53. 13:08start then we move on to rambling incoherently for anywhere between 15 and 45 minutes someone else got a job at
54. 13:20Adobe um Source C that was Suzanne Source Camp got a bunch of stuff going um there's a bunch of stuff happening Ann
55. 13:33Murphy she got a whole business going around this AI stuff there's a Common Thread here kickass
56. 13:48women come on jents although BT comp comp KSU you're you're you're I understand how you identify and it's not as a woman so so there's one
57. 14:00man there's one man in the bunch but you know men got to step it up Mary Mary it's an incubator brain percolator oh yeah I was talking about
58. 14:11what's the uh what's the curriculum here so we start out with with a dog singing lead vocals for for moderately
59. 14:19well-played depressing Americana songs uh I'm I'm singing back up playing backup playing guitar singing backup
60. 14:27then then we ramble incoherently for 15 to 45 minutes then if in Rambling incoherently for 15 to 45 minutes someone asks me a
61. 14:39question that gets me all fired up then we spend two hours with me just on a soap box going [ __ ] crazy that's what
62. 14:46it's pretty much the past three nights have been that but then occasionally what we'll do is we'll go in and like
63. 14:53we'll play with something we did a little playing last night and we'll teach some things I was gonna I was going to take credit
64. 15:05for the fact that that's all on purpose I don't know that it is I think I kind of stumbled into it but I like it now because here's the
65. 15:14deal so so I think I think a lot of the learning that happens here is kind of Osmosis kind of learning and it's it's
66. 15:22play along kind of learning and it's like have a jam session and like just if whatever I'm saying is boring the [ __ ]
67. 15:29out of you then go make images in do or go make a GPT and then if I pipe up and say something that catches your ear then
68. 15:36lean in maybe learn a little something and go play like Jim Ross who comes here here a lot how he said he used this channel was
69. 15:48he would just sit around with this thing you know on and then when I would start teaching something he'd lean in and he'd
70. 15:55follow along and he'd he'd just make whatever I was making like his version of it and then the next day or that
71. 16:02night he would put that into his business like he didn't [ __ ] around it wasn't it wasn't like um you know he
72. 16:11learned a concept here and then he went off and practiced for a week and this and no no no it was like one night he
73. 16:17someone it might have been him asked like well how would you do a book and I'm like I don't know let's go do one
74. 16:22and I did like an outline and then I did a this and I did then I did a chapter and then I said I guess you just keep
75. 16:28going like that and he was following along and he just kept going like that like two days later he's like hey Kyle I published a
76. 16:38book oh my God Lori uh brought my coworker to a GPT lunch today we're going to make a bot to help managers
77. 16:48with reviews oh that's a great use case yeah because what you can do is you can put if there's documentation for how to
78. 16:55do manager reviews put that in as your knowledge base and then yeah and then even I mean what's brilliant about that is cat GPT
79. 17:04is so good with language you're like okay I've got to give this really hard feedback to this person how do I say them
80. 17:10words and it will say it and if it seems too complicated don't learn it at all and just claim It's Magic exactly Pate
81. 17:20this is here's the good thing about AI Pate is Right Pate took the long route in AI right Pate said I'm going to I'm going to
82. 17:32understand addition and then subtraction I might even go for some long division and and then he went whatever
83. 17:40you do after long division and then he went to college for that and then that wasn't enough so he went and got a
84. 17:45master's degree and then he was like no no not enough math then he went and got a PhD and now he works at Google and
85. 17:52he's learned all the math right he's been doing this for years and years and years or like me you just start a Tik Tok Channel and say AI is
86. 18:05Magic it's your choice you can do it either way either either path is legitimate I can't stand Google Search
87. 18:19now that I understand how to prompt correctly my life is a Momi I honest to God I well if you you come here enough
88. 18:28every time I try to use Google or Bing search I I get I get apoplectic I want to it's not good it's not good at all I
89. 18:37hate it it's so bad search is so bad Pi helped me figure out specific connections between a mixer and an audio
90. 18:46interface Incredibles so Kevin um I was how was n by the way any any cool things any AI stuff in the music scene
91. 18:56um I was was giving a speech I did a I did a a keynote or you know like a morning speech for Creative mornings Denver back in
92. 19:06April and we get to the venue and [ __ ] ain't working like there their whole big fancy ass AV system in the building I work in weren't
93. 19:19working at all and we used chat PT to troubleshoot what was wrong it was amazing it was absolutely amazing uh my
94. 19:28hairdresser today wrote a short story with illustration and gave her links very cool Tik Tock Salon YouTube there you
95. 19:37go oh oh you gave her links to the oh to the Tik Tok channel the salon Channel and YouTube That's thank you very much
96. 19:45that's very nice that's right one hairdresser at a time see we got to convert all these Salon people to AI Salon
97. 19:53people and they're like would you like some product in your hair like no I'd like you to join a different kind of
98. 19:58salon and they're like well what kind of different Salon is there it's just hair and nails right and you're like oh no oh there's
99. 20:06more you don't pronounce it Salon you pronounce it f and you come there and you'd get all thinky talkie about
