18. 3:53things AI most things Ai and a lot of things not AI um I'm an entrepreneur I'm a Storyteller by training I've got a video technology

20. 4:11and uh I was an entrepreneur in the early days of the World Wide Web and when I stumbled upon this here
21. 4:18generative AI thing about a year and a half ago I thought huh well uh and I have Xfinity so if anyone from uh
22. 4:28from Xfinity and Comcast is on the the live go screw yourself could you make your internet work did I pay ridiculous
23. 4:36amounts of money for it I I just wanted to work like it's not thank you very much the the the uh as a user I would
24. 4:46like my internet to um not suck and why I keep it up on my live the whole time there if you're new to
25. 4:56generative AI if you've not played with Chachi PT go to that top address that's that's the official chat gbt website I'm
26. 5:03not affiliated with it I don't make any money off this I don't give a [ __ ] if you go or not but I think it's important for everyone to
27. 5:12actually try we pay for both Xfinity and T-Mobile home because yeah yeah I know I know yeah it's just it's ridiculous at this
28. 5:21point anyway go there um is my camera dirty I think my camera might be dirty oh no wait no place is gone it's gonna be good
29. 5:36it's gonna be so good all right I was trying to make my camera focus better hang on hold hold um that help
30. 5:51not really oh I know what it is that was too bright ah it's better there focus and lack of executive function so

32. 6:13okay if you're new to chat GPT go to that top one if you have uh uh if you've played with chat gbt all
33. 6:21these other ones are things that I think are worth playing for or playing with um Bing is from Microsoft that's gpt4 Claude is a competitor
34. 6:32Google's barred is okay used to suck it's getting better so it's worth playing with now lab stop perplexity
35. 6:40that's meta's llama 2 models that perplexity is letting us all play with for free so you can go see what the Llama models are all about
36. 6:48um and then you got PI from inflection and you got Poe from quora all of these have some interesting thing about them
37. 6:55that are worth playing with so go there do that with with those things the next thing to do and lots of good ideas
38. 7:06um there are tons of other you know there's prompt libraries there's prompt base if you want to go pay for prompts I
39. 7:11would definitely not recommend that but maybe you come up with a good prompt and go sell it on prompt Basin then you can make money
40. 7:21we also make fun of those people on this channel uh um uh prompt book openart.ai's prompt book that will teach
41. 7:32you about how you practice generation tools like I have on the bottom here mid Journey Adobe Firefly and Leonardo's
42. 7:39stable diffusion so stable diffusion or Leonardo AI Leonardo is kind of the web fancy front end to stable diffusion so
43. 7:46that's a really good document openart.ai prompt book really good document so go there look at that you
44. 7:55will you will Marvel at how much these image models understand it's like a it's like an art history lesson and then you realize
45. 8:03you don't just you don't just have to learn it if you learn it you get to go make stuff that looks like that it's
46. 8:08amazing absolutely amazing okay so the other thing we do here we drink coffee we drink coffee late at night because
47. 8:23you know add and stimulants they're kind of counterintuitive um I answer questions so if you have questions about AI pop them in the
48. 8:36comments below I'll try to answer them all later in the live it'll get really frustrating because people will be like
49. 8:42he's not answering my question I find this very frustrating he he claims to be live everything seems to be live but
50. 8:49he's not answering my question I've asked it 732 times and he still hasn't answered my question so it's clearly not
51. 8:54live so I think he's the bot I think it's a bot pretty sure he's the bot you haven't seen that he's the bot
52. 9:02did someone confirm that he's the bot is he is he a chat GPT five bot is he is this a simulation are we is we're living in a simulation

61. 10:33religion is language sure these are large language models religion is a large language model humans are a large language model so
62. 10:43we're all in the same neighborhood about it and I certainly don't want to talk about it here oh I don't even want to talk about it here okay

