Description
FRIDAY NIGHT DATE NIGHT! Bring your nachos and your singing dogs!
In this engaging session, Kyle explores the concept of approaching artificial intelligence not just as a set of tools, but as a dedicated "practice." He discusses the importance of developing a personal AI policy, which involves intentionally defining your boundaries and figuring out how to use these technologies to fill personal skill gaps. This idea is expanded into a powerful message about reinvention, suggesting that AI offers everyone a unique opportunity to revisit and pursue forgotten childhood dreams. The conversation is enriched by a special guest appearance from Ann Murphy, who shares inspiring highlights from the all-women Create Conference. Ann paints a picture of a vibrant event where AI served as a catalyst for deep human connection, collaboration, and community building, proving that technology can enhance our shared human experience.
The discussion then pivots to a hands-on creative demonstration using the AI music generator, Suno. Using one of his original songs, "Trouble," as a foundation, Kyle takes suggestions from the live audience to generate wildly different cover versions across an impressive range of genres, including Americana, techno-rap, and even an Irish jig. This interactive segment showcases the remarkable creative potential of AI in music and serves as a springboard for Kyle's final call to action. He challenges his viewers with "weekend homework": to step out of their comfort zones, identify a skill they feel they lack, and use AI to tackle it, emphasizing that the true power of this technology lies in its ability to help us grow and overcome our perceived limitations.

I've been wondering 2:48 what it is I'm running from again. 2:51 [Music] 2:54 Feel like an 80y old man. 2:58 Holding on to 29 3:02 and up on that horizon 3:05 [Music] 3:08 is a California line. 3:11 [Music] 3:18 Up ahead of trucks carrying a wide load. 3:22 Preab house cut in half. 3:26 Cute little front door and two windows. 3:28 My love 3:30 ain't sure that a cry should laugh. 3:34 You see, I broke a home myself once. 3:38 As I stumbled to that door, 3:43 I read a note by the dawn light 3:47 said, "Don't you come around here 3:51 anymore. 3:55 [Music] 4:01 Happy Friday night, date night, 4:03 everybody. What's happening? We're 4:05 shaking. What's going down? 4:08 [Music] 4:15 I wonder. Let me go here and search 4:21 for trouble. 4:25 [Music] 4:32 ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding 4:35 ding 4:36 ding ding ding ding ding ding 4:41 ding ding ding ding dang. 4:45 Um, it's not there. 4:49 [Music] 4:58 standing between 5:01 you and a half place is the same. We 5:04 look for that standing between 5:11 standing 5:13 between 5:15 you and 5:18 a part. Oh no, that's not where I want 5:20 to be. Uh uh I know I'm not sharing my 5:23 screen. Calm down, everyone. Just 5:25 everybody calm down. 5:28 standing between 5:32 you and a hard 5:36 place. 5:49 What's that? 5:58 Where would that have been? iTunes 6:00 library. 6:05 [Laughter] 6:17 [Music] 6:19 There's versions of Sydney. 6:23 No, I don't have it. Huh. Weird 6:27 fine standing. 6:39 All right. I don't know what's going on. 6:42 I do not know what is happening. Good 6:45 people. 6:48 [Music] 6:54 [Music] 6:57 Happy Friday night everybody. Uh what is 7:00 going down? What is happening? 7:04 Do tell 7:06 anything exciting out in date night. 7:14 [Music] 7:27 All 7:55 right. 8:00 [Music] 8:07 [Music] 8:22 I know this is brainy, but after the 8:24 create conference 8:26 I'm thinking about my personal AI 8:28 policy. 8:31 Well, Sharon Crawford, hubby and I are 8:33 listening 8:35 to the rain and recovering from the flu. 8:38 We'll feel better. That's horrible. Uh, 8:41 but love listening to the rain. 8:43 [Music] 8:48 Um, having a personal AI policy is 8:50 really interesting. 8:53 So, we talked about something today in 8:55 the AI mastermind. I had a really good 8:57 conversation with Andy and Liz Miller 9:01 Gersfield today and we were talking 9:03 about the salon and, you know, what we 9:06 wanted to be and how we wanted to grow 9:07 and evolve. 9:09 And Liz was talking about the the people 9:12 that are 9:17 are finding their way with AI 9:22 having their way with AI. People that 9:24 are having their way with AI 9:26 um 9:30 right now and probably until further 9:33 notice are treating AI like a practice. 9:37 Um, 9:39 meaning it's just kind of a like like 9:41 showing up here every night is is a 9:42 practice, right? Um, 9:46 being open to new tools and and actively 9:48 seeking them out is a practice. Um, 9:52 having ideas and figuring out ways to do 9:54 them is a practice. Understanding 9:58 what gaps you have as a human being and 10:03 actively filling them in with AI is a 10:06 practice, right? Because it's scary. 10:10 And I think, you know, a personal AI 10:12 policy, it depends what you're talking 10:14 about. You might be talking about 10:15 governance, but but but 10:18 I think it's I think the whole idea of a 10:20 practice is that you're 10:23 you're working with AI intentionally and 10:26 and with purpose and and you're figuring 10:29 out what your boundaries are, right? How 10:32 far do I want to go? How much do I want 10:34 to learn? Because we what we've all 10:36 learned in this channel is we can't you 10:38 you literally can't learn at all. You 10:39 can't keep up with it, right? you can't 10:41 even keep up with it, much less be 10:43 competent at it. So, I think I think 10:46 it's it does start to feel like having a 10:49 personal AI policy is important. 10:52 [Music] 10:57 Tobias, what's happening? 11:00 You look more handsome than Tik Tok. 11:05 Well, hello. 11:07 It is Friday night date night. Good 11:09 evening. 11:10 [Music] 11:18 Well, you know what they say. YouTube 11:19 puts on 20 pounds. 11:31 [Music] 11:53 Woohoo! 11:54 [Music] 11:58 Woohoo! 11:59 [Music] 12:30 There's been Something baby I've been 12:33 trying to say 12:36 for aging. It seems I don't know how 12:42 with a past and a future now surrounding 12:45 me. 12:48 Surrender to what every tree can be 12:50 found. 12:53 There's been a little trouble 12:55 [Music] 12:57 since you came to my rescue. 12:59 [Music] 13:04 And if you like all of the rest, I would 13:07 regret you long ago, but I couldn't do 13:10 that. 13:11 [Music] 13:14 Oh, tell me now. Women in my heart never 13:18 went too well. 13:22 Make a man crazy, make him cold as hell. 13:28 I'm a woman that you wish me well. 13:32 But in spite of your trying, still going 13:35 to have to find 13:37 my own way through. 13:42 [Applause] 13:44 All right. The other thing I was 13:45 thinking about was the taming the taming 13:48 the overwhelm 13:51 by naming my home base. I think that 13:55 side hustle mimi it feels like you're 13:57 very much on to onto something which is 14:00 not surprising and curated some really 14:03 amazing speakers for the create 14:05 conference. 14:06 So the fact that you left there in a 14:09 contemplative place thinking like okay I 14:12 can do this I got to figure out my my 14:15 lane and I think that's right. So, so, 14:18 um, Brandon, uh, to me two nights ago, 14:21 last night, said he was in this 14:24 conversation at MCON and and and one of 14:27 the one of those, I don't know, speakers 14:29 or one of the attendees there said, "If 14:32 today someone asked you, what's your 14:34 internet strategy?" 14:36 You'd be like, "What?" Because like the 14:38 internet's everywhere. It's a part of 14:39 everything, right? So, you you don't 14:41 have an internet strategy. You just have 14:43 your strategy. You do what you do. AI is 14:46 moving in a similar direction, right? 14:48 So, so it's going to be ubiquitous. It's 14:50 going to be everywhere. So, as a 14:52 professional or just as a as a human 14:54 being, we have to we have to pick a lane 14:57 of focus, right? That's just part of 14:59 being a humanist. We can't do 15:00 everything. Can't be good at everything. 15:02 And so, I think that's really wise. I 15:04 think you're in exactly the right place. 15:05 And and that you don't have an immediate 15:07 answer is also the right place, right? 15:10 Because Joy, I see Joy Pertie's in the 15:13 in the house tonight. Joy Pertie, if you 15:16 look at her history as a professional, 15:19 she should be using AI to make sleep 15:21 studies more efficient, right? 15:29 But no, Joy Pertie is like, "No, I've 15:32 got I've had stories I've wanted to tell 15:35 my whole life, and I'm going to teach 15:37 myself film editing, and I'm going to 15:39 teach myself AI video, and I'm going to 15:42 reinvent myself." And so, I think 15:46 all of us to a person 15:49 have the opportunity 15:51 to basically start over and say, "What 15:53 do I want to be? What do I want to be? 15:56 What was that dream I had at seven that 15:58 I that I pinched out the flame? 