Description

In the vibrant world of AI and creativity, Kyle explores the intersection of technology and artistic expression, emphasizing the transformative potential of generative tools like Sora and MidJourney. His discussions often revolve around the democratization of creativity, where traditional barriers are dismantled, allowing a broader audience to engage in storytelling and artistic endeavors. Kyle's insights highlight the importance of collaboration between human imagination and AI capabilities, suggesting that these tools can amplify creative voices rather than replace them. He also delves into the implications of AI on various industries, including film and design, while fostering a community that embraces experimentation and innovation. 6:00 learning lab an occasionally dog singing
6:04 [Music]
6:12 Channel all right fantastic
6:17 Bob how is
6:19 everybody Wolf Man Clint
6:22 everybody's posting their little animals
6:25 very nice welcome to the AI learning lab
6:28 it is a Monday night
6:31 toward the end of March Jesus what is
6:35 happening didn't we just start March
6:39 like two days
6:41 ago
6:46 seriously no wonder Champ's not singing
6:48 he's like there's a warp in the
6:49 SpaceTime Continuum dad what am I
6:52 supposed to do sing for my supper the
6:55 answer to that is actually
6:58 yes I hate it when dogs have
7:01 logic oo I just almost spilled a whole
7:04 coffee made my first song witho today
7:08 how it's crazy isn't it isn't it
7:12 fun um open AI teased open I open AI did
7:17 an interesting thing today I thought
7:21 they put out some new sunno
7:23 videos and they basically said look when
7:26 creative people use these tools they
7:29 make better [ __ ]
7:32 and they put out some good
7:35 stuff
7:39 um I think they're having to I I I I
7:42 think it behooves them thank you very
7:44 much for that gift I love that one um I
7:47 think it behooves them to court
7:48 Hollywood and to court the creative
7:51 Community um and it looks like they are
7:54 I also I also had a uh I had a thought
7:57 today that um
8:02 the way they rolled
8:04 out GPT 4 if you
8:09 remember they rolled
8:11 out chat
8:13 gp4 and then they had a separate
8:17 Mode called inter internet chat with
8:20 Bing or whatever it was the Bing chat so
8:23 it it connected to the internet was a
8:24 separate mode then they had a separate
8:27 Mode called code interpreter then I had
8:29 a separate mode Mode called Dolly 3
8:31 remember you had to switch between all
8:32 those different
8:34 modes I have a sneaking suspicion that
8:39 Sora and this voice thing that they're
8:42 about to you know that that they've been
8:44 toying around with I have a feeling that
8:47 all of these are separate modes of chat
8:49 GPT 5 that's my speculation that's my
8:52 chat TMZ
8:55 speculation what was that Danielle I
8:56 didn't see it right as I went to read
8:59 what was was pinned I lost
9:01 it oh Danielle that's your image up nice
9:05 yeah I went back to some some oldies but
9:06 goodies I mean it's not that old it's
9:08 probably a month or two old but but yeah
9:10 that's a good
9:12 one Be not Afraid making images for the
9:16 lab if you want to make images for the
9:17 lab you just just post them into the AI
9:20 learning lab club and then I'll grab
9:23 them and put them up here and if if
9:25 there's not ones in there if I got
9:26 nothing to grab I go back in
9:28 time
9:30 did you did you all order my birthday
9:32 presents yeah people did you order
9:34 Danielle's presents I gave her featuring
9:38 of one of her images I totally knew it
9:40 was her birthday and definitely did that
9:42 as the gift I don't know what you people
9:44 are doing with your
9:46 loserville not ordering presents yet for
9:49 her
9:51 sad you can make money
9:55 with we should get Daniel a
9:58 button
10:01 all
10:03 right Mrs Kyle yeah Mrs Kyle was here Dr
10:06 champy champy was trying to protect us I
10:11 tried to deliver it to you Kyle but a
10:13 dog attacked me well see that's what you
10:15 get you can't just you can't just walk
10:18 up on the Shannon
10:19 compound we have
10:22 protection we have Thug dogs he's got
10:25 like a little teardrop he's got like a
10:28 prison teardrop over his his right eye
10:31 he really does he did he did time in the
10:34 big
10:36 house whenever he's a bad dog I always
10:39 threatened to take him back to the big
10:40 house he doesn't like
10:42 [Laughter]
10:49 that oh lordy lordy lordy what else I'm
10:53 getting ready I'm giving doing a
10:55 workshop on
10:56 Wednesday so I'm getting ready for that
11:00 tomorrow night we've got a salon an AI
11:02 Salon um and and it's going it's a fun
11:05 one we're doing every other month or so
11:08 we do a thing called Ai
11:10 confessionals and so it's the community
11:13 just sharing like what's going on what
11:15 what's something you've done so I'm
11:17 going to share the
11:19 uh the C gpts I made Leah's going to
11:23 share some work she's been doing in mid
11:25 journey and Eric is going to share an
11:27 app that he's built um so we're going to
11:30 do those three things and then we're
11:31 going to open it up to the community to
11:33 do AI confessionals so tomorrow's uh
11:36 Salon is going to be a lot of fun so if
11:38 you don't know about the
11:41 salon that's the URL go there and then
11:44 click on AI Salon community and go read
11:47 what we're all about and check it out
11:49 it's a great community and if you go to
11:52 events uh the event tomorrow is is uh
11:56 right in the community section under AI
11:58 Salon events all right all righty who
12:03 pinned
12:05 that oh yall are cute has she never
12:09 gotten nothing that's what I got
12:13 her it's a rough crowd here Danielle I
12:16 don't think you're getting much there's
12:19 you're getting a lot of smartass answers
12:21 here is what you're getting Led Led by
12:23 Yours
12:24 [Laughter]
12:28 Truly uh oh man so here's how this works
12:32 if you uh if you're curious about AI
12:34 have questions about AI um pop them in
12:37 the
12:38 comments I'm happy to do that um we can
12:41 talk about anything from how do you get
12:43 started to Big questions you have to
12:47 little questions you have um the
12:50 Irregulars in here so the people that
12:51 show up here regularly are super helpful
12:53 so they can probably answer some of your
12:55 questions so will the mods um if there's
12:58 a good question the mods will pin it for
12:59 me so I can see it just saw a thing
13:02 about Sora yep I'm going to I'm going to
13:04 we're going to watch some of those
13:06 videos tonight um because it's what what
13:09 you get to witness with what open AI put
13:11 out today about Sora
13:17 is when when you have a tool like
13:21 Sora lots of people can
13:24 do well no one can do [ __ ] yet CU it's
13:27 not released yet but when it's released
13:30 people will be able to do all sorts of
13:31 cool little video clips and things like
13:33 that but when you put it in the hand of
13:35 storytellers right that understand the
13:38 language of
13:39 Cinema and writing they do cool stuff
13:43 and so what open AI released today was
13:45 hey we gave Sora to some select
13:48 storytellers and look at the [ __ ] that
13:50 they've built and it's it's pretty good
13:52 so we'll go look at that we will go look
13:56 at
13:57 that yeah there's a lot of fake ads for
14:00 Sora that's another thing if you see ads
14:02 for Sora it's like good news you can you
14:05 can make Sora videos on your phone now
14:08 no you
14:09 can't those are scams they're selling
14:12 you some shitty stable video diffusion
14:15 [ __ ] that they're just you know
14:17 calling Sora but it's not
14:21 Sora it's
14:24 annoying it's annoying it's annoying
14:28 I've been hearing about self-improve
14:29 proving AI agents are you talking about
14:31 that at
14:32 all um a little bit I mean they're not
14:36 really they're not really out yet Devon
14:38 Devon has been announced but not out
14:41 widely um and I wouldn't call Devon self
14:46 improving it's sort well it's
14:50 self-improving in that it plans and then
14:54 executes against that plan and when it
14:56 creates code that's buggy it debugs it
14:58 and fixes it but that's not really
15:00 self-improving the agent itself
15:03 um I think I think I think we're going
15:06 to see like just like 2023 was like lots
15:10 of different tools dropping and lots of
15:12 different large language models dropping
15:15 um 2024 I think we'll start to see lots
15:17 of different kinds of Agents dropping um
15:21 so I think we'll be talking about it a
15:22 lot more on here there's just right now
15:24 there's some open- Source stuff that's
15:26 okay um and there's a handful of
15:29 announced things that are okay um but
15:33 nothing really Earth shattering right
15:35 now so but we'll get there we'll get
15:37 there this year finally finally I got
15:40 co-pilot wait I got to Pilot chat
15:45 jp4 for the global coms Department of my
15:48 ginormous Inc awesome so so Cav runo's
15:52 been in here I think for if not a year
15:55 close to it
15:57 right and when she first started started
16:00 out in here she was just like I'm the
16:03 only one that knows anything about AI in
16:05 my company and we're just like keep
16:07 talking about it keep talking about
16:09 she's like they think I'm a weirdo just
16:11 keep talking about it keep talking about
16:13 it and then you know she did some
16:16 lunches and then she got invited to you
16:18 know demo for some people and wow now
16:22 you did it for the whole comms
16:23 Department that's awesome
16:24 congratulations that's that's that's
16:27 fantastic yeah I'm curious um an says
16:30 tell us everything that's that's where
16:31 that's where I am like what what was
