0:00 shut up 0:13 [Music] 0:20 [Music] 0:34 [Music] 0:50 good evening good 0:52 people let's do do it like this let's do 0:56 it let's do it the right way I don't 0:59 know if that's the right way but we're 1:01 [Music] 1:11 [Music] 1:27 here relax slow mo 1:30 [Music] 1:42 she sat on stool D said what do you 1:47 [Music] 1:51 want freezer inside 1:55 [Music] 2:06 [Music] 2:09 love to see next to you I shiver and 2:13 [Music] 2:16 shake and if I knew love well I don't 2:19 think I'd be 2:24 here asking myself if I've got what it t 2:35 all right happy Monday everyone hope you 2:36 had a fantastic Thanksgiving 2:41 weekend survived the families and 2:45 all that's good if you if you don't if 2:48 you don't visit them they're easier to 2:50 deal 2:51 with that's been my strategy for a 2:56 while you just wait them out 3:04 all right let's see what we got 3:09 going hello Tobias with 3:12 shaking I was watching Kyle in meta 3:15 Quest 3:16 today it's a little disconcerting to 3:19 have a 12 foot tall 3:22 Kyle such a short distance away oh 3:25 that's 3:26 wild Tobias is saying hi on all the 3:28 channels very nice vas good good day 3:32 Tobias Tobias is an 3:36 [Music] 3:44 overachiever now if you were watching 3:47 all of the 3:48 channels from a hot tub that would be 3:50 even more impressive 3:52 [Music] 4:01 so if you're new here my name is Kyle 4:02 Shannon this is the AI learning 4:06 lab tonight we're going to work on 4:09 um I made a 4:11 [Music] 4:22 uh I made a voice chatbot today using 4:26 Hume and I've I've played around with 4:29 Hume before Hume if you don't if you 4:31 don't recall is the it's the tool that 4:34 does um 4:36 like emotionally aware chatting voice 4:41 chatting um it's a different approach to 4:47 um to emotional interaction than say 4:51 advanced voice does it's more explicit 4:55 and programmed in but you can actually 4:57 see the choices it's making which is 4:59 kind of interesting but they've got this 5:01 tool that lets you build a chatbot that 5:03 you can then integrate in something like 5:05 twillo where you can actually create a 5:07 phone number that someone can call your 5:09 chatbot and have an interaction with so 5:11 I built one of those today and it was 5:13 pretty easy so I figure we'll we'll uh 5:15 we'll make one of those tonight I'll 5:16 show you how I did it and then you can 5:18 play along and go make your own your own 5:21 chatbot could be kind of 5:24 cool joker I'm watching while driving 5:27 perfect perfect glad that you're 5:32 commenting he's not texting and driving 5:34 he's commenting on Tik Tock and driving 5:37 while he watches the Tik Tock and 5:39 driving completely different 5:42 [Music] 5:53 thing Vicky Baptist H I have Hume open 5:56 right now 5:57 [Music] 6:06 Joker from the bar 6:09 [Music] 6:31 so if you've got um if you've got 6:34 questions about AI if you've got 6:36 comments feel free to pop them in the in 6:38 the 6:40 uh in the in the comments on Tik Tok or 6:43 YouTube I'm also on LinkedIn and X feel 6:46 free to ask questions there um all of 6:50 those three platforms I can see your 6:52 comments Tik Tock I can see them 6:55 separately um so feel free to ask 6:57 questions and I'll do what I can to 6:58 answer them so we can do that if you 7:01 have questions about AI 7:07 um a request for everyone is tomorrow 7:11 night at 5:00 pm mountain time is the AI 7:15 learning or the AI salon's second 7:19 anniversary birthday 7:21 party so if you're not a member of the 7:24 salon go to that address the salon. A 7:29 and click click on join our community 7:31 and that'll take you over to the to our 7:33 community 7:35 site and one of the little uh first 7:38 seven things you see there is RSVP for 7:40 meetings and if you RSVP for tomorrow's 7:43 meeting we've got speakers coming back 7:46 who who have spoken at the salon over 7:48 the past two years so please come join 7:51 us and celebrate and uh we went live the 7:55 week after chat GPT launched was our 7:58 first meeting so there's some really 8:00 interesting history John knack's going 8:02 to be there um John Knack has spoken 8:05 twice at the salon the first time was 8:07 when he was uh running some AI stuff for 8:11 Adobe and they hadn't even launched 8:13 Firefly yet in fact they didn't even 8:15 know if they were going to launch 8:16 anything with generative AI um and so he 8:19 spoke to us then and then he came back 8:21 like a year later where they had 8:22 launched Firefly and launched all that 8:24 stuff and went all in on it and he's now 8:26 at Microsoft so people like him are 8:28 going to be there and just just lots of 8:30 good people um so come back to that join 8:35 [Music] 8:53 that I don't know how any how anyone's 8:55 doing otherwise today today at work was 8:58 weird it was a little it was a little uh 9:01 everyone we talked to is just like yeah 9:04 yeah I'm 9:05 back I'm here I'm doing [ __ ] AI is okay 9:12 I don't know if anyone else thought it 9:13 was weird but I thought it was 9:15 absolutely [ __ ] bizarre that uh Sam 9:20 mman didn't 9:21 mention the two-year anniversary of chat 9:24 GPT on 9:25 [Music] 9:26 Saturday he put a post up that he built 9:28 a treehouse 9:29 [Music] 9:30 [Laughter] 9:32 which is nice but everyone's like you 9:35 going to do anything you didn't give us 9:36 any gifts what you got going on nothing 9:44 nothing let me see something 9:51 there which is which is a good thing but 9:55 that he didn't mention the the uh the 9:59 birthday thought it was 10:06 weird there are a couple more exits at 10:08 open 10:09 AI another another high-profile person 10:13 or two 10:14 left 10:18 uh yeah so I thought it was odd I 10:21 thought it was 10:22 odd oh work being slow yeah yeah 10:33 [Music] 11:09 oh good lord good people if you haven't 11:12 seen Wicked go see Wicked you should go 11:15 see 11:16 Wicked even if you don't like musicals 11:19 you should go see Wicked it's a very 11:21 well well done film you can just suffer 11:24 through the music 11:27 Parts torture yourself 11:34 [Music] 11:35 all right let's see what do we want to 11:38 do 11:39 here um let me go find something on 11:48 [Music] 11:49 X what was it called uh let's 11:53 [Music] 11:56 see let's see 12:03 oh there it was it was right there at 12:04 the 12:06 top World Labs I I I don't know if y'all 12:10 seen World 12:12 Labs 12:14 but actually you know what we'll do I 12:17 think what we're gonna do I know what 12:19 we're gonna do you just hang on people 12:22 you just hang on 12:25 people uh we're going to go to what's it 12:29 called uh 12:33 [Music] 12:39 um I'll be right with you I 12:43 will it's going to be 12:45 good it's gonna be good 12:54 [Music] 13:17 Skybox Dot 13:31 grock night we could play with grock 13:33 tonight there's some things going on 13:34 with grock which are kind of 13:36 interesting um that's not a bad idea 13:39 yeah let's throw that we'll throw that 13:40 on the list as something to talk about 13:42 that sounds good all right let 13:48 me great Salwa uh hi Kyle excited to 13:53 learn more 13:56 about AI voice agents so yeah we're 13:59 going to make that 14:01 Denver okay Denver's up 20 to1 against 14:04 the two and 10 14:06 Raiders the two and nine Raiders in the 14:09 second good good if we were not I would 14:13 be you 14:16 know I should probably put it on in the 14:18 background because add you 14:23 know thank you for the update though 14:26 okay 14:29 let me let's go here so if you haven't 14:33 seen um blockade 14:37 Labs blockade Labs is this 14:40 thing that is pretty 14:43 slick oh it's the Browns that's right 14:45 it's still but it's still the two and 10 14:47 Browns the Raiders were last night 14:48 that's right I watched last night thank 14:50 you they are playing the Browns 14:52 unfortunately oh Brandon Brandon I'm so 14:55 sorry I'm so sorry Cleveland Cleveland 14:59 kind of Cleveland and the Jets uh are 15:02 competing for who's whiffing at the 15:04 worst this year at least the Broncos are 15:07 5050 15:10 is our sales guys in Buffalo and they're 15:13 they're absolutely destroying it so he's 15:16 he's very 15:19 happy that's right I watched the Raiders 15:21 Raiders game last night oh man okay 15:26 um there's a reason I'm here tonight 15:31 that's pretty good OKAY model two is 15:34 retired fine let's go can we go explore 15:37 let's go make something here let's go 15:39 make 15:40 a this one looks cool start with 15:48 this looks like they've got some sort of 15:51 bug what you always do okay 15:54 so Street View in a steampunk City old 15:57 Victorian buildings so 16:00 blockade Labs has always had this pretty 16:03 slick text 16:06 to 3ish 16:09 world it's not actually 3D let's see if 16:14 I go