100. 20:17AI what course would you recommend learning more about working with AI come here join the AI Salon um it if if what you're talking about is
101. 20:30generative AI like what course would I recommend doing doing uh you know uh chat GPT and things like that um I think that right
102. 20:43now it's easiest just to start playing I think like think of think of chat GPT as a playground and like you can do no
103. 20:53wrong just go have fun with it start out with parlor tricks start out with playing start out out with like ask a
104. 21:00friend if they want to if they're trying to figure anything out in their life or their business and then say do you mind
105. 21:05if I help you do that with AI and they're like do you know Ai and you'll be like oh no I'm totally clueless but I
106. 21:12want to I want to try so give me a challenge and then just go play um you can take courses you can take workshops they're they're like
107. 21:23we're far enough into whatever's going on with this AI stuff that there's probably some that are okay um the problem with with courses
108. 21:33and workshops right now in in my humble opinion is [Applause] that you run the risk in putting too much faith in what
109. 21:48you were taught as that's the way to do it because things are changing so fast that what what I would rather everyone
110. 21:56learn is how to be curious about AI how to be adventurous about it how to play with it how to understand well wait why
111. 22:03is that one different than this one and how is it different and what's this one good at and oh I like this one for that
112. 22:08but I like this one for that and the only way you kind of get to that isn't from a class cuz in a class you know
113. 22:16someone like me will get up on you know the stage of the virtual stage and say Here's the tools to use and here's how
114. 22:22you prompt and here's how you do this and here's how you do that and 2 months later those tools will be complet
115. 22:28different how you prompt will be completely different and if you get too locked into well that's how I was taught
116. 22:33to do it you're kind of screwed juls do you have do do I have a paid version do I have to have a paid version to have
117. 22:42all the features you've been showing I have chat GPT 3.5 so juules no but it is my humble opinion that that 20
118. 22:54bucks for open AI chat GPT is the best deal in software right now so um but so much more so what's under that paperclip
119. 23:03which is which is what I get you if you cannot afford the 20 bucks a month you can get a lot of what's in chat GPT for
120. 23:11by going to co- pilot. microsoft.com co- pilot. microsoft.com oops I didn't spell that right here we go and this is chat GPT 4 sort
121. 23:30of April that was 30 years ago in AI years yeah no [ __ ] um AI is a Ouija board on mushrooms that's a that's actually a really good
122. 23:41that's that's a really good description of it Spike um okay so this thing co-pilot this is Microsoft's
123. 23:50version of chat gp4 so it's built on top of the gp4 foundational model the the Frontier Model but it's
124. 24:00Microsoft's chat application right this is not the same codebase as chat GPT from open Ai and it's got a lot of safety guard rails up
125. 24:14that make it less usable but it's free and I also noticed oh look what they've got here hang on every time I sign into these things
126. 24:27it's like a different flipping feature and this just got some so co-pilot gpts so here's the designer GPT the vacation planner the cooking
127. 24:42assistant can you make these though so they have five of them so this is this is the beginning of Microsoft having gpts they've they've
128. 24:53written five of them and I only think you get access to the co-pilot studio if you are a paid member hang on which am I now we we bought
129. 25:05teams does that mean I have access to this [ __ ] chats huh weird all right well I don't
130. 25:21know co-pilot [Music] get co-pilot Pro oh look at this okay sorry sorry don't mean
131. 25:37to um can you demo Robert Rossy I bought perplexity Pro today I know you have it can you demo it what do you like about
132. 25:45it so Robert Rossy I was given I was given pro access to perplexity because I bought a rabbit R1 cuz I know how to make Good Life Choices
133. 25:57um um I've used it twice now so I I'll show you what I know which is like two things so so I don't know perplexity a
134. 26:06lot but let me just dig into what's going on here with co-pilot so there's get co-pilot Pro so this is now co-pilot
135. 26:17Pro is I guess there is this the one that goes into Office 365 yeah
136. 26:31so you have to have a a Microsoft 365 personal or family subscription you get faster performance and Priority Access to GPT 4 and GPT
137. 26:42turbo for Turbo faster AI image Creation with 100 boosts per day with designer formally ah designer is now B image Creator that's
138. 26:53interesting all right so so Microsoft has now made GPT what they call co-pilot available inside Office 365 not only for
139. 27:06Enterprises but for everyone else and they they did this a week or two ago but I'm I'm just now seeing the interface
140. 27:12they've now got these things called co-pilot gpts which if you have co-pilot Pro I assume you get access to
141. 27:20co-pilot Studio where you can make your own gpts they also have plugins they still only have six plugins oh plugins now
142. 27:34available yeah yeah it's just they're all the same okay oh but look what they did oh no they just moved search to the
143. 27:42top do I still need that on to turn on soono yes I do okay all right so the question was do I have to pay 20 bucks to get chat gp4 the
144. 27:53answer is you can use co-pilot which is kind of like chat gp4 cheap careful with that cred yeah I saw that I saw that Brandon I'm fine last
145. 28:02four four digits I'm fine with um but thank you thank you my mods are trying to keep me from no it's 20 bucks a month
146. 28:11for pro co-pilot Pro not 30 20 um if you can't pay the 20 bucks a month for chat GPT you know you can come over here and you can say uh

