6. 1:12which is a community that gets together um bi-weekly at meetings where we have guests we have a cool guest coming this
7. 1:20week a guy that runs a post-production company and he's been rolling AI into his post-production work
8. 1:26and everyday AI news that's our Twitter handle for a newsletter that I put together with Greg mushin and this is the AI learning lab

15. 2:24about things I AI here uh if you have any questions comments thoughts about AI pop them below I do my best to answer
16. 2:32everyone I can I'm an entrepreneur I've started I don't know 12 or 15 companies I'm a co-founder and CEO of a
17. 2:40company called storyvine which is a automated video platform we've been around for 11 years or so and uh
18. 2:47interestingly enough well these days is uh we automate video production but we have not used AI to automate the video production
19. 2:57um we're starting to use AI now to do things like do automatic automatic transcriptions and create omnichannel content off of
20. 3:05video so lots and lots of things like that and um and what else let me let me show you some things I don't have dual cameras
21. 3:14which is the bane of my existence these days but if that's my only problem we're doing all right so so these URLs here if
22. 3:21you've not played with chat gbt that top URL chat.openai.com that's the official chat GPT website go there and start
23. 3:30playing while I ramble on and then bing.com is also chat EBT if you go to the chat button there it's gpt4 it's
24. 3:37connected to the internet and it's free um I don't think it's quite as good as the official chat GPT website but it's still
25. 3:44there and it's free and then poe.com has lots of options as well a lot of different models you can play with
26. 3:50prompts.chat is super cool that will teach you about prompting in general if you don't quite know what's going on
27. 3:56with that and then future PD is just a big old list of tools I'm not affiliated with any of those I just think they're super cool
28. 4:03um You probably don't have the lights on quite as bright you babe you may be more comfortable um I don't know they're still pretty
29. 4:11bright here do I look darker interesting I don't know possible let me see let me see am I looking at them yeah you know let's see
30. 4:21no okay A little brighter anyway welcome to the AI learning lab um one of the things I like to kick off if you've got questions about AI pop
31. 4:32them in the in the comments below and I'll do my best to answer them but one of the things that um I think it's important why why I
32. 4:40started this Channel and why I'm doing this um I was um I was lucky enough to to be in New York City uh when the World Wide Web kind of
33. 4:50came on the scene and started one of the early digital agencies and you know kind of had some big epiphanies around the
34. 4:56world wide web and what it was going to do with the world and uh started this company called agency.com and what's
35. 5:02happening right now with generative AI um there are some massive parallels um to what was going on then I think this
36. 5:09is a big deal like that was a big deal but I think that this AI stuff is coming faster and more profoundly so
37. 5:19um let's CC say Greetings Kyle bourbon happening I might do bourbon tonight although I just ate dinner I'm a little full
38. 5:28I'm a little full I've got a an ice cold aqua agua I guess some country might say Aqua agua but I might do I might do a little
39. 5:42bourbon later saying you can darken the lights sir ah I see I'm a little too bright all right there I'm a little more more
40. 5:52colorful wait I can turn this one off if I turn this one off and I'll be more dramatic drama the drama of AI is very dramatic
41. 6:02all right very lovely can I day trade with AI well you can day trade with day trading platforms you can use AI to help you
42. 6:10come up with strategies and Bots and stop-loss thingies and banned engorgement strategies I don't know [ __ ]
43. 6:21about day trading but yeah you can I mean it can do a lot if you haven't played with chat gbt go play with it will
44. 6:29companies be able to tell when their employees use AI nope and and I guess my question will be why would they care so so right now chat GPT
45. 6:40is kind of this thing off to the side and it's kind of been it's a little demonized like what if someone uses
46. 6:45Chachi pite it's a very similar concern when the calculator came out all the math professors were like oh my
47. 6:52God people won't be able to add what do we do let's protest um so in a very similar place right now here's something that's happening you
48. 7:00know similar to how calculators and spreadsheets uh you know just became tools that we use and people
49. 7:07still learn math and know how to do math same kind of thing with these tools Microsoft and Google both are taking
50. 7:14their large language models chat GPT and Bard uh respectively and they're rolling them into Office 365 and Google Sheets
51. 7:23and docs and the office suite for Google um these tools are going to be everywhere they're going to be
52. 7:29ubiquitous and it's going to happen you know probably pretty soon Microsoft's are already announced theirs Google's already announced theirs
53. 7:36um Microsoft is enjoying um being a thorn on the side of Google for the past six months I have a feeling
54. 7:44they're going to be pretty aggressive about it once it's ready they'll probably they'll probably push it out
55. 7:49um I know I know I said that kind of glibly like does it matter if if people use AI um what matters if is if they use Ai and
56. 7:59they're not thoughtful about it right if they just say you know here's a letter I'm going to send it without reading it
