3:08 word I'm not weird I'm
3:11 irregular um she just posted a uh a
3:18 report that talks about the rise of the
3:22 weirdos that
3:24 that
3:26 attacking AI
3:29 creatively is going to be one of the
3:31 power centers in
3:33 2024 well I could have [ __ ] told you
3:35 that they should have interviewed me for
3:37 that report I got a whole bucket of
3:39 weirdos over
3:43 here oh man have we got Irregulars for
3:49 you and it's so cool it's such a cool
3:54 Community um I want to start
3:58 out um if you're new here welcome my
4:01 name is Kyle Shannon this dayi learning
4:03 lab we hang out here every night last
4:05 night I had to cut things a little short
4:07 there was a little slight family drama
4:10 um my wife was sick my kids are sick and
4:13 my wife got like just really like
4:16 fatigued and like couldn't talk right
4:18 we're like holy [ __ ] and uh so we gave
4:22 her a home covid test and by jingus she
4:25 tested positive and so we went to the
4:28 emergency room and confirmed that and
4:31 she's on Pax lvid now and she's been
4:34 vaccinated but not boosted but she's
4:36 she's feeling better today so it seems
4:38 like yesterday was the worst of it
4:41 um so it is possible I I had it I don't
4:46 know but
4:48 on Tuesday when we had the salon I had a
4:51 headache all day I don't get headaches
4:53 all day I'll I I usually get like a
4:54 dehydration headache in the morning and
4:56 it's gone by noon and I started getting
4:59 a headache at like 10:00 in the morning
5:01 and then by the time we had the salon at
5:03 5:00 it was just [ __ ] blasting and so
5:06 for most of the salon I was like
5:08 crosseyed in
5:10 pain and uh and then like the last 15
5:13 minutes of the salon it just kind of
5:14 dissipated and went away which was weird
5:16 um but um but it's so it's Poss because
5:20 it was a weird headache it's possible
5:21 that that was my symptom uh but it's
5:24 also possible that I didn't get it and I
5:26 might so I'll keep you
5:28 posted if
5:30 if I end up uh you know not being able
5:32 to do these for a day or two you know
5:34 it's right around Christmas it'll give
5:36 us a
5:37 break but but I am I am committed one of
5:41 the things that I think could be fun is
5:44 to do a we'll do like a either a
5:47 Christmas Eve or a Christmas day like
5:51 we'll plan an escape from the
5:54 relatives so so I'll just do I'll just
5:57 do like an hour and you can just be like
5:59 hey I gotta I got to talk to my uh my
6:02 high school friend Sally just run into
6:04 the back room and we can do a little
6:09 something oh God that's pretty funny so
6:12 anyway so so that's what happened last
6:14 night that's why I got cut short so
6:16 little bit of drama we're we're we're an
6:19 immune compromised house so so CO's no
6:22 joke but we're on it we're jump we
6:23 jumped on it so anyway all right enough
6:28 comedy jokes
6:31 enough enough [ __ ] reality setting in
6:33 let's get back to being
6:35 weirdos oh man got to go for a walk with
6:39 my cousins yeah exactly Barbara Kyle I
6:42 had a headache too but the sick part
6:44 kicked in three to four day days later
6:46 yeah I that's that's kind of my fear is
6:49 that I got a I got a ass kicking coming
6:51 to me but we'll see we'll see I I
6:54 reached out to my doc so I'm going to
6:56 I'm going to sort of preemptively have
6:58 her prescribed Pax l
7:00 cuz that what's the what the doc said is
7:02 like okay well she's got it chances are
7:03 pretty good you've got it if you don't
7:06 if you start feeling not good just go on
7:09 the paid don't take a test just assume
7:11 you have it go on the PA viid and
7:13 doesn't hurt to take it and knock that
7:15 [ __ ] out so that's what we'll
7:20 do I'm also my uh my hydration of choice

9:10 realizes what an idiot he is and he
9:14 starts laughing oh my God that show
9:17 could be such a such a snore sometimes

