28. 6:20And so today at like 11:30, I had two choices. I could do work or I could go live on YouTube. And I chose the latter.

30. 6:53Um, what was interesting about it was at one point we had like 27 people on it and then it it was like oscillating
31. 6:59pretty wildly. Um, but Brandon looked at the stats and it it he said um we had I think 74 views to that live today. I was
32. 7:09only live for like 10 minutes so you didn't miss anything. I was I was literally just like looking at the
33. 7:14screen and occasionally someone would ask a question. And Vicki was the first one in V. So Vicki gets the gold star.
34. 7:22Yeah, my shoulder my shoulder is killing me, people. I uh I uh I slept on it weird last night and it's just and then
35. 7:30I thumped it this morning. You know those thumpers? So I bruised I bruised the thing that was really hurt and so now it's just shitty.

45. 9:51So so actually here's this is this is fascinating. This is the state of where we are with AI right now. So so a local
46. 9:59friend here in Denver tried to get me a job I don't know a month or so ago and if I didn't respond quick enough someone
47. 10:06else got it. And so like two weeks ago he's like hey I got this I got this other video job. Do you want to do it? I
48. 10:12was like I don't know. I like I don't know if I don't know if the video's I don't know if the text's good enough
49. 10:17right now to get like you know to get actually paid for this [ __ ] And so they sent me over the script and
50. 10:23unfortunately it's a comedy script. It's only a minute and a half long but it's a comedy script and then on top of that
51. 10:29it's based on two real people which I had to turn into AI people and then they interact with a cartoon character. So, so,
52. 10:41so I sort of reluctantly took the job and then, you know, I said, "Let me see if I can even get it to the point where
53. 10:47you think it's decent enough." And when I talked to the woman who hired me, she's like, "I've already had three
54. 10:53people try this and they've all failed miserably." I'm like, "Oh, god." Like, the the expectations are already high.
55. 10:59So, anyway, so I've been working on that. So, the time that I normally spend on X preparing for this has been eaten by that. So anyway,

62. 12:04this way for my project, which I probably should. I've got that I've got that ADD problem. I've got that ADD suite of problems. Um,
63. 12:16I've got that ADD problem of, yeah, I'll get to a real prompt in a second. Let me just see if I can get it to give me a
64. 12:23decent result now. And then when it gives me a decent result, I'm like, I don't need to do that real prompting.
65. 12:29And so consequently, I'm not learning anything. So that's bad. That's bad. So we can play with that tonight.

103. 17:31groceries and book travel vacations to obscure locations with a family of four with with two kids with allergies.
104. 17:49Bitter. You betcha. Uh, we have another use case. It's just it's just not legal when citizens do it. Exactly. Exactly. Um,
105. 18:04all right. They're trying to make it as relatable as possible. And look, look at Vicki coming in with a sensible answer.
106. 18:12I appreciate that, Vicki. But I, it's really hard for me to be bitter when you're being that sensible. Um, oh yeah,
107. 18:19and booking vacations to European countries while they go through demographic collapse. Yeah, we've all lost our privacy thanks to
108. 18:31Google. And they're like, you can you can get some you can get some stuff from Door Dash. Just think about all the people that
109. 18:43don't know about AI or scared of it. It's not aimed at us. Yeah, you know, Vicki, you're right. The the other thing
110. 18:49that kind of blows me away about this is that the thing I continue to see and I like I wonder how we're going to break out of
111. 19:00this or if we're going to break out of this is that every one of these major companies is just copying one another,
112. 19:06right? The Perplexity Comet came out and then just every browser it's exactly the same thing. It's a right-hand, you know,
113. 19:17uh, chat GPT Gemini bar to the right that looks at your tabs and does stuff. They're all doing exactly the same thing.
114. 19:29But didn't this happen with search? Um, no. Because I mean I mean I suppose it did a bit there. There were a fair amount of search
115. 19:42engines but like you you Yahoo was a directory right? Yahoo was not a search engine initially. It was it was like an
116. 19:49organiz attempt to organize the internet put it into a hierarchical hierarchical you know framework. Um Alta Vista was
117. 20:01the first one to really crack web crawling and have a good a good search experience. And then it was really
118. 20:09shortlived. It was like 6 months and then Google came out and it just it blew everyone out of the water. My co-workers
119. 20:16are tired of me shooting down their objections, too. Oh, that's funny, Vicki. Um
120. 20:32I I don't know. Like I just I I find it disappointing I feel like they're all copying each other's algorithms. They're copying each
121. 20:43other's interface. They're copying each other's browsers. They've all got some version of codecs, some some, you know, command line
122. 20:52interface programming language like like no like perplexity. I I wouldn't consider Perplexity one of the major companies, but at least they
123. 21:03did something different where they they said, "What would it be like if you truly combine a search engine with an LLM?"
124. 21:12And it's doing something different. And I I will actually give credit also to Notebook LM, which is a Google product,
125. 21:20that that thing is a unique product in the in the in the marketplace. Um, but all the major companies, they're
126. 21:28all doing the exact same thing. And it's like, how how the [ __ ] are we going to innovate if all you guys are doing is
127. 21:33chasing each other's tails. Anyway, >> I I gota I gotta jump up for just a second, though, because I I think every
128. 21:39industry does this to a certain extent as it matures. I mean, you look at the fast food chains, everyone does combo
129. 21:45meals, everyone has the drive-thru, everyone has uh the the select your own pop outside. They're all they all have
130. 21:52their own version of their their >> thing, but But that but that industry but that industry is stabilized. We're
131. 22:00we're in a growing industry where where the the the world of you know AI fast food is being invented. We haven't
132. 22:07invented it yet. So copying each other when you're in the middle of of an invention phase that's that's what seems
133. 22:14bizarre to me. That's the thing I don't get. >> Yeah. like like for anything that's stabilized like like

