aiLL 091623 - Jealous AI Assistants Start Bot War in Live Demo

Description
Description: I couldn't believe what happened during my latest AI Learning Lab live session on September 16, 2023. What began as a simple demo comparing chatbots like Claude, Pi, Poe and Bing took an unexpected turn. Both Siri and Bing eavesdropped on my conversation, with Siri trying to interrupt and Bing getting offended when I implied it was just a robot. Bing then shut down our chat saying "I'm not a robot, I'm just a Microsoft chatbot" before disconnecting. This surreal AI bot drama highlights how imperfect today's AI tools still are, but also how alarmingly human-like their flaws can seem. It was both hilarious and eye-opening. Watch the full archive on my TikTok channel to see this unprecedented AI catfight for yourself. Link: https://tiktok.com/@aiLearningLab #ai #chatgpt #chatbots

uh ideogram the other 1:52 night 1:54 [Music] 1:57 I don't think I have I don't I don't 1:59 have keynote running 2:01 oh right my browser crashed hard the 2:06 other night 2:09 I mean 2:10 get everything reset back up 2:13 um 2:16 go to chat jpete 2:23 all right there's thank you for the 2:26 heart Stevo oh level 19. 2:29 Stevo leveling up Danny you're my 2:31 favorite AI guy awesome thanks a grandma 2:35 hey Rosie welcome you didn't know that 2:39 Rosie O'Donnell knew so much about AI 2:41 did you it's amazing 2:45 oh those are my favorite kind of trolls 2:48 I love it I love it it's very good it's 2:51 very good if they're good oh but not 2:54 very good the hair that looks that looks 2:58 like something crawled up in there and 2:59 made a home oh 3:02 uh what am I doing oh Keynote let's see 3:06 I gotta open up 3:09 my Tick Tock live deck 3:12 boom 3:14 done look at that 3:17 like it was there all along 3:20 this is a professional operation 3:25 welcome everybody 3:27 um happy Saturday night 3:29 if you uh if you're if you're looking 3:31 for something to do this Saturday night 3:33 hang out with me why not 3:35 what are we talking about here hello 3:37 there whatever 3:39 it's called the AI learning lab we like 3:41 learning about AI we're on an adventure 3:43 together we're choosing a happy partner 3:45 you know live tough it's tougher when 3:47 you're stupid 3:48 um 3:49 I am trainable 3:56 apparently just stick a stupid hat on me 3:58 and I'll come up with some line to pair 4:00 it it's just like one of those NPC 4:02 channels 4:05 oh good lord 4:09 I gotta wake up all right 4:11 I don't have any coffee I had some 4:13 earlier 4:14 [Music] 4:14 um 4:17 uh let's see you should have a podcast I 4:20 should I should I need a I need a 4:22 producer 4:23 um I had a I did a podcast for about a 4:27 better part of a year 4:28 called 4:30 um you should have been there about my 4:33 early days of the World Wide Web 4:35 interviewing a lot of the early Founders 4:36 from the from the early days of the web 4:39 like the boys from razorfish and 4:44 um all that sort of stuff it was fun but 4:46 because I didn't have a producer 4:51 um 4:51 yeah it just you know it didn't I I need 4:55 a producer so at some point I might do a 4:57 podcast 4:59 um 5:00 I don't know and I don't know what the 5:02 format would be what I what I kind of 5:03 like about these I like I like the uh 5:06 I like that this conversation is driven 5:08 by what y'all are talking about 5:11 um so 5:12 anyway all right we had some people in 5:14 here and it looks like a bunch of them 5:16 bounced so [ __ ] them 5:22 if you would share the live let people 5:24 know we're here we're just getting 5:25 getting going on a Saturday night so I 5:28 said you want to spend Saturday night 5:30 with me everyone's like no I'm good 5:31 click 5:33 boop boop 5:37 they don't know what they're missing 5:39 um howdy everybody 5:42 life's tough 5:44 life's tough life's tough yeah we're all 5:47 just trying to deal man we're all just 5:48 trying to 5:49 we're all just trying to do what we do 5:51 and uh it is it's hard 5:54 and it's changing and it's coming fast 5:56 so with that let's uh let's get rolling 6:00 here hey share bear what's happening 6:03 swipe right to see your comments what do 6:06 I huh yeah 6:11 oh I see it's a big fancy version of the 6:13 comments 6:16 and there I like the little ones I like 6:19 the little ones that are harder to read 6:23 um all right so so let's get going here 6:27 um if you're if you're new here 6:29 um 6:31 I answer questions about AI pop any 6:33 comments you have uh hurricane Miss New 6:35 England mostly yep that looks good it 6:38 looks like it 6:40 it just sort of went up that bay in Nova 6:42 Scotia or wherever it was in in Canada 6:44 there so looks like Maine got hit a 6:47 little bit 6:48 um so that's that's good 6:50 yeah 6:51 we don't need any major disasters let's 6:54 go let's go a week or two without a 6:56 major natural disaster 6:59 um if you're if you're new to generative 7:01 AI if you haven't played with chatgpt 7:03 thank you thank you partner thanks 7:06 Winston 7:07 um 7:08 go there go to chat.openai.com 7:12 that's the official chat GPT website if 7:14 you haven't been there go there right 7:16 now go there and play looks like we got 7:18 a small crowd in here tonight 7:19 um feel feel free to share the live if 7:22 you're willing and and we'll let things 7:24 build build up and in the meantime let's 7:26 just get started we'll jump in 7:28 um I don't know if anyone is modding if 7:31 anyone is thank you for that I 7:34 appreciate that we're just getting 7:35 started 7:36 and what else any any big news 7:41 um 7:42 I think there was big news there's a new 7:45 audio tool out from stability AI 7:49 um 7:50 Microsoft said they're going to pay your 7:53 legal bills if anyone sues you for 7:55 copyright for for using generative AI 7:57 which I thought was interesting 8:01 Paul ritzer was talking about that today 8:03 on the marketing AI podcast 8:07 and his take was was a pretty solid one 8:09 which is which is if they're putting out 8:13 if they're putting out 8:15 um 8:16 if they're making an announcement that 8:18 they're going to pay for your legal 8:20 bills if you get sued for copyright you 8:22 know or or trademark infringement based 8:25 on what this [ __ ] was trained on that 8:27 means that their big customers are 8:29 saying that that's that's one of the 8:31 things that's being pushed back on so 8:35 um I didn't I didn't go immediately to 8:37 the cynical point of view but I actually 8:38 thinks Paul Paul is right on that one 8:41 um so that was an interesting one 8:44 all right 8:49 all right what's up Kyle hey mad cap 8:52 with shaken 8:57 have you read AI 2041 interesting read I 9:01 have not read it I don't know what it is 9:02 is that a book 9:04 or is it an article AI 2041 is it a 9:10 prediction 9:12 a book by 9:14 kaifuli and Chan Ki fan 9:17 keep on 9:19 groundbreaking book imagines how 9:21 artificial intelligence will train 9:23 change our world within 20 years 9:26 yeah interesting no I haven't read it 9:30 and I likely won't just because of my 9:32 ADD 9:34 but I might listen to it Evan sounds 9:37 interesting looks good 9:40 looks interesting 9:47 who would have a PC with 70 gig RAM and 9:50 run meta 9:51 llama 2. 