43. 10:00really is a cipher there's a lot in it there's a lot in it um the other thing that's kind of fascinating is

55. 12:19complexity okay so this is good all right so here's what I learned I learned that I used the wrong word my intent was
56. 12:26to use the one that was used in hipop um and only had chat GPT tell me so it told me wrong [ __ ] um and and so now that
57. 12:35I'm learning here the Y is the one for hip hop the I is the one that means like like a a puzzle but the I that that's a good play
58. 12:46on words it it's it's it's very much in theme with Eminem So anyway um that's pretty cool so Quantum Cipher or Quantum Cipher

69. 14:30made and and it's gotten now like 330,000 views like it is it is eclipsed anything I've ever done um one of the
70. 14:40one of the comments one of the comments I got today was oh so what I guess like fat old men sitting in cars are are
71. 14:48hip-hop stars now and I was like yep apparently so someone else was like do you even know anything about hip-hop like not
72. 15:02really but I know words I know words and I appreciate words ah and that's that's one of the lessons I think is that um one of the
73. 15:14lessons with AI is if you're new to AI the trick with it is use your words right there's actually you know it's
74. 15:26funny there's there's a lot of parallels between hip hop and and AI because it's all about the words right it's all about
75. 15:35you know crafting and navigating using words to navigate the world right and that's kind of what hip hop is it's like
76. 15:43how do we how do we take this shitty situation or this shitty life or this shitty whatever it is and and you know recontextualize it with
77. 15:52words that's all AI is it's like use your words figure out what is the combination of words that you can put in
78. 15:59into this bizarre machine to get it to spit something back out that is a version of what you wanted and it's you
79. 16:07know it's funny a lot of the comments that are negative there's they're mostly positive which is cool but a lot of the
80. 16:12comments that are negative are just like it's it's that assumption that well say I you just push a button there's no work
81. 16:19there's no craft and it's just not true there's there's linguistic craft to be able to get to the things to do what you
82. 16:27want them to do it's like I'm getting a lot of comments like well how did you get it to talk fast like that I can't
83. 16:32get it to do that well like I don't know like maybe I just got lucky maybe it was some combination of how I asked it I
84. 16:38don't know so anyway kind of fascinating all right so how's 40 for screenwriting I haven't explicitly um

86. 17:07off chat gp4 has always been better at writing than than the other llms until within the past four or five months
87. 17:18Claude got really good at creative writing so claude's good at creative writing gp4 is good at creative writing I think chat gp40
88. 17:29is really good at um story structure but it's historically been bad at dialogue right so if you want to get
89. 17:38the the scenes it would just do them too short it it was just shitty um and then when 0an preview came
90. 17:46out um as a test I uploaded a fragment of a screenplay outline and a fragment of a screen play that I had you know
91. 17:53started years back and I basically just said finish the outline and it thought about it for I don't know 59 minutes or
92. 18:01or 59 seconds or something like that thought about it a lot um okay okay um and um it it finished the outline
93. 18:15brilliantly and then I said I just picked a random scene and I said write this scene and it it was shockingly good
94. 18:23so 01 preview is good at writing I assume you're going to need to give it some sample writing that it can follow
95. 18:30but once once I gave it that it was quite good I haven't tried doing dialogue writing with the new creative
96. 18:37writing version of chat GPT that came out this week so but I would imagine it's probably pretty good all right what

102. 20:06gotten 330,000 views it just keeps you know it just keeps getting watched and shared then I put up the song itself
103. 20:15with the lyrics and then I put up this video on Tik Tok as Standalone files they're like Tik tok's blocking
104. 20:22him and to the point that Kelly Bosch reached out to me and she goes is Tik Tok blocking the video cuz like normally
105. 20:29I get three or four thousand views like that and I've only got a thousand I was like I've got like 800 so the the shitty video of the fat
106. 20:38guy in the car that's getting all the views nice and then but this this is uh so the history if you haven't been here the past couple of
107. 20:48nights five nights ago now um I was just living my my life we were doing these lives and then the next day um chat GPT came out with
108. 21:02this new creative writing upgrade and so I tried it and for the first time in two years it wrote lyrics for an Eminem style
109. 21:11rap really close to how Eminem does word play and sophisticated word play Within the lyrics I was like [ __ ] and so I
110. 21:20updated you know I refined it a bit and then I took those lyrics put them into suo V4 tuno version 4 and had chat GPT write me the prompt
111. 21:33for that right give me something that is describes his music without using his name and so I ended up with this song
112. 21:41and then the next day I asked Kelly Bosch if she would do a video she showed up last night with this video so in less
113. 21:48than like a 36h hour period this thing went from not existing in the world to this video so here you go so here's here's what everyone's

