Casually who is that? What's doing with a [ __ ] [singing] like me? Surely one of life's little
0:38
mysteries.
0:56
What did I do? What did I say [singing] to turn your angel eyes [singing] my way? [music]
1:10
Good evening, good people. Welcome to the Al Learning Lab pre-show. This is the show before the show. This is the
1:15
show you get to sing and dog. You get soccer updates. They call it football. Football you can't use your hands with. The USA
1:29
not doing great. They're getting outplayed two to one. Two to one. Second half just started. All right. So, I got it on in the
1:38
distance there. If things happen, I'll look up occasionally. >> [music] >> Um happy last day of Fable access. If you
1:50
uh if you want to talk about Fable and what's coming, what's going, I'm going to be talking about that on the live
1:56
tonight so that the Learning Lab live goes live inside the AI Salon. So if you're on YouTube or LinkedIn, you can
2:03
see it in the description down below. If you're on the TikTok or the X, it's in my profile. That's the link over to the AI Salon. Um
2:13
TikTok's letting me know that it's letting it's notifying viewers that we're live. Hey TikTok, what's happening?
2:21
Happy July 6th. I hope you all had a fantastic 4th of July weekend. >> [music]
2:39
[music] >> Load car right the note.
2:53
Grab your bat, grab your coat. Tell the ones that need to know. We [singing and music] We are headed
3:07
Wait. We are headed north. >> [music] >> One foot in and one foot back. >> [music] >> Little paid [singing] live like that.
3:25
>> [music] >> So I cut the ties and jumped the tracks for never to return. >> [singing] >> Looks like the US is getting a little
3:39
more aggressive in the second half. They were being a little tentative in the first half and Belgium was all over them.
3:47
I don't know much about the football. >> [music] [music]
4:01
[music] >> Good evening, good people. So, I've been playing with Fable for the past uh week
4:15
or so. I think I have not been using it well. Um it is it is impressive. >> [music]
4:30
>> But where the but the how I've been using it I'll talk about tonight. In fact, I'll probably actually show a
4:42
little of what I'm doing. So, I basically ping pong back and forth between Fable and Codex, ChatGPT, their their version of Cloud Code.
4:55
Um I bounce back and forth between them. Which which is good. Fable's good at understanding what's going on in Codex. Um
5:11
but one of the things that I'm learning is how to get my head around the difference between session memory and committed memory.
5:25
And when those get accessed and how those get accessed, from which tool and which way. It's it's complicated, this this brain
5:33
management thing. Um and I'm I'm I'm I'm setting myself up to teach a course on it. >> [laughter]
5:46
>> You know, I've said in this channel, how many more days for Fable? Tonight at midnight is the end.
5:52
Uh and it's not the end. Listen, if you want to keep doing Fable, you're just going to pay a ridiculous amount of
5:57
money for it. Uh cuz you have to use it on a per token basis. Um rumor is that uh Chat GPT 5.6 is coming out tomorrow. Um
6:08
that would make sense to me. If Fable's going away, Open AI says, "Hey, here we've got one that's just as good. Come use ours."
6:15
Um I I think that could could grab some people. I saw a rumor that someone was [music] like uh Anthropic's just going to extend it and
6:25
let it live in your monthly subscription. Um probably not. Probably not at this point. >> [music] >> I mean, the feedback on Fable's been
6:37
really interesting. People that seem to know what they're doing are are like, "Holy [ __ ] this thing's amazing."
6:43
There's a lot of people like, "Ah, it's not all it's cracked up to be." Cuz they're probably prompting it shittily. By the way,
6:49
we're going live in 15 minutes over in the AI salon. So, uh if you're on YouTube or LinkedIn, the link to the
6:55
salon is in the description. If you're on TikTok or X, it's it's in my profile. Um and uh The one thing that that does seem pretty
7:08
apparent to me >> [music] >> is that people that know what they're doing are like, "You don't always need Fable.
7:19
You can use this model in this situation and that model in that situation. And if you're doing these kind of things, you
7:25
use these two models. And then when you need this, that's when you call Fable in." And while I appreciate that,
7:38
that kind of required critical thinking is not how people are going to use these models. So, like it's like one of the things
7:46
that I try to do is is play a bit of the town fool when I use AI. I try not to get super sophisticated in
7:55
terms of prompting schemes. I'm trying to keep this creating my own personal brain as simple as possible. Um failing at it. It's getting
8:05
complicated. Um But I think that So, this is one of the things I'm going to talk about tonight.
8:19
Time was if you just had kind of two or three flavors of a model, you had the big fat one, and you had the really skinny one,
8:28
and you had the medium one. It was kind of like Goldilocks and the Three Bears. You know, you could sort of figure it out. But now it's
8:35
the Mythos class model. There's Mythos, there's Fable, and then there's medium thinking, high thinking,
8:43
extra high thinking, and max thinking. Well, when do you use the different thinkings? And then when do I use the
8:49
different thinkings for Sonnet? And there's Sonnet max similar to Fable shitty? I don't know. So, what this says to me
9:02
is that we're still very very early. We're still very very early. If you're feeling clueless and left out, um welcome to the club.