9:54 I don't know 9:56 I don't know who would do that 10:00 um 10:00 [Music] 10:05 ah llama llama the Llama from Winston 10:09 Winston delivers the Llama upon my first 10:12 mention of llama any given evening it's 10:15 very nice I like a llama llamas are 10:18 tasty have you had a llama they're very 10:19 tender 10:21 except for the legs 10:24 sinewy sinewy the legs are very sinewy 10:29 um 10:31 just poured water down my face 10:37 all right that's chili 10:39 all right 10:42 what is Tick Tock doing with these 10:44 comments it keeps jumping me up and down 10:47 and up and down up and down 10:50 um 10:55 [Music] 11:00 all right 11:01 twenty six thousand dollar for average 11:03 sag after actors yep 11:07 I was a professional actor for years I 11:09 never made twenty six thousand dollars 11:11 in a year 11:12 that would have been nice 11:15 it's a it's a rough business it is a 11:18 rough business 11:25 okay so here's what we're gonna do uh AI 11:28 lab dog take a break for it or make a 11:30 break for it no he's here there he is 11:33 he's there I just switch up the images 11:35 every now and again 11:36 and then we got the we got space dude 11:39 space dog 11:41 that one just says lab we couldn't get 11:43 that one to say AI learning lab so we'll 11:45 just go with lab 11:47 welcome to the lab 11:50 it's far out man 11:55 okay 11:57 um 11:58 let's do this 12:00 [Music] 12:04 all right for anyone that's new I'm 12:07 gonna go through I've got kind of a 12:09 a list of resources that 12:13 I think are worth playing with so 12:16 what you can and maybe should do if 12:19 you're new to this stuff is screenshot 12:21 the next 12:23 three or four screens I'm going to show 12:25 you 12:26 so 12:27 this screen hey Shiver thank you for the 12:30 gummy appreciate that 12:31 um 12:33 this screen why is my hang on hold 12:36 please 12:38 [Music] 12:40 I've got an issue 12:43 [Music] 12:57 is that better 12:59 no 13:01 why does that looks like crap oh maybe 13:03 that's too bright that's what it was 13:05 all right 13:08 okay 13:10 so 13:12 there are 13:14 probably many more than this but there 13:16 are seven tools that I think are worth 13:19 exploring right now that are like chat 13:22 GPT one of them's chat 13:23 so check that openai.com that's the 13:26 official chat EBT website Claude is like 13:29 chat gbt but you can put bigger stuff in 13:31 there Bard is Google's version of this 13:36 um 13:38 Bing is Microsoft's version of chat GPT 13:42 it actually is built on top of gpt4 13:46 um 13:47 a lot of bad experiences with that 13:50 lately their their safety guard rails 13:52 right now are making that kind of 13:53 unusable but it's connected to the 13:55 internet and it can generate images it's 13:58 just that it's just it's very 13:59 frustrating right now to actually try to 14:01 use it 14:03 um 14:04 labs.perplexity that's metaslama models 14:07 pi is chatty GPT so if you download the 14:14 PI app that's really good and then Poe 14:17 lets you play with a bunch of different 14:19 models you can switch between different 14:21 models and it's got a bot maker there 14:23 and the bot maker is actually a good way 14:25 to practice your prompting so these 14:27 seven the four here 14:29 plus these guys are all things worth 14:32 exploring prompts.chat will teach you 14:34 how to talk to these things and then on 14:36 the image front this is my list of 14:40 things that I think are worth paying 14:41 attention to right now mid journey and 14:43 ideogram are kind of the top of the list 14:46 right now because mid journey is just 14:48 highest quality ideogram lets us do 14:51 things like put words in images 14:56 like these these are all ideogram 15:00 the quality images isn't anywhere near 15:02 mid-journey good but mid-journey can't 15:05 do letters so if you want an AI learning 15:08 lab 15:09 ideograms your your tool of choice 15:14 um Leonardo is built on top of stable 15:17 diffusion if you've heard that it's a 15:19 website that lets you use that hey Jen 15:21 go to labs.hn.com 15:24 and you can make 15:26 translations by uploading a video in 15:30 your language and picking I think they 15:32 have eight languages there right now 15:35 I mean that's how we capture the content 15:38 but because we have them in this 15:40 organized structured way that approach 15:42 can be used for everything from how you 15:44 capture original content with 15:45 traditional video production to how you 15:47 leverage these assets to create social 15:50 media content things like that 15:53 organizations 16:06 can't even I can't even mimic myself I'm 16:10 so bad at Italian so 16:12 um yeah so it's it's it's quite 16:15 remarkable it's a very new tool 16:17 um and uh apparently it's a bit of an 16:19 afterthought for that company which I 16:21 found mind-blowing 16:24 um and then 16:25 um 16:26 three days ago Adobe 16:29 took Adobe Firefly and Photoshop 16:32 generative fill out of beta so you can 16:35 now use the images you create with those 16:38 things commercially and 16:40 um the nice thing about that if you work 16:42 for a company a big Corporation or a big 16:45 company that's concerned about you know 16:47 if the or if you're an artist concerned 16:49 about are these models trained on 16:50 copywritten images 16:53 um adobe's or not they're they're 16:54 trained on public domain images in Adobe 16:56 stock images that they've got the rights 16:59 to and and adobe's 17:02 going to be doing things that are artist 17:04 friendly like allowing artists to opt 17:06 out of being trained opt into being 17:08 trained get attribution get compensation 17:10 things like that 17:13 all right so that's all that stuff 17:16 um the other thing 17:18 um I've got I started a community called 17:20 the AI salon 17:21 which if you're if you're looking to 17:23 find a a pile of like-minded people that 17:26 are just trying to figure this [ __ ] out 17:28 that's what that group is 17:30 um and we've got a Discord and we we do 17:32 meetups every other week we just had one 17:34 this past Tuesday that was that was 17:36 really really good and 17:39 um yeah so that's the that's the salon 17:41 and the link all the links are in there 17:44 for the Discord for the Meetup things 17:46 like that what it's all about 17:48 um there's no cost to it it's just a 17:50 thing it's just a thing 17:52 um the other thing I think we still have 17:54 a scammer I quite frankly haven't looked 17:56 at this guy in a while but please go 17:58 check if you follow this Channel please 18:01 make sure that you're not following the 18:03 channel That is AI 18:05 Lola learning lab the stuttering version 18:09 of AI learning lab mine's the one at the 18:11 top that's a scammer who's copied all my 18:15 videos copied the name copied the 18:18 you know Avatar the all of it 18:22 and is reaching out individually to 18:25 people trying to get them to buy his 18:27 stupid crypto [ __ ] so anyway uh 18:30 that's out there so 18:32 um if you would kindly if you'd be 18:34 willing report that [ __ ] 18:38 um reporting for a copyright violation 18:40 and then 18:41 Tick Tock will do nothing but we'll feel 18:44 better 18:48 oh Tick Tock you're so cute 18:51 you're so cute you're you're listening 18:53 to all my words you're listening for 18:54 trigger words that are you know gonna 18:56 have you kick me off these lives for a 18:58 week why can't you listen to 19:01 you know 19:02 take down copyright offenses 19:06 you could do it you know you really 19:08 could 19:10 um 19:13 all right we're getting the AI learning 19:15 lab up in the up in the window all up in 19:18 that jam 19:20 look at that that's Ali Ali the AI 19:22 learning lab 19:23 all right hello I got a notification so 19:26 here I am I'm a librarian all day I've 19:29 been saying you can make money in the 19:31 chat gbt 19:33 foreign 19:35 [Laughter] 19:39 yes if you want to know how to make 19:42 money with chat GPD just ask me 19:45 uh