Description

Come binge on some AI-generated candy with us in the AI learning lab,. and join the conversation at https://community.thesalon.ai In a lively Halloween-themed stream, Kyle Shannon dives into the recent Universal Music Group (UMG) lawsuit settlement with AI music generator Udio. He explains that as part of the deal, Udio has disabled song downloads but is offering users a temporary 48-hour window to retrieve their past creations. This leads to a compelling comparison with competitor Suno, which Kyle notes has been rapidly innovating with new features and models. He suggests that as major labels exert more control over platforms like Udio, the creative community will likely push for and accelerate the development of powerful open-source AI music alternatives. The conversation then shifts to hands-on creative work, with Kyle demonstrating how to generate and animate a variety of spooky images in Midjourney using simple prompts and style references. In a humorous highlight, he uses Runway to create a talking character who complains about the Udio download situation, showcasing a practical and entertaining use of multiple AI tools. This creative session underscores a key theme: the importance of establishing a personal, human-centric daily practice with AI. Kyle encourages viewers to focus on using these evolving tools to amplify their own creativity and goals, rather than getting overwhelmed by the rapid pace of technological change. 🎙️ New to streaming or looking to level up? 0:28 Wow.
0:39 Sitting in this lonel
0:42 [singing and music] wonder when things
0:43 going to change.
0:47 Dream my life away. [singing]
0:49 Saints these dreams have turned [music]
0:51 to a bunch class.
0:55 Get my love up, but my past is pulling
0:59 me [singing] down.
1:02 [music] Wondering how long
1:05 this black sheep [singing]
1:07 won't stick around.
1:13 >> Somebody told me once before, you can
1:15 never [singing] go home again.
1:18 Won't you leave? [music]
1:21 wants to [singing] steer me away. Yeah.
1:24 From the truth of who I [music] am and
1:26 [singing] what I believe. So I thanked
1:28 him for his two cents [music] with a
1:30 handshake
1:32 and some sympathy. [singing] Yeah. I
1:35 packed up my blue jeans [music]
1:37 and I headed [singing] for this big
1:39 prize [music]
1:42 of my freedom.
1:45 Bye-bye [singing] black sheep. [music]
1:48 To the black sheep of the family.
1:53 [singing]
1:56 Oh, it means so very much to me. Byebye.
1:59 [singing]
2:01 Black [music] sheep to my friends and my
2:04 family.
2:07 Bye-bye.
2:08 [singing]
2:11 Set my soul.
2:14 Set it free. [singing]
2:18 >> [music]
2:23 >> Friday night date night. Good people.
2:24 What's happening out there in Tik Tok
2:26 land? Hey, Tik Tockers. Look at that
2:28 hair. Look at that hair. I did that just
2:29 for you. That's scary hair. Scary hair
2:32 on a scary night.
2:35 [music]
2:39 Is today the anniversary of the epic
2:41 battle? I I mean I think the real
2:44 question Don't Don't we think that the
2:46 real question is will Dar have the guts
2:49 to come back tonight? I don't think so.
2:52 [laughter]
2:55 Oh, good lordy. Good lordy. Good lordy.
2:58 Good lordy. Good lord. I invited her.
3:03 [music]
3:14 Let us be lovers. We'll marry our
3:17 fortunes together.
3:21 [music] I've got some real estate here
3:23 in my bed.
3:26 [music]
3:27 So, we bought a [singing] pack of
3:28 cigarettes
3:30 and Mrs. Wagles pies.
3:33 And we've all [singing] come to the for
3:36 America.
3:42 [music]
3:56 [music]
3:58 Kathy, I said as we boarded the
4:01 Greyhound from Pittsburgh,
4:05 Michigan seems like a dream to me now.
4:08 [music]
4:10 It took it took me four days to hitch
4:13 from Saga.
4:15 I've come [singing and music] to look
4:17 for America.
4:21 Um
4:26 >> [music]
4:29 >> What are we going to talk about tonight?
4:32 I gave you homework. Did everybody do
4:34 your homework? Did anybody do your
4:35 homework? Let me go look at the
4:38 community feed and see if we got some
4:39 action in there.
4:42 Ah, we got a Liz Miller Gersfeld in
4:44 there. We got a Brandon Tit in there.
4:46 Fantastic. What else do we got in there?
4:50 Beautiful. It's beautiful. Love the
4:52 encouragement for a challenge. I dreamt
4:54 up my costume
4:56 this summer was when I was sketching out
4:58 my unemployment blog series
5:01 [laughter]
5:03 with an entry entitled [ __ ] Your $10
5:06 coffee.
5:08 [laughter]
5:14 Oh [ __ ] there was homework. Uh, my dog
5:16 ate it. [laughter]
5:22 >> [music]
5:23 >> It's quite the do, right? You're you're
5:24 impressed with the hair. Thank you. I
5:27 should probably I think I have a little
5:29 water here. I think we can I think we've
5:31 got the technology to tame this. Let me
5:34 go Let me go full screen here so I can
5:37 use my screen as a mirror.
5:40 That's really bad. [laughter]
5:44 Come on. You can you can calm down.
5:47 Everybody can just take a little chill
5:49 pill. All right, everybody can just calm
5:52 down about Uncle Kyle's shitty hair.
5:56 [laughter]
5:59 Champ's making fun of me. The irregulars
6:02 are having a field day making images.
6:06 Is it good? Not really. [laughter]
6:09 You know, listen, normally see our hair,
6:13 our hair and makeup crew, they like to
6:15 take Halloween off. [laughter]
6:23 Oh, good lord. Good lordy. Good lordy.
6:28 [music]
6:34 [music]
6:39 [music]
6:44 >> [music]
6:51 [music]
6:56 [music]
7:03 [music]
7:08 [music]
7:10 >> Hello.
7:16 [music]
7:25 [music]
7:31 [music]
7:35 Woo!
7:40 >> [music]
7:43 >> Hello.
7:45 [music]
7:52 Hello.
8:11 >> [music]
8:18 [music]
8:21 >> Oh.
8:22 Um, last night
8:27 I talked about the
8:29 Universal Music UIO lawsuit settlement
8:34 which basically
8:36 buried Ude. [laughter]
8:40 Um, and they turned off downloads.
8:43 Apparently, they're going to start your
8:46 ability to download your UDO songs that
8:49 you've made. They're going to give
8:51 people 48 hours starting Monday, I
8:53 think. I think that's when it is.
8:56 [music] So, if you've got songs on Ude,
8:58 you want to get them off there, you can.
9:01 [music]
9:06 [music]
9:11 [music]
9:17 >> [music]
9:23 [music]
9:29 [music]
9:34 [music]
9:40 [music]
9:46 [music]
9:52 >> Okay, let's get this show on the road,
9:56 people. Let's get it going. What are we
9:58 going to do tonight? What are we going
10:01 to do? Let's see. Brandon
10:04 Brandon made himself a pumpkin talker.
10:08 Let's go look at Oh, look at that. Very
10:11 nice. Very nice.
10:14 Disconnect mic on tab. Share the tab.
10:22 Jack speaks live.
10:26 Hey, pumpkin.
10:31 Hey, pumpkin.
10:39 Hi, Jack.
10:42 Why don't you tell me something?
10:48 Hey, Jack.
10:50 Wait. Hey, what is it? Hey, pumpkin.
10:53 [laughter]
10:55 He should be speaking. Oh, wait. Let's
10:57 see. He's not speaking.
11:00 Uh, let me reload. This could be bad
11:03 memory issues.
11:06 Mic off. Mic on. Hey, pumpkin. [snorts]
11:13 Hey, pumpkin. Happy Halloween.
11:21 >> You're welcome. What's brewing in your
11:23 cauldron tonight?
11:24 >> Um, I'm I'm just sitting here at at my
11:27 AI Learning Lab Live on Halloween. We
11:30 got trick-or-treaters coming. The dog's
11:32 probably going to bark. And now I'm
11:34 talking to a pumpkin that didn't exist
11:36 yesterday.
11:37 >> That's the perfect place to summon some
11:39 Halloween magic. Are you experimenting
11:42 with anything spooky or creative this
11:44 evening?
11:44 >> Just Just producer Brandon. He He's
11:47 spooky every night.
11:49 [laughter]
11:55 >> Boo. Sounds like you've got a year round
11:58 spirit in Brandon. [laughter] Maybe he
12:00 takes his cues from Halloween's magic.
12:03 Do you think he'd win a costume contest?
12:07 >> No. No. He's actually very nice. He's a
12:10 very sweet man.
