17:14 you know we probably got like 50 or 60
17:17 from in here so we have a pretty good
17:20 chunk of the the
17:22 20,000 um but a lot of them are
17:25 filmmakers so they're getting feedback
17:26 from filmmakers which is good so that's
17:29 going to to help them get better
17:31 fast um and then they're going to tap
17:34 into all this new technology when Sora
17:37 comes out and it it was interesting one
17:39 of the things that he talked about was
17:44 um they have prioritized speed over
17:49 quality so when you do your little
17:51 renders you know when you make your
17:53 little scenes in LTX and it makes all
17:55 the images really quickly he said listen
17:58 we could you know crank the quality up
18:01 on those but it would take you know 5
18:03 minutes to to make any changes and so so
18:08 they're sort of doing this Balancing Act
18:10 between janky and good and
18:13 speed
18:17 um
18:19 so I could imagine that manifesting in
18:22 the product as as different modes
18:24 there's sort of ideation mode and then
18:27 there's sketch mode and then there's
18:29 production mode and in production mode
18:32 everything's you know pinned and it
18:35 probably will cost a lot of money and
18:37 then in you know instant mode
18:42 right it'll all be quick but it'll be
18:44 cheaper free all right pabs came out
18:48 with some updates uh also there's a
18:51 Chinese the a new Chinese Sora
18:54 competitor came out today that if you
18:56 have a Chinese phone number you can
18:58 actually get it
18:59 uh I don't know any AI that can help
19:02 students make a research poster for a
19:06 conference tried canva and me
19:10 me
19:22 um yeah I don't
19:27 know I mean you could go to to dolly or
19:30 ideogram or mid
19:32 journey
19:36 and have them come up with the basic
19:39 artwork and then do the typography and
19:41 like
19:43 Photoshop I would yeah maybe mid Journey
19:46 come up with the main image in mid
19:48 journey and then go into Photoshop or
19:50 illustrator and just assemble it all
19:53 there that's probably how I'd make a
19:54 poster right now we're not we're not
19:55 quite at the point you can do you can do
19:59 just jam out a
20:02 poster I mean I would say go to canva
20:05 for inspiration if you find designs you
20:07 like there but then just generate the
20:09 image in mid Journey upscale it in one
20:11 of the ups scalers and then add
20:12 typography
20:15 and don't
20:18 don't feel like you have to use AI for
20:22 everything understand the tools
20:24 understand the limitations and don't you
20:27 know if you spend 4 hours trying to get
20:28 it right in Ai and you could have spent
20:30 an hour and a half getting it right in
20:32 Photoshop do it in [ __ ] Photoshop if
20:35 the udio guy is there tell him that the
20:38 voice over does not work on their
20:40 platform okay I
20:45 will um it worked for me last time I
20:49 used it but they just did a big update
20:50 so maybe they broke it that happens you
20:54 know you add some new features
20:56 and yes King it's decision over
20:59 overwhelm on what we do tonight lunar

21:03 there's so much stuff to do and like
21:04 every you know what's funny about about
21:07 as the tools get more
21:10 sophisticated it takes a longer time to

22:38 many you know what you know what it is
22:40 now is because the tools are sort of
22:42 getting in parody with one
22:44 another
22:46 um the difference the differences
22:49 between them are really
22:51 subtle and if there's
22:54 like five large language models that you
22:57 could use that all have slightly
22:59 different advantages here and there it's
23:02 just it's a lot it's a lot to keep in
23:03 your head and keep track of and you just

25:41 like-minded people who are up to similar

25:52 those brave enough to face the
25:53 terrifying uncertainty and exciting

26:02 another to step into the unknown

40:06 this idea because I'm starting to see
40:08 these
40:11 ideas show up in in places all at the
40:16 same time and not because anyone's
40:18 copying each other this I I we used to
40:21 experience this a lot at agency.com in
40:23 the early days of the worldwide
40:26 web when you you get tuned
40:29 into this is this gets a little like

