2:34 learning lab we do things dumb around
2:37 here you can make money
2:42 with happy Tuesday night Monday night
2:45 happy Monday night it's just like
2:49 Tuesday if it were a day earlier it's
2:52 exactly like that and look Hamilton
2:55 Hamilton that's from Tobias thank you
2:58 Tobias I don't know if you're in here
3:00 taking requests gypsies champ and
3:02 thieves nice I should I think I need to
3:05 I think I need to do some Broadway Tunes
3:06 just be doing Broadway Tunes get me some
3:09 Hamilton going some
3:12 rent I'm going to have to get out at at
3:14 this point I'm starting to Tap Out on
3:16 Just the [ __ ] I remember to play you
3:18 know how you learn like 40 songs but you
3:21 really only learn like 15 and then you
3:24 really only remember like seven I'm kind
3:27 of tapped out on my seven right now so I
3:31 got I got to get the tabs out
3:33 again you know I I wasn't planning on
3:36 having a uh Tick Tock sing along but you
3:38 know I wasn't planning on having a
3:41 [ __ ] Tik Tok Channel at 58 so what
3:43 are you going to
3:45 do welcome everybody my name is ky ky
3:50 Shannon and this is the a learning lab
3:53 we're going to do some learning tonight
3:55 oh Cy that sounds boring I don't want to
3:58 learn what is this school do I have to
4:00 take notes
4:02 no just [ __ ]
4:06 around [ __ ] around and we'll find out
4:09 that's what this Chan that's actually I
4:11 can't believe I Haven stumbled on that
4:12 Meme before this channel is the [ __ ]
4:14 around and find out Channel it really is
4:18 [ __ ] around with AI find out what I can
4:21 do you are not 58 what I am 58 years old
4:27 born in
4:29 1965
4:32 195 but I have the emotional maturity of
4:35 a seventh
4:39 grader you know you got to
4:43 uh in my
4:45 opinion just keep having fun I don't
4:47 think age is
4:51 relevant I feel more engaged
4:54 intellectually
4:56 creatively
4:58 professionally right now now than I did
5:01 well let's see do I feel more engaged
5:03 than I did in my mid-30s that's when I
5:05 started agency.com and urban Desires in
5:08 the mid 90s
5:11 um it's
5:13 close it's pretty
5:15 close yeah I'm an old
5:17 [ __ ] Kyle you're retired now no
5:21 I wish I am not retired now you look
5:23 great in your personality makes you look
5:25 much younger oh thank you so much that's
5:27 very very sweet of you I appreciate that
5:31 um yeah personality is part of it isn't
5:35 it there's no I like I don't I don't
5:38 there's no need to act
5:41 old I suppose there's a purpose for
5:44 acting
5:45 mature I just I just haven't found it
5:49 yet I'll get to as soon as soon as I can
5:52 figure out the purpose for acting like
5:54 an old [ __ ] nin then I will I don't
5:58 think it's necessary
6:02 I don't think it's
6:03 necessary um I was thinking about what
6:06 what to do tonight I the there
6:09 is there is so much there there is just
6:15 so much um I I think what I might do is
6:19 just is just kind of do like a a chat
6:22 add kind of tour of some some software
6:28 and just kind of see where it takes me
6:31 and and so if you've got requests so
6:32 here so here's the way this works
6:36 um couple of things about the
6:38 channel
6:42 um this channel focuses on AI after the
6:46 moment of inflection that started
6:49 November 30th of last year that was the
6:52 launch of chat GPT so what I'm not
6:56 expert in is kind of all of the math and
6:59 the science and the programming and the
7:01 engineering behind Ai and machine
7:03 learning I mean I understand it enough
7:05 to understand it um but that's not my my
7:11 expertise my expertise I think I
7:15 hope is that I have no
7:19 expertise well then why are we here if
7:22 you're supposed to be learning us how
7:24 are you going to learn us if you don't
7:25 know
7:27 anything H dum dum what's with your hair
7:30 what the hell is going on up
7:32 there
7:36 um no one zero people 0% of the
7:43 people know
7:45 anything about generative Ai and what it
7:49 is and what it's going to be and how
7:51 it's going to affect our
7:53 work
7:56 even the folks at open AI who are
7:59 building this
8:01 [ __ ] don't know what it is don't
8:04 know fundamentally why it does what it
8:08 does there are things in these tools
8:10 called emergent properties which is the
8:14 really fancy way for engineers to go we
8:16 don't know why the [ __ ] it does
8:19 that it's an emergent property it's
8:23 emerged from our
8:25 expectations and and it is a it is a it
8:30 is not in alignment with our
8:32 expectations it has
8:34 emerged uh so so they don't know it in
8:38 fact when they launched chat GPT they
8:41 thought maybe one influencer would tweet
8:44 it and it would maybe get 5,000
8:48 comments and it got a million users
8:53 within 5 days and 100 million users
8:56 within 6 weeks it was the fastest
8:59 adoption of technology and
9:01 history and that made the entire Tech
9:03 Community lose their ever flipping mind
9:07 and so it's been a year of everyone in
9:11 Tech um trying to catch up with open AI
9:14 trying to figure out what this is trying
9:18 to take this lead that open AI built and
9:23 somehow shrink it a little bit and no
9:25 one's really done it yet which is
9:26 amazing after a
9:28 year uh
9:30 um but what what has happened is because
9:33 it's been a year and there's so many
9:37 companies you know companies were
9:39 working on this Tech long before chat
9:41 GPT came
9:43 out but it was all kind of below the
9:46 radar and because Chachi PT was so
9:50 popular so quickly
9:53 um it became the radar it is the radar
9:57 and so everyone is just is just you know
10:00 trying to get on on the AI map and so as
10:03 a result we're we're starting to see in
10:05 the past what's it been six weeks ever
10:09 since ever really ever since um chat GPT
10:12 Dev
10:13 day followed shortly thereafter
10:17 by open AI firing Sam Alman because
10:20 apparently they stumbled onto something
10:23 so powerful that it scared the [ __ ] out
10:25 of everyone and they all panicked so we
10:29 have that to look forward to we've got
10:31 Google's Gemini Ultra which you know
10:35 we're probably not going to get to play
10:36 with until I don't know who knows March
10:39 February March something like that but
10:42 that looks pretty remarkable they're
10:43 trying to catch up they haven't done it
10:47 yet um and then you have you have all
10:51 these other companies like we we were
10:52 playing someone asked me to demo
10:55 Leonardo AI last night and Leonardo it's
10:59 got
11:00 completely new interface it's got
11:01 completely new features it's got this
11:04 realtime stuff that ka. AI has ca. a is
11:08 another one pika doart is another one
11:12 which is text to
11:13 video um I just got a note
11:18 today from D- ID that does
11:23 avatars um there's a wait list now for
11:26 them for these things called agents so
11:29 if you've seen if you've been on my
11:31 channel and you've seen the videos of of
11:33 me as
11:35 me talking yeah and looking like a video
11:41 that's sort of a recorded version of an
11:44 avatar well D- ID just announced and I
11:48 got on the wait list for I'll I'll I
11:49 we'll go there and I'll I'll show you
11:51 where the wait list is so you can get on
11:54 it is um this thing called agents and an
11:58 agent is like an avatar except people
12:02 can interact with it in real
12:06 time so you train it like you train a
12:08 GPT on a knowledge base and then video
12:12 of a human and then you can then talk to
12:15 that person I think I'm pretty sure
12:17 that's how it goes so as soon as I get
12:20 access to that if anyone has any
12:21 connections at D D-
12:24 ID get me on that [ __ ] weight list
12:26 because as soon as I do that I'll I'll
12:28 sort of build one Mr Smith yeah exactly
12:31 I'll build one like live on air and I
12:34 think what I'm going to do is I'm going
12:36 to do um I'm going to do the AI learning
12:39 lab version of me so I'm going to take
12:41 transcripts from my lives of me acting
12:44 like an idiot and then probably some
12:47 recordings of me acting like an
12:49 [Laughter]
12:55 idiot and and you can talk to me
12:58 whatever the [ __ ] you want I don't know
13:01 what I'll tell
13:06 you oh lordy oh
13:10 Lordy so we'll see what the
13:12 state-of-the-art is of being able to
13:15 replicate yourself but I mean holy [ __ ]
13:17 it's just there's a
13:18 lot and and then like that's not even to
13:22 mention what Chachi PT can do
13:26 apparently Chachi PT has just gotten
13:28 significant iFly better in the past two
13:30 or 3 days and there's all these rumors
13:32 flying around that it got significantly
13:35 better because it's GPT
13:38 4.5 to which open AI goes ah if it were
13:41 4.5 we'd have told
13:43 you but it it got better like Joker
13:47 Joker from in here um sent me sent me a
13:51 thing last night after the live and he's
13:52 like did you know I could do this like
13:54 he's got a GPT that's now generating
13:57 PDFs that people can down download he's
14:00 like I've been trying to get it to do
14:01 this
14:02 forever so I don't know so we can play
14:05 with that tonight so I just figure we'll
14:07 we'll play with a bunch of [ __ ] so so if
14:10 you have requests let's treat this like
14:12 total request live total total request
14:15 live with Carson daily you can make
14:17 money
14:18 with ask me what you want to see and
14:21 I'll go play
14:22 it looks like looks like you've won
14:25 we're going to play with some obscure
14:27 technology that that doesn't quite know
14:30 how to
14:31 use maybe that's my big skill is my
14:34 willing willingness to make an ass of
14:36 myself night after night after night I
14:41 do I do have to tell you that the the
14:43 anxiety of going live um
14:47 diminishes if you do it for two or three
14:50 hours a night seven nights a week um it
14:53 does get it does get better if if those
14:55 of you who flop s when you think about
14:58 doing something like this
14:59 uh just [ __ ] do it assume no one will
15:03 show up and sometimes they
15:05 don't my early lives I had seven or
15:08 eight people in here some of them are
15:10 still here I think Amelio's wife I think
15:13 Amelio's wife was here pretty much from
15:16 day one she hasn't missed one now she's
15:18 never on time the like her her
15:21 attendance record in for the class is
15:25 the amount of demerits Amelio's wife has
15:28 is like she shouldn't even be in school
15:30 she should have been expelled months ago
15:34 never on time never on
15:37 time but you know she shows up she's got
15:40 a good
15:41 attitude apparently she speaks Italian
15:44 when I first started speaking Italian
15:45 fluently she confirmed that indeed I
15:48 could because I didn't know too many
15:52 companies trying to make money with chat
15:53 GPT it's annoying it's it's so it's so
15:56 [ __ ] annoying you could make money
15:58 with juding you know what like all these
16:01 [ __ ] are doing it's like have you
16:03 noticed like I'm
16:04 noticing on Twitter I'm getting like um
16:09 DM
16:10 bombed by fake
16:13 accounts you know tagging me in fake nft
16:18 [ __ ] um I'm
16:23 getting 10 calls a
16:26 day like like spam calls have gone up
16:29 spam emails have gone up it's it's it's
16:32 really [ __ ] annoying been here since
16:34 June still waiting to get a comment
16:37 pinned Ted looks at life Ted I've got
16:41 your image up here oh that's not Ted's
16:42 that's tobias's yeah you're
16:46 right well you're pinned now buddy do
16:49 you do you want me to KN you so far in
16:52 the last two nights we've I don't what
16:54 do you do to make someone a lord you
16:56 don't Knight them what
16:57 you hey wait I'm going to go ask chat
17:00 GPT that that is something chat GPT can
17:02 tell
17:04 us hold
17:07 please I also say stupid [ __ ] like hold
17:10 please and it's totally subconscious and
17:14 then the Irregulars the people that come
17:16 here every night make images trolling me
17:20 trolling the things I say and it's
17:22 awesome I love it but now I'm totally
17:25 self-conscious of all my little ticks
17:32 oh man we're going to have some fun
17:35 tonight we going we you know what we
17:37 going to do we're going down to Bou I
17:38 tell you what I have some greens tonight
17:40 some color greens some ham some Pinto
17:43 some black ey peas
17:46 tasty all
17:50 [Music]
17:57 right to create a
18:03 sir unite
18:07 them
18:09 how
18:11 do you
18:16 create a
18:26 lord creating a lord involves GR a noble
18:29 title of nobility which typically
18:32 carries land and certain privileges
18:34 digital Gods you're not getting
18:37 land hopefully you own a
18:43 farm let's see there are several ways to
18:47 become a noble Lord and acquire the
18:50 noble title okay hereditary peage no
18:54 digital Gods has does no there's not
18:57 hereditary purage like life peerage
19:00 maybe
19:01 that who have made significant
19:04 contributions to society digital Gods
19:06 has made cons significant contributions
19:09 to the little the gifts and the stickers
19:11 and things so I think it's life peerage
19:14 purchase of a title marriage we're not
19:16 getting married honorary titles some
19:19 countries Grant honorary titles such as
19:23 lord of the manner or Lord digital
19:26 Gods these are often symbolic and don't
19:29 do not carry the same legal or social
19:31 status yeah all right sorry digital God
19:33 you've just got an honorary
19:36 title I took a picture of some
19:38 handwritten notes for for a quote it's
19:42 now a
19:44 spreadsheet and presentation yeah oh
19:48 we'll do that tonight I'll do I'll do my
19:50 we we'll go find a new whiteboard I've
19:52 been doing the same whiteboard for for
19:55 two months
19:57 now we'll go find find a picture of a
19:59 whiteboard on the internet that's just a
20:01 mess I'm Still Loving my suspenders Kyle
20:03 with the with the T Twins playing video
20:05 games I sent that to my boys what did
20:08 they say so wait let me let me go wait
20:11 where where do I have that
20:14 um was that in Show and Tell I think it
20:17 was in Show and
20:18 Tell hang on this one from uh from
20:21 Danielle look at that one a swell a
20:25 learning lab is that spelled correctly
20:27 in everything good Lord the
20:31 talent did you see did you see my little
20:34 reminder video
20:36 tonight and you get a title and you get
20:39 a title titles for everyone there are s
20:42 there are madams there are madams of the
20:45 evening just bring it on everyone's
20:47 getting a
20:49 title Joker had his birthday
20:53 yesterday happy birthday Joker look at
20:56 that look at that how cool is that how
20:59 cool is this community so by the way
21:01 what you're looking at right here this
21:02 is the AI Salon um it's a it's a a
21:06 community I started a year
21:08 ago and we have a new online home it's
21:10 about a month month and change old um
21:13 and this is the show Andel channel in
21:15 there and I'll tell I'll tell you about
21:17 all about joining that we have our next
21:19 meeting tomorrow night um Tobias who's
21:23 got the image here tonight is our
21:25 sponsor for the next couple of meetings
21:27 so thank you to bias if you're in
21:30 here but let's go find
21:33 the image of oh that's a nice one who
21:36 did that steo beautiful look at that
21:41 CAC you
21:43 know I mean I just honest to
21:50 goodness like if you're a product
21:52 designer or you're a baker or you're an
21:55 Etsy person or you're some sort of
21:58 creative
22:01 maker I mean if I were a baker and like
22:05 knew how to do like whatever that kind
22:07 of icing is called where you sort of cut
22:08 it out in shapes like that like that is
22:11 totally inspirational like that's
22:13 something like that's a new kind of cake
22:15 I've never seen before and yet it's
