10:09 is I'm passionate about getting people
10:13 up to speed on AI and being less afraid

10:17 it this

10:34 space about AI right now we are in a
10:36 very
10:38 visceral place with
10:40 AI it's very visceral and
10:46 it's it's funny it's like it inspires
10:50 people it allows them to reinvent
10:54 themselves it makes them feel more
10:55 creative it terrifies them

11:05 and I think all of those feelings we
11:07 were talking about this today so both in
11:09 in my
11:10 uh in my collab call and in my AI office
11:14 hours call today there there was a theme
11:16 that ran through both of them so in both
11:18 of those calls I asked people to share
11:20 what was your you know you've had some
11:22 time to think about you know over the
11:24 holidays to maybe not pay any attention
11:27 to AI like you know what is your thought
11:30 what is your you know what's what's
11:31 what's emerging what are you looking
11:33 forward to in
11:36 2025 and a consistent theme and again
11:38 this was very consistent with AI
11:41 Festivus which was it's not about the
11:45 tools what's happening in AI right now
11:48 is we've transitioned like we're we're I
11:50 think we've transitioned I think the
11:52 transition happened over the past six
11:54 months the weird if if you've been
11:57 playing in AI for a while the kind of
12:00 summer going into
12:02 fall time was this weird low energy time
12:06 where people were just like I don't know
12:07 if I'm doing AI I don't know what I'm
12:09 doing I'm not motivated
12:12 anymore you
12:14 know
12:17 and I I think that was the time where
12:21 where where we kind of realized one we
12:23 can't keep up with the tools there's too
12:25 many tools you can't keep up with them
12:27 they're changing too fast there's too
12:29 many for a while you could and it was
12:31 here's here's what I'm I'm crystal clear
12:35 on the first year year and a half of AI
12:39 it had to be about the tools
12:41 because what the [ __ ] are these tools
12:43 like nobody nobody computers have never
12:46 acted like this before computers have
12:48 never acted
12:50 generatively like generating
12:53 [ __ ] they've always been these
12:55 probabilistic things we give them logic
12:57 they spit out [ __ ] that is predictable
13:01 they've been like that for all of my
13:04 life and all of a sudden chat GPT comes
13:07 along and that's not how they are
13:10 anymore so it had to be about the tools
13:13 well it's no longer about the tools and
13:15 what it's about and what people are
13:16 really excited about Brent Peterson
13:18 talked about this really eloquent
13:20 today is he said he said everyone is
13:24 going to have to discover for themselves
13:27 what AI is and what tools they want to
13:31 use and what they want to do with their
13:33 lives and how they want to express
13:35 themselves and and that's the journey
13:38 that we're all going to have to go
13:39 through and what's
13:40 what's I find tremendously inspiring
13:43 like tremendously inspiring is

13:49 we that job isn't going to be
13:52 done for a
13:57 decade like 2025 is going to be
14:00 absolutely wild crazy new tools crazy
14:03 new
14:04 capabilities and then all of us that
14:06 thought we were on this path are going
14:09 to look at the new stuff and go oh I can
14:11 do that now ah huh wonder if I should go
14:15 down this path then we'll run down that
14:17 path for a while like oh my God it's
14:19 amazing look at the path I'm
14:21 on then six months later some new
14:24 thing's gonna happen you go huh wonder
14:27 if I should run down that path
14:30 and then you'll be in the AI Salon or
14:32 you know the your community of
14:35 choice and and you'll be telling people
14:37 because you're generously leading you're
14:39 you're learning out loud and you're
14:40 helping the community by telling them
14:42 what you're learning as you take these
14:43 different paths and you'll go I was on
14:45 path a and then I was on path B and now
14:48 I'm on path C I'm really excited about
14:50 path C and all of a sudden three people
14:52 within the salon will go huh I'm on path
14:55 C2 maybe we should do something together
15:02 the other thing that we're doing right
15:04 now is we're relearning how to
15:08 think and if you're very very new to
15:11 this AI stuff it was what was really
15:12 exciting last night was um we had a
15:16 bunch of people um thoughts on AI agents
15:18 yeah I'll get to those in a second

