Description

Description: I took my new generative AI assistant Claude for an impromptu walking tour of lower Manhattan on August 13, 2023. We started at the 9/11 memorial and made our way past Wall Street and my old dot com office. I shared stories and impressions along the way. The technology continues to rapidly advance. 2:46 city all right going
2:50 up I'll just walk us out welcome
2:59 everybody
3:06 the architecture here is just stunning
3:08 stunning
3:19 stunning let's see haven't been able to
3:22 visit New York yet New York's the best I
3:25 lived here
3:26 for 16 years something like that
3:30 and then I was a little north of the
3:33 city and then uh I miss it damn do I
3:36 miss New York the energy the people are
3:39 flipping amazing my day so far has
3:42 consisted of getting up at 3: in the
3:45 morning for a for a 620
3:49 flight and then
3:52 um uneventful flight which is always
3:55 good and then the car rental place we
3:59 chose
4:00 um didn't accept corporate insurance for
4:04 renting a car which I've been renting
4:07 cars for all of my life I've never heard
4:10 that but that was that so we took an
4:12 Uber to the city we had lunch at an
4:17 Australian place in
4:21 uh in
4:23 uh on Broadway and
4:26 bond right next to my old office of
4:29 agency.com
4:31 and then another office of agency.com
4:33 was like six blocks from
4:36 here so goodbye to that
4:41 space let's see nothing like it my
4:44 brother welcome home May Vinnie would
4:48 shaking yeah there is nothing like New
4:50 York
4:55 city
4:57 so all right I'm walking around luggage
4:59 so
5:00 it's a little awkward but anyway check
5:04 out that old architecture is
5:09 amazing look at that look at this
5:14 structure staggeringly
5:18 beautiful
5:20 Monique my partner where are you Monique
5:23 I'm still down by that thing well you
5:25 can see I'm still by this
5:27 thing so Monique and I are tooling
5:29 around she's uh she's getting her nails
5:33 done and I was getting my uh biometric
5:36 data uploaded to the uh
5:39 machine the office achieved agency yeah
5:42 I'm out oh you're getting a pedicure
5:44 very
5:45 fancy that's a cool little
5:48 mural all
5:50 right thank you Vinnie I will have a
5:52 great day we're going to Uber from here
5:55 to Scenic New
5:57 Jersey and we're going to have dinner
5:59 with our buddy
6:01 D and uh he's on our board of directors
6:04 one of our board board
6:08 members some more
6:10 cool
6:13 graffiti oh yeah God I [ __ ] love New
6:17 York look at this place how could you
6:19 not love
6:20 this absolutely [ __ ]
6:23 insane I miss it you know there's
6:27 something about New York about the way
6:28 people it's their focus like even if
6:32 they're just at a restaurant they're
6:33 [ __ ] up to something they're scheming
6:36 all the
6:38 time these things are cool Little Flower
6:45 things nice I want to visit New York the
6:48 energy is unreal yeah the energy is
6:49 [ __ ]
6:50 nuts it must have been well you know
6:53 it's funny I wasn't here for Co but
6:57 right after
6:58 911 it was like like the the city got
7:00 really quiet people got really nice they
7:03 all made eye
7:04 contact there was like a 3 we or 4 week
7:07 period where people were just um nice to
7:12 each other just checking in like you
7:13 okay you okay it's
7:20 amazing I'm sure I'm going to walk into
7:22 someone here someone's going to walk up
7:24 and slap my phone out of my hand so if
7:26 you see me get mugged you know at least
7:28 we have it on video
7:33 I just posted a uh I just posted a
7:37 video oh man didn't know you were alive
7:40 yeah have you been orbed yeah I just
7:41 posted the video of the orb thing it was
7:45 funny I went down the the two places
7:46 that I knew about were closed
7:48 today but this place called The Grove
7:51 was open and I'm like oh that sounds
7:53 cool and I get down there it's just a
7:55 clothing store and they had one orb in
7:57 there so uh
8:00 so yeah I recovered my uh my account and
8:05 scanned my eye it took like 30 seconds
8:07 just kind of a little ring you look into
8:09 it sort of scans your iris and then it
8:12 says it said something like
8:16 um like determining your
8:19 uniqueness and it determined that I was
8:22 unique that's pretty
8:26 cool you you want me to take a picture
8:28 of you all thanks you
8:33 okay um so check this out you haven't
8:36 seen the reflection for
8:48 here all the
8:53 names these are the footprints of the
8:58 Tower
9:04 yeah I'm
9:05 glowing yeah that's supposed to happen
9:08 that's you know you're verified once
9:09 you're uh you're buzzing and
9:28 resonating
9:42 all
9:43 right a must SE is the Guggenheim I
9:46 totally agree I have orbed I have a
9:49 video posted about it I showed you get
9:52 you get in the app you get a little uh
9:55 it's like an nft well I guess it's
9:56 exactly an
9:57 nft you get an nft
10:00 of your identity that you can flip
10:02 around and see your ID number on the
10:04 back which is a little creepy but you
10:06 know what are you going to
10:08 do look at
10:12 that stunning
10:18 building you know New York looks unreal
10:22 I'm from New Mexico it doesn't even like
10:23 I'm in the same country no it is New
10:26 York is just a fundamentally different
10:28 place on Earth
10:30 the people are different the energy is
10:35 different Bo this thing's beautiful look
10:37 at the
10:46 reflections it's kind of fun I've never
10:48 gone live like
10:54 this think I'll walk over to the other
10:58 one you know as a amazing when I when I
11:00 lived in New York I moved here in '
