8:34 views then the minute they hit 200 just
8:36 boom they stop dead and then it's like
8:38 five views every you know five minutes
8:41 so I don't know why I'm being throttled

9:45 prediction um dropped a new uh dropped a
9:48 new
9:49 feature and and uh I didn't think they
9:52 would drop it on a Friday night and and
9:54 they did they did to some people so it's
9:56 not fully out there yet um but it's this
9:59 idea that you can
10:01 incorporate a GPT into your chat session
10:06 right and and that is
10:09 just it goes back to that thing that we
10:11 talked about last night a little bit
10:13 about um the statement Sam Alman made in
10:17 Davos that chat pt4 is best understood
10:21 as a
10:24 preview and the the other thing about
10:27 gpts being callable inside a a chat
10:36 session is that they're kind of like
10:38 baby autonomous
10:41 agents so I think I think I think open
10:45 AI given us training wheels um they
10:48 could also just be flailing and not know
10:50 what the [ __ ] they're doing with with
10:52 launching a consumer product that that
10:55 is also a very real
10:58 possibility

18:40 could basically put in a a persistent
18:42 prompt so that chat GPT would just
18:44 behave a certain
18:46 way and no one really took advantage of
18:49 that it's there for both 3.5 users and
18:52 four users and whenever I taught it
18:53 people were like oh this is new and
18:55 exciting gpts let you do that but save
18:58 them as separate things and because you
19:00 can put your own knowledge base in there
19:02 like it really does allow you to create
19:04 these specialized little little
19:06 tools um but yeah they're just they're
19:09 just janky right now so so I think doing
19:12 anything commercial on them
19:15 is silly but doing building them right
19:19 now is not silly understanding what they
19:21 can do and what they are I'm of two
19:23 minds about Gemini go on

21:21 capabilities no it's built on it but the
21:23 fact that you can upload your own data

21:27 empowered um the fact that you can
21:29 upload your own data if you wanted to do
21:31 that previously you had to use something
21:33 like Lang chain like you essentially had
21:35 to be an engineer to be able to train
21:37 anything on your own data we took a 50
21:41 page
21:42 incomprehensible sales process document
21:45 from my company Story vine we've been
21:47 around for 11 and a half years our sales
21:49 process document is we're a small
21:52 company so it's just like every time we
21:54 added a new rule we just dumped it into
21:56 this thing right so it's just
21:57 incomprehensible at this point it's big
22:00 it's it's got a lot of stuff in
22:01 it it's hard to
22:04 parse and we just uploaded that into a
22:06 GPT and so now if you have a question
22:08 about our sales process you can just ask
22:10 it like chat GPT can't do that I mean it
22:14 sort of can you can you can upload
22:17 something to it you know on a chatby
22:19 chat basis but you can't have a
22:21 persistent thing where you just like hey
22:22 what's going on with the sales
22:24 process do you think DNA every I I don't
22:28 what it is about the pinning tonight
22:30 it's like whatever the default length of
22:32 pins is is 4 seconds shorter than I need
22:37 it to be every time I look at a pinned
22:39 comment I'm I read the first two words
22:41 and it
22:43 goes so again whoever pinned that could
22:45 you repin

23:02 will play a significant role in AI

23:09 it um I think DNA as as a data
23:14 storage um mechanism is really

23:25 um they're making some pretty
23:27 interesting progress with with with
23:29 Organic Computing right now with you
23:32 know neurons that
23:35 are functioning you know on a uh on a
23:40 slide basically or in a in a you know in
23:43 a in a
23:45 non skull environment
23:49 so probably yes but probably not
23:57 shortterm I think I think what what is
23:59 more likely to happen
24:03 is AI as we know it some version of AI
24:06 chat G bt5 or whatever the next you know
24:09 the next thing beyond the Transformer
24:11 model
24:12 is um we'll start to make breakthroughs
24:16 in every area of Science and one of
24:19 those areas will be in DNA storage and
24:22 organic Computing that's probably
24:25 what'll happen I don't know I'm just
24:26 mansplaining at this point
24:29 I'm clueless on that but you know
24:32 interesting stuff what's the best format
24:34 to upload data into GPT for best results
24:36 it
24:37 depends it depends on what you want to
24:40 do if it's if it's
24:42 um if you want to use code interpreter
24:45 then you know csvs or Excel files are
24:48 good but you can upload Word documents
24:51 you can upload PDFs you can upload
24:53 pictures obviously because it's GPT
24:56 Vision so it dep depends what you want
24:58 to do but I
25:05 think I think there's three basic kinds
25:09 of things you can upload right
25:14 there's data files like
25:18 csvs there's text documents and then
25:21 there's images and then the text
25:22 documents get weird because and the the
25:25 text document and images gets weird gets
25:27 weird because some PDFs
25:30 are like screenshots of of text
25:34 documents but they're actually
25:37 images so in that case it's using GPT
25:40 Vision some PDFs have text in them um
25:44 some PDFs have text in them and images
25:47 in them sometimes the images in them are
25:49 charts and
25:51 graphs
25:53 um so it's it's kind of nuanced right
25:56 now you kind of need to know
25:59 kind of need to know what you're trying
26:01 to accomplish and what's your Source
26:02 data and then figure out how to prompt
26:04 it
26:06 so all right it's really janky on my
26:09 side skipping like crazy tonight