57. 8:05um there was a lawyer two weeks ago that wrote a legal brief with chat GPT and handed it to a judge and the judge went ahead and checked the
58. 8:13citations of the legal brief and they were all fake and the judge said to the lawyer uh dum dum come here these are all fake
59. 8:25um so so if you do bad work you can do bad work faster with chat EBT you'll give me money like hey and you can do shitty work faster
60. 8:35with chat DBT um but you could also do really good work faster with chat GPT so if you have a tool that increases your employees
61. 8:44productivity by 30 or 40 percent and it's the most powerful tool you know known to the history of mankind why
62. 8:52would you not want your employees to use that is a question I have and listen there are reasons right now why you
63. 8:58wouldn't want to use it it's new it's early it hallucinates it's not perfect you know it can be a crutch all that
64. 9:06sort of stuff is true but this is a tool that's going to be quite ubiquitous in my humble opinion but Kyle you're not
65. 9:17humble oh that's rough that hurts it's true true true true I'm gonna give you that one gonna give you that one but uh all right uh
66. 9:32uh AI makes decisions web pages can't well web pages that are programmed to make decisions Ken but uh yeah AI is uh AI can do some [ __ ]
67. 9:43it's not reasoning but it can certainly help with that do you know the muffin man the muffin man Italian say Aqua ah
68. 9:55I I don't know enough Italian to even make a stupid saying aqua oh Jesus it's like I'm worldly without the world
69. 10:10Mercedes-Benz too yeah yeah if you didn't hear that Amelia's wife tuned me in on this one yesterday that
70. 10:16uh Mercedes-Benz is rolling Chachi BT inside all the mercy Doodles so you can just talk to your car hey treacherypt
71. 10:24can you teach me how to make money watch out I need to make a payment on a share of Mercedes um but yeah like these tools are going to be
72. 10:36they're going to become the interface for all the complicated systems we use right imagine the things you know you know the
73. 10:44you know those car entertainment systems that are like more complicated than any computer you've ever used and you'll you
74. 10:50can only figure out like two percent of them because they're so damn complicated and you almost crash the car every time
75. 10:55you try to change the screen well imagine having a system smart enough that you could just ask it to do [ __ ] and it would do it
76. 11:01including like booking you a restaurant for the night you know setting your map to take you there sending flowers to
77. 11:09your wife before dinner all that sort of stuff right that's that's the kind of thing that's coming so these are going
78. 11:14to be these are going to be everywhere oh boy someone just spoke Italian Emilio's wife I can't read Italian but
79. 11:21thank you I bet you use chat to translate that didn't you not saying I don't like the idea of AI but what do you think about the impact
80. 11:29of an AI in a society where wait what clone X where's the rest of your sentence you didn't finish your sentence
81. 11:43what do I think about the impact of AI in a society where what's the second half of the sentence clonax I don't know how to answer you
82. 11:58um welcome everyone oh we're we're a small intimate group on Friday night many people thought better of this they're
83. 12:10like yeah this doesn't seem like it's going anywhere I'm out of here I'm gonna go get a bourbon um dude I know when Taffy will go live I
84. 12:18don't but it's super cool um plumbers will have have work Radiologists will go home with AI although you know they've been calling
85. 12:26Collins Radiologists for about 10 years now I think anywhere where you've got people's lives on the line I think
86. 12:33insurance companies are gonna are gonna um ensure that human beings are in the loop for some time if you've got questions about AI pop
87. 12:45them in the comments oh clonex your your second half of your comment was right next to the first one I was looking for it somewhere below
88. 12:56so so the question is what do I think about the impact of AI in a society where profit is more important than
89. 13:03human lives well that is a mighty cynical point of view don't necessarily disagree with it um so so I think I think it goes a couple
90. 13:12of directions I think companies that are owned by private Equity firms and hedge funds and things like that that are only looking
91. 13:21at the bottom line um they're gonna slash their staffs right they're going to say oh 30 to 40 percent productivity increases 30 to 40
92. 13:30percent they'll probably say okay we now decree 50 cuts across the board deal with it let AI make up the rest so there will be some of that
93. 13:40um a lot of those displaced people also have access to these tools so some percentage percentage of those
94. 13:51displaced people are going to use AI to create companies to go to compete with the companies that just laid them off so
95. 13:58that's going to be a thing some of those people are going to completely ReDiscover themselves and take you know completely new career
96. 14:05trajectories or you know contribute to society in other ways so there's there's that some of those people are going to
97. 14:12just be displaced and it's going to be a [ __ ] [ __ ] show and that's going to be horrible um if it's at a big enough scale then the
98. 14:21government's gonna have to deal with it kind of like they'd you know dealt with kobit where here's a check or here's
99. 14:25Universal basic income or here's the something um I don't think this is going to be long term because AI like like the Industrial Revolution
100. 14:33um got rid of a bunch of jobs but it also created a bunch of new jobs this is going to do something very very similar