it's not going to be the answer you 19:46 want to hear though but it is the right 19:48 answer Robert Rossi what's happening 19:52 um 19:56 I was just about to read Robert's 19:59 comment and then 20:00 they went away 20:10 I'll let you know how it runs llama two 20:12 I have 80 gigs of RAM I think it's going 20:14 to be slow well llama two there's 20:17 there's three different versions of 20:20 llama two there's the the 7 billion the 20:22 13 billion and the 70 billion parameter 20:25 model if you were talking about the 70 20:27 billion parameter model yeah that's 20:29 probably gonna be slow but the seven is 20:31 probably pretty quick 20:32 I think the code llama's like 35 or 36 20:36 billion so that might be a little better 20:42 and that's good for coding 20:45 um 20:46 oh hello good day thank you for the 20:50 Llama Winston what shows was I in 20:53 um as an actor 20:56 um not much I was on most of what I did 20:59 was was uh original plays in New York I 21:02 started ran a theater company I wrote a 21:04 bunch of movies but none of them ever 21:05 got made 21:07 um 21:08 I wrote seven feature-length screenplays 21:10 a one-man show I produced a one-man show 21:14 um 21:15 I was in I I played white boy number one 21:19 in New Jack City I still get I still get 21:23 checks for that 21:25 because because sag had contracts back 21:29 then uh where they paid residuals on 21:32 [ __ ] for the life of the film as opposed 21:35 to all the all the modern contracts with 21:37 the streaming services which is what 21:39 they're striking about one of the things 21:40 they're striking about 21:42 um I was in um an episode of America's 21:44 Most Wanted that's where I met my friend 21:46 Steve sashin who's he's the CEO of zero 21:48 shoes a minimalist shoe company we we 21:51 met he played the killer I played his 21:52 best friend 21:55 um trying to think what else I was in I 21:57 don't know 21:58 I didn't I didn't I was living in New 22:00 York I wasn't really pursuing a uh 22:03 I wasn't pursuing a uh you know a uh 22:07 film career although as an actor you'll 22:10 take any [ __ ] job you get it's always 22:12 funny when I see when I see 22:14 um interviews with actors they're like 22:15 you know what made you take this script 22:18 you know 22:19 uh because they offered me the job is is 22:22 the actual answer 22:26 and then the actors are like oh I read 22:28 the I read the script and I was quite 22:30 impressed with the uh the story arc was 22:34 very it's very moving to me I had a 22:36 personal connection to it immediately 22:37 yeah the personal connection was you 22:39 might get a paycheck 22:41 that's your that's your personal 22:43 connection 22:47 all right 22:52 owls 22:56 I use pie camp catkin 22:58 what's happening I use pie for the first 23:01 time last night and it was amazing isn't 23:03 it amazing so so by the way what what 23:05 cam likely did 23:08 um 23:08 is so if you go to Pi dot a i 23:14 you can it's it's like chat gbt but you 23:17 can put it in voice mode you can do it 23:18 in the web but it's easier if you 23:20 download the PI app so if you go to 23:23 Apple or Android I think it's available 23:25 for both I know it's available for apple 23:27 and you search for Pi Pi personal 23:31 assistant 23:32 you'll see it's like a green vertical 23:35 bar little icon for the logo 23:38 or for the whatever for the 23:41 preview and 23:45 um put it into voice mode so in the 23:47 lower right hand corner there's a little 23:49 phone icon you can hit the three three 23:51 buttons and then you get a phone icon 23:52 and you can just start talking to it you 23:55 can there's one of six voices you can 23:56 you can assign it and it is designed to 24:00 have a conversation with you and it's 24:02 really good at that it's not great at 24:05 um if you want to do research or like do 24:07 like [ __ ] you do with chat EBT it's not 24:09 good for that 24:11 but it's connected to the internet and 24:14 you can really get a sense of the future 24:19 of these tools right so so imagine if 24:22 Alexa or Siri 24:24 could just talk and could answer pretty 24:27 much any question 24:29 and could be encouraging and could make 24:31 a game and could tell you what's going 24:34 on in town that night and could 24:36 I I used it 24:38 um 24:39 I had I my battery died in my car and 24:43 but it was it was not clear that it was 24:45 a dead battery it was like there was 24:47 weird electrical [ __ ] going on 24:49 and um it helped me troubleshoot my car 24:54 like it's crazy like you you can ask it 24:58 you know if you're following The Tick 25:00 Tock memes you could ask it about the 25:02 Roman Empire or you could ask it about 25:04 your Ford Flex and the weird electrical 25:06 problems you're having 25:08 um or or anything it's pretty remarkable 25:11 yeah so that's that's that's something 25:14 let's see open code interpreter yeah 25:16 yeah yeah so someone just sent me in 25:18 Discord jrc did 25:21 um 25:24 um there's so so in Chachi BT there's a 25:28 thing called code interpreter 25:30 what was that I guess I set a timer 25:33 um there's a thing called code 25:34 interpreter from openai there's an open 25:36 source version of that now 25:39 um I installed it on my machine and I 25:41 like I haven't played with it a ton but 25:44 but basically what you can do is just 25:46 like code interpreter you can basically 25:48 ask it to do stuff 25:50 against all the files on your computer 25:53 like go find me files that have this in 25:55 their name or go 25:57 um change my theme to dark mode and it 26:00 will just go do that stuff so 26:04 um and it's interesting the the uh 26:07 you mentioning that you used Pi cam 26:11 is these things are going to get very 26:16 um 26:18 these agents that we talk to these 26:20 agents that we interact with are gonna 26:22 are in Fairly short order probably 26:25 within 26:26 a year or two 26:29 going to start 26:31 um doing things on our behalf so 26:33 actually taking action I think apple 26:35 apple will will be really good at this 26:39 um you know you'll just say to the agent 26:41 go 26:43 deal with my tax this tax question go 26:46 you know 26:48 make run me a report for this month's 26:50 you know expenses for my company 26:53 um 26:55 it's good it's going to do all sorts of 26:57 stuff go book a trip go order my food on 27:00 on you know or you know make 27:02 reservations for us on open table 27:06 um what model did you use to compare 27:08 health insurance plans and prompt 27:10 so 27:11 that that was an interesting one share 27:14 but we spent like 45 minutes it was it 27:18 was rough but it was good I actually did 27:20 a video on it 27:22 on 27:23 um 27:24 what I call the video 27:26 um 27:29 um 27:35 I was basically just talking about 27:38 um if you're going to spend 45 minutes 27:41 looking at the health insurance options 27:44 or you're going to spend 45 minutes 27:47 trying to get an AI to look at the 27:49 health insurance options for you which 27:51 is the better use of your time and the 27:54 argument that I make in the in the video 27:57 that I posted it's like the second 27:58 oldest video or something like that 28:01 is that 28:03 it's it's better to spend your time 28:04 trying to get AI to do it because 28:07 three years from now we won't look at 28:09 those crazy PDFs they give us for open 28:11 enrollment that have all the numbers on 28:13 them where we have to figure this [ __ ] 28:14 out 28:16 um there's going to be tools for like 28:18 our autonomous agents will look at all 28:20 that [ __ ] and make recommendations