16:33 their response I
16:35 assume there were a few Kevin McAllister
16:37 moments so if you haven't had your Kevin
16:39 mallister moment yet that's that's what
16:41 we call it in here when when you have
16:43 one of
16:44 these when when AI is it just rocks your
16:48 world and you're like it can do that oh
16:50 my God I don't know it could do
16:54 that I thought it was just like Google
16:57 is it not just like Google I didn't
16:59 really understand what it was it can do
17:02 that
17:06 well well that makes me a little
17:08 concerned about my
17:11 [Laughter]
17:13 employment and I don't mean to poke fun
17:17 because CU it's pretty [ __ ]
17:22 scary but the
17:24 antidote I don't know if it's an
17:26 antidote a thing that makes it a little
17:28 less scary is is actually using the
17:30 tools playing with them understanding
17:32 how they work understanding what their
17:34 limitations
17:36 are uh steo Kyle needs to look at the
17:40 image that you're teasing me about where
17:42 is it in in
17:47 [Music]
17:53 Irregulars there's the Sora
17:56 post I do not say nothing
18:00 where did you pass the
18:06 [Music]
18:12 image that's cool
18:19 nice I don't see it I don't say nothing
18:23 show and tell which one and show and
18:28 tell
18:30 that's pretty beautiful
18:34 Danielle that's one that just
18:40 [Music]
18:51 tagged wow that's pretty
18:56 groovy what's the story behind that
19:04 what are you
19:09 smoking that's that that was my story
19:12 like like are those Edibles kicking
19:20 in oh that's really funny uh if you
19:23 don't know where I am I am at the AI
19:26 salon so if you go to
19:30 the salon. a that's going to take you to
19:34 a link tree and you click
19:35 on uh the AI Salon community and it'll
19:39 dump you into this little area welcome
19:40 to the
19:42 salon and this talks about who we are
19:44 why we do it we do and what this is this
19:46 is a community of people kind of
19:48 choosing to be on the AI adventure
19:52 together think of the AI Salon as a
19:54 support group for people trying to
19:56 figure all this [ __ ] out and and um it's
20:00 it's a really amazing group of people
20:02 and so what you should do is you know
20:04 check out what we're about check out our
20:06 values
20:07 curiosity
20:09 generosity exploration collaboration
20:12 inclusion empathy and
20:15 gratitude and if those sound like oh
20:18 yeah that sounds like my kind of people
20:20 great that's then this is going to be
20:22 full of your kind of people if these
20:24 values sound like G that turns my
20:26 stomach then you're not going to dig it
20:28 here so you don't have to join in fact
20:31 if if these values don't resonate with
20:33 you you know don't join right it's not
20:36 this this isn't going to be for you but
20:37 this is who the people are in this
20:39 community really amazing group of people
20:41 and the first thing you should do if you
20:42 join is go to the community section
20:44 there's a the first tab is called
20:46 introduce yourself and you should go in
20:48 and introduce
20:50 yourself um and then you can check out
20:52 uh events like tomorrow night we've got
20:54 the AI Salon Wednesday night I'm giving
20:57 a workshop if you're in the Colorado
20:58 front Front Range uh I'm given a a 2hour
21:02 workshop uh from 7 to 10 there's
21:04 cocktails before and then and then a
21:06 Hands-On Hands-On Workshop which is
21:08 going to be fun um there's a news
21:11 section there's showand tell area there
21:13 are guilds so creative business Tech and
21:17 social impact and then there are clubs
21:20 and we have our own club so if you if
21:22 you want to like I don't know Jam while
21:26 we're playing in here uh during these
21:29 lives you can share things in the uh in
21:33 the
21:35 channel so since we're over here since
21:38 digital Gods Lord digital Gods put this
21:41 here why don't we jump over to this page
21:43 so this is um this is the page from open
21:48 AI um that they posted today from their
21:58 blog
22:00 let's
22:11 see Paul trillo he's one of the
22:14 filmmakers Sora is at its most powerful
22:16 when you're not replicating the old but
22:18 bringing to to life new and impossible
22:21 ideas we would have otherwise never had
22:24 the opportunity to see which is good
22:27 it's a good first quote because right
22:30 this is a quote that basically says H
22:32 yeah we're not just trying to replace
22:35 people with with this
22:40 tool not not for nothing uh they're
22:43 already canceling Studio Projects so so
22:45 I think the writing's on the wall
22:49 but I think Hollywood will be a big user
22:52 of this what's what's amazing about all
22:55 of these Technologies is that they're
22:58 democratizing force and creativity um
23:01 but you still need to be able to tell
23:02 stories and so what the what these are
23:04 is just a whole series of videos as
23:07 great as Sora is at generating things
23:09 that appear real what excites us is its
23:11 ability to make things that are totally
23:12 surreal from a group called shy kids I
23:16 think this this for me this was the best
23:18 video I like this video a lot um just
23:20 because the storytelling is really good
23:22 but um so here's here's a video so this
23:25 is all
23:26 Sora um and done by a storyteller
23:32 [Music]
23:43 well they say everyone has something
23:44 unique about something that sets them
23:47 apart just in my case you know it's
23:49 quite obvious what that thing
23:52 is I am literally filled with hot air
23:56 yeah living like this has its challenges
23:58 uh windy days for one are particularly
24:01 Troublesome or there was the one time my
24:03 girlfriend insisted i' go to the cactus
24:05 store to get my Uncle Jerry a wedding
24:07 [Music]
24:08 present what do I love most about my
24:11 predicament the perspective it gives me
24:14 you know I get to see the world
24:15 differently I float above the mundane
24:18 and the ordinary I see things a
24:19 different way from everyone else yeah I
24:21 feel like it's because of that
24:23 perspective I'm reminded every day that
24:24 life is fragile we're all just a pin
24:27 prick away from deflation
24:29 so I try to live life with a lightness a
24:35 buoyancy I got a lot of ideas keeping
24:37 this thing full with any luck I'll find
24:41 a way to share them with everyone
24:45 else nice
24:47 right
24:53 cute this one is Paul Paul
24:57 trillo earned accolades from Rolling
25:00 Stone in the New
25:02 Yorker 19 Vimeo staff
25:05 picks working with Sora is the first
25:08 time I felt Unchained as a filmmaker not
25:11 restricted by time money other people's
25:14 permission I can ideate and experiment
25:17 in bold and exciting ways for me that's
25:19 the thing that I'm most excited about
25:21 this I was talking with Andrew the guy
25:22 that I'm working on the musical with um
25:26 was exactly that that
25:29 what AI does is allows you to explore
25:32 ideas like quickly and instantly a lot
25:35 of the things like the dude walking with
25:37 the balloon head like that's some fairly
25:40 sophisticated um you know rotoscoping or
25:44 compositing that you would have to do if
25:46 you were to do that
25:47 traditionally and or traditionally
25:51 digitally in in the olden timey days in
25:54 2023 um you know and and now you can
25:59 just you know call it up and put these
26:01 things together so let's see what he put
26:10 [Music]
26:18 [Music]
26:27 together
26:29 [Music]
26:57 nice
27:00 [Music]
27:12 [Music]
27:18 [Music]
27:23 [Laughter]
27:31 [Music]
27:33 [Applause]
27:36 [Music]
27:40 yeah that was interesting um where's my
27:46 Mouse I mean he did interesting things
27:48 there with time scale right where he
27:50 accelerated things and you know sped up
27:53 and slowed slowed them down wasn't
27:55 wasn't a ton of narrative in there but
27:57 really interesting
27:59 um Pate says he he does can't get
28:01 excited about anything that's just a
28:03 press release I would say this is not
28:04 quite a press release right this is this
28:07 is artists actually playing with the
28:09 tool and building thing so it's we we
28:12 still don't have it in our hands here's
28:14 the thing about Sora Sora is not going
28:16 to be included I'm guessing it's not
28:19 going to be included in your $20 a month
28:21 thing this isn't a press release well
28:23 it's a blog post it's it's not really a
28:26 press release it's just like some
28:28 creatives have used our tool and here's
28:30 the [ __ ] they built so it's it's just
28:32 some more I what I what I would call
28:34 this is you know this
28:36 is storytellers that have been given the
28:39 tool as opposed to things built within
28:42 you know the open AI
28:45 ecosystem so I think that's a that's
28:49 a it's not a big deal but it's a it's a
28:52 Rel it's it's a relatively step forward
28:55 from you know launching it but my my
28:59 strong
29:00 suspicion is that um that Sora is is
29:04 either going to be a standalone product
29:06 that it's got its own subscription fee
29:08 or it's going to be um released to to
29:11 very limited um audiences like
29:14 filmmakers you know who who have to
29:16 apply for it and things like that but
29:18 we'll see we don't know everything's
29:20 chat TMZ at this point um this one is
29:24 Nick
29:26 clov Emy nomin ated creative agency from
29:29 La specializing in brand storytelling
29:32 motion and title design and generative
29:35 AI workflows who's using Sora to
29:38 visualize Concepts and rapidly iterate
29:40 on Creative for brand
29:42 Partners I'm one of the creatives that
29:44 thinks in motion so when I'm in Sora it
29:47 really feels like I can bring any idea
29:49 to life the other thing uh Kieran asked
29:53 if we can go check out um globe.
