3. 0:57uh where was I spoke at the AI I Peaks conference today did a little keynote action there that was cool and then uh
4. 1:06had a little emergency running around to do did that and then I went back had a beer with the AIP Peaks
5. 1:14folks and then I said I gotta leave cuz I got to go to Tik Tock live I got I people are waiting for me are you selling legendary marketer or
6. 1:27Master resale rights not yet but we are going to start a pyramid scheme in here if it we're going to do it we're going
7. 1:35to do it we're going to absolutely destroy people's lives in here somewhere between a cult and a pyramid scheme the
8. 1:41AI learning lab we're it's we've we've got our aspirations we know our North Star we know what we want to do we want
9. 1:47to take people out fantastic Bob tell him what he's won you can make money honest to God if we started
10. 1:57selling golden buttons in here split the the profits telling you we could do this thing we could do it no all right I guess we'll just keep
11. 2:08doing infotainment then that that cool look at this cool lunchbox thing from Ted Ted looks at life did that last night he did a whole
12. 2:20bunch of images he did a whole bunch of these things there's the the AI learning lab varsity jacket that's cute ice cream truck the
13. 2:31beer with the robot hand who doesn't hang their shirts inside the dryer with a hanger I do turtles playing
14. 2:44poker yeah baby we got it going on in here so all right let's see what are we doing um welcome everybody got a lot of
15. 2:54folks here happy Saturday night my name is Kyle shanon this is the AI learning lab what we do here you you're like kle
16. 3:01doesn't look like a lab where's your white coat you're a scientist right please tell me you're a scientist no no
17. 3:09no I'm trying to think if I've ever played a scientist I don't think I have but uh we talk about AI stuff we have fun that's kind of one of
18. 3:21the prerequisites here it's like be curious be adventurous have a sense of humor be smart be smart ass bitter you
19. 3:32betcha um and and that's what we kind of do if you ask questions in the comments below I'll answer them I'll walk you
20. 3:38through where to get started with this AI stuff if you're like but Kyle I don't know where to start you know I'm not
21. 3:43very technical but I hear this AI stuff is going to be if you're like that we got you covered we'll get you handled we
22. 3:54will see look oh that was here was charts and graphs from my little talk today here's a fun one I I'll I'll show this
23. 4:05one I got to do this in a window hang on in window play so this was from the the talk that I gave but hours ago so I was talking about
24. 4:22how back in February trying to think where this is going to play right yeah right there back in February
25. 4:34um I did this synthesized voice thing of someone telling their health care story and I put it in my story Vine software
26. 4:44and then last month this [ __ ] showed up and so this was the slide that I did so the the left half is Italy the right
27. 4:51half is China so I did this so we've heard from a number of clients that modular content is important to them
28. 4:58getting more efficient with how we create content and how we leverage content uh behind me you see these little green boxes um that's how we
29. 5:12think about stories at Story vine we break stories down into little atoms right little
30. 5:27modules so I stop it right there and I'm like okay so that was cool but I didn't know I also spoke [Music]
31. 5:58Mandarin story V and then I followed that up with this but is it real is this actually good Chinese is Kyle talking Mandarin
32. 6:09using Ai and what he wanted to know is what does a native speaker think let's find out that was Kyle yeah King is really
33. 6:22good he talking about AI some story something yeah yeah okay well it was AI yeah it was AI it was AI it was AI yeah
34. 6:30it wasn't him oh he's AI yeah interesting isn't it see Kyle he didn't even realize so that was that was part of my
35. 6:41part of my presentation but anyway while I got while I got keynote open here why don't we flip over to isn't that a cool image that's a

42. 7:57tonight from three different people who go Google has a uh a campus in Boulder so the the event that I spoke at is in
43. 8:06Boulder and I talked to three different people tonight who have played with Gemini and they said it's really flipp
44. 8:14and remarkable so that's that's going to be coming out within sometime in October so b.google.r I still don't believe
45. 8:27them but even if it's a good as chat gbt 4 it's going to be good so those are your top four this is the kids table so
46. 8:35these are the next ones down um piie is really good at conversational chat gping um I'm already starting to use
47. 8:44chat GPT like zerox like even though that's someone's technology these are all chat GPT to me there's different flavors of
