Description

This livestream from the AI Learning Lab, hosted by Kyle Shannon, covers a variety of topics related to artificial intelligence. Shannon discusses new AI tools and advancements, including Luma Labs' Ray 2 model, Microsoft's MatterGen, and advancements at OpenAI hinted at by researcher Jason Wei. He showcases a music video created with AI-generated visuals and lyrics from his musical, "Sydney," and demonstrates the real-time 3D image manipulation capabilities of Krea.ai. He also promotes his upcoming AI readiness training course, available at areyoureadyforai.com. Shannon emphasizes the importance of community in navigating the rapidly changing AI landscape, encouraging viewers to join groups like the AI Salon. He reflects on the transformative potential of AI, comparing the current moment to the eve of the Apollo launch. 5:43 app Vicky Baptist is in and out she's
5:46 working on a website she'll be back
5:50 in if you're new here my name is Kyle
5:53 Shannon this is the AI learning lab
5:55 we've got some folks on the Tik Tock we
5:58 got some folks on the
6:00 what is this the uh on the uh the
6:04 Youtube We got some some people on the
6:06 LinkedIn we got some other people on the
6:09 uh what do they call that the X you know
6:13 it's funny I you
6:17 know some people are going to tell me
6:19 well this is this is obvious and
6:21 everybody knows it they used to call the
6:25 X the
6:27 Twitter and you used to tweet over there
6:30 you didn't post you
6:32 tweeted you know the other thing you did
6:34 you did hashtags they taught us for 20
6:37 years you got to use your hashtags you
6:39 gotta use your
6:40 hashtags and then one day Elon Musk is
6:43 like yeah I don't like hashtags I don't
6:45 like how they look don't do that anymore
6:47 so now because I'm old fat and
6:52 cognitively
6:54 challenged I still put hashtags and [ __ ]
6:57 because I'm like well it can't hurt it
6:58 hurts it hurts no one sees my
7:04 [ __ ] so don't use hashtags all you
7:07 people that think it's still called
7:09 Twitter [ __ ]
7:12 weirdos you got to get with the new
7:15 times I think that's what this Channel's
7:17 about getting with the new
7:19 [Music]
7:22 times we don't use hashtags on Twitter
7:25 anymore Lori K I know no we don't I got
7:28 I got reprimanded to today from from the
7:31 woman that heads up the uh the Luma Labs
7:34 Creator program I'm like nobody's seeing
7:37 the cool video I put out and she's like
7:38 you used hashtags you big dumb
7:43 dummy that I thought that was a little
7:45 much I didn't think she needed to call
7:46 me
7:49 names but she's
7:52 right I'm
7:55 rotund and I'm a bit of a dummy she's
7:58 not wrong this is why it hurts you
8:03 understand all
8:05 [Music]
8:15 right you can't see tone and
8:18 text she didn't call me a big dumb
8:21 [Music]
8:22 dummy old fat and cognitively challenged
8:26 it's gonna be my next b band name
8:28 exactly like like there's no like
8:33 like why try to deny it we're old people
8:36 if you're a gen
8:38 xer it's
8:40 it's it's getting to be time it's
8:42 getting to be time if you're afraid of
8:45 doing [ __ ] it's time to knock that [ __ ]
8:50 off I didn't go to school I don't have
8:52 an education I didn't
8:55 buy you gotta knock that [ __ ] off and
9:00 get AI curious AI
9:02 [Music]
9:04 adventurous it will free you it will set
9:06 you free my brethren
9:10 Hallelujah the S shooting TI does it
9:14 work at the D
9:16 Queen does it listen to rock and roll
9:20 does it feed the me singing
9:24 Hallelujah
9:26 Hallelujah Hallelujah
9:33 huah what about
9:35 Jesus didn't he tune his guitar
9:39 [Laughter]
9:41 [Music]
9:51 [Music]
9:55 occasionally what about Jesus didn't he
9:58 do it too
10:00 yeah hang out with the prostitutes have
10:04 a drink or
10:05 two power of example my mom said it and
10:09 I heard she said one o action beats a
10:12 ton of
10:13 words singing
10:16 Hallelujah mama said there would be
10:18 Angels
10:21 Hallelujah mama said that would be son
10:24 yeah um okay so so here's the closest I
10:29 get to religion
10:31 [Music]
10:33 um if you're telling yourself stories
10:36 like you're not good enough you're not
10:37 smart enough you're not talented enough
10:39 you're not skilled enough knock that
10:42 [ __ ]
10:46 off you know what's
10:48 [Music]
10:53 funny I think it was I think it was
10:55 David Shapiro oh by the way David
10:56 Shapiro unblocked me so I I assume that
10:59 someone on this channel said something
11:02 to him he didn't say anything to me I
11:03 just was not blocked I was blocked for
11:05 two days and now I'm unblocked so if any
11:07 of you did that thank you and if any of
11:10 you didn't and he just unblocked me
11:12 because he realized oh my goodness this
11:14 is a supporter I've
11:16 [Music]
11:23 blocked um someone posted today on X
11:28 that um
11:32 like what they were really upset about
11:34 with AI getting smarter was that AI was
11:36 going to be smarter than them and and
11:38 that that felt like it it it made them
11:40 feel less than and I think I think this
11:43 is something we're going to all have to
11:44 confront I sort of went through mine
11:46 with when 01 preview came out I realized
11:50 that it I didn't know how to ask it to
11:53 do
11:53 [Laughter]
11:56 [ __ ] um I think David set up an auto
11:59 responder bot on X oh that's
12:01 interesting
12:03 um oh wait okay smash that like button
12:07 oh you know what Vicky you keep doing
12:10 this thing and I keep forgetting to put
12:12 it up here on screen so yes thank you
12:15 for doing that and then I will try to
12:19 look over here and do it anyway this guy
12:22 was basically talking about you
12:24 know what do we do when the machines are
12:27 smarter than us and and Shapiro were
12:29 response to it and i' I've seen him
12:31 write this before but I think it's the
12:33 first time it really registered with me
12:36 is in the Industrial Age we replaced our
12:40 muscles and our horses muscles with
12:44 machines and those machines got
12:46 significantly stronger than we did
12:49 right we've got tractors and you know
12:53 dump trucks that can haul you
12:56 know hundreds thousands of tons
13:00 and can lift crazy amounts of things
13:02 we've got cranes and we've got you know
13:04 all this
13:06 stuff and yeah there are some places
13:08 where muscles are
13:10 good but we also have machines that that
13:12 are significantly better than we are and
13:15 and that was a reckoning right there we
13:17 we went through that process of of that
13:20 transition but it's so far in the past
13:23 now that it's like yeah yeah we have
13:25 machines well AI is that for your brain
13:32 like how cool is it that we have the
13:35 cognitive equivalent of a back ho that
13:39 can just [ __ ] reach out into the
13:41 knowledge
13:44 base you know scrape up a bunch of
13:46 knowledge and drop it in a pile on your
13:51 lap so if you've got in your head this
13:55 idea that you're not enough you're not
13:56 smart enough you're not educated enough
13:58 you're not talented [ __ ] it [ __ ]
14:01 that lean into this stuff and lean into
14:05 it
14:06 like what if I could do anything and
14:10 especially if you're like my
14:12 age 59 I'll be 60 in May 60 [ __ ]
14:17 years old you think that sounds
14:23 fun I mean I'm glad to be here
14:30 [Music]
14:36 um so so that's that so first thing is
14:42 if you're new here and you're and you're
14:43 kind of on the sidelines with AI this is
14:45 the this is the wrong time to be a
14:48 skeptic this is the wrong time to let
14:51 fear lead
14:52 you right now there's a couple of things
14:56 I think are critical one is
14:58 community I think you need to get your
15:00 ass in a community with people that
15:02 are Ai optimists and AI adventurers
15:06 that's one there's lot there's a handful
15:08 of them out there that I think are good
15:11 I think I'm I'm biased I think the salon
15:14 is one of the best if you go to the the
15:17 salon. A and click on the button that
15:19 says join our
15:20 community you go in there and there's a
15:23 bunch of people in
15:25 there that are really smart and really
15:28 good at this say I
15:31 stuff and they're also
15:33 humble and generous and
15:39 empathetic and they're starting to do
15:41 some really remarkable