29:58 engineer which we can do that and then I
30:00 I also um LTX Studio has got some new
30:04 posts out they're kind of ramping up
30:07 their press releases paint but we can go
30:10 look at what they're putting out there
30:12 cuz LTX Studio look looks like it's
30:14 going to be quite remarkable and I would
30:17 assume that at some point they'll be
30:19 able to incorporate Sora into LTX studio
30:24 so let's see what old Nick did here this
30:27 he's a brand guy
30:28 [Music]
30:29 [Laughter]
30:32 [Music]
30:39 nice that's really
30:42 nice weird proportions on that
30:45 [Music]
30:53 car he's definitely got some ad Ad
30:57 Agency EST
30:59 right
31:00 [Music]
31:04 nice that's just more like a show
31:07 real musician researcher creative
31:11 activist wonder what that means Sora
31:13 represents a real turning point for me
31:15 as an artist whose scope has always been
31:18 limited by imagination being at odds
31:20 with the means that's that's what that's
31:23 kind of what Kelly uh Bosch was saying
31:26 about her work that she's always had
31:28 these Visions in her head and has never
31:30 been able to get them out you know
31:31 either limited by resources or just you
31:34 know technological limitations being
31:37 able to build and iterate on cinematic
31:39 visuals that int this intuitively has
31:42 opened up categorically new Lanes of
31:46 artistry for me I truly cannot wait to
31:49 see what other forms of Storytelling
31:51 will come into form with the future with
31:54 these tools that's the thing I think I'm
31:56 most excited about is that when you
32:01 democratize high
32:05 quality
32:06 everything right it's not just
32:08 storytelling tools these are
32:09 storytelling tools but when you
32:11 democratize the ability to tell stories
32:14 with music and with sound effects and
32:17 with visuals and with writing and with
32:20 coding and with data analysis all all of
32:25 the skills that have historically been
32:27 restricted to
32:29 Specialty right you know specialty
32:33 practitioners when all of that gets
32:37 democratized Le let's say for any given
32:40 discipline there's 5% of the people in
32:43 the world can do that discipline and so
32:47 those 5% of people that do that
32:49 discipline they get a certain vocabulary
32:51 and they all sort of work within that
32:54 vocabulary and then if you democratize
32:57 that from 5 % out to 80% of people can
33:00 now do you know at some level of
33:03 competence that discipline they're going
33:06 to bring they're they're going to break
33:07 the rules because they don't know the
33:10 rules and so you're going to just have
33:12 like 75% of people just doing [ __ ] most
33:15 of it's going to suck most of it's just
33:17 going to be like an abject
33:19 disaster and then there's going to be in
33:22 that 75% another 5% that's just [ __ ]
33:26 brilliant and it it transforms things
33:28 because they didn't know what the what
33:30 the conventions were that that I find
33:33 tremendously exciting so let's see what
33:35 this artist
33:52 [Music]
33:57 did
34:03 [Music]
34:18 that's pretty slick Lily beon my kid was
34:21 called a name at school and came home
34:23 and wrote a song with sunno Kevin
34:25 McAllister
34:27 phase
34:28 it's I I'm
34:30 telling yeah like this idea of being
34:35 able
34:38 to to express any idea we
34:43 have in any
34:46 form is just [ __ ] mindblowing right
34:49 like like you could come home and you
34:51 could write a letter to the principal
34:54 you could you could write a poem or you
34:56 could write a song
34:59 and or you could make a movie I I mean
35:02 we're
35:02 just we're so we we're just on the verge
35:07 of this remarkable Renaissance this this
35:10 AI fueled Renaissance that is just ah so
35:14 [ __ ]
35:18 exciting what does the official Sora app
35:20 icon look like I have chat gb4 Mr Studio
35:24 there is no official Sora app icon there
35:27 is no Sora app any app that says it's a
35:30 SORA app right now is fraud so just I
35:36 wouldn't be watching movies right now if
35:38 Sora was out we would be making
35:41 movies so so as Pate says we're just
35:44 looking at a press release right
35:47 now all right who's this artist this is
35:50 Josephine Miller creative director
35:52 co-founder and creative director of the
35:53 london-based AAR Studio specializing in
35:57 3D visual augmented reality in digital
36:00 fashion so she should have some some
36:03 visuals that'll be pretty kill her Sora
36:04 has opened up the potential to bring
36:06 life to ideas I've had for years that's
36:09 what Kelly Bosch said ideas that were
36:11 previously technically
36:14 impossible amazing the ability to
36:17 rapidly conceptualize at such a high
36:19 level of quality is not only challenging
36:21 my creative process but also helping me
36:24 evolve in storytelling it's enabling me
36:26 to translate my imagin
36:28 with fewer technical constraints that's
36:32 it that's so think here's the promise of
36:36 this [ __ ]
36:38 people you've got imaginations we've all
36:40 got
36:42 imaginations you have some idea of like
36:45 a vision for oh you know what would be
36:48 cool and for all of our Lives you know
36:51 what would be cool that question is
36:54 smashed down by reality and the fact
36:56 that you didn't get that art d degree
36:58 and the fact that you didn't go to film
37:00 school and the fact that you had to get
37:01 a job and the fact that you worked at a
37:03 factory for all that [ __ ]
37:05 time right the fact that people told you
37:08 you weren't talented and you believed
37:11 them but you still have those [ __ ]
37:14 ideas
37:17 right imagine a World Imagine a
37:23 world where those ideas that
37:26 imagination can can be set
37:30 free that's what we're entering what
37:32 happens to the Next Generation whose
37:34 creativity won't be killed in childhood
37:36 that's Source Camp that's
37:38 it Source Camp's the one because I was
37:41 thinking I was thinking about this that
37:44 um I I was thinking about this very
37:46 logically that that one of the things
37:48 that generative AI does for me is it
37:51 makes me
37:53 feel younger creatively and I sort of
37:56 went back to my early 20s I'm like it's
37:58 like it's like I'm as creative as I was
38:00 in my early 20s and then I was on a call
38:03 with with her with Kelly and she said
38:07 she said I have the energy and
38:09 enthusiasm of like the seven or
38:11 eight-year-old me I have like seven or
38:12 eight-year-old Creative
38:14 Energy and I and like what hit me was it
38:17 wasn't me in my 20s that I'm feeling
38:20 it's like me it's it's like imagine the
38:23 you before you got beat
38:26 down that's what we get to experiment
38:29 with that's what we get to to to unveil
38:32 to the world with these
38:34 tools that's why this is so exciting
38:36 this isn't about efficiency and and
38:39 making automating job tasks
38:42 better
38:44 that what what that's going to do what
38:47 the who uh who was it described it um he
38:51 described it uh was it was it Elon Musk
38:54 described it as the automation of
38:57 automation
38:58 that that what these tools are doing is
39:00 they're going to automate all of the
39:02 automations that have already been
39:03 created and then what that does is free
39:06 us up to do the [ __ ] we want to
39:12 do already covered that one all right
39:14 let's see Josephine Josephine Miller's
39:19 piece oh
39:21 nice yeah
39:23 that's that's that's a fashion someone
39:26 with a fashion Vision look at that
39:28 that's gorgeous you can also see why
39:30 this would have been tough
39:32 to tough to
39:35 [Music]
39:38 create that dress made of stained glass
39:41 that's so cool
39:44 beautiful these are short all right Don
39:47 Allen Stevenson II good day it's Don
39:51 Allen Stevenson the
39:54 third started his career at DreamWorks
39:57 Don
39:58 alen III is a multi-disciplinary Creator
40:01 speaker and consultant who
40:03 collaborates for a long time I've been
40:05 making augmented reality hybrid
40:08 creatures that I think would be fun
40:10 combinations in my head now I have a
40:12 much easier way of prototyping the ideas
40:15 before I fully build out the 3D
40:18 characters and place them in spatial
40:21 computers Don sites sora's weirdness at
40:25 it as its greatest strength it's it's
40:27 not bound by traditional laws of physics
40:30 or conventions of
40:33 thought yeah technical hurdles to Pure
40:37 creativity unlocking a world of instant
40:39 visual visualization and rapid
40:41 prototyping I feel like this allows me
40:43 to focus more of my time and energy in