48. 8:51it which you know Sam Alman Sam Sam you know he's already jealous of me so uh so if I disparage his company too much here
49. 9:00we got to be careful but it's all right um labs. perplexity really interesting U and then po.com uh decent worth worth looking at worth
50. 9:14exploring um these are the image generation tools so Dolly 3 is the new um kit on the block that's really good um until something else
51. 9:25unseed it I'm feeling so irregular tonight I know I'm a little well I'm just a little tired cuz I've been I've
52. 9:32been on all day you know when you have a speaking Gig if you do if you do speaking gigs you you get amped up for it and then being an
53. 9:40ADHD um I finished the presentation this morning at 10:00 a.m. and then drove to Boulder checked my tech setup and then
54. 9:48sat around for two hours letting my adrenaline drain and then ramped it back up for the talk so I'm a little crispy but but yeah
55. 9:59yeah I'm a little irregular too anyway these are the things the the uh the the image Generation stuff that I think are
56. 10:06worth paying attention to so screenshot that and then um here's another one uh someone Bradley Bradley from the AI
57. 10:14Salon gave me a good idea tonight is to uh just do like a just put these all on a on a link tree I should really just do that but
58. 10:25whatever uh go ahead and screenshot this these are your your video your video tools the the um translations that I
59. 10:33just showed in that other in that other Deck with the the Italian and and the Mandarin Chinese that's he Jen that's
60. 10:40second one on this list and then here are people that you should pay attention to uh as well as a couple of directory
61. 10:48sites so these two sites are directories of AI tools and then Ethan mullik David Shapiro and Paul rer all Wicked smart
62. 10:56Wicked worth following and then finally the AI Salon the thing in the middle there that's uh the community that I
63. 11:03started last December if you're curious about AI I want to join a bunch of other Irregulars that are that are weird about
64. 11:11this stuff go there join that we meet every other week um I think you know someone said yesterday Sherry I think
65. 11:22said that the um Discord link was expired let me see if it is the
66. 11:37salon. Discord Community looks like it's okay for me but it might be because I'm already a member of the community I don't know
67. 11:48which I AI app could fill in a map for me if I upload a map um you could prob probably do that with mid Journey with with just kind of
68. 12:02uploading an image as a source and then and then describing how you want it filled
69. 12:17in I don't know that might it depends how you want it filled in like do you want it turned into art do you want it
70. 12:24filled in with like you know the bumper crop of each stti you know like one of those old agriculture Maps might be that might be
71. 12:33something worth worth going and exploring let's go let's go US map State outlines see if we can get a yeah there we
72. 12:47go imagees all right perfect that's perfect look at that we got one we're going to save image as so I'll show you how to do this in
73. 13:00mid Journey if you don't know mid Journey it's a bit of a pain in ass cuz it's uh the US um because you have to do
74. 13:08it in Discord but whatever you can you can learn get curious you can learn so what we're going to do is I'm going to
75. 13:15go into the AI Salon which is where we are here so this is Discord if you haven't seen Discord before these are
76. 13:22all different communities every little circle over here is a different Community this is the AI Salon that I
77. 13:26just talked about and then here's the discussions within the AI salon and down in here somewhere uh where is it there it is is
78. 13:37mid Journey play so it's a mid Journey channel so we can go make stuff so people are in here making stuff oh someone used uh the describe
79. 13:47function which is cool Claire's in here making cool art she's been killing it she's been making really cool art in here look at some of this
80. 13:56stuff beautiful all right so what we're going to do the the way this works generally is if you want to
81. 14:03make something wow there was a lot there that I hadn't seen woo there's a lot going on people nice all right so to make an image you
82. 14:15type slash imagine and then you fill in a prompt right so that's that's generally how this stuff works and but but we're not going to do
83. 14:26that right now because we want to use this image as a source so what we're going to do is this we are going
84. 14:33to no that's not right we're going to upload that state image that we just grabbed off the web upload a file all right so there's our little
85. 14:49Mappy map and we're going to hit return and you're like Kyle this seems like a convoluted process well yes so now I'm
86. 14:59going to rightclick or if you're on a Mac control click the map and we're going to copy the link to this image well apparently we're