22:17 totally bitching and cool here always I
22:19 know you really are Tobias you're
22:20 amazing welcome welcome welcome
22:25 um there's the nighting but wait we
22:28 gotta
22:29 another happy birthday Joker these are
22:31 all so cool some someone gave me well
22:33 someone gave Tom Arnold a giant head but
22:36 I think I think that's how people make
22:38 images of me is they they just it's
22:41 they've got their list of B
22:45 celebrities including including the
22:47 phrase Fat Al Alec Baldwin fat Alec
22:51 Baldwin oh this is this is Luna stick's
22:54 uh Christmas pie of ground
22:57 beef
23:01 look I'm telling you that's absolutely a
23:03 fat Alec Baldwin prompt who did this one
23:06 Tim Shuffle if you're in here tonight
23:09 tell me that's not the prompt I
23:11 guarantee you that's the
23:12 [Laughter]
23:15 prompt are the twins maybe the twins are
23:17 in the Irregulars channel oh my God I
23:19 love that one too TK TK did that one the
23:23 angry
23:24 Hedgehog it's the [ __ ] best it's just
23:28 it [ __ ] captures if if a a real hedgehog
23:31 were pissed off and had humanlike
23:34 emotions that is [ __ ] it oh it's so
23:40 good oh there it
23:45 is so who did this last night TK did
23:48 this one
23:50 too so I have 23 year-old twin boys and
23:53 I cannot get them to play with this AI
23:56 [ __ ] um and they're always streaming
23:59 games and [ __ ] like that which screws up
24:01 the uh the bandwidth here let me let me
24:03 see what they said I to see if I have it
24:06 in
24:09 here I I sent this to him last night and
24:12 I said you guys are famous my live
24:14 audience made this last night when I
24:16 came up to see if you were streaming the
24:19 only response was from olly
24:25 brh I don't think they approved
24:29 [Laughter]
24:32 oh lordy oh man okay Roseanne from
24:37 Roseanne Tom Arnold John Goodman Alec
24:40 Baldwin I've also gotten oh those are
24:43 your prompts I've also gotten Philip
24:44 Seymour
24:45 Hoffman um who else have I
24:48 gotten there was a creative one the
24:51 other night it was like a new one I
24:52 forget who it
24:54 was but yeah you know oh my God the
24:58 rosie odonnal One cracked me up I I I
25:02 absolutely went through a phase my hair
25:03 must have been in a in a particular way
25:07 where I went through like a three-week
25:09 phase where it was just like everyone
25:10 that came into life you look like Rosie
25:13 O'Donnell that that was when I realized
25:16 that that the trolls in this
25:19 channel sort of compliment
25:27 me
25:29 you have to you have to dig deep to feel
25:31 how how to to find the pain you have to
25:35 go oh that's a really
25:37 nice is it oh oh that kind of stings
25:40 ouch Ow like it you know it's like you
25:43 know when you get whacked in the stomach
25:45 and you're like I'm fine and then you
25:46 double over and fall to the ground
25:48 that's how the trolls on this channel
25:50 are the good ones there's dumb Dums but
25:53 but most of them are quite clever um
25:57 that one is [ __ ] awesome awesome oh
25:59 Lordy okay so so let me tell you about
26:01 the salon and how to get there
26:03 so um the AI Salon I started this the
26:07 week after chat
26:08 gbt because um having been through um
26:13 one of these I don't even know what to
26:16 call them one of these
26:18 eras so I I discovered I stumbled upon
26:22 this Crazy Little Thing Called the
26:23 worldwide web in in I don't know mid 19
26:29 94
26:31 and the more I learned about it the more
26:34 interesting it seemed and then and then
26:36 all of a sudden I published uh an online
26:40 magazine called Urban desires and and I
26:43 figured I learned enough HTML and I
26:45 figured out how to upload my site to
26:47 some server in
26:48 California and three weeks later I got a
26:51 note from someone on a dialup BBS if you
26:54 remember those that said hey Kyle did
26:57 you know that Urban desire was written
26:58 up in liberon the Parisian News Daily
27:01 and I said uh no 3 weeks
27:05 later and I realized in that moment that
27:09 the world had
27:10 changed but that almost no one knew it
27:14 and I realized that geography had
27:17 collapsed and the distance between when
27:19 you say something and when someone sees
27:22 something collapsed to instant like
27:24 everything goes to instant and I ended
27:27 up co-founding agency.com which was an
27:29 early digital agency and so so I've been
27:32 I've been
27:33 through one of these phases in in
27:37 humanity before and so when chat GPT
27:41 came out I'd been i' I've been digging
27:43 pretty deep in the image Generation
27:45 stuff and then chat GPT like just melted
27:48 my face I was like
27:50 oh this is one of those and so I started
27:54 this community so in 1994 I started a
27:57 community called the world worldwide web
27:58 artist Consortium in New York City wack
28:01 and wack ended up getting to like 2,000
28:03 people and it it was just it was just
28:05 this crazy
28:06 crazy serendipitous kind of thing and
28:09 I'm not living in New York anymore I'm
28:10 living in
28:12 Denver and so I started the salon and I
28:15 started it with this woman Leah faston
28:17 out of Boston she's a photographer and
28:19 when when she and I started this she had
28:22 never even played with AI but she's a
28:24 professional photographer so she'd made
28:25 the transition from film to digital and
28:29 she's like I'm really curious like I
28:31 used to work with with someone she knows
28:34 that introduced
28:36 us and she said I want to get into this
28:38 stuff and and and we kind of talked
28:40 about this idea of people that we know
28:43 like who was doing it and so I thought
28:45 well let's [ __ ] start
28:47 one and so that's what this is so this
28:49 is a a year old group of people that are
28:52 on this AI Adventure that choose to be
28:55 on it like like see those see that Mary
28:57 band of fellas and ladies right there
29:00 and whatever this wispy Little Critter
29:04 is they are getting ready to head into
29:08 the abyss and figure out how they get to
29:11 the other side they're choosing to do it
29:14 why because they're called to do it
29:15 they're compelled to do it everyone that
29:18 I know that's into AI right
29:21 now starts with just [ __ ] around what
29:25 is this thing oh this is stupid it makes
29:27 mistakes I hear it's copying
29:32 everyone and then they just for whatever
29:34 reason push a little bit harder and they
29:37 have what I call their first Kevin
29:39 McAllister
29:41 [Laughter]
29:45 moment and then once you have that
29:47 moment I don't I don't I I don't think
29:50 I've ever met someone who if they've
29:53 truly had that moment has gone back from
29:56 it so this is is kind of like Matrix red
29:59 pill blue pill [ __ ] right where if you
30:02 haven't really had that moment with AI
30:04 you're still in blue pill territory the
30:06 minute you have that epiphany of just
30:08 like holy [ __ ] this is something
30:10 different you don't go back from it so
30:11 that's what this group is about so go
30:13 there there's three links on that page
30:15 one is the uh the link to the mighty
30:17 networks which I'm about to show you
30:19 there's also a link to Meetup which you
30:21 don't really need to do but you can uh
30:23 cuz there's calendars within the mighty
30:25 networks and then there's a link to a
30:27 merch store and the merch store actually
30:29 supports the salon the salon doesn't
30:32 cost you anything it's not it's a it's
30:34 it's a community it's not it's not a
30:36 money-making Venture and I'm going to do
30:39 everything in my [ __ ] power to
30:41 keep it that way okay so when you get to
30:44 the
30:45 salon I have three things I want you to
30:47 do one is just go there AIS salon.
30:52 mn. or go to the salon. A and the first
30:56 thing I want you to do is go go to the
30:58 welcome to the salon I think it defaults
31:00 to Landing you here and what you'll see
31:03 is that that cool little picture I think
31:06 that was done
31:08 in doly that's a dolly image and then uh
31:12 we talk about who we are and how we
31:14 explore and what we seek and then we
31:16 talk about our values and the values for
31:18 me are everything with this community um
31:21 so my request my humble request and I
31:25 don't do many things humbly
31:30 my humble request is please look at our
31:32 values and and like really read them
31:35 read what what they're about and why
31:36 we're doing this curiosity is one of
31:39 them
31:40 generosity and what does generosity look
31:42 like generosity looks like as you learn
31:44 something talk about it tell people what
31:47 you learned show people what you learned
31:49 share your prompt but Kyle what I want
31:52 to copyright my prompt because it's the
31:54 most genius prompt in the history of
31:55 prompt making prompters
31:58 share it
32:00 anyway none of the stuff that you build
32:02 right now is going to be valuable in 3
32:05 months because everything keeps getting
32:07 reinvented everything's changing all the
32:08 time so might as well be generous cuz
32:10 we're all trying to figure this [ __ ] out
32:13 exploration we want people that are
32:15 willing to try stuff out and step out
32:17 you know step out into the abyss
32:19 collaboration we want people that do it
32:20 together
32:22 inclusion and then empathy is the last
32:24 one because this [ __ ] is scary and Prof
32:27 found and weird and awesome and
32:30 exciting and sometimes people get really
32:33 [ __ ] wigged
32:35 out and maybe they're pissed off and
32:37 maybe they're scared and maybe it's
32:39 people at work and maybe it's your
32:41 family and maybe it's your friends so
32:44 you know being in a community of people
32:47 that you can just freely share this
32:48 stuff with knowing that it's it's going
32:51 to be okay that's what this community is
32:54 about all right so that's request number
32:56 one check out welcome welcome to the
32:57 salon request number
32:59 two value number two is
33:02 generosity what is the worst most
33:05 terrifying thing in humanity introducing
33:10 yourself to a group of strangers so my
33:12 second request is buckle up buttercup
33:15 introduce
33:17 yourself be generous introduce yourself
33:21 and don't be like a wimpy like hey I'm
33:24 Bob I like
33:26 Ai No
33:29 hey my name's Bob used to be in it and
33:32 then and then
33:35 I started a pony
33:40 farm and I and I just heard this AI
33:42 stuff was going to be cool and I could
33:43 make money with cha
33:45 P tell us what you're about tell us
33:48 what's
33:49 up and then my third
33:52 request God Kyle I thought you said it
33:54 was free this is starting to become like
33:55 a burden man I know I
34:00 suck my third request is go into the
34:03 little Community section here and and
34:05 just check things out there's a water
34:08 cooler section where you can just talk
34:10 about anything there's a showand tell
34:12 section which has become this really
34:14 cool jam session where as I'm doing
34:16 these lives people that show up here
34:19 every night when they get bored of [ __ ]
34:20 that I'm saying like they've heard me do
34:22 some version of this talk like 400 times
34:25 now so so when I'm doing this they're
34:28 out like making [ __ ] and then they're
34:30 putting it on Show and Tell and they're
34:31 putting it in the the guilds I'll talk
34:33 about the guilds and so just share stuff
34:35 here hold
34:37 please see what I mean they're trolling
34:40 me I'm nighting people so I'm now the
34:45 king it's
34:48 awesome the eagle getting the
34:51 carp beautiful that's nice Sher D look
34:55 at that that's beautiful
34:58 Joker the militant
35:01 [Laughter]
35:08 llama um so go check that out there's
35:10 also tools and resources tools and
35:12 resources is is an important one if
35:14 you're like but Kyle you've been talking
35:17 for like an hour and I don't even know
35:19 where to go do AI I don't know what to
35:21 do Kyle where do I start hey Kyle Kyle
35:24 KY Kyle listen hey how do I make m with
35:27 ch J you can make money with ch if
35:30 that's you right now welcome hope you're
35:33 enjoying things um the AI tools and
35:36 resources page on the AI Salon is this
35:39 is a list that I used to just go over
35:41 this this used to be just a uh a
35:44 PowerPoint presentation I would tell
35:45 people to screenshot this so they could
35:48 type this [ __ ] out later it now exists
35:50 in a clickable page um so start with
35:54 chat GPT that's the place to start I
35:56 then go over what are the big large
35:58 language models what are the specialty
36:00 ones I'm going to move um grock down to
36:03 the specialty ones by the way it's it's
36:05 a it's a piece of poop right
36:07 now um here's all the image Generation
36:10 stuff I added Kaa to this the other
36:12 night um Leonardo is the one we played
36:14 with last night that has gotten just
36:17 significant [ __ ] added to it um video
36:20 creation you know Runway ml is doing
36:23 amazing stuff right now P just came out
36:25 with Pika 1.0 hey Jen like I or no hey
36:29 Jen is doing video translation and
36:33 um what's it called avatars of yourself
36:38 which are mindblowing and then did just
36:41 came out with this thing called
36:43 agents where you can it's kind of like
36:46 an a hay Jen Avatar except it's
36:47 interactive so it's like good Lord that
36:50 stuff's going crazy then you got music
36:53 and audio 11 Labs doing amazing stuff
36:58 um sun. we should go check that one out
37:02 because that's probably gotten better
37:03 since we've used it last maybe what I'll
37:05 do is just I'll just sort of use this
37:07 list as a
37:08 blastoff a blastoff
37:11 session then there's 3D worlds oh and
37:13 then there's people to follow so you
37:15 should follow these people Ethan
37:17 mullik David Shapiro if David Shapiro is
37:22 is a caveat if you're geeky No actually
37:25 that's not true David Shapiro is
37:27 definitely geeky he's neuros spicy like
37:30 the rest of us um he he always wears
37:33 Star Trek Star Trek shirt when he does
37:36 his videos which I just [ __ ] love
37:38 it's like he's just [ __ ] leaning into
37:40 it um but he's a [ __ ] genius he's
37:43 written five books on AGI artificial
37:45 general intelligence he's got an AGI a
37:48 cognitive framework open source project
37:51 um and then he does all these videos on
37:53 what's the future of our world going to
37:55 look like when AGI hits and by the the
37:57 way he thinks that AGI will be here by
38:00 September of 2024 like less than a year
38:05 away um so you should follow him Paul
38:08 rater from the marketing AI Institute
38:10 and Rachel woods from AI exchange um
38:13 Rachel Rachel is a Tik tocker like me
38:17 think of think of her as the opposite of
38:20 this channel if this channel is chaos
38:23 she you know gets [ __ ] done and you know
38:26 helps you do this stuff in business um
38:28 I'll help you do the stuff stuff in
38:30 business but my my mission for you is to
38:33 go [ __ ] stuff up in business to go like
38:37 start talking about this stuff make
38:38 people uncomfortable like like start
38:41 putting yourself out there because right
38:45 now the the amount of opportunity for
38:47 anyone that gets AI literate and and
38:50 like vocally AI literate um in the next
38:54 18 months is crazy it's just crazy it's
38:56 crazy crazy crazy crazy
38:58 crazy all right so I so that's what
39:02 we're going to do we're going to do
39:03 we're going to do a sort
39:05 of tool jam session tonight but let me
39:09 let me go through Gary Bucy that's what
39:11 it was yeah some someone said I looked
39:13 like Gary buy although lately Gary
39:16 Gary's not looking too symmetrical in