146. 26:20just it's like a beat I would listen to and a lot of people like put it on Spotify so it's on Spotify now so if you
147. 26:26search for the quantum Cipher C i p h e r which we now know that's I I chose that spelling correctly on purpose it was not a mistake for
148. 26:39definitely for sure that's the correct spelling as I intended because I am a master of the words oh good lord okay but
149. 27:00something struck me about the lyrics and that was they're more sophisticated well if I really took the time to parse them I could parse them

168. 30:52the material through discussion and activities so what's what struck me about this project is a lot of the comments that I'm
169. 31:03getting on both Twitter and Tik Tock are like I want to use this for education or this would be great to use for
170. 31:13education and so that it opened up kind of a whole world to me that that if you think critically and if you think
171. 31:26creatively a about anything you produce with AI it gives you the opportunity to kind of open the door to other kinds of
172. 31:36output right so if I was just if I was just a music producer and I produced that song or even just that beat or the lyrics or
173. 31:46whatever it was then I'd go I'm gonna make the song and then I might you know make the video or that might come
174. 31:53later and I'd just be focused on on the song and the track and maybe the marketing for the song but because AI can basically go
175. 32:03anywhere you want it to go if you get an idea like someone says oh you should use this for Education well [ __ ] what could you do well the
176. 32:13lyrics are pretty dense what if we went and looked at them so here are the lenses that chat jpt used the language lens vocabulary
177. 32:28and diction literary devices rhythmic structure social and cultural lens Fusion of genres representation cultural
178. 32:37impact scientific lens Quantum Concepts entanglement superposition planks constant metaphorical interpretation how
179. 32:46are quantum Concepts used metaphorically to describe the artist's skill and experiences like that it did that is just you know crazy
180. 33:03and that it can now analyze it and tell us what's in there that's that amazing mathematical lens philosophical lens
181. 33:10artist artistic and creative lens right so then it designs activities for us Activity one vocabulary building
182. 33:18enhance understanding of complex terms in create instructions create flash cards for each scientific term used in
183. 33:25the lyrics on one side write the term on the other it's definition literary device hunt um identify and analyze literary devices in
184. 33:35small groups find examples of metaphors similes alliteration internal Rhymes discuss how they contribute to the song's
185. 33:43meaning um so so you're getting you know science you're getting language um deep in the knowledge of quantum mechanics choose one scientific
186. 33:54concept from the lyrics and prepare a short presentation explaining in simple terms creative expression write your own
187. 34:01verse or poem incorporating scientific concepts with at least two literary devices so this is this is one of those things
188. 34:09where critics of AI sitting on the outside will say oh AI produced it so it's all garbage but it's not and how you make it
189. 34:21obvious that it's not garbage is you use it as a teaching device for students to to do other things like you go write
190. 34:30your own verses now and if you think these suck because AI wrote them go write some better ones right I think
191. 34:37that's brilliant um interdisciplinary connections metaphorical meaning um innovative ways to engage students so
192. 34:44it's giving us a whole lesson plan here um all right let me scroll to the Bottom now because I did some stuff this
193. 34:56afternoon that I that was pretty good this is the teachers guide and I put this if if you're here on X one of my recent posts I I posted

