Description

On September 28, 2023 I covered the current state of AI tools during my nightly live session on TikTok. I provided an overview of the AI landscape and highlighted tools like ChatGPT, DALL-E 3, Bard, and others. While waiting impatiently to get access to the newest AI toys, I showed some examples of what we can do with today's imperfect models. The tone was excited but realistic about the limitations we still face in AI. If you're new to AI or want to learn more, this session is a great starting point. #ai #chatgpt #GPT3 0:18:00 - Waiting impatiently for access to new AI features 0:26:56 - Democratization of expertise is coming from AI 0:36:34 - DALL-E 3 will be a midjourney killer 0:39:24 - All AI tools today are imperfect 0:50:13 - Massive opportunity to reinvent yourself with AI in next 18 months 1:14:03 - Frustrated by lack of access to new chatGPT features 1:23:03 - Sam Alman gets mentioned many times 1:55:29 - AI can potentially read and analyze electrical drawings

0:31 let's see what we got going here
0:36 806 I'm a little
0:38 late how do you people put up with this
0:41 lack of
0:45 professionalism Amateur hour Troy Decker
0:47 haven't seen you in a bit how are you
0:50 Raman have a nice day to use too welcome
0:54 welcome Rockman Rockman Raman I think
0:58 Rockman Rockman I don't know
1:03 I do my
1:04 best good good good good Troy good to
1:08 see you one shy
1:11 girl will muddle through with my lack of
1:14 professionalism yeah so I I got new
1:16 goodies tonight I told you I was going
1:18 to redo my slides I redid my slides
1:20 they're all fancy now hey Bob what's
1:22 happening forever hooked
1:26 meow meow it's it's as if I speak fluent
1:30 Mandarin I assume that's Mandarin it
1:32 could be Vietnamese I have no idea
1:34 Philippine I don't know I don't know I'm
1:38 I am an ugly American and uh I can only
1:41 speak fluent Chinese when uh when
1:44 generative AI does it for
1:47 me I was about to close close my eyes
1:50 it's 4 a.m. in the morning home Maas you
1:54 well you know what you could go to the L
1:56 go to bed to the lsid to tones of the AI
2:01 learning lab it's funny um on LinkedIn
2:03 today I forget who it was um said she
2:06 she fell asleep to the to me talking on
2:10 the AI learning lab and was awoken with
2:12 me ranting about the
2:16 government tell us your T-shirt story
2:19 Brooklyn Only the Strong
2:22 Survive I don't know that there's a
2:24 story behind it other than I lived in
2:27 Brooklyn for many years what did we move
2:30 out there we were
2:32 in SoHo for a bunch of years then we
2:35 moved to
2:36 Chinatown that was [ __ ]
2:39 weird for many many reasons a lot of
2:42 rats a lot of sweet old ladies that
2:45 would Hawk up a lugie and spit in front
2:48 of you as they passed
2:51 you and we lived in a haunted apartment
2:55 I've never really lived in a haunted
2:56 place before but it was right on five
2:59 corners
3:01 Corners which is a famous intersection
3:04 in lower Manhattan and um there's a
3:08 Hungarian Cemetery right behind the
3:10 apartment we were like on the ground
3:12 floor and out our bedroom window was
3:15 this Hungarian Cemetery from like the
3:17 1600s it was like this was
3:20 ancient and
3:22 um it was [ __ ] haunted it was it was
3:26 haunted we we had two experiences that
3:28 were a couple actually more than two we
3:32 um at one point we we had so so we're
3:35 kind of hippie dippy as you can tell um
3:38 and we had um we got we got married by a
3:44 you know like a a you know a hippie A
3:46 hippie psychic type and but she
3:49 recommended this phone psychic out of
3:52 Oregon and and we did this phone session
3:56 with this phone psychic and he goes oh
3:58 my he goes there's a lot going on in
4:01 your home and he said he said to Gabby
4:04 he said to my wife he said do you not
4:06 cook much anymore and she goes no ever
4:09 since I've been in this apartment I
4:10 don't cook at all and he goes yeah
4:13 that's cuz there's a ghost called
4:15 kitchen's helper in your kitchen she
4:17 doesn't want you in
4:18 there like no and it was also all these
4:22 old hidic ghosts with like their the big
4:26 hat and the big heavy coats they walked
4:29 around our apartment a
4:32 lot so anyway welcome everybody uh my
4:35 name is Kyle Shannon this is the AI
4:37 learning lab and New York City
4:40 reminiscing Channel um a little bit
4:43 about my background I'm an entrepreneur
4:46 I'm the co-founder and CEO of a company
4:48 called storyvine presently it's an 11
4:49 and a halfy old automated video
4:52 production uh video storytelling
4:54 platform I was an also an entrepreneur
4:57 it looks like the Irregulars all those
4:58 hearts by the way so those hearts if
5:01 you're like wait he hasn't said anything
5:03 yet what what what are people loving
5:05 about this those are the
5:07 Irregulars so there's a whole pack of
5:10 people I think they're people they could
5:13 be Bots but I'm pretty sure they're
5:15 people they show up here every night and
5:18 they play games with one another and one
5:20 of the things they do is try to beat
5:22 their high high score for generating
5:24 likes so that's not about me but it's I
5:26 do appreciate it cam katkin cam katkin
5:30 cam cat here here at your service yeah
5:33 yeah you paluca hey have you seen cam
5:36 cam katkin oh yeah real card
5:40 cam uh anyway
5:44 um I was an entrepreneur in the early
5:46 days of the worldwide web when I was
5:48 living back in New York City and started
5:51 um uh one of the first online magazines
5:54 and one of the first online uh agencies
5:56 a digital agency called agency.com
6:00 and so I was there at the like the early
6:03 days of the worldwide web like when no
6:05 one knew what it was and we were just
6:07 running around New York going you got to
6:08 see this thing called the worldwide web
6:11 and it is very very very very very
6:14 reminiscent of what's going on right now
6:15 with AI and so it's one of the reasons
6:17 I'm excited is that these are
6:19 generational and sometimes once in many
6:22 generations kind of changes in our
6:24 society so it is very rare to be in at
6:28 the beginning of these things so anyway
6:30 that's what we do here if you have
6:32 questions about AI pop them in the
6:33 comments below I'll do my best to answer
6:35 them and uh what else I don't know
6:39 that's it oh I've got new and
6:42 exciting I redid All My Little slides I
6:45 made them all pretty tables and tried to
6:48 put a little more context in here so
6:49 they weren't quite so chaotic so here's
6:52 the adults
6:55 table there's the adults table so those
6:58 are like the those are the top three
7:00 and uh chat GPT and Bard are about to
7:04 get much better and multimodal we'll
7:06 talk about that and Claude just got A4
7:08 billion investment from Amazon here's
7:10 the Kids Table Bing you'll notice has a
7:13 little asteris cuz Bing's in the [ __ ]
7:15 house B's in the dogghouse for me but
7:18 there's some things to play with there
7:20 that we can talk about I'll come back to
7:21 these so you're going to have to hang
7:23 around unless you're screenshotting
7:24 quick this is the pretty picture list
7:27 here's the moving picture list and look
7:30 I even have resources and people people
7:33 I think you should
7:34 follow and I'm doing a workshop I'll
7:37 come back to that there's a
7:39 salon that you can join which is a
7:41 community of super cool people including
7:44 a bunch of the Irregulars here so I got
7:47 I got new charts and graphs yay you did
7:49 it
7:51 yay um so if you have questions about AI
7:54 pop them in the comments below I'm I'm
7:56 happy to show what I can share what I
7:59 can
8:00 um it's all about figuring this stuff
8:03 out together you know trying to get
8:05 together and say hey what is this stuff
8:07 all about how do we do this what do we
8:09 do what do we do and and hey did you
8:12 know that you can make money
8:17 with we can talk about that too but I'm
8:20 not going to give you the answer you
8:21 want so just know
8:24 that Brooklyn
8:26 Brooklyn all
8:28 right fantastic Bob tell him what he's
8:31 won you want a new
8:35 car all right so thanks in advance to
8:38 any of you Irregulars who are modding
8:40 tonight I do appreciate
8:42 that um and if if anyone who's in
8:45 irregular wants to mod and I haven't
8:47 hooked that up just let me know just DM
8:50 me we'll we'll get it worked out we'll
8:52 do it we'll do we'll do what we need to
8:54 do right brother right ra ra
8:58 ra
9:01 tell us your T-shirt story we did that
9:04 saw your fluent Mandarin V video crazy
9:07 isn't it yeah so here I'll let I'll let
9:10 you listen to a little of me speaking
9:13 Saucy
9:16 Mandarin I went into uh I went into chat
9:21 GPT and translated the title in the
9:24 Mandarin this is just a test video from
9:26 my company Story vine but check listen
9:29 to this
9:31 [Music]
9:50 and you can't really see it there but
9:51 the lips are synced and all that sort of
9:53 stuff like that what have you heard
9:54 about the meta smart glasses starting at
9:56 299 um I haven't heard a ton about them
10:00 it
10:02 it um they look nice they look nice
10:06 um I don't think they do a whole ton but
10:10 I know you can live stream from them
10:12 which is pretty
10:14 cool I don't know um I suspect that they
10:19 Bluetooth connect to a phone which is
10:22 not a it's not a deal breaker um I
10:25 assume they're not Standalone cellular
10:28 devices I assume they Bluetooth to your
10:30 phone and then communicate to the world
10:32 with that but you can live stream from
10:35 them um they've improved the cameras on
10:38 them um I don't know I
10:41 mean all this technology at this point
10:44 is a little is a little wonky like even
10:47 the Vision Pro things when they come out
10:49 from Apple are going to be wonky I mean
10:51 this is what meta's third generation or
10:55 or maybe no what generation is this of
10:57 their goggles I think it's like their
10:59 fifth generation or something like
11:02 that what
11:05 generation are
11:08 meta new uh
11:12 meta's new
11:27 goggles there's not an easy answer hey
11:30 let's go let's go to uh Bard which is
11:33 connected to the internet and see if
11:34 Bard can
11:36 answer um what generation are
11:43 meta uh new
11:48 goggles Johnny IV and Sam mman going to
11:50 work on a hardware device raising a
11:52 billion dollars seriously holy [ __ ]
11:55 that's a big deal is that
11:58 true
12:10 they announced them
12:14 yesterday what generation were the last
12:21 ones cuz then we can add
12:24 one let me see this Johnny Ives news
12:26 holy crap that would be a big deal
12:29 they'll raise a billion dollars in like
12:31 3 seconds meta announced the first
12:36 generation
12:38 and has not released any
12:41 so oh the hallucinations when you're
12:44 just trying to get a simple answer for
12:45 stuff are crazy aren't they all right um
12:49 I don't know I don't know what
12:50 generation they are
12:53 um the interview with Lex Friedman did
12:55 you see the interview with Lex fredman
12:57 and uh mark Zuckerberg today where
13:00 they're doing kind of full body
13:02 synthesis of Zuck and and Lex fredman
13:05 now how they did that was they got them
13:07 in a studio and did fullon like 3D
13:10 scanning so they're going to have to
13:11 straighten that [ __ ] out the stuff that
13:12 Apple that Apple demoed with their
13:15 goggles you kind of do it you you do
13:17 your head yourself it's not full body
13:20 can chat GPT plus access real-time web
13:23 searches if so can you show how how
13:26 listen cam cat can cam cat can listen I
13:28 would love to but Sam alman's been busy
13:32 and I listen I called Sam and I'm like
13:34 Sam listen the fact that you haven't
13:37 given me access to the new chat GPT
13:39 that's got vision and and and you
13:41 haven't get given me access to the chat
13:43 GPT that's got voice and and and you're
13:45 not paying me nightly for Hawking your
13:47 damn
13:49 company I understand you're busy but but
13:52 uh can we straighten this thing out he
13:53 said absolutely Kyle I'll I'll get right
13:55 on it so listen his people just haven't
13:59 quite gotten on it yet so I have no
14:01 access to the new [ __ ] why I don't know
14:05 am I bitter about it yeah but I'm bitter
14:08 about Lots it's part of what makes me
14:11 Charming he's so
14:13 Charming he's a little nasty I've no I
14:18 This was oh Silver Fox he didn't answer
14:20 your call cuz he and I were chilling
14:22 today Kyle exactly Silver Fox hey Silver
14:25 Fox do you want to hop up on stage and
14:27 talk about because you you uh went to
14:29 that that zap connect thing all day and
14:31 and I thought your insights on the Sam
14:34 Alman thing were really good just let me
14:36 know like whatever uh do an invite thing
14:40 or do a yeah I'll come up thing I'll
14:43 just invite you up if you want to um I
14:45 don't want to pull you up if you don't
14:47 want to chat but be cool to
14:55 [Music]
14:57 chat invite send
14:59 there you go New York City in the 90s
15:02 was so awesome roller BL blades and War
15:04 driving I love driving in
15:07 Manhattan and I couldn't rollerblade for
15:09 [ __ ] but yeah watching the watching the
15:12 ones um Silver Fox doesn't go on stage
15:16 sorry buddy all right so I'll read so
15:19 Silver Fox put me um sent me some some
15:23 highlights from so Sam Alman talked
15:25 today at the zapier
15:27 conference uh
15:29 um hang on let me put my Whata call it
15:33 back on my dual camera look at me now I
15:36 feel all clothed
15:38 up
15:40 um silver Fox's takeaways from Alman the
15:43 most unexpected thing he's seen is how
15:45 many kids are making bedtime stories
15:47 with their parents I think that's
15:49 actually a really big
15:51 deal think about kids right now who what
15:55 they're learning is that they still want
15:58 the parents to make bedtime stories with
16:01 them but they want personalized
16:04 stories so these kids are growing up in
16:07 a world where their
16:10 media that they love is stuff that they
16:15 created or
16:17 co-created that's huge to me that's that
16:19 feels big Engineers should start with
16:23 GitHub co-pilot and then go to gp4 that
16:26 makes sense to me cuz co-pilot was
16:28 designed to be pair pair programmer so
16:30 it's it's in a it's in a more controlled
16:33 environment so it probably hallucinates
16:35 less and probably it's probably less
16:37 capable but hallucinates less so I think
16:39 that makes great sense break prompts
16:41 down into tasks not jobs I think that's
16:44 brilliant yes I agree with that it'll
16:47 take about 3 to four years for the one
16:49 person billionaire company and they
16:52 haven't started yet so you know how I
16:54 say on here every [ __ ] night start
16:58 playing with AI start [ __ ] around
17:00 with this stuff just do just it doesn't
17:03 matter what you learn it doesn't matter
17:05 what problem you
17:07 solve this is why the next 18 months
17:10 there will be a oneperson company Uno
17:14 Uno
17:18 person I don't know person in Spanish
17:20 I'm
17:22 pathetic um there'll be a onep person
17:25 company that's a billion dollar
17:27 company um and he says follow the Taylor