87. 15:13not come on ah all right discord's being a poop head so we're GNA there's another way to do this we'll go open this in a browser
88. 15:23we'll go copy the URL from there oh it looks like their servers are down is Discord down what's happening
89. 15:34people they're being hacked they're being hacked discord's being hacked go tell everyone run run is the site really laggy am I late I

94. 16:34saying like Kyle that's not good English listen some people have a way with words other people not have way I guess you'd say uh
95. 16:45old Steve Martin joke classic and then we'll see what it does now is is there a chance that I really don't know what I'm doing and I'm going
96. 16:56to screw this up and have horrible results absolutely um if this is something you want to do here's a way to
97. 17:03do it um look it's filling [ __ ] in and if you've never seen mid Journey before the fact that it starts out as these
98. 17:09blurry images and then is getting a little bit more detailed each time that's a normal thing it's part of the
99. 17:16diffusion model it's sort of den noising the image as it goes it looks like we've got Shadow for animals in there it'll be interesting if
100. 17:24it actually puts details on oh it looks like it's doing it boom there we go look at that we filled in the states
101. 17:37um I kind of like this chalk boardy one that's kind of cool isn't it so so now let me show you something here so when
102. 17:45you do a thing in mid Journey you have these these four U one through four and then V one through four what's that
103. 17:53stand for Kyle oh don't you wish I'd tell you yeah actually we do could could you just tell us and stop stop being such a smart smart
104. 18:04alec I could jeez getting a little testy over there aren't you you know uh so U stands for upscale v stands for
105. 18:14variation so if you if if this is looking decent but you're like it's not quite right you can just hit V like V4
106. 18:21and it's 1 2 34 so I'm going to hit V4 and then I'm going to hit uh let's just upscale one and we'll hit V3 as
107. 18:31well cuz that one's kind of cool so now we're going to have one that's bigger and we're going to have four more of each of the bottom
108. 18:43two isn't this wild how this gets this like glowing shape around it and then as it refines it that kind of goes away it's
109. 18:50fascinating fascinating how this stuff works people you know what I mean you know what I mean you know do you know

115. 19:45three messages from people on the Tik Tok channel that are like I haven't slept I didn't sleep last night CU I got
116. 19:51access to Dolly 3 it's really [ __ ] funny um oh these are are kind of cool I like the one on the bottom left I like
117. 20:00the one on the top right so oh that was the one we had before oh yeah there's that one that's nice this one's a little better doesn't
118. 20:12have all the millipede kind of animals on it although what's the Pennsylvania state animal is that some some sort of rock sculpture of a
119. 20:20[Laughter] fish anyway that's that's a way to do that there's probably 462 ways that you can fill in a map um the question then becomes how
120. 20:37predictable do you want it to be if you want it to be really predictable AI is probably not your choice maybe with DOI
121. 20:44you could do something but I don't think there's a a good way to upload an image a source image for do right now um it's
122. 20:52better at prompt coherence like you could tell it's specific things to put in the States but doing the this
123. 20:58predictably I'd say just go grab clip art of whatever you want filled in the states and do it that way so anyway all
124. 21:05right from here it looks like the N Nevada llama it does well this is the Nevada Lama that must have been the
125. 21:10other image cuz that's a a pine tree [Music] there uh anything else I want to show yeah there's all sorts of cool [ __ ]
126. 21:25you can do after you upscale stuff you can zoom out you can pan left and right you can do all sorts of cool stuff anyway okay

144. 24:13in it here's the deal with the presentation Builders November 1st is the launch of Microsoft co-pilot for Office
145. 24:25365 so autoc creating presentations within PowerPoint is about to be a reality I wouldn't spend a ton of time
146. 24:35or any money on any of these third party things right now until that comes out and we see if it's any good if it's what I suspect it will be
147. 24:46which is good then I'd just go in PowerPoint and pay your 30 bucks a month to to have access to you know Auto
148. 24:56powerpointing um because you can go like like what's going to happen with co-pilot is you'll be able to be in a
149. 25:01Word document and say turn this annual report into a PowerPoint presentation and it'll just do it and generate the
150. 25:07images and all that and it's going to have Dolly 3 embedded in it it's going to be slickered and [ __ ] now is it
