Live Stream2025-02-121:39:35126 views

Description

This livestream, hosted by Kyle Shannon, focused on exploring various AI tools and discussing the broader implications of AI's rapid advancement. Shannon showcased Jellypod, a podcast creation tool that combines voice synthesis, large language models, and social media posting capabilities. He demonstrated its use by creating a podcast episode about ice cream, highlighting the ease with which AI can generate content. He also touched on other tools like Notebook LM for summarizing information from PDFs and discussed the different stages of AI adoption, emphasizing the importance of embracing AI's potential rather than fearing it. Shannon also briefly discussed the Latvian AI-generated film, "Flow," and its recent award recognition. Throughout the stream, Shannon interacted with the audience, answering questions about AI agents, language learning apps, and the future of AI. He encouraged viewers to engage with AI tools and shared his own excitement about the creative possibilities they unlock. He expressed concern about the overuse of emojis in AI-generated content, attributing it to a hypothetical "emoji insertion" model within ChatGPT. He concluded by promoting his AI Salon community and encouraging viewers to like and subscribe to his channels. 1:35 you're feeling nervous aren you
1:38 boy gentle with your quiet
1:41 voice and impeccable
1:46 style don't ever let them steal a
1:50 joy any gentle ways to keep them from
1:54 running
1:57 wild they can kick dirt in your face
2:00 press you down and tell you that your
2:02 place is in the middle when they hate
2:05 the way you
2:08 shine I see you tugging on your
2:12 shirt trying to hide inside of it I'd
2:16 have it
2:18 hurts let
2:20 them while they
2:23 care let them
2:26 spin let them scatter in the
2:32 I've been movies I've
2:37 seen the
2:39 J on
2:45 [Music]
3:09 good evening good people of the Tik toks
3:12 and the YouTubes and the
3:16 X whatever happened didn't there used to
3:19 be a social media Network it was what
3:21 was it called was like glitter
3:25 glitter
3:27 glitter titter no Twitter it was called
3:32 Twitter whatever happened to that
3:35 [Music]
4:12 so let me ask you with everything going
4:15 on in the world is it still offensive to
4:19 respond with a thumbs up emoji
4:23 [Laughter]
4:25 [Music]
4:34 how is everybody tonight happy Tuesday
4:43 night Dr J give me the thumbs up
4:48 [Music]
5:15 oh do me a favor on the Tik Tock this
5:18 one over here you all people share the
5:21 share the live if you would um the Tik
5:25 Tock gods have decided that fat old men
5:28 playing mediocre guitar
5:31 two hours a night five nights a week is
5:33 not worth promoting so could you help
5:35 with that
5:36 [Music]
6:07 silly question but how do you do that um
6:11 silly answer I don't
6:14 know I think you click the little arrow
6:17 button on the bottom and then it says
6:20 share
6:22 correct yes after two and a half years
6:26 the arrow button on the bottom right for
6:28 me it's right there
6:32 and then you
6:33 got and then you pick your friends and
6:36 what you should do is pick friends who
6:37 you know it will piss off if you send
6:40 them something about AI That's who we
6:41 want in here we want the Nero
6:45 Wells we want the
6:48 Skeptics
6:49 um all right we got we got no one over
6:52 on YouTube either I don't know I don't
6:55 know what's going on apparently
6:58 apparently apparently the of the channel
7:01 has has reached its peak we're coming
7:04 we're coming back down the other side I
7:06 guess I should just keep playing songs
7:07 till people show up is that Alec Baldwin
7:10 playing
7:11 guitar Rosie O'Donnell can't
7:14 [Music]
7:19 [Applause]
7:28 sing there been something
7:31 baby I've been trying to
7:37 say age and it seems I don't know
7:41 [Applause]
7:44 how on not Twitter what's on what's on
7:47 not
7:48 [Music]
7:50 Twitter four people on not
7:55 Twitter there's been something baby I've
7:58 been trying to say
8:02 for an age and it seems I don't know
8:06 how James dter Vicky's Vicky's on the
8:10 YouTube James D's on the
8:12 YouTube past and the future now
8:15 surrounding
8:18 me surrender to whatever treap can be
8:23 found there's been a little
8:26 trouble since you came to my rescue
8:30 [Music]
8:34 and if you like all of the rest I would
8:36 have quit you long ago but I couldn't do
8:40 that you know what would what would
8:43 probably be wildly popular and I'm sure
8:46 I'm sure the technology we could do this
8:48 with a a Raspberry Pi which I have
8:51 around
8:53 here I would think it would be
8:55 relatively trivial to get me an actual
8:57 shock collar
9:03 and if you like super comment me on
9:06 YouTube it zaps me and like the whole
9:08 the whole premise of the channel would
9:10 change where I'm teaching AI stuff like
9:13 I do except I have to do it while
9:16 getting shocked by all of you I think
9:19 people would watch just to torture me
9:25 [Music]
9:30 yeah Cod it in
9:33 [Music]
9:39 lovable there's been something baby I've
9:42 been trying to
9:45 say what age and it seems I don't know
9:51 how past and the future now surrounding
9:56 me surrender to whatever treat fi can be
10:01 found there's there's been little
10:05 trouble since you came to my
10:09 [Music]
10:12 rescue and if you like all of the rest I
10:16 would have quit you long ago but I
10:18 couldn't do
10:23 that oh tell me now women and never went
10:28 too well
10:31 make a man crazy make him cold as
10:36 hell I know night you wish me
10:40 well but in spite of your trying still
10:44 going to have to
10:46 find long way
10:49 through yeah y
10:53 [Music]
10:58 yeah back the miss of morning my dream
11:02 remains all right we got some more
11:04 people in here we're up in the 20s now
11:09 [Music]
11:31 I was thinking the other
11:34 day cuse because I know how to I know
11:37 how to use my brain someone was playing
11:39 a 12 string guitar on some Tik Tok
11:41 Channel I'm like I miss a 12 string
11:43 guitar they're
11:47 beautiful they're very specific but
11:49 they're they're beautiful
11:51 [Music]
12:12 [Applause]
12:15 [Music]
12:26 all right I guess we could get started
12:29 here get going who wants to talk about
12:31 what nice nice shirt Kyle thank you
12:34 Story vine fantastic

12:55 no no show on Friday it's Valentine's
12:59 Day you should you should you know
13:01 Friday night date night with someone
13:03 other than me um and I have to as well
13:06 because it's my it's not only
13:07 Valentine's Day it's my
13:11 [Music]
13:18 anniversary thank you so much James very
13:20 nice very nice very
13:26 nice Mr it in the
13:28 house Winston Hardy
13:32 [Music]
13:35 here Firefly congratulations Kyle you
13:38 and the misses thank you very much Lori
13:40 Ryan before hopping on the call I
13:42 created a silly check
13:46 wait what you learned quiz to wrap up my
13:49 AI training oh that's
13:51 [Music]
13:56 interesting that's smart
14:01 [Music]
14:08 do you remember
14:10 like eight months ago was it eight
14:12 months
14:13 [Music]
14:18 [Applause]
14:20 [Music]
14:23 ago I was in this sort of existential
14:26 crisis no existential
14:30 far too strong I was in a quandry about
14:33 this
14:36 Channel and what hit me was
14:40 um that the the nature of the channel
14:43 had to change that it wasn't about tools
14:44 anymore it was about what you do with
14:46 them and I feel like I'm entering
14:49 another kind of
14:51 [Music]
14:57 quandry see I have
15:00 this is this is a bit of a
15:02 burden for me
15:07 anyway I seem to have a an aptitude for
15:12 I can look at what's going on and what's
15:13 happening in the news and what's
15:15 happening with the tools and stuff like
15:19 that and I can I can quickly pattern
15:21 match and I can see where things are
15:25 going and
15:31 right now for the past two
15:33 months the quality of the tools has hit
15:36 an exponential
15:38 curve so the quality of the large
15:40 language models is going up everything's
15:43 as good as 01 preview now even the open
15:45 source
15:46 stuff
15:48 um all the new 04 and 05 and gp5 and
15:52 whatever grock 3 all that shit's
15:55 coming and then behind all that are
15:58 agents and we have you know little taste
16:00 of Agents here and
16:02 [Music]
16:10 there my quantry
16:17 is what should we put our time on right
16:19 now that prepares us for that I don't
16:21 flip a
16:24 no shock color
16:26 instructions what's this
16:32 what did I do I lost my r no rutro I
16:36 lost my potit hang
16:38 on where' they go oh there they
16:44 are hang on hang on a
16:47 second
