Um, but it it doesn't mean I 11:27 can't look at a company like Apple and 11:29 go, um, they have the [ __ ] cash. They 11:31 could have they could have invested some 11:33 of that, you know, three years ago when 11:35 everyone else did and been in the game 11:37 and they're not. And listen, I get it. 11:38 They're Apple. They come they come late 11:40 to the game and they come hard, but 11:43 shit's moving fast and I don't I don't 11:45 frankly know how they catch up. Maybe 11:46 they buy someone. So, we will see. 11:50 Fascinating. 11:51 You got your first Mac in 1988. I think 11:54 that was when I got mine. Mine was a 512 11:56 KE. It was the second Mac. It still had 12:00 the Mac that I got still had signatures 12:02 on the inside of the case. Um, and then 12:05 and then my first real Mac, the first 12:07 Mac I could do business on was uh like 12:10 desktop publishing was a Mac SE30, which 12:14 then I upgraded to a color card and a 12:17 13-inch monitor. I was [ __ ] baller. 12:21 They will buy someone. Yeah, they'll 12:23 probably buy someone. Um, it's just, you 12:27 know, you know what it is is 12:32 when Jobs put Tim Cook 12:35 in as CEO, 12:38 you know, he did it very intentionally 12:41 so that Apple would survive. He put he 12:43 put the CFO in as CEO 12:47 um because he knew no one was going to 12:49 innovate like him. And so he put in 12:51 someone who was going to have Apple 12:52 survive, which they have. They've 12:54 survived and they've done they've done 12:56 well. 12:58 Um, 13:00 but the last three years, like 13:04 not having Apple in an innovating seat 13:06 is is is a pretty big disappointment. 13:10 Um, the absolute best keyboard ever was 13:13 the one with the iMac, the Egg. Oh, 13:15 yeah. That one was really good. M series 13:18 is pretty good. running local models. 13:21 Yeah. And I I mean, quite frankly, what 13:24 would be nice I mean, here's the thing. 13:27 Apple is clearly preparing for this, 13:29 right? They've got six neural cores on 13:31 their latest on their latest iPhone 13:33 chip. Um, they've got the the liquid 13:36 they they now have liquid cooling in an 13:39 iPhone, right? their their their uh 18 13:42 Pro has liquid cooling in it and six 13:45 neural cores, which basically just means 13:47 they can run AI inference 13:51 really really well for that small a form 13:54 factor. Um, so what that what that says 13:57 to me is they're they're preparing to 13:59 have good AI and they're preparing to 14:01 have good AI that runs locally, but like 14:04 let's have it like like [ __ ] build 14:07 the models, put them out there, start 14:09 experimenting. 14:10 So, you know, we'll see. We will say we 14:14 will say we will say we will say enough 14:16 about Apple. Um, I had the first one. I 14:20 still have the carrying case, not the 14:22 Mac. I had the the one Mac that I wish I 14:25 hadn't sold. I had the 20th anniversary 14:27 Mac. The one that was like the spaceship 14:29 looking thing. That was really cool. 14:33 Just as well. But I I just wanted 17:38 to show you something. 17:42 [Music] 17:45 So, 17:47 so I went into midjourney 17:50 and 17:54 the new value is create excellence 17:58 and I went into midJourney and I put in 18:01 our AI salon mood board and I wanted to 18:05 create 18:09 a values image for create excellence. 18:13 And so like that's one I don't really 18:15 like the image and that doesn't look 18:17 like an excellent sign and it's not 18:18 spelled right. And then just 18:21 every single one 18:25 it just it can't spell it at all. That 18:29 that that one didn't even try. 18:32 Misspell typo typo typo typo. Uh 18:38 excellence sort of a little there. 18:42 create excellence. 18:44 So if you're going to have something 18:45 like create excellence, like at a 18:47 minimum, it should be spelled right, 18:49 even even in the janky world of AI, 18:52 right? 18:56 So then I just got pissed off because 18:58 I'm like, for one thing, MidJourney 19:00 should have their [ __ ] together with 19:01 with putting words on graphics. Um, 19:06 everyone else can do it. They should be 19:07 able to do that. What I did was I took 19:10 it over to uh Gemini 19:13 and and I just said um am I sharing my 19:18 screen? No, I'm not. Hang on. I went 19:20 over to Gemini and I uploaded the image 19:23 that didn't have any create excellence 19:25 on it. I said aspect ratio 16 by9. Add 19:29 the words create excellence in the same 19:31 style and it created this. But it's a 19:35 little too clean and it's got clean 19:36 edges. And so I said, 19:40 "Give me 19:42 rougher edges and like, you know, 19:45 distress the text a little bit." So, I 19:47 just thought I would share that, you 19:51 know, part of the chain of craft, part 19:53 of the chain of intent of getting some 19:56 decent work out of these models might 19:58 include just recognizing, 20:02 you know, I can start in midjourney for 20:03 the basic look and feel of the brand and 20:06 then I can jump over to Gemini and fix 20:10 some [ __ ] or I could have gone over to 20:13 probably could have gone to OpenAI that 20:15 probably would would have Okay. But I 20:17 can't get 16 by9 out of that. Probably 20:19 could have gone to ideoggram, right? Or 20:22 idoggram, however they say that. Um, so 20:24 I thought that was kind of fun. All 20:27 right.