101. 14:40so so that's that's the the money grubbing pigs the capitalist pigs are going to do that I'll give you that I
102. 14:48don't think it's a hundred percent blanket statements like you know um everybody you know uh is for profits
103. 14:55over people I don't think that's a generally true statement um some companies will say oh wait a minute
104. 15:04we could take on 30 or 40 percent more clients or we could deliver 30 to 40 percent higher quality work or we could
105. 15:12cut our prices to sell more um or we could have our people that right now 30 to 40 40 of the work that
106. 15:20our people do is low level soul-crushing work so we're going to use AI to upskill them to do higher level solar energy
107. 15:30enriching work and we're going to let the AI do the shitty work that no one wants to do anyway and the the quality of work and the
108. 15:39quality of work experience for those employees is going to go up it's going to get better so that's a possibility as well um
109. 15:49I mean these are just tools right this is a tool and this is a tool that that a boss I'm a CEO of a company right now I
110. 15:57could look at this and I could say okay like I don't need these stinking people I have a small company those are my family
111. 16:03I want to do everything I can to support them and I want to make sure that our clients are getting great work too so
112. 16:09um yeah I so so I don't think it's quite as black and white as as you positioned it there um but um but yeah that's that's my thoughts on it
113. 16:22all right let's get to some other questions shall we what do I think of AI certifications if you're going into machine learning and um
114. 16:33the computer science side of things into the into the infrastructure side or the the development side of AI sure
115. 16:41if you're talking about certifications for like chat GPT you give me money with chat gbt buy my certification now I think those are all
116. 16:50[ __ ] because things are moving too fast and nobody knows anything like like we don't know you know it's always talk about you know
117. 16:57prompt engineering is going to be the new job well the the tools are starting to prompt themselves and the tools are
118. 17:02going to get better and better at prompting themselves so I think understanding how to do prompting is really important
119. 17:09but I think the specifics of how to do prompting today is going to be irrelevant three months from now so I would be very careful of anyone
120. 17:16positioning themselves as an expert in technology that's only been around for six months that is literally changing week by week
121. 17:25um if you're if you're going into the computer science side of things then of course go to Stanford and go to or go to
122. 17:30MIT or go do the free courses at Stanford MIT um I don't think you need to go to college anymore because we have tools
123. 17:37that can do that [ __ ] for us now plumbers will work I agree with that I think the trades the value of the trades are going to go up
124. 17:47um they did finish the sentence Tick Tock is just trash Tick Tock took away my dual camera feature that Dum Dums
125. 17:54there used to be a little thing here where I could show you this on a regular basis that would just be sitting there and then I could
126. 18:02occasionally go oh there's new people here go to those sites and do that [ __ ] and I could point to stuff but I can't point now
127. 18:08why because Tick Tock hates me how do I use AI to learn code for data analysis well so you can just go to Chachi PT and
128. 18:23start learning it like have it teach you what it can do so let's go so right now I'm on just regular old chat EBT so this is GPT 3.5
129. 18:36so I'm going to say um I want to learn data analysis where do I begin question
130. 18:51mark That's great data analysis is a valuable skill understand the basic basics of Statistics learn a programming language
131. 19:00like Python and R are popular languages pandas numpy Matlab explore data visualization get hands-on experience
132. 19:09experience with real data okay so I'm going to say uh let's see can you give me some fake data to learn on
133. 19:24certainly here's a sample of fake data um what might I do with this as a first step so
134. 19:38you don't need to watch me keep making up stupid things because I know nothing about data analysis but
135. 19:45you can do if if you've got a curiosity in this and even a small amount of competency in data analysis or even an interest in
136. 19:55it you can run down some significant rabbit holes you know I can say make me a table um of I don't know eight Columns of artificial
137. 20:10data um that would be interesting to analyze so it made me a python a little python
138. 20:26script there um I want to say can you put this in table format and it will do that
139. 20:42um so so one thing you can do is is you know think of chat GPT you know less as oh that's a thing people write songs and
140. 20:52poems with and more is like the smartest co-worker you've ever worked with and just have that co-worker start you know tutoring you
141. 21:01there's also go watch um go to YouTube and search for code interpreter for chat EBT um so what code interpreter is is it's a
142. 21:13full-on data analysis engine that will be built into chat gbt it's not out yet I don't have access to it I don't think let me just go
143. 21:22look and make sure that he didn't give it to me overnight because they do do that sometimes it's just turn [ __ ] on no it's not there
144. 21:29um so a code interpreter is is in your little chat box of chat CPT there's a little upload button and you can upload data you can upload