9:23 good all right copious amounts of
9:25 Elderberry all right the ginger turmeric
9:29 tea thing okay I can I can we've got
9:32 we've got stuff here believe me we uh
9:35 I've got three long uh Long Haul lime
9:39 patients in the house
9:41 so we know about the immune
9:47 system all right also garlic but that
9:51 gives major heartb burden cuz I'm
9:52 obviously a vampire yeah you got to be
9:54 careful with that lunar stick you can't
9:57 just be going on the garlic with teeth
9:59 with fangs like

10:13 um I've got I've got some new AI stuff
10:17 some new AI what are they features some
10:19 new
10:21 AI a new AI vision for my company and
10:26 I've built some stuff I've got like a
10:28 functional tool right now
10:30 and it's blowing people's [ __ ] mind
10:32 you know what's funny you know when you
10:34 build stuff and the minute well I don't
10:36 know if you experien this this might be
10:38 an add thing I bet this is an add
10:41 thing I've got this thing where I'll get
10:44 really excited about something I'm like
10:46 oh I got an idea I know how to solve
10:48 this major ass problem and then I go
10:51 into my hyperfocus tunnel and I build
10:53 some
10:54 [ __ ] and then the minute it's built I'm
10:56 like well yeah that's obvious like
10:57 everyone could have done that like I
10:59 immediately dismiss the novelty of it
11:01 cuz it's built it's done like the adren
11:03 the endorphins are gone the adrenaline's
11:06 gone and now I got this thing I'm like
11:08 yeah that thing that thing I made yeah
11:09 it's whatever um and I'm I'm not quite
11:14 like that with this like it's still kind
11:15 of blowing my mind that it does what it
11:18 does but it's [ __ ] melting people's
11:21 faces they're looking at this thing
11:24 going H this this changes everything do
11:28 you know what you could do with this so
11:29 I'm getting those kind of reactions and
11:31 I've like Story vine I I generally get
11:33 really positive reactions and and it's
11:35 one of the it's been one of the
11:37 challenges of the business is we we we
11:40 it took us a while to figure out the the
11:43 difference between the false positives
11:45 and the and people willing to write a
11:47 check cuz everyone got excited about it
11:50 but it was only you know 20% of them
11:52 that would actually do business with you
11:54 and and like separating those that took
11:56 us a while to crack that
11:58 nut this this is this is people are
12:01 losing their minds a little bit I
12:02 haven't shown it to that many people but
12:04 I'll I'll show you a little bit of it
12:06 um but yeah so anyway this this
12:11 article um I love that

12:28 making my way through them there are

12:54 reports use language like the Misfits
12:57 lead the way to the creative future

14:39 was really cool um where I just showed

14:47 salon so let me tell you a little bit
14:49 about the AI Salon oh that's my
14:51 presentation I can show you some of that

14:56 is a group of weirdos
14:59 this is a group of AI Adventures so
15:02 people that are choosing to be on the AI
15:04 adventure together and I started this a
15:09 week after chat GPT came out and wait
15:13 can you make it a vector image um yeah
15:16 there's there's lots of uh I I can
15:19 either make it a vector image or I can
15:21 take it into like a 4K
15:23 upscaler um there are a number of tools
15:26 that vectorize it and then um there's
15:29 also a number of tools that do AI
15:31 upscaling where they actually add
15:33 details to it and it might de janky it
15:36 but I think I I actually think that that
15:39 vectorizing that image will make it a
15:41 little more janky which feels more on BR
15:45 brand um would you like to place an

18:06 apparently Tik Tok used to be have a
18:09 business relationship with
18:11 printful because there's a plugin for
18:14 printful into Tik Tok but they stopped
18:16 supporting them so they let they let
18:19 people order the shirt but they wouldn't
18:21 send me that person's address so I had
18:24 no way so the only people I could
18:26 actually fulfill their shirts was people
18:28 like connected with that like physically
18:30 mailed me a shirt or or or you know
18:33 physically mailed me their address or or
18:35 like you know emailed me their address
18:37 it was a [ __ ] nightmare and I had to
18:39 like undo this entire Byzantine [ __ ]
18:42 structure and I was I was trying to deal
18:45 with Tik Tock technical support was
18:48 absolute
18:49 Insanity I'm I'm like I'm like hey I've
18:53 got printful integrated into my Tik Tock
18:56 shop that I got from your site and I
18:59 can't get the address and they're like
19:01 no we're not going to give you that