12:13 [clears throat]
12:18 Boo. No need to worry. I'm just a
12:20 friendly jacko'lantern here to light up
12:23 your Halloween night. Perhaps we can
12:26 chat about your costume plans or
12:28 favorite spooky treats.
12:29 >> Nice. All right. So, if you want to play
12:31 with this, go to pumpkinpal.loable.app.
12:37 [laughter]
12:39 Hey there. I'm all about the Halloween
12:42 magic tonight. Want to chat about spooky
12:45 creativity or maybe share a Halloween
12:47 story?
12:52 >> I see. Oh, there you go.
12:54 [snorts and clears throat] Um,
12:57 hey there. I'm Jack, your Halloween
12:59 digital jacko'lantern pal. What magical
13:02 Halloween fun can we chat about it
13:04 tonight?
13:04 >> So, so Cosmic Lover wants to know how
13:07 did he make this? Um, he vibe coded it,
13:10 so it's a lovable site. So, he just
13:13 described it, but Brandon, you want to
13:14 come up and tell the good people what
13:16 you did here and how long it took?
13:18 >> Yeah.
13:19 >> Sure. The number of days it took you,
13:21 the weeks of toil.
13:23 So it took approximately an hour start
13:27 to finish from idea to uh full
13:30 deployment. I started in Chad GPT and
13:33 had the idea in my head of what I wanted
13:35 to do of making that talking
13:36 jacko'lantern vibecoded website. So I
13:40 asked Chad GPT for the lovable prompt.
13:43 Took it into lovable and gave lovable
13:46 the prompt. Lovable started coding.
13:49 lovable cloud took my 11 Labs key
13:52 because I'm using 11 Labs for the voice
13:55 of the pumpkin uh and open AI key. I I
13:59 registered a key through the developer
14:01 platform 11labs to get the 11labs key
14:04 and I registered a key with the
14:07 developer playground or platform.ai.com
14:11 >> to get a chat GBT key to process the
14:14 audio and process the text to speech.
14:16 So, cuz you've got to hear what he's
14:18 saying and process it in the background
14:21 and send it to 11 Labs and 11 Labs can
14:23 respond to it. And after that,
14:25 everything else was just lovable. Um, it
14:28 took it and it took a few tries to get
14:30 the microphone working. Uh, found out
14:32 that cell phone microphone permissions
14:35 are different, so I had to tweak that
14:37 and for a while it wasn't responding.
14:39 Then it started speaking Russian
14:40 randomly. Um, [laughter] so you know, it
14:43 was a trial and error period, but um,
14:46 considering I started that at uh, noon
14:50 and had it finished by one um, in time
14:52 for Tuker Gene, my kids had had a great
14:54 time playing with it. So
14:55 >> Oh, that's great. That's awesome. Um,
14:58 could you have used the real time voice
14:59 in chat GPT? Was that just too
15:01 expensive? Is that why you
15:02 >> No, I could have used the real-time
15:03 voice. Um, but I wanted to pick the
15:05 custom voice for the pumpkin. I wanted
15:08 >> Oh. Oh, with real time stuck to their
15:11 their crappy little things. Right.
15:12 Right. Right.
15:13 >> I didn't want it to sound like CGBT uh
15:16 embodying the soul of a pumpkin.
15:19 >> Source camp. I never considered the
15:21 possibility of a Russian pumpkin.
15:24 [laughter]
15:28 >> That is That is Jack the talking
15:29 pumpkin. Pumpkinpal.loable.app.
15:33 >> Very cool.
15:34 >> Uh what I I I do have to tell you it was
15:36 funny. I was testing it during office
15:38 hours today and I had uh office hours on
15:42 my phone and I had it turned almost all
15:44 the way down
15:45 >> and you and Dr. Jay were talking about
15:48 the her Armenian poet friend and then
15:51 out of nowhere Jack goes Armenia. I love
15:54 Armenia. [laughter]
15:57 >> Oh, you can hear that. I should probably
15:59 turn the microphone off.
16:00 >> Looks like my candle's burning low.
16:02 Until next Halloween, friend. [laughter]
16:04 He just turned himself off. We ignored
16:06 him.
16:07 >> All right, I'm out of here. [laughter]
16:09 >> All right. Thanks, Brandon. All right.
16:11 There you go. So, so that's there's
16:13 there's a way to do something cool on
16:15 Halloween. What else do we have here?
16:17 Liz Miller Miller Gersfeld. Look what I
16:20 made.
16:22 Tabs. Yes. Got to share the tab.
16:26 Oh, this is the the thing she had for
16:28 her uh for her background.
16:33 Very cool. Actually, maybe we'll go over
16:35 to uh maybe we'll go to midjourney.
16:38 Maybe we'll do like a little smorgas
16:40 board of things. Um
16:47 it's funny like I'm feeling like like
16:52 the the uh the UMG UIO thing yesterday.
16:57 I I have a feeling um big companies are
17:01 going to go on a a lawsuit scramble more
17:04 than they already are. Like I feel like
17:06 that's going to embolden a bunch of
17:07 companies to like try to take out these
17:09 smaller companies. Tik Tok question, can
17:12 you explain what UDIO did differently
17:14 than Sunno?
17:16 Um yeah, they cut a deal with Universal
17:19 Music Group. [laughter]
17:22 I I assume you mean like how was the
17:24 service different?
17:26 So,
17:29 when we first started making songs on
17:31 this channel, it was probably a year and
17:32 a half, two years ago.
17:34 And we were using Sununo. It might have
17:38 been 2.5 or three.
17:41 And 3.5 was the first one where Sunno
17:44 didn't sound like [ __ ] The the vocals
17:47 on Suno always sounded autotuned. Every
17:50 they just had huge compression artifacts
17:52 on them and they sounded really
17:54 autotuned. Um, Udo was much better
17:58 sonically than Sunno was. And for a
18:02 while they were kind of neck andneck. It
18:03 was like it was like a toss up from
18:05 where I sat which one was better. And I
18:08 kept leaning toward Udio or Udo as Vicky
18:12 Baptist says it, but she won't admit
18:15 she's wrong. It's just the way it is.
18:17 You know, she's she's got her base word
18:20 of choice. I've got mine. They're
18:22 different words. and I know I'm right
18:24 and she just hasn't accepted, you know,
18:26 she hasn't surrendered to the truth yet.
18:28 Anyway, that's neither here nor there.
18:31 Um, [laughter]
18:35 but
18:37 um, Udo was really good. And then what
18:40 happened was Sunno just started
18:42 releasing feature after feature after
18:44 feature after feature and models like
18:47 model upgrades. They went to 3.5 which
18:50 was really good. Um, then they went to
18:52 four, then they went to 4.5, then they
18:54 went to 4.5 plus, now they're at five.
18:57 So, Sunno is just sort of blasting
19:00 ahead.
19:01 Um, I saw I saw a tweet last week or the
19:05 week before, some guy was like like um,
19:08 Sunno's apparently hit 150 million in
19:11 ARR, you know, annual recurring revenue.
19:14 Um, and and he was like, you know, who's
19:17 actually paying for this? And people
19:19 were chiming in like I am. It's really
19:22 cool. I'm like bombarding the guy with
19:24 with cool songs. Um,
19:28 you got the wrong person. [laughter]
19:31 That's how I say it.
19:36 Oh man. I just tried to download my
19:38 Yu-Gi-Oh songs and I couldn't. I'd
19:40 forgotten I made them. So, no harm done.
19:42 So, no. I think I think the Let me go
19:44 Let me go confirm. I think the downloads
19:46 start Monday. It's like Monday until
19:49 Wednesday. I guess they're giving people
19:52 a little I guess they caught enough [ __ ]
19:54 that they have to deal with it. Um,
19:58 let's see. UDO download
20:12 tab.
20:16 88 people are pissed off. Removing
20:18 downloads permanently just killed your
20:20 platform. Udio is giving 48 hours to
20:24 download your songs. Okay. Udio users
20:27 not going to mince words. We hate the
20:29 fact we cannot offer downloads right
20:31 now. We know the pain it causes you and
20:35 we are sorry that we had to do so.
20:38 Because of this, we wanted to share a
20:39 quick update. UDO is a small company
20:42 operating in an incredibly complex
20:44 evolving space.
20:46 That means the big people told them
20:48 they're going to put them in jail if
20:49 they don't cooperate.
20:51 Um,
20:53 in in order to facilitate that
20:55 partnership, we had to disable
20:57 downloads.
21:00 So, [laughter] so this is this is big
21:02 music saying you can't have your music,
21:04 we need to own the music. [snorts] Um,
21:07 [clears throat] while the trans period
21:09 while the transition period is still
21:11 necessary, we want you to have access to
21:13 your past creations. We've worked with
21:15 our partners to make this possible. Uh,
21:18 you're probably getting some really bad
21:20 press right now. Could we like turn it
21:21 on for like a couple of days? Fine.