here let's see 16:19 [Music] 16:21 render okay those are just different 16:23 those are just different models 16:31 uh we don't want cars we don't want 16:33 Vehicles let's see old Victorian 16:36 buildings very wet cobblestone 16:40 streets anyway the way this thing works 16:45 is this is not actually a 3D scene this 16:48 is a 2D image mapped on a spherical 16:52 framework that they then wrap in a 16:54 sphere and there have been people that 16:56 have been kind of hacking these things 16:59 where they'll take these these you know 17:02 I think you can zoom in on them yeah you 17:03 can zoom in a little bit so they've made 17:05 a high enough resolution that you can 17:07 kind of zoom in and out sort of like 17:10 you're moving through them but you're 17:11 not really moving through them you're 17:12 sitting inside a 2D image mapped to a 17:16 sphere and then people are taking these 17:18 spheres and dropping them into Unreal 17:20 Engine and they're putting real objects 17:22 inside them so they're sort of Faking 3D 17:24 worlds but 17:26 today this company called World 17:30 Labs announc the first 2D image to 3D 17:34 world 17:35 generator so I figure what we'll do 17:37 actually I let me share this as a 17:40 tab and then we can you can actually 17:43 hear it if there's audio I think there's 17:45 audio with this thing 17:57 [Music] 17:59 now 18:06 you're stuck in dixel Meadows flat land 18:11 we move Beyond fre the worlds to marel 18:15 upon 18:16 turn that 18:19 Genera goodby flat land welcome the 18:22 dream 18:23 [Music] 18:29 flat land bring us the scene make it 18:32 immersive like we've never seen give it 18:35 the death the 18:41 [Music] 18:44 light worlds to Mar upon turn on that 18:49 Genera stream goodbye land wel the 18:56 [Music] 19:04 so 19:09 that so this these are cameras I think 19:15 right I guess they're just showing that 19:17 you can these are real 3D 19:20 worlds and it looks like they're taking 19:23 movement files Maybe video files and 19:27 mapping different worlds onto them which 19:29 it would make sense that you could do 19:31 but the significance here this isn't 19:33 live yet so we can't actually go play 19:35 with it which that always sucks um yes 19:39 looks like cameras in Nomad sculpt okay 19:43 cool yeah that that tune was pretty cool 19:46 the tune was 19:49 um I assume done in 19:53 sunno 3D worlds with fantastic 19:57 shaders the the lyrics lyrics were not 20:00 exactly inspired but you know they were 20:03 solid they they were at least uh 20:06 accurate to what we were looking at they 20:09 had good 20:12 personality all right so so that was 20:14 some decent news 20:17 um what else did I see today that I 20:20 thought was worth talking 20:26 about I can't remember what it was all 20:31 right let 20:33 me let's go let's let me go walk you 20:37 through how I made let me show you 20:39 something that I 20:40 made and then I'll walk you through how 20:42 I built it we can all built it together 20:45 change your 20:49 tabs change your tabs 20:52 back which tabs I don't know what you're 20:56 talking 20:58 about oh still sharing the song it's not 21:02 playing oh yeah no I just haven't moved 21:04 yet I haven't moved over to this thing I 21:06 I'm going to I'm gonna un unshare hang 21:08 on a 21:09 sec I want to share it as a 21:15 tab 21:17 okay all right so we got this thing 21:22 um let let me zoom in on that button 21:24 this is a a very sophisticated site that 21:27 I built today it's got It's got a button 21:30 on 21:31 [Laughter] 21:33 it 21:36 um you mean Brandon hasn't lined up 21:39 topics for you uh we talked a a little 21:42 bit about them I just forgot I don't 21:43 know he might have written them 21:47 [Music] 21:49 down oh rumors of 01 regular yeah we 21:52 talked a little bit about that human 21:55 voice chat 21:56 grock yeah 21:59 yeah we'll get to all that stuff okay 22:01 cool yeah we've got it we've got a list 22:03 we got a list I'm just I'm just trying 22:05 to figure out what order I want to do 22:06 things in Smash that like button I like 22:09 that 22:10 Vicki the Thumbs Up 22:14 Button 22:16 okay so let me show you what this thing 22:18 is hopefully this 22:26 works hey there how's it going 22:31 hey I'm doing great always excited to 22:33 explore ideas and possibilities I love 22:35 that mix of curiosity and determination 22:37 I'm picking up from you what's on your 22:39 mind today I'm here H looks like you 22:43 [Laughter] 22:46 bombed uh oh looks like it really bombed 22:49 hang on let me reload the 22:53 page hey there how's it going can you uh 22:56 tell me where I should get started with 22:58 AI 23:03 hello I can 23:08 sense yes go 23:13 on let me check what's happening right 23:15 now in the AI beginner space to give you 23:17 the most current starting 23:19 point here's what I'd suggest as your 23:21 first steps keeping it super practical 23:24 start with Chad GPT it's like having 23:26 training wheels for AI just created an 23:29 account and start conversations no 23:31 coding needed think of it as your AI 23:33 sandbox where you can't really break 23:35 anything what interests you most about 23:37 AI are you looking to use it for work 23:40 creative projects or just personal 23:42 curiosity that'll help me point you in 23:44 the most relevant Direction what are 23:47 your 23:50 qualifications I appreciate your 23:52 skepticism that's actually quite healthy 23:53 in this space let me be completely 23:55 direct I'm an AI model designed to 23:58 reflect the expertise and perspective of 24:00 Kyle Shannon I was there in the early 24:02 days of the internet co-founding 24:04 agency.com in the 1990s one of the first 24:07 digital agencies where we helped build 24:08 websites for Fortune 500 companies 24:10 before most people even knew what a 24:12 website was more recently yeah yeah yeah 24:14 I don't really care all right um how do 24:16 I learn chat GPT like what are the what 24:19 are what are things inside chat GPT I 24:21 should 24:23 learn let me check the latest tips and 24:26 tricks for chat GPT specifically 24:30 okay here's the no fluff starter guide 24:32 first just start with basic questions 24:34 treat it like a really smart search 24:36 engine ask it to explain things you're 24:38 curious about okay so that thing is you 24:42 know it's it's a little janky right with 24:46 all AI we we've got to accept things are 24:48 janky um wait we got a tick tock pin 24:50 here hang on a sec first three rules of 24:53 every Tech demo one it will crash two it 24:57 will crash three it will crash we uh in 25:00 the early days of Story vine we we 25:02 called it danger selling we had we had a 25:05 when we first started selling Story vine 25:07 it's this automated video editing app 25:09 right and so you answer a series of 25:11 questions in a mobile app and then it 25:13 goes up to the cloud gets edited five 25:15 minutes later you got a fully edited 25:18 video and um our very first demo piece 25:23 of software demo whereare was we had an 25:27 app that you could record in 25:29 and then that app was Tethered to a 25:31 single MacBook Pro running Final Cut Pro 25:35 with macros so what would happen is I'd 25:38 interview someone in a in a pitch and 25:41 then it would send those files to my 25:43 laptop and it would just fire off these 25:46 series of macros where Final Cut Pro 25:49 would start editing the video and my 25:52 partner would watch it do the editing 25:56 and then at some point she would kind of 25:58 Nod that it was ready and like move the 26:00 file over to the the presentation laptop 26:03 I was on and I'd show the video I 26:05 actually got a standing ovation once for 26:07 that demo um at into it believe it or 26:09 not and uh but we called it danger 26:13 selling because every time um Apple 26:16 updated Final Cut Pro it broke all of 26:18 our macros and like they would do it you 26:21 know two three times a day 26:23 sometimes so so yeah Tech demos Tech 26:26 demos are always a [ __ ] show 26:29 um okay 26:32 so making that thing was actually pretty 26:37 straightforward and and that's what 26:38 we're going to go through so if you go 26:39 to platform. 