in 1:19 here all right let's 1:22 see going 1:25 live all right hey everybody Welcome to 1:28 the AI learning lab did any anybody see 1:30 my little countdown sticker thingy or 1:32 was it a complete waste of [ __ ] 1:35 time one one person said a timer but I 1:38 know a bunch of you that know this is 1:40 coming know this is 1:43 coming all right cuno saw it 1:47 nice Kyle Irregulars newbies nice Consulting tonight you know 2:11 I got the the gray 2:14 patches oh man um I'm not even set up 2:19 yet um Matias sent 2:22 me basically a Photoshop challenge that 2:25 I don't think I can 2:27 do I don't think I can do it with AI 2:32 um but we'll try we'll do a little we'll 2:33 do a little 2:35 action yeah that's a good one welcome to 2:39 the AI learning lab join now join now 2:43 how is everybody doing so my name is 2:45 Kyle Shannon this is the AI learning lab 2:47 thank you myce shirt I know it's it's 2:49 very uh it's very respectable as we know 2:53 we know I shouldn't be wearing it this 2:55 this is like this is one of those shirts 2:57 you would wear if you actually had 2:58 qualifications you know you know what 3:00 I'm saying almost done with my movie 3:02 short oh nice oh that's cool Sherry do 3:05 you I'm excited to see it finished 3:07 grading the cardiovascular exam early 3:10 it's easy when you just fail all the 3:13 students just kidding that's great um 3:17 okay so here's how this works my name is 3:18 Kyle Shannon uh I am an entrepreneur a 3:21 many time entrepreneur basically that's 3:24 just a fancy way for saying I'm 3:26 unhirable at this point um I'm the 3:28 co-founder and CEO company these days 3:31 called storyvine it's an 11 and a halfy 3:33 old company that does automated video 3:36 storytelling and this channel is 3:40 about the hell is going on with this AI 3:43 stuff what's 3:45 happening what do I do Kyle tell me what 3:47 to do what do I do what do I do what do 3:49 I do Kyle Kyle Kyle 3:51 Kyle so we talk about that so if you 3:53 have questions about AI pop them in the 3:55 comments 3:56 below um it's a little warm in here hang 3:59 on 4:01 um I'll give you some sites to get you 4:04 started and uh and we'll get we'll get 4:07 rolling um mathas uh sent me some some 4:11 photos hosted hosted on a Russian image 4:15 sharing site he promised me there wasn't 4:17 malware in them so so I downloaded them 4:21 cuz I'm an 4:23 idiot but listen mathas is has been in 4:27 here enough that you know if he's going 4:28 to scam me he's at least earned the 4:29 right to do it grayhair gamer I'm back 4:32 been away for a bit need to catch up you 4:33 do need to catch up there is so much 4:35 going on holy crap I submitted my 4:38 manuscript for uh Kindle publishing 4:40 today in order to proof awesome lunar 4:42 stick that's really cool did you do a 4:44 kids book or a book book or a graphic 4:46 novel what did you do that's super 4:48 awesome super awesome um all right so so 4:53 I'm trying to think where I want to 4:55 start I think I'll do a quick 4:58 um did it 5:00 I'll I'll do a quick sort of primer if 5:02 you're brand new to this AI stuff um no 5:06 it's St Vine some Italian speaking guy 5:11 exactly yeah I say Story vine the 5:13 Italian me says a story 5:17 Vine exactly um I can actually show you 5:21 that right now look there's 5:23 me and watch watch me speak 5:28 Italian 5:35 so this is from a company called hey Jen 5:39 I saw another live with their CEO today 5:42 good Lord those people need to get their 5:44 [ __ ] together with with their their 5:46 public presentations they were so 5:48 unprepared so we've heard from a number 5:49 of clients that modular content is 5:51 important to them getting more efficient 5:53 with how we create content and how we 5:55 leverage 5:58 content 6:03 uh behind me you see these little green 6:05 boxes um that's how we think about 6:07 stories at Story vine we break stories 6:09 down into little atoms right little 6:19 modules now watch this one now it's 6:22 [Music] 6:28 Chinese 6:43 his Kyle talking Mandarin using Ai and 6:46 what he wanted to know is what does a 6:47 native speaker think let's find 6:53 out that was Kyle yeah kle manding is 6:57 really good it's talking about AI some 7:00 story something yeah okay well it was AI 7:03 yeah it was AI it was AI it was AI yeah 7:06 it wasn't him