ones that are directly
354. 55:07alike these are Avatar makers so you upload a picture and then you just type in text and pick a voice and it'll turn
355. 55:16that picture into a talking head talking about [ __ ] um and what kind of things can you do with that here let me show [Music]

357. 55:39narrative and sometimes our clients can't find people to tell their stories but they still have stories to tell well
358. 55:45we can now generate a Persona using chat GPT we can say here's the Persona framework we want to know the person's
359. 55:53age and their so socioeconomic background and their ethnicity and their uh their I don't know social background
360. 56:01their Hobbies their professional background their health background and then we can then have that Persona answer a set of storyvine
361. 56:11prompts that allows them to tell their story so so a person that doesn't exist is invented in concept and then that
362. 56:19person tells their story that we guide them to tell in the way we we want them to tell it we can then visualize what
363. 56:26they look like and then we can synthesize their voice so here's one of those hi I'm George Miller my life's
364. 56:34always been about Simple Pleasures cooking my Catch of the Day and enjoying the quiet of the country there's nothing
365. 56:41like the piece of fishing at dawn or the aroma of a home-cooked meal but when I was diagnosed with diabetes everything

407. 1:03:42app acts as serves as a virtual director so we capture the little segments of a story one after the other I can now take
408. 1:03:51because it's a modular approach to storytelling do you have any of your haen vids on YouTube would love to

421. 1:05:44Spanish and so that's Ellen in her voice but she's speaking Spanish I don't know if she speaks Spanish but she does now
422. 1:05:53and now I can take those modules I can put them back in the story Vine system with translated lower third titles right
423. 1:06:00so I can take the English titles that were on the English video I can translate those in Spanish put them back
424. 1:06:06in the storyvine system and then it generates [Music]
425. 1:06:23this right so here's the Spanish you know lower third and so I can I can you know completely take an English thing and put
426. 1:06:35that in a in in another language I can then put it into a system that I just built that um generates transcriptions
427. 1:06:46and YouTube descriptions and a bunch of other stuff I can put the Spanish version of it in that system and

434. 1:08:17February like early on I created automations that would take it an input and translate it into a social media
435. 1:08:24post and things like that like I got I got how it worked really early on but like what it meant to my

437. 1:08:43repin it because I I wouldn't mind reading the exact quote but it was basically like the thing that makes me me is my
438. 1:08:51authenticity what happens being authentic is what has always made me me what happens when ai's authenticity Rivals it and it will and

440. 1:09:11their their painfully awkward webinar um I got access to it um I'll show you what it does it's it's pretty mind-blowing um so

442. 1:09:27going to be pretty good just based on the other [ __ ] that they do um so let me answer your question lunatick in a kind of roundabout
443. 1:09:42way there's a handful of value propositions for for my company we've been around for 11 and 1/2 years we we
444. 1:09:51um our T our primary target market is is Healthcare and Pharma and so like Pharma clients will use storyvine to do
445. 1:10:00authentic patient videos like a patient talking about their diagnosis or a doctor talking about a treatment and why
446. 1:10:06they choose it over another treatment or salespeople creating personalized videos um for outreach to doctors right and
447. 1:10:20and a big part of our value proposition is that you answer some questions on video in an app it goes up to the cloud
448. 1:10:30and 5 minutes later you've got a fully edited video we call it automagic editing automagic that automation as sexy as it is is
449. 1:10:45essentially going to be valueless in a year probably not even a year everything's going to be automated like

