Description

On September 12, 2023 I covered the rapid advances in AI like video translation tools and unrestricted text generators. While many fear an AI apocalypse, I see more potential for personal reinvention. Anyone can tap into these tools today to remix what they know into new creations and careers. The key is staying curious, not cynical. Engage with care to guide these technologies towards good. Don't wait - now is the time to reinvent. Relevant hashtags: #AILearningLab #AI #emergingtech 00:37 - Why be scared of AI when we could reinvent ourselves? 11:19 - AI allows the disabled to tap superpowers 17:36 - AI translation tech is getting shockingly good 27:05 - AI can help redistribute prosperity 43:51 - AI art tools still struggle with text 58:59 - The value of AI watermarking is overblown 1:14:14 - I won't dwell on dangers of AI, stay positive

1:23 or Crawford Crawford I get it Crawford
1:29 craw for duh Crawford
1:33 yeah that that Italian video is nuts if
1:35 you don't know what he's talking about
1:39 uh about modular content and AI so let
1:42 me dig into what's going on
1:54 that's me speaking Italian fluently
1:59 I can't speak Italian at all I I can't
2:03 speak Italian
2:04 rudimentarily much less fluently
2:13 man every time thank you mad cap thank
2:17 you thank you thank you
2:22 hello Irregulars Tobias back in the
2:25 house
2:26 thank you for coming to the salon
2:27 tonight Tobias hope you enjoyed
2:30 hope you enjoyed I'm so afraid to ask
2:32 questions that you answer all the time
2:35 you hear about this video Translate
2:38 well you can a
2:40 [ __ ] ask questions
2:43 like
2:44 like
2:45 just because I may have been asked
2:48 questions before
2:49 hey I don't get tired of it because
2:51 everyone's trying to figure this [ __ ]
2:53 out and yeah this video translating this
2:56 one
3:07 are the lips synced up too yeah
3:14 transcription
3:22 I've never said storyline like I started
3:26 vine but I will now
3:28 that's [ __ ] sexy
3:31 hello my name is Kyle Shannon I'm the
3:33 CEO of study van
3:35 [Laughter]
3:38 yeah that stuff's Wild by the way if
3:41 you're wondering well what the hell is
3:43 that what the hell is this channel who
3:45 are you what are your qualifications sir
3:47 sir sir sir I need to see your papers
3:50 what are your qualifications you claim
3:52 to be an AI learning lab you are
3:54 learning AI are you teaching are you
3:57 learning what are you doing what are
3:59 your qualifications sir
4:02 are you a mathematician or are you not
4:06 indeed I am not
4:10 so what are my qualifications I have
4:12 none that's why we're here welcome to
4:16 Fantasy Island Buzz is the plane
4:21 uh
4:23 it's crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy crazy
4:25 crazy crazy oh by the way
4:29 it's I'm starting a little bit late I
4:31 had a couple of uh old-fashioned as well
4:34 so I ordered one old fashioned after the
4:36 salon tonight I ordered one old
4:38 fashioned in this clueless bartender
4:42 didn't know what whiskey was
4:46 and then he makes me an old-fashioned
4:48 and I take a first Sip and he made a
4:50 [ __ ] old-fashioned with Fireball so I
4:52 had a cinnamon old fashioned which was
4:55 actually pretty [ __ ] good
4:57 and then I went back I said uh not for
5:00 nothing but you know you made an
5:01 old-fashioned with Fireball not this
5:03 shitty whiskey you were trying to sell
5:05 me
5:06 no I'll make you another one so I had
5:08 two drinks
5:09 um
5:10 so anyway my name is Kyle Shannon I am
5:13 an entrepreneur I'm a co-founder of a
5:16 company called eStore Divine uh and and
5:20 I do not speak fluent Italian that
5:22 example that I just showed of me
5:24 speaking Italian from what was from a
5:26 tool called hey Jen
5:28 h-e-y-g-e-n.com
5:32 and you click on the labs button in the
5:35 lower left hand corner and then choose
5:37 the video translate option you get two
5:39 credits for free
5:42 and upload something of yourself talking
5:45 for like five minutes and pick a
5:47 language and just sit back and just
5:49 watch your jaw [ __ ] hit the floor
5:52 it's like good Lord
5:56 um this is the AI learning lab we like
5:57 talking about AI stuff here well I do I
5:59 do a lot of the talking but uh you can
6:02 ask questions down below I'll do my best
6:04 to answer them uh and and and do all
6:06 that sort of stuff
6:08 um also if you're trying to figure out
6:10 where the hell to start with this stuff
6:13 um just start right there that's
6:16 chat.openai.com that's chatgpt
6:19 people been talking about chat jpk I
6:22 don't know what this chat CTP thing is
6:27 TT
6:33 that thing that's that thing if you have
6:36 not played with it go there right now
6:38 and and just go just go get thee to a
6:41 nunnery
6:42 hither thee hence
6:45 and then if you don't know what to say
6:47 to it go to that thing prompts.chat
6:50 that's that'll give you some
6:51 instructions on how to talk to these
6:52 things and I'll give you some prompts
6:54 you can copy and paste it's pretty cool
6:56 it's very basic but it it gets it'll get
6:59 you started
7:00 um and and we'll just hang out here for
7:03 a bit
7:04 I'll talk some [ __ ] I'll make funny
7:05 voices I'll probably cuss a little like
7:08 damn it damn it Jane
7:12 am I on a tick tock is this thing on
7:14 Jane is this thing on chain
7:18 hey do you know how to use the tick tock
7:20 Jane Jane I'm trying to go on a tick
7:22 tock how do I know if I'm on the tick
7:24 tock
7:26 right
7:28 so I might do that I might do that and
7:30 then why do I do that
7:32 because one of my great joys in life
7:35 is knowing that somewhere someone in the
7:38 world is flicking through Tick Tock and
7:40 and they see Jane is it is tick tock on
7:45 is anybody seeing this hello
7:50 they gotta stop right you would think
7:52 you would think at some point someone
7:53 would go oh that's unfortunate
7:56 that's an unfortunate human being why
8:00 why'd they put themselves on the
8:01 internet
8:04 oh
8:06 oh I Missed The Talk cast last night
8:08 what did I miss
8:10 I don't know I am functionally
8:13 unconscious when I do these things I
8:15 don't remember [ __ ] it's all spontaneous
8:17 so
8:19 um
8:21 we talked about stuff
8:23 uh
8:26 what do we talk about
8:28 uh I don't know stuff nonsense I think I
8:32 definitely talked about the translation
8:34 [ __ ] because that I'm just blown away by
8:36 it
8:38 what are your thoughts on it affecting
8:40 political elections well I think that we
8:43 are in for I think that if you think the
8:46 misinformation in 2016 and 2020 was bad
8:50 hahaha
8:57 two days before the election what do you
9:00 mean there's a video of him French
9:01 kissing a gorilla at the Cleveland Zoo
9:07 it's gonna happen
9:09 there's going to be a lot of
9:10 misinformation that's going to get
9:12 increasingly sophisticated it's going to
9:14 get increasingly hard to
9:17 determine fact from reality but we've
9:19 already given up on facts like we've
9:21 already flushed them down the toilets we
9:22 we have now successfully allowed the
9:25 politicians to manipulate us into
9:28 fighting each other so they could just
9:29 go grift all our money so we're the
9:32 dummies in this situation and and you
9:34 know so they're going to continue to
9:36 shove crap down our throat that makes us
9:38 more and more pissed off so
9:41 um part of what I try to preach on this
9:43 channel is what if we didn't suck to
9:45 each other what if we were just a little
9:47 empathetic
9:48 a little warm a little curious but if we
9:50 were curious and empathetic and thought
9:53 hey this AI stuff
9:55 maybe I should go learn
9:57 what this stuff is and why it is and how
10:00 it is and rather than just believing the
10:02 robots are going to kill us maybe I go
10:04 look at it maybe I get a little curious
10:06 and then you go
10:08 well can it do this yeah it can do that
10:12 oh okay that's interesting that's very
10:14 clever
10:15 could I write a song I bet it can't
10:17 write a song
10:19 oh it writes the song but it doesn't
10:22 know chords right oh it knows chords too
10:25 oh well wow
10:28 but it can't do what I do I know that
10:30 for at least because I've been doing
10:32 this for 30 years this this is very rare
10:37 well let me see if it can do what I do
10:40 good Lord oh what do I do
10:49 you [ __ ] profound maybe instead of
10:51 being an [ __ ] to my neighbor we
10:53 should like talk about what's this gonna
10:55 do
10:56 do you know anything about this uh I'm a
10:59 little freaked out by it oh yeah I'm a
11:01 little freaked out by it too wait a
11:03 minute do we have common ground aren't
11:04 we supposed to hate each other well we
11:06 are
11:07 didn't you see that politician French
11:09 kissing a gorilla he's your guy oh yeah
11:12 I think that was fake I don't think that
11:14 was fake whatever should we go play with
11:16 this
11:17 what if we did that
11:20 that would be more fun wouldn't it than
11:21 smashing people's windows in at stop
11:23 lights because they drove a truck
11:27 I mean I don't know
11:33 I mean you ruined how I say chat GPT in
11:35 my head so why not Italian anymore
11:38 I don't know what you mean Crawford
11:44 I don't know what you're talking about
11:49 in your head
11:52 how do I salon so so we just have an AI
11:55 Salon tonight and
11:58 how you get to the salon if you go to
12:00 the salon.ai that's our website it's not
12:03 our website it's a link tree
12:05 and the first link is a link that
12:07 describes what it's about and what our
12:09 values are read those values because
12:12 I don't want douche bags in there it's
12:15 the whole idea with the salon is be
12:16 curious be adventurous
12:18 be empathetic be inclusive
12:22 explore right like have an open mind
12:25 come in be curious just be there
12:30 be a human being who's learning and
12:33 growing and scared as [ __ ] and as
