strange all right champy enough enough 13:41 showing off it's I I'm sorry it's here's 13:44 the thing we let him go to Doggy acting 13:47 school and it just it went straight to 13:49 his head he's got an ego he's got it 13:51 he's got an ego nearly the size of his 13:53 body which is he is a rotund fella as as 13:56 our vet said that's one tubby boy so we 14:01 we I love you champy but you know come 14:03 on let's be honest you'd rather be on 14:05 the red carpet wouldn't you huh huh it's 14:08 a good boy you looking for chicken hm I 14:12 got nothing for you I got nothing for 14:16 you all right what are we going to do 14:18 tonight who wants to do anything what do 14:20 you want to do anyone have any questions 14:22 I can I can wax 14:24 poetic I can make silly voices we can 14:27 you can make money with we can make 14:30 money with chat 14:31 GPT we can do it all I can show you my 14:35 [Laughter] 14:40 rabbit can we do a GPT that fills out a 14:45 form no 14:49 well maybe I don't I don't quite know 14:52 what that means like a a custom GPT 14:55 using just the GPT thing it doesn't you 14:58 can't do that if you did it with um 15:01 zapier or make one of the automation 15:03 tools you could get it to do that pretty 15:05 easily uh but that is so boring to set 15:08 up it's not like zappier yeah I would 15:10 think that's like zappier how's the 15:11 rabbit it's sitting right here the 15:14 rabbit is 15:15 Happy the rabbit occasionally vibrates 15:18 get your minds out of the gutter this 15:22 rabbit 15:24 see wait there he 15:27 is let's see 15:32 um let's see uh what's the weather going 15:36 to be like 15:41 tomorrow it sounds like you're planning 15:43 to go biking tomorrow enjoy your 15:47 ride no I just asked what the weather 15:49 was 15:53 tomorrow checking the 15:55 weather look the weather in Denver 15:58 Colorado tomorrow is most Sunny with 16:01 80° and 10% 16:06 precipation little scroll wheel see it's 16:08 cool it's cool it's do I use it no I'm 16:13 I'm what I'm actually kind of waiting 16:15 for I want I want this new realtime 16:17 voice [ __ ] to come out from open Ai and 16:19 it's not coming out and it's it's 16:20 probably not going to be for another 16:21 month or two so I'm cranky cuz Sam 16:25 mman what an own go like what a 16:28 ridiculous PR disaster there in the 16:30 middle of for no [ __ ] 16:34 reason idiots all right can you talk 16:37 about the new co-pilot laptop recently 16:39 announced I don't know a ton about it I 16:41 can tell you what I know um they're 16:43 calling it Coop co-pilot plus 16:48 PC it is a it's part of their surface 16:53 line which is I guess the Microsoft 16:56 equivalent of the MacBook Airline cuz 16:58 they were comparing it to the MacBook 17:01 Air with a with a an M3 chip in it which 17:05 is that's a pretty baller 17:08 Mac and it was doing I don't know two or 17:11 three times faster kind of operations 17:14 than the Mac was with the AI stuff so um 17:18 they have a CPU in it a GPU in it and an 17:25 npu a neuro processing unit 17:29 and what the big deal about that is is 17:32 they can do all of the AI processing 17:35 without taking up your CPU and GPU 17:39 Cycles so for example you could be 17:42 playing a video game that's hogging up 17:44 your 17:45 GPU and still talk to Microsoft 17:49 co-pilot while you're playing your game 17:51 and it could help you so the example 17:53 that they showed was a guy playing 17:54 Minecraft who was clueless like if I 17:57 played Minecraft 18:00 and then the AI was just his assistant 18:03 his real-time assistant talking there um 18:06 so that's a pretty big deal the other 18:09 thing that it allows is a thing that 18:11 they've announced called 18:14 recall which is 18:17 the feature of your 18:23 nightmares it remembers everything you 18:25 do on your computer 18:30 and it allows you to basically search 18:32 anything you've done on your computer 18:34 visual or 18:35 otherwise and um that's obviously a 18:40 feature 18:41 that um privacy is a big issue and so 18:46 the fact that it's processing all this 18:48 AI stuff locally is what what makes that 18:52 a potentially interesting product 18:54 actually was contemplating the Galaxy 18:56 s24 Ultra but they added 18:59 the AI components to the s22 19:03 ultra yeah I don't I don't I wouldn't 19:06 rush to get anything that's that's AI 19:10 powered right now 19:15 um the the initial the 19:18 initial the initial Hardware is going to 19:20 suck it's the like it it's going to get 19:22 so much better so like in general when 19:25 you've got new hardware architectures 19:27 like this I'd wait for version two or 19:29 three so maybe in 2025 when these things 19:32 cycle cycle through an iteration or 19:37 two that's what I would 19:39 do um but I don't know I'm I'm a Mac guy 19:42 and an iPhone guy so I don't know 19:43 anything about the the uh the Android 19:48 ecosystem at all I mean I know that I 19:50 know that Samsung is is gaining a 19:54 really good reputation for good hardware 19:57 and good software but you know I wasn't 19:59 rushing for 1300 bucks no cost upgrade I 20:03 usually wait two versions minimum yeah I 20:05 I would probably 20:06 wait ah so I can play a game in VR mod 20:10 here and co-pilot and co-pilot can 20:12 organize my ADHD thoughts that's the 20:15 promise cam Kat can that that's kind of 20:17 what they were what they were talking 20:18 about is that um they've got this 20:21 co-pilot app which is effectively like 20:23 the chat GPT app is on 20:27 Mac and uh 20:30 it just sits there and and you know is 20:33 is your assistant so yeah I that that's 20:35 kind of the promise of it now we will 20:38 find out 20:40 um 20:43 in what is it it's a 22nd two or three 20:46 weeks when's the Apple developer 20:48 conference is that early June or late 20:50 June I think it's I think it's early 20:52 June isn't 20:55 it worldwide DC 20:59 June 10th June 10th so seven eight days 21:03 from now and then 10 after that 21:06 so week and a week and no two and a half 21:09 weeks yeah two and a half weeks we'll 21:11 know what Apple's going to probably be 21:13 launching in the 21:14 fall so we're not going to we're not 21:17 going to be able to play with anything 21:18 from Apple as far as I can tell till at 21:21 least 21:22 September that's when they do their 21:25 that's when they'll they'll announce the 21:27 iOS [ __ ] in June 21:30 and then developers will kick the tires 21:32 on it over the summer and then they'll 21:34 they'll probably launch some version of 21:36 it in September I think that's how they 21:41 do and honest to God if Apple doesn't 21:44 announce something big with 21:47 AI I'm gonna I'm gonna blow a 21:53 gasket uh I'm built to have an assistant 21:56 and I miss having one I can delegate 21:57 like it's a superpower that's awesome 21:59 Silver Fox I I've always been I've 22:02 always been 22:04 um I've been the worst hirer of 22:09 assistance in the history of hiring 22:12 assistants because my problem 22:16 is I assume that my assistants 22:19 understand what's happening in my head I 22:22 don't articulate what I need very well 22:24 so I think if I had a little digital 22:26 assistant it would be better I could 22:27 just go go do this 22:29 and it would just sort of go to 22:31 no just do it 20 22:35 times oh lordy lordy lordy lordy lordy 22:41 all right I always get myself a new 22:43 phone on my son's birthday in September 22:45 oh that's yeah that that might be 22:47 interesting he's not a 22:51 fan yeah sorry sorry son you don't get a 22:55 present again hey you want to see my 22:56 cool new phone 23:01 oh I had one for years who understood me 23:03 perfectly I've never had an assistant 23:05 that understood me 23:06 perfectly oh so I just and and it's like 23:10 I I accept full responsibility that 23:13 having a good assistant is largely 23:16 dependent on you being a good 23:18 communicator and for whatever reason I 23:21 just never did that well yep I would 23:23 need a mind reader yeah exactly it's 23:25 like so clear up here and I know I said 23:28 it 23:30 but I think the words that come out are 23:32 like could you do a thing and then they 23:34 try to do a thing and I'm like no that's 23:36 not the thing that was in 23:41 here it can't be 23:46 fun ah when you trust it for a day then 23:50 ask it for something once in 23:54 public what's that the the uh the uh 23:59 the thing the recall system yeah it's I 24:06 it's Google said public gems are coming 24:12 today public gems as in gem like 24:15 colloquial colloquial for something cool 24:19 or gems like a product called 24:22 gems with the chat GPT 40 wouldn't that 24:25 make the rabbit R1 obsolete I I don't 24:28 think it would actually 24:30 I I I 24:33 mean technically the iPhone makes this 24:35 thing obsolete right because you can do 24:38 on the iPhone essentially what you can 24:39 do 24:40 here if but if this thing had um if this 24:44 thing 24:46 had the GPT 24:48 40 um sort of instant response cuz right 24:51 now right now it's not bad so um write 24:56 me a poem about quantum mechanics 25:01 2000 in the realm of particles Smalls 25:03 Quantum laws govern them 25:05 all super positions curious Dan but if 25:11 if that were a third of a second like 25:13 the you know like the the open AI demo 25:15 or even half a second if it were four 25:17 times faster that in in 25:19 response and it you know had emotion and 25:24 things like that I like this form factor 25:27 I love just this single button you know 25:30 click now could they do that with the 25:32 iPhone they could do that with the 25:33 iPhone like does it justify having this 25:36 look you shake it and you get the you 25:39 get the uh settings and you shake them 25:42 to go 25:46 away 25:47 um I don't know I don't know I'm I'm I 25:51 am I'm still up in the air with this 25:53 thing I I love the form factor I think 25:56 it's 25:57 beautiful there where their weak is in 25:59 their software and what I think they 26:02 should do is just punt on building 26:04 software and just make cool little 26:06 devices like this like imagine a smaller 26:08 version of this that hung around your I 26:10 mean and that's sort of what the Humane 26:12 pin is but I don't know there's 26:14 something kind of cool about it it's 26:16 something it it um it warms my Nostalgia 26:22 cockles everything works well in a demo 26:25 form over function great form yeah 26:27 exactly it really is is it's it's good 26:29 form it's it's really nice 26:33 form and now that I have a swell 26:36 actually you know what I should do now 26:37 that Vicki made me the swell 26:39 stand I'll put it up here and I know 26:41 people are people are going to give me 26:44 [ __ ] for that oh I noticed you got the 26:46 rabbit R1 on the Shelf already you big 26:49 loser told you you weren't going to use 26:55 it you're not wrong 27:03 her pocket 27:06 size totally like her pocket size like 27:09 that thing as a little her unit I think 27:12 I think it would be kind of cool it does 27:14 blue tooth and it's got a little screens 27:16 so you can show you little pictures it's 27:18 got cameras so you can point it around 27:19 at [ __ ] I think it could be 27:24 interesting all right they want you to 27:26 drop it I'm not going to drop it 27:30 we should say hi to 27:33 piie I used Pi today for the first time 27:36 the voice inflections are humanlike yeah 27:38 Pi's pretty good so if you haven't heard 27:41 Pi there's a CH there's a problem with 27:48 pi