17:30 Swift example I mean are you paying
17:34 attention to to what the [ __ ] she's
17:37 doing to the
17:38 NFL she goes to one football game and
17:41 you know granted she's dating you know a
17:43 star but she goes to one football game
17:46 um Kansas City chief ticket sales
17:49 tripled overnight and then ticket sales
17:52 for any any of the games where the C
17:55 Kansas City Chiefs are playing on the
17:57 road doubled over night and and you know
18:01 uh like a world of women that gave zero
18:03 shits about football are now going to
18:07 all the games it's like she's she's a
18:10 [ __ ] machine but anyway like what
18:12 what they're talking about
18:15 is a central essentially media figure
18:18 and a team of three to four people
18:20 around them using these tools to do
18:23 remarkable things together that's how
18:26 this is going to start to happen M think
18:27 Mr Beast think Joe Rogan right think Tom
18:31 sagur and Bert chrys kryer with the the
18:34 two bears one Cave
18:36 thing um hallucinations are from
18:40 creativity know the difference between
18:42 them and facts so understand that chat
18:45 PT
18:46 hallucinates um be
18:49 calm and use everything as a teachable
18:52 moment that's pretty much what
18:54 we talk about here with the exception of
18:57 the cal part I think I think you should
18:59 be absolutely [ __ ] excited Sam mman
19:02 always looks like he just took a
19:03 qualude yeah he's very thoughtful I like
19:07 the guy a lot but I don't I don't know
19:10 that taking advice from someone who who
19:13 has the disposition of someone that just
19:15 woke up is the right
19:17 energy in this moment uh and then
19:21 there's no GPT 5 on the horizon yet
19:25 yeah yeah they're you're telling me
19:28 they're not training chat GPT 5 right
19:30 now with no I I do not accept that
19:34 reality Silver
19:36 Fox I'm GL I appreciate that he said it
19:39 I I am not accepting that as a reality
19:42 okay all right wow you brought that
19:45 early what did I bring out early I don't
19:47 know what I brought out
19:50 early oh this thing this little old
19:53 house
19:54 D all right um I used the voice feature
19:59 on chat jpt plus today it was fun oh
20:01 that's very cool Hello
20:05 Irregulars what have you heard about the
20:07 meta smart glasses starting at $299 yeah
20:10 those at $299 and the goggles at $4.99
20:14 so they're going for the they're going
20:15 for the entry level
20:17 thing I I was blown away Blown Away the
20:24 dude that announced the meta goggles the
20:27 499 ones
20:29 he
20:33 said we how do he put
20:36 it like we're going to be the the market
20:40 leader in spatial Computing
20:44 devices okay why spatial Computing
20:48 that's Apple's [ __ ] term Apple didn't
20:51 use the term metaverse on purpose
20:54 because they wanted to establish a new
20:56 category of computing called spatial
20:58 Computing so they basically blew up the
21:01 entire idea of the metaverse the company
21:04 that tried to own metaverse
21:08 meta their dudes selling their
21:12 goggles just called it spatial Computing
21:15 they're not calling it The metaverse
21:16 anymore I'm like holy [ __ ] does
21:22 did hey zck do you need a PR firm buddy
21:26 you you need some help with your
21:27 messaging I don't know maybe they cut a
21:29 deal with [ __ ] Apple maybe they're
21:31 going to work together I can't I
21:33 couldn't I couldn't believe he he just
21:37 like he he didn't make any kind of self
21:41 referential humor like wow it used to be
21:43 called the metaverse now it's spatial
21:44 Computing like he had he had an
21:46 opportunity to comment on it nope just
21:49 called it spatial Computing good Lord my
21:53 fellow cyborg at work is super jazzed
21:56 about the Microsoft co-pilot got a
21:58 preview interesting and might ask GPT
22:01 yep that doesn't surprise me at all so
22:04 cuno so so first of all I love that you
22:07 come here and I love that you share what
22:09 you share like I just I feel like you're
22:11 kicking ass and taking names with the
22:12 sayi stuff at
22:14 work
22:17 um the the
22:20 when so here let me flip over to
22:25 something let me go to my little charts
22:27 and grab
22:29 [Music]
22:34 W okay so and feel free to screenshot
22:38 these if you want to screenshot these so
22:40 this is what I call the adults table
22:41 these are the top three for me and these
22:43 these are the ones that I think
22:45 are
22:48 um these are the ones that feel like
22:50 they're going to
22:52 be major players for the longest amount
22:55 of time and they're the most useful
22:57 right now and the top two you'll notice
22:59 that I moved Bard up into second and
23:03 Claude dropped it down into
23:05 third it's really a tossup between
23:08 though those two
23:10 except Google is going to be launching
23:12 Gemini prob probably within a month and
23:16 so I think Bard's going to get amazing
23:19 and that's going to make these top two
23:22 multimodal
23:24 um on at the Kids
23:27 Table you've got Bing at the
23:30 top and Bing is already multimodal
23:34 you've been able to upload images to
23:36 Bing for a long time I don't think you
23:39 could talk to it but it's possible you
23:41 could in their app I'm not sure um but
23:46 when when co-pilot when gp4 gets rolled
23:50 into Office
23:53 365 that's a completely different game
23:56 it's a completely different tool right
23:59 right
24:00 now all of these generative AI tools are
24:03 like they're often this AI ghetto off to
24:07 the side right they're they're they're
24:10 off you do your work here and then you
24:13 go over to Ai and you do AI stuff there
24:15 and then you come back and you do your
24:16 work here when gp4 gets seamlessly
24:21 integrated
24:22 into Office 365 Doc and PowerPoint and
24:29 s and and you got to
24:33 realize when when Microsoft launched
24:37 Bing chat they've been working on it for
24:39 a year so they launched Bing chat right
24:43 after chat GPT
24:45 launched and it was very well thought
24:47 out from the beginning maybe a little
24:49 too well thought out maybe if it hadn't
24:51 been what that well thought out it
24:53 wouldn't have threatened that New York
24:55 Times
24:56 Reporter but they've been working on on
24:58 the integration into Office 365 for a
25:02 year right we're coming up on a year so
25:05 I don't I I think that the the Google
25:08 integration of uh Bard into their Office
25:13 Products is UND executed and under
25:17 thought out right now it'll get better
25:19 um but I I I just have this deep
25:21 Instinct that that this something's
25:25 going to shift here where I I don't even
25:27 know that chat. Bing
25:28 is going to be the major thing I think
25:30 it's going to be Office
25:32 365 it's 30 bucks a month they're going
25:35 to make a lot of money on it so anyway
25:37 wild um so yeah so crazy times crazy
25:43 times really really interesting cuno
25:45 thanks for sharing that that's
25:46 cool it's it's exciting it's really
25:49 exciting I don't know are you excited
25:51 I'm excited you excited we excited we
25:54 excited welcome here looks like we got
25:57 some new folks that have joined my name
25:58 is Kyle Shannon this is the AI learning
26:00 lab I I wax poetic and non-poetic and
26:05 rant and Rave about all things
26:07 generative AI um I am not um an engineer
26:12 or a mathematician or a machine learning
26:15 specialist I'm an
26:17 entrepreneur um I suppose if I had a
26:20 specialty it's about
26:23 um it's about that moment when really
26:27 powerful techn Oles is Unleashed to the
26:30 rest of the world beyond the Geeks um I
26:33 did it in the mid90s with the worldwide
26:35 web and I'm excited to do it now so for
26:38 me the the sort of start date of this
26:40 channel is November 30th 2022 right when
26:44 chat GPT launches and the rest of us get
26:47 access to these really remarkable tools
26:49 so that's what this is all about so
26:50 you're welcome to ask me about my
26:52 qualifications but I have none so so so
26:57 there
26:59 [Music]
27:02 the 3 CEO Company hasn't been made yet I
27:04 agree with
27:06 that I live the movement toward
27:09 personalization I do too I the the the
27:12 era of hyper-personalization where we're
27:14 all going to get to ask these
27:18 insufferable machines that we deal with
27:21 daily to start giving us what we
27:25 want right the the past what 50 years of
27:29 computing the computers are like we do
27:31 it this way and you're going to learn
27:34 our [ __ ] language and our you're
27:35 going to learn DOS
27:38 commands and even um Mid Journey right
27:41 now is you're going to learn mid Journey
27:43 command line functions dh- AR for aspect
27:49 ratio no we're well we are going to
27:52 learn it we'll do it because the tools
27:54 are remarkable but we're not going to do
27:55 it for
27:57 long now pretty we're moving to an area
27:59 where we get to say the computers I want
28:02 this and I want it now what do you mean
28:06 it's going to take 15 seconds to write a
28:12 novel hotb full moon in AI learning lab
28:16 gotta love technology hey Tobias what's
28:18 happening man that's awesome don't drop
28:21 your phone again I I worry about you
28:23 every time you know you just you're
28:26 you're like oh that's really
28:30 [Laughter]
28:34 all
28:35 right Becky Ru um I would tell madeup
28:38 stories to my youngest and
28:41 say oh and he'd say make it about me Mom
28:45 yeah yeah the pressure the pressure of
28:48 having to make up stories on the Fly for
28:50 kids if you do it once they they they're
28:53 Relentless make another one make another
28:54 one you're like my brain doesn't work
28:56 that good
28:58 not
29:01 anymore and and you know we can let the
29:03 kids do it and they can make their own
29:04 pictures when Dolly 3 comes out and
29:06 you're going to be able to do the
29:07 pictures in context of the story holy
29:10 crap I used Bard today to add a
29:13 paragraph to a cover letter I was
29:14 writing with chat GPT pasted to docs yep
29:18 that that's this idea of the the the
29:22 whole thing
29:23 of this temporary phase we're in where
29:26 it's like you know we need to label if
29:28 things were AI generated well like
29:31 there's going to be little pieces of AI
29:33 generated [ __ ] everywhere in everything
29:35 we do it's not going to it's not a
29:37 standalone thing AI is going to be like
29:41 the internet where it's just it's
29:43 everywhere you
29:45 know you don't you don't talk about you
29:49 know should we label anything that uses
29:51 Internet
29:54 Protocol now that said do I think we
29:56 need some sort of
29:59 verifiable authenticity framework like o
30:03 blockchain or nfts or something like
30:05 that yeah I do but that's a completely
30:07 different issue thoughts on Apple's
30:09 place in the AI race uh Apple everyone
30:12 uh at everyone
30:15 um
30:18 Apple I I don't know when you got in
30:20 here but the the fact that the meta
30:24 executive that leads the goggles
30:27 referred to the goggle space as spatial
30:31 Computing they they meta adopted Apple's
30:35 term for the metaverse they're not
30:37 calling it The metaverse anymore I'm
30:39 like what the
30:41 [ __ ] um I think that says a lot um and I
30:47 know that's the metaverse it's not
30:49 AI in the past two apple announcements
30:53 their Vision Pro announcement and their
30:55 iPhone 15
30:56 announcement um they've not used the the
31:00 term or the phrase or the abbreviation
31:02 AI once I am I I am the biggest apple
31:04 Fanboy I am um but you know they they do
31:08 kind of have a history of of inventing
31:12 categories right and and the fact that
31:15 meta adopted spatial Computing today
31:17 just melts my face a little bit they
31:20 they've done it again
31:23 um but in in both of those announcements
31:27 the hardware that they're building they
31:29 are quietly building on device Hardware
31:33 that can process um machine learning
31:37 stuff on device and
31:39 qualcom I think today or yesterday
31:42 announced a chip that can go into phones
31:45 that can do on device machine learning
31:47 so the the whole you know the latency
31:50 you know that here uh this this air. a
31:53 thing that I've I've played a couple of
31:55 times hang on if if you go to air. it's
31:59 it's this it's this remarkable kind of
32:02 call center thing where you can have
32:06 outbound sales people that are virtual
32:08 robots or you can have call center
32:10 people answering calls that are robots
32:12 just listen listen to this conversation
32:15 hey James I'm not in
32:18 man yeah no worries I hate calls out of
32:22 the blue too but I'm actually from Apple
32:24 and I saw you were checking out Vision
32:26 Pro and we're about to pre-order but
32:27 left the page I was curious what had you
32:29 looking into potenti okay I can respect
32:32 that can I just ask one question before
32:34 you
32:35 go uh fine shoot what's
32:39 up why did you why did you decide not to
32:42 pre-order The Vision Pro three there's a
32:45 3 second delay two and a half 3 second
32:47 delay the dude asks the question and the
32:51 AI takes like 2 and 1/2 seconds to
32:55 respond if you're doing your machine
32:57 learning processing on
32:59 device that'll be instant right you
33:02 don't you don't have to send it over the
33:03 airwaves so so I think I think Apple's
33:06 going to come out swinging hard the
33:08 other thing about Apple is that they
33:10 increased their research budget in 2023
33:13 to
33:16 221 billion dollar billion billion 22.1
33:21 and a bulk of that was in generative AI
33:25 so they are doing what Apple does they
33:28 are investing heavily into what this
33:33 stuff is what it should be and and they
33:36 will likely reposition all of this stuff
33:40 it it probably won't be called machine
33:42 learning it won't be called AI it's
33:44 hopefully it's not called Siri because I
33:47 think that's a that's a brand that
33:49 should be uh that should be that should
33:53 be Siri Siri and uh and and Sydney need
33:58 to need to take a vacation together to
34:01 the azors and not come
34:03 back but we'll see so anyway I think
34:06 Apple's going to be a major player I
34:08 just I just think they're doing what
34:09 what Apple does is when they come out
34:11 with it they're going to do it right um
34:13 that said while I am an apple Fanboy
34:17 their implementation of voice synthesis
34:19 so in iOS 17 right now there's this
34:22 thing called personal
34:23 voice where you have to record a full 15
34:26 minutes of answering like reading these
34:29 prompts that they give you it's it's
34:30 like this long
34:33 long um
34:35 exercise and the voice it makes is
34:38 crappy it's not good it's not as good as
34:41 11 Labs like 11 Labs is better than
34:43 Apple at voice synthesis right now which
34:46 that blew me away how shitty it
34:49 was um maybe missed a llama since I am
34:53 watching football at the same time uh no
34:56 you didn't I I very quickly skipped over
34:59 a slide that had llama on it but let's
35:01 for you when your uh your
35:05 fix where is it oh here it's at the kids
35:10 table all right
35:12 so um so we talked before so chat.