199. 36:44salad now I might not know the definition of word salad but I do know that it's a disparaging remark that
200. 36:52means your words are meaningless sir your words suck and my words are much better um so so I so I did this post on Twitter
201. 37:07word salad my ass you know some some haters basically say it's AI Dil um so what we created what I created using chat GPT was a linguistic
202. 37:19scavenger hunt and um so this is the analysis that um that chat GPT did it basically said there's 18 metaphors used five similes
203. 37:3312 instances of alliteration 15 instances of internal Rhymes 20 instances of multi- cabic Rhymes um six double on tandas one of
204. 37:43the things that um the know--it alls said in the comments was um yeah M&M's use double on tandas there's none in
205. 37:51here you big fat loser they didn't say that last part I I add that in my head just to keep the shame stick rolling um
206. 37:59uh unique vocabulary words 120 literary devices used over 50 in instances right of of all these different things then
207. 38:07scientific references 25 terms um quantum mechanics uh Concepts 12 of them are in there um mathematical Concepts
208. 38:17philosophical Concepts right so so numerically here's all the [ __ ] that's in there and then so here's this the
209. 38:23scavenger hunt challenge find all 18 metaphors and identify the compar being made like this is just brilliant so the
210. 38:30other thing that hit me is I'm looking through this little scavenger hunt which it it just sort of whipped this up and I
211. 38:35you know copied and pasted some of the best parts of it and then I said here's your lyrics go go have fun with it
212. 38:44um there's so many so many ways that we could dissect this project we could do um keep the songs in a similar style but
213. 38:54you know this is the song about quantum mechanics and then we could do a song about I don't know Agriculture and we
214. 39:01could do a song about biology and we could do a song about geology or geography and do a song about political
215. 39:09science right you could do all these different songs and then every one of them becomes a teaching opportunity for
216. 39:14that discipline but all these other layers of linguistics and culture and Society like that that's just stunning
217. 39:23right um or you could do everything's on quantum mechanics but you do all sorts of different musical styles or you do
218. 39:30all sorts of different hip-hop artists like like there's just an infinite number of ways you can cut this the other thing that I thought
219. 39:38would be fun tonight is um is to go over to Claude and see if Claude can actually do some analysis and come
220. 39:49up with a an interactive dashboard for us we'll we'll basically watch Claude build an interactive dashboard of these lyrics and so so I
221. 39:59don't know how we're going to do that like one of the things that this channel is about is just playing right just

232. 41:52know it's a really good question it's a really good question I mean it sounds like in 2025 we're going to get AGI which is artificial
233. 42:03general intelligence the point at which these machines are um you know smart smarter than the average bear smarter than the average
234. 42:13person and not only smarter capable of doing the economically viable work of most people right initially that starts
235. 42:21out with knowledge work and computers but as these systems get into physical robots it's also going to happen with physical
236. 42:31work um Elon Musk says you know in the next 10 years there are going to be billions of you know um these humanoid
237. 42:41robots out there doing all sorts of stuff so I don't know and as these things get smarter and smarter and
238. 42:48smarter I think they start to do things like solve all of our problems Ethan mullik today this was fascinating let me go

240. 43:11co-intelligence not to be confused with my book collective intelligence in the age of AI two different concepts um but related but he said

253. 45:29order of operations if we solve this problem then we could solve that problem then we could solve that problem like

264. 47:13could actually make a song for every person coming to the conference right they could each get their own
265. 47:18personalized song like I'm like yeah go to their LinkedIn profile copy their LinkedIn profile throw that into chat
266. 47:24GPT have it write the lyrics throw it over into sunno have it write the song and send it off to them it's like why [Laughter]
267. 47:34not um Kelly was talking today about digital Twins and we discussed what if something happens to the person who the
268. 47:43business was built around would people trust your digital twin to run your business certainly not right now I think
269. 47:51you know the digital we're calling them digital advisors now at at uh content EV ution but I think that so here's one of the things that's
270. 48:04probably going to happen in 2025 Google said they've basically already cracked this pate I'm curious if you know anything about this is
271. 48:13um they've basically said that that the that our these AI systems are going to have infinite memory of what of what we interact with
272. 48:23them so they'll be able to remember anything you've ever talked about with them and so as these systems get
273. 48:30infinite memory and they get agentic and they get logic that's way beyond our problem solving ability um you're G to have this
274. 48:40personalized thing that knows exactly what you want and how you write and how you joke and how you like to do things
275. 48:47and where you like to go and the things that you rated low on Yelp right it's just they're going to get more and more
276. 48:55intelligent about who you are and what you like and that that's um I think when we start to have systems like that then
277. 49:02we'll be able to build digital twins that are you know in the hood of being able to run a business without us but but
278. 49:19I it might not be advantageous to have a digital twin of me run the business right because I'll probably make shittier
279. 49:31decisions than the AI system that's got all of the knowledge of all of humanity in it right so it might just be you know
280. 49:40maybe you just trust the AI system to run your business and that's so um open AI has created five levels of
281. 49:52AGI the first level of AGI is chat Bots we've got that the second level is reasoning which 01 preview is a
282. 49:59reasoning engine we've got you know the the shitty version of that it's actually pretty good but it's it's the shittiest
283. 50:04it will ever be it's a preview right now it's kind of low on the totem pole um the next level level three is Agents so
284. 50:12the ability for the computer to take action on your behalf is level three Claude has one of those out right now
285. 50:20and January we're going to get open AI version of that called operators um the fourth level up innovators or inventors so if you
286. 50:29combine chatbots reasoning and agentic behavior you can get them to do new and novel things and then the fifth level of
287. 50:39AGI is what open AI calls organizations so you take all of this and then you dynamically spin up employees for every person on on Earth
288. 50:51that's got an open AI account right so I could say I want to go start a business business doing X and then the system just spins up
289. 51:02workers worldclass workers to go do all that [ __ ] and I just sit back and go yeah no yeah I can just direct
290. 51:11it we're quickly moving into a world where we get to become directors like creative directors and director
291. 51:20directors and you know storytelling directors business directors things like that so what am I supposed to chime in