52:12 still the best so that's first so what I
52:15 try what I what I do try to do in this
52:18 list is put things in here that are not
52:21 going to be a waste of your time are
52:24 worth you spending time learning
52:26 in and if you want to be AI literate you
52:30 should probably at least understand the
52:32 tools in the different
52:34 sections you don't have to use them all
52:37 but you should probably understand you
52:38 should probably go play with them most
52:40 of them have some version of a like a
52:42 free version that you can do something
52:44 with them even even the image tools the
52:46 video tools less
52:54 so
52:57 the mods you ever go you go you ever go
52:59 into a live as a mod and forget you're a
53:01 mod and forget to pin [ __ ] of
53:05 course the the fact that you
53:08 guys do what you do blows my mind
53:11 because it's like it it is it's a it's a
53:15 it's a multitasking thing that I'm not
53:18 good at
53:20 multitasking I'm good at fast context
53:22 switching but sort of I'm mono mono
53:25 Monas I'm a
53:27 monaster I don't I don't think um
53:29 multitasking actually exists I think
53:31 multitaskers are fooling
53:34 themselves I think it's just fast
53:36 context switching um but anyway this
53:39 list you know there's music and audio
53:41 there's 3D and there's even people to
53:43 follow so if you want to get literate
53:45 about AI start with chat
53:48 GPT um and when I say start with it I
53:51 mean start with it and like play with it
53:53 like all what I did what I put in this
53:55 list here is here are the things that
53:58 chat GPT 3.5 has here are the additional
54:02 things that chat GPT 4
54:05 has every one of these bullets is like a
54:08 whole different software application but
54:10 they're all integrated and so part of
54:12 what we need to
54:15 practice as people that are going to
54:17 play with these tools
54:19 is understanding what's possible and one
54:23 of the best ways to do that is just play
54:25 just go in and try to break it go in and
54:28 do nonsensical [ __ ] like like one of the
54:32 parlor tricks I do is I'll have it make
54:33 a table comparing two different things
54:36 and so I'll just do nonsensical
54:39 comparisons compare a gummy bear to
54:41 Sushi is one that I use and it does it
54:44 like it it's just
54:47 like and then when you see it do that
54:49 you're like well nothing should be able
54:52 to make that comparison much less make
54:54 it in 5 seconds and then and it does how
54:57 far off are we from AI video being
54:59 believable for a full narrative Arc
55:04 um
55:05 close according to Matt wolf he thinks
55:08 two to three months we're going to see
55:09 some very significant shifts in that I
55:13 would say probably six months
55:15 now I think in six months like within
55:19 six months we get the peace parts so so
55:22 the the way AI is evolving right now
55:27 is all of the tools right now are janky
55:30 pieces of [ __ ] and there's tons of them
55:34 there's thousands of them
55:36 right there
55:38 are you know probably hundreds of
55:41 important ones and then there are tens
55:43 of really important ones so so I try to
55:47 keep what I what I feel are really
55:49 important ones on this list um I'm
55:52 missing a lot but this will at least
55:54 give you an overview of what's POS
55:55 possible what's going to start happening
55:56 is certain tools on these on this list
55:59 are going to become much more
56:02 powerful the video stuff in particular
56:04 because video is complicated is we're
56:06 going to go from being able to create 4
56:09 second Clips with no sound to 20 or 30
56:14 or 40 second Clips with sound um and you
56:18 you'll still have to put them together
56:20 and then at some point probably 18
56:23 months there'll be systems that just
56:26 automatically you know render the clips
56:29 automatically assemble them
56:30 automatically write voiceovers
56:32 automatically synthesize the voices like
56:36 I you know probably within 18 months
56:38 we're we're at the point where you can
56:39 just speak a video narrative into
56:46 existence all
56:48 right
56:50 um Joy pretty yes I can recognize a a
56:53 joker image pretty quick
56:57 it's so true um the other thing about um
57:01 the AI Salon is you've got we've got
57:04 guilds and So like um Scott uh Young
57:07 from the video Guild they had their