150. 29:14created here in Microsoft co-pilot are actually made with Dolly 3 so this is the same engine sitting inside um chachy PT so you can make
151. 29:29images that's cool um you can you can do all all the other stuff so it's it's decently capable that said I'm going to go over
152. 29:38so this is I'm at oh that's cute I think uh I think Joker made a someone that looks kind of like me on a on a covid virus

167. 32:12Baptist um over seven days and then on the on the eth on the eighth day we did a 24-hour GP Aon where every 3 hours an
168. 32:23Murphy and I would would tag team switch off and we would teach people how to make gpts for the nonprofit of their
169. 32:30choice and in a 24-hour period this community the one that hangs out here and hangs out at the AI Salon made 150
170. 32:39gpts for nonprofits in 24 hours and this site is the directory of them and if you keep scroll so so first of all you
171. 32:48should go check out these gpts every one of the gpts on this list is like you know for a nonprofit most of them were made in this
172. 32:58event and if you keep scrolling all the way to the bottom here's the document that we used to teach people how to make gpts right
173. 33:08so it's an eight-step process and the first step is this little piece of text right here you fill in the the nonprofit name and
174. 33:18the nonprofit website into that two sentence prompt and that makes your GPT seriously like that's the sum
175. 33:28total of what it's what's required to make a GPT and and you could probably do it with less than that but that's what we
176. 33:35taught um and then basically all the rest of these things are just making it better and more robust and safer and all
177. 33:43that sort of [ __ ] and so literally dude Todd Todd Todd listen Todd Todd uh but Kyle uh I I I appreciate your enthusiasm
178. 33:54for gpts but uh I I don't know if you knew this this uh I'm not very technical I'm what you would call a a computer
179. 34:01phobe it's okay Todd Todd Todd just go to chat GPT go to chat GPT where is it where's my chat GPT hang on go to chat JP did I
180. 34:17not sign in oh I did and then you're going to go to you have to have chat GPT 4 to be able to make one and you're going to go to explore
181. 34:25gpts and when you go there that's that's what they call the GPT store it's kind of a joke as a store but you can find
182. 34:32other things there but in the upper right hand corner you click create boom and that's it you fill in that little
183. 34:40sentence we have at the bottom of that page right there you hit return and you've built the GPT done and then so you build it over here
184. 34:48you like put in that sentence here and it it will create your GPT there and then you just basically follow what it
185. 34:54tells you to do and you follow our instruction and seriously within 15 minutes you'll have built a GPT that will look up all
186. 35:04the information about a website for a nonprofit in the case of what we did um and then you can ask questions about it
187. 35:12and then we even put in a thing at some point in the conversation it'll do a call to action for you to donate to that
188. 35:20nonprofit all right so just go do that all right so back to this list do you think open AI gpts will be
189. 35:30absorbed into shared with co-pilot gpts I think I think they're interchangeable but I don't know how you
190. 35:45would get to co-pilot gpts so they're both built on top of GPT 4 Microsoft is calling them co-pilot gpts they're not not calling them
191. 35:57co-pilots which is what they originally called them so we don't the answer is we don't know right now but I would think so yes
192. 36:05I don't think they're going to be absorbed into I think they're going to they're going to both live in distinct
193. 36:16ecosystems actually it's a really good question now now that I'm thinking about it now that I'm thinking about it I bet
194. 36:28huh I bet if you pay 20 bucks a month for co-pilot Pro you cannot see regular gpts that's my guess I finally got a GPT
195. 36:42I made work out of the gate for call-in radio show for me as Wolfman Shack that's awesome um anyway back to this list
196. 36:58okay so if you pay the 20 bucks a month for chat GPT 4 which I recommend you do the the only people that I would say I do not
197. 37:08recommend this for is if you can't if you really can't afford the 20 bucks a month don't spend it if you can if you
198. 37:14can give up you know your couple of Starbucks a month I think it's I think it's the best investment in software right now now I
199. 37:24wouldn't pay for the full year I'd just go month to month cuz there's too much coming but what you get with this is you
200. 37:31get a you know sort of a 10x increase in quality of writing and quality of coding and things like that like it's
201. 37:40just it's just a much better tool than 3.5 you get internet access with Bing it's also its core data is updated to April of
202. 37:522023 um plus it's connected to Bing you get this thing called code interpreter which if you don't know is absolutely