40:45 the right places and the emotional
40:47 impact I would like my characters to
40:49 have that's great the the flamingo
40:55 giraffe welcome to Beyond our reality a
40:58 journey through parallel worlds where we
41:01 delve into the
41:03 extraordinary episode one unveils The
41:05 Giraffe flamingo a stunning hybrid that
41:08 roams the savann with and vibrant hes in
41:11 episode 2 we Ascend of the flying pigs
41:14 Charming creatures that redefine the
41:16 skies with their harmonious
41:18 flame episode 3 plunges us Into the

41:29 episode 4 introduces us to the eel cat
41:32 an aquatic Enigma that combines the
41:34 sleekness of an eel with the Curiosity
41:36 of a cat episode five presents the bunny
41:39 armadillo a delightful mix of bunny
41:41 charm and armadillo protection
41:44 captivating our
41:46 hearts episode 6 features the horsefly a

41:54 likee
41:55 agility episode 7 explores the reptilian
41:58 aru a creature that leaps across the
42:00 desert with the Vigor of a kangaroo and
42:02 the resilience of a
42:04 reptile our adventure culminates in
42:07 episode 8 with the fox Crow a fusion of
42:09 fox cunning and Crow Freedom soaring
42:12 through the forest
42:14 Enigma join us on this mesmerizing
42:17 journey through beyond our reality a
42:20 journey to parallel worlds and the
42:22 marbles
42:25 nice artist who B Alex rebon or
42:31 reben explores the humor and absurdity
42:34 of human nature in artificial
42:36 intelligence creating sculptures my
42:39 experience of using Sor was as a
42:41 starting point to develop 3D sculpture
42:43 this is this is something I'm super
42:45 excited about too that that and I think
42:49 I think Corey Sandler's been
42:51 experimenting with this with her um her
42:54 glaze she made a GPT to help people make
42:57 glazes for for Ceramics and pottery the
43:00 idea of being able to create
43:02 stuff using these tools and then realize
43:06 them in the real world that's really
43:07 exciting to me my thoughts drifted
43:10 toward exploring the realm of
43:12 photogrametry and its potential
43:14 applications for sculpture the prospect
43:16 of transforming video into 3D models
43:19 intrigued me as it hinted at propelling
43:22 the AI system Beyond its initial scope
43:25 well that's that's actually really
43:26 interesting because because the way Sora
43:29 works it is
43:32 effectively understanding the physics of
43:35 a 3D world even though it's generating
43:38 2D video it understands the objects in
43:42 its scenes and it understands the
43:44 physics of them so I I think Sora is
43:47 just a very small um demonstration of
43:51 what could be coming with that
43:52 technology where where you might end up
43:55 generating 3D objects or 3D worlds out
43:57 of its understanding of of the
44:00 world um so interesting let's see see
44:03 what he did with with this
44:09 stuff no
44:12 music that's a shame but those are
44:20 cool
44:22 yep very
44:26 slick
44:31 you know and I mean like this this is
44:33 something that I find what what I find
44:35 really exciting about this
44:38 is like look look at the you know if if
44:41 you saw any one of these pieces of Art
44:43 in a
44:44 gallery you know you wouldn't go well
44:47 how much of that was created by
44:49 AI You' go just like nice work right you
44:54 know so but but maybe the the idea the
44:57 visualization for it was done in AI
44:59 right and so the so you end up having
45:03 this collaboration that happens where AI
45:05 is is the idea amplifier and then the
45:08 human figures out how the hell they want
45:10 to express them in the world and who
45:12 gives a [ __ ] what tool they
45:14 used so anyway um that's super
45:19 exciting
45:23 uh and that's it anyway pretty slick so
45:28 that's at
45:29 open.com blog and it's the first blog
45:32 post
45:33 there all right fantastic how do I get
45:36 consistent results from AI for
45:39 architectural renderings um you give up
45:42 you give up the the fantasy that you're
45:45 going to get consistent results for
45:47 architecture if you have if you have
45:50 expectations right now that you're going
45:52 to get consistent architectural results
45:55 just give that up um
45:58 you could
46:00 experiment with elx exactly they missed
46:03 the elx I don't know how they missed the
46:04 elx but whatever
46:09 um oh what was I talking about the oh
46:12 the architecture stuff um you could
46:15 experiment with mid Journey's new um
46:20 character reference feature where you
46:24 could potentially say I I want I want to
46:26 Define this house as the character or
46:29 whatever the building is and put it in
46:31 different you know different locations
46:34 but but if you're expecting kind of um
46:38 you know mathematical consistency you're
46:40 not going to get it it's just not the
46:41 way they work right now I I think that I
46:44 think that we will
46:45 see probably in the next two
46:49 years AI layers sitting on top of you
46:53 know Cad and Architectural rendering
46:56 software where you can just speak stuff
46:58 into existence and then it will have
47:01 architectural consistency and then you
47:03 can take that and imagine that you know
47:05 you can sort of render that using
47:08 diffusion models but right now the
47:09 diffusion models are not mathematically
47:13 consistent from a from a rendering
47:16 perspective they're pretty but they're
47:18 just they're just diffusion they're just
47:20 random noise um images that get Den
47:25 noised over time and there's not there's
47:26 not a whole lot of logic in there
47:28 checking consistency and things like
47:30 that Sora is doing really interesting
47:32 stuff with um maintaining consistency
47:35 over time um but I don't I don't know
47:38 how they're doing it within the space
47:40 like they're claiming that it
47:41 understands the physics of the the space
47:43 that it's representing so it's we're
47:46 it's I it's it's cuckoo what these
47:48 mathematicians are doing right now is
47:52 just
47:54 crazy Kyle can we do Globe Eng globe.
47:57 engineer next yeah it's what is it
48:02 it's something. globe.
48:05 engineer explore right
48:09 Explorer I think it's
48:13 Explorer
48:16 explore explorer. Globe so if you just
48:19 go to globe.
48:21 engineer without the Explorer on the
48:24 front it takes you to a site
48:35 of just a whole bunch of experiments so
48:37 I don't I don't quite know what globe.
48:40 engineer is it it looks like it's a
48:42 research lab and they're just doing all
48:43 sorts of
48:45 projects one of the projects that they
48:48 created and so so that's it's probably
48:51 worth just going and exploring some of
48:54 their other projects but the one that
48:58 people seem to gotten the most excited
49:00 about that I am also excited
49:03 about
49:07 explorer. globe.
49:09 engineer is this thing and this is this
49:13 is somewhere
49:15 between a search engine and a
49:18 curriculum
49:21 Creator it's it's wild so what you do is
49:26 you go in here and you say what were we
49:28 just looking at oh okay uh I want to
49:32 explore the
49:35 genetic um mixing of
49:45 species and so what it
49:49 creates
49:50 is an outline here hang on let me shrink
49:55 my screen a little bit here
50:00 where's the where's the little sidebar
50:03 hang on a
50:04 sec did they get rid of the
50:17 sidebar here it is
50:19 okay so down the left hand
50:23 side it gives
50:26 you um an outline so hybrid animals a
50:31 liar description characteristic size
50:34 stripes the zour um hybrid plants um
50:38 genetically modified organisms right and
50:41 then over here are images that it pulls
50:45 from the web so there's the faint
50:47 Stripes from the tiger
50:49 parent and if you click on that it takes
50:52 you to a website where that image was
50:55 created then you can you know look at
50:57 that so that's where it's sort of kind
50:59 of like
51:00 a um a search engine is that it finds
51:03 all these things but let me see
51:07 um I want to learn how to make a
51:20 sule and so here's your ingredients
51:23 there's your equipment there's your
51:24 flower
51:25 variations um there's your tips and your
51:28 tricks and there's your basic recipe
51:29 steps one one through whatever right and
51:32 there's all your all your stuff right
51:34 just so it's like instant education
51:37 instant like and you can see it at a
51:39 glance here right the little the little
51:42 outline to the left so I don't know if
51:44 that's what you wanted to is it explore
51:47 or Explorer it's
51:49 explorer. globe.
51:52 engineer maybe they did explore as well
51:54 hang
51:56 on
52:03 no it's explore ER explore
52:08 .g globe.