16:02 Right. 16:05 Daddy told me I wasn't talented. 16:08 And I've never written a word since, 16:11 right? I mean, I joke, but like we've 16:15 all got that moment, right? We've all 16:17 got that moment in our childhood where 16:18 we snuffed it out. 16:21 Um, Kavuno, something that stuck with me 16:25 is a speaker who said, 16:28 "Oh, if it's not a hell yes, then it's a 16:31 hell no." Another great one, right? Like 16:34 if if if so today, uh, Claude announced 16:38 Claude Skills, which is basically just a 16:41 pre-written prompt you put in a markdown 16:43 document and you can turn them on and 16:46 off in the interface. It's a really 16:48 straightforward sort of thing, but like 16:51 you might be like, "Yeah, personalizing 16:53 LLMs is that's my jam and I'm going to 16:56 run down the we're going to make virtual 16:58 employees and I love virtual employees 17:00 and that's awesome." That might be your 17:02 thing. Someone else might be I want to 17:04 make movies. Someone else might be I 17:05 want to make automations. 17:08 Um, someone else might be I want to just 17:10 keep sort of surfing the the frothy top 17:13 until this thing stabilizes a bit. 17:16 [Music] 17:25 Did I get the video request? I don't 17:27 know what the video request is. Did you 17:28 send it in Tik Tok? 17:32 [Music] 17:34 What's disconcerting? 17:37 [Music] 17:43 I use green gummies for that. 17:48 It is Friday night date night. 17:52 Oh, tag you on a video. I didn't I 17:54 didn't see it. I've got like 25 unseen 17:58 Tik Tok tags. So, I just need to go in 18:00 there and clean them up this weekend. 18:01 So, I will I will probably see it this 18:03 weekend. 18:09 [Music] 18:30 Asteroid kills dinosaurs. Some birds 18:32 were able to survive. What guitar are 18:35 you strumming? This is a lovely guild. I 18:38 think it's a D30. 18:40 Yeah, D30AB. 18:42 But in 1987, 18:45 I got hired to be the jester for the 18:48 Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair in State 18:50 College, Pennsylvania. They paid me 18:54 $1,700. 18:58 And being a responsible college student, 19:00 actually a college graduate at that 19:02 point, I bought myself a uh $600 19:06 mountain bike and an $1,100 guitar. 19:16 And I'll tell you, I've never found a 19:18 guitar that sounds as good as this one. 19:20 I love this guitar. 19:22 [Music] 19:25 It's just got 19:30 It's just so warm and deep, but it's 19:32 still got 19:39 [Music] 19:48 [Applause] 19:49 [Music] 19:51 Heat. Heat. 19:56 [Music] 20:13 Oh, good lordy. Good lordy. Good lordy. 20:15 Good lordy. 20:20 What are y'all thinking? 20:23 Gemini is freaking out. I was freaking 20:25 amazing at it. At what? What's Gemini 20:29 freaking amazing at? 20:31 Hey Kyle, I learned that I can take the 20:34 transcripts of your lives and then turn 20:36 them into PDF documents with just a 20:38 little work. Gemini is amazing at it. I 20:40 got to tell you, man, the thing the 20:43 thing everyone talks about with AI is 20:45 generating original documents, which I 20:48 do all the time, but like there it's 20:51 just crappy at it still, right? Like the 20:53 the large language models, they're just 20:55 not great. It takes a lot of work to get 20:58 something usable. But where they're 21:00 [ __ ] amazing is you take a bunch of 21:03 unstructured data, like one of my 21:04 nightly rambles, and it just instantly 21:08 interprets and categorizes stuff. Like 21:10 that to me is is the miracle of LLMs 21:13 right now. The the thing they do really 21:15 well. Notebook LM's great at it. Um, 21:17 Chat EBT is great at it. Claude's great 21:19 at it. 21:22 [Music] 21:29 [Music] 22:01 I wonder if that's a Should we do a 22:03 sunno? I I I am I am drawn to my my 22:07 little picking patterns here tonight. 22:12 [Music] 22:16 Joy perie. I like Claude's writing 22:18 skills. Let's do a Sunno. I'm going to 22:22 need a little more effort on your part, 22:24 Kyle. Well, that's I think I think 22:27 that's the theme of the AI learning lab. 22:29 Yeah, you know, it was really nice. I 22:31 went I mean, he seems super sweet and 22:33 everything. You know, he's certainly 22:35 passionate about something. Not really 22:36 sure what. Anyway, um I just I I like 22:41 the channel. I just think, you know, it 22:43 if it were a little bit more, it would 22:45 be so nice. It would if there were 22:48 something that I could take from it 22:50 would be really fantastic. That then it 22:55 then it would the the word learning has 22:57 always kind of bugged me because I just 22:59 is is he learning on our dime or like is 23:02 he teaching? Is what's with the dog 23:05 singing? I don't I don't understand it. 23:08 But it just if just a little bit more 23:10 and it it would be something, right? You 23:13 understand? 23:16 That could be the song subject. You got 23:18 me beside. 23:20 Wait. You got Oh, you got me beside you 23:23 till the plane lands. Then back to our 23:26 lives. 23:28 [Music] 23:37 Wait. 23:41 [Music] 23:41 All 24:00 right, let's see if let's let's go to 24:02 suno. Let's do it. 24:06 No, he's doing suno a lot lately. Do do 24:09 you feel that? What if we're not into 24:11 music? 24:13 Have you ever noticed that the songs he 24:15 plays are all a little depressing? It's 24:17 a little sad. It's a little sad, right? 24:21 You notice that, right? Like you're like 24:23 I come in there with high energy. I'm 24:25 like, "Oh, good. I'm going to learn 24:26 about AI." And then and then the dog 24:28 sings and that that makes my dog upset, 24:30 of course. And then and then um and then 24:32 he starts talking and it I I don't ever 24:35 know what he says. He never really 24:36 finishes a sentence, but then he plays 24:38 his guitar a little bit and it's just 24:39 sad. It just makes me sad. 24:44 Okay. 24:51 Oh my god. 24:58 Oh, 24:59 to be fair, Sununo is absolutely 25:01 fantastic. 25:03 Now I can't seem to get a bad song. No, 25:06 like five is pretty pretty remarkable. 25:10 Um, okay. Do I need to turn on my 25:13 microphone? Oh, there went that thing 25:15 again. That's weird. Why does it do 25:18 that? 25:19 Am I 25:25 Hello. 25:27 Hello. 25:29 Let's see. Start over. 25:33 Hello. Hello. Hello. Where's that 25:36 microphone? 25:38 Hang on a sec. Hold, please. 25:45 Let's see. That's Wi-Fi. Here's audio. 25:48 Sound settings. 25:56 All right. Input PDX 26:00 Y. Hello. Hello. 26:06 Hello. 26:09 Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. 26:13 Hello. 26:15 Is this When I tap this, are you guys 26:17 hearing me tap that? It's probably 26:18 driving you crazy. Oh, yeah. Yeah. 26:21 Right. Kyle, mom wants me to tell you 26:25 that she loves all the videos you're 26:27 posting on Tik Tok. Hold, please. 26:31 Thank you. 26:32 Um, 26:35 [Music] 26:43 definitely this is not an AI live. 26:47 [Music] 26:49 You're not hearing that. 26:52 Okay, that's weird. 26:56 Wait, let me see. 26:59 Do I have audio settings here? Where? 27:03 Hang on. Just hang on, people. Everybody 27:06 calm down. 27:10 I'm fairly certain I don't know what I'm 27:12 doing. 27:14 Manage subscription. Manage account. 27:18 Audio. Record. 27:25 Okay, that's coming through there now. 27:27 Yeah. Okay. 27:30 Okay. Start over. All right. Let's see. 27:35 So, let me turn this down to the guitar. 27:46 [Music] 28:08 Okay, that was garbage. That was 28:10 garbage. Listen, you can't hit the 28:12 record button. 28:15 My fingers freeze up. I feel I feel like 28:17 a a stone statue the minute I hit the 28:20 record button. I'm in a flop sweat. 28:27 Okay, this could turn into something 28:29 awesome. 28:32 Okay, here we go again. 28:34 [Music] 29:03 Okay. 29:05 Save 29:06 cover. 29:08 Can't fetch the audio. Upload. Please 29:10 upload a different audio. Really? 29:13 Really? You lost my audio? You lost that 29:15 performance? 29:17 Come on. Did you Did you really Wait, 29:20 hang on. 29:27 Yeah, it lost my recording. That is just 29:29 criminal. All right. Well, 29:33 audio record. 29:37 All right. 29:38 [Music] 30:02 [Applause] 30:04 [Music] 30:08 Okay. Are we going to save it this time? 30:13 Uploading. 30:15 No. 30:18 Hang on. I know what I need to do. 30:24 [Laughter] 30:28 What did you do Friday night? I don't 30:30 want to talk about it. Why not? Was it 30:32 Was it cool? No. What' you do? 30:38 This is embarrassing. What'd you do? 30:41 I I watched some old guy try to use 30:43 software for two hours. 