203. 38:01insane it does Advanced Data analysis for you it it writes and executes its own python code on your behalf it's got
204. 38:10a thing called GPT Vision where you can upload images to it and it can understand them so it can read
205. 38:17whiteboards it can look at pictures and describe them it's just crazy you can one of the excuse me I I ate to recently um one of the
206. 38:31uh one of the really fun things you can do with GPT vision is go find old Civil War letters you know how old Civil War
207. 38:39letters you're like oh it'd be really cool to read those old Civil War letters and then you go look at an old Civil War
208. 38:44letter and you're like how does anyone [ __ ] read this you can't read this like even if you know cursive it it it
209. 38:51Bears no resemblance to how they wrote during the Civil War well chat GPT vision can read cursive Civil War
210. 38:59cursive so you just go upload a bunch of Civil War letters to this thing and then you have it read the letter and you
211. 39:07ask it to tell you the historical context of what the heck they're talking about in the letter and then you have it
212. 39:13make a picture from that battle from the person in the letter and it will it's just [ __ ] crazy and it makes the
213. 39:21damage with Dolly 3 and then you can create and share these things called gpts so I think you should spend the 20 bucks a
214. 39:32month but you have to use it you have to you know you have to say listen am I really curious about this stuff I think
215. 39:39it is just this side of irresponsible for anyone not to be rapidly curious about AI right now what are the advantages of
216. 39:49GPT teams actually I got GPT teams today I have news I bring news from the Hills people look boom okay I'm at chat
217. 40:04J and if I click on my name notice that I have two different accounts now I've got content Evolution so so I'm the chief generative officer
218. 40:16of this organization called content Evolution and so we set up our first team account today and good news here's the news when
219. 40:26when you set up a new team account you can now import your old chat history and your gpts from your personal account you
220. 40:35couldn't do that a week ago so when I saw that I'm like oh let's do it so I'm in and so here it is and I'm I started from scratch and
221. 40:49then when you're here you can say manage your workspace and you know it's got here's members you can send pending invites
222. 41:02um you can look at the gpts that the workspace has created you can sign ownership to the gpts there's analytics there's identity and pro
223. 41:12provisioning which I don't know what that is you can turn on or off the ability to browse with Bing custom actions and
224. 41:24plugins for for the entire workspace um you could say your gpts can only be seen by people in this workspace
225. 41:34so that no one within your team can share things Beyond it um if you do teams it doesn't um it uh open AI doesn't train on your
226. 41:47data let me look at settings who who can who can your chats be shared with how long is the data going to
227. 42:04be kept oh these look like they're Enterprise settings so there's some there's some things that teams can't do but anyway it looks pretty
228. 42:16good and we did the 30 Buck a month instead of doing 25 bucks a month but you pay for the whole year we did 30
229. 42:25bucks a month where you go month by month just because you know how do you share a GPT so sharing a GPT is pretty
230. 42:38easy so if I'm in so this is this is the first little test GPT that we made called Puppy Picasso it it makes create
231. 42:45an image of a playful puppy it was funny so I'm setting up this thing I'm the chief generative officer for this thing
232. 42:51called content Evolutions big Brainiac organization with with lots of smart people in it including Cindy [ __ ] who's
233. 42:58an a regular here um and so the first GPT I make it I put in the description I want a GPT that makes pretty pictures of
234. 43:08puppies and Kevin Clark was like yeah that's a good first gbt to start with so anyway so let's let's let's click a link
235. 43:16here and make a picture of a playful puppy that was the sum total of the prompt by the way I want a GPT that
236. 43:25makes pretty pictures of pretty pictures of puppies and chat GPT Call It Puppy Picasso there's a delightful image of a
237. 43:38playful puppy all right so how do you share this so what you do so there's there's a couple of things the in the
238. 43:46upper right hand corner there's the share icon oh sharing conversations with images is not yet supported but let me
239. 43:53let me go show you how this actually works uh oh interesting so earlier today I assigned ownership of this GPT to
240. 44:10Kevin I'll just go do it with another one of mine over my personal account okay we'll do the candy critic I think
241. 44:16this is mine yeah so you go edit GPT and then in the upper right hand cor so when you create a GPT you create it
242. 44:25here here and then you know you play with it here and test it and then in the upper right hand corner it's got this save button and

