60. 11:59producers and um Andrew reminded me that that the first time I talked to him about it, I said, "Hey, Andrew, I'm writing a Broadway musical,
61. 12:12which which is, you know, it's a little ballsy. It's a little ballsy. You don't just write a Broadway musical. You write
62. 12:19a musical and then you hope maybe the Pikipsy Community Theater will put on some version of it at some point 10
63. 12:26years from now. But I'm like I'm north of 40. So I'm like [ __ ] it. I'm just going to do it. Anyway,
64. 12:34one of the artifacts that I created for for the show like two years ago was I I created a notebook LM podcast of the
65. 12:44show and then I cut in visuals and cut in um songs. And so the producers actually really liked that format. So they wanted a
66. 12:54little bit shorter and I obviously need to update it. We're on our we're on a third version of the story. Um and we've
67. 12:59got a bunch of new songs now. We want it to be more song ccentric. So what I'm going to try to do tonight is or not
68. 13:06tonight. What I'm going to try to do with the podcast is really creative direct notebook LM to give me exactly what I want, which I
69. 13:15don't know if it's possible. So that could be something we could explore tonight. Oh man. Alive. Um, you know where hell is? Michigan. Yeah,

82. 15:12you're like, "Wait, if I do the math right, that's 12 hours." That's just Friday. So, it's 12 hours of AI education, entertainment,
83. 15:24talks, insights. You're going to love it. It's amazing. And then Saturday, it's slightly different. It starts at
84. 15:329:00 a.m. and it goes till 900 p.m. on Saturday. The difference is it's on Saturday. So, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
85. 15:39Friday, 9:00 am to 9:00 p.m. Saturday. And I know you're going, okay, at 20 bucks an hour for each session, that's 240.

112. 20:03knew. Okay, I knew that. But I was in New York and it was early and I had a meeting coming up. I think I had a podcast I had to do.
113. 20:16So, I only had like two and a half hours to kill. So, I was going to go to Cats's Deli, right? Get a kesh, get a Reuben,
114. 20:23get a a corn beef, whatever I was going to get. I was going to go spend $38 for a sandwich and and point at the table where uh Meg
115. 20:33Ryan did her her fake orgasm in when Mary Harry met Sally and go, "All right, I that's where they filmed that scene
116. 20:40like everyone does when they walk in there." So, I was going to do that, but I didn't have time. But it was early and
117. 20:47I hadn't had coffee and I'm like, "Okay, I'll go to Carnegie Deli." So I Google Carnegi Delhi and what I find is like
118. 20:53five different CargI diners and I'm like, "Wait, wasn't Carnegie Deli on 57th?" And I was like, "Ah, [ __ ] it.
119. 21:00I'll just go. It's they probably just changed the name of it." So, I go to 57th Street, take the Q train to 57th
120. 21:08Street, and I I I look and it's the corner and it's some shitty diner and it's called Carnegi Diner and it's
121. 21:14there's a line out the door and I'm like, oh god. And so I Google it and it's like Carnegie Deli closed in 2016.
122. 21:22I was like, right, [ __ ] So across the street was this thing called the Brooklyn Diner. So I go over and I'm
123. 21:29like, [ __ ] it. I just I'm hungry. I'll just go get something that's Brooklyn Diner and go back to my apartment.
124. 21:36So, I walk in and I'm like, "Do you have a seat for one? I got we got one chair left at the bar." And it's like behind
125. 21:42the soda fountain. There's like enough room for a plate about this big. I'm squeezed in. I start talking to the guy
126. 21:48to my left. He's he sells he rents jet engine jet airplanes to airline companies. He's been doing it for 40
127. 21:55years. He was not a nice human being. But for whatever reason, I'm telling him about my my musical. I'm like, I'm in
128. 22:03New York. I'm I'm, you know, I've written a musical and I'm meeting with producers. He could he could not have given less
129. 22:10shits. He he was drinking a ginonic. He was tipping the cooks $100 and he was just a douche. So So whatever. So I'm
130. 22:20telling him about my musical. He's like, "Ah, I sell airplanes. I'm really good at it." I'm like, "Cool. I gave my wife
131. 22:25$40 million. I'm like, "Hey, we only need $20 million for a musical." So, so, so there's this this skinny old dude
132. 22:41at the end of the, you know, around the corner of the bar and he, you know, he's eavesdropping cuz like we're all [ __ ]
133. 22:46packed in. You can't not hear anyone. And he and he looks at me and he goes, "It looks like we're in the same business, son."