57:17 guilds have meetings and they they sort

1:49:46 Renaissance look

1:49:59 the we creatives part is the part that I
1:50:02 think is going to get

1:50:18 would Express themselves

1:50:44 maybe I've got some idea in my head that

1:52:18 materialize I have other ideas

1:52:22 having more ideas get out and then those
1:52:26 ideas that get out Inspire new ideas I'm

1:52:35 amounts because of AI and the tools
1:52:40 suck all of the AI tools right now are

2:03:42 drop in this script and the system is
2:03:46 going to you know cut together some

2:03:51 stock video it's got It's all custom

2:04:54 a artists artists can see what other

2:05:33 completely different they'll
2:05:35 combine two forms that don't make sense
2:05:38 to combine or they'll take something
2:05:41 from the virtual world and they'll
2:05:43 manifest it in the real world or

2:05:45 they'll manifest it here and they'll do
2:05:47 it in a way that everyone at first looks
2:05:50 at it and goes that doesn't make
2:05:53 sense and then a year later that becomes
2:05:58 the way you do
2:06:01 things and what's exciting is
2:06:05 that
2:06:10 because the
2:06:12 skill that everyone gets to level up
2:06:14 their skills because AI levels them up
2:06:19 people are going to there are artists
2:06:21 there are artists in the world
2:06:25 today that gave up on
2:06:30 self-expression for whatever reason they
2:06:32 had to get a job they didn't have the
2:06:34 skills they didn't have the talent they
2:06:36 believed it when their father said
2:06:37 they'd never make
2:06:39 it a lot of
2:06:41 them and they are artists whose voices
2:06:48 are
2:06:53 there are a bunch in this
2:06:58 community that are
2:07:02 discovering holy [ __ ] I have a
2:07:05 voice it's awe inspiring it's really
2:07:08 [ __ ] inspiring you're like oh [ __ ]

2:07:11 amazing and and like what's amazing is
2:07:14 you know the work that they're doing is
2:07:15 amazing but what's more amazing is their
2:07:22 awe
2:07:24 that it's
2:07:28 possible I didn't think this was

2:07:36 what I'm doing the next year of my
2:07:40 life there's going to be a lot of
2:07:42 artists the great Renaissance right

2:07:59 it uh that's a little uncomfortable for

2:08:17 it I'm shy as heck so this helps a lot

2:08:39 you know there there are a lot of people

2:08:43 that that I did early on was I assumed
2:08:45 that a lot of people would would be
2:08:48 excited to get on camera and I'm like
2:08:49 hey come up on stage and people are like
2:08:51 no no no no I don't want to be on
2:08:55 stage but they are fully self-expressed
2:08:59 with with these tools and they're fully
2:09:01 contributing members of this
2:09:05 community it's [ __ ]
2:09:07 wild wonder when art galleries will
2:09:10 include well uh Moma has a big AI piece
2:09:13 in it right now mom's got this it's like
2:09:16 a big like 15 foot tall
2:09:20 AI generated
2:09:23 blob that what it's a it's a cool
2:09:26 concept they basically took pictures of
2:09:28 all of the art in Moma and then the art
2:09:30 that's being generated is from all of
2:09:32 the colors of the art that was sampled
2:09:35 from Moma it's pretty slick yeah mom's
2:09:38 got it yeah
2:09:43 exactly my dad is terrible at English
2:09:45 chat GPT helps him write better
2:09:47 understood structure emails yes
2:09:52 exactly the the the accessibility level

2:09:59 crazy and accessibility doesn't just

2:10:05 accessibility means I can't speak a
2:10:07 foreign language or I'm not good with
2:10:09 grammar or I'm not good with spelling

2:10:13 had grammar and spell check but for
2:10:15 basic writing like if you're not good at
2:10:17 structuring writing
2:10:19 it doesn't matter if you have grammar
2:10:21 and spelling Checkers if you can't tell
2:10:23 the story right if you can't structure
2:10:25 Communications well now you have a tool
2:10:27 that'll do that that's an accessibility
2:10:30 issue oh I would really like to be able
2:10:33 to express myself visually but I don't
2:10:35 know any artist friends and I can't
2:10:36 afford to pay them if I did and I I'm
2:10:39 not comfortable asking them for oh now
2:10:41 you can just make images oh okay well it
2:10:44 sure would be nice if I had some
2:10:45 background music that oh yeah oh here

2:10:51 okay like the accessibility for all of
2:10:55 us it's like there's it's like what AI
2:10:58 is providing is onramps for every talent