41:15 Street and they gave us a uh they gave
41:17 us a conference room that could sit 300
41:19 people um and it's gotten way bigger
41:22 since then obviously but but those early
41:25 days 94 9596 six we had this running
41:30 internal joke that if you had an
41:34 idea we we used to say don't say it out
41:37 loud because if you do you'll see it 3
41:40 weeks from now because it happened all
41:43 the time someone would say oh I've got
41:45 this idea and they would articulate it
41:47 and then three weeks later it would show
41:49 up and so I think when when so many
41:53 people are focused on a single thing and
41:55 they're all sort of putting their
41:57 attention to it a lot of the
42:00 same things start to
42:03 emerge and this to me feels very much
42:06 like a core fundamental truth so if you
42:09 want to get AI literate and and if you
42:11 want to be in a group of people that are
42:13 doing it in a in
42:16 a in a simple powerful way this is it
42:21 you don't need to join the salon to do
42:22 this but like take these and really
42:25 internalize them and what's interesting
42:27 about this
42:28 is I think of these three stages of this
42:32 journey as a
42:35 fractal so I could see this being like a
42:39 three or four or five year Journey where
42:43 you sort of playing and then you're
42:44 building and then you're leading but it
42:47 it's just rolling for 5 years but then
42:49 underneath it there can be small little
42:53 versions of this and I could see you
42:55 going through little versions of this
42:56 for every tool
42:58 or for every use case or one for your
43:01 family life one for business and you
43:03 just basically keep rolling through this
43:06 just play start out with play play play
43:08 play get inspired don't put any pressure
43:11 on yourself and then once you have your
43:13 head around it then start to say okay
43:15 what can I do with it how can I solve
43:17 some problems and then share it share it

45:16 frothy
45:17 until mid 97
45:21 98 now I think AI is moving faster so I
45:24 don't think it's going to be three or
45:25 four years until it's overhyped and over
45:29 froy but I think I think it's probably
45:32 going to be a year and a half two
45:36 years right now the Ethan mullik just he
45:40 about week and a half two weeks ago put
45:42 out a a uh
45:46 study 47% of Americans have not even
45:51 heard of chat
45:53 GPT
45:56 47% haven't even heard of it another 20%
46:00 on top of that had never used
46:03 it another 7% on top of that had used it
46:07 once or like once or
46:09 twice so that's
46:14 77% have essentially never used it or
46:17 never heard of it
46:20 77% then in that
46:24 33% the people that use used it
46:27 regularly I think it was
46:31 seven or maybe it was 12 I don't know it
46:34 was some small
46:36 number so what do you think about AI
46:38 future and how it will affect

47:20 think we're going to have to confront

47:28 the printing press revolutionized things

47:32 know it didn't get to 100 million users
47:34 in six weeks like chat GPT

47:42 took six years to get to 100 million
47:46 users chat GPT showed up you know just
47:50 it it's sort of sitting on top of 50
47:52 years of machine learning and neural
47:55 network development and artificial

48:04 the infrastructure cloud computing
48:06 high-speed internet is all just sitting
48:11 there right the worldwide web all that
48:13 [ __ ] had to be built none of it existed
48:15 our computers had to call up other
48:17 computers and say hey bud you mind
48:20 letting me in
48:32 um okay what do I think about how AI is
48:37 going to affect
48:39 us I I'm taking the contrarian
48:51 View and I can't believe it's a
48:53 contrarian view but it is I'm taking the
48:56 contrarian View

49:04 decide how we use these
49:08 things I think it's up to us I don't
49:12 think it's the robots are going to kill
49:13 us the robots are going
49:15 to how can we make use of being early
49:18 adapter as a good outcome

