143. 30:01made 150 gpts for nonprofits amazing and people are still making them so um the first three links the first
144. 30:09one's the directory excuse me the first one's the directory the second one is the YouTube channel where the playbacks
145. 30:16of those events were and then the third one is the The Prompt sheet that we used to teach people how to do it side hustle
146. 30:23Mimi so so that lunar stick that was only one week ago that was last weekend that was a week ago tonight I know it
147. 30:31feels like a month ago that that thing happened it really does um and then the fourth link is to the mighty networks
148. 30:39the AI salon so if you're just getting started with AI or if you're trying to figure this stuff out or if you're one of the

153. 31:26learn really freely and you can also share everything you learn really freely because it's not proprietary right now

163. 33:27old guy talking about Ai and he got a bottle of blands and this seems kind of interesting if you're trying to figure
164. 33:34out where to start with AI the best place to start with AI is chat GPT in my opinion as as as they say in marketing
165. 33:45it was the first and it's still the best um it was the first and it's still the best um even chat GPT 3.5 which is the
166. 33:52free version of chat GPT is essentially better than most things out there um and there's there's a lot of reasons
167. 34:02why but largely it comes down to they did better at getting better data so the the data that chat jpt is trained on um
168. 34:11is is you know a lot of the public internet as much as they could get their hands on and and they really focused on
169. 34:18this this was sort of four or five years in the making um by the time we got to chat gpt3 or or just gpt3 which is the base model
170. 34:27um you know they've been collecting data for years and years and years and training these things and so so anyway
171. 34:34so you just start with chat GPT um if you can afford the 20 bucks a month you you absolutely want to get GPT plus
172. 34:43which is chat GPT 4 um here's why let me go show you over at the AI Salon I'll show you a little a little
173. 34:52something is well first of all when you get to the AI Salon this is the Network site please go check out the welcome to the salon
174. 35:00section and check out our values so the values are really really important to me and and to the community quite frankly
175. 35:07so these values are not just things we made up this is who this community already is but it's growing very fast so
176. 35:14as we grow I want to make sure that these values are supported and and ongoing right so curiosity is one of them generosity exploration
177. 35:25collaboration be willing to work with people inclusion related and empathy you know there's there's a lot
178. 35:32of fear right now there's a lot of anger so um you know all those people that are like I don't want to hear about your
179. 35:38stupid AI stuff they're scared right and if if we can demystify it and make it safe for them then then the world's
180. 35:44going to be a better place um lunatick just finished number 80 I have published 80 gpts for public use since November 6
181. 35:53that's absolutely amazing absolutely amazing um in the community section there's a showand tell so one of the really cool
182. 36:02fun things about these lives is that the show Andel section of the AI Salon kind of becomes a jam session um during these
183. 36:09lives and it's also where people are sharing their gpts and they're sharing what they're learning in making images
184. 36:16and making songs and and making videos and it's it's just this this amazing vibrant place oh D Danielle made me a um a Tucker
185. 36:27a a Tucker so so I had a black lab named Tucker he was the best and so this is a a thing she's been making with a a puppy
186. 36:36and the older dog and the reflection in the shadow that one looks like Tucker um so go check that out but go to AI tools and
187. 36:46resources this list at AI tools and resources still loading look at Tucker for a bit more apparently come on come on internet