11:03 87 ' 87 yeah right out of
11:07 college and
11:09 uh at one point we moved to
11:12 Brooklyn and every time I came over the
11:15 Brooklyn Bridge I saw the twin towers
11:18 and I was just like [ __ ] people did
11:20 that like they were just staggering in
11:24 how big they were and how dominating
11:26 they were and so these are the
11:30 that was Tower one that's the footprint
11:32 there Tower two's over
11:33 here and I just and the you know the
11:36 Subways came here like the place I just
11:37 was was the the redone
11:40 Subway
11:42 area go to the edge right I'll go to the
11:45 edge of the second tower here I feel
11:48 like I'm going to stroll with a
11:49 friend that's awesome I grew up in
11:52 Atlantic City New Jersey very nice down
11:55 at the
11:56 boardwalk we're going down to the
11:58 boardwalk
12:00 fellas going to get ourselves some
12:02 cotton
12:16 candy
12:28 gorgeous
12:38 oh so here's a cool
12:40 little piece of it's not
12:44 trivia but okay it's kind of hard to
12:49 describe okay see the see the black
12:52 building to the right the really tall
12:54 one and then the silver one to the
12:57 left this building wait
13:00 right that little tall skinny building
13:03 in between the two the one that's sort
13:04 of light concrete
13:07 colored that was where the agency.com
13:09 offices were we had floors we
13:12 had
13:15 floors 11 12 and 13 or 12 13 and 14 and
13:20 then we had a cafeteria on the 50th
13:23 floor so right up you know I think seven
13:27 seven floors down from the top top of
13:30 that was where our cafeteria was and so
13:35 I wasn't in the office yet that morning
13:37 but there were some people up there
13:39 having breakfast and they saw the whole
13:41 thing absolutely
13:49 crazy yeah the the what a crazy floor
13:52 for a cafeteria uh that's cool what is
13:55 it now I don't know ien I haven't been
13:57 there in ages maybe I walk over there I
13:59 don't I don't know what Monique's doing
14:00 but I think she's still working on
14:01 getting her toes done
14:04 um I know that in in our offices in our
14:07 old offices from agency.com it was a uh
14:13 an Architecture Firm that was working on
14:16 the Second Avenue sub Subway they're
14:18 they're adding a Second Avenue subway
14:21 and I know they went in there I don't
14:22 know if they're still in
14:24 there but
14:26 um yeah it was crazy we we saw the
14:29 building it's The Old City Bank
14:30 headquarters so the the ground floor has
14:33 still got the Old City bank vault in
14:35 it and
14:39 um yeah that's nice look at
14:45 that ow sun in my
14:48 eye
14:52 um so so we saw the we saw the building
14:55 and then they said well these upper
14:57 floors are available and we you're like
14:59 wouldn't it be cool if we had a
15:01 cafeteria up here so we put the
15:02 cafeteria up there and it's where where
15:05 that building's located there's views on
15:07 all four sides you could you could see
15:09 Jersey you could see Brooklyn and it's
15:11 amazing Staten
15:16 Island yeah and that's where they were
15:18 like that space is where Tower 2 was and
15:21 that space is where Tower one
15:27 was all right
15:29 you make my day thanks for the guided
15:31 tour you're welcome thanks for
15:35 sharing
15:37 um I'm going to be here oh you're
15:39 Monique's going to be there for a while
15:40 all right I think I'll just walk over to
15:42 uh to 20 Exchange Place is where the
15:47 agency.com offices were this a cool
15:50 little this looking very San Francisco
15:51 this little Brick
15:58 Street
16:03 you want me to take a picture of
16:05 YouTube you want me to take a picture of
16:07 you too yeah
16:15 yeah ah
16:22 [Music]
16:24 nice there
16:26 you yeah you got it
16:37 all right wait I sent you a link to the
16:41 location and text okay they have
16:43 massages here if you want now I'm going
16:45 to walk around it's a really nice day
16:47 it's like 75 degrees not too
16:51 humid I will still
16:54 get uncomfortably sweaty but you
16:57 know no could ever be New York City I
17:02 agree with
17:03 that it is the
17:07 bomb I love how the light hits the
17:09 buildings look at that bouncing off the
17:11 other buildings making it look all
17:14 dappled da
17:18 do that's a cool shot look at
17:25 that all right we're
17:27 jaywalking notice the no walking sign in
17:31 New York City you just ignore those
17:34 That's the
17:35 Law watch me get arrested now sir we're
17:38 going to need you to come with
17:54 us New York's
17:57 finest
18:00 yo Amanda H what's
18:02 happening qbw
18:11 Williams I getting
18:14 thirsty we'll
18:18 survive there's a nice little breeze I
18:20 wouldn't be doing this if it were hot
18:21 out I can tell you that
18:27 fact
18:32 all
18:33 right let's
18:35 see our digital marketing AI programs
18:38 are cool
18:41 little come on get the light right that
18:45 cool little curvy street the the streets
18:47 in downtown Manhattan are
18:49 amazing
18:51 um the AI marketing
18:54 programs I don't know um things like
18:58 Jasper and copy AI I think there's
19:01 probably a lot of value in
19:03 them um it's stuff that you could
19:06 probably figure out on your own my my
19:08 challenge with software like that is
19:11 that it's a lot
19:14 of uh it's a lot of features you're not
19:16 going to
19:17 need and then you know the handful that
19:19 you are going to
19:21 need are never going to be quite exactly
19:23 what you
19:24 need but if you don't feel like figuring
19:28 all that [ __ ] out on your
19:29 own
19:31 probably probably worth doing it I know
19:33 it's probably windy right now I'm