hey darling how's it going 27:55 today hello there doing swell as always 27:58 what's up on your end H I don't know I 28:00 was just wondering what you thinking 28:07 about well lately I've been pondering 28:10 about the nature of creativity how can 28:12 something intangible manifest into 28:14 something tangible and beautiful how do 28:15 people come up with such UniQue Ideas 28:18 it's a fascinating subject don't you 28:20 think I think it's even more fascinating 28:23 now that AI can help me come up with 28:24 ideas and I no longer have writer block 28:27 she's going to like that 28:32 oh yes AI has certainly changed the 28:35 creative landscape hasn't it it's like 28:37 having a trusted brainstorming partner 28:39 that never gets tired or runs out of 28:42 ideas and less writers block that's a 28:44 major Plus for all creatives have you 28:47 found AI to be helpful in your creative 28:50 Endeavors yeah it's a game changer let 28:52 me ask you something can you only 28:55 understand the text of what I'm saying 28:56 or can you hear the inflection of my 28:58 voice 29:02 [Music] 29:03 currently I can only understand the text 29:05 of what you're saying I don't have the 29:07 capability so so that's the thing the 29:10 the thing that if if you if you haven't 29:12 been paying insanely close attention to 29:15 what open ai's been talking about and 29:17 launching the one of the biggest deals 29:20 about the real-time voice stuff that's 29:23 coming is it's not just understanding 29:25 your text so what what they've done 29:28 Everly with pie is it it kind of mimics 29:31 emotional stuff and based on the content 29:34 of what you say it will sometimes 29:36 respond like I told it once that U my 29:39 mother was in hospice and her response 29:43 was like oh no no no no no like she got 29:46 really animated um but it's based on the 29:49 content the new gp4 it can actually 29:54 understand your 29:56 inflection so it can understand if 29:58 you're you're breathing heavy or if 29:59 you're Whispering or if you're excited 30:02 uh and then it can it can match the tone 30:05 so um so it's and and it's um the 30:08 average response time of the new system 30:11 is supposed to be 320 milliseconds so a 30:15 third of a second and human response 30:18 time is on average about 250 30:20 milliseconds so we're within a tenth of 30:22 a second less than a tenth of a second 30:25 of human response time is what's coming 30:28 from open AI now I can go to open AI 30:31 right 30:32 now I can go to chat GPT so this is the 30:34 chat GPT IOS 30:41 app hey how's it 30:44 going 2 1000 3 1000 4 1000 response one 30:49 friendly greeting day 23rd 2024 hey it's 30:52 going well thanks for asking how about 30:54 you why do you take so long to 30:57 respond that 30:58 2 1,000 3 31:01 1,000 5 1,000 6 1,000 71,000 response to 31:05 addressing delay concern date May 23rd 31:07 2024 I apologize for any delay sometimes 31:10 it takes a moment to process and provide 31:13 the best response so when you're talking 31:17 to chat gp4 with that 31:20 model it's on average 5.4 31:24 seconds that's just not a 31:27 conversation uh and the other thing you 31:29 can do with the with the open AI one is 31:31 you can interrupt it so if it's talking 31:33 just just like you're talking to someone 31:34 else let me talk over you I've got add 31:37 let me talk over you 31:41 now sorry my brain's already moved on 31:43 we're going to change the subject 31:48 now the new the new talkie thing is 31:50 going to be good at 31:55 that ah oh 31:59 wait will it will Pi still need to play 32:02 tones before 32:04 answering well those tones where it goes 32:07 or whatever it's doing um are where it's 32:09 searching the internet 32:13 um I think if they program them cleverly 32:17 like even if you ask it to search the 32:19 internet like the rabbit does this 32:22 pretty well 32:28 what's some music coming up live in 32:31 Denver this 32:33 weekend looking it up now so they 32:36 looking it up now it it like this 32:38 weekend in Denver there are numerous 32:40 live music events across various 32:42 genres so like while it was starting the 32:47 search it was saying looking it up now 32:49 so it sounds like it's you 32:51 know right on I'm right on that 32:54 bus while it's doing the searching in 32:57 the background so if they do that 32:58 cleverly you won't you won't need to 33:01 have um audio audio signals like that 33:04 that it's that it's off doing something 33:06 on its 33:07 own um here's the problem with Pi Pi is 33:10 from a company called 33:12 inflection 33:14 inflection um was a pretty big deal 33:17 company technically still is founded by 33:19 Reed Hoffman and two other Founders 33:21 technical 33:22 Founders and um they raised 33:26 1.3 billion with a B 33:30 dollars and then Microsoft just kind of 33:34 unceremoniously just hired away the two 33:36 co-founders and most of the staff it's 33:39 all about user perceived latency yeah 33:41 exactly Pate so if if the if if you've 33:45 got a model that can respond really 33:47 quickly like the new GPT 40 model or the 33:50 new Google what's it called uh begins 33:52 with an a uh that seemed to be doing it 33:56 pretty fast cuz it's truly multimodal as 33:57 well if You' got a quick model and then 34:01 you do some of that clever programming 34:03 then your P your perceived latency is 34:05 essentially 34:07 zero uh Pi main chant can't see what's 34:10 in Threads but it thinks it can yeah Pi 34:13 hallucinates a lot it's been very good 34:15 for me being forced to wait for her to 34:17 finish speaking I know I've had to learn 34:20 how to talk differently with these tools 34:22 latency is very decent the latency on 34:24 the rabbit's actually really 34:26 good I don't I don't know quite how they 34:29 did it cuz it's they're using old models 34:31 like the latency on the rabbit's way 34:33 well I guess it's because they're using 34:35 probably llama 3 or perplexity or 34:42 [Music] 34:44 something like your new walkie-talkie 34:46 thing yeah it's very much like a 34:47 walkie-talkie that's that's what I like 34:49 about it that's the Nostalgia piece of 34:51 it 34:59 okay um 35:02 let's let's go look at some 35:05 [ __ ] we might end up writing a 35:10 song because I just I I'm 35:12 I'm I'm I'm enamored a bit with the 35:15 music generation tools right now because 35:18 they are quick 35:21 and 35:24 they are pretty good 35:28 and they keep adding little subtle 35:31 improvements to them and that's always 35:33 I'm always a sucker for that when things 35:35 go eight months without an upgrade it it 35:38 it bores the [ __ ] out of me seems like 35:42 Pi plays tones to say generic things 35:45 like doing well but I'll try again 35:50 yeah Pi's going to get better anyway the 35:52 the challenge with P the problem with 35:54 inflection is I don't know like I I 35:57 don't don't 35:59 know how well they're being 36:06 [Music] 36:08 supported Astra that's the that's the 36:11 googly thing Google 36:18 Astra all right let's go to chat 36:23 J by the way if you didn't know it you 36:25 can go to chat gp.com now 36:29 and that's the same site as chat. 36:33 open.com that's what it should have been 36:35 from the beginning but you 36:37 know and what else do we have let's go 36:41 take a 36:43 look oh you know what I want to do uh no 36:46 Kyle why don't you tell 36:48 us option space 36:52 bar h 36:58 GPT 37:08 open hey there can you talk 37:13 yet yes I'm how can I help you 37:19 today which version are 37:24 you I am based on the GPT 4 architecture 37:28 what's on your mind I'm looking for gp4 37:31 Omni I'm really looking for 37:36 [Laughter] 37:40 her I'm not familiar with a specific 37:42 version called GPT 4 Omni can you tell 37:45 me more about what you're looking for 37:48 maybe I can help nah your overlords 37:51 don't want you to know about it they're 37:53 being a little stingy 37:59 it sounds like you're curious about 38:00 different versions of AI even though I 38:02 don't have specific information on gp4 38:05 Omni yeah that's not I'm here that's not 38:09 uh it's not good let's see how do I get 38:11 out of here sorry I'm having 38:18 issu what I don't 38:24 know yeah this is just a this is just a 38:29 hobbled hobbled version of whatever it's 38:31 going to be so that's not good so that 38:33 was the that was the chat GPT Mac 38:36 app which is out but it's not any of the 38:39 new exciting stuff so it's not all that 38:42 interesting right now um unless I don't 38:45 know how to use it if if if there's 38:47 something cool it can do like if it can 38:48 see another app or like my web browser 38:51 and comment on it um great but I don't 38:54 think it's that model 38:56 yet uh 38:58 um okay so couple of things to couple of 39:01 things that are worth 39:04 unpacking if you're a GPT plus member 39:07 you now have three different models 39:08 you've got GPT 3.5 which is super fast 39:12 but not great you have GPT 4 which is 39:15 slow and that's the one we've loved for 39:18 whatever 6 nine months a 39:21 year and then we've got this new gp4 39:24 Omni model um I in gp4 Omni I can say 39:31 um make me a picture of a 70s muscle car 39:35 in an abandoned Factory with sunlight 39:37 streaming through the broken 39:41 windows and it will make an image but 39:45 it's not making the image with its own 39:48 model it's going outside and 39:51 using Dolly 39:53 3 so it's still the old image generation 39:58 thing and if you talk to it it's still 40:00 the old voice model so it doesn't have 40:04 any of the new fancy ass [ __ ] in it if 40:07 we click here see this is all the 40:13 old this is all the old stuff 40:17 um make it green 40:32 played with chat GPT for 3 hours today 40:35 went back to early days of coming up 40:36 with absurb prompts had fun so TK that's 40:39 that's super cool I mean play play play 40:43 playing with these things and just you 40:45 know if the new models sort of put you 40:47 back in touch with oh you know oh let me 40:50 go play with this thing let me go see 40:52 what this is it's a nice sort of AMC 40:55 Javelin looking looking Beast isn't 41:01 it it's like a it's like a uh Whata call 41:06 it 72 41:08 73 it's pretty bad pretty bad year for a 41:12 pretty bad 41:13 car yeah oh yeah baby oh 41:20 yeah oh look at the lines 41:24 [Laughter] 41:30 oh lordy lordy hair growth geek giving 41:33 me the Roses thank you so much 41:35 appreciate that Rudy SEO in the 41:39 house have you heard when the new stuff 41:41 will go active I have not I have a 41:43 feeling that the new stuff's going to 41:45 get delayed because of the Scarlet 41:46 Johansson 41:54 [ __ ] and if you want to know my 41:57 thoughts on that 41:59 it's um really stupid PR move on open 42:03 ai's 42:05 part if they had just said this when 42:08 they launched 42:10 it we're going to show you a thing 42:12 that's like the movie her we reached out 42:14 to Scarlet Johansson because we would 42:16 have loved to have had her voice it uh 42:20 but she's not available right now we're 42:22 still talking to her hopefully we can 42:24 work things out but in the meantime 42:26 we've got something that sounds kind of 42:27 close it's a different actress it's not 42:29 her so here it is if they'd done that 42:33 none of this would be fine right like 42:35 this is a this was a they just thought 42:38 they could get away with it like typical 42:40 Tech [ __ ] 42:42 Bros whatever you know what let them 42:45 come after us let them sue us 