9:30 is that at The Point open AI hits
9:34 AGI Microsoft loses commercial access to

9:42 said Altman is also
9:45 considering flipping chat GPT from this
9:49 current hybrid sort
9:52 of fixed cap for-profit model that's run
9:56 by a nonprofit board he's thinking about
9:59 just flipp that over to a for-profit
10:01 company so so yeah I have a feeling I
10:04 have a feeling all sorts of stuff is is

10:15 um well I was very
10:19 impressed that so little leaked from
10:22 Apple about what they were announcing
10:24 today because everyone sort of made the
10:26 assumption that they cut the deal with
10:28 open AI to be the primary engine of
10:32 their their AI stuff and it's
10:35 not most of the stuff they showed today
10:38 was their own AI running locally on
10:40 their own chips and on their own
10:42 private private Cloud servers that are
10:45 also running their own chips so they
10:48 kind of spat in the face of
10:51 Nvidia
10:53 um I mean I think they did the deal with
10:56 open AI because maybe their big models
10:59 not up to Snuff yet so they have to have
11:01 something that can really do large
11:02 language model
11:04 stuff but but the the uh the chat GPT
11:09 addition to the Apple infrastructure is
11:12 more like just a nice add-on rather than
11:15 core to what they did um and that was
11:19 evidenced by the fact that they didn't
11:20 have Sam Alman on stage right he was
11:22 there at the event but they didn't bring
11:24 him up on stage to to talk about this
11:27 stuff I missed the Apple announcement
11:29 can't wait for the yeah I'll walk I'll
11:30 I'll run through it we'll play some of
11:32 the uh some of the keynote I'll try to
11:35 skip the cheesy Parts my God that Craig
11:37 Ferguson dude the head of software he is
11:39 such

11:54 today a lot of that kind of stuff it's

12:47 stuff today was just announcements you

12:51 it's announcements so so here's the the
12:54 the the bottom line for most of you
12:57 paying attention to the Apple thing if
12:59 you're not a developer um you don't
13:01 really have to worry about this [ __ ]
13:03 till at least the fall right so what
13:06 they announced today was really for
13:07 developers to start developing an iOS 18
13:10 there will be a public beta of iOS 18
13:14 probably in a month or two or I don't
13:15 maybe less than that but at some point
13:17 here shortly and if you want to be
13:19 adventurous and have early buggy
13:21 software on your iOS and Mac devices you
13:23 can do that um but if you're not feeling
13:26 adventurous I'd just
13:28 wait um um but they they announced some
13:32 really interesting things the the the
13:35 thing that I think I'm most excited
13:36 about that they announced is actions and
13:39 this thing like the intent architecture
13:42 or something like that which is
13:43 basically like little hooks that you can
13:45 write into your app if you've got a
13:48 third-party app that that when someone
13:51 is using Apple intelligence the the AI
13:55 when they're using Siri basically when
13:58 they're using Siri and they and say hey
14:01 um uh let's see uh uh give me a a a cake
14:06 recipe from that recipe app that I got
14:08 you know that developer is going to be
14:10 able to write the hooks from that Siri
14:13 recommendation into their app and that's
14:16 that's pretty slick so um actions were
14:20 the things that I that that I
14:22 was most hoping I would see from them
14:25 and we actually saw it and so that's
14:28 exciting and then there were a couple
14:30 other nice things that are that are
14:31 going to really help with consumer

