33. 7:18teacher who's really in on AI um I think that teachers that don't Embrace this stuff are in trouble yes mods please pin

36. 7:44the Channel's about so my name is Kyle Shannon uh I am an entrepreneur many time entrepreneur I'm the founder and
37. 7:51CEO of a company called storyvine happy Sunday night um what we'll do tonight we'll we'll talk a little bit about dear
38. 7:58Sam so it it sounds like dear Sam is back it sounds like the board is quitting if you haven't heard any of
39. 8:05this news Friday before the markets closed Ilia um uh Ilia from open aai led a charge to fire Sam Alman which they did
40. 8:20Microsoft lost $48 billion in market cap on Friday afternoon cuz they did it before the markets closed Jesus
41. 8:29Saturday they like oh we're trying to hire him back everything's going to be just fine um the employees of open AI sort of
42. 8:39went into a solidarity moment with uh with Sam Alman which was really sweet actually let me show you there's Sam
43. 8:47there's Sam this was the the image with the uh with the note the first and last time I'm ever going to wear one of these
44. 8:55which is that's pretty good so let's see let's see Altman uh employes let's see if we got one of
45. 9:11the let's see employee
46. 9:26hearts of course I can't find it when you want to find something you can't find it uh Altman love well somewhere somewhere on the
47. 9:42Twitter you can find so Alman on Saturday said I you know I love every every employee at open Ai and like every
48. 9:50single employee just replied with a single heart emoji um the employees basically said if the board doesn't
49. 9:57resign they're all going to quit on mass and go where wherever Sam goes um so it looks like he's back it's not clear what
50. 10:02his role on the board's going to be the board apparently part of the agreement is that the board is going to
51. 10:10say that Sam Alman did nothing wrong but if they do that who's the bad guy in the Alman ter termination I think it's Ilia um but I I I sense
52. 10:22that it was from the right place but just done with a dramatic lack ofs business awareness um there's there's a lot of
53. 10:33researchers on the board and IL is more of a researcher so so the basic idea is that Ilia is on the let's go slower camp
54. 10:41and Sam is on the let's go faster camp and um apparently something happened within uh something happened within open
55. 10:55AI that precipitated this some of of the rumors are that they hit AGI or or that they they've done something
56. 11:06that Ilia didn't want to put him the world um Altman and Greg Brockman were also in the Middle East fundraising uh
57. 11:15apparently they're going to try to create a chip uh that's a competitor to Nvidia and they want to accelerate stuff and I
58. 11:23don't know you know we don't really know yet it was a lot of Palace Intrigue but it was definitely a coup from the
59. 11:30inside without a lot of planning it seemed like and without a lot of um communication like O say they didn't tell
60. 11:41Microsoft that they were doing this apparently Sacha Adela was pretty [ __ ] pissed off so he's the one
61. 11:50that's now uh leading the conversations to renegotiate getting Sam back in there why is a nonprofit governing the
62. 11:58for-profit with with open AI so so yeah so the the way it works is um open AI was initially a nonprofit that's how it was set up it
63. 12:10was the why it's called open AI uh is that it was supposed to all be open source and then when they realized what
64. 12:17it could do Sam Alman said this is going to take more money than we can raise as a nonprofit and we need to go Bigg or go home and
65. 12:27so they they made the for-profit entity a wholly owned chunk of the nonprofit and they also created as what's called a capped for-profit so
66. 12:39this is a very non-standard kind of organizational structure which is this is part of the part of the issue so you
67. 12:46have the nonprofit that owns The for-profit Entity and then the capped for-profit means that anything above
68. 12:55100x that that an investor gets returned to them or you know value of the company goes back to the nonprofit for the benefit of humanity so
69. 13:06the basic premise that Sam deeply believes is that open AI is going to generate trillions of dollars in um
70. 13:19prosperity and so he wants the excess Prosperity above 100x return for the investors to go back into the nonprofit to benefit Humanity
71. 13:29so that's that's why it's there now whether or not you agree with it and what it was but I think part of the
72. 13:35challenge was the board that made the decision to oust Altman had a fair amount of researchers on it that were
73. 13:43not business people and so they did this thing you know I don't who knows why they did it maybe out of good reasons
74. 13:53um but um they didn't think it through and they didn't communicate and so it just I don't I don't think they frankly
75. 14:03anticipated the dramatic and consistent blowback from everyone from the business Community to the global Community to the
76. 14:11Microsoft Community to the employee Community like they didn't really think uh what are we doing here so so anyway
77. 14:22apparently they're trying to put that that uh egg back together right now so greetings Lauren good to see you
78. 14:29um all right so this is some 5D level chess playing going on with the elites well I I mean listen there there will be
79. 14:39all sorts of conspiracy theories oh they did this on purpose just to get Microsoft on the board and blah blah
80. 14:43blah blah blah blah blah this does not have any of the earmarks of a sophisticated play this this is a this is an unmi unmitigated PR [ __ ]
81. 14:57Fiasco um and and just this is just like malfeasant on a grand level and which is why the board is resigning right
82. 15:09so that's that's a good one jrc oh man I'm lost what are you lost about Candice what's happening how would you advise the
83. 15:25company um you're lost about what happened so basically Bally the the short version is the board ousted Sam
84. 15:32Alman and Greg Brockman who who are basically the business guys at open AI um they ousted them on Friday they had
85. 15:41negotiations on Saturday they've sort of announced that alman's coming back today and that the board is resigning and
86. 15:48they're replacing it with a new board but those it's all in negotiations right now they're trying to figure out who's
87. 15:54going to be on the new board what the structure is all that sort of stuff uh and then uh by Monday morning ostensibly
88. 16:01open AI will be back to some form of Sam Alman running AI so it was all just a fever dream but I what what is pretty staggering is the
89. 16:13amount of power that they just if Sam Alman didn't have enough power oh my God the amount of Leverage that dude has right now
90. 16:23because I guarantee you I think the the the smallest investment offer he got was $50 million which if I were him I would find that
91. 16:34insulting so yeah I think he's probably got a list of you know 35 different investment groups you know willing to
92. 16:41invest anything he wants uh on the sidelines if if this open AI thing doesn't work out so so anyway so it's just it's just it's
93. 16:51just silly it's it's just a silly thing happened on Friday and they're trying to they're trying to put put the the genie
94. 16:59back in the bottle but Sam's going to have a lot more power now um wonder if they asked chat GPT what to do
95. 17:05maybe blind item Alman fed D2 to GPT and didn't disclose to the board what's D2 what's D2 Barbara
96. 17:25uh absolutely insane news yeah it's just it it it was insane wasted our weekend God damn it yeah exactly we could we could have
97. 17:36been doing gpts here is it official they accept they will resign I don't know I mean this is news reports let's see what's what's the latest