15:46 things so go do that go join that
15:50 doesn't cost
15:53 anything all right so
16:00 we're like ants milking an AI
16:05 aphid we are we are it's exactly what
16:09 it's like it's exactly what it's
16:13 like they're also some folks like me
16:16 that do two things yeah and there's
16:18 going to be some folks that like you
16:20 that do 10 Things I mean I am right now
16:24 you know I'm running storyvine I'm
16:27 running the AI Salon I do these Tik Tok
16:29 channels I'm in the middle of writing a
16:31 musical in between that I take [ __ ] that
16:35 I do in here and I turn it into little
16:37 sub project side
16:44 projects I'm Chief generative officer of
16:47 content Evolution we're putting together
16:51 offerings
16:52 and I've written two books in the past
16:56 six
16:57 months it's like
17:01 now I'm a particular kind of guy like
17:04 when I put my mind to something I'm just
17:05 like [ __ ] it we're
17:08 going so if you've got some of that
17:11 drive in you if you've got some of that
17:13 Adventure in you Now's the Time to do
17:19 it there's I want to I wanted to do
17:21 something
17:25 tonight plus champy has to be
17:27 entertained by your musical ability yeah
17:31 yeah I exist on this planet to entertain
17:35 dogs how do you keep the YouTube chat on
17:38 your screen Kyle don't want to derail I
17:42 don't
17:43 know I think there's a in the right hand
17:48 side somewhere down there is a thing
17:51 that that gives you the panel if anyone
17:54 knows how to do that uh pop that up on
17:56 screen for for Corey
18:02 um all right I W to I want to I want I
18:06 want to do something together because I
18:07 was thinking about this
18:09 earlier
18:14 and and I didn't know the answer to it
18:17 and then of course my
18:20 new mode kicked in don't use your brain
18:24 don't think about it you have you have
18:26 something for that
18:31 all right so here's what we're going to
18:37 do what is the
18:42 opposite
18:44 of
18:47 the I'll just put I'll just I don't even
18:49 need to call it
18:54 rearranging the deck
18:57 chairs on the ti
19:01 Titanic
19:03 where we are all keeping
19:09 busy
19:11 waiting for something really good to
19:16 happen and I know with all the shitty
19:19 stuff going on in the world it doesn't
19:20 feel like this right now
19:23 but setting the table for the feast okay
19:26 that's boring is there no wait hang
19:30 on is there
19:34 no
19:36 equivalent
19:39 saying three question
19:43 marks there does not seem to be a
19:45 recognized saying that captures the
19:47 opposite of rearranging the deck chairs
19:49 on the Titanic we are a [ __ ]
19:51 depressing bunch of
19:53 animals
19:56 really we've had since what wait when
19:59 was the Titanic when did it sink 1923
20:02 when did
20:04 it it
20:11 sink 1912 we've had since
20:15 1912 to have some other event happen
20:17 that was so
20:19 good so
20:22 profound that we compare it to the
20:24 rearranging the deck chairs on the
20:25 Titanic no we're just we're just a
20:28 fatalistic depressing bunch of anxiety
20:32 ridden
20:34 freaks all
20:39 right
20:43 seriously we're just sitting around
20:45 making music videos until open AI drops
20:49 AGI is that that's the saying we're it
20:52 now we have to come up with the saying
20:54 more than a hundred years
20:56 later guilty we are
21:04 try letting 01 have a go all right let's
21:07 let's
21:08 do um I'll I'll do this with this
21:13 thing I want you to think long and deep
21:16 and I want you to dig into your recesses
21:21 of any events and any news articles and
21:27 any popular
21:29 social media or television
21:33 or anything like that where there could
21:36 have been a
21:39 saying based on some good thing that was
21:44 pending where people are just keeping
21:46 busy please find me
21:50 something all
21:53 right guilty
22:03 [Music]
22:16 below you'll find a few real world world
22:19 pop culture moments where people
22:21 collectively kept busy anticipation of
22:23 better
22:24 outcomes pandemic pandemic quarantine
22:27 Hobbies that's interesting
22:29 [Laughter]
22:31 I'll keep knitting we're sitting around
22:34 knitting sweaters until we can leave the
22:35 house that's a pretty good
22:42 one I like that
22:47 one stress baking during the election
22:50 all right I like
22:53 that treading water during the Hollywood
22:56 writers strike so this is all it's
22:58 interesting these are all waiting for
23:00 catastrophes to end quasi productive
23:05 escapism and economic downturns okay
23:08 yeah well there's no single
23:12 catchphrase it's instantly recognized as
23:15 feudal gesture before the disaster the
23:18 opposite we're keeping busy while
23:20 awaiting something good tends to be more
23:22 diffuse and less
23:24 pointed so it doesn't lock down as a
23:26 single iconic phrase
23:32 let me see and what does this say about
23:36 people that we've had more than a
23:39 hundred
23:43 years to find some
23:47 hope in this insane world we live in and
23:51 yet we
23:56 haven't this is more interesting than I
23:58 thought it was would be I can't believe
24:00 there's not a saying I thought well I'm
24:02 just a dumb Dum that I can't negativity
24:05 bias psychologically humans are wired to
24:08 notice and remember negative events
24:10 right that's our fight or flight that's
24:12 our modern anxiety we think we're being
24:14 chased by tigers and it's just that
24:16 David Shapiro blocked us and we're like
24:18 oh my God I'm gonna
24:21 [Laughter]
24:26 die oh
24:30 not sure we want to call this period
24:31 quarantine
24:33 Hobbies but it sounds like it might just
24:36 sitting around knitting sweaters until I
24:38 can leave the
24:40 house drama captures attention all right
24:43 Shand for complex situations polishing
24:47 brass on a sinking ship fiddling while
24:48 Rome Burns context is key people AR wait
24:52 oh when people are collectively hopeful
24:55 say waiting for vaccines during a
24:57 pandemic or expecting an economic upturn
25:00 there's usually a multitude of small
25:03 private actions rather than one
25:05 cataclysmic or iconic event
25:09 fascinating well I think we're about to
25:13 experience the the opposite of the
25:16 Titanic now is there risk that it could
25:19 be bad too yeah there is
25:23 but
25:25 um let's do open AI
25:29 researcher there is a
25:33 lot
25:35 oops there is a lot of chatter on the
25:38 old Twitter right
25:40 now oh we're gonna we're gonna go play
25:42 with that thing too that thing's really
25:44 cool and it's it was not easy to figure
25:46 out so I'm gonna give you a [ __ ] gift
25:50 tonight boy and girl Brandon
25:57 tid he's up on the
26:00 Twitter oh wait did I search for
26:02 something I didn't Jesus [ __ ]
26:11 add okay so the open AI researcher GW GW
26:17 RN just drop the latest essay on open Ai
26:21 0304 and
26:23 05 okay okay
26:27 okay open AI may have chosen to keep its
26:31 01 pro model private using its
26:34 computational resources to train a more
26:37 advanced model like 03 so basically they
26:40 used 01 Pro to create synthetic data to
26:43 create a more powerful version and
26:45 that's 03 and that's the thing that
26:47 we're we're probably going to get 03
26:51 mini any day now by the end of the
26:56 month open AI May believe believe they
26:59 have achieved a breakthrough in AI
27:01 development and are on the path to Super
27:05 intelligence so this is last year right
27:08 around this
27:09 time ilas sver took
27:13 off left open
27:15 Ai and this was you know back whatever
27:19 it was three months ago a year ago two
27:22 months
27:24 ago uh they tried to fire Sam
27:27 Alman and ilot was at the head of that
27:32 line and everyone said what did ilas see
27:36 and Ilia left and went and went and
27:38 started his own company called wait for
27:42 it you know this you know the answer
27:44 safe safe super
27:47 [Music]
27:50 intelligence so if they're now starting
27:53 to talk about whatever's going on there
27:55 it makes sense that their their head
27:57 researcher saw it a year
28:01 ago um the goal is develop to develop
28:04 superhuman AI uh there's also efficient
28:06 to run similar what was accomplished
28:08 with Alpha gozero inference time okay so
28:10 that's that's those are some of the
28:12 things there are some other posts here