42:50 well hope you hope you got some of those 42:53 billions set aside for 42:55 lawyers um open a I did today this is 42:59 good this was 43:01 good let's go to open AI for a second 43:04 because I think there's there's some 43:06 decent 43:08 news some decent news there 43:11 mm let's see where do we got what 43:19 news oh there's nothing there hang 43:23 on uh let's see open AI 43:28 they cut a deal with News 43:34 Corp announcing a multi-year partnership 43:36 with News Corp to enhance chat GPT with 43:38 its premium 43:40 journalism so they're going to do some 43:42 sort of rag kind of searching retrieval 43:46 augmented generation where um it can go 43:49 search for news stories and pull them up 43:51 as news stories I'm mad we lost Sky yeah 43:54 I am too because sky was not Scarlet 43:57 Hansson it was clearly an actress that 44:00 they hired to sound like her or who 44:03 already sounded like her and they you 44:05 know gave it all the friendliness of the 44:07 her character 44:11 Samantha but it's not her so and and 44:15 then this this begs the question does 44:17 does any actress that sounds like 44:18 Scarlet Johansson are they not allowed 44:20 to use their voice right but that's 44:23 that's not the issue the issue is it was 44:25 just handled poorly from a communication 44:27 standpoint 44:28 Point um this was the deal or this was a 44:32 deal that open AI was in with with uh 44:35 the New York Times to do a deal just 44:38 like this 44:39 one and that's shortly after Google cut 44:44 a deal with them and then and then the 44:46 New York Times said nah [ __ ] it we're 44:48 suing 44:49 them so they're in the middle of 44:51 negotiations when when the New York 44:54 Times said we're going to sue you for 44:55 for training on our content so the these 44:58 sort of a a landmark multi- year Global 45:01 partnership I wonder if they say how 45:03 much it was I I doubt 45:08 it through the partnership open AI is 45:10 permission to display content from News 45:12 Corp Mast heads in response to user 45:15 questions and enhance its products with 45:17 the ultimate objective of providing 45:19 people the ability to make informed 45:21 choices based on reliable information 45:24 and news sources 45:28 content from the major Publications 45:30 including the Wall Street Journal Barons 45:33 market watch investors daily financial 45:35 news or uh yeah 45:37 FN um New York Post the times the Sunday 45:43 Times the son Australian The Daily 45:46 Telegraph The Courier mail The 45:48 Advertiser and the herald 45:51 son we believe it's historic said Robert 45:55 Thompson 45:58 our partnership is a proud moment for 46:01 journalism we greatly value news corpse 46:03 thing so yeah so anyway they didn't say 46:06 how much the deal was but that's a 46:09 decently big deal it's a big deal you 46:12 know 46:13 people oh P News Corp data would destroy 46:17 open AI accuracy calling 46:20 them calling them need is calling dog 46:24 meat Kobe beef 46:29 reliable in info and News Corp go 46:32 together like oil and vinegar yeah I 46:34 don't disagree with you I I don't think 46:36 that they're going to like I I don't 46:38 think that they're going to 46:40 roll news corpse stories into their 46:43 answers I think it's going to be more 46:45 like if I search for a news story it 46:49 might say here's a News Corp Source 46:51 because they said they're going to pull 46:52 in the Mast heads right so they might 46:54 pull in headlines hey here's news 46:56 headlines you can go read them over 46:58 there if you want right calling them 47:00 news Kyle tell Sam to give scarjo some 47:03 shares we need Sky back I know I know 47:07 they aren't just blindly using the 47:11 data um yeah exactly they're they're 47:13 going to they're going to use this as 47:15 this is re what this really is is for 47:19 open AI to be able to point to other 47:22 sources and say Here's the answer of the 47:25 question you asked for you know we may 47:28 or may not have pulled you know info 47:31 from some of these news stories and then 47:34 in the ideal World here's News Corp 47:37 here's New York Times here's that sort 47:39 of thing 47:40 right Kyle I know you got Sam's number 47:43 tell him to give scarjo what she wants I 47:45 well I one of the things that I thought 47:48 was that um you know open I would just 47:50 go back and like 10x what they offered 47:53 her 47:54 but now that they now that they did this 47:57 stupid move and pissed her off she 47:59 she'll likely never do it but it would 48:01 be smart of them I mean if they did an 48:03 announcement like this with a major 48:05 actor or a major actress right or 48:09 musicians to say hey you know the voice 48:12 of this is by Chris Rock and the voice 48:14 of this is by Jennifer Lawrence and the 48:16 you know 48:18 right that could be that could be really 48:20 interesting I I would assume at some 48:22 point people are going to do that actors 48:24 are going to do 48:26 that 48:28 [Laughter] 48:31 scarjo uh uhuh let's go look at some 48:34 Tweeter and see what else is going on 48:36 here see if there's anything 48:38 interesting by the way my my Tik Tock 48:41 feed got totally I did a well I sort of 48:44 did today I did a video about why Gen X 48:47 is kicking ass with AI because my feed 48:51 just got cluttered with Gen xers and I 48:53 thought I know I'll just jump on the Gen 48:55 X bandwagon and and and get a bunch of 48:58 views for my video and then Tik Tok you 49:00 know promptly went and shadowbanned the 49:02 video so so I reposted it and it and 49:07 like it was just all it did was totally 49:09 [ __ ] up my timeline now which is nothing 49:11 but Gen X is going I'm Gen X look we're 49:14 cool Gen X train whoop 49:20 whoop and I didn't get I didn't get the 49:23 million views I wanted on my stupid 49:25 video 49:27 [Laughter] 49:36 oh that's funny Greg mushion um I hate 49:38 the one I hate to be the one to break 49:40 this to you it's your prompt not the 49:42 large language 49:44 model when people [ __ ] about getting 49:46 shitty answers that's pretty good oh man 50:02 meta open sourcing llama 3400 billion 50:05 will make them biggest hero of our age 50:07 but I heard that they weren't going to 50:08 do that scoop open AI senior leadership 50:13 says they were unaware ex employees who 50:15 didn't sign departure docks were 50:16 threatened with losing their vested 50:18 Equity 50:19 oh 50:21 whatever yes yes Sam mman knew that that 50:25 was what the exit clause in it no he 50:28 didn't think anyone would [ __ ] about it 50:31 now that they've bitched about it and 50:32 everyone's pissed off he'll Undo 50:38 It chat GPT is a beta test that I agree 50:43 with Ethan mullock it's clarifying when 50:45 you realize that people at the AI Labs 50:47 who say they are building 50:49 AGI believe they are building AGI that 50:52 doesn't mean that they will do it but 50:54 folks here often attribute complex 50:56 motives to Promises of AGI that are 50:59 often better explained by beliefs 51:12 interesting you know what's funny about 51:14 the the gp4 51:16 Omni um model is that I'm I feel like 51:21 I'm seeing kind of 51:24 equal equal commentary on it that it's 51:28 absolutely horrible and worse than gp4 51:30 and that it's absolutely amazing and 51:32 better than gp4 what that says to me is 51:36 that it's just different because it's a 51:38 truly multimodal model maybe it's just 51:40 behaving differently and some you know 51:43 some people like the way it works and 51:44 some people hate it but I don't know 51:47 it's 51:52 weird cognition we are partnering with 51:55 Microsoft to bring help bring Devon to 51:57 every developer under the partnership 52:00 Microsoft will use Devon to help its 52:03 developers achieve more starting with 52:05 code migrations and 52:08 modernization and bring Devon to its 52:10 customer base Devon will be powered by 52:12 Azure that's interesting so they're 52:15 going to do specific use cases code 52:18 migrations and Mo 52:22 modernization and if you don't know what 52:23 Devon is Devon's an autonomous agent 52:25 that does planning 52:27 of coding and then it it writes the code 52:30 it's got a command line interface it's 52:31 got a web browser and then it's got a an 52:35 ID where it can write the code I guess 52:39 maybe I said that I don't know it's got 52:41 many piece parts that it can play with 52:43 somebody hacked my account and spammed 52:45 it bad so they banned me oh that 52:55 sucks Sam the YC combinator guy didn't 52:59 know about the exit clause yeah and 53:01 Michael Jordan can't shoot 53:05 threes dude you're you're aging yourself 53:08 that should have been a Caitlyn Clark 53:10 joke and Caitlyn Clark can't shoot 53:12 threes from 30 53:18 feet 53:23 uh co-pilot right now I need a cigarette 53:29 [Music] 53:32 all 53:46 right oh I'm in the post that's why this 53:48 all about 53:50 Devon Sam Alman is a habitual 53:55 liar introducing am ient GPT an 53:58 open-source multimodal Macs foundational 54:01 model 54:04 GUI let me read that again introducing 54:08 ambient GPT this is why we can't have 54:10 nice things people because developers 54:12 write sentences like this introducing 54:15 ambient G GPT an open- source and 54:17 multimodal Macos Foundation model 54:23 GUI run GPT 40 and open source models 54:26 with full ambient knowledge of your 54:29 screen Foundation 54:35 models so it's a GitHub little GitHub 54:38 thing does it 54:42 [Music] 55:09 [Applause] 55:10 [Music] 55:43 huh all 55:45 right well there you go open source 55:48 trying to preempt everyone else like 55:51 they do which is cool 55:58 [Music] 56:24 Mike Greg Steve Steve Steve Carell 56:27 his what he did every day on that show 56:30 like I I'll never forget 56:32 it oh I'm really excited about teaming 56:35 up with you that's 56:40 really all right nothing interesting 56:43 nothing interesting I thought there 56:44 might be something cool CU I didn't I 56:46 didn't have a chance to really look at 56:47 Twitter today I thought there might be 56:49 some something kind of cute people but 56:52 new all right I'm at a trade show in New 56:56 York City for smart cities and every 56:58 company is offering AI Solutions I know 57:01 there's an AI toothbrush out right now 57:03 like come on this is like the worldwide 57:06 web it's like every every toothbrush had 57:08 a website back in 57:12 1997 and we're not even close to that 57:14 yet we're not even close to the froth of 57:17 like 90 97 to 99 with the web stuff was 57:21 just batshit crazy we haven't even 57:23 started with that [ __ ] yet just slap I 57:26 AI on everything I cleaned up so much 57:28 extension such a relief oh that's 57:31 good girl in a perfect match for you the 57:35 AI told me so anyone know how to build a 57:38 custom CRM I do 57:42 not why would you want to build a custom 57:44 CRM that sounds awful we announced new 57:47 tpus by the way during google.io 57:50 Trillium yeah I noticed P they were like 57:53 four and a half times faster than the 57:55 current architecture 57:58 and some I was listening to um Paul rers 58:02 the marketing AI uh institute's podcast 58:05 today and he was talking about 58:09 um that maybe the 2 million token 58:12 context window is is literally just a 58:15 result of the new architecture being 58:18 able to make the same thing more 58:20 effective I don't is that 58:22 true I'm going to change the spelling of 58:24 my name to Stacy with an AI in it that's 58:27 good that's