136. 22:34out and connecting with other communities. and she said her experience right now is a lot of other communities
137. 22:38are being really kind of dicky about not wanting to collaborate with her community that they're they're kind of
138. 22:45you know staying in their corner like well this is my audience and I don't want you infecting my audience or you
139. 22:51know scamming my audience. Um there there is going to be so much demand for things like communities and education and things like that as as
140. 23:03this thing takes off and and it's not going to stabilize. AI is not going to stabilize for probably a decade.

153. 24:58that was another thing like like the the way um Lumalabs marketed Ray 3. It felt a lot like how you edit nano banana
154. 25:08images but this is with video. It's just like I don't know. Everyone's copying everyone else. I I find it annoying. Um

161. 26:15inventing all sorts of ways to display images and compress images. Um, and and anyone who was building
162. 26:23websites, we're also running down like like as sanitized as web development is today where we're all just using
163. 26:30templates and everything looks the [ __ ] same. From like 95 to probably 98 99 there was like four years
164. 26:39where just everyone was experimenting and it was it was really alive feeling. And this is just feeling like maybe it's
165. 26:47because things are moving so fast that people are just trying to keep up. That could be it. Um Eric Trong um there is so much
166. 26:57opportunity to rock dead industries with vibe coding. Yeah. Find the what's that say? Find the find the stale

170. 27:26can't update them anymore. They're still functional, but probably not for long. And we're like, "Oh, we've got to find a
171. 27:32thing to to, you know, do that." And I'm like, well, I could probably just vibe code something like that up in in a
172. 27:39couple of hours. Um, so yeah, you can take any pain point in any industry right now, vibe co code some solution to
173. 27:47it. Jim Ross did this in the in the storage business where what he realized was there was no really good self-
174. 27:55storage community um like a a a you know, a site that allowed for like advertising and things like that. and he just [ __ ] vibecoded it up.
175. 28:05And he like he vibecoded it up and then he showed it to two or three people in the industry and two of the four people
176. 28:13he showed it to um said, "Can I advertise on that thing?" He's got no users and people are asking him because
177. 28:20it was so much better than what was there. So, I totally agree with you on that one. There's there's this massive
178. 28:25opportunity right now. I'll tell you what, if you're here, if you're watching this, if you're watching some old man on
179. 28:31[ __ ] Tik Tok and YouTube ramble about AI, you're a curious enough and and insane enough to um you're way ahead of anyone
180. 28:44else right now. So going into markets or industries that are still afraid of AI that are sitting on the sidelines just
181. 28:53trying to pretend it's not happening. If you go into those industries and solve problems that they have,
182. 29:00especially if it's an industry that you know where you kind of know what the core problems are, you will occur to
183. 29:06people like a [ __ ] magician, right? You'll be able to come in and go, "Oh, no. I can make you a custom one of
184. 29:11those. Do you want your very own?" Um, so, so yeah, I would strongly encourage that. I think there's big opportunity there.