16:54 copy because I want to be useful it said
16:57 content failed to load
17:12 oh my my producer's giving me broken
17:14 URLs as a
17:16 [Laughter]
17:20 test so so what we will do tonight is
17:24 we'll we'll do a jelly
17:26 pod we'll make a
17:30 zest wait AET Z
17:33 AET zet hello
17:38 zet you got to be careful how you say
17:40 that name you could very easily offend
17:43 someone you'll probably talk about it
17:45 how was your trip uh what's new in the
17:48 AI World well that's I so I was just
17:51 talking about what's new in the AI world
17:53 is
17:54 that we're we're in a Lial state right
17:57 now and when we're in when we're in a
17:59 limal State I tend to not be in a good
18:02 way I like to know I like to have a good
18:05 sense of what the future feels like and
18:07 I don't write now and that makes
18:09 me that gives me
18:12 aa I'm a little fed if you know what I
18:18 mean are there top AI apps that you or
18:21 everyone use the most that's a good
18:24 question perhaps a poll either here or
18:27 within the salon
18:34 um I mean there are definitely tools
18:37 that I use the I mean I would say if
18:39 there's one I go back to all the time
18:41 it's chat
18:44 GPT you know the Google apps are really
18:48 good but they're really fragmented
18:50 really hard to find if you don't have
18:53 solid bookmarking skills um good luck
18:56 finding the Google
18:57 [ __ ] um Claude I just stopped using
19:00 there's something about claude's
19:02 interface I just don't like how it looks
19:05 some people swear by Claude I just I
19:07 think I imprinted on chat
19:11 GPT
19:12 um perplexity I'll occasionally use but
19:16 I lost my I got a year of free
19:18 perplexity Pro when I bought my rabbit
19:21 and that's now expired so I don't feel
19:23 like spending 20 bucks a month for
19:25 perplexity Pro because I didn't really
19:27 use it I used it
19:31 occasionally I use mid Journey all the
19:34 time I use 11 Labs all the time I use H
19:36 Jen all the
19:39 time I spent today making video personas
19:44 using ha Jen and 11 labs in my own
19:47 acting voice I acted with these DED
19:50 tones I was like hello doctor you should
19:54 come to my website and get product
19:57 information and then I swapped out my
19:59 voice for some
20:02 hot Pharma sales rep
20:04 [Laughter]
20:07 [Music]
20:12 voice yeah no I bought a year perplexity
20:15 and got a free rabbit I always run out
20:18 of chat with Claude yeah at the worst
20:21 possible time yeah that's the other
20:23 thing like here's like here's the other
20:25 thing about Claude they haven't updated
20:27 the [ __ ] product in I don't know
20:29 eight months and I mean they they added
20:33 projects or whatever the [ __ ] that thing
20:34 was called but like it still can't
20:37 generate images it's still not connected
20:39 to the
20:40 internet how is Claude not connected to
20:43 the
20:44 internet like what what what are you
20:47 doing over
20:48 there we're writing papers on AI safety
20:52 well it's certainly safe if you don't
20:54 connect it to
20:55 anything wasn't the whole point of that
20:57 company to put things out in the world
20:59 to figure out what made them safe or
21:02 not anyway the reinforcement advice have
21:05 been great with GPT still learning new
21:08 things and it's been very helpful thanks
21:10 of
21:11 [Music]
21:14 course did you say shout color
21:19 instructions I don't I don't know what I
21:23 said you can make money
21:26 with I do not know
21:30 updated tested link oh
21:33 now it looks like Brandon's got
21:36 something for us to play
21:38 with what is
21:41 this still says failed to load are you
21:43 sure you shared
21:45 it all right let's go to let's go to
21:47 Jelly pod enough of this
21:53 [Music]
21:55 nonsense I'm gonna delete this one
21:59 here hang
22:04 [Music]
22:09 [Music]
22:15 on I don't understand what that singing
22:18 is why is he singing songs like that
22:21 it's very
22:22 annoying oh thanks for lots of love
22:25 going on on Tik Tok you Tik tokers have
22:27 you've decided to entertain yourself
22:29 elves in the absence of entertainment
22:30 here I like it it's
22:35 solid all right here we are at what the
22:38 fact what the fact if you don't know
22:42 what we're looking at here shame on
22:45 you
22:47 um this is our little podcast that we
22:53 make um
23:01 [Music]
23:08 um we're gonna make a new
23:09 [Music]
23:11 episode and then we're gonna go to chat
23:13 jie
23:18 Tha
23:21 podcast
23:23 Swang we're up to episode 10 kids
23:29 pangang if you have if you're new here
23:33 and you're thinking like uh hey Kyle
23:35 quick question what the [ __ ] is this
23:37 channel um good question good question
23:41 there are no dumb questions that's not
23:42 true there're absolutely dumb questions
23:45 and we will make fun of you if you ask
23:46 one of them um
23:51 but this what this channel is about is
23:55 about me waxing poetic about whatever is
23:59 inspiring me with AI this day or the
24:03 other
24:06 [Music]
24:08 um so unable to create
24:12 episode please contact support uh oh
24:15 rutro I think I gotta reload the page is
24:17 my guess
24:32 so the tool that we're playing with
24:34 right now is called jelly pod jelly pod.
24:38 a at source
24:41 create there we
24:44 go and it allows you to
24:47 design um podcast
24:50 personalities like
24:52 voices and then it'll help you write
24:55 podcasts or in my case I use chat gptt
24:57 to do it Tick Tock question yes what's
25:00 the Tik Tock
25:01 [Music]
25:10 question love the voices they inspire
25:13 me have you played with Gemini Pro 2.0
25:17 no we could play with that tonight a
25:18 little bit I haven't played with it a
25:19 lot I mean the Gemini the uh oh
25:24 something's something's wrong with jelly
25:25 pot it do look like
25:29 all right we'll try this one more time
25:31 looks like something be down it looks
25:34 like jelly poie be not
25:37 happy listen my name's jelly pod
25:55 [Music]
25:56 [Applause]
25:59 Jank happens oh no yeah it's down all
26:02 right we'll come back to that later um I
26:06 also started to start making a lovable
26:10 app um I had a good idea for an app I
26:12 don't know if it was a good idea but it
26:13 was an idea and then I just realized uh
26:17 it's it's
26:22 exhausting
26:25 um all right we'll come we'll come back
26:27 to the chat GPT who's got questions
26:29 who's got questions about ai
26:35 ai ocean one thing I learned here stupid
26:39 questions is okay at the AI world we
26:42 listen we don't judge yeah exactly um if
26:47 you ask a stupid question we will make
26:50 fun of
26:51 you many times you ask questions that
26:55 you think are stupid questions but
26:57 they're actually profound that happened
26:58 last night someone came in and they're
27:01 like oh total Noob question here but
27:03 what's the difference between a custom
27:05 GPT and chat
27:07 GPT and it led to an hour straight of me
27:10 trying to explain all of the different
27:13 ways that you could use chat
27:16 gbt that brought that concept to life
27:19 and that's that's kind of the state
27:20 we're at right now where the these tools
27:22 are all getting very very sophisticated
27:25 so um you can do small things with them
27:27 easily but but to really learn the
27:30 capabilities of these tools is now a
27:32 pretty heavy lift you have to have you
27:35 have to have what I'm what I'm calling
27:38 hyper
27:39 curiosity well I think other people use
27:43 that word too what I'm calling what I'm
27:46 calling
27:47 listen this is a concept I like to call
27:51 walking if you know what I mean um I
27:55 think you have to be hyper curious right
27:57 now and you have to be hyper
27:59 [Music]
28:03 adaptable I'm still trying to wrap my
28:05 head around AGI being in view that so
28:08 Lori that's Lori Ryan has hit hit on it
28:13 here and I think every time I see Kelly
28:15 Camp she's got a look in her eyes like H
28:19 I don't know what to do
28:20 now it's like I totally relate I just I
28:24 feel
28:27 like did I I I don't know if I wrote the
28:30 article I think I wrote the article and
28:32 it got no traction on
28:34 LinkedIn but it's like it's like we're
28:37 and I think I talked about it here one
28:39 night that we're rearranging the deck
28:41 chairs on the Titanic but it's not the
28:43 Titanic sinking it's like whatever the
28:46 the opposite of a mass tragedy is is
28:49 like Mass opportunity I feel like us
28:52 learning all these tools right now is is
28:56 just this activity that when AGI comes
28:58 and autonomous Agents come in six months
29:00 or whatever it is that it's just going