98. 16:45do Tick Tock live on a Mac because you know I don't know whatever Rebel I'm dizzy Luna stick when you have
99. 16:55wait what have you found to be the most enlightening way to utilize AI um enlightening way for me as evidenced by this live it's
100. 17:09building Community around people learning it um I I
101. 17:24just wrote a piece on LinkedIn called um chechi BT just gave me superpowers and it was just it was yet another
102. 17:34experience where so so what's been happening with with me with Chach EBT if I sort of let my brain get out of the way
103. 17:41and just give in to okay I've got an assistant that's that's way faster and just as creative as I am if I just kind of give into that
104. 17:52premise um then all I have to do is is give it a little bit of direction here and there like I'm just sort of steering it and
105. 18:01letting it do the bulk of the work and I'm finding that I'm over delivering on my promises and I'm coming up with ideas that I that
106. 18:11I absolutely wouldn't have pursued without this stuff um and in that piece I called these things um ability amplifiers
107. 18:20or Humanity amplifiers and someone said on the Live this week um I was talking about large language models and llms and what they are and
108. 18:29how they work and and and they they they put in the comments um humans are large language models and I thought oh they are
109. 18:39and that's why these things are so funky and weird because they were trained on the words that we put out on the internet right like so
110. 18:49we've just for the past three and a half four decades been putting [ __ ] on the internet and these guys all went and crawled all
111. 18:56of those words and found a way to stick them in these tools in a way that they just kind of are a mirror back in our face of what we have
112. 19:08created collectively you know as a pile of people a bunch of bunch of meat bags using these large language models
113. 19:18spewing stuff out onto the internet and so so they really are kind of a reflection of who we are right and so
114. 19:25they're they're kind of these Humanity amplifiers and it's good and bad right and then you know I was talking today on
115. 19:31the on the LinkedIn live and um um you know one of the guys was talking about um well these things hallucinate and that's
116. 19:40really bad and you know we got to find ways to make them not hallucinate and then he was talking about but when I
117. 19:45work with human beings like human beings lie all the time and they take time off from work and they don't show up and
118. 19:51they're late and they they procrastinate and they do all this stuff and they also screw up and they also don't research
119. 19:58things really well I was like oh yeah that's right like we're expecting Perfection out of these things but what
120. 20:04they're doing is [ __ ] astounding like even if they get it you know 20 wrong it's 80 percent right like that and it's like what human can
121. 20:13do that none have you ever tried to hire a marketing copywriter just out of the blue about the tenth one that you fire you're
122. 20:21like this this might take a while you know you don't experience it with that so so for me there's kind of a there's kind of a
123. 20:34freedom that this that these things are providing Freedom's not the right word well yes it's like creative freedom but
124. 20:48it's not so much creative freedom because I feel like I already have creative freedom just do whatever the [ __ ] you want to do
125. 20:57the word that just popped in my head was was uh creative lubricant these things are creative like like it's
126. 21:04just like there's less friction there's no friction writer's block doesn't exist um you have an idea that that historic if I
127. 21:15have an idea that historically I would have thought oh but I would have to research that and that's if it felt like too much work I
128. 21:23would just throw it out I'm like I'll come up with some other idea and now I have that idea and there's no friction if I don't need
129. 21:31to do research anymore I can just go ask this thing tell me about this time in history oh that's kind of oh you're
130. 21:36right I remember that from school and I'm off I don't know that that really answers your question um the thing that I find most inspiring
131. 21:51is when someone that comes on one of these lives or someone that I'm talking to in the world that's like oh yeah I've used chat
132. 21:58GPT yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah it's remarkable yeah yeah thanks Lauren thank you for the Braves yes we'll smell it sweet um
133. 22:11it's just like I've got Tourette's I don't but [Laughter] um when when I when I work with someone or I'm
134. 22:26talking to someone and then I say oh go try this and they actually go try Chachi BT and they put something in
135. 22:34and and they have their Kevin McAllister moment there their home alone moment that for me is the most inspiring thing
136. 22:44because from the outside these things don't look that impressive it's like oh yeah yeah it's it it's a chat bot you
137. 22:51put in words and words come out I've seen those before you don't need to educate me I've been using the the
138. 22:57internet for nearly a decade okay and then they use it and they're like ho ho holy [ __ ] did you know it did that
139. 23:07yeah that's why that's why I have a tick tock you know so I can't stop thinking about it um so that's it for me I mean it's it's
140. 23:20just and and the the other thing that's just mind-blowing to me these things are are weak pieces of [ __ ] compared to what
141. 23:30they're going to be in a year in two years and three years and five years I can't even get my head around how
142. 23:39different these things are going to be a year from now because if you go back a year Chachi PT didn't exist gpt3 did you
143. 23:47could go to the playground and you could play with the gpt3 API but a year ago chat GPT didn't exist and
144. 23:55the image the image generator is like stable diffusion and mid-journey were just starting to make competent images
145. 24:01so we're like nine months or a year into these things producing competent results right so these are like the
146. 24:13version 1.0 right this is like Netscape Navigator 0.9 B remember the early days of the World Wide Web when a new browser came out
147. 24:24everyone was like oh there's a new browser this one's got a back button like that's the stage we're at with this
148. 24:33[ __ ] and it's already as remarkable as it is so so every time someone has that light bulb moment with this stuff I get really
149. 24:42excited a because just [ __ ] Humanity's cool and when someone has their mind blown and you get to witness that it's a remarkable moment
150. 24:51but then I know like this is sort of red pill blue pill stuff like once you actually play with this and and have
151. 24:59that moment There's No Going Back like you get you can't get how important this is from the outside and the minute
152. 25:08you're on the inside you can't unlearn it and you can't unthink it and you can't unimagine it and you're just like
153. 25:15oh [ __ ] what do I do now and you're like but at least it can't do what I do and then you try that and it
154. 25:24can and then you're like oh this is really a problem but you can unsee it you can't undo it you can't unlearn it they're not gonna
155. 25:33uninvent it so that's that's the most enlightening thing for me the 27 things I just said there could it