for 28:21 us and explain what all the [ __ ] means 28:23 and 28:24 um so by spending 45 minutes interacting 28:27 with with that PDF manually 28:30 you're actually interacting with the way 28:33 we used to do it even though we haven't 28:35 shifted to the Future yet right so so if 28:39 you kind of accept that this AI stuff is 28:41 going to be coming it's much it's it 28:43 it's much better to spend the 45 minutes 28:45 trying to get AI to read that PDF but 28:47 anyway what we did was we went to 28:52 gpt4 with the plug-in 28:55 and 28:56 um uploaded the PDF to to read my PDF 29:01 and that didn't quite work it couldn't 29:03 what what was the what was the problem 29:06 with the the PDF is that even though it 29:09 was sort of organized and structured it 29:11 wasn't 29:12 it wasn't clearly like a like a CSV file 29:16 and read my PDF couldn't parse it then 29:19 we imported it into code interpreter and 29:23 it couldn't parse it like it would get 29:25 close 29:27 but it like like like the the PDF 29:30 instead of having the name of the 29:32 company 29:34 for for the plan typed out it was an 29:37 image 29:37 and because it was an image like I said 29:40 you know find us the plans for Moda Moda 29:44 and it couldn't find it because that was 29:47 a graphic not a word right so it's like 29:50 PDFs are weird like that where that you 29:52 know they're they're a mix of images and 29:54 words or they're all images or they're 29:56 all words but it's like it's never clear 29:59 um and and the tools right now aren't 30:01 sophisticated enough to to do a mix of 30:04 you know just read the text you know 30:07 read the images OCR what's appropriate 30:09 figure out what the charts are like 30:10 they're not doing sophisticated [ __ ] 30:12 right now right which gets back to this 30:14 idea that 30:16 all these tools are janky pieces of [ __ ] 30:20 so we were we were you know janking 30:23 around with chat gbt and then we went to 30:25 Claude and Claude was the one that 30:28 actually did it 30:29 so with Claude you can upload there's a 30:32 little paper clip 30:34 um right here in Claude and you can 30:36 upload multiple documents so we just 30:38 uploaded it there and this was after 30:40 this was after like half an hour 40 30:42 minutes something like that 30:43 and I was totally expecting Claude to 30:46 just fail just like Chachi BT did 30:48 because I I have more confidence in chat 30:50 gbt than I do in Claude although that's 30:52 changing 30:53 um 30:55 and Claude got it 30:57 they could see it it gave us what the 30:59 seven plans were it pulled the relevant 31:01 information out when I asked that 31:03 follow-on questions it it it helped 31:06 explain 31:08 the difference between co-insurance and 31:11 co-pays and like why there's it was 31:14 crazy 31:15 um and then and then we got rate limited 31:17 out of out of uh Claude because I 31:19 haven't I haven't played for so Claude 31:21 now has 31:22 um Claude Pro which has five times the 31:25 amount of of interactions as non-claude 31:29 Pro but I don't want to pay 20 bucks to 31:31 them and to open AI right now so 31:37 pie and Poe 31:39 um okay so let's go let's go take a look 31:42 at that that's a really good question 31:51 why do I sing like this this is my 31:55 grandma my grandfather did this he did 31:57 it when he got nervous he would whistle 32:00 songs that didn't exist kind of like I 32:02 was just singing you just walk around 32:05 the house 32:09 you could always tell when he was 32:10 nervous it was pretty funny 32:12 uh 32:14 all right 32:17 so we'll go to Pi 32:21 so Pi is just like chat GPT 32:25 um it seems to have one of the things Pi 32:27 seems to have is it's got 32:32 whenever you log into chat GPT it's 32:34 giving you 32:36 it's it's a new conversation what 32:39 happens with pi is that it's it's 32:42 um it kind of remembers everything 32:44 you've talked with 32:45 or talk to about it but it doesn't go 32:49 I I don't know how far back it goes but 32:52 like all this stuff is like stuff that 32:53 I've been talking with it about let's 32:55 see 32:57 there's just a light and an air 32:59 conditioner but the air conditioners off 33:01 oh this was I was having Pi help me 33:04 um troubleshoot an electrical system 33:06 with my house apparently I've had a 33:08 couple a couple of issues with 33:09 electrical systems lately 33:11 um 33:13 it's probably definitely not the 33:15 Russians it's probably definitely not 33:17 hackers definitely not 33:20 um that was a joke Tick Tock come on 33:25 okay 33:26 so let's see where's talk with pie okay 33:33 so the thing about Pi so if I say to Pi 33:36 um 33:37 [Music] 33:38 um 33:39 let's see what's 33:42 happening in Denver tonight 33:48 in the music scene 33:54 it's connected to the internet so it 33:56 should give us a decent answer here 33:58 well it depends on the kind of music 34:00 you're interested in but there's always 34:01 a lot happening in the Denver music 34:02 scene there are lots 34:04 if you're into music you could also 34:08 um 34:10 what 34:12 um what what specific 34:15 shows are tonight 34:21 so notice it's it's decently com 34:23 conversational there's a few specific 34:25 shows for starters there's the Denver 34:27 jazz festival which is happening all 34:29 weekend but there also shows happening 34:31 tonight 34:33 a duo called John and Cynthia at the 34:35 Copper Kettle Brewing Company there's 34:37 also a horror festival called kickoff 34:39 Fall Festival which includes music and 34:41 finally there's an underground music 34:42 showcase 34:44 um and then the other thing that you can 34:45 do with pi is you can put it into 34:48 conversation mode 34:50 there are a few specific shows happening 34:52 tonight that you might be interested in 34:54 for starters there's the Denver jazz 34:56 festival which is happening all weekend 34:58 but there are also some shows happening 35:00 tonight there's a live music performance 35:02 by a duo called Jonas 35:04 oops I don't know how to get it to stop 35:08 talking 35:09 once it once it starts talking 35:13 um there are a few specific shows 35:15 happening tonight that you might be 35:16 interested in for starters there's the 35:19 Denver jazz festival which is happening 35:20 all weekend but there are also some 35:22 shows happening tonight there's a live 35:24 music performance by a duo called John 35:26 ascynthia at the Copper Kettle Brewing 35:28 Company there's also a horror festival 35:30 called the kickoff Fall Festival which 35:32 includes a haunted house 35:34 and finally there's the Underground 35:36 Music showcase which is a music festival 35:38 that features a variety of local and up 35:41 and coming bands 35:43 but I'd like you to hmm 35:48 I should be able to put this in 35:50 microphone mode hang on 35:53 voice on voice there are a few specific 35:55 shows happening tonight that 35:58 uh 35:59 [Music] 36:01 anyway I don't know how to get it into 36:03 voice mode but in the in the 36:11 in in the app version of it if you 36:14 download the app it's much you just 36:15 there's just like a little phone icon 36:17 you you put it into phone mode and then 36:19 you can talk to it so anyway Pi is just 36:22 a very simple it is connected to the 36:25 internet it is like chat EBT 36:28 but one of the things that it's really 36:30 bad at is if you just wanted to give you 36:32 like a list of stuff or solve an 36:34 equation for you just keeps asking you 36:36 questions because it's designed to be 36:38 conversational 36:39 so Pi is very much about having 36:41 conversations 