151. 25:13possible that they hose it and and release a horrible piece of software sure I mean the the Google um B
152. 25:24integration into their office product right Now sucks ass it's horrible it's not it's not even worth talking about
153. 25:31but I think the Microsoft one's going to be good but you know that's just me being an optimist I'm forever an
154. 25:38optimist if you know what I mean except for when everyone else is wrong then they should just suffer
155. 25:48um yeah so that's that so I don't know I don't know that world well here's the other thing um chat gp4 or any of the
156. 25:56large language models but particular particularly chat gp4 um tell it the topic give it a lot of context here's what I want to write a
157. 26:05presentation on here's the audience here's the this here's the that here's the tone give me an outline for a
158. 26:12presentation and tell it if you want a 15 slide presentation or a 20 slide presentation or a three slide
159. 26:17presentation give it the context and then if you do it in GPT 4 you're in control you're writing the prompt the problem with to and any tool
160. 26:29like toome is that some someone some engineer somewhere in a company wrote The Prompt for that presentation
161. 26:38generating tool and what I found is that while it generates a presentation It generally doesn't generate a presentation the way I want
162. 26:50it and so because it's generated all the pictures and the this and the that the the editing of the imperfect pre
163. 26:57presentation becomes longer than just if you'd have written it by scratch written it from scratch written it by scratch
164. 27:04I'm listen people it's Saturday night and my brain's a little fried okay stop picking on me I'm Harry carry um I may have
165. 27:17mess oh I may have messed with your animal Maps good play with my play with the animal maps go do what you need to do I love
166. 27:26it oh yeah look at that oh that's super cool polar Android oh those are cool I like it oh those are really cool huh yeah check these things
167. 27:41out he uploaded that map and then did some sort of 3D brass Brass Bull Turtle llama thing and it's got the map embedded in it that's
168. 27:53pretty slick I like it I like it I prove but look at the hair tonight I got some that's some serious puff action going

170. 28:19went really well it went really well I had to run out of there cuz there was kind of a family emergency thing
171. 28:25everything's fine but I had to R out of there so I didn't get to talk to a ton of people but then I went back to to
172. 28:31hang out with them later and people seemed really pleased with it I was pleased with it I think they recorded it
173. 28:36but I don't know um but I talked about um the early days of the web and how that compares to what's going on with
174. 28:45now like what's been my journey through you know discovering this stuff and then I showed um some of the things like the
175. 28:54image generation and I and I talked about um my um the idea that that I that hit me that the 10,000 hour rule is dead that
176. 29:06you no longer need to take three or four years to master a new skill you can just get up to speed in like a month or two
177. 29:14and see if you like it or not and then if you want to dig deeper then you can spend it three years but you don't have
178. 29:19to like go back to school to get a new skill because of because of AI so I talked about that and then I you know
179. 29:25what I did I basically did what I do on the lives here um and I did it live in the presentation so so I said I said um
180. 29:35I I said the 10,000 hour rule thing that that you can just learn about [ __ ] you know nothing about so I said to the
181. 29:41audience you know who's got some obscure topic I should know nothing about or or has a business that's you know really
182. 29:48really specific and someone said like waste uh like like food waste optimization or something like that like it was just some obscure
183. 29:57obscure thing and so I I had it on chat GPT 3.5 so it'd be really fast and so I said okay explain what this is to me and
184. 30:07then oh wait user Pi is great for convo but lies in order to please you and agrees with factually wrong stuff I say
185. 30:14yeah Pi P right now is is a bit of a kiss ass I agree with that so anyway so I I asked it you know what this thing
186. 30:23was and it gave me 12 different categories within that sector and then I picked one and I said oh this is good
187. 30:29explain this to me and it explained it and I said okay I want to turn that into um a company and it came up with a
188. 30:36company name and then a tagline and then I had it write a creative brief for a logo and then we flipped over to Del and
189. 30:44I pasted in the creative brief that it generated and I said make me a logo and it made a logo and there there are a
190. 30:50number of people in the audience having Kevin McAllister moments like I saw I saw four or five people that were like
