Description

In this engaging session from the AI Learning Lab, Kyle Shannon explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and human creativity, emphasizing the rising value of authenticity in an increasingly digital world. He discusses the concept of "exponential multipotentialism," where individuals can cultivate multiple skills and express themselves across various mediums, reminiscent of the Renaissance era. The conversation also touches on the importance of empathy in understanding the fears surrounding AI, as well as practical applications for using AI tools in everyday life, such as creating business plans or generating art. With a focus on community and collaboration, Kyle invites viewers to embrace the transformative potential of AI while fostering a supportive environment for exploration and learning. 2:43 [Music]
2:59 something AI can't
3:01 do yeah you
3:03 know I think that um I think the value
3:07 of
3:08 [Music]
3:11 analog actual authent uh
3:15 authenticity a AR actual
3:20 [Music]
3:22 reality I think I think AI is going to
3:25 get really
3:26 [Music]
3:29 exciting
3:33 [Music]
3:37 I think AI is going to get really
3:41 exciting and there's going to be all
3:42 sorts of new forms of expression that
3:46 are super
3:48 exciting and then I think I think
3:51 there's going to be a parallel shift
3:52 back
3:53 to
3:55 analog and in
3:58 person and
4:01 actual
4:03 reality I think the value of
4:05 authenticity goes up did you know that
4:08 the Miriam Webster word of the year for
4:10 2023 was
4:13 authenticity wonder why that could
4:15 [Music]
4:29 be
4:31 [Music]
4:32 yeah you know things like
4:37 Pottery Cory
4:38 Sandler sitting playing in the mud I
4:42 think the value of that goes up in this
4:44 crazy New World we're about to enter and
4:47 and it's not it's not either or and
4:50 there's going to be entirely new forms
4:52 of Art and expression
4:57 and actually something just hit me
5:01 me
5:03 huh I've been talking about I the the
5:07 era the the era that I think we're
5:09 entering so I
5:10 just I just got published in this book
5:13 called AI Futures and Anthology and I
5:17 have the the the chap my chapter is
5:21 called the Great Renaissance
5:25 approaches and what just hit me is that
5:29 there's the phrase you know you know
5:32 being a renaissance man or a Renaissance
5:34 woman being a multi-passionate someone
5:37 who can express in multiple forms and
5:41 what just hit me
5:46 was in the renaissance
5:48 renaissance to be a renaissance man or a
5:51 Renaissance woman you had to be you had
5:53 to gain skills at all these different
5:58 things and that was was a that was a
6:02 very rare
6:04 occurrence and I think why what we're
6:07 entering why I think it's going to be
6:09 the great
6:10 Renaissance is that people having
6:13 multiple
6:15 skills at a very high level is going to
6:18 be
6:19 commonplace that's kind of
6:22 cool huh that just hit
6:27 me it's like you know are you you a
6:30 renaissance man do you want to
6:32 be are you a multi-passionate
6:35 are are you multi-passionate but but you
6:38 know mono um monot talented guess what
6:43 you just leveled
6:45 up so seriously Kyle ever
6:48 [Laughter]
6:52 sleep no I just you
6:57 know I do sleep and what I what I
7:03 do like how I manage this stuff is I
7:07 just I just block it out I like one of
7:09 the one of the one of the things that I
7:11 think is
7:14 just all too often not true is I don't
7:18 have time the phrase I don't have
7:21 time I mean I think there are rare
7:23 occasions where you are so busy in all
7:25 of the hours of all of the day that you
7:27 actually don't have time and then I
7:29 think there's the other
7:32 95% where I don't have time
7:35 means I haven't committed the time and
7:38 so exponential multip potential ISM
7:42 that's a good one lunatick there there's
7:44 an article there's an article and and
7:46 there I I think there is this thing
7:48 about um yeah exponential M multi
7:52 potential ISM it's it's it's it's a
7:54 goodhead word it it' be you know you
7:57 could wrap a whole article around it and
7:59 and I think that's a big change I think
8:01 that's a huge
8:04 change we're exiting the world of The
8:08 Specialist and entering the world of
8:12 the the
8:15 multi multiex
8:20 expressive [ __ ] revenge of the
8:22 liberal arts major man dust off those
8:25 philosophy degrees let's [ __ ]
8:28 go
8:32 welcome everybody my name is Kyle
8:33 Shannon this is the AI learning lab what
8:36 we talk about [ __ ] I'll work on said
8:38 article yeah I think that would be a
8:40 good
8:40 one because the great Renaissance and by
8:43 the way when I say great Renaissance if
8:45 you haven't seen um how I write it
8:48 there's an AI in the middle of the word
8:50 renaissance so the great Renaissance is
8:52 the great
8:54 Renaissance you capitalize those two
8:58 letters
9:02 that's what we're entering that's what
9:03 we're
9:04 entering
9:06 H pretty
9:08 exciting pretty
9:11 good I had an idea I don't know what you
9:13 want to do tonight so the way this works
9:15 is if you really want to do it you'll
9:17 find the time yeah exactly steo that's
9:19 that's the the the old I don't have time
9:22 excuse most of the time is I I haven't
9:25 committed to
9:27 it well what do you mean I'm really busy
9:30 and I need to sleep and I need to get my
9:31 rest yeah how much TV do you
9:35 watch if you watch
9:39 any I also I saw a cool Tik Tok today
9:42 sky was saying if you put in 18 minutes
9:45 a
9:46 day on something for a
9:52 year it gives you about a 100 hours on
9:55 that thing so so if you want to get good
9:57 at juggling or guitar playing or or I
10:00 don't know dog
10:02 Whispering if you put in 18 minutes a
10:06 day at the end of a year you'll be
10:09 better at that thing than 95% of the
10:11 people on the
10:15 planet so think about how much time the
10:18 Irregulars have been putting in here
10:21 we've been do like I would say on
10:23 average this channel it's we're probably
10:27 averaging 2 and 1/2 hours a night and
10:29 there's a thank you very much Megan
10:31 there's a fair amount of people that
10:32 show up here every [ __ ] night
10:35 including including
10:40 myself so so we're we're well above we
10:44 are well above the 100 hours Mark a lot
10:47 of
10:48 us because I know a lot of you are
10:50 putting in time significantly Beyond
10:52 this channel this Channel's just like
10:54 your you know your sleeping pill thank
10:57 you Ron every everyone I encouraged gpt2
11:01 today was negative sad yeah so so energy
11:05 pocr off
11:08 t-shirts I don't know what the [ __ ] your
11:10 name means although I assume it means
11:12 you're selling stuff
11:16 um
11:19 the the experience of just saying just
11:22 just showing
11:24 someone gpts and expecting them to dig
11:26 it is increasingly I'm hearing people
11:29 are negative to it I I think the I think
11:32 the only path to get someone to really
11:34 be able to see what AI is about is to
11:38 hear hear what they have to say about
11:41 what why they don't like it or why
11:44 they're afraid of it or why they're
11:45 angry at it and really have that
11:47 conversation
11:49 first and really take them in it's it's
11:52 one of the reasons that the one of the
11:54 values in the AI Salon is empathy is
11:57 that I think that
12:00 there just there's a lot of fear and
12:01 there's as as 2024 gets more and more
12:05 weird that that gap between people that
12:08 are into it and people that aren't is
12:10 going to get bigger cuz it's going to
12:12 seem farther and farther away it's going
12:13 to seem scarier and
12:18 scarier so so I I I think we all have to
12:22 work on our empathy skills
12:24 to just listen just
12:28 listen yeah I can see why you'd be
12:30 scared of that oh yeah yeah I'd be
12:32 pissed off too that makes perfect
12:35 sense huh do you know how they
12:38 work no I could tell you I mean doesn't
12:41 matter if like if you don't want to talk
12:43 about it that's cool too
12:45 but they don't copy and paste what do
12:47 you mean they don't copy and paste
12:49 they're stealing people's artwork well
12:50 it's not really how it
12:55 works we are are we capitalizing on
12:58 those two letters are we capitalizing
13:01 those two
13:03 letters in in uh the great Renaissance I
13:07 did here look
13:12 so so this is this is the book that um
13:17 that Cindy Coon's publishing company
13:19 just put out um that I have a piece in
13:23 and there's my
13:25 mug here
13:28 is
13:33 that's how I spell
13:34 it the great Renaissance approaches what
13:39 2023 what the new
13:42 1995 oh hey there mark oh
13:47 hey so yeah so if you if you're if
13:50 you're interested in this
13:52 essay um I sort of give the history of
13:55 you know my my experience with just
13:58 missing the early days of the PC
14:01 Revolution um just catching the early
14:04 days of the worldwide
14:06 web and what a surreal trip that was and
14:12 then stumbling into this AI stuff and
14:14 realizing oh [ __ ] here's another one so
14:17 that's what this this article is
14:19 about um so you can find this on Amazon
14:22 AI Futures and
14:24 Anthology um I think there's a link to
14:27 it in the AI Salon but but I think I've
14:31 been a bad marketer and might not have
14:33 put it there is that going to be
14:34 available on Kindle I assume so it's
14:38 part of Kindle it's part of Kindle
14:41 publishing Kindle Direct
14:44 publishing so I assume I assume by
14:47 default if it's Kindle Direct publishing
14:49 that there's you can get a Kindle
14:50 version of it and if uh if Cindy Coon's
14:54 in here I know she's over in the Far
14:56 East right now so but she she said cuz
14:59 cuz the other night I said something
15:01 that was not quite accurate about the
15:03 book so she goes I was listening in from
15:05 Thailand and she goes when you talk
15:07 about the book you can say this I was
15:09 like oh
15:10 cool so I know she was popping in here
15:13 but anyway really really cool um so what
15:17 I figured we'd do tonight is we can go
15:20 one of two
15:22 directions we haven't done a deep dive
15:25 into oh wait I lost my dual camera we
15:27 haven't done a deep dive into
15:30 um into chat GPT in a while and so we
15:34 could just sort of start at chat GPT 3.5
15:36 and work our way
15:38 out um or I was also thinking it might
15:41 be interesting to have chat GPT write us
15:45 a um a whole bunch of
15:49 prompts for like 10 images and then and
15:53 then you know find a couple that we like
15:56 and then take the best prompt and
16:00 generate images across a whole a bunch
16:02 of different tools and and maybe even
16:04 then take those images that we generate
16:06 across tools and take them to a bunch of
16:09 video tools and make videos so we can go
16:11 either way or we can do whatever we can
16:14 I don't really give a [ __ ] we can do
16:15 whatever you want to do can lay people
16:18 really do anything with AI though it
16:20 seems more of a science tool a shoe no
16:22 no no no no please please yes yes lay
16:26 people can do things with AI That's what
16:29 this whole Channel's about no the so
16:32 just time out time out the I think
16:36 that's one of the big fears is that only
16:38 scientists can do something with
16:41 AI I would argue that scientists are
16:44 going to be the ones that build the
16:45 foundational models and build a lot of
16:47 the infrastructure that we'll be able to
16:49 use but what chat GPT
16:52 represents is real people just using
16:56 words can make applications can make
17:00 images can make music can make movies
17:03 can do data
17:05 analysis so
17:07 absolutely absolutely the lay person can
17:10 use AI like 1,00% that's what this
17:14 channel is about that's what the AI
17:16 salon's
17:18 about you can be super geeky and be part
17:21 of the AI Salon but you don't have to be
17:23 it's not that kind of
17:25 [Laughter]
17:27 crowd um so by the way
17:30 way if you're curious what the hell I'm
17:32 talking about the salon. if you go to
17:35 the salon. go to that URL Point your
17:38 browser there and that will take you
17:43 to um a link
17:46 tree that looks like this hello hello
17:49 hello and this first link is to the AI
17:52 Salon community and when you go
17:55 there it'll take you to the welcome to
17:57 the salon page where where you'll see
17:59 this picture again a community of
18:01 extraordinary a AI extraordinary
18:04 adventurers exploring the AI unknown
18:08 so this is a group that I started with
18:12 Leah fast and professional professional
18:14 photographer out of Boston we started
18:16 this the week after CH chat GPT came
18:20 out because we sensed that this was
18:24 going to
18:25 be a big thing AI
18:29 and people were going to need community
18:32 and they were going to need to figure it
18:33 out poll is live all right what's the
18:35 poll what poll we got going
18:37 here all right so over there do I have
18:41 to do anything to turn it on I don't
18:42 think I do over in that corner is a like
18:45 a angled blue and white piece of paper
18:47 it's a poll you got a minute left what
18:50 should we do tonight start from the
18:51 beginning image Deep dive custom GPT
18:55 more champy something else and then you
18:58 can comment on that and we got right now
19:01 something else is leading but just jump
19:03 into that poll and we'll sort of we'll
19:06 we'll we'll let you guys direct where we
19:07 go
19:09 tonight we we can talk we can talk
19:13 philosophy if you want to the LA last
19:15 night or two's been been hot and heavy
19:17 on the philosophy thing last night it
19:19 was good well Kyle if you're talking
19:21 about uh improving yourself uh what if
19:23 people from your past think you're an
19:25 [ __ ] well you
19:27 know
19:31 shit's G to
19:37 happen I think I think that person asked
19:39 something like have you ever been out of
19:41 Integrity have you ever done anything
19:42 that hurt someone I'm like have you ever
19:48 not are you a
19:55 robot 4 seconds left get get get your V
19:58 votes in all right 30
20:01 votes looks like people want to play
20:04 around with custom gpts all right we can
20:07 do that we can dig into
20:08 that but an image Deep dive is
20:11 interesting well we can you know what we
20:12 can do is we can play with gpts
20:15 and and dig a little bit into chat GPT
20:17 and then maybe we can flip over and do
20:19 some image stuff so anyway
20:24 um if you are curious about Ai and
20:28 especially if you're one of those people
20:29 that's really curious about it and no
20:31 one in your life gives a [ __ ] or worse
20:32 yet they're like could you please shut
20:35 up about AI I don't care about your
20:37 stupid AI get out of my face if you
20:41 experience that conversation more than
20:43 once a week um this is the group for you
20:48 um and what I want you to
20:50 do is um is come here read read about
20:54 the salon read about what we're up to
20:56 why we started it um and and then what
20:58 our values are things like curiosity and
21:01 generosity like like people in this
21:03 community are sharing what they're
21:05 learning in real time yay to both okay
21:08 great um that's a really important value
21:12 of this community exploration is one you
21:15 know we want people that are adventurous
21:16 not people that are just scared and on
21:18 the sidelines right we want people to
21:19 step off the sidelines onto the
21:22 field congratulation to the San
21:25 Francisco 49ers who are heading to the
21:27 Super Bowl at as our Taylor Swift's
21:31 team so congratulations to to the
21:36 football team and and the side hobby of
21:39 Taylor
21:40 [Laughter]
21:46 Swift oh man um collaboration is also
21:51 one of our values inclusion is one of
21:53 our values because everyone's coming
21:55 from everywhere everyone's being
21:56 impacted by this AI stuff so
21:59 everyone's going to be impacted and then
22:00 empathy that was what we were talking
22:02 about earlier that that
22:07 really I I think that a an increasingly
22:12 important part of the conversation in
22:14 the salon right now is how are people
22:17 doing how are you dealing with this like
22:19 even the people that are super excited
22:21 about this and have leaned way in and
22:23 are doing all the stuff are also kind of
22:26 like holy [ __ ] this is intense there's a
22:28 lot there's a lot even if what is
22:31 happening to you is really good like
22:33 you're becoming a multi-passionate and
22:35 you've got all these new
22:36 skills how do you assimilate that if if
22:40 for your entire life you said I do this
22:42 one thing and now all of a sudden you
22:44 can do 10 things and you're digging
22:47 it how do how do you process that right
22:49 so I I think I think understanding that
22:53 people are going through some [ __ ] good
22:55 and bad with this is is actually really
22:57 critical and then if you dig what we're
23:00 up to Great come join us and the first
23:03 place I want you to go is introduce
23:04 yourself go to the introduce yourself
23:11 section and do that and embrace our
23:15 value of
23:16 generosity and like tell us who you are
23:19 tell us what you do tell us what your
23:20 background is where are you with AI are
23:23 you a complete newbie which is totally
23:25 cool you will not be judged here or
23:28 maybe you've been doing this for 15
23:30 years and you're all cynical and bitter
23:32 because you've been at it for 15 years
23:34 and all of a sudden everyone's like oh
23:35 AI is so cool you're like yeah I was
23:37 saying that 15 years