145. 21:37like 100 megabyte Excel file full of data and then you could say to it what's interesting about this data and it will
146. 21:44give you a whole data analysis report you can say find any anomalies in the data and it will find them you can say
147. 21:50um create these kind of uh charts that compare Trend a to Trend B and it will write the python code generate the chart
148. 21:59and hand it to you that's coming like that's coming soon like there's YouTube videos code interpreter for chat
149. 22:05GPT just go to YouTube and watch them and then when you pick your brains up that dripped out of your ears as as you
150. 22:12were watching the video then go to chat gbt and say teach me how to do this because it's crazy what's coming is
151. 22:22crazy call centers will have exact same accent as the region of the person calling do the voice Wicked yeah I think that's going to happen
152. 22:32pretty quickly I like my optimistic view of call centers is that the call centers that are these really frustrating uh
153. 22:40experiences right now where you can't understand the people and they're clueless and they're they have no power to do anything
154. 22:46are going to be replaced with uh synthetic voices that know everything and then you take some of that money
155. 22:55that you spend on a call center and you upskill your employees um to be high level customer service people so you have you have essentially
156. 23:04chat Bots with synthesized voice that people talk to but the chat Bots are good enough to understand that you know if this is if
157. 23:12this is a normal problem I'll solve it and they'll have some authority to solve it but if this is a problem that's out
158. 23:18of the ordinary which is that's always the one when you when you know you have something out of the ordinary and you
159. 23:23need to get to a person soon that's the one where you're three hours on hold with six different people like that's
160. 23:29just maddening so imagine you're on with a chat bot it quickly figures out that you have an anomaly in customer service
161. 23:36and it escalates you to a person that can actually help you like that could be a future that's coming so I totally
162. 23:42agree I think I think the customer support business is going to transform completely completely that can be used more on product what uh uh
163. 23:55[Music] I don't know what that what that was in uh response to let's see you could put a background up silly
164. 24:07I don't know what you're talking about what do I think of prompt libraries um I think they're interesting I don't know
165. 24:20I just I I just heard uh that IBM uh just created a a generative AI center of excellence and they have a thousand
166. 24:30people at IBM writing prompts so they're creating a massive prompt Library um I don't know how necessary they're gonna be
167. 24:40um let me show you something I'll show you something that that is a um that for me kind of points to to where this is headed so there's a
168. 24:52there's a plug-in called prompt perfect so I'm going to go to plugins I'm on gpt4 I'm gonna go to plugins
169. 24:59and I'm going to go turn off these other things I'm going to turn on prompt perfect I'm going to turn off trip.com what else
170. 25:08did I have turned on so what I'm doing right now with with um with prompts you can install prompts so what I see in this list here are
171. 25:16things that I've installed and then in any given session you can activate up to three prompts so I'm just turning on one
172. 25:23called prompt perfect and the way it works is if I type the word perfect in front of a prompt perfect
173. 25:31and then I type in a crappy prompt like um let's see right uh let's see um write me a
174. 25:46marketing plan for my gardening business that's about as bad a prompt as you can write but because I put perfect in front of it
175. 25:59it's going to fire up that plug-in and then it is going to what did it do it rewrote it rewrote my crap crappy
176. 26:09prompt please develop a comprehensive strategy for my gardening business that includes specific tactics and actions to
177. 26:16promote our services attract new customers increase Revenue please consider our target audience competitive
178. 26:23landscape budget unique selling points of our business the plan should outline clear goals timelines metrics and for measuring success
179. 26:31and so then it writes me a big ass marketing plan on a much better prompt so the the the whole idea of creating a a prompt Library based on
180. 26:45today's capabilities just just feels to me like some piece of that is going to be made obsolete probably sooner than later
181. 26:55um I think what's what I here's why I think there's value in creating a prompt library is that in creating a prompt
182. 27:02Library you'll you'll really explore all the different ways you can prompt I think the the act of learning
183. 27:08how to think of your native language as a programming language that's a skill that is going to remain important but I
184. 27:16think the actual tactics of how we prompt today I think that gets much more simple as as the tools I don't know take over that that task
185. 27:29that was very helpful great I don't know do I have do I have to have python no so so so here's a cool thing so this
186. 27:40was this was my my big Epiphany with with chatgpt um you know let me show you this the the thing that made me realize holy
187. 27:50[ __ ] the world just changed so so I was like you where I kind of knew what I wanted to do but I didn't really know python so
188. 27:58I said right right me a python program that uh I don't know whatever uh takes and takes
189. 28:12inputs by asking three questions four questions and so it right it writes that thing and then it even gave me an example answer so