23:33 salon and it's it talks about you know
23:37 who we are why we do what we do um and
23:39 it talks about our values so things like
23:42 curiosity and generosity and exploration
23:45 and collaboration and inclusion and
23:48 empathy um and we talk talk about what
23:51 that actually means to us and and um you
23:54 know how we want the community who who
23:57 we want in the community people that
23:58 resonate with these values and and
24:00 support these values and and live by
24:02 these values um if you resonate with
24:05 these values this is your people right
24:08 this is the Irregulars this is weirdos
24:10 this is people that are actively
24:11 choosing to be on this AI adventure
24:13 together if those values don't resonate
24:15 with you that's cool too but this is
24:17 probably not your people so I want the
24:20 AI Salon to grow I want as many people
24:23 as possible getting up to speed on this
24:25 that's kind of my been my mission for
24:27 the past year um so check that check

26:20 secretly AI literate and don't don't
26:22 want anyone else to know and then we

26:29 and then I think there's there's always
26:30 sort of a new round of secret cyborgs
26:33 coming in so that's that's pretty funny
26:35 um that's that's

26:44 awesome so I only asked for five she did

27:29 possible with it and the minute you do
27:31 that you kind of latch on to oh I could
27:34 do X and in her case she's choosing to
27:37 express herself by doing personalized
27:39 cards for her friends that's so cool
27:42 like I feel like we're moving into this
27:43 future of hyper personalization where
27:46 we're all going to be able to express
27:48 ourselves as
27:49 humans in incredibly powerful ways even
27:53 if we don't have art skills or music
27:55 skills or writing skills or coding
27:58 skills now we get to level up on all the
28:01 [ __ ] we were never good at but always
28:03 wanted to do that's a remarkable

29:19 things to explore with chat GPT there's
29:22 chat GPT 3.5 which is the free version
29:24 of chat
29:25 GPT um so if you just go to chat.
29:28 open.com that's that now if you pay 20
29:31 bucks a month you get access to chat gp4
29:34 it's called Uh chat GPT plus is is the
29:37 name of the subscription it's 20 bucks a
29:40 month this is a multimodal
29:43 state-of-the-art tool and and this is my
29:47 opinion I I wrote this document worth
29:49 the investment the 20 bucks a month
29:52 there there are so many things I've
29:54 started taking medications after
29:56 watching these live

30:03 taking my
30:09 medication that's [ __ ] awesome oh my
30:13 God what do I think of meta Ray bands
30:15 take on new meeting of multimodal vision
30:18 um I I think that they
30:22 are I think that they're sort of version
30:25 0.1 of of what those things will
30:29 be
30:33 um here's what I think is most
30:35 interesting about the wearable [ __ ]
30:39 there's the pin that just came out the
30:40 $700 pin that's got a camera and a
30:43 microphone in it there's those those
30:46 Rayband glasses from meta there's other
30:49 there's other glasses that I just saw
30:51 today that were advertised that record

31:30 world where these tools can instantly
31:33 process massive amounts of data right I
31:36 can upload my screenplay I wrote 30
31:38 years ago and it reads it in an instant
31:41 and will write me a Hollywood log line
31:43 so it can record [ __ ] all day and then I
31:46 can just say oh who was I talking to at
31:48 lunch that was an interesting
31:49 conversation Oh you talked to someone
31:51 named Fred at Starbucks and he asked you
31:55 about something and you said this and
31:57 and then he saidoh I have a business
31:59 that does why right what's Fred's number
32:01 here's Fred's number he told it to you
32:04 right
32:06 so that ability to instantly process
32:09 massive amounts of of information all of
32:12 a sudden makes data Gathering things
32:16 viable now are they valuable is it a
32:20 waste of time is it an invasion of
32:23 privacy is it like all the eth there's
32:26 like 8 billion
32:28 issues like where's that data going are
32:31 those people mining your data of what
32:33 you do every day if you forget to hit
32:36 stop on the record button and it records
32:39 something nefarious you did are they
32:40 going to turn you into like I don't like
32:43 the the the depth of
32:47 unanswerable ethical
32:49 moral copyright trademark just basic
32:54 human decency issues that those things
32:56 unload
32:58 on us are
32:59 insane um I I you know it's going to be
33:03 a decade till we unravel all that but
33:06 but I would say that they are they are
33:09 interesting in that we now have
33:11 technology to be able to make sense of
33:13 the data um so what happened to Google
33:15 Glass it
33:17 was eight years before its time right
33:20 and it and it was also
33:23 it it looked like the douchy
33:26 future the nice thing about rayb band
33:29 The R the ray band's glasses from meta
33:32 is if you didn't if you're not paying
33:34 too close attention they just look like
33:36 glasses right the the single prism over
33:40 one
33:41 eye like I I went to I think I was in
33:45 South by
33:47 Southwest and I went to some party and
33:49 there was some dude there wearing Google
33:51 Glass and he's like hey man how's it
33:54 going and I could just see his eyes like
33:56 darting off to the corner looking at his