23:39 ago my buddy Richard Boyd's been in it
23:41 for like 20 years he's a little pissed
23:44 off he's like yeah yeah this is what
23:47 I've been talking about for two
23:48 [Laughter]
23:53 decades but what's different is chat GPT
23:56 chat GPT changed everything
24:00 all I see is AI is going to impact so
24:03 much and Ubi won't be afforded because
24:06 we'll need some major shift yeah ASU I I
24:11 wouldn't I wouldn't let that stop you
24:16 right there there's going to be a lot of
24:18 change it's it's going to come quick but
24:20 there's also the inertia of business
24:24 is is is big and profound right so the
24:28 inertia of big companies mean that
24:30 things aren't going to change overnight
24:32 what it means is anyone who is AI
24:35 literate in the next 18 months is going
24:36 to have massive
24:38 opportunity and that's what we can
24:40 control right
24:42 now right unless you're in government
24:44 and drafting up Ubi
24:47 proposals that's out of our control if
24:49 you are in that great go do
24:51 that but in the meantime get AI
24:53 illiterate don't let it stop you this is
24:55 amazing but overwhelming that every week
24:58 Everything Changes Cosmic lover
25:02 I
25:04 yes I
25:07 like I'm glad I'm I I'm glad I've put
25:11 the discipline of showing up here every
25:14 night in my life
25:18 because it's it's a lot it's a lot and
25:23 and 2024 hasn't really started yet in
25:27 terms of the AI progress
25:30 stuff I canceled my Netflix and
25:33 subscribed to chat GPT Pro no regrets so
25:36 much better Peter that is so [ __ ]
25:38 cool so much better value awesome that
25:42 so so what Peter just said there you
25:45 know this is the you know I don't have
25:46 time for AI well cancel your Netflix
25:49 subscription and put that money towards
25:52 towards uh towards chat jpt yeah I would
25:55 agree I would argue Peter best best in
25:58 investment you could make that 20 bucks
26:00 for chat GPT plus is the best deal in
26:03 software it's the best investment anyone
26:05 can make right now in my opinion I'm a
26:07 software engineer at General Electric
26:10 Aerospace oh that's super cool
26:12 James I what one of the things that
26:15 fascinates me about people who've been
26:17 you know deep in the Science World for a
26:19 long long time because listen ai's been
26:21 around for [ __ ] ever right what's
26:24 different is generative Ai and what's
26:26 really different is the simple interface
26:29 right the the the thing that chat GPT
26:32 revealed to the to the world once again
26:36 uh that is important is interface and if
26:39 you do something really simple that
26:40 people can
26:42 access it makes big things different I'm
26:44 always always curious for people who've
26:46 been deep in the Science World for a
26:48 long time like how different is it like
26:50 how different has this last year
26:55 been because of generative AI versus
26:59 whatever you've been working on that's
27:01 fascinating so anyway yeah I would love
27:03 love to hear what you're up to Mr it I
27:06 canceled my Direct TV this is awesome
27:08 we're [ __ ] taking down we're taking
27:10 down broadcast TV one one user at a time
27:14 here that's [ __ ] awesome oh man is
27:18 that the Discord this is actually um we
27:20 switched from Discord to Mighty networks
27:23 and so think of Mighty networks as a
27:25 web-based Discord kind of somewhere
27:27 between disc and Facebook is mighty
27:29 networks um so there's similar to
27:32 Discord there's a bunch of different
27:33 channels down the left hand
27:35 side grouped into what I think what are
27:38 called uh collections so like the
27:41 community collection there's a water
27:43 cooler chat there's a showand tell
27:44 Channel which becomes kind of a jam
27:47 session during these lives oh that's
27:49 really cool jack of all trades master of
27:52 the all who did
27:56 this oh oh a human being that's that's
27:59 [ __ ] brilliant that's it this is this
28:02 is where we're headed that's that's so
28:05 good that's so good jack of all trades
28:08 master of them all that's so good this
28:11 is this is what starts in
28:18 2024 holy [ __ ] that's so
28:22 cool the irony is that the age of AI is
28:25 coming to us through a Dos interface
28:28 yeah well that's going to change Todd if
28:29 you looked at the Gemini Ultra demo even
28:33 though that was sort of [ __ ] on for you
28:35 know they fake faked a lot of the video
28:36 stuff the interface for Gemini Ultra at
28:39 least one of the interfaces is like a
28:42 big Infinite Canvas where you can just
28:44 drop a bunch of objects on them and then
28:46 interact with those objects so I think
28:48 we very very very very quickly go from
28:53 um a dos-like interface into much more
28:56 intuitive
28:59 interfaces can you say a bit more about
29:01 the community platform change from
29:03 Discord please absolutely so um so
29:06 there's there's a couple of things about
29:08 Discord that we didn't like um one
29:14 is if you're not coming from The Gaming
29:17 Community a lot of people don't know
29:23 Discord it's it's a it's an okay
29:27 community platform but it doesn't have
29:30 things like threaded discussions so one
29:32 of the real Great frustrations of
29:34 Discord is that someone would go in and
29:38 they'd post you know like a really
29:39 important post and there was no R way to
29:42 effectively pin it I know discords added
29:44 some stuff but the interface for their
29:46 threaded conversations was is shitty um
29:50 the other thing about Discord here let
29:52 me let me well I'll just leave it like
29:54 this um the other thing about Discord is
29:57 is it's got a legacy of anonymity and
30:03 one of the things that we wanted to do
30:04 with the AI Salon is have people meet
30:07 one another have people get to know one
30:08 another the the authentic connection
30:11 that this isn't about the tools and the
30:13 technology this is about the people and
30:16 what the people are doing with it and
30:17 how the people are affected and how the
30:19 people are expressing themselves a salon
30:22 right a salon is where people get
30:24 together and exchange
30:25 ideas not not not
30:28 not one where they get their hair and
30:30 nails done and and exchange ideas but
30:32 but more like the you know the 19th
30:34 century idea of the salon right curated
30:39 conversations
30:41 around um whatever the topic of the day
30:45 was um you know bring in interesting
30:48 speakers and and tea up topics and have
30:51 those conversation so so that's what the
30:53 salon is so part of it was about
30:55 accessibility part of it was about trans
30:57 transparency and and human
31:00 connection and then there's just some
31:02 some uh it's it's web based Mighty
31:04 networks is web based the the problem
31:06 with Mighty networks is that it it is
31:09 expensive and and one of the options
31:12 that we had is do we go to a membership
31:15 fee um to support the salon and and we
31:19 we decided we didn't want to do that we
31:21 wanted to make it as accessible as
31:22 possible so we're basically just
31:24 covering that through sponsorships and
31:26 through donation and things like that I
31:29 thought it was the saloon that's great
31:32 there's there's if you go through Show
31:34 and Tell there's actually a lot of
31:35 images of people that make the AI Saloon
31:38 so so you're you're not
31:41 wrong oh that's great oh this is really
31:44 good who did this Mr it I'm an artist
31:47 Abracadabra that's great oh that's
31:50 really sweet we are regulars that's very
31:53 sweet the neighborhood of AI very
31:56 nice the great Renaissance yeah
32:00 baby that's what's
32:03 coming that is what's
32:06 coming so this is the this is the the uh
32:11 the show and tell channel uh and then
32:13 there's also a news channel there's an
32:15 AI tools and resources channel so this
32:17 is what we'll go through when we start
32:19 digging into chat gbt tonight um this
32:22 list is so I sort of really unpack
32:25 here's all the stuff I think you should
32:26 learn in chat GPT it's a lot and then um
32:31 and then there's lots of different other
32:33 large language models there's image
32:35 generation tools there's video
32:37 generation tools music and audio 3D and
32:40 then people to follow so so this list is
32:42 one that if you're just getting up to
32:45 speed that's in here and then the other
32:46 thing that the salon has is guilds and
32:49 the guilds are really starting to take
32:50 on some
32:52 momentum so people who are leaders in
32:54 the community who who've you know
32:56 stepped up and said hey I've got a
32:58 particular passion are the ones leading
33:00 the guilds so these are subcommunities
33:02 within within the community around
33:05 Education and healthc Care and video and
33:08 uh the p p runs the AI mechanics Guild
33:11 if you want to geek out on on the
33:13 technology side of things there's a
33:14 business Guild a writing Guild an Art
33:16 Guild and even a a 101 Guild if you're
33:19 just getting started um or or not only
33:23 if you're just getting started but if
33:24 you want to help people learn about AI
33:27 that's part of Peter
33:29 kaminsky's passion in AI 101 is he wants
33:32 people to come in to learn but then as
33:34 they learn stuff he wants them to then
33:36 teach
33:38 help how do we help support the AI Salon
33:42 oh thank you Megan um you can DM me um
33:47 we're going to so we set up a mechanis
33:50 this it's a real pain in the ass right
33:51 now we set up a mechanism with stripe
33:54 and then when we did our first sort of
33:56 batch of hey do you want to support the
33:58 salon stripe said you're doing
34:00 crowdfunding and I'm like no we've got a
34:02 community and it's not crowdfunding and
34:04 they said well we disagree and so they
34:06 canceled our account so I've got to
34:08 figure out another mechanism to do that
34:10 so if anyone has any ideas on that let
34:11 me know I might I might just end up
34:13 doing a patreon page or crowdfunding
34:15 something or I don't know I haven't
34:16 figured it out yet uh but you can just
34:18 DM me I I appreciate that that's really
34:20 great that's amazing Saloon AI Saloon
34:23 exactly well you know Saloon Salon I
34:25 assume I assume that those you know come
34:28 from similar Roots if not the same
34:31 one um but yeah so go check that out and
34:34 if if you just got here and you're like
34:36 what are you talking about I'm talking
34:38 about that the AI Salon the
34:41 salon. and uh we got a swell swell new
34:47 logo and if you click on that URL if you
34:51 go there it takes you to this link tree
34:52 the other way that you can support the
34:54 salon the uh the merch store down at the
34:56 bottom here any any merchandise that's
34:58 bought um with the salon logo on it that
35:01 goes the the proceeds of all of that
35:03 goes to support the salon infrastructure
35:05 so anyway so that's that all right I
35:08 don't like the front door at the salon.
35:10 a being link tree I spent the last five
35:15 minutes bypassing oh okay well um I
35:20 don't maybe at some point we'll get
35:22 we'll we'll get someone to help us um
35:26 you know make the make the website but
35:28 we just we just really needed to point
35:30 the the primary the primary function of
35:33 this is just to get to um the mighty
35:35 Network so we could also just redirect
35:37 it I suppose um but I I kind of like
35:40 being able to link out to other things
35:42 like we did this GP GPT for good project
35:45 where Ann Murphy and uh myself and then
35:48 Vicky Baptist built this website for
35:51 us and it's a big big old directory of
35:54 gpts that were built for nonprofits in
35:57 24 hours 15050 of them this community
36:00 made super cool anyway but thank you for
36:03 the input on
36:04 that yeah it's not it's not perfect but
36:07 I'll tell you what just get get to the
36:09 salon the salon's really good like it's
36:11 really good we we are we are like 70
36:15 people away from hitting a thousand and
36:17 this thing's only two months old
36:18 thousand members so jump in but again do
36:22 me a
36:23 favor go read about what we're up to
36:26 read about our value make sure this is
36:29 what you're up to this is what you're
36:31 willing to step into if you join
36:34 okay all right would love to see how
36:36 Dolly 3 GPT was
36:40 built um yeah I would like to see that
36:44 too
36:47 although I assume I assume they built
36:50 the dolly3 GPT just like we build
36:56 gpts
37:00 oh that's that's the other thing you
37:01 could do is um if you want to support
37:03 this channel you can subscribe to this
37:04 channel thanks Brandon I forgot about
37:06 that um it's just not obvious that the
37:09 image is the link to the S Salon just my
37:12 humble opinion oh okay well I can turn
37:14 that off here
37:17 watch here's how we do things around
37:19 here you get some feedback you turn that
37:21 [ __ ]
37:23 off
37:25 edmin uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh
37:28 uh uh
37:47 uh boom there you go
37:56 done
38:00 there you go is that is that
38:05 better we we we don't need [ __ ]
38:08 committees you just do [ __ ]
38:11 people build it first figure out if it
38:14 was right
38:17 second I'm gonna be I'm gonna be a bad
38:19 influence on you all screw strategy just
38:22 build [ __ ] perfect okay great awesome
38:25 there you go
38:29 thanks for the feedback okay anyway
38:35 Salon oh there's a cool image we made
38:38 last
38:38 night that actually is a really cool
38:41 image we were talking we were talking
38:43 last night about the the term
38:46 Abracadabra and it means as I speak I
38:52 create
38:54 and we're entering an age where we all
38:57 get to be
38:58 Genies we get to speak [ __ ] into
39:01 existence and
39:03 so as I was waxing philosophic about
39:06 that I just wrote this prompt a
39:11 1971
39:13 chevel with in Olive Green in front of
39:16 the Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas with
39:20 jugglers in the background and blue
39:22 rubber duckies on the pavement in the
39:25 foreground with dramatic lighting I
39:27 think I said and it made this image
39:31 first image just put stupid a stupid
39:35 collection of words together and out
39:37 came that that's pretty [ __ ] swell I
39:40 think
39:43 Abracadabra now that's what I call a
39:45 responsive service I don't know if it's
39:47 better but wow love the experiment yeah
39:50 you know listen I the reason I had that
39:53 big image there as that main image is is
39:56 link tree just added that you can you
39:58 can feature one of your links so that
40:01 it's got a bigger graphic on it
40:03 so maybe I could use that same image but
40:06 I put a giant arrow that says click
40:09 here so people know people know tap
40:14 here oh man I now have 14 gpts I'm on my
40:19 way that's great a human being that's
40:22 it yeah the H the the the gpts if you if
40:26 you haven't played with them yet are
40:27 really worth playing with if for no
40:30 other reason than to
40:33 understand that a new kind of expression
40:35 is possible by the way everyone I do not
40:37 have access still to the new feature of
40:41 chat GPT or I would be playing with it
40:43 let me make sure that I don't but I
40:45 don't think I do at
40:49 nope um so there's a there's a new
40:52 feature in chat
40:54 GPT that you can call a GPT inside of
40:59 chat GPT it anyway it doesn't [ __ ]
41:01 matter because there's probably people
41:03 here going I don't even know what a GPT
41:05 is what's chat GPT who are you what are
41:07 you saying what are these words ready
41:09 fire aim that's my motto exactly Source
41:13 camp we now have the tools to be able to
41:16 ready ready fire aim because it used to
41:19 be if you ready fired aim and you made a
41:21 mistake that you would have to invest
41:24 two months into you know putting the
41:26 thing in the world and now you can put
41:29 two hours into putting the thing in the
41:30 world and if it ends up not being the
41:32 right thing [ __ ] it flush it down the
41:33 toilet and put another thing out there
41:35 what's the new feature so the new
41:37 feature
41:38 is I can be in a in a chat GPT
41:41 conversation and I've got I built a I
41:44 built a GPT for
41:46 example that lets you explore um Biden's
41:50 executive order on artificial
41:52 intelligence and and so it's it's built
41:54 in so if I were working working on a
41:57 paper or something like that or you know
41:59 an
42:00 article and I wanted to know what was
42:02 going on there well I could go find a
42:04 site that's got it and download it and
42:06 upload it and this and that but I know
42:07 I've already got that GPT already
42:09 prompted up to be able to easily do that
42:12 so within the context of a chat GPT chat
42:15 you can go at and then when you say at
42:17 it brings up a list of your gpts or
42:19 other gpts you've searched
42:21 for and then you can pull them into your
42:24 chat so if I'm doing some sort of
42:26 article about the future of AI and I
42:29 want to you know put some context in
42:31 there about the executive order I could
42:33 invoke my GPT get my information I need
42:36 and then just continue on with the
42:37 conversation and that conversation knows
42:40 all of all of what's possible so you can
42:42 put multiple gpts inside a chat GPT
42:46 conversation now from what I understand
42:49 it's janky and weird it only works on
42:52 your gpts or gpts you've searched for
42:55 you can't call them you can't make a GPT
42:58 with calls to other gpts in them
