9. 1:38although this summer that's not been the case but tonight it is it's nice and cool got some Us open on in the background

11. 1:55stuff the scammer is back which is a little demoralizing my Tick Tock shop that I set up last night was functional but
12. 2:06apparently I have to talk about and show products the whole time I'm live so that's shut down now and then there were
13. 2:13two orders on it and Tick Tock screwed them both UPS so I think I gotta I gotta return I gotta cancel those orders and
14. 2:21then if those people still want them I'll do it on printful or something like that but you know what are you gonna do
15. 2:26and then what else did I do I spent two hours on the phone with a t and treat a t trying to get some stupid
16. 2:35account thing worked out hey Ted what's happening uh so so it was a day of of uh technology and systems disappointments
17. 2:46complications and disappointments which one of the things I think AI is going to help us with is all these overly
18. 2:52complicated systems that are designed to confuse the [ __ ] out of us are gonna get simpler when we can just say hey solve
19. 2:59this problem for me and it goes off and does it I am looking very forward to that day at work in life with insurance companies
20. 3:09with loan with all of it all of it none of it should be this complicated right none of it none of it should be this complicated
21. 3:20error messages like something went wrong you know no we have a I know you can figure out what went wrong have it read
22. 3:29the code have it read whatever exceptioned and say what went wrong is you were logged into this account but not that
23. 3:38account and therefore our system didn't know how to handle that so if you go log out of that one and into this one it'll
24. 3:43probably work you know right am I wrong no I'm not wrong [ __ ] shouldn't be this complicated anyway lunish sticks here okay Farmers