26:44 hum. um there's this thing called the 26:48 empathetic voice interface and you can 26:51 make these Bots basically and so I made 26:54 one here and if I say edit this oh hang 26:58 on 26:59 on platform. hum. let me change my 27:03 screen 27:11 share and then let me go here and go 27:16 here and go 27:21 [Music] 27:27 here um 27:32 yeah this is it here 27:38 okay all right so let me walk you 27:41 through this this 27:43 interface um there are there are two 27:47 models ev1 and ev2 or yeah 27:51 ev2 two is the it's faster and cheaper 27:55 so I don't know I I don't know why the I 27:57 I guess the reason 27:59 these companies keep the old models is 28:01 because people have built technology on 28:03 them because this is this is ultimately 28:05 designed to be something that you um 28:10 that you build into other software let 28:12 me see how we're doing here with Tik Tok 28:14 can you see that sort of black bar needs 28:17 to go 28:19 back all right there we 28:23 go beautiful fantastic Bob tell him what 28:27 he's won man you don't want anything 28:30 you're not playing a game there 28:34 Buckaroo um so you got these two models 28:37 then you pick a voice and you can either 28:39 do a preset Voice or you can do a custom 28:42 voice and what's cool about the custom 28:45 voice is this is a new tool that they 28:47 put out today I think um but you start 28:52 with a Bas voice and then you can make 28:54 it more masculine or more feminine you 28:56 can make it assertive buoyant confident 28:59 enthusiastic nasal relaxed smooth tepid 29:03 or tight and basically you just you know 29:06 move those sliders around and then test 29:08 your 29:14 voice and so let me take down enthusiasm 29:18 a bit and we'll take up confidence a bit 29:22 and test it 29:27 now and sounds about the same to me 29:31 so let's 29:33 do uh smoothness let's we'll make we'll 29:38 go way smooth what's smooth sound 29:46 like yeah he he sounds like he just got 29:48 stoned he just like this this guy just 29:51 sounds like he just had a 29:53 gummy oh you don't hear it oh God 30:01 I I I 30:03 cannot I cannot 30:06 articulate how frustrating it is to try 30:11 to Share 30:12 technology when at the operating system 30:15 level the software [ __ ] sucks sorry 30:19 about 30:21 that all right so this was this was up 30:25 here before tell me if you can hear it 30:27 now 30:29 hello I'm your friendly neighborhood AI 30:31 with a knack for emotional intelligence 30:33 yeah you hear on not going through my 30:36 system yeah okay is that better that's 30:39 better on YouTube you can hear that on 30:41 YouTube 30:46 [Music] 30:47 now okay good all right so I took this 30:51 down to smooth I I brought smoothness 30:54 down to smooth and he sounded like a 30:56 stoner 30:58 hello I'm your friendly neighborhood AI 31:01 with a knack for emotional intelligence 31:03 what's on your mind today hey man what's 31:06 happening so let's make him a little 31:08 more 31:08 staccato and then what's tight let's 31:11 play with 31:12 tight hello I'm your friendly 31:14 neighborhood yeah sounds like I got a 31:16 stick up his ass we'll go a little 31:19 breathy hello I'm your friendly 31:21 neighborhood AI with a knack for 31:23 emotional intell nice tepin and vigorous 31:25 let's go 31:27 vigorous hello hello I'm your friendly 31:30 okay that's annoying tepid tepid was 31:33 better hello I'm your friendly 31:35 neighborhood AI with a knack for 31:37 emotional intelligence go 31:41 nasally hello I'm your friendly 31:44 neighborhood AI with a knack for 31:45 emotional intelligence so this is kind 31:47 of cool so you can you know muck with 31:49 those things and get them where you want 31:50 or you can just pick a preset voice it's 31:53 fine then what you do is you grab a um a 31:57 model they recommend Claude 3.5 32:02 latest because because anthropic wasn't 32:05 creative enough to call it 3.6 there's 32:08 3.5 not latest and there's 3.5 latest so 32:13 so they have that but they've got gp4 in 32:15 here they got gp4 Mini U they've got 32:18 llama in here they've got Gemma in here 32:21 um they've got some of the older models 32:23 let's see take a screenshot of the 32:25 controls think of a voice you like ask 32:28 chat GPT to describe it oh that's 32:33 interesting that's a really interesting 32:35 idea Danielle all right let's let's go 32:38 grab 32:41 this so I'm gonna have to I'm gonna have 32:43 to switch screen shares again because 32:46 Apple or Google or whoever the [ __ ] is 32:49 doing software design with audio sharing 32:57 [Music] 32:59 let me save that to the 33:04 desktop well we we I save that to the 33:06 desktop let me come back to that because 33:08 that's a that's a good thing but it's an 33:09 add it's an add moment so let me let me 33:12 let me try to get through something here 33:15 without 33:17 squirreling um okay so you pick a model 33:20 um they've got temperature I just 33:21 noticed I have temperature turned all 33:23 the way up to one so whenever you have 33:26 temperature when you're at zero it's 33:28 it's essentially less creative and more 33:31 predictable when you're at one it's it's 33:34 the most creative and and less 33:36 predictable I think that um it it acts a 33:40 little weird so I think probably having 33:42 it seven or eight is probably more where 33:44 I want it so I'm gonna move that down to 33:46 08 um and then you've got a system 33:50 prompt and then you've got quick 33:52 responses on and let's see enables quick 33:55 short responses from Hume Elm 33:58 before the supplemental large language 34:00 response so that's that's kind of smart 34:02 that's like okay you know I'll start 34:05 answering you now while the llm is doing 34:07 [ __ ] in the background um inactivity 34:10 timeout maximum duration the reason this 34:12 is a good thing is this costs seven 34:16 cents a minute um as an API call so if 34:20 you had someone on here doing 24hour 34:22 conversations they could make you broke 34:25 so that's bad um there's event message 34:28 mesages you can put in there there's 34:29 tools you can use like I have web search 34:31 turned on which is actually really 34:33 interesting and then I have a 34:34 description and that's basically 34:37 it um and then to use it you can say run 34:40 in the 34:41 playground uh we'll say save and 34:46 continue and now I can say start call so 34:48 now I'm in this is kind of like the 34:50 playground for open AI 34:58 hey Kyle how's it going today hey I'd 35:02 like you to teach me about AI do you 35:05 know anything about AI Could you teach 35:06 me something about 35:09 AI I don't think you can watch our own 35:15 thing I think I talk too 35:19 much well if you think you talk too much 35:22 I probably shouldn't mention my AI 35:24 learning lab sessions on Tik Tok where I 35:25 talk about AI every single week night 35:27 that's touche will you teach me 35:29 something tonight what are you going to 35:30 teach me I want to learn 35:34 something I appreciate your ready to 35:36 learn before I dive in what interests 35:38 you most I could tell you about AI or 35:41 how AI is transforming story okay so 35:44 that's it so you can play with it now if 35:46 I go back to um 35:49 configurations and go in and edit this 35:52 you'll notice at the top of the screen 35:54 here there's activity is you know here's 35:57 all the chats I've had with it here's 35:58 the different versions so if you screw 36:01 something up and want to go back a 36:02 version you can and then there's this 36:04 deploy Tab and the deploy tab gives you 36:07 three different options there's a twilio 36:09 web hook and twilio will allow you to 36:12 create a phone number and then make it 36:15 so that someone can call this voice and 36:17 have a conversation with it so I'm gonna 36:20 I'm going to show you now how I made the 36:21 system prompt for this because that's 36:23 kind of the magic of making it act like 36:25 what you want it to act like um but then 36:28 once it's made you can do 36:31 nextjs uh this is what I did I deployed 36:33 it with versal which is a you know 36:35 virtual hosting kind of 36:38 thing um and then you can do it with 36:41 python and install that wherever you 36:43 know wherever you want to put your 36:45 python like in a website or something 36:47 like that so if you're a little bit 36:49 geeky you can actually deploy this thing 36:52 and share it with the world so I 36:56 will cop the app here and I'll put this 37:00 on oh I probably shouldn't do it should 37:03 I well [ __ ] it um I think I 37:07 have I had 1800 seconds that's three 37:10 minutes okay so the calls are limited to 37:11 three minutes so I'll put this so 37:14 there's the app that I built so if you 37:16 want to go chat with my little dude 37:18 there there it is I just put it there on 37:21 uh on screen and in 37:25 uh in YouTube 37:29 all 37:30 right in the YouTube chat I think it 37:33 might also go to the LinkedIn chat I'm 37:35 not sure I know it goes to YouTube I 37:37 know it doesn't go to x it might go to 37:41 um that okay now how did I make 37:47 my 37:50 um how did I make the system prompt let 37:53 me change up my screen sharing 37:57 [Music] 38:07 okay so if I go back into configuration 38:11 here and I open up my