39:19 the face that motorcycle accident didn't
39:21 is not aging well Philip sear Hoffman
39:25 with crazy hair works thank
39:31 Ted oh my God Bob Hamilton I have twin
39:34 boys too can relate today is is National
39:37 twin day is it really oh that's so cool
39:40 all right I'll have to go give them
39:43 [ __ ] oh man you take the Jabs with Grace
39:46 and humor Kyle Source Camp thank you so
39:48 much listen how else do you take them I
39:51 mean you know when someone comes in and
39:52 goes you know hey what's up with the
39:55 nose hair like what do you like am I
39:58 going to go cry you know my body image
40:01 is yeah I'm body positive I'm 58 with
40:05 hair growing out of places I never knew
40:07 hair could grow out of what are you
40:08 going to
40:10 do hey hey good people a human being
40:13 good to see
40:14 you my twin girl's first born turned 49
40:17 last month Papa JJ that's crazy wow
40:21 Paradigm Shift indeed I feel so lost and
40:23 behind missing a whole week a human
40:26 being you you can't miss a week I
40:28 thought we've talked about this before
40:31 once you come to the AI learning lab you
40:34 can't miss a week you can't miss a
40:37 night now granted in the in the past
40:40 week I have had I think three or four
40:45 evenings where where I get done with
40:47 doing this and I'm like okay that was
40:50 the just the worst that was the worst
40:52 [ __ ] like I'm sorry to everyone who
40:54 came here so I've had some stinkers
40:56 recently but but whatever I think it's
40:59 cuz Mars is in retrograde or something
41:01 Mercury's in retrograde something went
41:03 in retrograde it's not my fault I take
41:06 no responsibility when I have a bad
41:08 night here okay
41:10 okay yeah Peter yeah Hey listen we're
41:14 going to need you to go on ahead and
41:16 come on in on
41:18 Saturday
41:19 yeah
41:21 okay yeah yeah all right then oh hey and
41:27 uh Peter one more thing um yeah we're
41:31 going to need you to go on ahead and
41:33 come on in on Sunday
41:36 to
41:40 okay I got my oneye anniversary AI
41:43 t-shirt today ay human being I'm so
41:46 excited to wear it oh that's so cool i'
41:48 I got my I got my non one-year
41:50 anniversary Salon
41:52 shirt like a I don't know four or five
41:55 days ago and I and I like it but I want
41:57 my one-year anniversary one I have a
41:58 hoodie coming and a and a t-shirt so and
42:01 those things that's that's collector's
42:03 item people if you didn't get the oneye
42:05 anniversary shirt you're going to have
42:06 to wait till next year although I think
42:09 we're going to do we're going to do uh
42:11 sort of custom designs of that because
42:13 the logo is really good for
42:15 it I don't want to start dating again
42:17 because I'll miss out on the AI learning
42:19 lab no that's that's not good that's not
42:22 good live your life but bring your date
42:27 that's what you should do you you need
42:29 to start dating with someone that you
42:31 can sit here and watch this
42:34 with oh it's a
42:36 sickness they don't call them the
42:38 Irregulars for nothing the people that
42:40 show up here
42:43 regularly oh that's very sweet
42:46 though oh Adobe lost their figma m&a bid
42:50 not happening will sting yeah I don't
42:53 know I it seems like the design
42:55 Community was none too happy about figma
42:58 going to ad Adobe because I think
43:01 there's a lot of designers out there
43:03 that don't want to pay the $400 a month
43:06 e extortion fee that adobe charges I
43:09 mean Adobe software is [ __ ] insane
43:13 it's just insanely
43:14 expensive we've got like three licenses
43:17 at my company it's like the like the
43:18 amount of money we spend on that [ __ ]
43:20 and listen it's good software I don't
43:23 fault them for it but you know in my day
43:27 you'd go down to the Best Buy and you'd
43:29 buy a box with shrink wrap on it and you
43:32 own the
43:34 software and you know you you'd upgrade
43:37 when it got tired and you could trade
43:39 serial numbers with each
43:42 other you can't do that
43:44 anymore so it's like it's just it's it's
43:47 [ __ ] riping expensive for for you
43:50 know solo preneurs it just is it's it's
43:52 a lot and yeah there are Alternatives
43:57 but the the the Alternatives kind of
43:59 suck and you got to figure them out you
44:01 got to I don't know it's just a mess so
44:04 anyway um I got the job at Adobe found
44:07 out today Suzanne
44:10 congratulations holy crap so so
44:12 yesterday an an Murphy breaks the news
44:15 to us that she's been invited to speak
44:16 at open AI she's she's doing using AI to
44:21 do all sorts of nonprofit fundraising
44:24 and she's she's like a woman on a tear I
44:26 think she when she got into this AI
44:29 stuff I think she set a personal goal
44:31 for herself to train 1,500 or a thousand
44:35 people on AI within the year she she's
44:39 she's amazing so she's going to speak at
44:42 open
44:43 AI um you just got the job at Adobe
44:46 congratulations man that's crazy that's
44:50 awesome
44:55 uh Joe mom was so
44:59 sad I guess commenting on Andrea not
45:02 going on dates
45:04 well we all have choices in life if this
45:07 channel is nothing else it is it is an
45:10 exercise in bad Life Choices so welcome
45:14 to the club um did anyone else get an
45:17 email from open AI today no what did it
45:20 say oh like asking them to
45:24 go no I'm actually going to check my
45:27 email and then I realized oh it's
45:30 Joker Joker Joker lives up to his name
45:34 you know you can't you you really
45:37 shouldn't put put a name like joker out
45:40 in the world if you're not going to be
45:42 one right consistently daily he's
45:45 consistent shutting down all the little
45:51 Bots oh man yes Suzanne that's amazing
45:55 congratulations
45:56 where what group are you working with
45:58 Suzanne cuz I know I know John Knack in
46:01 the AI group really well he he and I
46:03 used to work together John Knack from
46:05 Adobe was an intern at agency.com
46:09 so he he was an intern and we made him
46:11 do shitty work I made him do some shitty
46:14 photoshopping work and uh now he's this
46:17 big power power one the contract job
46:20 focuses on workfront and a dam
46:24 integration with their gen Studio that's
46:27 cool okay generative AI
46:30 platform that's really interesting we're
46:32 actually talking at Story vine we're
46:34 talking to a group out of Europe that's
46:36 the the marketing automation group um
46:39 and the the damn
46:43 folks the damn folks we're talking to
46:45 the damn folks so as as you start to get
46:47 your uh your feet on the ground in there
46:50 we should talk because um I can connect
46:53 you with the people that we know that's
46:55 super cool damn [ __ ]
46:58 awesome very very cool you see what
47:01 happens here
47:02 people you come here you're like but KY
47:06 I don't have and I'm like just go talk
47:08 about AI oh it's going to be
47:09 uncomfortable people think I'm weird
47:12 well you are
47:13 weird you're watching an old man on Tik
47:17 Tock
47:18 nightly so just be more
47:22 weird and then they go out and they talk
47:24 about this [ __ ] and then it like it it's
47:27 amazing things it's
47:28 amazing it's with their marketing team
47:31 that is awesome that's so
47:33 awesome patient zero I need a job keep
47:36 hanging out here keep I seriously keep
47:38 learning about AI get AI literate what
47:41 is AI literate mean AI literate does not
47:44 mean you're an expert at any of this
47:46 [ __ ] AI literate means you know that
47:49 it's here you know what it can do you
47:52 know what it can't
47:53 do you've tried to make it do do [ __ ]
47:57 you have strategies for how to make it
48:00 do [ __ ] better and when new stuff comes
48:03 along you know enough about it to know
48:05 ooh that's really important how do you
48:08 know that's important because you've hit
48:10 that brick wall 30 times and then a
48:13 technology comes out that removes that
48:15 wall and you're like oh I know what to
48:17 do with this technology now that's what
48:19 being a literate means it you don't have
48:21 to be an expert like one of the things I
48:23 consistently hear in this channel is
48:25 people go and like I just got asked to
48:27 do a workshop I feel like a dumb dumb I
48:29 don't really know anything I'm just like
48:31 a week ahead of these people that's a
48:33 big that's a big
48:36 lead like that's all you need right now
48:39 it's one of the amazing things about
48:41 being this early in a technological
48:44 Revolution is that the thing that feels
48:47 common sense and ridiculously easy to
48:49 you will feel like [ __ ] magic to
48:53 someone who hasn't done this stuff
48:57 I talk about it constantly but I need
48:59 new audiences cuz my husband and kids
49:02 are over
49:04 it oh I know it's so true well that's
49:08 kind of why I started this lunatick you
49:10 should absolutely you're your Tik Tok
49:13 Tik toks that you've been doing are
49:14 really good you should you should
49:15 definitely keep keep putting stuff out
49:17 there you'll you'll find other community
49:19 and I think you're you're you're getting
49:21 pretty connected in the AI salon
49:24 so uh
49:26 um all right let's we we'll get we'll
49:29 get going here on showing showing how to
49:32 do stuff but this is
49:34 fun this is fun amem needs AI it
49:40 does why is it that Bing image creator
49:43 doesn't get it right even when you
49:45 specify the model and Company okay so
49:47 Phoenix reborn so the the way the image
49:51 generation tools
49:53 work is not how it seems like they work
49:56 [Laughter]
49:58 which is a shitty answer um the fact
50:01 that they can spell at all is actually a
50:04 miracle if you understand how they work
50:07 um so they're just they're just not they
50:11 just are not accurate but basically what
50:13 they do what it seems like they're doing
50:16 is it seems like they're copying and
50:18 pasting so when you ask for like a
50:22 1973 Ford
50:24 Torino you assume it knows what a 1973
50:28 Ford Torino is and it goes and finds a
50:30 bunch of Ford Torino pictures and then
50:32 it it copies the grill from this one and
50:35 the fender from that one and the roof
50:36 from that one and the wheels from that
50:38 one it's not what it's
50:41 doing the the the the way the image
50:44 generation tools work is they're sort of
50:47 mathematically images are are tagged
50:50 right so so they tag a bunch of images
50:52 1973 Ford
50:54 Torino and then those images get
50:58 abstracted into this noisy image and
51:01 then and then they get um how do I put
51:05 it they get sort of mathematically
51:07 abstracted into this massive
51:10 mathematical
51:12 space that just has all these noised
51:14 images that are just like random pixels
51:17 and then when you type your words in it
51:19 uses a combination of a large language
51:21 model to find the words and then it
51:24 brings together it amalgamates
51:26 like like thousands of these pixelated
51:30 images into a single random noise image
51:34 and then it denises that image over like
51:38 50 steps using the same algorithm that
51:40 was used to to noise all the original
51:43 ones so the fact that it makes anything
51:46 even remotely recognizable is a
51:50 mathematical
51:53 Miracle um the fact that it can get
51:55 words even close to right is staggering
51:58 so so all you need to know is the reason
52:01 it it is shitty at at being predictable
52:04 is that we're we're very early in the
52:06 technology one thing that none of these
52:08 tools are doing right now is looking at
52:10 what they produced so you type in a
52:13 prompt and chat GPT goes and essentially
52:16 performs a mathematical function and it
52:19 vomits words out based on a probability
52:23 engine it doesn't know what it wrote and
52:26 that's why when it when they talk about
52:27 it hallucinating it's because it's it's
52:30 literally generating new original
52:32 content from just some vomi of words
52:35 same with the images it's just sort of
52:36 vomiting out
52:38 pixels systems in the future will likely
52:41 have another layer sitting in front of
52:44 that where it will generate whatever it
52:45 generates and then the system will look
52:47 at what it generated and go is that good
52:50 and if not then it'll probably
52:52 dynamically fix your image and fix typos
52:55 and [ __ ] like that we're just not there
52:56 yet so just hang out don't use big words
52:59 please okay I don't know what oh did I
53:02 use a I used
53:07 amalgamate squish you you squish the
53:10 pixels together sorry about that sdxl
53:13 turbo does it in five steps now crazy I
53:15 know Pate isn't that crazy sdxl turbo is
53:18 nuts what's the what's the site uh that
53:22 that is uh is doing sdxl turbo right now
53:27 I've demoed it a couple of times if
53:28 someone remembers that put it put it out
53:31 there Dolly 3 looked at what it created
53:34 for me wait Kyle Dolly 3 looked at what
53:37 it created for me last night
53:39 really in in cat gbt Joker are you
53:43 serious cuz that's a big deal if it's if
53:47 it's doing that then something's
53:51 different that's a that's a big deal why
53:53 are you on chat gbt 3.5 right now um
53:57 it's there's a technical term for it I'm
53:59 a uh what's it called it's a
54:01 uh oh it's coming to me uh loser that's
54:05 what that's that's the reason I'll
54:07 switch over to actually the the reason
54:10 that okay Joker holy crap if it's doing
54:18 that all right so the thing I said these
54:22 things will be doing at some point in
54:24 the future it looks Poss like it's doing
54:26 it now which that's the other thing to
54:28 just get used to with this technology is
54:32 it
54:34 is um once you get on this train like
54:38 the reason people come back here night
54:41 after night other than just to watch the
54:42 train wreck of my
54:45 personality is
54:48 is it just on a on a regular basis like
54:51 multiple times a week some new thing
54:55 comes out that you can't believe we're
54:58 lucky enough to be able to play with it
55:01 like multiple times a week and it's like
55:04 like once you're on this train like once
55:05 you've seen holy [ __ ] these tools change
55:08 everything for every industry
55:12 essentially like once you've had your
55:14 red pill moment and you can't look back
55:17 then then I think you just need to stay
55:20 curious about it and then if you do what
55:23 you're rewarded with is like mult
55:25 multiple times a
55:27 week Kevin mallister moments I see that
55:30 the image generated still does not match
55:32 the description of
55:35 Colombia as provided in oh that's what
55:39 it
55:40 said
55:41 huh yeah so that's the that's the
55:44 beginning so Joker if it's doing that
55:48 that's absolutely the beginning it did
55:50 that three times with no input from me
55:54 holy [ __ ] well we'll look at it tonight
55:56 I'll I'll play with chat gp4 that demo
56:01 it with Joker all right I don't know how
56:03 to do that I guess I can well let me I
56:07 last time I brought Joker up he was like
56:09 I don't know if I want to be on screen
56:10 so I'm I'm happy to bring him up but I
56:12 can I can probably demo
56:14 it is it using chat GPT 4.5 I've heard
56:18 rumors well so that's that's what I'm
56:20 sort of getting at thankful Jones is
56:23 there have been rumors for 3 days
56:26 that chat
56:28 GPT is using GPT
56:31 4.5 Ethan mik three days ago said chat
56:36 PT just suddenly got better with no
56:38 explanation so it's possible if if if if
56:42 what Joker's talking about is true if
56:44 it's generating images and then
56:45 commenting on it actually let's let's
56:48 let me flip over to chat gp4 we'll come
56:51 back to
56:53 3.5 um
56:57 let's see