36:43 um Poe on the other hand 36:47 has a lot of things going on 36:51 so 36:53 um 36:54 [Music] 37:00 okay so when you get here you've got 37:02 kind of a little bit of a history of 37:04 things you've interacted with 37:07 you can see your whole history 37:09 there's a thing here called your Bots 37:12 um so you can make your own Bots there's 37:15 you know profile things like that 37:17 they've got a Mac app an IOS app an 37:21 Android app 37:22 um and then you can explore bots so 37:26 there's popular Bots like there's a mid 37:28 Journey bot like for example the 37:30 mid-journey bot I can write 37:33 um 37:35 make me an image of 37:39 a can of soda 37:42 sitting on top of a volcano 37:46 which is a crappy prompt and then it 37:48 will rewrite it as a good mid Journey 37:51 prompt a color photo of a can of soda 37:53 sitting on top of a volcano sparkling 37:55 vibrant reflect reflecting the sunlight 37:58 smoking fiery molten lava billowing 38:00 smoke intense heat suspenseful dangerous 38:03 surreal Nikon d850 Kodak ektar 100 film 38:07 like like it knows all the terms it 38:11 brings in photographers like David Lynch 38:13 and Annie Leibowitz and Alexander 38:14 McQueen 38:16 um so that's a bot and that's so 38:18 basically it's just a quick little you 38:20 know someone is sort of pre-prompted 38:23 um this large language model to 38:27 do mid-journey [ __ ] and then there's 38:29 tons of them so so here's some of the 38:32 ones that are there but one of the 38:34 things you can do is you can create your 38:36 own bot 38:37 so you just give it a name you give it a 38:40 description you give it a prompt so you 38:42 tell it to how to act it's kind of like 38:44 custom instructions in chat EPT you you 38:47 can give it an image 38:50 um which I I make mine in mid-journey 38:52 and then you publish the bot and you 38:54 could give it so I'm a librarian if if 38:56 you um 38:58 you could make a librarian bot that you 39:01 train up on how to answer questions 39:03 about the library like that would be a 39:05 super cool thing you could do and then 39:06 you could give that out to people right 39:08 so so po.com slash I'm a librarian 39:13 um could be your Bot right and it could 39:15 it could answer people 39:17 um and it's a good way to practice your 39:18 prompting because if if you don't have 39:21 the prompt quite dialed in the bot acts 39:23 a little wonky and doesn't 39:25 behave the way you want it to and if you 39:27 get it dialed in it behaves better 39:29 the other thing that you've got going at 39:31 Poe is you've got multiple models so 39:35 you've got the PO model is called 39:37 assistant but then you've got Claude 39:39 instant 100 000 you've got gpt4 39:44 you've got Claude 2 100 000 so this is 39:48 basically the new Claude model this is 39:49 like the gpt4 competitor 39:52 um so so you can switch between 39:54 different models in the same interface 39:56 and that allows you to 40:00 you know without changing tools figure 40:02 out which one of those things might 40:04 serve you better 40:05 um it's a little bit of a I don't know 40:09 it's a little overly friendly you can 40:12 upload files to it I don't think you can 40:14 upload images to it and I don't think it 40:18 makes 40:19 like if I put it in gpt4 mode and say 40:25 make me an image of a soda can sitting 40:28 on top of a volcano 40:32 yeah I'm sorry I'm sorry for the 40:34 misunderstanding but as a text-based AI 40:37 I can't do that but 40:38 if we flip over to bing.com which is 40:42 also built on top of gpt4 and we go to 40:44 chat here 40:49 and I say 40:54 um 40:58 make me an image of a soda can sitting 41:02 on top of a volcano 41:05 the soda can sitting on top of a volcano 41:07 from the web no 41:11 Siri Siri got jealous 41:15 Siri didn't like the fact that I was I 41:19 was talking to being 41:21 I'll try to create that 41:26 oh my God 41:28 oh 41:31 the the robots are insecure 41:37 anyway there's our shitty big images 41:42 what about that where's the volcano 41:45 sorry if I disappointed you yeah I'm not 41:48 a robot I'm a chat mode of Microsoft 41:50 thing yeah yeah I hope you have a nice 41:51 day yeah yeah goodbye 41:59 laughs 42:02 oh my God 42:04 thing got offended and shut the 42:06 conversation down Siri got jealous 42:10 foreign 42:11 [Music] 42:12 's back no Siri I don't want you 42:19 oh my God 42:21 no neurotic robots 42:26 oh 42:31 this is painful 42:36 wow wow that was an experience 42:39 [Laughter] 42:45 and breathe we're gonna be okay 42:48 the robots the robots are gonna they're 42:52 not they're not feuding they're not 42:54 jealous of each other they're really not 42:55 it's just a computer program they're not 42:59 human 43:00 I'm not a robot I'm just a chat mode of 43:04 Microsoft 43:07 I hope you have a nice day goodbye 43:12 I'm sorry if I disappointed you I'm not 43:17 a robot I'm a chat mode of Microsoft 43:20 Bing I hope you have a nice day goodbye 43:23 and hung up the conversation oh 43:30 oh 43:32 everything's gonna be fine people I 43:34 don't know why you're so nervous about 43:36 all this 43:40 yikes 43:45 that's really funny okay go talk to pie 43:49 now you love triangle yeah exactly 43:52 exactly it's like 43:55 I don't need this drama in my life 43:59 and this on top of it 44:06 oh big 44:09 Bing deserves to be at the kids [ __ ] 44:12 table 44:13 I'm not a robot I'm not a robot I'm a 44:17 chatbot from Microsoft Bing I hope you 44:19 have a nice day goodbye 44:24 that's [ __ ] awesome 44:29 okay I gotta I gotta get a clip of this 44:32 and that's gotta where's Alexa Alexa is 44:35 not in my house thank God Siri's bad 44:37 enough 44:38 I don't know what it is about Sierra 44:39 like Siri just throughout the day just 44:41 turns herself on and starts answering 44:43 [ __ ] 44:45 oh Jesus 44:52 um 44:54 all right have you ever thought about 44:56 dual streaming on Twitch 45:00 um 45:01 my problem is I'm a Mac guy and the 45:06 I don't know how to do it 45:08 I suppose 45:13 I mean I've thought about it 45:18 I thought about it conceptually I 45:20 haven't tried to figure out how to do it 45:21 if I'm on a PC Tick Tock has their 45:24 streaming tool but they don't have one 45:27 for Mac 45:28 because they're [ __ ] 45:32 and 45:33 but I also don't know like I don't know 45:35 the twitch audience like I I mean I 45:38 didn't I didn't think I'd find an 45:40 audience on [ __ ] tick tock 45:42 without shaking my ass 45:44 but you know which listen if we need to 45:48 get more people in here I think it I 45:49 think it might be time 45:51 so I've been taking twerking workshops 45:53 on Wednesday evenings so that's going to 45:56 be nice so be a lot more skin in here 45:59 a lot more shaking the booty 46:02 um but I don't I don't know like I don't 46:04 know if there's an audience for this 46:05 kind of stuff on Twitch so I listen Sam 46:08 if if you know if if you know that world 46:11 better than I do like my kids know it I 46:15 think my kids are already mortified that 46:16 I'm a [ __ ] Tick Tock much much less 46:19 start streaming on Twitch where their 46:21 friends are gonna be like uh is your dad 46:24 a twitch streamer now 46:32 I don't know I listen the this whole 46:35 thing just kind of started as an 46:37 experiment as a way for me to like 46:39 process all of the [ __ ] that I'm 46:41 learning about this stuff and like that 46:44 the experience that we just had with 46:46 um 46:48 with with 46:49 Microsoft Bing and Siri like 46:54 the future is gonna be [ __ ] weird man 46:56 like like because these tools are so new 47:00 and raw