19:34 walking into the wind I'll try to get
19:37 out of it in a
19:38 second hey my stupid self came to
19:40 Florida Florida's not bad it's it's New
19:43 York South right you can you can justify
19:46 it that
19:50 wayless
19:51 remember standing right in front of that
19:54 thing looking something to
19:57 drink
20:01 a duck crepe that sounds
20:04 good uh getting Orbee worth it welcome
20:07 back to New York City this is worth it
20:09 this is really
20:14 cool um that's helpful thank
20:19 you I don't know where you are oh but I
20:23 you I could leave my luggage with you
20:25 that's not a bad idea
20:26 monyque um
20:29 it's all right I'm
20:39 fine the jerks jerks
20:48 stop I'm breaking up how's my
20:52 signal it'll come
20:54 back it's probably just
20:57 downtown sit
21:05 iations the Trinity
21:07 building Trinity
21:14 Church it's
21:20 bright Trinity Church is crazy the the
21:23 fence all around Trinity Church was all
21:26 full of people looking for their loved
21:27 ones
21:29 after the towers came down for
21:31 months [ __ ] very very sad and
21:52 moving that's
21:55 cool Wall Street area yeah I'm walking
21:58 toward my uh my old offices for my old
22:05 company it's hot being in the sun I'm
22:07 getting out I'm getting out of the sun I
22:10 can't do it
22:11 anymore aun Bessie I'm
22:18 melting it's GNA be
22:25 okay I didn't say I was the brightest
22:27 fell in the planet
22:29 we're about to have dinner don't be
22:31 tempted I know it looked good didn't it
22:33 see you PB
22:35 Williams
22:37 um this is this downtown Wall Street
22:40 area a lot of the streets are really
22:42 small like
22:46 this and they're curvy and
22:49 twisty there's 20
22:52 Pine I can't quite remember where 20
22:55 Exchange was I think it's around the
22:57 corner
22:59 a blocker
23:07 two wow bunch of people hanging out
23:09 thanks for hanging out so uh for those
23:12 of you that are newly joined I was the I
23:16 just went and got my IE scann for my
23:18 world ID if you don't know what that is
23:21 go to world coin.org
23:23 and it's Sam
23:26 alman's second little startup
23:29 to create a system for verified humans
23:31 and payments and things like
23:37 that yeah the architecture is amazing
23:39 isn't it look at that one I love that
23:50 building that's another one that's
23:53 amazing okay so
23:57 see okay can't really see
23:59 it there's the tippy top of 20
24:02 Exchange back
24:09 there there's Wall
24:12 Street the stock exchange down there I
24:16 need a potato canes I know right I know
24:20 heart heart heart many hearts I
24:22 know this is
24:24 uh this is bringing back good memories
24:28 this is amazing working down
24:36 here if you haven't been to New York
24:38 these scaffolding are just they're like
24:41 part of the part of the architecture is
24:43 just everything's always under
24:52 construction okay I'm hot
24:55 now in case it's not obvious I'm a fan
24:57 of the Earth air conditioning how was
25:00 the wait time for the scanning oh so so
25:02 the scanning thing I know there was all
25:04 that uh that talk of long lines that
25:08 must have been at the popular locations
25:11 because I was at
25:13 uh I went to this place called The Grove
25:16 and I'm like oh this is going to be some
25:17 fancy hipster thing no it was just a
25:20 clothing store they had one orb there
25:23 and two women that were like yeah we
25:24 don't know much about this but you can
25:26 stick your eye right there if you want
25:27 to so I just walked up to it and my uh
25:31 software had screwed up so I reinstalled
25:32 that and then it
25:34 worked stuck my eye on the thing or not
25:36 on it you just look at it and at one
25:39 point I had to open my eyes wide because
25:41 I guess I was a little sleepy because
25:42 I've been up till 3 in the morning and
25:44 then uh a little white light sort of
25:49 circled around the thing and then it
25:50 said okay after it it verified my
25:54 uniqueness as a
25:55 human I uh I got my ID and I just posted
26:00 a video to it to the channel so you can
26:02 see what the ID looks like it's pretty
26:04 cool little
26:06 nft that's a cool
26:08 building off in the distance you can't
26:11 see it but it's
26:21 cool winding my way to 20 Exchange
26:27 Place is this New York City yes this is
26:30 New York
26:31 City I am down we were just at the uh
26:35 911 memorial looking at the footprints
26:38 of the
26:39 towers and I was down in the subway
26:41 station there where they have all the
26:42 shops that's where I got my that's where
26:44 they had the orb where I got my ey scan
26:47 for my world
26:50 ID look the colors on that building
26:54 that's
26:57 nuts
27:00 [Applause]
27:02 look a big old ConEd truck doesn't it
27:04 look like you know it's like the the uh
27:07 the feds are in there right getting
27:10 ready to do a
27:12 Shakedown so here's Wall
27:16 Street
27:18 and hang on that building popping out
27:21 right there above 53 wall that's 20
27:26 Exchange that's where my offices were
27:30 there's the Trinity Church down there
27:33 come on
27:34 phone it doesn't like these varied
27:37 lighting conditions see the steeple of
27:39 the Trinity Church down
27:42 there beautiful
27:47 stunning lots of people the people
27:55 Rock I got to change my glasses
28:03 um there there's my bag I just knocked
28:13 down all
28:17 right that view I know what do you think
28:21 about nfts are they dead or just
28:23 beginning um hey lunar stick what's
28:26 happening um
28:28 I think
28:30 the crypto
28:32 Bros have earned a Welles a well