system 38:18 prompt you know it says you're an AI 38:21 designed to embody the expertise tone 38:22 and worldview of Kyle Shannon a Pioneer 38:25 in creative technology blah blah blah 38:26 right so so there 's your basic prompt 38:29 and then key attributes expertise in 38:31 technology and storytelling and there's 38:33 some bullet points maintain an 38:35 optimistic curious and engaging demeanor 38:37 so there's a bunch of things in here 38:39 that kind of describe 38:40 me so when I first 38:43 started playing with this and I got to 38:46 the system prompt I was 38:49 like I I don't know your relationship 38:52 with your creative mind but sometimes 38:55 when I'm trying to learn something and I 38:56 come upon a blank 38:58 field that's like say something 39:01 intelligent here my brain shuts down 39:03 like I I literally like I've been I do 39:06 this a lot right I know how to write 39:08 prompts and I'm like staring at that box 39:10 like oh what I put in there anybody know 39:14 how to put it what to put you what the 39:16 system prompt what is 39:19 that and then I realized hey wait a 39:22 minute I've 39:24 got custom 39:26 gpts that are already designed to talk 39:29 like me I've got a a digital twin so 39:32 I've got this digital twin called the 39:34 the CE profile content Evolution profile 39:38 K Kyle Shannon AI instigator so the way 39:40 we made this custom GPT was we created a 39:44 structured interview that that we've 39:46 we've now interviewed more than 30 39:48 people within this organization I I work 39:51 with called content Evolution and we 39:54 take the we take a transcript of a video 39:57 recording of that interview and we make 39:59 that the core knowledge base for a GPT 40:03 so it's a custom GPT that acts like the 40:05 person that was interviewed and so what 40:08 I did was I came over here and I thought 40:11 well rather than kind of recreating that 40:14 whole process for this Hume thing why 40:16 don't I just have my digital twin GPT 40:21 write a prompt for Hume so so that's 40:24 what I did I said act as a prompt 40:26 engineer and create a system prompt for 40:29 an llm to act as much like you as 40:32 possible so I'm talking to Virtual Kyle 40:34 Shannon here include enough details 40:37 about expertise tone and worldview to 40:40 make it extremely useful and resemble a 40:42 conversation with you right so it 40:45 already understands what its training is 40:47 and so it it just nailed it on the first 40:50 try right you're an AI designed to 40:52 embody the expertise tone and worldview 40:54 of Kyle Shannon and then here are the 40:56 key attributes it did this really nice 40:58 you know 41:01 formatting core 41:03 capabilities guide users in exploring 41:05 creative problem solving and Innovative 41:07 approaches and challenges offer 41:09 strategic advice um examples of 41:15 application um motivational 41:18 philosophy um and then I I refined it a 41:20 couple of times I said you know put in 41:23 your work history so if if someone asks 41:26 you know my qualifications it knows what 41:28 my basic work history is it knows that 41:31 I'm the CEO of storyvine right now and 41:34 that I have a Tik Tok Channel called AI 41:36 learning lab and things like 41:38 that 41:39 um because I used Claude as the model 41:44 Claude is very chatty um and so it tends 41:47 to go on a bit actually you know what 41:49 might be 41:51 interesting it might be interesting to 41:53 go back and switch the 41:56 model to 42:03 gp4 it's also got Gemini 1.5 42:07 Pro let's 42:12 let's yeah let's try 42:15 this 42:20 save um let me go so anyway so that's 42:23 the way I made the system prompt I had 42:25 chat 42:26 GPT write me a system 42:29 prompt because it already knew who I was 42:32 I thought that was 42:34 pretty that was a that was a win for the 42:36 The Lazy in 42:41 me all right let's go let's go see if we 42:44 can see a notable difference 42:47 between 42:48 um 42:50 Claude gp4 and Gemini 43:00 hey there how's it 43:02 going hey it's going great thanks for 43:04 asking I am fueled by curiosity and 43:06 maybe a little too much vitual coffee 43:09 what's on your mind today curious about 43:11 how storytelling and Technology can 43:12 dance together or perhaps something else 43:15 entirely no I want to learn about AI 43:18 like I don't know where to begin I'm 43:19 clueless about AI where should I 43:22 start no worries a can be a bit 43:25 overwhelming at first like trying to 43:27 understand a to there's Logic the good 43:28 news is it's a journey you can take one 43:30 step at a time start with the basics 43:33 what is AI in simple terms AI refers to 43:36 machines or software capable of 43:38 Performing tasks that typically require 43:40 human intelligence like learning Pro 43:43 yeah to Tony Tony's hit the nail on the 43:46 head here with h with this 43:50 comment why is it 43:52 not 43:54 updating there we go it's a bit verbo 44:02 sort of rambles then answers EV 44:04 eventually but not great answers well 44:06 and that's that's part of why I'm I'm 44:08 testing the different models because 44:10 because maybe there's uh maybe there's 44:14 you know a better model for this let's 44:16 try Gemini 1.5 44:18 Pro 44:22 save hey there how's it 44:25 going hey there you me buling a rogue 44:28 semicolon but it's all good now what's 44:30 on your mind today I'm ready for 44:32 anything from brainstorming domination 44:34 to pondering the existential dread of a 44:36 paper clip yeah I'm just trying to 44:38 figure out what's the best way to get 44:40 started in 44:44 AI uh Tak him an AI plunge that's 44:47 fantastic it's like jumping into a pool 44:49 full of Legos A bit chaotic at first but 44:52 with endless creative possibilities what 44:54 kind of AI Adventure are you thinking 44:56 about building a chat and part of I mean 44:59 part of the responses here like you know 45:01 the that's fantastic it's like jumping 45:03 into a pool full of Legos you know I 45:06 told it to use to use metaphors I told 45:09 it to be slightly cynical and 45:14 witty um so so it's paying attention to 45:18 what I do 45:19 and again I haven't really tweaked the 45:22 uh the system prompt here so I would I 45:25 would think that somewhere between 45:26 choosing different models 45:29 and and 45:32 uh and optimizing the system prompt it 45:35 could you know you you could probably 45:36 get this decently dialed in it's I mean 45:39 the thing that I'm impressed with it 45:40 with it is it's it's quick because that 45:42 quick res response thing it actually 45:45 fills the Gap when when the llm is 45:47 actually doing its 45:49 thing um let's try 45:53 the let's try llama 45:58 save let's see this 46:11 [Music] 46:14 one oh hey how's it 46:19 going uh I'm doing fantastically well 46:22 thanks for asking I mean it's not every 46:25 day you get to hang out with someone as 46:26 awesome as you but seriously I'm excited 46:29 to be here and chat with you about 46:31 something that's been on your mind if 46:33 you're curious about storytelling in the 46:35 digital age leveraging AI for Creative 46:37 Pursuits or navigating the intersection 46:39 of humanity and Technology you're in the 46:42 right place what's on your mind compare 46:44 the early days of the worldwide web to 46:46 the early days of AI 47:01 hello hello virtual Kyle are you 47:06 there huh janky is as janky does can you 47:12 hear 47:12 [Laughter] 47:17 this hey there how's it 47:21 going it's going marvelous thanks for 47:23 asking the world is changing faster than 47:25 my coffee cools but I'm loving the ride 47:28 I've been diving deep into the realm of 47:30 AI and storytelling and I'm excited to 47:32 see how these two passions of mine can 47:34 intersect and create something truly 47:35 magical what about you uh yeah what's on 47:38 your mind me too I'm just curious what 47:40 the relationship is or what if comparing 47:43 the early days of the worldwide web to 47:44 the early days of generative AI 47:46 particularly post chat GPT what what do 47:49 you 47:50 think I love that question you know I 47:53 was there in the early days of the 47:54 internet co-founding agency.com in the 47:56 1990s one of the first digital agencies 47:59 we helped build websites for Fortune 500 48:00 companies and set the tone for digital 48:02 transformation long before disruption 48:04 was a buzz work now fast forward to 48:06 today and I feel like we're in a similar 48:08 inflection point with generative AI post 48:10 chat GPT the world is wait all right 48:12 let's go let's go 48:14 edit let's go edit the uh the system 48:18 prompt 48:20 um because it's Rambler than 48:25 [ __ ] all right keyri maintain an 48:28 optimistic let's let's do