14:40 adoption I thought the implementation of
14:42 the chat chat GPT stuff was duct taped
14:46 on I'm just curious how many of us are
14:49 obsessed with AI and play play play
14:51 instruments because I can jam nice um
14:55 yeah I don't know I mean I think that I
14:59 think that where okay so a couple of
15:01 things I think we are quickly entering
15:05 um a phase of uh you know revenge of the
15:09 liberal arts Majors so I think the more
15:11 multidisciplinary you are um we're us
15:15 generalists are going to be coming into
15:16 our power as these tools get more
15:19 capable and do the work of the
15:21 Specialists people are going to need
15:22 generalists but I think in general right
15:24 now because the tools are very general
15:27 and very janky and you have to kind of
15:29 crack men them together it's not
15:31 dissimilar to picking around on a guitar
15:34 or you know sketching or plinking around
15:36 on a piano or you know or you know
15:38 writing uh doing creative writing so
15:41 it's I I think the skills that's
15:43 required for generative AI right
15:45 now lends itself
15:48 to having lots of
15:50 different you know irons in the fire I
15:55 liked it when he did gymnastics down the
15:56 stairs the
15:58 parkour with the bad stunt double that
16:00 was pretty
16:03 funny oh man and you can't do anything
16:06 without a pro version 15 or higher and
16:09 an M1 or higher yep exactly
16:13 so but the reason for that the reason
16:17 that they need an M1 or higher and a 15
16:19 Pro or
16:21 higher is um a lot of
16:25 the
16:27 um AI that they're processing they're
16:30 processing locally so basically if
16:32 they're doing small AI like just sort of
16:35 figuring out how to if you say hey show
16:38 me that picture of when we went to the
16:40 lake 3 weeks
16:42 ago that's all of that is going to be
16:45 processed locally and then if you want
16:48 to do something fancier like you know
16:51 write me an M&M WAP that explains
16:53 quantum physics that's where they're
16:55 going to call out to chat GPT but the
16:58 thing that's really annoying how they
16:59 did that is you have to approve it every
17:02 time hey this might be better for chat
17:04 GPT are you sure you want to go outside
17:06 of the Apple safety

17:17 want to go to chat GPT to answer that
17:20 yes about the third time of that is when
17:22 I throw my phone against the
17:25 wall so hopefully in user testing over
17:28 the summer they determin that that's a

18:30 um essentially consumer adoption when
18:33 are we going to see big Brands like Coke
18:35 and Nike and whoever else Dove adopt Ai
18:41 and you know my answer was basically
18:42 like you really won't see that until
18:45 consumers adopt Ai and you won't see
18:47 that until this [ __ ] gets less janky and
18:50 it gets a little more integrated and and
18:52 then a lot of the stuff Apple showed
18:53 today the one thing that I think is
18:57 stupid that is actually going to drive a
19:00 lot is they showed this feature where
19:03 you can take a photo of your friends and
19:05 family and turn them into cartoon
19:07 characters so they're like if you think
19:09 your mom's a hero a superhero now you
19:11 can actually make her a superhero and
19:13 they take her picture and they're like
19:15 superhero mom and it takes her face and
19:17 it turns it into a little cartoon
19:20 character
19:22 um I think stupid [ __ ] like that built
19:24 in is going to get
19:28 people inadvertently using
19:36 AI what was that about the Mary Mary oh
19:40 the Dove commercial yeah the the dove so
19:43 so Dove did the if you don't know Dove
19:46 they've got the real Beauty campaign
19:47 from a few years
19:49 back and someone some smart person at
19:53 their agency probably at their agency
19:56 realized that if if in um like do or mid
20:00 Journey if you type in Dove real
20:03 Beauty um and then you're prompt for for
20:05 whatever it is you get more real looking
20:09 women they're not so you know sexualized
20:12 and
20:14 fantasized and so Dove did a campaign on
20:16 that which I think is really
20:19 smart I do too but they will get bored
20:22 just like
20:25 bitmoji maybe
20:29 but bitmoji you had you had to like
20:33 construct yourself right you had to give
20:35 yourself the hair and the glasses
20:38 and and widen the mouth and and this is
20:41 just take a picture of your loved one or
20:43 your dog and turn it into a cartoon
20:47 character I wrote an article on LinkedIn
20:51 a couple of months back called um
20:54 something like the C the the era of
20:56 casual
20:58 excellence where you don't have to do
20:59 much work to get really fun creative
21:02 work out of it and I think I think some
21:04 of the stuff they showed today very much
21:05 lives in that space people have been
21:07 using AI for years and don't know it you
21:09 don't realize what all is AI based yep
21:12 for sure
21:13 absolutely
21:15 absolutely but if you can start to do
21:17 stuff like I'll tell you where where it
21:19 will make a difference pate and you know
21:21 maybe people won't even know it's it's
21:23 AI but if I can just say you know um
21:28 book me a you know book book me some
21:31 tickets for that movie this week and
21:34 it's smart enough to know which movie
21:37 and which week we're talking about and
21:39 what the day actually is and actually
21:42 book it and take that
21:44 action it's going to it's going to
21:47 pretty seriously transform how we use
21:49 our
21:50 data and I think I think apple is
21:53 uniquely
21:54 positioned you know whether it's
21:56 actually secure or not that's a
21:58 different story but their brand is
22:02 strong on privacy and security
22:04 so they take privacy
22:08 seriously all right what are we going to
22:11 do tonight have you seen the finalist
22:12 for the AI Beauty competition I've seen
22:15 better images in in this room yeah well