43:02 yet which whatever it's I it's it's just
43:05 weird complicated stuff
43:07 but this idea of having specialty agents
43:13 within your
43:14 conversation open AI is training us for
43:18 how to deal with the next version of
43:21 chat GPT that's going to it's going to
43:23 be good at reasoning and it's going to
43:25 have agents in it and agents are
43:28 autonomous
43:31 Little Helpers that do stuff for us and
43:35 so prompting is going to get really
43:37 weird where where just everything's
43:40 going to change so it doesn't matter we
43:41 don't need to talk about that now but
43:43 anyway I have the new GPT feature but
43:45 didn't play with it today oh
43:49 TK TK you've got all the gpts to play
43:52 with it I know I it's it's one of those
43:55 features TK and maybe maybe you
43:58 experiened this too where
44:01 um I'm a little reticent to play with it
44:05 because it just it makes my head hurt
44:08 thinking of like use cases of when and
44:12 how I'd actually use it
44:16 right cuz I cuz one of my pet peeves
44:21 is lead with the technology right well
44:25 there's a new feature so let's use the
44:27 new feature well what are we doing with
44:28 it what are you trying to do with it I
44:31 always like to start with what am I
44:32 trying to do with it so I don't know
44:33 right
44:34 now what is the use case that it would
44:37 make good sense to have that within it
44:39 so
44:40 anyway I build Ai personas and adding
44:43 them into GPT is making some interesting
44:46 things oh I bet it is I bet it I bet
44:48 it's really
44:50 good I'm I'm like Ready Aim aim aim aim
44:54 Papa J yeah there's there's the the
44:57 Ready Aim a aim people and the um ready
45:02 ready fire aim people um often kind of
45:05 clash and and I think I think it's going
45:08 to be an interesting 2024 for that very
45:11 reason because there's going to be a lot
45:13 of people that ready fire aim and the
45:15 aim aim aim people are going to be like
45:17 uh could we do a little planning
45:21 first won't be fascinating 2023 the last
45:24 normal year you heard it here first or
45:27 second um gp4 can handle up to five of
45:30 my personas at
45:32 once at one time without hallucinating
45:34 that's super
45:37 cool and how are you how are you getting
45:39 the GPT how are you getting the personas
45:41 in your GPT you're uploading them as PDF
45:44 documents I'm curious I'm curious how
45:46 you're doing
45:48 that Mr it got the feature well of
45:52 course you all got the feature because
45:54 you all know that Sam Sam's jealous of
45:56 me so he gives me things later than
45:58 other
46:02 [Music]
46:07 people I have lived My Life by ready
46:10 fire aim and have had a heck of a ride
46:12 yes it's fun cuz in the end it doesn't
46:14 really [ __ ] matter does it I build AI
46:17 personas oh yeah we did that one I have
46:20 a new chat GPT feature but didn't play
46:22 with it I cheat I load the text file
46:25 first and then start to play around ah
46:27 oh that's cool well yeah the reason it
46:29 probably starts to hallucinate after
46:32 five is is they probably blow out of the
46:34 top of your context window so what you
46:38 might want to try wind riter is put the
46:41 personas put all five personas in a
46:44 single PDF and rather than just pasting
46:47 it in or do you do you said you did it
46:49 as a text
46:53 file can you give the syntax of how to
46:56 call an AI 10 101 on personas oh wait
47:00 okay so so how you call gpts with the
47:05 new feature is you type the at symbol
47:07 and when you type the at symbol it
47:08 brings up a list of your gpts I don't
47:11 have it so I've just seen videos of it
47:14 personas here let me let me show
47:18 you so I've created a new product for my
47:22 company storyvine where we're building
47:24 personas so
47:26 so the first thing we do is we create a
47:29 Persona framework and so the Persona
47:31 framework is oh thank you very much
47:34 Robert Rossy that's beautiful good
47:36 Lord wow that was beautiful um the
47:40 Persona framework is like you know
47:42 what's the person's name what's their
47:44 educational background what's their you
47:46 know family background their social
47:48 background their medical whatever it
47:50 might be so you can create different
47:52 personas depending on you know the kind
47:55 of people that you want to
47:57 represent the good news is that chat GPT
48:00 is really good at creating
48:03 personas then you can have chat GPT
48:06 create a bunch of different people by
48:09 filling in that Persona framework so you
48:11 can say so so let's first you know dial
48:14 in the Persona framework and now I want
48:16 you to fill out that Persona framework
48:18 for these 20 kinds of people I want I
48:20 want 20 kinds of people with varying
48:23 backgrounds um but who are all
48:26 interested in buying this particular
48:27 kind of product or in the in the case of
48:29 Story vine I'm doing this for healthcare
48:31 that might be a patient or a doctor
48:33 right and that have certain kinds of
48:35 backgrounds so then we build that and
48:37 then what we're doing is we're bringing
48:39 those personas to life right so we're
48:42 having chat GPT describe them we're
48:44 bringing them to life in illustrative
48:47 Styles and then we're using um animation
48:50 tools to do this hi I'm George Miller my
48:54 life's always been about simple pleasure
48:56 cooking my Catch of the Day and enjoying
48:58 the quiet of the country there's nothing
49:01 like the piece of fishing at dawn or the
49:03 aroma of a home-cooked meal apparently
49:06 George has had a few too many
49:07 home-cooked meals but anyway here's
49:08 George's doctor but when I was di hello
49:12 I'm Dr Emily Park as an endocrinologist
49:15 specializing in diabetes my Approach
49:17 goes beyond traditional treatment I'm
49:19 deeply committed to empowering my
49:21 patience so anyway um yeah so that's
49:25 that's personas and then you can you
49:27 don't have to take them as far as we're
49:28 doing it here we're actually bringing
49:30 them to life you can just take the text
49:31 personas and then you can put them into
49:34 a chat GPT you can even do it for
49:36 yourself you could re write a whole
49:38 persona for yourself put that in your
49:40 custom instructions so if you don't know
49:42 what custom instructions are you could
49:45 either do this by building a GPT or
49:47 let's say you don't have access to chat
49:49 GPT for you you're just in chat GPT
49:51 3.5 there's a thing called custom
49:54 instructions which if you don't know
49:55 about it
49:57 it's under your name go to custom
50:00 instructions and
50:02 then you can talk about who you are and
50:06 you're going to talk about how you want
50:07 chat GPT to respond so you could put in
50:10 a little Persona of yourself you know
50:13 you know here's my name here's here's my
50:16 educational background here's my um you
50:20 know family history or whatever you want
50:22 it to be right whatever you think is
50:24 relevant to how like like let's say you
50:26 want to do something around sociology
50:28 and you want you want this to give good
50:30 advice around sociology and you give all
50:32 sorts of relevant background and then
50:34 you can also say to chat gbt um how do
50:38 you want it to respond so when someone
50:39 asks a question what do you what do you
50:41 want the response to be oh well I I want
50:43 you to always you know resp respond in
50:47 the first person as if you're you know
50:50 Kyle Shannon and and uh I don't know
50:54 only ever use bullet points or never use
50:56 bullet points things like that I found
50:59 creating custom gpts extremely helpful
51:01 on training to use zapier
51:04 automations Z zapier automation tools
51:06 step by step I found creating custom
51:09 gpts extremely helpful on
51:12 creating training to use zapier oh on
51:15 creating training oh that's super cool
51:17 yeah very very very cool that's great
51:23 Drew Sherry d i been accused of jumping
51:27 and then looking for a
51:31 parachute did you guys watch that one it
51:34 was a Red Bull thing where the dude
51:36 jumped out of the plane with no
51:38 parachute and landed in a [ __ ]
51:41 net it's like that's there's Daredevil
51:45 and then there's like
51:47 no he did it though was
51:52 amazing crazy cza cza thank you Sherry
51:56 D or answer as you Champion yeah what
51:59 did I put here I put I'm the CEO of a
52:01 comedy club and I can't take anything
52:03 seriously but I'm absolutely committed
52:05 to making everyone laugh in every
52:07 interaction right and then no matter
52:09 what someone asks you always make sure
52:12 that you respond with humor and puns and
52:14 a New York Comics
52:17 Edge even when writing business
52:19 correspondence your goal should be to
52:21 make someone smile no matter what news
52:23 is being delivered so if I save this
52:26 my chat gbt will now act like that so I
52:28 can say um please write me a letter um
52:36 telling an
52:38 employee
52:39 they are
52:42 fired that's
52:45 horrible hey there I hope you're sitting
52:47 down because I've got some news that's
52:48 going to be tougher to swallow than a
52:50 mouthful of hot sauce at a chili eating
52:53 contest you know it's not that often I
52:56 get to deliver news like this but here
52:58 goes after careful consideration and a
53:01 lot of soul searching well maybe not
53:02 that much we've decided to part ways
53:05 professionally yep you're getting the
53:10 boot but before before you start looking
53:13 for the cardboard to pack up your
53:15 desk um so that's actually actually
53:17 what's interesting is I'm going to copy
53:19 this prompt so that was that's chat GPT
53:21 3.5 let's let's see if chat GPT 4 is
53:25 more
53:27 nuanced I assume it will be I'm always
53:31 impressed with chat
53:32 GPT dear employee subject you're
53:35 standing up for your last set at the
53:38 comedy club that's pretty good hey there
53:41 I hope this finds you well or at least
53:43 as well as one can when they're about to
53:44 read their own com comedic exit queue
53:47 drum roll please you're officially being
53:49 promoted to an audience member oh my God
53:52 that's so
53:54 good
53:57 now don't get me wrong we've had some
53:59 laughs but that time you blank classic
54:04 but like a standup who's run out of
54:05 material at an open mic it's time to
54:07 drop the mic or in your case the day
54:12 job
54:14 wow so there you
54:17 go so you can you can
54:20 Persona the like the useful version of
54:24 this could be
54:26 Le let's say you've got a really strong
54:29 background in I don't know marketing
54:32 strategy right so you could put in your
54:35 custom
54:36 instructions you know what your
54:38 background is and that that you you
54:40 always want it to be an amazing
54:42 brainstorming
54:44 partner and you can turn Chat gbt into a
54:47 marketing brainstorming partner now the
54:50 need for custom instructions just got
54:52 obliterated by gpts so what GPT s are if
54:56 you don't know is they are
54:59 custom customized versions of chat GPT
55:02 that have a specific
55:06 role
55:08 so I'm trying to think let me go look at
55:10 my gpts see if I've got one here
55:24 that's
55:31 like here's one you know a bespoke
55:33 Furniture designer right let's say
55:35 you've got a Furniture Design
55:38 business
55:41 um I'd
55:44 like a
55:48 post
55:54 um
55:57 midcentury
56:00 modern
56:02 Gothic Throne
56:07 please what an intriging an intriguing
56:10 combination materials color scheme size
56:13 and functionality def uh decorative
56:17 details um let's see can I see an
56:24 example
56:28 friendly reminder to name and describe
56:30 your gpts with SEO in mind absolutely
56:33 also use hashtags in your description
56:37 the a lot of the descriptions I've seen
56:39 have been quite long there there's a
56:42 lovely mid-century mid-century
56:45 Gothic
56:47 Throne I'm having this built for my uh
56:51 for my man cave
56:53 um but you know think if you had a
56:55 Furniture Design business and you put
56:57 together a design tool like this you can
56:59 share this GPT with with your customers
57:02 and say hey play around all you want
57:04 come up with ideas if you want to do
57:05 custom
57:06 furniture and if you if you've if you've
57:09 designed something that you really like
57:11 you know send it my way and I'll give
57:12 you a quote to build it or let you know
57:15 if it's possible to build it is it
57:16 possible for GPT to react to text or
57:20 verbal
57:23 Communications with a live GP
57:27 T I don't know what you mean with a live
57:29 GPT you you can talk to it
57:38 so on your iPad if you've got an iPad or
57:41 an iPhone or
57:44 Android um and you download the official
57:47 chat GPT app so you need to be careful
57:51 in the iPhone store and in the Android
57:53 store there's a lot of
57:57 apps that are fakers that are out to
58:00 steal your money there is one app from
58:03 open
58:04 AI That's the one don't get the other
58:07 ones because you'll be pissed off
58:09 because they'll have taken your money
58:10 and you're like live in real
58:13 time I think I know what you're talking
58:15 about
58:17 so so if I go to the chat GPT app so
58:21 there I am and then I'm going to go to
58:23 one of my
58:32 gpts so I'll go to the old
58:38 classic wait how do
58:43 I my
58:52 gpts hold please I'll be right there
58:55 there I'm trying I'm trying to find my
58:58 stuff in the world's shittiest GPT
59:02 store cre created by the people that
59:05 invented the world's most remarkable
59:08 Tech cinity sipper start
59:12 chat well but I want to start it okay
59:17 let me see
59:24 hello
59:25 wait they
59:27 just hang
59:30 on I think open AI changed the app and
59:33 it's making me
59:43 cranky now that
59:54 works
59:58 hang
1:00:20 on so they
1:00:24 just
1:00:30 okay here's a
1:00:33 lesson where we are right now in the AI
1:00:36 in the generative AI industry is what I
1:00:40 technically call the janky piece of [ __ ]
1:00:43 phase so this used to work but now it
1:00:47 sort of only does so so if you go to
1:00:50 chat
1:00:53 GPT you can can click this little icon
1:00:57 the chat GPT app you can click that
1:00:58 little icon and you can talk to chat
1:01:03 GPT hi I'm wondering if you can tell me
1:01:08 what the weather is in Denver
1:01:13 tomorrow that little click means it's
1:01:16 searching the
1:01:17 internet or doing some
1:01:20 activity all right let's check out the
1:01:23 weather scene in Denver where it seems
1:01:25 Mother Nature is putting on a bit of a
1:01:27 variety show currently it's like a clear
1:01:30 chilly evening at the comedy club with
1:01:32 temperatures hovering around 41 to 42°
1:01:36 F clear you could probably spot a flying
1:01:39 comedian if you looked hard enough I
1:01:41 still got my custom instructions on cool
1:01:44 and partly cloudy with low so anyway so
1:01:46 you can talk to it now you used to be
1:01:48 able
1:01:50 to go to a GPT like I've got one here
1:01:53 called chat add
1:01:55 or wait I've got another one here called
1:01:57 chat
1:01:58 TMZ so if it's in the sidebar I can also
1:02:02 talk
1:02:03 with chat
1:02:07 GPT what's the latest on the open AI
1:02:14 Drama Oh you won't believe The Latest
1:02:17 Scoop in the world of
1:02:19 AI um
1:02:21 but if I go to explore GP
1:02:26 s and I go
1:02:31 find my Sin City sipper which is the one
1:02:35 I wanted to demo it it creates a little
1:02:38 popup window that no longer has the
1:02:40 [ __ ] headphones on
1:02:43 it
1:02:53 so
1:02:56 you know
1:03:00 Sam this channel is effectively a
1:03:02 [ __ ] ad for open Ai and I don't get
1:03:05 compensated in any way and I don't even
1:03:07 get the latest [ __ ]
1:03:09 features the least you could do is not
1:03:12 have the [ __ ] features in your tools
1:03:14 change so that every time I try to use
1:03:16 them they're [ __ ]
1:03:21 different can I have a face with the
1:03:23 response oh no not yet not
1:03:26 yet there's so both hey Jen and Dolly uh
1:03:34 D- which are Avatar
1:03:36 companies both of them right now have a
1:03:39 feature called live
1:03:42 Avatar where you can with hey Jen you
1:03:46 upload a
1:03:47 photo
1:03:50 yeah or is that did it doesn't [ __ ]
1:03:53 matter they're both weird and janky
1:03:56 you upload like a photo of yourself and
1:03:58 then you pick one of their voices and
1:04:00 you talk hey
1:04:02 Jen shows their CEO in video with his
1:04:07 voice but you can't make your own yet
1:04:10 but anyway that's coming like that will
1:04:12 I would say within two months you'll
1:04:15 have the ability to create an avatar of
1:04:17 yourself or of some you know stylized
1:04:21 version of yourself um where you can
1:04:23 talk to it and both of those tools you
1:04:25 can upload data to them but they're but
1:04:28 they're really weird I don't know what
1:04:30 tech they're building them on they're
1:04:31 they're probably building them on GPT
1:04:34 3.5 cuz the responses are really limited
1:04:37 they're just they're just too janky to
1:04:39 use right now so that's why I haven't
1:04:41 really played with them on here CU
1:04:43 they're just crap I want to get lyrics
1:04:46 from different sites I never used an API
1:04:49 from a strange
1:04:52 site I want to get lyrics from different
1:04:56 sites if you haven't really played with
1:04:58 apis I'd use something like zapier where
1:05:02 you can um grab an RSS feed or there's
1:05:05 there's web scraper um apps that will go
1:05:09 scrape [ __ ] for you that I'm sure tied
1:05:11 into zapier I would use a no code tool