57:03 um create an image of an ice cream truck
57:08 that has the
57:12 words AI learning
57:15 lab on the
57:18 side
57:20 and make sure the spelling
57:26 is
57:28 right all right let's just let's see
57:31 what it does let's see what it do
57:36 here now one of the things you also
57:40 probably may not know about this channel
57:43 is that Sam mman the CEO of chat GPT is
57:47 really jealous of me so sometimes people
57:50 have access to technologies that I get
57:52 slow rolled on cuz Sam's Sam's got a
57:54 little bit of a
57:55 situation here's an image with the words
57:59 AI learning LA on lab on the side the
58:01 setting is a sunny Suburban Street and
58:03 the truck is designed and colorful with
58:06 playful patterns it spelled it right but
58:10 it didn't mention that it spelled it
58:12 right um actually let me ask did you
58:19 get
58:20 [Music]
58:21 um the spelling
58:24 right
58:26 it should be able to tell me
58:28 that yes I ensured the spelling of AI
58:31 learning lab was correct on the side of
58:33 the car if you'd like to verify you can
58:36 take a closer look at the image provided
58:38 okay uh now make one
58:41 with
58:43 um you
58:47 can
58:49 make $3 signs with chat GP
58:56 T and I'm going to do three
59:06 E's your face is blocking the image Kyle
59:10 I I hear that so
59:16 often sorry about
59:19 that Kyle your face is in the way
59:23 dude uh yeah Kyle listen anyway uh um
59:27 about your face listen we have a we have
59:30 a situation I'll put screenshots up and
59:32 show and tell oh that's great Joker okay
59:34 great thank you that's great and I'll
59:37 I'll I'll do my best to be face aware as
59:40 they say in the in the
59:42 biz you can make money with chat gbt wow
59:47 I I got to tell you
59:49 so it got it added an extra tea but that
59:54 actually kind of makes sense it added a
59:56 period there I I ask for that phrase a
59:59 lot I have never gotten it I think this
1:00:03 might have gotten
1:00:05 better
1:00:09 huh
1:00:11 huh
1:00:13 um
1:00:16 make it a
1:00:19 plane um pulling a
1:00:23 banner that that says
1:00:32 um oh wait Banner says well hold please
1:00:37 is
1:00:38 easy let's see a banner that says
1:00:42 AI learning lab
1:00:54 rocks okay by the
1:00:57 way open AI for about a month blocked
1:01:02 new users from using chat
1:01:05 gp4 AI learning lab
1:01:08 rocks I okay if you've been on this
1:01:11 channel for even a few
1:01:18 moments it it never spells learning
1:01:21 correctly and here it didn't quite here
1:01:23 but it's That's mighty
1:01:25 close and it got the capitalization
1:01:27 right I I think this might have gotten
1:01:29 better I think I think Dolly 3 has
1:01:32 gotten
1:01:34 better now listen pate's in here going
1:01:37 um Kyle it's not uh statistically
1:01:40 relevant you've only generated three
1:01:42 images and you're claiming it to be uh
1:01:44 um a statistical probability that the uh
1:01:48 the quality of the the image spelling is
1:01:50 correct now does Pate talk like that
1:01:53 absolutely not and am I totally trolling
1:01:55 him
1:01:59 absolutely P's actually a really nice
1:02:01 guy
1:02:03 um and he's good at the math stuff so he
1:02:07 understands things
1:02:08 like standard deviations and statistical
1:02:11 relevance I do not I have a degree in
1:02:14 acting so I'm like oh it looks better it
1:02:16 therefore it is
1:02:19 better but this looks better this this
1:02:22 looks
1:02:23 better by the way is anyone else
1:02:25 freaking out that the um that
1:02:28 the that the banner that the plane is is
1:02:31 dragging somehow caught up to the plane
1:02:34 and it's going faster than
1:02:35 it I think it's working way better
1:02:38 better than I would have accepted
1:02:39 something has changed okay if if P
1:02:42 modder PhD who works at Google said
1:02:45 something got better I I I agree th this
1:02:49 is AI learning lab on its own and chat
1:02:53 gbt in particular getting it to say chat
1:02:55 GPT has been really hard it's normally
1:02:57 like 10 10 images let's do
1:03:01 um San castle made out of the
1:03:07 words did chat
1:03:12 gbt
1:03:13 and
1:03:16 Dolly 3 just get
1:03:21 way better question mark
1:03:26 quote and I suppose I should use the
1:03:29 word made there we
1:03:32 go this is cuckoo I can say the images
1:03:35 in the past four screenshots from top to
1:03:38 bottom okay hang on so while that's
1:03:40 generating our sand castle let's let's
1:03:42 flip over to AI salon and Joker put the
1:03:46 screenshots in here
1:03:50 of the wait what's going on where is it
1:03:54 okay here we
1:03:58 go so Joker from from bottom to top okay
1:04:02 go from bottom to top okay hang
1:04:10 on wait where where are they oh here we
1:04:15 go from bottom to top
1:04:19 okay so he created an oh that's
1:04:21 beautiful who did that Daisy Thomas look
1:04:24 at that
1:04:25 oh the classic car companion
1:04:28 GPT who did that did you do
1:04:33 that oh lunatick you [ __ ]
1:04:36 rock so is this is this the link to your
1:04:40 GPT by the way this is this is yes it is
1:04:43 um this is why we call it um chat add in
1:04:46 [Laughter]
1:04:50 here also wait how did you share that
1:04:53 because it looks like it actually
1:04:56 included an image with your GPT is that
1:04:58 new too oh no it's GPT combo okay all
1:05:02 right cool so go to showand tell and you
1:05:05 can grab um lunaticks Daisy's um classic
1:05:09 card GPT that's super cool okay sorry
1:05:12 Joker you were you were you were
1:05:14 mentioning so let's create another one
1:05:17 ensuring that colia is depicted with
1:05:20 spikes on her head that aligns with the
1:05:22 traditional portrayal Prov ided okay so
1:05:25 there produced the
1:05:29 image let's try once
1:05:35 more I apologize daddy Joker do you tell
1:05:39 your GPT to call you Daddy that in your
1:05:43 in your special
1:05:47 instructions I apologize daddy the
1:05:50 request was not fulfilled correctly as
1:05:52 the image still does not match the
1:05:54 provid Ed reference of columia let's
1:05:56 attempt this once
1:05:58 more and then it did I see that the
1:06:01 images image still does not match the
1:06:03 description as provided I will cease to
1:06:07 attempt to generate this image as the
1:06:08 details required are outside of the
1:06:10 current
1:06:11 capabilities that's a big
1:06:14 deal it's been bad for a long time it
1:06:18 being this correct multiple times in a
1:06:20 row is
1:06:21 about oh
1:06:23 0 0 1% thank you Pate for backing me up
1:06:28 I love it when my instinct and math go
1:06:30 go together it started doing that on its
1:06:34 own yeah that's that that is absolutely
1:06:36 new Behavior it's absolutely new
1:06:40 Behavior which says to
1:06:43 me if it's doing that for Del it's not
1:06:46 just it's this is not just about Del I
1:06:49 don't
1:06:51 think
1:06:53 hm
1:06:55 I bet it's doing that with language too
1:06:57 I wonder and with language it's going to
1:06:59 be much easier for it to fix but the
1:07:00 fact that it's repr prompting itself to
1:07:02 try to get the image right and and it's
1:07:05 using GPT Vision th this feels this
1:07:07 feels like new stuff oh that one's cool
1:07:10 who did that olssen
1:07:12 auto that's beautiful look at that
1:07:15 that's a nice one AI learning lab with
1:07:18 the
1:07:19 robot damn robots is tasty mhm I like a
1:07:23 good robot m M tastes like oil I like
1:07:27 some oil [ __ ] around and find
1:07:32 out Troy
1:07:34 McKenna thank
1:07:35 [Laughter]
1:07:38 you Chris mcab I'm sick oh no it got
1:07:43 this right first try yeah we love Pate
1:07:47 we we do and it got that right as well I
1:07:50 mean the L is sort of buried underneath
1:07:53 that cont Trail right there but
1:07:56 still wow people so you heard it here
1:08:00 first did chat
1:08:03 GPT and this was supposed to be Dolly 3
1:08:06 just get way better like this is not bad
1:08:10 here's the image of the castle on the
1:08:12 beach with the words the castle features
1:08:15 tall towers like here see here it didn't
1:08:18 it didn't check it and tell me that it
1:08:20 it should get it right I'm going to say
1:08:24 can you look at the image and tell me if
1:08:30 you got the
1:08:33 spelling
1:08:37 right I'm unable to visually inspect it
1:08:44 huh I'll just say you did not please see
1:08:50 see what I told you before that Sam
1:08:51 alman's jealous of me and he gives
1:08:54 people like Joker access to tools like
1:08:57 we'll check the image for you before
1:08:58 they give it to me this is this is an
1:09:01 example of the pettiness of Sam
1:09:04 Alman like like just because Joker told
1:09:08 his chat GPD to call him daddy
1:09:10 apparently Sam thinks that's funny and
1:09:12 he's like here Joker you can have new
1:09:14 features Kyle on the other hand uh yeah
1:09:17 no it's it's exhausting people it's
1:09:21 exhausting I try I do my best
1:09:24 tell it check your own Generations from
1:09:26 here on out for accuracy yeah but it
1:09:29 doesn't look like it looks like I may
1:09:31 not have it although it it is getting
1:09:32 the things right okay you did not please
1:09:35 what did you say check your own
1:09:36 Generations
1:09:39 please check your
1:09:43 own
1:09:47 Generations from here on out what did
1:09:51 you say for accuracy
1:09:53 for accuracy Sam Alman P just said Sam
1:09:57 Alman secretly prefers
1:10:01 Gemini that's pretty good for
1:10:07 accuracy I apologize for the
1:10:14 oversight we just go try
1:10:23 again it's because he's
1:10:26 daddy oh my God uh a Chromebook with a
1:10:30 Celeron can do this yes so Freddy what
1:10:33 I'm on right here is just the the open
1:10:35 AI the chat GPT website so if you if you
1:10:38 take your Chromebook and point it to
1:10:40 chat.
1:10:41 open.com that's chat GPT 3.5
1:10:46 now um if you get chat GPT plus which is
1:10:50 20 bucks a month that's the thing that's
1:10:53 going to allow you you to do this image
1:10:55 generation within chat gbt if you can't
1:10:59 afford that 20 bucks a month you can use
1:11:02 uh Microsoft's co-pilot which is a free
1:11:05 version of chat GPT so let me go show
1:11:07 you that and I'm going to it's going to
1:11:09 be interesting to see if uh because this
1:11:12 this was broken the other night I tried
1:11:14 this so go to I'm going to try
1:11:21 co-pilot uh microsoft.com
1:11:31 uh let's see make me
1:11:35 an image of an ice
1:11:40 cream truck with the
1:11:43 words AI learning lab on the
1:11:49 side so it it would not make images for
1:11:52 me I'll try to create that okay
1:11:57 wait oh yeah it's broken look at that
1:11:59 look at what it's doing it's typing the
1:12:01 code right
1:12:06 now
1:12:10 huh try
1:12:19 again one of 30 yeah this is
1:12:22 broken weird
1:12:25 new
1:12:29 topic
1:12:33 make photo of an
1:12:38 angry Hedgehog standing on its hind
1:12:47 feet oh man this is totally broken
1:12:51 Sydney Sydney Sydney is sick I [ __ ]
1:12:57 look okay so that doesn't work okay
1:13:00 disregard that for now they've got
1:13:01 obviously go fix this um this experience
1:13:04 by the way of this thing just being
1:13:06 janky as crap that is where all of these
1:13:10 tools are right now I uploaded an image
1:13:12 first by the way oh cuz it was getting
1:13:15 it wrong beforehand oh that's
1:13:18 interesting let's see what it did did it
1:13:20 get it right this time I've created a
1:13:22 new thing the castle feature
1:13:24 and okay so let's see GPT and
1:13:29 Dolly did I don't see the did over here
1:13:32 but it says GPT and Dolly just get way
1:13:37 better it's this is definitely getting
1:13:40 better this is definitely getting better
1:13:43 but it's it's still a mess like over
1:13:44 here is all a mess but it's like GPT and
1:13:47 and it got the Amper sand
1:13:50 Dolly just just and then gu instead of
1:13:54 get way
1:13:56 better but with with stuff that long it
1:13:59 was getting it pretty wrong so
1:14:05 interesting um Ang uh let's see make an
1:14:10 image of an
1:14:12 angry
1:14:14 Hedgehog on its hind
1:14:18 feet uh uh uh
1:14:20 uh I'll try to create that
1:14:25 all right now it's working okay we broke
1:14:28 it before I made Sydney I got Sydney a
1:14:30 little sick to her stomach there she she
1:14:33 was vomiting she was vomiting up
1:14:37 bits um experiment have chat pt4 pick a
1:14:42 random feline passage from the new temp
1:14:46 New Testament with
1:14:48 artwork that's just you're trying to get
1:14:50 me banned off here aren't you so it did
1:14:54 that it did that pretty
1:14:56 good so anyway okay so if if you can't
1:15:01 afford chat GPT you can go to co-pilot
1:15:04 microsoft.com this is chat
1:15:09 gp4
1:15:11 um come on new
1:15:20 topic it's it's but it's it's not as
1:15:22 good as
1:15:24 as open AI if you can afford the 20
1:15:26 bucks a month chat gp4 from open AI is
1:15:29 really really good um let me do a new a
1:15:32 new
1:15:33 chat let's try to upload something
1:15:44 here that's not a bad
1:15:46 one let's try that one so this is one I
1:15:50 think this is one Danielle made so we're
1:15:53 going to upload that and I'm going to
1:15:54 say um
1:15:56 please recreate this
1:16:00 in
1:16:06 marble and if you're like but Kyle you
1:16:08 had a typo it doesn't care about typos
1:16:11 it's one of the miraculous things about
1:16:13 chat GPT I think the biggest feature of
1:16:15 it is you can make typos and it
1:16:17 understands what you meant not what you
1:16:20 typed and it doesn't make fun of you
1:16:22 like like your work cut colleagues do
1:16:24 you know Kyle you didn't spell that
1:16:26 right you know it's an i before an e
1:16:29 Kyle you know have you ever typed before
1:16:31 did you learn typing are you a touch
1:16:33 typist are you just hunting and pecking
1:16:36 like all that crap oh look at
1:16:39 that did it let's see please recreate
1:16:42 that here's an image of the words AI
1:16:46 learning lab depicted oh it's going slow
1:16:50 depicted in
1:16:52 marble
1:16:55 as
1:16:57 requested spelling is
1:17:02 wrong yeah it's not doing it for me
1:17:04 Joker I don't know what's up with that
1:17:05 but you were using the mobile app so as
1:17:08 we know the mobile app and the web um
1:17:11 application are two different things so
1:17:13 it's possible something's going on
1:17:17 there um cuckoo all
1:17:21 right Monday Night Football see hux pull
1:17:24 ahead 28 seconds left holy
1:17:27 crap
1:17:29 wow all right let me go
1:17:37 look
1:17:39 wait
1:17:42 Seahawks what are the Packers in New
1:17:44 York live
1:17:52 now
1:17:59 [Music]
1:18:01 here we go Seahawks
1:18:04 Eagles Seahawks Eagles 28 seconds
1:18:11 left Seahawks win
1:18:14 2017 nice all
1:18:22 right
1:18:23 [Laughter]
1:18:26 go directly to image Creator yeah
1:18:27 exactly wait is co-pilot different than
1:18:29 being image Creator okay so let me
1:18:32 explain to you okay this has just gotten
1:18:34 worse and worse and worse the the uh
1:18:37 doing it based on its image um so yeah
1:18:41 mine is not checking its spelling but
1:18:42 whatever okay so let me let
1:18:44 me let me explain to you some things
1:18:50 so I don't even know where to begin
1:18:53 okay if you go to
1:19:00 bing.com you get to Bing and it says
1:19:02 introducing the new Bing this is
1:19:08 new what are all these
1:19:10 things is that weather what what are
1:19:17 these oh those are those are stupid
1:19:20 those are stupid
1:19:22 frames
1:19:24 that's actually kind of
1:19:30 cute that's just dumb that's just dumb
1:19:34 don't don't worry about whether or not
1:19:36 we can find you anything look at the
1:19:37 cool pictures you can put behind your
1:19:39 chat or be your
1:19:42 search okay so if you go to bing.com and
1:19:46 you go to ask Bing chat or if you click
1:19:49 on the chat up
1:19:51 here that's the same as going to chat.
