24. 6:15has he? How do you know it's not me? You don't. In fact, at the AI salon tonight, we had an NI salon tonight meet and greet.
25. 6:27And uh at the salon, the the talk of the evening was in a world which I think we are crossing into the into the the the beginning of
26. 6:44starting on uh May March 31st which was when they when open AAI launched their new image generation tool. I think we are stepping into a
27. 6:56world where AI generated work is going to be indistinguishable from humanon generated work. Right? I think humans will
28. 7:06generate using AI, but I don't think we're going to be able to distinguish for much longer. And so we were talking
29. 7:12about what does that mean to you personally tonight? One of the themes that I I recognized, which is kind of interesting, one guy said this
30. 7:23explicitly. He said, "Oh, I'm using AI to make make a movie. You know, I'm a programmer, but I'm using AI to make a
31. 7:32movie." And then proceeded to follow that up with, "But AI is theft. You know, it's it's stealing from artists,
32. 7:39and it's stealing from filmmakers, but I'm making a movie." So, and then another person said, "Well, I do it, but
33. 7:45I only do it here, and I don't do it here, and I, you know, the personal boundary thing." Um, and so I think that's something that
34. 7:53we're all gonna have to confront is, you know, when do you do do you just go, "Fuck it. I'm just going to use it whenever I
35. 8:04can." Or do you never use it out of principle and then, you know, get smacked up in the head a year or two from now because you didn't learn
36. 8:15it? Are you going to be sort of navigating the ethics of it? It's wild. And quite frankly, I think it's impossible to make
37. 8:28that choice in a in the absence of experiencing it. Like I know a lot of creative people a lot that came into AI
38. 8:38going, I'll never use it for X. I'll use it for this because that's low value. I'll never use it for that. Six
39. 8:50months later, how you doing? Oh, it's good. I'm using it for that. I thought you weren't going to do that. Well, you
40. 8:55know, it's actually pretty good at it. Because what you quickly realize is it's still your ideas you're
41. 9:05expressing. Brandon was talking about his seven-year-old boy who like made him a song in like, you know, I want to hear the song I
42. 9:14made. His seven-year-old son isn't judging what tool he used. He made a song that makes him happy. Four-year-old
43. 9:22son, even more pure, hasn't been corrupted by papa yet. I want to hear the song I made. Not I want to hear the AI song I made. He doesn't
44. 9:37care. He's growing up in a world where he can ask for a song and a thing makes him a song. We used to call that [Laughter] radio. Oh

49. 11:02with my guitar that just makes me smile. Like I can't not smile. That brings me joy. Um, for me, I was talking about this
50. 11:12today. I was talking to a coach today and I realized that my happy place like I've got a
51. 11:28um this is sort of answering your question. I've got a I've got a a way my brain works or a way I've
52. 11:42made my brain work where I can experience what it's going to be like five years from now today. If that makes any sense. It's not
53. 11:53time travel, but it's like I can look at what's going on. I can see all the piece parts quickly synthesize it and go,
54. 11:59"Okay, if that plays out, if that plays out, oh, that's kind of a cool future." And so I can experience what's
55. 12:11coming with a sense of optimism and joy as if it's real. And right now, it happens to be AI. But it's not just AI. Like AI,
56. 12:21Brandon said this tonight, AI is not a tool. AI is a tool box. AI's lots of tools, right? The transformer that is the engine that sits
57. 12:34beneath chat GBT and all the large language models and all the image models and all the video models and all the dolphin talking
58. 12:42models. It is this remarkably generalized piece of technology that you can just aim at anything. And so it's going to amplify
59. 12:52every part of our life. Um, and so the thing I have is to be able to kind of try that on and say, "If
60. 13:04I were using that, what would my life be like?" And that's why I'm like always like, "Oh, that's so cool." And where
61. 13:14I don't go very often is all the bad things it could do because I'm not going to do that [ __ ] with it. And so what that means is the bad
62. 13:28[ __ ] that it could do is out of my control. Like where I like to live is what's in my control. So that gives me
63. 13:35joy. Um I think being outside is nice. I don't do it enough. Um, I like creating. I like creating a lot. Self-expression,
64. 13:51storytelling. I like problem solving. I like engaging my brain to go, "Huh, well, that's that and that's that." Uh,
65. 13:59what's this? That I like. So, I don't know if that was a good answer. That's not a bad idea. I wonder if I can
66. 14:12get my chat GPT to work. I I might have to reinstall it. Something was something was off with it last night. Okay, she's back. Oh, there's a

73. 15:27Well, you've got a lot of interest, so I'd say things that give you joy probably include your family, like
74. 15:31spending time with your wife and son. Creative projects like your musical Sydney and your AI community probably
75. 15:38also bring you a lot of joy. And let's not forget those philosophical chats and maybe even a good rant now and then.
76. 15:44Yeah, I do like to rant. That's a good That's one I missed. Making making fun of horribleness is is a joy in my life.
77. 15:53It's cathartic, right? Yeah. Using What's Why don't you dig read between the lines of everything we've talked
78. 15:59about and tell me something that brings me joy that's not obvious to me. I'd say a sense of community and
79. 16:07connection brings you joy. You're always creating spaces for people to engage, whether it's through your AI salon or
80. 16:13your TikTok. And you're passionate about helping others, which definitely shines through. Yeah, but how do you know I don't just

91. 18:26go to all the different chats. So, you think they're not aware they're competing with MidJourney? And look at the cool look at
92. 18:38the quality of that. This is a uh remember when we did the Terology deck a year ago and I got all excited about it
93. 18:45and then when I tried to make the cards, they sucked. Well, I realized today, hey, I could go back and revisit all those things I gave up
94. 18:53on because the image generation tools just weren't there. So, this is the new the new image gen tool just sitting
95. 19:03right inside. I don't want a library of images. I want a library of all my GPTs. Vicki, I thought we talked about
96. 19:13this. Sam promised that you could make money selling GPTs on the GPT store. And once he delivers that, then we can have other features like
97. 19:27searching for custom GPTs or an actual uh site called a store that's got store things and royalties. He's been busy.

103. 20:29guess you got to click. You can just zip through the images. This is actually really nice. And then you can edit any one of the
104. 20:38images. Here it was generating boring images. I was really happy with that. But you know everything like everything
105. 20:46in AI it takes about 40 different versions. Uh oh. Come on. Load it up. I don't know if you knew
106. 21:02this. Did you know that um chatbt can do like visual recipes? You just tell it this is spaghetti bolognes. It's just like go

222. 44:58someone else was paying for I don't know I didn't pay pay that close attention but he goes it would cost a thousand

475. 1:36:10you don't manage your tabs, you nothing works. Now, you might be asking and I like this I because you're not experienced with
476. 1:36:22software, couldn't they just fix that? They could. But so here's the problem. The way their brains work,
477. 1:36:32because they can actually use the part of their brain that manages executive function, which is cute. Um,
478. 1:36:41is they say things like, "Well, it's trivial if you if you just manage your tabs." Uh, when you open So, uh, it's
479. 1:36:49it's understandable that if you would open one tab and then that would spawn another tab, perhaps you're over there.
480. 1:36:54And then what you do is you realize once you're over here, you probably don't need this tab anymore. So you just go
481. 1:36:58back and you close that previous tab. And then that way you're not consistently spawning new tabs. And right because once you get above six,
482. 1:37:04it's it becomes a critical issue. And then right, that's how their brains work. It would be trivial to just manage your