198. 33:58I've made and then you can do create a video and there's a couple of things to the interface so you've got you know the
199. 34:05sort of you know that that's what it's gonna the video is gonna be of and then you've got all these different avatars
200. 34:13you know some of which they made and then some of which you can you know you can upload so I'm gonna upload that one
201. 34:21so I'm gonna go find androgynous and Raj and draw there it is so we're gonna bring that crazy dude
202. 34:37dude or doodad in here and then over on the right hand side you can either upload an audio file so you
203. 34:46can just record an audio of you talking you can use something like 11 labs to synthesize Voice or you can have did

215. 36:54you do all this stuff over there and then you just hit generate video and this is gonna cost me three credits it's gonna be 34 seconds long
216. 37:05and then it's off doing its thing and I'm gonna try to stir my cinnamon into my coffee well well it's rendering

230. 39:10if you're not American go to bing.com they should let you do that one but I don't know and then go to prompts.chat and
231. 39:20prompts.chat will teach you what these things actually are they're they're they're they're very simple conceptually right it's just a
232. 39:30little it's just like a Google search bar but what you what you type in there and how you type in there is
233. 39:36way more sophisticated and what it what it gives you back is way more sophisticated than a Google search way more sophisticated
234. 39:46um and I can play with some of that stuff if you want also last night you asked if the food at Casa Bonita was
235. 39:51good it was wow that's amazing the food at Casa Bonita has been historically horrific like like you know how those

297. 49:33I got completely overwhelmed like like I am rarely sort of at a lot like I'm rarely overwhelmed with inputs like I can take
298. 49:44lots of my brain just I can take lots of inputs right and synthesize them really quick it's an 80 it's an 80d thing
299. 49:50but this stuff is really intense like it comes at you with a lot and and you know you you think you're heading in One
300. 49:59Direction and it just veers you down a rabbit hole so quick you're like oh I didn't even know how it got here it's amazing

303. 50:23you need and it's where they introduced the the concept of the Transformer and what the Transformer did so the T in GPT
304. 50:31is Transformer so GPT stands for generative pre-trained Transformer generative meaning it's generating generating original work it's not
305. 50:40copying and pasting pre-trained meaning they've trained it on all of the internet so you don't have to previously you had to bring your own
306. 50:50data and and um machine learning models could only ingest relatively small data sets and the Transformer the T and GPT
307. 51:01um allowed them to train these machine learning models on massive data sets and and what Sam Altman at
308. 51:08open AI learned what the team at open AI Learned was that the more data you give it and the more gpus you throw at it the
309. 51:16better it gets and they realized this early on and if you listen to Sam Altman's uh interviews um the reason and you know we can choose
310. 51:26to believe him or not I I tend to I you know he feels like a a decently thoughtful guy um the reason he says open AI switched
311. 51:36from a non-profit to a for-profit is he said they understood that if they threw massive amounts of compute power at this
312. 51:45and trained it on massive amounts of data both of those things required massive amounts of money and he said he couldn't raise enough
313. 51:54money in a non-profit to do that so he switched it to a capped for-profit which is an interesting model the investors
314. 52:00can only recoup I think it's 100x of their original investment and um and he just threw a bunch of hardware at it and a bunch of people
315. 52:10tagging data and trained it and so gpt3 was the gpt3 came out in 2020 and then chat EBT came out in November
316. 52:21of last year and that was the thing that changed everything and and I really do so um so I do think that that paper I don't
317. 52:30know if it you know lives up there with Origin of Species but I do think that you know this is Industrial Revolution scale
318. 52:39change that's coming right this is going to fundamentally alter everything we do how we work the definition of work it's it's going to
319. 52:48obliterate all of that there's going to be the the Before Time and the after time right November 30th 2022 in fact I've got the