52:12 engineer and that takes you to this
52:14 thing and then just yeah like um teach
52:19 me to
52:22 juggle five
52:26 balls
52:32 basic
52:35 techniques look there's a there's a
52:39 video oh that's what's her name I like
52:43 her what's think I'm going start cutting
52:44 carbs I need to
52:47 drop if you want to drop hey everybody
52:49 my name is Taylor Glenn and this is my
52:50 channel Taylor tries where I try new
52:52 things and I try to teach you new things
52:53 and today I'm going to teach you how to
52:55 do some easy three ball tricks
52:57 with three balls no I
53:02 mean she's good she's good one so like
53:06 just instantly find your [ __ ] the thing
53:08 that that blows me away about this
53:13 um what this is is this is something
53:16 that that like this is a kind of Search
53:20 innovation
53:23 that the largest search engine in the
53:25 world sh should have done 10 years ago
53:30 right like this is why are we why are we
53:32 still getting search the way we get it
53:34 where you have to you know scroll
53:36 through 40 pages of SEO injected shitty
53:41 websites because that's how they make
53:43 their money so they're not incented to
53:45 do something like this but anyway that
53:48 one's pretty good I don't if there's
53:49 more that this does I don't know what it
53:51 is um they've kind of limited things
53:54 each one of these little sections has a
53:56 a little question mark where you can
53:58 expand it and it it generates um a
54:01 little description there so I think I
54:04 think when they get real servers behind
54:05 this thing and it says get notified
54:08 about Explorer version 2's launch right
54:11 it said that hasn't launched yet but
54:12 anyway that's pretty
54:15 slick all
54:23 right let's see let me go look at one
54:27 other thing there was another thing that
54:29 I thought was cool today oh the LTX
54:31 Studio stuff
54:35 LTX
54:50 Studio let me go
54:53 here so if you don't know what LTX
54:55 studio is
54:57 it is
55:02 a it what it looks to
55:06 be this is this is pate's uh it's hard
55:10 to get excited about something that's a
55:12 press release it looks to be like a
55:14 complete storytelling platform where you
55:18 can do things like have consistent
55:21 characters and you can have locations
55:22 and you can have costumes and you can
55:24 have complicated stories and you can
55:27 stitch them all together and then you
55:29 can just say oh no instead of it being
55:30 said in Paris I want it set in Barcelona
55:33 and it'll just update everything so
55:36 that's that's what it promises uh LTX
55:38 Studio the storytelling platform that
55:40 gives form to your imagination
55:42 conceptualize visualize realize so
55:44 they're they're making some big ass
55:46 promises here in fact let's look at
55:48 their their launch video which again
55:51 this is the future of visual
55:53 storytelling LTX Studio gives form to
55:56 your IDE is bringing them to life just a
55:59 handful of words can transform your
56:01 concept into a story weave it into a
56:03 compelling narrative can we make it a
56:04 regular courtroom drama set in New York
56:06 City sure then generate to elevate it
56:08 into a grand production with music
56:10 dialogue and sound effects
56:12 stop yeah I like it but can the car be
56:16 red you got it you're going to hate me
56:18 wait let
56:19 me just just so you don't get too
56:22 excited about this look notice the
56:25 car the the uh the roof it's a it's a
56:30 it's a two-door car and the roof goes
56:32 down here and then on the other side of
56:34 his head it goes down again so so the
56:38 car is actually
56:39 about about a door too long um but you
56:43 know we can't we can't ask for
56:46 Perfection embrace the Jank people you
56:49 got it you're going to hate me but can
56:50 we try it with a guy no problem actually
56:52 let's go back to a girl okay how about
56:54 storyboarding no problemo we need an
56:56 extra scene here simple right actually
56:58 that was really cool so you know right
57:01 now we've got you you make all your
57:03 images in mid journey and then you take
57:05 them over to Runway and then you make
57:07 all your little 4-second clips and you
57:09 dump them into a folder and then how do
57:11 you assemble them well that's
57:13 storyboarding right so that's the
57:14 ability to really quickly be able to re
57:17 okay how about architect your story
57:19 problem right really easily so that's
57:22 what they're promising again this is a
57:23 marketing we need an extra scene here
57:25 simple so I have some ideas about
57:27 costing okay can we talk lighting sure
57:30 does this thing do titles how's this
57:33 whatever your creative wishes LTX Studio
57:35 harnesses the power of AI and gives you
57:37 the ability to supercharge the creative
57:39 production process from camera angles to
57:40 Casting through styling and contextual
57:43 editing LTX is a holistic Movie Maker
57:45 for all LT now my guess not going to be
57:49 cheap not going to be easy it's going to
57:51 be a complicated thing but if it can do
57:53 all that [ __ ] holy [ __ ] so they have
58:00 been full experience join the live
58:03 stream for our launch event on Discord
58:05 on March 27th so it looks like it's
58:07 launching
58:10 Wednesday it's a limo Kyle yeah it was a
58:12 limo all right so here's weather let's
58:15 watch this
58:17 [Music]
58:21 one weather sunny Clear Sky boom amazing
58:29 [Music]
58:37 choosing a
58:42 location underwater Atlantis change to
58:47 Desert
58:49 [Music]
58:51 bang dense
58:53 jungle
58:55 Bang
58:58 [Music]
59:08 different
59:09 styles now let's say you have a specific
59:12 style in mind for your project anime
59:19 [Music]
59:25 clamation
59:28 [Music]
59:41 yeah so anyway so it looks like looks
59:44 like launch event on Wednesday and in
59:48 fact LTX Studio where's their
59:55 Discord join the LTX Discord server I
59:58 don't know if I've joined this but join
1:00:01 LTX
1:00:02 studio if you haven't you should go join
1:00:05 it let's customize your
1:00:08 experience marketer content creator
1:00:11 definitely an
1:00:13 experimentalist yes I'll be
1:00:20 experimenting all right let's
1:00:23 see contest winner o let's
1:00:27 see this is the story of a dream a
1:00:30 broken ankle and a twist of fate that
1:00:33 saved my first film and it goes like
1:00:35 this from the industrial Shadows of
1:00:38 ostrava I set out to direct a comedy
1:00:40 amidst the natural Splendor of czechia
1:00:43 disaster struck when our lead actress
1:00:44 suffered an injury and with no time left
1:00:47 our film teetered on the brink of
1:00:49 collapse in the face of seemingly
1:00:51 insurmountable odds a spark of
1:00:53 inspiration ignited a bold idea we have
1:00:57 to change the script yeah this is this
1:00:59 is like all like Runway style or stable
1:01:02 video diffusion so the the rendering
1:01:04 engine here is pretty pretty low level
1:01:08 but if this thing can actually assemble
1:01:11 all of the piece Parts like that and let
1:01:13 you swap
1:01:15 out you know characters and costumes and
1:01:19 and and retain the structure of the
1:01:21 story holy [ __ ] and you know when they
1:01:26 put something like Sora beneath it then
1:01:28 you know all bets are off so all right
1:01:32 so looks like Wednesday that's
1:01:34 coming crazy crazy crazy it's crazy I
1:01:38 tell
1:01:44 you I like the Jank you'll miss it we
1:01:47 will miss the
1:01:48 Jank I'm telling you when these things
1:01:51 get
1:01:53 perfect we're going to be like yeah I
1:01:55 liked it when the fingers were
1:01:57 [Laughter]
1:02:00 weird actors and models definitely
1:02:02 getting replaced yeah for sure but but
1:02:05 you know what what happens here
1:02:08 is like if you're an actor in New York I
1:02:11 don't know how it is in La I I never I
1:02:14 was never an actor in La if you're an
1:02:15 actor in New
1:02:17 York you got to [ __ ]
1:02:20 hustle and you've got to like if you
1:02:22 want to work you put on shows and so you
1:02:25 have to produce and you you have to do
1:02:26 marketing and you have to do sets and
1:02:28 you have to do lighting and you have to
1:02:31 do costumes you have to do all the [ __ ]
1:02:35 right cuz you got to hustle cuz nobody
1:02:37 gives a sh no like the world doesn't
1:02:39 need a new [ __ ] play Nobody wants a
1:02:41 new
1:02:45 play except the artists they're like we
1:02:48 got to have this new play all right well
1:02:50 then go [ __ ] make a
1:02:52 play right it's
1:02:55 rough so even though these tools are
1:02:58 going to completely [ __ ] with the
1:03:01 current creative
1:03:04 ecosystem what they're also going to do
1:03:07 is give ambitious
1:03:10 talented
1:03:13 multidisciplinary artists creative
1:03:15 artists actors singers writers
1:03:21 directors way more
1:03:23 capabilities so imagine having an idea
1:03:26 for an Off Broadway
1:03:29 play about some little story that
1:03:33 happened to you when you in high school
1:03:36 and maybe if you're lucky you'll write
1:03:38 that play and then maybe if you're lucky
1:03:40 you move to New York and you meet two or
1:03:43 three people that are like hey maybe we
1:03:44 should put that play on and then you
1:03:47 find someone to direct it and then you
1:03:48 get to act in it or maybe
1:03:51 not and then maybe you do a seven
1:03:54 performance run in some church basement
1:03:57 in between AA
1:04:00 meetings and then maybe that's 3 years
1:04:04 later