30:46 What? 30:56 Welcome to the AI learning lab where you 30:58 too can watch the awkward silence as an 31:02 old guy fumbles with technology. 31:07 Shouldn't they call this Boomer learning 31:08 lab? I'm I'm a Gen Xer. Damn it, by the 31:11 way. Don't you boomer me freaks. 31:15 [Music] 31:54 Okay, let's see if it saves now. Should 31:56 save because I reloaded. Please save. 32:00 Oh, and I'm not even sharing this tab. 32:04 Can't fetch the uploaded audio. Well, I 32:07 guess we're not doing this. God damn it. 32:10 Really? 32:12 Is that 32:14 Come on. Seriously, let me try a new 32:17 tab. 32:19 So, 32:21 we'll try one more time. If this doesn't 32:23 work, then it means I have to restart my 32:24 browser, which I'm not going to do 32:26 because that means that I have to shut 32:27 down the stream and I'm not going to do 32:28 that. So then we'll just go back to 32:30 awkwardly sitting in silence until you 32:32 guys tell me what to do. 32:42 Okay. Create 32:45 audio. Record. Record. 32:50 [Music] 33:09 God damn it. There was a 34:11 time when having when owning a Macintosh 34:14 meant that you never had to restart your 34:16 machine 34:18 ever. 34:20 So for years when I would restart my 34:23 machine is when there was a power 34:25 outage, right? or when I when I had to 34:27 move my computer 34:31 and and now 34:33 everything's gotten so bloated and 34:35 overblown 34:37 and and Chrome is such a dog [ __ ] 34:39 browser with its memory management that 34:41 you actually have to restart stuff 34:43 occasionally. So, 34:46 [Laughter] 34:55 should we make a song about No, that's 34:59 boring. 35:01 No. All right. What do we Yeah. You You 35:05 have an idea? 35:06 >> Uh, well, I just wanted to share that uh 35:08 we've been so patient with you thus far. 35:11 wanted to restart your browser, we would 35:14 all still be here because Streamyard is 35:16 still active in producers world. 35:20 >> Oh, really? 35:21 >> So, 35:21 >> Oh, okay. All right. Well, I'll try 35:24 that. Well, do I want to try that? How 35:26 far in are we? [ __ ] 36 minutes in. We 35:31 haven't really started yet. 35:32 >> I mean, 30 minute hellos are, you know, 35:35 >> it is it is kind of the tradition. All 35:36 right, you all party. I'll be back. 35:43 Tik Tok. I accidentally 1:04:59 deleted all of my social media apps, 1:05:01 including this one, including Tik Tok. 1:05:10 That's hilarious. 1:05:12 I mean, it's not. Yes. Five minutes. Oh, 1:05:15 okay. 1:05:17 Ann Murphy's going to come up in five 1:05:18 minutes. just spent the last 15 minutes 1:05:21 trying to get everything back. Um, before we get Ann up here, 1:05:32 I'll show you uh Claude uh Claude's 1:05:35 skills, how to find them. I don't know a 1:05:38 ton about them yet, except I did have 1:05:40 chat GPT write me 1:05:44 um write me some of them. write me some 1:05:48 instructions. So, what you do, let me do 1:05:51 a new new chat. 1:05:54 New chat. Okay, so you're at Claude. If 1:05:56 you go to your settings down here at the 1:05:58 bottom and you go to settings 1:06:01 and then in here there's this thing 1:06:03 called capabilities. So, they market 1:06:05 them as skills and then they call them 1:06:08 capabilities. 1:06:10 Well, capabilities are are one thing. 1:06:12 There are other things here like 1:06:13 artifacts, memory, 1:06:16 and then down here at the bottom, 1:06:18 there's this new thing called skills, 1:06:20 and you have to turn them on. So, I I've 1:06:23 already turned them on. And once you 1:06:26 need to turn on I don't know, there's 1:06:28 some there's some thing you need to 1:06:29 enable. 1:06:31 And then once they're there, um, 1:06:37 can you try and chat? Once you're there, 1:06:40 you you they have all these skills that 1:06:42 are that are pre-built for you, like 1:06:45 like a Slack GIF creator or an MCP 1:06:49 builder or an internal comms person or a 1:06:52 canvas design. Wait, create beautiful 1:06:55 visual art in PNG and PDF documents 1:06:59 using design philosophy. I don't know 1:07:00 how it's doing that because I don't 1:07:02 think this generates images, but 1:07:04 whatever. Brand guidelines. And then you 1:07:06 can make your own. 1:07:08 Um, 1:07:10 and so what you do is you basically make 1:07:12 a markdown image. Let me go show you 1:07:14 I'll show you the format that chatbt did 1:07:16 for me after reading 1:07:19 the instructions. 1:07:23 So let me wait. Let me show you how I 1:07:24 did that. So in here 1:07:28 where it says skills and then over here 1:07:31 it says learn more. If you click on 1:07:33 learn more, that will take you to a 1:07:38 document that teaches you how to make 1:07:41 these skills files. 1:07:43 So, they're basically just what these 1:07:45 are. This is what these they're actually 1:07:48 quite simple. They're structured 1:07:50 prompts, right? So, you know, before 1:07:52 where I just said act like a Grammy 1:07:54 award-winning lyricist and then wrote 1:07:56 shitty lyrics. Imagine actually spending 1:07:58 a decent amount of time 1:08:00 like defining what writing good lyrics 1:08:04 means. You could you could create a 1:08:06 custom prompt 1:08:08 that 1:08:10 makes Claude be better at that skill and 1:08:13 you can just call that skill. Um, and 1:08:16 then you have to create a skill.md file 1:08:20 and and then they describe how to do it 1:08:22 and they show some examples, right? And 1:08:24 so this is just markdown language like 1:08:26 these are little descriptors and you 1:08:28 know our official brand colors are and 1:08:31 here's here's our typography what we use 1:08:34 and here's our logo. So you're just 1:08:36 basically writing 1:08:40 prompts. You're writing instructions in 1:08:42 a particularly structured way. And then 1:08:45 what I did 1:08:49 it it's it's not really cloud custom 1:08:52 GPTs Brandon because you can call 1:08:54 multiple skills 1:08:57 in a in a session. So it's like having 1:09:01 it's like having 1:09:03 it's I I guess it's sort of like calling 1:09:05 in custom GPTs, but it's more like 1:09:07 calling in custom prompts with a tag. 1:09:11 Um, but what I did skill ideas for LLMs. 1:09:16 So what I did was I went into chat GPT 1:09:20 and I gave it the address of the skill 1:09:24 instructions and then I said come up 1:09:27 with 20 ideas and then I didn't like any 1:09:30 of the those ideas. So then I just told 1:09:32 it to make me one ideiation business 1:09:35 strategist. And so then it wrote this 1:09:38 big long 1:09:40 um thing and then you can save this out 1:09:44 as as a markdown file and then over in 1:09:48 Claude you can upload a skill. So you 1:09:51 can add your own skills. Um Nate B Jones 1:09:54 made an interesting video today where 1:09:58 once you have that markdown file you can 1:10:01 also use it in chat GPT. You can also 1:10:03 use it in perplexity. You can also use 1:10:05 it in in Grock, anywhere where you can 1:10:07 upload a file um into your prompt. Um 1:10:11 you could use that file. So you could 1:10:14 take this structured um approach and 1:10:18 then have chat GPT write you out a bunch 1:10:20 of things. you can go in and edit them 1:10:21 and add your own rules and things like 1:10:23 that and then you can add them and then 1:10:25 and then the way you turn them on in 1:10:27 Claude 1:10:29 is you just enable the specific skills 1:10:32 that you want to have access to and then 1:10:34 you can call call multiple ones 1:10:38 once you're in there. All right. 1:10:43 Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. 1:10:45 Beautiful. 1:10:49 I think I'm going to scoot over to 1:10:50 YouTube. Um, I can't read any of your 1:10:54 stuff here. Hang on. More elegant and 1:10:56 clawed because it's built into the 1:10:58 background. Is anyone else having 1:10:59 trouble with the audio repeating itself 1:11:02 in snippets? Weird, huh? 1:11:06 That could just be me. That could just 1:11:08 be me. 1:11:10 You see what I did there? It it it was 1:11:13 it was audio 1:11:16 repeating itself in in snippets. 1:11:22 Ann, are you coming up? 1:11:26 Come save me. 1:11:31 [Laughter] 1:11:36 [Music] 1:11:37 Real little real. 1:11:39 [Music] 1:12:05 [Music] 1:12:06 All 1:12:08 right. What are we doing? What are we 1:12:09 doing, people? Um, let me let me see. 1:12:14 We'll go over to Notebook LM for a 1:12:17 second. 1:12:19 Um, 1:12:23 share this tab. Okay, so there's some 1:12:24 new stuff in Notebook LM if you haven't 1:12:26 seen it. Um, 1:12:32 let's see. Do this. Do this. Do this. 1:12:37 Oh, I know what I can do. View, 1:12:41 show bookmarks. That helps. Okay, 1:12:50 sea slug of doom. Let's all just enjoy 1:12:52 my autotapper. Okay, we're going to go 1:12:54 into a notebook LM right now. So, 1:12:57 they've added they've added a bunch of 1:13:00 new things into notebook LM. One is you 1:13:03 can generate flash cards. 