35. 5:46image generation tool that does text did you know that did you know it did you know it I'll I'll talk about that in a second
36. 5:56um let's get rolling here so um welcome to the AI learning lab my name is Kyle Shannon I'm an entrepreneur
37. 6:02I'm a uh co-founder and CEO of a company called storybine which is an 11 year old company that does automated video storytelling
38. 6:11and we do a lot of work in healthcare and Pharma and rocking and rolling oddly enough we don't use a ton of AI in Auto
39. 6:18automatically Auto magically editing our videos um but we're rolling a lot of AI into it um I was an entrepreneur entrepreneur in
40. 6:27the mid 90s in the early days of the world wide web and the parallels between the early days of the web and the early
41. 6:33days of what we're going through right now like in the last nine months with this generative AI [ __ ] are crazy crazy
42. 6:42it's cool it's really cool so anyways I like talking about that stuff if you have questions about AI or comments or
43. 6:48thoughts or just whatever pop them in the comments below I'll do my bus best to answer them I try to be honest I try
44. 6:57to be fun I make funny little voices I'll occasionally cuss when I get all fired up I just lose my mind and I cuss
45. 7:04so if you don't like to cussing get out just because I'll do it some some uptight dude was in here the other day
46. 7:10you know you're you're cut you're uh your swearing makes you look tacky all right I'm tacky I'm not the most sophisticated of the uh
47. 7:19of the tick talkers foreign ly just not very sophisticated um okay so here's what we're gonna do if you're new to this AI stuff
48. 7:35I'm gonna give you some tips so this is like this is like my top 10 list except just like top 11 list and these are the big three the top
49. 7:44three right here if you're brand new if you've never used chat GPT before go there right now that one that one it's uh chat GPT that's the
50. 7:54official website chat.openai.com just start playing if you don't know what to say to it if it's just like a Google
51. 8:00search box but it's not a search engine it is a just start having a conversation with it just start asking it to do
52. 8:07things for you answering questions for you or solving problems for you if you don't know what to do with it go to
53. 8:12prompts.chat that thing below there and it will teach you how to talk to these things and and you'll start to get a real good
54. 8:20sense that document gives you a very good sense of how deep these things are and what they can possibly do for you it's
55. 8:28it's pretty mind-blowing so so that's a good one Claude and Bard bard.google.com and cloud.ai are those are the ones that
56. 8:36I'm considering right now kind of the top three of my go-to's they all kind of do slightly different things like bards connected to the
57. 8:43internet Claude lets you put in really big prompts and chat GPT is just best and it has this thing called Advanced
58. 8:49data analytics which is incredibly powerful so that's that the next four on the list are Bing perplexity.ai pi and po
59. 9:01um piinpo sounds like some bad children's nursery rhyme that was pie and that was pole and Poe said to pie and pie said to Poe
60. 9:14um were it not for a single letter but but anyway Bing is Microsoft's version of chat GPT it's it's built on the GPT
61. 9:22for large language model it's connected to the internet it can make images um the reason it's on in the in the on
62. 9:30the kids table on the second list is because it's the safety guard rails on it are so overblown right now it makes
63. 9:38it kind of unusable sometimes um lab stop perplexity uh is uh perplexity AI is hosting llamas or metas llama 2 models and their code llama
64. 9:50model so if you want to go play with those open source models that meta put out there without installing [ __ ] go do it
65. 9:57um Pi dot AI is what we call chatty GPT if you want to have a good conversation with a large language model and you're
66. 10:03like but Kyle why would I want to do that you should just try it Go download the PI app Pi personal assistant search for that you'll find it
67. 10:11it's from a company called inflection and and put it in voice mode and just start talking to it and it is not Alexa
68. 10:18it is not Siri it's it's it's a conversation of a different nature and it's connected to the internet it's
69. 10:25actually pretty interesting and then po will let you make Bots and things like that so that's that so the next pile of
70. 10:31[ __ ] on the list are the image tools so there's kind of there's there's a handful of major players mid
71. 10:40Journey's the one that's got the the most sophisticated image generation stable diffusion which is kind of
72. 10:46represented with these bottom two things here is the most um sort of technically adventurous right it's open source the the developer
73. 10:55communities making all sorts of stuff for it if you really want to geek out with something that's stable diffusion
74. 11:00Leonardo is is a simple web front end on top of stable diffusion and clip drop is from stability AI the company behind it
75. 11:08and then ideogram this little sneaky bastard they snuck out of nowhere it's like it's like a 10 day old well the the
76. 11:16thing's been launched for about 10 days ideogram and ideogram is what's doing all this typography in image generation that was not done in
77. 11:28Photoshop or illustrator this is all done in ideogram so now these are obviously the selects the ones that I got that actually it
78. 11:37made the words correctly it makes the words incorrectly a lot but still pretty cool and then prompt book
79. 11:45openart.ai prompt book will teach you how to talk to these things so you got prompts.chat for the words and prompt book for the pictures and
80. 11:53then you got futurepedia.io which is like 4 000 AI tools and you can go you can go down many rabbit holes so go do that
81. 12:01um couple other things for those of you that have been here for a while in the ongoing soap opera that is the scammer he's back
82. 12:11um he's only copied about 20 of my videos at this point instead of like 100 like he had before but he's back so AI
83. 12:18learning lab is me is this is is our happy little house here this AI learning lab with 2ls in in front of learning that's the [ __ ] and
84. 12:29he comes into my lives he hangs out here so if after the live tonight someone purporting to me me reaches out to you
85. 12:36and says hey how's it going you're swell it's not me um we we can we can uh you know chat in other ways like like on the AI Salon
86. 12:50Discord or whatever but anyway um he's a jerk he's trying to get people to buy his crypto multi-level marketing
87. 12:57scheme so just report him report him for intellectual property theft report him for uh impersonating a celebrity which
88. 13:05you're like but Kyle you're not a celebrity um really how do we Define celebrity I think I'm a celebrity therefore yeah I'm a celebrity so
89. 13:14Tick Tock doesn't give us an answer for uh he's trying to scam us so um so anyway that's that all right the
90. 13:21other thing is last night I announced that we had a tick tock shop with t-shirts which we did but apparently if
91. 13:28you're gonna have products on Tick Tock you have to talk about them and show them and and the channel has to become
92. 13:35about selling [ __ ] well [ __ ] that I'm not gonna do that I did that as kind of a courtesy so I'll figure out a way what
93. 13:42what I'm going to likely do is I'll just put up a printful shop and then I'll stick it in my link tree so we'll we'll
94. 13:50put a link tree together and the shop will be in there so anyway if if you're one of the Irregulars there were two
95. 13:57people that ordered last night and Tick Tock screwed up those orders I'm probably going to cancel those orders so if you were one of them