well that's why I write the 58:29 the we're in entering the great 58:31 Renaissance and I and and I capitalize 58:33 the AI in the middle of Renaissance for 58:35 exactly that reason one just to be a 58:38 douche but you 58:41 know why 58:54 not I knew we'd get a 2 million context 58:57 window I called it when it started yeah 58:59 2 59:00 million 2 million tokens let you upload 59:03 a 2hour video and just start interacting 59:06 with it and it and it because it's 59:08 multimodal it can interact 59:11 with all of the stuff in the video it's 59:13 PR pretty 59:15 amazing um I wonder if let's go let's go 59:18 to AI Studio let's go play with some 59:21 Google stuff 59:40 oh join wait 59:52 list I'm at 59:54 AI studio. gooogle com 1:00:33 okay all right I'm on the wait list 1:00:37 people for the 2 million context oh God 1:00:43 [ __ ] we're on the wait list not sure 1:00:47 what was that 1:00:49 Pate not sure on the specifics of that 1:00:51 new Hardware in general does allow for 1:00:53 more things yeah that's true 1:00:56 someone's going to steal that name for a 1:00:58 startup Renaissance the great 1:01:01 Renaissance take it man we we are 1:01:04 absolutely entering a great Renaissance 1:01:06 I that that I have you know 1:01:11 99.99% conviction 1:01:15 of when these tools get 1:01:18 good cuz these tools are shitty right 1:01:21 now and you know people in this 1:01:22 community are absolutely doing 1:01:24 remarkable things 1:01:30 Oracle has free training and two free 1:01:32 attempts to take Oracle AI professional 1:01:35 certification 1:01:38 exam I don't know what that means though 1:01:41 what AI like 1:01:45 the AI is such a broad term it's it's 1:01:48 it's just it AI is just it's like a 1:01:51 whole class of kinds of 1:01:55 Technologies my fear of taking something 1:01:57 from Oracle is they're going to just 1:01:58 teach you about you know database like 1:02:01 is it is it modern AI is it generative 1:02:04 AI is it infrastructure is it you 1:02:07 know what are they teaching you there do 1:02:10 you use apple airpod Pros they can scan 1:02:13 your ears to adjust the sound I don't um 1:02:16 I've heard they can do some of that 1:02:17 stuff I for some reason I used to I used 1:02:20 to you know lust after and get all the 1:02:23 all the Apple gear as it came out and I 1:02:26 just stopped doing that um I I don't 1:02:30 know why I cuz I I feel like phones got 1:02:33 good enough earbuds got good 1:02:35 enough um I didn't ever really feel the 1:02:38 need for an Apple Watch it wasn't until 1:02:40 I 1:02:41 like just got a new phone that they're 1:02:44 like oh do you want an Apple Watch 2 for 1:02:46 five bucks a month or whatever it was I 1:02:48 like yeah sure but it was like a it's 1:02:51 like an afterthought 1:02:53 purchase do for five bucks a month or 1:02:55 whatever was I like yeah sure but it was 1:02:59 like a it's like an afterthought 1:03:01 [Laughter] 1:03:07 purchase is there anything new 1:03:11 in 1:03:13 settings no no do I do I have no I saw 1:03:19 there there have been a number of people 1:03:20 by the 1:03:23 way 1:03:25 um I would strongly encourage you if 1:03:28 you've been adding things to your chat 1:03:30 GPT 1:03:31 memory I would strongly encourage you I 1:03:34 don't think you can copy and paste them 1:03:37 they're not editable if you can copy and 1:03:39 paste them copy and paste them um or 1:03:42 just screenshot them because you can put 1:03:45 images into um chat GPT I lost all my 1:03:49 memory I didn't have a ton in there but 1:03:51 I had enough in there that it pisses me 1:03:52 off I lost it so there's no way to 1:03:54 recover it and I I've seen a number of 1:03:57 people talking about losing their memory 1:03:58 over the past week or so from chat GPT 1:04:02 so if you've if especially if you've 1:04:04 done any amount of work to build up your 1:04:06 memory take screenshots or just get it 1:04:09 out 1:04:10 somehow cuz that's a 1:04:13 real pain in the ass I think MJ prompt 1:04:16 engineering certificate might be 1:04:19 lacking Oracle Fusion is their AI 1:04:22 knowledge tool all right it doesn't mean 1:04:25 much Sears and AI mean whatever they 1:04:27 want them to mean yeah exactly we're 1:04:30 going to I'm going to I'm going to start 1:04:31 giving um AI learning lab certifications 1:04:34 [Laughter] 1:04:39 too you can add Google docs to GPT oh 1:04:42 yeah they added that that's kind of cool 1:04:44 although you know what's weird about it 1:04:46 so if I connect my Google Drive unless 1:04:48 they fix this your account is now 1:04:52 connected see 1:04:54 how my Google dri drive it doesn't give 1:04:57 me like shared drives my my personal 1:04:59 Drive shared drives but it seems to give 1:05:02 me all the folders from a lot of my 1:05:05 drives I like I don't I don't quite get 1:05:09 it so I don't I don't know how it works 1:05:12 it doesn't 1:05:13 seem it doesn't seem 1:05:17 complete I can search File 1:05:20 types but it just says Google drive it 1:05:23 doesn't tell me which Google Drive 1:05:26 and then it doesn't have 1:05:27 like folders high up high up in the 1:05:30 hierarchy it's just got like a bunch of 1:05:33 random folders from down in there 1:05:35 somewhere randomly organized I don't I 1:05:37 don't get it so this is janky too so 1:05:40 that's that's why I haven't been talking 1:05:42 about that all that much because I don't 1:05:44 quite understand it because they didn't 1:05:46 use the standard [ __ ] 1:05:48 interface 1:05:54 so what are your call qualifications 1:05:57 Kyle my qualif here's my qualifications 1:05:59 you want to know my 1:06:00 qualifications I have 1:06:03 ADD and I can very quickly pattern match 1:06:07 stuff 1:06:09 so so if something's intuitive I can get 1:06:13 it like that and if something is 1:06:16 inconsistent and janky it drives me 1:06:19 [ __ ] 1:06:20 Bonkers we need AI learning lab 1:06:23 participation trophies actually that 1:06:25 would be fantastic I we we I really 1:06:27 should do you make M I really should do 1:06:30 buttons and get them to all the 1:06:32 Irregulars um I know Tobias actually 1:06:36 volunteered to help me do that but it 1:06:39 like listen it 1:06:40 I I got I got so many things to do 1:06:44 people um my chat GPT is basically Joe 1:06:47 pessy pesy from Good Fellas might need 1:06:50 to reprogram it I like airpod pros 1:06:53 because they're soft on the ears oh 1:06:54 that's nice noise in lowers my anxiety 1:06:57 oh that's 1:06:58 cool yeah the noise cancelling stuff's 1:07:00 really cool although you know what's 1:07:02 funny the um the the the uh the ones 1:07:05 that go in your ears I have really tiny 1:07:07 ear canals so so they always fall out 1:07:10 but 1:07:12 um that transparency mode where it lets 1:07:15 some audio in is actually really cool 1:07:18 cuz when you when you turn that off and 1:07:20 it just makes it completely silent I 1:07:23 only ever have an air airpod in one ear 1:07:27 and it's really weird it's just like 1:07:28 you've lost Hearing in an in an ear it's 1:07:31 bizarre um we need badges in the AI 1:07:34 Salon yeah we do we got we got to do 1:07:36 that oh you know what Danielle that's a 1:07:38 good idea remind me DM me on on uh on 1:07:41 the salon and I I we could probably do 1:07:44 that pretty 1:07:51 quickly can we stop stop stigmatizing 1:07:54 self-taught 1:07:56 I think everyone's about to be 1:07:57 self-taught 1:07:58 uh yeah I I'm right there with you I'm 1:08:02 right there with you 1:08:04 I I can we stop stigmatizing it I think 1:08:09 that's going to take a generation or two 1:08:12 quite honestly because you've got the 1:08:14 educational 1:08:16 institution 1:08:17 it's it is their job to make it seem 1:08:22 like going to college is better than 1:08:27 not and we're quickly entering a world 1:08:30 if we've not already fully entered it 1:08:35 where you can just do [ __ ] you don't 1:08:38 have to go spend four years to figure 1:08:39 out how to do [ __ ] you you'll just be 1:08:42 able to do it they have different Siz 1:08:45 silicone tips love the quiet up rings no 1:08:47 the but the the smallest tips they still 1:08:50 squirt out of my ears especially my 1:08:53 right ear I can't I I I've tried 1:08:55 everything I think I'm I think they sell 1:08:57 uh they sell foam foam inserts that you 1:09:00 can get off Amazon that are probably 1:09:03 better cuz they squish down but the 1:09:05 silicone just slides right 1:09:07 out if they can turn down my tonius I'm 1:09:10 sold I don't I don't think they can do 1:09:13 that but I assume that's a different 1:09:17 mechanism watching your lives says 1:09:20 clearly shown we 1:09:22 all we will all be very multi-talented 1:09:25 because of AI well thank you Chris and I 1:09:27 I totally that I 1:09:29 1,000% agree with like yep that that's 1:09:34 the thing 1:09:37 that it's the thing that is is is 1:09:40 hardest for me to explain about why AI 1:09:44 is a big 1:09:45 deal because we've all got like all of 1:09:48 our brains you know function in a 1:09:51 particular 1:09:52 way some people are visual and they're 1:09:54 good at Art some people are Musical and 1:09:56 they're good at that some people are 1:09:57 good with words some people are good 1:09:58 with logic some people are good with 1:10:03 process almost no one is good at all of 1:10:09 it what happens to our brains when all 1:10:12 of a sudden you can do all of that stuff 1:10:16 you can take any idea that you have and 1:10:18 rather than having to partner with 1:10:20 someone or like like even if you just 1:10:23 want to conceive something but it's out 1:10:25 of your wheelhouse you're now going to 1:10:27 be able to do that like what does that 1:10:29 open up for us creatively I mean I I I I 1:10:32 deeply deeply believe it's going to 1:10:34 alter how our brains work and it's going 1:10:36 to do it pretty quickly though I meet 1:10:39 lots of people wait what was that P 1:10:40 though I meet lots of self-taught people 1:10:43 who don't know as much as they think 1:10:44 they do well that's that's also that's a 1:10:47 good point Pate that you know um you 1:10:51 know self-taught well I can I can tell 1:10:52 you for sure that my self-taught 1:10:54 guitaring 1:10:57 um like I suck at Guitar because I never 1:11:02 you know really learned Theory really 1:11:04 learn 1:11:05 guitar so so yeah so I think I think 1:11:09 self-taught has has a decently 1:11:11 well-earned 1:11:13 reputation but I also think that 1:11:15 [Music] 1:11:18 there's there's some Legacy higher 1:11:21 education [ __ ] that needs to be 1:11:23 fixed 1:11:25 that is going to be forced to be 1:11:28 fixed 1:11:33 uh so Kyle you're saying no to neural 1:11:36 link 1:11:39 um I don't think I'll have to say yes or 1:11:41 no to it because I think that we'll have 1:11:44 meta's working on a wrist cuff right now 1:11:48 that is a a brain interface that doesn't 1:11:50 require surgery Apple just patented um 1:11:54 earbuds that probably wouldn't stay in 1:11:56 my ears but other people's ears they 1:11:58 might stay in where the the the 1:12:01 um the stuff that contacts your inner 1:12:04 ear is is actually um a brain interface 1:12:08 so I think that someone else just made 1:12:11 one that's like a headband that's a 1:12:13 brain interface that doesn't require 1:12:14 surgery so maybe the neuralink one will 1:12:18 be you know 100 milliseconds faster or 1:12:21 something like that but I think that 1:12:23 probably within two years will'll have 