15:22 um last night we had some people I think
15:26 you know uh found out about this this
15:29 fantastic Channel Through uh AI Festivus
15:32 and came and they're new to
15:34 Ai and I did a couple of things that we
15:38 normally do in here let's go to chat GPT
15:40 and play with something let's go over
15:41 here and do this and people's minds were
15:45 blown right and so so for people that
15:49 are coming into AI right
15:53 now their experience you know we used to
15:55 talk in here about you know when you
15:57 when you play with AI you have these
15:59 Kevin mallister moments which are the oh
16:02 my God I could do that well the tools
16:04 are so good now people are people are
16:06 coming in that that have no idea of what
16:09 what is possible with AI their jaws
16:12 literally hit the floor I was right
16:15 before um I came home
16:17 tonight I had
16:20 uh I had a meeting with with uh an
16:23 actress in New York we were talking
16:25 about the the musical and she she was
16:27 giving me some notes and and she saidoh
16:30 when I was home with my parents I saw in
16:32 like 60 minutes there's this Gemini
16:34 thing have you heard of that the Gemini
16:36 thing where you can talk to it I was
16:38 like oh yeah the thing in the phone that
16:39 you can talk to she goes yeah that and I
16:42 said Oh you mean like this and I held up
16:44 chat GPT voice and I said hey Quinn
16:47 how's it going and she said hey it's
16:48 doing good and then I I said I was
16:51 talking to this this actress I said do
16:53 you know this actress and Quinn knew her
16:55 and said yeah she's she's a well-known
16:57 actress she's been in some good stuff
16:59 and it's good that you're working with
17:00 her and I mean she was literally like
17:03 covering her face like oh my
17:06 God so some people are going to come
17:09 into it and they're just going to be
17:10 kind of Blown Away that they had no idea
17:14 what the hell we were all going on
17:17 about and then we're trying to figure
17:21 out as AI
17:25 amplifies your capabilities right as I
17:28 if I say
17:29 I want to create a software application
17:32 now I can just talk it into
17:35 existence well I never have to think
17:38 about oh I have an idea for a piece of
17:40 software let me think about the user
17:43 interface and what programming language
17:46 I should use and this like like a lot of
17:49 the problem solving that we do in life
17:52 is like blocking and tackling kind
17:56 of just logistical [ __ ]
18:00 right like think about your job how much
18:02 of your job is just dealing with the
18:04 [ __ ] of getting to be able to do your
18:09 job right if you're an account person at
18:11 an ad agency I got to send the emails I
18:14 got to write up the notes for the
18:15 meeting I got to talk to the creatives I
18:17 got to see if the creatives understand
18:19 what the client wanted I got to get the
18:20 feedback from the client give that to
18:21 the creatives now I'm in the middle like
18:23 all of that stuff is just this like
18:26 logistical crap
18:29 that's in the way of in that case
18:31 relationship building or in the case of
18:33 creatives doing the good work
18:36 right and so AI allows us to
18:40 offload our creative
18:43 energy that let's say 60% of our
18:46 Creative Energy goes into lowlevel
18:50 blocking and
18:52 tackling imagine having 60%
18:56 more creative capacity
19:00 just because you don't have to do that
19:02 stuff that's your your
19:05 brain we have to
19:07 unlearn how we solve problems now
19:10 because how we solve problems now is not
19:12 how we're going to solve them like just
19:14 even today but increasingly as we get to
19:17 AI agents right and AI agents we're
19:19 going to likely see those in the next
19:21 three to six months in some material

19:26 form where rather than having to prompt
19:28 a system and you know do kind of
19:31 one-on-one interactions with the system
19:33 hey chat GPT here's a prompt here's your
19:36 answer here's my response here's your
19:38 answer here's my response rather than
19:42 that you say hey I got a
19:45 goal I would like to start a
19:48 [Laughter]
19:51 business a dozen little agents spin up
19:55 and they go prompt the systems
19:57 themselves and interact with websites
19:58 and do research for you and put together
20:01 reports and bring them back and say okay
20:04 here's a decision Point went and did all
20:06 this research here's all this stuff here
20:08 are your three choices which one do you
20:10 like uh B okay off they
20:14 go right now is it going to be like that
20:17 right out of the gate no it's going to
20:19 be jankier than
20:21 [ __ ] but that's where it's
20:24 headed well how do you use your brain
20:28 when you're job is to be a conductor of
20:31 an orchestra rather than a solo
20:34 violinist I don't know that's for all of
20:38 us to
20:40 individually process and
20:43 internalize and then within Community
20:45 say hey here's how I've figured it out
20:48 here's the set of tools I'm using and
20:49 here's how I'm putting them together and
20:52 then other people in the community are
20:53 going to go like