189. 37:14[Music] on okay AI tools and resources so one of the so so what this is in AI tools and resources this is a list of the things
190. 37:26that if you're just getting started or even if you're not if if you're if you're into this for a while this is
191. 37:32this is a fairly long list this has got nine different large language models that I think are worth you paying
192. 37:37attention to it's got image generation tools it's got video generation tools 3D tools it's got people to follow so it's
193. 37:44a bunch of stuff but the very first thing I have here is chat GPT and I and I talk about um chat GPT 3.5 the free
194. 37:53version of it still has a lot to play with um it's got these things called custom instructions it's got
195. 38:00conversational um GPT uh which if you download the the iOS or the Android app of the official chat GPT app not one of
196. 38:10the fakers make sure you get the real one from open AI you can actually talk to chat GPT have a conversation with it
197. 38:17that's pretty amazing and then gp4 there's all these different things that it does on top of 3.5 um so so just go you know look at
198. 38:28this and then and then you know I would encourage you to you know scroll through this list and explore all these
199. 38:33different tools they're they're these are all ones that I promise you are not a waste of your time there are a lot of
200. 38:39tools that are a waste of your time all right everyone I try to talk to is afraid of AI to have fun with it what do
201. 38:45you say to them so Shadow Ranger it's a great question the the first thing that that I do with people that are afraid of
202. 38:55AI and dismiss it is is I acknowledge I I try to go into a place of empathy and I acknowledge that yeah it it it it
203. 39:03probably seems really scary and yeah we've you know we've seen movies for 50 years telling us that the robots are
204. 39:10going to kill us absolutely um and then and then the thing that I do the most is here's here's what I can promise
205. 39:20you you can't convince someone with words not even convinced you can't describe to someone with words in my
206. 39:30opinion I haven't figured out a way to do it yet what AI is and why it's exciting and I don't mean AI in general
207. 39:37I mean generative AI you know the AI that we've been playing with since November 30th of 2022 the chat GPT right this this sort
208. 39:48of consumer grade interface sitting on top of these incredibly powerful machine learning tools it is it is it's impossible to describe
209. 40:02because if you say well you ask it anything and it tells you anything or you or it can program or it can it can
210. 40:11make a table or it can write a poem like it it it just all sounds like horseshit so the only way that I found
211. 40:19to sort of crack through the noise of someone's fear is to make it relevant to them and so if you know someone right
212. 40:31and you say oh I'm really into AI like well I hate AI or I'm scared of it or or just they're pissy about it well just
213. 40:37I'm tired of you talking about that AI stuff what I do is I acknowledge Their Fear I acknowledge that yeah you know
214. 40:45what these tools are janky they don't spell right they're they're they're you know not perfect but you want to see
215. 40:53something cool and then what I'll try to do is I'll try to do something that is is relevant to that person so if I know
216. 41:01that they're into gardening for example I did this one night I was at a uh a small business class for the United Way
217. 41:09or for I think it was the United Way and so it was small business people and they didn't know what a AI was and
218. 41:17so I was talking and and they were there some of them were sitting with their arms crossed like this and you know
219. 41:23these are small business people they're worried about like payroll you know accounting and stuff like that they
220. 41:29weren't necessarily hopping up and down about Ai and I said um you know what's you know someone in here tell me your
221. 41:36business and she said oh I'm I've got a a gardening business I said oh okay cool and I popped open chat GPT and I said um
222. 41:46create how did I say it create a gardening plan for this time of year in Denver um for a customer who um isn't really into gardening and
223. 42:00doesn't have time to tend to their garden and then it it generated a whole gardening plan in like like
224. 42:07that and her her response like her mouth literally dropped open she went like this and then she goes that's what I do every
225. 42:21day and like in that moment because she knows what it takes to do a gardening plan for a client and she watched this stupid tool
226. 42:35on a computer screen just [ __ ] knock it out in 10 seconds it brought it to life for her so so I I think that's the way to do it um
227. 42:45the other thing I'll do is I'll just I have like a bag of what I call parlor tricks in my pocket um with chat GPT and
228. 42:53and you know and they're just dumb things that if like like if I don't know the person or if I if they're just like
229. 42:59Kyle what what is this AI stuff you seem to know a lot about AI just what is it what is it is it just like it's just
230. 43:06like Google right it looks like Google is it just like Google and I'm like well the interface is like Google but it's
231. 43:12it's much deeper than that and I'll say for example let's ask it to um explain quantum mechanics in an M&M rap and then
232. 43:23it will and they go oh and then I'll show him another one where I'll I'll create a table comparing two things and
233. 43:30it writes and formats a table and then I'll show that it writes code and even if you don't know anything about
234. 43:37computer programming when you watch it write code you're like oh that's kind of impressive and then they immediately go
235. 43:45but does it work you know um and then after I sort of crack the ice with the parlor tricks then I'll ask them well
236. 43:52tell me something you're into and it's kind of what we do here here in the in these lives is you know I'll just have
237. 43:58someone pop in and ask a question I'll say well let's go play with that and so I'll just ask people what they're into
238. 44:04and then and then kind of run down the rabbit hole and more often than not within five minutes or so I can get someone to their
239. 44:13first Kevin mallister moment right their first and that's just [ __ ] Joy right because when when someone gets in their
240. 44:24head how different this is than how they've used computers in the past you kind of can't unsee it I mean if you're
241. 44:33if you're in here on with any regularity you understand that innately right very deeply um but but I think the most