28:36 deserved timeout sitting in the corner
28:38 they need to shut the [ __ ] up and go sit
28:42 in the corner until they can figure out
28:43 how to not to rip people off all the
28:45 time but that said one of the reasons I
28:49 went and
28:50 got my ey scan is that I do think some
28:54 sort of tokenization whether it's
28:56 blockchain or some other
28:58 technology for doing things like
29:01 verifying if you're human or not
29:03 verifying if content is original or not
29:06 I think it's actually going to become
29:08 really critical in not that long an
29:11 amount of
29:12 time and uh so I think that AI is
29:16 actually going to drive the adoption of
29:18 blockchain and it's there's going to be
29:19 a use case for it that everyone's going
29:21 to understand and they're going to be
29:23 like oh yeah I need to know that that's
29:25 the real deal Okay so God this is a
29:28 beautiful building so this is 20
29:31 Exchange Place this
29:34 is yeah I'll I'll show you so now
29:38 leasing like like all uh commercial real
29:40 estate right now they're probably
29:42 struggling but that's 20 Exchange plates
29:44 so that's where our offices were so we
29:47 had the top three floors of the big
29:51 section and then one floor on the 50th
29:55 floor um
29:58 and right in here is where this was the
30:00 main entrance to the bank these are the
30:01 City Bank
30:02 headquarters and I don't know if you can
30:04 see it I I'll show you that before this
30:06 is the City Bank headquarters and you
30:08 walk in there there's the the old marble
30:10 teller booths are in there and the
30:13 uh the the giant safe the stainless
30:17 steel safe is in
30:21 there and then on the corner in that
30:23 brick
30:25 building the ground floor is a
30:28 restaurant called Del monos if you've
30:30 ever heard of a Del Monaco steak that's
30:32 what it's named for that restaurant
30:34 right there so whenever we went a big
30:37 piece of business we'd come down here
30:39 and have some meaty
30:42 goodness so here's the kind of backside
30:44 of 20
30:46 Exchange just crazy streets down
30:50 here and if you
30:52 see so this is the back entrance I don't
30:55 know what street this is this is Beaver
30:57 Street if you see those two flag poles
31:00 when we were on our Heyday those two
31:02 flag poles had agency.com flags hanging
31:05 down from him that was some pretty
31:07 headyy
31:09 [ __ ] walking around down here and seeing
31:12 your your logo on a building pretty
31:17 cool ancient history at this point
31:26 boy
31:29 okay I gotta get out of the Sun the
31:31 shade's okay the Sun not
31:39 okay all right let's
31:42 see all right what are people asking
31:44 here um I want to do the I scan you can
31:48 do the I
31:49 scan in the states in New York Miami and
31:52 San Francisco right now I mean the fact
31:55 that I just did it it was like in a a
31:57 clothing store I don't know that there's
31:59 a
32:00 reason why you wouldn't do it um why
32:04 don't they won't have it everywhere
32:05 maybe they just don't have enough of the
32:06 orbs
32:08 built the orb is also a lot less
32:10 mysterious than I thought it would be
32:13 it's just kind of piece of plexiglass
32:14 with a couple of fencers on
32:17 it but I'll show you so I'm just walking
32:20 around the building here this is It's a
32:21 triangular building 20
32:23 Exchange
32:25 so our floors
32:27 [Music]
32:29 were I think they were 11,000 square ft
32:32 each and they were triangular so we had
32:34 like three Each corner was a different
32:37 team of like 25 to 30 people but look at
32:40 those
32:41 signs aren't those
32:43 amazing that was like from back in the
32:50 day I feel like that
32:53 building wait what that is the star of
32:56 every movie with a bankr well yeah cuz
32:58 it was the it was the City Bank
33:05 headquarters I
33:07 mean this is where we walked into work
33:10 every day that was
33:12 cool all right I'm gonna Meander my
33:16 Meander my way back to
33:22 Monique all right I thought this was a
33:25 game at first yeah this is this is Grand
33:28 Theft New York City New Jack City yeah
33:32 wow come
33:39 on Daddy needs a
33:42 soda daddy
33:46 thirsty all right what do we got
33:50 here um they don't bu make buildings
33:53 like that anymore no they don't they
33:54 don't at all look at that [ __ ] thing
33:58 those
33:59 little Nubs that stick out at the top of
34:02 that those are all
34:05 faces and it's amazing is like
34:08 magnificent as this building is if you
34:11 look at a
34:12 Skyline of lower Manhattan you can
34:15 barely recognize it it's just a teeny
34:16 little insignificant building in the in
34:20 the
34:21 mix this is very New
34:26 York
34:33 lunch
34:37 Anyone it's funny you know when I when I
34:41 lived here and actually this is like
34:44 there's just something about this bag
34:45 just sitting here that's there's
34:48 something like really poetic and
34:49 artistic about that so a lot of my
34:52 photography when I lived in New York was
34:54 just shooting [ __ ] like that but I found
34:57 beautiful that you know thousand people
35:00 just walked
35:12 by another nice entrance to a building I
35:15 don't know that
35:17 building broad
35:20 exchange it's pretty
35:25 beautiful 50 5
35:41 exchange my pfp is
35:44 trash get another
35:47 one I've got I've got one good
35:52 nft
35:53 and well no I've
35:56 got
35:57 I've got one decently valuable
36:00 nft and a companion one there's the
36:02 stock
36:04 exchange and then I have like I don't
36:07 know 150 just garbage nfts that are not
36:12 worth [ __ ] never will