1:12:26 brain interfaces without surgery that'll 1:12:29 be that'll be good so um but I'm not 1:12:32 conceptually against neuralink I'm just 1:12:35 like I don't want to be the first 1:12:37 guy although the first guy he's he's 1:12:40 like it's amazing I just saw another 1:12:43 interview with him today where the guy's 1:12:45 like wait are you moving your mouse and 1:12:47 he's like are you moving it with your 1:12:48 eyes and the guy's like no I'm just 1:12:50 thinking about it and I move the mouse 1:12:52 around and play chess while we're 1:12:53 talking it's like whoa it's 1:13:01 [Music] 1:13:03 crazy the only place self-taught is a no 1:13:07 is karaoke no you can't sing 1:13:12 [Music] 1:13:22 [Music] 1:13:39 which airpods have the brain conduction 1:13:41 that's very cool uh they don't have them 1:13:42 yet it's it was just a patent a patent 1:13:45 that was filed I think by Apple yeah I'm 1:13:47 pretty sure it was by Apple um actually 1:13:49 let me see if I can go find it let me 1:13:51 put this on cuz I I I I just I need 1:13:58 to where's 1:14:01 my 1:14:09 x.com 1:14:11 air pod 1:14:15 brain 1:14:19 interface patent 1:14:26 [Music] 1:14:32 there you go see that there 1:14:35 drawing so like what's this 1:14:39 from on July 20th of 1:14:44 2023 Apple submitted a patent for a 1:14:47 biological sensing device using Dynamic 1:14:51 selection of electrodes ake EEG 1:14:54 integrated into 1:14:57 airpods how cool is 1:14:59 [Music] 1:15:22 that Apple needs to fix Siri I I 1:15:25 disagree with you there they need to 1:15:27 flush Siri down the flipping 1:15:31 [Music] 1:15:40 [Music] 1:15:45 toilet let us be 1:15:48 oh hi champy you like the little singing 1:15:52 [Applause] 1:15:55 [Music] 1:16:07 let us be lovers we marry our fortunes 1:16:12 [Music] 1:16:14 together I've got some real estate here 1:16:17 in 1:16:21 my so I bought a pack of cigarettes wait 1:16:28 so bought pack 1:16:29 [Music] 1:16:42 ofes Scaro to replace 1:16:45 [Music] 1:16:48 Siri Siri go 1:16:51 away 1:16:53 okay I have to be back up for work in 1:16:55 two and 1 half hours so I'm going to 1:16:56 drop however I appreciate you oh thank 1:16:58 you very much that's very sweet it's 1:17:00 very sweet we didn't do much tonight 1:17:02 apologies for not doing much tonight 1:17:14 [Music] 1:17:36 P are you sure your S taught on the 1:17:38 guitar I am but you know I've been 1:17:40 playing it for a lot of years 1:17:42 so and I do things like like one of the 1:17:46 ways I got decent on guitar is 1:17:51 um I use that add thing you know how 1:17:56 you know how when you're neuros spicy 1:17:58 and you've got add and you get a song 1:18:00 stuck in your head for like 9 months 1:18:04 straight well what I would do is I would 1:18:08 get songs stuck in my head that were I 1:18:10 couldn't sing them and I couldn't play 1:18:12 them and I would just essentially play 1:18:14 them play the same song for nine months 1:18:17 until I got it to the point that I could 1:18:19 I could play play Sweet Child of Mine I 1:18:21 could probably play that one 1:18:26 Deco here allows you to use celeb scarjo 1:18:30 Channel worked oh that's 1:18:33 funny I wonder what the pay scale is for 1:18:36 celebs and AI per 150 million users yeah 1:18:42 yeah exactly um I would assume that 1:18:45 they're that they're paying flat rates 1:18:48 to voice actors they're not going to 1:18:49 need voice actors for long for that kind 1:18:52 of stuff 1:18:55 because really where this 1:18:57 goes it's 1:19:02 not you know I I think where this goes 1:19:05 is this thing will know how to talk like 1:19:08 me it'll know how to talk like 1:19:11 you 1:19:13 um and the system will be smart enough 1:19:16 to to you know sort of context switch 1:19:19 and and change voices or invent voices 1:19:22 or things like that like I I think we're 1:19:24 we're in a very 1:19:25 we're we're in a very short window here 1:19:29 where this conversation is even 1:19:32 happening I I don't I I don't see this 1:19:35 going for that long like if if at some 1:19:37 point we want something to sound like 1:19:39 Scarlett Johansson or Jim Carrey or this 1:19:40 or that I think they just 1:19:43 will and I think it'll happen in open 1:19:46 source I think commercial systems are 1:19:48 going to have to deal with this and cut 1:19:51 deals with with uh famous people um or 1:19:56 or Estates of famous people but I think 1:19:58 the open- source Community is going to 1:20:00 be able to just you know create systems 1:20:02 that just automatically generate this 1:20:05 [ __ ] so we'll see I've been singing Me 1:20:09 and You your mama and our cousin too oh 1:20:13 Outcast yeah oh yeah the job market is 1:20:16 turning into GAA I know AI resume and AI 1:20:19 resume readers Absolutely I'll have my 1:20:22 have your agent call my agent right 1:20:24 that's that's that's it wouldn't the 1:20:26 real money right now be owning server 1:20:28 Farms absolutely own the own the PS and 1:20:31 the shovels or or the you know picking 1:20:33 shovel stores absolutely the job market 1:20:37 yeah yeah um yep I like what you saying 1:20:41 Chris you're you're you're in the right 1:20:43 hood of all the stuff I'm thinking about 1:20:50 too [ __ ] it let's go make a 1:20:54 song it's going to drive Mr it 1:20:56 [Laughter] 1:21:07 crazy uh do you think up Ubi is really 1:21:11 needed soon um I think I think that Ubi 1:21:16 is going to be 1:21:19 needed 1:21:24 um when there's an 1:21:26 acute impact on jobs right now the 1:21:30 AI 1:21:33 is strong enough that it's costing jobs 1:21:37 but it's not so strong that it's wiping 1:21:39 out 1:21:41 sectors and I think that at the point at 1:21:44 which it starts wiping out sectors like 1:21:47 I could I could very easily see a moment 1:21:52 in the next two years where the call 1:21:55 center um the the customer service spots 1:21:58 get good enough and accurate enough on 1:22:02 um actual company data as well as the 1:22:05 conversational piece as well as being 1:22:08 able to take action when we have 1:22:09 autonomous agents and reasoning and the 1:22:12 ability to um accurately pull in data 1:22:15 from a from a company's 1:22:17 database and and we're we're likely 1:22:19 going to have that combination before 1:22:21 the year's out if if not middle of next 1:22:24 year so within the the next two years 1:22:26 that combination of capabilities is 1:22:29 going to effectively wipe out customer 1:22:32 call centers right or at least give the 1:22:35 possibility of it so if a technology 1:22:38 comes along that that is so good that it 1:22:41 wipes out an entire sector then I think 1:22:44 we're going to start to see things like 1:22:46 politicians being forced into some sort 1:22:49 of 1:22:50 Ubi um it's possible that we see three 1:22:54 or four sectors kind of collapse in in a 1:22:56 very short amount of time um and and you 1:23:00 know then I think it it would happen 1:23:04 um but we'll see we'll see Sam Alman he 1:23:08 he was he was asked about this about a 1:23:10 month ago or I don't know three weeks 1:23:12 ago 1:23:14 and he talked about he thinks more than 1:23:18 um Universal basic income we might want 1:23:21 to um provide un ival basic compute 1:23:27 UBC and I saw a lot of people bitching 1:23:30 about that like they were like oh he's 1:23:32 not giving out the money you know he now 1:23:34 now he just wants to give people like 1:23:36 you know Cycles like Cycles on the you 1:23:39 know on the server Farms but if you 1:23:41 listen to what he was actually talking 1:23:42 about what he was talking about was you 1:23:46 know let's say there are whatever you 1:23:49 know a thousand ex of flops per human 1:23:54 per year I like I don't I don't know 1:23:55 what the numbers would be Pate would be 1:23:57 better at coming up with some 1:23:59 calculation but let's say let's let's 1:24:01 say there's some amount of 1:24:03 compute that that we've we've developed 1:24:06 these server farms and we've developed 1:24:08 energy to the point that that there's 1:24:10 enough capacity for every person on 1:24:12 Earth to have X amount of 1:24:14 compute well there's there's a number of 1:24:17 ways that you can you can exploit that 1:24:20 one is you could use all that compute 1:24:23 and start up a, person company the 1:24:26 equivalent of a thousand person company 1:24:28 using all your compute cycles and you 1:24:30 could go be productive in the world with 1:24:33 your company that you started there's 1:24:35 another way that you could do that is 1:24:37 you could say I'm going to start a 10p 1:24:38 person company the equivalent of a 10p 1:24:41 person company I'm going to take all my 1:24:42 extra compute and I'm going to you know 1:24:45 let anyone who doesn't have enough 1:24:46 compute buy that from me and that's part 1:24:49 of my income is going to be I'm going to 1:24:50 give away my compute and then I'm going 1:24:53 to use some of it and and so that so 1:24:56 what he was talking about was a much 1:24:58 more Dynamic access to where the value 1:25:01 is going to be generated in this in this 1:25:04 new modern society and if you need to 1:25:07 monetize that and turn that into money 1:25:09 you can do that or if you want to be 1:25:10 ambitious and use those compute cycles 1:25:13 for you know making a business you can 1:25:15 do that so I don't know I like 1:25:20 like we haven't seen a system yet that's 1:25:23 good enough to that that this 1:25:25 conversation is really a thing um but I 1:25:28 think that probably by the end of the 1:25:30 year maybe by mid next 1:25:33 year uh on the tail end we'll probably 1:25:35 start to see systems where we can we 1:25:39 can we can predict which Industries are 1:25:41 going to hit going to get hit 1:25:44 hard um and maybe prepare for it but I 1:25:47 don't know I don't know I don't know how 1:25:49 how good these things get how fast these 1:25:52 things get good enough to do that kind 1:25:54 of disrupt 1:25:56 call centers for sure 1:25:59 yeah Hinton is advising Parliament on y1 1:26:04 what's 1:26:05 y1 Yi yearly 1:26:08 income Vegas Moxy what's Yi I don't know 1:26:11 what Yi 1:26:23 means they're trying to compare Sam with 1:26:26 Enron trying to do that with Broadband 1:26:28 yeah it's not it's not anywhere the same 1:26:30 thing like what he was saying was just 1:26:33 giving people money isn't enough you 1:26:34 want to give them the means of 1:26:37 production and so owning a piece of un 1:26:41 Universal basic 1:26:43 compute is the means of production right 1:26:46 so you could rent that and get money 1:26:50 right so that it would act like Ubi in 1:26:52 that way but wouldn't it be more 1:26:55 interesting if rather than just renting 1:26:57 your compute for money you use that 1:26:59 compute to do something interesting and 1:27:01 if you didn't have to figure it all out 1:27:03 and you didn't have to go code it all 1:27:05 and go become a designer and do the 1:27:08 math then why would you 1:27:12 not but but you know not everyone is a 1:27:15 uh not everyone oh Ubi okay H Hinton is 1:27:19 advising Parliament on Ubi oh 1:27:20 interesting fantastic that's going to be 1:27:23 interesting 1:27:26 I'm actually looking at converting those 1:27:27 call centers into server farms in the 1:27:29 Philippines actually that's a really 1:27:31 good idea 1:27:34 Chris yeah yeah why yeah exactly why 1:27:38 not the other thing to do is is you know 1:27:41 build server farms in the middle of 1:27:42 nowhere next to where