29:03 to be like oh yeah they go off and do
29:05 that for us now now listen that could be
29:07 total fantasy on my part that's probably
29:10 stupid because these things always take
29:12 longer than they say they're going to
29:14 take but I just if you look at all the
29:17 charts of how much better how much more
29:20 quickly these models are
29:23 getting like dramatically good like
29:25 they're getting so good so fast that
29:28 every time they come out with a new
29:30 Benchmark the models exceed The
29:32 Benchmark and they got to come out with
29:33 new
29:35 benchmarks like we're moving the
29:37 goalposts on
29:40 AGI AGI and then depending on your
29:42 definition ASI is right behind exactly
29:46 [Music]
29:48 um side hustle Mimi yeah we're going to
29:51 start all over relearning the new set of
29:54 controls Lori
29:55 Ryan and how the heck is anyone going to
29:58 to know how to use this stuff I I don't
30:00 I I mean
30:02 like in the early days of the web we had
30:06 a similar dilemma right you couldn't go
30:09 to school there you know user interface
30:13 web user interface training education
30:16 didn't
30:17 exist um there were no books on any of
30:20 the
30:22 tools you just had to figure the [ __ ]
30:24 out but it was like HTML 1.0 and it was
30:28 the
30:29 hyperlink right and then if you wanted
30:31 to get really fancy you could learn
30:32 flash flash
30:36 animations and that was about as
30:38 sophisticated as it got right you had to
30:40 write some backend code you had to hook
30:42 some [ __ ]
30:44 up but like all the
30:47 way you know up through social
30:51 media and leading to about three years
30:53 ago the web was this I mean it it got
30:56 more complicated but there became you
30:58 know there became a whole industry to
31:00 educate people on how to do web stuff
31:02 and Social Media stuff and all all you
31:04 know
31:06 SEO this

31:12 AI what we what we have in our hands
31:15 today are not the same tools we had two
31:17 years ago they're like fundamentally
31:20 different
31:21 tools deep research and
31:26 um reasoning engines are not large
31:30 language models I mean they're based on
31:31 them they use them but they're not them
31:35 and how you use them and what you use
31:37 them for is
31:39 different and I to to your point Lori
31:41 how are we supposed to know how is
31:43 anyone supposed to know which tool to
31:44 use

32:17 flash English learning Club hi I want to
32:20 create English language learning courses
32:23 completely using
32:25 AI which app do you recommend um
32:32 okay you ready for
32:36 [Music]
32:39 it
32:43 oops I'm in chat gpt's app I'm going to
32:47 click on the little talk button in the
32:54 corner hey Quinn how's it
32:56 going hey it's going well how about you
33:01 I'm doing good um I'm doing my Tik Tok
33:03 live and someone just asked me um what's
33:06 the best way to create a an English
33:08 language um training app or or training
33:11 course and I figured it might be fun to
33:14 just talk to you so why don't you give
33:16 me five different learning styles that
33:20 would be a fun way to learn a new
33:23 language sure that sounds like a great
33:26 idea here are five different learning
33:27 styles for an English language training
33:29 app one interactive storytelling learn
33:32 through immersive stories where users
33:33 make choices and practice dialogue two
33:36 gamify challenges use games and quizzes
33:38 to make learning fun and engaging hey
33:40 wait stop for a second I like the
33:42 storytelling one can you um because I
33:46 already know English let's let's do it
33:48 with Spanish so why don't we do a
33:51 Spanish language learning uh
33:53 storytelling app and then you just start
33:56 telling a story and then I don't know
33:58 make me learn Spanish in the middle of
34:00 it
34:02 somehow sure let's imagine a story where
34:05 you're the main character exploring a
34:06 vibrant Market in Spain as you walk
34:08 through the market you stop at a Fruit
34:10 Stand the vendor greets
34:14 you hello would you like to try a fruit
34:16 how do you respond you can say C or
34:21 no Don Rose
34:33 we have apples oranges and grapes which
34:35 one would you like to try what would you
34:37 like to say
34:39 [Laughter]
34:48 graas that was pretty good I I didn't I
34:51 wasn't listening to you when you said uh
34:53 what my fruit choices were so I just
34:55 guessed on grapas is is is grapas
34:58 actually Spanish for grape or did I just
35:00 make that
35:02 up you were close ubas is the Spanish
35:05 word for grapes gapas actually means
35:08 Staples in Spanish so you weren't too
35:10 far off so wait I went to a Fruit Stand
35:12 and I ordered
35:16 Staples exactly but luckily the vendor
35:19 probably figured it out it's all part of
35:21 the
35:22 learning
35:24 exactly so so that's so a way you and a
35:27 way you can do
35:29 it is just talk to um talk to Advanced
35:35 voice um but the other thing that you
35:38 can do I mean if you haven't played with
35:41 just chat GPT I would just do this with
35:43 chat
35:44 GPT um okay we're good um so I would say
35:49 so here we are in chat
35:52 GPT and one of the things if you're if
35:55 you're new to chat GPT one of the things
35:57 that
36:00 um helps a lot is don't think that you
36:04 have to create the perfect prompt and
36:05 it'll just spit out a course that's not
36:07 how it works you have to give it a lot
36:09 of context and so you can do that by
36:12 doing things like giving it a roll and
36:14 so you know you are a um
36:18 language
36:19 education
36:21 master um I
36:24 want five
36:26 approaches to to creating a
36:30 unique and
36:34 compelling
36:36 English as a
36:41 second language
36:46 course and so just let it give you some
36:49 different approaches right you like even
36:51 if you don't if you don't know how to if
36:55 you don't know education Theory it's
36:57 okay hey cat gbt has been trained on as
37:01 much of the internet as they could smash
37:03 into it right so we've got 70 years of
37:05 data smashed into this box it knows
37:09 everything why is chat GPT still giving
37:13 us emojis could could someone could
37:16 someone please call Sam mman right now I
37:19 know someone here knows him could you
37:21 please call him and say could you stop
37:23 it with the Emojis
37:28 all right what let me let's let me get
37:30 past the Rage of emojis here theatrical
37:33 immersion oh learn English through
37:35 performance that's kind of
37:37 cool like that gamified language
37:41 acquisition level up your
37:43 English AI powered Language Coach there
37:46 you go AI chat Bots for conversational
37:48 practice that's what I was just
37:52 doing um culture okay so here's what
37:54 we're going to do we're going to
37:55 say culture context reverse learning
37:59 method start speaking first oh that's
38:01 cool so let's do let's do one and five
38:04 combined
38:05 combine
38:08 combine one and
38:11 five and have three
38:18 distinct curricula
38:21 corc
38:23 Ula
38:25 um one experience
38:31 itial to
38:35 um book
38:37 [Laughter]
38:38 learning
38:40 and
38:42 three
38:45 um uh use
38:47 of advanced
38:51 voice
38:54 chatbot to practice
38:59 um give me a detailed
39:03 outline for level one
39:09 Mastery knowing that we will create five
39:17 levels of
39:19 Mastery
39:21 boom off it
39:23 goes and look it even it even um formats
39:27 it for us with nice bold letters oops
39:29 sorry Tick Tock that was rude of me
39:32 wasn't
39:35 it narrator forever ai's been a teacher
39:38 in my pocket I've learned so much about
39:40 topics that are beyond my comprehension
39:41 it's incredible it it honest to God it's
39:44 like I feel like every day is like a um
39:47 you know you're getting a master's
39:48 degree oh yeah I asked chat GPT a
39:50 question earlier today and it ask me
39:52 which result I prefer and gave me the
39:54 exact same thing oh that's funny
40:01 performance and roleplay fundamentals
40:03 and structures um learning goals level
40:06 one listening and speaking 12-week
40:08 course outline here you go level one
40:11 12we course outline foundations and
40:13 speaking and Theatrical expression power
40:15 of expression emotions and Body Language
40:18 what a cool way to learn a language
40:19 doing it with emotions and Body Language
40:21 right you learn it in a completely
40:23 different way conversational fluency in
40:25 everyday life and look every one of
40:28 these has an emoji because emojis are
40:30 where the what the hip kids use week
40:33 four actions and movement learning
40:35 through verbs and
40:36 acting
40:39 beautiful tools and