479. 1:22:56help me understand what's in the data inside this zip file
480. 1:23:12and then what code interpreter is going to do so so this is actually fascinating and this is the kind of thing in a math and science class
481. 1:23:19even how code interpreter works I think is interesting for Math and Science class because what what it's doing
482. 1:23:26technically is when you fire off a code interpreter chat it's spinning up a um a virtual machine and and then notice for it to look
483. 1:23:38inside the zip file it it fired off this plug-in here well what's inside that well it actually wrote its own python
484. 1:23:43code and executed it and then it says would you like a brief overview of the contents of each file and I'll say yes
485. 1:23:53and then it's going to go start to figure some stuff out all right let's start out by previewing the contents of the CSV file after that
486. 1:24:02we'll take a glance at the Json file and if you open up the the work you know there's your python code where it created a data frame
487. 1:24:15to see what's in there and then here's your fields from the CSV for this crime data and now it's looking in the Json file
488. 1:24:34would you like details of any specific key or a general overview of some main Keys such as description I'm going to say
489. 1:24:44I would like you to analyze the data in both files and find me the trends or statistics you think are most interesting period
490. 1:24:59present those back to me visualized in charts and graphs that bring the information to life
491. 1:25:13so so again if you knew something about data analysis you could write a prompt that was way less shitty than what I
492. 1:25:21just did but the fact that it can understand the crappy prompt I just gave it and start prompting itself so
493. 1:25:28basically what it says is absolutely let's break this task down into steps number one data analysis understand the
494. 1:25:36data distribution identify potential Columns of Interest compute compute basic statistics and check for Trends
495. 1:25:42visualization create visualizations based on the insights from the data analysis let's begin with the analysis
496. 1:25:49of the CSV file so it found an error it then fixed that error now it's going and looking at the the data right so
497. 1:25:58it is now prompting itself so this is a glimpse into the future of autonomous agents where you just give these
498. 1:26:05machines a goal and they go off and start you know doing things for you so I think this could be really
499. 1:26:11interesting and there's the charts and graphs so this is the distribution of violations by Ward right and then so certain words
500. 1:26:24so then it creates a little chart here where it kind of screws up the formatting like the labels are too long but we can go fix that
501. 1:26:34or no we can go tell it to fix that this is distribution of case depositions or wait dispositions so it's just off doing this so so if you
502. 1:26:46knew the kind of data set like you know maybe you go get some scientific patents or some some some papers from archives
503. 1:26:53some scientific papers and you upload 10 different scientific papers I mean this would be interesting maybe
504. 1:27:01you take something like look at all the papers that are coming out about LK 99 right the the room temperature superconductor
505. 1:27:08get as many papers as you can throw them in a zip file toss them into code interpreter and have code interpreter um find any
506. 1:27:20um through lines you know that go across all of the research papers what you know what what interesting data can it find
507. 1:27:26across all these papers and maybe your class comes up with the the actual LK 99 that is truly super conductive because you ran it through
508. 1:27:36code interpreter I mean stranger shit's happened here's another little chart and graph like it's just going uh would you like
509. 1:27:45to explore any others so anyway you can keep doing that so yeah I I would go play there the other thing that I think could be interesting
510. 1:27:54um is if you haven't played with Khan Academy k-a-h-n so the Khan Academy has been around for decades now and you know
511. 1:28:04they're the ones that are sort of the flip the classroom right right they give you all the all the the cool um lessons
512. 1:28:12a few months ago they released conmigo which is a GPT for teaching assistant that's part of Khan Academy
513. 1:28:20and it would be interesting and it uses the Socratic method like if a student just goes in and goes just give me the
514. 1:28:25answer to this problem it actually will start querying the student about whether or not they actually understand the
515. 1:28:32concepts and the problem and if not it will teach them it will it it will do the querying so so like that's again
516. 1:28:39it's the kind of thing where where I feel like doing it in the classroom with students exploring how that tool works and how
517. 1:28:49it's different than how they've done homework in the past and what does that mean for homework in the future and
518. 1:28:54what's good about it what's bad about it where did it break down that could be really interesting too so again my my lack of mathematical
519. 1:29:06prowess has haunted me once again fingerster fine no I do the I do the Twirls I do the Twirls
520. 1:29:23all right if I wait I have if start CS University or do I choose other Courier
521. 1:29:38oh you have a dilemma okay do you start computer science university or do you choose another career oh really good question um