1:13:06 So here's flash cards for this Aristotle 1:13:10 thing 1:13:12 and they're kind of slick. You can if 1:13:14 you click on them it flips over to show 1:13:15 you the answer. So it's like a little 1:13:17 study guide. According to Aristotle, 1:13:19 what parts of substance considered in 1:13:21 relation to the whole? 1:13:24 Like how are parts of substances 1:13:26 considered in relation to the whole? 1:13:28 They are present in the whole. This is 1:13:30 different from being present in a 1:13:32 subject which is defined as being 1:13:34 otherwise than as parts in a whole 1:13:38 explain 1:13:39 and then and then it explains. So you 1:13:42 can do flashcards now. So those are 1:13:44 pretty slick. Um you can do 1:13:48 um audio overviews of course you can do 1:13:52 quizzes. 1:13:53 So here's a quiz. 1:13:56 So one of 15 questions according to 1:13:58 Aristotle description of substances what 1:14:00 is defining characteristics of secondary 1:14:03 substances like species of or genus? 1:14:07 Um and so you can do a little quiz and 1:14:10 then 1:14:12 in video overview they've added a bunch 1:14:14 of new styles. So they've added auto 1:14:17 select classic which is what it was 1:14:19 before whiteboard 1:14:22 watercolor 1:14:24 retro paint and heritage and paper craft 1:14:28 and anime. 1:14:30 So let's do anime and we'll generate 1:14:32 that. And then let's see. I've done a 1:14:35 couple of these. 1:14:45 All right, today we're cracking open a 1:14:47 toolkit that's, get this, 2400 years 1:14:50 old. A toolkit designed to build 1:14:52 arguments that are basically 1:14:54 indestructible. Let's dive in. I mean, 1:14:57 really think about that for a second. 1:14:58 How do you build an argument that just 1:15:00 can't be knocked down? You know, whether 1:15:02 you're in a big debate, a work meeting, 1:15:04 or heck, even just writing an email. How 1:15:05 do you make your point so solid that 1:15:07 nobody can argue with it? Well, it turns 1:15:10 out the blueprint for this wasn't cooked 1:15:12 up by some modern-day consultant or 1:15:14 Silicon Valley guru. Nope. It was 1:15:16 designed, get this, 2400 years ago, by a 1:15:19 true master architect of reason all the 1:15:22 way back in ancient Greece. 1:15:23 >> So, that's the watercolor style. So, 1:15:26 let's look at 1:15:28 those toolkit 1:15:32 or that that was whiteboard style, not 1:15:34 watercolor. I don't know what this one 1:15:36 was. 1:15:37 >> All right. Today we are cracking open a 1:15:39 toolkit for clear thinking that's over 1:15:41 2,000 years old straight from the mind 1:15:44 of Aristotle. And look, this isn't going 1:15:46 to be some dusty, boring philosophy 1:15:47 lecture. This is a practical guide for 1:15:49 cutting through all the noise of the 1:15:51 modern world and learning how to build 1:15:52 arguments that act. 1:15:53 >> By the way, the the the source of if if 1:15:57 you're new to notebook LM, I sorry I 1:16:00 didn't talk about this before. In 1:16:03 notebook LM on the left hand side here, 1:16:05 you have sources. So the source of this 1:16:07 notebook is the complete works of 1:16:09 Aristotle. So you can have up to I think 1:16:12 it's 300 documents now. You can have 300 1:16:15 different documents here and then you 1:16:17 can just build audio overviews of some 1:16:19 or all of those documents and and these 1:16:23 videos that we're watching um it's the 1:16:26 these are dynamically generated from you 1:16:30 know from the from the data. So, it's 1:16:33 pretty pretty something what you can do. 1:16:36 Now, 1:16:38 >> I have to find the ultimate why behind 1:16:39 it all. It's simple. It's powerful and 1:16:42 it's timeless. All right, let's break 1:16:44 down that first tool. Define it. This is 1:16:47 maybe the most important step because 1:16:49 it's about building a solid foundation. 1:16:51 And it's all about separating what a 1:16:53 thing is from all the things we can say 1:16:55 about it. Aristotle's starting point for 1:16:58 this is what he called primary 1:17:00 substance. Now that sounds academic, but 1:17:03 it's a really simple idea. Just think of 1:17:05 it as the fundamental thisness of a 1:17:08 thing. The actual individual thing that 1:17:10 exists. So not dog as a general idea, 1:17:14 but this specific dog sitting right 1:17:16 here. It's the subject of our sentence, 1:17:18 the foundation everything else is built 1:17:20 on. And this slide just lays out the 1:17:23 difference perfectly. The substance is 1:17:25 the individual. 1:17:27 >> All right. So that's G grav g. 1:17:33 Um, 1:17:38 oh my Aristotle toolkit is in which LLM, 1:17:41 please. This is in um this is I just 1:17:45 went this is I'm just in notebook LLM 1:17:47 right now. And so in notebook LM I've 1:17:52 just I went to the internet. I went to 1:17:54 the Google and I looked up complete 1:17:57 works of Aristotle and found a PDF of 1:18:00 the complete works of Aristotle and then 1:18:02 just uploaded that to this. Here's why I 1:18:05 did this. There's there's a video of 1:18:07 Steve Jobs in 1985 where he basically 1:18:10 predicts AI. 1:18:12 And he says, "Imagine a day when we can 1:18:14 build a technology where I can talk to 1:18:16 one of my heroes, Aristotle. Imagine a a 1:18:19 technology, a machine that could capture 1:18:23 the world view and the essence of who he 1:18:25 was. 1:18:28 Oh, is an backstage? Ann should be 1:18:30 backstage. No, she's not. You're not 1:18:32 there. 1:18:34 Did you get her the uh the uh what you 1:18:37 call it? 1:18:39 Notebook LM. Yeah. Notebookm.google.com. 1:18:48 Let me go back out. She's there. Where? 1:18:52 Oh, she's down below. I see. 1:18:57 >> Yo. 1:18:58 >> Yo, 1:19:00 >> what's shaking? 1:19:02 >> Hello. 1:19:02 >> I I all day today I have been talking to 1:19:05 women that are like, "Holy [ __ ] that 1:19:07 weekend was amazing." 1:19:09 So So uh so I need to hear from yours. 1:19:13 Now, you can't you can't just like kiss 1:19:16 ass just cuz there's some people that 1:19:17 were here and there. You got to tell me 1:19:20 how it really was. Like, we want the 1:19:21 dirt. We want the tea. 1:19:23 >> No, I don't have any tea. It was 1:19:26 amazing. 1:19:27 >> I don't have any tea. 1:19:29 >> I Listen, I I got I got ears full from 1:19:32 people who are normal. They They don't 1:19:34 hold back. Let's put it that way. You 1:19:36 know, some of them. And uh and uh they 1:19:41 were here. I I see what Brandon's doing. 1:19:43 Let's make you big. Wait, why can I 1:19:46 >> hang on? 1:19:48 We'll just leave it like that, Brandon. 1:19:50 Um 1:19:50 >> Oh dear. Me. Okay. 1:19:52 >> Yeah. PE people who have big opinions to 1:19:55 to a person were like, "No, it was 1:19:57 really incredible." So, sounds like you 1:19:59 you kicked ass. 1:20:00 >> Yeah. I mean, it was it was so much fun. 1:20:04 So, um there is a woman named Olivia and 1:20:09 her her last actually uh side hustle 1:20:12 Mimi might know her last name. It's like 1:20:14 it starts with an O. Um we were having 1:20:17 so much fun. I mean definitely were very 1:20:20 serious. We learned a lot of things from 1:20:22 each other. But one of the attendees, 1:20:25 Olivia, she has a dream to get on the 1:20:27 Jennifer Hudson show. And so she, you 1:20:30 know, she makes music. She has a radio 1:20:32 station. She's an educator. And so she 1:20:35 wrote a song for the conference of 1:20:37 course. 1:20:38 >> Nice. 1:20:38 >> And then um after lunch is before we 1:20:42 started off her our like next afternoon 1:20:44 of sessions, we did a spirit tunnel for 1:20:46 her 1:20:47 >> and it's on LinkedIn right now. So we 1:20:50 all 30 of us lined up, one person on the 1:20:52 other side, one person on the other. And 1:20:54 we made up a chant um that Cindy [ __ ] 1:20:59 then yelled out and we all clapped and 1:21:01 we sang and Olivia danced down through 1:21:03 the spirit tunnel and she sent it to the 1:21:07 Jennifer Hudson show. Now this is not 1:21:10 your typical AI conference obviously if 1:21:12 we're doing spirit tunnels. We were we 1:21:15 were dancing. We were laughing. We were 1:21:17 hugging, crying. We ate so much food. 1:21:23 And 1:21:23 >> Cindy said it was a ridiculous amount of 1:21:26 food. 1:21:27 >> Yes. Donnie is like the most popular guy 1:21:29 because um you know we I mean we we ate 1:21:33 like the queens that we are because we 1:21:35 had budget because of you know like you 1:21:39 know this the world being the way that 1:21:40 it is. So we had ribs for lunch and like 1:21:43 creme brush like bral 1:21:48 bashimal cream or whatever it's called. 