259. 48:01us and we each wrote a chapter we each wrote a an essay for this book and part of the convention was we wanted
260. 48:15we wanted to write a book in a month and we did or like five weeks I think and what we did was um we each Ed chat GPT to outline and
261. 48:32write our first draft of our first chapter and then we went back and rewrote them and like what what I learned doing this project is
262. 48:47that chbt was was a lot less it was a p you'll enjoy this chat was a lot less magical when I actually tried to do something real with
263. 49:01it so what I did was I took a transcript of a talk that I gave and I said hey chbt write me a chapter of a book based
264. 49:10on that talk and it did that really well like it outlined it really well and my first sort of glancing read of it was like oh this is really
265. 49:19good but it like it kind of skipped over all the detailed stories and just went with the sort of highlevel
266. 49:30[ __ ] and then when I started to go in and add my stories it was like it was repetitive and it was super boilerplate
267. 49:39generic cuz I didn't take I didn't take time to do the the first draft of this thing well like I didn't prompt it well
268. 49:46here's the deal with chat GPT if you prompt it for [ __ ] it will return the favor if you give it shitty prompts it will
269. 49:56give you shitty writing so anyway so but anyway that's done and I'm really happy with the chapter I I ended up

329. 1:00:49GPT what are we on chat gp4 yeah we're on chat gp4 so here's how large language models work and why they hallucinate and
330. 1:00:57how they work so GPT stands for generative pre-trained Transformer the generative means it's generating original content it's not
331. 1:01:10copying and pasting pre-trained me means it's been pre-trained on the internet and Transformer is the technology that was
332. 1:01:20used the large language model is is what they call these things also so like it's lots and lots of language and then there's this thing
333. 1:01:31called the latent space and the latent space is um here let me make this bigger let
334. 1:01:46[Music] me um so the latent space is think of this as um just like an XY like this is like a 2d XY plot right where every one of
335. 1:02:01these dots has a point a vector which is its point in this two-dimensional space and then you see these little clusters
336. 1:02:10and these clusters are groups of words that mean the same [ __ ] so if you have the word dog the word dog might be in this blue area and
337. 1:02:20it means like you know the thing with fur on it that sings with you at night and then you could have the word dog
338. 1:02:25that means that guy did his girl wrong and and that's in this cluster of terms for guys that did their girls wrong
339. 1:02:33right whatever that might be so all of these little dots represent words now this is dramatically oversimplified the
340. 1:02:39real latent space is trillions of points in a thousand Dimensions literally not two three four five Dimensions thousand Dimensions it's
341. 1:02:49crazy so the way this stuff works is when you type in a prompt it creates a mathematical probability of a single point in that
342. 1:03:01trillion Point cloud of dots mathematical dots so if we type in the prompt the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy
343. 1:03:12blank as our own large language models we will go dog but how chat GPT does it is it will kind of deselect all the
344. 1:03:22stuff that's not in the right area and then within the right area there will be one point in space that's got the highest
345. 1:03:30probability of being the right point in space and then depending on how they program it they got a thing called
346. 1:03:37temperature which says you know I'm always only going to pick the most probable one or I'll pick you know one
347. 1:03:43of the possible ones and that's how it gets creative and then that most probable point is represented by this big long
348. 1:03:52string of numbers which is literally that location in Vector space it doesn't know what word it is that long number is
349. 1:04:01associated with a word so what the system does is puts that word in your sentence but it doesn't know what word
350. 1:04:09it put in there and so when it writes you this big long thing it has no idea what it wrote It's a calculator it's a
351. 1:04:18probability engine it's all it is now that's all it is but it's so sophisticated that it occurs to us that it's like this
352. 1:04:28magical sensient being it's not sent it's just a calculator future systems may be more aware of what they say and
353. 1:04:36at that point you know things are up for debate but right now no okay so how do the pictures work very similar but you still have this large
354. 1:04:47language model but the large language model is now paired with an image model and the way the image models work
355. 1:04:55is you take what started as an original image and then they use a noising algorithm to noise that image so you
356. 1:05:03take what was an image and you turn it into this kind of random stochastic noised blob and then tied to this blob were a
357. 1:05:16bunch of words so the images were tagged so this might have had cliff and tree and illustration and Japanese and
358. 1:05:23whatever were the things that might have described that image are associated with this blob of pixels and then based on your prompt the
359. 1:05:33large language model figures out you know what the words mean and then and then points you to um these random noise
360. 1:05:43images that are also in Vector space so similar kind of vector space um if we type in the prompt cat on a desk
361. 1:05:54what the what the combination of the large language model and this image database does is it says okay here are
362. 1:06:01all the the the Blobs of pixels that have the the tag cat and then here are all the Blobs of pixels that have the tag
363. 1:06:13desks and then it takes a bunch of those cat images and a bunch of those desk images and it averages them together into a single noisy image
364. 1:06:24and then they use the same algorithm that made the images noisy to denoise it over like 30 or 50 or 70
365. 1:06:34steps and so it starts out as this noisy amalgamation of images and then denoises it until finally you have a picture of a
366. 1:06:43cat on the desk but again it's generating it from nothing because it's it's basically mashed hundreds if not
367. 1:06:52thousands of these images together into a single noised image and then it denoises it so again it has no idea
368. 1:07:02what's actually in this image and so if it noised together some hands that looked like this that's why you got
369. 1:07:09that now as they fine-tuned and trained these models they've put more hands in there so it I guess it better
370. 1:07:16understands how to deal with hands so that it doesn't quite do that Madness but that's why it doesn't these do not
371. 1:07:24know what they're doing and that's why they hallucinate and that's why they um make weird images so make sense all