28:14 all right here's David
28:17 Shapiro we're back in good graces I
28:19 think I can talk about what he said
28:24 here back in good graces he doesn't even
28:26 know who I am all right
28:30 when a top researcher at openai drops a
28:32 tweet like this all right so here's what
28:34 the Tweet
28:37 is let me make it bigger so you can see
28:40 over there on the Twitter you can see
28:41 that a little probably not but whatever
28:43 get glasses you old people you old
28:49 farts no somebody's birthday happy
28:52 birthday Firefly very
28:54 nice the tweet from Jason way Jason
29:01 is AI researcher at open aai I think he
29:04 might have been on one of the
29:06 videos magic is what happens when
29:10 Unstoppable RL optimization
29:13 algorithm powered by sufficient
29:16 sufficient
29:19 compute meets an unhackable RL
29:23 environment all right so you're like
29:26 wait Kyle what the [ __ ] does that mean
29:29 we don't need me to explain that we can
29:30 have David explain
29:33 it okay when a top researcher at open AI
29:37 drops a tweet like this you'd better
29:38 believe it's worth
29:40 unpacking Jason's got the inside track
29:42 on what's cooking in one of the world's
29:44 Premier AI Labs he's telling us
29:45 something fascinating here in pure nerd
29:49 speak so uh if pate's on here Pate is
29:52 going to absolutely yell at me because
29:54 this is all this is all chat TMZ
29:57 speculation let's let's break this down
29:59 for everyone who doesn't speak quantum
30:01 mechanics before breakfast that RL
30:03 optimization bit open AI cracked the
30:06 code on bootstrapping machine reasoning
30:10 think qar and strawberry those
30:12 strawberry was a code name for the thing
30:14 that's 01 qar was this sort of game
30:17 reasoning engine um think qar and
30:20 strawberry though that's practically
30:23 ancient history in AI time now they've
30:25 figured out how to make machines teach
30:28 them
30:29 elves and they're pushing that
30:31 capability to its absolute limits now
30:35 there's a part of you that's like well
30:37 that sounds [ __ ] terrifying and
30:39 there's there's sort of the Sci-Fi
30:41 version of this where it absolutely is
30:43 [ __ ] terrifying but they they the
30:45 unhackable part um now the unhackable RL
30:49 environment is where we have to read
30:51 between the lines we know that they're
30:52 using what what they called unaligned
30:55 models in this process before anyone
30:58 sites starts having Skynet nightmares
31:01 unaligned doesn't mean evil right this
31:04 is where some of the Sci-Fi stuff or
31:06 some of the doomers that they're sort of
31:09 assuming that these machines have evil
31:12 intent they don't it just means AI gets
31:15 to solve problems without training
31:16 wheels it's pure problem solving
31:19 potential Unleashed okay you can't just
31:22 let this kind of raw computational power
31:24 run in the wild they've got it wrapped
31:27 in layers of supervis visor models and
31:29 safety architectures this is something
31:31 that David knows a lot about it's this
31:33 is stuff he's built it's like having
31:35 your most brilliant but slightly
31:37 unhinged Engineers you know the type
31:40 working in a special lab where they
31:42 can't accidentally terrify the interns
31:44 or blow up the building okay so they've
31:46 got these little safe sandboxes where
31:49 they take unaligned Ai and just [ __ ]
31:52 turn it loose all that computational
31:55 horsepower is like a fusion reactor
31:57 waiting to light up you don't just FL
32:00 flip a switch and hope for the best you
32:02 build containment systems fail safes
32:04 monitoring but when you get everything
32:06 lined up just right and hit ignition
32:09 pure magic it's like watching those
32:12 Raptor engines Roar to life on the test
32:13 stand raw power perfectly controlled
32:16 ready to take us to the Stars this isn't
32:18 just another step forward this is open
32:20 AI telling us they've built something
32:24 extraordinary and this and they're just
32:26 getting started
32:29 I mean that's kind of some holy [ __ ] for
32:31 me you
32:34 know all right let's see what you all
32:36 saying here is
32:38 everybody hating
32:40 me maybe something related to waiting
32:42 for the moon landing yeah that's
32:44 actually not bad archetypal
32:47 architect
32:49 yeah yeah we're we're we're uh making
32:52 sandwiches at the P picnic waiting for
32:55 uh for man to walk on the moon or
32:57 something like that
32:59 raising the Titanic no no it doesn't it
33:04 won't float anymore um what's your
33:07 opinion on the purpose of life streamer
33:10 uh I don't know life
33:12 streamer Gary Marcus said that scaling
33:15 is dead I know G Gary Marcus can bite my
33:19 butt that [ __ ] I I just I can't even
33:23 imagine like having dinner with him much
33:25 less living with him he's so depressing
33:29 he's just built his brand around
33:30 [ __ ] all over
33:33 everything which you know maybe he's
33:35 trapped in that I don't know it's just
33:37 [ __ ]
33:39 depressing
33:44 um let me see there was one other one
33:46 and just good to remind people the
33:48 biggest
33:50 [Music]
33:58 doing more math puzzles lately out of
34:01 fear that they won't feel as satisfying
34:03 in the future there's another
34:08 one chess and go became more fun after
34:11 AI surpassed us see this is the thing
34:13 this is the thing when when big blue
34:17 beat Gary Casper off all the doomers all
34:21 the Gary Marcus's of the world were like
34:22 chess is over we'll never play chess
34:25 again we're not going to sit around
34:26 watching AI play Ai and guess what we
34:29 don't we don't sit around watching AI
34:32 play AI you know what we do we sit
34:34 around watching humans playing chess
34:38 because we now know how [ __ ] hard it
34:40 is it it like it ra it elevated the the
34:43 profile of the game and it gave us a
34:45 hunger for that authentic experience I
34:47 don't I think I think we're going to see
34:49 that in every single domain where AI you
34:53 know exceeds our capability there'll be
34:55 something that we do is the thing that
34:57 Ah that's what we really like that's the
34:58 essence of that thing and AI can go off
35:01 and do whatever the [ __ ] it
35:03 does but back to this
35:05 thing if you've got in your head I can't
35:08 do this I can't do that I'm not capable
35:10 enough I'm
35:14 not get curious about Ai and start
35:17 rearranging the deck chairs on the super
35:23 [Music]
35:24 yacht Drew's AI Creations Kyle FYI
35:27 upload a video or song MP4 to chat GPT
35:31 and it can tweak the visuals and audio
35:34 and send you back a polished version
35:36 sometimes it's pure magic Wow that's
35:38 kind of
35:39 cool polish the videos how like oh like
35:42 like change it from color to black and
35:43 white or or make it surreal oh that's
35:47 kind of cool yep I just came across it a
35:49 couple of days ago yeah I I mean so it's
35:52 that's using um that's using Code
35:55 interpreter right so it's writing a
35:57 python
35:58 it's probably got access to python
36:00 libraries it's probably got access to
36:02 like FFM Peg or something like that
36:04 where where it can just go manipulate
36:07 those files that's that's a cool idea
36:08 maybe I'll play with that that's super
36:11 cool um all right what's going on over
36:13 here in the Twitter anybody I feel
36:15 called out yeah listen Daisy May one of
36:19 the biggest things we did when we first
36:20 started the AI
36:24 Salon one of my
36:26 missions was
36:29 so the reason I started the AI Salon is
36:33 I was like okay chat
36:35 GPT
36:37 represents an interface for AI and
36:40 machine learning that doesn't require
36:42 you to be an engineer right it's AI for
36:45 the rest of
36:47 us
36:55 and when we and and so the AI and it's
36:58 like that's like
37:00 98.5% of people are not Engineers right
37:04 so it it is the vast majority of human
37:07 beings are not
37:08 programmers so while AI was all exciting
37:11 for all the years and specialized Ai and
37:13 vertical Ai and domain specific AI was
37:16 all all exciting chat jpt is the first
37:19 thing that kind of does for AI and
37:21 machine machine learning what the
37:23 worldwide web did for the internet you
37:25 could like click on it you could click