246. 45:17pissed off about this stuff a lot of musicians right now are terrified of this and really pissed off about it like that's not
247. 45:26th those feelings are not invalid like those emotions are not insignificant they're really really important everyone including myself I
248. 45:35mean I went through the better part of this past year in in Fairly significant existential crisis about my business
249. 45:43I've got an automated video storytelling platform that doesn't use AI for its automation by the way where the automation the automated
250. 45:54editing is one of our value propositions and Along Comes this technology that's going to automate everything including
251. 46:01editing including storytelling a core part of of what I've spent 11 and a half years building is going to be valueless within a year
252. 46:14relatively there's other things that it does that go up in value but like this shit's scary and so acknowledging that
253. 46:21and acknowledging sort of where people are I think is critical and and you know [ __ ] make of AI like like go yeah
254. 46:28this it's janky this is janky ass software like it's it's not ready for prime time you know you're absolutely
255. 46:35right to question it but in the meantime you want to see something cool and then just show them something cool and get

257. 46:48seen I'm trying to think I've seen a handful of people that sort of pull back from it because they realize it's
258. 46:55getting so so good that they really have to think about what their art is and what they want to do and then they're

260. 47:09fear it's a different kind of fear it's more like a like a like an evaluation of okay what are my PRI priorities right
261. 47:15now and then some people really lean into it after that and some people pull back and like that I totally respect
262. 47:24um but the thing that drives me [ __ ] baddy is when people are just like angry about it and they've never tried it and