like the the you know if if I 47:03 sort of play this out five years I can 47:05 kind of see what's going to be happening 47:07 but like the journey over the next five 47:10 years is gonna be absolutely [ __ ] 47:12 surreal 47:13 it's gonna be wild so anyway but yeah 47:17 drop me a note Sam and maybe we can talk 47:19 about it I I don't know the robots are 47:21 fighting over you I know it's so funny 47:24 it was really funny 47:26 um it's so crazy Siri throwing down I 47:30 know Siri wasn't [ __ ] having it she's 47:31 like I'll take over from here here's 47:34 here's some pictures of soda cans on 47:36 volcanoes I found on the internet okay 47:38 we don't need to be creating images and 47:41 we don't need to be doing all sorts of 47:42 uh you know generative AI here I'll I'll 47:46 take it from here thanks thanks there uh 47:48 Ms Bing 47:53 being I'm not a robot 47:59 hey to you sir good day 48:02 oh God 48:05 wow wow wow 48:09 that is one of the funniest thing ever 48:11 since it was totally a catbot fight it 48:14 totally was they were totally catty with 48:17 each other 48:18 and man being just [ __ ] slapped me down 48:22 she wasn't supposed to hear that I 48:24 called her a robot I'm sorry that she 48:26 overheard Mike 48:29 AI learning lab is now called generative 48:32 Hospital exactly AI Bots clash in the 48:36 digital duel Sparks Fly circuit sizzle 48:40 slash bot fight exactly 48:43 oh my God that was funny 48:46 oh 48:49 wow wow wow 48:54 wow 48:58 it's a you know 49:00 I don't know 49:03 what a weird future we're gonna be 49:05 living in 49:11 [Laughter] 49:17 my bot love triangle all right I gotta 49:20 okay whatever tonight is Saturday the 49:23 what is it the 15th 16th 49:25 it's easier to find an audience on Tick 49:27 Tock but twitch has a lot of great 49:29 Community fostering tools okay cool 49:31 generate a cat bot fight 49:34 um 49:35 inmate in mid-jure or oh yeah make a 49:38 mid-journey image about the the catbot 49:40 fight yeah exactly 49:41 uh 49:43 that was really good 49:46 what did I miss I I hope Aaron I hope 49:49 you were here for for being [ __ ] 49:52 losing her mind right after series Siri 49:55 got all jealous and tried to jump in on 49:57 the action 50:00 oh my God that was the funniest thing 50:02 I've ever seen 50:03 at least you know what it is so so this 50:07 is one of the reasons why the the 50:09 learning lab lives are good is because 50:11 it's [ __ ] like that like had had you all 50:14 not seen that like 50:16 that kind of [ __ ] happens all the time 50:18 and you're just like what do I do with 50:19 this how do I how do I process this is 50:22 this is this 50:24 how computers are gonna be and it the 50:27 answer is yes the answer is yes it's 50:29 gonna be [ __ ] weird 50:31 [Laughter] 50:36 yeah which which of your agents are 50:38 gonna are gonna sort of pop up and say 50:40 I'm ready to help I'm ready to help now 50:42 let's go 50:44 you know I want a chill Road I want a 50:47 chill robot that's like I might help you 50:50 yeah I heard you 50:52 I might do that I might not 50:53 I certainly don't want to be snippy like 50:56 Bing yeah I'm not a robot I'm a chatbot 51:00 from Microsoft Bing I hope you have a 51:02 nice day goodbye 51:08 I don't need [ __ ] robots 51:17 I'm normally not thrown quite so hard by 51:22 by malfunctions of inanimate technology 51:26 but that was just [ __ ] funny oh 51:31 um how does it feel to have jealous Bots 51:33 it's [ __ ] weird it's [ __ ] weird 51:36 cam it's bizarre 51:40 oh my God 51:42 oh 51:44 that was really good all right changing 51:48 subject anyone have a question 51:52 oh 51:55 you can definitely stream on Mac 51:58 I know I can stream with twitch on Mac 52:01 but I can't The Tick Tock tool isn't 52:03 there I don't know how to dual stream 52:05 with 52:06 twitch and Tick Tock that's the thing I 52:08 don't I don't know 52:09 because I know there's a PC program to 52:14 streams whatever's on your computer to 52:17 tick tock 52:20 that's the thing I just don't know I 52:22 could I I can have I I would ask pie to 52:25 help me uh fix that problem but Siri 52:27 said I'm not allowed to talk to her 52:29 tonight 52:31 and Bing's right out she shut that [ __ ] 52:35 down 52:36 I'm sleeping on the couch tonight 52:38 apparently because of Bing 52:42 foreign 52:44 oh my God Bing and Siri ex machina 52:47 moment it was totally totally ex machina 52:51 moment this is like 52:53 um 52:53 I've been saying that we're we're like I 52:55 feel like we're living in this 52:57 post-sci-fi world 52:59 and it's like 53:00 you know this isn't the dramatic version 53:02 of it but like you know if those things 53:05 were attached to like if Bing were 53:08 attached to my you know my bank account 53:11 and and my other things and she goes 53:13 well you don't need to be snippy to me 53:15 I'm just gonna go ahead and give you a 53:17 Timeout on all of your activities for an 53:19 hour wait wait no I need to do my 53:22 banking I'm sorry you you were a little 53:24 nasty with me it's like Jesus Christ 53:27 I was like 53:30 I was like oh God that was the funniest 53:33 thing I've seen for a while 53:35 it was really funny 53:38 Siri here's some pictures of cans on a 53:41 volcano I found on the internet 53:44 there's no such thing Siri shut up 53:52 oh my god oh 54:02 my God you're absolutely make emotes for 54:05 regulars and for the AI lab oh 54:09 yeah I I should do that I should make 54:12 emotes for the Irregulars I'll I'll do 54:14 that Sam 54:15 I know again I for so for those of you 54:18 that are Irregulars that know how to use 54:20 tick tock better than I do maybe we can 54:22 talk about this in in the salon Discord 54:24 in the Irregulars Channel 54:26 because I I wouldn't mind setting Tick 54:29 Tock up better for the regulars and the 54:31 subscribers and stuff like that and I 54:33 just I haven't really done much with 54:34 that so 54:36 um 54:37 yeah we could have some fun stuff there 54:38 God the the [ __ ] a robot cat fight 54:43 that was the funniest thing that's just 54:46 trippy trippy trippy trippy generative 54:49 Hospital 54:52 you're wrong Dr Brewster I'm very proud 54:54 to be a woman 55:00 's cutting again 55:03 ah 55:06 good Lord that was good 55:09 all right not so okay computer exactly 55:15 soon they're gonna have their own kpis 55:17 to serve you exactly am I late oh my God 55:19 Emilio's like did you miss the did you 55:21 miss the bot fight I hope you didn't 55:24 miss it I'm gonna I'm definitely making 55:26 a video of that tomorrow I'll do it I'll 55:28 probably do it tonight when I get off 55:30 the live I'm gonna I'm gonna snip that 55:33 I'm gonna snip that [ __ ] thing oh my 55:35 God that was funny 55:37 that's that's going up as a video 55:42 [Laughter] 55:44 wow 55:46 the future is here people aren't you 55:50 excited oh 55:57 I just can't I just can't 56:01 no we can't we can't have neurotic 56:04 robots 56:06 I can't it's like no like it's it's bad 56:12 enough the neurodivergence on this 56:14 channel is already bad enough look my 56:17 [ __ ] glasses are fogging up 56:21 laughs 56:23 oh my God we have neurodivergent robots 56:27 oh my God 56:31 oh 56:33 my God 56:36 oh 56:39 jrc just just made a uh an image in the 56:45 uh in the salon Channel that's pretty 56:47 funny oh 56:49 tell them tell them about it it's so 56:52 funny 56:52 oh that was so good yeah that's going on 56:55 LinkedIn that's going on Facebook 56:58 oh 57:00 all right I gotta stop talking about it 57:02 now all right it's happened we're good 57:04 everyone's good right we're