35. 8:08like it enough that you have a Kevin mallister moment remember Home Alone that moment um so apparently Dr bod had one
36. 8:19on Saturday so I can't wait to hear what that was uh my buddy only points out the flaws there's a lot of people pointing
37. 8:26out the flaws right now it's uh it's it's amazing watching the people react to Sora that they're either pointing out
38. 8:33the flaws or they're basically like you people are [ __ ] evil it's ruining the world I'm leaving Society I actually I I
39. 8:41actually responded to a guy that basically said that and I said can you point to something specific that is as bad as you
40. 8:49say and he said yeah I've used it and it's all evil and it's it's unethical and it's going to [ __ ] everything up and
41. 8:55I said it just also might unfuck some things up but you know you UB [Laughter] you so that was interesting I know you shouldn't engage
42. 9:08with that sort of uh activity but I did sometimes I get a little spicy well you've seen that in here
43. 9:23H the cynicism I found a way of sorting out an exceptional timec consuming issue at work oh yeah I I'll tell you what when
44. 9:33you have when you have one of those things either when you want to have a tough conversation with someone or you've got something that's
45. 9:41particularly um complicated and then you realize oh let me go see if chat GPD can do that or whatever whatever tool you're
46. 9:48using and then then not only does it do it but it does it like that and it does it really well you're like oh [ __ ] I
47. 9:54guess I can go on a walk now whoa that lady that you said monetized her gpts I couldn't find her in the app
48. 10:05oh who was that lady um reach out to an Murphy on the AI in in the AI salon and ask her to connect you to I think it's Alyssa Alyssa's
49. 10:18mom so Alyssa is the one that said she made the money with affiliate links and and it's Alyssa's mom I forget Alyssa's mom's
50. 10:27name and I think it's but Ann Murphy will know so I don't know if you're in here an Murphy but if you are in here
51. 10:34Jason is looking for some connection any any recommendation on marketing a GPT I have some ideas on that actually yeah um
52. 10:53so so for those of you that don't know what a GPT is there's this thing called chat GPT which which uses a model called gp4 and
53. 11:03then to confuse this all even more they created these things called gpts which are customized personalized
54. 11:10versions of chat gbt that you can share you can train them on your own data you can they they're think of it like a
55. 11:17pre-written prompt with a bunch of extra [ __ ] in it that you can share and they and they can do really cool things
56. 11:27um and there's a couple of issues with them one of the issues with them is open AI promised us a GPT store which
57. 11:38they have technically delivered but them defining it as a store is being very generous to the word store um it's being very generous to the
58. 11:50letter s it is not a store it is barely a directory Kyle the back box analogy no no no no box analogies this early we'll do that later
59. 12:04um so one of the problems with the store is it's not a really good directory it's not it's not super discoverable the
60. 12:11other problem with the store well the other problem with gpts is they require people to have chat GPT plus the $20 a month
61. 12:23subscription and then they require they essentially require people to use chat GPT enough to know what to do with a
62. 12:31GPT so there's all your problems well no that's not all of your problems there's some of your problems you have a limited
63. 12:38audience that requires some specialized expertise to be able to take advantage of it and you have these remarkable
64. 12:45things that if they do take advantage of it it can do really cool stuff right so that's a good thing and it might be um
65. 12:53it might be uh marketing your business right there might be a call to action built into your your GPT that says says
66. 12:59hey if you like this and want more hire me or come to my store or whatever it might be so an idea that I had um I'm working
67. 13:08on a project with content Evolution right now where we're making professional profiles for members of this organization
68. 13:17and one of the things that we're talking about doing is recording videos of ourself using our own professional
69. 13:26profiles to sort of first of all I'll explain what it is so here I am logging into my you know my CE Professional
70. 13:34Profile of Kyle Shannon and let's see how it does and and I'll sort of explain what it does what it was trained on I'll
71. 13:42put in some sample questions I'll look at the answers I'll go o that really sounds like me that's kind of how I
72. 13:48would answer that or that doesn't really sound like me at all these gpts are janky but you should still try it anyway
73. 13:55right something like that I think those videos serve multiple purposes you can Market with them right put it on
74. 14:03LinkedIn make a little Tik Tock of it put it on reals put it wherever doesn't matter YouTube shorts um they serve as a couple of things
75. 14:13they're marketing your GPT but what they're also doing is teaching people what chat GPT is and how powerful it is
76. 14:20and what your GPT is and it might Inspire them to sign up for for chat GPT plus so they can actually use your thing so
77. 14:29um so so that's one and then like just with marketing everything like you just got to talk about it a lot you got to be
78. 14:35Shameless and plug it and make articles about it and talk about how you made it jow I'm an EMT and made an EMT study
79. 14:44buddy GPT yeah perfect that's awesome and again you know what what would be interesting is you know make a video of
80. 14:52of you as an EMT going into your study buddy and say you know here's why I made this here's the sort of pre-written
81. 14:59questions in it to get you started um here's the kinds of things you can do in it here's the kind of results it gives
82. 15:06you um and then share that with the world right because the the gpts themselves they don't have a lot of
83. 15:13context they kind of assume you know what to do and and and you can program them cleverly to help a little bit with
84. 15:22that but I think there's something about putting them out in the world that I I think could be a good
85. 15:27thing um the other thing I had a really good experience today with Gemini Advanced um which I'm which I'm paying for I'm
86. 15:41still apoplectic about the fact that as a paying business subscriber with a Google workplace account or whatever the [ __ ]
87. 15:51it's called I can't use Gemini Advanced that burns my biscuit but anyway I used it today and I used it for what I thought would be um a
88. 16:08competitive Advantage for it and it was really good so I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to kind of do a version of
89. 16:13what I did today for for myself I'll do some hypothetical thing but I'll show you what I did with it um because it was
90. 16:20pretty good it was pretty good um I'm trying to think if it was if it was as good as chat gp4 I would say it was in the
91. 16:36neighborhood and it was also in the neighborhood of how frustrating it was because what what's going on my
92. 16:47printer's all screwed up printer error occurred whatever um sorry I saw this blinking out of the side of my eye couldn't add squirrel
93. 17:03uh I know it's frustrating but it's very amusing from a storyline standpoint it is it is a good story that that the paid
94. 17:12customers can't use the best tools of of Google it's it's it's pretty staggering Gemini F perfect spelling first try Show and Tell okay cool
95. 17:27nice where's my mouse oh my mouse is doing weirdness I think I have a new version of OSX that's got some oh that looks
96. 17:41very cool it looks like a truck hit the a but but but it's still pretty slick and then every time I switch
97. 17:53cameras the first time it kills my little my little dude my little double camera here let me turn down my brightness so
98. 18:06you can actually see the detail in there that's pretty that's pretty slick looks pretty good although the A's the the A's
99. 18:13look like they got an a fist fight look at that they all the A's are like yeah yeah hey YMCA ah [ __ ]