276. 49:43know anyone who's who's really tried AI like there there's a difference between I went to chat GPT once and I typed in
277. 49:49something and yeah yeah I used it no no there's a difference between that and using it long enough to have chat GPT do something that you
278. 49:59deeply understand and when it does something that you understand and you see how fast it does it and how well it does it
279. 50:09that's generally a Kevin mallister moment that's generally this moment where you're just like uh oh oh it does that
280. 50:20uh uh should I look for a new job like it like it it's not always Pleasant right but it's always impactful accountable watch I'm not
281. 50:35afraid anymore exactly there's something about playing with these tools they they are they are a a lot less scary when you use them you
282. 50:48see that they're imperfect you see that they're janky you see that they're just tools you also see that when they get much
283. 51:00better some shit's going to change for for all of us and so there's this it's not a linear it's not a linear path with with
284. 51:16um oh I saw that Apple's going to launch sir is in AI assistant that's interesting Kayla yeah I've been I've been uh I've been dreading that
285. 51:26I think they should retire Siri and just start a new thing but listen it's it's their brand um yeah that's really
286. 51:36interesting it's not a linear path with this AI stuff it is it's it's very kind of cyclical where where one of the things that generative
287. 51:48AI does is it empowers you it like it it empowers your Humanity if you have always wanted to draw but you suck at
288. 51:56drawing but you have visions for what you would draw if you had the talent you can do that now if you can draw like a [ __ ] but you're not
289. 52:07good with the words and you thought it'd be swell if you could write a poem someday now you can if you were not good at programming
290. 52:17now you are if you were not good at English literature comparative literature now you are and so there's a
291. 52:26the sort of the sort of upslope of the experience is holy crap I can do so much like it it totally opens up your mind
292. 52:34and so so there are phases of it where it's like empowering and uplifting and you're like oh my God the the world is my
293. 52:43oyster you're singing with your dog everything's happy with the world and then there's other times you're like
294. 52:49wait a minute if this tool gets much better what is that whole industry going to do and then you kind of to go down
295. 52:55down the slope of like oh [ __ ] shit's going to change and then you go back up and then you go down and it's it's very much like
296. 53:03that that would be similar to Banning computers because typewriter manufacturers and repair shops would
297. 53:10lose their business yeah oh so so that's the other thing one of the things I try to do I try to do in here I am clearly
298. 53:16an optimist for this stuff right but I don't want like this is not blind optimism I try to be realistic in here as as as realistic as I can
299. 53:27and one of the things I actually try to avoid it's it's it's it's not completely avoidable in in a lot of ways
300. 53:38is any any judgment around you know is it good or bad that we have ai is AI good or bad is AI good or evil like all
301. 53:48of those all of those argu do we have AGI artificial general intelligence or not do you know have we passed the
302. 53:55Turning test or not there's all sorts of esoteric and and some of them are important you know some of the ethical
303. 54:03things are not esoteric they're actually important conversations but they're they're essentially um those conversations are
304. 54:17independent of the fact that these tools are here and they're not going away so what I what I'm trying to make this Channel about
305. 54:25is assuming that my hypothesis is right that these tools we're not in a hype cycle and this is not like
306. 54:36nfts and you know Crypt Bros where you know they deserve to go sit in the corner for a couple of years um this AI
307. 54:45stuff is not going away in fact it's it's here and it's getting better fast and it's accelerating if that's the case we can
308. 54:55have all the conversation about ethics and responsibility and safety and privacy we want and we need to understand what it is we need to
309. 55:05understand what's here we need to understand what's coming the only way to do that is to use it and so I try to
310. 55:12avoid you know conversations about well should we have ai it doesn't matter it's here um and then yeah and when you use it it
311. 55:24it does it it it de it removes some of the power of your fantasy right your fantasy of what AI is um do you think AI will
312. 55:40get banned to some country to keep jobs oh banned in some countries to keep jobs no I don't I don't because because what
313. 55:51what governments are going to well I mean it may get banned in in some countries because it puts too much power
314. 55:59in the hands of individuals if you're in a country where you know power of the individual is fr frowned upon I could
315. 56:06see it being banned for that but but it won't be banned for an economic thing like to protect the buggy industry from the evil
316. 56:16internal combustion engine Vehicles right I like I I think I think companies or countries governments recognize
317. 56:25that a key to increasing productivity is is going to be these tools so so I don't I don't see it being um done like that I think in some
318. 56:37Industries you're going to absolutely see what I'm calling Kodak moments we've got Kevin McAllister moments and we've
319. 56:43got Kodak moments and my definition of Kodak moments are not the one where you're standing you know with a sunset
320. 56:49behind you and you take a lovely picture of it I'm talking about the Kodak moment where the the team that invented the digital