486. 1:16:45splatted it on something and you can tell that's a human being did that I think things that retain the mark of humanness and
487. 1:16:57the and the attachment to humanness I feel like they're going to become incredibly valuable I don't think I don't think authenticity is
488. 1:17:12absolute I think it's a spectrum like neurodiversity so I talk about content like this so I've got this I've got this
489. 1:17:25what is it concept framework I don't know I've got this idea about content so a lot of times I'm hearing artists right
490. 1:17:34now being really pissed off at AI like it's taking a job of artists and it's and they're super angry about it
491. 1:17:41and I absolutely get why right it's it's an existential threat if mid Journey gets too good photographers are [ __ ]
492. 1:17:51and artists are [ __ ] and Ill illustrators are [ __ ] right and but not all art is created equal and
493. 1:18:00and so the the the concept that I've got is content falls into roughly three categories in in this pyramid at the
494. 1:18:09bottom of the pyramid is what I call it's got to be good enough not super technical but the bottom of the pyramid most art that is
495. 1:18:20generated in the world is going to be used on a social media ad for a week or a day or it's going to be used on a
496. 1:18:28magazine ad that's going to be printed once and then never seen again other than if someone looks it up in the
497. 1:18:32library and right and it's just got to be good enough and I feel like most of the good enough art can be automated like the the
498. 1:18:43spelling of of do at this point is good enough is good enough that you can either just let the typo slide if you're
499. 1:18:51if you're doing something like this this Channel and I just need a cute image up here it doesn't really [ __ ] matter if
500. 1:18:57it's if it's learning lab has two B's on it is good enough so like all that [ __ ] can be automated and and that's going to
501. 1:19:08create a net increase of art produced because people are going to be producing art where they never would have hired an
502. 1:19:14artist anyway right so that's the good enough part then there's the middle part which is I want it to be
503. 1:19:21good and that's where we start to blend humans back into the mix right where it's like okay I want it to be good I'm
504. 1:19:30going to generate maybe I'm going to do concepting in um Dolly 3 or mid journey and then I'm going to take it into
505. 1:19:38Photoshop or illustrator and I'm going to add typography and I'm going to bring it into after effects and add some
506. 1:19:43motion things to it and I'm going to we're going to make it you know good right and that's going to be this hybrid
507. 1:19:50approach where humans are collab collaborating with this stuff and then I think the top of the pyramid is it's got
508. 1:19:57to be [ __ ] excellent we're making a Hollywood film I'm it's it's not just going in a magazine it's going in you
509. 1:20:05know time magazines person of the year and it's got to be [ __ ] excellent right because it it's going to be hung
510. 1:20:11on people's walls and it's got to be great it's going to it's an image that's going to live at the Olympics that's where you're going to
511. 1:20:18have full-on you know artistic contribution from humans may be assisted by AI in in some of the process to get
512. 1:20:26there but like human beings are not going to let that [ __ ] out of their control I feel like the same thing with
513. 1:20:32authenticity there's there's some authenticity that just needs to be good enough one of the things I want to
514. 1:20:38experiment with did just announced um they're they're putting together a thing which is called an uh an agent
515. 1:20:48real time agent I don't yeah I think it's called a realtime agent so I can take a likeness of me I can turn it into
516. 1:20:55a realtime agent that talks like me looks like me and you can interact with it in real time so I could create an AI
517. 1:21:04learning lab bot that uses transcripts of these lives as its knowledge base and then you could type to it and ask questions and I'll answer
518. 1:21:15you that just needs to be authentic enough it's like oh yeah that looks like Kyle and I know I'm interacting with a
519. 1:21:20bot here and it's a little janky but who gives a [ __ ] that's like at the bottom of that thing then I think there's a
520. 1:21:25middle tier where it's like it's going to be this sort of augmented it's got to be pretty authentic and I'm going to
521. 1:21:32control the messaging and then there's the top of the pyramid where it's going to be like fullon authentic Human
522. 1:21:39Experience and that top of the pyramid [ __ ] I feel like in in all Industries the top of the Pyramid of good enough
523. 1:21:46good and excellent is where humans kind of retain their their power and and I think their power actually gets Amplified because they can
524. 1:21:57be more productive more expressive with these tools but it's coming you know sort essentially 100% from them so I
525. 1:22:05know that's a long a long winding answer to but it's a really complicated question and I think we're going to have
526. 1:22:11to all grapple with it like where is where are our personal boundaries right some artists don't have a good enough boundary some artists are
527. 1:22:21like [ __ ] you I'll never do Commercial Art this is about for me the craft of being an artist and the pain and the
528. 1:22:30authenticity and if you don't like what I do [ __ ] you and I would never work for the corporate man and other people are
529. 1:22:39like eh I gave that a shot I need a paycheck you need some good enough art I'm here for you you need some good art
530. 1:22:48I can do that too I'll take the good enough art and I'll take my skills and I'll upscale it so that it's actually good not just good
531. 1:22:58enough so but I think we're all going to we're we're all going to have to watch as these tools move up that pyramid cuz