1:04:06 maybe one of the people from the AA
1:04:10 meeting that hung out while you set up
1:04:13 your little place stay and watched it
1:04:15 they happened to be a
1:04:16 producer and they say well let's produce
1:04:19 this off off Broadway and they give you
1:04:21 a $5,000
1:04:23 budget and then maybe three years after
1:04:27 that it turns into an Off Broadway play
1:04:29 and then maybe 10 years after that maybe
1:04:33 if you're
1:04:35 lucky you make it to
1:04:37 Broadway chances are you know
1:04:46 0.47% but now that same idea for that
1:04:50 story that happened in high school that
1:04:52 you were motivated enough to write a
1:04:54 play about you've got this
1:04:57 play and you move to New York City and
1:05:00 you're you're inspired by all the
1:05:01 activity and everyone's [ __ ]
1:05:04 driven and now you have two
1:05:07 choices you can try to find an AA
1:05:12 meeting and four or five
1:05:14 people to help you produce your vision
1:05:17 of your play to have in between AA
1:05:19 meetings in a church basement on the
1:05:21 Lower East Side
1:05:24 or you've got Sora
1:05:28 sunno
1:05:30 um Mid
1:05:32 Journey chat gbt all these tools and you
1:05:35 turn it into a [ __ ] independent
1:05:40 film and maybe you act in it but you
1:05:43 like do higher production value than was
1:05:46 ever even remotely possible you could do
1:05:48 dream sequences now where it's still
1:05:51 your face but now you're in a dream
1:05:53 sequence and you're flying around you're
1:05:54 doing special effects and you're stupid
1:05:56 little
1:05:57 story that that if you're lucky would
1:06:00 have been in a performance in between AA
1:06:03 meetings in a church basement and now
1:06:05 you have a [ __ ]
1:06:08 film that's going to happen so so the I
1:06:14 I I understand the fear the fear is
1:06:19 actors are ruined voiceover actors are
1:06:22 ruined they'll never use actors
1:06:25 again that Creative Energy goes
1:06:28 somewhere and when these tools get
1:06:31 democratized some of those actors that
1:06:33 got put out of work are going to start
1:06:35 making films that are so good that they
1:06:37 [ __ ] with the
1:06:42 studios it's not just a one-way
1:06:46 Street we get the [ __ ]
1:06:55 back
1:07:02 that's the possibility here people but
1:07:05 here's the thing if you're sitting on
1:07:06 the sidelines like this AI is awful AI
1:07:10 should never be allowed out of the house
1:07:12 AI is going to ruin everything AI is
1:07:14 going to take my job if you're just
1:07:15 sitting on the sidelines with your arm
1:07:17 crossed all pissed
1:07:19 off some little whipper snapper is going
1:07:22 to step in there and [ __ ] make a
1:07:25 movie
1:07:27 and have a whole [ __ ]
1:07:31 career because they were dumb enough to
1:07:35 learn
1:07:39 AI Wolf Man Clint hell's yeah Kyle yeah
1:07:47 man we we have no
1:07:50 concept like
1:07:54 imagine put yourself in the mindset of
1:07:57 someone who works on a farm in the
1:08:00 1870s or when when was the steam engine
1:08:03 invented 18 something right 1870s
1:08:09 80s and Along Comes this
1:08:14 machine that just makes funny noise and
1:08:18 spews white smoke
1:08:21 Steam and you're like oh well that's
1:08:24 whatever
1:08:26 and then someone like me says hey you
1:08:29 know what they're going to do they're
1:08:30 going to put that steam
1:08:33 engine um on a on a thing and they're
1:08:36 going to put wheels on it and that steam
1:08:38 engine is going to make the wheels turn
1:08:41 and then instead of horses pulling the
1:08:44 plow that that thing with the steam
1:08:47 engine on it is going to pull the
1:08:49 plow and you're like oh
1:08:52 [ __ ] farming's like I take care of the
1:08:55 horses what what what am I going to
1:08:58 do
1:08:59 well you move to the
1:09:03 city and there's a whole new kind of
1:09:07 work that
1:09:11 emerges in that case it happened to be
1:09:14 shitty but that person on the farm could
1:09:18 not imagine what those new jobs might be
1:09:22 that's right where we are right now
1:09:25 everyone's like oh no my job is going to
1:09:27 be over okay
1:09:29 maybe your job is definitely going to be
1:09:34 different and some jobs are going to be
1:09:37 over and then there's a whole
1:09:40 new skittles rainbow of jobs that are
1:09:43 coming that we in our current as
1:09:47 imaginative as we are right now it
1:09:51 there's a limit to it we can only see so
1:09:53 far in the future we can't imagine what
1:09:55 those jobs are right now cuz we don't
1:09:57 know what the tools
1:09:58 are the tools right now are janky pieces
1:10:02 of [ __ ] that don't resemble what they're
1:10:04 going to be at
1:10:08 all why I keep saying 2023 was the last
1:10:11 normal year is that this year is the
1:10:14 year where we're going to start to get
1:10:16 hints of what the new tools are going to
1:10:19 be and what the new tools are going to
1:10:21 do and we're going to be able to start
1:10:23 to piece part together what the future
1:10:25 might look like as we start to see those
1:10:27 more and more capable tools and 2023
1:10:30 will be the last year where we
1:10:31 essentially did everything the way we've
1:10:32 always done it just maybe a little bit
1:10:35 more efficient with these tools in the
1:10:39 mix
1:10:42 but everything's changing
1:10:45 everything rustic Farm wife like the
1:10:48 farm analogy great analogy Kyle thank
1:10:50 you rustic Farm wife digging digging
1:10:53 digging the farm the farm motif
1:10:56 is working for
1:10:58 her but it's just you
1:11:02 know how how could you imagine what a
1:11:04 city is if you've never known a city all
1:11:07 you know is that Farm Life as we know it
1:11:10 is
1:11:12 over and those big scary machines with
1:11:15 the giant wheels that can do the work of
1:11:17 10 horses what do you mean it does the
1:11:19 work of 10 horses what do you mean
1:11:21 they're coming out with one that does
1:11:23 the work of 50 horses you can't even
1:11:25 have 50 horses on the field at the same
1:11:29 time right like you just can't conceive
1:11:33 it
1:11:35 what we still call it
1:11:38 horsepower CU that was the only way you
1:11:40 could translate what we knew into what
1:11:43 the new thing
1:11:47 was it's cuckoo it's cuckoo I tell
1:11:52 you all right what else what else we got
1:11:54 going on here analyze images calculate
1:11:57 Dimensions create precise 3D models STI
1:12:01 STL files from those
1:12:05 insights let the Skittles art
1:12:07 [Laughter]
1:12:11 begin oh man has anyone making Skittles
1:12:14 art or Farm art yet let's go over to the
1:12:17 let's go over to the Irregulars Channel
1:12:18 and see what anyone's got going
1:12:24 on
1:12:26 AI learning
1:12:27 lab amazing
1:12:33 absurd videos poetry
1:12:37 art
1:12:42 yep I mean
1:12:45 imagine
1:12:48 academics approaching these tools with
1:12:50 an academic mindset and discovering
1:12:53 their creative voice
1:12:57 and and the other way around imagine
1:12:59 creatives exploring these tools and
1:13:01 discovering their academic voice or
1:13:05 their analytical voice the Sora horse
1:13:11 fly I have an
1:13:22 idea April 23rd RSVP soon the rabbit R1
1:13:27 is
1:13:29 coming what's the date the 25th less
1:13:32 than a month away
1:13:33 [Applause]
1:13:36 [Laughter]
1:13:38 [Music]
1:13:52 yay how's Story vine Kyle h it's going
1:13:57 it's
1:13:59 going weird weird just sort of lull
1:14:02 right now but fine things are rolling
1:14:09 along thank you for asking a waiting for
1:14:13 a robot a what a robotics to do my
1:14:17 mowing you can get that now Drew don't
1:14:20 they have mowers that you have to put a
1:14:22 perimeter around your place but and then
1:14:24 it'll just go and then I think there's
1:14:25 new versions of those mowing robots that
1:14:28 will learn your lawn
1:14:30 now I think I saw that the other day
1:14:33 that's out
1:14:34 there no Skittles AR I'm playing with
1:14:37 Herod D's program still in the queue oh
1:14:40 yeah her her Herod who who hung out in
1:14:43 here for a while I haven't seen him in a
1:14:44 bit but he's been working on he took his
1:14:47 um stable diffusion luras that do text
1:14:50 really well and he made a website what's
1:14:52 it called it's called um
1:15:00 heartsy h r t Sy y heartsy as in artsy
1:15:06 but
1:15:10 heartsy what happened where did it
1:15:17 go looks like his servers
1:15:19 are it looks like people are enjoying it
1:15:22 cuz the servers are not responding well
1:15:25 [Laughter]
1:15:28 but good for
1:15:30 him yeah I can't get it to load I'll
1:15:33 just let it sit there maybe it'll
1:15:40 load yes there are mowers out there just
1:15:43 like the vacuums that are
1:15:50 automated he's amazing hearts. a oh
1:15:54 heartsy doai okay
1:15:56 okay is that where I am here yeah there
1:15:59 you
1:16:02 go so what he's done so if you say get
1:16:08 started here's your different styles so
1:16:11 there's a playground where you're in
1:16:13 control of your design but then here's
1:16:16 pre-done styles that he's created like
1:16:18 speaking
1:16:20 Sushi this is one that'll you you put
1:16:23 your text in here so we'll do like AI
1:16:26 learning lab let's see let's say AI um
1:16:32 snacking
1:16:35 lab oh I have to log in dang
1:16:41 it log in successful get started let's
1:16:45 get this party
1:16:47 [Music]
1:16:48 started
1:16:50 AI
1:16:53 snacking snack
1:16:56 in lab the problem with doing something
1:16:59 cool like this is that if people start
1:17:02 using it a lot like his his rendering