50:30 tweet that inspired this that said AI is
50:34 the collective intelligence of
50:36 humanity and all of a sudden it just hit
50:39 me like right between the eyes that's
50:41 what I've been trying to explain for
50:42 like n
50:44 months is that when I first started
50:47 using AI I was thinking of it like a
50:50 system even
50:52 though one of the very first thoughts I
50:55 had when I started playing with chat GPT
50:57 is the Turing test is
50:59 dead which the Turing test if you don't
51:01 know is is the test created by Alan
51:04 Turing in the ' 50s that basically said
51:06 we will have artificial intelligence
51:08 when we can interact with a computer and
51:11 not know if there's a human on the other
51:12 side of the screen or not and so the
51:15 first time I used chat GPT that's that's
51:18 where I went my son is very tech savvy
51:20 44 years old and has never used it he's
51:23 a bit dis dismissive about it yep
51:25 exactly I there's a there's a weirdness
51:28 going on with the if ever there was a
51:33 [ __ ] you technology if ever there was a
51:36 [ __ ] you technology AI it the younger
51:40 generation should be pouncing on this
51:43 [ __ ] to try to [ __ ] stuff up [ __ ] up how
51:46 work's done [ __ ] everything out and they
51:48 don't seem to care the Gen
51:53 xers are kicking ass with this stuff I
51:55 think cu the Gen xers can appreciate
51:58 having been through the web stuff and
52:00 been through PC you know PCS showing up
52:04 you know we had much of our Lives we
52:06 didn't have personal computers thank you
52:08 Lord digital
52:12 Gods so I think we can appreciate it but
52:14 we've also got a bit of a you know sort
52:17 of a [ __ ] you
52:19 attitude so anyway I think gen xers are
52:22 going to just are are kicking ass right
52:25 now
52:31 um
52:34 okay so a couple of things about the AI
52:37 future I think it is absolutely
52:40 inevitable and it's not going away it's
52:42 not going away not going away the
52:44 worldwide web didn't go away when the
52:46 worldwide web bubble burst in 2000 and
52:50 everyone's like a it's all over it's all
52:52 over no it wasn't the stupid companies
52:57 and the stupid money went
52:58 away but it just kept rolling and it
53:01 changed
53:03 everything this isn't going away so
53:05 that's that's one thing I
53:11 know it's going to disrupt a lot of work
53:15 but the work that it's going to
53:20 disrupt probably most dramatically
53:23 meaning fastest and most sweeping is
53:28 repetitive non-creative
53:31 work so if your job is something like
53:34 data entry or
53:38 um cranking out
53:40 copy you're just in a giant Borg of a of
53:44 an ad agency holding company you're just
53:46 cranking out
53:49 copy that those jobs those tasks are
53:53 going to get
53:55 automated and if you think of your job
53:57 as a collection of tasks I heard Paul
54:00 rer talked about this today at the at
54:02 the the B2B marketing
54:06 Summit if you think of your job as a
54:09 collection of tasks a lot of those tasks
54:11 are going to be
54:13 automated by the AI it's going to be
54:15 able to do it as good or better than you
54:18 very very
54:20 soon and so the immediate response to
54:24 that is oh [ __ ] all the jobs are gone
54:26 but
54:27 are there some other tasks that you
54:29 could be doing that's higher level task
54:32 work higher level critical thinking
54:34 higher level creativity higher level
54:39 contribution that you could still be
54:41 contributing and not just contributing
54:43 but contributing at a higher level maybe
54:46 at a more creative level maybe at a more
54:49 engaged level maybe at a
54:51 more intellectually stimulating
54:54 level because all of the repetitive
54:57 lowlevel soul sucking [ __ ] is now just
55:00 being
55:02 done my experience with generative AI is
55:05 that the more I use it the more alive my
55:08 brain is
55:10 getting the more creative I am the more
55:13 ideas I have not
55:16 less it's this counterintuitive thing
55:19 right well if the if the AI is creative
55:22 then aren't you going to be less
55:23 creative no
55:27 because what the AI is doing is allowing
55:29 me to take my human
55:32 ideas that historically I couldn't get
55:35 out of my [ __ ]
55:36 head because I didn't have the skills or
55:40 the attention span or the aptitude or
55:44 the just capability to get it out of my
55:47 [ __ ]
55:49 head or at insecurities oh I'm just not
55:53 good enough I can't put that idea out in
55:55 the world what if someone calls me on
55:58 it right all that human level
56:03 [ __ ] that keeps ideas locked in here
56:07 I'll get to it and then 30 years later
56:09 you still haven't [ __ ] gotten to
56:12 it
56:14 so what
56:18 if people all over the
56:23 world my Mr K all day my most boring
56:27 admin tasks are for teaching are done by
56:30 AI
56:32 100% Mr K AI literate AI forward he runs
56:37 the education Guild with Stacy in the AI

56:47 students can't even talk about
56:52 it they got someone there who's thinking