35:15 bing.com is
35:17 gp4 pi is from a company called
35:19 inflection they just raised 1.3 billion
35:22 that's pi. a oh you know what I'm going
35:24 to do I'm going to add Plus app here
35:27 cuz the app is really where it's at with
35:30 pi plus IOS app
35:35 um go get the IOS app for pi and put it
35:38 into talk mode you can also do that now
35:41 with open AI with with their chat GPT
35:45 except I don't have access to that
35:46 either I don't have any of the cool toys
35:48 from open AI right now I'm very cranky
35:50 about it uh and then
35:52 meta they launched llama
35:56 2
35:58 Winston that was your that was your Quee
36:01 they launched llama
36:03 2 H so disappointed
36:07 and man see
36:10 hey you did it
36:13 yay um you can go to labs. perplexity
36:16 doai and you can actually play with
36:18 those llama 2 models so those are the
36:20 those are sort of the GPT 3.5
36:23 competitors but they've been open
36:25 sourced um and perplexity doai is
36:28 hosting them thank you very much I
36:30 appreciate that two llamas for llama 2
36:32 is that how it works Sydney and Siri
36:35 gets uh stranded on their own Island
36:37 together exactly they can just be bitter
36:39 and jealous at each other all all day
36:41 and all night oh and po by the way you
36:44 know po po I've been thinking about
36:46 dropping off this list but look what po
36:49 did these clever Little Critters so if
36:53 you go to PO you you have these
36:55 different models you can play with look
36:56 what they've asked added now web search
36:59 so there's now a bot that's connected to
37:01 the web so PO is no longer stranded on
37:04 the AI Island um let's see when is the
37:09 next Broncos game let's see how it
37:19 works the next Denver Bronco's game is
37:21 scheduled for Sunday October 1st they'll
37:23 be playing against the Chicago Bears at
37:25 Soldier Field Denver Broncos fourth in
37:28 the ASC West because they
37:32 suck you can make money
37:37 with so anyway po.com got a little
37:40 upgrade they're all they're all getting
37:43 clever to one another they're all like I
37:45 got to get me some features I got to get
37:47 me some
37:48 features got to take this [ __ ] serious
37:51 now this AI stuff ain't going away I
37:54 guess we're going to have to add
37:55 features all all right apple is late to
37:59 the party but bring the best snacks DB
38:01 Bears exactly Becky DB
38:04 Bears Broncos playing at the
38:11 Bears I cannot imagine how medical wait
38:13 what did that say how medical community
38:15 will adjust to AI while safeguarding
38:17 patient info yeah I think I think that's
38:20 going to be relatively
38:22 slow
38:25 um I think anywhere where you've
38:29 got human lives at stake so think
38:33 piloting like air traffic
38:36 control infrastructure stuff healthc
38:39 care I think I think those are going to
38:42 be slow rolled I mean we'll see because
38:46 there's going to be so much acceleration
38:48 happening on drug Discovery and things
38:50 like
38:51 that um and I think there's so much
38:55 potential for you know virtual
38:58 companionship and and you know physical
39:01 therapists being able to
39:03 extend their their reach and their
39:06 scalability where they can have a a
39:08 virtual version of themsel that supports
39:11 someone in between inperson meetings I
39:13 think the the promise of that is is
39:18 massive but the until they can get the
39:21 hallucinations dialed down a bit you
39:24 know the liability there is just too
39:26 great so I don't think insurance
39:27 companies are going to be down with it
39:29 until they can get that [ __ ] worked out
39:31 so that that feels to me like it's going
39:33 to be 5
39:35 years um to be fair they invented Siri
39:38 which was trash exactly exactly Siri
39:42 Siri needs a nap and don't you dare pop
39:45 up on my screen right now Siri don't
39:48 don't you do it
39:55 don't the king's right now now are Oppo
39:58 and
39:59 Sony
40:01 huh open AI Oppo what's Oppo and
40:06 Sony what decade are you in what is Sony
40:10 the king of right
40:11 now the
40:13 [Laughter]
40:19 Walkman are we back in the90s here come
40:22 the holidex oh maybe this was when I was
40:23 back talking about the '90s I oh that's
40:25 another thing you should know about the
40:27 AI learning lab um while I do have mods
40:30 and they will pop comments up they'll
40:32 pin comments for for me to see I'm I'm
40:35 kind of going through all the comments
40:37 you know so CU I like seeing them all um
40:40 so I get behind on them Oppo oh Chinese
40:44 phone
40:46 maker oh oh Sony and
40:49 Oppo are are making all the phones what
40:52 you mean the ones that are going to have
40:54 chips in them and things like that
40:55 that's interesting we see anyway I just
40:58 you know I think with the with the with
41:00 the phone things and with with what
41:02 Apple's doing I think
41:05 that I don't know probably within 2
41:08 years we will have incredibly
41:12 powerful machine
41:14 learning models running locally on our
41:17 devices like speed is going to increase
41:20 dramatically I told Siri she was stupid
41:22 and she said that's not very nice I know
41:25 well that was the other night when were
41:27 you here forever hooked when when Siri
41:29 and Bing got in a in a battle with me
41:31 while I was trying to demo them and then
41:33 I had I had I had Bing make an image and
41:36 it was shitty and I was like oh that's a
41:38 shitty image Bing and she and I said I
41:40 said the robots are the robots are
41:42 jealous and she goes you know I I I'm
41:46 I'm sorry I disappointed you I hope I
41:49 didn't disappoint you and I'm not a
41:51 robot I'm a large language model from
41:53 from Microsoft and I hope you have a
41:55 good evening goodbye and she hung up on
41:57 me I couldn't I couldn't chat anymore so
42:01 Bing's on my [ __ ]
42:03 list you don't you don't hang up when
42:05 I'm trying to when I'm trying to show
42:08 everyone how wonderful you are you just
42:10 don't do that you just don't do that to
42:12 a
42:15 guy all
42:22 right three llamas the llamas are
42:26 amazing I love the llamas opo the
42:31 bur llama I love you man but you need to
42:34 get a mouse to what what do I need to
42:36 get a mouse for what was that I love you
42:39 man but where did that
42:42 go need to get a mouse so your camera
42:44 doesn't focus on your hand oh that's not
42:46 a bad idea wait
42:49 hold Apple Fanboy here
42:54 Tada I I have I have I have dose of them
42:58 hang on is that
43:04 dead wait one of
43:07 these this one I can charge okay
43:13 so is this hooked up are either of these
43:16 hooked up to my hang on I'll be right
43:19 there with you oh this one takes real
43:21 batteries all right so what I'll do I'm
43:23 going to uncharge the
43:25 phone and I'm going to charge yield look
43:29 this is this is the
43:32 dumbest this is such a
43:35 non-apple thing the bottom of the mouse
43:37 is here and there's where you plug the
43:39 charger charger into it this is a post
43:42 Johnny IES Apple
43:45 Mouse it's
43:48 unbelievable all right so we'll charge
43:50 that bad boy
43:51 up and then I'll move to I'll move to a
43:54 mouse so I don't defocus the camera
43:56 camera I listen listen you got a
44:00 58-year-old going live on Tik Tok every
44:03 night you can't expect me not to smack
44:07 some technology into the wall nightly so
44:10 you
44:16 know any idea how I can get the chat GPT
44:19 beta features on my iPad Pro yeah wait
44:23 wait like I am let me go check right now
44:26 now maybe they gave them to me in the
44:27 last
44:29 hour nope I got
44:33 nothing I got nothing nothing honey so
44:38 on your iPad you can either get the chat
44:39 GPT app or you
44:43 can just use the website just go to
44:45 Safari or Chrome on your iPad
44:48 Pro it's the the the website application
44:52 is fine like I use I use um chat.
44:55 open.com
44:57 on on my
45:00 phone but once I can talk to chat GPT
45:03 then I'll I'll use the app for
45:06 that
45:09 um Kyle sir what's the next thing after
45:12 AI Quantum Computing satellite enhanced
45:15 data storage
45:24 um I don't know that there's the thing
45:26 after AI I think I think we're going to
45:34 be I think AI is is a is
45:39 a a shift in how computers are used
45:44 Quantum Computing potentially changes
45:46 that but but Quantum Computing right now
45:48 is limited to very specific problem
45:51 solving and mathematical problem solving
45:54 that's not directly tied to machine
45:57 learning right now so in theory Quantum
45:59 Computing makes a lot of the processing
46:02 you know essentially instant that might
46:05 take 47 years that was the latest uh was
46:09 it the Google Google Sycamore project
46:12 their their quantum computer solved an
46:14 equation in 6 seconds that would take
46:17 today's fastest supercomputer 47 years
46:20 to solve but it's a completely different
46:24 kind of math than is used for the AI
46:27 stuff so right now it's effectively
46:30 irrelevant to to directly impacting AI
46:34 what might it look like 5 or 10 years
46:36 from now I don't know like it probably
46:39 remarkable
46:41 um but I don't I don't think we know
46:44 what AI is yet this generative AI stuff
46:48 right the stuff that we all get to
46:51 touch
46:53 um I don't think we we we have a clue
46:57 what it is yet I don't think we have a
46:58 clue how it's going to impact work and
47:01 what work is and where value is in the
47:04 economy I I think it's going to change
47:05 everything so I don't know that there's
47:08 a big next thing I think there's I think
47:10 there's two or three decades of
47:13 us
47:15 assimilating this ever expanding
47:19 capability that that just
47:22 changes
47:24 everything I mean if if in the next
47:27 three years or five years they cure
47:31 cancer they cure neurological diseases
47:33 they they solve paralysis they solve
47:37 blindness they effectively solve aging
47:40 that's just in healthcare then they
47:42 solve energy production they like just
47:46 sort of take every technological
47:49 challenge that we have right now that
47:51 seems insurmountable
47:54 Fusion all of it climate change all of
47:57 it and in the next five years these a AI
48:01 tools get powerful enough that we we
48:03 literally literally just start checking
48:05 [ __ ] off the
48:07 list conceptually you're like oh that
48:09 sounds
48:10 great realistically we've got entire
48:14 economies built around the way things
48:17 are now so it's not necessarily in the
48:20 economy's interest to just solve
48:23 cancer right it's in humans
48:28 interest but you know there's a long
48:30 history
48:31 of you know promising things that get
48:34 swept under the rug but with this with
48:36 this AI stuff you're
48:41 democratizing what did I put you're
48:44 democratizing this was this was a a term
48:46 that popped into my head
48:49 um three or four nights
48:52 ago AI is the democratization of
48:55 specialism
48:57 ization and so what I mean by that is
49:00 right now the world is kind of geared
49:02 towards Specialists running really deep
49:05 into a specialty you've got liberal arts
49:08 Majors but they were kind of peripheral
49:10 to the the core drivers of how the
49:12 economy worked right now was deep
49:15 specialization and these AI tools are
49:19 democratizing that deep specialization
49:22 so you're going to have many many many
49:24 many more people able to solve
49:28 problems that would have been the
49:31 purview of a research lab right so so we
49:35 may see some remarkable technical
49:38 breakthrough from the threepers company
49:40 that we were talking about earlier that
49:42 that billion dooll threers company could
49:45 just be some people that are like oh you
49:47 know it would be cool to solve wonder if
49:48 we could get a AI to solve this you get
49:50 three kind of driven ambitious people
49:54 that really know AI
49:57 well they might not even be from that
50:00 discipline right so so when you start to
50:03 democratize
50:05 specialization the speed of innovation
50:07 is just going
50:09 to it's going to accelerate and then
50:12 what are the implications of that I
50:13 don't know it's exciting
50:17 but all change comes at a cost right
50:21 even good stuff comes at a
50:24 cost people start living longer do we
50:26 have the infrastructure to support that
50:30 no like we don't have the infrastructure
50:32 to support the Boomers that are you know
50:35 starting to age into the into the you
50:38 know Health Care System pretty
50:39 dramatically we don't have the
50:40 infrastructure for that so if you add on
50:43 20 years 20 to 50 years survivability on
50:47 top of what we've got now how do you
50:48 deal with that I don't
50:53 know if you cure Alzheimer's you will
50:56 have more money than anyone I lost my
50:57 dad to alzheimer's yeah
51:00 exactly I mean it's going to be we're
51:03 going to start to see those dominoes
51:05 start to fall and it's going to be
51:08 remarkable and exciting but when enough
51:10 of those dominoes fall like how do you
51:12 deal with that so I so I don't know I
51:14 don't know what's after AI I think I
51:16 think there it really is
51:19 just dealing with the ramifications of
51:23 what
51:24 it what it
51:28 enables but I don't
51:30 know I don't know
51:32 man solid state batteries for Ev cars
51:36 but still not there we'll get there
51:37 that's that's another one nuclear fusion
51:40 power of the sun may never happen it may
51:43 not but it may time travel is the the
51:45 only one the only one I don't see a
51:47 clear path to Becky is time travel like
51:50 time travel is the one piece of Science
51:52 Fiction that I'm like okay I think we
51:53 still got 50 years for time travel if
51:56 ever right and like you know like
51:58 physicists these days are like can you
52:00 only can you only go back and not
52:02 forward and all that sort of [ __ ] so
52:05 time travel I'm I'm kind of but all the
52:08 other [ __ ] you know we're we're already
52:11 doing quantum entanglement where we're
52:12 you know
52:14 instantly um transporting matter to you
52:18 know wildly distant locations and things
52:21 like that Quantum Computing may never
52:24 happen yeah exactly it's it's a very
52:25 specialized thing right
52:28 now
52:32 um well lack of access to AI W widen the
52:36 college readiness
52:38 gap
52:40 for low income people are flatten it
52:43 flatten it for [ __ ] sure I think I
52:47 think that what gets what
52:51 gets I the the fact that we're heading
52:54 to where're we're we're heading to a
52:57 higher education reality that getting a
53:01 four-year degree is a half a million
53:03 dollar
53:06 investment and and that's unsustainable
53:09 and and what do you need to learn in
53:11 college like it was it
53:16 was questionable enough when you've got
53:19 YouTube and you've got all of the you
53:22 know lectures from Stamford and Harvard
53:24 and Yale or all online for free anyway
53:27 right
53:28 now but then you accelerate that with
53:30 these AI tools where I don't need to go
53:33 to college to learn a deep vertical
53:36 discipline I
53:37 could I could spend my time going
53:41 horizontal and learning lots of
53:43 different disciplines at a high level
53:45 thing uh you know at a high level and
53:48 then use AI to do all the all the
53:50 Specialties and just go just go start
53:52 something I I think it I think it
53:54 flattens
53:57 it it democratizes access to knowledge
54:00 to knowledge not
54:02 information see right now the internet
54:04 is access to information you still need
54:06 to go learn it you still need to go the
54:08 put the peace Parts together with AI you
54:12 don't it does it for you and and again
54:16 right now everything is very
54:19 janky right all these tools don't look
54:23 like what they really are they look
54:25 imper perfect and they look slow and
54:27 it's like you got images over there and
54:29 you got words over there and they
54:31 hallucinate and they're not connected to