101. 18:42same though they do they do at least look all three of the A's look the same so they're consistent they're
102. 18:50just it looks like the Art Deco jewelry designer was was uh taking a little l when he was designing the a very
103. 19:02industrial the a is consistent it is it's a style it's definitely a [Laughter] style it's the it's the Opium it's the Opium overdose
104. 19:16style of the 1920s all right so um well since I'm here let's see where do we want to start where do we want to start what do we want to do
105. 19:36let me what is going on little mousy all right I think it needs charging do you think it's worth to pay
106. 19:46the zappier monthly uh if you're going to use it yes it's not worth any of these things to pay for them if you're not going to
107. 19:56use them I mean so here's the here's here's the deal with zappier I because you get some amount of zaps for free or
108. 20:03you get some amount of whatever for free if you're coming up against your um your rate limit where you're
109. 20:13using it more than the free thing lets you use Andor if there are features you want to use that only exist in the paid plans then it's worth
110. 20:24it um it also depends what you want to do like I was hot and heavy with automations for a
111. 20:40while and then I've kind of cooled off on it not because I don't like automations or want them it's like I I've done the sort of big
112. 20:50automations in my business like I didn't have a ton of automations that I that were particularly slowing down my business the ones that were
113. 20:58I built automations for and they're fixed and so I'm just using the automations we built so I'm not I'm not
114. 21:06doing it on a day-to-day basis if you want to start a business around it and do it for other people then yeah I would
115. 21:12I would think that would be good only to connect your gpts um probably not cuz I think you can probably learn how to connect your gpts
116. 21:26without that and if you get something where you really want to do something fun with it I I would say do it
117. 21:32opportunistically like if you start hitting against limits then do it but otherwise not I'm wondering if things are going to
118. 21:39get easier in the next year huh that's a really interesting question Lori I mean you you had the the it acted really
119. 21:53weird it it depends what what you're it depends when you say things are going to get easier I don't know what things
120. 22:01you're referring to if you're referring to things like API Integrations I think API Integrations are going to get much
121. 22:08easier and that's what what they're going to be what they're going to be called is Agents so we're going to see
122. 22:15agents I would think starting in the next I would think by April we'll start to see agents and then they're going to get they're going
123. 22:28to be confusing for a while cuz we're not going to know how to use them and then there's going to be a whole rash of
124. 22:34[ __ ] where people are like don't give agents access to any of your systems you're going to get hacked the robots
125. 22:40are going to kill you don't do it and then we'll use them and it'll be fine so I'm guessing by June July we'll probably start to
126. 22:50see some useful stuff does chat GPT remember us yet like does it have that memory feature not yet I don't think um let me go look

133. 24:30oh actually I want to try something here so one of the th one of the things that that they put in here create a CSS
134. 24:39color palette from an image which sounds really cool but when they first launched this it didn't work I want to see if it
135. 24:46works now if it doesn't work I'm going to be blown away all right let me go find an image and I'm actually going to show you

137. 25:05end and it's got some really specific colors in it and so I'm going to say um let's see create a CSS

152. 28:51able to talk about the company to a new audience I've got to be able to incorporate a lot of the AI stuff the AI products that I've built
153. 29:00in I've got to be able to build them into um the conversation more than you think what what more than I think pay what more than I

165. 31:33right and it's it's tight and it's a good story but if I want to kind of reframe the whole thing and talk about
166. 31:38it as a whole and talk about it to different audiences I haven't done that exercise in years so I thought well Gemini in theory
167. 31:51or well I've seen it do it is is connected to YouTube and in theory it should be really good at knowing what's on YouTube the the bar
168. 32:01elepant exactly um so what I so what I started with was this I went um find me a Ted Talk on
169. 32:19YouTube that discusses how to talk about your your business um give me an
170. 32:35overview of the three most interesting you find I'll just leave it at that so I said go find me some YouTube
171. 32:50videos and so it's searching YouTube here let me see if I can make this a little bigger there we go look at that
172. 32:57look at that me with the knowing how to make the font bigger you know you know why I know how to make the font bigger
173. 33:03on computers cuz I'm old okay I can't see your stupid little type all of you fraking programmers that program in two pixel High I don't like