190. 28:26here here's the code and I say um I don't know how to run python can I run it on a website question mark yes you
191. 28:44can run python code on websites there's some websites replit python anywhere trinket.io online right so so this is what I ended up doing and
192. 28:55I I was just kind of [ __ ] around with this thing and within 90 minutes I had written a python application that was
193. 29:02running in a website I didn't have to install anything I had to install a library on that website but it taught me how to do that
194. 29:09um and and I really quickly got up to speed so so depending on what you're trying to accomplish just have uh chat
195. 29:18GPT you just keep it like there's there's there's literally no shame in chat GPT like it doesn't care if you don't know anything
196. 29:27um one of the things that I've done with it is you can if you've heard of GitHub so GitHub is is where you know Geeks and
197. 29:35engineers and programmers go to store their code and share their code and do all the Kodi Cody [ __ ] right if you
198. 29:41don't know coding you go to GitHub and it is a confusing nightmare of Hell want to see watch this will make your head hurt if you if
199. 29:50you thought you made a bad decision hanging out with me on a Friday night now let's go to GitHub and check out the interface here GitHub
200. 30:00oh wait let me go github.com slash okay here's one here's a project okay so you get go to GitHub there's all this there's there's all
201. 30:15these links there's folders there's like dot ESL something ignore major overhaul and flow standardization number one one
202. 30:24three and these are all hyperlinks three weeks ago and then up here there's notifications and forks and stars and
203. 30:31there's insights and security and projects and like you don't know these are all related to this one project but
204. 30:37if you don't know what you're doing here it's it's completely overwhelming and if you know a little bit about GitHub you
205. 30:44know that there's one file here this one the readme file that is kind of the key to the kingdom you wouldn't know that if
206. 30:51you didn't know this right so if you go to the readme file it will tell you basically how to install this and what
207. 30:58it does and it tells you and it gives you some code and then there's all these instructions and if you know what you're doing
208. 31:04this makes it really easy to leverage this code right but here's what you can do you can just copy this readme file copy all the the
209. 31:15all of it paste it into chat gbt and then tell chat GPT what system you're on and please make you a step-by-step tutorial
210. 31:25for how to install that GitHub repository and do not move on to the next step until you've said okay to the
211. 31:32previous step and so it'll give you the first step and if you don't understand it you're like I don't understand and
212. 31:37it'll give you a little tutorial of that step and then you do that step and when you're done with it you say okay and it
213. 31:42moves on to the next step so so it's a kind of thing that if you're completely clueless about this technology stuff but you're curious
214. 31:51enough to try to figure some [ __ ] out if you if you can kind of Tinker with computer [ __ ] um chat EPT can absolutely help you
215. 31:57solve almost anything and if you're good with code then you're going to be able to just knock this [ __ ]
216. 32:03out you can go do some stuff I am not I am I'm a tinkerer like so when I went to install stable diffusion which is one of
217. 32:11the image generation tools I failed nine times to get uh this thing called automatic 11 11 which is a a web
218. 32:21interface for stable diffusion I failed nine times trying to get it to run on Google collab before I finally got it
219. 32:28and it was over a couple of months like like I would try and spend a couple hours it would fail I'd feel full of
220. 32:36Shame like I'm a dumb dumb I don't know how to do anything on computers anymore I'm just old that part's true and then uh I'd go away
221. 32:46for a few days and I'd come back and they'd fail again and then and then I finally got it so um all of this stuff is depends on how
222. 32:53how hungry you are one of the other things going on right now we're very very early in this inflection point so Chachi PT kind of marks this
223. 33:02this new moment where these large language models are made available to like the rest of humanity previously you know machine learning and
224. 33:12that was kind of researchers and data scientists and and things like that chat GPT kind of marks this moment in time
225. 33:18where in six weeks a hundred million people started using chat EBT 100 million six weeks it took the World Wide
226. 33:25Web six years to get to that many users um so so um so so there's a bunch of people right now using these tools that are incredibly powerful
227. 33:39um that don't necessarily know you know all these complicated ways to stitch these tools together and that's okay
228. 33:45we're very early it's only it's only been six months since since this stuff came out um give it a year and all of the tools
229. 33:53we we we're interfacing with right now will drift to the background and people come up with really slick interfaces on
230. 34:00front of them like Mercedes-Benz in their cars I have an idea about a company that uses stories from humans to educate AI well
231. 34:08that's kind of interesting my only question on something like that is who would pay for it and what what's the
232. 34:13value where's the where's the value there and who who's going to actually do the paying for that but it's but it's
233. 34:18interesting because I think that there's there is some fear that as the developer Community uses AI to