21:25 We will be providing a 48 hour window
21:29 for all users to download their existing
21:31 songs. This window will be begin Monday,
21:34 November 3rd, and we will provide the
21:36 exact starting time and the and and end
21:39 time tomorrow. Downloaded songs will be
21:42 subject to prior terms of service, which
21:44 probably say, "We own all your [ __ ] and
21:46 you can't do anything with it," is what
21:47 I'm assuming it says. [laughter]
21:50 Look out tomorrow for confirmation of
21:51 exact timings. Team Udia. Yeah, this was
21:54 I this was this was a uh th this
21:58 settlement was do you want to still be
22:00 in business? Then you're going to do
22:01 you're going to do by us. So, I would
22:04 not be at all surprised if Sunno caves
22:06 to another, you know, we we'll see Sunno
22:09 announce a partnership with Sony, you
22:12 know, next week. [laughter]
22:14 Same shit's going to happen. But I'll
22:16 tell you, here's what I think is going
22:18 to happen.
22:21 This stuff is too good to be to be
22:26 thrown behind a walled garden, a payw
22:28 wall. Um, so
22:31 what we're going to see is
22:34 an acceleration in open-source models
22:37 that are as good or better than these
22:39 guys. I mean, Sunno's got a big lead in
22:41 terms of features, but the core models
22:43 there there's I think there's already
22:44 some decent um open- source ones out
22:46 there. Um, but these big companies,
22:49 they're going to drive people to open
22:50 source. They're going to they're going
22:51 to end up screwing themselves in the
22:53 end. [snorts and clears throat] Just
22:55 amazing. But anyway, crazy. I'm having a
22:58 blast taking my Sununo V3 songs and
23:02 recreating them with five. Yeah, that
23:03 that's pretty cool. That's pretty cool
23:05 to do.
23:09 No, like studio.
23:15 [clears throat]
23:20 We'll see. Yeah, I know. Oh, man. I just
23:23 went into UIO to see what I made. So
23:26 embarrassed. They are terrible.
23:28 [laughter]
23:30 Hey man, we were all trying to figure
23:31 this stuff out for a while. We've gotten
23:33 better. Who [clears throat] What were we
23:35 talking? Oh, we were talking in office
23:37 hours today. Oh, no. It was in the It
23:40 was in the mastermind call. Gareth was
23:42 talking about
23:44 um he did something for a client where
23:48 the client was sort of rambling on about
23:50 some product idea
23:53 and then Gareth took the recording of
23:55 the conversation, threw it into Claude,
23:58 I think Claude or Chat GBT, turned it
24:02 into a a product requirement document,
24:05 threw that into lovable and then within
24:08 an hour had delivered a fully functional
24:10 version of the app that the client
24:13 described and then the client was
24:16 obviously blown away and then they're
24:17 going to try to go off and and raise
24:19 money on it and hire Gareth to do more
24:21 [ __ ] which is cool. Um,
24:25 but when he was talking about it,
24:28 he he he was he was like, "Oh, I just I
24:32 just, you know, took the transcript and
24:34 went here and did a product requirements
24:35 document and then I just went over to
24:37 Lovable and an hour later I had a
24:39 working app." And what struck me was um
24:43 he's got a lot of expertise and a lot of
24:45 experience with
24:48 you know gathering requirements create
24:51 creating PRDS
24:53 um creating applications delivering them
24:56 for clients. So the stuff that he did in
24:59 between the AI pieces and like how he
25:02 got lovable to get him to a functional
25:04 app,
25:06 you know, he's probably doing at a very
25:08 different level than someone just trying
25:10 to figure it out, right? Like you know,
25:12 whoever it was, Mimi, I think said, you
25:14 know, she went over to Yio and and was
25:17 embarrassed by her songs. You go back
25:18 and you look at your early stuff, it's
25:20 going to be crappy. So, as you get
25:21 better at this stuff, we kind of forgot
25:24 we we kind of forget what we've gotten
25:26 good at.
25:28 And that gets that gets back to this
25:30 idea of creating a daily practice around
25:33 how you use AI. Um, and
25:40 if you're if you're on this channel,
25:43 you're likely already doing that. If
25:44 you're new here, welcome. My name is
25:46 Kyle Shannon. if you're just trying to
25:48 figure this AI stuff out. Um,
25:53 it's there's a lot right now. There's a
25:56 lot there's there's a lot of tools.
25:58 There's a lot to learn. Um, and it's
26:01 essentially impossible to catch up. Even
26:04 if you've been doing it every day for
26:06 three years like I have, it's impossible
26:09 to keep keep up. Um, and so what you can
26:13 do is you can start to think less about
26:15 the tools and you can start to think
26:16 about more about you. What do you want?
26:18 What do you want to do? What are you
26:19 passionate about?
26:22 And if you were going to improve
26:24 yourself daily, if you were going to,
26:26 you know, improve the quality of what
26:28 you do, what you can do, what what makes
26:30 possible, how you do business, how you
26:32 make money, how you serve other people,
26:36 and then you use AI to amplify all that.
26:39 What does that practice look like? And
26:41 that's something that we're going to be
26:42 exploring in the AI salon uh over the
26:44 next uh I don't know foreseeable future
26:48 because that seems like the future to
26:49 me. Um human centric use of AI not
26:54 AIcentric you know people doing stuff.
26:57 Human centric use of AI. Um so that I'm
27:00 super excited about. Um
27:03 Ann Murphy. So Ann Murphy's here. So
27:06 speaking of AI practice, I want you to
27:09 write down these dates. December
27:10 [clears throat] 26th and December 27th
27:13 of 2025
27:16 is this here event. It is called AI
27:18 Festivus. AI for the rest of us. If you
27:22 were there last year, you know what a
27:24 kickass event it was. Um it's going to
27:27 be a kick-ass event this year. We're
27:30 going to have many, many speakers. We've
27:34 got 24 1-hour slots over two days. So,
27:38 it's 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Pacific time
27:40 on Friday the 26th. It's 9:00 a.m. to
27:44 9:00 p.m.
27:46 um Pacific time on Saturday the 27th.
27:50 And if you're thinking that sounds
27:52 insane,
27:54 you're correct. [laughter] Have you met
27:57 Anne Murphy? Have you met myself?
28:01 We we just because we overwork ourselves
28:04 for most of the year. Our idea of taking
28:08 the weekend off in between the holidays
28:11 and new year is to do an event like
28:13 festivists [laughter]
28:16 and then we ask all of our friends to
28:18 come speak and they do. [laughter] So,
28:22 um so that's what it is. So, if you
28:24 weren't here last year, it's it's a
28:26 really fun event. Um,
28:29 [laughter]
28:30 so good. So, write those dates down. Um,
28:34 the other thing you should do if you
28:36 have not joined it is join the AI salon.
28:38 Just go to community.thesalon.ai
28:44 and check that out. Yeah, exactly. And
28:48 you if you sign up there at the salon,
28:50 um, all of the festivist updates, we
28:51 don't we don't have uh a sign up URL set
28:55 up just yet. We're we're that's coming
28:57 in a week or two. So, that'll be there.
29:00 And uh but just mark it in your
29:03 calendars. Let your family know you're
29:04 not going to be able be available Friday
29:06 or Saturday night. And come spend 24
29:09 hours with us. Hey, Kyle, where's your
29:11 rabbit? It's back on my shelf right
29:13 there.
29:15 It's right there where I predicted it
29:16 would be. [laughter]
29:19 It's a beautiful piece of industrial
29:21 design.
29:24 Yeah. [laughter] Yeah. Exactly. It's
29:25 very on brand for us to have an advent
29:27 calendar um [laughter]
29:30 um before we have a sign up form. So, we
29:32 do have an advent calendar. Oh crap. And
29:35 I forget where it was. Hang on.
29:40 It's in irregulars. But do I have to How
29:42 far do I have to scroll?
29:47 [clears throat]
29:49 [singing]
29:53 Who's that? That's Sabrina Romangh in
29:55 costume. Oh [ __ ] I should have gone in
29:57 costume. Wait, I can I can do costumes.
30:00 She's in a pink costume. I can do
30:02 costumes.
30:04 [laughter]
30:04 There we go.
30:09 Oh, that's funny. The AI mystery. Same
30:12 slop, different theme.
30:14 [laughter]
30:18 This is great. Okay, here's the advent
30:19 calendar. So, it's like six six posts
30:21 down in irregular. So if you go to the
30:24 AI salon on the left hand side here, you
30:26 go to the AI learning lab irregulars
30:29 channel and click on our advent
30:31 calendar.