533. 1:23:17think it was on live last night um someone described they they sent someone some chat GPT copy and and the the
534. 1:23:24person said they immediately knew it was Ai and then the response was um chat GPT is the fluorescent lighting of writing
535. 1:23:34which I thought was [ __ ] brilliant right so so it's still janky all this content is still janky and weird and
536. 1:23:42awkward and not quite right and uncanny valley it's not going to be like that for long so it's going to creep up
537. 1:23:48that that value triangle um pretty quick and then I think we as artists and contributors need to figure out where
538. 1:23:56are our personal boundaries and it's there's no there's no perfect answer for any of it but it's not AI is
539. 1:24:03evil because it takes the work of all artists no it doesn't there's some work that it it's going to actually generate new
540. 1:24:12work that wouldn't have employed an artist anyway now there's some where it is going to take jobs but there's also going to be
541. 1:24:22there's also going to be new kinds of jobs in the world that we can't even anticipate right now like like
542. 1:24:35curating there's going to be such a massive content put out in the world whose job is it to curate that and
543. 1:24:41edit it and figure out what's good and what's not what Rises to the top how do you how do you in a in a Content world of sort of infinite
544. 1:24:54personalization how do you get any single piece of art to stand above everyone making their own personal
545. 1:25:02story book for their kid how do you get your story book to rise above enough that people actually go oh that story
546. 1:25:11book is good enough that I want that for my kid I'm not just going to do my version of that like that one's that one's a level above I don't
547. 1:25:21know artists artists are G to the weirdos what what this this this live tonight started out with Cindy Coon's um her post about

557. 1:27:07Humanity amplifiers right these are not robots these are all of these tools have been trained on the output of other human
558. 1:27:20beings and so when when you interact with them it's kind of like the history of humanity is giving you the answer that that you
559. 1:27:30need and if you think about it like that and not like oh it's a robot doing a mathematical calculation uh yeah AI is
560. 1:27:38nothing more than a probability calculation it's it's just mathematics it's just it's just choosing the uh the
561. 1:27:44next most uh probable word in a sequence and it it doesn't even really know what that word is it's just a a mathematical
562. 1:27:50uh uh point in Vector space thousand dimensional Vector space blah they are technically correct that's what these tools are they're
563. 1:28:00calculators they're probability engines but because they've been trained on the output of human beings they are
564. 1:28:08reflection of us or whoever the US is that put [ __ ] on the internet for the past four decades and so the weirdos the people
565. 1:28:19right now that internalize these tools and start to I think it's one of the things that makes these tools so

572. 1:29:16I I got to see the filing system but she's got some sort of filing system with index cards on it where she takes
573. 1:29:22all of her wacky ideas she writes them on index cards and when gpts came out she went to her [ __ ] index cards and
574. 1:29:29she's she's made more than 50 gpts of ideas that she's had over the years that she never quite got to or couldn't get
575. 1:29:35to in a particular way and now they're like instantly accessible to her it's it's profoundly moving if you if if you take the time to

577. 1:29:56did a report at the beginning of the year 87% of people in America had not used chat GPT or were not using chat GPT

618. 1:36:46got to do something with that video to being able to create a whole authentic narrative world around that
619. 1:36:56story that I can I can communicate to different audiences and different and and then I can take this video and
620. 1:37:03translate it into 27 different languages so if I'm a global organization I could take a video of the CEO or some VP
621. 1:37:12giving some inspirational message and they can now deliver that message in language in all the different markets
622. 1:37:22this is transformative like this is I don't know I mean I'm biased cuz I just built this thing like I've only had this

691. 1:48:07those plugins and say find me academic papers on this subject and it goes and finds them and or you upload a PDF like
692. 1:48:15the person said it wasn't doing good right now you can also do that on Claude you can also uh no you can't do that on
693. 1:48:23on co-pilot I would say right now it's probably I would think perplexity could probably do that but I don't know it
694. 1:48:31well enough but you can upload it to Claude you can upload it I I for me right now cat gp4 is everything perplex
695. 1:48:39per perplexity is good for academic research yeah I figured so so yeah probably per perplexity chat gp4 are are