234. 34:25generate data to train other AI there's a thing called Model collapse where where the the models just collapse
235. 34:32because uh there's sort of this point of diminishing returns with synthesized data so there might be something there
236. 34:40um but I just don't know if it's a big enough problem yet um or who would pay for it but if you can solve that that
237. 34:45could be interesting I think that one is interesting I think a big one in two years is going to be authenticity and verification
238. 34:55I think authenticity the the ability to authenticate is this article reel is this person real is this live stream with Kyle real
239. 35:06um that's going to get really important as as synthesized you know people in data gets way more sophisticated wait
240. 35:13for the 2024 presidential election in America people that's going to be a [ __ ] party what do you mean Joe Biden's French kiss
241. 35:23in the gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo is he there's video really have you seen it two days before an election you watch it's gonna be insane
242. 35:39it's gonna be crazy gonna be crazy but there's gonna be whole new industries that pop up because of that stuff

251. 36:58Google search box and it can do almost [ __ ] anything and so I sit here and I'm like um uh make me a poem all right there's a poem uh
252. 37:14uh then make it a song right so so like like when you're just faced with a tool that can do almost anything and you know like
253. 37:25um write me a computer program that plays that song all right
254. 37:39there you go put it in a minor key so like like these are just parlor tricks and it's
255. 37:53like what do you do with it so so the the thing that I've found that makes the biggest difference is figure out
256. 37:59something you're trying to do in your life it can be really small it could be um I don't know when to plant the tomatoes in my region
257. 38:10go to church EBT and have it give you a planting schedule and then have it tell you natural ways to fertilize tomatoes
258. 38:18and then say what are some awesome tomato recipes and when am I going to have a lot of tomatoes to eat given my
259. 38:25region in average picking time like like the minute you give yourself a problem then you can say oh let me go see if I
260. 38:32can solve that with chat GPT or if I need an image maybe I go to Mid Journey or one of these other tools to play with it
261. 38:39so that's kind of the most effective way to use it is don't start with the tool that said if you've never played with
262. 38:45the tool go play with the tool right go start understand start understanding the incredible depth of what that thing can

264. 39:03there and just start playing you can't break it it can do almost anything um you know have fun with it do me a favor

296. 43:58a nickel every time someone used it and then a bunch of people used it and got a bill for like 150 bucks he's like I'm
297. 44:04not that's I'm not paying that for these people so the the plugins are really easy to build right now and there's not
298. 44:11really a ton of vetting and it's not clear how they work and um so so here's how I'm looking at plugins right now if you find one that's
299. 44:20actually useful like I think I think prompt perfect is actually useful I think the PDF reader things are useful
300. 44:29um if you find things that are used like wolf from alpha where you can you know ask it a sophisticated math problem and
301. 44:34it fires off to wool from alpha and solves it and brings you back the answer cool so so right now right now they're just
302. 44:42you know it's kind of like when the I don't know if you remember this but when the when the iPhone first came out they
303. 44:47didn't call them apps they called them widgets and widgets were just basically shitty little websites they were like
304. 44:53icons that that took you to a website that couldn't do anything um and they were all just super simple and people were like what's the point
305. 45:00why would I need a widget I don't need a widget for this because I got a website that does that and people are all
306. 45:06bitching and whining and then it turned into the App Store and it got really sophisticated and and all of a sudden it
307. 45:12changed the way we worked and so I think I think plugins are going to be the same way open AI also just um announced or released
308. 45:23a big update to their apis so for programmers who use it there's a thing that they can do do now where they can
309. 45:29call functions which is basically like calling a plug-in but you can have chat you can set up a set of functions like
310. 45:35calling your own data's apis and you can interact with the chat gbt like window that's calling your own data and so it's
311. 45:43going to allow the developers to do really sophisticated applications with chat GPT natively within the chat
312. 45:50experience so just give us some time they kind of suck right now yeah I would say I would say bask in the glory of the
313. 45:59simpleness of of what's going on with plugins right now find ones that are cool and use those and just don't worry
314. 46:05too much about the fact that they suck where do you turn wait where do you run your code Kyle uh I forget what what site I ran it on

323. 48:09input questions and putting them inside of um chat EPT prompts and sending them off to open ai's API
324. 48:19and then generating social media content so all this code the only thing I did in it is is I I modified the prompts like like I knew
325. 48:28how to write prompts and I knew kind of what temperature settings were but all of the code and all of the format of
326. 48:36formatting of the code chat EBT did so so I hit the Run button at the top of the thing and then over here it says enter the topic of the