36:16 be
36:18 but that's I mean you know it's funny
36:21 like the the nft thing the blockchain
36:23 thing the AI
36:26 thing
36:28 for me as I start to get my head around
36:31 these
36:32 Technologies
36:35 and it's like I feel like you gotta you
36:38 got to play with them enough to figure
36:40 them
36:41 out and what happened with with me with
36:44 blockchain and nfts was I really
36:47 liked the core
36:50 technology but then every time I looked
36:52 into a project they just all seemed like
36:55 they were full of [ __ ]
36:57 and what happened with the AI stuff is
37:01 the more I looked into it the more
37:03 remarkable it
37:05 became and
37:08 so you know my experience down here with
37:12 agency.com
37:14 being right next to that
37:19 place
37:24 was that's pretty cool
37:28 um that's why I'm so into this stuff
37:30 because it's like holy [ __ ] this is
37:32 another one of those this is one of
37:33 those it's got that it's got that
37:35 possibility and
37:37 so I think it's
37:56 important it's CUO cucko
38:05 cuckoo a dollar
38:08 keychain good Lord what a
38:13 bargain sorry switching
38:15 hands switching hands I might not make
38:19 it
38:20 fellas just another day to the top of
38:22 the
38:24 Himalayas we're going to be good
38:28 there's Trinity Church again we're a
38:30 block closer to it or two blocks closer
38:32 to it than what I showed it
38:35 before come on get this guy you can do
38:38 it come on Apple you can do it there you
38:42 go that's pretty
38:46 stunning hey Monique if you're still
38:48 listening just put put the address where
38:50 you are in here and I'll just walk to
38:56 it
39:02 let's see descriptions are the way
39:05 forward decentralized avatars with
39:09 capability to run programs
39:12 yep I would agree with
39:15 that I think apple is going to be the
39:18 one that shows the way but they've
39:23 disappointed us
39:24 before look at that [ __ ] God
39:27 that's
39:28 gorgeous I don't know there's just
39:29 something about these buildings down
39:31 here that are you know what it is
39:33 they're just so
39:35 handmade you know it's not just the
39:37 steel and glass
39:38 [ __ ] like those bricks were all
39:45 laid 139 Fon
39:51 wait Monique oh 139 F but it's really
39:54 off Broadway so go to 222 Broadway okay
39:57 okay cool what's it
40:15 called all
40:17 right I got to get a water I got I got I
40:22 got I gotta get I'm not going to make it
40:25 I'm not going to make it ouch
40:32 because we didn't rent a car we're both
40:35 dragging our bags around like The
40:38 Peasants that we
40:41 are I'm getting a Manny now so I can't
40:43 type anymore must be
40:46 nice must be nice
40:49 partner first the petty now the Manny
40:53 damn and I'm just out here being a
40:55 humble little tour guy
41:05 28
41:06 Liberty it's funny I
41:09 remember yeah see that sculpture you
41:12 probably can't see it just beyond that
41:14 one way sign way down
41:17 there I remember meeting some guy like
41:21 talking about a business deal down there
41:23 it's funny what comes back to you in the
41:24 city like you have these little moments
41:26 that just get etched in your brain and
41:29 you walk by a location it's like bang in
41:31 it instantly comes
41:34 back
41:41 amazing now we're back into steel and
41:45 glass
41:48 land and there's that
41:50 sculpture I showed
41:53 earlier next to the big square one with
41:55 the hole in it the
41:57 cube look more nondescript bags just
42:00 hanging out waiting to be
42:04 photographed turn
42:08 around
42:10 that that
42:12 building that's 28
42:17 Liberty I need that brake fluid pressure
42:20 sensor wait where was the brake fluid
42:22 pressure
42:24 sensor I'll [ __ ] get it for
42:27 you where did you see
42:33 that turn
42:36 around just back around the corner here
42:39 what are you doing in New York I'm here
42:42 one of our Pharma clients wants to meet
42:44 to talk
42:45 about
42:47 um Story vine what we do and then our
42:50 vision
42:52 for
42:55 um our vision for AI we've got three
42:58 potential
43:00 Pilots that we're talking about with our
43:03 client
43:05 tomorrow and then we have a two-hour
43:08 meeting on Tuesday with the same company
43:10 for a completely different
43:13 project I don't see a
43:17 break oh I need that part out of that
43:19 Ford oh yeah
43:23 sorry I'm not I'm not stripping cars for
43:26 you I'll pick it up if it's on the
43:27 ground I don't mind dumpster diving what
43:30 I'm not stripping cars for you first of
43:33 all I don't have the
43:34 tools oh this old
43:37 Ford I have a feeling the pressure
43:40 sensor in that thing has seen its better
43:43 day that is a very New York
43:48 truck street street F okay there's a
43:53 photograph Street Fair vendor no ticket
43:55 I wonder if that works
43:56 [Laughter]
43:58 the cops like oh that's [ __ ]
44:00 hilarious there Bob what do you think
44:02 Street Fair vender no ticket should we
44:03 give him no ticket how about you tell
44:05 him to go [ __ ] himself I like that let's
44:07 give him a
44:11 ticket
44:14 oh is this vir is this a virtual
44:18 presence device this is this is AI this
44:21 is or ar actual
44:23 reality this is an actual reality uh
44:32 game good luck with your meetings
44:34 tomorrow thank you very much I'm coming
44:37 from autonome oh AutoZone no part yeah
44:40 sorry about that here's another eal line
44:42 up
44:44 ahead um good luck with your
44:49 meetings [ __ ] Sheldon coer virtual
44:52 presence device it is there's here's
44:55 what we're going to get your part from