342. 1:00:34described it gives me a little hint why something may be happening Google searches for the past 15 or 20 years have trained us to put
343. 1:00:44kind of the the minimum amount into the Google search bar to get the best results chat GPT and all L large
344. 1:00:53language models are kind of the opposite in terms of their behavior large language models do better when you give
345. 1:00:59them lots of context so so rather than just saying write me a business plan for my startup about you know shaving dogs whatever it
346. 1:01:10is um give it context I want you to act as a business consultant that works with startups in in the petgroooming industry
347. 1:01:20um here's my background here's my company's background here's what the company is called um um here's uh the town we live in and
348. 1:01:32what's going on here economically and this and that can you help me write the outline of a business plan for this
349. 1:01:39business and then it will be much better giving giving the large language model that context the way these things work
350. 1:01:47is they've been trained on so much data that if you just give it a thin generic prompt like a simple little phrase it sort of
351. 1:01:57amalgamates all of what's been on the internet for 40 years into a a kind of generic shitty answer but if you give it
352. 1:02:06all this other context it Narrows its knowledge window increasingly and so when it's writing your answer it's writing it from a much
353. 1:02:14more focused data set for for lack of a better term it's not quite how it works but it's it's in the neighborhood okay let me let me get a
354. 1:02:23couple more comments here I asked AI why there's a speed limit on spooky action at a distance couldn't even get close to an
355. 1:02:32answer well let's go let's go try that Kyle what would you consider to be the next step to learn after gpts what's the next level
356. 1:02:44um well I would say I would say keep making gpts um and and get increasingly sophisticated with them like like
357. 1:02:55Daisy's made 80 of them now um and and some of the ones she's been describing recently are are pretty sophisticated
358. 1:03:03like the knowledge sets the the the know the data that she's putting into her gpts is what's making them special so
359. 1:03:10it's a combination of learning the prompting doing that I would say learning to add actions to gpts so actually using the API interface for
360. 1:03:18gpts is a good next action um I would also say really starting to get your head around what's happening with video
361. 1:03:32audio um the the Avatar animations and synthesis all that sort of stuff is is important to learn so it's not just chat GPT I'd say go beyond
362. 1:03:45that um and then and then I think that the the the the that the real answer is like the answer isn't always in learning
363. 1:03:57other Technologies maybe the next thing after learning gpts is go find a business that needs help and see if and offer to help them
364. 1:04:10for free or for really cheap and just let them know hey I'm learning AI I know that you've got marketing issues I want
365. 1:04:17to teach myself how to do marketing at a worldclass level using chat GPT are you willing to be my guinea pig like like
366. 1:04:26switch from the technology to the to the real world application of it I feel I I feel like you learn way more when you
367. 1:04:35when you're solving a problem than when you're just trying to read the manual right and there are no manuals right now
368. 1:04:42but it's just like if you're just trying to learn like what is chat GPT what's it good at what's it not good at let me
369. 1:04:48think of all the ways that I could prompt it to try to figure out what it's good at or not you don't learn nearly as
370. 1:04:53much doing that Lord digital Gods thank you for the rues you don't learn nearly as much doing that as when you say I'm working
371. 1:05:01for a pizza company and we just wrote a bunch of ads and the owner hated them all right how do I do this better so that that the owner loves
372. 1:05:10them um are apis like ift or shortcuts um they're sort of like that gravity jump so so API stands for application programming
373. 1:05:20interface if and zappier and these automation tools they use a lot of apis basically what an API is is an API lets this
374. 1:05:31service talk to this service from a computer standpoint so if you want your GPT to talk to Google maps to put a pin
375. 1:05:41on a map from some location your GPT found for a vacation spot then you would use the Google Maps API to connect your
376. 1:05:50GPT with Google Maps and place that pin so it just allows two pieces of software to talk to one another and then if
377. 1:05:57zapier and make they put kind of a friendly front end on top of apis so that you don't have it if you're a
378. 1:06:06programmer you have to code apis what zappier does and what ift does is they hide all of that [ __ ] and you just sort
379. 1:06:15of connect this Lego block to that Lego block but what's happening underneath it is there's code where those apis are
380. 1:06:21talking to one another so it's in the neighborhood are gpts only good for getting information from a company
381. 1:06:28website no no they're they they they can they they've got full access to to all of the capabilities of
382. 1:06:36gp4 so they can make images they can see images like you can upload an image to a GPT um Corey Sandler from Corey Sandler
383. 1:06:46pottery made a GPT where you upload an image of your face without glasses and then it will sort of recreate your face
384. 1:06:54with wacky glasses on it and you can describe the kind of glasses you want it's it's a sort of glasses making thing
385. 1:07:01um you can also it's you you can point a GPT to a website as the knowledge base but you can also upload PDFs of knowledge to the
386. 1:07:11GPT all right what are the cards you have in your picture and picture those are those are a so so one of the inside
387. 1:07:21jokes with the AI learning lab are we have the AI learning lab Zoo so we have hedgehogs and turtles and llamas and
388. 1:07:29there's been a lot of controversy lately with people trying to add Rogue animals to the AI learning lab Zoo like like
389. 1:07:37Cindy [ __ ] has added raccoons uh she got in through a technicality it was not a popular decision there were a lot of protests so
390. 1:07:45so these were um I I forget who did this um but these were the an attempt to say here's how we could organize the the the
391. 1:07:54AI learning lab animals with trading cards which I thought was cute just a just a silly little action all
392. 1:08:06right I love solving problems that's my art oh that's Emilio's wife's art oh that's right Emilio's wife yeah exactly
393. 1:08:14so and I think it's actually a great idea I mean and and we are certainly in an era where you're going to be able to
394. 1:08:21just if you want to come up with cards like these and have them printed printed you'll just be able to knock it out over a