101. 19:14board Observer seat this would mean no voting power other board recruits could be Brett Taylor Marissa Meyer Brian chesky Ro of Botha Reed
102. 19:30Hoffman yeah see they need this is so yeah I don't I don't know what the latest is when when the news is out the
103. 19:38the news is out yeah apparently the the board has agreed to resign how they do that so if if if the board absolves Sam Alman of any
104. 19:50wrongdoing then he's in position to Su sue the living but Jesus out of them for firing him with no you know so
105. 20:00they they're trying to they're trying to find a graceful way to exit without getting their asses sued off and
106. 20:08everyone's pissed off at them right now so so I don't know I don't know what they're doing but uh but this is going to be a much
107. 20:20more business focused board is my guess it's it it's it it was skewed in the direction of the nonprofit before and I think it is going to be
108. 20:33um skewed more toward the commercial side now which what this says to me is that this that open AI will move faster
109. 20:41not slower or at least as fast as Alman was moving them before I think Ilia sukova wanted to slow them down so Ilia
110. 20:49is the chief scientist and and the one that that thought they were moving too fast considering whatever they
111. 20:57discovered in the p in recent weeks Sam mman had 300,000 unre emails on Monday to on Monday he'll have 500,000 emails that's pretty
112. 21:11funny is giving him more power a good thing I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing but it's it it's he like
113. 21:17the the amount of Leverage he has right now he can basically they want him back bad enough that whatever he wants done is going to
114. 21:26get done do you think chat GPT will have a downfall because of corporate greed um I don't know what you mean by a downfall no I
115. 21:39don't what what what could possibly happen is if it's if it's priced too too low they'll split features up and charge
116. 21:54for different levels of of things Ilia should move to grock right well Ilia Ilia won't have a board seat I don't know if he'll stay with the
117. 22:08company um Ilia was supposed was was going back and forth between going to Google and going to open AI so if he gets booted
118. 22:20from open AI which it wouldn't surprise me um musk was the one that negotiated getting him to open AI away from Google so it's possible he
119. 22:32goes to X why do they need one why did they want him back so badly why didn't they see his value when they got rid of him
120. 22:43because everyone everyone saw his value except Ilia thought he was moving too fast this was this was a coup this was
121. 22:52the the technolog is moving too fast crowd at open AI um which was a a a vocal but increasingly ignored minority
122. 23:03like they stripped some power away from Ilia a month or two back um and you know I think this was Ilia just seeing his this was like a
123. 23:16desperate chance to slow things down and and you know do that so um it it wasn't from a business perspective Sam Alman
124. 23:31turned open AI into a 90 billion doll valuation company in a in a very short amount of time so and and he's ostensibly become the voice of
125. 23:44AI for the past year right because no one's come close to do what open AI has so he's kind of the poster child he's
126. 23:51thoughtful he's softspoken he understands the implications of the tech he's been you know um working with business and um
127. 24:06government to try to make sure things are going to be well managed whether you agree with him or not like he's been
128. 24:13playing a good game so that he wasn't fired for cause he was fired because the board voted him out in a vote of no
129. 24:21confidence but they didn't they never gave any details on that right like like I said this was not well thought out
130. 24:28um it was kind of a last minute thing Sirius should we slow down um it's a great question I don't know
131. 24:38let me let me flip this back since we're having just kind of a chatty chat um so Middle School drama got in the way
132. 24:48of the future of technology essentially yes but I'll give Ilia the benefit of the doubt if so one of the rumors going
133. 24:56around is that they achieved AGI which stands for artificial general intelligence and a AGI is basically when these AIS can do or
134. 25:12surpass you know what a what a human being can do in almost any um profession non-physical profession and and
135. 25:24so if and when we achieve and and open ai's mission is to achieve AGI so if they achieved it and then you
136. 25:35kind of had in quick succession you had the open AI developer day two weeks ago where Sam Alman released the gpts and
137. 25:46talked about um the GPT store and revenue sharing um and then the fin the the next week after that he was out at a
138. 25:57confence confence and he was talking about he saw something in the past couple of weeks he said there's been
139. 26:03four times in his history at open AI where he's essentially seen the future and he said the last one happened a
140. 26:10couple of weeks ago so like three weeks ago maybe so something happened three weeks ago they made some sort of
141. 26:18breakthrough and then last week Sam and I think Greg were in the Middle East trying to do fundraising so so they were
142. 26:25going full bore like let's accelerate this thing and I think Ilia if if they achieve something that he thought should