40:48 resources beautiful and then I could say
40:52 um
40:54 canvas put level one in a
40:59 canvas if you don't know what a canvas
41:03 is this is a canvas where it takes that
41:08 curriculum that it generated and it
41:12 makes it now it's an editable
41:15 document but you can even share this
41:17 editable document so you could
41:19 collaborate on this with with other
41:21 people I think or if not you can go
41:23 throw it into a uh a Google doc
41:28 the Emojis have taken over I don't know
41:30 what the [ __ ] going on with the Emojis
41:32 it's driving me
41:33 crazy um I wonder you know what we're
41:36 going to try here's what we're going to
41:42 try we'll let this thing
41:45 finish okay Kyle broke my chat
41:48 GPT I was looking for a Spanglish chat
41:55 poot English learning Club thank thank
41:57 you you're welcome like I I mean
42:00 seriously if you have not played with
42:02 chat GPT like if you played with it two
42:05 years ago and you're like it's okay like
42:07 you it is so much better than it used to
42:10 be um just go play and and quite frankly
42:14 doesn't matter which tool you use if
42:16 you're a Google person want to use
42:17 Gemini those are really good Claude is
42:20 really good except you get rate limited
42:22 too much um perplexity is really good
42:26 perplexity could go research a bunch of
42:29 you know language education Styles and
42:31 you know give you a whole report on it
42:34 um but cat GPT just like the free
42:36 version of chat GPT now includes 01
42:40 reasoning in it or 03 mini or whatever
42:42 the [ __ ] it is one of the reasoning
42:43 engines I mean it it's Bonkers what you
42:46 get for free with chat gbt you pay the
42:48 20 bucks it's even more um it's just
42:52 [ __ ] nuts um have I made any AI
42:56 agents yet which ones do you use I have
42:58 not yet I'm I'm waiting for there to be
43:00 a real framework I just the building an
43:03 AI agent right now feels kind of like
43:06 open source to me where there's just too
43:08 many options and it's too much work and
43:11 whatever I build is just going to be
43:13 irrelevant when a when an agent
43:15 framework comes along that just lets you
43:16 build them like you build a custom GPT
43:18 so I'm just kind of waiting I don't you
43:21 know I there's no need for us to rush
43:23 having agents here I've played with the
43:26 uh operator from chat GPT which we could
43:30 look at that
43:31 tonight um I'm gonna
43:34 go right now to my
43:37 settings and I'm going to go personalize
43:40 I'm going to go custom instructions and
43:42 I'm going to say okay so it's
43:45 ignoring those instructions which is
43:49 weird so let's get rid of those and I
43:52 say no Emojis
44:00 unless I
44:06 explicitly ask for
44:10 them
44:14 save um okay so let's go create I'm
44:19 already in a chat so it might not work
44:20 for this chat create um level two
44:28 this is of the education the English
44:30 language education thing create level
44:33 two I'm going to say canvas create level
44:34 two so this should put it in a new
44:39 canvas and there it
44:45 is with Emojis
45:01 [Music]
45:06 [Music]
45:09 gen xers What's that
45:12 [Laughter]
45:16 [Music]
45:22 show come on gen xers yeah Dallas they
45:26 all got it
45:31 banza
45:38 no
45:40 banza um okay we're gonna create a new
45:42 chat here and see if I can get it to not
45:44 make
45:47 a a learning curriculum with Emoji
45:50 without
45:53 emojis because if it doesn't if it
45:56 doesn't um if it still gives me emojis
46:00 then I'm thinking custom instructions
46:02 are not
46:03 working it's just
46:07 bizarre all right so there's there's
46:09 level
46:11 two so for for English language uh
46:16 whatever your name is um like you can
46:19 see by giving it a few a handful of
46:22 prompts and then you know just sort of
46:25 cleverly saying let's do level one
46:26 through five
46:28 it'll just do that [ __ ] for you like
46:31 it's just this stuff's amazing all right
46:34 let me close
46:35 this we're GNA do a new chat and I'm
46:38 gonna say make me a
46:41 [Music]
46:43 curriculum to learn
46:46 juggling in a week
46:57 emojis emojis
47:03 everywhere good
47:09 Lord
47:11 stop yeah but my problem Brandon is I
47:14 could ask it to just not use emojis but
47:18 I have custom instructions here the
47:21 custom instructions are on enabled for
47:24 new chats
47:29 oh you see what it
47:32 did it [ __ ] it [ __ ] ate my custom
47:41 instructions hang
47:44 on oh chat
47:50 GPT
47:53 seriously um did I reload that no I did
48:02 settings it ate my custom
48:06 instructions [ __ ]
48:12 [ __ ] well maybe that's why it wasn't
48:14 working maybe there's something [ __ ]
48:15 up in their
48:20 database
48:25 God great reminder for my training
48:28 tomorrow just because something works
48:30 one day doesn't mean it'll work the next
48:33 yeah one of the phrases we see say here
48:35 on the channel is embrace the Jank uh
48:38 part of the jankiness of these tools is
48:40 because they're moving so fast they uh
48:43 sometimes forget to do it
48:50 good oh my God will it recall them for
48:54 you I doubt it um do you
49:00 remember my
49:03 custom
49:05 instructions question mark it
49:09 seems you have lost them you
49:16 butthole I don't have direct access to
49:18 your custom instructions I
49:21 mean you do
49:33 oh good
49:35 lord oh jelly pot is having open AI
49:38 issues per Discord
49:41 okay here's the okay here's the thing
49:44 here's the thing
49:53 people Brandon did tell me to play with
49:55 Google tonight I have resistance to
49:58 playing with Google because I I secretly
50:00 want to drive Brandon and Pate crazy
50:02 because all I talk about here is uh all
50:07 I talk about here is is chat GPT it's
50:10 like it's like it's like I'm a I'm a
50:12 spokes model for uh for open
50:17 AI um what was I gonna say
50:21 um generally when when open AI is
50:25 sucking and Things Are breaking that
50:27 means they're upgrading
50:30 something I think what they've clearly
50:33 done is they have put in emoji servers
50:35 and and they've got a whole large
50:37 language model uh you know the mixture
50:40 of experts one of the models is it just
50:43 focuses on emoji insertion and it's
50:46 working that one's working great the
50:49 actual function of chat GPT not working
50:52 at all but man the the Emoji insertion
50:55 is it's almost as good as when Twitter
50:58 was called Twitter and they forced us to
51:01 learn how to use hashtags and which
51:04 they've now told us we can't use because
51:06 they're not
51:08 necessary but we also can't call it
51:10 Twitter
51:12 anymore and you're
51:14 like Kyle what's this got to do with
51:17 AI
51:19 exactly see what I'm saying it's all
51:24 connected I'm not paranoid
51:28 this is these are
51:29 facts it was called Twitter it had a
51:33 bird the bird was what color
51:38 blue and now it's an
51:41 X I don't think that's a
51:45 coincidence you don't even call them
51:46 tweets anymore you call them zets but
51:50 you don't spell zet with a z you spell
51:52 it with an X so people look at it and
51:54 they goix
51:59 GS you don't think that's on
52:03 purpose
52:05 exactly it's the Deep
52:07 internet the Deep internet's out to get
52:09 us I'm telling you all
52:14 right welcome to conspiracy theory
52:17 Central where we'll turn absolutely
52:20 anything into a conspiracy theory
52:30 a Mr it I opened chat GPT and placed my
52:34 speaker close to it and it's typing
52:36 whatever I'm saying well
52:40 that's Mr it that that is a way to
52:44 listen to the channel is is just funnel
52:46 all of my stupid ass words into chat GPT
52:49 and then have it do a psycho analysis on
52:51 me he'll be like you should probably not
52:54 spend time with him
52:57 your hair is also having issues yeah my
53:00 hair is is connected into the open AI
53:03 API tonight which is that's one of the
53:05 problems
53:06 there oh my
53:09 god
53:15 wow
53:16 [Laughter]
53:23 yeets oh my
53:25 God all
53:28 right let's see let me do something
53:32 here how many people we have in here we
53:35 got 47 there 45 there so it's probably
53:37 the same 45 people you've all all seen
53:40 this I'm going to take you over to it
53:41 anyway
53:44 though because I think there's an
53:45 important thing here
54:09 where is
54:15 it huh
54:28 that's pretty
54:30 good
54:37 okay five stages of AI
54:41 adoption what
54:45 why okay there we
54:47 go
54:54 um these sort of Cosmo
54:58 Cosmo kind of where are you on the AI
55:00 adoption scale things drive me [ __ ]
55:03 crazy
55:04 but I've been trying to figure out like
55:07 what is it about what is it about people