117. 16:58got to it was like 75 000 or maybe it was 70 000 something like that it was pretty good last night the all-time

121. 17:42has just gotten more and more and more complicated and I do believe that this generative AI stuff is going to give us the gift of not that
122. 17:55I think it's going to give us the gift of Simplicity I think I the thing that I'm the the thing that I'm most excited
123. 18:02about is I learn about these tools is that they can understand really complicated things they can ingest
124. 18:12complicated documents and read them for you and interpret them for you and analyze them for you they can take complicated processes and
125. 18:23understand them they can write code they can read code they can document code so yeah so what if they
126. 18:33make the ugly [ __ ] less ugly and what if we got like so today I woke up and it it was clear that Tick Tock didn't give
127. 18:45a [ __ ] how I wanted to have my store that they were just gonna ding me and shut down the account or whatever I
128. 18:51don't know but I I don't care what it however I was doing the story was not acceptable to them then they also
129. 18:57screwed up the two orders that I got then I went to printful and they couldn't answer anything and I I just my
130. 19:04help thing went into some vacuum which I'll probably hear back tomorrow so then there was that then I got a note
131. 19:10from a t that said the thing that I resolved on the phone two weeks ago is now unresolved and they canceled my discount that I had spent
132. 19:20two hours last week or two weeks ago trying to fix so so just all day today it's just been complicated system meltdown
133. 19:29and uh so I'm I'm I'm particularly I'm a little sensitive I do declare I'm just I'm a little I'm a little rubbed raw if
134. 19:39you know what I mean I'm a little sensitive and I'm I would love for these things to make life a little less shitty
135. 19:50dang it oh and the hair is starting to go it's this could be a rough night from a quaff perspective also so you

144. 21:24have to pay them let's just do that that I get completely laudable like as a strategy chef's kiss brilliant

146. 21:44we we just that's got to be hard too passwords first it was captions then it's two-factor authentication now it's
147. 21:56two-factor authentication with a a super secret passcode and a click and a thing and really really I just steal my [ __ ] data like
148. 22:06here's my bank passcode here's my Social Security the scammer already wants to do that anyway we should just give it
149. 22:11wouldn't it be easier just give your [ __ ] up foreign bitter you betcha uh

158. 23:48all these crazy characters that this was done in dreambooth and stable diffusion like a year ago yeah it was you know what's funny it was
159. 23:57it was about this time last year I was playing with a project called pixel mind and I just heard about dream
160. 24:03Booth or like right around this time dream Booth came out and I'm like I gotta get stable diffusion up and running I wanna I wanna
161. 24:10see what this dream Booth thing's all about I failed nine times nine different sessions where I sat down went to Reddit
162. 24:22found a Google collab notebook tried to run it didn't understand what the [ __ ] I was doing didn't quite understand how to
163. 24:30connect it to Google Drive tried to run it it errored out on me nine [ __ ] times it took me like a month and a half of just you know trying
164. 24:40it slamming my face against the desk and then going [ __ ] it and then like I don't know a week later I'd go yeah
165. 24:51maybe I should try that again I'd try it [ __ ] nine times and then I finally got it and when I got it then I just spent many many
166. 25:02weeks making these images where where what was cool about sort of stumbling on this thing where I could upload images
167. 25:09of myself that one's [ __ ] hilarious um and like seeing these images that were kind of me but not me it was like
168. 25:22it was like living vicariously through through these fictional versions of myself and I thought huh like that's kind of
169. 25:33cool like I want to know the stories of these people like what choices did they make in their life or like what version
170. 25:40of our reality are they living in that they ended up like this and not like me that was kind of cool anyway I don't
171. 25:49know what got us on to that someone said something oh failed Pixar franchise see that's this is the other thing that that
172. 25:55uh the Irregulars uh have have nicknamed the AI learning lab is chat add so welcome to chat add where we just
173. 26:05[ __ ] go you you pop prompts in down below I'm kind of like chat gbt except with much less knowledge and I act like
174. 26:15an idiot and I have ADD so so uh so we'll just twirl around for a while let me go find one of these that I like
175. 26:23and they all kind of feel the same to me right now I got to make some more of these well that could be another thing if you
176. 26:30want to go to go to ideogram ideogram dot a i and just start making some uh making some images and if you make any
177. 26:42cool AI learning lab ones uh you can share them on the Discord the AI Salon Discord which I'll talk about in a bit