185. 35:22points in videos and people will pay to use this um like th this is a differentiator and and Google has all the data right so they
186. 35:31know how to do this okay so anyway so there's those so I'm going to say um I'm intrigued by the let's see by the 4.1 can you
187. 35:48summarize it for me I'm sorry but I'm able to access this YouTube account good Lord this is and by the
188. 36:04way this [ __ ] where it just doesn't randomly do [ __ ] that it just did um is not exclusive to Gemini like

190. 36:20gave it this really specific thing that's like I'll how about I answer something completely non-related doeses

208. 40:02resolution okay so he's taking hero's journey um face your B biggest weaknesses directly live in the future

211. 40:42outline that follows this framework based on the content of the site
212. 40:58and so this should fire on off over to to storyvine which it did before sure here's an outline okay it completely didn't do

214. 41:19all these tools of janky as [ __ ] right now this is this is living up to the uh the promise um let's see

219. 42:19pitching and what they care about marketers and content creators pain points creating high quality videos is
220. 42:23timec consuming expensive and requires editing skills goals produce engaging video content that reaches their target
221. 42:30audience and achieves their their marketing objectives motivations increase brand awareness blah blah blah small business and so it defined
222. 42:38audience categories and their pain points great tell the story in 3x the Hero's World the world is full of
223. 42:43stories waiting to be told but many people don't have the time resources or skills to create high quality videos
224. 42:50true traditional video editing software is complex and timec consuming true existing video creation platforms are
225. 42:57limited in their features and functionalities true well what's Limited is you have to be a [ __ ] mathematician to be good at video
226. 43:05editing and video storytelling right like you have it it's very time consuming tension and conflict business
227. 43:11marketers are struggling to keep up with the demand marketers are failing to reach their target audience social media
228. 43:16influencers are losing followers I don't agree with that last point but whatever that's fine um Story vine is a

236. 44:06true um so so it got it okay so it sort of populated it and it it did better this afternoon it was a different kind
237. 44:14of framework it wasn't so like marketingyoutube I pointed it to the website I had it populate the framework
238. 44:29and then I just started saying now we added this kind of product to it how would you incorporate that product into
239. 44:36the story and it did that and I'd say okay how would you layer in this concept how would you layer in that concept so I
240. 44:42did like 10 different Cycles um and it was it was pretty decent so so I've got something I can work with there so I thought I thought
241. 44:51I'd share that because I think the idea of being connected to YouTube is good now I assume actually we can find out
242. 44:59let's go try regular Gemini and see if it can search Ye Old YouTube I assume it can um please find a Ted Talk on YouTube

251. 47:13image it'll answer the question and then it displays the prompt that it's sending itself right it displays the Json for
252. 47:24the prompt to make the image with the with the prompt in it but it's also like call do right and here's the prompt and
253. 47:31and it displays that and then it makes the image so these tools right now I I I don't know what's going on but it it yeah it

298. 55:06whole separate conversation I don't even deal with it because there's too much going on there I'm just dealing with
299. 55:12kind of the commercial stuff and the stuff that's you know sort of skimming the surface of what's possible um and so any individual on
300. 55:23their own right now can't possibly have enough perspective to understand what's going on but being in a community of
301. 55:30supportive people that are that are up to this you can start to you can start to do some things and you can start to
302. 55:38see see the patterns and and start to get AI literate in the face of the fact that it's impossible to be AI literate
303. 55:46right now because there's just too much going on um so my my big request is if if this sounds interesting to you come