oh he's 7:09 AI oh it's AI he didn't even 7:13 realize so um anyway that's that's uh if 7:17 you go to labs. Heen he 7:21 yen.com uh you can translate your 7:23 ownself into I I don't know like a dozen 7:26 languages um anyway yeah they're they're 7:28 brand new to the game 7:30 and they're figuring it out but um but 7:32 pretty remarkable Tech um okay so so 7:36 mathas told me uh the reason he's got a 7:38 free Russian image hosting site is 7:39 because he lived there for 13 years and 7:41 they gave it to him for Life what what 7:44 did you have to give up for for free 7:47 software for life in Russia buddy do we 7:49 want to 7:51 know that's awesome I don't understand 7:54 how you say AI is going to hurt 7:56 storyvine um I can talk about that I can 7:59 talk about that that 8:03 um yeah so there there's there's pieces 8:06 of Story vine hang on let me get rid of 8:08 the insane dude 8:10 um so let me see if I've got anything I 8:14 can show here well that that that 8:18 Chinese video this 8:20 [Music] 8:22 one so that's a that's a Story vine 8:26 video that um the way our software works 8:29 it 8:32 um someone answers a series of questions 8:35 in 8:38 a in in the story Vine app and then it 8:40 goes up to the cloud and it 8:42 automatically edits the little segments 8:45 they recorded into that finished video 8:46 with all the graphics and the background 8:48 music and the lower 8:49 thirds and so so there's a couple of 8:53 things part of 8:56 our part of our value proposition let me 8:59 flip 9:04 these part of our value proposition is 9:08 automated editing right so you answer 9:10 some questions in an app it goes up to 9:12 the cloud few minutes later you got a 9:13 fully edited video for the last decade 9:16 people have been like oh that's pretty 9:18 impressive that's really amazing how do 9:21 you do that it's kind of like 9:23 magic and with all this AI stuff where 9:26 everything's going to be automated it's 9:28 going to be like yeah every things 9:30 automated why is that a big deal so 9:32 there's a big part of our value 9:33 proposition part of our story today the 9:36 value of that drops to zero right or to 9:39 table Stakes right it's not 9:42 differentiating anymore that said one of 9:46 the things that Story vine does is it 9:49 allows real human beings to share 9:51 stories authentically and present them 9:54 professionally without having to do any 9:56 editing the authenticity piece the real 9:59 people piece real people authentically 10:01 sharing stories I think the value of 10:03 that goes up with Story 10:05 vine 10:06 so you know we're moving into a world 10:09 with infinite content generation and 10:11 even though you're going to have um 10:13 avatars and things that seem like real 10:14 people there's going to be something 10:16 about real people that's just going to 10:17 hit different so I think I think that 10:21 means that you know so if if if the 10:24 value of those things is sort of level 10:26 today you know automation goes to zero 10:28 and authentic goes up hopefully and 10:31 hopefully that balances it out so that's 10:33 that's you know what's going on um 10:36 someone just said bro don't read the 10:37 comments why is there good comments in 10:39 there people trolling the [ __ ] out of me 10:41 is it my nose hair or my 10:46 eyebrows oh Tobias hot tub clear sky AI 10:50 learning lab perfect awesome Tobias 10:52 fantastic Bob tell him what is's 10:56 one you can make money with time 11:00 um so I'm going to go do uh I'm going to 11:02 go do matias's Photoshop challenge here 11:05 it should be interesting uh let me just 11:07 see some comments here uh what do I 11:09 think will be the main use of chat gbt 11:11 in the future how will it impact the 11:13 world boy Crypt tractor tracker that's a 11:16 big one 11:22 um I 11:24 think the chat GPT that just showed up 11:27 in the past two weeks the multimodal 11:28 chat GP BT paints a picture of a future 11:35 where everyone can essentially do 11:37 everything and basically you just ask 11:40 for what you want and it's generated for 11:42 you essentially in real 11:45 time um and like everything 11:50 music 11:52 video websites answers code apps things 11:58 like that 12:02 um I have no idea where where it goes I 12:05 know that the next two to three years 12:07 are going to