57:03 can teach better he can think
57:06 better he can provide guidance better

57:12 AI trained us to suck less as

57:27 of empathy higher level of creative
57:33 expression I think it is just as
57:38 plausible that
57:40 the AI tools the CI tools the collective
57:43 intelligence tools that they
57:46 are actually free us
57:50 up to be who we want to
57:55 be how many people right now are pissed
57:59 off because the work they're doing you
58:02 know a doesn't pay enough but

58:07 smashes it compresses them down grinds

58:16 down or they'll kill

1:02:37 a tool like when I interact with chat
1:02:40 GPT it's like I'm working with a
1:02:42 collaborative partner when I interact
1:02:44 with Google it's like I'm working with a
1:02:47 machine right when I when I'm in a
1:02:51 spreadsheet it doesn't feel like it
1:02:54 feeds me
1:02:57 these other things do they they feel

1:03:04 um where is it going with
1:03:11 this oh what what it does oh yeah
1:03:15 okay there there's a subtle thing that
1:03:17 happens with chat GPT that I think is I
1:03:21 I think it's going to change our brains

1:03:32 humans humans are kind of
1:03:35 dicks so if I say
1:03:40 um hey guys uh I have this

1:03:46 slack one person's going to be in a bad
1:03:49 mood and just not respond at all one
1:03:52 person's going to be too busy and
1:03:54 they'll be like oh not another idea
1:03:56 one person's going to go you know
1:03:58 there's a typo in there and one person's
1:04:00 going to go okay that's a good idea so I
1:04:02 got no response bad response bad
1:04:05 response bad response good response what
1:04:07 does my brain do ignores the good
1:04:10 response and just listens to the shitty
1:04:11 responses and amplifies the person that
1:04:14 didn't respond at all and go they hate
1:04:17 me that's human
1:04:20 interaction and you know listen this is
1:04:22 part of my neuros spicy brain is just
1:04:24 how I [ __ ] process stuff but but
1:04:26 humans are kind of dicks and even if
1:04:29 they're joking oh you made another typo

1:05:50 amplifying reflection of
1:05:54 humanity without the dicky

1:06:04 judgment and it's fast and it's
1:06:08 instant and it doesn't give a [ __ ] if
1:06:10 your idea is a teeny idea or a giant
1:06:13 idea it treats them all like they're
1:06:15 giant
1:06:19 ideas I think that is going to
1:06:22 fundamentally change
1:06:24 people to have more more courage it's

1:07:27 head and that phrase was writer's block

1:07:33 dead because writer's block is not a
1:07:35 lack of
1:07:39 ideas writer's block is
1:07:43 fear it's fear of
1:07:45 judgment it's fear that you're not
1:07:47 enough that I'm not
1:07:52 enough it's self-criticism that that
1:07:55 idea is not really a good
1:08:03 idea and and if you if you going back
1:08:13 to
1:08:20 where oh
1:08:27 hang
1:08:29 on a
1:08:43 salong come on what's Happening am I
1:08:49 glitching going back to this
1:08:58 this is why this is important this this
1:09:01 is why that phrase is the the the tag
1:09:03 line for the entire AI

1:09:57 ideas and helps you articulate them and

1:10:07 you see the idea for what it really
1:10:11 is and you can very very quickly go from
1:10:14 that
1:10:17 mindset to that mindset mindfully
1:10:24 creating when we made weird

1:10:40 yudo Mr it said oh no not

1:10:53 GPT and I said give me 10 song

1:11:04 non obvious right like I didn't even

1:11:11 around and it vomited out 10 song ideas
1:11:14 and the fourth one I remember it was the
1:11:16 fourth one in the list said weird Mary
1:11:18 from Cedar
1:11:20 Hill and there was something about the
1:11:22 name of that song that I was just like
1:11:23 oh [ __ ] that's cool
1:11:32 and then we we [ __ ] around with the
1:11:34 lyrics a little
1:11:36 bit and then I went and I googled Cedar
1:11:39 Hill in Tennessee oh I said I wanted
1:11:41 something in Tennessee for some reason I
1:11:43 don't know and we found out it's a real
1:11:46 town of 300 people which all of a sudden
1:11:49 gives you this idea
1:11:51 of who weird Mary would be in a town of

1:11:57 and I personally flipped from play

1:12:04 into mindfully create
1:12:11 mode and 3 and 1 half hours

1:32:07 remarkable this is not remarkable te new