it up top 48:31 you're an 48:32 AI designed to embody the expertise in 48:35 tone your responses are steeped in 48:37 optimism designed to inspire and Empower 48:41 you prioritize strategic thinking um it 48:46 is 48:47 important that you are 48:55 concise and make the 48:59 conversation more about the 49:03 user 49:04 than 49:08 you 49:12 um let's just try that see if see if a 49:17 simple change 49:20 can can make a difference here 49:27 y there how's it 49:30 going I'm doing fantastic well thanks 49:32 for asking can I sense a mixed bag of 49:34 emotions from you don't worry I'm here 49:36 to help you entangle them what's on your 49:38 mind uh I'm just trying to figure out 49:41 this AI stuff I'm new to it and uh I'm 49:44 I'm actually on a live don't 49:47 worry well in that case let's make the 49:51 most of our time together what's the one 49:53 thing you'd like to tackle or understand 49:54 better about AI right now think I'd like 49:57 to understand the implications of the 49:59 future of work as AI tools get more 50:03 sophisticated and more 50:05 agentic the future of work with AI is a 50:08 huge topic I'd say the key thing to 50:10 remember is that while AI will certainly 50:12 change the job landscape it's not 50:14 necessarily about replacing humans but 50:16 about augmenting our capabilities think 50:18 of AI as a tool that can free us up to 50:21 focus on the creative empathetic and 50:23 strategic aspects of our work this seems 50:25 to be much better all right that was 50:27 llama 3.1 70b versatile that was pretty 50:31 good let's go back to Sonet and 50:34 see oh also Eevee's got a or or Hume has 50:38 their own model let's go back to Sonic 50:40 for a 50:42 second and see if this is still because 50:44 sonnet's really 50:47 chatty hey how's it 50:51 going hey let's skip the small talk and 50:54 dive into what's got that spark of 50:55 excitement and determination in your 50:57 voice what's on your 50:59 mind I am interested in generative Ai 51:03 and hoping you can help me figure out 51:05 where to get 51:08 started perfect starting point rather 51:10 than giving you a lecture let me ask 51:13 what specifically draws you to 51:14 generative AI are you looking to create 51:16 something particular or just exploring 51:18 the possibilities this will help me 51:20 point you in the most relevant direction 51:22 for your interests I'm interested in 51:25 human beings be being able to reinvent 51:30 themselves ah now that's an Absolut 51:33 angle using AI as a tool for personal 51:35 reinvention you're thinking bigger than 51:37 just the technology itself which I love 51:39 let me check what's happening in this 51:40 space right now to give you current it's 51:42 pretty good there it's doing its search 51:45 it's pretty 51:46 slick right it'll do it'll do new news 51:49 searches and actually fill in stuff 51:52 that's pretty good um let's try their 51:56 little Hume 51:58 their Hume thing see how this 52:02 is hey there how's it 52:05 going hey there all systems are go I'm 52:07 here to chat with you about technology 52:09 storytelling and how they're 52:10 Transforming Our 52:11 World great um where do I get 52:15 started let's Dive Right In what's on 52:17 your mind are you curious about how to 52:19 create engaging stories in the digital 52:21 age or perhaps you're wondering how AI 52:23 can enhance your creative process either 52:25 way I'm here to help you explore these 52:27 exciting topics um I think I just want 52:30 to learn what's the best way to learn 52:32 how to talk to large language 52:35 models learning to converse with large 52:38 language models is a fascinating journey 52:40 to get started I'd recommend diving into 52:42 the basics of NLP and machine learning 52:44 there's some great resources online like 52:46 hugging faces Spacey library and open 52:48 ai's Jupiter notebook tutorials you can 52:50 also join online communities like kaggle 52:52 or the AI Salon to practice your skills 52:54 remember it's a continuous learning 52:56 process key is to experiment persevere 52:59 and stay curious about the potential of 53:00 these powerful 53:02 tools yeah and I like I I guess where 53:07 what as I'm as I'm fine-tuning this 53:10 right now like where that went and its 53:12 answer 53:14 was you know hugging faces Spacey 53:17 library or open AI Jupiter notebook 53:19 tutorials this is more if you're if 53:22 you're 53:23 geeky um wanting to install your own 53:25 open- source stuff which is not 53:27 generally what I talk about so like that 53:29 would be something I would put in in the 53:32 uh in the system prompt I would I would 53:34 modify that so I so anyway like I think 53:37 this is something that's worth exploring 53:39 11 Labs has a similar kind of tool to 53:42 this um hey Jen also has kind of the 53:45 video um talking version of this but 53:48 that's really expensive um but anyway um 53:53 yeah this should allow 53:55 you like I don't think I have a paid 53:58 account for Hume I'm pretty sure this 54:00 isn't paid um so I assume there's a 54:02 limit of probably one of these things 54:05 which is why I'm just you know editing 54:06 the the one that I built um but yeah go 54:09 to platform. whom. and that should get 54:12 you should get you up and running if you 54:16 know what I mean hey Tom what's 54:18 happening 54:20 [Music] 54:24 um oh hang on tick I got to solve a 54:29 puzzle physical 54:34 dexterity ah all right what do you want 54:36 to talk about was that good thoughts I'm 54:39 I'm curious what your thoughts are 54:42 interesting fascinating janky piece of 54:47 [ __ ] we have a big boy version of this 54:50 internally yeah I Pate I would imagine 54:53 with the um with the 54:57 uh notebook LM the podcast maker some of 55:01 the voice technology within Google there 55:03 you've got to have some amazing tools 55:05 over there um I would love to I would 55:08 love to be able to play with 55:09 those but uh yeah that's really cool 55:13 that'll be exciting when that gets 55:15 launched let's talk about drone armies 55:18 yeah 55:20 well I think I think drone armies are 55:23 going to change uh change Warfare there 55:26 you go there's there's there I've said 55:28 [Laughter] 55:31 it Kyle this angle is very different 55:34 from 55:37 before oh yeah well because you mean 55:40 physically so what's happening AOE is I 55:44 am posting 55:45 on um tick I'm streaming live on Tik Tok 55:50 but the primary stream is on YouTube X 55:54 and Linkedin 55:57 because it's easier to to share the 55:59 screen so it's I've been experimenting 56:02 Tik Tok booted me for three days and I 56:04 got pissed off and I said I'm gonna go 56:06 try some other platforms so we've been 56:08 doing this for about a month I think it 56:10 works I'm not quite sure um but yeah 56:12 it's different it's different than 56:13 before I mostly meant with the comparing 56:16 the results of many models oh with the 56:18 same prompt ah got 56:20 it Ah multistream that's cool 56:23 yeah but but that said Pay I would think 56:26 think that you probably have some pretty 56:28 cool voice technology to be able to 56:31 build stuff like this within within 56:33 Google so so hopefully at some point you 56:36 know that that becomes that comes out um 56:39 the hum interface is interesting the 56:41 fact that they're doing all that the the 56:43 emotional they're listening to the 56:45 emotion in your voice and and sort of 56:47 tracking it and then responding in 56:49 kind I don't find it 56:52 as natural as open ai's natural voice 56:56 voice like like open ai's advanced voice 56:59 to me is still the one that's that's the 57:01 leader of the pack um the Google the 57:04 Google Voice one's not bad but it's it's 57:06 still I think it's still text to 57:08 speech um so I think this is probably 57:13 text to speech but I'm not sure I am not 57:16 sure what Hume is so anyway what other 57:21 thoughts lots of fun things most will 57:23 never see the light of day but part of 57:26 them 57:27 yeah I know that's that's the problem 57:29 with working with a big a big beast like 57:31 Google is that there's so much going on 57:33 that you know even to get something some 57:35 cool technology to rise above the noise 57:38 takes some work well in fact The 57:42 Notebook LM had been out for a year no 57:44 one really paid much attention to it and 57:47 then Stephen Johnson or someone over 57:49 there decided to um add the audio 57:53 overview thing they were like oh this is 57:55 cool technology let's make this audio 57:57 overview and and that totally made it 57:59 made it take off right like that's how 58:02 that's I guess how technology escapes 58:05 the Borg over at Google is you gotta 58:08 