22:25 it's I talk about this all the time
22:27 people think ai's overhyped right now
22:30 and people think we're we're
22:33 oversaturated and and we're we're in a
22:35 bubble the we the hype hasn't even begun
22:38 like we've barely started so things like
22:41 the AI beauty pageant I in the early
22:43 days of the worldwide web there would be
22:44 contest like that every every month
22:48 would be some stupid new thing like that
22:51 and so you know the only people that
22:53 would participate were Geeks cuz that's
22:55 the only people that were building
22:57 websites back then so
22:59 oh
23:01 man why are people rejecting corporate
23:05 AI
23:09 H I don't know what that means rejecting
23:11 corporate AI like why are corporations
23:13 not not adopting it like like people
23:18 are um largely because it's not safe and
23:22 secure and it hallucinates and it's not
23:23 it's not really ready for prime time yet
23:25 that's again again why I think that
23:28 we're a little early we're earlier than
23:29 people think and we're not as hyped as
23:31 people think um is the the tools just
23:35 aren't quite ready yet people are
23:37 unfortunately rejecting corporate AI use
23:39 Wizards of the
23:41 Coast had a lot of
23:44 backlash um yeah it's
23:47 also you know this is an almost
23:50 identical cycle to the early days of the
23:52 worldwide web the it groups have
23:55 outsized influence right now because
23:59 they are the it groups are rightly
24:01 saying this [ __ ] ain't

24:10 um and then even even a lot of the
24:13 companies that are adopting it in some
24:15 way like they're buying chat GPT
24:17 licenses for their staff they're not
24:19 training their staff so they're like oh
24:21 you got chat GPT now okay if I don't
24:24 know how to use it if I haven't been
24:25 trained on it Paul rater in there in the
24:29 the B2B marketing Summit they just did
24:31 this was a big topic of conversation
24:33 that in Paul's keynote was if you're if
24:37 if your staff doesn't know how to use it
24:40 they're not going to use it or they're
24:43 not going to use it well when I was in
24:45 grad school I proposed that platforms
24:47 should be paying users rent on their
24:51 data yeah I'll tell you what side hustle
24:53 Mimi that you're hitting on something I
24:56 think this is I think there's a big
25:00 a big shift is going to
25:03 happen in the
25:05 next probably in the next year or two
25:08 individuals are going to start to
25:11 realize how how how
25:15 valuable their data is and they're going
25:19 to start trying to claw it
25:21 back and then I think over the next 3 to
25:24 5 years there's going to be a whole new
25:26 market for all of us to monetize our
25:30 data to monetize our likenesses to
25:33 manage our
25:34 likenesses um maybe to have
25:37 representation like Talent
25:40 agents but Kyle I didn't go to acting
25:42 school
25:46 exactly when everyone's likeness can be
25:48 leveraged in some interesting
25:51 way and that's a value and we realize
25:55 that you might actually look twice at
25:58 the Employment contract you sign well
26:01 wait a minute how long do you own my
26:03 likeness is it only while I'm employed
26:05 here or is it in perpetuity and how much
26:07 are you compensating me for that if you
26:09 use it
26:11 Beyond you know beyond work and
26:15 corporations will try to own all of it
26:18 forever you
26:25 know we should be able to patent our
26:28 personality
26:31 well I assume it would be copyright not
26:35 patent but I like I I think it's I think
26:39 somewhere in the neighborhood of what
26:40 I'm talking about is what you're talking
26:42 about there Li licensing our
26:44 likeness and and who owns that license
26:47 who owns our
26:49 likeness do
26:51 we or does chat GPT own it because
26:55 they're giving us the service for free
26:57 right that's that's what Google's whole
27:00 Mo has been forever right if the if the
27:03 service is free you're the
27:07 product but I
27:09 think I think we could be moving into an
27:12 era where where individuals understand
27:15 the value of their likeness um even in
27:18 even in work situations it's not just
27:20 going to be for media and influencers
27:22 you know little little pink pink stripe
27:25 of hair no no no we don't want to
27:27 monetize stuff we just want to
27:31 survive yeah well but that's but that's
27:34 part of it right that's part of it anti
27:35 bubbles that you
27:37 know you know it might be that companies
27:40 want people to come work for them long
27:42 enough to get their license get their
27:43 intellectual property and then just mine
27:45 it with generative
27:48 Ai and and I think people are going to
27:51 be increasingly like wait a minute I
27:53 should be fairly compensated for that
27:55 cuz you're not hiring me like you used
27:57 to so we'll see this is this is way off
27:59 in the in the distance it's not
28:01 happening right now will Apple
28:02 intelligence be an a rabbit R1 killer