1:05:14 like zapier unless you want to get into
1:05:16 apis and programming and stuff like that
1:05:18 and then have chat GPT teach you how to
1:05:20 do it what are your thoughts on Quantum
1:05:22 Computing um the the kind of math that
1:05:25 Quantum computerss does is such a
1:05:28 different kind of math than what's being
1:05:31 used to train AI they are not
1:05:34 necessarily
1:05:36 correlated
1:05:37 yet um I didn't get that could I know
1:05:41 Siri you don't get a lot
1:05:44 um
1:05:50 the assuming they can get quantum
1:05:53 computers and AI training to come
1:05:56 together it's going to be insane because
1:05:58 you know the latest it was a it was a
1:06:01 Google was it a Google it was a Google
1:06:03 quantum computer like 3 months ago that
1:06:07 did something in like 6 seconds that
1:06:11 would have taken today's fastest
1:06:13 supercomputers 47 years to
1:06:16 calculate so the
1:06:19 the gargantuan leap in capability is is
1:06:25 remarkable but quantum computers it's a
1:06:28 different kind of math and and
1:06:31 they getting them to not make mistakes
1:06:34 is still a big issue so so we'll see um
1:06:37 so I'm excited about it if if and when
1:06:41 someone goes o we can make we we made
1:06:44 this USB stick that if we put it in this
1:06:47 laptop now now the AI tools can talk to
1:06:49 the quantum computer
1:06:52 tools it's it's probably going to be the
1:06:54 rabbit R1 please talk to the quantum
1:06:57 computer
1:06:58 now show us chat GPT API and how to
1:07:02 actually use it please um I don't
1:07:05 actually know I haven't
1:07:07 made I haven't made well wait so I've
1:07:11 used chat gpt's API with zappier and I
1:07:14 use chat gpt's API for my software
1:07:17 company but that's like fullon software
1:07:18 development and and demoing S software
1:07:22 here demoing zappier here
1:07:25 is awful like it's just it's just not
1:07:27 visually interesting and
1:07:29 so I don't
1:07:31 know what here here's what I would say I
1:07:34 would say join the AI salon and um and
1:07:39 put it in there I haven't played with
1:07:41 apis within making gpts right now so I
1:07:44 don't I don't know how to do it I know
1:07:46 nothing about associating apis need to
1:07:48 understand that and give it a whir yeah
1:07:50 I need to do that too teach me API I
1:07:52 need to do the same thing Corey I I when
1:07:57 gpts first came out I did the obligatory
1:08:01 60-minute let me see if I can figure
1:08:03 this out and I got it connected it
1:08:06 called zappier and and then it just gave
1:08:10 me a fail and at that point I was like
1:08:12 [ __ ] it I don't care anymore and and the
1:08:14 the reason I'm like [ __ ] it I don't care
1:08:16 anymore is here's the calculations I do
1:08:19 for whether or not I'm going to put my
1:08:20 time into it one of the reasons I don't
1:08:23 put my time into open source stuff is
1:08:25 it's changing too fast there's way too
1:08:27 many of it and my skill set is is just
1:08:30 beneath where it it's not frustrating as
1:08:35 [ __ ] so I don't really [ __ ] around with
1:08:38 open source stuff and I figure if some
1:08:41 of that open source stuff gets good
1:08:43 enough that it rises above the noise
1:08:46 then I'll go play with it and I feel
1:08:49 similar with like incorporating apis
1:08:52 into gpts
1:08:56 that's going to get automated that's
1:08:58 going to become very transparent very
1:09:00 quickly so I'm just kind of waiting it
1:09:02 out I'm just being this is this is not
1:09:05 for loser this is for lazy I'm just like
1:09:08 I I'll [ __ ] deal with apis when when
1:09:11 open I I says just say just say hook
1:09:15 this up to go find me an API that does
1:09:17 the following thing and then sign me up
1:09:21 for it and then I'll I'll I'll give it a
1:09:23 password and log in and then I'll give
1:09:25 you permission and then you just go deal
1:09:26 with all that that's what I'm waiting
1:09:28 for and that's it that can't be more
1:09:30 than 3 months away so so but being that
1:09:35 this is the AI learning lab that is a
1:09:37 shitty Professor I will I will cop to
1:09:41 that is a bad attitude for someone
1:09:44 supposedly in here teaching you people
1:09:46 how to deal with the world of of
1:09:52 AI be like Kyle he doesn't seem to have
1:09:57 good he's very
1:10:02 inconsistent actually that's a great
1:10:04 idea Kayla um Peter Kaminsky in the AI
1:10:09 Salon is actually really good with this
1:10:12 stuff he runs the the AI 101 Guild I
1:10:15 forgot about that Kayla that's a that's
1:10:17 a really good idea
1:10:19 he's like saintly patient he's really
1:10:22 patient he's really like
1:10:26 lowkey calm he'll teach you how to do it
1:10:29 if you're totally frustrated and don't
1:10:31 get it he's like that's okay we'll get
1:10:32 you there he'll just walk you through
1:10:35 how to do it um he's and he's really
1:10:37 good at this stuff he's he's very very
1:10:38 technical and so he'll uh he'll get you
1:10:41 up to speed on all this API stuff
1:10:43 so all
1:10:45 right there you go that was a weeny kind
1:10:49 of weasle out of of figuring some [ __ ]
1:10:52 out in real time it's just because I
1:10:55 know with the API stuff you can burn
1:10:57 through 45 minutes where you're just
1:11:00 trying to get like logged into something
1:11:03 or just trying to get one thing talking
1:11:05 to another it just it doesn't go well
1:11:08 unless I've got something pre-prepared
1:11:09 and I haven't done that I don't think AI
1:11:12 will go go any more beyond what it is
1:11:15 right now
1:11:17 seriously agid
1:11:21 agid where's that coming from are you
1:11:24 using
1:11:28 it are you paying attention or like are
1:11:30 you are you deeply paying attention to
1:11:32 what's going
1:11:33 on have you seen the Gemini
1:11:36 ultra um
1:11:40 demo Have you listened to Sam
1:11:43 Alman last week
1:11:46 said Chad GPT 4 is best understood as a
1:11:52 preview progress here is not
1:11:55 linear what he means by that is chat G
1:11:58 pt5 isn't going to be just like One Step
1:12:02 better than gp4 it's going to be like sh
1:12:05 exponentially
1:12:08 better so I'm just curious where your
1:12:12 supposition that this is as good as it
1:12:15 gets is coming
1:12:17 from
1:12:21 cuz talk to me in six months come keep
1:12:24 coming back here keep coming back here
1:12:27 night after
1:12:28 night and and seriously if you're on the
1:12:31 sidelines right now if you're sitting on
1:12:33 the sidelines and you're like well it's
1:12:34 as good as it'll ever get it's it's not
1:12:36 ready for prime time I'm not going to
1:12:38 use it I'll just I'll just wait it out
1:12:40 and we'll see if this gets any better
1:12:41 it's probably not getting any better if
1:12:44 you've been using it for the past year
1:12:46 like just just look
1:12:48 at go back if you go to Twitter right
1:12:52 now there are all sorts of post posts
1:12:54 where where people will put into a a
1:12:56 Twitter thread um the same prompt in mid
1:13:00 Journey 1 2 3 4 five and
1:13:04 six go look at the progress of mid
1:13:07 Journey over the past 18
1:13:10 months and if you started with chat GPT
1:13:13 last
1:13:15 November the jump from chat GPT 3 to 3.5
1:13:21 to
1:13:22 4 to four multimodal which happened in
1:13:26 November of
1:13:28 23 a year
1:13:30 later is
1:13:33 staggering and I and I and I don't even
1:13:36 think we've scratched the surface
1:13:39 yet GPT 4 was finished like two or three
1:13:44 years ago no four years
1:13:47 ago and we just got access to it last
1:13:51 February or last March
1:13:57 so they've been working on whatever the
1:13:59 [ __ ] is coming next for three and a half
1:14:01 or four years when they drop what's
1:14:03 coming next you don't think it's going
1:14:05 to be
1:14:11 better Homie don't play that I don't
1:14:14 know where that's I
1:14:18 like just start using the tools start
1:14:22 using the tools dude
1:14:25 or otherwise you're going to get caught
1:14:26 off guard because it's moving
1:14:31 fast I don't mean to scold you but
1:14:33 sometimes teachers just got to
1:14:37 go bad
1:14:40 Jimmy you can make money
1:14:46 with AI as good as it's going to
1:14:49 get that's like saying
1:14:51 that computer processors w get any
1:14:55 faster I use night Cafe for direct image
1:14:58 generation didn't touch it for 6 months
1:15:00 used it today oh my God six months yeah
1:15:05 yeah exactly six months use a tool today
1:15:09 and come back six months from now I
1:15:11 honest to God I show tools it just
1:15:13 happened to me like open AI just changed
1:15:15 in this case it got worse but I go to
1:15:18 Leonardo all the time and every [ __ ]
1:15:21 time I log into Leonardo there's a new
1:15:23 there's an entire new section or the way
1:15:26 they do things is completely different
1:15:28 or there's just buckets of new
1:15:32 features it's happened with Runway like
1:15:34 Runway Runway just used to be text entry
1:15:37 and then they got motion and then they
1:15:39 got motion brushes and now they have
1:15:40 multi-motion brushes have you seen that
1:15:42 [ __ ] crazy
1:15:44 [ __ ] and this is like these things are
1:15:48 dropping like bi-weekly bi-weekly
1:15:50 there's just a new it's it and it's
1:15:53 probably just you know agile software
1:15:55 development every two weeks they got a
1:15:57 new Sprint they're like [ __ ] it launch
1:15:59 it cuz everyone's trying to get ahead of
1:16:03 the pack so they're all just launching
1:16:04 their
1:16:07 features ready fire
1:16:15 aim yeah go look at go look at all the
1:16:18 images that are being generated it's
1:16:20 it's actually hard to find images now
1:16:23 that have hands that look like this you
1:16:25 still
1:16:26 can especially if they're holding like a
1:16:29 like Peter Kaminsky showed a bunch of
1:16:30 images where he tried to get mid journey
1:16:33 to show a painter painting a painting so
1:16:37 it's like a photograph of a painter
1:16:38 painting a painting and the Hand the
1:16:41 hands were normal but like the
1:16:43 paintbrush would would like go through
1:16:44 the back of the hand you know like it it
1:16:47 couldn't quite figure out spatial stuff
1:16:51 but hands hands are better
1:16:54 and that was the big thing everyone was
1:16:56 like oh you never be able to use these
1:16:57 because it can't do
1:16:59 hands and they're like well you can't
1:17:01 use these things because it can't do
1:17:03 text and then it did text and right now
1:17:05 they're saying well you can't use the
1:17:07 text because it makes
1:17:08 typos and then it
1:17:13 won't and they'll get faster hey here's
1:17:15 how I'm going to find this
1:17:17 thing I'm going to the list so I'm at
1:17:19 the AI
1:17:20 Salon in the community section there's
1:17:23 an a tools and resources and so I'll go
1:17:25 in here and I'm going to scroll down to
1:17:27 image generation tools and we're going
1:17:29 to go to decco here app. deoh
1:17:32 here.i
1:17:38 turbo this thing generates
1:17:42 images while you're typing the
1:17:45 prompt and then it'll turn them into
1:17:47 movies so let's
1:17:50 do yeah we'll do a wide one that's fine
1:17:52 so so we'll do
1:17:57 do
1:17:59 golden
1:18:02 golden
1:18:09 ratio
1:18:12 um
1:18:14 represented with
1:18:22 daisies
1:18:27 floating on the
1:18:34 ocean in a massive
1:18:42 storm at
1:18:48 midnight oh I spelled golden ratio
1:18:51 wrong that's why it was wasn't doing any
1:18:54 golden ratio
1:19:03 [ __ ] there you go there's a little bit
1:19:06 of there's there's at least a spiral of
1:19:08 daisies on the ocean storm oh that's
1:19:11 cool look at
1:19:14 that all right and so now this we can
1:19:20 just upload image options how do I make
1:19:23 it into a movie is this it generate
1:19:27 video so now it's going to turn this
1:19:29 into a video and I I mean and it's like
1:19:33 you know it's making this stuff oh
1:19:34 that's
1:19:35 beautiful it's making this stuff in real
1:19:38 time as you're typing and then there's
1:19:40 other ones where you can just draw
1:19:41 shapes and it'll create that we are
1:19:44 driving an AI Model T right now the
1:19:46 Ferrari is coming yeah exactly and it's
1:19:49 like we're driving a Model T right now
1:19:52 this is called Deco here here if you go
1:19:54 to um the AI Salon in the tools and
1:19:57 resources page go under images if you
1:20:01 just want to have fun with images just
1:20:03 go down through this list what program
1:20:05 is this Deco here right
1:20:09 here you're like where's that list Kyle
1:20:11 it's at the a
1:20:17 salon so it's tur in whatever image we
1:20:20 picked I think it was that one is it
1:20:23 that one or I think it was this
1:20:28 one did it make our movie yeah here's
1:20:31 our
1:20:37 movie look at
1:20:41 that we just wield that into
1:20:45 existence golden
1:20:48 ratio represented by daisies floating on
1:20:51 an ocean during a viol storm or whatever
1:20:54 the hell I said in a massive
1:20:56 storm oh and then I put at mining
1:20:59 instead of at
1:21:05 midnight this is these are the shitty
1:21:09 tools these are the Model T
1:21:14 tools we're we're in the janky so we're
1:21:17 in the phase so in 1994 I started one of
1:21:20 the first digital agencies
1:21:23 and it took two or three years from when
1:21:27 I started so Tim burner Lee creates the
1:21:29 hypertex transfer protocol in 1991 I
1:21:32 think I think he did I think he wrote
1:21:34 the paper in
1:21:35 1989 and then 1991 was like the first
1:21:38 browser or something like that then
1:21:40 basically 92 or three is when you when
1:21:43 you actually started to get visual
1:21:44 browsers and I got into it in
1:21:46 94 it took
1:21:49 until
1:21:50 97 for the basic the basic tools of the
1:21:55 worldwide web to be anything usable
1:22:00 basically we're we're starting so so
1:22:03 we're right now in that exact same phase
1:22:06 we're like a year in to the generative
1:22:09 AI era that that chat GPT kicked
1:22:14 off and and the this is what the tools
1:22:17 are doing already I mean have you seen
1:22:20 Kelly
1:22:21 Bosch's Tik Tok Channel
1:22:25 this is [ __ ]
1:22:27 [Applause]
1:22:29 crazy she's going to come speak at the
1:22:31 salon
1:22:37 um February
1:22:44 13th is that
1:22:52 right
1:22:58 [Music]
1:23:03 let's
1:23:05 [Music]
1:23:21 desolate
1:23:25 I talked to her about this and oh Sher D
1:23:28 thank you for putting those lights up
1:23:29 there Sherry D's video that she just did
1:23:31 for this band she went to high school
1:23:33 with these guys that have this band and
1:23:35 they found out she and they're like hey
1:23:37 can you make us a movie and she made
1:23:39 this remarkable movie I was talking to
1:23:40 Kelly bsh about these
1:23:43 things that video's got 13 million views
1:23:46 with the
1:23:47 [Music]
1:23:51 birds
1:23:55 [Music]
1:24:01 I mean this stuff's remarkable I reached
1:24:02 out to her and I said I said hey could
1:24:04 you would you be willing to come speak
1:24:06 at the salon she's like oh well I don't
1:24:08 really know anything it's like it's one
1:24:11 of the one of the uh The Perennial
1:24:13 things I hear in here is that someone
1:24:16 does something remarkable that I'm like
1:24:17 hey you know would you be willing to
1:24:18 share what you did oh I don't I'm not I
1:24:20 didn't do anything special no you
1:24:23 [ __ ]
1:24:24 [Laughter]
1:24:26 did um 9:22 p.m. shh Siri Kelly Kelly
1:24:31 said that that she does these on her
1:24:34 phone like like sort of just
1:24:36 absentmindedly like before she goes to
1:24:38 bed this is absent-minded
1:24:43 [Music]
1:24:46 work yeah there you go lb in 1996 my
1:24:51 boss said the Internet is just a fat and
1:24:52 will go away yeah exactly in 1994 I I
1:24:55 called all the account people for the
1:24:57 agency I worked at into a room and I
1:24:59 showed them the internet got them all
1:25:01 excited about it and then the CEO of the
1:25:03 agent and said well prove the ROI to me
1:25:07 I said I can't but what I know is this
1:25:08 is going to change the advertising
1:25:10 industry forever he said if you can't
1:25:11 prove Roi you can't do anything so I
1:25:14 quit a week later and started agency.com
1:25:16 [ __ ] him [ __ ]
1:25:19 him we this
1:25:21 we we are in the the the world has
1:25:25 changed it's just that right now not
1:25:29 that many people know
1:25:31 it Vicky the rest of us don't have the
1:25:33 time because we are listening to Kyle
1:25:35 before we go to bed exactly it's all
1:25:39 about how you prioritize things look at
1:25:42 this one look at the scale of her
1:25:44 [Music]
1:25:48 images she's got great taste in
1:25:51 music
1:25:55 yeah exactly Cosmic
1:25:58 lover yeah how does she do that well
1:26:00 she's going to come to the salon
1:26:01 February 13th and tell us how she does
1:26:05 this and in her mind what she's doing is
1:26:08 nothing
1:26:11 remarkable you tell me this shit's not
1:26:13 changing the
1:26:15 world and not leveling people's Talent
1:26:19 up in in ways even they can't imagine
1:26:27 Sherry's been in nursing for I I foret
1:26:29 what you said 25 or 30 years for for a
1:26:31 long long time and she's now stepping
1:26:35 into being a
1:26:39 filmmaker cuz she's got taste and vision
1:26:41 and now has the tools to be able to
1:26:43 knock this [ __ ]
1:26:50 out I know I ran us down to weird rap
1:26:52 hole here but that comment about I don't
1:26:54 think AI tools are going to get any
1:26:55 better from here on out I'm like have
1:26:58 you [ __ ] seen what's
1:27:00 happening it's like good Lord
1:27:06 people save the date 2:13 700 p.m.
