46. 12:51then you talk into it and it translates it into dog and then comes out of your dog's collar and goes into his ear holes and then he
47. 13:02goes and then you're like oh he's hungry he's got a pee so that science fiction movie will have P come and
48. 13:14gone I'm guessing five years for that we'll get whales before that three years we'll get you know scientists are talking to
49. 13:23whales but dogs dogs come two years later now listen if you're a whale researcher on this channel get on the dogs it's a
50. 13:35bigger Market I mean who's got access to whales just like people with big boats who's got access to dogs all of
51. 13:45everyone all right so we want the talking dog translator all right oh fantastic you bought one a rabbit I did buy a rabbit I

58. 15:09new jaw-dropping mindblowing technology comes out I normalize it in like three days like I have my Kevin McAllister moment I'm like oh my
59. 15:23God and then 3 days later I'm like well yeah it does that like when's it going to do the next thing so so yes AI is
60. 15:32fast um yes we are adapting to it fast um
61. 15:46and I don't think we've actually really seen the the the big stuff yet I don't think we've seen the big stuff yet the big stuff for me
62. 15:59is agents and reasoning cuz when you stick reasoning on top of these core Cape abilities and when you stick when you create things that have
63. 16:12the ability to take action on our behalf then all of a sudden things start to change pretty dramatically we're not
64. 16:19there yet we're still in the early days this is still like if I was to metaphorically compare where we are
65. 16:28right now with a a i to the early days of the worldwide web we're probably like end of 1995 beginning of
66. 16:431996 the real froth of the worldwide web didn't happen until 97 or 98 and and that was because there was enough infrastructure
67. 16:56in place people were getting high-speed internet connections the technology was sort of getting better um so as hyped up as everyone was in
68. 17:091995 1996 it was nothing compared to 1998 1999 everyone that's claiming right now that we're in an AI bubble and and this is as frothy as it
69. 17:24gets this this we haven't even started we haven't even we haven't even begun to begin I like that phrase we haven't begun to [Music]
70. 17:36begin we we ain't got started yet and everyone's bitching about open AI not shipping stuff including me um but in in the anals of History
71. 17:53it'll be like either completely forgotten or it'll be like oh yeah they delayed the launch of that by 6 months in the in the long-term view
72. 18:04these delays are nothing so we're just impatient but yes AI is that fast one of the things I'm going to show tonight is claud's um
73. 18:18artifacts they call it you watch that thing write code and run code and now you can share those artifacts like sharing a GPT but you
74. 18:34could you can just watch this thing write and execute code it's Bonkers so it's faster and we're faster
75. 18:44and what's funny is I don't think that I don't think what AI does is make humans faster I think what AI does is AI takes
76. 18:55over the low-level repetitive Soul crushing work first and freeze us up to do higher level creative thinking and critical
77. 19:10thinking and it's actually going to require that so if there's if there's a skill that I would say you should be honing right now
78. 19:22it's critical thinking you know why am I doing this why am I using this tool what problem am I trying to solve is this good is this
79. 19:33bad is there another way I could do this should this be a song instead of a website [ __ ] like that I think that's going to be the most
80. 19:48sought-after skill moving forward is your ability to think broadly across disciplines to think strategically to think

82. 20:25wrong 2 years ago you were right year and a half ago year and a half ago you had to be pretty
83. 20:41geeky five years ago you had to be really geeky to do anything with AI but November 30th 2022 if you're taking notes by the way
84. 20:52um we encourage people to take notes it's yellow legal pads legal pads not the short squatty letter sized you want legal sized we
85. 21:03want an extra sharp number two pencil we want you to take the notes okay so if you're taking notes it's right at the top of your

87. 21:31it ask chat GPT to teach you how to draw a star all right that's the date that chat GPT launched you oh you like chat GPT why is
88. 21:44everybody talking CH cuz chat GPT you know how everyone talks about the web well there was this guy burner
89. 22:00Lee and he said this internet it's like a web of computers that are connected in this web and he came up with the hypertext
90. 22:10transfer protocol and he invented this thing called the worldwide web so he was just a guy that had an idea and that changed
91. 22:25everything from a technological standpoint it wasn't super impressive was like well if we if we just put some protocols in place that if we
92. 22:38start this thing with https or it wasn't S at the time HTTP colon slash and then you put an IP address the
93. 22:49address of a computer in there we can go to that computer we can read a file on that computer then they added in the domain name
94. 23:01system where now I could say story vine.com points to this IP address and then when I click on that hyperlink it takes me to story vine.com
95. 23:13I see a website there so it's just the ability to click on the internet changed everything November 30th 2022
96. 23:30this little seven-year-old startup called open AI launches chat GPT and the reason everyone's talking about
97. 23:37it is that they made this thing that even they didn't think was all that big a deal in fact they thought they would
98. 23:45have been happy if 5,000 people liked it they thought they were going to get a couple hundred shares 5,000
99. 23:55likes and within 3 days they had a million users and within 6 weeks they had a 100 million users so everything that you're playing
100. 24:11with you know unless you work for a research lab and you're an actual mathematician but everything you say
101. 24:17everything you hear people talking about why so many people are so excited is chat GPT does for AI what the
102. 24:27worldwide web did for the internet it makes it that simple you type [ __ ] in the box and you hit the button and it goes