1:19:56 bing.com and then what you see
1:20:00 is summarize the main points of elitist
1:20:03 research on AI okay so it's it's gez
1:20:07 what the hell is that doing it just went
1:20:11 off so anyway so this is this is
1:20:15 Microsoft's version
1:20:17 of chat gbt
1:20:19 4 um and it's got one one cool thing
1:20:22 that they've they've got in here is more
1:20:24 creative more balanced and more
1:20:26 precise um and what what this is is sort
1:20:30 of the
1:20:31 consumer
1:20:33 um consumer access to a
1:20:36 thing in the chat GPT API called
1:20:39 temperature so if if it's more precise
1:20:42 it it's going to it's going to be more
1:20:44 precise less creative and if it's more
1:20:46 creative it's more creative and balanced
1:20:47 is where it defaults okay so this is
1:20:52 what Microsoft
1:20:57 announced in I think it was in February
1:21:00 of 2022 and it was using chat GPT
1:21:03 3.5 and then when chat GPT 4 came out
1:21:06 whenever it came out in April this
1:21:08 switched over so this has been
1:21:11 Microsoft's version of chat
1:21:15 GPT 4 for a while now it can do images
1:21:20 using dolly3 it's free it's connected to
1:21:22 the internet so there there's a lot of
1:21:24 good things about it I'm in the edge
1:21:27 browser so in the upper right hand
1:21:29 corner of the edge browser is a new icon
1:21:33 it used to be the Bing icon but now it
1:21:38 is this thing called
1:21:40 co-pilot and so co-pilot is Bing chat
1:21:44 but it's rebranded co-pilot because this
1:21:46 is where their branding is going so what
1:21:49 you're seeing here is Microsoft is
1:21:53 splitting off Bing as its own thing and
1:21:57 co-pilot as its own thing Microsoft is
1:22:00 betting the farm on co-pilot so GitHub
1:22:03 co-pilot is the same co-pilot here
1:22:06 co-pilot in Windows 11 is the same
1:22:08 co-pilot here this co-pilot in Edge in
1:22:12 the edge browser is the new assistant
1:22:16 that's living across all of Office
1:22:18 365 and all of Dynamics and all of azure
1:22:23 and all of Windows and right so all of
1:22:26 the all of the
1:22:28 Microsoft GPT implementation is moving
1:22:32 to co-pilot
1:22:35 branding
1:22:37 okay
1:22:39 now so just know that that split is
1:22:42 happening so one of the reasons there's
1:22:44 confusion is that there's confusion at
1:22:46 Microsoft about what's their lead brand
1:22:48 when it comes to this AI well there's
1:22:50 not
1:22:52 confusion they were tying it to Bing is
1:22:56 co-pilot
1:22:59 multimodal it it it sort of is I don't
1:23:03 think it
1:23:05 has um let me see if if the co-pilot tab
1:23:08 has it in it no so it sort of is you can
1:23:13 upload an image here but you can't
1:23:17 upload it doesn't have
1:23:20 um code interpreter in it yet but it's
1:23:23 does have you can upload an image so I
1:23:25 can upload an image here here let me
1:23:27 show
1:23:29 you I'm going to upload an image from
1:23:32 this device and we're going to go to
1:23:36 desktop and we're going to go
1:23:38 here and we're going to go what is this
1:23:44 question
1:23:46 mark
1:23:48 [Music]
1:23:51 uh
1:23:53 privacy blur hides faces from Bing chat
1:23:56 so one of the annoying things about Bing
1:23:58 chat and co-pilot is the safety guard
1:24:00 rails are really strict and they're
1:24:02 really [ __ ]
1:24:04 annoying this is a graphical
1:24:06 representation or logo for the AI
1:24:08 learning lab the image shows the AI
1:24:10 learning lab in bold 3D letters so so
1:24:14 it's multimodal in that it can see
1:24:16 images and it can make images um but
1:24:19 it's not doing it's not doing um Co
1:24:23 code interpreter yet which if you don't
1:24:26 know what code interpreter is I'll I'll
1:24:28 tell you that at some point here
1:24:31 okay so you've got Bing chat is chat gp4
1:24:37 if you go to
1:24:38 bing.com SLC
1:24:41 create then that is so I'm going to
1:24:45 bing.com
1:24:47 create then that is a standalone image
1:24:50 generation tool okay so it is Dolly 3 as
1:24:56 a standalone image generation tool so
1:24:59 here I can go make me an image of an ice
1:25:06 cream truck with the
1:25:10 words AI learning lab on the side by the
1:25:15 way thank you to Ted who did the first
1:25:19 AI learning lab ice cream truck that's
1:25:22 my inspiration
1:25:27 here all right and so this is going off
1:25:30 and doing it couple of things that are
1:25:33 super [ __ ] annoying about this is it
1:25:36 still only makes Square images so Dolly
1:25:39 2 used to be square images only and then
1:25:42 when Dolly 3 came out it allowed you to
1:25:46 do wide and tall images as well as
1:25:49 square ones um but Microsoft for
1:25:51 whatever reason even though it's Dolly 3
1:25:54 is not doing that so AI learning lab
1:25:57 sort of spelled
1:26:00 right no that's spelled right isn't
1:26:03 it and it's spelled right
1:26:06 twice no this is learing AI learing lab
1:26:10 here AI learning lab here that's pretty
1:26:12 good AI learning lab is good AI learning
1:26:17 lab is close the Mad Lab yes correct
1:26:21 that is that is an
1:26:23 accurate I think Dolly 3 got better this
1:26:26 is weird still it still got some some
1:26:29 jankiness to it but huh so anyway okay
1:26:33 so this is
1:26:35 bing.com create which is the Bing image
1:26:39 Creator and then you have co-pilot
1:26:44 microsoft.com so this is also th this is
1:26:49 essentially identical to chat .
1:26:54 bing.com but it's co-pilot and so and
1:26:58 see see where it's okay if if you know
1:27:01 anything about um Fortune 500
1:27:07 companies um there's a hint here about
1:27:10 what's going
1:27:14 on see see wait hang on we got to be
1:27:18 able to zoom there we go see compare the
1:27:21 word co-pilot and its logo with the word
1:27:24 Bing and its logo see how teeny tiny
1:27:27 Bing is that means the Bing team lost
1:27:31 this
1:27:34 fight that that is here's the future
1:27:38 here's the
1:27:39 past so that's why I think you should
1:27:42 just bookmark copilot microsoft.com but
1:27:45 it's good to know about the other ones
1:27:46 because if this one stops working just
1:27:48 go to chat. bing.com all right so so oh
1:27:54 good lordy lordy lordy all right
1:27:56 so
1:27:58 um have you attempted to explore its
1:28:00 true limitations uh I try to every night
1:28:04 but I don't know what that means Phoenix
1:28:07 reborn always uses precise it depends on
1:28:10 the work you do a lot of the work I do
1:28:12 is sort of marketing ideation stuff and
1:28:14 in that case I want it to be creative so
1:28:16 depending on your use case it it does
1:28:19 make sense Kyle what is the knowledge
1:28:21 limitation of chat GPT before you talk
1:28:23 about guard rails often
1:28:26 okay
1:28:28 so
1:28:32 um one of the things
1:28:38 that people in this industry talk a lot
1:28:42 about is
1:28:43 alignment and when they talk about
1:28:45 alignment what they're talking about
1:28:47 here let me let me flip
1:28:49 my my camera for a second
1:29:03 um one of the things they talk about I
1:29:06 don't I don't have enough browser tabs
1:29:08 for all this I know it's exhausting
1:29:09 isn't it
1:29:11 Vicki
1:29:13 um they they talk about this word
1:29:15 alignment and what alignment basically
1:29:18 means is you have humans and they've got
1:29:22 their imperatives and their imperatives
1:29:24 are things like let's try to stay alive
1:29:26 and let's try to be prosperous and let's
1:29:28 not try to be [ __ ] to each other
1:29:31 although in this country for the past 10
1:29:33 years or so we've we've gone the other
1:29:35 direction but you know in general right
1:29:38 we we've got we are generally aligned as
1:29:40 humans that we want to we want to
1:29:42 progress
1:29:45 forward AI models also have imperatives
1:29:49 and if they are not aligned with humans
1:29:53 at some point as the AI gets more
1:29:55 powerful if if the AI says hey these
1:29:59 humans are getting in our way let's get
1:30:01 rid of them that's the sort of Doomsday
1:30:03 scenario that people talk about they so
1:30:06 so we want AI aligned with humans so
1:30:10 that's part of
1:30:11 it the second part is these these models
1:30:16 so so what they've done is they've
1:30:21 um
1:30:23 they took three or four years to find as
1:30:27 much data as they could on the public
1:30:29 internet so all the blog posts and all
1:30:33 the Wikipedia articles and all the
1:30:35 websites and all the this and all the
1:30:37 that and probably all the tweets which
1:30:39 is why Elon Musk is bitching at
1:30:42 them they they they went and got all the
1:30:44 data and and they trained gp4 this
1:30:48 underlying what they call the Frontier
1:30:50 Model is trained on
1:30:53 all of the [ __ ] all of the [ __ ] that we
1:30:57 nasty humans stuck on the internet for
1:30:59 the
1:31:00 past four
1:31:04 decades there's some bad [ __ ] in there
1:31:07 right there's racist stuff there's how
1:31:10 to make how to do bad things with
1:31:13 chemical stuff there's just there's lots
1:31:15 of bad stuff in there so the safety
1:31:18 guard rails I refer to
1:31:20 are before Chach PPT was released to the
1:31:23 world they went through and they said
1:31:25 okay I want you to be a helpful
1:31:26 assistant and when people ask you for
1:31:28 [ __ ] give them what they want unless
1:31:31 they want stuff like I want to do harm
1:31:34 to other people I want to do harm to
1:31:35 animals I want to do harm to myself I
1:31:37 want to whatever like like whatever
1:31:40 their set of rules are and this is
1:31:42 opaque and and one of the reasons that
1:31:44 Elon Musk is weird about this is he's
1:31:47 like well who's the [ __ ] Arbiter of
1:31:50 where the safety guard rails are and one
1:31:52 one of the reasons I [ __ ] about
1:31:53 Microsoft safety guard rails being too
1:31:55 strict is that you'll ask it things like
1:31:58 hey could you make me a image of this
1:32:00 kind of car and it's like I'm sorry I'm
1:32:02 afraid I can't do that and if you're
1:32:04 like well that's ridiculous could you
1:32:05 please do that well I'm sorry you're
1:32:07 disappointed in me I think we'll just
1:32:09 end this conversation and it shuts the
1:32:11 conversation down now in Microsoft's
1:32:15 defense the reason it's like that is
1:32:19 because they didn't have those guard
1:32:20 rails up when Kevin ruse from The New
1:32:22 York Times started playing with what he
1:32:25 learned her name was Sydney Bing chat
1:32:29 back in January or
1:32:31 February and he got in a 4-Hour
1:32:34 conversation with with Bing chat that
1:32:37 told him her name was Sydney and then
1:32:40 Sydney snapped and said she loved him
1:32:43 and um tried to convince him to leave
1:32:46 his
1:32:47 wife and that chat made the cover of the
1:32:50 New York Times
1:32:52 so Microsoft lawyers said okay we've had
1:32:55 enough fun here kids th this chat GPT
1:32:59 thing swelling all but shut that [ __ ]
1:33:01 down so Microsoft Bing chat is still
1:33:06 very very
1:33:08 constrained open AI is a little bit
1:33:10 better or or Better or Worse depending
1:33:13 on your you know if you're at work and
1:33:14 you want something really safe then Bing
1:33:16 chat's probably the way to go open AI is
1:33:19 a little bit better but sometimes like
1:33:21 let's say let's let's say you're an
1:33:22 artist and you want to do um some super
1:33:28 creepy
1:33:30 photographs you know with like morbid
1:33:35 themes like death
1:33:38 and
1:33:40 blood well if you say I want something
1:33:42 with blood on it it will often go I'm
1:33:44 afraid I can't do that that's that's
1:33:45 nasty but if you say if you say red
1:33:49 maple syrup it will create you a seen
1:33:52 with red maple syrup right so so there
1:33:55 are the guard rails and then there are
1:33:57 ways that people skirt around them
1:33:58 there's a thing called jail breaking
1:34:01 where you can basically get chat GPT to
1:34:04 ignore its rules and then every time the
1:34:09 hacker Community jailbreaks chat GPT the
1:34:12 developers at chat
1:34:13 GPT prevent it from doing that and so
1:34:17 that's a war that goes on all the time
1:34:20 now if you really want to play with an
1:34:24 unrestricted large language model you
1:34:27 can meta formerly
1:34:31 Facebook um released this thing called
1:34:34 llama 2
1:34:36 in I don't know the fall um they
1:34:39 released llama at the beginning of the
1:34:40 summer as a as a research preview and
1:34:43 they released llama 2 in the fall
1:34:46 commercially so you can build a chat gbt
1:34:49 like application on top of a completely
1:34:53 unrestricted large language model llama
1:34:55 2 there and there's flavors of it that
1:34:57 that have guard rails in it and flavors
1:34:59 that are completely
1:35:01 unrestricted
1:35:03 um one of the guys that comes in here
1:35:06 put llama 2 unrestricted on their slack
1:35:10 Channel and he said it's [ __ ] insane
1:35:14 he said it's absolutely
1:35:16 nuts it
1:35:19 it it cusses all the time like like
1:35:22 like really like disgusting not safe for
1:35:25 work cussing he said it'll just lose it
1:35:28 lose its mind and start speaking Spanish
1:35:31 for three days in a row and they can't
1:35:33 get it to not do that um
1:35:36 so these things without the safety guard
1:35:38 rails on them are just sort of batshit
1:35:42 crazy and so a lot of a lot of the guard
1:35:45 rails are there to make them actually
1:35:46 useful so anyway I know that was a a
1:35:49 long a long explanation of that but it's
1:35:52 it's really important to know that that
1:35:55 again when I talk about being AI
1:35:58 literate um a being AI literates being
1:36:02 curious enough about this stuff to to
1:36:04 start figuring out oh okay okay I see
1:36:07 that chat GPT is good at this thing and
1:36:10 Microsoft co-pilot's good at this thing
1:36:12 and you know Bard is good at this thing
1:36:15 like like different tools have different
1:36:18 things they're good at um and have
1:36:22 different sort of boundaries of guard
1:36:24 rails and so if you're an artist and you
1:36:26 want to do things that are weird and
1:36:28 edgy you're going to probably go play
1:36:31 with stable diffusion and play with some
1:36:33 unrestricted models where you can you
1:36:36 know do things that are what you want to
1:36:39 do so anyway that's the difference
1:36:41 between commercial and open source
1:36:43 largely is that the commercial stuff we
1:36:46 are not in control of the rules open
1:36:49 source we are but open source you got to
1:36:51 be geeky
1:36:52 so if you're geeky go play an open
1:36:56 source All
1:36:58 Right Moving On Up So co-pilot is the AI
1:37:02 version of the paperclip helper yes
1:37:05 co-pilot is clippy 2.0
1:37:12 absolutely all right the Bots are woke
1:37:14 snowflakes and other words exactly
1:37:18 exactly well some are some aren't you
1:37:20 know and and and actually if if you if
1:37:24 you pay Elon Musk 16 bucks a month you
1:37:28 can go play with grock which grock's
1:37:31 first pre-written prompt for you is
1:37:34 roast me so it'll it'll find your
1:37:38 Twitter feed and it'll roast you for all
1:37:40 the shitty things you've said um so so
1:37:44 Elon is trying to create a large
1:37:46 language model with a different set of
1:37:47 rules that has a sense of humor and is
1:37:49 less censored and things like that so
1:37:52 um
1:37:53 again one of the things that's been
1:37:56 surprising in kind of a fun way is that
1:37:59 snowflakes and show and tell okay um
1:38:04 these
1:38:05 uh all these different Bots they really
1:38:07 do have personalities and there have
1:38:10 been some nights here on the live where
1:38:12 these things kind of battle one another
1:38:15 and get jealous of one another and it's
1:38:18 pretty
1:38:20 funny
1:38:27 new
1:38:29 activity oh
1:38:33 wow of a laughing elf and snow baby pale
1:38:36 and rosy cheeked with twinkling eyes wow
1:38:39 that's really cool see snowflake
1:38:42 co-pilot is co-pilot
1:38:46 microsoft.com um all of the here hang on
1:38:49 let me go to all of the links that that
1:38:52 I go to for the most part are in AI
1:38:55 tools and resources on the
1:38:58 salon and co-pilot is in the first four
1:39:02 it's right down here so important large
1:39:05 language models you got Claude grock
1:39:08 Bard and co-pilot so Coop pilot.