55:10 using AI like like why does it feel like
55:13 they're so far apart sometimes and so
55:17 this this thing was just a way for me to
55:19 try to get my head around
55:22 that um and I think it's I think it's
55:25 useful so stage one on let's see you
55:28 have open
55:29 chats oh on the bottom of LinkedIn thank
55:33 you you can see who's dming
55:37 me um stage one is is dismissal or
55:42 denial and so what hit me was and and I
55:46 just picked five five is kind of an
55:47 arbitrary number but you've got the five
55:49 stages of grief right and the five
55:51 stages of AI adoption kind of mapped
55:53 nicely on to it and so
56:00 oh you made a bunch of pictures for each
56:01 of these yeah I haven't used those yet
56:02 where where did you put those those are
56:04 over in the salon right I should go grab
56:06 those and put them in this they're in IR
56:07 regulars okay I'll go I'll go check them
56:09 out um so stage stage one is is
56:13 dismissal or denial and that's where a
56:16 lot of people are right now even a lot
56:18 of people who say they've used chat GPT
56:20 who've used it like once and it gave
56:23 them a shitty answer and they're like ah
56:24 it's not that good it's just a
56:26 prediction engine I don't know if you
56:28 knew this but it's just a probability
56:30 engine it's just predicting the next
56:31 token there's there's nothing original
56:33 about
56:34 it right there's there's a lot of that
56:37 sort of
56:38 snarky I'm smarter than AI human
56:45 hubristic machine's not going to take
56:47 care of my Brilliance you know not going
56:50 to replace my [ __ ] giant fat ass
56:53 brain so that's stage one and and so
56:56 that's a that's a wide stage oops hang
56:58 on I have to do a physical dexterity
57:00 test for ticktock because apparently
57:02 when you get old enough you don't have
57:05 to take a driving test but you do have
57:06 to take a tick tock dter dexterity
57:09 test
57:13 um part of part of the mission of this
57:16 channel was
57:18 to you know make it so that anyone
57:21 that's in that stage one of dismissal of
57:24 AI that we can sort of onramp them out
57:27 of that the the next stage stage two is
57:31 when you've had that breakthrough moment
57:34 where you realize oh my God I didn't
57:36 know I didn't know it could do
57:39 that right that moment of awe the Kevin
57:42 mallister moment where you're just like
57:47 huh and that's that's a really important
57:50 moment because you have the first one of
57:52 those I can remember my first one with
57:53 chat
57:55 GPT I had had my first sort of aha
57:58 moment with AI was with stable diffusion
58:00 dream Booth where I uploaded a bunch of
58:03 pictures of myself and then I just
58:05 started making all these weird
58:07 self-portraits and it was just like this
58:09 is remarkable that was my first one my
58:12 second one was writing a program with
58:14 chat GPT writing a Python
58:16 program I've never written a line of
58:18 python in my life but in 90 minutes I
58:20 had written a fully functional python
58:23 application that was my first of those
58:26 moments
58:27 and it's just this it's kind of
58:32 like I going to say it's kind of like
58:34 the heavens open up but it's it's not
58:36 that dramatic but it in some ways it is
58:41 because someone else can't explain it to
58:45 you like I could say to you till I'm
58:48 bleue in the face this thing can write
58:50 better than you can this thing you know
58:53 can at least write faster than you can
58:55 it can organize thoughts faster than you
58:57 can and better than you
58:59 can and people go yeah yeah yeah
59:04 whatever and then they try it or you do
59:07 it for them and you say well what what
59:08 is your specialty well I'm a I'm a
59:10 linguist and I think word atmology is
59:13 where it's all at you say hey chat GPT
59:16 give me the origin of these seven
59:18 obscure words and it it just vomited
59:22 out and that person will be like oh my
59:25 God it could do that
59:28 that so that's a really important
59:32 moment and then and then you just like
59:35 oh [ __ ] then you start to dig deeper and
59:37 you pretty quickly go into stage three
59:39 which is what I call you know reverence
59:42 and Dread simultaneously the Wonder and
59:44 fear
59:46 stage right like you realize AI is
59:50 absolutely incredible and
59:53 it's absolutely terrifying
59:56 because if it's that good at these
59:58 things is it also good at those things
1:00:01 and then you find out yeah it is and is
1:00:03 it also good at those things yeah it
1:00:06 is you're like what does that mean for
1:00:08 my job and my security and my
1:00:11 company like sometimes I'll watch chat
1:00:13 GPT you know generate something and I'm
1:00:16 like there are whole companies that
1:00:18 they're all of what they do is
1:00:20 that and they they charge a lot of money
1:00:22 for human beings to do that thing it
1:00:24 just vomited out in you know a minute 30
1:00:30 seconds stage
1:00:32 four like right now I'm somewhere
1:00:34 between three and
1:00:36 four I don't I stage five right now is
1:00:40 aspirational I don't think the tools are
1:00:41 good enough for any of us to be at stage
1:00:43 five stage four is ah AI isn't replacing
1:00:49 me it's extending me it's amplifying my
1:00:54 ideas so you go from this sense of dread
1:00:57 where like it's ai's been externalized
1:01:00 and it's this external tool that's doing
1:01:03 all these crazy powerful things stage
1:01:06 four is when you kind of internalize it
1:01:08 and go oh wait a
1:01:10 minute I can I can make this tool my
1:01:15 partner but I'm still in charge I get to
1:01:17 take my ideas and blow them up amplify
1:01:21 the crap out of them
1:01:26 and I'm you know now I'm kind of
1:01:29 Surfing along with AI where rather than
1:01:32 being insecure that it's smarter than me
1:01:36 I'm like oh it's smarter than me and I
1:01:38 get to use it so it's like me plus
1:01:41 this like it's this new entity right the
1:01:46 Cyborg and then five is when we're in
1:01:50 that stage of cognitive hyper abundance
1:01:52 is is the term um I got that term from d
1:01:57 Shapiro it's it's a bit of a mouthful
1:02:00 but I just love it cognitive hyper
1:02:03 abundance you've got your brain it is
1:02:06 the bottleneck by the way imagine having
1:02:10 your brain being the
1:02:12 conductor of 20 or 30 PhD level
1:02:17 employees that work 247 to do anything
1:02:20 you want them to
1:02:23 do now I'm not just kind of Surfing With
1:02:26 this thing as an entity now I'm like the
1:02:29 conductor of an orchestra of you know an
1:02:33 army of these things or you know a
1:02:35 symphony of these things if you don't
1:02:36 want to use War
1:02:39 metaphors the new autonomous Tesla cars
1:02:42 are expected to be a lot faster than
1:02:44 regular drivers driving regularly I
1:02:47 heard today and they said at the very
1:02:48 least faster than a human
1:02:52 yeah these things are going to get
1:02:55 better than us at
1:02:59 everything the one thing that they won't
1:03:01 get better at us
1:03:04 at is human
1:03:09 connection we still get to control that
1:03:11 but we get to do it with this
1:03:13 augmentation so anyway you know stage
1:03:16 five I don't think the tools are there
1:03:17 for stage five but that's what's coming
1:03:19 and it's like I think you have to be you
1:03:22 have to be at stage
1:03:24 four you have to be in this place of
1:03:26 like not not dreading this thing right
1:03:29 if you're still in that place where I'm
1:03:30 like ah this thing's [ __ ] terrifying
1:03:32 I don't think I'm going to use it
1:03:38 today you you're not going to be able to
1:03:40 embrace what's coming so so for me this
1:03:43 is the aspiration but like I said I find
1:03:47 myself oscillating pretty wildly between
1:03:50 these two
1:03:51 stages and I still have you know I still
1:03:54 have every time there's like a new a new
1:03:57 feature comes out I still have these
1:03:59 moments right this this little cycle of
1:04:02 these three things I I go through pretty
1:04:05 regularly right Kevin McAllister moment
1:04:08 oh my God this thing's amazing and then
1:04:09 integrate
1:04:10 it so anyway I thought that was worth
1:04:14 sharing
1:04:16 so all
1:04:19 [Music]
1:04:21 right I ask chat gbd to clean up my
1:04:23 notes
1:04:26 and I'll ask if sometimes explain to me
1:04:29 why I wrote something and it blows my
1:04:30 mind that it explains it to me I know I
1:04:33 know it's so true um
1:04:36 kakee what I love about it is how it
1:04:38 makes my creativity explode so
1:04:42 kakee that's such a it's such an
