8:10 um the thing sitting underneath Bard
8:13 right now is Gemini plus there's three
8:16 Geminis so if you go to b.google.r
8:26 but it's
8:28 slower and
8:30 I haven't been impressed by it it's okay
8:32 but you know I've got chat GPT 4
8:37 so I don't need another thing almost as
8:40 good as chat gbt
8:42 3.5
8:44 um I am kind of excited about Gemini
8:49 Nano which is the one that's designed to
8:51 be installed on phones so you can run
8:54 them locally without an internet
8:55 connection that I think is actually
8:57 really important and then Gemini Ultra
9:01 depending on how much of it is vapor
9:03 Weare or not looks really really
9:06 impressive um and it looks like a new
9:08 paradigm but we're not going to get to
9:10 play with it for a while so I think that
9:14 um I think that Google felt that they
9:17 had
9:18 to at least announce it even if they
9:20 couldn't um launch it
9:24 because open AI is in a slightly weak
9:28 position it was funny right before
9:29 before I came on I saw a a tweet a post
9:33 on
9:34 X isn't it just easier to call it a
9:37 tweet if they CH he he changed it now
9:41 they're called posts but you have you
9:42 post everywhere you you only tweet on
9:46 tweet place but now tweet place is not

12:17 they're actually moving around an
12:18 interface I think I think that's that
12:21 looks real to me

14:08 things one
14:10 is it's truly
14:12 multimodal meaning so so chat gp4 right
14:16 now can talk it can hear but only in the
14:20 G in the IOS app or in their mobile apps
14:24 it can see and it can make images on the
14:28 website but but it can't you it can't
14:31 hear audio files on the web and it can't
14:35 deal with video can't generate it it
14:38 can't see it so Gemini is designed from
14:41 the ground up to be multimodal
14:44 so what we're looking at here I think
14:48 well
14:49 so this is all speculation and if Pat's
14:53 in here he could he could maybe confirm
14:55 nor deny nor deny what my my specul is
15:00 this is uh this is speculation Central
15:02 here my speculation is this is one of
15:05 the interfaces that we'll have for for
15:09 uh Gemini Ultra and it I think there's a
15:13 a a scrolling one kind of like chat GPT
15:16 but what this interface is so this is
15:18 kind of like one of those scrolling
15:20 Infinite Canvas things where see all
15:22 these objects these are all active
15:25 objects on a canvas and so now let me go
15:29 back to this let's see if our multimodal
15:32 model Gemini okay so see what she just
15:34 did see how there's a little hand
15:36 here and
15:40 um and she's kind of scrolling around
15:43 this similarities between images right
15:46 we'll start with these two the B just
15:48 chapel and this okay now look what she
15:50 just did so she's scrolling around this
15:54 interface where she's plopped a bunch of
15:56 images so imagine like a mood
15:59 board but the mood board is fully GPT
16:04 enabled and so she she draws a little
16:07 Marquee around those two images and it
16:11 pops up ask Gemini that's pretty slick
16:15 right um will we have to wear Google
16:18 class yes yes you can only see this in
16:20 Google class and you you can only
16:23 manipulate it by pinching in the air so
16:26 you look absolutely ridiculous at the
16:28 cafe print by Hokusai and I'll promp
16:31 Gemini find a connection between these
16:33 two images let's see what Gemini says
16:37 now you can't really see it but right
16:39 here there's a little progress animation
16:42 doing
16:45 this a curved in organic composition and
16:48 so see how it's kind of you know writing
16:50 the tokens about the speed of cat gp4
16:53 that seems decently realistic to me so
16:55 this interface is draw a marquee around
16:57 some objects you interact with them and
17:00 then it does some
17:02 [ __ ] the building is more refined and
17:05 the second image is more fluid yeah that
17:08 worked okay let's try another one using
17:11 the moon and this golf ball on my webcam

17:19 right this little Windows her webcam she
17:21 plopped onto this canvas that's a photo
17:23 of the Moon and now she's just
17:25 highlighting part of her webcam so just
17:27 part of the image that she wants

17:38 surface wow that's pretty good so that's
17:41 it and it can do you know it can do that
17:43 with video it can do some reasoning kind

18:29 so apparently the so so I think this is
18:32 sped up and I I don't think the this
18:35 voice inter I think the voice is added