1:21:51 Um 1:21:52 >> macaroni and cheese and like I mean just 1:21:55 ridiculous. 1:21:57 But that was the thing is so here's the 1:21:59 thing. 1:22:01 It is. I mean, I can't everything that 1:22:04 you and I have ever talked about about 1:22:05 the importance of showing up in spaces 1:22:08 with other people 1:22:09 >> as your whole human self, your real 1:22:12 self. You cannot 1:22:14 >> mask severely for that many days, right? 1:22:17 Like we were in a space where we could 1:22:20 all show up and none of us were masking 1:22:22 like corporate giries like we all used 1:22:24 to in our previous lives either. So we 1:22:27 were wearing colorful 1:22:28 >> or like giries when you have men there 1:22:30 which changes that that dynamic as well, 1:22:33 right? 1:22:33 >> Yes. Exactly. Exactly. So no guys there, 1:22:36 no posturing. Um just it felt like a 1:22:41 reunion. 1:22:42 >> Huh. 1:22:43 >> I don't know how to describe it. For 1:22:45 some of us who've known each other for a 1:22:46 long time, like me and me and Side 1:22:48 Hustle Mimi, like we've known each other 1:22:50 here, but I've never even been on a Zoom 1:22:53 screen with 1:22:54 >> Wow. you know, and so but but yet when 1:22:57 we met it was like, oh my god, like 1:23:00 we're finally together. And that's how 1:23:03 it felt with the women that you hadn't 1:23:04 met yet as well. The vibes were just 1:23:08 immaculate. 1:23:10 >> The speakers were to die for. Um yeah, 1:23:15 like just the whole everything about it 1:23:17 was 1:23:19 I it just it doesn't seem like a 1:23:21 conference. I mean, obviously it was a 1:23:23 conference, but it felt more like a 1:23:26 retreat, at least for me. And I don't 1:23:28 know what other women would say, but the 1:23:30 fact that I came home like I did crash 1:23:32 today because you know you're supposed 1:23:33 to have like postpartum after your 1:23:35 event. 1:23:37 >> No serotonin to be had. There's no 1:23:41 >> It's gone. It has left the building. I'm 1:23:43 going to be sad for a long for a number 1:23:45 of days. But um 1:23:47 >> but 1:23:48 >> you don't you don't have time to be sad. 1:23:49 We got to get ready for festivals. 1:23:52 But here's here's when I knew so like 1:23:55 there were a couple of there were a 1:23:56 couple of like big big aha moments for 1:23:59 me. One was when the woman Dr. Penny 1:24:03 Atkins, she runs the 1:24:06 um one responsible AI initiative for the 1:24:10 state of Utah based at University of 1:24:12 Utah. 1:24:13 >> And she commented on a panel early on in 1:24:16 the conference that she was intimidated 1:24:19 coming into the space with us. She runs 1:24:21 a $50 million center. 1:24:24 >> Wow. 1:24:25 >> And she was nervous coming into a space 1:24:27 with us. And so later on I checked in 1:24:29 with everybody. I said, "Who here was, 1:24:32 you know, feeling a little bit out of 1:24:34 their comfort zone coming in here, like 1:24:36 somehow or another they're gonna 1:24:37 everybody there is going to be smarter 1:24:38 than them?" Everyone raised their hand. 1:24:40 >> Oh my gosh. Now, who here has met 1:24:42 somebody that they will be friends with 1:24:44 for the rest of their life? And hands 1:24:46 all shot up. 1:24:48 >> Really? 1:24:49 >> We're friends for life. We are. This 1:24:50 group, this this 70 women is the OG 1:24:54 create. I mean, this is the Create Con 1:24:58 OG's forever and it's just going to 1:25:01 build from here. It was phenomenal. 1:25:04 >> Yeah. I heard on on uh on office hours 1:25:07 today there were some folks talking 1:25:09 about it and they they said that the 1:25:11 thing that struck them the most was how 1:25:13 much it it was like AI was the thing in 1:25:17 the background. 1:25:18 >> Yeah. 1:25:19 >> And it was it was just about connecting 1:25:21 like you said just being and connecting. 1:25:24 being and connecting and 1:25:27 >> listen I mean quite frankly I think it's 1:25:29 I think it's that level of connection 1:25:31 and empathy and and human engagement why 1:25:36 women are so [ __ ] good at AI you know 1:25:40 right a large language model and it's 1:25:42 like you know I just it it makes such 1:25:46 sense so that's that's really amazing to 1:25:47 hear I'm so glad because I know I know 1:25:49 that's a big stressful thing the 1:25:51 inaugural you know 1:25:52 >> the inaugural Yeah, hotel rooms and 1:25:56 pray, right? 1:25:57 >> The first Yeah, the first pancake as it 1:26:00 were. Um 1:26:02 >> yeah, it was all like there are so many 1:26:05 things that are going to come out of 1:26:07 this. For example, um Vanessa Chang. So 1:26:10 for those of your listen of your of your 1:26:12 um audience who don't yet know who 1:26:14 Vanessa Chang is, she's here. She's on 1:26:17 Tik Tok. Yeah. 1:26:18 >> And I'm sure her her content is on um 1:26:20 YouTube as well. She has I mean she's 1:26:23 this like an independent scholar and she 1:26:25 is redefining 1:26:28 intelligence and what it is what smart 1:26:30 is. She gave us all a whole new way of 1:26:34 thinking about how to how we think and 1:26:37 what gets recognized and what gets 1:26:39 rewarded because as girls growing up, 1:26:42 you know, 1:26:43 >> you got to be smart but not too smart, 1:26:45 all this stuff. And now so like and then 1:26:48 there are of course the collaborations 1:26:50 that are that are going to come out of 1:26:52 this and there are the businesses that 1:26:54 are going to come out of this and there 1:26:55 are the friendships and 1:26:57 all the things like that got started 1:27:00 there 1:27:02 >> we I know for sure there's no question 1:27:04 and and side hustle Mimi can can confirm 1:27:06 or deny this but I that we as we keep 1:27:10 track of each other over the course of 1:27:12 time so much of what happens in the next 1:27:15 10 years is going to started at create 1:27:17 this year. 1:27:18 >> That's so cool. That's so cool. 1:27:20 >> Yeah, 1:27:21 >> it's really good. It's really good. 1:27:24 >> We had um I gotta tell you I gotta tell 1:27:25 you this one thing. Everyone will find 1:27:27 this entertaining. So, we had one woman 1:27:30 >> um in So, Rachel Zipsy drove a motor 1:27:33 home across the country to get there 1:27:35 with her two dogs and she's been passing 1:27:38 out. She has her um it's a million 1:27:40 hearts movement. Each of these hearts 1:27:42 has a message on them and you you give 1:27:45 them to people. You give like two to a 1:27:47 person and so they can give some give 1:27:49 one to somebody else. 1:27:51 >> So she drove her her um rented an RV, 1:27:55 drove it across the country. 1:27:57 >> Um we had these two um girls from 1:28:01 Southern Utah University. They took a 1:28:04 bus, like some janky bus in the like in 1:28:06 the middle of the night to get to the 1:28:08 conference. This one lady flew her 1:28:10 private plane to get to the conference. 1:28:13 >> So, well, who was it? Someone texted me. 1:28:15 I forget who it was. 1:28:16 >> Oh, and then Kate Gomez, we she 1:28:20 was planning to fly overnight. People 1:28:23 >> pe people went and got one woman went 1:28:25 and got another credit card 1:28:27 >> in order. I'm like people were there 1:28:30 like with a purpose. No one everyone 1:28:34 sacrificed something because it's not, 1:28:36 you know, it's a pain in the ass. We all 1:28:38 want to sit at home in our stretchy 1:28:39 pants. 1:28:40 >> Yeah. 1:28:40 >> Like 1:28:41 >> what was the what was the balance of 1:28:43 people that were kind of deep in it 1:28:45 versus people that were like I gota I 1:28:47 got to get my [ __ ] together or like I 1:28:49 you know I I've heard I' I need to be an 1:28:52 AI person now. 1:28:54 Um uh well I'll give you an example like 1:28:57 one woman um is leading 1:29:01 the whole AI oh by the way Mimi is she 1:29:07 is a rock star. 1:29:08 >> Yeah. 1:29:09 >> Oh my godimi is a rockar and she should 1:29:13 be speaking at um at uh you know the AI 1:29:16 meet and greet the salon meet and greets 1:29:19 for sure. 1:29:20 >> Okay cool. 1:29:20 >> You've got all these. So that I would 1:29:22 say most women were 1:29:26 into the 1:29:28 >> side hustle mean stop. 1:29:31 >> Uhhuh. No, she's a she's a badass. She's 1:29:34 a badass. 1:29:35 >> And so I would say most women were like, 1:29:38 "Yeah, I'm pretty damn serious about 1:29:40 this." Or more. 1:29:41 >> Yeah. But but you know we had a 1:29:44 buildathon 1:29:45 in the pre-conference and of the 20 1:29:49 women who were there were many who had 1:29:51 not built anything before. 1:29:53 >> Great. That's awesome. 