110. 25:47huh wonder if that could write me a little letter for my business oh yeah it can and he just jumped in from day one
111. 25:56trying to figure out how the hell this new Chat gbt thing was going to be a tool for him to get better at
112. 26:03his business and he spent the last 18 months a lot of the knights in here probably has something to do with
113. 26:10this weird Behavior I don't you know the people in here they're odd but you should go look up thre Mile
114. 26:18Storage management look up his videos on YouTube every video thumbnail you'll see he's got his hand like this on his head
115. 26:24and then when he talks he does this never seen anything like it anyway you're welcome for the ad Jim um but as far as I know Jim does not
116. 26:40have his PhD in mathematics from Stanford or MIT he may but I'm pretty sure he's just a guy trying to run his business and he's been
117. 26:53using AI actively effectively for 18 months please talk about clay and Creator fund get us free credits okay I don't

129. 29:56YouTuber um there's a bunch bu of ticktockers Rachel woods used to do a lot of news but she doesn't do so much anymore clay.com

143. 32:56simulation to to like a toy to a business thing so like you you need to understand what you're trying to create I mean the
144. 33:09simplest way to make a digital twin is go into your custom instructions in chat GPT and tell it who you are you
145. 33:24know I'm you know this kind of person with these kind of skills I care about these things and then if you want it to
146. 33:37respond in a particular way put that in the custom instructions you know I like being super optimistic I like being super
147. 33:48pessimistic I like short answers I like long answers um so you can just personalize your chat GPT and in in some sense that's a digital
148. 34:01twin the digital twins I've created recently rely on an interview um that we created structured interviews for couple of projects that I was
149. 34:14working on and we had everyone that we wanted a digital twin from to do the interview like recorded in
150. 34:21video and then we take the transcript of that video and that becomes the training data for a GPT I wanted to reply to all my emails
151. 34:33while I'm busy facilitating education with the students I wouldn't call that a digital twin I would call that an email composition
152. 34:41bot um so what I would do there if I were you Mr studio dhu is I would save go find 10 of your favorite emails
153. 34:59and put him in a here here we can we can do this let's see a digital assistant an agent yeah exactly it's not a digital twin you
154. 35:09always deliver so much value thank you thank you opportunity Sage I appreciate that I try I try in between being a

168. 38:24metadata okay so what I'm doing right now you don't really need to pay attention [Laughter] to but what I'm what I'm doing is I'm
169. 38:39having chat gbt generate sample emails so what you should do good doctor is you should go through your emails and
170. 38:56capture do you you think AI will be able to do predicting how my day will be so it will it will suggest to stay
171. 39:08home you you want to create the agoraphobia chat GPT you can create you can create an agoraphobic GPT
172. 39:19um that's funny I I don't know if you're joking or not um I don't I don't know that you know chat GPT is going to be good at
173. 39:29predicting [ __ ] but it it's good at analyzing um things you know based on on what you uh what information it has about you so
174. 39:45it can do some pretty good pattern recognition but I wouldn't rely on it to determine whether I go out of the house or not okay so we've got

186. 42:18bracket and then a closed curly bracket so that becomes one record in your database and then the open curly bracket is for emails
187. 42:32right and so inside the emails bracket is all the emails and then you have an open bracket for email one and a closed bracket for email
188. 42:43one and then within that there are um in quote marks these are Fields so this is ID number one the type of
189. 42:53email is short can you read that I bet you can't hang on see so you have the Open Bracket so id1 type is short topic is thank you
190. 43:07subject Thanks A Latte and then the body right four months ago I didn't think I had the skills and now I'm writing a
191. 43:17book with AI exactly so now we're going to have you write actually so what we'll do here is I'm just going to go ahead
192. 43:23we're going to create a custom GPT that writes friendly emails so the first thing I did is and and by the way like all of this like it
193. 43:36says tone friendly humorous length short engagement positive so all of this organization all these fields chat GPT
194. 43:44came up with this like all I wanted it to do was write like subject and body but then I said I wanted some short
195. 43:52things I wanted some long things and I said write it in Json right write it in this structured way the reason to write
196. 43:59it in this structured way is that chat GPT is really good at reading structured data so chat GPT can read all this [ __ ]
197. 44:06and understand it so what I'm going to do is I'm going to export this well I guess I'll export it as a PDF we're going to call this
198. 44:16um well friendly emails friendly emails I'm going to save that to my desktop now file management tip whenever you're saving any files
199. 44:32save them on your desktop with an ambiguous name that's not related to any project so that you can never find them