30:34 >> Beautiful.
30:36 >> Yes.
30:37 >> Uh first of all, the advent calendar is
30:38 opened in a new tab. Also, um,
30:42 >> I I have uh Ann pinned on Tik Tok asking
30:47 me to tell you to check your text
30:49 messages, and I'm not sure that you can
30:50 do that while we're live, but I wanted
30:52 to pass it along.
30:52 >> I can, but I don't have a text message
30:55 from her.
31:00 Does she mean?
31:04 Is she sure she sent send?
31:07 [laughter]
31:09 And and how many edibles have you had
31:11 tonight? [laughter]
31:14 >> She can't answer you because you're
31:16 still paused on TikTok.
31:18 >> Really?
31:19 >> There you go. Now you're back.
31:20 >> Yeah.
31:22 And how many edibles have you had
31:24 tonight? You didn't send me a text. Are
31:26 you sure you hit the send button?
31:28 [laughter]
31:46 And Murphy. Oh,
31:48 she's screaming at me. Check your text
31:50 messages. [laughter]
31:56 >> [laughter]
31:57 >> And Murphy's the best.
32:04 Oh man.
32:07 Wait, how many of you knew you were
32:09 supposed to drink cutwaters with ice? I
32:11 don't even know what a cut water is.
32:16 Um, let's see. Let's go to um
32:20 midjourney.
32:22 Hang on. Hold, please.
32:37 That's cool.
32:40 Tab.
32:41 Share this tab.
32:46 Yeah, I paused it again because I went
32:48 to look at Murphy's.
32:50 It's there now. Whoops.
32:53 That's cool. What is that, Ann? Is that
32:55 a new statement for she leads? It's
32:57 pretty cool.
33:00 [snorts and clears throat]
33:02 Um, do I have
33:06 messages? Messages.
33:19 All right, we can come back to that.
33:21 Okay, so here we are at
33:26 midjourney.
33:32 Nice. I like it. I dig it.
33:35 G. Okay. All right. So, I figured what
33:39 might be fun tonight is let's use
33:42 MidJourney to go find some cool spooky
33:46 um mood boards. So if you go to explore
33:51 in the upper leftand corner go to
33:53 explore
33:54 and then over here in the upper right
33:56 hand corner there's images videos and
33:59 styles. So I'm on styles and then in the
34:02 search bar here I'm going to put
34:03 Halloween
34:07 and then it's going to give us all sorts
34:09 of creepy ass things. And then what I'm
34:12 going to do
34:14 is I'm going to go, let's see, let me
34:17 find one of these that looks kind of
34:19 cool.
34:20 Here's a cool one. This green one. So,
34:23 you click on the little T for text and
34:25 it throws that sreff into your thing.
34:28 And then I'm going to put I'm going to
34:30 put um
34:33 uh
34:36 terrifying.
34:39 That's going to be my only prompt is
34:41 terrifying. And I'm going to put my
34:43 style waiting at 150. I'm going to go
34:47 landscape 16 by9.
34:52 And we're going to go. And now what I
34:55 can do is I can just hit a bunch of
34:57 styles
34:59 if I like them and say try style. will
35:01 just keep reusing
35:04 that same
35:07 set of settings with the different
35:09 styles. Here's a good one.
35:13 Let's see.
35:17 Oh, that one's cool. Try style. Try
35:20 style.
35:22 This one's cool. Try style.
35:32 It's spooky, I tell you. It's so spooky.
35:36 Haka, you're so spooky.
35:40 That one's cool.
35:45 Oh, this one's really cool. All right,
35:48 so just like that, I've created a dozen,
35:51 probably more, a dozen different
35:55 images in Midjourney.
35:59 with the single prompt, the single word
36:01 prompt, terrifying. So, if you haven't
36:03 used midjourney like this as a kind of
36:06 as a as a uh inspiration tool, it's a
36:10 lot of fun.
36:14 All right,
36:17 drop an affiliate link for those advent
36:20 alcohol kits. I've been here for over
36:22 two years still trying to figure it out.
36:25 I've been here since the beginning and
36:27 I'm still trying to figure it out.
36:30 [laughter]
36:34 Um,
36:36 [snorts]
36:39 you know, I wonder if um
36:43 I wonder if if the likes of Midjourney
36:45 are going to be hit with with all these
36:47 big corporate lawsuits. I'm guessing
36:49 they are. Going to be interesting to see
36:52 who survives this.
36:56 What I what I saw in the 90s when when
36:58 companies were doing this to to digital
37:01 companies and the music the music
37:03 industry went first there as well. They
37:05 killed a lot of companies like Napster
37:07 got killed and then you know other
37:08 people figured out how to navigate it
37:10 legally. Um but it took him a long time
37:13 and it changed the music industry and so
37:15 that's going to happen again. But the
37:17 death throws of the big companies are
37:19 going to be
37:21 um interesting to watch. These are cool.
37:24 These are nice and spooky. Oh, here I
37:26 can make these even bigger.
37:29 These are good.
37:36 Again, the prompt here is just the word
37:38 terrifying.
37:40 And so, this shows you the dramatic
37:42 difference that a mood board can make.
37:45 So, if you haven't played with mood
37:46 boards, and they're really easy to make,
37:48 also,
37:50 you can just go find a bunch of pictures
37:51 in a style that you like and throw them
37:53 in a mood board and then start making
37:56 images that are inspired by all those
37:58 images.
38:05 Kyle's been here since Al Gore invented
38:07 the internet. [laughter]
38:12 It's so true. Oh my god. I remember when
38:15 when he said that when that all came
38:17 out, you're just like, "Oh god,
38:20 [laughter]
38:24 [snorts] not everyone likes Adobe
38:26 Firefly, but less risk." Yeah. So, ju in
38:28 case you don't know,
38:31 MidJourney by far is the best aesthetic
38:34 tool out there, but it's absolutely been
38:36 trained on copywritten stuff. Adobe
38:39 Firefly is probably one of the weaker
38:41 models. Although I know they've been
38:42 improving it, but it's still a pretty
38:44 weak model because [clears throat] they
38:46 haven't trained it on everything. They
38:48 just trained it on like public domain
38:50 stuff and publicly available stuff and
38:52 anything they had rights to in Adobe
38:54 Stock.
38:56 So, it's less problematic if you're
38:58 doing commercial work um and you don't
39:01 want to put yourself or your your client
39:03 at risk. you you might not want to use
39:05 something like midjourney which one of
39:07 the things that we we're talking about
39:08 in the salon right now when we talk
39:10 about this you know establish a daily
39:12 practice for yourself around how how you
39:15 use AI part of that looks like how do
39:18 you professionalize yourself how do you
39:20 up your game and really understanding
39:22 what some of these issues are is quite
39:25 important right if you want to be a
39:26 professional in this game you don't want
39:28 to get yourself or your clients in
39:30 trouble because then you won't work
39:31 again these are Cool. Oh, that one's
39:34 spooky.
39:36 These are great.
39:39 Love that.
39:46 I love this style.
39:48 Let's turn Let's turn some of these into
39:50 videos. So, the other thing that you can
39:52 do in MidJourney, if you didn't know, is
39:53 you can turn these these uh
39:56 [clears throat] images into videos. And
39:58 so, in the lower right hand corner here,
39:59 it says animate image. low motion, high
40:02 motion. So, we'll do this one. We'll do
40:05 high motion and and basically the
40:07 difference between those is one moves
40:09 more [ __ ] [laughter] It's not very
40:11 technical. Um, we'll do this one as low
40:15 motion and see what it does. This is the
40:17 one I think's really good. We'll do this
40:19 as low motion and then
40:23 Oh, that one didn't complete. Oh,
40:25 because Oh, that that must have been the
40:27 end of our videos. Any any of these
40:29 other ones we want to turn into? That
40:32 one could be a good one. Let's do high
40:33 motion there.
40:37 Let's do that one, too. Low motion.
40:45 Man, these these are such like 90s
40:49 ' 90s zenes, like printed zes in the '9s
40:53 had these kind of graphics in them.
40:56 Let's do that one as high motion. All
40:57 right, that's going to be all of our
40:58 videos.
41:00 So, we'll go wait for [clears throat]
41:02 these things to turn into videos for us.
41:04 [cough]
41:17 You should make a spooky decoher room.
41:19 Oh, that's a good idea. I'll do that.
41:20 That's a great idea.
41:22 Um,
41:24 my child is still producing Zen. That's
41:27 because your child's cool.