1:29:54 >> And now they're already like full on. 1:29:57 It's game on. They're building. They're 1:29:58 launching. They're 1:30:00 >> I mean that's that's the this is the 1:30:02 whole thing about about community, isn't 1:30:04 it? Where if you have a community that's 1:30:07 welcoming, you can come in and be like, 1:30:08 I don't know anything, right? And then 1:30:10 before you know it, you're like, "Oh my 1:30:11 god, I could do this and I can do this." 1:30:13 Right. 1:30:15 >> That's awesome. 1:30:17 >> Yeah. We had people scouting us from 1:30:19 other other AI conferences. 1:30:21 >> Yeah. 1:30:22 >> Um the uh visit Salt Lake City people 1:30:25 came in because they want us to run a a 1:30:28 a track for them for their new summit 1:30:32 that they have in February. Like 1:30:35 >> Wow. 1:30:36 >> Yeah. And we're just like we're just all 1:30:37 best. Sabrina was there. She took people 1:30:39 aside and did a vibe coding thing like 1:30:42 >> and we're just all gonna be best friends 1:30:44 forever. 1:30:45 >> That's so cool. 1:30:46 >> Well, congratulations. 1:30:48 >> Thank you, Kyle. I am so happy that the 1:30:50 AI salon showed up with such such gusto 1:30:54 for us. Like it was so cool to be able 1:30:55 to talk about the salon. Like I told for 1:30:59 everybody who's there like it was like a 1:31:01 Kyle love fest. You're the only besides 1:31:04 Donnie and Norman who was taking photos. 1:31:07 It was the the trifecta of the allies 1:31:10 and 1:31:11 >> that's great. 1:31:12 >> Yeah. And Daisy killed it and Kathy and 1:31:15 people were fired up coming out of their 1:31:17 session starting to talk to their 1:31:19 legislators. 1:31:20 >> Yeah. 1:31:21 >> Yeah. It was good. 1:31:23 >> Thank you for Thank you for the 1:31:24 partnership. It's really 1:31:25 >> Yeah. Well, no, I'm I'm really glad we 1:31:27 could support it and I just, you know, 1:31:29 it was it's so it was so good to hear 1:31:31 just like I've had so many women 1:31:34 independently 1:31:36 just just say how blown away they were 1:31:38 by it. So, 1:31:39 >> it was special. It was It was another It 1:31:42 was another world. I feel I feel very 1:31:44 very fortunate. 1:31:46 >> Wow. So cool. 1:31:47 >> Yeah. 1:31:47 >> Beautiful. Um 1:31:50 virtual reboot. Tease the virtual 1:31:52 reboot. I don't know what that means, 1:31:54 Brandon. 1:31:56 >> Oh, the virtual reboot. Oh, so yes. 1:31:58 Okay. 1:31:58 >> Oh, yes. Oh, so Ann, yes, Brandon, you 1:32:04 tee that up. Go and go. 1:32:06 >> Thanks, Brandon. So, so here's what's 1:32:09 really cool is if you missed the create 1:32:12 conference in person, which most people 1:32:15 had to because life is lifing, we are 1:32:19 doing a a 1:32:22 full reboot of the whole all of the 1:32:24 presenters are coming back and we're 1:32:27 doing a virtual experience. 1:32:30 Everyone will be on the conference app. 1:32:33 So, everyone who registers will be on 1:32:35 the conference app just like we were 1:32:36 when we were in Salt Lake City. There's 1:32:39 a leaderboard, there's photos, there's, 1:32:42 you know, meetups, you can make all the 1:32:45 friends, all the things, and you'll get 1:32:49 the recording. And so, if you, if you 1:32:51 went, you already have a free ticket. 1:32:54 Um, I think it's $79. We're going to 1:32:56 post it in a couple of We're going to 1:32:57 post the sign up in a couple of days. 1:33:00 all the content. We're just going to 1:33:02 rinse and repeat it and it'll be even 1:33:03 better. 1:33:04 >> Great. Yeah, because they've they've 1:33:06 practiced it. 1:33:09 >> Although, who was it? Was it Was it 1:33:11 Daisy? Yeah, it was Daisy. I You know, I 1:33:14 said I said, "Daisy, I heard you killed 1:33:15 it and you're going to do it again." She 1:33:16 goes, "Yeah, but you know me. I never 1:33:18 write anything down, so it's going to be 1:33:19 completely new. 1:33:20 >> It's gonna be brand new again." Yeah. 1:33:22 >> Yeah. 1:33:23 >> Yeah. No, that's that's really amazing. 1:33:24 It's I mean I think it's a silver lining 1:33:26 of of you know people not feeling like 1:33:29 they could come to it is that is that 1:33:31 you're going to capture it in that way. 1:33:33 >> Exactly. I'm I'm super excited about it 1:33:36 and we know you know we do we throw a 1:33:39 good party whether it's in real in 1:33:41 person or online. So it's going to be 1:33:44 good. Thanks producer Brandon for 1:33:45 reminding me about that. 1:33:46 >> Yeah that was really good. Beautiful. 1:33:48 >> I had my um they call it event event 1:33:52 postpartum. I had my postpartum 1:33:55 rotting in bed day today. Just like 1:33:58 >> you deserve it. You deserve it. Well, 1:34:00 it's funny because like, you know, I 1:34:02 knew this was coming up and you just 1:34:03 went you went radio silent for like 1:34:05 three weeks before. You just you just, 1:34:08 you know, down in it, right? Because 1:34:11 >> you got an event coming up. That's where 1:34:12 you got to go. 1:34:13 >> It was I've never focused on one thing 1:34:17 so intently in my life. 1:34:20 >> Right. 1:34:20 >> It was worth it. worth every second and 1:34:23 then some. Yeah. 1:34:25 >> Awesome, man. Well, thanks for 1:34:26 >> All right, I'm gonna join the audience. 1:34:28 >> All right, cool. Peace out. 1:34:29 >> Talk to you later. Tab. 1:35:36 All right. So, I'm in Suno now. So, 1:35:39 we've got we've got our prompt. So, how 1:35:44 do I do this? So, how I'm going to do 1:35:45 this is I'm going to go add audio, 1:35:47 upload, 1:35:51 and then I'm going to grab the song. 1:35:55 Or am I? Maybe I'm not because it's not 1:35:58 the right format, is it? 1:36:02 No. Uh, 1:36:05 let's see. 1:36:13 How do I do a new a new thing? 1:36:20 Trash. Here we go. So, 1:37:30 so we've got let's So, let's do a cover 1:37:34 of this. 1:37:37 And then we're going to go grab 1:37:42 No, not that. 1:37:45 We're going to go grab this 1:37:51 prompt. 1:37:58 All right. Sitting by you. I feel the 1:38:00 heat. Can you feel it, too? Sitting too 1:38:01 far takes me away from where you are. 1:38:03 It's time to go. I got to leave now. 1:38:05 Enjoy the show. Okay. So, there's all my 1:38:07 lyrics. 1:38:09 Okay. Um, 1:38:12 and now I need style. So, we're going to 1:38:14 go paste. And then we're going to do um 1:38:18 simple drum kit 1:38:22 and stand up bass layer in as 1:38:28 intensity builds. 1:38:32 And I think that's it. Advanced options. 1:38:36 I'm just going to leave those be. We're 1:38:38 going to go create. 1:38:40 All right. All right, people. 1:38:44 We might end up with a full song here 1:38:48 and hopefully we get some decent um 1:38:53 you know harmonies and things like that. 1:38:58 [Music] 1:39:09 [Applause] 1:39:12 [Music] 1:39:17 Standing between 1:39:20 you and a hard place is insane. 1:39:23 [Music] 1:39:24 [Applause] 1:39:26 Standing too near 1:39:29 you in a fire makes it clear 1:39:35 your trouble to me. 1:39:41 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:39:47 Leaning in close, 1:39:50 smelling your perfume scares me most. 1:39:56 Leaning away, 1:39:59 it feels stronger every day. 1:40:05 You're trouble to me. 1:40:11 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:40:17 Sitting by you, 1:40:20 I feel the heat. Can you feel it, too? 1:40:26 Sitting too far 1:40:29 takes me away from where you are. 1:40:33 [Music] 1:40:35 You're trouble to me. 1:40:41 Real trouble. Can't you see 1:40:47 it's time to go? 1:40:50 I got to leave now. Enjoy. 1:40:52 >> All right, that one's pretty cool. All 1:40:53 right, let's listen to this one. 1:40:57 I want to have a I think 1:41:01 [Music] 1:41:05 Standing between 1:41:08 you and a hard place is insane. 1:41:13 >> The other one was better. All right, 1:41:15 let's change the prompt a little bit. 1:41:17 Let's see. Um, 1:41:20 I'm going to go America Americana 1:41:25 rock 1:41:28 with clean 1:41:32 electric 1:41:36 guitars. 1:41:43 four-part harmony, 1:41:45 12 string acoustic 1:41:50 guitars. We'll get rid of that. 1:41:56 Let's go. Um, 1:41:59 what's it called? Yeah, cello. 1:42:02 Um, cello. 1:42:06 Um, or 1:42:09 fiddle. 1:42:11 Um, 1:42:13 cello 1:42:15 and fiddle 1:42:19 layer in as 1:42:22 tension builds. Um, thanks for the kind 1:42:25 words. Yeah, this this is a song whoever 1:42:27 said I would pay for that single. Great. 1:42:29 Yeah, I'll once I get to a version of 1:42:31 this I like, I'll I'll put it up 1:42:33 somewhere. I'll I'll uh I'll get it out 1:42:35 there. We'll put it on uh we'll put it 1:42:37 on the AI salon is what we'll do. 1:42:41 All right, let's try another one. 1:42:48 That last one wasn't bad. I I mean, it 1:42:50 was building in a nice subtle way and I 1:42:51 could have waited till the end, but you 1:42:53 know, I'm cognizant that it's late. It's 1:42:56 getting late for people. You know, 1:42:59 you're all older. 