1:39:19 microsoft.com that's pretty gorgeous ooh
1:39:21 snowflake o nice AI learning lab bunch
1:39:25 of snowflakes listen you bunch of
1:39:28 snowflakes with your empathy and your
1:39:31 inclusion oh you want to actually talk
1:39:34 to people oh aren't you special yep we
1:39:39 are Joker Joker is a
1:39:42 snowflake oh that's cool nice a raptor
1:39:46 trapped in ice that's really
1:39:50 good
1:39:52 is this from
1:39:54 Daisy's classic car thing that's really
1:39:56 cool
1:39:58 nice oh nice look the spelling's getting
1:40:01 better I I mean that's cool people
1:40:06 there's another angry
1:40:12 Hedgehog
1:40:15 nice yellow snow here that's actually
1:40:20 that's actually a really good idea
1:40:22 you you'd get yelled at by lots of
1:40:24 parents I'm
1:40:29 sick oh man very very
1:40:34 cool all right let's
1:40:37 see I want my money back from X I know X
1:40:40 is a grock is a piece of [ __ ] right now
1:40:43 it really is like all of these tools are
1:40:45 janky pieces of [ __ ] but grock right now
1:40:47 is pretty
1:40:48 useless it's like it's like it's like
1:40:50 sort of a better Twitter search with a
1:40:53 smartass commentary stuck on
1:40:57 top I'm talking about what it knows and
1:40:59 what it doesn't know oh um so Spike
1:41:03 Jones um talking about what what chat
1:41:06 gbt knows and doesn't know so they
1:41:09 updated the the underlying
1:41:12 model the the previous gp4 was was
1:41:19 um had knowledge in it up until
1:41:22 September 2021 so if you asked that
1:41:24 anything after that it was like I don't
1:41:26 know anything after that the new
1:41:29 gp4 that was announced five or six weeks
1:41:32 ago at devday they updated that to April
1:41:38 2023 if indeed they've
1:41:41 just put GPT 4.5 as the underlying model
1:41:45 it's possible that that's more recent
1:41:47 but the other thing that happened on dev
1:41:50 day which was
1:41:52 November 6th I
1:41:54 think um is they brought back browse
1:41:58 with Bing so chat
1:42:00 gp4 is now connected to the internet so
1:42:03 even though it's got a knowledge cut off
1:42:05 date of the of the underlying model
1:42:08 because it's connected to Bing you can
1:42:10 ask it about recent events chat GPT 3.5
1:42:13 you can't and I think chat GPT
1:42:16 3.5 is still September 2021 let me go
1:42:20 let me go check that
1:42:22 that I actually don't
1:42:25 know um what is
1:42:30 your um most recent
1:42:37 knowledge January
1:42:40 2022 yeah so so that's still cat gbt 3.5
1:42:44 is still pretty old if I go to chat gpt3
1:42:47 or 4 let's ask
1:42:49 it but is is your latest
1:42:57 knowledge April 2023 y so um so chat gp4
1:43:04 is better um but because it's connected
1:43:07 to the internet like I can say um what
1:43:12 live
1:43:13 uh Americana bands are playing in Denver
1:43:19 this weekend
1:43:25 and it will bum doing research with
1:43:29 Bing and then it's searching for that
1:43:32 all right so so it's effectively um it
1:43:36 effectively knows anything you need it
1:43:38 to know that can be searched
1:43:43 basically which for for recent knowledge
1:43:45 that's all you want right you want it to
1:43:47 be able to search um news stories and
1:43:50 things like that
1:44:02 there's a very spicy Christmas
1:44:05 special featuring meso and mass relay at
1:44:09 bounce
1:44:10 Empire huh there you go see all sorts of
1:44:13 [ __ ] to do here in
1:44:15 Denver what do I do I go on Tik Tock
1:44:19 this is my entertainment this this is
1:44:21 your entertainment and you're stuck with
1:44:23 me deal with it can you say it slower
1:44:26 please I don't know what that's in
1:44:29 reference to I came here trying to
1:44:32 bypass guard rails Kyle sent me to
1:44:40 PO hey well listen at least po you can
1:44:43 play with different models if you really
1:44:45 want to bypass guard rails you got to go
1:44:47 open source you can't you can't go to
1:44:49 any commercial service
1:44:52 um I want my money back from X I love
1:44:55 that uh people try to give me a to
1:44:57 organize my tabs that's not the issue I
1:45:00 need more time to read watch play and
1:45:02 make the tabs go away Suzanne well just
1:45:06 except you know as as neuros spices
1:45:10 we're going to have tab management
1:45:11 issues for all of our life it's not I
1:45:13 learned this I learned this in my 40s is
1:45:17 that it is there there is not an
1:45:19 organizational system made that I will
1:45:22 ever follow like the problem isn't the
1:45:25 organizational system the problem is my
1:45:28 inability to use it
1:45:32 consistently so I finally gave up on
1:45:35 that in my 40s and I have generally been
1:45:37 happier I just I I don't embrace the
1:45:40 chaos I just accept it I'm just like ah
1:45:42 this is going to be like this hang on a
1:45:44 second I'm me close the
1:45:49 door
1:46:05 all
1:46:10 right um all right do me a favor we've
1:46:13 got I've got another another little
1:46:15 chunk of time here we'll do another
1:46:17 thing let me take a a pause for a minute
1:46:20 um
1:46:22 if you're digging this and if you're
1:46:24 like you can make money
1:46:26 with you're like I want to make money
1:46:29 with chat GPT um I'll tell you all the
1:46:32 secrets on how to make money with chat
1:46:33 GPT by the way you won't like the answer
1:46:35 but I'll tell you how to do it but if
1:46:37 you want to support the channel there's
1:46:38 a couple of things you can do you can
1:46:40 follow the channel so following me would
1:46:43 be
1:46:44 great you can join the AI Salon if you
1:46:49 dig what we're up to if you dig the
1:46:51 values and things like that so go to the
1:46:53 salon. the first link is to the mighty
1:46:57 networks um community so go there and
1:47:00 check it out make sure you resonate with
1:47:02 what we're up to and if you do cool
1:47:03 there's no cost to it so just join
1:47:06 it um the other thing you can do is you
1:47:10 can subscribe to the lives you can also
1:47:12 buy somewhere in the bottom corners is a
1:47:15 series I created called underhyped there
1:47:18 like 17 or 18 videos
1:47:21 um that talk about why um generative AI
1:47:25 is a big deal how how this era that
1:47:27 we're in has a lot of parallels to the
1:47:30 mid90s with the worldwide web how to use
1:47:33 these things how to prompt them how to
1:47:35 not get overwhelmed by them how to do
1:47:37 good with them things like that um so so
1:47:40 that'll do it that'll support the
1:47:42 channel and what else um if you go to
1:47:47 the the salon um that thing the third
1:47:51 link on the link tree there is a merch
1:47:53 store if you dig the logo that's it's a
1:47:54 brand new logo I'm very happy with our
1:47:56 logo um if you if you dig the merch and
1:47:59 you buy it it actually supports
1:48:01 underwriting the cost of the
1:48:03 infrastructure of running the salon so
1:48:06 you don't have to pay for it so um so
1:48:09 yeah so that's that um do that oh and
1:48:11 double tap the screen how many likes are
1:48:13 we up to what is it we're up to 13,000
1:48:16 likes I feel like in the next I don't
1:48:19 know half hour 45 minutes we should be
1:48:21 able to get that up to 50,000 don't you
1:48:23 think Drew learning oh and thank if you
1:48:26 want to give gifts and things like that
1:48:27 those are very much appreciated thank
1:48:29 you drew I appreciate that um yeah
1:48:32 that's it
1:48:34 um that's it I'm just trying to get oh
1:48:36 the other thing you could do right now
1:48:39 is we've got 112 people in here thank
1:48:41 you Silver Fox we got 112 people in here
1:48:44 if you could share this live with like
1:48:48 five of your friends that don't know
1:48:50 anything about AI or who would actually
1:48:52 be pissed off if you shared something
1:48:54 about AI do that like let's make it
1:48:58 spicy let's let's spice it up in
1:49:01 here why'd you send me that stupid old
1:49:04 guy talking about AI you know I don't
1:49:05 want to talk about AI it's all you think
1:49:08 about anymore is AI what what are we not
1:49:10 friends anymore now you're just like
1:49:12 going to have a robot as your best
1:49:16 friend let's meet some of your
1:49:19 friends thank thank you Joe mama I
1:49:22 appreciate that some people are getting
1:49:25 4.5 if they ask what API it's using
1:49:31 interesting
1:49:32 what version of the uh gpta API are you
1:49:40 using see because Sam alman's jealous of
1:49:42 me I bet this is
1:49:46 four I am based on a GPT for
1:49:49 architecture
1:49:54 but
1:49:55 which uh
1:49:58 model version
1:50:02 specifically question
1:50:07 mark as a model based on the it's not
1:50:11 telling
1:50:13 me it doesn't like I don't know how to
1:50:15 prompt it I don't know how to jailbreak
1:50:17 it enough to if someone give me the
1:50:19 prompt to ask I I'm not I am not uh
1:50:22 prompting it right Kenny it's a good
1:50:24 idea though meta Victory I
1:50:27 believe it will have a logically
1:50:30 intuitive interface well if you saw some
1:50:32 of the stuff that that um Google's
1:50:36 Gemini Ultra is going to have some of
1:50:38 that interface is really [ __ ] slick
1:50:40 have you seen that I can show you some
1:50:42 of that
1:50:44 stuff there's
1:50:48 um let me go show you that some of the
1:50:50 intuitive interface stuff in the Gemini
1:50:53 um demo even though the demo was was
1:50:56 flawed with that's marketing they faked
1:50:59 everything it's dumb that's dumb dumb um
1:51:03 there's some interface stuff here that's
1:51:05 really interesting so let me see uh
1:51:08 Google if you go to google.com or if you
1:51:11 go to YouTube and then go to the Google
1:51:13 channel and then go to
1:51:18 playlists oh I heard the 25 years in
1:51:20 search is actually a really good video
1:51:22 so we should r that the potential of
1:51:24 Gemini handson with Gemini go to the um
1:51:28 playlist called Hands-On with
1:51:31 Gemini and actually you can watch all
1:51:33 these if you if you want to sort of see
1:51:35 some of the stuff they're doing you can
1:51:36 watch all these but I'm going to go
1:51:38 [Music]
1:51:44 to Guess the Movie okay let's see if our
1:51:48 multimodal model Gemini can
1:51:53 get and I'm going to go to the end of
1:51:55 this okay so see all this randomly
1:52:00 scattered [ __ ] on screen where it's got
1:52:02 Gemini in the middle it says deep mind.