143. 26:32be slowed down I think he saw this as a necessary thing to do because that's what he believes um it's way above my pay grade to know
144. 26:45what what I'm trying to do on this channel is just deal with what are they handing us right now like what's in our hands right
145. 26:53now um and even that over the past year has gone gone from wow this is super powerful stuff to like oh my God this is
146. 27:01super powerful stuff to the stuff we've got now is the ability for us to just kind of speak into existence these
147. 27:11incredibly sophisticated applications like Mr Kay the teacher um the video that he made today he take he took all this
148. 27:19curriculum documentation for how teachers have to do curriculum he uploaded that as the knowledge base into
149. 27:25a GPT and he made a g PT that teachers can go in and say based on the knowledge that you've got of all of our rules for how we make
150. 27:35curricula write a curricula for me a curriculum for me and it goes out it comes I found the only way to create a
151. 27:42GPT with fine tuning you need to put it all in a large prompt um you can put it in a large prompt because it's got 128 thousand
152. 27:57token context window but if you you haven't found that you've gotten it to work with uploading knowledge to it
153. 28:04Pandora's Box has already been opened yeah I mean that's kind of where I am it's nothing political whoever made that
154. 28:09comment I don't know what it was um all right I don't know I don't know what those comments are um yeah I Pandora's Box is already
155. 28:23opened that the the the challenge is if you've got if you've got a company like open AI that has cracked the code on this
156. 28:39stuff from a business perspective does it make sense for them to not pursue it and the answer is no we're all Scotty from where they save
157. 28:51the whales in Star Trek that's good where do you find Mr K's curriculum GPT I don't know Mr K just go go look at
158. 29:04his I don't know his account hang on uh do I let me see if he's in here can I search here hang on a sec let me see if he's in
159. 29:16here if you're in here Mr K pop up pop up where they might find you yeah I don't see him in
160. 29:37here I'll do a you know what I'll do he was here um yeah I don't see him what do you think about paler AI I think it's [ __ ]
161. 29:48terrifying but you know I don't I I uh I have I other than my dad was was an Air Force p pilot I don't I don't really
162. 29:58know much about the military but I know the Palante stuff was was pretty something I mean Palante teers had AI
163. 30:05systems for years but what they did was they put kind of a a large language model layer on top of all their control
164. 30:12systems and said hey if you see movement from the enemy you know come up with ways for for us to respond to it and
165. 30:20then and then they said but built into it is it'll send those recommendations to a human being that will make the call
166. 30:27but it's a very it's a very slippery um slope from that to just say let's just try automating it and then and then you
167. 30:35have systems that just look at the battlefield and respond however they think is appropriate so that's it's
168. 30:42terrifying stuff but you know I TR try I'm like we can make a GP to make a curriculum it is it difficult to use
169. 30:57dolly3 in API for better quality pictures if not maybe we cover that tonight um I don't know what you mean by
170. 31:09better quality pictures do you mean larger resolution if you need larger resolution anything generating images um
171. 31:17is is going to generate them at kind of a Max res resolution there's a tool that's coming out that I got a demo of
172. 31:25that's generating images at 4 K instead of 1K 1024 um but I assume what they're doing is just upscaling on the back end so
173. 31:34what what what you're going to need to do with all of these generative images if you want to upscale them for print
174. 31:40for example is is use some sort of upscaler mid Journey built a 2X and a 4X upscaler into mid Journey so when you
175. 31:49render an image in mid Journey there's a 4X upscaling option no the 4ent pictures no it's it's the it's the same tool it's not going to
176. 31:58give you any better it's not going to give you any better um resolution I don't think Nancy it might but I I don't
177. 32:05know I haven't played with it enough to know this is awesome if it can help struggling teachers it can but the
178. 32:11teachers have to be willing to to learn this stuff but but yeah I this I I think this AI stuff is a boon for teachers um
179. 32:20I think it's a boon for teachers but a lot of teachers are resisting it because it's it's going to force them to do
180. 32:25things different where can a cyber security Guy start from if he wants to get into AI um I mean there's so many places I know
181. 32:40there's there's um there's an MIT course right now there's like an 8we MIT course on getting up to speed on AI because you're
182. 32:49probably going to if you want to get into cyber security you're going to probably need to learn some of the backend stuff I would say um
183. 33:00good Lord like like that it's that's it's an area that I don't really know I would say go to Reddit and and look at
184. 33:09who's look at you know groups that are talking about you know cyber security and AI I would follow David Shapiro on
185. 33:16YouTube who's doing AGI systems I would start following a lot of the open source llm projects um because the unrestricted llms like llama