522. 1:29:53that's a good one that's I don't know listen Minnie I don't know what to tell you um it depends on your goals if you want to be a coder
523. 1:30:09I don't think that coders per se are going to be around for long like I that that doesn't feel right to me
524. 1:30:19if you can find a computer science program that's leaning heavy into AI there's kind of two places you can play
525. 1:30:27with AI you can play on the on the model side and on the data science side and and you know all of that the engineering side
526. 1:30:37if you want to do that there's going to be a need for people to do that but you're going to have to be very very AI
527. 1:30:42literate so so what I would say is in combination with going to computer science program start to get involved with programs like
528. 1:30:53Lang chain and auto GPT and GPT for all and all the open source llama projects that are out there start paying attention to and get
529. 1:31:07involved with open source projects working on AI um go start to watch the videos of a guy named David Shapiro on YouTube like
530. 1:31:20go down the rabbit hole so if you're getting AI literate and and really going down the rabbit hole of AI
531. 1:31:28and you're learning computer science skills the marriage of those two I think is going to be quite valuable
532. 1:31:35if you just want to be a coder like tactical execution like I just want to do code I just want to do code
533. 1:31:41that shit's gonna get automated it's going to get automated out pretty quickly like by the time you finish your
534. 1:31:46University it's going to be out so I think you need to layer on the generative AI stuff on top of it if you enjoy other stuff like
535. 1:31:55you you might go other directions but there's another side of AI that you can play with which is um the application layer so so if you
536. 1:32:05think about gpt4 the the base large language model of the chat GPT is is drawing on sits down here so if you're if you're in
537. 1:32:17computer science if you're a data scientist and a mathematician and you're working on the models themselves that's
538. 1:32:23the sort of the geeky layer right but then there's the application layer chat GPT lives up here Chachi PT is sitting
539. 1:32:29on top of this large language model and Chachi PT is just like a a relatively simple tool sitting on top of
540. 1:32:38this to prove the concept that what's under here is really powerful that's why it was created that's that's all it is
541. 1:32:43it just so happened that you know it got 100 million users in six weeks and completely changed the world
542. 1:32:49but that wasn't that wasn't really its intent um that just was the byproduct of it happening to happen happening to be
543. 1:32:56something that you know um was at the right place at the right time in history and and it became the The Golden Child of of this movement um
544. 1:33:07playing in the application layer you might not need to know coding and programming and things like that you
545. 1:33:14could you could be a product person or an interface person or you know someone that starts a company that's building
546. 1:33:21applications on top of these models so so I think you have a choice to make do I want to play Down In sort of this base
547. 1:33:27layer where all the the math and science and and Engineering is yeah great do that but get way up to speed on all the
548. 1:33:36open source projects and how these things work and you know do that lean into that heavy um I would not go to a computer science
549. 1:33:44program that's not heavily leaning toward this stuff um and then yeah like I you know I would go back to what do you enjoy when I went
550. 1:33:56into uh Penn State I really liked the theater and I thought yeah but you can't you can't have a life as an actor that's not a thing you do
551. 1:34:07so I went as a computer science major and then I walked into my first computer science class and it was a room full of
552. 1:34:13IBM mainframes and they said you're going to be running reports for Fortune 500 companies for the rest of your life
553. 1:34:18and I'm like Over My Dead Body and I changed my major theater um so you you know I would say know what you enjoy know what you're passionate

621. 1:44:48could literally give it a list of rules and then say now write me an email and follow those rules so that may help
622. 1:44:55the other thing that you can do is you might give it that same opening I want you to act as a you know business
623. 1:45:02copywriter that follows these rules but then say here's an example email of the way I like to write my emails so literally paste

681. 1:54:24could put this all in an automation you could have chat gbt write a voiceover of a 30 second commercial or 30 second video
682. 1:54:37you could then have it describe the person that's saying those words oh and then you could you could have it
683. 1:54:46write the prompt to make that person then you could have it create an image of the scene that it's talking about
684. 1:54:56then you could take the image of the scene take that into Runway generate a video clip also generate a prompt for music for
685. 1:55:11background music for that scene and take that to some music generation too so so basically you could create an
686. 1:55:18automation that writes all the prompts to write all the elements of a 30-second spot with a voice over background music video
687. 1:55:30images and a talking head and and then you know subtitles and [ __ ] you know like lower thirds and titles and things like that
688. 1:55:40and and that would be an interesting project right like that would be something that would be like that would