34:01 talking to me but trying to pretend to
34:02 be in the conversation it was I don't
34:05 know it was weird so I think Google
34:08 Glass represented the douche
34:10 future and mass adoption won't happen
34:13 until actual human beings can use the

37:33 now the problem is that the formatting
37:35 is all [ __ ] weird with this software

37:39 right um kind of the big four the big
37:42 four um large language models behind
37:45 chat EBT Claude Bard and Microsoft
37:49 co-pilot like I said Microsoft co-pilot
37:51 is their version of chat GPT it's good
37:56 except it's safe safety guard rails are
37:58 so stringent that I find it maddeningly
38:01 frustrating you can't get [ __ ] done with
38:03 it um so it has a lot of potential pay
38:06 attention to it Microsoft's not going to
38:08 let that thing completely fail and their
38:11 entire company is being bet on that
38:14 technology um Bard is now this is now
38:17 Gemini Pro which is kind of their their
38:20 um chat GPT 3.5 model is is that
38:24 now when they release Gemini Ultra I
38:27 don't know if it's still going to be
38:28 b.google.r
38:34 something like that that you'll pay for
38:37 uh that's going to get really good grock
38:40 right now is a stupid [ __ ] parlor
38:41 trick toy uh that is not worth 16 bucks
38:44 a month in my opinion I'm paying it
38:46 because I'm a dumb Dome um okay
38:49 specialty large language models PI from
38:52 from inflection is a conversational bot
38:56 that you can talk to that's really good
38:58 perplexity is really good if you want to
38:59 do research the whole llama family llama
39:02 2 um family from meta has you know lit
39:07 the open- source community on fire there
39:09 are now hundreds I would no that's not
39:12 true thousands of open- source projects
39:15 you can go play with so if you're geeky
39:17 go explore that world and then you've
39:18 got po which lets you play with a bunch
39:21 of different models so so you got chat
39:23 GPT plus nine other options for large
39:26 language models for chat GPT like
39:29 things at this point in the industry it
39:32 is worth understanding the advantages
39:35 and disadvantages of as many of those as
39:38 possible but why Kyle can't I just learn
39:41 one which one's the best well which
39:43 one's the best for what if you want to
39:45 have a 4-Hour conversation with a
39:47 chatbot in your car uh it ain't going to
39:51 be it ain't G to be barred it is going
39:53 to be pie you could also use chat PT if
39:57 you want to do research that has as low
40:00 a likelihood as possible of
40:02 hallucination with verifiable links on
40:05 everything it searches for you want
40:06 perplexity you don't want pi because Pi
40:09 is super chatty and if you're just doing
40:11 research you just want answers right so
40:14 all of these have their strengths and
40:15 weaknesses and it's good to understand
40:17 them same too with image generation
40:20 you've got Dolly 3 which lives inside
40:22 chat GPT and uh Microsoft co-pilot it's
40:26 really really good um but but doesn't
40:29 give you quite as much control as
40:31 something like mid Journey which is
40:33 super high quality and mid Journey they
40:35 just came out with version six and it
40:38 looks to be quite
40:40 remarkable and I I I I've even seen some
40:44 people using mid Journey version 6 doing
40:46 text so mid Journey historically
40:48 couldn't do text it looks like version 6
40:50 can to at least the some version of a
40:53 degree better than it was Korea has this
40:56 thing called real time image creation
40:59 which is kind of like jazz where you're
41:01 not really prompting but you're more
41:03 playing visually it's pretty insane um
41:06 Leonardo used to be just a simple image
41:08 generation tool it's now got like four
41:11 or five major functions on it it's
41:13 absolutely [ __ ] insane uh and then
41:15 Adobe Firefly if you're in a corporation
41:19 it has not been trained on copywritten
41:21 images so it's this is way more safe in
41:24 a corporate environment than all the
