AI FUTURE: Humans Decide, Machines DO! 🤯

1. 0:01That means we want to empower people broadly. Not see power concentrated of among a few companies, governments, or individuals.
2. 0:10Well, this if I were Elon Musk, I'd read that and say, "Well, then why don't you open source it, you big fat fatties?"
3. 0:17We believe that the safer future is one where power is broadly distributed, so more of the world can participate in
4. 0:22building a reliant a resilience ecosystem. With an asterisk. I don't know what a resilience ecosystem is, but maybe
5. 0:30there's something at the bottom. We're optimistic about AI because we believe it can expand human capability and prosperity.
6. 0:39But, we are also clear-eyed about the risks. Powerful systems must remain safe, aligned with human intent, and subject to human control. Our
7. 0:48mission at OpenAI is to ensure that AGI benefits all of humanity. That means building systems that help people do more of
8. 0:57of what they choose, not systems that replace human judgment about what matters. Look at this. That sentence, I wonder if that sentence
9. 1:07was written in the past 3 days as as a response to Anthropic. That's a that's a direct [ __ ] slap to Anthropic.
10. 1:18That we just read that Anthropic was like, "Listen, the only thing still where we still got an edge here is our
11. 1:25taste. Human judgment is where it's at, but that that gap is closing quickly, so we might not need humans anymore."

14. 1:48they're fighting. Okay, entirely automating everything is not the future we want. It would be unfulfilling and it would be dangerous.
15. 1:56AI should help people pursue their goals, not become untethered from them. There's the great repurpose right there.
16. 2:03As AI systems become more capable, the human role becomes more important, setting direction, making trade-offs,
17. 2:09supplying judgment, and bringing values, taste, care, and responsibility to the work. This, you could argue,
18. 2:20is the is the mission of the AI Salon. Right? Human-centric, let's use these tools to do all this stuff where we can bring our whole selves
19. 2:33to using AI in ways that take the things we want to do in the world and do them bigger, better, faster, cheaper.
20. 2:43A key long-term role for people will be deciding what is worth doing. There's your job. There's your Rick Rubin.
21. 2:50Right? That's our job in the future. I know this feels feels [ __ ] surreal right now. You're like, but our job,
22. 2:59isn't our job going to be to do the No. Our job's not going to be to do the things. You'll have things that will do the things.
23. 3:09You can choose to do the things. You just don't have to do the things. Well, I love needlepoint. Well, go do [ __ ] needlepoint.
24. 3:19But, if you want to start a needlepoint company to sell all the pretty little needlepoint, and you want to scale that,