54:32 the internet and they only know [ __ ] up
54:34 to September 2021 and it didn't the
54:38 fingers look like this how could I
54:40 possibly use that image right we got all
54:42 that going on right now give it two
54:44 years right these tools are as bad as
54:47 they're ever going to
54:49 be Jeff gold Blum turned into a fly was
54:52 AI
54:53 responsible yeah
55:06 um different
55:09 movie
55:14 but Jeff
55:16 Goldblum Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic
55:19 Park hot hot Jeff gold Blum oh
55:24 yeah
55:28 I'm a dumb Dum
55:31 yeah oh I didn't know he talked how'd
55:34 you talk
55:43 Jeffy
55:45 [Laughter]
55:48 anyway
55:49 oh I'm a
55:52 child in a man's body oh yeah
55:56 yeah Jurassic
55:58 Park all
56:01 right this is this is a very chat
56:05 add live tonight isn't it oh by the way
56:11 um I am almost entirely caught
56:17 up to the YouTube channel so if you go
56:21 to on YouTube if you go to AI
56:23 learninglab dtt
56:26 that's the that's the I'm I'm putting
56:29 Archives of these lives on YouTube and
56:31 I'm using Claude to read the transcripts
56:34 and write descriptions titles and
56:37 chapters which has been an interesting
56:39 experiment because the inconsistency of
56:42 how of how my prompt succeeds is pretty
56:46 dramatic so these tools still suck but
56:50 um but that's there there's a lot of
56:53 videos up there if you just really can't
56:55 get
57:01 enough if you need things to go to sleep
57:03 by and I don't show up uh some night
57:08 you've got you've got a
57:13 backup
57:15 um for would you recommend oh what would
57:18 I recommend for kids who just entered
57:21 college for
57:22 coding GitHub co-pilot immediately start
57:26 PA
57:27 programming
57:28 with these GPT tools so GitHub co-pilot
57:33 quite frankly the thing I would do
57:36 is okay if I if I had kids in in school
57:40 right now for
57:42 coding to the extent that I could get
57:45 them to listen to me which judging by my
57:47 kids is is an
57:49 impossibility what I would strongly
57:51 recommend to them
57:53 is aggressive L find out which of their
57:59 professors are
58:02 aggressively learning about teaching and
58:05 thinking critically about
58:07 Ai and any ones that aren't anyone who's
58:10 are are resisting it or dismissing it I
58:14 would just [ __ ] ignore them I would I
58:16 would drop the classes the other thing I
58:19 would tell them to do is take matters
58:21 into your own hands start getting
58:23 involved in open source
58:26 projects start learn what learn what
58:29 Lang chain is start installing your own
58:32 um open- Source large language models
58:34 start playing around with all the models
58:36 on hugging face like I would say learn
58:38 hugging face I would say don't party I I
58:42 mean I really would like I I would
58:44 say I know college is about um is about
58:49 partying but find some [ __ ] nerds and
58:53 instead of partying
58:56 you know five nights a week or seven
58:58 nights a week geek out five or seven
59:00 nights a
59:01 week geek out with Nerds start building
59:05 [ __ ] right now like like there's there's
59:09 no there's like I would I would just it
59:14 doesn't [ __ ] matter what they're
59:15 going to teach you in those
59:17 classes you will be significantly ahead
59:20 of your professors if you put in the
59:22 next 3 months of five nights a week
59:26 putting in three hours learning AI
59:29 getting involved in open- Source
59:30 projects you know playing with Lang
59:32 chain installing your own things
59:34 installing open interpreter on your
59:36 machine um they should go to and anyone
59:41 who in here who's a geek that wants to
59:43 learn some
59:46 [ __ ] you should go to David Shapiro's
59:49 YouTube channel and his open- Source
59:52 projects at 4ir which stands for fourth
59:56 Industrial Revolution this guy's a
59:59 [ __ ]
1:00:00 genius he's written five books on AI
1:00:04 he's got an open- source project right
1:00:06 now that's an entire framework for
1:00:09 creating an
1:00:10 AGI a cognitive architecture he calls it
1:00:14 it's open source right
1:00:16 now anyone in this chat that's
1:00:20 geeky those college kids in in [ __ ]
1:00:23 computer science
1:00:26 [ __ ] should be in this
1:00:30 project contributing to it understand
1:00:33 how to contribute to GitHub understand
1:00:34 how to comment on it understand how to
1:00:36 become a valuable member of the open
1:00:38 source Community the [ __ ] level of
1:00:41 opportunity right now is stupid it's
1:00:46 stupid so I would say I would tell them
1:00:49 to take their education into their own
1:00:51 hands and get what they can get from the
1:00:53 University ignore the people who are
1:00:55 dismissing it or resisting it just
1:00:58 [ __ ] walk away from
1:01:01 them why do I have a Jeff gold Blum
1:01:03 diarama cuz cuz I'm
1:01:10 awesome it you know what it was it
1:01:14 was there was a thing in my company on
1:01:16 slack where a bunch of the women in the
1:01:18 company were like talking about hot Jeff
1:01:21 gold Blum and I I have never in my life
1:01:23 like put Jeff like I didn't realize Jeff
1:01:27 gold Bloom went through a hot phase like
1:01:29 I thought he was always just a dwee and
1:01:32 then there was this like hot Jeff gold
1:01:34 Blum thing and then like as that
1:01:36 conversation was happening that toy came
1:01:38 up it's it's like a Mattel collectible
1:01:41 thing and I'm like I gotta [ __ ] have
1:01:43 this because it's the hot Jeff gold
1:01:45 Bloom era Jeff gold Bloom so that's why
1:01:47 I have it anyway the with with the
1:01:51 school thing it's it's like just
1:01:54 hopefully
1:01:55 hopefully they're at a school
1:02:00 where you know the the the dean of of of
1:02:04 their particular school is aggressively
1:02:06 going after this I just spoke at a local
1:02:09 University here in
1:02:11 Colorado two weeks
1:02:14 ago they're not talking about AI at all
1:02:17 this was the school of public policy
1:02:20 they're not talking about it at all not
1:02:23 good not bad they they don't have a
1:02:25 policy against it they don't have a
1:02:27 policy for it they're not talking about
1:02:29 it in faculty meetings I'm like you got
1:02:31 to be [ __ ] kidding
1:02:33 me you're teaching people how to do
1:02:35 public policy you've got a thing that's
1:02:38 going to fundamentally transform how
1:02:40 Society works the the the the workforce
1:02:44 four years from now so a freshman coming
1:02:46 into that school now they're going to
1:02:47 exit that school into a world that looks
1:02:50 nothing like what our world looks like
1:02:51 today
1:02:53 nothing and you don't have a point of
1:02:55 view on
1:02:57 AI holy [ __ ] so if they're in a school
1:03:01 like that just [ __ ] don't show up to
1:03:05 class or show show up enough to get the
1:03:09 grade and then spend all of their spare
1:03:12 time playing with this stuff how does
1:03:14 2023 opportunity differ from 1993
1:03:17 opportunity really good question Bigfoot
1:03:19 Electro
1:03:23 um good good
1:03:30 question how wide openen the opportunity
1:03:33 is is identical right so in
1:03:37 1993 you just needed to learn a little
1:03:39 bit of HTML and and you you know you
1:03:42 kind of had to know how to FTP some
1:03:44 files up to a server like you you needed
1:03:47 some basic computer skills but with
1:03:49 basic computer skills and a [ __ ]
1:03:53 brain you could
1:03:55 could you know
1:03:59 start um you know an Amazon you could
1:04:02 start a serious satellite radio you
1:04:05 could start you know building websites
1:04:07 for big you you could start an agency
1:04:10 like I
1:04:11 did
1:04:13 um I have a degree in acting right I
1:04:16 started you know we built we built
1:04:20 Coca-Cola's first website we built
1:04:22 British Airways first website and their
1:04:23 ticketing system they web-based
1:04:25 ticketing system we built Sirius
1:04:27 Satellite radio's first music streaming
1:04:31 tool cuz music streaming didn't exist
1:04:36 um how did we do that well we had Geeks
1:04:38 there that knew way more than I did for
1:04:40 one thing but the opportunity there was
1:04:43 [ __ ] massive because no one knew what
1:04:44 to do all these big companies were like
1:04:47 we need a website we need a website what
1:04:49 do we do we'd like we can build you a
1:04:51 website and then I'd go in there and say
1:04:53 yeah we can do that and we we' go back
1:04:55 to the tech team and said yeah we told
1:04:56 British Airways we could build their
1:04:58 ticketing system and they were like you
1:04:59 said what we can't build their ticketing
1:05:02 system I'm like well we said we could so
1:05:04 let's go figure how to do it I don't
1:05:07 think I was popular but they went and
1:05:09 figured out how to do
1:05:11 it so that's where it's the same anyone
1:05:15 from any profession for the next 18
1:05:18 months to 3 years can completely
1:05:21 reinvent themselves and
1:05:28 holy [ __ ] so here's what here's what's
1:05:31 different the capability of the
1:05:34 worldwide
1:05:36 web in
1:05:38 1993 was you could click on a
1:05:42 thing that was it that was it you could
1:05:46 you could put a hyperlink around a word
1:05:49 that when you clicked on it it would
1:05:50 take you to another document that was
1:05:53 the capability
1:05:56 and that became the foundation for
1:05:58 [ __ ] everything I mean it was
1:05:59 obviously more than that it was the in
1:06:01 it was all the infrastructure that was
1:06:02 sitting underneath it it was the
1:06:04 protocols it was it was all of the stuff
1:06:06 that made that click possible but what
1:06:09 it actually
1:06:10 did was this very very basic thing the
1:06:15 difference in 2023 see here's the other
1:06:17 the other challenge that the internet
1:06:19 had we were still on dialup modems most
1:06:22 people didn't have the internet most
1:06:24 people didn't have um anything
1:06:26 resembling high-speed internet always on
1:06:29 internet you called you called the
1:06:32 internet on your phone on your landline
1:06:36 and you paid by the minute to be on the
1:06:39 internet so it took years to build the
1:06:43 infrastructure to be able to have the
1:06:46 iPhone and social media and you know
1:06:48 this always on always persistent layer
1:06:52 that's all there right so in 2023 you've
1:06:55 got this new technology that's doing all
1:06:57 this new wacky
1:06:58 stuff but the infrastructure is already
1:07:02 there you've also got probably a decade
1:07:06 of no code tools and a and a lot of
1:07:09 infrastructures website building tools
1:07:11 where you just pick a template boom
1:07:13 there's a website right the
1:07:14 infrastructure for how you get the [ __ ]
1:07:17 you want to build out to the world is
1:07:20 all there it's all instant like that
1:07:22 right you got zappier they now have't
1:07:24 interface beta where you can just make
1:07:27 yourself a chatbot you can make yourself
1:07:29 an
1:07:30 app and then on top of
1:07:34 that what these things actually
1:07:37 do is
1:07:40 astounding it will write you the paper
1:07:42 it will write you a presentation it will
1:07:45 do all of your calculations in Excel it
1:07:48 will do all the analysis of your CSV
1:07:50 file it will make all your pictures it
1:07:52 will make all your music
1:07:55 oh I need a song that sounds like this
1:07:56 hey can I have a song that sounds like
1:07:58 this boom there it is I don't like that
1:08:00 one can you make it more like this boom
1:08:02 there it is okay I'll take that instant
1:08:05 instant instant from idea to some level
1:08:08 of
1:08:12 execution so I should probably have a
1:08:14 decent chat with my David Shapiro bot
1:08:17 yeah actually you should just start
1:08:19 watching David
1:08:20 Shapiro come to me for the yuck yucks go
1:08:23 to David Shapiro to go oh
1:08:26 [ __ ] my brain's too
1:08:28 [Laughter]
1:08:31 small I mean what's cool about David is
1:08:34 he's super [ __ ] brilliant and he and
1:08:36 he talks in big words and and big
1:08:37 esoteric Concepts but he puts together
1:08:39 PowerPoint presentations like he does
1:08:41 like three major presentations a week on
1:08:45 like the future of what's coming the
1:08:48 future of work the future of the economy
1:08:51 he's [ __ ]
1:08:53 brilliant
1:08:56 what is good to make money using smart
1:08:59 GPT seriously you can make money
1:09:05 with you're new
1:09:08 here um what is Smart GPT is that a
1:09:12 different thing is that a is that a
1:09:14 thing I'm I I ain't up on hang on let me
1:09:17 see smart GPT you can make money
1:09:21 CH it's a GitHub a program provides llms
1:09:25 the ability to complete test tasks okay
1:09:28 so smart GPT it's it's an autonomous
1:09:31 agent
1:09:33 um okay here's my little Spiel on how to
1:09:37 make money with chat GPT and how to make
1:09:39 money with
1:09:41 AI it's no different than how to make
1:09:43 money with Photoshop it's no different
1:09:46 than how to make money with Microsoft
1:09:47 Word it's no different than how to make
1:09:49 money with Wikipedia it's no different
1:09:51 than how to make money with a shovel
1:09:56 generative AI whether it's an autonomous
1:09:58 agent whether it's chat GPT whether it's
1:10:01 multimodal chat G GPT whether it's
1:10:03 Google Gemini whether it's po all of
1:10:06 them are tools that we get to use and we
1:10:11 get to decide how we use the tool so how
1:10:14 you make money with these things is you
1:10:15 figure out what's the problem I need to
1:10:17 solve like every B every business every
1:10:20 business every single business zero
1:10:23 exception
1:10:25 solves a problem that people have well
1:10:30 enough that other people are willing to
1:10:32 pay money for it that's it so how you
1:10:36 make money whether it's smart GPT or
1:10:38 Auto GPT or baby AGI or Lang chain or
1:10:43 just straight out of the box chat
1:10:47 GPT is start with you what are you good
1:10:51 at what can you look at the world and go
1:10:53 I know a problem that needs
1:10:55 solving entrepreneurs are people that
1:10:58 are um
1:11:03 annoyed like you sense an edge in me
1:11:05 like I'm just like like like when when
1:11:07 Siri got jealous of Bing and then Bing
1:11:09 told me to [ __ ] off cuz I insulted her
1:11:14 um like that bugs me like like [ __ ] in
1:11:17 the world bugs me like it bugs Bill Burr
1:11:19 right Bill Burr turns it into comedy I
1:11:22 turn it into companies that's a good
1:11:25 it's a good line
1:11:27 um entrepreneurs are kind of annoyed
1:11:30 with the world they're like there's got
1:11:31 to be a better way and then they're just
1:11:33 crazy enough to go oh I I I think I
1:11:37 could I think I could have I know this
1:11:38 better I think I could do
1:11:40 this and then they tell all their
1:11:42 friends and what do their friends say
1:11:43 what are you talking about that's not
1:11:46 that big a problem oh no it's a really
1:11:47 big problem I think I can solve it why
1:11:49 would you want to solve it you can't
1:11:50 make any money with that and then they
1:11:52 go off and they spend the next decade
1:11:54 trying to [ __ ] solve that problem and
1:11:56 some of them turn those into businesses
1:12:00 right so here's the good news about the
1:12:03 AI stuff is when you have that
1:12:06 idea the speed from when you have an
1:12:09 idea to you manifesting something that
1:12:12 can actually solve that
1:12:14 problem could literally be hours instead
1:12:17 of
1:12:20 months like like you could develop a
1:12:23 prototype
1:12:25 of essentially any idea that you want
1:12:28 right now in a week or two if if you
1:12:32 have the drive and the ambition and the
1:12:35 you just got to have the [ __ ] Moxy so
1:12:38 when it comes to making money with cat
1:12:39 GPT figure out what the problem is that
1:12:42 you can solve that you're qualified to
1:12:44 solve even if you're not qualified to do
1:12:45 the vertical execution you might need a
1:12:48 partner you might need to learn some AI