9:12
I pay attention to this stuff every day. Every day. And you know what I'm feeling? Clueless and left out. >> [laughter]
9:25
>> Hey Dr. Jay, what's happening? Who we got over here? Got a good good crowd gathering. So, we're going to be going
9:31
live. This is the AI learning lab pre-show. So, I I a little music. I I I the dog sings, have a little drink,
9:40
uh and then we'll be going live over in the AI Salon at 7:30 Mountain Time. So, that's in 10 minutes, 11 minutes. So, if
9:50
you go to the description here on LinkedIn or YouTube or if you go to my profile on TikTok or X, there's the link to the live stream
10:00
that's going to be happening in 10 minutes. All right? So, go there. That's what that is. Tonight's Monday night.
10:07
We call them Meltdown Mondays because for whatever reason, Mondays Mondays make me I don't know what Mondays make me.
10:23
Well, sleepy, apparently. Just had a good little yawn. >> [music]
10:40
[music] >> Sitting in a small little town, >> [music] >> 101 sacks going to change. Dream my life away.
10:56
See these [music] dreams turn to dust to class. Get my nerves up, but my past is full of the town. >> [music] >> Wondering how long
11:12
this black sheep going to stick around. >> [music] >> Um So, Anthropic put out an interesting paper today about the J-space.
11:28
Do you know about the J-space? You don't know the J space? You should know about the J space. It basically means that LLM's are
11:42
conscious. >> [laughter] >> I don't know if it means that. What just happened? Belgium just scored on like a dribble.
12:00
Oh my god. What just happened? Hang on. Hold. Hold, please. 3-1 Belgium. >> [snorts]
12:34
>> Uh it was just a total [ __ ] up. The keeper was out of the box. Just Belgium's playing them really
12:42
aggressive and like the Americans don't know what to do with it, including the goalkeeper. That was pathetic. All right. Well,
12:53
go USA. Go from minute 57 on. Start playing good now. >> [laughter] >> Y- Yikes. Okay. 8 minutes. We're going
13:05
live over in the AI salon. Sorry if I didn't let you know. I'm not picking my nose. Love picking my nose. Just not. Um
13:14
So, it's Meltdown Monday. I don't know if I'm particularly cranky about anything other than
13:32
>> The reason that I didn't initially lean into open-source models and programming harnesses like cursor and replet and
13:50
cloud code and all that sort of [ __ ] is that it's a very complicated world and it it it kind of requires you to be geeky
14:05
hyper educated hyper aware of what's happening even though there's too much happening to keep track of and you have to be willing to
14:18
put in a tremendous amount of effort to get something up and running that's kind of useless and then just do it again and again and
14:26
again and again and again and so like you get these things up you get them working and they're like almost as good as the thing three
14:35
models ago and oh Christian Pulisic is either hurting or crying he's on the bench he's out oh boy well USA
14:51
you better you better pull it up by the britches anyway um we're going live over in the AI salon in nary 6 minutes 6 minutes so if you're
15:03
on LinkedIn or YouTube in the description is the link to the live stream if you're on X or TikTok it's in
15:10
my profile um just head on over there uh we'll be going live in about 6 minutes >> [music] [music]
15:25
>> There's been something, baby, I've been trying to say. >> [music] >> Strange and it seems I don't know how.
15:37
So the future now is surrounding me. Surrendered to whatever cheap thrill can be found. There's [music] been a little [singing] trouble
15:50
since you came to my rescue. And if you were like all of the rest, I would quit you long ago, but I couldn't do that.
16:06
Okay. So, if you head over to the AI Salon, we're going live. This is the pre-show for the AI Learning Lab. We're
16:11
heading over there in a few minutes. I'm going to be talking about Mythos and Fable and the J Space and OpenAI 5.6 and
16:22
what happens tonight at midnight and how are you ever going to survive if you don't have access to Fable? We're starting a support group.
16:33
Fable was really good and then it went away for 2 weeks and then it came back, but it wasn't as good, but it's still
16:39
pretty good, but now I don't want to have it again. Hi, my name's Kyle. I really like Fable. Now I just want
16:48
So, we'll be going to be, you know, doing confessionals like that. Um I may show a little bit about how I've been using Fable with Codex and
17:00
using them back and forth. I just don't think it'll be interesting, so I may get in there and answer questions. I don't know. We'll see.
17:10
And uh and if you guys have any questions, pop over there. You can put comments in the uh in the live stream over there in uh uh
17:20
in the AI Salon. And uh yeah, it's going to be good. It's going to be good. I'll tell you what. The AI Learning Lab tonight
17:31
is going to be better than how the USA's played the first 55 minutes of this game. I'll tell you that. Now listen.
17:41
To be clear, I know nothing about soccer. And I couldn't run the width of the field much less the length of it
17:49
once. So I am not I am not pooping on these guys, but they're getting outplayed. So anyway, um I will be at least at the level of
17:58
that goal that did they just let score tonight. I'll be at least at that level. All right, uh I'll see you over there. Peace out. Um
18:08
and uh yeah, happy Monday.