41:32 There you go. That's kind of cool. Cool
41:34 and groovy.
41:52 [laughter]
41:57 >> [gasps]
41:58 >> These animations in Mid Journey are just
42:00 crazy. It just seems to it's got such a
42:02 good understanding of the
42:07 of the intent of the art.
42:12 Like those little circles falling like
42:15 that's not in here anywhere. It it
42:17 figured that out.
42:20 Crazy.
43:05 >> [laughter]
43:06 >> That was creepy as [ __ ]
43:11 Love the art style in this. Yeah, these
43:13 are cool, aren't they?
43:31 That's cool. The shaky the shaky
43:33 lightning.
43:47 That's downright creepy,
43:50 man. That down right creepy. Hey he len
43:54 Hey he excuse me ma'am. Yeah, your child
43:58 is um green and uh looks looks a little
44:03 disturbed.
44:05 Could you I'm trying to eat lunch and I
44:08 was wondering if you'd be so kind as to
44:13 take him in the back room.
44:20 [singing]
44:27 Um, all right. Let's go play with some
44:29 other stuff, shall we? So, where we're
44:33 going to go now is we're going to go to
44:36 a thing called decco here. So, if you go
44:39 to d e co
44:41 r e decco. No, that's not right. Deco
44:45 c o h e r e.
44:49 And then it'sai.
44:52 Yes.
44:54 Tabs. Yes. What you said.
45:02 So Deco here. They they call themselves
45:04 the words world's fastest image
45:06 generator.
45:09 Kid. I want my UDO song. Yeah. Oh,
45:12 that's good. Oh, okay. Wait, hang on.
45:15 Changing gears. Silver Fox always
45:19 [laughter]
45:22 Silver Fox always has the good the good
45:25 thing to do. All right, which one do we
45:26 want? Do we want that one?
45:36 Okay, that's good.
45:40 Where could we put this to add the voice
45:42 to it? I guess runway, right? Let me
45:46 download that.
46:06 I could just put it up as an animation,
46:08 but it seems like you'd want to hear
46:12 what that says. So, I'm at runway
46:17 and then we're going to go to apps. No,
46:18 we're going to go to home. Where are we
46:20 going to go?
46:22 Um,
46:24 [clears throat]
46:26 chat
46:31 apps.
46:33 Oh my god, they've completely changed.
46:38 So, where's lip sync?
46:43 Oh, here we go. Models.
46:49 Mockup variant. Create ad
46:52 models.
46:59 [clears throat]
47:00 [laughter]
47:03 References video. Is that it?
47:06 Describe the video you want to generate.
47:08 No.
47:10 What was the what was the runway thing
47:12 called
47:13 where you could add voice to the to a
47:16 video to an existing video?
47:19 Squirrel. Yeah, this is definitely a
47:20 squirrel moment. No, it wasn't Hey, Jen.
47:22 It was in runway. It was called Was it a
47:24 left? It was a left.
47:28 Is that right?
47:33 A leaf. A leaf. A leaf. [snorts]
47:41 product. Oh, dialogue. Here we go.
47:45 Turn your image into a scripted video.
47:49 No, that's not what we want.
47:52 Macup very add. Create ad. Weather time
47:56 of day. Stylize color guide perform.
47:59 LF
48:02 of scale video.
48:07 Here's my advice to you. Never start a
48:10 channel where you establish yourself as
48:12 someone who knows what's going on in AI
48:16 [laughter]
48:19 because
48:21 I used to know how to use this site like
48:24 two months ago. I could find what I
48:27 needed.
48:28 Now everything's like the [ __ ]
48:30 cockpit of a 747.
48:34 It's like it's exhausting. Hey Jen has
48:37 another option. But does it have an
48:39 option where you can upload video
48:46 for Turbo video?
48:50 Ah, switch to a left. To edit videos,
48:53 switch to a left.
48:55 Drag or drop animate. Wait. Drag an
48:58 image to animate or video to edit. Act
49:02 two. That's what it was called.
49:05 Add a driving performance.
49:26 Hey Yo,
49:28 I want my flipping downloads. Give me my
49:31 flipping songs. I don't care about your
49:34 stupid deal.
49:37 Hey Yo,
49:39 I want my flipping downloads. Give me my
49:42 flipping songs. I don't care about your
49:45 stupid deal.
49:47 Use this. [laughter]
49:52 Choose your character. Drop an image or
49:55 a video. Select asset.
49:58 Upload.
50:02 Joy. Pretty. Tell her what she's want.
50:04 Should I be using act three? Wait,
50:05 where's act three?
50:08 I I I can't I just Do you understand how
50:14 insufferable it is to try to keep up
50:16 with this [ __ ] You do, cuz you're here
50:18 every night going, "Hey, Kyle. Kyle,
50:20 could you tell us uh what what what we
50:23 should pay attention to? No, I can't
50:25 anymore. I used to be able to. I knew
50:28 all the things. I knew all the things. I
50:30 took pride in this brain of mine.
50:35 It doesn't matter anymore. Nothing
50:37 matters anymore.
50:47 It's getting scary in here.
50:50 Did you see how angry Kyle got? It was
50:53 like it was all Hallow's Eve and he lost
50:55 his mind just a little bit. Just a
50:57 little bit. [laughter]
51:00 [gasps]
51:10 Suzanne taking off. Was fun popping in.
51:12 Have a good night. Take care, Suzanne.
51:16 Good having you.
51:18 We still love it here. [laughter]
51:22 [gasps]
51:23 Oh my god. So, we've gone from AI
51:25 euphoria to nothing matters anymore.
51:27 Yes, this is the this is the AI
51:30 nihilistic channel. Doesn't that know
51:31 what nihilistic means? Wait, I got to go
51:33 check chat GPT. Sometimes I use words I
51:36 think they know. I know what they mean.
51:39 Um, what does nihalistic,
51:45 right? Nhalistic
51:47 mean
51:51 you probably mean nihilistic from
51:54 nihilism.
51:56 Nothing truly matters. Everything is
51:59 ultimately meaningless.
52:01 like your ability to use a tool is
52:05 ultimately meaningless because
52:08 because uh two months later you won't be
52:11 able to use it because they'll have
52:13 changed everything that didn't upload
52:15 yet. We're going to try again.
52:18 Maybe you should look into working
52:19 through Weeavely. Yeah, but we've didn't
52:22 Wee just got acquire so archetypal
52:25 Weebly just got acquired by Figma.
52:29 So now Figma Weebly is in Figma. Is it
52:32 was it Figma or was it something else?
52:34 Doesn't matter. All All I know is I
52:37 learned a little bit about Weeley two
52:39 weeks ago here and I thought, "Oh,
52:41 that's something I'm going to learn and
52:42 now it's been acquired. [laughter]
52:48 You can pick the feature you want first
52:50 and get a list of models that can do
52:52 it." Oh, that's pretty cool.
52:54 Oh, [clears throat] good lord. Good
52:57 lord. manic depressive AI [laughter]
53:02 and and now now we're not able to upload
53:05 th this is unbelievable. I'm starting to
53:08 think it's my Wi-Fi my Wi-Fi. Thanks
53:11 Xfinity.
53:13 Hi. We're with Xfinity where you get 8
53:16 trillion
53:18 8 trillion bits per second down. And if
53:21 you want to upload something, good luck.
53:26 Oh, I'm sorry. No, we don't allow that.
53:29 Uploading. Yeah. No, we we did a focus
53:32 group and we determined nobody really
53:33 wants to upload anything. Everybody's
53:36 just downloading. Everybody's streaming.
53:38 We're We're optimized for streaming.
53:39 Don't you understand? Yes. Yes. Yes.
53:44 H I have a client who's learning quickly
53:47 how fast the tech changes [laughter] and
53:49 how to manage expectations. I'm telling
53:51 you, back back to this idea of a daily
53:54 practice. One of the things that I think
53:56 we're going to have to build into it is
53:58 something around adaptability.
54:01 Like not losing your [ __ ] If you've
54:04 spent six months, I think it was Gareth
54:06 who said he spent six months building
54:09 something and then like
54:12 chat GPT announced something and he was
54:14 like, "Oh, I guess you can just do that
54:16 now. [laughter]
54:21 It's just the way it is, kids." All
54:23 right, I'm going to try one more time to
54:24 upload this video.
54:27 [sighs]
54:28 [clears throat] Wait, you know what I'll
54:29 do? I'll I'll do the thing that I've
54:30 done
54:32 before, which is I'll change the file
54:35 format.
54:37 Uhuh. Uh, export as. Export as. Let's do
54:42 720p. We'll just do 720p. We'll keep it
54:45 nice and small. We'll keep it nice and
54:48 small. Oh, you can't see this. You can't
54:50 see what I'm seeing. Sucks to be you.