134. 22:57And I said I said, "What business is that?" And he goes, "You wrote a musical." I'm a I write musicals. And uh
135. 23:04turns out the guy's name was my Yellen, and he's a Tony Award-winning lyricist and composer. Um and we just had we had
136. 23:13a grand old talk. We talked for 10 or 15 minutes and he was like, "Sounds great." You know, great story. Um, I'll help you
137. 23:20in any way I can. And it was just a really cool New York moment. So, you just never know in New York who you're going to run into.
138. 23:30Oh, man. Half an airplane. Yeah. The airplane guy was a trip. Oh, so not only did the airplane guy, you know, was
139. 23:38drinking gin and tonics at 9:30 in the morning and, you know, tipping everyone how much he was tipping them like like
140. 23:44the the cook $100. The waiter who got his drink wrong six times gave him $100 and then he he walked out on his tab. He didn't pay his tab.
141. 23:55They're like, "Did that guy pay?" I don't know. He's your customer. We We assume he did, but he didn't. He stiffed him.
142. 24:06Oh man, did he give you at least 10 million though? Not yet. I didn't get his name. He wouldn't give me his name,
143. 24:11but he took my card. The the airplane dude. Listen, man. If he gives me $20 million, if he gives me $10 million for
144. 24:18my show, he is no longer a douchebag. He is a patron of the arts. Oh, man. All right. Um, what is this AI
145. 24:29festivist? Reminds me of the Seinfeld Festivus. So what it is Jam Wonder AI festivist we we started it last year
146. 24:37and it like it was really just a tongue-in-cheek thing because um last year so two years ago Ann Murphy and I um decided that
147. 24:49we weren't busy enough and and there was there was a weekend in between the holidays and New Year where we weren't
148. 24:56doing anything. So, we thought, why not fill that space with a 24-hour uh custom GPT buildathon? So, so two years ago, we did GPT for
149. 25:07good where people from our communities came together and built GPTs for nonprofits. And so, last year, um it was
150. 25:14like two weeks, it was like right now. It was it it was this day last year. Um I forget who reached out to who, but we
151. 25:21connected two weeks from that same weekend and we said, "Should we do something?" And we started brainstorming
152. 25:27and we're kicking things around. We thought, "What if we just do like a different speaker every hour for 24
153. 25:33hours?" And then and then an Ann was like, "I don't want to do 24 hours in a row again. Can we take a break?" I'm
154. 25:40like, "Okay, how about if we do 12 hours on Friday and 12 hours on Saturday?" She's like, "Cool." And then, so I think I threw out the
155. 25:48name AI Festivus because it was AI Festivus, AI for the rest of us, right? Ah, you see um so AI for the rest of us. So, so Ann
156. 25:59reached out to I think she asked 35 speakers for these 24 slots and she got 34 said yes. And so we ended up doing
157. 26:08panels. So this is the second year. So it's basically we go find people that we think are doing kick-ass stuff in AI and

178. 30:07I got one AI hater. Um, I basically said, "Why are AI haters so so lack so much imagination?" He got very defensive.
179. 30:22They do they do like imagination because they can't imagine what AI is other than it's bad. And that is a that's a lack of
180. 30:34imagination right there. Oh, Larry Ellison from Oracle. He's the guy that bought Tik Tok. Actually, it's his son,
181. 30:42David Ellison. Is it David Ellison? Dor Dor Dorfus? I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. Oracle owns all your data.
