25. 6:35know this much about Quantum Computing what's like I need I need a space between my fingers smaller than a quark
26. 6:45like a quantum dot is what I know about Quantum Computing but here's here's a a a factoid that I knew every time you add
27. 6:54a cubit which is a single bit that lives in super position you exponentially increase the error rate in the
28. 7:04system and for 30 years they've been trying to crack Quantum error problems um we're going to need the Multiverse to
29. 7:16handle all these updates no [ __ ] um for 30 years they've been trying to crack the problem problem the error problem so what Willow does
30. 7:31is every time you add a cubit it exponentially decreases the error rate what how did they do that math apparently is the answer brain
31. 7:45brains brain people with large cranial activity that apparently have functioning prefrontal cortexes C cortex ey

33. 8:14solved which which is things like protein folding you know for like Health Care like fixing health care and energy and batteries and all
34. 8:27sorts of crazy ass [ __ ] now that everything's so small it it runs by different rules because of quantum
35. 8:35[ __ ] and then apparently there's all sorts of implications to that we're absolutely [ __ ] in a living in a
36. 8:42simulation this is so so in 2024 the movie Her became became a documentary and then apparently in 2025 The Matrix is going to become a
37. 8:56documentary my brain I'm right there with you I can't I can't I I was just saying this to Brandon before we were
38. 9:04coming on we were SED talking about what we're going to talk about tonight and it's like I don't like where to I don't even know where to

41. 9:38open AI went down when Chad gbt went down my tweet was um was um please don't make me make please don't make me use my brain this is

45. 10:25looks it looks like an engineer had an idea and they're like ah [ __ ] it just launch it everyone else is launching

50. 11:1812 days of shipus was chat gbts in iOS and they seem to coordinate with apple which so so it continued to be the
51. 11:29world's most awkward 12 days of releases right it was still it was Sam Alman and two other guys Engineers clearly uh
52. 11:39wearing ugly Christmas sweaters sitting at the world's smallest table with the Pottery Barn shelves behind them um and
53. 11:46like the one light the one laptop and the one microphone so that n none of that's [Laughter] changed but they did coordinate with
54. 11:58apple because Apple today released um chat GPT within iOS and within OSX um so it's built into 15.2 Ox it's
55. 12:13built into 18.2 iOS you have to have a 15 Pro or higher which I don't so I can't use it on my phone and my work computers and Intel
56. 12:24Mac so I couldn't use it there but anyway it looks pretty slick it's it's it's in there basically it's not fully
57. 12:31integrated but it's it's about as integrated as Google search is within iOS where if you're using Siri and
58. 12:39Siri's too stupid for your question it will say hey do you want to use chat GPT instead it's pretty slick um I just started using Apple
59. 12:48intelligence today yep very cool um yesterday was um what was yesterday canvas they released canvas uh across uh
60. 13:01you can put it in custom gpts I just added canvas to Sin City sipper you'll be happy to know um it's janky it
61. 13:10doesn't work very well from what I can gather right now uh sometimes it uses it sometimes it doesn't like a good GPT it's it's a mess
62. 13:21um and they got rid of that mode that was GPT 40 with canvas that's now gone it's just you can invoke canvas from any
63. 13:29of the models so that's pretty cool um it's nothing new for beta Dev so it was a disappointment yeah but I mean
64. 13:41listen 12 days of releases the like Sam mman said some are going to be stocking stuffers so today was a stocking stuffer
65. 13:48for sure yesterday was a stocking stuffer um you have to wonder did chat GPT go down today because they were
66. 13:58upgrading some [ __ ] for tomorrow maybe um my suspicion is Friday will be the big day but you know we'll see and then
67. 14:07we have a whole another week of this stuff so um Google today announced Gemini 2.0 in typical Google
68. 14:20fashion um they announced a lot and made it completely unclear what's actually live and what's coming soon and what may never be

80. 16:34platform that lets you design proteins and like cure diseases it seems so it looks like it's a platform to democratize um disease
81. 16:49curing I know so nothing about that world and I didn't I I don't have access to the platform uh because it was asking
82. 16:56things like like um you know what university research lab do you work for and I'm like uh maybe I shouldn't be in
83. 17:05here you can program cells yeah cim katkin who's very passionate about this you can program cells I I I just what
84. 17:14what has me absolutely apoplectic right now is I don't know I mean it's just so much is coming so fast part of this is open
85. 17:29AI launching stuff but they're not the only ones launching new things and and like the capabilities are just ratcheting up so
86. 17:38quickly that I that I almost feel like um it's so funny it was about it's about a year ago no it was
87. 17:53longer than that 18 months ago Elon Musk came out and he said um the large research Labs should take a six-month
88. 18:04pause and then the literally the next day ordered 10,000 gpus to make Gro so that was clearly just a transparent I want to slow my
89. 18:17competition down but I almost feel like like okay launch all your ship before the end of the year and then starting
90. 18:26January 1st don't [ __ ] launch it anything like let us [ __ ] deal with what you you've given us um for six
91. 18:34months because I don't know how to keep up anymore like well and I I mean I've talked about this on this channel a lot
92. 18:42that that there's no keeping up and that's fine but it's like I can't even keep up with knowing what's there like
93. 18:49like not not it used to be I couldn't keep up with how to use it all now I got I can't keep up with what is even