54:54 But all I did was change the file
54:56 format. Okay, so let's try to upload our
55:01 new thing here.
55:06 Well, that looks like it's going. Are we
55:08 going? Come on. You can No. Yeah, this
55:12 is something's really Oh, that looks
55:14 good. Did we make it? Did we make it?
55:18 Hey Vicki, I've still got your fidget
55:20 spinners. Wait, where are they? Here.
55:26 Fidget toys. Sora 2 now builds hybrids
55:29 in sex
55:32 when it took hours in Photoshop.
55:34 Amazing.
55:36 Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
55:44 I'm still unemployed but creating
55:46 content my whole day.
55:47 >> [laughter]
55:50 >> Oh man.
55:52 Oh, it uploaded. Detecting the face.
55:54 Please tell me it can detect the face.
55:57 Facial expressiveness. We want five.
56:00 Motion from your character video will be
56:03 used. Gestures. To enable gestures,
56:07 replace character video with an image.
56:09 No, we don't want gestures.
56:14 generate.
56:17 >> Hey Yo,
56:19 I want my flipping downloads. Give me my
56:22 flipping songs. I don't care about you.
56:25 Stupid deal. [laughter]
56:31 All right,
56:33 we're making art here. Thanks to Silver
56:36 Fox for the inspiration. [laughter]
56:40 What did you do on Halloween? I don't
56:42 want to talk about it. [laughter]
56:53 Oh, good lord.
56:57 [clears throat]
57:00 All right.
57:04 Oh, you know what we can do while that's
57:05 rendering? No, Kyle. What? Let's go to
57:08 11 Labs.
57:09 11 Labs. Let's do sound effects
57:13 designer. Oh, but then I'm gonna have to
57:15 go mix it. H. Yeah, I don't want to do
57:18 that. Screw that. That's too much work.
57:20 I know. Tabs. I'm not going there. I've
57:24 already I've already run down one
57:26 squirrel rabbit hole. Silver Fox
57:28 completely derailed the live. Way to go,
57:30 Silver Fox. Everyone was so excited to
57:32 go to Deco here. And then you were like,
57:34 you know, that could be a video about
57:37 someone screaming about UIO downloads.
57:40 You've ruined everything. [laughter]
57:44 People are not going to The irregulars
57:46 are not going to let you back in.
57:48 [laughter]
57:50 He finally had an agenda. He was
57:52 sticking to his agenda and then out of
57:54 the corner of his eye, you put a post,
57:57 Silver Fox, you can't do that. We know
57:59 what happens. [laughter]
58:03 There's going to be a meeting. There's
58:04 going to be a committee of the
58:05 irregulars later. Listen, we've got to
58:08 talk strategy. When we can talk to Kyl
58:10 and when we can't.
58:12 [laughter]
58:16 [laughter]
58:18 I'm I'm certain of it. And I feel felt
58:21 immediately guilty. [laughter]
58:27 Oh, y'all are the best.
58:30 [laughter]
58:31 Squirrel. Squirrel. Squirrel. Squirrel.
58:33 Squirrel. Squirrel. Squirrel.
58:35 Okay, let's see if it worked. Am I
58:39 sharing? Please tell me I'm sharing.
58:43 Hey, Yio.
58:45 I want my flipping downloads. Give me my
58:48 flipping songs. I don't care about your
58:51 stupid deal.
58:54 Hey Yo, [laughter]
58:56 I want my flipping downloads. Give me my
58:59 flipping songs. I don't care about you,
59:02 stupid deal. [laughter]
59:08 [laughter] It's like Gordon Ramsay and
59:11 Guy Fiery.
59:13 This is the actually, you know what?
59:16 This this is the character. So, this
59:18 should be like the Wizard of Oz. Okay,
59:21 so here's how it's going to work.
59:24 when OpenAI hires me and they're like,
59:26 "Okay, you know what? We do. We need a
59:29 Gen Xer in the corner and rather than
59:32 let people walk into my office, I'm
59:34 going to have a booth that when you open
59:36 the door to my office, you're going to
59:37 go into a dark booth and it's going to
59:39 have a screen on it and this guy is
59:41 going to be on the screen and then you
59:44 can come in [laughter] and say, "Hey,
59:46 uh, Kyle, I sent you the I sent you the
59:49 uh that new feature. What do you think
59:51 of it?
59:52 >> [clears throat]
59:54 >> Hey Yo,
59:56 I want my flipping downloads. Give me my
59:59 flipping songs. I don't care about your
1:00:02 stupid deal. [laughter]
1:00:06 This is good. All right. Hey, you want
1:00:08 to see something really fun? This is
1:00:11 going to be so good. Um,
1:00:15 I'm going to try to upload this video
1:00:19 to the X platform where I could tag Yio
1:00:22 and Universal Music Group. Um, which is
1:00:27 which is cool. But what you're going to
1:00:28 watch is how angry
1:00:31 I get
1:00:33 [laughter]
1:00:35 when I try to do something simple.
1:00:39 That's [snorts] a So, actually, this is
1:00:42 a good point. AI is really good at the
1:00:46 remarkably hard [ __ ] and it's really
1:00:50 bad at the seemingly easy [ __ ] which is
1:00:54 which is where it gets [ __ ]
1:00:55 maddening. Like, you say, "Hey, make me
1:00:58 an app that calculates the gravitational
1:01:00 force of a missile being shot off a
1:01:02 cliff at midnight in the fog." And it'll
1:01:05 do that. and you're like, "Oh, could you
1:01:07 round the corners of that button?"
1:01:09 Crashes your app, destroys your
1:01:11 computer, melts your GPU.
1:01:15 Good lord. All right, we're going to X.
1:01:18 Here we go, people. Calm down. I'm
1:01:19 sharing the tab. All right. Link on
1:01:22 purple post. Oh, for an AI generated
1:01:26 Nike ad while you wait for X to crash.
1:01:29 Why are there boobies on my screen?
1:01:32 [laughter]
1:01:35 Yeah, you don't have to hide it. You
1:01:37 don't have to hide it. Okay. Um,
1:01:42 let's go get our little image or little
1:01:45 video.
1:01:50 Wait, where's Oh,
1:01:53 hey, Yio.
1:01:55 I want my flipping downloads. Give me my
1:01:58 flipping songs. I don't care about your
1:02:01 stupid deal.
1:02:04 >> [laughter]
1:02:09 >> Hey,
1:02:11 at Udio
1:02:15 and at UMG,
1:02:20 um,
1:02:23 my little friend [laughter]
1:02:26 has a message for you.
1:02:33 >> [laughter]
1:02:36 >> That's good. We'll tag Scovilleizer in
1:02:39 this one. Um, who else do we want to tag
1:02:42 in here? We'll do Ethan Mullik.
1:02:48 We'll do Paul Ritzer.
1:02:52 Paul Ritzer
1:02:55 Rer.
1:02:59 Who else do we want to tag? Kyle's
1:03:02 getting blocked. [laughter]
1:03:09 [gasps]
1:03:09 Anyone else I should tag?
1:03:12 Is this a new Frank character brewing?
1:03:14 This is in Frank territory for sure.
1:03:19 Oh, tag Midjourney. Oh, that's a good
1:03:20 idea. Yeah, Midjourney and Runway.
1:03:35 Did it upload? Oh, it uploaded. Boom.
1:03:39 All right. So, do me a favor. Go to uh
1:03:42 go to Twitter.
1:03:45 Go there right now. This is like trickor
1:03:47 treat. If you don't do this, I'm going
1:03:48 to come egg your house. I'll toilet
1:03:51 paper that stupid [ __ ] tree you
1:03:53 planted this summer. I'll do it. So go
1:03:56 to Tik Tok or no Twitter X and go to
1:04:00 Kyle Shannon. That's my little handle.
1:04:04 What what do you call it? My little
1:04:06 profile. My little thing.
1:04:09 Go there. Find this thing. Repost it.
1:04:12 Quote it. Retweet it. Do what you need
1:04:14 to do. All right.
1:04:16 All right. Friday night date nighters.
1:04:19 [clears throat] It's over, people. Pack
1:04:21 it up. [cough]
1:04:23 >> [laughter]
1:04:25 >> My little friend has a message for you.
1:04:28 Loads. Give me my flipping songs. I
1:04:31 don't care about you. Stupid deal.