12:36 excited as [ __ ] and all that
12:39 so read the values because if you don't
12:41 resonate with them then don't hang out
12:43 with us because that's who we want in
12:44 there and then the second link is a link
12:47 to our Meetup so we meet every other
12:48 week tonight was our meeting
12:51 and and then we have an online Discord
12:53 server and we've got a LinkedIn group
12:55 and all the links are there so just go
12:57 there and do that and it's [ __ ] it's
12:59 cool people it's cool people it's cool
13:01 people I'm I don't care what you say I
13:04 like them I like them well some of them
13:07 are relatively geeky
13:10 yes and then others have not even tried
13:12 AI oh well why are they in there
13:17 why do I talk like this
13:20 like Charles Nelson Reilly and I don't
13:24 know what's going on whatever
13:25 all right let's see ah Emilio's wife is
13:28 here shaken how are you tonight good to
13:30 see you
13:32 I'm trying to find where I was in my
13:35 hello from planet Earth Tanqueray Kush
13:39 double teaming the the gin and the in
13:42 the mirror Juwanna
13:44 Ted looks at life hello Kyle and her
13:46 regulars welcome black eight black eight
13:49 hello from Australia yo
13:52 I assume dude but could be a lady could
13:55 be a lady who knows
14:04 what's it called what's what called oh
14:08 the Italian thing
14:10 is
14:19 and then look so so you want to see the
14:21 so this I cut together
14:23 here I'll flip this for the last two or
14:25 three nights so if you've been here
14:26 before sorry I know you're sick of
14:29 wait why is Kyle in both windows
14:32 stop we've had enough make him go away
14:38 um so I cut together
14:40 English and Italian back-to-back I took
14:43 little chunks and put them back to back
14:44 and you know you can actually really see
14:47 how good it does and like the timing and
14:50 the it's just amazing so this is a this
14:52 is a technology called Hey gen video
14:54 Translate
14:57 I've heard from a number of clients that
14:58 modular content is important to them
15:00 getting more efficient with how we
15:01 create content and how we leverage
15:03 contents
15:11 behind me you see these little green
15:13 boxes um that's how we think about
15:15 stories at storyline we break stories
15:17 down into little atoms right little
15:19 modules
15:33 I mean holy crap right
15:36 lips are synced
15:38 it's me talking
15:40 follows my Cadence follows my emotional
15:43 whatever ups and downs arcs it's just
15:46 it's just stupid it's stupid
15:50 it's stupid I tell you I do not know
15:53 what to even think anymore I cannot
15:55 process anymore what I'm supposed to
15:58 think about what's going on on this God
16:00 forsaken Planet why does my
16:04 screen it's probably because it's dirty
16:06 because you know what I do all night
16:08 long I talk to you people and I touch my
16:10 screen and then my screen's got it's
16:13 like a seven-year-old put a peanut
16:15 butter and jelly sandwich on it oh thank
16:17 you for the hearty heart
16:18 oh oh uh posted so wait could we use hey
16:23 Jen to teach ourselves other languages
16:25 you know what's funny emilios I was
16:27 thinking about that exact thing because
16:29 in the in this video where I'm going
16:31 back and forth between
16:35 um
16:36 my my English and my Italian
16:40 um it's teaching me like the the
16:42 inflection like I started vine right I
16:46 mean that's how we capture the content
16:47 but because we have and that's how we
16:48 capture the content so that's the
16:50 beginning of that phrase um in this
16:52 organized structured way that approach
16:54 can be used for everything from how you
16:56 capture original content with
16:57 traditional video production to how you
16:59 leverage these assets to create social
17:02 media content things like that
17:06 um
17:09 but yeah I think you could absolutely do
17:12 that right and actually that that
17:14 wouldn't be a bad use of this tool
17:16 because you could you could
17:18 um
17:19 automatically
17:20 just upload a video of yourself talking
17:23 and then using their API
17:26 you could just say break it into natural
17:29 phrases short little phrases and go
17:31 English Italian English Italian English
17:34 Italian and then or no actually what you
17:36 would do is you would go English Italian
17:39 pause
17:42 English Italian pause and the pause
17:45 would be the length of the Italian
17:48 there you go done there just billion
17:52 dollar idea right there for you take it
17:54 that's the kind of value we serve up in
17:56 the AI learning lab you come in for the
17:59 comedy you end up with a billion dollar
18:01 idea and and you leave here thinking
18:06 right
18:07 it's amazing for nothing
18:10 nothing except for a gummy the cost of
18:12 one gummy Share Bear two gum three
18:15 gummies
18:16 for the cost of three gummies
18:18 you get a billion dollar idea
18:21 I think it's a good deal I think it's a
18:23 good deal
18:24 you know
18:27 well it's a small price to pay
18:29 one billion on this side three gummies
18:31 on this side
18:33 I think that's a deal
18:36 cousin O'Donnell I commend your drive I
18:39 know I'm uh
18:40 I said to my wife I'm like I'm gonna go
18:43 do a Ticky Tucker she's like aren't you
18:45 [ __ ] exhausted I'm like yeah
18:48 a little drunk
18:50 a lot exhausted
18:55 um the salon tonight was really good but
18:57 it was it was a bit of a heavy lift
18:58 because I thought we had people speaking
19:00 at the salon tonight and it turned out
19:02 they they all told me like at the last
19:04 minute oh no we're not going to be there
19:05 good luck it's like ah
19:10 so whatever whatever what are you gonna
19:13 do huh what are you gonna do you know
19:16 you want something done right you do it
19:18 yourself you know what I'm saying that's
19:21 what I'm saying
19:23 don't want it done right yeah do it
19:24 yourself
19:27 that's not like Burgess Meredith in
19:29 Rocky ah Rocky ah get out there
19:34 he's not getting mad he's getting angry
19:37 he's not getting beat he's getting angry
19:39 ah
19:44 um oh by the way
19:45 uh this channel is really just about me
19:48 entertaining myself so
19:50 in case that wasn't painfully evident
19:56 uh it's never a dull moment here at the
19:59 AI learning lab chat add
20:03 uh I missed top cast last night what are
20:05 your thoughts on affecting political
20:06 elections I already answered these
20:07 questions
20:09 um
20:10 tick tock's just randomly jumping me
20:13 around the dang things how do I disable
20:15 how to disable restrictions
20:19 so what's your name last belly Bender
20:25 um I'm gonna go
20:29 I go 8.5 out of 10 on the name I like it
20:32 last belly Bender the only reason you're
20:35 not higher
20:37 is it's hard to say belly Bender last
20:40 belly Bender there's I don't know
20:42 there's too many you got some diphthongs
20:44 in there [ __ ] it up but I like it
20:46 it's solid
20:48 um
20:49 AI learning lab have your name critiqued
20:52 as well as get your questions answered
20:54 what are you asking how do you disable
20:56 restrictions so I assume what less
20:59 bellybender is talking about is when you
21:01 ask Chachi BT say to
21:04 do something destructive to your
21:06 neighbor it's like uh I'm a large
21:08 language model and we don't condone
21:10 violence
21:12 and and I assume what you're saying is
21:14 you would like those restrictions not to
21:16 be there well there are things you can
21:19 do
21:20 you can go to
21:24 [Music]
21:27 labs.perplexity.com.ai
21:29 labs.perplexity.ai they're hosting metas
21:31 llama 2 models and the chat llama model
21:36 I don't know what the restrictions are
21:37 on those but those models are open
21:39 source so you can get the weights
21:42 the base models and you can go to do
21:45 whatever the hell you want with them
21:47 I also was sent in my comments today
21:54 [Music]
21:59 worm GPT
22:01 .com
22:07 yeah weren't uh was this it
22:10 yeah yeah worm wormgpt.com
22:16 this is an autonomous agent with no
22:19 restrictions
22:21 designed to do like really
22:24 nasty crap
22:27 you want to do nasty crap I guess you
22:29 can go there like why am i showing that
22:31 I don't know I I mean the stuff's out
22:34 there if you want to get unrestricted
22:36 models just go open source uh just go to
22:39 Reddit and type in open source llms
22:42 and just look at all the projects there
22:44 there's a ton of projects and I'm sure
22:46 there's a ton of projects jail broken
22:48 GPT
22:50 um
22:52 I don't necessarily know why you want to
22:54 do that but I don't really care I mean
22:56 you do you
22:58 think we should use the SE Technologies
22:59 for the good
23:01 but that's why I own white hats only
23:03 white hats only in this house
23:05 you know you're over there in black hat
23:07 territory you're at least brown or gray
23:10 or something you know what I mean you're
23:13 darker than white that's what I'm saying
23:14 all right good evening Vicky what's
23:18 happening you make this funny I try I'm
23:21 on the internet I'm on the internet
23:23 we're all on the internet welcome to the
23:26 internet I'm on the internet
23:29 um
23:30 Irregulars present Turtles and go go and
23:35 seen Turtles activate
23:39 is there a token currency for AI well as
23:43 a matter of fact funny you should
23:45 mention it
23:47 I don't like to brag but I do
23:50 I love to brag I love to brag wait let's
23:54 see where what I gotta get my green
23:56 screen hold please
23:58 it's gonna be so good when I finally get
24:00 there
24:05 down
24:06 [Music]
24:18 like Kyle
24:20 what is that what is this Mad World ID
24:25 you possess verified at orb
24:29 could it possibly be more sci-fi creepy
24:32 than verified at orb no is this an
24:36 actual
24:38 image of my personal Anonymous World ID
24:43 verified at orb yes it is so
24:48 um so this
24:50 is Sam Altman's company called World