37:26 on hyperlinks and jump from server to
37:28 server that's what chat GPT is for AI
37:31 and machine learning you just put in
37:33 words and it does magical [ __ ] math
37:37 magical so when we first started the
37:42 salon to a person including myself what
37:46 I noticed was when people introduced
37:48 themselves or when they presented things
37:51 they
37:53 apologized oh well I'm just a I'm just a
37:57 you
37:58 I'm just a lowly storage guy you know
38:00 Jim Rosser you know you know I you know
38:03 I'm just I'm just this I'm just that
38:06 there was there was all these apologies
38:08 I'm not the smartest person in the
38:10 room and then that person would then
38:13 proceed to show the rest of us something
38:16 that blew our [ __ ]
38:18 minds not because what they did was so
38:22 remarkable but because what they did was
38:25 how they saw the world and how they used
38:28 Ai and we looked at it and said huh I
38:32 never would have thought about using it
38:34 that
38:36 way right I remember Corey Sandler's um
38:42 her custom GPT that made crazy glasses
38:45 frames we even talked at one point about
38:48 maybe we should start a a a a 3D printed
38:51 custom glasses company or something like
38:53 that right based on this gbt it was it
38:55 was a fun conversation for a bit
38:58 um don't [ __ ] apologize anymore don't
39:02 apologize don't apologize for not
39:03 knowing enough about
39:05 AI e even internally don't don't do
39:10 it just know that we are very very close
39:15 like very close to something happening
39:19 something
39:20 coming where the capability it's how
39:24 this is going to go is like this
39:30 open AI is going to unleash this thing
39:32 and then the open AI thing is going to
39:35 be remarkable and it's listen it's
39:37 probably going to be expensive it's
39:38 probably going to take three years for
39:39 it to turn real but whatever it's this
39:42 thing's coming but what's going to
39:43 happen is once they release it and other
39:46 researchers understand what they
39:49 did just like's happening with
39:51 everything else that they've built it's
39:53 going to be replicated very very quickly
39:56 so so this stuff's coming
39:58 really
40:01 quickly
40:08 um Ethan mullock's talking about
40:18 it we may get ASI before
40:24 gp5 so anyway all right
40:30 that's that so now I want to show you
40:33 something really
40:36 fun this is ASI
40:43 too all
40:46 [Music]
40:50 right all right
40:54 any before I do that
41:00 any any questions let me see let me see
41:03 what people are saying here all right
41:07 um I'm waiting for 03 to get access to
41:10 all the Deep Mind models oh that's
41:12 another thing I want to show you there's
41:13 there's a whole other thing that [ __ ]
41:15 came out today that you're like are you
41:16 [ __ ] kidding
41:17 me um and it's just gonna keep rolling
41:20 like that I'm waiting for three okay AI
41:23 used to study chess oh AI is used to
41:27 study chess yeah um did you see there
41:29 was I think it was in Africa
41:32 um have you been working on you and an's
41:35 classes mind setting it up uh no yes we
41:38 have in fact we had a meeting today um
41:41 Vicki's working on the curriculum she
41:42 gave us a sneak peak today it is so
41:45 [ __ ] cool it's so
41:47 good um what I'm most excited about so
41:50 if you don't know on the week between
41:52 Christmas and New Year's we did a thing
41:54 called AI festiv us AI for the rest of
41:57 us we had 34 speakers over 24 sessions
42:00 two days 12 hours each day because we
42:04 know how to good M make good life
42:06 choices and it was just a remarkable
42:08 event and a lot of people requested can
42:11 we turn this into a certification or a
42:13 training we're actually we we realized
42:16 that we can't just say certification
42:19 there are requirements for that but
42:21 Cindy [ __ ] is doing research for us
42:23 right now she she saw what what Vicki
42:27 produced today and she goes I I think
42:29 this qualifies let me do some research
42:31 so it might be a certification but even
42:33 if it's not a certification it's going
42:34 to be a training what I'm most excited
42:37 about with it is that it is independent
42:41 of tools there will be things that you
42:44 can do tool wise to you'll learn a lot
42:48 because a lot of tools were demonstrated
42:50 but it wasn't primarily what people
42:52 talked about and the curriculum that
42:54 we've put together is training for AI
42:57 Readiness and so let me pop into the
43:02 comments are you ready number4 ai.com so
43:09 if this sounds interesting to
43:11 you
43:14 um it's going to be um it's going to be
43:18 a paid course but it's going to be I
43:21 think quite reasonable it's going to be
43:24 I think we came to 297 it's going to be
43:27 just under
43:28 $300 um so if you go to are you ready
43:31 for ai.com
43:33 and let me move this closer you can
43:36 pre-register essentially that once we
43:39 have this we're targeting February 1 as
43:41 our launch
43:42 date um an and I have a lot of work to
43:45 do we have a lot of videos to make we
43:47 have a dozen videos to make at
43:50 least Vicky's got to figure out some LMS
43:54 stuff and some more curriculum stuff um
43:59 but it's it's very very
44:00 exciting um so we're targeting February
44:03 1st so go check that out
44:06 okay um thoughts on all this AI stuff
44:10 what's the URL again are
44:12 you ready so the letter r letter U ready
44:17 number four ai.com are you ready for
44:20 ai.com it's on screen here and on
44:23 YouTube congrats on the course hope it's
44:25 a success in Fe February thank you drew
44:28 Drew's AI Creations I hope you're
44:30 creating creating
44:32 [Music]
44:51 well um okay what's on my
44:54 list the opposite of the Titanic I can't
44:57 believe there's not a statement since
44:59 the
45:01 Titanic of we're waiting for the good
45:03 thing it's
45:05 amazing absolutely amazing I think the
45:08 moon landing is probably the closest
45:10 right that's the probably the closest
45:12 one where people coales around
45:15 it and like there's some Modern [ __ ]
45:17 like catching a rocket with chopsticks
45:20 which they did today they they they so
45:23 yesterday Bezos got his rocket into
45:25 orbit after a couple of years
45:28 delay and today Elon caught his booster
45:31 but blew up his his his Starship went
45:34 boom
45:35 [Laughter]
45:38 boom what did he say he did he put out a
45:41 tweet that was like um Success is Not
45:44 Guaranteed but entertainment is and he
45:46 showed a video of like all the pieces of
45:48 the of the uh the rocket coming back
45:50 into the
45:52 atmosphere what's new with Korea I'm
45:54 going to show you Korea in a second holy
45:57 [ __ ] that thing's cool
45:59 too all right
46:03 uh okay let me back this out do this so
46:08 now we're going to do a little I'm going
46:11 to show you a video so
46:14 yesterday we went into
46:18 um Luma labs they they have a new model
46:23 called um Ray
46:25 2 and their previous model was
46:27 apparently called Ray 1.6 this is Ray 2
46:30 it's out you can now play with it if
46:33 you've got access to Luma laabs dream
46:36 machine um one of the cool things about
46:39 dream machine in fact Let Me Go show uh
46:42 no I'm gonna have to change my my things
46:44 one of the cool things about dream
46:45 machine is they've got this new
46:48 interface that allows you to really
46:50 really quickly iterate or just create
46:53 lots of versions of the same thing very
46:55 very quickly and so I did that last
46:57 night and and I found there was this one
47:01 generation that we did of like a
47:03 construction worker dancing near a
47:05 Refinery that every time I replicated it
47:08 it was just really good so I thought let
47:10 me let me turn this into a video so I
47:11 made this into a video so I put this so
47:14 here's my
47:15 request here's my
47:17 request
47:20 um onx I'm Kyle Shannon go find this
47:24 post and boost it because the [ __ ]
47:25 Tik Tok algorithm
47:28 wouldn't show it to anyone I think
47:29 because I might have had a hashtag in it
47:31 I don't [ __ ] know
47:33 anyway all right so we're GNA
47:36 play we're gonna play The Vig for you
47:39 now all right you got it there it
47:44 [Music]

50:34 did the um did the music and then um