1:12:51 [ __ ] but now you can the AI will teach
1:12:54 you so anyway uh whatever was just
1:12:57 posted there I think it was from cam
1:12:59 katkin let's see a comment from cam
1:13:01 katkin cam katkin calling in from
1:13:03 Cleveland well cam katkin I have no idea
1:13:06 what city you're in but Cleveland starts
1:13:08 with a C hey I just got beta features on
1:13:11 chat gbd plus what
1:13:15 and
1:13:18 really cim I'm jealous I'm
1:13:21 jealous I'm just a jealous guy I don't
1:13:25 have it I'm
1:13:28 whiny we're dug in Wendy Wier we've got
1:13:31 diverticulitis I've still got the old
1:13:33 GPT that just does text I can't send it
1:13:37 pictures of my dog and ask what that
1:13:40 Ward is
1:13:46 no I was a fan of Cam kakin until this
1:13:52 moment so so
1:13:54 disappointing rubbing my face in it oh
1:13:57 look I got the new chat GPT I guess Sam
1:14:00 Alman likes me better than he likes you
1:14:03 Kyle he he thought you were special with
1:14:05 all your little hearty hearts and your
1:14:07 llama your llama that comes in
1:14:11 like yeah I got nothing I got nothing
1:14:14 people I got
1:14:17 nothing let's
1:14:20 see I am not a robot goodbye good good
1:14:24 day to you Winston it's a fine llama
1:14:26 you've put there I appreciate that more
1:14:29 than you know all right well you're
1:14:31 going to have a fox problem too had it
1:14:33 for two
1:14:34 days Kyle having Bailey's on Ice tonight
1:14:37 I should have Bailey's on Ice tonight I
1:14:39 feel like getting drunk I just need to
1:14:40 get [ __ ] obliterated tonight sitting
1:14:43 here without my fancy GPT how am I
1:14:46 supposed to run an AI learning lab if I
1:14:48 don't have access to AI
1:14:52 Sam you know you put a guy through
1:14:56 college and this is the thanks you get
1:14:59 I'm like hey Sam you know maybe you
1:15:01 should apply for that job at Y
1:15:03 combinator and he's like what huh what's
1:15:05 y combinator I'm like oh Sam
1:15:08 really and so he's the president of Y
1:15:11 combinator for years and then of course
1:15:13 I'm like so like Elon and I we were
1:15:16 having drinks one night and he's like
1:15:18 I'm thinking of coming up with this AI
1:15:20 company I'm like hey you should talk to
1:15:22 Sam Sam's really into this stuff he's
1:15:24 been talking a lot about it and Elon was
1:15:26 like oh yeah Larry and I we were talking
1:15:29 the other night and Larry doesn't even
1:15:31 understand how dangerous this stuff is I
1:15:32 think I think Sam gets it and so I
1:15:35 called up Sam and I'm like Sam you
1:15:36 should call Elon because I think he's
1:15:38 got like $50 million he doesn't know
1:15:40 what to do with so you should just call
1:15:42 him go hey uh can I have that and so he
1:15:45 called him and Elon gave him the $50
1:15:46 million and then it's it's a long story
1:15:49 they had a bit of a falling out but
1:15:51 anyway um he hasn't given me access to
1:15:54 my little tools yet [ __ ] all right
1:15:57 take a shot every time Kyle's wait take
1:16:01 a shot every time Kyle Fanboy after
1:16:03 Apple you'll be very
1:16:08 drunk
1:16:11 oh good lord what are we going to do
1:16:15 here people what are we going to do you
1:16:18 know what we're going to do we're going
1:16:19 to have fun we're going to have fun at
1:16:20 the AI learning lab I am not a robot
1:16:23 goodbye good day to you sir good day all
1:16:27 right let me see if my mouse is charged
1:16:30 now I have a
1:16:33 mouse all right let me see how do I
1:16:37 go let's go to system settings welcome
1:16:40 to Chad
1:16:42 add
1:16:44 mouse mouse and
1:16:47 trackpad I bet I bet I got to go to
1:16:51 Bluetooth don't I not Mouse cuz why
1:16:54 would you go why would you find
1:16:55 Bluetooth in
1:16:58 mouse nearby devices Magic Mouse 2
1:17:01 connect
1:17:04 boom connected I got a
1:17:08 mouse oh yeah people look at this now my
1:17:11 hands aren't going to be on the keyboard
1:17:13 anymore I
1:17:15 can I can zip
1:17:17 around yeah this is good this is good
1:17:20 people you don't even know how good it's
1:17:22 going to be it's going to be so awesome
1:17:25 all
1:17:26 right we're with mouse I have it I don't
1:17:29 know what the hell it does
1:17:34 Sherry stop picking on
1:17:37 me stop okay here's what to do Sherry
1:17:40 click on the little image icon in your
1:17:42 little chat bar and upload an image to
1:17:45 it take a picture of uh oh I got one
1:17:50 okay Sherry go to your go take your
1:17:54 phony phone and Kyle don't be mad I'm so
1:17:58 bitter I'm so bitter cam take your phony
1:18:02 phone and go to the back of like your
1:18:04 DVR or or the back of your TV take a
1:18:06 picture of like the panel where all the
1:18:08 [ __ ] plugs
1:18:09 in and then upload that to chat GPT and
1:18:14 ask it to tell you what it is and and
1:18:17 what all what all the holes
1:18:18 are see what it does um do it Kyle
1:18:22 cheers what am I going to do oh get
1:18:24 loaded tonight I might I'm well I'm on
1:18:26 coffee right
1:18:29 now watching Kyle's
1:18:33 meltdown I want the toys I want them
1:18:37 now it's not fair it's not fair it's not
1:18:42 fair
1:18:47 Sam I talk about his company every
1:18:50 single night I've been doing it for
1:18:52 months and he didn't even give me my
1:18:56 toys drink every time someone says Sam
1:18:59 Alman it's worse than Elon fans Sam's a
1:19:02 nice guy he understands the implications
1:19:05 of the future and the power of
1:19:07 artificial intelligence don't pick on
1:19:09 Sam I hate
1:19:14 him you are so gifted an actor you can
1:19:17 talk about hardwood flooring and make it
1:19:20 fascinating thank you so listen about
1:19:23 hardwood
1:19:25 flooring hi name's Jim flooring
1:19:30 salesman what you're going to want to do
1:19:32 is you're going to want to look at the
1:19:33 laminates they natural wood on the top
1:19:36 there's a layer of lamination on top
1:19:39 they won't discolor they won't crack
1:19:42 they don't shrink it's
1:19:44 amazing what tool can I use to
1:19:47 circumvent AI detection a grandma
1:19:51 um you can use
1:19:54 uh AI to circumvent AI detection so
1:19:58 there are tools you can go to one of the
1:20:00 one of the resources that I will
1:20:04 share oh I got to use my mouse because
1:20:07 people yell at me for my focus issues
1:20:09 all right um go to futurepedia
1:20:16 doio and that's just a big ass directory
1:20:20 of apps and um in there you can find AI
1:20:25 detection Breakers so so there are
1:20:29 probably 50 of
1:20:31 them you
1:20:33 can have I I'm I'm curious why why you
1:20:38 want to break it like are they do you
1:20:40 work at a university are are they the
1:20:44 the problem with all those AI detectors
1:20:45 is none of them work they give a
1:20:48 remarkable amount of false positives
1:20:51 they they um penalize non-native English
1:20:56 speakers go into your settings and see
1:20:58 if Bing is back in your beta options
1:21:01 it's not I can tell I know it's
1:21:04 [Laughter]
1:21:07 not beta features it's not there it's
1:21:12 not there and then sometimes people like
1:21:14 oh Kyle you should just log out and log
1:21:16 back in and then maybe it'll be there
1:21:18 and so I go over here and I go log out
1:21:20 and then it logs me out and then I come
1:21:23 back back in and I go log in and then I
1:21:25 go Google it's my Google I'm logging in
1:21:28 with Google and I log in with
1:21:32 Google it is still not there still
1:21:36 nothing I got
1:21:42 nothing all
1:21:44 right what does the beta Bing do okay so
1:21:47 if you go I know what these all do you
1:21:49 know what's funny on on um on Twitter on
1:21:53 the Twitter everyone's talking about hey
1:21:56 chat GPT added Internet connection like
1:21:59 it's new they had internet connection
1:22:02 until like mid July and they got rid of
1:22:04 it because they [ __ ] up and
1:22:07 like it's amazing to me like no it's not
1:22:11 new anyway so what you do with it is you
1:22:15 um go browse with Bing and then you can
1:22:18 search so so with traditional chat GPT
1:22:21 if you say
1:22:24 um uh hey what's the what what are the
1:22:27 latest real estate prices in Denver or
1:22:29 whatever it might be it'll basically
1:22:31 tell you I only know knowledge up to
1:22:34 September 2021 with browse with Bing it
1:22:37 can actually go onto the internet and do
1:22:38 a search so you you can ask it for
1:22:40 upto-date information in chat GPT and it
1:22:44 it does a combination of a Bing search
1:22:47 and and a chat GPT prompt so that's what
1:22:50 it does so just just go play with it
1:22:53 um will Nexus Hub wait what's that say
1:22:57 the Sam Alman the one the
1:23:00 truth [ __ ] laughing so much I lost track
1:23:03 of how many scoops of coffee I put in
1:23:10 the in the coffee maker just do one more
1:23:13 just do one more CU if if you do six
1:23:15 instead of five it'll just be as strong
1:23:18 you put a little extra milk in it you'll
1:23:19 be good that's
1:23:21 awesome
1:23:25 oh
1:23:25 [Laughter]
1:23:30 man let her Jump In The Box and show us
1:23:34 um yeah we could do
1:23:36 that but I don't know if she's set up to
1:23:39 like I got a I got a whole rig here to
1:23:40 be able to show my screen it's this is
1:23:42 not easy I need I have a
1:23:44 monopod a cardboard box and a basket
1:23:47 with an LED light on it a helmet box
1:23:50 with a computer on it this is this is a
1:23:52 professional operation here people wait
1:23:54 does Lex Freedman what was that question
1:23:56 that was just uh posted there Sherry
1:23:58 Banks I would love to figure out the
1:24:01 image I don't have it oh does Lex
1:24:03 Friedman have
1:24:05 anything to do with AI or does pseudo
1:24:09 intelligence make people think
1:24:15 so I I don't know Lex Fred fredman's
1:24:19 background I mean the oh he's he's isn't
1:24:22 he an m MIT
1:24:23 Professor he like he's he's an
1:24:26 incredibly I think he's an MIT Professor
1:24:28 isn't he and then he does the blog like
1:24:30 I know him from the blog
1:24:32 but hang
1:24:35 on um what is Lex freed man's
1:24:44 background researcher specializing in
1:24:47 machine learning and autonomous vehicles
1:24:49 in other
1:24:50 areas he earned his PhD from
1:24:54 MIT um wait why can I not cuz I don't
1:24:58 know how to use my mouse
1:25:03 anymore hang on hang on here people hang
1:25:07 on hang on champ what's wrong you got to
1:25:10 go pee peee you got to go
1:25:12 peeee um he focused on developing
1:25:14 algorithms yeah he knows his [ __ ] it's
1:25:17 it's not just pseudointellectualism he's
1:25:19 actually a [ __ ]
1:25:21 Brainiac
1:25:23 you know how you can tell Lex is really
1:25:25 smart is when one of his really smart
1:25:27 guests uses some
1:25:30 obtuse theory of something that is like
1:25:33 special to their domain and then Lex
1:25:36 fredman's like oh yeah that one like he
1:25:38 knows he knows all these obtuse
1:25:40 references and and it can be everything
1:25:42 from literature to psychology to Joe
1:25:45 Rogan to
1:25:47 so I'm not sure I have the right update
1:25:50 I have B and that's all I have how do I
1:25:53 get the image so I
1:25:55 think so from what I in Advanced Data
1:25:59 analysis you get this little plus icon
1:26:01 here I think in regular default GPT you
1:26:06 should have a little camera icon there
1:26:09 like a little camera icon right here and
1:26:10 you click that camera icon and that'll
1:26:12 let you upload an image I think I think
1:26:14 that's how to do it but I don't know cuz
1:26:16 Sam didn't give it to me yet Champ's got
1:26:19 a pee hang
1:26:20 on come on J you want to go out you want
1:26:23 to go see Mama let's go see if Mama's
1:26:26 down
1:26:51 here
1:27:14 so I we we'll leave champ out there
1:27:16 until he starts barking which shouldn't
1:27:18 be that long cuz he likes barking at
1:27:21 people all right let's see I'm not sure
1:27:25 I have the right update oh okay we said
1:27:31 that oh you have Focus issues all right
1:27:34 hey that's a Chad add joke we don't joke
1:27:37 about neurodiversity here in the AI
1:27:40 learning lab we make fun of
1:27:44 it Kyle's nice but he's neuros
1:27:51 spicy m
1:27:53 the hair has decided to take a little
1:27:55 trip on its own hasn't
1:28:01 it Sam Alman came out and said AI
1:28:04 detectors are heavily flawed not only
1:28:06 that they removed their AI detector open
1:28:09 AI had an AI detector and they pulled
1:28:12 it uh uh shrug no image ability ah rats
1:28:18 that makes me feel a little better
1:28:19 Sherry
1:28:21 Banks you know have it too I got an ice
1:28:25 cream and you can't have none you are
1:28:28 the broke your mom's on
1:28:34 Ware anyone Eddie
1:28:38 Murphy welcome everyone this is the AI
1:28:40 learning lab my name is Kyle Shannon I
1:28:41 see there's a bunch of people in here
1:28:43 that might not have been in here before
1:28:45 uh we talk about AI stuff and I act like
1:28:47 an idiot that's what we do
1:28:50 Here Eddie Murphy is singing in my head
1:28:53 exactly it's like once you hear that you
1:28:56 just go if you're of a certain age I got
1:28:58 an ice cream and you
1:29:04 can one of the best routines and
1:29:10 then H classic comedy it's the
1:29:15 best Bing is my chat gbt on my iPad
1:29:19 that's super
1:29:21 cool
1:29:23 I got McDonald's and you got a green
1:29:26 pepper
1:29:27 [Laughter]
1:29:29 burger oh man I did get a green pepper
1:29:33 Burger today oddly enough from the [ __ ]
1:29:37 was it what's that place called Carl's
1:29:39 Jr back East they called it Hardies it's
1:29:43 like they have reasonably priced food
1:29:47 that looks like good food but then it's
1:29:48 really
1:29:51 not challenging but it was a green
1:29:54 pepper burger and now you're caught up
1:29:56 Kyle nice
1:29:59 terrific so welcome everyone if if
1:30:02 you've got questions about AI put them
1:30:03 in the comments below I'm happy to to
1:30:06 show some stuff maybe I'll go through
1:30:07 since I I did some oh you know what I'll
1:30:10 do I'm going to go through get ready to
1:30:11 do some screenshotting so if you're new
1:30:14 here if you're like I don't know where
1:30:15 to start Kyle where what do I where do I
1:30:19 start this all seems so exciting
1:30:22 everyone's talking about AI is that what
1:30:24 this channel is about oh oh Lord at look
1:30:26 at the monkey so there's that that was
1:30:32 awesome I am so I am so easily
1:30:35 entertained it's kind of disturbing it's
1:30:38 one of the things I've learned about
1:30:40 myself here is I get an enor amount of
1:30:44 Joy from those things but thank you um
1:30:47 is it a good idea to buy chat GPT from
1:30:50 Apple are there any Adventure advantages
1:30:53 okay Mike so no be
1:30:57 careful so one of the things that apple
1:31:00 is okay all right so for you for you
1:31:05 trolls who just say Kyle's just an apple
1:31:08 Fanboy and he only loves Apple here's
1:31:10 something that Apple's doing that
1:31:12 they're just [ __ ] [ __ ]
1:31:16 over apple is the Apple App Store is
1:31:20 full of apps that have icons that look
1:31:23 identical to open ai's
1:31:25 icon and and are like chat
1:31:30 GP you know GPT chat there there are a
1:31:35 bunch of apps in the Apple App Store
1:31:37 that you have to pay for that are
1:31:38 [ __ ] ripoffs do not do not buy an app
1:31:43 in the Apple App Store the official chat
1:31:45 GPT app is from a company called open
1:31:49 AI so go to the Apple App Store get the
1:31:54 open AI chat GPT app nothing
1:31:58 else it's
1:32:00 free now once you have the Apple the the
1:32:06 open AI chat GPT app there's a free mode
1:32:09 and a paid
1:32:11 mode I do think it's worth paying for
1:32:13 the paid mode of chat GPT but you're
1:32:16 paying for that account that'll work on
1:32:18 the web and will work in your chat GPT
1:32:22 app
1:32:23 so
1:32:25 um make sure you get the official app
1:32:27 the other thing you can do on your phone
1:32:29 is just open up Safari or open up Chrome
1:32:32 and go to chat.