41:26 others
41:28 so there like there's reasons to use all
41:32 of them uh and and and so anything on
41:35 this list is on there because I think
41:37 it's worth your time to understand what
41:39 it does some of them don't have free
41:41 trials like mid Journey doesn't have a
41:43 free trial anymore so they're kind of
41:45 [ __ ] for that but whatever um you
41:47 can at least go look at what people do
41:49 with it then there's the video creation
41:51 tools Runway ml Visa Moon Valley and
41:54 haen uh I I'm going to demo something
41:56 from he Jen that I I went to hey Jen had
41:59 a uh an office hours like a webinar
42:02 today about a new feature called
42:04 personalized
42:06 video uh that looks like holy [ __ ] um
42:09 but we're going to go we're going to go
42:10 look at
42:12 that um music and audio you got 11 11
42:16 labs for voice and audio synthesis like
42:19 if you want to clone your own voice you
42:22 can do it quite easily with this you can
42:24 also translate your voice into a bunch
42:25 of different langu angues which
42:28 coincidentally hey Jen uses as their
42:31 audio um engine for their amazing video
42:35 [ __ ] that they
42:36 do um you got refusion and sunno sunno
42:41 um it was just announced yesterday that
42:43 Microsoft cut a deal with sunno and this
42:46 is now built into Microsoft co-pilot so
42:50 you can make songs and we did we did it
42:52 yesterday this is when I had to leave
42:53 early I had everyone make songs in
42:56 Microsoft soft co-pilot and share them
42:57 on the AI salon and then I had to leave
42:59 the thing early so sorry about that
43:01 everybody but um but there's a bunch of
43:03 songs on the AI Salon show int tell
43:06 Channel um as a result of that exercise
43:08 which is really cool some of them some
43:10 of them are good some of them are
43:11 cringely bad which is which is one of
43:15 the
43:18 the one of the uh the signs of our times
43:21 is that all of these Technologies are so
43:25 janky that we're going to look back on
43:28 this time fondly I think because these
43:30 tools are going to get very good very
43:32 quickly I had chat GPT review a
43:35 Consulting contract and find
43:37 questionable points and write me an
43:39 email 100% email nice yeah that's
43:42 perfect one of the things chat GPT and
43:45 all these tools quite frankly are good
43:47 at is reading other stuff and commenting
43:49 on it or editing it or uh summarizing it
43:53 anything like that but yeah
43:55 understanding legal documents is a
43:57 superpower without having to go to a
43:59 lawyer where can I see a copy of this

45:44 waste of their time cuz listen there are
45:48 so many tools that most of them are a
45:51 waste of your time and and and
45:55 seriously

46:14 GPT can do at at its basic level like

46:36 about seven or eight applications that

46:41 interface and like just
46:45 understanding like like a hint of what
46:48 it makes possible is is is really really
46:51 hard um but but worth
46:54 it and and a a lot of the tools in here
46:57 are like that like like Leonardo that I
46:59 was just saying like it used to be a
47:02 complicated but straightforward tool now
47:04 it's a complicated and really complex
47:05 tool cuz it can do so much um Firefly's
47:08 got a bunch of extensions and things
47:11 like that it's getting you know crazy
47:13 so's Runway ml for video um hey Jen is
47:17 now a whole bunch of different products
47:20 some of which are absolutely [ __ ]
47:22 remarkable
47:24 um 11 labs whole worldo making making
47:28 music is is just a whole thing in and of
47:30 itself like the difference
47:32 between 11 labs refusion sunno and sound
47:36 draw like sound draw is a loop comp
47:40 composer andso and refusion are waveform
47:43 composers they're two very different
47:45 things but depending on the kind of
47:47 music you want you those different
47:50 approaches have different advantages so
47:53 then I got 3D worlds and objects there's
47:55 really cool stuff in here and then I've
47:58 got these are four people that I think