50:38 Luma lab's dream machine did all that
50:40 video footage all that video footage was
50:43 generated from nothing like it was what
50:47 was fun so last night what I
50:50 did was I I came up with a new way to
50:54 kind of
50:55 brainstorm video visual
51:02 and it was to go to this is the uh this
51:06 is the Luma Labs
51:09 interface the idea that I had was so so
51:12 see how these shots look familiar but
51:15 different they kind of look like like
51:19 that one in
51:22 particular kind of looks like the movie
51:25 Seven but like there's no
51:28 um high tension wires here and it's like
51:30 a dude that's dead here well that's
51:33 because what I did was I had
51:39 um I had chat GPT take famous movie
51:43 scenes and keep the look and feel of
51:45 them but completely change up the action
51:48 in them so that they would have a
51:50 familiar thing so one of them was this
51:52 urban dance thing and so let's see a
51:56 factory work dances erratically on an
51:58 outdoor staircase as industrial chimneys
52:02 belch smoke in the distance his figure
52:04 silhouetted I think this is from which
52:06 one's is this from this isn't from Seven
52:09 I forget what this one's
52:11 from I forget but anyway um so we so we
52:16 had these these two cool things here and
52:19 I said Ju Just make more and I it just
52:21 kept making more and they were all good
52:23 like some of these things that that uh
52:27 this model made
52:29 sucked and then what I did this morning
52:32 because again I know how to make good
52:33 life change Life Choices is I downloaded
52:38 a bunch of these clips onto my phone and
52:41 and I'm like I can probably just edit
52:42 this in something like cap cut which I
52:44 don't know how to use cap cut so I
52:46 actually used chat gbt to teach me how
52:49 to use it a little bit and then I sort
52:51 of figured it out and it it took me like
52:53 an hour mostly because I didn't know the
52:56 interface and I didn't know what I was
52:57 doing but I went and I grabbed the the
53:00 quantum Cipher song and I just Stitch
53:03 stitched a bunch of these together
53:04 picked the transitions Chang the
53:06 In-N-Out points of some of them to match
53:09 main points in the music put the
53:12 subtitles on there because I think
53:14 seeing the words because it's such a a
53:17 cool lyrically cool song was was kind of
53:20 neat so anyway yeah that was that crazy
53:24 right use Google studio yeah I listen it
53:27 was just I just wanted to get it
53:29 done like I don't I don't want to learn
53:32 new software to to put how much I hate
53:36 video editing into context I'm the CEO
53:39 of a company called storyvine which is
53:41 an automated video storytelling platform
53:44 that automates video editing because I
53:46 hate it so
53:49 much and I don't think anyone should
53:51 have to deal with it and I feel like
53:53 hallelujah we're we're coming into an
53:55 era where you're just going to be able
53:56 ble to speak [ __ ] into
53:58 existence we're actually sort of there
54:01 it's just that you have to know lots of
54:03 these tools to be able to do this stuff
54:05 so um I also saw yeah it's a little
54:07 Flash no Flash Dance wasn't the movie it
54:09 was I can I can figure out what movie it
54:11 was hang
54:13 on it's it was one with bonich Del Toro
54:18 I think um
54:45 Fight Club rooftop Reflections wait
54:48 what's this the quote of the dance is
54:53 erratically hang on
54:57 hacker
55:00 couple detective yeah so here's seven
55:03 that was the one in the
55:04 field civilians crumbling City no lone
55:10 soldier factory worker oh from
55:14 Joker yeah from Joker that's kind of
55:18 [Music]
55:21 cool
55:24 yeah there you go
55:27 so what's cool is it sort of kept the
55:29 color grading you know from from the
55:33 film and again I didn't even have to
55:35 think about it like like this was one
55:39 where I didn't really have an interest
55:41 in creating another video for Quantum
55:45 Cipher but when I had 20 or 30 of these
55:48 clips that all had some consistency to
55:51 them I'm like that that there's
55:52 something cool
55:53 there and they're all dancing so I'm
55:56 like what's the what's the hottest song
55:58 that I've ever
56:00 made it's Quantum
56:02 Cipher um quit that quit
56:10 what it wasn't No Country for Old Men
56:13 but there's another prompt that I did
56:15 that was No Country for Old Men Let me
56:17 see which one that one was
56:24 um it did Lawrence of Arabia Dunkirk
56:29 Casablanca
56:30 parasite No Country for Old Men seeing
56:33 alone stranger questions of farmer in a
56:36 sun bleach Barn let's just go make this
56:37 one so we'll go back over to Luma
56:41 labs and so basically it's literally
56:44 just copy paste make sure you're in the
56:46 right thing 21 by9 aspect ratio video
56:49 Ray to 720p
56:52 boom just vomit that [ __ ] out
56:58 there you
57:00 go oh send Joker oh
57:04 I scroll back to my thoughts of your
57:07 reference okay hang on oh I saw someone
57:10 asked a question about uh who's Kevin
57:12 Clark Kevin Clark is my um co-author on
57:16 the book collective intelligence in the
57:17 age of AI he's my senior advisor for
57:21 storyvine he and I have met every week
57:24 for 13 years um talking about Story vine
57:27 and other things um he used to run IBM's
57:30 Global brand he was the brand manager
57:32 for ThinkPad he's the one that that
57:35 basically you know put ThinkPad on the
57:37 map for IBM I think he worked there for
57:39 25 or 30 years um and uh he's just he's
57:43 the nicest guy in the world he's super
57:45 smart he's got one of those vocabularies
57:48 that you know when you have a an
57:50 education in a brain like mine you're
57:52 like uh yeah I know what that means uh
57:55 uh
58:00 um so it's good to have chat GPT when
58:02 you're talking to him you can you can
58:04 actually in real time uh you know look
58:07 up the [ __ ] he's talking about and go oh
58:09 yeah that makes
58:11 sense um let me go find Cory Sandler's
58:13 thing here ear ear
58:16 [Music]
58:23 ear uh uh
58:30 old style of Hip Hop love it thank you
58:32 very
58:33 much TK was dancing to that video
58:36 earlier khaki saw it very cool um Corey
58:43 Sandler that
58:44 Ruff
58:46 was ory ery
58:51 ory I don't know what you mean Corey
58:54 Sandler was it earlier
59:03 you're going to have to put a muscle car
59:04 in that prompt Kyle yeah I know
59:07 right so here's the No Country for Old
59:09 Men
59:13 clip that guy just disappear
59:17 watch poof
59:27 that one's almost usable you got quirky
59:31 methed out cowboy on the right but you
59:33 got you know good looking good looking
59:37 jacked cowboy on the left there there
59:40 you
59:42 go crazy right just
59:46 crazy um all right
59:51 Korea wait what else do I have to talk
59:53 about oh
59:57 Bonkers Bonkers this
1:00:04 isers spooky action in the oh you know
1:00:07 one of the things I want to do I want to
1:00:08 learn Quantum
1:00:10 Cipher well and and so many of you know
1:00:13 this but I wrote Quantum Cipher as a
1:00:16 song for Sydney my musical so the
1:00:19 actress playing Sydney is gonna have to
1:00:21 do that rap
1:00:27 oh I'm so excited we're doing a reading
1:00:29 of Sydney on February 1 in Upstate New
1:00:32 York I am so [ __ ] excited all right
1:00:35 let's do Ms
1:00:39 materials Microsoft today announced
1:00:48 released let me zoom in on these
1:00:52 things see all those
1:00:54 little mo looking things those are all
1:00:59 molecule looking
1:01:03 things Microsoft researchers today
1:01:07 introduced matter gen as in material
1:01:12 generation a model that can discover new
1:01:15 new materials tailored to specific needs
1:01:19 like efficient solar cells or CO2
1:01:21 recycling Advan uh advancing progress
1:01:24 Beyond trial and error experiment so
1:01:27 basically you tell this model what you
1:01:29 want the the the attributes of the
1:01:32 material the behavior of the material to
1:01:33 be and it'll invent it for
1:01:38 you came out
1:01:40 today so this is this is why I'm feeling
1:01:43 like like there's all this chatter about
1:01:45 [ __ ] open AI has cracked something
1:01:47 here this kind of thing happened
1:01:50 like these models are getting scary good
1:01:52 like the thing I just did where I had
1:01:54 chat GPT no all the good scenes and all