184. 28:07how do you make money with Chachi BT how do you how do you um well right now we're so early so a lot of these tools a lot of the tools like
185. 28:22chat GPT and Claude and Bard and just all of them um are what I like to call janky pieces of [ __ ] they are profoundly powerful
186. 28:33but they're very very early like we're we're Within kind of a within a nine to ten month window of chat GPT being the first thing
187. 28:43out of the gate that was kind of machine learning for the rest of us right so chat GPT in my opinion is the equivalent
188. 28:51of what the World Wide Web was to the Internet so the internet had been around for decades Tim berners-le invents this
189. 28:57thing called the world wide web and you can just click on the internet and it takes you to documents all over the world
190. 29:04and it changed everything right because it went from you needed to be kind of a geek to understand the internet and FTP
191. 29:10servers and gopher servers that you had to dial up to all that sort of [ __ ] to like I want that I want that I want that
192. 29:19Chachi PT is the equivalent of that for these large language models and so all of these tools right now are
193. 29:29um super raw and the the core technology is like just good enough that it it blows your mind and you can kind of see
194. 29:37what the future is going to look like um but it's not really ready for prime time so so one I think part of the short
195. 29:44term money for for things like chat gbt and for these AI tools are education so anyone who learns anything about it can
196. 29:52start talking about it and saying here's what I've learned here's what I've learned everyone's Hungry For answers
197. 29:57right now there are not great answers from anyone there are no experts this stuff's too raw there are experts in
198. 30:04machine learning and there are experts in in you know neural networks and embeddings and Vector databases and Lang
199. 30:13chain and all the sort of technical stuff lots of experts in that but there are no experts in how do we use tools like chat GPT and like
200. 30:22mid-journey and ideogram how do we use them as part of our daily workflow I don't know I'm doing everything I can and then the
201. 30:32minute I get something figured out some new tool comes along and reinvents it again and then reinvents it again and
202. 30:37then reinvents it again so um so so we're in a in a state of um you know primordial ooze right now so
203. 30:46so a lot of the money right now is going to be in just figuring [ __ ] out getting your name out there as someone who knows
204. 30:51something about this um as things start start to stabilize then you know you'll either be able to create a company really quickly or
205. 31:00you'll be able to create a service business really quickly I know there was kind of a whole rash of um automation agencies that are taking
206. 31:08tools like zapier and combining that with calls to open AI to these large language models and doing business
207. 31:14automations that are like these magical [ __ ] applications that they can whip up in a week or a day
208. 31:22um and and selling those to companies so there might be ways to do with that my philosophy on this stuff is that you
209. 31:28don't make money with chat GPT you make money by solving problems that other people have that if you solve it good enough
210. 31:38they're willing to give you money for it and you just happen to be using these as the tool to get there
211. 31:44so I would say don't don't think about how do you make money with chat GPT think about what's a problem I can solve
212. 31:51and if I know these things well enough maybe I can do it better faster or cheaper than the competition so that's
213. 31:58the that's the secret unlock here is what these things amplify which is your intention and your your skills
214. 32:08they're not doing [ __ ] on their own so I think that was your question I hope that was question that was your question

216. 32:22totally a whole underground thing that happens that in in the comments and it's very very cool I gotta say the community