105. 21:09experimental 1.5 thing that everyone was all excited about today there's 2.0 but parts of it are there parts of it are not there

108. 21:35should keep the Event Horizon in the mid oh my God I know we're called the salon oh yeah so so there does seem to be some
109. 21:45confusion we heard this in our we put out a a survey for the AI salon so this channel is the AI learning lab it's just
110. 21:53my channel to talk about AI the AI salon is a larger community that is at that address so if you go to the salon. and click join our
111. 22:06community that'll take you to a mighty network based Community where you can um hang out and meet all these people and
112. 22:14and we can collaborate and do all sorts of cool stuff so go do that um go check that out like like I I even had a a
113. 22:26philosophical thing so the when I spoke last night at the ad Club of Colorado um we talked about
114. 22:41wait make it stop at least for a while embrace the Jank so last night we were talking about the future of
115. 22:57work and and you know was like it's like um like where where do you even begin you know we're sitting in a room full of
116. 23:12you know decently high level creative directors and creative Executives and agency owners and there were a couple
117. 23:22of CU Boulder professors there from their uh from their creative from their advertising program and you know some people were
118. 23:35all in on AI some people had dabbled in it and were thinking about it and some people were like AI is stupid you know you know the type arms
119. 23:49crossed um you know and I'm just sitting there like trying to to process in my head what I know is
120. 24:05coming like what I know is coming is a more capable chat GPT not not gp01 like GPT 4 is going to go to 4.5 or
121. 24:20five um okay let's see Source Camp a woman told me yesterday she hated AI gave her my GPT and now she's totally hooked the people that hate
122. 24:34AI the people that hate AI have not used AI I am convinced of that I've been doing this for two years I have not met
123. 24:44a single person that has really used AI that hates it not a single one I've met a lot of people that have mixed feelings
124. 24:52about it but they're like H yeah I got to admit it's pretty [ __ ] cool uh yeah uh it's pretty empowering
125. 25:00uh I'm more creative than I've ever been in my life and it's rekindled my dreams uh from when I was seven yeah yeah that
126. 25:08but I have uh mixed emotions about it that's fine but the people that hate it haven't tried it they haven't they haven't they just
127. 25:17haven't it's amazing so anyway so so it was it was a fascinating fascinating evening and I've had a break
128. 25:29through about how to talk about this stuff and this might be good so any of you that are doing kind of Consulting
129. 25:34Source Camp um any anyone who's doing a lot of I know Silver Fox you do a fair amount of this Vicky you do a fair
130. 25:40amount of this um Brandon um HT does a lot of this the the thing that I that that that I'm I'm coming to is it's some it's a
131. 25:52thought I had about a year ago but I'm I'm returning to it is that everyone this is going to sound super
132. 26:01obvious everyone is somewhere between completely unaware of what AI is and you know not willing to try it and
133. 26:09completely aware of it right and there's there's this spectrum and when you're completely unaware of it or when you're completely
134. 26:17resistance resistant to it you know how to do your work right your work is a particular workflow you know how to
135. 26:24start your day you know how to deal with emails you know how to if if you're a project manager you know how to project
136. 26:31manage if you're an account person you know how to make phone calls if you're a creative you know how to do that if
137. 26:36you're an engineer you know how to do that and and one of the things that I hear that one of the big fears that I hear about
138. 26:48AI is that people take the thing that is the the the the closest to their self-worth right so let's just say I'm a creative
139. 27:01and I and I I'm an illustrator and I say I'm never going to use AI for illustration because illustration is who I am it's where my
140. 27:11value is and I would never use that shitty robot soulless tool to do my thing and I can completely respect that
141. 27:21right like I can completely respect that to the extent that you've got your selfworth rolled up in a discipl
142. 27:30finding a tool that is going to be as good as you or better probably don't give you the warm and fuzzies and so what I find is that
143. 27:41because people make it binary like that they throw out all of AI because of that self-worth part so so here's the kind of thing I came
144. 27:50to in business there's kind of four major wads of activity there's business process right sending emails writing up notes from meetings
145. 28:04scheduling meetings having meetings and there's business product right I interact with clients I deliver a good
146. 28:11or I deliver a service so business process business product and then there's on the creative side creative process and creative
147. 28:22product right and creative process is things like organizing my files and setting up up a meeting and um uh
148. 28:30brainstorming potentially and and and things like that and then there's the creative product is I'm making the
149. 28:36thing so what hit me was if you've got process a lot of the process stuff you're not doing the thing that is core
150. 28:45to who you are you're doing all the activities that allow you to do the thing that's who you are so why not use
151. 28:52AI to automate all that [ __ ] start playing with AI in the things that are far away from your your Core
152. 29:01Essence so have it automate emails have it take notes in your meetings have it right and and when I when I present that
153. 29:09conversation to people they're generally like oh yeah I could do that or even better they're like oh well yeah I
154. 29:15already kind of do that I use it for this and I use it for that and I use it for that but I would never use it for
155. 29:20that like okay so there's your that's your little boundary so keep that sacred piece sacred and then you AI for all the other
156. 29:30[ __ ] like perfectly acceptable strategy right but that's that that's my new insight is if you are someone or if you
157. 29:40know someone who's made this binary Choice AI evil AI not going to take my value right and it's I most of these
158. 29:49conversations are that Primal it's evil why is it evil because I'm valuable and I don't want want to be
159. 29:58replaced I agree with you this is our big conclusion we got to last night our big conclusion people matter and do good
160. 30:10work people matter and do good work everyone in the room agreed that if you use AI in an intentional way and you
161. 30:21like actually curate it and give a [ __ ] about the quality of the work and don't put something out in the world until it's actually good
162. 30:28everyone in the room agreed that yeah that that would be fine but but a lot of people have it in this binary way AI
163. 30:37bad it's only bad if you're lazy with it if you treat it you know anyway so so that was good all right and the
164. 30:49people that hate AI are easier than the ones that don't care I agree with that yeah the the the people that hate AI
165. 30:57when you convert them they become incredible incredibly passionate about it the ones that don't care are tough
166. 31:07because it's a that the the a the apathy around AI is is shocking to me but you know whatever it you know that's why
167. 31:17that's why I have this channel like I don't care how you feel about it just don't ignore it just don't be apathetic
168. 31:24so all right all right all right all right okay let's see um December 27th and 28th it's a Friday and