28:37 uhuh only if we be if we're forced to do

28:51 thing that I am
28:54 increasingly confronting is the fact
28:57 that
28:59 a lot of my conversations lately feel
29:01 like I'm in a Sci-Fi movie I feel like
29:03 I'm in the you know you know in Sci-Fi
29:06 movies where you don't understand the
29:07 world you're in and so at some point in
29:10 the first 20 minutes is the exposition
29:12 scene where there's like some nerdy
29:15 computer scientist going well when
29:17 reality split in two in
29:20 2037 that's when we showed up we weren't
29:23 even in existence before and the Wrinkle
29:25 in Time right they they they always
29:27 explain explain the world in some
29:31 horribly awkward Exposition that's what
29:35 I feel like a lot of my conversations
29:37 are today well let's figure out how our
29:39 digital twins are going to interact with
29:41 people and you know are these going to
29:43 turn into businesses are they going to
29:45 be subscribable are they going to talk
29:47 are they going to look like us are they
29:48 going to look like cartoon versions of
29:50 like what are we what is going
29:53 on say more about dual lingo please oh
29:57 just just that um you we're just going
30:00 to be able to conversationally talk to
30:04 Siri or chat GPT or piie or whatever and
30:07 it will be able to outdo a lingo do a
30:09 lingo these things are going to remember
30:11 who we are they're going to remember how
30:12 much language we have um all that sort
30:15 of stuff so the the a lot of specialized
30:20 software is just going to get gobbled up
30:24 as these things become more and more
30:26 capable um and I think I think
30:29 language language learning tools are
30:31 some of them I think some may survive
30:33 like dualingo might survive um
30:37 but
30:41 um but it's going to get increasingly
30:43 commoditized so they're going to have to
30:44 find ways to remain relevant when you
30:46 can just talk to stuff and say hey teach
30:48 me this language and pick up where I I
30:50 left off yesterday what the [ __ ] is
30:52 going on with my eyebrow right there

39:52 show and then if if I upload myself into
39:55 this and I star a TV
39:59 show that becomes really
40:01 popular do I get money for that or do I
40:05 pay them 10 bucks a month for the
40:07 privilege of having my dude run around
40:09 San Francisco and be turned into a TV
40:12 show like I I don't
40:15 know isn't this crazy it's a Sims AI
40:19 metaverse reality show
40:21 exactly this is the beginning of that
40:24 Ryan RS movie every [ __ ] conversation
40:26 I'm having recently is like like oh this
40:29 is like that movie oh this is Black
40:32 Mirror oh that sci-fi movie is now a
40:36 documentary oh my like The Truman Show
40:39 this is ex this is 100% like The Truman
40:43 Show but I think in this
40:46 case so if you think about um Second
40:49 Life right you remember Second Life from
40:51 the early
40:53 2000s it was a metaverse and you would
40:56 put yourself in it and you would build
40:57 your little house and you would build
40:58 your art galleries and you would go in
41:01 but you would have to go in there and
41:02 run around and one of the reasons it was
41:04 weird and awkward is that not a lot of
41:07 people hung out in there all the time
41:10 and
41:11 so second life kind of felt like an
41:13 awkward Junior High School dance where
41:15 people just were standing around staring
41:17 at each other cuz nobody knew what to do
41:20 but now with generative AI with these
41:23 NPCs taking on lives of their own and
41:25 having memory and having the ability to
41:28 talk to one another and having the
41:30 ability to potentially even take actions
41:32 based on the stuff we saw from Apple
41:36 today you don't actually have to be
41:38 there but you could be represented in
41:41 there and maybe sometimes you go in
41:43 there and you inhabit your body and
41:44 sometimes you
41:47 don't are you going to have one version
41:50 of you out in the universe are you going
41:51 to have a thousand versions of you out
41:53 in the universe and are you going to
41:54 manage all that or are you just going to
41:57 let them go out and [ __ ] stuff
42:00 up and then you're going to get served a
42:03 lawsuit because your NPC [ __ ] with
42:06 someone else's NPC and they lost $50 in
42:08 the stock market oh my God it's the new