327. 48:45article so we're going to do a a bunch of social media content on fat dogs because I have one and he just farted and that's how that's life
328. 48:55why is this topic important um because um fat dogs are cute what's the problem that needs to be solved
329. 49:09um gassy dogs [Laughter] solution to the problem more uh fiber [Laughter]
330. 49:24what are the results of the solving the problem happy dogs that don't smell now we'll see I my open AI key
331. 49:36might not be live and I probably just showed people my open aiq but whatever no it didn't I my opening eye Keys did but anyway this this was
332. 49:46um this was a real uh this was a real eye-opener for me so um Chachi PT told me told me about replit it wrote the code when it didn't
333. 49:58run it told me how to install libraries it it it helped me debug it so anyway yeah that was it all right I want to help my
334. 50:07organized organization analyze data because AI can write code what code should I learn I have no idea probably
335. 50:13python but honestly what's your name Cody um go watch if you didn't hear me before go watch videos on code interpreter

350. 52:31difference between synthesized video content and real video content right now you can you can tell but a year from now

364. 54:45how to write a plugin now it's gone to a couple other sites so so it's out there learning this is kind of cool
365. 54:57now it clicked on all this stuff I don't know if it can read all that stuff exploring the future of artificial
366. 55:05intelligence openai master all right here's a brief summary of the information I found they first have to build an API that
367. 55:12will be used to interact with the plugin after building the API they've got to create a manifest which basically
368. 55:19describes the plug-in and like when you would use it once the API and the manifesto created the plugin needs to be registered with
369. 55:27the chat gbt UI all right so after testing a plug-in you build and deploy it build and deploy create a manifest file
370. 55:37build an API host a manifest file deploy the plugin so again all this stuff if you know coding this is all relatively
371. 55:44straightforward but let's say um write me an example API to a free Weather Service
372. 56:01so that's officer searching the web again reading content failed so that happens sometimes so it's out trying to find us an answer foreign
373. 56:18all right so anyway you can this this is just boring right now but you can see what it does so so writing a plug-in
374. 56:26file requires you writing these pieces of code you have to write an API po let's flip over to PO for a second so Poe

379. 57:12Poe so that one writes like Edgar Allan Poe that's very depressing if you use the if you go to poe.com impo that's a
380. 57:19bot that I wrote that that acts like Edgar Allan Poe and it's very depressing because he's a very dark man um okay so
381. 57:29you can just use the chat GPT things up here you can go find if you go to explore Bots it takes you to like a bot
382. 57:36store where you can go look at other people's Bots like there's a dolly bot to to do Dolly image things there's a roast master
383. 57:46prompt genius HTML machine right so there's all these Bots that people have created so they're not plug-ins but
384. 57:52they're just Bots like if I click on one of these let's go find a fun one tiger mom that's pretty funny article bot generate a high quality
385. 58:03article that's optimized for search engines based on a provided topic this is like that that app that I wrote in
386. 58:10Python so someone just turned it into a bot so I'm going to say um write me an article we'll see how good this thing is on fat dogs
387. 58:25boom dangers of obesity um I don't want to shame fat dogs I want to celebrate them
388. 58:41please write uh an article for that the beauty of chubby dogs boom and it may it automatically made the bullet
389. 58:54points and these different sections and so I'm sure that they wrote I wonder if they let us see the now they're not letting us see their
390. 59:03prompt but anyway so how you create one of these Bots is you go down here in the left hand side and there's this option
391. 59:10to create a bot and this is free they want you doing this so I can I can say um let's see what might be a fun one to do um

427. 1:05:07generative AI are insane and I think that um what's coming from with generative AI the chat GPT sort of lit a fire
428. 1:05:19um in the technology world and in the world world that I think is going to be profoundly transformative and disruptive
429. 1:05:28and it's coming way faster than anyone knows and so the purpose of this channel is just to talk about this stuff
430. 1:05:33demystify it as much as I can educate people get people to try [ __ ] get people off just dismissing it and being afraid
431. 1:05:42of it the robots are going to kill us I don't want to play with that right why it's going to kill us I heard it live
432. 1:05:48it's stupid I heard it it doesn't tell the truth all the time you shouldn't use it um I want to stop those attitudes and
433. 1:05:56replace them with people who've actually used the technology and then if you feel that way I'm cool with that but if you haven't used them

443. 1:07:26um in Discord you have these things over here that are servers within a server server think of a server as a community
444. 1:07:32of people now within a server you have these channels and for each of these channels you have a conversation and
445. 1:07:37this is the AI Salon uh which which is a thing that I started and this is our server and we have a mid-journey channel
446. 1:07:43and then to make an image in mid-journey you type slash imagine and then you type in a prompt right so blah blah blah and then depending on