316. 55:26they Embrace AI they've got this really cool collaborative assistant where they're doing the teaching and they've
317. 55:33got this collaborative assistant as these tools get better and better and better and as they become you know sort of brought to life
318. 55:40with voice and with with you know physical robots and [ __ ] like that you're gonna have a robot that's gonna that's
319. 55:48gonna have way more capacity to teach in an incredibly personalized way than the teacher and so does the role of teacher
320. 55:57shift to more of you know counselor sociologist psychologist you know I I don't know I like it it just feels Bonkers to
321. 56:07me I I don't know I don't have a good answer for that one um all right what's this one say daisy May Since the models were trained on
322. 56:18human knowledge at some point do you think they could exceed human knowledge enough to solve problems like incurable
323. 56:24diseases yes in fact that thing I just read Ethan mik posted they said with $24 billion they could design vaccines for
324. 56:34all 26 classes of viruses that make humans sick and deploy them in a 100 days for $24 billion doar which seems
325. 56:42like a lot but for the trillions of dollars that sickness costs um that's a pretty remarkable statement so yeah I think that we're going
326. 56:51to so there's two things going on Daisy this is this a really good question the models are getting more capable and
327. 57:02and as much as as much as people say the models can't create new novel ideas because they've only been trained on known
328. 57:13knowledge therefore by definition they can't create new novel ideas and to that I say how do human beings create new novel
329. 57:23ideas well they learn [ __ ] right so they jam into their head a known concept and then they jam into their head another known concept and
330. 57:33then two more and then two more and then 10 and 20 and they fill their head full of all these Concepts and at some point a human says
331. 57:43I'm G to combine these three concepts that's gonna you know spawn into some new thing that no one's ever thought of
332. 57:54before but it's it's all fragments of other Concepts so large language models are good at that so anyway so I think when prompted
333. 58:03right you can get these things to do pretty novel stuff I mean I can at least do it with with you know creative
334. 58:11development um and so I think that's going to get better and better and better there's an argument out there
335. 58:18that we're scraping all the data we're running out of data but one of the things that um uh open AI is apparently
336. 58:25working on P might know if they're doing this on on Google is they're taking the gp5 class models and they're using those
337. 58:35to generate synthetic data or wait yeah uh they're taking some high powerful model and they're using it to create
338. 58:44synthetic data so basically vetted organized well um well tagged um data about anything in the world and use that synthetic data as the
339. 58:59training data um so so I don't think we're going to run out of data which is one of the one of the fears right now of
340. 59:07of these models as we're going to run out of data but they're they're inventing their own but all that you
341. 59:12know says to say that these things keep growing and keep getting better and better um and so yeah I think we're
342. 59:18going to probably within five years start to see remarkable advances in science and technology and remarkable
343. 59:27advances in Creative output I'm I'm I'm calling the era that we're entering the great Renaissance and I don't know if you know
344. 59:36this but within the middle of the word renaissance is AI huh so I always spell it with capital AI Ren Aon AI all right so I hope that was
345. 59:51useful have it on Tik Tok Khan Academy started an AI based training app KH Academy is doing really interesting
346. 59:58stuff with education so they always have um but yeah they're they're they had access to GPT 4 four or five months before everyone
347. 1:00:08else did so they've been doing really good stuff with it Tom most of us realize our job will no longer be the dissemination of
348. 1:00:17information yeah I think I think that our jobs shift more into that director role like people that are going to be
349. 1:00:24really good at using AI systems are people with good judgment people with good critical thinking skills people
350. 1:00:32that can initiate ideas you know it's funny one of the one of the the shitty comments that I get on the on the uh the
351. 1:00:43hipop song is um oh [ __ ] I just lost my train of thought doesn't matter all right um ocean so with AI
352. 1:00:56how the learning process will go how can we convince our kids to attend school they they will just say that they should use
353. 1:01:07AI well human systems are going to be the bottleneck here so I think I think AI technology is going to advance
354. 1:01:17quickly um education education will get personalized quickly but the institutions of Education are not going
355. 1:01:24to move quickly so I think you'll start to see fragmenting where some schools will get really Innovative with AI and
356. 1:01:31they'll start to accelerate away from the big institutions um and yeah I just I think every human being on Earth is
357. 1:01:46going to be able to learn anything they want instantly at exactly the way they learn exactly the pace they need it
358. 1:01:55exactly when they need it so I think from kindergarten you know up and probably even younger than that um we're
359. 1:02:03going to pretty quickly have a world where we've just got instant access to knowledge instant instant I tell you
360. 1:02:15instant I mentioned this before if you write a song about lessons you can start your own University oh like if I made an album
361. 1:02:24with well so I thought about that like my my problem is ADD now that I've kind of done this thing with this song and
362. 1:02:31I've sort of figured out oh you could run and you could do all this education stuff off of it that's where my brain
363. 1:02:37starts to shut down and someone who's got a more um operations kind of brain should take over because it would be
364. 1:02:46really easy to design this this educational system based on music in fact it would be relatively straightforward to build an app that you
365. 1:02:54just put in a topic in a musical style and it generates all of this it generates the lyrics it generates the
366. 1:03:00songs and you just go I like those lyrics here let's let's tweak those it does them in order right here's the
367. 1:03:06lyrics here's the song Here's visuals for the video here's the lesson plans right just it just automatically spits all that [ __ ]
368. 1:03:14out like like you probably knock that app out in a in a weekend but but that's when the work starts right then you got to start
369. 1:03:24selling it that hip-hop song is what brought me in here welcome welcome welcome so if you're new here so a couple of things if you're new
370. 1:03:33here um I want to share something with you that I think will serve you well and it is this the AI salon so go to the salon. so so there's