1:17:05 bill is going to
1:17:08 be get his ass handed to him I
1:17:12 did this
1:17:16 earlier
1:17:20 ai ai earring earning earning learning
1:17:24 lab
1:17:27 janky is as janky does embrace the Jank
1:17:33 people pretty slick
1:17:38 huh so it's nice like if you're feeling
1:17:41 if you're feeling lazy and like I don't
1:17:43 feel like thinking about prompting and
1:17:45 prompt engineering can I
1:17:47 just have
1:17:50 it you
1:17:54 know
1:17:59 I hope he does well with
1:18:01 this
1:18:04 generate
1:18:07 Gallery oh
1:18:09 look oh it didn't get snacking it didn't
1:18:11 get the AI snacking lab but but anyway
1:18:16 there's our there's our little
1:18:19 Sushi the a
1:18:23 sacking pretty slick
1:18:28 hey. a if you want to go play with
1:18:33 that that'll save you some pain in the
1:18:35 ass so so what this is and this is this
1:18:39 is good to you know good to understand
1:18:42 what's going
1:18:46 on
1:18:48 so I talk in most of what I talk about
1:18:51 in here are commercial applications
1:18:53 right so I talk about Ardo for example
1:18:56 or I talk about open AI chat
1:18:59 GPT what I tend not to talk about are
1:19:03 open- Source models and things like
1:19:05 stable
1:19:06 diffusion which is has got a whole bunch
1:19:09 of different open source models and then
1:19:12 a whole developer Community around it
1:19:14 the reason I don't talk about them is
1:19:15 that it's it's super technical to get it
1:19:18 set up and it just doesn't lend itself
1:19:20 well to this format so there are some
1:19:23 people that do it I just I'm not good at
1:19:25 enough at it I don't have the head for
1:19:28 it
1:19:29 but like
1:19:31 Herod loved geeking out in stable
1:19:34 diffusion and he just geeked out and
1:19:36 geeked out and he learned what luras
1:19:37 were and he learned how to fine-tune
1:19:39 them and he learned what checkpoints
1:19:40 were and all that sort of stuff and he
1:19:44 figured out how to train
1:19:46 up a stable diffusion Laura to do text
1:19:49 correctly when stable diffusion can't do
1:19:52 text so he got stable diffusion to do do
1:19:56 what Del does and what ideogram does and
1:19:59 so he took that and he took the recipes
1:20:02 that he liked put those in an interface
1:20:05 stuck it on the web and that's what that
1:20:07 is so that's that's a think of that as a
1:20:09 pre-prom site sitting on top of
1:20:15 custom luras that which are basically
1:20:18 just the models that that it uses to
1:20:19 make the typography well sitting on top
1:20:22 of stable
1:20:24 diffusion so that's why to play with
1:20:27 things like stable diffusion and with
1:20:29 open source is that you can come up with
1:20:31 ideas and stumble on stuff that no one
1:20:33 else has figured out yet and then put it
1:20:36 out in the world and if you get there
1:20:38 first and you do it best and then you're
1:20:40 good at the running and growing the
1:20:42 company part you can have a a big
1:20:45 success on your
1:20:46 hands so that's why to geek out that's
1:20:49 why to go beyond just the commercial
1:20:54 stuff but you don't need
1:20:56 to and I think it's one of the big
1:20:58 misconceptions about AI right now is
1:21:01 that you have to be a geek you don't
1:21:04 have to be a geek you just need to be
1:21:05 good with your
1:21:08 words words of the new programming
1:21:10 language Lang language is the new
1:21:12 programming language I got a hold of him
1:21:15 oh cool great say hi for me Sherry
1:21:20 D trying to get him on the live nice
1:21:23 cool yeah
1:21:25 I'd like to hear about his like it'll be
1:21:28 cool to see how long how long it's been
1:21:30 up and and how overrun his servers are
1:21:34 cuz I I bet his his rendering bill is
1:21:37 just going tick tick tick tick tick tick
1:21:38 tick
1:21:39 tick I hope he's got the you know the
1:21:43 1,700 bucks a day that it's going to
1:21:45 start costing him it's like
1:21:50 [ __ ] which you know what's funny the
1:21:53 reason so mid Journey mid Journey
1:21:55 started out there was a free there was a
1:21:58 free layer ideogram right now has a free
1:22:01 layer um Leonardo has a free
1:22:03 layer most of these softwares at some
1:22:07 point take the free layer away because
1:22:10 it's
1:22:13 expensive so if they can't get people to
1:22:15 subscribe then
1:22:17 uh then they got bills they got to deal
1:22:24 with the models take up a couple of gigs
1:22:27 but you can also merge models and lurs
1:22:29 together and run them yeah and he's
1:22:30 probably I'm sure he's running stuff up
1:22:32 in the cloud like on on Google collab or
1:22:36 you know maybe he's got you know
1:22:37 something running on on Amazon or Google
1:22:45 servers he's having money leave his
1:22:47 wallet probably yeah short term that's
1:22:50 that's how you have to start this
1:22:52 [ __ ] did you see the new Sora stuff from
1:22:56 today yeah we we actually watched all
1:22:58 those videos from that Sora announcement
1:23:00 today it wasn't really an announcement
1:23:02 it was just kind of like cool people are
1:23:04 using Sora look what cool people can
1:23:07 do but there were
1:23:10 only there were only two or three of
1:23:12 those videos that like a couple of them
1:23:14 were like 8 seconds long and there were
1:23:17 only a handful that were real story
1:23:19 telling the one with the balloon head
1:23:20 guy that was that was really well
1:23:22 done I if if I were advising them if if
1:23:26 samon called me up and said hey should
1:23:28 we should we launch these things i''d be
1:23:31 like why don't you get some storytellers
1:23:33 to do some more
1:23:36 storytelling but
1:23:38 whatever they're
1:23:40 just I think it's a good PR move for
1:23:43 them to say hey look the creative
1:23:45 Community is excited about this
1:23:47 tool and you know they they
1:23:50 pick they pick the right comments from
1:23:53 the creatives to say
1:23:55 it's not about replacing the old people
1:23:57 it's about doing new stuff that could
1:23:59 never be done
1:24:02 before all
1:24:04 right yeah
1:24:23 whatever yeah the balloon guy was the
1:24:25 best yeah that's why they LED with that
1:24:27 wait a second what happened to Frank
1:24:30 what do you mean what happened to Frank
1:24:32 nothing happened to
1:24:34 Frank although Frank
1:24:38 Frank's Frank's uh Frank's calendar
1:24:41 commitment is a little janky
1:24:45 an we could do a Frank tonight I don't
1:24:49 know what I don't know what we what do
1:24:51 we do is there a news item we could do
1:24:53 tonight there's probably a news item we
1:24:54 could do tonight Joker ate it yeah
1:24:57 exactly someone ate
1:25:01 Frank that's Frank's problem is he's
1:25:04 just too [ __ ]
1:25:08 tasty any experience with mistr no not
1:25:11 really again like I said I haven't done
1:25:13 it I haven't done a ton with the open
1:25:15 source stuff just because it's moving
1:25:17 too fast what my problem with open
1:25:21 source stuff is like Mist will come out
1:25:23 and they'll say okay here here's this
1:25:25 new 8X mix of experts thing
1:25:29 great the the developer Community then
1:25:32 pounces on it and then they spin up like
1:25:36 30 different versions of it that you
1:25:40 know here's a version of it you know
1:25:42 modified for legal stuff and here's a
1:25:43 version of it modified to make it more
1:25:45 efficient and here's a version that can
1:25:47 run on a phone and here's and and just
1:25:49 keeping track of every single model
1:25:51 splintering into a thousand different
1:25:53 models it's just it's I can't it's I
1:25:58 just so at some point someone like like
1:26:02 in
1:26:04 fact here's what I wait for cuz this is
1:26:08 just the only way this is the only way I
1:26:10 know how to manage this [ __ ] is I will
1:26:13 wait for something like this if you go
1:26:15 to grock
1:26:16 gq.com
1:26:18 is it. I think it
1:26:21 is
1:26:23 yeah so so this is actually a hardware
1:26:27 demo right so grock is a is a chip
1:26:30 manufacturer that manufactures these
1:26:33 super efficient chips for inference
1:26:36 which is when when you prompt a large
1:26:39 language model it's called it's called
1:26:42 inference and so they're demoing how
1:26:46 good their chips are here but look here
1:26:49 here's the mixl 8X 7B so I can I can now
1:26:53 go here and play with this without
1:26:54 without having to [ __ ] install it on
1:26:56 hugging face and you know create a repo
1:27:00 and clone the repo and what whatever the
1:27:03 [ __ ] you got a pull and the push and the
1:27:06 requests and the commits I I just I have
1:27:08 commitment issues so I just wait for
1:27:11 someone like grock to put it out there
1:27:13 so then I can do like uh make me a poem
1:27:17 about
1:27:19 sushi and
1:27:22 sunshine boom look how fast this [ __ ]
1:27:25 thing is
1:27:27 567 tokens a second so that's like 450
1:27:33 words a second you should use the
1:27:35 Irregulars in your Frank skits we can
1:27:38 opt in with
1:27:41 permission that's an interesting idea
1:27:44 Tobias yeah that's kind of
1:27:47 fun we need more Jank with Frank I know
1:27:50 I
1:27:51 know I'm writing a Broadway musical
1:27:54 people Frank's going to have to wait
1:27:56 Michael Cohen what oh oh that what Frank
1:28:00 could talk about oh that's pretty
1:28:03 funny harod what's happening uh if you
1:28:07 want to come up on stage hit the uh like
1:28:10 do the do whatever you do to come up on
1:28:13 stage I'll bring you up here we can
1:28:14 chat um congratulations on on uh hardy