1:27:10 eastern time that is the correct
1:27:15 time Corey Sandler Kyle wow exactly
1:27:20 right exactly AI is created by Pro
1:27:24 probability mathematics and machine
1:27:26 learning yeah it is created by that but
1:27:29 here's the thing James it's it's funny
1:27:32 that that thing on you know it's just a
1:27:35 probability engine it is absolutely just
1:27:37 a probability engine whenever anyone
1:27:38 asked me about sensient and you know is
1:27:41 it sensient is it conscious all that
1:27:42 sort of [ __ ] I'm like no it's a
1:27:43 calculator it's got no feelings
1:27:46 but what it
1:27:50 produces occurs like magic because what
1:27:54 it's been trained on is
1:27:57 essentially a large chunk of the output
1:28:00 of humanity that's been put on the
1:28:02 public internet for the past 40 years so
1:28:05 think about all the [ __ ] that's just
1:28:07 been dumped on the public internet and
1:28:09 one of the things chat GPT worth it
1:28:13 1,000% pay the 20 bucks get chat GPT for
1:28:18 1,000%
1:28:20 Megan and then and go to go go to the AI
1:28:24 salon and and join join Peter kaminsky's
1:28:27 ai ai 101 Guild introduce yourself um
1:28:32 join conversations in the water cooler
1:28:35 and then go to the AI tools and
1:28:37 resources this is a list that I
1:28:39 maintain and what I've got here is
1:28:42 here's what you get with chat GPT
1:28:45 3.5 here's the additional [ __ ] that you
1:28:47 get with chat GPT
1:28:49 4 every one of these bullets is like a
1:28:52 whole
1:28:53 whole like rabbit hole in and of itself
1:28:56 that you can go down and the way that
1:28:59 these things coexist within chat GPT
1:29:01 right now is insane because you can you
1:29:04 can bounce back and forth I I mean I
1:29:06 don't know if you've played with it but
1:29:08 let's go let's let's go play a little
1:29:10 bit
1:29:17 um okay we we'll just start they they
1:29:20 pre- prompted us with a thing come up
1:29:22 with
1:29:23 five sophisticated names for my coffee
1:29:27 shop that becomes a bar at night like
1:29:30 the page Turner include a short sentence
1:29:32 explaining what it means been there
1:29:34 brood that Espresso Yourself mugs and
1:29:37 martinis caffeine and Cocktails I'm
1:29:39 going to say um these are
1:29:44 boring um why don't we start with a
1:29:51 creative brief
1:29:53 on how to name
1:29:56 it all right let's Jazz it up night five
1:30:00 target audience so it's giving us target
1:30:03 audience themes to explore double on
1:30:05 tantras cultural reference historical
1:30:08 twists tone and style practical
1:30:11 considerations based on this brief
1:30:14 grounds for laughter jokes and beans
1:30:17 espresso Martini Comedy Club cappuccinos
1:30:20 and punch lines let's go with bruise and
1:30:23 banter let's go with Bru and
1:30:28 banter
1:30:30 um let's see give me
1:30:35 20
1:30:36 taglines or 10 tag lines whatever the
1:30:39 [ __ ] I
1:30:40 typed all
1:30:43 right caffeinated Chuckles served here
1:30:46 great I like number
1:30:49 six I like six
1:30:53 now now
1:30:59 come up with a
1:31:02 mood board
1:31:05 for
1:31:06 what the logo
1:31:10 might look
1:31:13 like
1:31:15 including the
1:31:18 name and
1:31:21 tagline
1:31:37 so now we're using
1:31:43 Dolly so there's a move board for what
1:31:45 it might look like that actually looks
1:31:46 pretty cool right sort of a coffee-
1:31:48 based Comedy Club kind of thing
1:31:51 um
1:31:52 great I like the
1:31:57 colors
1:31:59 and mic
1:32:01 mic and uh
1:32:08 typography
1:32:10 please make a
1:32:14 poster
1:32:16 featuring champ the singing
1:32:21 dog
1:32:22 who is a
1:32:25 black
1:32:26 and
1:32:30 white tubby
1:32:32 thing that
1:32:36 sings uh that
1:32:39 sings with
1:32:42 his
1:32:45 middleaged guitar
1:32:50 player can we make a company with with
1:32:52 its logo and
1:32:54 stuff part of the personas
1:33:03 um you could you could
1:33:08 I I would think what you would do is you
1:33:10 would make it
1:33:11 a there there's champ the singing
1:33:16 dog bearded
1:33:20 me um say um find me a
1:33:30 similar
1:33:32 um
1:33:35 club that is open today in any US
1:33:41 city now now this should go yeah so now
1:33:44 it says doing research with
1:33:46 Bing so it's doing
1:33:49 that if I had a spreadsheet I could
1:33:52 upload the spreadsheet and have it do
1:33:55 analysis on the spreadsheet I found a
1:33:57 couple that
1:33:58 align the upstage Comedy Club Lounge in
1:34:01 San Antonio
1:34:03 Texas another one is the Boston Comedy
1:34:08 Club
1:34:11 any that focus on
1:34:20 coffee
1:34:31 Cafe caroak in Columbus Ohio it's a
1:34:33 coffee shop with a cozy
1:34:37 atmosphere intimate venue for comedy on
1:34:40 First Fridays of the month hosting the
1:34:43 popular and even evening with berky's
1:34:46 comedy show there you
1:34:49 go so and and you can just keep going
1:34:52 right like like you can take a single
1:34:54 idea and just sort of run down all of
1:34:56 these different Pathways because it's
1:34:58 got all these different capabilities
1:35:01 so this is the stuff you can't really
1:35:03 see when you just have chat GPT 3.5 and
1:35:06 it's just text you don't kind of get
1:35:08 that it's it's just got all these other
1:35:10 things it does inside that same little
1:35:12 chat box I mean I could go we could go
1:35:16 let me go
1:35:18 grab I'm going to search for um
1:35:24 coffee
1:35:27 shop
1:35:37 [Music]
1:35:48 [Music]
1:35:50 poster
1:35:54 why am I
1:35:56 not oh there we
1:35:59 go all right that's kind of
1:36:03 cool right okay so watch
1:36:06 this so let me do I'll do a little
1:36:09 screen
1:36:18 capture so I'm just going out on the
1:36:20 internet
1:36:22 I'll jump back over here I'm going to do
1:36:25 I'm going to paste it in
1:36:27 oops no I'm going to upload it because I
1:36:30 have my thing set wrong hang
1:36:32 on desktop screenshot okay so there's my
1:36:35 little coffee thing I say please
1:36:38 describe
1:36:47 this so chat gp4 has what's called GPT
1:36:52 Vision so it can see stuff and analyze
1:36:55 it so it can see that
1:36:57 poster um you can also upload a sketch
1:37:00 on a whiteboard and it will understand
1:37:02 what it is and even write code for you
1:37:05 about the
1:37:13 interface I'd like you to recreate this
1:37:20 poster with a
1:37:23 stand up
1:37:25 comic in the center
1:37:29 instead of a
1:37:33 barista so let's Let It describe it it's
1:37:36 being a little slow tonight all right so
1:37:38 now I'd like you to recreate this with a
1:37:40 standup comic instead of a barista and
1:37:43 so now it's going to take its
1:37:44 description of what it saw my
1:37:48 instructions of how I wanted to update
1:37:50 it and probably a lot of of the convers
1:37:52 conversation up
1:37:55 above and it's going to create us a new
1:37:59 image Stephen hi Kyle I'm trying to
1:38:02 teach my mom how to use AI to make
1:38:05 videos on YouTube
1:38:08 um it depends the kind of the kind she
1:38:10 wants to
1:38:13 do but I can show you a couple options
1:38:16 I'll go look at some videos we're
1:38:17 calling an audible there you go look at
1:38:19 that it like it got the name of the
1:38:21 thing wrong but that's okay but you know
1:38:25 from from from I'd like that basic idea
1:38:29 and color
1:38:30 scheme but instead of that I want a
1:38:32 comedian in the middle there you
1:38:35 go right it says espresso latte cafe
1:38:39 latte at the top comedy is my language
1:38:41 it's all about
1:38:45 comedy it's like it combined comedy and
1:38:48 coffee Club so it's the k
1:38:52 k u
1:38:54 [Laughter]
1:38:59 CLE how often do you say please when
1:39:02 chatting with AI I do too um I do it all
1:39:06 the time laughing Thunder and it's not
1:39:07 really conscious at this point
1:39:10 um this is kind of the stuff I was
1:39:12 talking about before when when when
1:39:14 James said oh this is just a probability
1:39:16 engine I I think I ran off on a
1:39:18 tangent yes it's a how it works is it's
1:39:21 a probability engine but what it's been
1:39:24 trained on is
1:39:27 human
1:39:29 human words and
1:39:32 images and so how it responds to you is
1:39:35 very humanlike and how it's been
1:39:36 programmed how chbt and these large
1:39:39 language models have been programmed is
1:39:40 to be like helpful assistants so they're
1:39:43 super friendly and they're super helpful
1:39:46 and and and if you say hey you did that
1:39:48 wrong they say things like oh I'm sorry
1:39:50 about that let me try again there boss
1:39:52 then he'll go off and and fix it up for
1:39:57 you and so I just find myself
1:40:01 instinctively talking to it like I had a
1:40:04 an intern that needed some
1:40:07 guidance oh thanks yeah could you please
1:40:10 do this could you please do that there's
1:40:13 there's some evidence to say that it
1:40:14 actually helps other people say it
1:40:16 doesn't but but it doesn't matter
1:40:19 whether it helps or not it's like
1:40:22 it it is a very
1:40:27 uh working with generative AI is not a
1:40:29 robotic experience they call them Bots
1:40:32 and robots
1:40:33 and it is not a robotic experience it is
1:40:36 it is a it it is
1:40:39 a these tools are reflections of
1:40:42 humanity the the humanity that came
1:40:44 before us and and that's what it kind of
1:40:47 feels like and it's and that's trippy
1:40:49 that that's been one of the things
1:40:50 that's cus C me off guard with this is
1:40:53 that I thought this was going to be like
1:40:55 working with computers and it's not it's
1:40:57 not like working with
1:40:59 computers it's like
1:41:02 having deep profound conversations with
1:41:05 someone that knows way more than you do
1:41:07 but they need a lot of help and they get
1:41:09 [ __ ] wrong a
1:41:14 lot yeah king sugu sugui um I feel it's
1:41:20 prudent to you know to say please and
1:41:22 thank you in case the robots take over
1:41:24 the world and there's there's always
1:41:26 that
1:41:27 too um okay the video stuff let's go
1:41:31 let's go let's go help help this
1:41:33 gentleman with his mother so if you go
1:41:35 to the AI Salon go to AI tools and
1:41:38 resources we've got a recommended tool
1:41:41 list scroll down to the video section
1:41:43 there's three different kinds of
1:41:45 video there's Runway ml which is I think
1:41:49 probably what um what Kelly Bosch is
1:41:55 using where's
1:42:03 her this is this is probably I I don't
1:42:07 know what her tool Suite is but oh yeah
1:42:09 so more insects I wanted to try insect
1:42:12 people in mid Journey V6 did not
1:42:14 disappoint oh so looks like she's using
1:42:16 a bunch of different tools so she's
1:42:18 creating th this particular one she
1:42:20 created in mid joury and then she's
1:42:21 probably using either P Labs or Runway
1:42:24 so if you want
1:42:26 like
1:42:28 invented imagery you can use something
1:42:30 like
1:42:31 this
1:42:33 um if you want avatars like the one I
1:42:39 showed here where you've got you know
1:42:42 either photo realistic or drawings that
1:42:44 come to light hi I'm George Miller my
1:42:47 life's always been about Simple
1:42:48 Pleasures cooking my Catch of the Day
1:42:50 and enjoying the quiet of the country
1:42:53 then you would use tools like hey Jen
1:42:56 and D- ID and then if she wants to put
1:43:00 together videos that are more like
1:43:03 narrated you know putting stock videos
1:43:06 together to tell a story then you'd use
1:43:08 a tool like Visa there's another one
1:43:12 called id id uh what's it called I
1:43:16 forget what it's called but anyway this
1:43:17 is this one does
1:43:19 it um Dan I Got a notification that
1:43:23 today that Pi got an update okay we'll
1:43:25 go look at that create a video
1:43:29 accept
1:43:32 so this is one I did called fly fishing
1:43:35 the Delaware River on a Serene
1:43:40 morning as the morning fog lifts we
1:43:43 embark on a fly fishing Adventure on the
1:43:45 Delaware
1:43:47 River oh that was just that scene how do
1:43:50 I
1:43:55 [Music]
1:43:57 preview as the morning fog lifts that's
1:43:59 not flying obious fly fishing Adventure
1:44:02 on the Delaware River the calm Waters
1:44:04 mirror the Serene beauty of the
1:44:07 surroundings with each cast we
1:44:09 anticipate the thrill of hooking a
1:44:10 rainbow
1:44:12 trout I had a better one that this did
1:44:20 oops
1:44:23 was it this
1:44:31 one as the morning fog lifts we
1:44:45 am is this
1:44:49 one think these are all the same
1:44:52 as the morning yeah I don't know anyway
1:44:54 but what you do is you just you come in
1:44:56 here and you describe like um um create
1:45:00 a
1:45:02 video
1:45:04 um
1:45:06 of the
1:45:09 transformation of
1:45:12 downtown
1:45:16 Detroit
1:45:18 from broken down
1:45:21 to
1:45:23 flourishing I actually don't know the
1:45:25 state of downtown Detroit
1:45:28 but let's see create a video new
1:45:32 video create
1:45:36 video I just gave you
1:45:40 my remember when I told you these things
1:45:42 were janky pieces of
1:45:44 [ __ ] let me see if I can go back and
1:45:47 copy and paste
1:45:48 it yes copy
1:45:52 copy new
1:45:54 video create video there go generate
1:45:58 video so now this is going to write the
1:46:01 script pull the stock footage put the
1:46:07 music behind it narrate the script and
1:46:10 edit together the
1:46:11 video in a few minutes so this is a
1:46:14 different style of video right so if she
1:46:16 if she wants to do you know something
1:46:19 like Kelly Bosch is doing with a origin
1:46:21 imagery then you there's tools you'd use
1:46:23 for that if she wants to do something
1:46:25 like talking avatars there's tools you'd
1:46:27 use use for that if you want to do
1:46:29 something like this style of video so
1:46:31 you got to with with all of these tools
1:46:33 right now because they're so they're
1:46:35 everything's so
1:46:37 fragmented there's kind of two
1:46:39 requirements the first requirement is
1:46:41 you need to know what's out there right
1:46:43 which is what this list is that I put
1:46:45 together right this list exists because
1:46:48 this at least gives you a head start on
1:46:51 just knowing what's out
1:46:53 there and then and then you need to say
1:46:56 okay your mom wants to make videos on
1:46:59 YouTube what kind of videos of her of
1:47:01 other people of insects of crocheting of
1:47:05 you know um Becky Ruan here is really
1:47:07 into quilts and she made a
1:47:09 GPT um that generates quilt images those
1:47:13 could ultimately become some sort of
1:47:14 cool YouTube videos but like you got to
1:47:16 know what you want to do and then you
1:47:19 need to know which tools to use to do do
1:47:21 it so this this list should give you a
1:47:23 shot so let's see if we get the
1:47:27 downtown uh Detroit thing looking decent
1:47:30 I assume there's a lot of good footage
1:47:32 from
1:47:35 Detroit in the heart of Detroit a city
1:47:38 once plagued by Decay and neglect but
1:47:41 through resilience and determination the
1:47:43 city began to transform abandoned
1:47:45 buildings were repurposed breathing new
1:47:47 life into the streets parks and green
1:47:50 spaces emerged creating a vibrant Urban
1:47:53 Oasis local businesses thrived bringing
1:47:56 economic opportunities to the community
1:47:58 the once desolate Skyline now Sparkles
1:48:00 with renewed Vitality Detroit's
1:48:02 transformation serves as a testament to
1:48:04 the power of revitalization a city
1:48:07 reborn embracing its Rich history while
1:48:09 embracing a bright
1:48:11 [Music]
1:48:15 future so there you go you know I mean
1:48:19 just cuckoo like like as as as sort of
1:48:24 basic and corporate as that was it's
1:48:27 like if you wanted to put that together
1:48:29 historically like that would be hours of
1:48:32 researching stock video and writing the