1:01:57 the good movies and reimagine them so we
1:02:00 can just have some cool looking scene
1:02:02 that has a familiarity to it but we
1:02:04 don't have to do it this is if you're a
1:02:06 material scientist or if you want to
1:02:08 create something new and Innovative
1:02:10 you've always had an idea and you're
1:02:12 always like well I should have gone to
1:02:15 school for physics and I wanted to be an
1:02:17 engineer but it didn't it fell through
1:02:21 and I've got this idea for this material
1:02:24 but I don't know any material scientists
1:02:25 and I don't have money
1:02:30 to here you go go make
1:02:35 one matter genen a generative AI tool
1:02:38 that tackles materials Discovery from a
1:02:40 different angle instead of screening the
1:02:42 candidates it directly generates novel
1:02:45 materials given prompts of the design
1:02:48 requirements for an
1:02:51 application I need a new battery
1:02:54 insulator that has the following
1:02:55 properties in the following temperatures
1:02:57 and the following conditions and it
1:02:59 invents it now can it be made I don't
1:03:02 [ __ ]
1:03:03 know it can generate materials with
1:03:06 desired chemistry mechanical electronic
1:03:08 or magnetic properties as well as
1:03:10 combinations of different constraints
1:03:13 matter gen enables a new paradigm of
1:03:15 generative AI assisted materials design
1:03:17 that also allows for efficient
1:03:19 exploration of 3D materials um Beyond
1:03:23 The Limited set of known ones
1:03:26 now Deep Mind did something similar to
1:03:28 this I don't know a year ago eight
1:03:30 months ago um I forget what theirs was
1:03:33 called but
1:03:36 um human beings have discovered a total
1:03:39 of
1:03:41 64 or
1:03:43 66,000 materials and deep mind uh did a
1:03:48 thing that that discovered um
1:03:52 340,000
1:03:54 new ones
1:03:56 stable
1:03:59 materials um so like this shit's coming
1:04:02 it's it's it's [ __ ] Bonkers anyway
1:04:05 thoughts
1:04:09 [Music]
1:04:11 questions Alpha Proto that's what it was
1:04:14 Alpha Proto Alpha Proto hey
1:04:23 dude ai ai will read screening the
1:04:27 candidates and I'll curl up in a ball I
1:04:29 know it it is Silver Fox it's this
1:04:32 shit's totally overwhelming I agree with
1:04:34 you it's totally
1:04:40 overwhelming but it's also like we get
1:04:42 to
1:04:48 experience like we get to experience way
1:04:51 faster than the Industrial Revolution
1:04:53 got to experience augmented strength
1:04:55 right
1:04:57 it you know that took I don't know most
1:05:00 of the 20th century to evolve
1:05:03 and you know if you were around in the
1:05:06 1870s you didn't get to see the really
1:05:08 cool [ __ ] like the cool [ __ ] came in the
1:05:11 30s 40s 50s right 50s the future with
1:05:15 the cars that look like spaceships
1:05:18 right we're get we're getting to live in
1:05:22 a
1:05:23 time when we're going to experience not
1:05:26 in science fiction we're going to be
1:05:28 able to play with
1:05:30 tools that are significantly
1:05:33 beyond anything we've ever experienced
1:05:36 in in terms of intelligence and
1:05:38 knowledge [ __ ]
1:05:40 Bonkers all right so
1:05:44 now that's not the right one is this the
1:05:46 right one yeah this is the right one
1:05:50 okay so I am at kore.ai
1:05:54 and K i. a has this new
1:06:00 thing where you
1:06:12 can so I'm moving around the thing on
1:06:14 the right and then notice I can move
1:06:17 that car around and it'll reposition it
1:06:20 on the left on wait I'm moving it on the
1:06:22 left and it repositions it on the right
1:06:29 so that's pretty slick now how did we do
1:06:31 that
1:06:34 okay this is not intuitive at
1:06:39 all
1:06:42 but so what we're going to do so if you
1:06:44 go to
1:06:46 Korea there's all these different tools
1:06:49 um their video generator is really cool
1:06:53 because you can um it's got a bunch of
1:06:56 different models you can generate video
1:06:57 from so I just generated the uh that No
1:07:01 Country for Old Men thing was in um Luma
1:07:04 Labs dream machine and so this thing now
1:07:07 has one two three four five six seven
1:07:11 different video models that you can
1:07:13 generate in which is kind of cool but if
1:07:16 you go up here and you say generate
1:07:19 image or if I just let's say grab that
1:07:23 image well that's kind of cool I like
1:07:25 that
1:07:27 all right let's grab this
1:07:30 one so that's a cool Mustang and it's a
1:07:33 weird cool
1:07:35 Mustang so I'm going to download that
1:07:39 video and now we're going to go to the
1:07:41 realtime interface and if you haven't
1:07:43 seen the real time interface this is it
1:07:47 and so you've got this thing on the
1:07:48 bottom called AI
1:07:53 strength and the more you slide that to
1:07:56 the right the crazier it gets it says
1:07:58 it's turning those shapes into a
1:07:59 futuristic muscle
1:08:01 car and then I can get rid of those and
1:08:05 now it's just making you know images
1:08:07 over there on the right
1:08:10 okay and I can also get rid of this
1:08:12 prompt and it should if I move this
1:08:14 thing all the way to the left it'll look
1:08:17 just like a forest kind of like the one
1:08:18 on the or yeah the one on the left and
1:08:22 then the more I move this to the right
1:08:23 the more it'll it'll sort of deviate
1:08:26 from The Prompt right or from the image
1:08:31 okay all right and and then you know you
1:08:34 can you can put shapes in here so if I
1:08:37 put you know this body of
1:08:40 water I sort of increase the AI strength
1:08:43 it should turn it into something cool
1:08:45 I'll say I'll say pond in the
1:08:51 forest so there you
1:08:54 go I think I can change the color of
1:08:57 that to be more Pond
1:08:59 likee there you go boom right so real
1:09:05 time image composition pretty slick
1:09:08 right
1:09:12 okay so let's get rid of this so what
1:09:15 we're gonna
1:09:16 do is we're gonna upload an image and
1:09:19 we're gonna
1:09:20 upload is this it yeah
1:09:27 we're going to upload this
1:09:30 thing make this
1:09:34 bigger all right here's where the
1:09:36 non-intuitive part
1:09:38 comes so down here I'm going to do
1:09:42 cartoon of a muscle
1:09:48 car yeah we'll just call it that and
1:09:50 then we'll kind of slide this to the
1:09:54 left cartoon
1:10:03 illustration of a muscle car all right
1:10:05 so there's our thing on the right
1:10:06 there's our thing on the left
1:10:08 now we're g to
1:10:11 turn this image into a 3D object so
1:10:15 first thing we're going to do is we're
1:10:16 going to rightclick
1:10:18 on this image and we're going to say
1:10:20 remove the background
1:10:26 all right so now we have a car that's
1:10:29 kind of
1:10:32 cool and I could say of a muscle
1:10:36 car in oh I didn't even say muscle car
1:10:39 that's why I kept putting muscly dudes
1:10:40 there in the woods I I don't even think
1:10:43 we need in the woods right so we can we
1:10:45 can play around with our AI
1:10:48 strength that's pretty slick all
1:10:52 right okay so we've got our car now with
1:10:56 this view now we're going to right click
1:10:58 again and we're going to say convert to
1:11:03 3D converting to 3D so there's a little
1:11:06 there's a little
1:11:08 uh progress bar at the
1:11:16 top but like let's say I really like
1:11:18 this image here on the left but I I
1:11:20 would really like it to be facing the
1:11:23 audience or facing away well now we can
1:11:27 all right come on you little whipper
1:11:33 snapper so it creates a 3D object it
1:11:36 puts the um whatever you call it the
1:11:39 Shader on
1:11:41 it all right so there it
1:11:44 is and so now we can get rid of we can
1:11:47 get rid of the
1:11:50 image and now we got this thing
1:11:57 how [ __ ] crazy is
1:11:59 this
1:12:03 um so I can
1:12:21 go my my browser Tabs are freaking it
1:12:24 out because of the
1:12:33 memory and then I can change you know
1:12:36 you can do things like change the
1:12:40 background let's put this bad
1:12:45 boy there you go
1:13:04 [Music]
1:13:18 so we'll say um muscle
1:13:23 car zooms
1:13:26 down the
1:13:34 road make this a little smaller put it
1:13:37 in the
1:13:42 distance let's see how far do we do on
1:13:45 it
1:14:02 come on catch up catch up you cute
1:14:05 little thing on the