49:24 thought they would
49:27 but occasionally are good enough that
49:29 you're like holy
49:31 [ __ ] um and then you can take a 4 second
49:34 clip and you can extend it for another 4
49:36 seconds and you can do that four times
49:38 so you can actually end up with I think
49:40 they have an 18sec max length you can
49:43 actually end up with an 18sec clip which
49:45 if you're cutting together different
49:47 clips you can absolutely tell a story
49:49 with it the other thing that Runway ml
49:52 has and I've got to put this in here
49:54 this is probably worth editing for but
49:57 wait the other thing Runway ml has is
50:02 this
50:03 runway.
50:06 TV now this is going to be completely
50:08 changed I'm
50:11 sure well it looks like they cleaned it
50:13 up a little bit so if you remember the

50:59 making films by generating video out of
51:01 this tool or shooting things on cameras
51:05 and incorporating some of this stuff

54:11 what visa does so if you if you just
54:13 need a corporate video about I don't
54:16 know let's let's say you're you're
54:18 having your uh your big corporate
54:20 retreat in Toledo Ohio you can just say
54:22 I I want a a b-roll of people doing

55:51 framework we want to know the person's
55:54 age and their so socioeconomic
55:56 background and their ethnicity and their
55:59 uh their I don't know social background
56:02 their Hobbies their professional
56:03 background their health
56:05 background and then we can then have
56:08 that Persona answer a set of storyvine
56:11 prompts that allows them to tell their
56:13 story so so a person that doesn't exist
56:16 is invented in concept and then that
56:19 person tells their story that we guide
56:22 them to tell in the way we we want them
56:23 to tell it we can then visualize what
56:27 they look like and then we can
56:29 synthesize their voice so here's one of

1:05:55 put them back in the story Vine system
1:05:57 with translated lower third titles right
1:06:01 so I can take the English titles that
1:06:02 were on the English video I can
1:06:05 translate those in Spanish put them back
1:06:07 in the storyvine system and then it

1:10:21 and a big part of our value proposition
1:10:24 is that you answer some questions on
1:10:26 video in an app it goes up to the cloud
1:10:30 and 5 minutes later you've got a fully
1:10:32 edited video we call it automagic

1:10:41 automation as sexy as it is is
1:10:45 essentially going to be valueless in a
1:10:49 year probably not even a year