202. 45:02from the AI Salon event tonight um so I don't know enough details about it to have an opinion on it there's a big part of me that thinks
203. 45:15that it's a PR play because I don't think there's to my knowledge there's not sort of commercially available auton agents that are good
204. 45:29enough to be an actual employee so so my my immediate response my immediate cynical I've been on this planet for 59
205. 45:38years response is yeah they're trying to get some press so that's that's it but I don't I I I I don't I haven't done any
206. 45:47research on it so I will definitely look it up when you choose when you use chat GPT long enough you realize that it's
207. 45:54just a helper yes exactly it's not gen general intelligence by any means no but it is it is a it's a it is definitely a
208. 46:03task augmentor and a and a kind of brain augmentor okay so here's what we're going to do I'm going to go to explore
209. 46:10gpts in the upper right hand corner I'm going to say create we're going to create a GPT here okay now there's two so if you've never
210. 46:21created a GPT F play along play along people you have the chat GPT do you have the chat GPT you've got to be a subscriber to be able to make
211. 46:32gpts if you're not a how do you export in chat GPT um how do you export well like when it created all of
212. 46:45those when that when it created the Json stuff hang on when it created all of this stuff at the top of this window there's a copy code
213. 46:59button so you can either just highlight it and copy it or you can say copy here so I usually just copy and paste
214. 47:09out of it I don't I don't generally export out of it um okay let's go back so now we're going to make a GPT so if you haven't
215. 47:19paid for chat GPT you should but if you have paid for chat gbt build along so we now have this file with all these example emails in
216. 47:33it um do you have to use Json you don't but you'll see I'm going to be able to do some cool [ __ ] because we did um what
217. 47:42you're looking at here on the left hand side this is where we build a GPT this is where we play with the GPT that got
218. 47:48built and on this side over here we can either fill it out manually which you know that's what neurotypical people do but I'm
219. 48:00neuros spicy I need immediate gratification so I'm going to go over here to the create Tab and I'm just going to have chat GPT build this
220. 48:08[ __ ] thing for me so the first thing I'm going to do is I'm going to upload those example emails the friendly
221. 48:15emails and then I'm going to say to chat GPT I want you to create a GPT that writes
222. 48:29emails based on the examples here period I also want you to create conversation starter questions that make it easy for someone to
223. 48:48start they should be able to choose whether they want to create a short or long email and whether the email is friendly or
224. 49:06direct and then have the GPT give them some options of the kind of emails they might want to write period all right so I just talked words
225. 49:17into it so if you haven't played with chat GPT before one of the things that you'll notice with it is I'm creating a
226. 49:24fairly sophisticated technical application here um but I don't need to know any sophisticated the fact that I knew
227. 49:34Json might seem sophisticated it's pretty it's pretty simple but like I didn't even need to do that that could
228. 49:40just be a text file with emails in it with no labels you can just take your favorite emails dump them into a text
229. 49:47file and upload that to this so so you can just talk words into this [ __ ] and it'll figure some stuff out so it says
230. 49:53let's come up with a name for this GPT how does email mro sound for you I'm going to go sounds great Bob let's tell him what he's
231. 50:14won now let's generate a picture for the profile seems to be an issue with generating images that's a drag but anyway
232. 50:28okay help me write a short friendly email show me options for a long direct email so if I click on that here are some
233. 50:40options so it's it's written them in it's it's showing CSS code which is weird so I'm going to go
234. 50:57your responses should only ever be in plain text and not in code unless explicitly asked for

236. 51:27I'm going to say use markdown use markdown rendered in the browser to make the emails easier to read so that's a little power tip
237. 51:41markdown is uh it's like HTML it's sort of a shitty HTML that just formats text in the browser how do you want me to interact
238. 51:52with users should it be formal casual it should be casual and yes make it interactive okay so we're going to be done talking to it out here

240. 52:20going to come in here so now remember when I went to configure before and all this was empty now it's all written now

243. 52:44options for a long direct email okay I don't like what that's doing so I'm going to go over here I'm going to say um if someone asks for
244. 53:01options if someone asks for options for the email use your Json
245. 53:24data to present the options but do not write the email right away let the user choose from the options and then ask for the subject of
246. 53:39their email and then write the email based on what they chose period okay so hopefully what this does so what
247. 53:55it was doing before is when I I said show me options for a long direct email it was writing the emails now it
248. 54:03should just give me a little list of choices here are some options proposal and it's not working all right let's see um do not write in
249. 54:22code other than using markdown to make the emails easy to