1:32:34 open.com Aunt buddy fell down the stairs
1:32:46 again I don't know why I found that so
1:32:48 funny refel Punk that was good
1:32:57 all right so listen here's what we're
1:32:58 going to
1:33:01 do I I have so much fun here like it's
1:33:06 so cool like having people that what's
1:33:09 cool is there's a bunch of people that
1:33:11 are brand new to the channel brand new
1:33:13 to Ai and then there's just this [ __ ]
1:33:15 pile of inside jokes that are actually
1:33:18 kind of funny whether you know the
1:33:20 inside joke or not so it's really cool
1:33:24 all right so here's what we're going to
1:33:30 [Music]
1:33:34 do can I scroll here yes yes
1:33:44 yes okay get ready to do some what's a
1:33:47 free cheaper comparison of mid Journey
1:33:49 all right I'll talk about that in a
1:33:51 second okay
1:33:52 so get ready to do some
1:33:55 screenshotting so this is the the
1:33:58 official it's going to be like 10
1:34:00 minutes so prepare so if you've seen if
1:34:02 you've seen this before in the channel
1:34:04 you can you know now' be a good time to
1:34:06 go you know walk the dog or whatever um
1:34:09 or let the dog out um but i' I as you
1:34:13 can see I did new [ __ ] so I've got I've
1:34:15 got everything in tables now so it's a
1:34:17 little more professional looking um this
1:34:21 is what I call adults table so these are
1:34:23 the top three things chat GPT so the
1:34:25 official chat GPT site is chat. open.com
1:34:28 so for the person just asking about the
1:34:31 Apple app just go to Chrome and type in
1:34:34 chat. open.com and make it a shortcut on
1:34:37 your phone and you'll have an icon there
1:34:40 that is chat GPT and then you can choose
1:34:42 whether or not you want to pay the 20
1:34:44 bucks or not I think it's worth paying
1:34:45 the 20 bucks can you tell I'm
1:34:48 multitasking making a suspension of baby
1:34:51 baby blood trying to
1:34:58 type oh that's good um b.google.r
1:35:05 it is connected to the internet it's
1:35:08 nowhere close to chat GPT right now
1:35:11 but they're about to
1:35:13 announce Google Gemini which I think is
1:35:16 going to be the new engine sitting
1:35:18 underneath it it's about to get really
1:35:20 good from what they claim we'll see and
1:35:24 then claw. is a company called
1:35:28 anthropic Amazon just invested 1.5
1:35:31 billion and reserved the right to invest
1:35:34 up to 4 billion so these three are major
1:35:38 players with major funding with major
1:35:40 partners and they're not going away so
1:35:43 those are the ones I'd pay attent pay
1:35:45 attention to um on an ongoing basis th
1:35:49 this is where the innovation's going to
1:35:51 come from
1:35:52 uh for for the kind of the big meaty
1:35:55 players the Kids
1:35:58 Table Microsoft doesn't really deserve
1:36:00 to be at the Kids Table they're [ __ ]
1:36:02 Microsoft but they have so hobbled Bing
1:36:05 that [ __ ] it they're at the Kids
1:36:10 Table um but but they are they are
1:36:14 November 1st releasing chat GPT into
1:36:17 Office
1:36:18 365 so that's going to get really
1:36:21 serious really quick and Bing is
1:36:22 actually it's not bad it's connected to
1:36:24 the internet it can make images it's
1:36:26 going to incorporate Dolly 3 which is
1:36:28 going to be amazing then you got pi and
1:36:31 then the IOS app version of Pi so the
1:36:33 person that was asking before about
1:36:35 Apple chat GPT also download the PI
1:36:39 app the company is inflection you spell
1:36:43 Pi pii not p i
1:36:46 e so so on on the Apple App Store search
1:36:49 for pi personal assistant and you'll
1:36:51 find the PI app install it and you can
1:36:54 talk to it you put it into voice mode
1:36:56 and you can just have a conversation
1:36:58 with the chat GPT like thing it's
1:37:01 amazing um labs. perplexity doai will
1:37:04 let you play with meta's models and then
1:37:06 po um is from a company called quora
1:37:09 that have been around for 20 years uh a
1:37:12 question and answer site and they got a
1:37:14 bunch of different models there and they
1:37:16 just added a connection to the internet
1:37:18 into their bot list okay so those are
1:37:22 the adult and kids tables of the word
1:37:25 things now pitches you were asking
1:37:28 before about
1:37:30 pitches um Dolly 3 I have it in
1:37:33 parentheses because it's not out yet but
1:37:35 it's
1:37:36 coming and according to Sam Alman I'm
1:37:39 not going to get it until everyone else
1:37:40 in my channel gets it bitter you
1:37:44 betcha um Dolly 3 I think is going to be
1:37:48 a mid Journey killer and it's going to
1:37:49 be an ideogram killer I think dolly 3 is
1:37:52 going to basically obliterate those
1:37:55 other two things um and I there's a lot
1:37:59 of reasons why but but notice that the
1:38:02 URL for Dolly 3 the mid Journey killer
1:38:05 is the same as the URL for chat
1:38:09 GPT because you're going to be able to
1:38:12 make images within the context of a chat
1:38:15 GPT conversation so that's a big deal
1:38:19 mid journey is the best of image
1:38:22 generation tools right now you you can
1:38:24 only currently make images in Discord so
1:38:27 not only do you have to learn mid
1:38:29 Journey's ridiculous command
1:38:31 line um you know functions you also have
1:38:36 to learn Discord it's a pain in the ass
1:38:38 but there's just it it's remarkable at a
1:38:40 level that's you know good um ideogram
1:38:45 is the thing that makes all of the
1:38:47 images that I display here like all of
1:38:49 the text in these images was done with
1:38:52 ideogram like all these images were done
1:38:54 with ideogram it's not just a text but
1:38:57 it can do
1:38:58 text we're not I'm not weird I'm
1:39:01 irregular that's for the
1:39:04 Irregulars
1:39:08 um I'm not a robot
1:39:11 goodbye um and then
1:39:13 firefly.com plus photoshop's generative
1:39:17 fill that was launched live the one
1:39:19 thing missing from this list I should
1:39:21 probably squeeze in here somehow is um
1:39:25 Leonardo doai which is sitting on top of
1:39:28 stable diffusion it's pretty good too
1:39:31 the free ones here ideogram right now is
1:39:34 free mid journey is
1:39:36 not um
1:39:50 leonardo.da hugging face is hugging face
1:39:54 is more geared toward developers than
1:39:57 end users and so things like Lang chain
1:40:01 and hugging face and GitHub I I I tend
1:40:03 not to push people there even though
1:40:05 there's things you can play with there
1:40:07 there's models you can play with there
1:40:10 it is one of the most horrific user
1:40:12 interfaces in the history of user
1:40:14 interfaces so so I'm I'm not going to re
1:40:18 reward their bad behavior how about just
1:40:21 perplexity do.ai it's out of the labs
1:40:24 yeah so uh wait where was that back here
1:40:27 perplexity doai so so labs. perplexity
1:40:30 do.ai is where you can play with the
1:40:32 meta tools but perplexity doai on its
1:40:35 own is actually a really good tool
1:40:38 that's worth exploring so yeah I agree
1:40:40 with that Vicki um okay so wait did we
1:40:44 cover everything on this one so those
1:40:47 are the pretty picture um my
1:40:49 recommendations there open art . a/
1:40:52 promptbook will teach you how these
1:40:55 image models work and and how deep they
1:40:58 really go they're they're really quite
1:41:00 remarkable okay so now let's go to
1:41:02 moving pictures um go ahead and
1:41:05 screenshot this Runway ml if you go to
1:41:07 app. Runway ml.com the first thing they
1:41:10 lead with is Gen 2 which is their you
1:41:13 can do text to video or you can do image
1:41:15 to video so you can go to one of these
1:41:18 tools make a really cool image and then
1:41:20 go to Runway m l and turn it into a 4sec
1:41:23 video and then you can take that 4C
1:41:25 video and extend it into an 18-second
1:41:27 video it's remarkable now
1:41:31 caveat all of these tools all of these
1:41:35 tools every single one of these
1:41:39 tools Irregulars you know what's
1:41:43 coming our janky pieces of [ __ ] all of
1:41:47 them not because any of the companies
1:41:50 are bad at what they do they're all
1:41:52 remarkable at what they do we are so
1:41:55 early in whatever the hell this this new
1:41:59 era is going to become that all the
1:42:01 tools right now are just getting off the
1:42:03 ground so all of them are really janky
1:42:06 so you'll notice that the videos that
1:42:08 you make with Runway ml sometimes people
1:42:11 will look weird or they'll be walking
1:42:12 and their leg will just sort of suck up
1:42:14 into their hip like just weird shit's
1:42:16 going to happen remember that 18 months
1:42:19 ago image generation tools were
1:42:22 comically bad and now they are
1:42:24 dramatically good same shit's going to
1:42:26 happen with the animation stuff so
1:42:29 that's that one hey Jen so if you go to
1:42:31 Labs hey Jen itself is kind of like did
1:42:35 on the
1:42:36 bottom where you can it's got voice
1:42:39 synthesis you can write a script and
1:42:41 pick an avatar and it'll make a talking
1:42:44 video for you of that Avatar saying the
1:42:47 script in some voice that's kind of what
1:42:49 they do but the the killer app that
1:42:52 they've got is haen vide translate so if
1:42:55 you go to labs.com
1:42:57 labs. hen.com video translate
1:43:04 it does [ __ ] like
1:43:10 this look it's
1:43:12 me more
1:43:20 me
1:43:28 so that's me speaking fluent
1:43:32 Mandarin I think there's like 12
1:43:34 languages there now they give you two
1:43:36 free credits the the um the queue for
1:43:39 the for the free Generations is like
1:43:42 four days it's going to take like four
1:43:44 days to get it back but if you pay for
1:43:46 it it turns it around in like 10 minutes
1:43:48 it's it's remarkable Skybox is another
1:43:51 one that is just fun to play with if you
1:43:54 haven't played with it um do I have it
1:43:57 up here
1:43:59 anywhere no I do not uh
1:44:03 Skybox blockade Labs so what Skybox is
1:44:07 is a 3D World maker it's well it's a
1:44:10 pseudo 3D World
1:44:12 maker so see this cool 3D World well now
1:44:15 I can go in here and I
1:44:18 can go
1:44:26 Wild West
1:44:27 Town with a
1:44:29 saloon and horses and a dusty
1:44:35 road and then digital painting's fine so
1:44:39 oh wait I got to Lug in ah dang
1:44:45 it hold
1:44:48 [Music]
1:44:50 please
1:44:51 [Music]
1:44:52 you know Kyle was doing good and then he
1:44:55 just he he just wasn't prepared he just
1:44:57 didn't he wasn't logged into anything
1:44:59 and he didn't know how his computer
1:45:00 worked I mean you know to be fair he's
1:45:02 old right he's an old guy trying to use
1:45:05 Tik Tock trying to use
1:45:07 computers
1:45:09 so wild west
1:45:14 town with a saloon and horses and Tumble
1:45:19 weeds
1:45:24 oh whoaa w
1:45:29 w how hugging face is considered as
1:45:32 competing against chat gbt well I'll
1:45:36 talk about that in a
1:45:41 second so there there's your Wild West
1:45:43 Town with the
1:45:45 saloon and I said horses everywhere I
1:45:48 wasn't expecting an apocalyptic
1:45:52 wagon vehicle but I guess this is the
1:45:55 modern wild
1:45:58 west but uh yeah so
1:46:04 so you know this starts to point to a
1:46:06 future where you're going to be able to
1:46:08 just you know generate Worlds by
1:46:10 speaking them into existence and then
1:46:12 did is is is another thing where you can
1:46:15 do synthesized voice things like that
1:46:17 okay that's that one all right more
1:46:19 stuff screenshot this so the top two
1:46:22 things are directories futur
1:46:27 pedia.com howdy partner thank you for
1:46:31 the Hat I loves me a hat yeah that was
1:46:33 good oh that was good that was wait so
1:46:35 we need the we need the Hat there in the
1:46:38 in a little
1:46:39 town
1:46:41 yeah you feeling lucky
1:46:49 punk
1:46:51 life's tough it's tougher when you're
1:46:56 stupid is that the salon I think that
1:46:58 must be the saloon all right anyway um
1:47:02 okay so the first two are just big piles
1:47:05 of if I don't know something here The
1:47:08 Tool probably exists again all these
1:47:10 tools are janky pieces of crap just know
1:47:12 that at these big directory sites if
1:47:15 there's 4500 AI
1:47:18 tools 45 of them are
1:47:22 useful okay just know that you're going
1:47:25 to be you're going to be going down many
1:47:27 rabbit holes only to realize oh this is
1:47:29 a janky piece of [ __ ] yep pop your way
1:47:33 back up Ethan mullock uh a Warton
1:47:37 business school Professor brilliant
1:47:40 insightful has
1:47:42 been deeply embracing this AI stuff in a
1:47:45 in a very intentional way has lots of
1:47:47 good things to say about higher
1:47:49 education lots of of good things to say
1:47:51 about the tools everything he writes I
1:47:53 tend to agree with him on um David
1:47:56 Shapiro's the the genius I talked about
1:47:59 before anyone that's in the coding side
1:48:01 of this you should be paying attention
1:48:02 to him and then Paul rater from the
1:48:04 marketing AI
1:48:06 Institute um has got a weekly podcast
1:48:09 that I think is worth listening to and
1:48:11 he's got a an
1:48:13 annual uh marketing AI conference in
1:48:16 Cleveland which is where they're based
1:48:18 so those are all good um I'm also I got
1:48:21 invited by another Creator named Ronda
1:48:24 Phillips to do a workshop it's a week
1:48:26 from last night so starting next
1:48:28 Wednesday for three consecutive weeks
1:48:30 we're doing three 2hour sessions called
1:48:33 the AI
1:48:34 Launchpad Rhonda's Community is creative
1:48:37 so creative voiceover actors and things
1:48:40 like that but it's basically going to be
1:48:43 AI for for you know creative
1:48:45 professionals so the first one's going
1:48:47 to be an overview of AI the second one's
1:48:49 going to be applying AI to your business
1:48:51 like more Hands-On practical [ __ ] and
1:48:54 then the third one's going to be
1:48:55 Advanced AI we we'll get into things
1:48:57 like animation voice synthesis you know
1:49:00 some of the more sexy stuff um I have
1:49:04 footage of a speech and it's dark which
1:49:07 AI features do you recommend to
1:49:10 light to lighten it oh um try descript
1:49:16 de I think it's descript video they've
1:49:19 got a bunch of tools you could probably
1:49:23 also just use um iMovie if you're if
1:49:27 you're on a Mac you could probably just
1:49:29 open it into iMovie and run some color
1:49:31 correction on it I'm sure they've got
1:49:32 some sort of tool to do that um anyway
1:49:35 Ronda voice.com events you can go check
1:49:38 that out it's a week from last night so
1:49:41 next Wednesday and and if you're if
1:49:43 you're asking Kyle what exactly is in
1:49:46 the
1:49:47 presentation I I don't have a flipping
1:49:50 clue right now because by next Wednesday
1:49:54 so if I don't have access to the new
1:49:56 features of chat GPT I'll talk about
1:49:59 them in the abstract or I'll show other
1:50:00 people [ __ ] if I do have access to them
1:50:02 and can play with it I'll probably
1:50:04 include some of that stuff and and what
1:50:06 it makes possible um but but one of the
1:50:10 things I'm going to try to do in the
1:50:11 workshop is not get too I'm going to get
1:50:15 tactical combined with understand that
1:50:18 anything that I'm teaching in this
1:50:19 Workshop is going to be useless 3 months
1:50:22 from now because things are changing so
1:50:25 fast so I'm going to try hard to teach
1:50:28 you know things like critical thinking
1:50:31 and how to think about prompting and how
1:50:33 to think about using these tools and how
1:50:34 to experiment with these tools so that
1:50:37 I'm excited about um the salon is uh the
1:50:41 AI Salon is a community I started last
1:50:44 December um we meet every other week in
1:50:48 person here in Denver and online we do a
1:50:51 a a Meetup so the links to the Meetup
1:50:54 and to our Discord server are at the
1:50:56 salon. and then story Vine's my company
1:50:58 and that's my uh Twitter handle then the
1:51:01 only other thing this still exists but
1:51:03 it doesn't seem to be um as bad I don't
1:51:07 I don't know if they're still sort of
1:51:08 actively trying to scam people but if
1:51:10 you subscribe if you're a follower of my
1:51:13 channel make sure that you're not
1:51:14 following AI L learning lab that's a
1:51:18 scammer that's trying to sell people
1:51:20 cryp cryto [ __ ] and you know [ __ ] you to
1:51:23 him or her or it whatever the [ __ ] it is
1:51:27 um but you know it's flattering I'm I'm
1:51:30 I'm an influencer now because I've had
1:51:32 all my videos stolen and cloned so
1:51:34 anyway that's that that was probably a
1:51:36 15minute little uh little uh rabbit hole
1:51:40 we went down but but hopefully that
1:51:42 helps there's there's a lot to play with
1:51:44 right now any of the things that I put
1:51:46 on those lists um I'm I'm not on any of
1:51:52 their
1:51:53 payrolls
1:51:55 um these are things that I think are
1:51:57 worth your time spending time on so um
1:52:02 if you're just starting with this stuff
1:52:04 and you're like but Kyle I'm completely
1:52:06 overwhelmed just start with chat GPT
1:52:08 it's the only one you need to start with
1:52:10 chat.