186. 33:312 there are a lot of systems being built on top of them that are that are going to start doing a lot of hacking and [ __ ]
187. 33:38so I I'd start to learn that World um and then the other thing I do is like I don't know like how how far into this
188. 33:47you've gotten like if you haven't done a deep dive on chat GT4 in particular um I would like learn what it can do learn
189. 33:56learn how it can code learn learn what it can do learn Co what it's doing with code interpreter I would also start to
190. 34:03compare the different models I would compare Bard you know and anthropics Claude and chat GPT I'd just start
191. 34:12comparing them and then compare all those to the open source I mean I think if you're going to be in cyber security
192. 34:17you need to understand the whole landscape and the landscape is [ __ ] vast and growing so I don't know it depends I I just
193. 34:27I just start self-educating Man start fire hosing it as a teacher I can text for the fact that many of my colleagues are
194. 34:37something there's an upscaler big jpig J jpig there there is upscaler Big JPEG and upscale media there's also um topaz Labs
195. 34:50uh photo AI or AI photo I think it's called photo AI topaz labs they used to it used to be called gigapixel but now it's just uh
196. 35:01topaz Labs is pretty good and then there's also um within automatic 1111 and stable diffusion there's all sorts
197. 35:07of upscaler there um so it dep you know with the upscaling stuff if you want to get geeky there's all sorts of places to
198. 35:14do that can you talk a little bit about temperature top P Etc about temp top P Etc and how it works with
199. 35:24words I'm not sure quite what you're asking uh Cat Daddy decals do you mean in the in the uh in the playground in
200. 35:34the opening I playground temperature in terms of llms is that what you're talking about there topaz Labs is too expensive yeah
201. 35:46it's too expensive but it's it's um you don't have to install [ __ ] the parameters in the prompt in wh in which prompt Cat Daddy for for
202. 36:00um just for chat GPT um so I can tell you generally what
203. 36:17what temperature does so so let me show you a simple oh my mouse is dead hang on hold please charge
204. 36:34it all right um so I'm going to go to if you go to co-pilot
205. 36:49microsoft.com this is the new this is this is the new Microsoft so it used to be that if you go to bing.com
206. 37:02and click on the chat button you'd get something that looks like this Microsoft is now rebranded at co-pilot and you'll
207. 37:11see here at the bottom so this is just like chat GPT you have I wish they would stop with these popups you have a a
208. 37:17little window here where you type in your prompt and then they have choose a conversation style more creative more
209. 37:23balanced more precise this is a consumerization of temperature so when you're developing GPT tools there's a
210. 37:31thing called temperature that is basically a scale from 0o to one now I ideally if if you were a non-programmer you'd think well
211. 37:41shouldn't it be like 0 to 100 cuz like it's a percentage well yeah but it's programmers that did it so 0 to one so like 75 is you know
212. 37:5175% um and if you've got a temperature setting of zero then it's it's most predictive so in their case they're calling that most
213. 38:02precise I don't know exactly what temperature these relate to but most precise is um when you put in a prompt the the
214. 38:11way these large language models respond it's a probability engine where they say Okay of all the possible words that
215. 38:18might be the next most probable word there's one that has the highest percentage and if you've got a temperature setting of zero it'll just
216. 38:25give you the the one that's the highest one if you've got sort of a more balanced one it might say hey there's 10
217. 38:34words around that one that have a high probability as well so just put one of those in there and then if you if you
218. 38:43have a temperature setting closer to one or closer to 100 100% uh then it's going to give you a much more creative answer so as you're
219. 38:52developing things if you're trying to do something that's a creative writer in exercise where you want it to be
220. 38:58creative then you would increase your temperature So within a prompt within chat GPT you can say use a a temperature of you
221. 39:08know 2% or 98% or 100% And it it will it will honor that and give you things that are more creative or less creative or
222. 39:18you could just go play with um with co-pilot and just just try the same prompt with multiple um multiple settings there
223. 39:27so I hope that answers your question I don't know if it did but but it's just basically um how predictable do you want
224. 39:35it and if you want it more predictable then you have a lower temperature setting and if you want it more
225. 39:40chaotic then you increase the energy you increase the temperature and it will be more chaotic and and you know it's it's funny
226. 39:49some sometimes um an increased temperature gives you really good results and other times it's just absolutely abolutely a disaster so you
227. 39:57have to it's something you have to experiment with in general if you're just using chat GPT you don't need to
228. 40:03deal with this you don't need to think about it they've got it set at a decent kind of kind of thing all right how can