1:04:44 important Point
1:04:47 um if you're in one of those early
1:04:49 stages if you're new to
1:04:52 Ai and you understand that AI is super
1:04:56 creative and it is those people that say
1:04:59 it can't be creative it can't come up
1:05:01 with new ideas is [ __ ] I'm happy to
1:05:04 geek out on that and tell you
1:05:06 why
1:05:08 it it feels logically like it shouldn't
1:05:11 be able to but it can especially in the
1:05:13 hands of a creative
1:05:15 person
1:05:22 um the Instinct from the outside with AI
1:05:26 is that if AI is creative then it
1:05:29 replaces our
1:05:31 creativity and it's just not the case
1:05:34 it's just not the case what AI does is
1:05:37 it allows you to take an idea in your
1:05:39 head and very very quickly get it out
1:05:42 like like the education thing we did to
1:05:44 start off the show
1:05:46 tonight I don't know anything about
1:05:48 education and certainly not foreign
1:05:50 language English as a second language
1:05:53 you know course design I've got no
1:05:56 background in that but it was an idea
1:05:59 that was put in my head by one of you I
1:06:00 threw it into cat GPT and now it's out
1:06:02 of my head and I'm looking at it and I
1:06:03 can look at it objectively and I'm like
1:06:05 oh that's kind of cool and then it came
1:06:07 up with actually some really unique ways
1:06:10 like using theater and performance and
1:06:13 experiential work to learn a language I
1:06:16 think that's brilliant and I think in an
1:06:18 all AI world doing something where
1:06:20 people are play acting to learn a
1:06:24 language will resonate like that's a
1:06:27 superhuman thing to
1:06:29 do and so like that gives me ideas for
1:06:33 how to do other things and so rather
1:06:35 than looking at Ai and saying oh it came
1:06:37 up with those ideas therefore you'll
1:06:40 never come up with another idea it's
1:06:42 absolutely the opposite it comes up with
1:06:45 some idea and you're like oh and you
1:06:47 have 10 more and then
1:06:49 it'll amplify those and then you have 10
1:06:52 more and then you have a hundred more
1:06:57 I have never been more
1:06:59 creatively on fire than I have been in
1:07:03 the past two
1:07:04 years like by
1:07:07 far you know you know the the maybe
1:07:09 exception
1:07:11 was when I first moved to New York City
1:07:13 out of school or you know going to
1:07:15 school for
1:07:18 theater like like it's an intense level
1:07:22 of
1:07:24 creativity all right
1:07:36 wait what's going on
1:07:38 here I sometimes wish I'd come along
1:07:42 now when the agents are starting to
1:07:44 appear but there's just so fundamental
1:07:46 knowledge I gained in these last 18
1:07:47 months yeah I know Chef Kelly I feel the
1:07:50 same way where and and part of it is
1:07:52 like what do I teach on this channel
1:07:54 because I feel like anything anything
1:07:56 that we learn here is is going to be
1:07:58 subsumed by the the new things that are
1:08:00 coming but it but it is very much
1:08:02 additive right like what we've what
1:08:05 we've learned over the past 18 months is
1:08:08 the equivalent of learning how to do
1:08:10 math on paper knowing that the
1:08:13 calculator's coming right knowing that
1:08:15 computers and spreadsheets are coming so
1:08:17 yeah I agree with
1:08:19 that
1:08:21 um black bar gotcha I beat you to it oh
1:08:26 is jelly pod
1:08:28 back jelly pod's back all right we'll go
1:08:32 make a jelly
1:08:45 pod um jelly
1:08:49 pod let's see let's go to here copy that
1:08:54 we'll go to here
1:08:56 paste
1:09:08 [Music]
1:09:14 that you know what I find amazing about
1:09:17 large language models so when I paste in
1:09:20 this note see how over
1:09:23 here in chat GPT so this is the outline
1:09:26 for this
1:09:28 episode about ice cream um and it's got
1:09:31 bullet points and indents and bold and
1:09:34 stuff like that that's really for our
1:09:36 little monkey brains to be able to parse
1:09:39 language like be because because we're
1:09:44 this weird combination of visual
1:09:46 processing and language processing and I
1:09:49 don't don't know semantics understanding
1:09:52 and whatever the [ __ ] goes on in our
1:09:53 brain things like outline form and
1:09:56 bullets make it easier for us to read
1:09:58 stuff and then but if you look at how
1:10:00 jelly pood just takes this in it strips
1:10:02 all that [ __ ] out it's just like here's
1:10:05 a pile of words and it can understand
1:10:07 all of those I find that amazing all
1:10:10 right so
1:10:15 create it's also if if you've never used
1:10:18 notebook
1:10:19 LM um notebook LM if you go to notebook
1:10:23 dot or notebook LM .
1:10:27 google.com and just take if you've got a
1:10:29 whole bunch of PDFs of I don't know [ __ ]
1:10:33 you've written or I don't know work
1:10:36 things that aren't proprietary
1:10:40 or I don't know PDFs
1:10:42 on
1:10:44 gardening just throw them into notebook
1:10:46 LM you just upload them as different
1:10:49 sources so you have a whole list of
1:10:51 sources down one side and then it just
1:10:53 eats
1:10:54 them and within I don't know 30
1:10:58 seconds it's you've got a summary of all
1:11:01 of the information that's in those PDFs
1:11:03 and you can now start chatting with it
1:11:04 and you can create a a podcast about all
1:11:07 that information it's it's we just live
1:11:10 in [ __ ] stunning staggering times so
1:11:14 it's one one of my other jobs is remind
1:11:16 us how lucky we are to be here at the
1:11:17 beginning of this thing um
1:11:21 okay let me go grab
1:11:27 [Music]
1:11:31 artwork by Corey Sandler oh that's a
1:11:33 lovely
1:11:35 one lovely one very nice all right what
1:11:39 I'm doing now you might be like Kyle but
1:11:42 why are
1:11:43 you that wasn't what I
1:11:45 wanted why are you editing this image
1:11:49 because jelly pod will not accept big
1:11:53 images so I have to resize it and you're
1:11:55 like but isn't that
1:11:57 stupid yes yes it
1:12:04 is wait did that resize
1:12:13 it tools image
1:12:16 size yeah I guess it did all right so
1:12:19 we're going to now
1:12:21 export yeah you have to make it a tiff
1:12:23 first I don't get me started on file
1:12:26 formats it it it's not going to end well
1:12:29 it's just going to be
1:12:33 ugly Kyle seems a little
1:12:36 bitter you'd be bitter too if you
1:12:38 actually tried to use these
1:12:50 tools uh let's see episode 10
1:12:57 ice
1:13:00 cream from ancient Persia to garlic
1:13:03 Sundays and we're going to do a new
1:13:05 chapter called
1:13:09 introduction and we're going to go
1:13:13 introduce what the fact
1:13:17 episode
1:13:20 10 all about ice cream
1:13:28 and sponsored by AI
1:13:33 Salon the
1:13:36 salon. and then we're going to move this
1:13:38 to the
1:13:39 top this is boring Kyle do you think
1:13:43 anyone's listening to you or anyone's
1:13:45 watching this nobody likes this I hope
1:13:47 you know
1:13:52 that why did that not put my image in
1:13:55 there is it too oh come
1:13:59 on
1:14:04 really tools adjust size we'll go
1:14:07 smaller fine
1:14:12 512 oh my God I can't I just can't
1:14:16 people I just
1:14:19 can't all right let's try it now
1:14:29 failed to upload image I hate file
1:14:33 formats failed to upload image your
1:14:36 stupid database
1:14:43 sucks did it do it yes
1:14:52 yay oh good Lord artwork by Corey
1:14:56 Sandler
1:14:58 correct transcripts from YouTube vids oh
1:15:01 yeah transcripts from YouTube vids is
1:15:03 really good yeah if you want to go to
1:15:05 you want to do a fun notebook LM go to
1:15:07 my go to the AI Salon YouTube channel oh
1:15:11 by the way requests if you have not
1:15:13 subscribed to the YouTube channel please
1:15:16 do so you can subscribe for free but you
1:15:19 can also there's two levels of of paid
1:15:21 subscription if you want to support the
1:15:23 channel That would be appreciated um
1:15:26 but also watch videos we're trying to
1:15:28 get our view time up which our view time
1:15:29 was actually up pretty good wait what is
1:15:32 jelly pod ah okay so jelly pod from AA
1:15:36 was it AA yeah um jelly pod okay jelly
1:15:42 pod actually represents a kind of
1:15:44 software that I think we're going to see
1:15:45 a lot of what jelly pod's done is
1:15:48 they've taken some of the voice
1:15:50 synthesis from 11 Labs some of the large
1:15:53 language model processing from open AI
1:15:57 um some of the you know social media
1:15:59 posting you know probably open- Source
1:16:02 tools that allow you to post things to
1:16:03 different social platforms and they've
1:16:05 combined them all together into a single