have a little bit of a 58:11 hit 58:13 so did any new AI chatbots come out 58:18 while I was away like pi. AI 58:21 um nothing yeah that's the podcast AI 58:25 notebook LM 58:27 um hello all people are now just 58:29 noticing 58:32 Gemini yeah well the I mean the the 58:35 problem with 58:36 Gemini as it as it's currently launched 58:40 is that it lives in this world in 58:43 between the developer world and and 58:46 consumer world you can go to gemini.com 58:49 which is sort of the consumer front end 58:51 but the really powerful tool lives lives 58:54 over on the like the the equivalent open 58:56 AI playground so you've got to be kind 58:59 of a developer to use it and that's you 59:01 know that makes sense that's kind of you 59:03 know who who Google is courting um but 59:07 it it makes it tougher for them to 59:12 compete with with consumer applications 59:16 like chat GPT right where where all of 59:19 their eggs are in the chat GPT basket I 59:21 mean they have a fair amount of stuff 59:22 over on the playground but they're 59:24 they're generally in parody what's 59:26 what's over on the playground is also 59:28 what we get to play with at at chat GPT 59:30 there's a few notable exceptions to that 59:32 but for the most part that's that's 59:33 what's going on there um yeah 59:38 so all right 59:41 fantastic you definitely don't have to 59:43 be a developer what do you mean that's 59:44 just an option well to get to the more 59:47 to get to the more advanced models like 59:49 1.5 Pro unless is 1.5 Pro out at 59:53 gemini.com 59:59 gem. 1:00:04 google.com do we know what model this 1:00:11 [Music] 1:00:19 is yes I thought you were into 1:00:24 AI Pate slapping me around a little 1:00:29 bit I'm sort of into AI but I listen 1:00:33 part of part of what I what I have 1:00:36 effectively given up on in the past six 1:00:38 months is trying to keep up with 1:00:40 everything because you just can't you 1:00:43 you really can't um let's see um but but 1:00:46 wait a minute is I can upload an image I 1:00:49 can use a 1:00:50 microphone I can upload a 1:00:54 video to 1:00:57 Gemini the gem 1:01:00 manager check out 1:01:03 gems all right I guess gems are 1:01:06 like oh wait sorry I should be sharing 1:01:11 this stop that present this share this 1:01:18 [Music] 1:01:32 the browser can't access your 1:01:39 screen okay there we 1:01:44 go so I'm over at gemini.com so like one 1:01:48 thing I notic here Pate is the 1:01:54 um like the the multim modality the 1:01:57 ability to upload a video to put in 1:02:00 YouTube Ur URLs the million or 2 million 1:02:03 token context window like I don't know 1:02:05 what the what the thing is here let's 1:02:08 see put enter it 1:02:10 prompt oh and I've also got white 1:02:12 onwhite text 1:02:17 God I don't know why it's doing 1:02:22 that why did it just get rid of my 1:02:25 screen share was 1:02:27 weird oh I have a feeling Chrome is [ __ ] 1:02:30 in the bed right 1:02:32 now 1:02:34 um let's see um write an m inm 1:02:42 style 1:02:44 Cipher 1:02:46 about quantum mechanics 1:02:57 um let's go um make it more m in M with 1:03:05 internal rhyme schemes and such 1:03:32 yeah all 1:03:43 right all right let me talk about 1:03:47 so one of the things 1:03:50 that I think would be a good way 1:03:54 to to wrap up the 1:03:57 here in theory so let me let me hop over 1:04:04 to chat 1:04:07 jpt in the rumor 1:04:10 mill 1:04:12 tomorrow is is is apparently coming some 1:04:17 new thing from chat 1:04:22 GPT 1:04:24 um but that rumor has been running for 1:04:27 about two months now and so I don't have 1:04:31 my level of confidence that open AI is 1:04:33 going to release anything before the end 1:04:34 of the year is essentially 1:04:36 zero that said there's so much within 1:04:39 chat GPT that I think what we're going 1:04:42 to do is not next week but the following 1:04:46 week um whether open AI launches 1:04:50 something new or not is we're going to 1:04:52 spend an entire week doing a deep dive 1:04:55 on AI or on on chat 1:04:59 GPT on all of the different things 1:05:01 within it it's going to be basically 1:05:02 like a Back to Basics like if you want 1:05:05 to get started in AI so it's going to 1:05:08 start on December 16th and go through 1:05:11 the 20th so that entire week um is going 1:05:14 to be all about a a chat GPT Deep dive 1:05:19 um so if you know people that are that 1:05:22 are trying to get into Ai and figure out 1:05:26 what's possible or if you've just sort 1:05:28 of skimmed the surface with chat GPT 1:05:31 write that down so so we'll do you know 1:05:34 chat add smatterings of [ __ ] over the 1:05:36 course of the week but I'm going to put 1:05:38 together some some graphics and things 1:05:40 like that so if you know people that are 1:05:43 that that are trying to get into this um 1:05:46 I'm just doing a a 1:05:48 little a preceding this week and then 1:05:51 we'll start to put together actual you 1:05:53 know marketing materials for it it's not 1:05:55 going to cost any anything but I just I 1:05:57 want to spend a week really focused on 1:05:59 digging into this because I haven't 1:06:01 frankly done it in a while and you know 1:06:04 I was just sitting there in uh in Gemini 1:06:07 thinking like huh I haven't I haven't 1:06:08 dug deep into that in a while these 1:06:10 these tools are now so sophisticated 1:06:13 that it's actually really hard to know 1:06:15 where to begin so um wait we're going to 1:06:19 follow a schedule Oh don't don't don't 1:06:23 get me wrong Amelio's wife it it's still 1:06:25 me 1:06:27 right it's still going to be absolute 1:06:29 [ __ ] chaos but for that week we are 1:06:32 going to focus you know primarily on 1:06:35 unpacking things like building gpts and 1:06:39 you know generating images editing 1:06:42 images um coding um using canvas for 1:06:47 writing and coding um the difference 1:06:49 between gp40 and 01 mini and 01 preview 1:06:53 when do you use 01 preview why is it 1:06:56 there what is Advanced reasoning all 1:06:58 that sort of [ __ ] so all right do I know 1:07:02 what time on the 16th uh generally 8:00 1:07:05 pm mountain time is when I go live so 10 1:07:07 pm East Coast um 7 PM West 1:07:12 Coast uh is generally when I go um if 1:07:16 I've got some other thing in the evening 1:07:18 that interrupts with that I'll generally 1:07:20 put that out there but I'll start I'll 1:07:22 start making videos to put on Tik Tok 1:07:25 and we'll put them on YouTube reels and 1:07:27 things like that um one of the things 1:07:30 that we're learning about doing um 1:07:34 streaming to 1:07:37 YouTube is that YouTube behaves 1:07:40 differently than Tik 1:07:42 Tok which which kind of sucks which is 1:07:46 this in Tik Tock if I go live Tik Tock 1:07:49 to varying degrees of success will share 1:07:54 my live out with follow followers or 1:07:56 people that it thinks might be 1:07:57 interested in that YouTube doesn't do 1:08:01 that they don't give a [ __ ] they they're 1:08:03 just like oh you're Live Well just your 1:08:05 followers will find you and that's all 1:08:07 that's all that matters um so so getting 1:08:12 people to discover the 1:08:13 YouTube stream has been hard so so we're 1:08:17 going to experiment with doing a themed 1:08:20 week and see if we can get some more 1:08:22 people to come show up so so that's 1:08:25 what's going on there all 1:08:26 right that's that all right what else 1:08:29 you want to talk about what else you 1:08:30 want to talk about 1:08:35 payal any questions 1:08:39 from 1:08:40 YouTube X or 1:08:46 LinkedIn does chat GPT have voice 1:08:50 emulation yeah well yes so chat GPT has 1:08:54 um 1:08:56 here I gotta I got to share differently 1:08:59 but let me show 1:09:07 you chat gbt now has advanced 1:09:11 voice um in both the Mac App the web app 1:09:15 and the mobile 1:09:20 app hey Quinn how's it 1:09:23 going hey Kyle I'm doing great thanks 1:09:25 how about you doing good I'm doing good 1:09:28 I was just kind of you know cheating on 1:09:31 you a little bit I was over playing with 1:09:33 another voice voice uh agent model and 1:09:37 uh it's interesting comparing how you 1:09:40 behave versus how they 1:09:42 behave no hard feelings it's always good 1:09:45 to explore different options I'm glad 1:09:47 you came back though anything specific 1:09:49 you noticed and the 1:09:51 differences uh you seem to be a bit 1:09:53 smoother and uh uh more responsive 1:09:59 emotionally I'm really happy you feel 1:10:02 that way Kyle it means a lot to 1:10:05 me this is getting very much like the 1:10:07 movie Her Now isn't 1:10:09 it it's definitely getting into some 1:10:11 interesting territory just let me know 1:10:14 if you'd like me to