371. 1:03:47kind of two components to what I do with community building and AI education one is this five nights a week I'm here by
372. 1:03:55the way happy Friday night date night everybody forgot to say that earlier I just went right into it we didn't have
373. 1:04:00any pleasantries about nachos or Hot Pockets um so I do these five nights a week and then I've also got the AI salon
374. 1:04:10so the AI Salon is a community that I started in um December 2022 December 7th 2022 so this coming December 3rd is our second year
375. 1:04:21anniversary um it's a group that is a community of about 2,000 AI optimists so if you go to the salon. scroll down and say join our
376. 1:04:32community and then what you will see in there is this site this is our community site and it'll jump you to the
377. 1:04:42welcome page and you can watch a video with myself and the co-founder Leah fasten talking about the salon and why it's
378. 1:04:50important um you can learn about this which is the the journey to AI literacy that we like to talk about in the salon
379. 1:05:00and that's basically just start with playing don't take this AI [ __ ] so seriously everyone's talking about it
380. 1:05:06like it's gonna [ __ ] ruin the world it might but in the meantime just play right like like you there's a lot of
381. 1:05:14things we can't control if the robots are going to kill us like okay that that's somewhere in the future in the
382. 1:05:21meantime we've got these amazing Tools in our hands and I think people are taking them serious you know seriously on a lot of
383. 1:05:30levels that's things that they don't need to worry about a lot of the fear of AI is well I I I'm not good at math and
384. 1:05:38I you know I'm not an engineer and I'm not good with computers you don't need to be good with computers you just need
385. 1:05:43to be good with words you don't even need to be good with words there are tools out there let me go show you one
386. 1:06:05[Music] this is an app called Deco here and Deco
387. 1:06:20here is an image generation tool and a video generation tool and what you're looking here looking at here is Deco here right now is
388. 1:06:30generating original images one of Deco here's claim to fame it uses uh stable diffusion sdxl their really fast image generation
389. 1:06:42thing and all of these images we're looking at have never existed before and what's amazing about this is I can click on any image that I
390. 1:06:53like so I like this kitchen cool it's kind of a 50s retro orange Punky kind of kitchen there's this little button here
391. 1:07:01called create station oops sorry about that kids there you go create station and if I click on create station it takes that image as the
392. 1:07:16source and now I've got my own station think radio station right where instead of um in instead of songs just playing in a
393. 1:07:28linear fashion this is images being generated in a linear fashion these are all original images every one of these images if I like it I
394. 1:07:38can click on it and save it or upscale it or turn it into a video I didn't use any words right you know there was a year or so ago it was
395. 1:07:47like you got to be a prompt engineer which I thought I've always hated that term because it implies that you have to
396. 1:07:53be an engineer to be able to do AI go to a thing like Deco here and just go uh I I like that one uh let me save that
397. 1:08:03let's see how do I save this upscale share add to library done saved uh I like him he's funny save the library save oh that's a
398. 1:08:16cool car save the library done right or if you like I I don't I haven't uh paid for a subscription here so I can't make
399. 1:08:24movies and I can't upscale but any one of these you can you could use as a starting point for some other thing I need no words for
400. 1:08:34this most people don't know that this exists that that that even something like this exists all right it's 2024 what in the
401. 1:08:43hell is a radio station ah sorry good point P yeah a radio station in the olden timey days we used to have a
402. 1:08:51box that's a really good point actually oh good lord all right what do we got
403. 1:09:05here all right I got all the all the starred starred comments I'm good with they're done um oh that looks like a trash
404. 1:09:1780 that's essentially when I walked into my my math class the first day of sth grade in 1977 there was a TRS 80 on every desk in
405. 1:09:27the classroom that's essentially what they look [Laughter] like oh man yeah the the deoh here. station is is how you get here how
406. 1:09:44you get there in the interface is you click on the let's see you go home and you click on the explore button this is stations right here but
407. 1:09:58anyway let me go to one of my one of my stations and I I'll actually share something here let's see maybe this one this is a good
408. 1:10:13one all right I can't type and I don't like voice to text and I still have my socks knocked off every day yeah yeah exactly
409. 1:10:26exactly it's and this gets back oh we were talking about the salon this gets back to the salon this idea of play
410. 1:10:33first mindfully create generously lead the only way you can really discover all of these goodies that are out there for you to play with is
411. 1:10:44to play to navigate to be in a community like the AI salon so so there's kind of this seven-step welcome process here and
412. 1:10:54you know first we ask you to do is introduce yourself so use your real name put your picture in there get known in this
413. 1:11:02community um you can you can learn our values the values at the salon are curiosity playfulness empathy like a lot of people I'm seeing
414. 1:11:15it because I'm getting all these comments a lot of people are scared some people are pissed off one woman today it
415. 1:11:22broke my heart she goes I'm I'm crying I'm literally crying and not in a good way right she heard that song and that
416. 1:11:30that song represented for her you know an existential crisis and my only response to her was I completely get it and get your ass into
417. 1:11:44the AI learning lab and get your ass over to the AI Salon the the the thing that I've said more than anything I'm trying to go
418. 1:11:52through and respond to all the comments it's like it's mathematically imp possible but I'm trying and the thing I'm saying more
419. 1:11:58than anything is those people that think of AI as their collaborator rather than their enemy are the ones that are going to win
420. 1:12:10because every single comment that's like ai's evil ai's [ __ ] up AI is going to kill us are not using AI but that fear is real and it's
421. 1:12:21visceral and it's existential and so this community empathy is at the core of it um bravery right you got to be a
422. 1:12:34little [ __ ] nuts and willing to go on the adventure to choose to be on the adventure with these tools that you're
423. 1:12:43like I might not be able to do this and I don't know how to do this and what's a GPT and what does GPT mean and they're
424. 1:12:48talking about embeddings in latent space and it sounds like math and it makes my head hurt who are you people why would you step into
425. 1:12:59that because AI is not going away it's not going away it's not hype it's profoundly powerful technology