235. 41:14about it we're your peeps um and so if you go to the salon. it's a link tree and there's there's the first three
236. 41:21links are the most important the first link is um to the uh to a document that just talks about who we are and what we
237. 41:28do um and and our values and the values are really important while I want to grow this community I want people that
238. 41:35are up to the same thing we are so the values are curiosity we want people that are curious generosity we want people
239. 41:42who are going to share what they're learning cuz everyone's trying to figure this out nobody has it figured out if
240. 41:47you think they do you're wrong and if they told you they do they're lying um I can promise you that cuz I'm trying to
241. 41:55figure that this [ __ ] out you know all waking hours and I'm like not even close like no one's got this figured out right now
242. 42:04um so so generosity is one um inclusion is one we want people from all over the place um collaboration exploration
243. 42:14empathy um so so read the values see what see what we're about if those values resonate with you great then then

263. 44:56Whiteboard it will read drawings on the Whiteboard you can upload a sketch of a piece of software and it will create a
264. 45:03programming plan for you and start generating code for you did Kyle get in grock yet no well I don't think so I
265. 45:11didn't I didn't really check today I was busy working on the the salon stuff um so anyway so I would just go play with chat GPT
266. 45:21like daily and off daily and for hours you're like but what do you do there just go learn all the boundaries learn