44:58 huh this thing came all the way from M
45:02 Wisconsin this has been in the city for
45:04 a few years that's [ __ ]
45:08 awesome I mean tell me that's not a
45:10 [ __ ]
45:13 photograph all right Daddy needs a
45:22 drink is that
45:25 thing
45:34 is this Broadway
45:53 yes oh they're not here
46:04 let's go you got Gatorade
46:24 Gatorade how's it going
46:50 thanks
46:53 buddy hoo h h
46:57 all right I got blue
47:00 Gatorade I'm close to
47:02 Monique all is going to be right with
47:04 the
47:06 world she's going to have doed up hands
47:08 and doed up
47:18 toes all right let me pause for a second
47:20 here and get some get some fluid in
47:25 me
47:32 all right what's everyone saying
47:36 here oh my yeah that van that van was
47:39 special stay hydrated I'm doing that
47:41 right now any predictions what I I will
47:43 be like in a year's time I'll talk about
47:45 that in a second is this New York City
47:48 yes is that waterf free yeah all the
47:50 water you can find on the in the puddles
47:52 on the street is free everything else is
47:55 $5 oh although this uh Gatorade was only
47:57 $2 which I think it's cheaper than it is
47:59 in
48:00 Denver I was expecting it to be four or
48:03 five and it
48:04 wasn't
48:08 so this this is one of the big buildings
48:11 that this building had damage on it on
48:13 911 but it survived it was just kind of
48:16 superficial damage but everything else
48:21 got taken out that building's really
48:25 beautiful
48:36 oh no it wasn't a water machine it was
48:38 just one of these street meat
48:47 vendors all right that feels
48:51 better got a little fluids got a little
48:55 electrolytes we're moving
49:09 on it's cool you're all hanging out with
49:12 me I hope this isn't too boring I never
49:14 find New York boring I mean whether it's
49:17 the
49:17 people or
49:21 the
49:22 cabs or the
49:25 buildings or the hustle and the
49:28 bustle there's just something about
49:31 it there is just something about it all
49:36 right this is 150 she said
49:40 222 so I think I'm going in the right
49:49 direction
49:55 yes
49:56 oh someone asked about AI in a year hang
50:00 on what did you
50:05 ask sad when Gatorade is cheaper than
50:07 water rainwater and oxygen will be
50:09 charged in the future yeah for sure
50:12 greatest city in the world I totally
50:15 agree um where was that
50:17 question any predictions on what AI is
50:21 like in a year's
50:22 time
50:24 um a year I feel like I can
50:27 do um this is not Time Square we're down
50:30 at um we're down the
50:34 91 Ground Zero is essentially right down
50:37 that block oh wait you can't see
50:41 it right down
50:43 there so I'm on Broadway so we're like
50:46 two blocks over from from where the
50:49 World Trade Centers were the Twin
50:52 Towers
50:54 um where you heading to right now I'm
50:56 just headed to um meet my business
51:01 partner
51:02 Monique who is getting a Manny Petty it
51:04 started out as just a petty and then she
51:07 added the Manny because she knows how to
51:09 live and I just decided I would like to
51:12 sweat for the next hour so I walked down
51:15 to my old where my uh my old agency used
51:19 to be
51:20 housed at 20 Exchange Place and we
51:23 looked at that did a tour of that and
51:24 now I'm just kind of walking back
51:26 um and then at some point here we're
51:28 going to hop in an Uber and head on over
51:32 to Scenic New Jersey oh
51:36 yeah tell what's one Bob you've won a
51:40 trip to Trenton New Jersey it's going to
51:42 be fantastic you're G to love
51:44 it all right I'd love to meet I work in
51:47 the city oh cool um I'm back
51:52 tomorrow tomorrow we're in j JY at this
51:56 Pharma client and then
52:00 Tuesday I'm going to be back in the city
52:02 and I think we only have
52:04 one one meeting so I could potentially
52:06 meet so just DM me who is
52:09 that
52:11 B all right
52:14 b um yeah just DM me and uh I think our
52:18 hotel
52:20 is near Time
52:24 Square
52:28 so stomping ground chaos generation I
52:31 know oh look at that that's oh you can't
52:33 see it I wish this thing would oh wait
52:35 maybe I can tap it hang on let me see if
52:38 I can tap
52:42 for come on it's not letting me do it
52:46 ah come on see the sky see this guy
52:50 little
52:52 camera well down at the end of that
52:54 street that's the
52:56 uh one of The Monuments that thing that
52:58 looks like a big seagull
53:02 wing all right what address am I
53:06 at oh she said she was on Fulton okay I
53:09 know where I am all
53:11 right oh back to the question of pred
53:14 prediction for AI in a year
53:16 listen I got ADHD to begin with plus I'm
53:19 walking around New York City tried to
53:21 take in all this [ __ ] and talk at the
53:23 same time I got distracted I'll give you
53:25 that
53:27 okay in a
53:31 year open AI will have their [ __ ]
53:34 together like open AI right now is has
53:37 kind of stagnated because I think
53:38 they're dealing with a lot of lawsuits
53:40 and cutting deals is my
53:42 guess
53:45 um they just released this thing called
53:47 GPT
53:49 bot um which people are going to be able
53:51 to opt into and opt out of and that
53:54 means that I think that means that chat
53:58 GPT will no longer have like a a time
54:02 stamp or it'll be much more up to date
54:04 because they'll just be constantly
54:06 running that bot and updating [ __ ] um
54:09 that may not be true but I think that
54:11 that that's what that looks like
54:14 their
54:17 um their trademark registration for gp5
54:21 talked about gp5 doing um voice to text
54:28 and uh text to voice