24:53 coin
24:54 and part of world coin is a thing called
24:56 World ID which is a human verification
24:59 system
25:01 tokenized on the blockchain so I now
25:03 have an nft that basically says the
25:06 owner of this nft is a unique Anonymous
25:10 human
25:12 so it verifies that I'm a human and I'm
25:14 unique from all the other humans on this
25:16 system
25:17 and he's also got a cryptocurrency
25:19 called World coin and the whole idea of
25:23 this is to create a foundation for
25:25 Universal basic income
25:27 and a way to
25:30 take the excess profit that generative
25:33 AI is going to create massive Prosperity
25:36 so for the same amount of people working
25:38 Prosperity is going to go up and
25:41 probably reduce the need for as many
25:44 people to do that work so there's this
25:46 massive Gap
25:48 that's going to be created where the
25:50 private Equity guys are like more profit
25:52 for us
25:54 do I need a third yacht I think I do for
25:56 the Maldives
25:58 so that's what this is private Equity
26:01 guys are doing when they're looking at
26:02 this equation what Sam Altman is saying
26:05 is he turned his open AI into a capped
26:08 for-profit company
26:09 which basically any investor can only
26:12 make 100x on their return
26:14 he he believes that open AI is going to
26:17 generate significantly more than 100x
26:20 on the Investments and so he's going to
26:23 take the extra money that's generated
26:26 from the investment to the 100x and
26:29 whatever it ends up making and he's
26:31 going to funnel that all over to his
26:33 non-profit
26:35 and generate a universe Universal basic
26:38 income and a wealth redistribution
26:40 mechanism
26:42 um that that will be handled on this
26:45 network
26:46 um is it a real thing well it's a real
26:50 ID at this point there's a real
26:52 cryptocurrency and there's real
26:53 development tools to make all this but
26:56 no it's not real yet and will it be real
26:58 I don't [ __ ] know why did I do this
27:01 because I actually think this is
27:03 important I think the 2024 election is
27:05 going to prove to us
27:07 um
27:09 prove to us even more how destructive it
27:12 is not to have
27:13 human verified content and and um
27:17 unmolested content that that can be
27:20 blockchain verified so I I don't know
27:22 we'll see but so yes there is
27:25 it abs
27:29 abeg nail Abigail Abigail 24. Abigail
27:35 your name's hard to say it's so hard to
27:38 say
27:39 I can't say those syllables in a row
27:43 bye
27:50 God
27:52 World ID no more this at this this this
27:55 channel is already enough of an ad for
27:58 Sam Altman's companies
28:01 laughs
28:03 is there a link to the video you
28:05 featured in the salon of the disabled
28:08 man using AI in Ukraine
28:11 yes I'll put it in the AI Salon hang on
28:19 that's not well while we're here
28:23 good times here right back here live at
28:26 the waterfront village with my friend
28:28 the zombie Jonathan you're looking good
28:30 Jonathan just got an awesome face paint
28:32 job what do you think I like turtles all
28:36 right you're great zombie good times
28:39 here at the waterfront
28:41 I'm sorry that that was that wasn't what
28:43 we were looking for was it
28:46 um
28:49 select all copy okay so I'm going so if
28:53 you're over at the AI salon at the AI
28:55 salon
28:57 um where are we gonna put this I will
28:59 put this in general discussion
29:02 so at the AI Salon in general discussion
29:05 I'm gonna say
29:08 um the video from tonight
29:14 and there it is there you go so for
29:18 those of you that weren't in the salon
29:19 tonight
29:20 um we're doing a in the salon we're
29:23 doing an interview two-part or
29:25 multi-part article on this Ukrainian
29:29 developer named Anton
29:31 who's got severe uh cerebral palsy and
29:34 can't talk and you know severely
29:37 physically challenged and but taught
29:41 himself engineering and programming and
29:44 all this sort of stuff it was basically
29:45 like typing with one finger barely and
29:49 now using github's copilot it's helping
29:53 him do you know incredibly quick code
29:56 commenting the code documenting the code
30:00 um and it's a it's an 11 minute piece on
30:02 on his life and what he's doing with
30:06 coding and Ai and we showed it at the
30:07 salon tonight and talked about it I lost
30:09 my marbles at the salon I was talking
30:11 about it I was I was trying to like put
30:13 in context
30:15 when you see a story like this
30:18 it's it's
30:19 um
30:22 I think because AI is this technology
30:25 and it's kind of tied to sci-fi and
30:27 there's kind of this hangover from
30:29 the.com Bubble where over hype
30:32 technology people get really cynical
30:35 about it or they get really over hyped
30:37 about it and they're like oh yeah it's
30:38 going to be big and ai's going to be
30:39 good and
30:42 like all that sort of [ __ ] and and you
30:45 see a story like Anton's story and
30:47 you're like well [ __ ] this stuff is this
30:49 AI stuff is transformative at a very
30:52 human level right like an incredible
30:56 amount of people that have all sorts of
30:58 disabilities at all sorts of levels even
31:00 Leo was Leah tonight was talking about
31:03 being neurodivergent and how these tools
31:06 give her kind of a superpower I feel the
31:08 same way with with my ADD like it's
31:10 allowing me to be productive at a level
31:13 that I haven't ever been able to be in
31:16 my life and that's like a really minor
31:18 way but it's the the the impact of this
31:21 stuff is is profound and some of it is
31:24 like profoundly positive and then
31:27 there's this kind of overhang of the
31:28 robots are going to kill us and it's
31:30 just Tech Bros doing their thing and
31:32 they need so anyway
31:34 um so it was a it was a good
31:35 conversation
31:38 um and an inspiring film so there you go
31:40 write a sympathy card okay
31:43 write a sympathy card
31:45 about what did you hear about the Arabic
31:48 llm I have not that sounds like set up
31:52 to a joke for some reason me to Mid
31:54 Journey picture of him kissing a gorilla
31:57 exactly
31:59 exactly defense Tech I know that's
32:02 what's gonna happen like
32:04 people are just gonna go let's see which
32:06 politician don't I like this one all
32:09 right what's the worst possible
32:10 compromising position okay this one
32:13 what's the most embarrassing location
32:15 this one okay
32:16 should it be a red Corvette
32:19 Little Red Corvette yeah I think it
32:21 should be a red Corvette
32:24 and then that's just gonna end up on the
32:26 six o'clock news and we're all gonna be
32:29 like it's not real right
32:32 somebody just reached level something
32:34 on the old on the old tikitaki
32:36 congratulations thank you
32:39 all right let's see let's see Corel Draw
32:42 Photoshop video audio banana box band in
32:46 a box I I tried to make banana box work
32:48 for me
32:50 probably from 1990
32:53 one or two
32:57 until like I I bought upgraded banana
33:00 box licenses for like a decade
33:03 that interface never got better
33:06 it was always bad
33:10 it was just too complicated for me it's
33:13 Google the two voices are making me
33:16 mental please turn it down
33:19 they're making you mental what do you
33:21 think about me my voice uh I was
33:24 scrolling through Tick Tock and saw this
33:26 guy asking Jane if the tick tock was on
33:29 exactly he's fighty you're my you're my
33:32 case study of why I do this and why I
33:35 make the stupid voices Jane
33:38 Jane
33:40 Jane
33:41 are you watching The Price is Right
33:48 is this thing on
33:50 Jane is the tick tock on how do I know
33:53 when a tick tock's on Jane exactly
33:57 it's for you it's for people like you
33:59 flick flick flick wait what's this
34:01 that person seemed Disturbed what's that
34:04 cute dog
34:07 yeah life's tough it's tougher when
34:09 you're stupid yeah see not bad
34:12 all right quick draw am I late oh
34:14 Emilio's wife you're never late you're
34:16 always on time I missed the salon oh
34:19 Clint that sucks
34:21 but it was recorded so it will be up on
34:23 the YouTube
34:25 on the YouTube the YouTubes just like
34:27 the ticky tacky but the the videos go
34:30 sideways instead of up and down
34:32 the Ticky tuck this is the big
34:34 difference I'm I'm bit I'm I'm this
34:37 might be intimidating I'm a bit more
34:39 technical
34:40 um the Ticky talk the videos go this way
34:43 and the YouTube the videos go this way
34:46 and when you try to stick a Ticky talk
34:48 on a YouTube it look it looks like
34:49 garbage
34:51 but when you try to stick a YouTube
34:52 video on a ticket talk it looks like
34:54 garbage so that's it's probably more of
34:56 a technical explanation and you may be
34:58 prepared for but because you're not
35:00 educated like me but you know that's
35:03 that's because I've been I've been
35:05 studying a lot of this internet
35:07 Technologies for like three six months a
35:11 couple of months almost a year now
35:14 so you know if if it feels if you're
35:17 feeling left behind
35:19 because when you hear people like me
35:21 talk I understand and I like I don't I
35:24 don't mean to brag about how smart I am
35:27 it's just that you know sometimes it's
35:31 just like there's a reality like you
35:33 take a test and there's a score on it
35:35 and if my score is higher than your
35:36 score it's like it's not a personal
35:39 thing that I think you're a dum-dum
35:41 yeah I don't I don't think you're dumb
35:43 dumb it's just I'm like I'm more
35:46 educated in the more technical nature
35:50 of the Ticky Talk of the Youth of the
35:53 these situations
35:56 does that make sense is I hope I'm
35:57 making sense is this making sense to
35:59 people you're learning right this is the
36:01 AI learning lab her name's Ali
36:05 she's the AI learning lab oh you thought