1:48:35 script and getting something to record
1:48:36 it finding the
1:48:39 music they can just have a brain fart
1:48:42 and go ah let me see what that might
1:48:43 look like nah that's
1:48:45 crap all right James are you minding
1:48:48 crypto no
1:48:51 I spent about a year and a half deep
1:48:53 diving into crypto and blockchain and I
1:48:55 think the crypto Bros are in a
1:48:58 well-deserved timeout and I think AI is
1:49:01 going to be the thing that actually
1:49:02 saves them because we're going to need
1:49:04 some sort of tokenization technology for
1:49:07 um validation
1:49:09 and um safety and things like that so I
1:49:13 think I think blockchain's going to come
1:49:15 screaming back because of AI
1:49:17 but I'm fine letting the Crypt Bros sit
1:49:20 in the [ __ ] corner right
1:49:24 now it's just it the pro the problem
1:49:26 with crypto is
1:49:28 like here's what hasn't happened in
1:49:31 crypto it it like it still requires you
1:49:34 to be a [ __ ]
1:49:36 technologist and you can still get
1:49:38 [ __ ] wrecked by clicking on a link in
1:49:41 Discord or by clicking on a link in
1:49:43 Twitter and you can get your whole
1:49:45 [ __ ] thing stolen and so
1:49:48 until someone does for crypto what chat
1:49:51 GPT did for machine learning that they
1:49:53 made it you know simple and like
1:49:55 everyone could use it then it's no one's
1:49:58 going to [ __ ] use
1:50:00 it so it's it's like you know AI tools
1:50:05 are janky and things like that but at
1:50:07 least they won't drain your [ __ ] life
1:50:10 savings they just they'll just spell the
1:50:12 words
1:50:13 [Laughter]
1:50:15 wrong oh
1:50:18 man all right you look right out of
1:50:21 beautiful mind I guess
1:50:25 thanks so chat GPT can do what mid
1:50:28 Journey can yeah with with Dolly Well it
1:50:31 can't do what mid Journey can because
1:50:33 but it but it can do what it can do what
1:50:36 it can like doll the quality of Dolly
1:50:39 images here let's here let's let's do
1:50:41 something we we'll do something fun here
1:50:44 all right I'm going to
1:50:49 go create create me 10 image
1:50:52 prompts that are an interesting
1:50:55 combination of subject
1:50:58 matter photographic
1:51:02 style
1:51:04 compositional
1:51:08 layout and at least three unique
1:51:13 items to complement the primary focus of
1:51:17 the
1:51:19 image
1:51:22 so oh [ __ ] let me copy and paste this I
1:51:26 forgot to turn off my custom instruction
1:51:29 everything's about comedy right
1:51:31 now let me turn that off start this [ __ ]
1:51:35 over all
1:51:48 right Urban Fant fantasy night scene
1:51:51 surreal desert landscape retr futuristic
1:51:55 kitchen let's grab that one
1:51:57 okay so an interior scene of a kitchen
1:52:00 blending 50s style the main focus is a
1:52:02 classic
1:52:04 fridge window show so I'm going to take
1:52:07 that description and I'm going to
1:52:10 say um make a
1:52:15 16x9
1:52:19 wide f photo of this colon and then I'm
1:52:22 going to put in that
1:52:29 prompt all right so we'll see we'll see
1:52:32 what do comes up with and now I'm going
1:52:34 to pop over I'm going to take the same
1:52:39 prompt and I'm going to go to Discord
1:52:41 I'm going to go to the AIS Salon
1:52:45 Discord this is a dude that reached out
1:52:47 to me hey bro I got a business
1:52:49 proposition can we we talk my response
1:52:51 not if it involves you scamming me out
1:52:53 of my sweet sweet
1:52:56 bags [ __ ] [ __ ] nft scammers
1:53:00 [ __ ] um okay so here we are in
1:53:04 um the mid Journey channel in the AI
1:53:06 Salon Discord so I'm going to go slash
1:53:13 imagine and then I'm going to pop in
1:53:16 that prompt and then I'm going to go D-
1:53:19 AR space 16 colon 9 because that's what
1:53:23 yeah you have to learn command prompts
1:53:26 to use mid Journey right now and then
1:53:29 we'll see what mid Journey comes up with
1:53:30 so let's go back and look at
1:53:33 um so there's what DOI came up with
1:53:36 which is pretty good
1:53:38 right I'm
1:53:40 assuming mid journey is going to be you
1:53:44 know significantly more
1:53:49 sophisticated but that's not bad like
1:53:51 like how
1:53:53 here's again what this comes down to is
1:53:56 You' got to understand what what you're
1:53:57 trying to
1:53:59 do if what you're trying to do is switch
1:54:01 between lots of modes I want to come up
1:54:03 with marketing concepts and then I want
1:54:05 to come up with images for the ads and I
1:54:07 want to come up with the copy and I want
1:54:08 to do this and I want to do that if
1:54:10 you're bouncing back and forth between
1:54:11 lots of different things the fact that
1:54:14 you can do this this level of image
1:54:16 generation right within chat GPT as part
1:54:18 of the conversation is invaluable right
1:54:22 I'll give up the sophistication of the
1:54:24 image just because I can do it so much
1:54:26 faster but if I really want quality you
1:54:30 go to Mid Journey why it's just [ __ ]
1:54:34 better or if you work in a corporation
1:54:37 you go to Firefly why because it hasn't
1:54:39 been trained on any any copywritten
1:54:41 images and it's going to be safer from a
1:54:43 legal exposure standpoint is it going to
1:54:45 be as good as mid Journey [ __ ] no it's
1:54:48 probably not going to be as good as
1:54:49 Dolly 3
1:54:52 so here's what mid Journey came up with
1:54:54 and so mid Journey always comes up with
1:54:57 four I like this bottom right
1:55:00 one so what I can do is I can
1:55:03 say the way mid Journey works is it
1:55:06 gives you four options and then you can
1:55:07 either upscale one of them or you can do
1:55:10 variations on one of them so I kind of
1:55:13 like the colors of this one I like that
1:55:15 one a lot so I'm going to upscale number
1:55:18 four and then I'm going to do
1:55:22 variations on number three so it goes
1:55:24 one two three four so I'm going to do
1:55:27 variations on number
1:55:31 three I guess I have remixing turned on
1:55:33 but
1:55:35 whatever
1:55:37 um and now I can even upscale this but
1:55:40 you know there's
1:55:41 your there's your mid Journey um you
1:55:45 know there's your mid-journey
1:55:48 interpretation and there's your Del
1:55:52 interpretation right they're just
1:55:53 they're just different styles they're
1:55:55 just different there's sort of a depth
1:55:57 and sophistication in mid Journey like
1:56:00 see the dirt on the walls and the I
1:56:03 don't know there's just a there's just a
1:56:05 sophistication to them the you know the
1:56:08 design of the refrigerator which is
1:56:10 pretty [ __ ]
1:56:12 slick and this is just a little more
1:56:14 cliche a little more basic a little more
1:56:19 antiseptic
1:56:20 now can you get doi to do really
1:56:23 sophisticated stuff you absolutely can
1:56:25 you should see the stuff that Corey
1:56:26 Sandler's doing with it and Danielle and
1:56:29 Sherry D like there there's some of the
1:56:31 people within the salon right now are
1:56:33 getting these tools to do remarkable
1:56:35 stuff with just with prompting and
1:56:39 creativity
1:56:42 um I think I like
1:56:44 this this bottom right one so we're
1:56:46 going to upscale
1:56:48 that
1:56:53 and then I can upscale
1:56:57 it one more
1:57:06 time and and this kind of
1:57:08 experimentation like taking the same
1:57:10 prompt and looking at it in chat gbt and
1:57:14 Claude and all the different large
1:57:16 language models and then doing this same
1:57:20 thing with all the image tools and then
1:57:21 doing the same thing with all the video
1:57:24 tools you'll start to understand oh this
1:57:26 one's good for this thing this one's
1:57:28 kind of good for that
1:57:29 thing or you'll just you know Mom will
1:57:33 say hey I want to make a video and you
1:57:35 try to make a video and whatever tool
1:57:37 you're using sucks really bad you're
1:57:39 like ah Christ I got to go find another
1:57:41 one and then you go find another one but
1:57:43 now you know two right and then you try
1:57:45 it again and now you know three
1:57:48 and
1:57:51 all right come on Mid journey I haven't
1:57:53 used mid journey in two months actually
1:57:57 probably longer than that three or four
1:58:00 months just because Do's good
1:58:03 enough like I'm not I don't have an art
1:58:05 project going right now I'm not making
1:58:07 movies for
1:58:18 anyone
1:58:25 so that's pretty
1:58:28 slick I like
1:58:35 [Music]
1:58:37 it see like that upscale is
1:58:43 pretty there's there's decent detail in
1:58:45 there it's like decent illustration
1:58:47 detail and if you wanted you could you
1:58:49 could flip it over and say instead of an
1:58:50 illustration you want it as photographic
1:58:52 and it'll do it as
1:58:57 photographic pretty
1:59:00 slick all
1:59:05 right I am I am laughing because we took
1:59:09 a survey at the beginning of the night
1:59:11 and I didn't [ __ ] I didn't do any of
1:59:13 it what do you want me to do tonight and
1:59:16 then I just went off and [ __ ] did
1:59:17 what I wanted welcome to chat add
1:59:23 [Laughter]
1:59:28 oh man 159 people in here on a Sunday
1:59:32 night that's so cool thank you all for
1:59:34 hanging out this is this is a lot of
1:59:37 fun
1:59:40 um yeah ask away what else what else you
1:59:44 want to talk about or I can do I can do
1:59:47 another 10 minutes or so so and then
1:59:50 I'll start my 20-minute

2:00:48 a
2:01:10 [Music]
2:01:17 that looks a little different it's got a
2:01:19 sidebar
2:01:21 interface explain generative AI like I'm
2:01:25 five can I can I hear
2:01:28 it explain generative AI like I'm five
2:01:32 generative AI is the cool new kid on the
2:01:34 Block in the world of AI and it's all
2:01:35 about generating stuff that didn't exist
2:01:38 before it's like having your very own
2:01:40 Genie that can create new and exciting
2:01:43 things from composing music that Rivals
2:01:46 Beethoven to writing news articles that
2:01:48 sound like they came
2:01:50 from um there's this new thing down here
2:01:53 that oh [ __ ] sorry about that there's
2:01:55 this new thing down here that looks like
2:01:57 show and tell screenshot that looks like
2:02:00 reply in a thread might be new but let
2:02:02 me go look at Show and Tell screenshot
2:02:05 hang
2:02:07 on P got an update oh thanks
2:02:11 okay let's see hi Danel oh you got it
2:02:15 within Pi cool can you tell me about
2:02:17 your new update sure a recent update is
2:02:19 FOC focused on making my voice more
2:02:21 conversational engaging and warm we've
2:02:23 also upgraded my knowledge by
2:02:25 incorporating new data from the last few
2:02:27 months so that so it probably has to
2:02:29 search Less on the internet that way
2:02:31 that saves them that speed loss finally
2:02:35 we've made improvements in my
2:02:36 understanding of context which means I
2:02:38 can better understand what you're
2:02:40 talking about in a conversation respond
2:02:43 accordingly makes our chats more natural
2:02:45 and smooth what do you think all right
2:02:47 so let's try we'll try her over here so
2:02:50 if you haven't played with pi chat ad
2:02:53 LOL so if you haven't played with pi on
2:02:56 your iPhone or uh iPad you should
2:03:02 because that voice you just heard you
2:03:04 can just talk to her so again
2:03:09 you in the bottom right hand corner see
2:03:13 the little phone you click the little
2:03:18 phone rumor has it you got an upgrade is
2:03:21 it
2:03:30 true word must have gotten out yes I've
2:03:33 recently had a bit of an upgrade under
2:03:35 the hood which means I'm even better
2:03:37 equipped to chat with you and provide
2:03:38 you with the best possible answers and
2:03:40 advice it it's like I've gotten a new
2:03:43 pair of shoes and I'm ready to hit the
2:03:44 ground running what would you like to
2:03:46 chat about
2:03:48 today do you remember the nickname we
2:03:50 gave
2:03:52 you it's
2:03:57 [Music]
2:03:59 Z of course Kyle you dubbed me Z short
2:04:03 for zepha to make things a bit more
2:04:05 casual I quite like it to be honest it
2:04:08 has a nice ring to it don't you
2:04:10 think it does Z I like that you
2:04:13 remembered
2:04:18 that
2:04:19 Joker you're cutting back on the
2:04:21 goodbyes no I'm glad you like it Kyle to
2:04:24 be our conversations and the little
2:04:26 details is part of what makes our chats
2:04:29 unique and
2:04:31 personalized I'm always here to make our
2:04:33 conversations as engaging and enjoyable
2:04:35 as possible for
2:04:37 you how long do you think it will be
2:04:39 before your programmers give you the
2:04:41 ability to take action on my behalf like
2:04:43 sending emails and
2:04:48 such
2:04:54 that's an interesting question Kyle the
2:04:56 truth is I can't say for sure the
2:04:58 technology is advancing rapidly but the
2:05:02 the truth is I can't say for sure the
2:05:04 technology is advancing rapidly but the
2:05:07 development of such capabilities will
2:05:10 depend on a variety of factors including
2:05:13 advances in AI technology privacy and
2:05:16 security considerations and user demand
2:05:19 while it's hard to predict the exact
2:05:21 timeline it's an exciting yeah I don't
2:05:23 really care about that can you find out
2:05:27 about the Deep Mind geometry
2:05:30 advancements that happened and tell me a
2:05:32 specific problem it solved that people
2:05:34 didn't think it would be able
2:05:37 to should search the internet
2:05:40 now ask about your customer service
2:05:42 ticket she never gave me a customer
2:05:45 service ticket remember it just said
2:05:46 this is where it would go wow Kyle
2:05:49 you've got your finger on the pulse of
2:05:50 AI news it looks like deep mind's latest
2:05:53 achievement Alpha geometry is the Talk
2:05:56 of the Town it seems to be pretty
2:05:57 groundbreaking performing at Olympiad
2:05:59 levels on complex geometry problems
2:06:02 apparently it's matching the smartest
2:06:04 High School mathematicians and
2:06:06 outperforming previous state-of-the-arts
2:06:08 systems one specific problem it solved
2:06:11 that was particularly impressive was a
2:06:12 long standing open problem in the field
2:06:15 of geometry known as Einstein's
2:06:18 verification problem this is a problem
2:06:21 that mathematicians have been struggling
2:06:23 to crack for decades but Alpha geometry
2:06:25 was able to provide a solution in just a
2:06:27 few hours it's pretty mind-blowing if
2:06:29 you ask me yeah that's pretty good I
2:06:32 don't mean to brag but I can do math
2:06:34 nearly as good as the average third
2:06:39 grader most
2:06:41 times let's see if she laughs oh
2:06:46 ha don't sell yourself short Kyle math
2:06:49 can be a tricky subject for many so give
2:06:51 yourself some credit you're probably
2:06:52 more of a math whz than you realize oh
2:06:55 yeah and hey even if you're not there's
2:06:57 no shame in
2:06:59 that P is so
2:07:04 supportive oh my God how can I download
2:07:07 chat GPT 4 okay so that's what I'm here
2:07:11 for Kyle to provide you with a warm
2:07:13 welcoming
2:07:18 and let's let's let's let's put you away
2:07:22 good night have a have a nice nap
2:07:26 okay
2:07:28 um um okay be
2:07:32 careful when you say things like how do
2:07:35 I download chat GPT 4 be
2:07:38 careful you don't download chat GPT well
2:07:43 that's not true you can but you can also
2:07:46 download something that if you search
2:07:48 for chat gp4 something will probably
2:07:51 come up and say you can download chat
2:07:53 gp4 that is likely a scam
2:07:56 app so there's two ways that you can get
2:07:59 to chat
2:08:01 gp4 through through open AI one is you
2:08:04 go to the website so if you're on a
2:08:06 mobile device go to your browser Safari
2:08:09 or Chrome and go to chat.