43:23 base before me I think so yeah if you're
43:26 watching if you're watching your first
43:28 date and all of a sudden you end up back
43:30 at the apartment and you're like oh [ __ ]
43:33 this is going to get steamy I gotta call
43:36 this woman
43:40 now prank call it
43:44 NPC I'm telling you
43:48 man what's really cool about this
43:52 time in what's about to come
43:58 is that the technology is so shitty and
44:01 thin and weird and
44:05 weak that you can only see hints of
44:07 what's coming but if if you peel back
44:10 the layers and look at like if if I look
44:12 at what this is and even if it is
44:15 remotely like what they say it is that's
44:18 pretty [ __ ] interesting right and
44:20 then imagine that 3 years out where the
44:22 technology gets really
44:26 good I mean imagine being able
44:29 to upload yourself into San Francisco or

44:34 this and you could either walk around in

50:06 action um personal means it understands

50:13 say hey I want to go out with my
50:16 family this weekend it knows what that
50:20 means it knows who's part of that it
50:22 knows what this weekend is it knows
50:24 where we live it understands what we've
50:26 done before what we like what we don't
50:28 like things like
50:29 that um all right let me let me try to
50:32 jump around here and see if I can
50:35 find interesting
50:43 stuff all of this goes beyond artificial
50:46 intelligence it's personal intelligence
50:49 and it's the next big step for Apple

53:25 Cloud compute is interesting so one of
53:27 the things I talked about
53:29 is some tasks require small AI like
53:34 small models and those will be done
53:36 locally on device and then some tasks
53:39 require more horsepower and those will
53:41 be shifted off to the cloud and they're
53:44 creating a new AI inference
53:48 infrastructure on Apple silicon that is
53:51 your own sort of private area where they
53:55 don't look at anything basic
53:57 basically Apple intelligence to flex and
54:00 scale its computational capacity and
54:03 draw on even larger server-based models
54:05 for more complex requests while
54:08 protecting your privacy these models run
54:10 on servers we've especially created
54:13 using Apple silicon these Apple silicon
54:15 servers offer the privacy and security
54:18 of your iPhone from the Silicon on up
54:21 draw on the security properties of the
54:23 Swift programming language and run
54:25 software with transparency built in when
54:29 you talk to Siri you'll notice it's more
54:31 deeply integrated into the system
54:33 experience with this El yeah notice the
54:36 like the the sort of cool animation
54:38 around the edge of the phone that's the
54:39 new Siri it's pretty
54:41 slick get glowing light that wraps
54:43 around the edge of your screen and you
54:45 can speak to Siri more by the way I love
54:48 the new logo there's some people hating
54:50 on the new logo I think it's quite
54:51 elegant it makes it very clear that this
54:54 is a different experience thanks to
54:56 richer
54:57 understanding capabilities Even If I
54:59 Stumble over my words Siri understands
55:01 what I'm getting at what does the
55:03 weather look like for tomorrow at Mir

55:08 Woods the forecast is calling for clear

55:15 better image now what's not clear is is
55:19 that
55:21 voice Apple AI or is it GPT 40 voice I

55:30 gp4 or they would have made a bigger
55:32 deal of Sam mman being there for your
55:36 architectural history course with image
55:38 wand you can Circle your rough sketch
55:40 using apple pencil to open up an image
55:43 playground within your note image wand
55:45 uses on device so this is cool so you
55:49 you Circle the thing and then it can see
55:51 all of your notes here and so it'll give
55:53 you suggestions on what image to
55:55 generate based on your notes that's
55:58 pretty slick intelligence to analyze
56:00 your sketch and words and creates an
56:03 image for you we've all had that time
56:05 when we thought we got the perfect shot
56:07 and realized later it wasn't quite
56:09 perfect now the new cleanup tool will
56:12 identify distracting objects in the
56:14 background so you can make them
56:16 disappear without accidentally changing
56:18 your
56:19 subject we want you to be able to use
56:22 these external models without having to
56:24 jump between different tools so we're in
56:26 integrating them right into your
56:28 experiences and we're starting out with
56:31 the best of these the Pioneer and market
56:33 leader chat that didn't yeah they
56:36 they're incorporating chat gbt that
56:37 didn't have very many of the things in
56:39 it let me do let's do um
56:42 Apple intelligence
56:59 biggest AI announcements here this could
57:01 be it in 11 go ahead skip a garbage day
57:04 this smart kitchen bin takes weeks and
57:06 weeks to fill up and it never SM Apple
57:09 intelligence will enable your iPhone
57:10 iPad and Mac to understand and create
57:13 language as well as images and take
57:15 action for you to simplify interactions
57:18 across your apps for example your iPhone
57:21 can prioritize your notifications to
57:23 minimize unnecessary distractions while
57:25 ensuring you don't miss something
57:27 important Apple intelligence also Powers
57:30 brand new writing tools that you can
57:32 access systemwide to feel more confident
57:34 in your writing writing tools can
57:37 rewrite proofread and summarize text for
57:39 you and now you can create totally
57:41 original images to make everyday
57:43 conversations even more enjoyable so
57:46 when you wish a friend a happy birthday
57:48 you can create an image of them
57:49 surrounded by see that to me feels like
57:52 a big deal you take a picture of your
57:54 friend it turns it into a cute little
57:58 thing and it's you know it's bang like