36:07 you were coming here to learn Ai No no
36:09 this is Ally this this is she's my AI
36:11 learning lab she she she teaches me
36:15 educational
36:17 situations all right and scene
36:23 uh by the way uh for the 52 of you here
36:26 right now this will be a useless uh next
36:29 45 minutes of your life so feel free to
36:32 leave now it doesn't get better than
36:34 this this is this is pretty much what it
36:37 is on nights like this uh I'm exhausted
36:40 so it's just you know when you get a
36:42 little Punchy [ __ ] happens
36:43 Salon is always so incredibly awesome
36:45 awesome I Feel So Unworthy to even log
36:48 in so much knowledge no don't feel that
36:50 way at all Tobias it's listen that's the
36:52 whole point of the salon it's the whole
36:54 point of this channel is
36:56 UM
36:58 we're all trying to figure this [ __ ] out
37:00 this is this is complicated stuff not
37:03 The Tick Tock vertical YouTube
37:05 horizontal that's not so stuff
37:08 uh blink twice if you need help thank
37:12 you digital gods
37:17 Champs laying over here Champ's good
37:19 we're good we're good here in the Denver
37:22 we are good here in the Denver Nancy's
37:25 here hey Nancy what's shaking What's
37:27 Happening
37:28 Jokers here
37:30 crypto zombie you're not related to
37:33 Rosie O'Donnell are you oh crypto zombie
37:35 that's such a cute one that's a cute
37:38 well we've heard that one before
37:40 you got to get into some of the deep
37:42 cuts of my D celebrity likeness
37:45 accusations
37:48 Rosie O'Donnell that's right on the
37:50 surface
37:53 my favorite was I was scrolling through
37:56 Tick Tock and I thought Alec Baldwin got
37:59 fat
38:06 oh that's a troll now that's a troll
38:10 um it looks like the children's book
38:12 version of AI learning lab it's totally
38:14 the children's book version of that
38:15 that's a good t-shirt like we're gonna
38:17 put that on a t-shirt
38:19 oh by the way speaking of this you want
38:21 to hear some [ __ ] horse [ __ ]
38:24 oh my God so
38:27 um
38:28 so I make a tick tock store
38:31 and and I because people are like we
38:35 want t-shirts we want t-shirts of like
38:37 the turtle like this image which one
38:40 that image
38:42 I'm not weird I'm irregular for the
38:44 Irregulars they're like I want that in a
38:45 T-shirt and then now we have the AI
38:48 learning lab and that could be on a
38:49 t-shirt so I make a tick tock shop and I
38:53 pair it up with printful and printful's
38:55 got a tick tock app
38:58 where you make [ __ ] on printful and then
39:01 you connect it to tick tock and then
39:03 your products show up in Tick Tock and
39:05 people in Tick Tock and click on them
39:06 and buy them don't don't buy them right
39:08 now by the way this part of the story
39:11 um
39:12 well apparently
39:14 Tick Tock and printful are fighting
39:17 so when you order
39:20 through my Tick Tock shop
39:22 it won't send the complete address to
39:24 printful
39:25 and there's no way in Tick Tock for me
39:27 to get the personal address to manually
39:30 input it into printful because they say
39:33 that sensitive information and we would
39:35 never give that to you I'm like but
39:37 there they bought [ __ ] on my shop in my
39:41 store that you're hosting like it's your
39:44 technology showing the printful [ __ ] and
39:46 they're like we don't support printful
39:47 I'm like well tell that to the [ __ ]
39:50 technology so anyway so I gotta shut
39:52 down the shop and start over somehow and
39:55 find something that works so apologies
39:58 for the [ __ ] show but you know when when
40:00 corporate entities
40:02 what probably happened is Tick Tock cut
40:06 a really Cherry deal with printify
40:09 and then printify other said make tick
40:11 make make printful not work or you know
40:16 Tick Tock went to printful and said well
40:18 we cut this deal with printify so we
40:20 want you to give us the same deal and
40:22 print printful probably said [ __ ] you
40:24 and so they just said okay yeah we'll
40:27 just not send any addresses you'll not
40:29 be able to fulfill anything how's that
40:31 sound
40:32 so there's some sort of corporate
40:33 Shenanigans going on
40:36 um the local install includes functions
40:38 too so the llm can access most system
40:41 applications that's the that's the worm
40:43 GPT yeah that one's pretty crazy
40:46 how many personalities do you have just
40:49 enough what's that George Carlin joke
40:51 um
40:53 it's like
40:54 how many times how many times do I have
40:57 to tell you
40:58 six
41:02 how many personalities do you have just
41:05 enough what does the ideogram misspelled
41:08 words wait why does ideogram misspell
41:11 the words that I put in the prompt so
41:13 Johnny's 24 honey okay
41:17 so the fact that ideogram can make words
41:20 at all is like a minor miracle if you
41:24 understand how these things work they're
41:25 they're
41:26 the way diffusion model work models work
41:29 they're starting with essentially a
41:31 noised image a completely noisy image
41:34 and it's not one image it's like they're
41:36 averaging together like thousands of
41:38 images into a single noisy image and
41:40 then just denoising it so that's how the
41:43 how the tech actually works ideogram has
41:47 figured out some way I I assume they've
41:49 got two different models one has the
41:51 typography and one has the other [ __ ]
41:53 and they're somehow melding them
41:56 so it gets the words right about 15 of
42:02 the time in my experience and so like we
42:04 can actually go play now let's like
42:05 let's go look at this and it's weird
42:07 some words it gets better than others
42:09 some words it's not good at it all
42:12 let's see
42:17 that looks wrong
42:20 each sleep design repeat
42:25 um
42:31 hold I just want to find something
42:32 interesting here oh this is good
42:38 all right so I'm going to capture this
42:42 so what I did is I just went into went
42:44 into an image oh by the way this is the
42:46 image it's pretty funny
42:48 and so I'm just going to paste that
42:51 prompt in up here it says typography
42:55 illustration
42:56 [Music]
42:58 illustration
43:00 conceptual art where's conceptual art
43:03 there's conceptual art okay so we can
43:05 get rid of these now
43:09 The Simpsons run a meth lab with a
43:11 vintage surreal Bauhaus inspired design
43:13 principles so The Simpsons run a meth
43:17 lab
43:18 and then let's see
43:21 this is weird it it wrote it wrote that
43:24 I guess because they said typography
43:26 here
43:27 so Simpsons runs a meth lab
43:32 I'm gonna I'm just gonna say comma and
43:35 then I'll put in quote marks AI learning
43:38 lab it'll be interesting to see if it
43:40 gets this right or not
43:42 I'm gonna make it a vertical poster
43:45 let's see what it does
43:47 here's the I wouldn't call this a hack
43:50 for for
43:51 um
43:53 for ideogram but it's kind of a hack
44:01 all right so three of them don't have
44:03 any
44:05 any text whatsoever this one's got some
44:07 text and it says AI lapia or lapsea or
44:12 lapia whatever
44:15 um
44:17 so something's wrong there so I'm gonna
44:18 I'm gonna take my text and I'm going to
44:21 cut it from the end and I'm going to put
44:23 it at the beginning
44:27 and I'm going to put display text
44:33 AI learning lab comma
44:37 Simpsons let's see what this does
44:45 oh I bet I know why though
44:48 there's so much light spilling oh yeah
44:51 I've got
44:53 hold please
44:57 I have fingerprints all over my lenses
45:00 if you're wondering why the back camera
45:01 looks like [ __ ] it's because it's
45:04 filming through a layer of peanut butter
45:08 yeah that's better
45:11 um
45:15 so we still didn't get any words this
45:18 has some words but they're not there
45:19 this one says meth lab and it's not
45:21 Simpsons and it's not AI learning lab
45:23 but what I've what I've learned is if
45:25 you click on one of the ones that's kind
45:28 of close that's got some words on it and
45:30 you just hit remix
45:32 and just keep remixing it it'll
45:34 eventually get some of the words in
45:36 there so if you get something that's
45:38 close but not quite there just remix it
45:41 and then you'll eventually get one
45:42 that's close
45:44 um but if you try to get if you try to
45:46 get words like this in uh oh this looks
45:50 like it's going to do AI learning Lab
45:51 look at the bottom there that's looking
45:53 pretty close
45:56 yeah that's pretty good look that's
45:58 pretty good meth B AI learning web okay
46:02 we're keeping this one this one this
46:04 one's going
46:05 we're keeping this one wow why does he
46:08 have drug references in in AI learning
46:11 lab that doesn't seem appropriate at all
46:12 I thought this was a children's channel
46:14 what what is he doing with his life what
46:17 is he doing with his life why does he do
46:18 this
46:19 why does he do this
46:22 um what am I doing I'm doing this I'm
46:23 going to save it save image as
46:26 and then we're going to put it here
46:28 we're gonna do meth lab
46:31 and and then we're gonna go to
46:43 all right hope that helps
46:48 Simpsons
46:49 [Music]
46:55 um
46:56 all right
46:59 how much would our bills be this month
47:01 if we were still on dial-up paying by
47:03 the minute yeah for this channel it
47:05 would be a [ __ ] fortune wouldn't it
47:07 man that was amazing how many
47:09 personalities do you have I retina
47:11 yes that was my
47:14 my uh
47:15 World ID they scanned my
47:18 my Iris and they compared my uniqueness
47:21 with other human beings in the database
47:23 and then they threw out my biometric
47:25 data according to them
47:27 your poor Mom oh yeah and wife and kids
47:30 and dog it's rough it's rough the local
47:35 install includes functions too so the
47:37 llm can okay we talked about that why is
47:40 Tick Tock just bouncing me all over the
47:41 Jane
47:43 why is The Tick Tock acting weird