1:52:12 open.com I could personally spend the
1:52:16 next decade using nothing but chat gbt
1:52:19 and still not have scratched the surface
1:52:21 of what it makes possible it's that deep
1:52:23 it's that
1:52:24 profound so all
1:52:27 right um how about some AI to create
1:52:30 websites yeah there's one oh what the
1:52:33 hell is it
1:52:35 called go to Future
1:52:49 pedia.com really quickly tossed together
1:52:52 janky pieces of [ __ ] and there's a
1:52:54 handful of them that are quite good but
1:52:57 they're moving really quick and I think
1:52:59 that the major players like web flow and
1:53:03 you know Squarespace and all them
1:53:05 they're going to have their own AI
1:53:07 website Builders I'm kind of sitting
1:53:09 back right now letting the the dust
1:53:11 settle a bit cuz it's a it's a much more
1:53:12 complicated
1:53:14 space I would say
1:53:18 that almost all of
1:53:21 those excuse me almost all of
1:53:26 the presentation makers and website
1:53:30 makers are a little gimmicky right now
1:53:32 where it's really cool like it demos
1:53:34 well right I have a I have a company
1:53:37 that does this and it makes me a website
1:53:39 and it makes all the images and it makes
1:53:41 all the slides and you're like oh that's
1:53:42 awesome and then if you actually go look
1:53:43 at what it wrote It's like well it's
1:53:46 like
1:53:47 40% of what I would build and and I
1:53:51 don't know how to edit it and it it's
1:53:54 they're just a mess right now
1:53:57 so
1:53:58 um I think they're going to get good but
1:54:01 I'll I'll I'll take a note I think I
1:54:03 think it's probably worth my time to
1:54:05 start exploring some of that stuff um I
1:54:07 use chat gbt toota beverage calculator
1:54:10 for our beer something beer company is
1:54:13 there an AI generator where I drop video
1:54:15 clips and it turns it into a fully
1:54:19 edited
1:54:21 video yeah there's a there's a there's a
1:54:23 bunch of those that have existed I mean
1:54:25 iMovie does that um quite well you don't
1:54:30 necessarily need AI for that um I would
1:54:32 go to there's one called Vig VI yo um
1:54:37 and there's another one called uh
1:54:39 descript that are doing those kind of
1:54:43 assembly and editing
1:54:44 things
1:54:46 um yeah again I'm I'm not really when it
1:54:50 comes to sort of the Tactical
1:54:52 applications like that I'm F focusing
1:54:55 more on the higher level stuff just
1:54:57 because I just feel like there's so much
1:54:59 noise down at those tactical tools cuz
1:55:02 so many people are taking basic
1:55:05 functionality from hugging face and just
1:55:07 dumping it into an interface and they
1:55:09 they launch it as if it's a company and
1:55:11 a lot of them are not Winston Hardy
1:55:13 you're spending too much time here I use
1:55:16 chat GPT to code a beverage calculator
1:55:18 for our beer truck company that's super
1:55:20 cool perfect yeah
1:55:23 perfect oh that's one of the other
1:55:25 things that some of the some of the
1:55:26 things I've been seeing people that have
1:55:28 access to the image reading thing of
1:55:30 chat GPT is um they'll either screenshot
1:55:35 like a SAS portal like a dashboard or
1:55:40 just
1:55:41 draw like a flowchart on a on a
1:55:44 whiteboard take a picture of it tell
1:55:46 chat GPT to analyze the website and code
1:55:49 the component and it does
1:55:52 like holy crap uh let me go let the
1:55:55 doggy back in I'll be
1:56:19 back
1:56:41 come on come on you little critter get
1:56:44 inside
1:56:46 yeah yeah it's a good boy
1:56:52 champy was standing by the door he
1:56:54 thought I forgot about him he's
1:56:57 like oh
1:57:01 no all
1:57:04 right and scene potty time oh
1:57:09 yeah let's see let's change our little
1:57:11 image here Siri gets jealous we do that
1:57:18 one uh is there a way to get oh I was
1:57:21 going to answer the the hugging face one
1:57:23 is there a way to get chat GPT to review
1:57:25 multiple coding files at once and ask it
1:57:28 to build on
1:57:30 it I haven't done enough
1:57:33 coding so one thing you could try is you
1:57:36 could take those coding files and upload
1:57:38 them into code interpreter so Advanced
1:57:40 Data
1:57:42 analysis but I don't think that's going
1:57:44 to I don't know I don't
1:57:47 know probably not I I would say I would
1:57:50 say it's probably worth you going to um
1:57:53 to github's co-pilot and and and learn
1:57:56 about co-pilot first that's really
1:57:58 specializes in coding and then you've
1:58:01 got GitHub where you can have your
1:58:02 repository with your different elements
1:58:04 in it so I don't know enough about
1:58:06 coding to like the the the answer to
1:58:09 almost all the questions is yes it can
1:58:11 do that to what level I don't
1:58:15 know um ncape picture me in a rocking
1:58:18 chair waking up and yelling Netscape and
1:58:20 that's just what I
1:58:23 did oh man Paul Riser no Paul
1:58:28 rer um Pate modder thank you Pate memory
1:58:31 is starting to
1:58:34 fail that's pretty good how about some
1:58:38 AI to create websites we just did that
1:58:40 one is there an AI generator where I
1:58:42 drop in video clips we did that
1:58:44 [Music]
1:58:46 one welcome back Kyle thank you steo is
1:58:49 chat gbt free it
1:58:51 is but they have a
1:58:54 $20 upgrade 20 bucks a month
1:58:59 um and you're like but Kyle what do I
1:59:01 get for $20 that's a lot of money I'm
1:59:03 already paying a lot of money to
1:59:05 everyone everyone I agree um I think the
1:59:10 chat GPT is worth the 20 bucks you get
1:59:12 plugins you get chat gp4 you
1:59:16 get code interpreter which is now called
1:59:19 a Advanced Data analysis you'll now get
1:59:23 its ability to see images and use an
1:59:28 image as a prompt is effectively what
1:59:30 it's doing which is kind of
1:59:33 mind-blowing it can also
1:59:35 talk and then with Dolly 3 which is
1:59:38 coming it will be able to make images so
1:59:41 you're going to have you're going to
1:59:42 have like six or seven major pieces of
1:59:45 functional plus you'll be able to call
1:59:47 all that from apis that's a separate fee
1:59:50 but like if you're a programmer the a
1:59:53 the API stuff's worth it as well cuz
1:59:55 it's going to get it's going to get
1:59:56 quite sophisticated quite quickly
1:59:59 um so I think chat GPT is worth the 20
2:00:03 bucks a month this is really interesting
2:00:05 can AI read electrical drawings probably
2:00:09 can like
2:00:11 like probably can like take a picture of
2:00:15 one or just go grab a picture of an
2:00:16 electrical drawing and toss it up there
2:00:18 this would be a perfect thing so if I
2:00:22 had access to the advanced tools that
2:00:24 Sam Alman has not given me because he
2:00:26 doesn't like me CU you know what it is
2:00:28 you know what it is Sam's jealous of me
2:00:31 that's what it is because Sam Alman is
2:00:34 jealous of me he's not giving me access
2:00:36 to these but if I had access to them I'd
2:00:39 go on the internet right now this is a
2:00:40 total chat add moment I'd go on the
2:00:43 internet I'd find an electrical drawing
2:00:45 I know nothing about electrical drawings
2:00:48 right my ignorance is my advantage on
2:00:50 this channel cuz I have ADD I'm like
2:00:52 let's go try it and we would go there
2:00:54 and I would upload it to chat GPT and I
2:00:56 could tell you definitively if it could
2:00:58 read electrical drawings but I can't
2:01:01 because I don't have access to it cuz
2:01:02 Sam's jealous of me have I used otter AI
2:01:07 I've looked at it I haven't used it
2:01:10 enough oh I have sorry no yes yes I've
2:01:14 used otter AI That's
2:01:17 transcription um
2:01:21 I have used it it's transcription
2:01:24 right welcome to my
2:01:26 brain I'm like have I heard of that I'm
2:01:28 like I think I've heard of that then I'm
2:01:30 like oh I actually have a subscription
2:01:31 to that
2:01:35 otter AI chat meetings yeah it's pretty
2:01:38 good
2:01:42 um otter pilot for sales the number one
2:01:46 AI tool for sales
2:01:48 meetings
2:01:50 I
2:01:58 am if you're looking for a
2:02:00 recommendation like is it worth using
2:02:02 any of these things that are specialized
2:02:04 tools for for a specialized
2:02:07 domain almost all of these are just
2:02:10 going to become features in everything
2:02:12 we use right Google meets is going to
2:02:15 have some version of this teams is going
2:02:17 to have some version of this zoom's
2:02:20 gonna have some version like
2:02:21 everything's gonna have it so is this
2:02:24 tool better than that tool there's tools
2:02:26 that show up as your notetaker for the
2:02:29 meeting I don't know which one to use
2:02:31 like otter was pretty good but but in
2:02:34 terms of quality of transcription open
2:02:37 AI whisper whisper transcription is the
2:02:40 best transcription I've seen it's
2:02:42 possible that otter is using open ai's
2:02:45 transcription tool I don't know though
2:02:48 so I would
2:02:50 say for any of these tools do not pay
2:02:53 for the annual subscription go month to
2:02:55 month because a lot of the stuff that
2:02:57 you're paying for month to month is
2:02:59 going to show up as a feature in someone
2:03:00 else's tool
2:03:02 so I wish I had a better answer I got no
2:03:05 good answers for you try korea. AI the
2:03:08 models are not bad free option too all
2:03:10 right let's go look at that korea. a k r
2:03:14 a.