171. 32:03thing called GPT for good and it was a 24hour GPT buildon custom gpts for nonprofits and this community built 150
172. 32:12custom gpts for nonprofits was awesome she and I are getting together again this year and we're putting on
173. 32:20what we're calling AI festiv us and it's and so it's two full days it's like all day Friday all day Saturday we are
174. 32:26taking we're not doing 24 hours straight like we did last year because that was stupid we're older that was just
175. 32:36dumb um but we're bringing in people from the AI salon and people from our communities um she's got she leads AI
176. 32:44I've got the AI Salon we've got this community we're bringing people who are leaders within those communities to
177. 32:50teach an hour so we're going to have some hangout sessions and then it's just going to be you can learn like one hour
178. 32:57might be learning a mid Journey something one hour might be learning some programming or a no code skill or
179. 33:02automations we don't know what they are yet we're still still putting all the the curriculum together but it's two
180. 33:08full days in between Christmas and New Year so you're not [ __ ] doing anything anyway other than just getting fatter

188. 34:29pasting is so far from what it is what did I see I think it was a Tik Tock video I saw yesterday it was really
189. 34:39good talking about oh it was a writer and it said something like chat PT he he was like a TV writer
190. 34:53right and he had advanced voice on and advanced voice said you know I've been trained on 130,000 scripts 130,000 TV scripts and
191. 35:08the guy sort of asked him like so like are you just copying and pasting things and and chat PT the advanced voice model
192. 35:15actually described really eloquently he goes no you don't understand you don't understand how this works do you he said
193. 35:23if your perception that that I as a large language model are sitting there reading through one script after another
194. 35:30like highlighting words and understanding plot points he goes That's not even close I look at 130,000
195. 35:38documents and I organize the individual words within all of those documents into a semantically clustered mathematical
196. 35:48Cloud I just understand your words and and the relationship to themselves within the context of these 130,000
197. 35:57script RPS and so when you ask for something I just go into this space where all these words are and I put new
198. 36:07ones together like like chat GPT eloquently described the fact that none of those scripts that it was chain
199. 36:15trained on actually still exist inside chat GPT the reason it can instantly recall all knowledge that's put into
200. 36:25it is because it's not not indexing a database it it is semantic clusters of word fragments thousand dimensional space it's
201. 36:40bizarre freaky ass math but it's not copying and pasting all right amazing Graphics look and feel great Good Ju guu I know it's
202. 36:53really good I I I I can I can tell you I don't know if on here tonight um so an and I are putting this together an has
203. 37:03organized a whole slack channel on this she's she has um uh mobilized Suites of people that are doing stuff and
204. 37:12recruiting other people I had one job my job was reach out to the people I know and ask them if they want to teach an
205. 37:18hour and I didn't do it Monday and I didn't do it Tuesday and I was gonna do it today damn it an an sends me a note
206. 37:27uh do you want us to go ahead and reach out to your people I was like yes so I've done nothing on this I'm busy and important uh no I just
207. 37:41yeah it's not good so anyway so thank you to an for being a uh she's a beast she's awesome an also just spoke there was a
208. 37:49big um uh political thing up in Oregon where she lives and she actually spoke on behalf of the AI on to some Oregon um
209. 38:00AI legislators Senator and a couple of Congress people or assembly people I forget what they call them um and
210. 38:06apparently did did just absolutely [ __ ] awesome so I don't know if you're on the on the call and but but great job great job fantastic all
211. 38:20right I I I am I am um I I am reluctantly I I am reluctant to get into any tactical details because I just
212. 38:34don't even know where to begin here's another thing we're going to do tonight though um so one of the things