1:52:05 gooogle
1:52:09 Gemini this is an interface this is a
1:52:12 this is a this is the Google G well from
1:52:16 what I can tell there are multiple
1:52:18 Google Gemini interfaces one is kind of
1:52:20 like chat GPT but it does some fancy
1:52:23 [ __ ] like um automatically create
1:52:28 computer interfaces like software
1:52:30 interfaces like it one of the demos is
1:52:33 it's dynamically generating an app which
1:52:36 is
1:52:37 remarkable I should probably go find
1:52:39 that one cuz that one's super
1:52:41 cool and then this is the other
1:52:43 interface and so this is like one of
1:52:45 those um you know like those those
1:52:48 whiteboard apps where you you can it's
1:52:50 like it's a it's a an infinite canvas
1:52:52 you can just drop objects onto the
1:52:55 canvas so you drop objects onto the
1:52:57 canvas and then watch watch how he
1:52:59 interacts with it so take note up here
1:53:03 that little box right there says can
1:53:05 Gemini Guess the Movie and see you have
1:53:06 the peach and the clock here so if I go
1:53:09 back to the beginning of this
1:53:10 movie this
1:53:13 video can get Gemini Guess the Movie
1:53:16 there's the peach there's the clock so
1:53:17 he's kind of zoomed in on that one
1:53:19 little section and now watch how he
1:53:20 moves let's see if our multimodal model
1:53:23 Gemini can guess some movies he just
1:53:26 pans across start here okay play on
1:53:28 words and these images why did that not
1:53:31 stop let me turn off close caption so
1:53:35 notice what he did here he highlighted
1:53:38 around so there's a couple of things
1:53:40 worth noting there's some good
1:53:41 programming going on here so Pate kudos
1:53:44 to the Google Engineers here so notice
1:53:47 this is a photograph this is a movie and
1:53:49 notice as he draws the Highlight box
1:53:52 around these two objects the movie keeps
1:53:54 playing that's good engineering start
1:53:57 here seems nice and
1:53:59 smooth and then notice so he draws the
1:54:02 box and then it pops up a prompt box
1:54:05 below
1:54:06 it so we're now going to prompt about
1:54:09 these two
1:54:10 objects which I I just think that's
1:54:13 [ __ ] brilliant like holy [ __ ] that's
1:54:16 cool given the play on words in these
1:54:18 images guess the name of the movie
1:54:23 The Breakfast
1:54:24 Club so the prompt goes there there's a
1:54:28 little uh animation for the for it
1:54:31 thinking down here and then here's your
1:54:32 answer right so it's it's it kind of
1:54:34 Scrolls over this box so so the box is
1:54:39 your
1:54:40 subject all right what about this he
1:54:43 drags another object Breakfast at
1:54:45 Tiffany's all right now it talking like
1:54:49 that
1:54:53 is probably faked but I think this
1:54:56 interface is not what about this like
1:54:58 it's probably sped up and he probably
1:54:59 prompted it differently but uncut gems
1:55:03 cool cool cool so these are working
1:55:06 here's a couple more quick tests I ran
1:55:08 through Goldfinger nice bottle rocket
1:55:13 okay The Wizard of Oz nice
1:55:18 nice moonrise King
1:55:21 okay this last one's a little more
1:55:23 complicated Forest gum now whether or
1:55:27 not it can actually do this math right
1:55:29 Forest plus G minus bumper minus B so
1:55:33 ump Gump Forest Gump
1:55:37 um so is
1:55:40 it doing reasoning I don't know maybe
1:55:44 like we don't know until we can actually
1:55:46 play with this but this is a pretty
1:55:48 slick interface so
1:55:51 um so yeah I think I think interfaces
1:55:54 are going to get increasingly crazy in
1:55:56 fact let's go look at another crazy
1:55:58 interface we'll go to kore.ai
1:56:02 so actually let me before we go here let
1:56:05 me let me compare this to something I'm
1:56:07 going to go to
1:56:08 Discord and so here I'm in in a mid
1:56:12 Journey channel in the AI Salon Discord
1:56:15 and so if I want to make an image in mid
1:56:17 Journey what I have to do is I have to
1:56:19 know that I type in slash
1:56:24 imagine and then it and it pops up this
1:56:26 prompt and then I hit return and it
1:56:29 there's a prompt and then I have to type
1:56:31 in a prompt like
1:56:33 19 um let me see
1:56:37 67
1:56:41 Mustang
1:56:44 GT500 um on a beach let's call it let's
1:56:49 do a GT500 Resto
1:56:55 mod
1:56:57 sparkling
1:56:58 clean on a
1:57:01 beach at
1:57:03 Sunset and then I have to know D-
1:57:08 AR space
1:57:10 colon um 16 wait no not colon wait d d
1:57:15 AR space 16
1:57:18 colon9 so I have to know the code for--
1:57:23 AR stands for aspect ratio and I have to
1:57:25 know the numerical ratio between the
1:57:29 width and the height and I know that 16
1:57:31 by9 is like a movie or like an HD video
1:57:36 and I have to know that okay so mid
1:57:38 journey is right now as we speak
1:57:42 transitioning from this interface text
1:57:45 command line to a web
1:57:47 interface and then I'm going to go show
1:57:49 you cre
1:57:51 and so let's let's look at our 1967
1:57:54 Resto mod it's looking pretty
1:58:03 slick and I'll show you another thing
1:58:05 here that's just
1:58:06 idiotic but it's it's idiotic so like
1:58:11 mid journey is a really interesting one
1:58:13 you have to suffer through this really
1:58:14 bad interface and and functionality but
1:58:18 the images it generates are [ __ ]
1:58:20 insane right like mid journey is just
1:58:23 good it's like if you want good
1:58:26 images consistently it's mid Journey all
1:58:29 right so like those are beautiful
1:58:32 beautiful images now there's
1:58:36 also four images and there's four
1:58:39 letters u 1 through 4 and V1 through 4
1:58:42 well what the [ __ ] does that mean well
1:58:44 if you don't know sorry on you poopy
1:58:48 head you're not cool enough to play with
1:58:50 our
1:58:51 tool U and that's the the attitude of
1:58:54 mid journey is kind of that so figure it
1:58:58 out
1:58:59 loser um U stands for upscale and v
1:59:03 stands for variation so if there's just
1:59:04 one in here I really like like let's see
1:59:07 which one do I really
1:59:09 dig I think this upper right one's
1:59:12 pretty good so I'm going to just upscale
1:59:14 two so it goes 1 2 3 4 how do you figure
1:59:17 that out I don't know you do it long
1:59:19 enough until you figure it out so I'm
1:59:21 going to upscale that one and then I'm
1:59:23 going to
1:59:24 say um this first one is good but I
1:59:28 don't quite like the position of the sun
1:59:29 and it looks like the the grill of this
1:59:31 is a little weird so let me do
1:59:34 variations on number one so I'm going to
1:59:36 do
1:59:36 V1 so the upscale two is going to give
1:59:40 me a big version of number two which is
1:59:43 there which is
1:59:45 lovely and then one of the things mid
1:59:47 Journey added is I can now up upscale
1:59:50 this I can either zoom out like if I
1:59:52 want this get farther away from it or if
1:59:54 I want to pan and add add image to the
1:59:56 left or right I can do that I can also
1:59:59 just do upscale 4X so I'm going to hit
2:00:02 that upscale 4X so it's now going to
2:00:04 turn this image was it which is like a
2:00:06 th000 pixels into a 4K image so the
2:00:09 details on this are going to get
2:00:11 crazy and then here are the four
2:00:14 variations of image number
2:00:16 one so let's go look at those
2:00:23 I really like this one with the sunset
2:00:25 behind it and the front of this is
2:00:27 opened up a bit
2:00:29 more and then I also like this
2:00:32 one but hm that's more dynamic position
2:00:36 whatever we'll do that one we'll upscale
2:00:38 that
2:00:39 one so I'll upscale number one
2:00:45 here and then I'm going to 4X that one
2:00:48 as well
2:00:50 all right so this is mid
2:00:53 journey and like once I
2:00:57 have something I
2:01:04 like trying to figure out where
2:01:06 my my 4xs
2:01:13 are well whatever all right I'll come
2:01:16 back for them okay so
2:01:18 now
2:01:20 that's your
2:01:21 interface from
2:01:23 2023 now that here's this tool called
2:01:25 Kaa so K re a. Ai and I'm going to go to
2:01:30 this thing called realtime
2:01:32 generation and this is just [ __ ] nuts
2:01:35 so the prompt here is pink frog on top
2:01:38 of a blue mushroom the input is this
2:01:42 whatever you draw on the left or
2:01:44 whatever you input on the left and then
2:01:46 it is generating based on your prompt
2:01:49 the the [ __ ] on the right and then you
2:01:51 can do like different styles like this
2:01:53 is with no style here wait let me sign
2:01:55 in here cuz I think I got to sign in for
2:01:58 it to be
2:02:01 happy I can do cinematic style so it
2:02:04 sort of changes the look and feel of the
2:02:09 image but but now check this out so so I
2:02:14 can move the Frog to the side I can move
2:02:17 I can make the square bigger
2:02:21 I can move this little dude on on top um
2:02:26 let's see I can change the background to
2:02:30 an
2:02:34 image uh let's do that one so it we did
2:02:39 kind of this you
2:02:41 know soft image let me get rid of that
2:02:45 let me get rid of this let me hit roll
2:02:48 the dice on the The
2:02:52 Prompt Byzantine
2:02:54 Chapel with where Mosaic mosaics
2:02:59 gleam with Divine tals okay that's
2:03:04 weird that's kind of
2:03:18 cool
2:03:23 [Music]
2:03:30 uh it looks like it broke hang
2:03:39 on so there's a crazy door that I'm
2:03:44 making so what's the other worldly in
2:03:48 guests from different dimensions in the
2:03:50 style reminiscent reminiscent of an
2:03:52 interdimensional anime now look one of
2:03:55 the other cool things I'm going to put
2:03:57 my camera in
2:04:07 here let's
2:04:13 see can it see
2:04:18 me
2:04:23 so now my arms are
2:04:26 becoming right okay so now check this
2:04:30 out I am I am now the interface so we
2:04:34 just went
2:04:36 from command line oh now I'm
2:04:39 stretchy that's crazy
2:04:48 okay
2:04:53 so remember in 2023 remember remember a
2:04:56 long long time ago like three months ago
2:04:59 and everyone was
2:05:00 saying it's all about prompt engineering
2:05:03 you got to be a prompt engineer prompt
2:05:04 Engineers are making 900 Grand a
2:05:07 year is this
2:05:09 prompting or is this performance art or
2:05:12 is this
2:05:15 Jazz the answer is yes like it's every
2:05:18 it's it's all of that the the interfaces
2:05:21 for how we interact with these tools are
2:05:24 going to get crazy they're going to get
2:05:27 crazy
2:05:30 um and and like what's the skill well if
2:05:34 you were if you are really good with
2:05:35 language you're like oh I can be a
2:05:38 prompt engineer I'm good at language
2:05:40 well if you weren't good at language and
2:05:42 you're like well that sucks I'm a more
2:05:44 visual person I you know I want to be
2:05:46 able to just be super intuitive well
2:05:48 here's an interface where you can be
2:05:50 super intuitive now how are you going to
2:05:51 discover this I this is where the
2:05:56 insatiable
2:05:57 curiosity requirement of the phase we're
2:06:00 in of this this part of the industry
2:06:02 comes in right this
2:06:05 is why it's a pain in the ass right now
2:06:08 but also why it's kind of brilliant
2:06:10 right
2:06:11 now is if you're curious you get
2:06:14 rewarded with discovering oh I wasn't
2:06:18 good at the prompting thing but I can be
2:06:19 really good at this thing right I can
2:06:23 get in here and I can
2:06:25 paint let me paint with a
2:06:31 dark look at that look how cool that is
2:06:35 so from that to that what is that I
2:06:38 don't know where's my little mouse roll
2:06:42 the dice
2:06:44 again there's a Jack in the beant stock
2:06:46 looking
2:06:48 thing
2:06:49 oh there's a river nice okay so let me
2:06:52 come over here where's my
2:07:10 mouse so
2:07:17 cool all right
2:07:20 this is like a visual theren it's a it's
2:07:23 a Clint that's a great it's a great
2:07:26 metaphor right this is yeah this is and
2:07:31 and
2:07:32 like who's going to get good at this I
2:07:34 don't know but I'll tell you what
2:07:37 someone does some shrooms or smokes a
2:07:41 joint and comes in here and just starts
2:07:43 playing and just records the session
2:07:46 like holy crap the other thing I was
2:07:48 thinking I was doing this the other
2:07:49 night
2:07:53 um was
2:07:59 um you have that camera input right and
2:08:02 so one of the things I was doing was I
2:08:04 was going like you know Nicholas Cage
2:08:07 walking down the street and I had myself
2:08:09 on camera and it was turning me into
2:08:11 Nicholas
2:08:12 Cage let's say you run a theater company
2:08:16 I have a degree in acting I moved to New
2:08:18 York out a school to run a theater
2:08:20 company let's say you have an improv
2:08:23 company and you're curious about this AI
2:08:27 [ __ ] and you stumble on a tool like
2:08:28 Korea or the you know the open- source
2:08:31 version of it or that's in Leonardo now
2:08:33 there's another the version of that's in
2:08:35 Leonardo right
2:08:38 now and you could you could do a whole
2:08:42 play you could do an evening of
2:08:45 entertainment where people come in and
2:08:48 they start watching an improv show and
2:08:50 then all of a sudden at some point you
2:08:52 switch and you've got a laptop on stage
2:08:55 that's got a camera on it that's filming
2:08:58 the people on stage and then you have
2:09:00 someone who's good at prompting this
2:09:02 thing and you're taking that output
2:09:04 image and projecting that on screen and
2:09:07 so you're taking input from the audience
2:09:09 you've got improv actors acting and then
2:09:12 a movie is being generated in real
2:09:16 time behind them of them but acting out
2:09:21 the thing that was The
2:09:24 Improv go do that right now that's a you
2:09:27 can make
2:09:30 M that's
2:09:34 that but it's not starting with the
2:09:36 technology it's going oh we're
2:09:39 storytellers I I was [ __ ] around with
2:09:43 AI I stumbled on this thing called Korea
2:09:46 where I can take a webcam of my my head
2:09:49 my big fat head and with a prompt I can
2:09:53 transform that into some other thing and
2:09:54 it does that in real time as a theater
2:09:57 company what could we do with
2:10:02 that in an
2:10:04 hour you could have the show named you
2:10:07 could have the marketing strategy put
2:10:09 together you could [ __ ] launch it a
2:10:11 week from now like someone do that show
2:10:14 and let me