1:14:09 [Laughter]
1:14:11 right there you
1:14:13 go crazy
1:14:15 right oh that's
1:14:18 cool look at that
1:14:52 just [ __ ] design a
1:14:54 new automobiles
1:15:01 here oh that's nice I hope it
1:15:20 stays that's
1:15:22 cool can I do this
1:15:29 just amazing how different different it
1:15:31 does it that's
1:15:33 [Laughter]
1:15:54 amazing that's a pretty
1:16:01 one boom let's go get another
1:16:05 picture let's go get oh that's gorgeous
1:16:08 look at that look at that bad boy yeah I
1:16:10 did a couple of these with the weirdness
1:16:13 turned up in mid journey and it made
1:16:15 just these beautiful [ __ ]
1:16:18 cars look at those
1:16:21 things need some rubber on that
1:16:24 road that seems super hard to maneuver
1:16:27 yeah Korea Korea takes Korea is more
1:16:29 like jazz than than
1:16:35 Photoshop let's see that one or which
1:16:38 one do I
1:16:41 want that one's pretty
1:16:45 badass I think we'll take that one it's
1:16:49 just weird
1:16:57 muscle car Zoom let's see muscle car
1:17:03 squeals
1:17:06 leaving rubber on the
1:17:14 road all right okay
1:17:18 so again the process import an image
1:17:32 oops
1:17:34 and right click remove
1:17:46 background all right so we've got that
1:17:49 now I'm going to right click and I'm
1:17:50 going to say convert to 3D
1:17:59 let's change our background all right
1:18:00 that's doing that can I change the
1:18:02 background while that's happening
1:18:06 probably n we want do we have any other
1:18:13 roads color
1:18:19 illustrations oh here we go this is a
1:18:21 good
1:18:23 one okay
1:18:26 so we get rid of the
1:18:27 picture and now we got this how did it
1:18:31 do not bad like this thing what's really
1:18:34 cool about Kaa is because it's
1:18:38 generating this new image on the
1:18:40 right the one on the left could be
1:18:43 jankier than
1:18:45 [ __ ] right here let me get this a little
1:18:48 closer to what we're looking at here so
1:18:52 it's not making so much [ __ ] up
1:19:15 did I spell squeals wrong I think I did
1:19:18 squeals
1:19:19 um
1:19:22 leaving uh squeals
1:19:27 in a cloud of
1:19:47 smoke where's the edge of this
1:19:51 box where's the edge of the Box
1:19:54 people there it is
1:20:28 [Music]
1:20:32 all right there you go that was Korea
1:20:35 that was
1:20:41 [Music]
1:20:51 Korea all right jellyfish thank you all
1:20:54 good Day to you all right what else do I
1:20:58 have open AI [ __ ] Quantum Cipher we did
1:21:02 Ms materials we did Korea 3D we
1:21:08 did and what is the opposite of the
1:21:11 Titanic rearranging deck CH deck chairs
1:21:14 on the Titanic I think that's where we
1:21:16 are right now all this activity we're
1:21:18 doing right
1:21:21 now is about to just become different
1:21:26 like I glad I'm glad I learned that [ __ ]
1:21:28 over the past two years but holy [ __ ]
1:21:30 this new
1:21:31 [Laughter]
1:21:39 stuff what thoughts how did you get rid
1:21:41 of the forest on the left you go to on
1:21:45 the bottom
1:21:47 left yeah the interface for Kaa is not
1:21:52 oops it is not super intuitive
1:21:57 because it's kind of a different way of
1:22:00 working you go to this this uh bottom
1:22:03 leftand little thing here canvas
1:22:07 background so and you can just pick
1:22:10 things you can just pick
1:22:11 textures like if we want that car in
1:22:13 some sort of cool sci-fi looking thing
1:22:16 zo there it is whoop there it is
1:22:33 there it looks like it's taken
1:22:42 off well that's kind of cool
1:22:58 whoop there it is whoop there it
1:23:04 is all right all right all
1:23:09 right all right
1:23:21 [Music]
1:23:26 what's up with people who
1:23:28 diss
1:23:30 um if they're dissing about AI or well
1:23:34 if they're pissing on me they're
1:23:35 probably just pissing on me because I'm
1:23:36 old and fat but if if they're pissing
1:23:38 and moan about
1:23:40 AI um it's it's fear likely fear or
1:23:46 anger um both of which listen quite
1:23:48 frankly I mean I've been a lifelong
1:23:50 creative right I've been a creative
1:23:52 professional for for all my career
1:23:54 essentially
1:23:56 I get the existential threat but here's
1:24:00 what I also know using these tools is a
1:24:04 [ __ ] ton less scary than sitting on the
1:24:07 sidelines bitching about them it's
1:24:10 terrifying if you're on the sidelines if
1:24:12 you don't understand what they can do
1:24:14 what they can't do what's coming how
1:24:16 they can amplify what you want to do so
1:24:20 that's what it
1:24:21 is Kyle you see Joy's new music video I
1:24:24 have not seen it yet no that's cool I
1:24:27 will go check it out I will go find
1:24:30 it race
1:24:32 them Source Camp definitely can't keep
1:24:34 up no I I I
1:24:39 mean you know it's funny Kelly I was
1:24:42 thinking
1:24:46 today I was thinking today that it's
1:24:49 like like that thing I did last night
1:24:52 where I went and I just found the the
1:24:54 movie
1:24:55 and then modified them copy and pasted
1:24:58 those prompts
1:24:59 into run or uh uh dream machine and it
1:25:04 made all those videos and then I made
1:25:05 that music video today
1:25:08 like that music video is really good
1:25:12 like it's really good but it it was
1:25:14 literally like a brain fart right it was
1:25:17 like a couple of hours of just [ __ ]
1:25:20 around and it's like if you wanted to
1:25:22 really go deep into anyone one of these
1:25:25 tools like this Korea Real Time 3D thing
1:25:28 that I just did just just learning Korea
1:25:30 and what it can do or just learning chat
1:25:32 GPT and what it can do the tools are so
1:25:35 sophisticated now and they can augment
1:25:38 so much of what we do it's like where do
1:25:41 you begin and I I don't know and again
1:25:44 why I why it feels to me like we're
1:25:47 rearranging you know deck chairs you
1:25:49 know waiting for the Apollo
1:25:51 launch is
1:25:57 that
1:26:00 I I I think we're in Fairly short order
1:26:04 going to be in a place where we can ask
1:26:06 a very simple question and get back an
1:26:09 incredibly sophisticated
1:26:12 something like if we think the responses
1:26:15 we get back now are
1:26:18 impressive when you have a thing that is
1:26:20 better than the best people at every job
1:26:26 out there including designer including
1:26:29 writer including
1:26:32 consultant what does that make possible
1:26:36 pretty much any [ __ ] thing you
1:26:39 want and who's going to get to play with
1:26:41 that [ __ ] first is people that are left
1:26:46 of center enough not politically crazy
1:26:51 enough to hang out on a channel like
1:26:54 this night after after night if you're
1:26:56 curious enough to go I got to I got to
1:26:58 be in this conversation I got to be in
1:26:59 this
1:27:01 conversation the opportunity for us is
1:27:03 going to be insane I mean it already is
1:27:07 insane I probably started 12 projects
1:27:09 and finished zero because there's just
1:27:11 too much and I can't focus I know
1:27:13 welcome to the
1:27:15 club well why do you think I got a
1:27:17 writing partner for the for the
1:27:19 musical because I know like once the
1:27:22 adrenaline wears off for me
1:27:26 I'll just forget about it like I've got
1:27:28 I've got two illustrations to make for
1:27:30 the embrace the Jank book it's done
1:27:33 except for two
1:27:34 illustrations and because I don't have
1:27:37 well actually Cindy's being my
1:27:38 accountabil budy right
1:27:40 now she said finish those [ __ ]
1:27:43 illustrations let's publish this
1:27:45 [ __ ] so all right I'm still kind
1:27:49 of in GPT 2.0 and the world's in 8.6 I
1:27:52 agree I'm I I feel feel exactly the same
1:27:56 Corey I I feel like
1:27:59 um I was I was even thinking about that
1:28:01 tonight like like what's the purpose of
1:28:04 this channel like show people spinning a
1:28:07 car around in 3D it's like does that
1:28:10 does that add value is that interesting
1:28:13 it's like well
1:28:15 it's a someone might see it and go holy
1:28:18 [ __ ] like I've been looking for this my
1:28:20 whole life but there's also just like
1:28:23 okay there's there there's there's a new
1:28:25 point of information okay it can do that
1:28:27 now okay got it okay Microsoft we can
1:28:30 now do materials we did Deep Mind before
1:28:32 now we got this one okay so materials