312. 56:44like be curious be like try to figure out what's going on generosity um it's not enough just to learn something but like share what you're
313. 56:56learning connect with other people oh how did you do that you know how in some communities you're like Oho how did you
314. 57:01do that and it's like [ __ ] crickets and how frustrated you are like all I want to do is learn could somebody
315. 57:08give me a leg up this community is kind of the opposite it's like oh how did you do that well I did this and I did that
316. 57:14oh that'd be cool well what if you tried this oh that's a good idea I don't have hey you want to that's
317. 57:21generosity like if you decide to join this community introducing yourself is generosity like introduce yourself tell
318. 57:29us who you are use your real name tell us what you're up to tell us where you are in this AI Journey that's
319. 57:38generosity that's what this community is it's remarkable um exploration this is an adventurous group right we're like ah
320. 57:45well how do can we break it can we fix it can we blow it up can we do something cool can we do something cooler what if you did something
321. 57:51cooler um collaboration this is also a group that it's like there there is a lot of of subcommunities
322. 58:00forming what I think is really important and I I don't think it's just important you know that the salon is doing this I
323. 58:07think this is important moving forward um the future of work is going to be a lot less about the skills you have because as AI tools get
324. 58:20better the skills get democratized so every person is going to be able to do multiple skills at a at a
325. 58:28fairly or very high level that right now they might not be able to do and so in a world where all people can do all skills to some
326. 58:38degree you'll no longer work with people because of the skills they have you're you'll work with people because of who
327. 58:45they are and how much you trust them who they are and how much much you trust them right I'll work with Source camp in here
328. 59:03not because she can do this that or the other but because she's nice and I know she works hard and she's really
329. 59:08conscientious how do I know that I've interacted with her so collaborating in a community like that in like this is not just important
330. 59:18for like oh let's put on a show I want to do something cool I think it's an important skill moving forward um
331. 59:24inclusion is another one everyone is coming from somewhere and and no one has a clue about this generative AI stuff so you're
332. 59:34going to have everyone from plumbers to you know Pate is a PhD mathematician and and you know everyone in between people
333. 59:43have been using AI for three minutes people have been using AI for three decades and what's amazing about being
334. 59:51this early in and in a in a movement or in a shift like this AI stuff's going to be is that all of those outside perspectives will give
335. 1:00:04you ideas and solutions you never would have thought of right so inclusion super super critical empathy is another one
336. 1:00:14there is so much fear so much anger so much misunderstanding about what AI is what it makes possible what what it is
337. 1:00:21what it's not where the boundaries are people are [ __ ] freaked out and so this is a community that you can come in
338. 1:00:29and you can be freaked out you can come in and you can be pissed off I just lost my [ __ ] job because of the stupid [ __ ] AI
339. 1:00:38stuff and this community will be like oh that sucks what can we do is there anything we can do what are you into
340. 1:00:44what are your skills what's this what's that jow today I kept my uncle oh I helped my uncle troubleshoot his car
341. 1:00:53using chachie PT that's awesome I did that like a month two months ago um I had pie I my my car was just freaking
342. 1:01:03out and I didn't know what it was and Pie walked me through it it was amazing and then some mechanic confirmed
343. 1:01:12that that my my GPT doctor was right but empathy is really important understand that someone might be scared someone might be pissed
344. 1:01:26off listen to them understand what they're afraid of maybe what they're afraid of is a complete misunderstanding of how
345. 1:01:37the technology works or you know misconception maybe what they're afraid of is absolutely valid and they should be [ __ ]
346. 1:01:46terrified and like take that in share that with them and then say you want to see something cool like the crackheads we are and then the
347. 1:01:59last one is gratitude I use Pi frequently yeah Pi P's pretty good gratitude so my request to you if if if this sounds compelling to you and

357. 1:03:21at the top of the list if you do nothing else in my my opinion and I'm not associated with them in any way I can't
358. 1:03:28even get Sam Alman to run a stupid prompt for me for his stupid video tool dumb Dum he's jealous of me that's why
359. 1:03:36it's fine it's fine I'm not bitter you're bitter Sam you're bitter anyway use his tool and if you can afford the 20 bucks
360. 1:03:47a month I think the 20 bucks a month for chat gppt plus is the best deal in software and I think if you want to get
361. 1:03:54AI literate it's actually irresponsible to not deeply understand what's possible with chat gbt for the multimodal things it can
362. 1:04:06do it can see images it can make images it can talk it can hear it can't make videos yet but as soon as Sora gets rolled in here it's
363. 1:04:17going to be able to and if you don't think that these guys are going to do audio and voice you're high on crack
364. 1:04:26so that's really important um the other thing in the salon is um the guilds so there are guilds in here there's an
365. 1:04:33Ethics Guild there's an education Guild Healthcare there's also Pate runs the mechanics Guild to talk about behind the
366. 1:04:40scenes like how does this stuff work what's the math all that sort of stuff there's business writers art and and
367. 1:04:46Peter Kaminsky does ai11 so again these are sub communities there's also clubs so there's kind of private clubs that
368. 1:04:54people are spinning up in here he was amazed I kid you not he thought it was magic jillo this is uh Arthur I think it's Arthur C
369. 1:05:03Clark from a book in 1962 any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from Magic as you use these tool as as we all use these
370. 1:05:19tools we normalize the Kevin mallister moments right that moment where you where it just melts your [ __ ] face
371. 1:05:28you normalize that after you've used it for a month or 6 months or whatever the threshold is where it still kind of
372. 1:05:35blows your mind but you're like yeah the world has this now where you can just solve problems without really thinking
373. 1:05:41about it without having to go do a Google Search and when people who don't know anything about chat GPT experience that
374. 1:05:50it is [ __ ] it is it is functionally magic you know how the trick is done maybe but it is functionally ma magic
375. 1:05:59Sora can combine videos by the way interesting fantastic I mean it's going to be wild um anyway in the clubs there's a club here
376. 1:06:09called a l Irregulars that's the club for this channel so so every night the Irregulars come in here and as I'm
377. 1:06:17yapping and yapping and yapping they're in making fun of me or making cool images you know um inspiring one another
378. 1:06:26so if you want to do that if you want to chat with people who are in here regularly um they're really quite
379. 1:06:32remarkable um hop into the AI Irregulars Club but I wanted to I wanted to share something that I I wanted to share an
380. 1:06:39Insight that I had today that I think is unique Gemini is blowing my mind it's spelling accuracy right now oh great
381. 1:06:48welcome to the AI learning lab oh yeah yeah DOI can't ever do um not perfect but way better better than the others with less
382. 1:06:59generating that looks beautiful too um there's a cool thing that's happening in here which I haven't seen in other communities might be
383. 1:07:12there um one of the things that I see in other communities in a channel like show and tell the whole point of Show and
384. 1:07:21Tell is to go in there and show your child right and so you get this in the mid Journey server and you get this on you
385. 1:07:29know mid Journey groups on Facebook and Linkedin and and in art groups and things like that and and what you tend to get is you tend to get
386. 1:07:40virtuosos showing off their masterpieces right and one of the things that's happening in Show and Tell here is that people are willing to
387. 1:07:55to share their their failures they're they're sharing things that are interesting the other thing that's happening
388. 1:08:04is there's like oh that's really cool let me take you know your prompt and let me go modify that and do my spin on that
389. 1:08:13oh that's really cool and then a third person will go do their spin on that and so what I'm noticing is that you'll get
390. 1:08:19these you'll get these waves of different styles of cont content that are all inspired by one another like like there's I I forget who
391. 1:08:29it was I think it might have been Joker is someone like a month or two ago started with these hyper closeups of
392. 1:08:37super detailed animals and it's kind of continued and morphed and now there's these sort of jeweled beings and Crystal
393. 1:08:44beings and and it's there's like this community of inspiration happening where where you just kind of see waves of of
394. 1:08:53different styles of people like look at that one and this is this is you know from something like a month or two ago
395. 1:09:01combined with three or four other things a month or two ago that are kind of evolving like there's this evolution
396. 1:09:09of competencies and artistic visions and voices that I think is unique to this group I think it's really
397. 1:09:18amazing and that hit me today it was just like [ __ ] that's so cool that it's just like oh that's cool
398. 1:09:26that's be and it's you know what it is it's almost like instead of it being like oh they took that from me it's like people are
399. 1:09:35like oh that's really cool that you took my thing and did something with it right and it's you know one of the
400. 1:09:42reasons that we that one's beautiful who did that Tim sheffel that's really cool the old ghilly suit you know one of we we just added the um
401. 1:09:55see this this hyper realistic but now super stylized like Crystal crazy ass [ __ ] it's so cool um one of the reasons we put God