24:10 thing together or maybe you've got a
24:12 manual that's in Japanese or Chinese and
24:16 you want to know what the words are

24:37 much going to be the year of personal

25:01 weren't an issue what would you
25:05 do and it kind of snaps you out of it

25:11 wrapped up in you know money's
25:13 everything and I got to do all the stuff
25:15 to make the money and and if all that
25:16 were solved then I would do the thing
25:19 you know that I would do but you're so
25:21 focused on all this stuff that you
25:24 actually don't know what you would do if
25:26 money weren't an issue right that's kind
25:29 of AI that's kind of AI like it's not
25:34 quite there yet but it's
25:38 close where all of the limitations all
25:42 of the
25:44 limitations that were
25:47 previously very tangible limitations I
25:49 don't have the right education I don't
25:52 know how to code um I might have
25:54 accessibility issues I like just all all
25:57 all of those things that are very in in
26:01 the in the olden timey days were like
26:03 two years ago were very viable reasons
26:06 you couldn't move forward with something
26:08 those are increasingly being taken off
26:11 the table as
26:12 restrictions and so AI can you can just
26:15 do [ __ ] now you can just do [ __ ] you
26:18 want to make a movie you don't need to
26:19 go raise $10 million to make a movie or
26:22 you can use AI to help you go raise $10
26:24 million but you're going to take that
26:25 $10 million and you're going to do aund
26:27 million movie with
26:29 million or you're going to make a $10
26:31 million movie with
26:35 $100 how are you going to do that I
26:37 don't know you're going to go figure out
26:38 how to use AI to write it and to and it
26:40 and
26:41 it put in a couple of good weekends got
26:44 yourself a feature
26:47 film and so I think people all of us get
26:53 to not our forced

27:06 to answer that question if I could do

27:22 collectively I think there's going to be
27:24 massive amounts of disruption but
27:27 there's going to be massive
27:29 amounts of invention and creation and

29:30 money with chat GPT you can make money
29:32 with C GP do a uh do a personal coaching

30:22 ones like just get a whole education and
30:25 all that and then take take the top
30:28 three of what you like and tell it to
30:30 create you a custom self assessment

30:42 interrogator and just have it interview
30:44 you that that might be a fun way to do

1:20:13 that and he had systems thinking I don't

1:21:04 was floating around and I was I was you
1:21:06 know trying to
1:21:08 do trying to act like a
1:21:11 politician and tell the politicians what
1:21:14 a piece of [ __ ] it was a lot of people
1:21:16 were asking me my opinion on it and I
1:21:19 have a I have a hard time with that
1:21:21 because I kept thinking about if I look
1:21:23 at it through all these different
1:21:26 lenses I'll have a different answer for

1:21:34 like I'm not good enough with politics

1:21:43 create um 10 different personas 10
1:21:47 different archetypes of the kinds of
1:21:49 people that would be interested in a
1:21:51 bill like this and and I made sure that
1:21:54 there was a big Bill business person and
1:21:55 there was an entrepreneur and there was
1:21:57 a legislator and there was a community
1:21:59 person and right and and so I came up
1:22:02 with a set of 10 of these things
1:22:03 collaborating with chat GPT what are
1:22:05 these
1:22:06 archetypes and then I said here's the
1:22:09 bill what is all of their opinion on
1:22:11 this and it was brilliant at
1:22:14 it it was brilliant at it and I looked
1:22:17 at all those I I posted that somewhere
1:22:19 in my LinkedIn history that that article
1:22:22 exists and you can see these 10
1:22:24 different opinions on this bill and it's
1:22:26 it's it like it taught me about the bill
1:22:31 and it taught me to think about all
1:22:32 these different
1:22:34 perspectives that I wouldn't have