1:04:34 [laughter]
1:04:35 >> Hey Yo,
1:04:37 I want my flipping downloads. Give me my
1:04:40 flipping songs. I don't care about your
1:04:43 stupid deal. [laughter]
1:04:47 I really am going to get booted from
1:04:49 someone. [laughter]
1:04:55 Oh, [clears throat] wait. I should I
1:04:57 should change it. I should say, "Oh, and
1:04:58 happy Halloween."
1:05:01 [laughter]
1:05:02 All right, let's go edit this. Edit
1:05:04 post. [clears throat]
1:05:08 Oh,
1:05:10 and
1:05:13 happy Halloween
1:05:18 update. [clears throat]
1:05:20 [snorts]
1:05:20 Oh man,
1:05:23 the sound you hear is Runway taking
1:05:25 their creative creator credits back.
1:05:27 [laughter]
1:05:34 Oh,
1:05:36 fantastic. Bob,
1:05:39 check the link below for a Nike ad. Oh,
1:05:41 that's cool. All right, I'll do that.
1:05:45 Let me bring this over here
1:05:50 and then share this.
1:05:52 This insane Nike Halloween ad was
1:05:55 entirely made with AI. I can honestly I
1:05:58 was not expecting the twist. Okay. Is
1:06:01 this
1:06:02 >> But boy,
1:06:05 glory is fine.
1:06:10 glitz and grandeur.
1:06:13 [laughter]
1:06:14 Okay.
1:06:16 But boy,
1:06:19 that ain't the prize.
1:06:25 It's the game we cherish. It's gifts and
1:06:29 pleasures.
1:06:31 It turns cruelty to currency
1:06:34 by just putting on a uniform.
1:06:38 Pain [music] becomes profession.
1:06:40 Success measured not in quarterly
1:06:43 earnings or budget forecasts, but in
1:06:46 ribs cracked [music]
1:06:48 and egos shattered.
1:06:52 These are your dividends. [music] And
1:06:55 boy,
1:06:59 they are platical.
1:07:06 >> [screaming]
1:07:06 >> So go [music] get your glory then,
1:07:10 >> but cherish the prize,
1:07:14 >> cuz that [music] cowed opponent
1:07:16 jibbering in the dirt, they answer the
1:07:20 points on a [music] scoreboard,
1:07:23 their food on the table.
1:07:40 >> [music]
1:07:52 [music]
1:07:53 [laughter]
1:07:59 [laughter]
1:08:00 >> Oh Man, that's hilarious. This is a
1:08:04 terrible ad. Good footage does not equal
1:08:07 good storytelling.
1:08:10 Well, I don't think that's I don't think
1:08:12 that's actually a Nike ad. [laughter]
1:08:16 People are so [ __ ] dumb.
1:08:20 [gasps]
1:08:21 Um,
1:08:23 but you know, I I'll tell you what.
1:08:26 [clears throat]
1:08:26 Um, put the put the share back up for a
1:08:29 second, Brandon.
1:08:31 Um, you know, when we talk about when we
1:08:34 talk about this, you know, creating a
1:08:36 daily practice using AI, like a thing to
1:08:40 do would be if you know that this is an
1:08:42 AI generated ad, like a thing to do
1:08:44 would be like really scroll through this
1:08:48 and you know for scrutiny like like you
1:08:51 know
1:08:54 where did they where did they leave some
1:08:56 jank in like where are there there's
1:08:59 lack of consist consistency. Like his
1:09:01 muscles right here are just really
1:09:03 weird, which maybe is kind of part of
1:09:05 it, but like if you were, you know,
1:09:09 wanting to do something commercially,
1:09:11 like, you know, could you could you fix
1:09:14 that? Um, there's a continuity error
1:09:18 with the stake,
1:09:20 right, where there's those three pieces
1:09:22 and now they're sort of skinnier and
1:09:24 that one on the end is longer. Like,
1:09:26 there's just little teeny tiny [ __ ] in
1:09:28 here. Like now the steak went from flat
1:09:32 to inch thick cuts and there's five of
1:09:35 them, not three of them. And I know this
1:09:37 is all stupid [ __ ] but like this is all
1:09:40 stuff that if you want to start to do
1:09:43 higher level storytelling, like really
1:09:45 paying attention to [ __ ] just because it
1:09:48 looks good on the surface, like how how
1:09:50 much are you paying attention to it? Um,
1:09:53 and then also just, you know, how many
1:09:55 cuts, how many shots are in here?
1:09:56 There's one, two, three,
1:09:59 four. That's probably a repeat of that
1:10:01 shot. 5 6 7 8 9 10 11.
1:10:07 Same shot. [clears throat]
1:10:10 Used twice.
1:10:13 12 13 14 15 16 17 18
1:10:18 19 20 21 22
1:10:22 23 24 25
1:10:26 26 27 28 29
1:10:30 30 31 32 33 34
1:10:38 35 He doesn't look the same as he did in
1:10:40 the earlier scene. 36 37 38 That's a
1:10:45 reused shot because he got tired. That's
1:10:48 a reused shot. 39 40. So So we're
1:10:52 talking there's probably 75 or 80 shots
1:10:55 in this minute and a almost two-minute
1:10:57 video. So think 80 shots. And then
1:11:00 there's not much there's not much in
1:11:02 here that's really bad. There's like the
1:11:04 things I pointed out are really subtle.
1:11:06 So this is a pretty well done thing.
1:11:07 Like this is really weird. How he swings
1:11:10 the chainsaw is really weird right here.
1:11:13 That thing,
1:11:19 [sighs]
1:11:20 but you got to figure for every shot
1:11:22 that's in here,
1:11:24 they probably generated 10 that didn't
1:11:27 make the cut,
1:11:29 right? So that's 800 shots for a
1:11:31 two-minute video. So, if you're putting
1:11:34 out videos like I do on this channel and
1:11:36 we're making like, you know, a dozen
1:11:38 shots and you think it's a big deal, um,
1:11:40 if you want to start doing stuff that's
1:11:42 at a higher standard, you're going to
1:11:43 have to Yeah. And and Brandon's point is
1:11:46 a good one. How How many credits did
1:11:48 this thing cost? Like, how much did this
1:11:50 cost to make it? Right. Bacon. Steak.
1:11:53 Steaken. Bake.
1:11:55 [laughter]
1:12:00 Oh, man.
1:12:02 Yeah, he was just going to saw himself.
1:12:05 [laughter]
1:12:08 That back is not anatomically correct.
1:12:10 Instant AI spot. Yeah, exactly. And that
1:12:13 like that's the kind of thing Lou
1:12:15 Frigno, the muscles are scary. Weird.
1:12:18 [clears throat and cough]
1:12:20 Because
1:12:23 if someone comes to you and they says,
1:12:24 "Hey, hey, you you're good at this AI
1:12:27 stuff."
1:12:29 and they don't know anything about AI.
1:12:31 What they're expecting is what they've
1:12:33 always gotten, which is just, you know,
1:12:36 real people inside the camera. But they
1:12:38 they just want to pay you $3,000 instead
1:12:41 of $300,000,
1:12:44 [laughter] right?
1:12:50 That's a pretty That's a pretty good
1:12:52 spot, though. All right. Anyway, cool.
1:12:55 That's gravy gravy. Gravy, gravy, gravy,
1:12:58 gravy, gravy, gravy.
1:13:02 Um, so next Tuesday
1:13:06 we are going to we've got AI salon
1:13:09 presents. We're going to talk about AI
1:13:10 as a practice. We're going to launch
1:13:12 that officially within the salon. And
1:13:15 then uh and then two weeks after after
1:13:19 that meeting, we're going to actually
1:13:21 launch it inside the mastermind. So,
1:13:23 within the AI salon, there's there's a
1:13:25 thing called the AI Salon Mastermind.
1:13:27 And right now, the AI Salon mastermind
1:13:29 gives you access to clubs and things
1:13:30 like that. We're completely redesigning
1:13:32 club access. Um, most clubs are going to
1:13:35 move outside the payw wall. Um, they're
1:13:37 going to be available to everyone. So,
1:13:39 that I'm really excited about. And then
1:13:40 what's happening inside the mastermind
1:13:43 is that's where people are going to
1:13:44 start designing their daily practice.
1:13:46 It's going to be a much more focused,
1:13:49 highly intentional group. Um, and I
1:13:52 think it's going to be really exciting
1:13:53 to be a part of. So, so that I'm looking
1:13:55 forward to.
1:13:58 Um, what else? Oh, it's the weekend.
1:14:01 What homework should we do? Well,
1:14:08 start thinking about your daily practice
1:14:11 and how you use AI within it. Right?
1:14:17 And and
1:14:19 this week I've been talking about your
1:14:21 AI daily practice and that's not it.