1:17:34 now being really pissed off at AI like
1:17:37 it's taking a job of artists and
1:17:39 it's and they're super angry about it
1:17:42 and I absolutely get why right it's it's
1:17:46 an existential threat if mid Journey
1:17:49 gets too good photographers are [ __ ]
1:17:52 and artists are [ __ ] and Ill
1:17:53 illustrators are [ __ ] right
1:17:56 and but not all art is created equal and
1:18:01 and so the the the concept that I've got
1:18:03 is content falls into roughly three
1:18:06 categories in in this pyramid at the
1:18:10 bottom of the pyramid is what I call
1:18:13 it's got to be good
1:18:15 enough not super technical but the
1:18:18 bottom of the pyramid most art that is
1:18:21 generated in the world is going to be
1:18:22 used on a social media ad for a week or
1:18:26 a day or it's going to be used on a
1:18:28 magazine ad that's going to be printed
1:18:30 once and then never seen again other
1:18:32 than if someone looks it up in the
1:18:33 library and right and it's just got to
1:18:36 be good
1:18:37 enough and I feel like most of the good
1:18:40 enough art can be automated like the the
1:18:44 spelling of of do at this point is good
1:18:47 enough is good enough that you can
1:18:49 either just let the typo slide if you're
1:18:52 if you're doing something like this this
1:18:53 Channel and I just need a cute image up
1:18:55 here it doesn't really [ __ ] matter if
1:18:57 it's if it's learning lab has two B's on
1:19:01 it is good enough so like all that [ __ ]
1:19:05 can be automated and and that's going to
1:19:08 create a net increase of art produced
1:19:11 because people are going to be producing
1:19:13 art where they never would have hired an
1:19:15 artist anyway right so that's the good
1:19:17 enough part then there's the middle part
1:19:19 which is I want it to be
1:19:22 good and that's where we start to blend
1:19:25 humans back into the mix right where
1:19:28 it's like okay I want it to be good I'm
1:19:30 going to generate maybe I'm going to do
1:19:33 concepting in um Dolly 3 or mid journey
1:19:37 and then I'm going to take it into
1:19:39 Photoshop or illustrator and I'm going
1:19:40 to add typography and I'm going to bring
1:19:42 it into after effects and add some
1:19:44 motion things to it and I'm going to
1:19:46 we're going to make it you know good
1:19:48 right and that's going to be this hybrid
1:19:50 approach where humans are collab
1:19:53 collaborating with this stuff and then I
1:19:55 think the top of the pyramid is it's got
1:19:58 to be [ __ ] excellent we're making a
1:20:00 Hollywood film I'm it's it's not just
1:20:03 going in a magazine it's going in you
1:20:05 know time magazines person of the year
1:20:08 and it's got to be [ __ ] excellent
1:20:10 right because it it's going to be hung
1:20:12 on people's walls and it's got to be
1:20:13 great it's going to it's an image that's
1:20:15 going to live at the
1:20:16 Olympics that's where you're going to
1:20:18 have full-on you know artistic
1:20:21 contribution from humans may be assisted
1:20:24 by AI in in some of the process to get
1:20:26 there but like human beings are not
1:20:28 going to let that [ __ ] out of their
1:20:30 control I feel like the same thing with
1:20:33 authenticity there's there's some
1:20:35 authenticity that just needs to be good
1:20:36 enough one of the things I want to
1:20:38 experiment with did just announced um
1:20:42 they're they're putting together a
1:20:44 thing which is called an uh an agent
1:20:48 real time agent I don't yeah I think
1:20:50 it's called a realtime agent so I can
1:20:53 take a likeness of me I can turn it into
1:20:55 a realtime agent that talks like me
1:20:59 looks like me and you can interact with
1:21:01 it in real time so I could create an AI
1:21:04 learning lab bot that uses transcripts
1:21:08 of these lives as its knowledge base and
1:21:11 then you could type to it and ask
1:21:13 questions and I'll answer
1:21:15 you that just needs to be authentic
1:21:18 enough it's like oh yeah that looks like
1:21:19 Kyle and I know I'm interacting with a
1:21:21 bot here and it's a little janky but who
1:21:23 gives a [ __ ] that's like at the bottom
1:21:24 of that thing then I think there's a
1:21:26 middle tier where it's like it's going
1:21:28 to be this sort of augmented it's got to
1:21:31 be pretty authentic and I'm going to
1:21:32 control the messaging and then there's
1:21:34 the top of the pyramid where it's going
1:21:35 to be like fullon authentic Human
1:21:39 Experience and that top of the pyramid

1:21:44 the top of the Pyramid of good enough
1:21:46 good and excellent is where humans kind
1:21:50 of retain their their power and and I
1:21:53 think their power actually gets
1:21:55 Amplified because they can
1:21:58 be more productive more expressive with
1:22:01 these tools but it's coming you know
1:22:03 sort essentially 100% from them so I
1:22:05 know that's a long a long winding answer

1:22:12 to all grapple with it like where is
1:22:14 where are our personal
1:22:16 boundaries right some artists don't have
1:22:19 a good enough boundary some artists are

1:22:24 Art this is about for me the craft of
1:22:28 being an artist and the pain and the
1:22:31 authenticity and if you don't like what
1:22:32 I do [ __ ] you and I would never work for
1:22:35 the corporate man and other people are

1:23:01 we're we're all going to have to watch
1:23:04 as these tools move up that pyramid cuz
1:23:08 right now these tools sort of are at the
1:23:09 very bottom of the pyramid they're all

1:23:17 think it was on live last night um
1:23:19 someone described they they sent someone
1:23:21 some chat GPT copy and and the the
1:23:24 person said they immediately knew it was
1:23:27 Ai and then the response was um chat GPT
1:23:30 is the fluorescent lighting of writing