58:04 noticed they're making a choice about
58:06 image
58:09 generation they're not allowing you to
58:11 do
58:12 photorealistic image generation it's all
58:15 cartoons or
58:17 illustrations um which probably just
58:20 saves them from the headache of deep
58:23 fakes and lawsuits and things like that
58:26 so but fascinating but but this feature
58:29 in particular if I can just really
58:31 quickly you know make someone a
58:33 personalized card or make a joke you
58:35 know with their image on it cake
58:37 balloons and flowers to make it extra
58:39 festive you can create images in three
58:41 unique Styles sketch
58:45 illustration and
58:47 animation in addition to messages this
58:50 experience is built into Apps throughout
58:52 the system like notes free form Keynote
58:56 and Pages another way Apple intelligence
58:59 is deeply impactful is its ability to
59:01 take action across your apps this is
59:04 huge this is this is the thing that I
59:07 was most hoping that they would have and
59:10 I was least confident that they would
59:12 have it will be sad when you meet a
59:14 person and are disappointed that they're
59:16 not the AI yeah the AI that made them I
59:19 know I I agree side hustle Mimi I you
59:22 know we've gone through the catfishing
59:25 era and I think the catfish areas about
59:27 to get really [ __ ] intense where
59:29 we're just disappointed with everyone we
59:31 meet cuz they're not the actual
59:33 superhero we thought they were so so you
59:36 can say things like pull up the files
59:39 that Jaws shared with me last week or
59:41 like that's huge pull up the files that
59:43 jaw shared with me last week and it it
59:46 will know what that means across
59:49 applications or show me all the photos
59:51 of mom Olivia and me or play the podcast
59:55 that my wife sent the the other day
59:57 there's one right play the podcast that
59:59 my wife sent the other day and notice

1:00:03 messages connected here I have a feeling
1:00:06 that you these are going to be similar
1:00:08 to um to automations that we have right
1:00:11 now what are they called are they called
1:00:13 automations in apple they're called
1:00:17 somethings anyway um but I think you'll
1:00:20 you'll stitch them together you know
1:00:22 like like automation apps we have today
1:00:24 like if this then that prob something in
1:00:27 that neighborhood one more critical
1:00:29 building block for personal intelligence
1:00:31 and that's an understanding of your
1:00:33 personal context suppose one of my
1:00:35 meetings is being rescheduled for late
1:00:37 in the afternoon and I'm wondering if
1:00:39 it's going to prevent me from getting to
1:00:40 my daughter's play performance on time
1:00:42 Apple intelligence can process the
1:00:44 relevant personal data to assist me it
1:00:47 can understand who my daughter is the
1:00:49 play details she sent several days ago
1:00:52 the time and location for my meeting and
1:00:54 predicted traffic between my office and
1:00:57 the theater with apple intelligence
1:00:59 powerful intelligence goes hand inand
1:01:02 with powerful privacy right and this is
1:01:05 critical this is where I think Apple
1:01:07 actually has some credibility is with
1:01:11 privacy we have integrated it deep into
1:01:13 your iPhone iPad and mac and throughout
1:01:15 your apps so it's aware of your personal
1:01:18 data without collecting your personal
1:01:20 data when you make a request Apple
1:01:22 intelligence analyzes whether it can be
1:01:24 processed on device if it needs
1:01:27 greater real GPT will tell you that
1:01:30 you're you're catfished GPT she's way
1:01:33 out of your league dude that's really
1:01:37 good in 10 years kids will be like
1:01:40 what's paper and what's a pen and a
1:01:42 notebook I know well they'll be like