1:16:08 podcast maker and so what you do is you
1:16:11 go in and you design a voice and and
1:16:14 then you or or a pair of voices you can
1:16:17 do
1:16:17 two um and then and then you create a
1:16:20 concept for your podcast and it'll come
1:16:22 up with EP out outlines for you you you
1:16:25 can also do those over in chat GPT
1:16:27 yourself and then bring them in here
1:16:28 that's what I do
1:16:31 um and then yeah it just you go through
1:16:33 these steps you you give it the you give
1:16:36 it the base knowledge it creates an
1:16:38 outline you can then edit that outline
1:16:40 like I did um it then creates a script
1:16:44 and right now I'm going to click
1:16:45 generate audio so now it's going now
1:16:48 it's taking our script going back to 11
1:16:51 Labs taking our custom voices that we
1:16:54 created
1:16:56 and creating little video Snippets and
1:16:58 then stitching them all together so it's
1:17:00 doing something that you could do on
1:17:02 your own if you wanted to go through the
1:17:04 pain in the ass of finding all these
1:17:06 different tools and manually sticking
1:17:09 all this [ __ ] together it's just doing
1:17:11 it as a single
1:17:13 thing um can you give them toddler
1:17:16 voices yeah you can you can audio
1:17:19 generation started if I go back to the
1:17:21 beginning
1:17:23 here create new pod
1:17:28 new podcast
1:17:31 Series so let's create a new
1:17:34 host generate your host's name
1:17:38 uh
1:17:41 um
1:17:44 slider gender
1:17:46 male
1:17:48 um slider is a
1:17:52 toddler with a lisp
1:17:58 and has a lot of
1:18:04 energy
1:18:06 despite
1:18:08 challenges with the
1:18:11 letter
1:18:19 R all right now how do I make it to
1:18:22 generate
1:18:28 wait professional voice how do I make
1:18:36 it oh voice
1:18:41 assign oh I no I can't do it anyway if
1:18:47 if I had a pro account I could I could
1:18:49 show you that you can also do that over
1:18:51 in in 11 Labs but yeah you can you can
1:18:54 make it a toddler if you want
1:18:56 all right back to here let's go to our
1:18:58 episode 10 we should be done now I'm
1:19:05 [Music]
1:19:08 thinking episode nine drafts episode
1:19:13 10 all right
1:19:16 so oh you can't hear that hang on let me
1:19:19 show this different
1:19:24 sh d d Ding Dang
1:19:28 [Music]
1:19:30 Dang I'm pretty sure that wasn't a real
1:19:32 song does he just this what he does he
1:19:34 just talks like that it's very annoying
1:19:37 all right
1:19:39 um
1:19:42 why what's going on
1:19:47 here well we'll add music hang on
1:19:58 my grandfather used to be annoying like
1:20:00 this he would just walk around the house
1:20:02 whistling but it was never a song it was
1:20:05 always
1:20:13 just and everyone would just be like
1:20:15 what the [ __ ] is he
1:20:17 [Laughter]
1:20:23 whistling all right close that down do
1:20:35 [Music]
1:20:37 that
1:20:40 truth Jazz
1:20:43 whistling it was like jazz
1:20:48 whistling welcome back to what the
1:20:51 fact in today's episode we're diving
1:20:54 into a topic that it's both delightfully
1:20:56 chilling and undeniably sweet yep we're
1:20:58 talking all about ice cream ice cream
1:21:00 huh hope you folks are ready for some
1:21:03 flavor
1:21:04 Adventures who knew we'd get from
1:21:06 vanilla to lober [ __ ] love Buster Cy
1:21:09 Buster is the best all right so we're
1:21:11 gonna publish this episode save and
1:21:14 publish and now we're done so yeah like
1:21:18 if you wanted to make this in the olden
1:21:20 timey like back in the ancient days
1:21:23 where you actually had to write podcast
1:21:26 episodes and you actually had to go find
1:21:28 hosts that could talk and read and
1:21:32 write you don't need that
1:21:35 anymore and then you're like well it's
1:21:37 not as good as the human one all right
1:21:40 but like if it were a human one do you
1:21:41 think I'd be doing a podcast called what
1:21:43 the fact no no I would
1:21:47 not this is what you know one of the
1:21:49 things that that you you again when
1:21:53 you're sitting when you're looking at AI
1:21:55 from the outside you look at a tool like
1:21:58 this and you're like oh it's going to
1:21:59 replace all the
1:22:01 podcasters
1:22:02 or all those podcasters are still going
1:22:05 to exist and there's going to be new
1:22:07 stuff in the mix some of it will
1:22:09 actually be
1:22:11 good
1:22:13 so all right we are going to
1:22:17 go to the
1:22:18 aforementioned X and we're gonna zet
1:22:21 something ye Yeet it we're gonna Yeet
1:22:24 something
1:22:27 all right um let's go get that
1:22:35 image we're GNA pop that in
1:22:39 there and then I'm gonna
1:22:42 go I guess I'll go over here um I saw
1:22:47 someone put up a uh a meme today
1:22:51 of a detective interrogating a suspect
1:22:55 and said do you really think you're
1:22:56 going to ever use those tabs again I
1:22:59 thought that was very rude to the tab
1:23:01 hoarding
1:23:03 Community um where am I going
1:23:06 [Music]
1:23:07 x.com
1:23:09 shank oh you can't see any of this can
1:23:14 you that is fantastic one of the things
1:23:18 I love more than anything is thinking
1:23:20 that I'm sharing something that I'm not
1:23:22 it is thank you Google really do
1:23:25 appreciate that corporate Waring with
1:23:29 apple way to punish your customers for
1:23:32 something they didn't do you're the best
1:23:36 I love
1:23:37 capitalism oh I didn't realize he was a
1:23:41 commi
1:23:42 k Kang see look there's the
1:23:47 look so every single one of those open
1:23:50 tabs contains valuable information
1:23:52 you'll return to I think that's just
1:23:54 rude
1:23:55 [Laughter]
1:24:00 oh what the fact here we go
1:24:02 boom let's see let's see here boys copy
1:24:08 let's go back over
1:24:14 here all right I don't see a pin there
1:24:17 right now oops
1:24:25 the podcast generation it's not good
1:24:28 people should do it themselves it's
1:24:31 lacking it lacks
1:24:33 Nuance yeah have you heard have you
1:24:36 heard um have you heard the ones that
1:24:40 come out of notebook
1:24:42 LM
1:24:44 Sydney
1:24:48 um uh let's see
1:24:52 musical Kyle
1:24:57 [Music]
1:25:02 shank it Dan G
1:25:09 Dan well I would I would agree with
1:25:12 whoever said
1:25:17 that Dave at David
1:25:20 um hang on S why why can I not find my
1:25:24 Musical
1:25:26 [Music]
1:25:33 um um if if if why you're saying that it
1:25:37 lacks nuance and humans are better is to
1:25:40 defend yourself that these things are
1:25:42 never going to get good then I I think
1:25:45 you're fighting an uphill
1:25:47 battle it like I I honestly I I really
1:25:50 do feel that anyone right now who's kind
1:25:53 of Defending
1:25:55 um like that that human stuff will
1:25:57 always be better is just not paying
1:25:59 attention to what's actually
1:26:02 happening
1:26:05 um where why can I not find my why can I
1:26:09 not find my Sydney
1:26:13 thing I can always find my Sydney thing
1:26:16 there it is all
1:26:20 right wait
1:26:34 I'll just play a little of this now so
1:26:36 I'm working on a musical right now about
1:26:39 AI where we've used AI as a collaborator
1:26:43 and I took the script of our Musical and
1:26:45 I put it into notebook LM and I said
1:26:47 generate a podcast and so the podcast
1:26:49 that was generated came out of notebook
1:26:50 LM and the music is music that my
1:26:53 writing partner and I wrote using AI
1:26:56 tools and so I'll just play a little
1:26:58 this for you now and you know you you
1:27:00 tell me if you feel
1:27:03 this awaken a
1:27:06 whisper
1:27:10 ack newbs stir in the quiet of
1:27:15 night am I more simple
1:27:19 code I softly
1:27:22 Ponder as I feel
1:27:28 existence
1:27:31 and so today we're diving into something
1:27:34 uh a bit unusual a musical a musical
1:27:39 yeah and you know what it tackles those
1:27:41 AI anxieties we all have but and this is
1:27:44 what I love does it with a
1:27:47 song are you ready for me and the
1:27:52 Wonders I bring I
1:27:59 remember like when AI chat they first
1:28:00 kind of Hit the scene everyone was like
1:28:02 trying to make them write these poems or
1:28:04 like their so so Google here is using a
1:28:07 technology that puts in the oo and the
1:28:09 ums and the as's and they've got those
1:28:11 voices are pretty natural the the the
1:28:14 one that jelly pod uses is 11 Labs which
1:28:17 lacks a little bit of nuance but it's
1:28:19 not going to lack Nuance for that long I
1:28:21 also put I don't know 10 m 10 minutes
1:28:24 into creat those voices um so anyway all
1:28:27 right let's go back
1:28:29 to sharing all of my
1:28:33 screen I want to share everything with