447. 1:07:54what you ask it to build it'll build you that image and then we can take that image and go to photoshop and use
448. 1:08:00generative fill to extend it but there was a request to do this with famous paintings so let's see what would be a
449. 1:08:07good one I don't know we'll go to do let's say famous paintings I want one that's famous but not one that everyone uses
450. 1:08:28see all images any requests um we could do the scream oh this is a cool one here are the 35 most famous paintings ever created
451. 1:08:42let's go grab one well that's a nice is that dega famous oil paintings that one's beautiful all right this is actually a

454. 1:09:10photoshop beta so if you want to use generative fill if you've got access to Adobe Creative Cloud you go to your beta
455. 1:09:18apps and download Photoshop beta and so now I'm going to say new I'm going to create a new image and paste in that painting we just grabbed
456. 1:09:29and I am going to actually see it pretty good there but let me let me change levels a little bit brighten up the the center
457. 1:09:38we'll crunch this thing down a bit so it's a bit more okay all right so there's our thing so now
458. 1:09:53I'm going to make it a little bit smaller on the screen and I'm gonna grab the crop tool and I'm going to extend this out to the sides
459. 1:10:03and I extend it higher and I'm going to extend it lower and so then what I'm going to do so now we've got you know that that famous
460. 1:10:13painting in the middle of this we've got all the white space around it so I'm going to take the selection tool and I'm
461. 1:10:18going to select the painting itself then I'm going to invert the selection and you'll notice down at the bottom
462. 1:10:28here there's this contextual menu and the button on the far left says generative fill and I click generative
463. 1:10:36fill I'm not going to say anything I could say you know put her in the middle of a lava field or you know put her put
464. 1:10:42her in the middle of a raging River but I'm not going to say anything it's just going to analyze what's in the the
465. 1:10:48painting and it will fill in all the rest so we have this little progress bar up top [Music]

467. 1:11:14doesn't suck do you know how long it would take you to photoshop that like even to that level like even if you

524. 1:21:20of the public internet like they spent I think a year and a half or two or three years just sort of finding data
525. 1:21:27sources and so like everything from Wikipedia to all the blogs to all the websites to computer to you know college
526. 1:21:34computers to just everywhere they could find data and then and um Sam Altman from openai talks about the fact they spent a lot of time on on
527. 1:21:43high quality data sources and I think that's one of the reasons chat EPT is so far ahead of everyone else is that their
528. 1:21:50base models just suck more than than chat gpts do then open AIS do about was okay if you ask chat GPT to do
529. 1:22:00a really complicated math problem it will look at all of the data and within all of the data you're going to
530. 1:22:10have a math professor that solved that math problem and you're going to have like 30 students that tried to solve that math problem
531. 1:22:19and got it wrong right and chat EPT doesn't know the difference all it knows is you said solve this math problem and so it goes and looks at
532. 1:22:27essentially all of the internet that it's got cataloged and it says there's this math problem and we need an answer
533. 1:22:34for it and it will go out and it just kind of averages together all this [ __ ] and then presents you confidently with
534. 1:22:40an answer that may be wrong why because statistically it probably pulled more of the wrong student answers than the right
535. 1:22:48um Professor answers so if you say act as a Stanford advanced mathematics professor and solve this problem
536. 1:22:56you narrow the scope of data that it's looking at basically and like the the metaphor that popped into my head is
537. 1:23:04you're in a helicopter over the Grand Canyon and if you write a really generic prompt go solve this math problem your
538. 1:23:10helicopter is really high and you're looking at all the little canyons and sub Canyons you see all of the words of
539. 1:23:15all of the internet and so it's sort of pulling from all of that data but if you say act as a math professor from
540. 1:23:23Stanford it flies your helicopter down into a little sub Canyon that's just that kind of data that's that's how I'm
541. 1:23:28thinking about it right now and that's why it makes a difference you don't just have to tell it to act as
542. 1:23:35a thing that's that's a thing that you can do another thing that you can do is you can give it examples so let's say a
543. 1:23:41lot of times people will say write me a business letter and it'll write this really formal business letter
544. 1:23:47and then like like that doesn't sound like me and they'll spend all this time like trying to tweak The Prompt and tweak the prompt
545. 1:23:54you can just have it copy you can take if you've got an email or a letter that you wrote that is the perfect it's your
546. 1:24:00perfect tone you like the way the salutation is and the way the the end of the thing is and the call to action
547. 1:24:07you literally just copy your perfect email and then and then you say based on this email you paste your email in write me a new
548. 1:24:15email to person X that talks about this subject in the tone of that of that email and it'll do it it's great at that um
549. 1:24:25so that's the kind of stuff that you should experiment with the other thing that that made a huge difference for me