1:28:34 are getting real right I feel like we're
1:28:37 just we're just sort of popping you know
1:28:40 popping these jelly beans into our
1:28:44 head if you're in the conversation and
1:28:47 then as these things start to get more
1:28:48 real we're we're going to be there to to
1:28:51 at least know that it's a big deal and
1:28:54 ideally know what to do with
1:28:57 it Bob Don again I've been looking for
1:28:59 this my whole
1:29:03 life I love smart
1:29:05 asses oh man I question my value all the
1:29:10 time a Potter live streams don't know
1:29:13 yeah I know
1:29:15 yeah
1:29:17 exactly but you know I hear it all the
1:29:20 time and you probably do too Corey that
1:29:22 people are like oh my God this made such
1:29:23 a difference for me I was you know just
1:29:26 sitting around doing nothing and now I
1:29:28 do this now I'm passionate about
1:29:29 something the thing I'm most excited
1:29:31 about for this channel is not any of the
1:29:34 individual accomplishments while they're
1:29:36 really exciting it's the trajectory of
1:29:39 the
1:29:39 people right almost everyone in here
1:29:43 who's who's stuck around and shared
1:29:45 their
1:29:46 story has just these amazing things
1:29:50 happening and some are small but they're
1:29:55 profound right I rediscovered my love
1:29:58 for poetry holy [ __ ] that's cool you
1:30:01 know I was never good with words but
1:30:04 like I I have these Visions in my head
1:30:07 and I I I want to be able to articulate
1:30:09 them with words and now I can holy [ __ ]
1:30:11 that's
1:30:13 huge so all
1:30:16 right I want my own Jarvis I think we're
1:30:19 all going to have our own Jarvis in
1:30:20 relatively short order smart asses love
1:30:24 love you too thank you very
1:30:27 much building neural Pathways that's it
1:30:30 yeah exactly early anti-alzheimer's
1:30:33 prevention program you know it's funny
1:30:35 so my dad died from Alzheimer's
1:30:38 um and so you know I think about it
1:30:42 and they've always said they've always
1:30:46 said well you know to prevent
1:30:47 Alzheimer's you should do like a
1:30:49 crossword puzzle every day or whatever
1:30:51 whatever the [ __ ] the stupid thing was
1:30:52 right but you know keep your brain
1:30:55 cognitively active I gotta tell you man
1:30:59 the past two
1:31:01 years I can feel my brain behaves
1:31:06 differently than it did before like
1:31:08 there there is more [ __ ] wired
1:31:11 up because part of it's because of the
1:31:13 things I do every night I'm I'm you know
1:31:16 as I'm demoing things I'm having to
1:31:18 figure them out as I'm articulating
1:31:20 things I'm having to you know use that
1:31:22 part of my brain
1:31:24 um but it it's really just these tools
1:31:27 are like just getting your head around
1:31:31 what is in our hands right
1:31:33 now is
1:31:36 crazy and and like the fact that you can
1:31:39 go from huh I kind of have an idea to oh
1:31:43 here it is to oh now it's really good to
1:31:45 here's another idea here's 10 ideas holy
1:31:48 [ __ ] why don't I just make a video while
1:31:51 I'm getting ready in the morning okay
1:31:55 I don't know how to use cap cut I put on
1:31:58 advanced voice I put on screen sharing I
1:32:00 don't know if you know you can do
1:32:03 this on your phone I don't know if I can
1:32:06 do it here I'll show you how to do it
1:32:17 here you go to chat
1:32:21 GPT you open up Quinn or the advanced
1:32:28 voice hey Quinn with
1:32:31 shaken hey Kyle not much how about you
1:32:34 how's everything going yeah good I'm
1:32:35 just sitting here on my Tik Tok I want
1:32:36 to show people how you can see the
1:32:38 screen so you click on these three
1:32:39 dots you go share
1:32:42 screen and you say and it brings up that
1:32:45 thing and you go start broadcast
1:32:47 boom that's perfect and now your
1:32:50 screen's being shared you're all
1:32:53 set okay you can see the screen
1:32:56 right yes I can see it clearly looks
1:32:59 like everything's working great what do
1:33:01 you
1:33:02 see I can see your home screen with all
1:33:04 your app icons everything looks good um
1:33:08 somewhere on there is is like the the
1:33:10 Microsoft Chat thing do you know which
1:33:12 one that one
1:33:14 is I don't see an app specifically
1:33:17 labeled for Microsoft Chat it might be
1:33:19 named it may be
1:33:22 Bing yes Bing could be what you're
1:33:24 looking for it's Microsoft search engine
1:33:27 and chat tool you can try that one where
1:33:29 is
1:33:31 that it's on the left side second row
1:33:34 from the bottom left side second row
1:33:36 from the
1:33:37 bottom cool exactly all right what do
1:33:40 glad to help what do I do here
1:33:42 now you can use the Bing search bar at
1:33:45 the top to type your query or tap the
1:33:48 microphone icon to use voice
1:33:50 search that would probably mess up our
1:33:52 little conversation wouldn't it
1:33:55 no worries our conversation is still
1:33:57 ongoing you can always come back to me
1:34:00 anytime so
1:34:02 like uh okay bye stop screen
1:34:07 broadcasting bye
1:34:10 Quinn like did you know you could do
1:34:14 that did you know you now have kind of a
1:34:17 a partner that can just see the [ __ ] you
1:34:20 do and help you do
1:34:22 it hey I can see things that's that's a
1:34:26 lot of times people Miss yeah exactly
1:34:30 exactly wow you can share your screen
1:34:32 and chat GPT yeah exactly like and how
1:34:36 do you know this stuff how do you learn
1:34:39 this stuff you can't possibly learn it
1:34:42 all so the reason to be in community the
1:34:45 reason to be in something like the AI
1:34:46 learning
1:34:49 lab or the AI Salon sorry
1:34:56 Community is because someone in there
1:34:58 will go oh did you know that this can
1:35:00 happen or that can happen did you know
1:35:02 you could do this oh [ __ ] I didn't know
1:35:05 that that's how we learn in this space
1:35:07 when it's when things are changing this
1:35:09 much all right I'm gonna get out of here
1:35:12 um tomorrow is Friday so tomorrow we got
1:35:15 Friday night date night um I don't think
1:35:17 I've got anything tomorrow night so it
1:35:19 should be on time 8 800 PM mountain
1:35:22 time um bring a date bring a spouse
1:35:26 bring your dog hang out alone all of it
1:35:30 come hang out you might ask Kyle but how
1:35:33 is Friday night date night different
1:35:35 than what we did
1:35:37 tonight it's it's pretty significant
1:35:40 it's a different day it's the day after
1:35:44 tonight but it's completely different
1:35:46 because of
1:35:50 that um also tomorrow at 11 11 a
1:35:55 mountain time on LinkedIn I do this
1:35:58 thing called AI office hours so come
1:36:00 hang out at AI office
1:36:02 hours um and we will um talk about all
1:36:07 this [ __ ] there's a lot going on so I
1:36:09 think it'll be an interesting
1:36:10 conversation the last month or so at AI
1:36:12 office hours has been has been quite
1:36:14 fascinating there's there's a lot of
1:36:16 people a lot of people doing a lot of
1:36:18 interesting stuff and a lot of people
1:36:20 trying to figure out who they are and
1:36:22 what they want to be when they grow up
1:36:23 and the place we should all be it really
1:36:26 is office hours link there isn't one
1:36:29 it's just go to uh LinkedIn Kyle Shannon
1:36:32 is my LinkedIn I'll I'll do a reminder
1:36:35 in the morning for for tomorrow's
1:36:37 meeting and then any of the previous AI
1:36:41 office hours the link for the Google
1:36:43 Meetup is the same I've been using the
1:36:46 same one for two years so it's an
1:36:48 amazing group all right great
1:36:51 beautiful fantas
1:36:55 fantastic all right J people all right
1:36:58 I'm gonna get out of here on the YouTube
1:37:00 in a in a in a the uh the LinkedIn in X
1:37:05 formerly known as Twitter we all learned
1:37:07 that tonight I don't know if you knew
1:37:09 that they used to call it Twitter had a
1:37:11 little
1:37:13 bird yeah we knew that Kyle
1:37:16 whatever what what is this Channel about
1:37:19 anyway I'm pretty sure this like the
1:37:21 stupidest most stupid Channel
1:37:25 ever
1:37:28 Kyle yeah whatever what are your
1:37:31 qualifications pretty sure you don't
1:37:33 have
1:37:35 any all right
1:37:37 Napoleon peace out see you
1:37:41 tomorrow all right