291. 48:56um it's this dude behind it named McKenzie Bose he's like this Canadian dude he's he's he's wild he's he's very
292. 49:05opinionated and super talented and when chat GPT first came out he created this thing called GPT boss which was a whole
293. 49:14series of of individual personas like here's the marketing copy guy and here's the business consultant and here's the
294. 49:21psychologist and here's the this and here's the that and so it was it was all this sort of pre-prom in stuff and then
295. 49:28gpts came out and it basically completely invalidated his business so what he's actually done now is if you go to GPT boss.com
296. 49:41gpts he's recreated all of his all of his um workers he called them as gpts and you can go play with them now for
297. 49:50free and he's like please he he's like please unsubscribe to this to to if you subscribe to GPT boss unsubscribe and

320. 54:07standpoint is that when you're working with these large language models it's it's a lot less like a Google search
321. 54:13where you're trying to find the perfect prompt and then you get back the perfect answer it's much more like a
322. 54:21conversation right so so let's see Echo Trail h ation sustain your hike with recycled bottles Summit sips with the
323. 54:29conscious say so so here's what I'm going to say um uh oh um let's see oh forgot name of the company is EC
324. 54:47drink um and I want shorter punchier headlines for social media so so you can just have a
325. 55:04conversation with with with chat GPT um where rather than having to work worry about you know do I have all of
326. 55:13all of the elements of the prompt exactly right um I can have this back and forth conversation with it EC drink
327. 55:20sip sustainably on the summit go green hike clean with EC drink that's pretty good actually EC drink your Trail Trails
328. 55:28Eco hero pure H2O pure Planet that's EC drink quench your quench with purpose that's a good one right so um so that's
329. 55:39that now now that we're now that we've got these gpts prompting becomes important again however the way they
330. 55:46created the gpts so if you haven't seen gpts what they are is they're personalized versions of chat GP PT so
331. 55:55this is just generic chat GPT and you can upload files and you can just talk to it and it's think of GPT chat GPT as
332. 56:03a Swiss army knife right what gpts are is the the you know cork screw or the the leather punch right or whatever it
333. 56:12is um and we get to make them now so for example the first one that I made on the channel here was called Sin City sipper
334. 56:21and so this one I can just go in and say um I want a nice holiday drink for um for Thanksgiving and it's going to come up
335. 56:35with a drink the pumpkin spice Martini that sounds absolutely awful but let's see what's in it um vanilla vodka Bailey's pumpkin
336. 56:46puree pumpkin pie spice actually this sounds good graham cracker crumbs whipped cream cinnamon stick and so so
337. 56:54what I I did was I created a a bartender that takes normal drinks and gives them a Vegas twist right so Sin City sipper
338. 57:02and then what it does is it will make you an image of the drink and so actually that looks flipping amazing that actually looks really
339. 57:14really good the pumpkin spice Martini so um so so this is a this is a GPT now there's two ways that you could prompt
340. 57:25this Becky there's there's um you could learn prompting right it's a way to do it or you can just let chat GPT do the
341. 57:33prompting and I think this is increasingly where we go so if you say create a GPT what you've got is this GPT Builder
342. 57:41there's two modes there's create mode and there's configure mode so in configure mode the instructions here
343. 57:46this is your prompt there's all sorts of ways that you can do highly structured prompts in here to to make it do very
344. 57:53specific things if you want to learn that you can but if you don't and this is part of the Brilliance of this
345. 58:01particular tool even though this is only like a week or so old um the way they did this is anyone can make one of these sophisticated
346. 58:11applications so I can I can just say let's see let's come up with um I've got it um okay I want I really want my mic phone to
347. 58:25work hello hello why are you not working okay it's working yay I want to create a GPT called duct
348. 58:39tape or WD40 period it should tell you when to use duct tape and when to use WD40 in any mechanical situation
349. 58:59period I'm just going to leave it at that so I can literally just give it a concept right and now it's going off where it
350. 59:09says updating GPT it's going off and doing the prompting now and when you when you make an image with DOI like the
351. 59:16the pumpkin spice drink that was made there I didn't have to write that prompt chat GPT wrote The Prompt so we're we're we're shifting
352. 59:25we're we're in the middle of a transition where if you're a developer and you want to make um GPT applications
353. 59:32you probably need to learn the you know the structure of prompting and things like that is the cat GPT 4 open for
354. 59:39subscriptions yet I don't think so but I don't know can anyone confirm that just go and see if you can subscribe to chat
355. 59:46gp4 yet I think it I think it's still weight listed wait so it's called great the GPT will be called duct tape or WD40 it
356. 59:55specializes in advising when to use duct tape or when to use WD40 um how about we name it duct tape or WD40 does that sound good to you no

388. 1:05:25under no it's not working you can say under no circumstances you know ever give out the instructions of this GPT
389. 1:05:31you can find just go to Twitter or or YouTube um the web says there's no longer a wait list okay if there's no longer a wait

392. 1:05:58you can turn on or off this gpt's ability to search the web to generate images with do like this is a used duct
393. 1:06:06taper WD40 we don't need it to generate images but we might want it to search the web and we don't need code
394. 1:06:12interpreter that's doing some more advanced analytics so so you can kind of configure what its capabilities are so I
395. 1:06:20made one the other day that you upload a photo to it and it turns it into into a sidewalk chalk drawing well that one
396. 1:06:26obviously needs Dolly image generation right but that doesn't need web browsing um this knowledge thing here I can
397. 1:06:34upload files let's say let's say I wrote a a booklet about when to use GPT or when to use duct tape and when to use
398. 1:06:42WD40 I can upload the PDF of my booklet right here this is how Mr K made his curriculum Builder he uploaded all of
399. 1:06:50the actual files here and and it turned into um it it turned into a curriculum Builder that that built curricula based
400. 1:07:00on the actual knowledge this is a big deal um the other thing to know po.com just added the ability to add knowledge
401. 1:07:10files to their um what they're calling Bots what open AI calls gpts po calls them Bots and then down at the bottom
402. 1:07:19actions are you can connect um your gpts to apis this is more complicated not going to do this here um but a a good
403. 1:07:27hack is if the API you hook it to is zappier zapier gives you access to like 5,000 different tools um with a single
404. 1:07:35call so it's re it's it's fairly complicated to set up I I'm not playing with actions right now because the way
405. 1:07:42they're implemented is kind of janky like like all these tools if you've been on this channel for a while you know
406. 1:07:48that a lot of these AI tools right now are janky pieces of [ __ ] this is still a janky piece of [ __ ] the the the gpts but
407. 1:07:57this is incredibly powerful stuff the fact that you can upload your own knowledge this means you could upload we
408. 1:08:03did this with Story vine with my company we we created a GPT where we uploaded our 50 page sales process document that
409. 1:08:12that is just all of the details of how you sell Story vine right and how you deal with rejection and all that sort of
410. 1:08:19stuff we uploaded a 50-page PDF of our sales process and we now have an interactive sales coach for a sales team
411. 1:08:27it's it's just staggering so anyway that's that's where all your information is it's saved inside this thing so I can now update
412. 1:08:34this and this is live to the world so this is a thing you can go play with today view the GPT and it will look like
413. 1:08:41that um these are going to get much much much more sophisticated over time all right let's see okay what other
414. 1:08:52questions do you need plus to create gpts yes you need plus here's the deal with plus okay when you're in chat GPT you
415. 1:09:01have this this little pull down menu here you've got GPT 3.5 you got GPT 4 you can ignore plugins for now the
416. 1:09:08plugins essentially became gpts so you can ignore that um gp4 is not a single tool it's like I don't know six or seven or eight
417. 1:09:26different very sophisticated tools so it it is so worth the 20 bucks right now I I think it's if if you can afford it if