403. 1:10:17else in the group inspires you acknowledge them for it and like Point them to the work that you're doing that
404. 1:10:23got inspired d by it because that will inspire them to do more and vice versa right so that's what this group is about these things are so

422. 1:13:25moving so fast that no individual could keep up with [ __ ] and so I thought the salon would be a place where a bunch of people who are
423. 1:13:33all trying to keep up with [ __ ] can put what they learn into this same bucket and we can all learn from it and
424. 1:13:38everyone will learned faster and we all got better together what I didn't quite anticipate as much is that this would become the kind of
425. 1:13:54remarkable Community it has um it's full of a lot of really remarkable women like at a at a much higher ratio than I've seen in any other
426. 1:14:06technology kind of community like this ever in my life I find that absolutely remarkable and awesome there's a level
427. 1:14:17of I don't know just camaraderie and like true friendships being born that I was not expecting cuz I I I have in my
428. 1:14:25head cuz I'm a [ __ ] gen xer that in-person shit's the only way to build relationships and I also have in my head
429. 1:14:32that social media that the one thing social media is is not social it's antisocial it's isolating and so to experience a
430. 1:14:42community where these deep trusted relationships are being formed that's just been a surprise for me and a
431. 1:14:47revelation for me and then here's been the really big shift as I watch these tools get staggeringly more
432. 1:15:02powerful like the shift from Runway ml to Sora is just [ __ ] stupid it's it's like wait what and and that's even just looking at
433. 1:15:16it as video output but I I did a video tonight on um this afternoon on how Sora actually works they break a frame up into these things
434. 1:15:30called patches and then when they're when they're figuring out what to render for each frame of a video they're taking
435. 1:15:37like a 100 frames at a time and they're taking individual little pieces of the video and they're looking at at them
436. 1:15:43like across 100 frames of video to make sure that there's coherence on the piece parts of the frame that's why it doesn't
437. 1:15:53have all the weirdness that the other ones do so like I look at that and I I just look at the the the sort of craziness of
438. 1:16:03what these tools are doing and I just go to this place of like we we're entering a world where everyone will have all the skills to some
439. 1:16:17degree right everyone will have all the knowledge to some degree now you need to be AI literate you need to be able to
440. 1:16:25use these tools right now you need to you know you need to piece part and duct tape together a bunch of stuff to get it
441. 1:16:31to do stuff but 2 three years from now all of these models are going to be multimodal seamless agent driven you
442. 1:16:40just give it a goal and it's going to spin up a bunch of bots for you go out and do [ __ ] for you and deliver it so
443. 1:16:46everyone's going to have all the skills everyone's going to have all the knowledge so the first the first thing I do is I
444. 1:16:56[ __ ] Panic right I because I go oh [ __ ] then everyone's going to get fired no no work still needs to get
445. 1:17:07done and human beings still need to be the conductors of the of these Symphonies but why I hire someone shifts
446. 1:17:18dramatically I no longer hire you because you're the only one on the planet that can do that kind of Animation I no longer hire you because
447. 1:17:27you're the only one on the planet that can write copy that's as convincing or as effective as the copy you
448. 1:17:35write now everyone or or a lot of people are going to be able to do that right so in in for me as someone hiring someone the
449. 1:17:46pool of people I could hire you know goes from 10 or 20 to 10 or 20,000 and then I go to so who am I [ __ ]
450. 1:17:59hiring I'm going to hire the people I know I'm going to hire the people that aren't [ __ ] I'm going to hire the
451. 1:18:05people that are generous I'm going to hire the people that are big thinkers I'm going to hire the people
452. 1:18:12that just I like the way they work I like the way they think I like who they are I'm going to hire the people I know and
453. 1:18:21trust and and and and I think right now the world is like it's skills first and then if we can get to it like and
454. 1:18:33trust and I think these are slowly starting to close and as these as these tools get capable really quickly it's going to be
455. 1:18:42like this like right now the world still kind of looks the same 2023 the last normal year as these tools get better and better and
456. 1:18:51better and the skill get more and more democratized it's going to very quickly do that where everyone's got the skills
457. 1:19:00and so I no longer hire for skills I hire for trust and relationships that's why a group like the AI Salon I think is
458. 1:19:16important crazy right I don't know if it's true that's what it's feeling like though