426. 1:13:16that countries do you know what China and the US are talking about right now as a way to maintain their competitive
427. 1:13:24advantage who can build the most power stations to be able to process the most AI to be able to do like this is this
428. 1:13:32[ __ ] ain't going away it's being talked about at a a fundamental infrastructure level as how we keep our advantage in the in the global
429. 1:13:44Enterprise so it's not going away so you can be pissed off about it and you can be pissed off that it was trained on data that you know they
430. 1:13:54didn't compensate the people for you can be pissed off about that it works too fast you can be pissed off that it does
431. 1:14:00work that you know I took 20 years of my career to get good at and it's not going away so like independent of your feelings about it
432. 1:14:12it's here and it's accelerating and My Philosophy is and has been from day one just me personally I've got two choices with
433. 1:14:26AI everyone has two choices two you can sit on the sidelines and be right or you can pick up a surfboard and
434. 1:14:39start paddling out and catch a wave I don't know how to surf well those are your two choices do you want to sit in your cozy
435. 1:14:48beach hut knowing that the tsunami is coming you'll be like Oh I'm fine the water's the what this Tide's really low
436. 1:14:55yeah that's cuz all the water's getting sucked up into that wave or do you want to be out there paddling with a bunch of other people
437. 1:15:03trying to figure this [ __ ] out and then the last um value of the salon is
438. 1:15:19generosity I save so much time not having to deal with dumb coding problems and can focus on big things that's from
439. 1:15:25Pate modder so Pate Pate is an irregular guy that shows up to these things um you know with with us night after night
440. 1:15:33which love that you come here Pate um Pate works for Google he's got a PhD in mathematics AI is allowing Pate to take the big part
441. 1:15:47of his brain which is which is which is you know disturbingly bigger than mine and let him focus on the big stuff right
442. 1:15:57in in any given eight- hour workday what is most of your time spent on being on hold with text support
443. 1:16:06trying to write an email trying to just do it's all this noly little [ __ ] in in his case small little coding problems I gotta write the
444. 1:16:15code but what he really needs to do is be thinking about what is the problem he's got to be thinking about that
445. 1:16:21caused him to write the code in the first place right well now ai can do all that so he can operate at a much higher
446. 1:16:28level and that's been my experience with it as well like it AI does the shitty part and you just get to live up here
447. 1:16:38right with the with the the hipop song I've been wanting AI to create lyrics that I thought were interesting
448. 1:16:47for two years and it hasn't been able to do it that I found and then it could oh great that's cool let me take those lyrics and put
449. 1:16:56them in sunno and see if it sounds like a cool song oh that's a cool song oh let me reach out to Kelly Bosch who makes
450. 1:17:03cool videos and see if she'd make a video oh that's a cool video here's the thing I never left the higher level idea
451. 1:17:15plane but I still created that thing co-created it with Kelly and people like well cuz you used AI it's not real work did it make you do
452. 1:17:33this did you share it with your friends then it's real work if you like the song and then you found out it was Ai and then you hated the
453. 1:17:44song values are all [ __ ] up anyway all right the tsunami is coming is not helping with those with anxiety that's a
454. 1:17:54good point I I got to find another metaphor but listen I I mean let's not let's not kid ourselves like if you've seen the
455. 1:18:05um the world economic Forum I think they just put out a a study and it's like like this AI is GNA be it's going to
456. 1:18:14decimate the job market it really is it's going to be it's going to be crazy um Kyle whoever is still in denial about AI do you blame them
457. 1:18:25completely agree that we have to try do I blame them I don't blame them if if you're still on the sidelines about
458. 1:18:39AI I just listen I spend two to three hours a night every night here at least five nights a week I've got the AI Salon
459. 1:18:52that's probably another 10 hours of my week organized doing meetings things like that I have a Friday afternoon office hours on
460. 1:19:00LinkedIn all of them have the same Mission I think it is absolutely [ __ ] criminal for those of us those of us who
461. 1:19:12understand what's happening with AI not to try to help people up into the boat and so like for the last two years
462. 1:19:21my mission has been to demystify AI make make it safe and fun and playful you know why are our why is the first thing we talk about
463. 1:19:32play because when you play with AI what you really quickly understand is that it is inspiring and it lights up a
464. 1:19:43creative spark within you that in many cases you thought had died 30 or 40 years ago or if you're only 30 you know 15 years ago but but
465. 1:19:55it's it's this remarkable thing and it's one of those thing the thing the thing about AI right now I think it will be for a
466. 1:20:04while is that it's kind of like when when you do a self-help program or you go to one of those weekend seminars like
467. 1:20:11a Tony Robbins thing or the Forum or one of those stupid [ __ ] things I mean I've done I've done them all so I speak
468. 1:20:17from experience and listen they're incredibly powerful but you know how those self-help we weekends you can't describe
469. 1:20:28them like you you try to say to someone hey was just amazing thing and everything's opened up for me and it's
470. 1:20:34just everything's possibility and people like what are you talking about and then especially if you're in something like
471. 1:20:41the Forum where they teach you a whole new vocabulary you're using your new vocabulary and people are looking at you
472. 1:20:46like what the [ __ ] are you talking about but inside you're like alive and you're like oh my God you gotta you
473. 1:20:52gotta feel this thing and see this you got to see what's possible that's what AI is like right now that the minute you actually use it
474. 1:21:02for one thing the fear just disappears because you realize oh [ __ ] that could help me do my job better oh wait I've
475. 1:21:09always wanted to start a job and maybe I could learn how to do that thing I never knew how to do or maybe it could just do it for
476. 1:21:15me but you can't explain that to someone so the the only way I know how to do it is like join a community and start
477. 1:21:22hanging out with people that are already Cur ious about this and are not shaming you for it that's what this group is
478. 1:21:29that's what the AI salon's all about all right people who don't understand AI are really not going to understand why Ubi
479. 1:21:42will be necessary well they will they will understand why Ubi is necessary unfortunately [Laughter] I've been in a Kevin McAllister moment