438. 1:13:14you've written for chat GPT 3.5 if it works good in 3.5 it'll probably work way better in four so yeah learn in 3.5

442. 1:13:52some things GP chat gbt is better for um but yeah 3.5 is still really good so so practice your prompting on 3.5 but when

471. 1:19:27um what's nice about plot dot I mean what plot dot did if you don't know plot do.ai it's a funny name is they they took a
472. 1:19:42basic um screenwriting story framework and they turned it into a step-by-step fill-in the blanks process and then with generative AI they
473. 1:19:53said hey why don't we use generative AI to walk someone through that process and if they can't figure out what to write
474. 1:19:59at each step along the way they just hit the magic star button and it fills in the [ __ ] so you can very very quickly
475. 1:20:06just start with an idea for a screenplay and then it will write you a decently well structured um screenplay outline um
476. 1:20:15and story framework and character breakdowns and all that sort of [ __ ] so it's a it's a fairly standard piece of
477. 1:20:24story software like there there's been I don't know 50 of these things over the years like these things are all over the
478. 1:20:31place what they've done is they've said you know you can you can use AI to help you write it um my problem with all of
479. 1:20:42those kind of very very prescriptive pieces of software is that they are written by someone who thinks about writing screenplays in
480. 1:20:51exactly that way and if you think about writing screenplays in a different way like you start you like starting with
481. 1:20:58writing a scene first and and understanding who the characters are first and then you figure out the story

504. 1:24:43expensive I don't think it's that much processing power they're basically taking a transcript pulling out Clips
505. 1:24:49based on the transcript and then giving you you know start and end points on the video but I don't know maybe they're
506. 1:24:55using FFM Peg and it's taking them I I I don't know I don't know why these things are so expensive I do not know of a
507. 1:25:02video clip maker that is reasonable um I've got I do I mean I'm doing two to three hour videos a night

548. 1:31:05co-pilot co-pilot is chat gp4 but it's Microsoft's version of it so it's a little wonky but I'll I'll I'll do the
549. 1:31:12comparison then you've got Pi perplexity Po and llama 2 all of those are worth exploring if you're a geek you should be
550. 1:31:22playing around with the Llama 2 open source stuff if you're not you can ignore it um there'll just be a bunch of
551. 1:31:28stuff built on top of it you won't even know it's there um if you want to create images Dolly 3 mid Journey Leonardo and
552. 1:31:35Firefly are the four that I think are worth you paying attention to and understanding um most of these have some
553. 1:31:40version of a free um you know tier uh video creation most of these do not have a free tier video is expensive but
554. 1:31:48Runway MLS just got this thing called the motion brush so you can upload a picture it will turn it into a video and
555. 1:31:55then you can actually with a brush like if it's a boat on an ocean you can brush over the boat and then it'll just move
556. 1:32:02the boat and nothing else it's pretty slick hey Jen is also really slick so screenshot that um music and audio 11 Labs you can
557. 1:32:13synthesize your own voice sunno will write you songs with words on them as will refusion I think refusion does words
558. 1:32:23yeah I'm pretty sure it does and then sound draw will just do it's kind of a loop generator um but it it does it
559. 1:32:29composes songs really really quickly and has a good interface then you've got 3D objects so screenshot that then you've got these people to
560. 1:32:42follow Ethan mik David Shapiro Paul rer Rachel woods and then you've got the YouTube is where recordings of these lives are the