219. 32:52gone and played with promptbook it's like a 96 page PowerPoint presentation that was designed for stable diffusion
220. 32:59but it's it's it's decently Universal across all these these image things but what it tells you is just how remarkably um
221. 33:08comprehensive these image tools are in understanding all sorts of art Concepts like you know camera lenses and film
222. 33:16types and illustration types and art types and lighting conditions and just you know Styles like cyberpunk and retro
223. 33:26Punk and future Punk and elbow Punk oh you just like all of that [ __ ] think of any art history class you took
224. 33:36these tools kind of know all of that [ __ ] so so the prompt book is a is a really neat um primer that that kind of reconnects
225. 33:47you with oh yeah there's like the art world is deep and and using something like prompt book and those Concepts you can make
226. 33:55art that is Will it'll blow your mind I mean it blows my mind anyway say it slower please what do the shirts look like we

473. 1:13:07to it like you're having a conversation with someone is really quite remarkable you really kind of get a glimpse into
474. 1:13:12the future that when they reduce the latency when it doesn't kind of pause for half a second in between answers um
475. 1:13:21you kind of get a glimpse into where these things are going and and how powerful they're going to be so inflection is the company behind pie
476. 1:13:31they're setting out to make the world's greatest personal assistant or I don't know if greatest is in their marketing
477. 1:13:38but that's just ostensibly what they're saying they just raised 1.3 billion dollars they're spending about 950 million of
478. 1:13:48that on 22 000 h100 Nvidia gpus so they're building a massive gpe Farm so what that says to me is they're going
479. 1:13:59to be working on a Frontier Model so they're going to be working on their own kind of version of gpt4 that's probably
480. 1:14:05going to be optimized for helping people they're likely going to do some autonomous agent stuff where you'll just
481. 1:14:12be able to say to pie hey pie are there any specials to Barcelona this weekend oh let me go check yeah there's
482. 1:14:21two specials on these things and you have frequent flyer miles with one of them would you like me to go book you a
483. 1:14:28flight to Barcelona sure and it will just go do it like that's so where I think this thing is headed
484. 1:14:35is it will be agents that just do [ __ ] for you and I so so how far out is that that's probably two to three years out I would I would
485. 1:14:46assume that the next the next iterations of Pi they could be reduced latency so so reduced pauses in between when you ask
486. 1:15:02it something and when it responds but I feel like that's a bigger problem and that might that might require their 22 000 GPU Farm to do that
487. 1:15:13um I don't know I would think that that a more sophisticated conversational model because right now it really is
488. 1:15:28kind of annoying where you can't get it to be efficient right it'll if you just say hey I just want a list of these specific items
489. 1:15:39it'll go hey really appreciate that you want that list let me just clarify one thing so it's very very chatty so I would think getting more
490. 1:15:48sophisticated in how it does its conversation and the understanding that there's sometimes you want it to be
491. 1:15:53efficient there's other times when you want to have a therapy session and that those are two very distinct modes
492. 1:16:00because I think I would think there could be something with modes I think there could be an improvement in how natural the voice sounds
493. 1:16:07it's still a little monotone and robotic like all these things are um and then I would I would think that they might start teasing
494. 1:16:17some its ability to take actions right so maybe they cut a deal with Expedia or maybe they cut a deal with I don't know
495. 1:16:27instacart right and you can just say hey pie you know can you can you um go give me a you know go order me some groceries
496. 1:16:40one thing that Pi does decently well that I think it would be an area that would make it really interesting and
497. 1:16:48maybe this is an area of improvement that's in the next version is that it remembers your conversations over time right so if

499. 1:17:07have to kind of start over and give it an update wouldn't it be cool if you could just say hey hi remember when I

502. 1:17:25new company and this happened and then that happened and now we're building this no new new Tool oh that's great could you come up with 10

516. 1:19:42we're so polarized in this country right now that there are there are lists of words on both sides of the aisle

518. 1:20:00can say those words and they don't respond emotionally and they'll give you nuanced answers and it's like oh God imagine if I had a