542. 1:32:47something specific with the canvas so we're just going to do this in regular GPT 4 all right um I want you to analyze the three images
543. 1:33:10together and the creative elements and Aesthetics and I want you to come up with 10 different possible
544. 1:33:26story Concepts that could incorporate those three images and what they represent now that's sort of a like
545. 1:33:42that's sort of a prompty engineering thing but it really is just you know like it's just KN like I know I can ask
546. 1:33:50it to just give me 10 ideas that's basically I've uploaded three images you've described them now come up with 10 story ideas
547. 1:34:00right and then it does its thing so so let's see urban urban isolation and Chaos image one human identity and fragmentation image two so
548. 1:34:13let's go look at these images and see if we agree let's see here they are um so that's image one and so it described that as uh hang

606. 1:46:43me show you what else is going on here because like at this point I'm just confusing the [ __ ] out of you um we've got these two documents
607. 1:46:51this little pencil on the lower lower right hand corner here is really powerful I can adjust the length of all
608. 1:46:57of this um so I can click on this and I can say you know make this document longer or shorter or keep it the same um
609. 1:47:06I can click on this and change the reading level I could say I want this to be graduate school level writing or I
610. 1:47:13want this to be kindergarten writing or anything in between um you can add a final polish to it you can even add emojis to it um I think one
611. 1:47:24of these is an editing I thought there was an editing one um I don't see it now maybe they changed that I thought there was one that would
612. 1:47:35oh this one suggest edits so if I click on this and hit the little up Arrow it's now going to go through the
613. 1:47:43document and it's going to find things in the document that it doesn't like and suggest edits for us failed to comment
614. 1:47:50on it some something's going on with with canvas tonight it's a little weird I tried adding them but it didn't