1:14:24 This is not an AI daily practice. This
1:14:26 is what is your daily practice using AI
1:14:31 and and it was Liz that pointed out the
1:14:33 subtlety and that distinction.
1:14:37 You creating a daily practice using AI
1:14:40 puts you front and center. If it's an AI
1:14:42 daily practice, it puts the tool front
1:14:44 and center, right? So, we want you front
1:14:47 and center. So, what I would do this
1:14:48 weekend is let me uh Brandon, do me a
1:14:52 favor. Pop up the screen share again for
1:14:54 a second.
1:14:57 [cough and clears throat]
1:15:00 What I want you to do this weekend
1:15:05 is
1:15:10 every day
1:15:12 for all two days. So for Saturday and
1:15:14 Sunday,
1:15:16 I want you to take, I don't know, three
1:15:19 actions
1:15:21 within each of these three areas. Play,
1:15:24 create something that you're excited to
1:15:26 share or you're excited to work on,
1:15:28 something that maybe takes more than
1:15:30 just an hour, and then generously lead,
1:15:32 talk to someone else. So, so think about
1:15:35 how you might learn something, how you
1:15:37 might play, how you might do something
1:15:38 out of your comfort zone with no
1:15:41 expectations.
1:15:43 Then take an existing project or a new
1:15:45 project and try to do really excellent
1:15:47 work within it and then talk about what
1:15:49 you're learning. Share it in the AI
1:15:51 salon, share it on LinkedIn, share it on
1:15:53 Facebook, talk about it over the weekend
1:15:54 at dinner with friends. Um
1:15:58 just start daily every day working on
1:16:01 something and and and you know this idea
1:16:04 of
1:16:06 the daily practice using AI starts to
1:16:09 look like well what do you want to do in
1:16:11 that daily practice? What's important
1:16:13 for you to develop? Are you developing
1:16:15 skills? Are you developing
1:16:20 a new level of quality of work? Are you
1:16:23 wanting to teach yourself something
1:16:25 completely new and out of your comfort
1:16:27 zone?
1:16:28 Do you want to do things for your
1:16:30 community? Do you want to do things for
1:16:31 your business? Do you want to start a
1:16:32 new business? Do you want to create
1:16:36 an entirely new kind of career for
1:16:38 yourself
1:16:41 that like you could never even imagine
1:16:42 would be possible? So, so start thinking
1:16:44 about that. So, I think this weekend
1:16:46 just really do some introspection and
1:16:48 then play within that with AI tools in
1:16:51 these three areas.
1:16:53 And uh if if you're not doing that
1:16:55 regularly, I think that'll
1:16:58 that should should reveal some things to
1:17:00 you. Should be good. All right.
1:17:03 G.
1:17:09 Um so next Tuesday, save the date,
1:17:11 Tuesday from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Mountain
1:17:14 time. Yes. Uh thank you, Brandon. Happy
1:17:16 birthday, Mrs. Shannon. So, so my my the
1:17:20 my better half, the Mrs. is a witch. She
1:17:22 was born on All Hallow's Eve. Wait, is
1:17:26 All Hallow's Eve yesterday or today?
1:17:29 [laughter]
1:17:31 Got to go ask chat. GBT is All Hallow's
1:17:35 Eve
1:17:37 Halloween.
1:17:45 Uh oh, Chat GBT is being very slow.
1:17:53 >> [singing]
1:17:54 >> Yesterday was all Hallow's Eve. Okay,
1:17:57 fine. So, it's all Hallows. [laughter]
1:18:04 Today is all Hallow's Eve. Oh, okay.
1:18:07 [laughter]
1:18:11 [clears throat]
1:18:13 What's going on, chat? GPT
1:18:19 is wait
1:18:21 hall.
1:18:24 All Hallow's Eve.
1:18:29 Yes, exactly.
1:18:31 Halloween is short for All Hallow's Eve.
1:18:34 I didn't know that. Look, we learned
1:18:36 something new. meaning the eve evening
1:18:39 before All Hallow's Day. Also called All
1:18:42 Saints Day on November 1st. Here's the
1:18:45 lineage. Hallow is an old word for holy
1:18:47 person.
1:18:49 Oh, so it's saints day. I get it. The
1:18:51 night before All Hallow's Eve gradually
1:18:54 became Halloween
1:18:57 and eventually Halloween.
1:19:00 It originated as a Christian observance
1:19:02 but absorbed but it absorbed Celtic
1:19:05 harvest and Sam Hayne traditions. Sam
1:19:09 Hayne
1:19:11 which celebrated the boundary between
1:19:12 the living and the dead giving us
1:19:14 costumes, bonfires, spooky vibes we know
1:19:16 today. Would you like a short folklore
1:19:19 version of how it went? That's pretty
1:19:21 cool. All right. Well, there you have
1:19:23 it. Lore digital gods, thank you for the
1:19:27 gifts. I appreciate that, sir. Anyone
1:19:29 who's given me gifts, if I didn't see
1:19:30 them, I appreciate it.
1:19:35 All right, we'll we'll close up with
1:19:37 Deco here. Fine. Because I think we can
1:19:40 all agree that Silver Fox derailed this
1:19:44 train. [laughter]
1:19:47 And so now that we've got someone to
1:19:49 blame, also Silver Squirrel apologizes
1:19:53 for the decoir block. [laughter]
1:19:58 Okay, it's okay. [clears throat] We're
1:19:59 going to we're going to give them their
1:20:00 decode here. So, here we are at decco
1:20:02 here. So, we're going to go we're going
1:20:05 to generate an image.
1:20:09 And let's do
1:20:12 [snorts] Wait, do do I want to do an
1:20:14 image here or do I want to do it in
1:20:16 explore? No, I think I want to do it
1:20:18 here. Do it here. Generate an image. So,
1:20:21 we'll go uh we're going to go 16 by9.
1:20:26 No, we'll go
1:20:28 3x4
1:20:30 random prompt.
1:20:34 Okay, we're gonna go um
1:20:40 um spooky,
1:20:42 surreal,
1:20:50 Halloween,
1:20:53 nightmare, fuel,
1:20:58 full moon,
1:21:01 All
1:21:04 jacko lanterns.
1:21:11 All right, generate.
1:21:14 Oh, I've got to upgrade. Wait, I thought
1:21:17 I had deco here.
1:21:20 I guess I didn't.
1:21:23 Huh.
1:21:28 I don't have enough tokens to generate
1:21:31 an image,
1:21:33 you [ __ ] [laughter]
1:21:38 Wait, hang on. Hold on, people. Oh, I
1:21:40 just lost my prompt. God, dang it. Real
1:21:43 time AI. Start typing below. Um
1:21:48 um spooky
1:21:52 spooky
1:21:54 dark
1:21:57 scary hallows eve.
1:22:02 All right, there we go. Okay, so
1:22:06 if you haven't seen this before,
1:22:08 yeah, this is good. Um,
1:22:20 it's just instant image generation. So,
1:22:22 I'm at I'm in the real time AI thing.
1:22:24 Tik Tok pin stretching and folding
1:22:26 sourdough bread while I'm watching you,
1:22:30 Kyle. [laughter]
1:22:32 That's awesome. Wait, in case you're
1:22:34 wondering wondering what the smell is,
1:22:37 that's awesome. Okay. So, now what I can
1:22:40 do now that I've got these images, let
1:22:41 me go find one I like. Um, there was one
1:22:44 with the two houses. That one's pretty
1:22:45 cool. So, in the center here, I can
1:22:47 create this thing called the station.
1:22:51 Oh, I've got to upgrade now. I I must
1:22:54 have lost I must have had uh some sort
1:22:56 of uh
1:22:59 some sort of creative partner program on
1:23:01 Deco here that I lost because I can't
1:23:04 create a station now. All right. Well,
1:23:07 there you have it. Okay. Well, whatever.
1:23:10 [laughter]
1:23:12 So, it wasn't Silver Fox's fault that we
1:23:15 couldn't do deco here. It was mine.
1:23:18 [laughter]
1:23:22 All right, everybody. Listen,
1:23:23 [clears throat] have a fantastic
1:23:24 weekend. I hope you're all well and uh I
1:23:27 will see you on Monday. Oh, turn your
1:23:30 clocks back tomorrow. You got an extra
1:23:32 hour of AI. Oh, that's good. take your
1:23:34 extra hour tomorrow and and just play
1:23:38 with AI. Go play. All right, there you
1:23:40 have it. You go play with Deco here.
1:23:42 Apparently, you have to subscribe to it
1:23:44 to use it. I don't like it. I don't like
1:23:46 that one bit.
1:23:48 Okay. All right, everybody. Have a good
1:23:51 Friday night. Later.