182. 30:56I'm sure they're not going to do anything bad with it. And I'm pretty sure that in the in the agreement is any
183. 31:02of your content can be used to train AI. So, what I'm assuming is happening is Oracle just got a massive massive data
184. 31:13set for for essentially free um along with their their purchase and I think they got 80% of the company or 80
185. 31:2280% they basically got the rights to the algorithm and and the software and then China keeps 20% and then they can use the data for
186. 31:32training AI. You know what's crazy? I have well had a friend in music part of my business that is mad because I use AI. Yeah. Well, listen.
187. 31:45Um there's a lot of people mad about AI right now and I have I have deep empathy for the fear.
188. 31:59Um because what's clear is AI is not going away and AI is going to change things and AI is going to take jobs.
189. 32:08But but I have less and less sympathy. I mean this has been three years now, right? It November 30th was the the
190. 32:15three-year anniversary of Chat GPT which I consider the beginning of the modern AI era, right? This is chat GPT is the
191. 32:24first technology that opened up the power of AI to non-programmers. basically, right? And that's why they
192. 32:31went from zero to 100 million users in six weeks. It was the fastest adoption of technology in history. They're now up
193. 32:38to close to a billion weekly users. I think it's 900 million or something like that. Um, and in fact, they're so
194. 32:45powerful. Check this out. This is insane. This is [ __ ] bonkers. So, Disney is famous famous for they will sue a [ __ ] five-year-old. If a
195. 32:565-year-old draws Mickey Mouse and makes a YouTube video out of it, Disney will sue the [ __ ] out of them. They are
196. 33:03famous for protecting their IP. Yesterday, they announced a deal with Open AI where in the Sora app, we're
197. 33:12going to be able to generate videos using Disney IP, right? And you're like, "Holy [ __ ] that's a big deal." How much
198. 33:21did Open AI pay them to be able to generate Disney characters and like the Marvel universe and all that [ __ ] How
199. 33:29much did Open AI pay for that? Disney paid Open AI a billion dollars to have access to the audience.
200. 33:44And so what's going to if you play out where this is headed right now, it's just going to look like video. But in
201. 33:512026, what we're going to start to see is these video models are going to evolve into world models. And so not
202. 33:58only will you create a video with people in the world, you'll be able to enter the world. So imagine
203. 34:07Sora goes from being an annoying Tik Tok AI video app to it becomes an entry into any world you can imagine and then you
204. 34:16can populate those worlds with all of the Disney characters, right? And so this is going to be the first in a
205. 34:22series of these deals because because Disney went first, everyone else is going to follow and they, you know,
206. 34:27they'll follow in different places. Everyone's going to try to do this. Um, but Disney's going to own all of the
207. 34:36content that's generated. They're going to own the worlds. They're going to own the IP. They're going to own the
208. 34:41stories. So, their customers are going to be generating new intellectual property for them. It's It's bonkers.
209. 34:52It's It's That's mind-blowing. It's mind-blowing. It's mind-blowing. I I mean, was a year and a half ago I came up with
210. 35:02an idea for a postcopyright content generation platform because what I'm thinking is even if you're Disney you can't police

277. 47:44doing it just for its own sake. Um and and that's where the big changes are happening. So, um, what I am kind of
278. 47:53waiting for like like the thing the thing where it will make a difference for me because all of the frontier companies right now
279. 48:01are racing to basically pin all of the um the benchmark tests at 100%. Right? they're all getting up in the 90s and
280. 48:09they they make new benchmarks and then they get up to 70s and so they're all they're all re you know reaching to to basically saturate those
281. 48:17benchmarks at 100% or higher. Um and then once they do that then they're going to come back down and start making
282. 48:27the models hallucinate less and be more autonomous. Like autonomous agents are going to go do work for you and it's
283. 48:34going to be really good. So, like what I'm waiting for is is for them to basically come back down the the giant