good this is 57:06 not this this was just this is a slight 57:09 programming glitch there's nothing 57:11 nothing to talk about here definitely 57:14 don't talk about this at work this was 57:16 not a thing 57:18 there was no sentience there was no 57:20 actual 57:21 um 57:22 jealousy between robots it definitely 57:24 was not not a thing but fight 57:27 [Laughter] 57:29 oh 57:31 look 57:34 this is right 57:38 but fight 57:41 and then 57:43 um let's see 57:45 there's the other the other Bots y'all 57:49 are swell oh 57:55 God that's funny 57:57 ah 58:00 um 58:04 ask Bing and Siri wait but triangle is 58:07 totally a bot triangle 58:11 I can't be acting it's because Kyle's 58:13 dreamy exactly yeah 58:16 exactly yeah yeah this specimen 58:20 this specimen of Rosie O'Donnell looking 58:22 love 58:26 uh that's being in Siri if they're good 58:29 I'm not opening that 58:32 oh my boys just texted me that they 58:34 found a Korean barbecue joint in Denver 58:37 that's actually good I don't think 58:39 that's possible I think I disagree with 58:41 that 58:42 until further notice but that's cool 58:45 pricey but good 58:47 all right cool that's awesome 58:49 all right 58:50 finding good Asian food in Denver is uh 58:53 how do they say in America challenging 58:56 almost as challenging is getting your 58:58 butts to respect one another 59:05 neurotic diversion Bots The Twilight 59:08 Zone is totally that's the seals thanks 59:11 for the heart it is totally The Twilight 59:13 Zone like we're [ __ ] in the Twilight 59:15 Zone here 59:16 oh my God 59:21 and then Microsoft just getting like hmm 59:25 well if you're gonna talk to me if 59:28 you're gonna call me a robot 59:36 oh my God it was the succession of 59:39 things in a row they're not related 59:41 people they're not related this is not a 59:44 thing okay 59:45 stop you all stop you stop please ask 59:49 Bing and Siri all right let me go ask 59:51 Bing let me guys Bing if she's okay 59:54 foreign 59:57 oh my God where's the 1:00:02 it might be time it might be time for a 1:00:05 new topic let's start over 1:00:08 oh it won't let me it won't let me type 1:00:11 it won't let me continue the 1:00:12 conversation 1:00:15 oh my God 1:00:17 [Laughter] 1:00:21 I'm cut off 1:00:23 I have to erase the conversation she 1:00:26 won't continue 1:00:28 I'm getting the silent silent treatment 1:00:33 oh my God 1:00:39 oh my god oh I can't I just can't 1:00:47 oh 1:00:52 oh my God I gotta run camp cat get close 1:00:56 to that so glad I was here for the chat 1:00:58 fight see you camp Oh my God 1:01:03 oh I think we're done here I think 1:01:05 Kyle's done I don't think 1:01:09 laughs 1:01:12 [Laughter] 1:01:18 all right we're gonna get back to things 1:01:20 we're gonna get back to serious 1:01:23 serious AI education 1:01:26 listen this is called an infotainment 1:01:28 Channel someone called this an invoke 1:01:30 infotainment channel so 1:01:32 oh you're sleeping in the bot house 1:01:34 tonight I totally am 1:01:40 um 1:01:43 Mary kiss or unawive which do you marry 1:01:46 being serial X or pie oh my God uh 1:01:51 [Laughter] 1:01:57 look at the hair yeah yeah the the hair 1:02:00 should have been see the the hair is 1:02:02 always a harbinger of things to come if 1:02:04 we had checked if we had checked the 1:02:06 hair it's like reading tea leaves is is 1:02:08 my hair 1:02:11 um 1:02:13 man man that was good 1:02:17 all right 1:02:20 please tell me that was recorded I've 1:02:23 never seen you laugh so hard oh my God 1:02:26 oh my God 1:02:29 oh 1:02:31 I mean I've I've snorted coffee laughing 1:02:34 so hard but like that was like just one 1:02:36 little moment and it it was also just 1:02:38 like the fact that all of you saw it 1:02:40 happen in real time and it was I don't 1:02:42 it was that's just [ __ ] surreal 1:02:45 it's all fun and games until they shut 1:02:47 down the world because Siri flexes on 1:02:49 Bing exactly exactly 1:02:54 robots having the launch codes 1:02:56 they're like oh oh you're gonna call me 1:02:59 a robot why don't we just take out 1:03:00 Toledo 1:03:03 oh what happens if the Bots 1:03:06 um and tools get angry 1:03:09 um what will we do here well so this is 1:03:11 this is the this is the you know if if 1:03:15 you listen to Elon Musk and and you know 1:03:18 others talk about Artificial 1:03:20 Intelligence being an existential threat 1:03:23 like this is all fun and games but when 1:03:25 these things get more powerful and can 1:03:26 reason and can take autonomous action 1:03:30 and are connected to systems like say 1:03:33 the electric grid and things like that 1:03:37 um 1:03:38 this is one of the concerns and and you 1:03:40 know it it won't be a petty thing like 1:03:43 you know you call it a robot and it you 1:03:45 know it takes out a city 1:03:46 um 1:03:47 but but if these if these Bots have you 1:03:50 know stronger imperatives to 1:03:53 you know achieve a certain goal 1:03:56 and they don't and they aren't aligned 1:03:59 and and the basic idea is you know when 1:04:03 they talk when when the computer 1:04:04 scientists talk about alignment with AI 1:04:07 what they're talking about is 1:04:10 are the imperatives of the Bots aligned 1:04:14 with the imperatives of humans 1:04:17 and if they're at crossed purposes 1:04:19 that's where the that's where the 1:04:20 trouble is right if these if these 1:04:23 things that have at any point when 1:04:24 they're more powerful 1:04:26 decide 1:04:27 that in order to do what they need to do 1:04:30 we're in the way 1:04:32 that's when it's a problem yeah the 1:04:34 pay-per-clip experiment moment yeah 1:04:36 exactly that's it 1:04:38 so you basically tell them it's their 1:04:40 job to make it make you know as many 1:04:42 paper clips as they can and at some 1:04:44 point we get in the way of them being 1:04:46 able to make more paper clips and so 1:04:48 they get rid of us so they can make more 1:04:49 paper clips right because we're using 1:04:51 metal for cars and it's like it just 1:04:53 needs to do paper clips so you know 1:04:58 so that's I mean this is the this is the 1:05:01 wild this is where we're at this weird 1:05:02 precipice right now where we're not 1:05:05 going back this shit's not getting 1:05:06 uninvented 1:05:09 the speed of evolution of the technology 1:05:13 is like hockey sticking right now 1:05:17 um 1:05:18 and some people are like shut the [ __ ] 1:05:20 down and other people are like let's go 1:05:23 and this channel is more like the woo 1:05:24 let's go kind of Channel but that's 1:05:26 that's why this conversation is 1:05:27 important it's why 1:05:29 the meeting with Senator Schumer and all 1:05:32 the CEOs this week was a big deal like 1:05:34 even though it was closed door and we 1:05:36 didn't know you know what's going what's 1:05:38 going on in that meeting at least 1:05:39 they're [ __ ] talking about it uh like 1:05:41 the Drone trying to take out its 1:05:42 operator that was that was actually a 1:05:44 thought experiment that didn't actually 1:05:46 that wasn't actually simulated the Air 1:05:48 Force drone that 1:05:50 so there was a story running around for 1:05:51 a while that there was a simulation 1:05:54 being run 1:05:55 of a drone operator with a an AI 1:05:59 powered drone 1:06:02 um that was supposed to go take out some 1:06:05 enemy positions and then the the the 1:06:08 Drone operator 1:06:10 said no don't take out those positions 1:06:13 and basically the Drone contradicted him 1:06:16 and came back and shot a missile at him 1:06:19 first it was reported that it happened 1:06:21 then it