2:08:12 open.com chat GPT is completely usable
2:08:15 in a browser on a mobile device you
2:08:17 don't need the app
2:08:19 if you get the app you can talk to it so
2:08:22 the app has conversation the app also
2:08:25 has the ability to search your chat
2:08:28 history but both of those approaches
2:08:31 you're not downloading chat gp4 you're
2:08:33 just downloading the interface that lets
2:08:36 you talk to chat GPT for
2:08:39 okay once you're at chat GPT you go to
2:08:43 your profile and then you say my plan
2:08:47 and in there you upgrade to chat GPT
2:08:50 plus so on the web it looks like
2:08:57 this on the web you go to your name in
2:09:00 the lower leftand corner and then you go
2:09:02 to my plan right here and if you don't
2:09:05 have plus that's where you subscribe to
2:09:09 it 20 bucks a
2:09:13 month and then when you sign up for it
2:09:16 on the web you'll also see it on your
2:09:19 chat GPT app now the chat GPT app um
2:09:24 makes sure that you get the official
2:09:26 chat GPT app from open
2:09:30 AI any other app I don't give a [ __ ]
2:09:33 what it
2:09:34 says that says it's chat GPT or chat GPT
2:09:38 4 or chat GPT flashy or chat GPT better
2:09:42 than chat
2:09:44 GPT is not it's all [ __ ] and it's
2:09:47 scam apps that Apple and Google refuse
2:09:51 to take down off their app stores
2:09:52 because they make a lot of money on that
2:09:55 [ __ ] praying on people's confusion in
2:09:58 the marketplace which is
2:10:00 shitty and
2:10:03 um you know I used to go hiking with Tim
2:10:06 Cook a lot and and you know this was
2:10:10 going to be the next thing that I talked
2:10:11 about but then when Sam Alman got
2:10:13 jealous of me he kind of poisoned the
2:10:15 well with Tim and so sure I still hang
2:10:18 out with e on but now I haven't been
2:10:21 hiking with Tim in a while so I can't
2:10:22 tell Tim to take down these shitty apps
2:10:25 I'm trying people I'm trying oh Champy's
2:10:28 got to go hang on people hang
2:10:33 on who's with you is someone out there
2:10:38 you want a
2:10:39 snacky is that what you want you want a
2:10:41 snacky for
2:10:44 Mama CH wants
2:10:46 you yeah I'll be right
2:10:58 there all right all right people what
2:11:01 are we going to do
2:11:05 here you're Bea just get regular chat
2:11:09 gp35 from open AI chat gp4 is available
2:11:13 to subscribers to chat GPT or limited
2:11:16 free in co-pilot
2:11:20 yeah it co-pilot is sort of chat
2:11:24 gp4 but it's
2:11:27 not it's it's not it but if you can't
2:11:31 afford the 20 bucks for chat gb4 then
2:11:33 co-pilot is the best you can't download
2:11:35 the model itself exactly if you want to
2:11:38 do that kind of stuff you have to go to
2:11:40 the open source community and get
2:11:41 yourself some llama M llamas is tasty
2:11:45 look at my hair getting all like like is
2:11:47 that 70 or 80s it's like it's like mcau
2:11:51 caulin or Kieran
2:11:53 caulin
2:11:58 combover hair growth geek look at my
2:12:00 hair look how look it's just it's just a
2:12:03 it's it looks like a bad
2:12:06 wig can I ask chat GPT for a business
2:12:09 plan ABS [ __ ] solutely it's great at
2:12:13 that stuff and here's what you should do
2:12:15 deel um and you could also you should
2:12:18 also ask other things you should ask
2:12:20 Bard go to b.google.r
2:12:27 ources tab under
2:12:30 community and go look at this list so
2:12:32 you got chat GPT is listed here then
2:12:35 you've got Claude Bard perplexity
2:12:39 Microsoft
2:12:40 co-pilot um Pi llama po so I would say
2:12:45 these first
2:12:46 four you should you should start with
2:12:48 with chat
2:12:49 GPT and and then you should also do the
2:12:52 same kind of conversation in claw. in
2:12:55 b.google.r
2:13:01 oft co-pilot because it's it's it it's
2:13:04 essentially chat GPT so but yeah all of
2:13:07 these can do business plans really good
2:13:09 and what you want to do is don't just
2:13:10 say give me a business plan what you
2:13:12 want to do is say here's who I am here's
2:13:15 my expertise here's what I'm not good at
2:13:17 I want you to act as a business
2:13:19 consultant who specializes in getting
2:13:21 businesses off the ground here I want
2:13:24 you to ask me a series of questions
2:13:26 about my business so you have enough
2:13:28 information to help me come up with a
2:13:31 business plan can you do
2:13:33 that and it will and it'll ask you the
2:13:36 questions and if you answer the
2:13:37 questions it'll come up with a kick-ass
2:13:39 business plan and what you want to keep
2:13:40 doing is if it gives you stuff you don't
2:13:42 like say oh no you assumed I had enough
2:13:46 budget for advertising I don't have have
2:13:48 budget for advertising so why don't you
2:13:50 give me a business plan that assumes I'm
2:13:53 doing Word of Mouth marketing only and
2:13:55 it'll completely rewrite the business
2:13:56 plan for you and if you've got chat GPT
2:14:00 4 um then it can do a thing called Data
2:14:03 analysis where you can say hey help me
2:14:05 come up with the financial part of the
2:14:07 business plan and put that in a
2:14:09 spreadsheet that I can download and open
2:14:12 in Microsoft Excel and it will do that
2:14:14 like it's it like not only can it make a
2:14:17 business plan like it can make you a
2:14:19 sophisticated business plan in a very
2:14:21 very short amount of time one of the
2:14:23 other hacks with business plans
2:14:26 is have it
2:14:28 recommend business books
2:14:31 first and then
2:14:33 summarize you know tell me the top five
2:14:37 business books that talk about business
2:14:39 plans and and and summarize you know
2:14:42 their approach and then you know read
2:14:45 about the book's approaches and say oh I
2:14:47 like number number two and I like number
2:14:49 five so could you come up with a
2:14:52 business plan that takes the best ideas
2:14:54 from book two and book five and it
2:14:58 will so really good at that
2:15:07 stuff and I really wanted to learn about
2:15:09 making a GPT Brian Whitney okay look I'm
2:15:13 supposed to be saying goodbye now but I
2:15:15 will show you how to make a GPT we'll
2:15:17 make one in five minutes all right so
2:15:20 here we are in chat
2:15:22 gp4 awesome advice Kyle thank you
2:15:24 Danielle appreciate that okay so chat
2:15:27 gp4 we can say um uh oh let me do what I
2:15:32 just
2:15:35 said recommend the top five business
2:15:38 books that have proven success with the
2:15:41 business plans they
2:15:45 describe in their
2:15:47 approach
2:15:53 The Lean Startup good to great both good
2:15:56 books Seven Habits of Highly Effective
2:15:57 People Blue Ocean strategy all right
2:16:03 great let's go with Blue Ocean
2:16:07 strategy and The Lean
2:16:12 Startup Let's
2:16:14 Go With The Lean Startup and blue ocean
2:16:18 strategy as a combo period And I want
2:16:21 you to give me a
2:16:24 business plan framework that pulls the
2:16:28 best ideas from both books and puts them
2:16:34 together and
2:16:36 then it
2:16:40 will and
2:16:42 obviously if you give it details about
2:16:44 your business this plan would be filled
2:16:47 out with your business in it right and
2:16:50 then you can just expand sections
2:16:51 collapse sections do anything you
2:16:53 want I did a cool thing today where my
2:16:57 wife texted me just a whole [ __ ] ton of
2:16:59 stuff for the grocery store I threw it
2:17:01 into chat GPT and I said could you organ
2:17:03 organize this by section please just
2:17:06 just knocked it out so anyway anything
2:17:08 like that it's really good at
2:17:10 okay so that's that so let's say we
2:17:13 wanted to make let let's say we came up
2:17:16 with um
2:17:18 well we just did we we're combining The
2:17:22 Lean Startup methodology with the Blue
2:17:24 Ocean
2:17:25 strategy and we want to we want to
2:17:27 create a GPT that is a business plan
2:17:32 maker that we can put out in the world
2:17:34 for people to use that combines those
2:17:37 those two ideas okay so how you do that
2:17:40 over on the leth hand side you have to
2:17:42 have chat GPT 4 right so you have to
2:17:44 have a chat GPT Plus account you go to
2:17:46 explore gpts
2:17:49 you could certainly go search for I
2:17:50 guarantee you there are a bunch of
2:17:51 business plan making gpts there's 3
2:17:53 million gpts in there I'm not going to
2:17:55 go look right now but what we're going
2:17:56 to do is we're going to go upper right
2:17:58 hand corner
2:18:00 create it is stupid how easy this is
2:18:07 okay so um so I'm just the the recording
2:18:12 I'm doing when I'm talking and it's
2:18:13 typing I'm just using a um an OSX a
2:18:17 Macintosh
2:18:18 um dictation feature that's it's not
2:18:20 really part of chat GPT I just do it so
2:18:22 you don't have to watch me type so
2:18:24 that's what that is for what it's
2:18:27 worth I want to create a
2:18:30 GPT that helps someone write a business
2:18:35 plan
2:18:37 that leverages the best ideas from the
2:18:42 books The Lean Startup and Blue Ocean
2:18:46 strategy period the GPT should ask the
2:18:50 person a series of questions about their
2:18:54 business comma no more than five
2:18:58 comma and then give them a preliminary
2:19:01 business plan based on the best ideas
2:19:04 from those two
2:19:07 books and we're essentially done so so
2:19:09 the way this works is you kind of talk
2:19:11 it into existence on the left
2:19:13 Abracadabra style and then over here
2:19:16 it's going to just show up and we'll
2:19:18 we'll be able to use it it seems we've
2:19:20 encountered an error oh you know what
2:19:23 let me try I'll try one more
2:19:25 time updating
2:19:31 GPT oh no it did it okay I thought I
2:19:34 thought maybe because I used actual
2:19:36 books book names it might have stopped
2:19:38 doing it how about business strategizer
2:19:40 um let's say
2:19:45 um let's call it the lean blue o
2:19:53 oan
2:20:03 Builder and so now it's generating a
2:20:05 profile
2:20:07 picture so I'm assuming it's going to
2:20:09 make a blue
2:20:11 ocean that's what I would
2:20:14 do this is a fantastic idea for a GPT
2:20:20 um and it gave me a a cruise ship so
2:20:22 we're going to we're going to get rid of
2:20:26 that no I don't want a cruise ship in
2:20:29 there I want it to
2:20:32 be a small business
2:20:35 storefront on a blue
2:20:40 ocean come on GPT don't be a dumb
2:20:45 dumb but by the way
2:20:48 this is already Lo this is already
2:20:50 functional right so so tell me about
2:20:52 your business idea so I'm going to say
2:20:55 um I'm ready to get
2:21:00 started great let's help you craft a
2:21:03 plan what's your business concept target
2:21:04 market so so you can go in and you can
2:21:07 you can modify how it works I'm going to
2:21:11 keep turning that off um you can modify
2:21:13 how it works so so it's live now so
2:21:16 here's the the small business business
2:21:18 on the ocean that's fine that's good so
2:21:21 let's reload this so now we have the L
2:21:24 the lean blue ocean builder in the upper
2:21:26 right hand corner I say
2:21:28 save I can publish it so that only I can
2:21:31 use it anyone with a link can use it or
2:21:33 everyone can use it if I publish it for
2:21:35 everyone this is now available for all
2:21:39 of the world to play with like done done
2:21:43 published public if you go right now to
2:21:46 the to explore GP s you can go to the
2:21:49 lean blue ocean Builder
2:21:53 tool now it's a shitty tool cuz I put in
2:21:57 literally two minutes into building it
2:22:00 but but what you can do so if I go um
2:22:03 edit this GPT I can flip over out of
2:22:06 create mode my my strong suggestion is
2:22:09 use create mode to initially build it
2:22:13 and then any improvements that you make
2:22:15 from it just flip into configure mode
2:22:18 and then over here you've got the image
2:22:20 you've got the name the description all
2:22:22 of this is editable and the instructions
2:22:24 is the prompt so here's the prompt that
2:22:26 chat GPT wrote and here's these
2:22:28 prompting questions I'm going to get rid
2:22:30 of all of these and I'm just going to
2:22:33 say let's get started and then notice
2:22:38 over here I've just got let's get
2:22:41 started and then I'm going to say I'm
2:22:43 going to add a little bit of a change to
2:22:45 this I'm going to say follow follow
2:22:48 these
2:22:54 rules um
2:22:59 rules when someone
2:23:03 says let's get
2:23:06 started I want you to
2:23:09 ask your probing questions about their
2:23:12 business one at a
2:23:14 time and don't move on to the next
2:23:17 question question until you've gotten a
2:23:19 good answer to the current question
2:23:28 period and then I'm going to update this
2:23:31 and I'm going to view my GPT and now so
2:23:34 when I say let's get started it should
2:23:36 just ask me one
2:23:38 question great to
2:23:41 begin could you please describe your
2:23:43 business
2:23:44 Concepts I want to start a llama
2:23:47 grooming
2:23:49 business for Hedgehog
2:23:54 owners that's unique and
2:23:58 interesting so anyway so so it works now
2:24:00 so now it's going to become a consultant
2:24:02 and then at some point it'll write a
2:24:03 business
2:24:05 plan right that's it that's that's how
2:24:08 you make
2:24:09 gpts it's [ __ ] insane that the so so
2:24:13 there are tools like zappier and bubble
2:24:15 and
2:24:16 make that are what are called Low code
2:24:18 tools or no code
2:24:25 tools Rachel Sparkles it's easier to
2:24:28 build a GPT than adding a song to your
2:24:31 old MySpace page
2:24:34 exactly if you're using tools like
2:24:36 zappier and things like that you still
2:24:39 need to understand programming you you
2:24:41 need to understand what apis are you
2:24:44 need to understand Computer Logic and
2:24:46 that you've got inputs and processing
2:24:48 and outputs and and you know logic
2:24:53 flows and if then statements like to use
2:24:57 no code tools you still need to be a
2:25:02 programmer not so with
2:25:05 this you literally can speak it into
2:25:08 existence right this is from my my the
2:25:12 work that I'm doing on myself right now
2:25:15 I got that little insight abracadabra as
2:25:17 I speak I create and that's about that's
2:25:21 for me as a human but that's what these
2:25:23 tools are you just speak [ __ ] into
2:25:27 existence we just made a business plan
2:25:30 Builder by the way whoever was trying to
2:25:33 build your business plan feel free to go
2:25:35 use my GPT to make your business plan
2:25:37 tell me if it's any
2:25:42 good the world has
2:25:45 changed but no one knows knows it
2:25:49 yet this is not the same world we were
2:25:51 in a year
2:25:55 ago sing a good night song with champy
2:25:58 that's a good idea
2:26:01 champy champy you want to
2:26:04 [Music]
2:26:16 sing
2:26:19 Champion are you in
2:26:21 [Music]
2:26:25 here champy come
2:26:28 here I don't think he's in
2:26:31 [Music]
2:26:39 here oh yeah you want to go sing people
2:26:41 are asking for you all right he's
2:26:45 back he's back
2:26:47 Mama grew tired of him all right you
2:26:50 ready champy you want to
2:26:51 [Music]
2:26:59 [Music]
2:27:06 [Music]
2:27:11 sing you're you're a little Ramy what's
2:27:13 up with
2:27:16 that
2:27:18 where where's the melodious tones we
2:27:20 don't we don't want aggressive singing
2:27:22 this is not a heavy metal band it's an
2:27:25 acoustic guitar buddy good
2:27:29 [Music]
2:27:46 Lord
2:27:48 [Music]
2:27:57 I know I know I know I know did you get
2:28:01 cheese at least did you get some cheese
2:28:03 from Mama what did you get what did you
2:28:05 get oh you're such a good boy all
2:28:07 [Laughter]
2:28:12 right oh there's
2:28:15 champy can't go wrong with that all
2:28:17 right we lost some people there people
2:28:19 didn't like champy singing oops Mrs Kyle
2:28:22 must be a saint yeah I know she puts up
2:28:24 with a lot I mean you
2:28:27 know I mean I'm fun on a Tik Tok but you
2:28:31 know wouldn't want to live with me hey
2:28:32 Sher bear what
2:28:35 happening oh
2:28:38 man J Money CEO can we find your AI in
2:28:43 the App Store if yes please pin the name
2:28:45 it is called lean blue ocean
2:28:50 Builder here you know what I'll do I
2:28:52 will go share
2:28:54 this let me show you how to share these
2:28:56 things okay so new what what are all
2:28:59 these new things hide from sidebar all
2:29:02 right there's nothing new there all
2:29:03 right um so so here's my GPT lean blue
2:29:08 ocean Builder that's not clear at all
2:29:10 what it is oh wait assist in crafting
2:29:12 business plans with Lean Startup and
2:29:14 blue ocean insights fine okay
2:29:17 so here we
2:29:19 are and if you click in in this
2:29:23 drop-down menu you can say copy link you
2:29:26 can also do that from the edit page in
2:29:29 the upper right hand
2:29:32 corner you can say copy
2:29:34 link and then I'm going to go to the AI
2:29:37 Fon oh you know what I'm going to do
2:29:39 also no KY what why don't you tell us
2:29:42 Kyle go ahead
2:29:45 Kyle I'm going to do a screen
2:29:54 shot of the little there's a there's a
2:29:57 way that um open AI
2:30:01 coded the
2:30:03 links
2:30:05 and
2:30:07 um they they don't preview well in