1:43:01 You're probably taking medications about 1:43:03 now for incontinence and things like 1:43:05 that. So, you know how that goes. All 1:43:08 right. 1:43:13 [Music] 1:43:21 Standing between 1:43:24 you and a hard place is insane. 1:43:28 [Music] 1:43:30 Standing too near 1:43:33 you and a file. Makes it clear 1:43:39 your trouble to me. 1:43:42 [Music] 1:43:45 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:43:48 [Music] 1:43:51 Leaning in close, 1:43:54 smelling your perfume scares me most. 1:44:00 leaning away. 1:44:03 It feels stronger every day. 1:44:09 You're trouble to me. 1:44:15 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:44:20 Sitting by you, 1:44:23 I feel the heat. Can you feel it, too? 1:44:29 Sitting too far 1:44:32 takes me away from where you are. 1:44:38 You're trouble to me. 1:44:44 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:44:47 >> All right, that was kind of cool. It was 1:44:48 a little little little 1:44:51 backwoodsy for me, but let's let's see 1:44:55 what we get here with this. I changed up 1:44:57 the prompt a little. I put Americana, 1:45:00 four-part harmonies, 12 string acoustic 1:45:02 guitar, rhythm section, cello, and 1:45:06 fiddle layer. So that's that's this one. 1:45:09 [Music] 1:45:24 Standing between 1:45:26 you and a hard place is insane. 1:45:30 [Music] 1:45:32 Standing too near 1:45:35 you and a fire makes it clear. 1:45:39 >> Nice harmonies. That's what I'm looking 1:45:41 for. You're trouble to me. 1:45:47 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:45:53 >> Leaning in close. 1:45:55 >> Hey, 1:45:56 >> smelling your perfume scares me most. 1:46:02 Leaning away 1:46:05 feels stronger every day. 1:46:09 [Music] 1:46:11 You're trouble to me. 1:46:15 [Music] 1:46:17 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:46:23 Sitting by you. 1:46:26 >> I feel the heat. Can you feel it, too? 1:46:32 Sitting too far. 1:46:35 Takes me away from where you are. 1:46:40 [Music] 1:46:41 You're trouble to me. 1:46:47 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:46:51 [Music] 1:47:10 It's time to go. 1:47:13 I got to leave now. Enjoy the show. 1:47:19 It's time for you 1:47:22 to say goodbye. Yeah, I'll miss you, 1:47:24 too. 1:47:28 You're a true to me. 1:47:34 Real trouble. Can't you see 1:47:39 [Music] 1:47:46 this? 1:47:47 [Music] 1:48:01 [Applause] 1:48:02 [Music] 1:48:05 Now that you're gone, 1:48:08 all is supposed to be more fun. 1:48:14 Now that you left home, 1:48:17 all I feel is escaping a risk. 1:48:22 [Music] 1:48:23 You're a trouble to me. 1:48:29 Real trouble. Can't you see 1:48:35 your trouble? Don't you know 1:48:41 trouble? Where did you go? 1:48:44 [Music] 1:48:47 >> All right, that one's cool. Um, dang. 1:48:49 Who needs a real studio when you have 1:48:51 this? Amazing. Yeah, it's, you know, 1:48:53 it's funny like I've been playing with 1:48:56 Suna. I mean, I've written a whole 1:48:58 [ __ ] musical, right, using these 1:49:00 tools, and it like it's just now 1:49:05 striking me like I can take any old song 1:49:09 I have, any fragment of a song I have, 1:49:12 and turn it into something. It's 1:49:13 amazing. Um, I added Bode Bass. That was 1:49:16 a good uh suggestion. Let's let's uh 1:49:19 let's go listen to a couple of more of 1:49:21 these. 1:49:23 [Music] 1:49:34 Happy road. 1:49:37 >> Standing between 1:49:40 you and a hard place is insane. 1:49:44 [Music] 1:49:46 Standing to near 1:49:49 you in a fire makes it clear 1:49:55 your trouble to me. 1:50:01 Real trouble. New York City 1:50:38 hardcore. 1:50:40 I'm going to keep in fourpart harmonies. 1:50:42 I'm going to say just acoustic guitar 1:50:50 bode bass. 1:50:53 I'm just going to say 1:50:56 um 1:50:57 fretless bass 1:51:04 electric violin. 1:51:20 We're gonna try a completely different 1:51:22 genre here. I'm going 1990s CBGBs. 1:51:28 [Music] 1:51:34 >> You know, is 1:51:36 not 1:51:37 >> standing between 1:51:41 Oh, 1:51:41 >> that was Americana. Hang on. All right, let's try 1:53:30 this. 1:53:38 You can tell it three male and two 1:53:40 female. Oh, can you? That's cool. This 1:53:43 session pairs well with my bag of Dave 1:53:47 chocolates. 1:53:52 Just snarfing down chocolates. Listening 1:53:56 listening to a song nearly there. 1:54:00 [Music] 1:54:16 Standing between 1:54:19 you and a hard place is insane. 1:54:22 [Music] 1:54:25 standing too near. 1:54:28 You and a fire makes it clear. 1:54:34 Your trouble to me. 1:54:38 [Music] 1:54:40 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:56:34 [Music] 1:56:37 >> All right, we'll listen to two more and 1:56:39 then I'm going to I'm going to get out 1:56:40 of here. I don't know that I'm going to 1:56:41 get there tonight, but we're in the 1:56:43 we're in the neighborhood. 1:56:58 [Music] 1:57:03 >> Standing between 1:57:06 you and a hard place is insane. 1:57:12 Standing too near 1:57:15 you in a fire makes it clear. 1:57:19 [Music] 1:57:22 You're trouble to me. 1:57:28 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:57:33 Leaning in close, 1:57:36 smelling your perfume scares me most. 1:57:42 Leaning away, 1:57:45 it feels stronger every day. 1:57:49 [Music] 1:57:52 Your trouble to me. 1:57:58 Real trouble. Can't you see? 1:58:01 [Music] 1:58:03 Sitting by you, 1:58:06 I feel the heat. Can you feel it, too? 1:58:12 Sitting too far 1:58:15 takes me away from where you are. 1:58:21 You're 1:58:23 me. 1:58:27 All right. Yeah, that's very John Luke 1:58:28 Ponty. I I think the Americana, the 1:58:31 country ones suited suit the song. 1:58:37 >> Oh, I know. Like really quickly, just 1:58:40 throw out a couple of suggestions of 1:58:42 genre that's completely different. 1:58:46 [Music] 1:58:58 It's totally Jeanluke Ponty. That's 1:59:00 really funny. Um, techno rap. That 1:59:04 sounds like an awful idea. Let's do it. 1:59:07 Techno rap. All right. Just techno rap. 1:59:09 That's it. That's all you get. Boom. All 1:59:11 right. There's two of those. Irish. 1:59:14 Irish jig. 1:59:16 Irish jig. That's sort of what that 1:59:19 sounded like. But that was the John Luke 1:59:21 Ponty version of the Irish jig. All 1:59:23 right. We'll do two of those. And then 1:59:25 uh progra Latin ska. Okay, this is good. 1:59:28 Latin ska. This is good. This is this is 1:59:33 this is co-creation with the AI learning 1:59:35 lab. Um regaton. Okay, good. This is 1:59:39 good. 1:59:40 Regaton. 1:59:43 Beautiful. All right, one more. 1:59:46 Afroopop. Beautiful. Okay, no more. 1:59:48 That's it. Done. 1:59:51 Um, afro pop. 1:59:55 Just nice nice simple two-word things. 1:59:58 And I have a feeling these are going to 2:00:00 be cool. All right, here's techno rap. 2:00:06 [Music] 2:00:15 Standing between 2:00:18 you and a hard place is insane. 2:00:24 Standing too near. 2:00:27 You and the fire makes it clear. 2:00:33 Your trouble to me. 2:00:36 [Music] 2:00:39 Real trouble. Can't you see? 2:00:44 Leaning in close, 2:00:47 smelling your perfume scares me most. 2:00:51 [Music] 2:00:53 Leaning away. 2:00:56 It feels stronger every day. 2:01:02 >> All right, that was cool. Uh that's 2:01:04 that's techno rap. 2:01:09 Oh yeah, also take the 2:01:18 [Music] 2:01:31 standing between 2:01:34 you and a hard place is insane. 2:01:38 [Music] 2:01:40 Yeah, it's Yeah, this does. You're 2:01:41 right, Mimi. This has got the the bones 2:01:44 of this are really good. This is a This 2:01:46 is a a genredefying song. I think 2:01:52 this is This is producer Brandon's Irish 2:01:56 gig jig. 2:01:57 [Music] 2:02:14 standing between 2:02:17 you and a hard place. That sounds like 2:02:20 arena pop. 2:02:22 [Music] 2:02:31 Is this the first song I've written? No. 2:02:35 [Music] 2:02:36 Standing between 2:02:39 you and a hard place is insane. 2:02:44 It's time for you. 2:02:46 You see 2:02:50 sitting by you. 2:02:53 I feel the heat. Can you feel it too? 2:02:58 [Applause] 2:02:59 Sitting too far 2:03:02 takes me away from where you are. 2:03:06 [Music] 2:03:08 All right, that one's kind of cool. 2:03:09 Irish jig worked. Here's Latin SCA. 2:03:17 See, I got to I've got to muck with the 2:03:19 the custom adjustments. If if we want 2:03:22 the influence of the style to be higher 2:03:24 than the song, I've got to muck with the 2:03:26 That's why these are all 2:03:31 standing. 2:03:33 >> That's not really letting Scott. 2:03:36 [Music] 2:03:44 Standing between 2:03:47 you and a hard place is insane. 2:03:53 standing so near 2:03:56 you in a fire makes it clear. 