1:28:19 hardy a we were just demoing
1:28:23 it
1:28:40 yeah I know I know Herod you well you
1:28:42 know what the thing is Herod once he
1:28:44 completely reinvented stable diffusion
1:28:46 text generation he forgot about us he
1:28:49 forgot about the little
1:28:50 people that was someone asked me
1:28:53 yesterday so
1:28:55 if you do this big Broadway play are you
1:28:57 going to remember us I'm like [ __ ]
1:29:00 no Herod dropped us like a hot
1:29:05 potato all right which one are we going
1:29:07 to do let's do we'll do wild style
1:29:10 because it's a it's a good one words of
1:29:13 wild style say
1:29:16 um let's see
1:29:19 welcome
1:29:21 back C cter
1:29:25 welcome welcome
1:29:30 back hey everyone I love you and miss
1:29:32 you all I know we miss you you you were
1:29:34 you were a big part of this for a while
1:29:36 congratulations on this I know building
1:29:37 this stuff is is [ __ ] crazy did you
1:29:40 did you get a partner with this or did
1:29:42 you um or you have you doing this all on
1:29:45 your
1:29:46 own because if you're doing it on your
1:29:48 own that's a it's a heavy lift I love
1:29:51 the AI Salon Community you guys are
1:29:53 special and definitely different than
1:29:54 the the rest of
1:29:55 this thank you Cosmic Glover I agree
1:29:58 with that yes Frank should make a guest
1:30:00 appearance we should I'll show I'll show
1:30:02 Herod How We Do how how we make
1:30:05 Frank remember
1:30:10 who all right let's see how's it
1:30:13 going how are you welcome
1:30:16 back dreams are your ticket
1:30:20 out have a small Dev team congrats man
1:30:23 that's awesome
1:30:25 super cool yeah let me see Frank all
1:30:27 right we'll make a we'll make a Frank
1:30:29 thing um he's supposed to do AI news I
1:30:33 okay I need an AI news story that's
1:30:35 that's good for
1:30:37 today who's so let me go jump over to
1:30:43 the site Adobe
1:30:47 Express maybe we can just make a a
1:30:50 repository of Frank ideas on Mighty
1:30:52 Network that's not a bad idea actually
1:30:57 all right so what you do is you come
1:31:03 into you come into Adobe Express
1:31:06 express. Adobe oh show him the first one
1:31:13 okay all right let me show you the very
1:31:16 first
1:31:17 Frank so Frank Frank was born one night
1:31:21 on the lives when someone said hey check
1:31:24 check out the new Adobe character
1:31:26 animator thing it's called animate from
1:31:29 audio which is a shitty name but that's
1:31:32 okay so I'm going to go Tik
1:31:34 Tock AI learning
1:31:40 lab and then here's here's Frank so I
1:31:45 come down to the field to play the game
1:31:46 and they're like hey Frank Frank what
1:31:48 are you doing I'm like I'm here for the
1:31:50 game they're like Frank it's Thursday
1:31:53 there's no game today I'm like you got
1:31:55 to be [ __ ] kidding me there's no game
1:31:57 today I'm ready for the game they're
1:31:59 like Frank Frank you look [ __ ]
1:32:01 delicious I'm like hey hey hey back up
1:32:04 hey whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa get your
1:32:06 hands off my
1:32:07 butt oh my goodness so so I leave I go
1:32:11 down to the the biggly wiggly there I
1:32:13 get myself a soda I come back they're
1:32:14 like they're like they're like Frank uh
1:32:16 we we got an issue like what's that it's
1:32:18 like Tommy's here oh what do you mean
1:32:21 Tommy's here Tommy's here what what's
1:32:24 going on with toy T's hungry oh no no no
1:32:29 no no Frank it's going to be okay it's
1:32:32 not going to be okay you know T doesn't
1:32:34 stop it [ __ ] eating oh my oh Tommy
1:32:37 Tommy no don't oh God oh
1:32:40 God so that's that that's Frank's final
1:32:43 day U so now Frank has his own Twitter
1:32:51 Channel called The Daily Jank with Frank
1:32:54 so if you go to daily Jank you can see
1:32:58 you can see Frank's little
1:33:00 Channel see daily Jen with
1:33:04 Frank he's got his own little news
1:33:07 channel let's see we'll play a little
1:33:10 let's see a new slice of
1:33:13 pie what's this
1:33:16 one Friday I'm
1:33:19 Frank yeah welcome to the Daily Jank
1:33:21 with Frank it's March 8th 2024 it's a
1:33:23 Friday I'm Frank well what went on in a
1:33:26 week of AI that was quite a bit I'll
1:33:29 tell you that right now so so uh so
1:33:31 here's one here's one I didn't talk
1:33:33 about before mid Journey you know it's
1:33:35 this image generation thing makes all
1:33:37 the pretty pictures anyway last Saturday
1:33:39 night a bunch of people from competitor
1:33:41 stability AI sneak into their servers
1:33:44 and get [ __ ] busted they caught them
1:33:46 all so now they're all banned and they
1:33:48 can't use it and everybody's going
1:33:49 boohoo so so they're kind of fighting
1:33:51 then you got Elon Musk fighting with Sam
1:33:53 Al we talk about that a lot and and then
1:33:55 you got the the the different models
1:33:57 going you got your you got your open AI
1:33:59 right the jet jp4 then you got this in
1:34:03 that's that the the fun ones were when
1:34:05 when we talked about um Elon elon's a
1:34:09 piece of work I think this is the
1:34:11 one so welcome to the Daily Jank with
1:34:13 Frank it's uh March 6 2024 so this Elon
1:34:17 mus guy what a piece of work anyway so
1:34:20 here's what's going on on his x.com they
1:34:23 used to call it qu you know whatever
1:34:25 x.com Twitter doesn't matter on that
1:34:27 thing he's got he says to Sam Alman he
1:34:30 says I'll drop the lawsuit if you change
1:34:33 the name of your company from open AI to
1:34:36 closed AI that's [ __ ] hilarious what
1:34:39 a piece of work anyway that's Elon Musk
1:34:42 he's going nuts so anyway that's it Sam
1:34:46 back Frank it's March 2024 you know the
1:34:50 other day I did a story on Elon Musk
1:34:52 some an open AI there Sammy Sammy Alman
1:34:55 saying uh hey you're moving too fast for
1:34:57 us and uh you changed your company from
1:35:00 a nonprofit to a for-profit he was kind
1:35:02 of Crybaby and things like that anyway
1:35:04 uh looks like Samy's swinging back so uh
1:35:07 the kids over there at open AI they uh
1:35:09 they wrote a little letter they got the
1:35:10 receipts they uh they said hey Elon uh
1:35:13 we we have a we have a proposition for
1:35:15 you here uh thanks for the lawsuit and
1:35:17 uh our response is why don't you go
1:35:19 ahead and go [ __ ] yourself okay all
1:35:21 right all right yeah anyway
1:35:24 all right so that's Frank so and and
1:35:26 it's the daily Jank so I wisely named it
1:35:29 the daily Jank implying that I would be
1:35:31 doing these things daily and now I
1:35:33 haven't done it and people are cranky
1:35:35 but anyway let's here's how you go make
1:35:38 those so you go to Adobe Express and you
1:35:40 go an animate you search for animate
1:35:43 with audio I don't know how to find it
1:35:44 from the menus because it's
1:35:47 buried and then you go find you start
1:35:50 with a character and all the characters
1:35:52 suck Herod D you the the quality of the
1:35:55 artwork here is just it is janky is as
1:35:58 janky does I think Frank's one of the
1:36:00 better one of the better ones it's just
1:36:03 bad but whatever it's like all right so
1:36:07 you you put in your
1:36:10 Frank we've also got um we've also got
1:36:14 uh Farber who should have been named
1:36:16 Faber for the
1:36:18 pencil um and then we're going to
1:36:23 upload
1:36:25 Frank's
1:36:26 background which of course we made in I
1:36:28 think I made it
1:36:30 in um ideogram
1:36:35 actually but now I can make it in
1:36:38 Hardy let's see
1:36:43 Jank name contains Jank is that it
1:36:48 nope that's it okay all right so now
1:36:52 Frank has a background
1:36:57 and the way this
1:36:59 works is you basically just record and
1:37:02 then it does all the animation for you
1:37:04 so we're going to enhance voice now I
1:37:06 got to come up with a story let me go
1:37:08 anybody have any story ideas has anyone
1:37:10 been dumping story ideas in there or you
1:37:13 just leaving me on my own to fail
1:37:16 miserably come on come on
1:37:20 people um so you're not doing Frank
1:37:22 anymore I'm doing it right now CW you
1:37:24 can't you see
1:37:26 that this is this is Real Time
1:37:29 [Laughter]
1:37:34 Entertainment suo
1:37:37 Sora who watches the news anymore I was
1:37:40 writing a
1:37:45 book stable oh oh oh yeah stable
1:37:48 diffusion
1:37:50 CEO no he didn't get fired is that what
1:37:53 happened Sherry D he quit didn't
1:37:56 he no that's not why he left is that why
1:37:59 he
1:38:00 left hang
1:38:02 on are you sure about
1:38:07 that is that actually what happened well
1:38:10 that's going to be the [ __ ] story
1:38:12 hang
1:38:13 on um
1:38:16 stability CEO cuz cuz Frank did the
1:38:19 story on that when they got caught
1:38:22 stable diffusion wait stable the fusion
1:38:24 is blocked from going to Mid Journey
1:38:27 because of the big breach that I
1:38:30 knew but are we sure those two are
1:38:34 connected stable diffusion got C CEO got
1:38:37 fired after stealing from mid
1:38:42 Journey wait stability CEO mid Journey
1:38:47 let me see if I got to listen Frank
1:38:50 Frank can't just this is hot off the
1:38:52 grill news that's good oh that's so good
1:38:55 Silver Fox we'll use that tonight okay
1:38:57 but we can't just we can't just do
1:39:00 speculation here we have to do real
1:39:02 reporting stability CEO has resigned
1:39:04 from his position to
1:39:07 pursue to pursue greener pastures then