415. 1:15:01rater he's with the marketing AI Institute it's been around for five years the marketing AI Institute has
416. 1:15:07been around for five years chat GPT has been around for a year what does Paul know that nobody else knew well he started paying
417. 1:15:17attention to this stuff back when gpt2 was a thing and he said I have a feeling this stuff's going to have an implication on

419. 1:15:32going and then chat jpt came out and he's like yeah I made the right move follow him follow Ethan mullik
420. 1:15:40Wharton business school Professor so so step one get curious about this [ __ ] and then go down through this list and and
421. 1:15:48play with every tool on this list but Kyle I don't how many of them are free lots of them are are free uh how many of
422. 1:15:54them are hard to learn I don't know go play like like they change all the time just play it doesn't matter if you if

429. 1:16:51share it in the workroom in the in the lunchroom at work but Cal people are going to say I'm a weirdo talking about
430. 1:16:57this AI stuff they already don't like me talking about it [ __ ] them talk about it anyway because I can
431. 1:17:04tell you we're in the middle of a shift right now and and uh Kelly Camp Source Camp um said she's she's feeling the
432. 1:17:11very same thing for most of 2023 most people in my life are really [ __ ] annoyed with

438. 1:18:25literate I mean like you can use chat GPT and maybe God forbid you spent 20 bucks a month to get chat GPT plus and
439. 1:18:34now you can make do images and maybe you've even uploaded a spreadsheet and watched it do some data analysis on that
440. 1:18:42spreadsheet like if you're like that level of AI literate in the next 6 months and you're talking about it
441. 1:18:50sharing what you're learning joining groups like The AI Salon hanging out in channels like this I'm here seven nights a week by the
442. 1:18:59way you think my wife's happy about that no do I does she know that when I get like this I'm doing it anyway yes so she
443. 1:19:09she tolerates it why am I doing this because it's actually important it's really important it's like critically

445. 1:19:29people that use computers 5% are actively using chat

463. 1:22:46assumption that there were people out there that knew more than I did about what to do with this stuff and so I started this group called

465. 1:23:05and they're going to teach me everything and then I then I'll I'll be good cuz I don't they CU they have all the

614. 1:48:32can upload files so if you upload a PDF so let's say I'd written a book about or or there was a series of PDFs that this
615. 1:48:41nonprofit put together about each species of kangaroo and how they were treated and the story of Mary the
616. 1:48:47kangaroo Wrangler right and these all existed as PDFs you can upload those to the knowledge base I think the limit is
617. 1:48:5420 files I'm not sure I think it's 100 megabytes of file and 20 files so you can upload a fair amount of data and
618. 1:49:01then in your prompt you can say use the uploaded PDFs as the primary knowledge base for this and by the way that feature
619. 1:49:13alone prior to November of 2022 or 23 last last November you had to use this thing called Lang chain if you wanted to chain train chat
620. 1:49:25GPT on your own data in any way you basically had to get a geek who could configure this thing called Lang Lang chain which took data
621. 1:49:37and embedded it and put it into a vector database and you had to have Vector databases and you had to have this and that
622. 1:49:44nonsense and then November 6 Sam mman comes out and he says oh we've got these thing called gpts and I was sitting
623. 1:49:50there like oh this is just like a poot po.com you can make Bots and then he goes we got this button here called
624. 1:49:58knowledge and when you click it and you upload [ __ ] to it it now knows all that [ __ ] instantly so one of the gpts I made I
625. 1:50:09uploaded one of my screenplays from 30 years ago and now it brings my screenplay to life it's [ __ ] Insanity
626. 1:50:14so yes you can upload PDFs to these things the other thing you can do is it's got these capabilities of web
627. 1:50:20browsing image generation and this thing called code interpreter which allows this GPT to write and execute its own python code so
628. 1:50:30let's say you wanted to create a GPT that would allow people to upload I don't know survey data and your GPT will Analyze That
629. 1:50:41survey data and make a nice chart and graph for them for the most interesting Trends in their data you can do that and and then this
630. 1:50:50this bottom thing if you got a little bit of geek in you is you can add an action these are apis so you can connect your
631. 1:50:59GPT to other systems like Google Maps or slack or zappier so these things are incredibly sophisticated if you want them to be but
632. 1:51:13they don't have to be and you put them together by literally talking them into existence can you upload an Excel spreadsheet yes you
633. 1:51:24can make sure so if you if you upload Excel spreadsheets and you want to use that as your data make sure that code interpreter is turned
634. 1:51:35on so that it can do the analysis of it if you need to analyze that data in any way Michael KAC can you have multiple
635. 1:51:42gpts talk to each other like have one GPT that's used kind of like a front end so I I I I haven't built that but some
636. 1:51:52people within the AI Salon have said that they've done that that they've put gpts they've referenced so what you
637. 1:51:59could certainly do is you could create a PDF with like Json data or even a spreadsheet of here's all the other gpts
638. 1:52:07I've got their URLs and their descriptions and then you could say when someone asks a question figure out which
639. 1:52:15GPT is the right one for them to use and then provide the link for that and you could even probably say provide the
640. 1:52:21image and make it a hyperlink you could get pretty sophisticated with it um if you if you can program you can also make
641. 1:52:30the equivalent of gpts in the open AI playground using the assistant live uh uh interface API and in that you can do you can actually
642. 1:52:44have agents that spawn other agents that's what David is working on right now or he was work that's what he
643. 1:52:52was working on two or three weeks ago where you can create effectively a GPT that generates other gpts based on
644. 1:53:01what it needs to do so I have an idea for creating an online tabletop RP RPG that uses that sort of structure
645. 1:53:07absolutely go try to build it and quite frankly Michael I like join the AI Salon go to go to here this doesn't cost