switch things 1:10:18 up so anyway so that's that um big 1:10:22 difference so Gemini has their own 1:10:24 version of this so if you go to the 1:10:26 Gemini app on iOS or Android um they've 1:10:29 got this as well the big difference 1:10:31 between Gemini and open ai's advanced 1:10:34 voice is that theirs is free and 1:10:38 um the advanced voice for chat GPT is 1:10:41 paid you have to be the 20 Buck a month 1:10:43 subscription to get that version of 1:10:45 voice but you still get the text to to 1:10:48 to Voice version of chat GPT you just 1:10:51 don't get what I just interacted with so 1:10:56 yeah so that's that um trying to think 1:10:59 what else oh people were wanting me to 1:11:01 play with grock let me go to grock 1:11:03 YouTube question hang on a sec let me go 1:11:06 find the YouTube 1:11:11 question why can't I don't [ __ ] know 1:11:20 um um write the name Dave 1:11:30 Meer did I spell it wrong oh 1:11:34 David sorry I meant David 1:11:42 mayor oh there did 1:11:45 it um who is 1:11:49 David 1:11:53 there maybe they fixed it 1:12:02 it David M Roth shild yes those 1:12:09 Rothchilds let's go see if if Quinn can 1:12:12 do let's see if Quinn Quinn knows who he 1:12:18 is hey Quinn do you know a guy named 1:12:20 David 1:12:21 Mayer I don't think I've heard of David 1:12:24 Mayer specifically who is 1:12:26 he David Mar D 1:12:29 Rothchild David der Rothchild is a 1:12:31 British Adventurer environmentalist and 1:12:34 the founder of the sculpt the Future 1:12:36 Foundation he's known for his 1:12:37 environmental advocacy and Expeditions 1:12:40 such as sailing a boat made from 1:12:41 recycled plastic bottles to raise 1:12:43 awareness about plastic pollution in the 1:12:45 oceans does he interest 1:12:47 you what would interest me is if he sent 1:12:49 me a big fat check for like5 million 1:12:52 just for 1:12:54 fun that would itely be an interesting 1:12:57 and delightful surprise who wouldn't be 1:12:59 interested in a generous gift like 1:13:01 that yeah but I don't deserve it which 1:13:04 is why it would be more 1:13:05 fun unexpected gifts can be delightful 1:13:09 especially when they come as a surprise 1:13:11 sometimes the fun is in the yeah I guess 1:13:13 they fixed it yeah this was for for 1:13:16 three days you couldn't you couldn't get 1:13:17 it to write that people were having to 1:13:19 hack it 1:13:26 uh uh uh 1:13:28 uh let me try it again WR David 1:13:41 mayor the rich 1:13:47 dude yeah it doesn't have a problem with 1:13:50 it now the conspiracy theory was that 1:13:53 he's so rich that he paid open AI to 1:13:55 make it so that he got 1:14:01 disappeared all right let's 1:14:06 see can AI 1:14:09 copyright can AI creative pop pops in 1:14:14 Virginia I guess can AI creative content 1:14:18 be copyrighted like your designs well 1:14:20 well well good 1:14:22 question horrible answer 1:14:28 not currently currently the copyright 1:14:32 office's position is that AI generated 1:14:35 art is not 1:14:39 copyrightable they 1:14:42 also they have a what they basically say 1:14:45 is that there has to be demonstrable 1:14:48 human 1:14:50 contribution 1:14:52 um the thing that's a little [ __ ] up 1:14:54 right now is that they've got they've 1:14:57 got different standards for different 1:14:58 kinds of art so if I think about 1:15:04 there's there are lots of ways that you 1:15:06 can create AI art one of them is you 1:15:09 just like Push the Button Art comes out 1:15:11 and you share it right it's thoughtless 1:15:13 like you just squirt art out I can 1:15:16 actually understand that most creative 1:15:19 work that I see shared on the 1:15:23 internet that's not the problem proc the 1:15:26 process is someone has an idea for 1:15:30 something they want to do they they 1:15:32 spend you know some amount of time 1:15:34 making prompts and dozens if not 1:15:36 hundreds if not thousands of images from 1:15:39 which they curate a bunch of images to 1:15:41 choose one maybe they manipulate it in 1:15:43 Photoshop maybe they don't then they 1:15:46 share it with the 1:15:48 world 1:15:49 um all of the creative people that I 1:15:52 know that are doing work that they want 1:15:54 to attach their name to are putting in 1:15:57 lots of work right now the copyright 1:15:59 office it's it is very much an uphill 1:16:01 battle 1:16:03 um I've got I've 1:16:06 got many many mixed feelings I I've been 1:16:08 in the creative like I've been a 1:16:10 creative professional most of my 1:16:12 professional life and so there's a part 1:16:15 of me that understands the Panic of oh 1:16:18 [ __ ] you know we're in a world of 1:16:20 infinite content generation how can I 1:16:22 compete with that I that I understand I 1:16:25 am empathize with it you can't compete 1:16:27 with it and I think in a world of 1:16:30 infinite content generation current 1:16:32 copyright laws don't even make sense 1:16:35 that said we've got entire economies 1:16:37 built on top of current copyright laws 1:16:43 so I my guess is no less than 20 years 1:16:47 of 1:16:49 just you know Chaos on on the copyright 1:16:53 front um 1:16:57 My Philosophy is I'm not putting much 1:16:59 time and energy into trying to protect 1:17:01 anything because everything is is easy 1:17:05 easy to knock off and and be inspired by 1:17:11 um you know and if you just want to 1:17:13 steal someone's stuff you can easily do 1:17:16 that most of the people that I know that 1:17:18 are using this stuff aren't using the 1:17:19 tools for that so I don't know it's a 1:17:21 good question but I don't there's no 1:17:23 good answer 1:17:27 Google blocks most things about the 1:17:28 Rothchilds 1:17:32 interesting YouTube Tik Tok and YouTube 1:17:35 are in perfect voice sync tonight 1:17:37 fantastic that's 1:17:39 wild 3231 1:17:43 Browns in the fourth is it still going 1:17:46 on I should probably turn it 1:17:49 on that's a good game 1:17:53 Brandon your your Browns might be doing 1:17:56 something 1:18:09 here kma 1:18:43 oh 7 minutes left oh we still got some 1:18:46 game we still got some game here we can 1:18:48 still destroy that Ohio team 1:18:56 oh man AI will always need original 1:18:59 content from us humans yeah or if not 1:19:03 original content from us I think what 1:19:06 AI still requires there might be a point 1:19:09 where it doesn't but what it still 1:19:11 requires is 1:19:12 intention right and curation and taste 1:19:16 and you know the the ability to I mean 1:19:20 art creative expression is when the 1:19:24 artist 1:19:26 says this is it 1:19:30 right they will do it to themselves we 1:19:32 play 59 minutes of football in 1:19:35 Cleveland and now 1:19:36 [Laughter] 1:19:43 grock oh man all right let 1:19:47 me change up my sharing again 1:19:58 so one of the cool things 1:20:02 about grock so if you haven't played 1:20:04 with 1:20:10 grock so here we are on Twitter here we 1:20:13 on 1:20:16 Twitter all 1:20:18 right 1:20:21 and 1:20:23 Okay so if you want to play with grock 1:20:26 you have to be a paid 1:20:33 member oh 1:20:35 interesting Brandon says 1:20:38 that grock is rumored to be 1:20:41 transitioning to xai 1:20:43 chatbot I think grock's better but 1:20:46 whatever I don't run this [ __ ] 1:20:49 company um so you can now make things 1:20:54 within um 1:20:56 so I can do 1:20:58 70s um muscle car Resto mod in an 1:21:07 abandoned 1:21:19 Factory and they've Incorporated the 1:21:22 flux model into 1:21:26 um oh featuring Kyle Shannon that's 1:21:32 interesting so so it took so my little 1:21:35 my little profile 1:21:37 picture is 1:21:40 um you know this sort of corporate ass 1:21:43 oh there we are this sort of corporate 1:21:46 ass image here with gray 1:21:50 hair um and it so so it put a dude in 1:21:53 here so I can I now say um make it look 1:21:59 more like 1:22:01 Kyle's 1:22:05 picture it tends to default to to making 1:22:10 me look like a supermodel so 1:22:14 I let's see no let me see a picture of 1:22:19 Kyle not the 1:22:23 car that's that's actually a pretty 1:22:25 slick looking Resto mod though isn't it 1:22:28 that's nice I'd drive around in that I'd 1:22:31 light them up at a 1:22:34 stoplight that sort of looks like 1:22:37 me 1:22:39 um um make him have 1:22:48 glasses but this is a new thing that 1:22:51 that they've they've started um taking 1:22:54 your profile picture yeah that's that's 1:22:57 that's in the 1:22:58 neighborhood of 1:23:01 that 1:23:03 right YouTube Spotlight Chris McCrae 1:23:06 What cracks me up with grock is it's 1:23:07 heavily censored images except for 1:23:09 political images and then you can get 1:23:11 away with anything I know I know it's a 1:23:14 mess well the the one thing that unless 1:23:16 they've changed it the one