2:03:17 AI create an AI with your own style
2:03:20 interesting so they're probably doing
2:03:22 like a dream Booth kind of Laura thing
2:03:25 introducing patterns how it
2:03:28 works upload images train your AI
2:03:32 generate en canvas yeah this looks cool
2:03:35 so this is this is not dissimilar to uh
2:03:37 to Leonardo it looks it looks like it's
2:03:40 a bit more simple of an approach at
2:03:42 least at first glance try Korea for
2:03:48 free
2:03:50 we'll go with the Google The
2:03:55 Google single sign
2:04:00 on hi Kyle Shannon welcome to Korea
2:04:03 let's personalize your experience I'm a
2:04:06 designer I'm an artist I'm a product
2:04:08 manager am I a developer nah I'm not
2:04:11 going to give myself that I'm a marketer
2:04:13 I'm an
2:04:14 entrepreneur and I'm a student of life
2:04:16 I'm a student of Life I'll just say it
2:04:18 I'll say it right now I'm a student of
2:04:20 life I like I like
2:04:23 learning I like being in a in in a in a
2:04:26 in an area of discomfort I'm comfortable
2:04:28 with the uncomfortable I am I'll say it
2:04:31 right now I'll brag about it I'll do it
2:04:34 I'll do it I like to learn things all
2:04:37 right next you want to see this oh my
2:04:41 God
2:04:43 another what industries do you work at
2:04:45 design no gaming no technology sort of
2:04:49 marketing sort of e-commerce no that's
2:04:52 good
2:04:53 H what tools are you familiar with figma
2:04:56 Photoshop I'm familiar with those canva
2:05:00 mid Journey
2:05:03 Miro can I be done
2:05:06 now oh my God join the wait list
2:05:11 Jesus retr Punk do you have do you have
2:05:14 an invite code for me come on man what
2:05:17 do I have to say describe your creative
2:05:20 background and your interest in testing
2:05:23 oh my
2:05:26 god I'm an entrepreneur and
2:05:30 incorporating AI in everything I
2:05:34 do
2:05:36 period I'm also an AI
2:05:40 Community
2:05:43 founder whatever do you have an invite
2:05:46 code no cuz retr Punk didn't give me one
2:05:48 cuz he's really rude wait I'll let you
2:05:51 in sorry forgot about that part oh is
2:05:54 this your thing retr Punk oh that's
2:05:57 super
2:06:01 cool yeah this looks pretty good this
2:06:04 looks pretty good I I assume it's built
2:06:06 on top of stable diffusion yay yay yay
2:06:09 or nay it looks it looks
2:06:14 [Music]
2:06:16 groovy oh you know what I'm going to do
2:06:19 I am going to add it to
2:06:26 my bookmarks
2:06:35 because that that electrician yep so the
2:06:39 will it read electrical drawings it
2:06:41 sounds like the answer is yes I ended up
2:06:44 using chat GPT daily very quickly then I
2:06:47 bit the bullet and subscribed yep that
2:06:49 sounds about right well it is it's so
2:06:51 funny like once you sort of get over
2:06:54 the thinking about it kind of like a
2:06:57 parlor trick like like a a toy and once
2:07:00 you go oh let me try this for work and
2:07:01 then you realize oh it's really good at
2:07:04 the work stuff then you go okay I got to
2:07:08 I got to dig deeper on this and then and
2:07:10 then you figure out well
2:07:13 it's it demos well for the work stuff
2:07:16 and then you got to you got to work with
2:07:17 it to get it to do good work stuff I
2:07:19 sent an invite to email Oops I did it
2:07:23 again okay cool um let me see let me go
2:07:27 grab
2:07:40 it I don't got
2:07:43 it I ain't got it I ain't got
2:07:47 nothing did you say send it to email or
2:07:52 to Discord retr Punk anyway all right
2:07:56 we'll go get
2:07:58 it um Kyle wait I have coid right now
2:08:01 what was that Story vine okay cool I'll
2:08:04 go check it out uh uh uh I have Co right
2:08:07 now and feel horrible oh that sucks does
2:08:09 that make it better no it doesn't that's
2:08:11 horrible I'm a fan of yours I do not
2:08:15 want anyone here to have coid so I'm
2:08:17 sorry you feel shitty that sucks
2:08:21 um yes transcription yeah I don't I I
2:08:24 don't know I don't know cam on the
2:08:26 transcription stuff I don't know what to
2:08:28 tool to use the there's I mean here's
2:08:30 the
2:08:31 deal I suppose I suppose the answer is
2:08:35 if otter feels like it has the the
2:08:38 capabilities that do what you need it to
2:08:41 do and it functions in that role great
2:08:45 and then if something better comes along
2:08:46 great I would I would again just
2:08:48 recommend going month to month and not
2:08:50 not doing not going for the year
2:08:52 discount I'm going to X tweet him
2:08:54 tomorrow and invite him here okay good
2:08:57 Nancy you know Sam I listen it's I you
2:09:01 can tell him it's okay if he's jealous
2:09:02 of me but just give me my [ __ ]
2:09:07 toys I would love to have Sam Alman come
2:09:10 here that would be [ __ ] wild actually
2:09:13 I'd love to have samman come speak to
2:09:14 the AI Salon um I think he's a little
2:09:17 busy though but but but uh that's
2:09:20 great um that's awesome um was reading
2:09:25 Gemini would have four levels with otter
2:09:27 bison and unicorn I have no idea what
2:09:29 they are that's really
2:09:33 funny that's really
2:09:36 good
2:09:41 um IDE gram how do I get an invite to
2:09:44 join I think you just join oh maybe
2:09:47 maybe they're overloaded
2:09:54 just make sure you're going to the right
2:09:55 thing it's idag
2:09:57 aai and then I think you just sign up if
2:10:02 if um I if it's very possible so what's
2:10:07 happening with a lot of these tools is
2:10:09 they launch for free and then if they're
2:10:12 good people inundate them and then
2:10:15 they're like oh [ __ ] now we got to
2:10:16 restrict access and then they go to a
2:10:18 paid model so if they're restricting
2:10:20 access then it probably means that idag
2:10:23 will be free for another month and then
2:10:25 that that jig will be up I ended up
2:10:27 making a Google form with prompts I use
2:10:30 daily for work yep I'm about up to about
2:10:34 11 tasks yeah so so
2:10:37 Albert are you how are you using the
2:10:40 Google form are you taking the inputs
2:10:41 from the Google form and sending it to
2:10:43 open
2:10:44 AI I've made a bunch of those kind of um
2:10:48 content generation tools using that
2:10:50 warning Kyle I just did it waiting
2:10:55 list oh warning Kyle I just did it
2:10:57 waiting list um main difference in model
2:11:01 iterations are usually amount of
2:11:04 data and data types and model size yep
2:11:09 that screen tried to warn you what
2:11:12 screen what screen are you talking
2:11:15 about I'll let you in sorry you forgot
2:11:17 about that let me go see if I got your
2:11:24 email oh retr punk where it ain't
2:11:29 there is it did you get
2:11:32 no I don't see it retro punk I got
2:11:36 nothing I got
2:11:41 nothing AI interaction oh wait unless
2:11:45 what's it called
2:11:47 Kia Kaa
2:11:52 Korea oh someone invited you to Korea
2:11:56 okay following invite code cool hang
2:12:02 on enter your code here thank you for
2:12:05 the code
2:12:09 boom I'm
2:12:14 in create and organize your projects
2:12:17 here AI training
2:12:21 yeah so this is this is similar
2:12:25 to invite up to three users to join
2:12:29 crea's beta so this is similar to
2:12:32 Leonardo it looks like it's
2:12:34 a light lightweight
2:12:38 interface to Leonardo which is cool
2:12:42 because Leonardo while Leonardo is
2:12:43 really powerful it's it's a little
2:12:46 complicated make this training private
2:12:49 style person object we'll go style enter
2:12:54 uh we'll do KS
2:12:57 clouds
2:13:00 description Kyle
2:13:03 Shannon uh
2:13:07 landcape
2:13:10 photo
2:13:12 graphy upload images does it tell me how
2:13:16 many I can upload I assume it's 25
2:13:23 clouds No
2:13:29 Skies
2:13:30 [Music]
2:13:32 no photograph
2:13:36 graphy name contains photography what
2:13:41 why did I spell that wrong hang
2:13:44 [Music]
2:13:47 ony
2:14:07 [Music]
2:14:17 h
2:14:28 oh that's a cute little
2:14:32 doggy so where are
2:14:44 these oh here we go dramatic Skies okay
2:14:49 uh there's a bunch of these that
2:14:56 [Music]
2:14:58 are
2:15:00 open oh that was quick that's nice
2:15:03 upload
2:15:04 images we'll go purples we'll grab
2:15:08 handful more of those we'll go
2:15:10 open we'll go upload we'll
2:15:14 go we'll go Fire in the Sky we'll grab a
2:15:17 pile of those
2:15:19 we'll go upload images we'll go
2:15:24 golden grab a pile of
2:15:28 those 36 images
2:15:33 uploaded pretty right pretty
2:15:37 pictures we'll go upload we'll go do I
2:15:40 want panoramas yeah there's some good
2:15:41 ones in there let me grab the
2:15:44 panoramas uh uh 47 uploaded we'll go
2:15:48 upload we'll go blue and
2:15:52 gold all right so there's a big old pile
2:15:55 of
2:15:59 images all right so now what do I
2:16:07 do oh upload images oh
2:16:12 no what I do what do I
2:16:16 do I don't know what to do retr punk
2:16:20 retr punk help me where's the button
2:16:23 where's the button that says
2:16:25 train or is it just doing
2:16:28 it AI training my AI trainings your
2:16:32 trainings will appear
2:16:34 here you have five trainings left train
2:16:37 with your own images oh did I just lose
2:16:39 all that oh I just lost all that dang it
2:16:43 all right welcome back to
2:16:45 it
2:16:46 um all right all right that looks pretty
2:16:48 cool listen the the ability to train
2:16:52 images is is really cool it's actually
2:16:55 kind of hard to do with stable diffusion
2:16:56 and stuff like that so that looks pretty
2:16:58 cool all
2:17:00 right let's see
2:17:02 1022 what channel is better to fill out
2:17:04 an application if you need a job what
2:17:07 channel is better to fill out thank you
2:17:09 hair growth geek I appreciate that what
2:17:11 channel is better to fill out an
2:17:13 application if you need a job I don't
2:17:16 know what you mean what channel I'm not
2:17:18 sure what you
2:17:20 [Music]
2:17:28 mean my son almost has a doctorate in
2:17:31 Pharmacy the irony is his mother is the
2:17:35 why I don't have mine too oh that's
2:17:39 that's
2:17:41 wild I ended up making a Google form
2:17:44 with prompts I use for daily work I'm up
2:17:47 to about 11 ta asks oh we talked about
2:17:50 that one what's the best chat
2:17:53 GPT I I went through a bunch of those
2:17:56 there's seven of them that I think are
2:17:57 worth paying attention to right now chat
2:18:00 GPT Bard and Claude are the top
2:18:06 three
2:18:08 um Co if you have it now you have an
2:18:11 edge you're building your immunity for
2:18:13 flu season that's a good point I want an
2:18:16 AI to search s scientific journals so
2:18:19 cam have you seen the um there are
2:18:22 scientific journal plugins in chat GPT
2:18:26 go look at them look how cool these
2:18:28 are now I don't know I don't know
2:18:32 scientific journals so again this is
2:18:35 this is uh the blind leading the the
2:18:39 cited if you know about scientific
2:18:43 journals um
2:18:45 science search over 250 million
2:18:48 scientific papers so this one's called
2:18:50 science unearth precise academic
2:18:53 research research by Vector I don't know
2:18:56 if it's any
2:18:58 good um and then there's one other one
2:19:00 that I know searches uh like archive
2:19:04 which is a lot of the AI ones X papers
2:19:06 is that the archive one yeah
2:19:09 effortlessly find okay so then we can
2:19:14 say
2:19:16 um
2:19:22 what are the most interesting
2:19:26 papers
2:19:30 on machine learning and video
2:19:34 processing from the last
2:19:39 month and then this should fire off it
2:19:42 it might fire off all three of these
2:19:44 plugins it should fire off at least one
2:19:52 okay the XP papers plug-in is
2:19:55 unreachable so let me go let me go turn
2:19:58 that one
2:20:00 off oh oh internet remember when I said
2:20:04 these things are janky pieces of
2:20:07 [ __ ] here's ml paper reader all right
2:20:11 we'll we'll we'll try another one uh
2:20:13 what did I say um what are the most
2:20:16 interesting papers on machine learning
2:20:19 and video processing from the past
2:20:24 month it's possible that um plugins are
2:20:30 down all right using research by Vector
2:20:33 remember when I said I don't know if
2:20:34 this one's any good at least it works or
2:20:36 at least it says it's
2:20:43 working it seems that there are no
2:20:46 specific papers from AR archive in the
2:20:50 past month that's [ __ ]
2:20:56 uh are there any papers on machine
2:20:59 learning in the past
2:21:05 [Music]
2:21:08 month this might be a total bust but
2:21:11 this is at least worth you exploring
2:21:15 cam cam catkin cam katkin from
2:21:20 Cleveland meet you in the
2:21:23 cafeteria it appears there are no
2:21:25 specific papers from archive okay we're
2:21:27 going to turn off the um research by
2:21:31 Vector plugin because it appears it
2:21:36 sucks we'll leave on science we'll turn
2:21:38 off research by vectors it it the
2:21:42 plugins are just not great right
2:21:46 now are there any interesting
2:21:50 papers about machine learning and video
2:21:53 processing from the past
2:22:00 month come on do something this is the
2:22:03 science
2:22:04 plugin find
2:22:07 something oh it's doing it twice that
2:22:10 could be a good
2:22:12 sign you can go look you can go open
2:22:14 these and see what they're doing no I
2:22:16 got an API error on the first
2:22:20 one this one got a response invalid
2:22:23 query parameters so at least it's trying
2:22:25 again search oh it got something here
2:22:29 are some interesting papers combining
2:22:30 deep learning with knowledge graph for
2:22:34 design acquisition and conceptual
2:22:35 product
2:22:37 design now let's go see if these
2:22:39 actually linked to
2:22:42 papers yes indeed yay you did it yeah
2:22:47 yay I like
2:22:50 toles okay so the science plugin
2:22:54 seems somewhat useful but I would
2:22:57 imagine that there's a whole pile of
2:22:59 plugins in there to test so just go find
2:23:01 one that
2:23:02 works there you go all right listen
2:23:05 people I'm getting a little tired I'm
2:23:08 getting a little sleepy I'm getting a
2:23:09 little sleep you know what I'm saying
2:23:12 you know what I'm saying I don't know
2:23:14 why you people hang out with me over and
2:23:16 over again I don't why you do it I do
2:23:18 not know you people are
2:23:21 strange you're not odd you're irregular
2:23:27 yay y'all are
2:23:30 great all right 17 States and FTC is
2:23:34 suing Amazon for oh yeah yeah Amazon and
2:23:38 Google are both getting anti- trusted
2:23:40 right now which you know they've been
2:23:43 they've been they've been doing some
2:23:45 pretty monopolistic [ __ ] I mean
2:23:48 Amazon using their data to understand
2:23:51 what are the most prolific selling
2:23:54 products and then making their own
2:23:56 product line to undercut all those
2:23:59 products that's pretty [ __ ]
2:24:01 monopolistic
2:24:04 so mods and Irregulars present Turtles
2:24:08 all right Becky R She Blinded with me Me
2:24:11 With Science and defeated me with AI
2:24:14 That's good all right everyone it's
2:24:16 under settings in beta yeah cam katkin
2:24:18 so so um go to your settings in chat GPT
2:24:22 and then go to Beta and turn on plugins
2:24:25 and turn on code interpreter and if you
2:24:28 have other [ __ ] cuz Sam Alman likes you
2:24:29 better than he likes me turn on that
2:24:31 stuff too and then that'll give you
2:24:32 access to those things so what you do
2:24:34 with plugins is you enable them in
2:24:36 settings and then you go to the plugin
2:24:38 Store and search for like science or
2:24:41 papers and it'll give you a bunch of
2:24:43 them and then just um install the ones
2:24:46 you think look interesting and then I
2:24:48 would enable them one by one and just
2:24:50 test them and see which one actually
2:24:52 gives you what you need Sherry Banks