47:47 um are you related to Rosie O'Donnell we
47:50 had that one any good AI for mobile yes
47:55 well I don't know if it's good for
47:57 mobile but
48:04 go to the App Store and search for Pi Pi
48:08 personal assistant
48:11 the company is in flexion the app is
48:13 called pi as in the number not the food
48:17 product
48:18 and
48:20 it is a conversational
48:24 large language model so it's like chat
48:26 GPT
48:27 it's connected to the internet and it's
48:29 designed to you put it into voice mode
48:34 and when you put it into voice mode you
48:35 just talk to it and it talks back and
48:38 it's really good for that
48:40 it's not great like you can go to Pi dot
48:42 AI on the web you can go to the web
48:44 version of it and just use it like chat
48:46 GPT but it's so chatty that it you'll
48:50 want to you'll want to break your
48:51 machine
48:52 you're like can I just have a list of
48:54 this I would love to give you a list of
48:56 that you know
48:57 now that you think of it what would
48:58 really help me is if you could clarify
49:00 why you want a list of that I want a
49:02 list because I just want a [ __ ] list
49:03 could you just give me the [ __ ] list
49:05 that is a I can understand your
49:07 frustration that must be really
49:08 frustrating but you know what really
49:09 helped me
49:11 but when you're talking to it when you
49:14 just put it in voice mode and like throw
49:16 it in your Bluetooth on your car and
49:18 just be driving around the city talking
49:20 to chat GPT connected to the internet
49:22 it's insane
49:24 they also raised
49:27 1.3 billion dollars in flexion the
49:30 company behind Pi dot AI so
49:33 they're going to be going some places
49:35 they're going to be turning that pie
49:36 that cute little conversational AI is
49:39 gonna get might I'm out of powerful it's
49:41 going to get Mighty powerful
49:43 What's it gonna do Kyle it's going to do
49:45 stuff for you you're just gonna say hey
49:47 pie
49:48 I'm thinking about a vacation
49:50 do I have enough money and Pie's gonna
49:53 go oh let me go check your bank account
49:55 oh it doesn't look like you do but you
49:57 have this much credit on this credit
49:59 card
50:00 you want to put that on a credit card
50:02 okay can you get me a deal oh let me go
50:05 look let me go buy you tickets
50:07 so these these uh these tools are going
50:10 to get quite
50:11 they're gonna get quite Hands-On with
50:13 our data Jane stop this crazy thing
50:17 there was a there was an a joke I had
50:20 with a bunch of actors like it might
50:22 have it might have been a stand-up
50:23 comedy actor it might have been just the
50:25 local group actors but we always used to
50:27 joke about the auditions for Jane Jane
50:30 stop this crazy thing Jayden stop this
50:32 crazy thing and you know you get method
50:35 actors in there Jane stop this
50:38 crazy thing
50:40 oh
50:44 uh one of these days will AI achieve
50:47 well AI achieved the salon it might AI
50:51 might host the salon
50:53 that was that was a lot tonight can you
50:55 imagine the credit card companies paying
50:57 to influence what you AI share
51:01 Maybe
51:03 I am viable I I'm totally viable like if
51:09 all of a sudden you see me like
51:13 you know I've been bought I've been
51:15 bought up well let me tell you about
51:18 this this app although you know not for
51:20 nothing but like the fact that I just
51:22 put these URLs up here you know hours at
51:25 a time overnight and talk about how
51:28 awesome they are
51:29 that's uh
51:31 that's something worth paying for ain't
51:33 no one paid me yet ain't no one gave me
51:36 the money I ain't got nothing I ain't
51:39 got nothing MR Salon today
51:42 uh another ADHD Miss oh Silver Fox
51:45 that's too bad we recorded it but we'll
51:47 be there in two weeks we'll be there you
51:49 hang out here you get there you you get
51:52 plenty of this you have plenty it was
51:56 enough it was a good one though it was a
51:57 good conversation tonight
52:00 um that's why I'm learning because of my
52:02 disabilities oh that's very cool yep
52:04 change Mankind's thoughts loved the name
52:07 that's super cool
52:09 majority in here including the host is
52:12 neurodivergent how dare you cocklaw we
52:15 even have our doctor here it's true yeah
52:19 we're neurospices we like to say we're
52:21 neurospacey this is chat add
52:24 welcome to the AI learning lab where
52:27 wait wait for it
52:31 where we have a lab
52:37 who said hi to me someone said hi Kyle
52:39 where did it go
52:42 oh Robert Rossi what's happening man
52:45 how you doing what's shaking oh by the
52:47 way uh there's 44 of you in here I'm 99
52:50 messages behind so hey everybody can we
52:53 have an age poll of the people here yeah
52:57 sure
52:58 pop in how old you are let's let's see
53:00 I'll jump down to the bottom
53:02 how old are you I'll go first I'm 58.
53:04 five eight five eight fifty eight years
53:07 five decades eight years 57 45 50. yeah
53:12 I think we got Gen X baby Gen X Gen X
53:14 Emilio's wife not admitting the actual
53:17 age she's she's just giving the category
53:20 cockload 36.
53:22 digital God 67 user 6162 was 27. you
53:27 listen user user six one six one two six
53:30 two seven five oh one three two do
53:33 something with your name you're 27.
53:35 you should have you should have like a
53:37 name and an nft like a crypto Punk
53:43 [ __ ] Avatar what are you doing
53:46 are you just like the conscientious
53:47 objector of gen Z the [ __ ] is happening
53:51 come on Snap two
53:53 I'm 27 and I don't believe you just
53:55 asked Emilio yeah yeah I'll believe that
53:58 56 50 64. yeah we're old in here this
54:02 this is a this is a this is what you
54:04 would call a uh a respectable
54:06 demographic
54:09 respectively undesirable from the
54:11 advertising community
54:15 they want the young hot kids it's hot
54:18 it's hot it's hot hot indictment summer
54:25 I'm not even sure Emilio exists that's
54:28 pretty funny
54:28 [Laughter]
54:31 um all right I'm gonna go answer some
54:33 more questions up above let's see
54:43 CV we're lucky Ruff lull
54:48 chechi BT has good mobile yeah chat GPT
54:51 is pretty good mobile
54:53 um Jane stopped this crazy thing it's
54:55 called something different Kyle I don't
54:57 know what it's better than Ari
55:00 Kyle's been verified by a machine to be
55:02 human it's true
55:05 it is true a machine verified me
55:08 but the thing about that world ID that
55:11 it didn't really hit me until I got it
55:15 is that
55:18 it is a unique
55:21 idea of me without any of my identifying
55:25 information on it it's Anonymous right
55:27 that was the big word the biggest word
55:29 on that ID is anonymous
55:32 but I'm the only one who can present it
55:35 I'm the only one who can use that ID for
55:37 any kind of transaction because I have
55:39 the secret key it's my wallet that's how
55:42 the crypto [ __ ] works and so it is a
55:45 zero
55:47 you know
55:48 a zero proof identity
55:52 no one needs to know it's me they just
55:54 know that I'm human which is kind of
55:56 cool
55:58 like personal assistant AI yes pie
56:02 exactly
56:05 um chatty AI LOL yeah chatty GPT Pi dot
56:09 Pi dot the PI app is chatty GPT
56:11 definitely I saw that Google is working
56:14 on a digital detect feature that employs
56:16 a permanent Watermark yeah they're
56:18 they're
56:20 um
56:21 so so the way I understand what Google
56:24 did is is they're saying
56:26 we're gonna build into any image
56:28 generation tool that
56:30 that we build we Google build
56:34 we're going to build in digital
56:35 watermarking that's not a visual
56:37 Watermark it's a it's a you know it's
56:39 like a signature in the code in the you
56:42 know in how the image is encoded
56:44 it's it's it's jammed in there so so you
56:47 can't you can't edit it out basically
56:51 my question is like I don't I don't
56:55 quite know how it works so at what point
56:57 in sort of photo manipulating it if you
57:00 take one of those AI generated images
57:02 into Photoshop and you start layering it
57:05 with other things and you start
57:06 photoshopping out certain pieces and
57:08 you're copying and pasting pieces of it
57:10 does it retain the like at what point
57:13 does it cease being an AI generated
57:17 image
57:18 so so that's so one thing they're doing
57:20 is that there's kind of this assumption
57:22 that
57:23 AI generated art and AI generated chat
57:27 GPT [ __ ] is all going to be like push
57:29 the button get an image you know type in
57:32 the prompt get out of magazine article
57:34 that's not my experience with using
57:38 these tools at all right like oh like
57:40 I'll like this dude right here has five
57:44 feet I took that into Photoshop and got
57:46 rid of the fifth foot
57:48 so is that an AI generated image well it
57:52 is but I got rid of the foot and I
57:54 extended the edges and I did a bunch of
57:56 [ __ ] to it at what point is it mine I
57:59 don't know
58:00 the other thing that they did is they
58:02 made that watermarking technology a
58:05 standard so they're basically saying
58:06 anyone else who wants to Watermark
58:09 AI generated images can do that
58:13 and so they're trying to make it a
58:15 standard I just don't know I just don't
58:17 know the value of it like like
58:22 does it really [ __ ] matter if a
58:25 photograph was taken with a film camera
58:27 or a digital camera
58:30 like if the photograph is the photograph
58:32 does it matter well
58:35 when all there were were film cameras
58:38 and Along Came digital cameras it was a
58:40 big [ __ ] deal because photographers
58:42 are like that's not real photography we
58:45 should somehow treat that differently
58:46 because that's not a real photograph
58:48 well after some amount of years yeah
58:51 it's a real photograph
58:53 it's just a different way to do it