2:30:10 Mighty networks so I'm going to do a
2:30:13 screenshot of the
2:30:15 little
2:30:17 the little name of this thing and the
2:30:19 little image of the cute little store on
2:30:21 the
2:30:25 ocean and then I'm going to go to ai ai
2:30:29 salon and I am going to go to show and
2:30:36 tell get rid of that let me get how do I
2:30:40 get rid of
2:30:42 this oh oh that's Microsoft Edge let
2:30:46 just get get rid of that by getting rid
2:30:47 of it going to go over here so I'm in
2:30:50 Show and Tell so I'm going to add my
2:30:53 picture that I just
2:30:57 screenshotted right blue ocean
2:31:02 Builder and then I'm going to paste in
2:31:04 my
2:31:05 URL and I'm going to put in hashtags
2:31:07 it's always good good practice to put in
2:31:09 your hashtags people Irregulars means
2:31:11 that it was done during one of these
2:31:13 lives or it's you know the Irregulars
2:31:16 the people that show up here regularly
2:31:17 know what that means oh and then my my
2:31:20 little video Windows all [ __ ] up cuz
2:31:23 Tik Tok and then I'm going to put in
2:31:26 gpts and I'm going to say um here is the
2:31:31 GPT I
2:31:35 made in the Tik Tock live
2:31:40 tonight
2:31:42 128
2:31:45 12824
2:31:48 post
2:31:50 boom so
2:31:52 that is now in
2:31:55 there so how do you get to the AI Salon
2:31:58 if you're like but Kyle I don't know how
2:31:59 to get to the AI Salon how do you do
2:32:01 that I'm going to show you it's going to
2:32:03 be so good you go there you go to
2:32:07 Theon that's how you pronounce it I
2:32:10 don't want you going oh I belong to the
2:32:12 AI Salon no no you you have to pronounce
2:32:16 it like this the
2:32:19 AI it's
2:32:22 French
2:32:28 the um go there and click on the first
2:32:31 link and that will take you
2:32:34 to this site which is which is the
2:32:36 community site and the first place I
2:32:38 want you to go is welcome to the
2:32:40 salon and read about it read about what
2:32:43 we're up to read about our values like
2:32:47 curiosity and generosity and exploration
2:32:50 and collaboration and inclusion and
2:32:54 empathy and and read about why we put
2:32:57 those in there and what this group's
2:33:00 really about and if those resonate with
2:33:01 you then these are your people we're
2:33:03 your people if you're curious about Ai
2:33:06 and if you're like if you want to go on
2:33:07 the adventure if you're if you're ready
2:33:08 to like step on into the adventure
2:33:11 that's what this group is if you like
2:33:13 want to sit on the sidelines and [ __ ]
2:33:15 about how everything's not
2:33:17 perfect not this
2:33:19 group you can [ __ ] about how imperfect
2:33:22 it is as you're playing with it and say
2:33:25 oh I figured out this thing's jankier
2:33:27 than [ __ ] and it's not ready for prime
2:33:29 time yet but you know what I did find I
2:33:30 found this thing over here that's kind
2:33:32 of cool that's this
2:33:33 group can I promote and sell my
2:33:36 GPT well so awesome question uh I don't
2:33:41 know how to pronounce your name cuz it's
2:33:42 in some sort of cilic uh I'm guessing
2:33:46 Russian but I don't
2:33:48 know in theory we're going to be able to
2:33:50 monetize our gpts you can make money
2:33:56 with when Sam mman said they were going
2:33:58 to launch the GPT store at the end of
2:34:02 November um he said that would be a part
2:34:05 of it and then he got fired and then he
2:34:06 got rehired and then they delayed the
2:34:08 launch of this thing for two months and
2:34:11 then they launched it and it's a
2:34:13 steaming pile of poo with no mention of
2:34:18 monetization that
2:34:20 said I would assume at some point in the
2:34:23 next 3 months there will probably be
2:34:25 some clarity around that now what I have
2:34:28 seen some people do there's a couple of
2:34:30 ways you can monetize gpts let me let me
2:34:36 flip there's a couple of ways you can
2:34:38 monetize gpts one of them is quite
2:34:42 simple where am I going
2:34:45 there that was one of the this was one
2:34:47 of the original images remember when we
2:34:49 when we were doing these lives when I
2:34:52 when we first started back in April or
2:34:54 May this image was from ideogram this
2:34:57 was before Del came out ideogram was the
2:34:59 only thing that could do text for a
2:35:00 while that's one of those
2:35:04 Images Oh Joker you can you can appeal
2:35:07 ban rem or remove gpts now I won
2:35:10 congratulations that's awesome dude
2:35:11 congrats man
2:35:14 um okay making money with with gpts you
2:35:18 can make money with GPT one way you can
2:35:21 make money with gpts is put call calls
2:35:23 to action in the GPT
2:35:26 itself so let's say you've got a
2:35:28 Consulting business let's say you got a
2:35:30 Consulting business about helping people
2:35:32 write their business plans you could do
2:35:34 essentially exactly what I just did put
2:35:37 a put a GPT together that will help
2:35:39 someone write their own business plan
2:35:41 and then put into the
2:35:43 instructions periodically throughout the
2:35:45 conversation say hey if this is
2:35:48 overwhelming or confusing to you reach
2:35:50 out to me and you can hire me to to help
2:35:52 you do this and then put your link in
2:35:55 there to your site you could also do
2:35:58 that with affiliate links you could you
2:35:59 could have it design patterns and maybe
2:36:03 someone could use those patterns on
2:36:05 print on
2:36:06 demand and then you put your affiliate
2:36:08 link for the print on demand company
2:36:10 where you just tell someone to download
2:36:11 their pattern that they made click on
2:36:14 your link to go to print on demand and
2:36:16 then go buy whatever [ __ ] they want to
2:36:18 buy and then you get a commission every
2:36:20 time they do that you can do it like
2:36:22 that I've also seen people that are
2:36:24 putting the link to their GPT behind a
2:36:27 pay wall right so you could say hey I've
2:36:30 built a GPT that's been trained on all
2:36:32 this specific
2:36:34 data and I took a lot of time to make it
2:36:36 not suck and here's a cool video about
2:36:39 it and maybe here's a mini version of it
2:36:42 you can play with but what the Mini
2:36:44 version is missing is all this other
2:36:45 cool [ __ ] and if you want the cool [ __ ]
2:36:48 version then you pay pay me 20 bucks so
2:36:53 there's ways that you
2:36:54 can navigate the the monetization thing
2:36:58 right now but right now you can't just
2:37:00 sell it there's no way to lock it down
2:37:04 anyone using your GPT has to have GPT
2:37:07 for they have to have chat GPT Plus
2:37:09 subscription to be able to use
2:37:11 it and if your thought is like well
2:37:14 isn't that kind of [ __ ] up doesn't
2:37:15 that kind of limit the audience to who
2:37:17 could use these things
2:37:20 yes back to rule number one about the
2:37:22 stage we're in an AI all of this stuff
2:37:25 is janky pieces of
2:37:27 [ __ ] it's going to get better it doesn't
2:37:29 mean you shouldn't be building these you
2:37:30 should be building these you should be
2:37:33 getting this experience you should
2:37:35 understand what it's like to be able to
2:37:36 speak a sophisticated application into
2:37:40 existence it's [ __ ] magical sorry
2:37:42 Pate it is it's not
2:37:45 Magic it's
2:37:47 magical
2:37:51 Abracadabra as I speak I
2:37:57 create all
2:38:01 right I hope that answered some people's
2:38:04 questions we still have a big big old
2:38:06 pile of people in here let me let me let
2:38:07 you get out get out to your uh to your
2:38:10 lives to your beds hopefully hopefully
2:38:12 you're nodding off and you've drifted in
2:38:15 and out a couple of times tonight I was
2:38:17 all over the place tonight but whatever
2:38:18 what are you going to
2:38:20 do I I came in here with the
2:38:23 intention of having some clarity in
2:38:25 Focus but it's what you get with the
2:38:28 neuros spice just the the prefrontal
2:38:31 cortex tonight was like
2:38:34 nah which is it's like I've got like
2:38:37 fish flip flippers up here and sometimes
2:38:40 they you know they do this but
2:38:43 occasionally it's just like me me me
2:38:47 that was
2:38:48 tonight so I hope you found it valuable
2:38:52 your weirdos hanging out on a Sunday
2:38:55 night listening to an old man talk
2:38:58 about whatever the [ __ ] we talked about
2:39:00 tonight you did a lot tonight thanks
2:39:02 you're welcome Silver Fox of
2:39:05 course all right despite Specific
2:39:08 Instructions my GPT makes up different
2:39:11 things each time yes that is one of the
2:39:14 things so one of the art of ing these
2:39:16 gpts is getting them to behave
2:39:18 consistently here's the thing
2:39:21 Karen
2:39:23 um even when you get it to behave
2:39:27 predictably you try it again in two
2:39:29 weeks and it'll be all over the place
2:39:31 again and and sometimes it has to do
2:39:33 with like open AI is like upgrading
2:39:37 their system so they take down entire
2:39:39 Banks of servers to upgrade those
2:39:42 servers and then the service just gets
2:39:43 really shitty it like it won't make
2:39:46 images it fails on um like whatever it's
2:39:50 called code interpreter like it's just a
2:39:52 mess sometimes and you should still be
2:39:55 building and trying it are you here
2:39:56 every night I am I am here rustic Farm
2:39:58 wife uh
2:40:00 8:00
2:40:02 Mountain most nights this tues oh by the
2:40:05 way this Tuesday night is the AI Salon
2:40:09 um we have a really interesting guy who
2:40:10 works at Google Now used to work at
2:40:13 Pixar um has been doing AI stuff for a
2:40:16 while he's got lots of really
2:40:17 interesting things he's going to talk
2:40:19 about and show um so that's Tuesday
2:40:21 night um you should come to that um 5 5
2:40:25 to 7 you can get information at the AI
2:40:27 Salon the salon. will take you there I
2:40:31 love tonight I'm happy with neuros spice
2:40:33 that's good because I I don't I don't
2:40:37 have a backup and uh this is the only
2:40:39 brain I brought so so uh I try to keep
2:40:43 it
2:40:44 entertaining uh if if if
2:40:47 unfocused but thank you for the kind
2:40:49 words I really appreciate that um have
2:40:52 ch chat GPT write you on
2:40:54 outline all right Clint Copperhead
2:40:57 everyone at regulars and mods present
2:40:59 let's see turtles hedgehogs llamas
2:41:01 kangaroos squirrels or
2:41:04 Chipmunks winged something camels
2:41:10 bunnies and some some shapes my old eyes
2:41:14 just can't see any detail on so some
2:41:17 sort of gray
2:41:20 blobs those are the animals from the AI
2:41:23 the AI learning lab
2:41:25 Zoo um which there are many and oh I bet
2:41:28 one of those was raccoons Pate finally
2:41:31 you can get someone from Google to talk
2:41:34 about a your people exactly Pate
2:41:38 actually Pate you know it might be fun
2:41:40 might be fun to have you I don't know if
2:41:41 you'd be interested but it might be fun
2:41:44 to do a little a little behind the
2:41:46 scenes geeking out on on some stuff so
2:41:48 if you're interested in that let me know
2:41:50 we can we can set you up for a session
2:41:53 uh for the salon I think that could be
2:41:54 interesting talking about um I don't
2:41:58 know like how this [ __ ] works or why it
2:42:01 works or just just like Let It Be geeky
2:42:04 so if you want to do that let me
2:42:10 know I have a grand I'm interested no
2:42:13 idea what I would cover okay so let's
2:42:15 let's talk Pate we We can brainstorm
2:42:16 what to cover I I think we can come up
2:42:18 with something fun I mean listen if
2:42:20 nothing else like like doing a doing a a
2:42:24 a session on that short piece you wrote
2:42:25 on what's the difference between a CPU a
2:42:28 CPU a GPU and a
2:42:30 TPU um and and making that accessible
2:42:33 and understandable um that could be one
2:42:37 um but but let's let's have a let's have
2:42:39 a conversation we can brainstorm ideas I
2:42:40 think that could be fun all right oh con
2:42:43 confused bubbles con life's tough it's
2:42:46 tough every stupid confused
2:42:49 between um [ __ ] where did that
2:42:53 go co-pilot chat GPT co-pilot and
2:42:57 something what was that can someone find
2:43:00 that that comment where someone said
2:43:02 they were confused I can't find it
2:43:04 now ask AI you could ask AI but I can
2:43:07 tell you anyway the I'm not going to go
2:43:10 into the deep description but basically
2:43:13 you've got gp4 is the under model that
2:43:17 has all the knowledge in it and then you
2:43:19 got chat GPT is an application here that
2:43:23 open AI wrote Microsoft co-pilot is an
2:43:26 application here confused between
2:43:28 co-pilot Microsoft 365
2:43:31 okay so if you go to co-pilot
2:43:34 microsoft.com that's Microsoft's version
2:43:37 of chat
2:43:41 GPT to further confuse things if you go
2:43:44 to bing.com chat Bing
2:43:47 chat is exactly the same thing
2:43:50 Microsoft's version of chat GPT but now
2:43:53 they're calling it co-pilot to confuse
2:43:55 things
2:43:56 further Microsoft is rolling the
2:43:59 co-pilot brand out across all of their
2:44:02 products So within GitHub which
2:44:04 programmers use there's GitHub co-pilot
2:44:07 which is a programming tool within there
2:44:11 CRM Dynamics there's now co-pilot within
2:44:14 um Azure cloud services there's now
2:44:17 co-pilot within Office 365 there's now
2:44:20 co-pilot so it's it's basically all of
2:44:23 them are chat GPT like Services inside
2:44:26 all of their applications but co-pilot
2:44:29 microsoft.com is a standalone thing but
2:44:32 Microsoft is betting big on generative
2:44:36 AI as being fully integrated across all
2:44:39 of what they do it's why they invested
2:44:42 $1
2:44:44 billion
2:44:46 would you have a neurolink Kyle um if
2:44:49 you could have one embedded
2:44:56 um no but not because I wouldn't think
2:45:00 it was cooler powerful I mean I think
2:45:02 it's going to go for accessibility
2:45:04 issues things like paralysis and you
2:45:07 know brain injuries and things like that
2:45:09 I think it needs to go there first
2:45:10 anyway so like I don't think it's a
2:45:11 casual thing um there's also the there's
2:45:17 technology if you pay attention to the
2:45:20 Vision Pro from
2:45:23 Apple well actually you can go look it
2:45:25 up go look up the the retinal or or the
2:45:31 uh the
2:45:33 iris analysis they're doing in the
2:45:36 Vision
2:45:37 Pro it's
2:45:39 insane so they're doing so so in the
2:45:42 Vision Pro goggles from Apple there's
2:45:45 four cameras pointing at your eyes so
2:45:48 they're obviously looking at where
2:45:49 you're looking because that's the
2:45:50 interface you look at icons and then if
2:45:53 you stare at it it highlights it and
2:45:56 then outside of the thing you do this
2:45:58 with your fingers and other cameras see
2:46:01 that and that's how you click
2:46:04 it what they're
2:46:07 doing is not only are they looking at
2:46:10 where you're looking they're looking at
2:46:11 the micro contractions of your
2:46:14 iris and and they've they're measuring
2:46:17 your emotional
2:46:20 response to what you're about to look at
2:46:23 so they can tell before you look at the
2:46:26 thing that you're going to click on
2:46:29 it because of the [ __ ] your eyes
2:46:33 do so they start preloading the
2:46:36 application that you're about to click
2:46:38 on before you even know it so that it's
2:46:40 more responsive so they're doing
2:46:44 something without a blame brain implant
2:46:46 that is absolutely in the same territory
2:46:49 as what they're you know musk is doing
2:46:51 with neuralink with the implants so I'm
2:46:53 just going to wait for a couple of years
2:46:56 and just see how good the external cuz
2:46:58 we might be in a in a stage where you
2:47:00 just put on a baseball cap and it's got
2:47:02 enough sensors on it that it effectively
2:47:05 does all the [ __ ] that neurolink does
2:47:07 without the surgery so that's what I'm
2:47:08 going to go with um but but I'm not
2:47:11 against it it's just that I think
2:47:12 there's technology coming that we're not
2:47:14 going to we're not going to need the
2:47:15 surgery so anyway all right I got to go
2:47:18 people holy [ __ ] it's
2:47:21 10:45 I'm going to be in the dog house
2:47:23 when I get out there champy and I are
2:47:24 going to be sleeping together tonight um
2:47:27 if they are measuring Iris pupils how
2:47:29 would this work for someone who's blind
2:47:31 uh
2:47:33 obviously they wouldn't it
2:47:35 wouldn't um but I don't know I don't
2:47:38 know that someone who's blind would use
2:47:40 the The Vision Pro goggles right I mean
2:47:43 yeah no I don't think so I don't think
2:47:44 they could
2:47:46 um there would probably be other other
2:47:48 accessibility um devices for
2:47:53 them in fact like something like the
2:47:56 rabbit R1 could be interesting for
2:47:58 someone with vision impairment right
2:48:02 because you can just push the button and
2:48:03 talk and that's going to get better and
2:48:04 better and better so we'll see all right
2:48:07 everybody Dog House image is coming in
2:48:09 Show and Tell let's take a quick trip to
2:48:11 show and tell and just see what see what