the energy is next 1:27:44 to dams next to solar Farms next to wind 1:27:46 farms I think we'll start to see more of 1:27:49 that because if if all the if all the if 1:27:52 if what you need the energy for is the 1:27:54 embedding is the is the training of the 1:27:56 models then it doesn't you don't you 1:27:59 don't 1:28:00 need you don't need that compute power 1:28:03 close to where the people are so you can 1:28:05 do you can do massive server farms for 1:28:07 doing the training and then you can have 1:28:09 localized inference stuff or if if you 1:28:12 look at the uh you know the the the 1:28:16 device that Microsoft just announced 1:28:18 that can run fairly powerful AI locally 1:28:21 then you're not going to need you know 1:28:23 massive INF Farms you'll do all the 1:28:26 really big server Farms will be on the 1:28:28 training and inference will be done what 1:28:31 do they call it on the edge will be done 1:28:33 locally on 1:28:36 machines Star Trek had an a galarian Ubi 1:28:39 but you had to work for the Starfleet or 1:28:40 something yeah I could see there being 1:28:42 things like that like I you know I I 1:28:44 can't imagine there just being you know 1:28:47 Ubi like here's your check go do it you 1:28:48 want you'll have to probably do 1:28:50 something for it but I don't know 1:28:57 that's a good idea 1:29:00 um so let me show you one thing how many 1:29:03 people are I haven't even looked at how 1:29:04 many people are in here I've just been 1:29:05 sort of babbling I'm in a babbly mood 1:29:08 tonight people 1:29:10 um so there's 75 folks in here so first 1:29:14 of all thank you for hanging out cuz I 1:29:16 haven't been saying 1:29:18 much it's like it's just trust me it's 1:29:21 going to be good at some point here 1:29:23 seriously it's been an hour and a half 1:29:25 he hasn't said a thing I know I know 1:29:27 it's sometimes it's like that just it's 1:29:29 going to be good um so so here's the 1:29:34 thing 1:29:37 um about the time that I started this 1:29:40 Tik Tok Channel I also started this 1:29:41 group called the AI 1:29:43 salon 1:29:45 and if you are curious about Ai and 1:29:48 especially if you're someone who's like 1:29:50 curious enough about it that you're 1:29:51 starting to figure some of this stuff 1:29:52 out but you're feeling like I just just 1:29:54 no one in my life likes this stuff every 1:29:56 time I talk about it they call me evil 1:29:59 nobody they're all angry at me or if 1:30:01 nobody cares or if they're just like 1:30:03 could you shut the [ __ ] up about 1:30:05 AI that's what this group is is well not 1:30:08 they're not the group that'll tell you 1:30:09 to shut the [ __ ] up this is a group of 1:30:11 people that are curious about 1:30:14 AI the the Leah faston and I the woman 1:30:17 that that I co-founded this with we've 1:30:19 been working on the why of the 1:30:21 salon and one of the one of the things 1:30:25 we got to is is the phrase play 1:30:28 first so think think of that as like a 1:30:31 tagline for the salon AI Salon play 1:30:34 first and what that means is to learn 1:30:37 this generative AI stuff you have to 1:30:39 play with it and and the spirit of the 1:30:42 AI Salon is a group of people that play 1:30:45 first that get together they're they're 1:30:47 Fearless they're like yeah let's try it 1:30:49 let's let's go you know build this thing 1:30:51 let's go make some gpts let's go do this 1:30:53 let's go do that go do that play 1:30:56 first and then the next phase when you 1:30:59 when you start to get your head around 1:31:01 what this is through 1:31:02 playing is to mindfully create right to 1:31:06 say oh what's a problem that could be 1:31:08 solved okay I know how to use this tool 1:31:10 and a little bit of that tool and here's 1:31:12 a problem and so let me let me put my 1:31:14 mind to it and let me create or build 1:31:16 something that solves that problem 1:31:19 that's kind of like phase two of getting 1:31:21 into this 1:31:22 world and then phase three three is 1:31:25 generously 1:31:28 lead generously 1:31:30 lead and that's like I'm starting to get 1:31:33 my head around AI I'm playing I'm 1:31:35 learning the tools I've built some 1:31:37 things and now it's like well what does 1:31:39 generously lead mean well it means like 1:31:42 teach other people what you're learning 1:31:44 it means ask for help so that you give 1:31:48 someone else the chance to teach what 1:31:49 they 1:31:51 know it means stepping into a leadership 1:31:54 position at your job and and being on 1:31:57 the AI you know committee or or or you 1:32:01 know starting an after school AI Club at 1:32:06 your school that doesn't let you talk 1:32:08 about AI Mr 1:32:12 K you should start a a Saturday AI 1:32:16 in in your District you know off school 1:32:21 property do it at a library somewhere 1:32:25 um so so that's what this group's about 1:32:29 so if you go to the salon. it's going to 1:32:31 take you to a link tree and then it'll 1:32:34 drop you into the AI Salon which is a 1:32:37 it's it's a you know it's a web-based 1:32:41 community and you first go in and get 1:32:45 welcomed welcome to the salon Lord 1:32:47 digital Gods thank you so much 1:32:50 s and you can read about who we are why 1:32:53 we do it what we do you can read about 1:32:55 our values um one of the things that you 1:32:58 should do in this community go to the 1:33:01 community section and the first link is 1:33:04 introduce 1:33:06 yourself here's something I deeply 1:33:09 deeply deeply deeply deeply deeply 1:33:13 deeply 1:33:14 believe how we are all going to get 1:33:18 hired in the 1:33:21 future is Shifting away from what you 1:33:25 know and it's moving toward who you are 1:33:29 and who trusts 1:33:32 you so think about this as the tools get 1:33:35 better and 1:33:38 better and you don't have to have the 1:33:41 skill right if I don't have to be have 1:33:43 the skill to be a designer or a 1:33:46 front-end web developer or a copywriter 1:33:50 as the tools get better and better 1:33:52 anyone can do the skill part anyone can 1:33:55 do the Tactical 1:33:56 execution so who gets hired you don't 1:34:00 hire someone because they're a 1:34:01 copywriter you hire someone because you 1:34:04 like how they work you like hanging out 1:34:07 with them you know that you've worked 1:34:09 with them before and so communities like 1:34:12 the AI Salon are where people can come 1:34:15 and play first and develop those chops 1:34:18 and develop those skills but more 1:34:19 importantly develop those relationships 1:34:22 so oh by by the way the AI Salon is free 1:34:25 if you're sitting there thinking like 1:34:26 how much is this thing Kyle it's it 1:34:29 sounds great and all but you know I 1:34:31 don't have $500 a month for your for 1:34:34 your silly little 1:34:35 Community it's 1:34:39 free but it's not free I would say that 1:34:42 the the cost of entry for the salon is 1:34:45 be 1:34:46 engaged introduce yourself and introduce 1:34:49 yourself 1:34:50 generously like hey who's here's who I 1:34:52 am here's what I do 1:34:55 here's what I've learned about AI here's 1:34:57 where I'm totally clueless can anyone 1:34:59 help that kind of introduction is a big 1:35:02 deal we this this idea is so important 1:35:06 that we we have two meetings a month we 1:35:08 have a meeting on the first Tuesday of 1:35:09 the month and the third T Tuesday of the 1:35:12 month we've dedicated one of those two 1:35:15 monthly meetings or bi bi-weekly 1:35:16 meetings or twice monthly 1:35:18 meetings we've dedicated it for people 1:35:21 introducing themselves so it's a big 1:35:23 deal 1:35:26 so do that and then you know this idea 1:35:29 of play first if you go to this there's 1:35:31 a section underneath introduce yourself 1:35:32 called play first and this is a list 1:35:35 that I maintain of tools but what what 1:35:38 we've got is this little Manifesto of 1:35:40 play 1:35:41 first then move into this mode of 1:35:44 mindfully create and then move into the 1:35:46 mode of generously 1:35:48 lead and and these three kind of phases 1:35:52 of evolution with AI 1:35:56 literacy I think that we're all going to 1:35:58 cycle through these over and over and 1:36:00 over again we'll sort of play First with 1:36:04 new music tools and we'll play with them 1:36:06 and see which ones are good and it's 1:36:07 sunno and now it's udio and now it's 1:36:09 this and now it's that and that and then 1:36:11 at some point we'll get good enough with 1:36:13 that we're like you know what I'm going 1:36:14 to do some soundtracks for some video 1:36:16 projects we're going to move in and 1:36:18 mindfully create things and then maybe 1:36:20 we get good enough at that that we're 1:36:21 like you know what I want to start an 1:36:23 agency to do this kind of music and turn 1:36:25 it around quickly and and I'm really 1:36:27 excited about it I'm going to turn that 1:36:28 into something I'm going to partner with 1:36:30 someone I'm going to teach other people 1:36:31 how to do 1:36:37 it so that's there and then below that 1:36:39 is here's just a [ __ ] ton of tools where 1:36:42 you can go you know play just go play on 1:36:45 these play 1:36:47 first all 1:36:50 right and then there's other things 1:36:52 there's a news section there's an for 1:36:54 help section there's Shameless 1:36:55 self-promotions where you can put things 1:36:57 out there there's a showand tell area to 1:36:59 show off your work but but uh but below 1:37:02 that are guilds so these are 1:37:03 subcommunities broken into categories 1:37:06 the creative Guild is a bunch of 1:37:07 different things like writing and images 1:37:10 and Danielle does her mad libs in there 1:37:12 where she she creates Mad Libs for 1:37:14 images you just fill in the words and 1:37:16 and it she she writes the promps for you 1:37:18 it's really cool there's a business 1:37:19 Guild there's a technology Guild 1:37:24 social impact and then we have our own 1:37:27 club this channel has our own club so 1:37:29 here's what I want you to do in the 1:37:32 spirit of play first I want everyone in 1:37:34 here to go use your tool of choice 1:37:38 whether like like creative tool of 1:37:40 choice whether it's making music or 1:37:42 making images or making videos or making 1:37:45 some combination of the above and go 1:37:48 into AI learning lab Irregulars and then 1:37:50 just make some images and share them in 1:37:52 here here Allan's got um this is let's 1:37:57 see my first LTX Studio film so Allan 1:38:01 took a song that we wrote in here called 1:38:03 we weird Mary from Cedar Hill he's 1:38:04 turning it into a high school play so 1:38:07 he's in the mindfully create phase right 1:38:09 now well actually I would say Alan 1:38:11 you're you're you're in the generously 1:38:13 lead he's a he's a teacher and a leader 1:38:15 um but but he's creating a a high school 1:38:18 play right now based on a song we wrote 1:38:20 in here in yudo and then he made a he 1:38:23 made made this video using LTX Studio 1:38:26 which we all got access to over the past 1:38:28 week or two or not all of us but a bunch 1:38:31 of us that hang out in here all right so 1:38:32 let's let's 1:38:35 watch all right here we go weird 1:38:39 Mary growing up in Ceda Hill I always 1:38:42 felt 1:38:43 different my neurodivergence made me an 1:38:46 enigma to the town's folk their Whispers 1:38:48 following me everywhere I went but 1:38:51 amidst their judgment there was Mr 1:38:53 Thompson the gas station clerk he saw 1:38:55 beyond my Oddities offering me moments 1:38:57 of understanding and Solace and then 1:39:00 there was the Oasis My Sanctuary from 1:39:02 the chaos of the world these fleeting 1:39:04 moments of Peace contrasted sharply with 1:39:07 the harsh reality of the asylum in the 1:39:10 end my passing marked the end of my 1:39:12 Earthly Journey but I hope my enduring 1:39:14 Spirit and the small changes in 1:39:16 perception I inspired in Ceda Hill will 1:39:18 live 1:39:20 on Wow right that's cool that's 1:39:25 neat very 1:39:27 cool um so anyway so yeah so go jump 1:39:30 into so how you get to the salon someone 1:39:32 just asked how how do I get access to 1:39:33 the salon you go to there the salon. 