466. 1:20:56was I'm a I'm a I love Sim racing so Sim you know where you got a rig and a steering wheel and you race other people
467. 1:21:05on racetracks in Virtual cars I love it and so I'd come home after work and for two two hours a night I'd run in and you
468. 1:21:15know I'd eat dinner whatever and I'd run in and i' Sim race for a couple hours and I'd go back out and watch
469. 1:21:20TV and so I thought what if I for a year just commit to instead of sim racing I go live and talk about Ai and
470. 1:21:30so that's what the AI learning lab has really turned into and the big surprise for me has been this has turned into
471. 1:21:37like a a jam session like a nightly jam session where I'll show stuff people do stuff they they they you know now that
472. 1:21:44we have the AI Salon that they can go hang out and sort of collaborate and communicate there there's all sorts of cool stuff
473. 1:21:53and so and and so that's all it is it's it's also you know nickname for the channel is chadad I will occasionally
474. 1:22:01finish a sentence I will occasionally do something I said I was going to do can I use AI to make a LinkedIn profile pick
475. 1:22:09uh yeah you can I mean there's a bunch of services out there there's one called the [ __ ] it called reminy r r e m i n i which is it's like
476. 1:22:20an iPhone app you upload some pictures to it and it'll turn it into head shot for you um you can do that one it
477. 1:22:29depends how how geeky how geeky you are and how deep you want to run down the rabbit hole but there's some commercial
478. 1:22:36apps out there that use AI to make LinkedIn profile picks you can absolutely do that I think my Tik Tock
479. 1:22:43my Tik Tock profile pick right now is is a remedy AI picture there's still a little uncanny valley where it's it's just like it's
480. 1:22:53not quite exactly what you look like you know the humanity is not quite there but you know you don't have to put on a nice
481. 1:23:00shirt and go to a [ __ ] Studio these lives for are great for group therapy exactly lunatick and yeah and I mean that's the
482. 1:23:11thing like like these lives really do become like I get to I get the the privilege of sort of feeling the pulse of what's going on and and
483. 1:23:23what's exciting people and what's freaking people out and and what people really want to know and just watch the
484. 1:23:28waves of you know now we're making gpts and now everyone's excited about Sora like just the you know we are very much
485. 1:23:36in a primordial soup right now there's no structure it's all chaos right which there's an argument for having someone
486. 1:23:45like me host a channel like this like you know I think when the when the industry is a bit more established you
487. 1:23:51probably want someone who's good with agendas and process but that's not where the industry is right now the industry's
488. 1:24:00total [ __ ] chaos you can try to Wrangle it make an automation put it over here try to lock [ __ ] down and then 3 weeks later you go try
489. 1:24:11to use your tool and it doesn't work anymore because they've changed the underlying model or they've fine-tuned
490. 1:24:16it or just they turned off the [ __ ] API it's like it's just where it is right now and so what I try to teach in here is embrace the
491. 1:24:32janky be relentlessly curious and talk about it and and the third one is the most important [ __ ] talk about it if you're learning about

500. 1:25:56month for GPT team and you need two seats right so you can't just do it for one seat you need two seats um then they
501. 1:26:03will not train on your data so that's there now um I would still be very reticent to share anything super
502. 1:26:16Critical with a third-party llm right now whether it's Google or open AI or Microsoft or for anyone if you want to be truly safe you
503. 1:26:28run your models locally or on your own instance of a GPU stack like a virtual server um and if you're not geeky enough
504. 1:26:37to do that then they do that but but I I I feel like there's this this misconception out there that you know if
505. 1:26:47I type in I'm feeling a little depressed today that you know it's immediately going to a broadcast out to the world

509. 1:27:25know if if there there are a lot of things that if it got out it would be really bad you should just assume that
510. 1:27:33none of that stuff you should put in there unless it's been deidentified there's a there's a cool company in
511. 1:27:41Denver actually which is where I am called Lial and I was about to build this because we do a lot of work in Pharma so
512. 1:27:50I was about to build this into our platform and now I think I'm just going to do an API call to to Lial so what
513. 1:27:58Lial does is they will take any document that you've got that is um super identifiable has got all your private [ __ ] in
514. 1:28:09it and they will de identify it they they'll swap out you know first name for a variable called first name and you
515. 1:28:17know address for address one here and then you send and then they send the deidentified stuff to open AI or to
516. 1:28:29whoever it Returns the thing and then Lial reidentified the variables in in in thing now you got to trust them right you're still sending
517. 1:28:42[ __ ] to a third party but what you can likely do with a company like Lial is they probably have what are called baas
518. 1:28:49which are business something agreements um if you're sending private information and you have a baa they basically say
519. 1:28:57here's our policy for for privacy and security and safety and how we store things and when we throw it out and all
520. 1:29:04that and so you have an agreement with them and so if you have those baas in place as as a company working on behalf of other