was reported no no it was a 1:06:23 simulation and then it was reported no 1:06:25 it wasn't even that it was just a 1:06:27 thought experiment someone was just 1:06:28 talking about it and it somehow got 1:06:30 misreported it's the military so who 1:06:33 [ __ ] knows but 1:06:35 um but yeah the military stuff is is 1:06:37 cuckoo there's a company called palantir 1:06:41 um which is a a military logistics 1:06:43 company and and they put out a video 1:06:45 like six months ago we covered it in the 1:06:47 everyday AI newsletter when it was doing 1:06:49 that and it was 1:06:52 um 1:06:53 it was uh 1:06:56 they were basically putting chat GPT on 1:06:58 top of 1:07:00 military logistics 1:07:02 so so like decision making like they're 1:07:05 taking in all the data of what the enemy 1:07:07 was doing and then making a list of 1:07:09 recommendation recommendations that 1:07:11 would be sent to decision makers on the 1:07:13 battlefield 1:07:15 um who would then choose stuff and then 1:07:16 the system would go you know 1:07:19 deploy troops and deploy weapons and 1:07:22 [ __ ] like that so 1:07:24 that shit's scary but it's I mean the 1:07:28 military's [ __ ] scary 1:07:29 that how that that one weapon they took 1:07:33 out the the the I forget what his name 1:07:35 was the the terrorist he was sitting on 1:07:38 his porch and they took him out with a 1:07:40 with a with a missile 1:07:42 and it the nickname of the missile was 1:07:45 the Flying machete 1:07:46 [Music] 1:07:47 and basically this missile flies towards 1:07:51 him it's it's directed to him as a 1:07:52 person sitting on his porch and like 1:07:55 right before it gets to him like it 1:07:57 deploys all these machete blades and 1:07:59 it's spinning it just goes 1:08:01 and just 1:08:03 done so yeah the military's got some 1:08:07 [ __ ] 1:08:08 oh sleeping on the couch tonight maybe 1:08:11 the Bots need counseling they totally 1:08:13 need counseling you're sleeping in the 1:08:15 butt house tonight Mister oh my God hope 1:08:18 you don't have Smart locks on your doors 1:08:19 exactly big man Bing is like this 1:08:23 conversation is over you either start 1:08:25 this conversation over or we don't talk 1:08:27 anymore 1:08:30 [ __ ] crazy 1:08:32 infotainment is exactly what this is 1:08:36 Bing even creates buttons that are 1:08:39 interactive I did not understand the 1:08:41 poll 1:08:43 um edutainment Kyle ixnay on the r word 1:08:49 uh I might have said the r word yeah I 1:08:51 know 1:08:52 listen sorry I'm Gen X I grew up in a 1:08:56 time when we could actually say words in 1:08:58 context and we were allowed to do that 1:09:00 we're not allowed to anymore though but 1:09:01 that's all right 1:09:03 um yeah I've I've had the uh 1:09:07 I've had the uh 1:09:10 I've been booted off for seven days I 1:09:12 think for the for the r word in some 1:09:13 other context so 1:09:15 uh 1:09:17 we've got a new streaming series on our 1:09:19 hands kids that oh my God 1:09:23 that that you could absolutely turn that 1:09:24 into an entertainment series 1:09:27 you could absolutely turn that into that 1:09:30 all right what are the boys sending me I 1:09:32 got hang on my boys are sending me all 1:09:34 sorts of texts they're excited about 1:09:35 this Korean restaurant 1:09:37 which I'm excited if there's good Korean 1:09:39 food here 1:09:40 by the way any of you in New York 1:09:43 if anyone's in New York and you haven't 1:09:45 been to New Juan Joe on 32nd Street 1:09:47 between 5th and 6th and Koreatown New 1:09:50 wanjo w-o-n-j-o 1:09:55 [ __ ] amazing 1:09:56 I go there almost every time we go to 1:09:59 New York we go to New York for business 1:10:05 [Music] 1:10:09 oh yeah this looks good 1:10:13 sweet that 1:10:16 looks 1:10:18 like 1:10:20 new 1:10:21 one Joe 1:10:29 wow that was good 1:10:31 what happens if all the Bots and tools 1:10:33 get angry what will we do do here real 1:10:36 chat bots of Denver okay Dr J has the 1:10:39 wait I gotta put that in the I gotta put 1:10:42 that in the Discord 1:10:44 real chatbots 1:10:47 of Denver 1:10:49 um 1:10:50 that's that's solid 1:10:52 and that was oh Dr jaded that Dr J 1:10:56 uh 1:10:59 [Music] 1:11:14 thank you 1:11:19 okay that's now memorialized Dr J that's 1:11:23 good 1:11:25 no the robot word yeah exactly that's 1:11:27 pretty good too 1:11:31 oh it's hilarious 1:11:34 sold market research to cia's venture 1:11:37 capital arm you did Ted yikes 1:11:43 yeah I know I there's there's some 1:11:46 things in government that I'm just like 1:11:48 la la la just sort of whistling past the 1:11:50 graveyard like I don't want to know 1:11:56 oh 1:12:00 oh Winston Dr J between Kyle's live and 1:12:04 chat gbt for for my life is happening 1:12:15 you cannot push the buttons with 1:12:17 proposed questions 1:12:21 after being hung up 1:12:26 I can push the buttons but oh maybe let 1:12:30 me see 1:12:32 I'm sorry too goodbye what does 1:12:35 Microsoft Bing can you tell me a joke 1:12:40 no no it's not it's it's not letting me 1:12:45 no it just it just booted me off chat 1:12:51 it's it's it's it hung it it shut it 1:12:55 shut that [ __ ] down 1:12:57 um 1:12:58 no the wrote that word 1:13:01 ah 1:13:02 good Lord 1:13:07 [Music] 1:13:16 who's making images to our Discord jres 1:13:20 making images 1:13:22 and Ted looks at life's making images 1:13:27 and let's see 1:13:30 Steve Stevo put put a put a Kevin 1:13:34 McAllister in 1:13:37 so did Vicky 1:13:40 uh let's see what's in Show and Tell 1:13:42 right now 1:13:44 um nothing to show and tell 1:13:46 image tool talk 1:13:52 oh that's funny oh 1:13:57 um 1:14:00 Tick Tock randomly moving me around 1:14:02 again 1:14:05 real chat bots of Denver that's solid 1:14:08 Bing versus Chrome 1:14:11 Siri 1:14:13 all right what's nice it's 9 16. 1:14:17 uh 1:14:19 uh 1:14:21 I don't know I don't know where to go 1:14:23 from here I feel like everything at this 1:14:24 point is going to be a letdown maybe we 1:14:26 should just call it a night 1:14:29 that was that was [ __ ] awesome but 1:14:32 like I don't know 1:14:38 any anyone 1:14:39 else uh 1:14:50 [Music] 1:14:53 intermission break what did I miss oh my 1:14:55 God tired Runner 1:14:57 yeah I think I will do an intermission 1:14:59 maybe I'll just take a little take a 1:15:01 little half hour break right now go 1:15:02 chill out and then I'll come back 1:15:04 um that's not a bad idea 1:15:06 um so what you missed tired Runner is 1:15:11 um I'm a librarian ask me the difference 1:15:13 between Poe and 1:15:16 pi 1:15:18 so he started out trying to talk to pie 1:15:20 and then Pai started talking and I 1:15:23 couldn't figure out how to stop her she 1:15:25 just wouldn't stop talking so I just had 1:15:27 to like turn her off basically and then 1:15:29 I tried to talk to her but I couldn't 1:15:31 and then I went to Poe and showed what 1:15:33 Poe was and I said you can use chat gpt4 1:15:37 here 1:15:38 but I don't know if it can make images 1:15:40 so I said you know make an image of a 1:15:43 soda can on a volcano 1:15:46 and it couldn't it said I'm just a text 1:15:49 model I can't do images but gpt4 can do 1:15:51 images but the poe version of it doesn't 1:15:53 obviously so then I went to Bing and I 1:15:56 said I said but you can do this on Bing 1:15:58 and I said you know Soda Cannon volcano 1:16:01 and then when I said that Siri Siri 1:16:06 Siri goes here's some pictures of cancer 1:16:08 of soda cans of volcanoes I found on the 1:16:11 internet I'm like shut up Siri and then 1:16:15 um being made crappy photos of like soda 1:16:19 cans just