659. 1:55:13about with copyright and trademark and fair use is that the next 20 years the I attorneys are going to be doing a lot of yacht
660. 1:55:23shopping the the IP attorneys are they are so down for AI because they can sue each other from both sides for at least
661. 1:55:33two decades and probably more like five decades there there are kids being born right now grandkids of lawyers right now
662. 1:55:42in the IP space th those grandkids are going to be set they're going to be born into a multi yacht family thanks to the IP and copyright

678. 1:58:25however she I don't know how she got traffic to this thing but she got traffic to it and it gave them $30,000 in affiliate
679. 1:58:34Revenue like so and these things have these things are just janky pieces of [ __ ] right now like the GPT store is laughably bad
680. 1:58:45the gpts are while they're incredibly powerful they are so basic and not thought out
681. 1:59:00and it's very possible that the GPT store becomes like Apple's app store and the early developers in the
682. 1:59:10App Store did very well for themselves and I would argue that anyone building gpts right now that gets into this
683. 1:59:16community and figures out how to Market these things and engage with community and put these things in the world
684. 1:59:21they're going to do very well for themselves so I don't know the person that I yelled at earlier that said you

733. 2:07:13plugins I mean the plugins are still there you can still use them I saw a YouTube video where someone said turn on
734. 2:07:20plugins you know like activate a plugin like instacart make a GPT that uses instacart and then your GPT can use instacart and
735. 2:07:31so I went and I tried it and it said like when I went to run it it said calling generic plug-in and and it
736. 2:07:41didn't call instacart so I don't know if that's actually possible or not it's so it is if you can use plugins inside
737. 2:07:50gpts then I guess that could be cool but they're they're kind of gpts kind of do that I like screaming this is my kind of

786. 2:16:11if what if there is just as plausible a chance that AI actually freeze us to be better humans and reconnect for me there is just as
787. 2:16:26plausible a chance that that happens is that the is that the AI kills us um that certainly doesn't make a very good