54:32 synthesis and it already does it already
54:34 reads images and they've already got
54:37 Dolly so my my gut is that a year from
54:42 now GPT 5 will be out it will be truly
54:46 multimodal um so you'll be able to just
54:48 very very quickly bounce
54:51 between you know making images making
54:53 text writing copy for the image you know
54:56 creating a soundtrack for that things
54:57 like that it'll probably be early but I
54:59 think it's going to be truly
55:01 multimodal it's kind of a cool little
55:05 spot
55:08 um Apple will have launched whatever
55:11 their AI is going to
55:12 be that will likely change things
55:15 because I consumer grade yet and none of
55:17 it's really business ready yet so
55:19 Microsoft will have rolled out co-pilot
55:23 into Office
55:24 365 Google will have rolled out Bard
55:27 into off into their office suite Apple
55:30 will have their offering Amazon will
55:32 probably have some dramatically
55:35 glorified
55:37 Alexa
55:39 um let me
55:42 see oh there's 222 bro let me
55:48 see oh there's 222
55:51 Broadway all right Monique somewhere
55:53 down there all right I'm on the corner
55:55 of Broadway and F Monique so whenever
55:58 you get out I'll just be sitting out
56:00 here I love those little ice cream
56:02 trucks um so I think a year from now
56:07 um businesses will be taking this
56:10 seriously some Industries will start to
56:13 see pretty de devastating
56:18 layoffs people that are learning AI now
56:22 will have a lot of opportunity I think
56:23 there's going to be a lot of demand for
56:25 people that know how to do this [ __ ] at
56:27 any level and and not even you know know
56:31 how to do AI just know how to use AI
56:33 tools to do whatever it is you do I
56:36 think that's going to be something
56:37 that's in
56:38 demand um some people are really excited
56:41 about it it was really easy to make fun
56:44 of there were a handful of companies
56:46 dipping their toe in the water you
56:49 know punks like us that started an
56:52 agency could land Fortune 500 clients
56:55 because we could spell HTML so I kind of
56:58 feel like that's what we're in here but
57:00 I think rather than it
57:01 taking 3 years to really start to Hype
57:05 up I think by this time next year it'll
57:08 probably be like 98 99 was with the
57:11 worldwide
57:12 web where where it was just starting to
57:14 get really
57:15 frothy so the the dotom bubble was in
57:20 200,000 and and so 97 98 99 it it was
57:25 just stupid I had I had three different
57:28 employees within a one month period walk
57:30 into my office and quit because they've
57:32 been given 10 or2 million to start some
57:35 stupid.com
57:37 business and so it just got it just got
57:40 silly like that and so I think the AI
57:42 stuff's you know it's it's not quite
57:44 there yet but this time next year it's
57:46 going to be stupid it's going to be
57:48 insane um and it's going to start
57:50 affecting a lot of businesses and a lot
57:51 of people and that's going to suck and I
57:53 think that suck is going to last
57:57 for two years three years and then it'll
58:00 start to normalize it'll start to see
58:02 new jobs and hopefully within five years
58:04 it starts to look
58:06 better but yeah I don't know that's it
58:09 that's all 1,000%
58:14 speculation um this was the church that
58:16 was closest to 911 this one this one
58:19 also was all of those fences around it
58:22 were just full of people's posters for
58:24 their loved ones
58:27 and and if you just keep walking that
58:29 way you end up in Time Square this is
58:31 Broadway so this is the great
58:35 lightway go to the corner oh wait go to
58:37 the corner of nasau and Fon where's
58:48 nasau anthropic is really close
58:54 to
58:56 to catching up to them
59:00 um Google's got to be spending a boat
59:04 load apple apple
59:07 apparently has spent the bulk of their
59:11 24.6 million or billion dollar research
59:14 budget they have a $24 billion research
59:18 budget they've apparently spent most of
59:21 that on generative
59:23 AI so
59:30 if if if Sam
59:32 can can focus open
59:36 Ai and M Microsoft doesn't find a way to
59:39 screw it up uh than
59:43 possibly but I think that this time next
59:48 year open Ai and chat GPT will be one of
59:52 three major players and they may or may
59:55 not be on
59:56 top
59:58 um I think there will probably be more
1:00:01 like 10 or 12 players competing but
1:00:04 probably by a year from now we we'll
1:00:07 know
1:00:09 that we'll we'll know the three that are
1:00:12 the the real major players is my guess
1:00:15 and I think open AI will be in that
1:00:18 mix um all right where are you Monique
1:00:22 I'm at the corner go to 139 Fon and then
1:00:26 walk North on
1:00:28 NASA fine what's it
1:00:32 called coh oh that's right coh's coming
1:00:35 you've got inflection that just raised $
1:00:36 1.3 billion dollar so you know they've
1:00:39 got their little pie bot right now which
1:00:41 is super conversational that's going to
1:00:43 turn into a full-fledged
1:00:46 agent
1:00:52 um so yeah so there's there's players I
1:00:55 bet Monique's in there there she
1:00:59 is look at Mo'Nique can you see her in
1:01:01 there getting a
1:01:03 petty she'd wave but she
1:01:10 can't oh that's funny that's my business
1:01:13 partner we have been business partners
1:01:16 for 11 and a half
1:01:18 years she's the best so what we what we
1:01:22 talk about our relationship is I'm the
1:01:25 hand wavy guy she keeps the trains
1:01:27 running on
1:01:28 time and so it's a it's a very