58:56 and these things are going to be similar
58:58 it's like I don't know I don't know I
59:00 don't know the value of the watermarking
59:02 thing I really don't
59:04 now what would be valuable here here's
59:06 what I think would be valuable
59:09 if I'm the New York Times or I'm
59:11 whatever whatever news organization
59:15 and
59:16 I write an article
59:19 and I attach an image to that article
59:21 whether that image was
59:24 AI generated or not if it if if I as the
59:27 New York Times from an editorial
59:29 perspective think that this photo goes
59:32 with this article
59:33 and I put that out in the world
59:37 does it really matter if that article
59:39 was 50 written by a person 100 written
59:44 by a person zero percent written by a
59:46 person what seems to me more valuable is
59:49 some sort of Watermark that says this is
59:53 the original article that the New York
59:55 Times put out there with the original
59:57 image that the New York Times put out
59:59 there and here's a watermark that says
1:00:01 this hasn't been tampered with and if
1:00:03 you tamper with either of these elements
1:00:06 in any way that Watermark breaks
1:00:09 that seems to me to be valuable
1:00:11 just being able to say like was this AI
1:00:14 generated just because it's AI generated
1:00:16 doesn't implicitly make it bad that's
1:00:18 kind of the the implication of all this
1:00:20 you know chat gbt detectors ai's bad AI
1:00:24 is bad unless it's not
1:00:28 it's all about the use case
1:00:31 and it's about who's using it and how
1:00:33 they're using it right so I don't know
1:00:36 chaos generation I don't have a I don't
1:00:38 have a good answer on that one I just I
1:00:40 it just feels like a bunch of wasted
1:00:43 engineering cycles and a wasted brain
1:00:45 power for for a very temporary time in
1:00:49 history where we need to know if the
1:00:52 robots made that oh hello oh that's
1:00:55 fantastic oh
1:00:57 that would go with my purple boots like
1:00:59 you don't even know
1:01:01 um
1:01:02 right I mean
1:01:05 is it gonna [ __ ] matter three years
1:01:07 from now do you think we're gonna give a
1:01:09 [ __ ]
1:01:10 that something was AI generated or AI
1:01:14 assisted or AI helped or AI hinted or we
1:01:19 did grammar checking with AI no
1:01:23 who's gonna give a [ __ ]
1:01:26 chatty bot is my nickname for it it
1:01:29 calls me chatty human oh that's really
1:01:31 funny pot for pie chaos generation on
1:01:34 all media created by AI we are just at
1:01:36 the beginning we are absolutely just at
1:01:38 the beginning hopefully in that same
1:01:40 voice
1:01:44 pie might be great for isolated older
1:01:46 people to talk to I was thinking that
1:01:48 exact same thing done done done a Smith
1:01:52 1956. I like the name it's just you got
1:01:56 all of it right there we're just gonna
1:01:57 go complete doxing ourselves the the
1:02:00 only way to complete that name any
1:02:01 further is put your social security
1:02:02 number at the end of it that's solid
1:02:04 though I like it uh
1:02:09 hey everybody can we have an age pull oh
1:02:12 we did that so let's get past all the
1:02:14 ages here
1:02:17 and get down to some more questions and
1:02:20 comments questions and comments and
1:02:23 questions and comments
1:02:31 paint's here
1:02:33 welcome Pete
1:02:35 I like paint
1:02:37 I think Pate comes in just to keep us
1:02:39 all humble because pate's an actual data
1:02:42 scientist working on machine learning
1:02:44 he's paid's one of the guys that makes
1:02:46 this [ __ ] work you know when you just
1:02:48 type [ __ ] in chat GPT or in Google bard
1:02:50 and just [ __ ] happens
1:02:52 hates the reason
1:02:54 he's like doing the [ __ ] fancy math
1:02:57 to make sure that [ __ ] just works
1:03:00 this is I'm I'm I am my engineering
1:03:03 team's worst nightmare I'm the I'm the
1:03:05 worst kind of product
1:03:07 um client because
1:03:09 they're like they're like what are the
1:03:12 acceptance criteria and I'm like
1:03:15 um it should [ __ ] work
1:03:18 foreign
1:03:20 that's the criteria is it should not
1:03:23 suck they're like that's not specific
1:03:25 enough well
1:03:28 here look I I do this and it do not work
1:03:32 that bad
1:03:34 oh [ __ ] I didn't plug in my phone I'm
1:03:37 about to die
1:03:39 I'm about to die hang on people hang on
1:03:41 just calm down just all of you comb
1:03:44 right down
1:03:45 you can't sell rambunctious in here what
1:03:47 time is it
1:03:50 10 45 I gotta go to bed people
1:03:54 what do you think this is
1:03:55 all right
1:03:58 Chad EDD it's particularly add tonight
1:04:01 it's 880 add riffic tonight you you've
1:04:05 gathered your people Kyle I have
1:04:08 what website can print me an avatar and
1:04:11 crypto image
1:04:13 um I don't know what do you mean print
1:04:15 you one
1:04:17 print you an avatar Oh you mean make an
1:04:19 avatar
1:04:22 um and I don't know what a crypto image
1:04:23 means like like an nft like you own the
1:04:26 image or you want to take an nft and you
1:04:28 want to print it I don't quite know what
1:04:30 you mean Jesse from Austin
1:04:32 um not down with ageism
1:04:34 yeah and uh I listen here's the deal
1:04:39 with the with the ageism stuff I I I
1:04:41 experienced it when I first moved to uh
1:04:44 to Boulder I was like oh like I'm a
1:04:47 successful entrepreneur I've had an exit
1:04:49 I'm moving into this entrepreneurial
1:04:51 town I'm starting this new company all
1:04:53 of the you know Gen X style
1:04:57 entrepreneurs in the town are going to
1:04:59 be sweet to see me and they're going to
1:05:01 want to hang out and do cool [ __ ] nope
1:05:05 they had no [ __ ] interest they were
1:05:08 interested in you know a couple of 20
1:05:10 somethings in a case of Red Bull
1:05:12 to to you know to do their startups so
1:05:15 it was weird and what's what's funny
1:05:18 about the AI stuff is you know I've said
1:05:21 in here before I think that AI does two
1:05:24 things that I think are going to be
1:05:26 really interesting oh you're not a data
1:05:27 scientist what are you pate
1:05:30 um
1:05:31 but you still work for the goog if
1:05:33 you're working for the goog and you're
1:05:34 in some sort of tech optimization thing
1:05:36 whether you're a meth I I do fancy them
1:05:39 I do the fancy math though see see I
1:05:42 Like You Can't Hide You have a PhD for
1:05:46 one thing you're working at Google for
1:05:48 another thing you're working on machine
1:05:50 learning at Google for a fourth thing
1:05:52 and you're talking about you help
1:05:54 optimize the [ __ ] whether or not you are
1:05:57 a mathematician there
1:06:00 um
1:06:01 does not mean you ain't good at this
1:06:04 [ __ ]
1:06:05 watching me try to do code interpreter
1:06:07 is hilarious because I've I know so
1:06:09 here's the deal hey I know so little
1:06:12 about math I don't know how to use
1:06:14 Wolfram Alpha because I don't know what
1:06:16 to ask it like when I see a mathematical
1:06:18 formula I'm just like okay it's pretty
1:06:21 letters like I like how they're in
1:06:23 different levels it's it's really bad so
1:06:26 you got to be better than that
1:06:30 um
1:06:33 um the ageism thing so
1:06:36 so I think that if I were to start a
1:06:39 company right now
1:06:42 I would lean to it and it's so funny a
1:06:45 year ago like before Chad TPT came out
1:06:47 if I were to start a company
1:06:49 I would do what I think most people
1:06:52 would do I would say you know get me a
1:06:54 co-founder where we've got complimentary
1:06:56 skills and then we would find a handful
1:06:59 of Young Smart ambitious people who are
1:07:02 willing to learn and then we kind of
1:07:04 build the company and we train them up
1:07:06 and and you know over you know the year
1:07:08 or two or ten that you're making a
1:07:10 company those those young people grow
1:07:12 into their roles and you do all that and
1:07:14 it it makes sense for them it gives them
1:07:17 opportunity it makes sense for the
1:07:19 company because they don't cost as much
1:07:20 because they're younger and and you know
1:07:23 everybody wins
1:07:25 with AI I don't think I'd start a
1:07:27 company like that anymore I think I
1:07:29 would rather than take in you know two
1:07:33 old people Founders and three or four
1:07:35 young people I would probably get three
1:07:37 or four Gen X
1:07:40 founders
1:07:41 that
1:07:43 have been on the pla well they've
1:07:44 obviously been on the planet for a while
1:07:46 but have been in you know whatever their
1:07:47 profession is for a lot of years
1:07:50 because they're going to be able to look
1:07:52 at the output of this AI stuff and just
1:07:54 instantly be able to tell whether it's
1:07:56 good or not and so I think that critical
1:07:59 thinking and curation and refinement
1:08:02 are much more important skills moving
1:08:05 forward than being able to crank out the
1:08:07 work like we ask of young people so
1:08:11 it's so I'm calling it revenge of the
1:08:14 Revenge of Gen X you know I think having
1:08:17 Gen X people in companies is going to be
1:08:20 it's gonna come back in fashion
1:08:24 for some time
1:08:25 yeah I know I'm not down with ageism too
1:08:27 but what are you gonna do I just retired
1:08:29 from TV
1:08:30 and they are asking my age well
1:08:33 well Dawn that's the uh
1:08:36 that's that business
1:08:38 that is that business and it is not kind
1:08:40 to women man it is not I have some fancy
1:08:43 math U equals g plus h plus c
1:08:48 I would imagine that formula that you
1:08:51 put up there is probably a joke but like
1:08:53 I'm too dense with math to even get it
1:08:57 did we just learn that everyone here is
1:08:59 old I'm pretty sure we just learned that
1:09:00 everyone hears old except for user six
1:09:03 one six two one two one three four eight
1:09:07 oh one two six
1:09:09 is 27.