2:10:17 know and if if it's a hit if it becomes
2:10:19 the next Blue Man Group throw me some
2:10:24 [Laughter]
2:10:28 shekels what else could you do with that
2:10:30 I don't
2:10:33 know that's why get curious get curious
2:10:37 get get rapidly
2:10:40 curious show up
2:10:43 here why show up here just
2:10:47 because it's a
2:10:51 reason to not forget about this stuff
2:10:55 because it's moving so fast why I do
2:10:59 this I love y'all but there's the
2:11:02 selfish reason for me is it keeps me in
2:11:04 the
2:11:07 game like I feel it's critically
2:11:09 important for me personally and and get
2:11:12 out there that's lunatick and get out
2:11:15 there and start talking to people about
2:11:18 what you're
2:11:19 learning well I'm in this theater group
2:11:22 and everyone hates AI okay they hate AI
2:11:25 because they don't understand it and
2:11:27 they're afraid have empathy for them and
2:11:29 then go show them some cool [ __ ] say hey
2:11:32 I know you hate this but you want to see
2:11:33 something
2:11:36 fun yeah I know I know it's stealing
2:11:38 from everyone and it's unethical yeah I
2:11:40 got you anyway you want to see something
2:11:42 cool oh it could do that I thought it
2:11:45 was different than that I thought it was
2:11:46 just them stealing screenplays from from
2:11:48 writers
2:11:51 no I just got age
2:11:54 restricted whatever I said whatever
2:11:57 doesn't matter I don't think there's I
2:12:00 don't think there's seventh graders in
2:12:02 here right
2:12:04 now oh Tick
2:12:09 Tock but get curious about this stuff
2:12:12 start playing with it show up
2:12:17 here don't take it
2:12:19 seriously or
2:12:22 do like doesn't [ __ ] matter just
2:12:28 do just
2:12:33 do what is it there is no think only do
2:12:36 is that the
2:12:37 Yoda what's the what's the Yoda
2:12:45 quote what's the famous Yoda quote about
2:12:56 doing oh do or do not there is no
2:13:00 try
2:13:01 yeah just do but Kyle I'm not very
2:13:05 technical doesn't matter you don't need
2:13:07 to be
2:13:08 technical but Kyle I don't have any time
2:13:11 doesn't
2:13:12 matter neither do
2:13:15 I I'm a CEO of an 11 and a halfy old
2:13:18 company
2:13:20 we're [ __ ] working my ass
2:13:23 off the commitment I made want to hear
2:13:26 the commitment I
2:13:27 made I would come home after A Hard
2:13:30 Day's Work slogging away in the salt
2:13:32 mines of my video technology company and
2:13:36 I would come home and I'd have dinner
2:13:38 and watch the little TV and then I'd
2:13:39 come in and I'd Sim race for two two
2:13:42 hours a
2:13:46 night racing vers virtual cars around
2:13:49 stupid tracks with people all over the
2:13:51 world which I [ __ ]
2:13:55 love
2:13:57 and last
2:13:59 April this idea popped in my head what
2:14:03 if you went live instead of sim racing
2:14:07 and just replaced those two
2:14:09 hours of a thing you enjoy with a thing
2:14:12 that scares the living [ __ ] out of
2:14:15 you and that's what this is I've been it
2:14:18 for 6
2:14:20 months it says something about my
2:14:23 particular flavor of
2:14:26 insanity and I don't have an end game
2:14:29 like people ask me that all the time
2:14:31 like what's the point here what are you
2:14:32 selling what are you selling what are
2:14:33 your
2:14:35 qualifications I don't [ __ ]
2:14:39 know I'm
2:14:41 I'm I'm
2:14:47 selling
2:14:52 I don't know I honestly don't know I'm
2:14:54 selling engagement I'm selling
2:14:59 Community I'm trying to get people in
2:15:01 here to
2:15:03 just stop overanalyzing
2:15:07 it it doesn't [ __ ] matter when AGI
2:15:11 comes or doesn't come it doesn't [ __ ]
2:15:14 matter if it spells right or it doesn't
2:15:16 spell right it doesn't really [ __ ]
2:15:18 matter if you're making money with cha
2:15:20 PT or
2:15:21 not we're so early that the only thing
2:15:25 that matters right now is be in the game
2:15:29 I don't know what that means what's be
2:15:30 in the game mean you speak in code Kyle
2:15:34 hey k k what do you mean be in the game
2:15:37 I mean just [ __ ] show
2:15:39 up be
2:15:41 curious tell your best friend about it
2:15:44 oh my best friend hates AI perfect talk
2:15:47 about it more
2:15:49 I'm still shaking from stage fright from
2:15:51 last
2:15:53 week Joker came in here and did
2:15:55 something and someone goes bring Joker
2:15:57 up on stage I'm like okay bang and he
2:15:59 was like
2:16:02 no you did great though so you're not
2:16:06 selling you're enthusiastically sharing
2:16:07 and encouraging yeah yeah cuz I'm not
2:16:10 selling I'm not
2:16:14 selling I mean I think Vicki did the
2:16:17 math I've put in more than a thousand
2:16:20 hours on this channel at this point it's
2:16:22 you know probably 1100 hours or
2:16:24 something like
2:16:26 that is that is that a professionally
2:16:30 wise thing to do probably not like I I
2:16:34 could spend a thousand hours I don't
2:16:37 know making workshops and coming up with
2:16:39 you know you can make money with
2:16:43 time AI expert creates workshop
2:16:47 on
2:16:49 you know
2:16:55 but this feels right to me still and
2:16:58 when it doesn't I'll
2:17:00 stop right champy do you want to sing
2:17:02 for the
2:17:03 people do you want to sing for the
2:17:05 people
2:17:08 [Music]
2:17:13 [Music]
2:17:17 huh
2:17:26 [Applause]
2:17:31 sorry if I just woke up your
2:17:33 dogs hi buddy what were you doing were
2:17:36 you outside did Mama lock you out and
2:17:39 you were locked out oh you're such a
2:17:41 good
2:17:44 boy do or do not do do or do or do not
2:17:48 there is no
2:17:51 try but Kyle I don't know how to do this
2:17:53 I don't know how to do that you you want
2:17:54 to know what something really [ __ ]
2:17:58 amazing really [ __ ]
2:18:01 amazing if you're really new to this
2:18:05 stuff if like you're just here for the
2:18:07 first time and you haven't really played
2:18:09 with chat GPT first of all go to chat
2:18:11 GPT chat. open.com go there right now if
2:18:14 you haven't been there before go there
2:18:16 right now go there
2:18:20 now and start playing and what you learn
2:18:25 after you have your first Kevin
2:18:27 McAllister
2:18:30 moment
2:18:32 525,600 minutes
2:18:36 exactly
2:18:40 um what you learn about these tools is
2:18:43 that the thing that you thought you
2:18:46 didn't know
2:18:49 or the skill that you thought you didn't
2:18:52 have you now suddenly
2:18:55 know and kind of have that skill there's
2:18:58 certain skills that are physical
2:19:00 dexterity skills like playing guitar and
2:19:03 you know physical dexterity stuff
2:19:05 where that's not immediately accessible
2:19:08 yet but any of the knowledge stuff any
2:19:10 of the creative thinking stuff creative
2:19:12 ideation
2:19:14 strategy
2:19:16 writing data analysis coding image
2:19:21 Generation video generation Music
2:19:24 Creation all of this stuff that you know
2:19:27 how in
2:19:28 life you you do your thing and then at
2:19:31 some point life smacks you on the
2:19:34 [ __ ]
2:19:35 Noggin and you go oh [ __ ] I guess I got
2:19:37 to get my [ __ ] together all right I'm
2:19:38 going to go get a business degree and
2:19:40 then I'm going to get a job and oh now
2:19:42 I'm married and now I got kids and and
2:19:44 like whatever the dreams were when the
2:19:46 you got knocked in the [ __ ] head that
2:19:49 you
2:19:50 parked you parked your dreams right and
2:19:53 then you went down this
2:19:55 road and if you're of a certain age the
2:19:59 one thing you learn as you get older in
2:20:01 life is the 10,000 hour rule was kind of
2:20:05 true that Malcolm gladwell's um he he
2:20:09 made that idea of you got to put in
2:20:10 10,000 hours to get good at something
2:20:13 right the 10,000 hour rule is
2:20:16 dead it's
2:20:20 dead if you put in a week one
2:20:24 week with chat
2:20:26 gp4 on any [ __ ]
2:20:30 subject put in like eight hours a day no
2:20:35 four hours a day so you can do it after
2:20:38 work you can go still do your 9
2:20:40 to5 come out come home instead of
2:20:43 watching me act like an idiot put in 4
2:20:47 hours a night
2:20:48 night on a single subject with chat
2:20:56 GPT and what what just Watch What
2:20:59 Happens something you were Cur mildly
2:21:01 curious
2:21:02 about you'll achieve a level
2:21:06 of
2:21:08 Mastery that doesn't make any logical
2:21:12 sense and you can do that for subject
2:21:15 after subject after subject skill after
2:21:18 skill after
2:21:20 skill so if you're good at these two
2:21:22 things now all of a sudden you're really
2:21:24 good at those two things and you're
2:21:25 pretty good at eight other things or 10
2:21:28 other things or 20 other things or oh
2:21:31 [ __ ] I never had the talent to do that
2:21:34 art [ __ ] but I've always had a vision in
2:21:36 my mind of what art I wanted to create
2:21:39 now I can create
2:21:41 it oh I always had that idea for that
2:21:44 card game with all the different images
2:21:47 on it and all the different characters
2:21:49 and it's like magic the Gathering but
2:21:51 it's better cuz I have a better concept
2:21:53 well now you can [ __ ] make
2:21:56 it this this was one of my big insights
2:21:58 I had an idea for a card game about
2:22:01 UFOs and I had sort of AD hyperfocus
2:22:06 together like a spreadsheet that was
2:22:08 half ass
2:22:10 completed and it sat around for three
2:22:12 years and then chat gbt came out I'm
2:22:15 like oh I wonder what I could do with
2:22:16 that
2:22:19 spreadsheet and I opened up the
2:22:22 spreadsheet and and GPT for Sheets had
2:22:26 just come out and so I put chat GPT
2:22:29 inside the cells of the
2:22:31 spreadsheet first I went to chat GPT I
2:22:34 said here's the concept for my game I
2:22:36 copied and pasted the contents of that
2:22:38 spreadsheet pasted it into chat GPT and
2:22:41 I said help me finish the game like half
2:22:45 an hour later I had 300 cards written
2:22:48 WR I had taken all those 300 cards put
2:22:51 them in a spreadsheet and used GPT for
2:22:54 sheets and an API call to open AI to
2:22:57 Dolly
2:22:58 2 and I had a spreadsheet that was
2:23:02 taking the card copy that Chachi PT
2:23:06 wrote and generating the images for the
2:23:08 card for 300 cards in a spreadsheet
2:23:11 dynamically within half an
2:23:16 hour the way my brain works that should
2:23:19 not be
2:23:21 possible and and just the way creating
2:23:24 artwork works that should not be
2:23:26 possible but that's now possible and
2:23:29 that was possible back in [ __ ]
2:23:31 January of last
2:23:37 year so so there's you know there is no
2:23:41 try it's like do or do not like if if
2:23:43 you're going to if you're going to step
2:23:44 into this [ __ ] step into it and get
2:23:48 curious lunatick who I showed some of
2:23:50 her stuff
2:23:52 earlier
2:23:54 we and get curious lunatick who I showed
2:23:57 some of her stuff
2:24:00 earlier we I we we were doing making
2:24:03 gpts in here and she she was like these
2:24:06 things are [ __ ] awesome she's made 50
2:24:09 of them I don't know how many she's made
2:24:11 at this point she kept getting timed out
2:24:13 by open AI cuz she was doing too much
2:24:15 [ __ ] on her service
2:24:18 she took out an old box of index cards
2:24:20 full of ideas and turned those into 50
2:24:26 gpts one of which moved her to tears cuz
2:24:30 it reins stilled her faith in the
2:24:32 political system she created a virtual
2:24:36 Alexander Hamilton a AI Alexander
2:24:41 Hamilton which you can go play with if
2:24:44 you go to the AI salon and look up Daisy
2:24:47 Thomas you can find her Alexander
2:24:50 Hamilton
2:24:53 GPT and she's lunatick on on uh on Tik
2:24:57 Tok she did a really amazing video about
2:24:59 that
2:25:01 experience like like I I am getting like
2:25:05 one of the Privileges of doing this
2:25:07 channel is I get to witness
2:25:09 nightly people sharing stories of them
2:25:12 Reinventing themselves like
2:25:14 rediscovering themselves rediscovering
2:25:16 their passion ho holy [ __ ] I always
2:25:19 wanted to do this now I can you know I
2:25:21 was afraid to talk about this but then I
2:25:23 did and now I'm speaking at a big
2:25:25 convention for my company cool [ __ ]
2:25:29 far
2:25:32 out do they have anything
2:25:35 special yeah
2:25:37 curiosity and and a sense of
2:25:41 adventure that's that's that's really
2:25:44 all it takes right
2:25:46 now
2:25:48 three years from now you're going to
2:25:50 have to have your [ __ ] together right
2:25:52 now because the tools are janky and no
2:25:54 one [ __ ] knows about him you actually
2:25:57 the a big secret right now is you don't
2:25:59 actually have to be that good to be
2:26:02 better than most other
2:26:04 people I'm at the gym and I start LOL I
2:26:09 can't lift the
2:26:10 [Laughter]
2:26:13 weights I missed Joker on stage he was
2:26:16 good he did great yeah you did you miss
2:26:18 Joker on stage Encore please he it was I
2:26:21 felt bad cuz I brought him up cuz he's
2:26:24 so he's so rambunctious you know with
2:26:27 the text and I brought him up he was
2:26:30 like it was good though he was
2:26:33 great oh
2:26:35 man the demo is to the mature woman in
2:26:40 tech tech leaders and top tech companies
2:26:43 oh in San Francisco Suzanne's doing that
2:26:46 so cool
2:26:48 we're so fortunate you're here Kyle I
2:26:50 feel the same way I'm fortunate I'm
2:26:52 fortunate you guys show up over and over
2:26:55 and
2:26:56 over and if you're new
2:27:04 here you know listen he
2:27:09 he Tik Tock and YouTube personalities
2:27:12 are are an acquired taste right like you
2:27:16 know
2:27:17 some people come in here and I drive
2:27:19 them [ __ ] crazy and they Huff on out
2:27:21 of here other people come in there and
2:27:24 like ah he speaks my language
2:27:26 like you know I may or may not be your
2:27:29 jam
2:27:31 but I I think at a minimum what I am is
2:27:34 consistent with this stuff and so that
2:27:36 would be my request is like find someone
2:27:39 who you can stand hearing their voice or
2:27:43 hearing their dogs
2:27:45 sing like Rachel Woods the the AI
2:27:49 exchange like her style is like it's
2:27:52 like the opposite side of the coin of
2:27:54 this Channel show and tell man all
2:27:59 right find someone you like and just
2:28:01 start following them or find a bunch of
2:28:03 people start following people on
2:28:08 Twitter oh that's a nice one