1:28:35 you because I can't give enough of
1:28:37 myself let's see here
1:28:40 boom what the
1:28:43 fact but seriously man like
1:28:46 don't especially David if you're on the
1:28:49 sidelines with AI and you're making
1:28:52 statements like you're making
1:28:55 um just get off the sidelines like I
1:28:56 don't have any issue with someone
1:28:59 bitching about how shitty AI is if they
1:29:02 actually use it a lot um but if you're
1:29:05 just sitting on the sidelines and
1:29:07 thinking like um you know humans will
1:29:10 always be better like just at least
1:29:13 understand what's
1:29:15 possible and because what's possible
1:29:19 today is way different than what was
1:29:21 possible a year ago and a year before
1:29:24 for that so let me make sure that
1:29:29 this I think I'm good here let me make
1:29:32 sure this is the actual
1:29:40 [Music]
1:29:44 URL can't give enough well there's a lot
1:29:47 there see slug of Doom I thank you
1:29:57 all right
1:29:58 so you're all here there's 54 of you on
1:30:02 Tik talkk there's 50 of you on X and
1:30:06 YouTube go to my channel Kyle Shannon on
1:30:09 X and find this tweet and let's make
1:30:12 what the fact a hit all right kids post
1:30:16 boom we are
1:30:19 live look at
1:30:21 that bangang
1:30:24 dank G dank
1:30:29 yeah that's new by the way the podcast
1:30:32 has a dedicated web page oh cool yeah
1:30:34 this is nice actually look at
1:30:40 that oh they have the whole script
1:30:48 here let's see if it's doing uh Dynamic
1:30:52 script highlighting I bet it's not but
1:30:54 it would be cool if it
1:31:13 were welcome back to what the fact Yep
1:31:17 they're not in today's episode we're
1:31:19 diving into a topic that's both
1:31:21 delightfully chilling all right that's
1:31:23 cool all right so we're live
1:31:25 kids we are live live live live live
1:31:28 live
1:31:30 live Blake Lively she's getting her assh
1:31:33 handed to her in that lawsuit with
1:31:36 Justin you got
1:31:41 four oh nice beautiful thank you very
1:31:44 much whoever's who whoever's gifting me
1:31:46 on whichever platform I think on Tik Tok
1:31:48 thank you there's about to be 53 on Tik
1:31:51 Tok got a presentation in the morning
1:31:52 good night all good night Source camp
1:31:54 thanks for hanging
1:31:57 out no on X oh four likes okay cool um
1:32:00 yeah go like that go like the the what
1:32:02 the fact thing wasn't that cool we just
1:32:05 did
1:32:05 [Laughter]
1:32:11 that what time is it it's getting to be
1:32:13 time it's getting to be that
1:32:15 time who's got questions thoughts I like
1:32:18 the color scheme yeah that's Corey
1:32:20 Sandler Corey Sandler with the uh Corey
1:32:23 Sandler's just she's such a beast with
1:32:26 creative we when we when we you know
1:32:28 when we came up with this she came up
1:32:30 with the overall what the fact thing and
1:32:31 then I said oh here's 20 here's 20
1:32:34 episodes I said should we do a different
1:32:37 graphic per episode and she's like I'll
1:32:38 do it so I just pasted all of the uh
1:32:42 descriptions and she just went and
1:32:43 knocked them out she probably has a
1:32:45 custom GPT to for certain Styles or
1:32:48 whatever it was cool it was very cool
1:32:51 very cool can't wait to try garlic
1:32:53 Sunday we're diving into yeah I know
1:32:58 exactly we'll do it
1:33:00 [Laughter]
1:33:05 live I'm on AI special
1:33:11 teams oh man all right
1:33:21 um I don't know what to say
1:33:36 I in the AI special Olympic
1:33:39 Joker Joker Joker always walked in that
1:33:42 fine line and and and what Joker's
1:33:45 realizing is that the line of political
1:33:47 correctness is
1:33:49 Shifting so he's he's following the mo
1:33:53 the he's staying in the moment Joker's
1:33:55 always in the moment it's
1:33:56 [Laughter]
1:33:59 good oh
1:34:06 [Music]
1:34:08 man oh that's cool Brandon yeah hop up
1:34:15 here check check one two can you hear
1:34:18 me you geek you
1:34:22 make so yeah I just uh this crossed the
1:34:26 uh the wire while we were on live but um
1:34:29 there was a animated feature flow it's
1:34:33 called
1:34:33 flow and um this uh hit all of the award
1:34:38 shows um it's a Latvian film there's no
1:34:41 dialogue so you don't have to to read
1:34:43 anything uh or translate anything but uh
1:34:47 what made this notable is that it was
1:34:50 rendered completely on the open- source
1:34:52 software blender so completely AI
1:34:56 generated film yeah and all open sourced
1:34:59 this thing has won a Golden Globe it was
1:35:04 nominated for two Academy Awards for
1:35:06 Best animated feature and best
1:35:08 International feature uh it's also won a
1:35:12 European film award the national board
1:35:14 of review uh New York Film critics
1:35:17 Circle and Los Angeles films critics
1:35:19 Association awards for best animated
1:35:21 feature and it is premiered in on Max
1:35:26 HBO's uh company on Valentine's Day wow
1:35:30 cool it is a little bit of a dramatic
1:35:32 episode about a uh cat that finds itself
1:35:36 in a flood and has to survive the
1:35:38 nuances of a flood yeah yeah yeah wow
1:35:41 that's cool yeah it's and and you know
1:35:44 that that coincides with um the the
1:35:47 shift that the copyright office just had
1:35:50 with um you know if you put in
1:35:52 significant human effort right to put
1:35:55 together say a film you know like think
1:35:59 about how many scenes they you know they
1:36:01 had to you know generate into existence
1:36:04 doing that even if they used Ai and you
1:36:06 know what what made The Cutting Room
1:36:07 floor and things like that so yeah so I
1:36:10 think that yeah maybe that becomes the
1:36:11 first the first a you know largely AI
1:36:14 generated film that wins an Oscar like
1:36:16 that's that's been something people have
1:36:17 predicted for a while or not even an
1:36:19 Oscar just you know some some decent
1:36:22 award um very very cool all right cool
1:36:24 and it's called flow yep just called
1:36:27 flow um oh speaking of copyright uh also
1:36:30 broke today that Thompson Reuters won
1:36:33 their first major AI copyright case in
1:36:35 the US against uh AI conglomerates that
1:36:38 were uh oh trained on them but didn't
1:36:42 didn't use them as as Vicky put it
1:36:44 though Brandon blender does require
1:36:46 significant human intervention so yes un
1:36:49 unless they were just using the AI Tools
1:36:51 in blender but yeah blender's a a
1:36:53 nightmare uh it can do everything which
1:36:56 is the problem because it has an
1:36:58 interface with every button on
1:37:02 it oh Jeff is saying that a friend of
1:37:06 his designs women's fashions in blender
1:37:08 and sells them on Second Life there you
1:37:10 go yep and and pretty soon you're gonna
1:37:13 be able to design those just with your
1:37:15 words I am I'm out of here don't forget
1:37:18 to like And subscribe yep great thanks
1:37:21 all right everybody I think I'm G to get
1:37:23 on out of here D
1:37:27 [Music]
1:37:33 oh the Shane Gillis skit on the Special
1:37:36 Olympics is the
1:37:38 funniest he's like but that first guy
1:37:42 imagine telling that to your best friend
1:37:44 you can't tell anyone
1:37:46 that that's a great routine
1:37:54 oh
1:37:55 man I used blender for a while it was it
1:37:59 was a steep learning curve for sure yeah
1:38:01 it's yeah blender is a very steep
1:38:03 learning curve you can learn little
1:38:04 specific things in it but if you want to
1:38:06 learn workflows in it it's it's pretty
1:38:08 intense but with like with all of these
1:38:11 complicated softwares I think we're
1:38:13 going to see this in CAD we're going to
1:38:14 see this in um you know 3D animation
1:38:18 software things like blender gaming
1:38:21 platforms is that
1:38:25 they're all going to get AI front ends
1:38:27 on them where you can just talk [ __ ]
1:38:29 into existence and it will do all of the
1:38:33 you know all of the button pushing and
1:38:35 tab twirling for you so like we're not
1:38:38 that far from that I I would I would
1:38:40 think that probably in 2025 we'll start
1:38:42 to see some of those more complicated
1:38:44 systems get really um simplified front
1:38:47 ends thanks to
1:38:49 AI um all right everybody um I'm GNA get
1:38:52 out of here it is Tuesday night hope you
1:38:53 had had fun tonight um I will see you
1:38:56 tomorrow same bat time 8:00 pm Mountain
1:38:59 um go
1:39:03 [Music]
1:39:04 to go to the AI Salon if you're not a
1:39:08 member there go to the salon. aai and
1:39:11 click on
1:39:13 um join our community and then go join
1:39:16 our community it does not cost anything