191. 30:58like physically you know not metaphorically like so that was cool that was cool and then I showed him chatty GPT right so I showed him the
192. 31:10um the the chat GPT version of Pi right this this dude tell me about sourcing extra food from restaurants
193. 31:31of course sourcing extra food from restaurants refers to the practice so I did that so there what was cool was because it was in
194. 31:43Boulder there was one person in the audience who hadn't used chat gbt it was a very educated audience and so I
195. 31:49thought oh [ __ ] this this talk is like it it's it's really designed for people who you know haven't really played with
196. 31:57this this that much and I had I had I had two different guys come up to me afterwards like I've been in I've been
197. 32:04in this business for 30 years like you showed me some stuff I haven't seen before I was like yes it was it was a tough crowd three
198. 32:13years ago I felt obsolete in my old industry now I feel like I'm starting to lap others that's it Source Camp that's
199. 32:22it everyone everyone everyone on this channel right now share share this live if you haven't done it let's get some
200. 32:28more people in here everyone who's willing to be a little weird right now like for the next 12 months you're going to be a [ __ ]

206. 33:22people in this channel is they're going [ __ ] it and and they're playing with AI and they're talking about it and then
207. 33:28people in their companies are recognizing that they leaders in figuring this [ __ ] out and as the company tips from we'll never
208. 33:38[ __ ] use it to well I guess it's okay for some people to huh that's interesting to uh [ __ ] does anybody know
209. 33:46how to do this cuz they're all doing that they're all doing that right now we'll never use it oh maybe okay oh my God we need to use
210. 33:59it you'll be there Kyle you said AI fact Checkers were dead faulty but if edu still use them isn't it legitimization it's
211. 34:14legitimization of a flawed assumption so here's the here's the flawed assumption tonius so what you got to go out
212. 34:27what What's your deal why are you whining you don't normally whine this early did nobody let you out you got to
213. 34:33go pee peee no all right let me just do the I'll make the point on the education stuff for tonius so so in the education
214. 34:42stuff the problem with fact Checkers that the you know the the the chat GPT um um detectors is they they're wrong a lot
215. 34:58they they are biased against non-native English-speaking people like like they they um ding them more um and it it's just not good um so
216. 35:10so they just don't work but but here's the real flawed assumption what they kind of assume is that writing with AI
217. 35:17is something that you do 100% off to the side right like like they they kind of assume doing your schoolwork the old
218. 35:26fashioned way is good and then asking a robot to do your homework is cheating that's not how people use large
219. 35:36language models for the most part for the most part they don't just say write me a term paper on gingas con what you
220. 35:43do is you're like okay I want to write a turn paper on gas Kong let me do a little research over here on chat GPT
221. 35:48okay let me go Google that let me copy and paste some of that [ __ ] into a word dock okay let me go do this let me go do
222. 35:54right it's it's it's a much more sophisticated interaction if if you've used this it's not a [ __ ] Google
223. 36:02search and so the universities that are still blocking this [ __ ] or like oh it's just cheating they just put in one
224. 36:08prompt and get out of paper no it's not how it works so when when chat GPT gets rolled into Office 365 when it's inside Microsoft
225. 36:20Word you know the the these these like chat GPT Checkers from my from where I sit are the equivalent of saying we've
226. 36:28got a technology that can tell if you used a grammar corrector or not please take champy I know I got to go champ

237. 39:33anyone here that's interested in the educational stuff follow Ethan mullik he's written a really powerful piece on
238. 39:40on these chat GPT detectors and why they don't work why you shouldn't use them what you should do instead he's really
239. 39:47articulate on it he's written pieces on it it sounds like there's a YouTube series on it follow that the fact that
240. 39:54the fact that schools right now now I spoke at a school a month ago that they they they weren't using chat
241. 40:03GPT detectors they weren't talking about AI at all they invited me to come speak on AI for their public policy
242. 40:15school and they're not using AI at all they're not talking about it I'm like that's [ __ ] irresponsible

530. 1:28:54the engineering 3D applications are the really complicated ones um I promise you all of those companies
531. 1:29:04are probably developing AI front ends right now right text to full-on engineering drawings that is not that