595. 1:42:27powerful that as a single operator or as a two or three person team you can solve problems that would
596. 1:42:37have historically taken five or 10 or 20 people to solve so your ability to do things better faster or cheaper than the
597. 1:42:47competition right now if you're AI literate are like way up here because the 95% of the world is not AI literate right now they're not
598. 1:42:58playing with these tools they're not Reinventing their businesses they're not thinking about this stuff critically so
599. 1:43:05if you even if you're just curious about it and you're like well I guess I could write a marketing plan with chat GPT yeah let me try it
600. 1:43:11here you're way ahead of most of the world so go find something you're passionate about figure out a problem
601. 1:43:19that needs solving and then figure out how to use AI to solve it and then go put that out in the world that's how you do it that's it end

603. 1:43:42something if you didn't see it yesterday or the day before it doesn't [ __ ] matter some sometime in the past 48 hours there's this little
604. 1:43:53startup this pesky little startup called open AI they have like 800 employees and apparently they're just [ __ ] taking
605. 1:44:01over the world everyone's pissed off at them well well they announced this thing called sora which makes pretty pictures
606. 1:44:13move you know what's funny is it's funny it just hit me that cuz what I'm about to show you is Sora makes these beautiful video
607. 1:44:27videos but they have no sound and it like what hit me was I feel like Runway ML and pabs were like silent
608. 1:44:36movies like silent movies were really janky and like the movement was really janky and they were silent and then at
609. 1:44:43some point someone figured out how to put audio with them and then at some point they added color to them right
610. 1:44:47there were these there were these distinct phases and so Sora represents a new phase so it's kind of like to shift from
611. 1:44:54you know silent movies to talkies except Sora still doesn't talk but they they released this thing or no they didn't release it they
612. 1:45:07announced this thing it's not released and it looks like I'll go through it a little bit here in case people haven't seen it if
613. 1:45:19you've been anywhere if you're pay attention at all to this AI stuff it's all anyone's talking about um so you go to open ai.com
614. 1:45:31Sora and you can create video from text which is pretty slick let me make this a little smaller and let me get my and I'll do that and I'll
615. 1:45:46do okay and so come on this site's really weird this site like loads and unloads all the time it's
616. 1:46:00very weird okay so here's this video so this is the one that that has been shown a lot this woman walking down a street in
617. 1:46:16Tokyo this is a 59 second video of a woman walking down a street in Tokyo and you'll notice in the background like the thing that so two
618. 1:46:27things impress me about this video of her her legs actually look like legs if you look at Runway when people walk in
619. 1:46:33Runway you kind of just have to forgive that their legs sort of just defy physics and then they'll sprout a third
620. 1:46:40leg and you know just like we used to have e-hand eight- fingered hands one of the things you accept with
621. 1:46:47AI video is that legs don't work right well these legs work right right and then the other thing about the
622. 1:46:52background people one of the things that um Runway videos are notorious for is like all of the individuals in the
623. 1:47:00background will sort of morph together and then split apart and then turn into a car and then an elephant and you know
624. 1:47:06so long as you just ignore this [ __ ] in the background everything's fine well this isn't that like the only thing that I've really
625. 1:47:18found that that's a tell here is the thickness of the Soles of Her Shoes kind of does this right so there's there's there's a
626. 1:47:29couple of places that you can look here where there's just weirdness right but it's like really nitpicky little
627. 1:47:37[ __ ] and then they put out a bunch of these videos right this one oh the other thing that this does so notice that edit
628. 1:47:45that just happened and that edit and that edit and that edit and that edit and that edit and whatever
629. 1:47:53the [ __ ] that thing is and that edit all of these edits are from a single prompt this thing understands the whole
630. 1:48:03world and it understand he is in the world and you're like well well how it can't do that and then and then this one this is
631. 1:48:17a drone shot of big sir that I was talking to someone on Friday that they said when they saw this shot they were like oh
632. 1:48:32[ __ ] because I don't know I mean you tell me what about this doesn't look real the waves look real the Little Lighthouse is
633. 1:48:42not moving not changing it's totally coherent all the rocks are coherent the waves are coherent like it's it's it's solid so this is
634. 1:48:57Sora and they go on there's a bunch of other things one of the things that I was impressed with with this is that this
635. 1:49:09section that open AI was actually willing to admit uh this thing ain't perfect and they gave examples of it
636. 1:49:17which I thought was was actually smart so they said the current model has weaknesses it may struggle with the accuracy of simulating the
637. 1:49:29physics of a complex scene this is the accuracy of simulating the physics of a complex scene that's probably where Elon
638. 1:49:36Musk is going to [ __ ] all over them but until he launches a tool that proves itself you know as good or better than
639. 1:49:44this Sora can also combine videos I can't paste Reddit to Mighty networks just Joker you can do screenshots all the [ __ ] where Mighty
640. 1:49:57networks has got some weird web rendering thing where it just it doesn't render previews of Twitter things it
641. 1:50:03doesn't R it sucks for that so just take a screenshot ins saying the video video is the hardest yeah well so so I'm going to
642. 1:50:11show you now I'll show you now how it works but anyway the the section here they they say it it may not understand