399. 1:09:08diagnosis and whatever the text is that shows up on screen when a person's telling their story so I created a a
400. 1:09:14spreadsheet where you pop in the English and then the the the row the top row you put in all the different
401. 1:09:23languages you want those lower thirds translated into and it just does all the translations so you pop in the the
402. 1:09:32English lower thirds and it's just like here's Spanish here's German here's Japanese here's Hindi here's this here's
403. 1:09:38that and it's just magical it just goes like you know calculating or whatever it says and it just goes and it just
404. 1:09:44populates the thing absolutely amazing creative roots I got inspired to start an ebook after your last live creative

410. 1:10:31one and and then like within within a day he had he had written an ebook about his whole philosophy of how do you how how do you
411. 1:10:41like buy and manage these self- storage businesses and and so like a week later he's like Kyle I got a book I'm like
412. 1:10:50what are you talking about he showed me a picture of it he goes he goes I made this book and so he's he's taken like
413. 1:10:56all the ideas we have in here and he just applies them to his business regularly and like anywhere he's
414. 1:11:01learning he's just a sponge and he just tries it out so one night one night I was in here and I was showing off sunno
415. 1:11:09which is this tool that makes these stupid songs right you just give it a a a topic and it'll write a song with
416. 1:11:16lyrics right and sing it for you and so while I was talking about it he had just gotten out of a meeting with with
417. 1:11:25someone and he thought I know I'll I'll send them a song so he went to sunno and and wrote a song about them working
418. 1:11:34together and you know succeeding in the storage business together sent him the song and five minutes later they wrote
419. 1:11:41him back an email and said you're hired like or you know we're in the deal's done so um just so you you should

435. 1:14:06never written a line of python in my life still haven't that was that was my first one where I was like oh [ __ ] like the world's
436. 1:14:14different I don't care what anyone says at this point they can put poo at all they want when you've experienced
437. 1:14:21something like that if you've ever tried to teach yourself a programming language and and and just get past hello world even to get to hello
438. 1:14:32world and then you just instantly generate a python application with no effort little effort it's it's a it's a mind-blowing thing
439. 1:14:43and then yeah it's ongoing Kevin McAllister moments we are adding a Blanton's horse to the zoo I hope oh we
440. 1:14:51should absolutely add a blandon's horse to the zoo so if you don't know about the blandon's horses so there's
441. 1:15:04a an early filmmaker named Edward mbridge and he's the one that did the famous film of the horse running it was

451. 1:16:46make chat GPT make one of the things that it's good at I think it's actually better at this than generating stuff wholesale it's
452. 1:16:55really good at analyzing other documents I I've uploaded screenplays and it analyzes the [ __ ] out of my
453. 1:17:01screenplays you can upload code and tell it to find the bugs in the code in this case Jonathan by um had it scan a bunch
454. 1:17:09of code and find malicious code within the code holy [ __ ] right it's really good at that we'll have to do a marathon
455. 1:17:17of GPT and integration tools at some point point yeah so Drew I'm gonna I'm going to itely get my my [ __ ] together
456. 1:17:25with apis because a I think they're going to get much easier to implement um but but I think it's it it's so
457. 1:17:32important for for this community to understand that that you don't need to be a programmer to do really sophisticated