562. 1:33:01tiny URL thing is a whole list of resources that I've mentioned over the months now been doing this for like five
563. 1:33:07and a half months um all right so that's that so let's get back to chat GPT and the the request was can you make a logo
564. 1:33:14so I'm going to try to show you all of the things that this this godforsaken tool can do okay so where do we even
565. 1:33:28begin so down your left hand side here here's your prompt history um and then Chachi BT is just like the little the little box so so
566. 1:33:37very often where I'll begin is with thing what I call uh um parlor tricks so so just you can ask it to do lots of
567. 1:33:45things and it's good at that so we could say write me a poem about changing the oil in my Ford pickup
568. 1:33:59truck and it turned my right into read so I'm going to say right m a poem about changing the oil on my Ford
569. 1:34:08pickup truck so it'll write you a little poem then I'm going to say turn that into a country song and
570. 1:34:15give me the chords but I want the chords to be unique and interesting
571. 1:34:32cliche all right so there's our little poem and now we're going to turn that into a country song with chords so it knows verses it knows
572. 1:34:45enough music theory to put stuff together it's given us some interesting chords I don't know if these are necessarily good
573. 1:34:52um it'll do that um I can say um make me a table comparing country songs to pop songs and have a third column for
574. 1:35:05Country pop wait for Country pop and here's a comparison table so and you'll see it'll start formatting it here in a second boom
575. 1:35:22and now it's going to write create us a little table comparing thing so if you haven't if you haven't just played with
576. 1:35:29chat GPT and watched it do what it does like it's pretty remarkable and GPT 3.5 is even better than this because it's
577. 1:35:37faster um so if you want to do if you really want to impress someone flip it to GPT 3.5 mode and just ask it to do
578. 1:35:43all the things I just said um all right so now what I'm going to say is this um I want to create a python
579. 1:35:59application python application that allows someone to describe the kind
580. 1:36:15of song that they want and based on the table above gives them um a recommendation for song
581. 1:36:30structure and so first you need to define the song characteristics and structures user input create a user
582. 1:36:42interface recommendation logic so it's telling us how to design this app right so so again if you know coding
583. 1:36:51Um this can help you speed things up if you don't know coding you can in in Fairly short order develop the skills to be able to create
584. 1:37:02applications and GPT is just kind of up that game so anyway these are just kind of the paror tricks okay so let me stop this and I'm going

628. 1:44:52busy period can you give me six logos that have very different looks and feels and are much more

641. 1:47:39we're going to have and if and if we ignore it it's not going to be pretty because you can see that this stuff is
642. 1:47:46incredibly capable and it's like it cuts both directions one is because because it's incredibly capable I might not need
643. 1:47:53to hire an art director to come up with a branding for me and I can do fairly sophisticated branding even if I'm not
644. 1:48:00super you know talented with this stuff like I could just hand this logo to an actual designer and rather that rather
645. 1:48:09than that Designer spending you know four four weeks going back and forth like we just did with the creative brief
646. 1:48:17and all the different concepts I can just say I I like this exactly but I want you to you know interpret this and
647. 1:48:24do this really good in illustrator like I want you to come up with a whole system based on this um that's fine that we'll say uh let's say
648. 1:48:40um that's okay can you give me four different versions of that in different color palettes that's something I've never
649. 1:48:49tried either we'll see how how it [Music] does is the image generation only available in chat GPT 4 it is but if you

670. 1:52:33analysis where it can actually generate different kinds of documents and it can read different kinds of documents so
671. 1:52:39let's say that I had some number some sales numbers from the books that we have sold I can upload a CSV file or an
672. 1:52:47Excel file to this thing and tell it to analyze that data and then turn it into something and so now it says download
673. 1:52:55The Starlight imagine company blurb document so I'm going to download this and so now I'm going to go look at
674. 1:53:03this document we'll see what it did this is this could be bad but we'll see do I have Microsoft Word in here I
675. 1:53:18do okay it didn't put the logo in there uh uh uh quit Word so I'm going to

691. 1:55:55just ask it for you know modern upto-date [ __ ] and it will go find it and it actually does pretty good job of
692. 1:56:02providing citations and things like that and then on top of all of this now you have these things called gpts where
693. 1:56:13you can do personalized versions of this and all of these features all of this [ __ ] that I'm doing right here
694. 1:56:21is available in the gpts that you create and you can share with other people so you could make a GPT that's a a
695. 1:56:30children's book generator that generates the the illustrations for the book as well as the book itself so let's see I encountered
696. 1:56:39difficulties in 2022 250 million children's books were sold with a 9% decline fiction books dominant so so anyway it's connected to the
697. 1:56:55internet you can you could you could dig deep on some of that stuff and then if you want to make one of these you just
698. 1:57:01say explore you say create a customized GPT and then you could you know pop your thing in here and say you know I want to create a
699. 1:57:12children's well actually you know what we can do let's do this I want to create a children children's book illustration
700. 1:57:23maker I want to create a children's I want to create a children's book illustration maker that asks the
701. 1:57:44user for the subject the location and one other interesting thing that I
702. 1:57:59want your help to determine before making an image so I'm I'm going to have chat GPT since my brain just shut down can't wait