2:04:01 >> I love her. This one 2:04:03 >> you're trouble to me 2:04:08 real trouble. Can't you see? 2:04:12 [Music] 2:04:14 Leaning in close, 2:04:17 smelling your perfume scares me most. 2:04:22 >> There's a little bit of shakers in 2:04:24 there. A little bit of Latin shakers. 2:04:26 >> Leaning away. 2:04:28 It feels stronger. 2:04:33 [Music] 2:04:35 You're trouble to me. 2:04:38 [Music] 2:04:41 Real trouble. Can't you see? 2:04:46 >> Sitting by you. 2:04:49 I feel the heat. 2:04:52 >> I like that that it it went to the 2:04:54 woman. 2:04:57 >> Sitting so far 2:05:00 takes me away from where you are. 2:05:05 >> Yeah, this one. Yeah, style needs to 2:05:06 increase on this one a lot for sure. Um, 2:05:09 okay. LA last last four. I know I've 2:05:12 said that before, but this is regaton. 2:05:15 And I don't think any of these are going 2:05:16 to sound like their styles just cuz I 2:05:18 have these are at the default settings. 2:05:20 So maybe Monday we'll come back to this 2:05:22 and and we'll spend some real time 2:05:24 trying to make this good. 2:05:30 [Music] 2:05:34 I like 2:05:37 [Music] 2:05:42 >> you in a heart place is insane. 2:05:48 Standing near 2:05:51 you and fire makes it clear 2:05:57 your trouble to me. 2:06:00 [Music] 2:06:03 Real trouble, can't you see? 2:06:06 >> Wow. 2:06:09 >> Leaning in close, 2:06:12 smelling your perfume scares me most. 2:06:18 Leaning away, 2:06:21 it feels stronger every day. 2:06:27 Your trouble to me. 2:06:30 [Music] 2:06:33 Real trouble. Can't you see? 2:06:38 Sitting by you. 2:06:42 Can you feel it? 2:06:45 >> This one's reatron. 2:06:49 >> Regon. Regaton. Little too far 2:06:53 takes me away from where you are. 2:06:58 [Music] 2:06:59 You're trouble to me. 2:07:05 Real trouble. 2:07:10 >> Yeah, it's not really, but it's it's 2:07:11 different. All right, here's here's the 2:07:13 other regaton one 2:07:17 like 2:07:19 that. 2:07:27 Standing between 2:07:30 you and the hard places is insane. 2:07:37 Standing too near 2:07:40 you in the fire makes it clear 2:07:46 your trouble to me. 2:07:52 real. 2:07:54 [Music] 2:07:56 Huh. 2:07:56 >> Fascinating. This fascinating. 2:08:00 You know what's wild? Like this is a 2:08:01 song that I I wrote long enough ago and 2:08:04 I've played enough times that I kind of 2:08:05 have it in my just like in my brain and 2:08:10 just hearing it 2:08:14 just it's still the same song, you know. 2:08:18 I'll tell you if you've been watching me 2:08:20 for a while. So, the thing that got me 2:08:22 into AI was image generation. And my 2:08:25 first project was an art project called 2:08:27 Kyle Shannon Dreams where I did these 2:08:30 image self-portraits of myself that were 2:08:32 these kind of weird twisted things that 2:08:33 I wrote stories for. 2:08:36 And why I started that project was like 2:08:38 I saw a picture of myself, but it it was 2:08:41 not me. It was like some other version 2:08:42 of me from a different universe, like a 2:08:44 parallel universe. And so it was like me 2:08:46 but not me. And that's what this is 2:08:48 like. It's it's a this is a very 2:08:50 parallel experience where like this is 2:08:52 completely familiar but these are 2:08:54 completely different than what I what I 2:08:56 wrote but it's the same thing I wrote. 2:08:57 It's bizarre. 2:09:01 This is after 2:09:06 [Music] 2:09:11 standing between 2:09:14 you and a hard place is insane. 2:09:17 [Music] 2:09:20 standing too near 2:09:23 you and a fire. Makes it clear 2:09:29 your trouble to me. 2:09:32 [Music] 2:09:35 Real trouble. Can't you see 2:09:40 leaning in close 2:09:43 smelling your perfume scares me? 2:09:47 >> That's fascinating. What's up, Rachel 2:09:49 Woods? How you doing? Good to see you. 2:09:51 All right, let me see one one more here 2:09:53 and then I'm going to get the hell out 2:09:54 of dodge. 2:09:56 [Music] 2:10:05 >> Man, I don't like that one. All right, 2:10:06 let's go back to some of the Americana 2:10:08 stuff. 2:10:10 Which one was it? Was it this one? 2:10:15 [Music] 2:10:26 Standing between 2:10:29 you and a hard place is insane. 2:10:32 [Music] 2:10:35 Standing too near 2:10:38 you and a file. Makes it clear. 2:10:44 You're trouble to me. 2:10:47 [Music] 2:10:50 Real trouble. Can't you see? 2:10:53 [Music] 2:10:56 Leaning in close, 2:10:59 smelling your perfume scares me most. 2:11:05 It's time to go. 2:11:08 I got to leave now. Enjoy the show. 2:11:14 It's time for you 2:11:17 to say goodbye. 2:11:19 >> And you know what's amazing? I mean, now 2:11:21 that we can split these songs into 2:11:23 stems, like if there's if there's a bad 2:11:26 baseline in it or if there's a weird 2:11:28 guitar part, you can split it into 2:11:30 stems, fix those broken things, or just 2:11:33 take them out entirely. 2:11:35 Change the vocals. 2:11:38 Yeah, this is wild. This is wild. This 2:11:40 is cool. All right, let's get out of 2:11:41 here. Let's get out of here, good 2:11:43 people. Fantastic. Bob, tell him what 2:11:46 he's won. This would hold up in country 2:11:49 pop for sure. Sounds like the outro to 2:11:52 the show Renegade with Lorenzo Llama. So 2:11:55 that's interesting. Weekend homework. 2:11:58 Go make a you know what? Go make a song. 2:12:02 Especially here here's here's my request 2:12:04 to you. 2:12:06 Especially this is something it's going 2:12:09 to become a new part of our practice. 2:12:11 I'm going to start shifting gears over 2:12:15 in the AI mastermind and I'm going to 2:12:17 start shifting gears here a bit as well. 2:12:19 We're going to start shifting to from AI 2:12:22 tools to AI as a practice. 2:12:25 And one of the things that I think is an 2:12:27 important practice with AI is to fill in 2:12:31 your gaps. 2:12:33 So, especially if you're not musical, 2:12:36 especially if you've ever told yourself, 2:12:37 "I can't do music." I want you to make a 2:12:41 song this weekend. I don't give a [ __ ] 2:12:44 if you have Chat GBT write the lyrics or 2:12:46 you write the lyrics. I don't care if 2:12:48 you hum into Sunno or just tell Sunno to 2:12:50 make a song and and you make 50 songs 2:12:52 and you pick the best one. 2:12:55 But especially if you're not musical, I 2:12:59 want you to make a song this weekend. 2:13:00 And then if you are musical, then I want 2:13:04 you to pick something that you know 2:13:06 you're not good at. You know you're not 2:13:09 good at coding. You know you're not good 2:13:10 at writing. And I want you to go do that 2:13:14 thing that you're not good at. So the 2:13:16 homework for this weekend is 2:13:20 choose one of your gaps. We all know our 2:13:23 gaps, right? I've got thousands of them. 2:13:27 Pick a gap, any gap, and fill it with 2:13:30 AI. Go do something that you know you 2:13:33 can't do. And then come back next week 2:13:35 and tell me what you did because I bet 2:13:37 it'll blow your mind. All right. Oh, I 2:13:40 like this shift. Out of the old comfort 2:13:42 zone, huh? Exactly. Out of the old 2:13:45 comfort zone. 2:13:48 Out of the old comfort zone. Now, 2:13:49 tomorrow, speaking of comfort zone, if 2:13:52 you're all like, I'm really good with 2:13:54 creative, so I I'm just gonna do a song 2:13:56 anyway, and I'm gonna feel good about 2:13:57 myself. No. 2:13:59 Tomorrow there's an LOL, a learn out 2:14:02 loud hosted by Kelly Camp. Um, so go to 2:14:06 the AI salon. So if you're not part of 2:14:07 the AI salon, go to thesalon.ai 2:14:11 and um, click on our events calendar. 2:14:14 It's right at the top and you'll see it. 2:14:15 It's at 400 p.m. Eastern tomorrow, 2:14:18 Saturday. And she's teaching about 2:14:20 connectors in ChatGpt. 2:14:23 She's teaching how she connected her 2:14:26 notion app and her Google drive and her 2:14:29 Gmail into chat GPT. So she can be 2:14:32 inside chat GPT and say, "Hey, you know 2:14:35 the thing I put into notion couple of 2:14:39 weeks ago that mentioned this client 2:14:42 and it'll just go find it. Yep, I've got 2:14:44 it. What do you want to know about it?" 2:14:46 So she's going to teach us how to do 2:14:48 that tomorrow. So, um, come to that and 2:14:51 then make something out of your comfort 2:14:53 zone. But, but, you know, if you're not 2:14:55 musical, go make some music in Sunno if 2:14:56 you haven't done it before. Sunno, Udo, 2:14:59 Producer AI, 2:15:01 or uh, 11 Labs all have music generation 2:15:05 tools now. They're all really good. All 2:15:07 right, 2:15:09 G. 2:15:13 Um, I'm out of here. Have a fantastic 2:15:16 weekend, everyone. Hope you had fun 2:15:18 tonight. I know it got started a little 2:15:20 weird, but you know, we got somewhere. 2:15:21 All right, peace out. See you. Bye.