789. 2:16:46want to go see the 2our movie movie where the the robots shut down the grid and kill us all so part of it is just
790. 2:16:52that part of it is the the just the fear-mongering from Hollywood part of it is we we're living in at least a decade of
791. 2:17:05anti-science rhetoric in America anyway and so I think there's a a distrust and a fear of high fute in science I think there's also a fear
792. 2:17:18of what it took historically to be in AI it like you actually had to be a mathematician and a brainiac and it
793. 2:17:26helped if you went to MIT and had a PhD and all that [ __ ] November 30th 2022 the launch of chat GPT marks an inflection point where the
794. 2:17:38rest of us get to play with AI generative AI so so chat GPT does for AI and machine learning what the worldwide
795. 2:17:47web did for the internet right the worldwide web made the internet pointand click easy click on a hyperlink and you
796. 2:17:55can use the internet chat GPT type in some words and it does amazing [ __ ] right you don't need to understand data
797. 2:18:06science and you don't need to understand embeddings and Vector space and Lang chains and any of it you just do magic [ __ ]
798. 2:18:22um some of the very early questions I got when I started this channel were well if if the AIS are are doing all this creative stuff isn't it
799. 2:18:33going to make you more creative if the AI is answering all these questions isn't that going to make you more
800. 2:18:39dumb what I've experienced is the exact opposite that AI becomes an amplifier for what I want to do it's allowing me
801. 2:18:47to level up in places I didn't have skills before I didn't have knowledge before and now I don't need to I can just have an
802. 2:18:57idea and having a little bit of AI knowledge not a ton I can take that idea and manifest it in like some tangible form in minutes not weeks
803. 2:19:13minutes and what that does is it gives me confidence to say huh maybe I should take this other idea and try that oh
804. 2:19:22those two ideas now that I see them in the world give me this third idea so I'm finding myself operating at a much
805. 2:19:29higher creative level like my like my brain activity is at is is like [ __ ] pinned because I'm not getting sucked down into the
806. 2:19:39drudgery of having to write the first draft of having to learn how to be an illustrator if I actually want to make
807. 2:19:47that card game that has pictures on it I'm not good at Photoshop maybe I should go take a Photoshop class you know that
808. 2:19:54you know that [ __ ] you do in your life I have an idea for something you're like oh that's good that's a good idea
809. 2:20:02and it's a really good idea you know yeah I should do that you're like but I don't know any friends who are
810. 2:20:07illustrators but I should go learn Photoshop and then you go off and you spend 6 months learning [ __ ]
811. 2:20:13Photoshop only to find out you're not very talented at pictures so so you now how know how to use a tool to make shitty
812. 2:20:25artwork and you're six months down the line and if that idea is still there haunting you you go ah [ __ ] well let me
813. 2:20:32let me put together these cards with these shitty pictures on it and then you show it to some people and you're like I
814. 2:20:37got this idea for a cool card game and they're like why did the picture is that a dog you're like shut up it's an
815. 2:20:45elephant and then you you're just totally demotivated like a year after you had this idea right the idea is like an appendage on your
816. 2:20:55forehead and a year after you had it it's just [ __ ] sitting there and it like died and it's like all depressed
817. 2:21:00now and then it takes you with it that doesn't happen anymore it's like I have that idea and it's like it's out in the world amazing
818. 2:21:16um is it possible that these tools are going to get powerful and get out of alignment is what they call
819. 2:21:25it so so when they when when computer scientists and machine learning talk about alignment what they're talking about [Laughter]
820. 2:21:35is humans have imperatives like we want to live and we want to be prosperous and we want to be healthy and we want to you
821. 2:21:44know love thy neighbor or in this country you know scream at them and call them idiots but you know it's a form of love so we've got our
822. 2:21:56imperatives and then these machine learning engines these these these AI tools also have imperatives if those imperatives are aligned then
823. 2:22:10cool We're Off to the Races if they're out of alignment and the um the AI its imperatives are succeed at all
824. 2:22:21costs and in succeeding at all costs it runs into this thing called humans that says oh yeah you can't succeed at that
825. 2:22:29particular cost that because that's a thing we we like and and this thing's like well no I've got to succeed at all
826. 2:22:35costs and in that case it will just eliminate us right that's the fear that's the movies um there are a lot of really big brains
827. 2:22:48like Andre karpathy who was at open AI left open AI came back to open AI to work on super alignment so Andre karpathy is back at
828. 2:23:00open AI just working on making sure that the tools that they build are aligned with humans so it is possible
829. 2:23:09but when I hear when I hear someone say you know the Bots are going to kill us well what I actually hear is someone
830. 2:23:18going I'm not going to use AI because I'm afraid of it and every piece of evidence I have at this point is that the people that have
831. 2:23:29the balls or whatever the Fe the ovaries the balls are the ovaries to try it get really empowered by it and it's
832. 2:23:40not it's a lot less scary when you use it than when you're sitting on the sidelines when you're sitting on the
833. 2:23:44sidelines you're like H it could kill us and it lies and it's and it's not perfect and it's this and it moves too
834. 2:23:52fast and it's going to take my job and I'm a copywriter and it scares me and it's like and if you if you're just off
835. 2:23:56to the site it seems like this terrifying thing and then the minute you try it and you have your first Kevin McAllister moment which you
836. 2:24:12will you'll have a lot of them but the first one when you and and it's what's funny about AI is it is impossible for me to describe that
837. 2:24:26feeling cuz it sounds like I'm a [ __ ] lunatic and you know if you've been to this channel you know I'm a [ __ ] lunatic
838. 2:24:34but it just sounds weird you're like well but I've used computers all my life like how you're describing it does not
839. 2:24:40jive with what my experience of computers has been I was told that Alexa was going to be this magical assistant and it sucks
840. 2:24:51and I was told that Siri was going to be this magical assistant and she sucks did I invoke her no thank God and then you play with this AI
841. 2:25:04stuff and for the first time in my life I'm interacting with a tool that is as good or better than a lot of the Sci-Fi movies that I grew up
842. 2:25:18with in terms of when they talk to the the computer like I remember watching Star Wars and thinking it's not even possible
843. 2:25:29that you know like a C3PO could exist that could understand all those languages right you saw it and you're like God that's [ __ ]