533. 1:22:30about these is that I think the robots are going to make us better people I think they're going to make us treat

696. 1:49:57often it will hallucinate and describe it wrong and and how he how he um how he talked about why it hallucinated is that
697. 1:50:10sitting inside chat GPT so sitting inside this model is kind of it's been trained on all of the public internet or as much as they could get
698. 1:50:21their hands on so some percentage of the public internet a lot of it well what's on the public internet well

718. 1:52:59there so if you did something in perplexity like narrow the conversation or have a longer conversation about
719. 1:53:05presidents and you know it's going to play the role of the historian or or you're you know you're just talking with
720. 1:53:12it back and forth in the context of American history and presidential history and you mentioned Michael

815. 2:09:16complicate The Prompt um it can get confused and and you you and it ends up making it a lot less predictable um that's on the image side
816. 2:09:25similarly on the on the language side with chat GPT sometimes you want it to have a broad context so so for example if you're um
817. 2:09:34if you're just doing some ideation stuff and you kind of want things from Left Field sometimes it's better to have it have a
818. 2:09:42little less context but if you're trying to actually get a specific answer or or you really want it you know
819. 2:09:52you want it more predictable than having enough context around it um to sort of steer it in a direction can help a lot
820. 2:10:02the other thing that these are good at don't think that you always have to completely invent and craft all of the
821. 2:10:09conversation up top you could start out and you could say um hey Chachi BT um I don't know much about um tomato horticulture
822. 2:10:24um is that something that you could help me learn and it would say absolutely blah blah blah here's the things and
823. 2:10:29then and then you would say well here's the climate I live in and and you know what can you tell me about that well here
824. 2:10:36so you can actually have it provide its own context and then start asking questions right and it'll get good then
825. 2:10:44because it kind of knows oh this is what we're talking about now right it's already kind of narrowed its semantic
826. 2:10:50regions down in answering the questions for you so that's a way you can do it the other thing that they're really good
827. 2:10:58at is give it examples so um given an example of an email or a blog post that you wrote or tweets maybe your company writes Tweets in a very
828. 2:11:09particular format and it always includes the URL and and you they all have pithy humor to them you could say here's 10
829. 2:11:17tweets that that that represent the kind of tweets that we like to write please write 10 more on the following topic or topics um
830. 2:11:29that follow the tone structure and humor of the examples above it's really good at that it's really good at analyzing stuff
831. 2:11:39um it's also good at um you know helping you improve something maybe you wrote something and you're like this just doesn't feel right you

848. 2:14:13is that almost all of these tools are going to get multimodal where they'll do images audio voice synthesis um probably some video um
849. 2:14:27in in a fairly integrated way um they're not there yet everything's a little a little gentified right now so what what I would do is
850. 2:14:37I would start Sabrina with what's the problem you're trying to solve first figure out what what you actually want
851. 2:14:44to produce and then figure out what are the best tools to contribute to that so like if you just need like images with
852. 2:14:50words integrated in them ideogram's great but if you want to turn that into a video then you might need something like runwayml that's gonna
853. 2:15:00you know do well or not um if you want this to be print ready you might need something like topaz Labs
854. 2:15:07photo AI tool where you can enlarge it or you need to do that within stable diffusion so there's start with your use case understand the

870. 2:17:42for something at work and then I go to these tools now I know exactly what to do so it's the same with making money so
871. 2:17:48don't think about the tool first think about what are you good at who do you know what are problems you know need
872. 2:17:54solving that you maybe have an idea on how to do and then say okay now that I know what problem I want to
873. 2:18:03solve or the thing that I want to do that I think will resonate with these people now I'm going to go to these
874. 2:18:08tools and say can I do it better faster or cheaper using these tools than I did traditionally and the answer is [ __ ]
875. 2:18:16yes like the answer is like probably 10 times faster or 10 times cheaper or 10 times better or half as cheap twice as good right there
876. 2:18:29used to be that old adage you can have it good faster cheap choose any two right you can have it good and cheap or