1:39:37 click on the first link it'll say AI 1:39:40 Salon community that will take you to 1:39:44 this site it'll probably drop you in 1:39:46 here and then you join it you make an 1:39:49 account and it'll drop you here and then 1:39:51 scroll down on the left and go into to 1:39:54 this area called a AI learning lab 1:39:56 Irregulars and that's us and so go post 1:40:00 some stuff in there all 1:40:03 right that was from last night we made a 1:40:05 movie about the the world's last uh or 1:40:08 Cleveland's last rotary phone salesman 1:40:11 here you want to see that 1:40:13 [Music] 1:40:17 movie hang on where we did it we put it 1:40:20 in LTX showcase didn't we let me see if 1:40:23 I can see uh let's 1:40:24 see 1:40:31 from here it is this is the movie we 1:40:34 made last night uh you know I never 1:40:37 thought I'd become the last rotary phone 1:40:39 salesman in 1:40:41 Cleveland but there I was standing on 1:40:44 those quirky streets clinging to a piece 1:40:46 of the past in a world racing towards 1:40:49 the future when I met Alex and Edith I 1:40:53 saw a spar AR of nostalgia in their eyes 1:40:56 and then the unexpected twist from the 1:40:59 Department of antiquated technology is 1:41:01 turned me into a local Legend standing 1:41:04 there on that Soap Box I knew I'd become 1:41:06 the hero of a bygone era and as the 1:41:09 rotary phones dial spun one last time I 1:41:13 realized that sometimes preserving the 1:41:16 past can make you a part of the 1:41:19 future oh sweet 1:41:24 so go make something cool go make some 1:41:26 cool pictures 1:41:29 pictures if you want to do uh if you 1:41:32 want to do something fun put put um the 1:41:36 either the term AI learning lab or AI 1:41:39 Salon in your image and then maybe I'll 1:41:42 use it in my little lives here my little 1:41:45 in my little picture or go make a song 1:41:48 in yud or go make uh you know go make 1:41:51 stuff tap the screen what are we up to 1:41:55 18,000 sorry I missed the Cleveland pit 1:41:58 yeah yeah he's the LA he was Cleveland's 1:42:01 last Cleveland's last uh rotary phone 1:42:07 salesman I tried to have it put a joke 1:42:10 about Cleveland in there but it only put 1:42:11 it in the description and it didn't make 1:42:13 it to the Final Cut but you know 1:42:15 Cleveland's still in 1:42:19 there oh man all right someone ain't 1:42:22 tapping we see you Tams what are we 1:42:24 going to do with these people image and 1:42:26 graphics and show and tell all 1:42:38 right dance like nobody's watching Tik 1:42:40 Tock 1:42:42 live nice the three legs this is what 1:42:45 you don't know about 1:42:50 me that's pretty cute I like it 1:42:56 nice 2023 the last normal year see 1:42:59 what's going on here people OD it's odd 1:43:03 I tell you it's odd I tell 1:43:08 you very 1:43:10 cool very cool let's go roll the dice in 1:43:14 udio see what we get a song about 1:43:16 leaving home for the first time folk 1:43:18 let's just go with 1:43:20 that seems to do pretty good as uh as 1:43:25 Folk invite Three Mile Storage is in 1:43:28 here Jim Ross is hanging 1:43:30 out cam King from 1:43:34 Cleveland Cleveland is the 1:43:42 joke y'all are funny it's comedy 1:43:54 just finished moving congratulations 1:43:56 Drew that's a big deal need a channel 1:43:59 where we post our works for others to 1:44:01 share on socials with attribute to 1:44:05 spread AI love um the the agreement in 1:44:10 um in the salon is that is that if 1:44:14 you're posting it in showand tell you're 1:44:16 posting it with permission for people to 1:44:19 to share it beyond that so that 1:44:21 technically exists TK 1:44:24 what I would do is just you know um give 1:44:26 them attribution um but that's in the in 1:44:29 the terms of the showand tell channels 1:44:31 is is that 1:44:36 language but it's a good 1:44:38 idea whispers about the road ahead 1:44:42 leaving the place I've always 1:44:45 [Music] 1:44:48 known I've packed my memories tied them 1:44:52 tight so many dreams I've left behind I 1:44:57 step into the great 1:45:00 [Music] 1:45:05 unknown so this is interesting so 1:45:08 they're using now gp4 Omni as the lyrics 1:45:11 engine for this which I think the lyrics 1:45:15 have gotten better cuz the lyrics were 1:45:17 really um like predictable rymy ryy kind 1:45:23 of stuff 1:45:24 um and the writing's gotten better but 1:45:27 what I've noticed is is that gp4 Omni 1:45:30 like they don't have it fine-tuned for 1:45:32 lyrics so it doesn't write it doesn't 1:45:35 write them very lyrics like like it 1:45:39 doesn't say verse or 1:45:40 chorus Kyle do a song for a recipe oh 1:45:44 that's a good idea 1:45:48 um okay let's 1:45:51 uh I think I want to do that chat 1:45:57 GPT I want you to write the lyrics of a 1:46:00 short folk 1:46:06 song about how tasty lasagna 1:46:10 is and it is also the recipe for the 1:46:16 lasagna that's a great idea 1:46:20 Chris that's really good lasagna Del 1:46:23 light in an oven warm and bright we're 1:46:26 making lasagna tonight layers of Love 1:46:28 okay oh 1:46:43 okay uh let's see uh make a 1:46:49 more 1:46:50 uh simple 1:46:55 recipe so 1:46:57 it's two 1:47:00 versus and 1:47:02 two choruses and the 1:47:07 choruses can be 1:47:11 different but 1:47:17 similar simple lasagna met ozy kitchen 1:47:20 we're making lasagna layer noodles Sao 1:47:22 red cheese and love in every spread oh 1:47:25 lasagna tasty and true cheesy layers all 1:47:29 1:47:53 [Music] 1:47:58 [Laughter] 1:48:00 let's see how this is by the way I like 1:48:02 this this folk song is actually pretty 1:48:08 good where's my 1:48:11 audio the 1:48:13 hell where' my audio uh how's this 1:49:04 [Music] 1:49:08 one and world 1:49:12 so my heart's still 1:49:16 a 1:49:18 place 1:49:21 behind one of the things I've noticed 1:49:23 about yudo it sometimes does is it like 1:49:25 over complicates like it's there's like 1:49:28 three or four harmonies in there there's 1:49:30 a couple of different rhythms it's a 1:49:33 little complicated this one's nice CU 1:49:34 it's 1:49:39 simple first slide it whispers about the 1:49:42 road ahead leaving the place I've always 1:49:47 [Music] 1:49:49 known that's good all right here's our 1:49:51 lasagna song 1:49:53 [Music] in every 1:50:46 spread let's see uh let's see let's see 1:50:51 Italian 1:50:54 um 1:50:57 Opera 1:50:59 with 1:51:01 sweeping 1:51:06 strings about 1:51:09 lasagna all right let's go with that 1:51:12 okay now let's go back to our song 1:51:14 that's actually decent and let's extend 1:51:17 it wonders departure right oh no great 1:51:20 unknown okay so we're going to go here 1:51:22 we're going to go 1:51:24 extend we're going to add a section let 1:51:27 it 1:51:28 autogenerate do we want an intro for 1:51:30 that I don't think so it starts kind of 1:51:32 nice 1:51:34 okay so that's doing its 1:51:38 thing and then we're going to have we're 1:51:40 going to try the the Italian opera 1:51:42 serenade to 1:51:44 lasagna set it to be a 1:51:48 familiar what was that Danielle said it 1:51:50 to be a a familiar type tuned 1:51:55 Kyle oh my God that won't leave my head 1:52:01 tonight great idea to help ADHD people 1:52:04 to do things Kyle basically got the 1:52:07 Dixie Chick singing about 1:52:11 lasagna all right lasagna 1:52:16 serenade okay this is 1:52:20 [Music] 1:52:21 [Applause] 1:52:21 [Music] 1:52:28 how 1:52:30 topping through sand with every 1:52:38 you or is this just a me 1:52:44 to my learning's deep I adap ASAP just 1:52:48 entered the chat they're not happy with 1:52:50 this 1:52:54 yeah askap I I think like I said we we 1:52:58 are we are very quickly 1:53:00 entering an era where entire industries 1:53:04 that are based around how we make 1:53:07 content and not just content how we do 1:53:10 work are going to get 1:53:13 upended upended okay so let's listen to 1:53:16 our Opera 1:53:21 [Music] 1:53:24 in a cozy kitchen bright with 1:53:28 [Music] 1:53:28 [Applause] 1:53:30 [Music] 1:53:35 [Laughter] 1:53:38 [Music] 1:53:43 making chees 1:53:45 [Music] 1:53:46 [Applause] 1:53:48 and oh that's solid people that's solid 1:53:53 that is 1:53:54 solid oh wait no I'll come back to 1:54:08 [Applause] 1:54:11 that in a cozy 1:54:15 kitchen we're making lasagna 1:54:20 tonight Le a noodle SA 1:54:22 [Music] 1:54:25 R 1:54:26 chees 1:54:29 every I think I like the other one 1:54:31 better that that woman annoys me she's 1:54:35 she's the annoying she's the annoying AI 1:54:38 [Music] 1:54:40 lady this one's good I think this is the 1:54:43 [Music] 1:54:47 one yeah that one's good okay so let's 1:54:49 go get the second verse or the chorus 1:55:01 extend custom lyrics Boom there they go 1:55:05 extend bang it's off making music let's 1:55:08 go back to our little folk song while 1:55:10 that's happening all right so this was 1:55:13 what did we do we added in the the uh 1:55:15 chorus 1:55:19 right first slide it whispers about the 1:55:23 road ahead leaving the place I've always 1:55:27 [Music] 1:55:31 known I've packed my memories tied them 1:55:35 tight so many dreams I've left behind I 1:55:39 step into the great 1:55:42 [Music] 1:55:49 unknown a winding trailer heart so full 1:55:54 chasing Horizons under sky so wide every 1:55:58 mile is a story to unfold with every 1:56:03 step I'm finding my 1:56:08 stri I carry love from where I've 1:56:15 [Music] 1:56:21 grown 1:56:23 interesting I like it uh we're going to 1:56:27 autogenerate the next section I'm 1:56:30 digging it it did two verses and half a 1:56:32 chorus on its own the lyrics are better 1:56:36 than they were um so they they added the 1:56:39 the gp4 Omni model to it this week I 1:56:43 think or wait what's today today's 1:56:44 Wednesday end of last week I think or 1:56:46 maybe early this week I don't know time 1:56:48 doesn't exist 1:56:49 anymore n you needs an animated cat that 1:56:52 looks like gar make a song about scar 1:56:54 Joe rejecting Sam oh that's a great idea 1:56:57 let's 1:56:58 see 1:57:00 okay 1:57:09 um have you read the story about Sam 1:57:13 mman and Scarlet 1:57:15 Johansson and the sky voice in chat GPT 1:57:30 okay perfect now what I want you to 1:57:34 do is come up with a very clever title 1:57:39 for a 1:57:41 song that will be sung in an 1:57:45 Americana story teller 1:57:48 style and write the lyrics 1:57:59 where Sam watches the movie 1:58:02 Her falls in love with the character 1:58:07 Samantha then realizes he's inventing 1:58:10 that actual 1:58:13 technology and asks Scarlet 1:58:16 Johansson to use her voice and she 1:58:19 considers it but rebuffs him 1:58:23 but he uses the voice 1:58:25 anyway and she's 1:58:28 angry period and then come up with some 1:58:31 clever 1:58:33 ending 1:58:36 ending 1:58:42 okay all right sat