1:01:45 memory yeah actually had to remember

1:01:50 this being released so this is worldwide
1:01:53 uh developers conference so the way it
1:01:55 works is

1:02:03 they'll probably go into public beta

1:02:08 WWDC so sometime this summer there will
1:02:11 be public betas available of all this if

1:02:16 an iPhone 15 Pro so you have to have an

1:04:30 so I think that AI is is is going to
1:04:33 absolutely um find cures for things and
1:04:37 then I think there's going to be a
1:04:38 massive power struggle to
1:04:44 Corral that
1:04:46 data um and run Miss information on it I
1:04:51 think this the centers of power the
1:04:53 death throws of the centers of Power are
1:04:55 going to they're going to take a while
1:04:57 to shake out um so I wouldn't be at all
1:04:59 surprised if we see you know massive
1:05:05 anti-i lobbying uh from existing
1:05:10 industries that are are massively
1:05:12 threatened so um but I I see it as an
1:05:16 absolute possibility automations Pharma
1:05:20 shaking in their boots yeah
1:05:24 yeah you mean how's Zuck going to get
1:05:26 rid of Tik Tok well I think I think
1:05:28 elon's going to make a Tik Tok
1:05:30 competitor on X X I think X is going to
1:05:34 very very quickly turn into the
1:05:36 everything app that's Elon has stated it
1:05:39 I think it's going to become a shopping
1:05:41 app um a chat app something like Tik
1:05:45 Tock you know what it currently is a
1:05:47 payment app it's going to be all of it
1:05:50 um I've already seen I I've already
1:05:52 worked on several medical analyses with
1:05:54 success oh fascinating
1:05:57 I'm sorry he tried it is not real that
1:06:00 is getting it done I don't know what
1:06:02 that
1:06:05 means
1:06:09 um able to solve big problems I heard
1:06:12 somewhere One agent to agent
1:06:14 communication becomes possible then
1:06:16 they're able to solve well there's two
1:06:18 there's two
1:06:20 major there's two major things missing
1:06:23 right now from from the the frontier
1:06:27 models and one of them is reasoning and
1:06:29 the other one is agentic behavior easy a
1:06:32 agentic behavior where it can take
1:06:34 action on on behalf and that's that's
1:06:36 what um uh Apple showed the beginning of
1:06:40 today and they they have this really
1:06:41 cool thing called the intent framework
1:06:46 and so developers are going to be able
1:06:47 to say here's the intent of my app and
1:06:50 when someone talks and they say I need
1:06:51 an app that does this that or the other
1:06:54 the Siri will be able to connect it with
1:06:56 apps that do that sort of thing so
1:06:58 through through the intent framework
1:07:00 computational capacity it can draw on
1:07:02 private Cloud compute and send only the
1:07:05 data that's relevant to your task to be
1:07:07 processed on Apple silicon servers your
1:07:10 data is never stored or made accessible
1:07:12 to Apple it's used exclusively to
1:07:15 fulfill your request and just like your
1:07:18 iPhone independent experts can inspect
1:07:21 the code that runs on these servers to
1:07:23 verify this privacy prompt see that's
1:07:26 smart third parties can verify that that
1:07:30 the data is actually private that's it's
1:07:33 really smart on their behalf I mean that
1:07:36 that they're leaning in heavily into
1:07:37 privacy this early in the presentation

1:19:58 Frontier Model level like creating

1:20:04 defensible because open source is just

1:20:34 story you want to see just type a
1:20:36 description using its language and image

1:20:46 frankly this is what Apple photos should
1:20:48 have been 10 years ago unique chapters

1:25:13 so bad at AI that they had to have chat
1:25:16 GPT back them up it might be the case
1:25:19 for some of the
1:25:21 larger um queries but but there's
1:25:24 there's a surprising amount of Apple AI

2:04:14 another to step into the unknown
2:04:16 together on this journey we play first
2:04:19 mindfully create and generously lead to
2:04:22 ReDiscover ourselves and reinvent the
2:04:25 work we do if we succeed on our journey
2:04:27 we just may bend the Ark of humanity
2:04:30 ever so slightly toward the light so
2:04:33 that's the new vision of the salon
2:04:35 that's that's what we're about play

2:05:07 do an art project solve a problem create
2:05:09 a marketing plan and then flip into this

2:05:16 sort of thing and just keep cycling
2:05:18 through this chills isn't it isn't it