18:39 didn't read the whole article Kevin
18:40 Vasquez sent me an article that talks
18:43 about all this so I think this is mostly
18:45 marketing stuff
18:47 but it this is this is kind of the
18:50 interface that they showed before where
18:52 there's there's kind of that Marquee
18:54 around that shape so so who knows what's
18:58 real so so I'll play I'll play some of
19:00 this for you um just know that it's
19:03 probably sped up it probably does some
19:05 version of this but take a look at
19:09 um take a look at this right because
19:13 even if it only does some amount of this
19:15 it's still pretty impressive what it's
19:17 going to do are smooth and flowing with
19:20 no sharp angles or Jagged
19:23 edges it looks like a bird to me hm what
19:26 if I add this
19:29 the bird is swimming in the water it has
19:31 a long neck and Beak it is a duck yes a
19:34 duck is a type of waterfoul in the
19:36 family in aday ducks are closely related
19:39 to geese and swans the duck appears to
19:42 be blue this is not a common color for
19:44 ducks however there are some breeds of
19:46 blue ducks these are typically not as so
19:49 so the other thing that I'm noticing
19:51 here is as he's changing the image it's
19:53 it's doing analysis right so it's it's
19:55 analyzing the video very very quickly
19:58 it's it's not like you put in a video
20:00 frame take a still of it and submit it
20:02 it it's if you're analyzing video it
20:05 looks like it's doing it essentially in
20:07 real time but again we don't know what's
20:09 real here or not common as other duck

23:06 coral reef Emoji marketing vid like a
23:10 rerun of Bewitched tin tin
23:14 t it's a touchcreen no it's not a
23:16 touchcreen it's so what they've got here
23:18 is they've got a webcam pointing down on
23:20 a desk and and so he's just pointing you
23:24 know on the map on a desk but the webcam
23:26 is above it so that was some of the
23:27 funny com I got yesterday when I was

23:31 mount a webcam above our desk to use
23:33 this thing so just just keep in mind
23:38 this is a marketing video this is
23:40 designed to make this thing look as

25:56 and it's it's rendering images that are
25:59 out of out of those colors and out of
26:01 that you know material is is pretty
26:04 impressive so you know again the the
26:08 question was how's this different than
26:09 chat BT assuming that this is what this
26:12 is it is a true multimodal
26:16 interface like from the ground up so
26:19 it's not you're not starting with a with
26:21 a text scrolling text window like a
26:23 Google Search and then adding oh I can
26:26 upload images or it can generate images
26:28 you're starting sort of from the base
26:30 level of I can drop all sorts of objects
26:33 in here I could drop PDFs in here likely
26:36 I could drop movies in here I can drop a
26:38 webcam in here I can drop images I can
26:41 drop
26:42 music I can drop a recording maybe a
26:45 live microphone feed into this space and
26:49 then I can start interacting with that I
26:52 couldn't get anym in my real life to
26:55 talk I couldn't get anyone in my real
26:57 life to to talk about this today yeah
26:59 we're still very very early people as
27:02 much as it seems like oh my God I'm so
27:04 behind you're not so behind if you're
27:08 here you're ahead or or you know you're
27:12 just baffled that anyone would watch

28:56 young I just missed it
28:59 and then in 1994 I stumbled on this
29:01 thing called the worldwide web and I'm
29:02 like oh this is one of
29:05 those and I started one of the early
29:07 digital agencies and then I thought that
29:09 would be the last time in my life that I
29:11 got to see one of these and then last
29:14 year chat GPT came out and I was like oh
29:17 it's another one we are very very early
29:20 and so when you're this
29:23 early a lot of people don't know
29:26 anything about it
29:29 a lot of people know about it but fear
29:32 it or angry at it they don't want to
29:35 change they don't want it to happen they
29:36 want to make it go away and then there's
29:39 a small group of people that are like
29:42 this seems kind of cool what is
29:45 this hey I have an idea you could make
29:48 money
29:49 with could you make money with this what
29:52 is this how do you do it where do I go
29:55 is there a course did someone make a
29:57 book book
29:59 no no there's no books there's no course
30:03 anyone that's going to teach you in a
30:04 course it's going to be obsolete in
30:06 three months anyway so we're that early
30:08 so what that means is you can just be
30:12 curious about this stuff and know more
30:15 about it than most of the people around
30:17 you and by talking about it you'll
30:19 establish some credibility for yourself
30:22 as someone who's curious and adventurous
30:25 and with a clue about what's coming even