1:09:13 we we I I
1:09:15 um understandably made fun of their name
1:09:23 was here for Kyle's anti-balding tips
1:09:25 well it's I would listen it it's I'm
1:09:30 happy with the amount of hair I have for
1:09:33 the age I am but my forehead is
1:09:36 significantly larger than it was a
1:09:38 decade ago so and I don't think it's
1:09:41 because my brain group
1:09:43 I think I think that's clear the big AI
1:09:47 Senate hearing is tomorrow it's closed
1:09:49 door no press yeah that's the one
1:09:51 they're having
1:09:54 basically they're
1:09:58 uh it's so [ __ ] exhausting so Chuck
1:10:01 Schumer called it
1:10:04 and then
1:10:05 like it's like a list of like
1:10:08 eight
1:10:09 eight men like there were no women and
1:10:11 then one or two women were invited at
1:10:14 the last minute as like oh we forgot the
1:10:17 women this is probably gonna look bad if
1:10:18 we don't have women
1:10:20 so
1:10:21 I don't know
1:10:23 yes
1:10:24 it's it's not that hard is it apparently
1:10:28 it is
1:10:29 uh
1:10:32 but that will be interesting to see what
1:10:34 comes out of that I mean Schumer says
1:10:36 that you know they're gonna they're
1:10:37 gonna talk seriously they're gonna come
1:10:39 out with some sort of [ __ ] point of
1:10:40 view on AI which good I think they
1:10:42 should
1:10:46 I mean they have some smart folks in
1:10:48 there xerox's as Xerox copy as photo key
1:10:52 deleted
1:10:54 all organisms are important wait I
1:10:57 misspelled them a certain word in my
1:11:00 head uh
1:11:02 that's funny that's very funny
1:11:06 I just think of my years of expertise
1:11:09 being put to good use been remixing
1:11:11 businesses exactly Silver Fox remixing
1:11:15 businesses taking [ __ ] you learned in
1:11:18 college that didn't find its way into
1:11:20 your life in in a professional setting
1:11:23 and all of a sudden these tools let you
1:11:25 kind of reinvigorate that part of your
1:11:28 life and then mix that with the [ __ ]
1:11:29 you've been doing professionally and
1:11:31 then oh [ __ ] that's a completely
1:11:32 different business exactly
1:11:35 the level of reinvention that we all get
1:11:38 the chance to do right now is absolutely
1:11:40 Bonkers Bonkers Bonkers why no nft the
1:11:46 every image
1:11:50 um
1:11:50 because
1:11:52 minting nfts is well so if you're
1:11:56 talking about why not nft the if you're
1:11:59 talking about when I was talking about
1:12:00 the New York Times
1:12:03 um
1:12:04 putting their image out there and and
1:12:07 verifying that that wasn't [ __ ] with
1:12:09 yeah that's an NF like it's an nft or
1:12:11 it's some sort of tokenization
1:12:12 Technology some sort of blockchain
1:12:14 technology or some other tokenization
1:12:16 technology that's exactly what I'm
1:12:18 talking about I think that's going to be
1:12:19 important
1:12:21 all right we got a poll there's a pole
1:12:24 go take the pole
1:12:27 where are you in your generative AI
1:12:29 Journey
1:12:32 every paper I ever wrote was pretty much
1:12:35 pleasure plagiarized unless sighted yeah
1:12:37 of course what weren't all of our papers
1:12:39 except you know for people that really
1:12:41 took that [ __ ] seriously
1:12:44 that provenance is a case for blockchain
1:12:47 a lot nfts exactly the the yeah that's
1:12:50 that's the reason the reason I'm excited
1:12:52 about having my world ID thing is like I
1:12:54 don't really give a [ __ ] if that's it
1:12:55 but like it feels like a good first step
1:12:58 to me in
1:13:00 nfts not being about
1:13:03 nft Bros going you can make a fortune
1:13:06 with nfts you can make money with nft
1:13:08 right that [ __ ] crowd they they
1:13:11 deserve the time out there in the middle
1:13:13 of right now
1:13:15 the technology though is interesting and
1:13:17 and it is going to be needed so so I
1:13:20 think that AI ultimately drives the
1:13:22 adoption of blockchain and nft
1:13:25 you're being very naive with your
1:13:28 examples and aren't thinking about Bad
1:13:29 actors
1:13:32 um
1:13:32 probably I'm trying I'm just trying not
1:13:35 to focus on Bad actors if you look if
1:13:38 you look at I showed earlier before you
1:13:40 got here paint I showed worm GPT have
1:13:43 you seen worm GPT it's a it's an open
1:13:47 source unrestricted autonomous agent I
1:13:50 think it's 100 bucks a month or
1:13:52 something like that and they're they're
1:13:53 basically marketing that to people that
1:13:56 want to do bad [ __ ] so yeah
1:13:59 I don't
1:14:02 yes
1:14:04 I am I am purposefully I am purposely
1:14:08 not focusing on all the bad [ __ ] that
1:14:10 can happen with this stuff
1:14:12 um not out of night naivete but I feel
1:14:15 like
1:14:16 that
1:14:17 narrative is covered
1:14:20 right I feel like every News Channel's
1:14:23 got the story about are the robots gonna
1:14:25 kill us
1:14:27 what's this thing let's chat gbt and
1:14:30 infiltrating nuclear power plants
1:14:35 what if AI takes down the power grid
1:14:38 but if AI launches nuclear missiles I
1:14:41 feel like it's covered
1:14:42 I also can't do anything about it
1:14:45 I mean I don't have any interest in I'm
1:14:47 not a hacker I'm not a white hat or a
1:14:49 black hat hacker
1:14:51 I'm interested in you know real people
1:14:53 using this [ __ ] so it's yeah it's I
1:14:56 don't know if it's a blind spot it's a
1:14:58 consciously ignored spot
1:15:00 did you show The Voice coder for the
1:15:03 office yesterday
1:15:07 oh oh no I didn't go Eric forner
1:15:13 I'm trying to think where you sent me
1:15:15 those links
1:15:20 I forget where they are I don't remember
1:15:22 sorry
1:15:24 did you show the Matthew Craig official
1:15:27 email today
1:15:28 I don't think so hang on
1:15:32 [Music]
1:15:38 [Music]
1:15:38 um
1:16:00 [Music]
1:16:01 um
1:16:04 convert computer voice comparison at the
1:16:07 verge
1:16:09 so this was
1:16:11 so Matthew Craig sent this to me or
1:16:14 the goat Eric former
1:16:17 so these are
1:16:21 we transcribed text and fed it into
1:16:23 every AI generator we tested
1:16:28 so
1:16:30 here's
1:16:32 podcastle what is my Perfect Crime I
1:16:35 break into Tiffany's at midnight do I go
1:16:38 for the fall no I go for the chandelier
1:16:40 it's probably here's the script what is
1:16:43 my Perfect Crime I break into Tiffany's
1:16:45 at midnight do I go for the vault no I
1:16:48 go for the chandelier it's priceless
1:16:50 here's Apple personal voice which I hate
1:16:53 what is my Perfect Crime I break into
1:16:56 Tiffany's at midnight do I go for the
1:16:58 vault no I go for the chandelier it's
1:17:01 Priceless the Apple one's so shitty it's
1:17:03 got like noisy artifacts and weird [ __ ]
1:17:06 and then here's 11 Labs what is my
1:17:08 Perfect Crime I break into Tiffany's at
1:17:10 midnight do I go for the vault no I go
1:17:12 for the chandelier it's Priceless I love
1:17:15 it what he says is 11 Labs is better I I
1:17:18 mean I like it it's but I gotta tell you
1:17:20 the
1:17:22 all all of those including 11 Labs feels
1:17:25 really uh whatever you call it to me
1:17:29 um fake
1:17:30 but this
1:17:32 this uh Hey gen thing organizations
1:17:43 that feels way more real to me but it's
1:17:47 not the same thing the the things that
1:17:49 the samples that I just played were
1:17:53 pure synthesis only right they're taking
1:17:56 text and turning turning that into a
1:17:58 voice based on the model
1:17:59 this is they're generating the model and
1:18:03 then they're somehow mixing my original
1:18:04 recording the Cadence and the
1:18:08 in the uh
1:18:10 uh pitch
1:18:12 and modulation of it with the
1:18:15 synthesized model and so it's making
1:18:17 something that's much much more natural
1:18:20 none of them are as good as you speaking
1:18:22 Italian exactly
1:18:27 like that's that's [ __ ] real but
1:18:30 that's starting with a human Source
1:18:31 right so you start with a human source