643. 1:50:18physics of a complex scene it may not understand specific instances of cause and effect for example a person might
644. 1:50:24take a bite out of a cookie but afterward the cookie might not have the bite mark the model model also confuses
645. 1:50:30spatial details of a prompt for example mix mixing up left and right and may struggle with precise descriptions and
646. 1:50:37then it shows you some examples of [ __ ] gone wrong right so there's a guy running backwards on a treadmill that
647. 1:50:42seems to be motoring itself down some sort of mythical Street it said weakness sorus sometimes creates physical
648. 1:50:50implausible motion which is good here's one where the dogs are the pups are spontaneously emerging out of one
649. 1:50:59another um this one the ball goes in the hoop sh and there's another ball it just shows up and then goes through the rim
650. 1:51:11right so there's some Physics disaster going on there this one's a blast watch the chair watch the chair emerge out of the
651. 1:51:26sand and I watch and it's the Ouija chair all right and then she can't blow
652. 1:51:40out the candles but I've seen I've seen many grandmothers not be able to blow out the candles so I think that that
653. 1:51:46one's actually not you know that one's plausible um okay so let me show you how this works and and I I did a video on
654. 1:51:55this today so if you want to if you want to you know see the video and uh understand it you can you can do that
655. 1:52:03in the description at the bottom of the release here they talk about their research techniques and they have a link to their technical
656. 1:52:13report and so let me show you how this thing actually works I think this is [ __ ] Bonkers Bonkers okay all right so
657. 1:52:27this is how video works right if you know if you if you've ever you know taken any time to figure out how do those moving pictures work
658. 1:52:37well we have this thing called Persistence of vision and sort of the lowest number that where it doesn't seem
659. 1:52:44really flickery and weird is about 24 frames a second which is um the the uh what feature films do and TVs like 30
660. 1:52:54frames a second and video games are like 60 frames a second but basically for every SEC second of video you got this
661. 1:53:00stack of 24 or 30 or 60 pictures right and if you understand how diffusion models work you you write a prompt and and it sort of amalgamates
662. 1:53:11all these random noised images into a single random noised image and then it Den noises them over like 50 steps to
663. 1:53:19generate that image and so you can imagine that if you're sort of taking this you know kind of random concocted
664. 1:53:26image and you're denoising it and then you're trying to maintain persistence across a series of those some of the
665. 1:53:34shit's going to get lost and weird and morphe like just the nature of how diffusion models work that's just sort
666. 1:53:40of what happens and it it makes perfect sense it it's actually staggering that video like Runway ML and Pika is as good
667. 1:53:48as it is considering how diffusion models work okay so what open AI is doing is they're taking the their training set they you
668. 1:54:00know they take lots and lots of video and then they actually put it in a visual encoder that understands all of
669. 1:54:07the things that are in the image and so it understands in this case there's a butterfly it looks like it's swimming
670. 1:54:14swimming you know on top of a coral reef or whatever the [ __ ] that is but you know it sort of breaks that down and
671. 1:54:20figures all that stuff out that that visual encoder then turns the little individual components into what they
672. 1:54:27call Patches or these are very similar to tokens in a large language model but but they they break the image up into these
673. 1:54:37patches and then the way the system actually processes a single frame is that they load in like a 100 frames and they take one of these
674. 1:54:48patches and and and how I describe it in my video is let's say in this larger video one of these patches is a little
675. 1:54:56red sports car right on a road well so that would be in at the beginning of this patch they can look forward and
676. 1:55:03back in time and maintain the continuity of this little patch so rather than having to main maintain the continuity
677. 1:55:11of the hole they're maintaining the continuity of very little pieces like 100 frames at a time right right looking forward and
678. 1:55:21back it's remarkable right it's remarkable and so and so what it actually does is it so it's got things in there that understands physics it
679. 1:55:32understands how a room works and how gravity works and how a river works and how trees work it's not creating a
680. 1:55:40simulated model but it understands all that [ __ ] and then it understands what all the individual piece parts are of an
681. 1:55:47image and how they should interact with one another and it maintains that continuity by looking at a single patch
682. 1:55:55over time holy [ __ ] [ __ ] Batman that's why the video is so good is because it's effectively simulating reality good Lord who are these
683. 1:56:14mathematicians so that's Sora and and the other thing that that is is that gets my my panties in a Twist where is my tab where am
684. 1:56:28I oh I guess I can just hit the back button yeah the thing that that gets gets my panties in a Twist here they released this thing called
685. 1:56:42sora but the first sentence doesn't talk about video the first sentence says we're teaching AI to understand and simulate the physical

698. 1:59:05world then it can take any kind of input any kind of data and it can understand what's supposed to happen with that or how to put it in

700. 1:59:231974 and Wembley Stadium looks like this and it had this many people in it and this many people in a stadium this big would sound like

719. 2:03:19language model companies are probably working on multimodal stuff right now so we very quickly move from the pictures are pretty and can't

723. 2:04:005 minute shorts and you can stitch those together to make a feature film I'll be able to take my screen plays I've got seven of them sitting
724. 2:04:10there collecting dust I mean I could do it right now but I'm just kind of waiting on the technology to get a