213. 38:42that I'm starting to have some clarity I've been thinking a lot about what do I want to do with this channel in 2025 and
214. 38:49it's it's possible that Tik Tok goes away so I'm glad we have these other channels that we can we can share this on um I want to shift away
215. 39:01from just talking about tools and and what I want to shift toward is figuring out like like where's the beginning point in a given industry
216. 39:13right where where no one's using Ai and then what are some what are some projects that you can take within that
217. 39:19industry and put some AI tools together to do some projects and so think multi you know multiple tools single industry single
218. 39:29project um and so I was talking about that today with Jim Ross of Three Mile Storage and he said oh I've got an idea
219. 39:35I want to make a mascot for my business so one of the things I want to do tonight is just like I I don't I've never made a
220. 39:45mascot I don't know how to make a mascot I but I know how to use enough AI tools that we can probably figure some [ __ ]
221. 39:51out and so what I want to do is I want to take you know a project like that and and just make one and and figure out
222. 39:59what that looks like I don't I don't know what it looks like um it there there's so many ways you can attack it
223. 40:06um so so we'll do that tonight and then we will get into a little bit of uh a little bit of wait we're making a plan
224. 40:13oh no don't don't get me wrong Source camp this is still the AI learning lab this is still Chad add okay here's the difference Kelly um
225. 40:24most nights it is just pure chaos tonight I kind of sort of have an idea but it's not been any more thought out
226. 40:32than that make no mistake There Is No Agenda oh good lord good people all right from Ocean on your opinion what's the
227. 40:48distance between us as society and AI how long oan always ask the the these great philosophical deep deep
228. 40:58questions um what's the distance between Society us as society and AI how long will it take us to fully adapt to
229. 41:06it do you wait last do you do you think hate or ignore it will stop no the only thing that would stop AI in my opinion
230. 41:22is um a massive solar flare that wipes out all of our computers um or EMF weapons that do the same EMF I think EMF electromagnetic
231. 41:37frequency weapons um so long as computers are Computing um I AI is not going away it is it is too powerful um the genie is too far out of
232. 41:52the bottle there's too much open source right now there's too much knowledge about how to do this this right
233. 42:02um so that's that so I think and and that's a big part of my philosophy on this channel is I don't care if you love
234. 42:10AI hate AI are ignorant about AI I just don't want you to ignore it like you can be ignorant about it I know nothing about it you can hate
235. 42:22it I just don't want you to ignore it because the people that ignore it and and the ones that I feel the worst about
236. 42:31are like the the the ones that are sitting back like this just like I will never use that and if they stick with
237. 42:38that conviction they're gonna have their ass handed to them like it's like I just you know it's just going to
238. 42:45be a life of bitterness and and disruption um so I don't think it's going away your question about how big is the distance
239. 42:56between where Society is and where AI is um I think right now we've got some we've got
240. 43:11some some overhang from 50 years of Hollywood telling us that the robots are going to kill us from 30 years of AI really only being
241. 43:27a tool that engineers and mathematicians can do anything with right we've been using AI for decades well we big
242. 43:36corporations have been using AI for decades but it's what they call traditional AI it's not these so traditional AI worked like this you've

255. 45:20declared and that basically means that these machines are Now smarter than most people at most jobs take that in AI in the next three
256. 45:36months will be better than most people at most jobs not just some task within a job the whole job right now is it going to instantly
257. 45:49disrupt everything no businesses take for [ __ ] ever to adopt anything so there's probably going to be a 2-year
258. 45:55period where like there's going to be fits and starts and certain industries get all [ __ ] up and this and