1:18:33 and source and you synth on top of it it
1:18:37 seems to be more betterer
1:18:41 all right I'm gonna do a few more
1:18:43 questions and I'm gonna get out of your
1:18:45 hair because you know look at my hair my
1:18:47 hair is normal tonight it's like a
1:18:49 normal sort of situation
1:18:52 I don't know what happened I apologize I
1:18:55 know some of you come here to see the
1:18:57 quaffery
1:18:58 and and how it sometimes goes awry and
1:19:01 it didn't do it tonight I'm the only 20
1:19:04 year old in here
1:19:06 um clip per flare no oh wait Kip oh
1:19:09 Cipher Cipher flare I like the name 9.5
1:19:13 out of 10. solid
1:19:15 um no there was a there was unless
1:19:17 you're the one that had user you know
1:19:19 six one six one two eight eight four
1:19:22 nine and you changed your name to Cipher
1:19:23 flare
1:19:25 um now we've had young people in here
1:19:26 before they they usually say something
1:19:29 like
1:19:30 um isn't that cute the elderly are
1:19:33 teaching each other how to use computers
1:19:35 or
1:19:36 um when are you gonna trim your nose
1:19:38 hair that was a good one or
1:19:47 the young people are mean you know
1:19:50 because because here's what the young
1:19:52 people young people don't realize you
1:19:54 know we're all gonna die right young
1:19:56 people are still like it's a party
1:19:58 older people like oh yeah [ __ ] it's not
1:20:01 that long now so we're all kind of
1:20:03 chilled out we're just sitting around
1:20:04 going can we just not be douches to each
1:20:06 other and the young people go in trim
1:20:08 your nose here you big old fat [ __ ] so
1:20:12 um you are
1:20:14 the nicest 20-something in here oh this
1:20:17 this is user number so and so all right
1:20:20 Cypher flare so look look what you do
1:20:22 look look at the Improvement you went
1:20:24 from a a a comically generic name to
1:20:28 you've got an avatar you have a really
1:20:30 cool name 9.5 out of 10 and you're
1:20:33 asking like actual questions without
1:20:34 being total douche nozzle so you are you
1:20:39 are a an honorary gen xer
1:20:42 so congratulations for not sucking
1:20:48 hey Mom the old people think I'm cool
1:20:50 that's bad quit now
1:20:54 all right missed you last night so glad
1:20:56 to see you today thank you very much I
1:20:58 appreciate that
1:20:59 [Music]
1:20:59 um
1:21:02 make it great so everyone rubbernecks
1:21:04 the young people just yell Boomer and
1:21:07 leave yeah they do that too
1:21:09 and then and then I'll go like I'm not a
1:21:11 boomer I'm a Gen X and they're like Well
1:21:13 you certainly sound defensive for if
1:21:14 you're Gen X it sounds more like a
1:21:16 boomer to me trim your nose hair
1:21:20 listen
1:21:22 I'm too drunk for young people tonight
1:21:24 I'll just say what I really think
1:21:32 if you were the first time viewer put
1:21:34 one in the comments put two of your
1:21:36 return and three if you're in a regular
1:21:38 that's I like that I like that poll AI
1:21:41 is lying not always many times my
1:21:44 nickname for chat EPT is mansplaining as
1:21:46 a service so it does hallucinate it does
1:21:48 lie and if you get better at prompting
1:21:52 you can make it do that less and then
1:21:54 you can also get better at recognizing
1:21:56 it more the more you do it so if you get
1:21:59 better it gets better
1:22:01 funny how that works
1:22:04 put in your hundred hours see if you
1:22:06 can't get it better
1:22:07 did you show The Voice coder for the
1:22:09 office I just did that
1:22:12 [Music]
1:22:13 did you watch the all-in podcast from
1:22:16 the all in Summit I did not
1:22:19 yeah that's completely Fair take no need
1:22:21 to beat the dead horse here oh yeah yeah
1:22:25 um AI is sugar coating unless you come
1:22:29 correct wait AI is sugar coating unless
1:22:32 you come correct
1:22:35 oh me a UIC I don't know what you mean
1:22:38 what you mean a magic
1:22:42 oh hey Mark I do not know what you mean
1:22:46 a sugar coating unless you come correct
1:22:49 I do not know what you mean
1:22:52 yeah sugar coating unless you come
1:22:54 correct
1:22:56 hey Mark I do not know what you mean
1:23:02 the 27 year old come in bold listen your
1:23:07 27 year old with a [ __ ] game I like
1:23:09 it like you actually are just like
1:23:12 having a conversation and just
1:23:14 like you're living life with Integrity I
1:23:16 ask you what are the 147 names of God
1:23:19 try to get it to tell me AI God's name
1:23:22 yeah well it's it's so it's got first of
1:23:25 all
1:23:26 it's got safety guard rails so it's
1:23:28 going to steer around those
1:23:29 conversations second of all it
1:23:30 hallucinates don't don't try to turn
1:23:33 Chat GPT into a in into Wikipedia
1:23:36 they're not the same thing
1:23:38 what what you should do on my UIC I
1:23:43 don't know how to say your name
1:23:45 is um
1:23:49 study a bit more about how how chat GPT
1:23:51 Works rather than just saying it's bad
1:23:53 because it lies and doesn't do what you
1:23:55 wanted to do understand how it works
1:23:58 what it's good at what it's not good at
1:24:00 if you're trying to actually accomplish
1:24:02 something other than just trying to
1:24:04 stump it
1:24:05 um you can probably get it to do
1:24:07 something good I just lost my light my
1:24:09 light burned out oh no
1:24:12 all right it's probably telling me it's
1:24:13 time to go one of the 147 gods of you
1:24:17 mix shut off my light I'm sure your
1:24:20 screen please which screen
1:24:22 what are you talking about
1:24:25 worm GPT can only be purchased with
1:24:27 crypto and they suggest using Tor yeah
1:24:29 of course because because what are you
1:24:31 gonna do put it on your credit card
1:24:32 before you have it break into the
1:24:34 electric grid
1:24:37 exactly oh worm GPT you dark you dark
1:24:41 Hatters you black Hatters
1:24:43 none of them is okay that we saw
1:24:46 all right I'm down at the bottom now let
1:24:48 me let me answer another two questions
1:24:51 here
1:24:52 Gen X don't Gaff Gen X are basically
1:24:55 traumatized Boomers
1:24:58 well no no Gen X were traumatized by
1:25:03 Boomers
1:25:04 that's why we're bitter
1:25:07 we were told to leave the house
1:25:09 in the morning and not come back until
1:25:11 10 o'clock at night
1:25:15 and we didn't have cell phones
1:25:18 we had to go just like
1:25:20 hunt animals with sticks
1:25:24 [ __ ] dig holes and blow [ __ ] up
1:25:31 we're [ __ ] survivors man
1:25:36 uh who's not gonna let you answer your
1:25:39 question to show you where your
1:25:41 Consciousness has to show Evolution what
1:25:45 oh man you're all philosophical here I
1:25:47 don't quite understand your questions
1:25:49 but it seems like you're pretty
1:25:50 passionate one of him on the East Coast
1:25:52 good night good night Ted all right they
1:25:55 all yelled Boomer
1:25:57 I just answer sooner yeah exactly I'm
1:26:01 old at heart nice nice Cipher flare I
1:26:03 like it
1:26:04 good name change welcome my kids are
1:26:07 millennials they're skydivers and Cloud
1:26:09 engineers
1:26:11 do you mean Cloud Engineers like
1:26:14 Pate working in the cloud or like
1:26:17 skydivers Cloud Engineers up there
1:26:21 um get your water hydration from your
1:26:23 garden hose exactly Clint exactly
1:26:26 exactly all right listen my light burned
1:26:30 out
1:26:31 Ally the AI learning lab is very happy
1:26:33 you're here appreciate you hanging out
1:26:35 tonight
1:26:36 I'm out of here oh may I see a silver
1:26:39 fox
1:26:40 oh cool I have one of each a skydiver
1:26:42 and an engineer that's actually a cool
1:26:44 combo I bet they drive each other
1:26:46 [ __ ] crazy that's awesome Clint good
1:26:49 night chaos generation peace cocklaw
1:26:53 good to see you Joker
1:26:55 Tobias was in here Pete good to see you

1:27:27 Jake
1:27:30 all right
1:27:32 good night everybody