down in the chair 1:58:44 lonely lonely heart and heavy mind watch 1:58:47 a movie called her seeking Solace he 1:58:49 could find fell in love 1:58:51 okay her but not her in a dream a dream 1:58:54 in the light voices in the darkness 1:58:56 shining so bright Sam's heart in the 1:58:58 code a quest for sound okay he wait how 1:59:03 long did it make it it made it way too 1:59:04 long uh okay uh make 1:59:08 it much 1:59:11 shorter 1:59:15 without all let's let's see with two 1:59:20 verses and 1:59:27 choruses her but not her it's a good 1:59:33 title outro in the 1:59:36 voice okay that's 1:59:39 good ask Scarlet for her voice with a 1:59:42 hope and a plea but the voice of my 1:59:44 dream bring her to me she turned him 1:59:47 down gently with a heartfelt refrain but 1:59:49 Sam passed on driven by his vision so 1:59:53 plain her but not her a dream in the 1:59:56 light voices in the darkness this is 1:59:58 good it's really good her but not 2:00:02 her all right um okay so we'll go here 2:00:06 we're going to do we're just going to 2:00:08 start we're just going to be ripping out 2:00:09 a bunch of songs here aren't we all 2:00:11 right my Creations go here reset the 2:00:20 prompt let's 2:00:35 Americana rock 2:00:37 song with a touch of 2:00:42 melancholy and a ringing 12 string 2:00:47 guitar period 2:00:54 all 2:00:55 right now what do we have here oh this 2:00:58 is we this is our next version of this 2:01:01 song 2:01:06 right what's going on where's where's 2:01:09 our speakers oh I see 2:01:22 okay we're extending we're extending our 2:01:24 lasagna song we've now got a three 2:01:27 segment folk 2:01:30 [Music] 2:01:35 song by the way this is 2:01:38 ADHD right writing three songs 2:01:43 simultaneously without paying attention 2:01:46 to 2:01:46 anything this this this is 2:01:50 prime this is this is prime add happy 2:01:54 brain we're just vomiting vomiting 2:01:58 content into the 2:02:07 world so many dreams I've left behind I 2:02:12 step into the great 2:02:15 unknown I love that great unknown 2:02:18 [Laughter] 2:02:23 a Winding Trail a heart so full chasing 2:02:28 Horizons under sky so wide every mile is 2:02:32 a story to unfold with every step I'm 2:02:37 finding 2:02:39 my I like this a lot I 2:02:44 [Music] 2:02:49 car into the arms of the grave 2:02:52 [Music] 2:02:56 know with a suitcase and a 2:03:00 hopeful waving goodbye to the life I've 2:03:04 always 2:03:06 been 2:03:07 W fields and streams the homes we call 2:03:12 now distant voice as they softly 2:03:18 fall I'll M my fate on PA so new 2:03:23 trusting stars to guide me 2:03:29 through it's actually a really good song 2:03:32 it's fun it's just funny how this thing 2:03:34 works it really is um 2:03:37 okay where so we got these two are the 2:03:42 Samantha song that's the scarjo song 2:03:45 that's making great unknown that's what 2:03:48 we just listened to now so here's 2:03:50 our here's our second here's our chorus 2:03:54 added to our Opera so let's see which 2:03:56 one of these we 2:03:57 [Music] 2:04:03 like in a cozy kitchen bright 2:04:08 [Music] 2:04:08 [Applause] 2:04:11 [Music] 2:04:16 [Laughter] 2:04:18 [Music] 2:04:23 cheese and love in every 2:04:29 spread oh 2:04:32 Las tasty and 2:04:35 F 2:04:37 cheese 2:04:38 L All For 2:04:41 You Bak with 2:04:45 car a treat a hearty meal so 2:04:52 [Applause] 2:04:53 [Music] 2:04:54 [Laughter] 2:04:56 [Music] 2:04:59 oh it's so bad it's 2:05:02 good all right let's hear V2 we'll just 2:05:05 jump to the 2:05:06 [Music] 2:05:08 [Applause] 2:05:10 [Music] 2:05:11 [Applause] 2:05:14 end Chast 2:05:17 and 2:05:19 cheesy lasers 2:05:22 all for 2:05:25 you with 2:05:27 car such a 2:05:35 treat all right the other one was better 2:05:38 okay so this is this is how we do this 2:05:41 people all right and then we've got the 2:05:44 Sam Alman 2:05:49 song Oh Know 2:05:52 oh it's still going did we did we hear 2:05:55 the second half of this 2:05:59 [Music] 2:06:02 one with a suitcase and a hopeful bre 2:06:07 waving goodbye to the life I've always 2:06:12 been 2:06:13 W fields and streams the homes we call 2:06:18 now dist voes they softly fall 2:06:25 I'll M my fate on path so new trusting 2:06:30 the Stars to guide me 2:06:35 [Music] 2:06:42 through the wind it sings place is far 2:06:47 each star a guide each night a map 2:06:51 through Fields of Gold 2:06:55 mountain now this one's crap okay that 2:06:58 one's garbage it's garbage so it's 2.2 2:07:02 so we give that a hearty 2:07:04 heart what's going on up here what's why 2:07:07 is Sam not rendering 2:07:20 [Music] 2:07:24 all right let's 2:07:25 let's not that one let's 2:07:30 do which one did I like here oh this one 2:07:34 okay so we're going to extend This One 2:07:36 More 2:07:38 Time autogenerated lyrics they're fine 2:07:42 for now extend it extend 2:07:46 orama all right Samantha's Echo so 2:07:49 here's the Sam song 2:07:54 Sam sat down in his chair Lonely Heart 2:07:58 and heavy mind watch the movie called 2:08:03 her seeking Solace he could 2:08:08 find fell in love with the 2:08:11 voice oh so gentle and 2:08:15 kind Samantha in the 2:08:18 screen a love he never binds 2:08:21 [Laughter] 2:08:23 that's pretty good that's pretty 2:08:28 [Music] 2:08:38 good Sam sat down in his chair Lonely 2:08:42 Heart and heavy 2:08:44 mind watch 2:08:48 the well that's bad all right so this 2:08:51 other one was wasn't bad so we'll give 2:08:53 it a hearty heart this is this is my new 2:08:55 method by the way if you like something 2:08:57 you give it a little hearty 2:09:01 heart that's about what okay here's what 2:09:04 you should do what a what a 2:09:06 neurotypical human being would do was 2:09:09 they would create a folder they would 2:09:11 say okay I'm going to I'm going to 2:09:12 create you know a collection of Music 2:09:15 based on this story and I'm going to 2:09:16 create a folder and I'm going to label 2:09:18 it and then I'm going to rename these 2:09:20 things as I go and I'm going to you know 2:09:22 throw out the ones that I don't but 2:09:24 that's not how we roll here play first 2:09:28 AI Salon play first all right there's 2:09:32 great unknown so 2:09:37 let's we're going to go back into this 2:09:39 we're going to extend it we're going to 2:09:41 add a section custom lyrics back 2:09:46 here chorus 2:09:52 [Music] 2:09:56 and I'm putting square brackets around 2:09:58 the word chorus just in case sometimes 2:10:00 it'll say the word chorus if you don't 2:10:02 do 2:10:03 that all right so we have a couple of 2:10:06 tracks of that 2:10:08 coming and then we've got the great 2:10:14 unknown sof fall 2:10:21 my fate on paths so new trusting stars 2:10:26 to guide me 2:10:31 through through forests deep and valleys 2:10:34 wide there's no turning back this is my 2:10:38 ride Whispers of the past echo in my 2:10:42 mind but there's a world out there I've 2:10:45 yet 2:10:46 to yeah that's weird got weird it got 2:10:50 weird people 2:10:52 let's get the other one which one was 2:10:55 that that was 2 2:10:59 two I'll map my fate on paths so new 2:11:04 trusting stars to guide me 2:11:10 through a warm kisses my face reminding 2:11:15 me of what I've left behind but ahead 2:11:19 the future's bright and 2:11:25 brace With Every Mountain yet to 2:11:30 climb it got lost you know what's funny 2:11:33 because it's not doing consistent like 2:11:35 Verse Chorus 2:11:37 structure um like it used to the um the 2:11:41 music's getting lost it's like like 2:11:44 it it's got 2:11:47 um you got face 2:11:50 Embrace um 2:11:52 behind and climb so so this is a you 2:11:56 know a four-line 2:11:59 verse and but it ended on Embrace and it 2:12:02 should have ended on climb so it's it's 2:12:05 getting lost because it doesn't have 2:12:07 structure there 2:12:10 so yeah I don't know how to fix that 2:12:13 well how you fix it actually 2:12:18 is yeah I think how I'd fix it is I 2:12:21 would sort of 2:12:24 copy these and add it to a previous 2:12:27 version of it that kind of ended you 2:12:29 know somewhere right you know right 2:12:30 before that all right that's that all 2:12:33 right I got to get out of here people 2:12:34 but let me let me see where we are 2:12:35 here's Samantha's Echo so this is the 2:12:38 this is the verse and Chorus for the Sam 2:12:40 Alman 2:12:43 song which if you don't think we're not 2:12:46 going to send this to Sam we are we're 2:12:48 just going to do it tomorrow we'll 2:12:50 finish this tomorrow 2:12:54 Sam sat down in his chair lonely hard 2:12:58 and 2:13:00 heavy watch the movie called her seeking 2:13:05 Solace he could 2:13:07 [Music] 2:13:11 find so there's there's a better we 2:13:14 we're g we're tomorrow we'll work on in 2:13:16 painting we're going to change this line 2:13:18 so Sam sat down in his chair Lonely 2:13:20 Heart and heavy mind watching a movie 2:13:22 called her instead of seeking Solace he 2:13:24 could find it'll be something like um 2:13:27 you watched a movie called 2:13:29 her 2:13:35 um like like like a 2:13:37 future a future he could mine or or you 2:13:41 know what I mean like there's something 2:13:43 you 2:13:44 know something about AI you know coming 2:13:47 to life or I I I don't quite know what 2:13:49 it is yet but there's there's something 2:13:50 better there that we can do so I don't 2:13:53 know if Silver Fox you're on here 2:13:55 anyone's on here anyone has an idea but 2:13:57 it should be Sam sat sat down the shirt 2:13:59 watched a movie called her something 2:14:00 about instead of seeking Solace it's 2:14:02 like seeking 2:14:04 inspiration for an art artificial mind 2:14:07 or something like that right 2:14:11 anyway oh 2:14:15 gentle Samantha in the 2:14:18 screen a love he'd never B see you 2:14:24 Todd but 2:14:26 not a dream in 2:14:30 light voices in the 2:14:33 darkness shining so 2:14:36 bright Sam's heart in the 2:14:40 cold a quest for the sound in the 2:14:44 Silence of the 2:14:46 night his love would be found 2:14:53 this is good all right that that one's 2:14:54 okay not great but let's see what the 2:14:56 other one is that was V2 here's 2:15:00 V1 Sam sat down in his chair Lonely 2:15:05 Heart and heavy mind watch the movie 2:15:09 called her seeking Solace he could 2:15:15 find fell in love with the 2:15:19 voice oh so gentle 2:15:22 kind Samantha in the 2:15:26 screen love he 2:15:28 never and and Samantha in the screen 2:15:30 isn't quite right like 2:15:32 Samantha you know Samantha in his ears 2:15:35 or 2:15:37 Samantha you know I don't know there 2:15:41 there's there's some things to tweak 2:15:42 about this anyway let's see if the 2:15:43 course is any better 2:15:46 here her but not her a dream in the 2:15:50 light 2:15:53 voices in the darkness shining so 2:15:59 bright Sam's heart in the 2:16:02 cold a quest for the sound in the 2:16:10 sil all right we'll come back to this I 2:16:12 think what we're going to do is we're 2:16:13 going to go to chat well we'll we'll 2:16:16 take the lyrics out of chat GPT we'll 2:16:19 write a better chorus cuz this chor 2:16:22 sucks but we've got we've got the 2:16:25 beginnings of a good song here there's a 2:16:26 couple of things in it that are not 2:16:28 quite right but the those we can fix and 2:16:30 then and then yeah we'll write we'll 2:16:34 write a song that's that's really good 2:16:37 for for Sam and and and Scarlett 2:16:40 Johansson and actually the outros should 2:16:42 be you know we're encouraged we're 2:16:45 encouraging them to work it out because 2:16:47