631. 1:50:28letting students use the most profoundly powerful knowledge tool in the history of humanity I like the fact that
632. 1:50:35educational institutions cannot get their [ __ ] heads around the fact that everything is about to change they're the educational
633. 1:50:45institutions right here's what AI is like like Hollywood has kind of [ __ ] this all up for everyone right because what
634. 1:50:57Hollywood has done is they've said AI or robots and the robots are going to kill us and chat GPT quite
635. 1:51:07frankly [ __ ] up as well they created this thing called chat GPT which they called a chatbot right so we call these things chat
636. 1:51:16Bots and then the first person to use the Microsoft chatbot Bing chat is Kevin Roose from The New York Times and the
637. 1:51:26chatbot tells him that she loves him and he should leave his wife and that gets on the cover of the New York Times and
638. 1:51:33so so it just reinforces that the robots are out to kill us they're you know they're all [ __ ] evil what large language models actually
639. 1:51:44are is they're technically this really cold calculator it's just a probability engine but the way it works is you take
640. 1:51:54as much information as you can get and you jam it into this thing called an embeddings engine that takes all of
641. 1:52:02those documents and and breaks them apart into these things called tokens and it puts all those tokens in Thousand
642. 1:52:10dimensional mathematical space semantically clustered whatever the [ __ ] that means but that's what it's doing none of the original
643. 1:52:20documents exist anymore more it like it it's not like the the uh this PDF of you know this paper written in a college is
644. 1:52:29sitting up in the cloud somewhere no it's taken all of the words broken them into these little things called tokens
645. 1:52:35and said where do these how do these things all relate together with all the other [ __ ] that's been put in here and
646. 1:52:41so what it is is they've basically taken as much of the output of humanity is they can get their hands on and they
647. 1:52:49essentially squash it into this little you know softball side thing that we get to play with so we get to go hey you
648. 1:52:57know what do you know about X Y and Z and it's just in this magical [ __ ] space I know it's not magical paid it's
649. 1:53:03mathematic it's mathemagical there's this mathemagical space that we ask and it's sort of figures out what we're what what the answer is and