1:23:36 right so so it's still janky all this
1:23:40 content is still janky and weird and
1:23:42 awkward and not quite right and uncanny
1:23:44 valley it's not going to be like that
1:23:46 for long so it's going to creep up

1:23:55 contributors need to figure out where
1:23:57 are our personal boundaries and it's
1:23:59 there's no there's no perfect answer for

1:24:04 evil because it takes the work of all

1:24:10 that it it's going to actually generate
1:24:12 new
1:24:13 work that wouldn't have employed an
1:24:16 artist anyway now there's some where it

1:24:20 jobs but there's also going to be
1:24:23 there's also going to be new kinds
1:24:26 of jobs in the world that we can't even

1:24:39 world whose job is it to curate that and

1:27:48 that word is it's just a a mathematical

1:27:58 that's what these tools are they're
1:28:00 calculators they're probability
1:28:03 engines but because they've been trained
1:28:05 on the output of human beings they are
1:28:09 reflection of us or whoever the US is

1:28:16 decades and so the weirdos the people
1:28:19 right now that internalize these tools

1:29:21 with index cards on it where she takes
1:29:22 all of her wacky ideas she writes them

1:29:29 she's she's made more than 50 gpts of
1:29:32 ideas that she's had over the years that
1:29:34 she never quite got to or couldn't get
1:29:36 to in a particular way and now they're
1:29:38 like instantly accessible to

1:29:47 understand what's really going on

1:34:48 not that bad that was pretty

1:34:53 playing and then over here something's
1:34:56 happening I'm from hard Beauty in

1:35:03 help was the moment I was resting my

1:36:47 got to do something with that video to
1:36:49 being able to create a whole authentic
1:36:52 narrative world around that
1:36:56 story that I can I can communicate to
1:36:59 different audiences and different and
1:37:01 and then I can take this video and
1:37:04 translate it into 27 different languages
1:37:06 so if I'm a global organization I could
1:37:09 take a video of the CEO or some VP
1:37:13 giving some inspirational message and
1:37:15 they can now deliver that
1:37:17 message in language in all the different
1:37:21 markets

1:40:51 that this is a [ __ ] powerful usable
1:40:55 tool right now today even though it's in
1:40:58 kind of you know proof of concept stage

1:45:36 realize that even if it can't do your

1:46:02 all the time so you know I uploaded had
1:46:05 chat GPT read read a PDF yeah it it
1:46:07 should be able to do that you might have
1:46:09 hit a glitch where they were updating
1:46:10 something like i' I've I've I've done it
1:46:13 before where it's like it Dolly won't
1:46:15 make an image and then you know an hour
1:46:17 later it does so it's just all the
1:46:19 stuff's being updated while we play with
1:46:22 so um but but you go through that moment
1:46:25 where you you kind of get that this
1:46:28 stuff's really close to what you
1:46:30 do and I think I think the
1:46:35 initial for me the initial emotional
1:46:38 response was I'm
1:46:40 [ __ ] oh [ __ ] I'm [ __ ] and for me it
1:46:44 wasn't just what I did personally but
1:46:46 it's like what my business of 11 and 1/2
1:46:49 years does it just

1:48:07 those plugins and say find me academic
1:48:10 papers on this subject and it goes and
1:48:12 finds them and or you upload a PDF like
1:48:15 the person said it wasn't doing good
1:48:17 right now you can also do that on
1:48:19 Claude
1:48:22 you can also uh no you can't do that on
1:48:24 on co-pilot I would say right now it's
1:48:28 probably I would think perplexity could
1:48:30 probably do that but I don't know it
1:48:31 well enough but you can upload it to
1:48:34 Claude you can upload it I I for me
1:48:37 right now cat gp4 is everything perplex
1:48:39 per perplexity is good for academic
1:48:41 research yeah I figured so so yeah

2:29:36 maybe we each pick a nonprofit of our
2:29:38 choice and do something for them right
2:29:41 give them something powerful that can
2:29:43 help them raise money or deliver their
2:29:45 programs or serve their people or
2:29:47 whatever it is so there I think there's
2:29:49 something that we can do there that
2:29:50 could make a big