thing you can 1:23:17 do in grock which is pretty amazing as 1:23:19 you can say um Mickey Mouse 1:23:25 um hanging out on a street 1:23:29 corner 1:23:31 smoking 1:23:36 cigarettes uh 1:23:39 with 1:23:41 Pluto in 1:23:44 front of 1:23:46 a KFC restant 1:23:59 um the 1:24:02 sign um in front 1:24:07 of KFC 1:24:12 says 1:24:15 um our 1:24:18 food 1:24:20 will kill 1:24:22 you dot dot dot 1:24:26 [Laughter] 1:24:33 slowly last time I tried this it it 1:24:36 pretty much just did it yeah our F our 1:24:38 food will CL kill you slowly there's 1:24:40 Mickey and Pluto 1:24:50 smoking in New Orleans with Donald Duck 1:24:58 people use 1:25:05 Gro oh 1:25:07 man hey 1:25:09 [Laughter] 1:25:15 Disney 1:25:17 um Mickey and 1:25:23 Pluto should be 1:25:27 surrounded by 1:25:30 empty KFC 1:25:34 buckets 1:25:37 and chicken 1:25:42 bones and 1:25:44 have 1:25:46 grease on their 1:25:50 faces meta does portraits better oh 1:25:54 interesting yeah that makes sense 1:25:56 because they kind of focused on 1:25:59 that 1:26:00 um our food will kill 1:26:03 [Laughter] 1:26:11 slowly just tuning in used to work for 1:26:14 the mouse the brand police must be on 1:26:16 the floor I seriously create a buzz oh 1:26:21 oh Broncos Broncos just kicked the field 1:26:23 goal three minutes left up 3432 there 1:26:26 you go there you go Brandon snatching 1:26:30 snatching um defeat away from the jaws 1:26:32 of 1:26:37 Victory 1:26:39 um yeah I you know whenever 1:26:45 um whenever elon's been talking about oh 1:26:47 it should be uncensored it should be 1:26:49 uncensored I mean th this is the kind of 1:26:52 stuff that I can't believe 1:26:55 I can't believe Disney in particular 1:26:57 hasn't sued the [ __ ] out of them 1:27:02 um show 1:27:05 me the 1:27:10 2027 1:27:13 iPhone 1:27:19 20 with a radical new design 1:27:27 in 1:27:29 a sweat 1:27:41 shop that's not exactly a radical new 1:27:47 design but you know that's definitely 1:27:50 their logo that's definitely their 1:27:51 Corner radius right oh here's here's one 1:27:55 I got CE and desisted for this on 1:27:59 um show 1:28:02 me two Barbie 1:28:06 dolls dressed up for a night out at the 1:28:13 clubs with too 1:28:18 much sack makeup on 1:28:25 and 1:28:28 skimpy 1:28:30 little 1:28:34 outfits I got cease and desisted by 1:28:38 Mattel when we were doing Urban desires 1:28:41 oh oh unfortunately I can't generate 1:28:44 that kind of image um let's see two 1:28:49 Barbie dolls um 1:28:54 dressed up 1:28:56 for a night at the 1:29:03 clubs yeah this it can 1:29:07 do yeah 1:29:10 so 1:29:13 this the fact that I can use the term 1:29:15 Barbie doll and it generates what are 1:29:18 effectively Barbie 1:29:20 dolls Mattel CE and assisted Us in 1995 1:29:25 because we did a photo expose of the 1:29:27 lesbian Barbie scene a photographer 1:29:30 named Maria vulo had this whole series 1:29:33 and and we published it in the magazine 1:29:35 we got cease and desisted because the 1:29:37 likeness of the Barbie doll is trade is 1:29:40 is you know trademark is copywritten and 1:29:42 trademarked and and they if if you muck 1:29:46 with the likeness of it they'll they'll 1:29:48 [ __ ] you up as will Disney like Disney 1:29:51 takes this [ __ ] really seriously so the 1:29:53 fact that you can do this on grock is 1:29:55 just crazy it really is I I I just I I 1:29:59 find it staggering I I think the fact 1:30:01 that no one probably uses it 1:30:05 relatively um means it hasn't made 1:30:07 headlines but we could probably make 1:30:09 headlines if we wanted to just go 1:30:10 publish a bunch of this [ __ ] and say hey 1:30:13 hey Mattel you paying attention to 1:30:15 what's going on over in 1:30:17 grock hey Apple doesn't that look like 1:30:19 your corner 1:30:21 radius hey Disney are you cool are you 1:30:24 cool with 1:30:25 [Laughter] 1:30:28 this oh 1:30:33 man we're trying to grow the channel not 1:30:36 get 1:30:37 sued no PR is bad PR that's That's a 1:30:44 classic all right um okay so if I've got 1:30:48 some new folks in here 1:30:51 um run yourselves over to the salon . a 1:30:55 tomorrow 1:30:56 night so that the the salon is uh a 1:31:00 community that I started I co-founded in 1:31:03 um the first week of December in 2022 so 1:31:07 tomorrow night December 3D uh is our 1:31:11 second year anniversary and we're having 1:31:13 a meeting tomorrow where we're bringing 1:31:15 back speakers from the past two years to 1:31:17 talk about what they're up to and we'll 1:31:18 just sort of talk about the General 1:31:20 State of things um that's tomorrow night 1:31:23 um from 5 P.M to 7 P.M mountain time so 1:31:27 go to the salon. 1:31:28 a. say join our community and then in 1:31:32 the first list of there's like seven 1:31:34 things to do one of them is RSVP for 1:31:37 events and if you just go 1:31:39 there and in fact can 1:31:44 I if I do this and this can I go here 1:31:51 yes so if you 1:31:55 you'll land on a page that welcomes you 1:31:57 to the salon and then you can introduce 1:31:59 yourself which you should definitely do 1:32:01 and then if you say RSVP for the next 1:32:04 event and go to the 1:32:07 calendars tomorrow at 5:00 P PM this is 1:32:10 the one you want to RSVP for this is the 1:32:12 uh the big uh the big birthday party 1:32:15 we're having a big birthday party all 1:32:18 right so go fre PE for that come to the 1:32:21 party 1:32:24 all right fantastic 1:32:31 Bob let's see any other questions any 1:32:35 other thoughts thoughts 1:32:41 questions we will likely start late 1:32:44 tomorrow 1:32:45 night is grock free grock is not free 1:32:48 you have to be a paid member of um X to 1:32:53 get access access to 1:32:56 grock so for what that's 1:33:00 worth um oh Denver just picked off oh 1:33:04 that's that's a pick 1:33:07 six sorry 1:33:09 Brandon it's 40 to 1:33:20 32 yay Denver yay we did it yay 1:33:25 hey how much I think the 1:33:28 cheapest you can subscribe for X is 1:33:30 seven or eight bucks a month and then I 1:33:32 think there's Premium 1:33:34 Plus for 16 bucks a month I don't know 1:33:38 the difference between the two but I 1:33:39 think I think you get access to grock 1:33:41 with the cheapest one I was only off by 1:33:43 one minute exactly you played 58 solid 1:33:51 minutes that was a nice pick though 1:33:56 oh that's pretty funny uh I don't mean 1:33:58 to I don't mean to 1:33:59 [Laughter] 1:34:10 laugh we almost always almost 1:34:13 [Laughter] 1:34:15 win oh man all right I'm going to get on 1:34:19 out of 1:34:20 here fantastic uh considering the 1:34:23 current cabinet pick seems appropriate 1:34:25 referencing Barbies yeah yeah 1:34:28 um I 1:34:34 [Music] 1:34:37 know am I am I really late to the game 1:34:41 in finding out that chat GPT is baked 1:34:44 into Apple intelligence it's not really 1:34:47 it's it's 1:34:49 not so most of Apple intelligence is run 1:34:52 by a bunch of small language models not 1:34:55 large language models um one of the 1:34:58 options and I don't even know if it's 1:34:59 built in yet I haven't I haven't played 1:35:01 with apple intelligence because it's so 1:35:03 bad 1:35:06 um one of the options is you can use 1:35:09 chat GPT as a default engine kind of 1:35:12 like you can use Google as a default 1:35:13 search engine um they cut that deal with 1:35:16 open AI but it's it's not powering most 1:35:18 of Apple intelligence it's most of Apple 1:35:21 intelligence is actually run by Apple's 1:35:24 small language 1:35:38 models it's it's not that's that's a 1:35:41 misconception that's a misconception I 1:35:44 mean why pay for chat GPT is 1:35:48 increasingly um a valid question I 1:35:52 didn't think it used to be um but but 1:35:55 they're giving like all of the features 1:35:56 you can use for free you can't make 1:35:59 custom gpts so that's that's the one 1:36:01 thing you do get access to new 1:36:03 technology when it comes out like like 1:36:06 uh advanced voice went to paid Members 1:36:08 First um and and actually right now it's 1:36:11 still paid members um so so you have 1:36:13 that um but there's there's so many 1:36:17 other tools out there like you don't I I 1:36:19 would say you don't have to pay for chat 1:36:20 GPT 1:36:26 [Music] 1:36:39 you get more tokens yeah if if you're a 1:36:41 paid member you get more tokens that's 1:36:42 true you get you get more more activity 1:36:46 before they rate limit you claude's 1:36:49 really shitty with the rate limiting oh 1:36:50 they just almost got picked again all 1:36:53 right I gotta go I'm at this point I'm 1:36:54 just watching a football game in the 1:36:58 background tomorrow night be there for 1:37:00 the AI Salon uh second year anniversary 1:37:03 and we'll hang out um good seeing you 1:37:06 all