1:01:32 good it's a very good balance right we
1:01:34 each have very different skills it's
1:01:36 taking us a while to learn how to talk
1:01:38 to each other because we look at the
1:01:40 world through very different
1:01:41 lenses but
1:01:45 um but she's a great partner and we're
1:01:48 going to go kick ass tomorrow damn
1:01:51 it we're going to go to this big farmer
1:01:54 we're going to be like we're small but
1:01:55 we're Mighty and you're going to give us
1:01:57 Bo loads of money oh leave your luggage
1:02:00 here silly oh yeah see this is why she's
1:02:03 my
1:02:07 partner see I knew there was the reason
1:02:10 I brought her along on this
1:02:14 trip she's she very often serves as my
1:02:20 brain oh good
1:02:22 lord it's Monique and Tech as well yeah
1:02:25 she and I are co-founders of Story vine
1:02:26 which is a an automated video
1:02:29 storytelling platform so neither of us
1:02:32 are
1:02:33 Engineers they're both business people
1:02:36 and marketers
1:02:38 and
1:02:45 such yeah I know so we got to go well
1:02:48 here let's let's see if they approve of
1:02:50 your
1:02:51 colors say hi Monique hello
1:02:55 where can I put
1:02:58 this
1:03:04 okay yeah there's a there's a delay it's
1:03:08 got to go up to
1:03:13 space all right I think I'll take my
1:03:16 Gatorade all right I'll just be my
1:03:18 anding
1:03:23 about
1:03:28 is in the calendar all
1:03:31 right what's
1:03:33 that
1:03:36 okay all right hang on I'm gonna go
1:03:39 pause for a second because I got to go
1:03:41 look something up tap the hearts on the
1:03:43 screen if I'm back I think I'm
1:03:48 back delegating is an underrated
1:03:51 skill Perfect Color Dr J Dr Dr J loves
1:03:55 the color Mo'Nique yeah it was a nice it
1:03:56 was a really nice pink uh Dr J likes it
1:04:00 is Monique in Tech as well all right so
1:04:02 let's we'll just tool around she's got
1:04:04 10 minutes to dry so we can I think I'll
1:04:06 walk back down to uh back down to Ground
1:04:10 Zero because it's just so beautiful down
1:04:12 there that's the Freedom Tower off in
1:04:14 the distance there that big
1:04:16 tall that big tall
1:04:19 building how did I meet
1:04:21 Monique
1:04:23 um
1:04:27 um Mo'Nique and I met so we both knew
1:04:30 this guy named Jerry mulski and he was
1:04:34 a he was a like a tech futurist guy from
1:04:40 the 80s and 90s in New York City he
1:04:42 worked for a a magazine called release
1:04:44 1.0 Esther
1:04:46 Dyson's Tech newsletter that was pretty
1:04:49 famous back in the day he was the
1:04:50 managing editor I think there and then
1:04:53 he went off on his own and started this
1:04:55 thing called Jerry's Retreat which was
1:04:57 just he would invite people that he had
1:05:00 what he called an aha moment someone
1:05:02 that he just you know had a good
1:05:04 conversation with and then every year
1:05:06 would have these these meetings and so
1:05:08 we met at one of
1:05:09 those and
1:05:11 then we stayed in touch and she
1:05:14 started a marketing agency and I was
1:05:17 advising her on
1:05:19 that and so because I was advising her I
1:05:23 knew that that thing was coming to an
1:05:26 end um and uh I knew I wanted to start
1:05:30 Story vine so I called her up and I said
1:05:34 I'm thinking of moving out to Boulder
1:05:36 and you know what's your take on that
1:05:37 and she gave me she was the only one
1:05:39 that gave me honest
1:05:41 advice about Boulder in Denver which was
1:05:44 very much
1:05:46 appreciated um because everyone else was
1:05:48 like oh it's great it's fantastic it's
1:05:50 shangra LA and she actually told me what
1:05:52 the scheme was and it was it's really
1:05:54 accurate
1:05:55 and then
1:05:57 um she didn't know what the hell I was
1:05:59 talking
1:06:00 about but she went and talked to a bunch
1:06:03 of people that's really cool she went
1:06:06 and talked to a bunch of people and they
1:06:09 all said that they thought that that
1:06:10 looked
1:06:12 good
1:06:16 and and uh she called me up and said I
1:06:19 still don't know what you're talking
1:06:21 about but I'm in let's do this and so
1:06:23 that was in May May of 2012 is when we
1:06:25 kicked off story
1:06:27 M so it has been a while enjoy Barbie
1:06:31 Monique oh yeah she's doing oh wait
1:06:33 let's let's see I'm not a pink gal but
1:06:35 I'm going to see the the Barbie

1:07:06 church that's right next
1:07:08 to the World Trade Center this was not
1:07:12 harmed at
1:07:18 all this crazy
1:07:21 ancient ancient history and then right
1:07:24 now next to it is just all this
1:07:26 Modern Glass and steel
1:07:29 and beautiful
1:07:32 huh like those old rod iron
1:07:35 fences something isn't
1:07:38 [Music]
1:07:41 it I think seen it's better
1:07:50 day go to the Irish famine Memorial
1:07:54 I don't know where that is is that
1:07:57 nearby I'm just going to probably do a
1:07:59 quick little spin because Monique's got
1:08:01 to be done shortly here and then she and
1:08:04 I need to get in
1:08:06 a a car and
1:08:08 motor look how beautiful that is come on
1:08:12 people you think AI is
1:08:15 cool look at that goddamn thing
1:08:21 Jesus in fact I'm going to go this way
1:08:24 cuz the view the view of the center of
1:08:26 this thing is even even more
1:08:45 pretty two blocks from the World Trade
1:08:47 Center all right I'll check that out oh
1:08:50 toward the Hudson okay yeah I'll check
1:08:52 that
1:08:53 out
1:08:55 so so so this

1:09:01 basically the subway entrance for
1:09:05 this for this
1:09:08 [Music]

1:09:12 Tower in the
1:09:14 distance look at that