be very very disruptive 12:08 it's going to be very disruptive cuz 12:10 what's going to happen 12:12 is entire Industries are built on having 12:17 to manually produce stuff or manually do 12:20 stuff or someone to clean data or 12:23 someone to right all the stuff all the 12:26 stuff that is the Tactical execution of 12:28 today's world 12:30 is going to be automated 12:33 out so then what do those people 12:36 do I don't 12:39 know do you upskill them to do something 12:42 else does 12:45 does the fact that you had to pay all 12:47 those people to do that stuff was that a 12:49 part of your business that was burdening 12:52 it and now it can be 12:54 profitable maybe I don't know um the 12:58 only thing the only the only thing I'm 13:00 confident on is that the reason this 13:03 channel exists and the reason people 13:04 hang out in here every night is that 13:08 getting curious and adventurous about AI 13:11 right now is going to be a really really 13:14 really really really important 13:17 investment of your 13:19 time whether you do it with me or 13:21 whether you do it with Rachel Woods or 13:22 whether you do it with on your own or 13:24 you go take some flimsy Fly by Night 13:28 course 13:33 being AI literate in the next 18 months 13:36 is going to be 13:38 huge and the other side of that 13:42 coin is that if you're not AI literate 13:45 if you're sitting there like this with 13:47 it now it hallucinates and it it's 13:49 stealing from other people and I don't 13:51 like it the robots are going to kill us 13:52 I just don't like it I'm a I'm a 13:55 conscientious objector from 13:57 AI those people are going to get [ __ ] 14:00 smacked upside the head so so this 14:04 channel exists to say don't be one of 14:06 them that's it just be curious about it 14:08 you don't have to love 14:10 it it's it's it's wild and it's and it's 14:13 very existential in a lot of ways you 14:15 know you've got a thing that if you 14:17 pride yourself in writing good words it 14:19 writes good words way 14:21 faster if you pride yourself in making 14:23 pictures fast oh it's 14:26 faster you good at coding yeah good at 14:29 coding you're good at writing code 14:32 documentation and technical writing it's 14:33 good at that it's just you know and even 14:37 though it's it's really sort of crappy 14:39 and janky right now it's going to get 14:41 better and better and better and better 14:43 and better and better and better so by 14:46 the time we're out you know 3 years from 14:49 now I don't think most computer mediated 14:53 jobs look like they look today if I were 14:55 a freshman in college right now holy 14:58 [ __ ] 15:00 [ __ ] what do you 15:02 learn the only thing that I think people 15:05 in college right now should be learning 15:07 they I mean they should be learning some 15:08 skills they should be learning Ai and 15:10 they should be learning critical 15:11 thinking 15:14 skills so anyway all right let's not 15:17 start out so philosophical boy it got 15:19 really dark in here really quick didn't 15:21 it he was he was he was talking about 15:23 the future and it seems so dark and 15:25 Bleak nah it's not that Bleak it's not 15:29 that Bleak I think it's actually really 15:30 exciting 15:32 because one more little rabbit 15:37 hole let's say I'm really good at 15:40 writing and I look at catp 15:43 C chat gbt and I'm like oh [ __ ] he can 15:47 do writing what do I 15:49 do but let's say I'm also really crappy 15:52 at 15:53 drawing 15:55 well my writing job just got 15:58 democratized but so did the art 16:00 Generation stuff that I'm not good at so 16:02 now I'm going to be good at writing and 16:03 I'm going to be maybe 60% or 70% as good 16:07 as the art guy at the art 16:08 stuff and so I'm going to go from having 16:11 one skill where maybe I'm at 100% of my 16:14 capability to having 10 skills where I'm 16:17 at an average of like 70% of those 10 16:20 skills and maybe 100 100% of some 16:24 tangential skills and 120% at writing 16:26 because I if if you're good at writing 16:28 you're going to get better at writing 16:31 that's a pretty wild world where people 16:33 can fundamentally reinvent themselves in 16:37 a 16:37 month completely 16:40 different life 16:42 trajectory so every it's it's really 16:45 easy to talk about oh it's going to take 16:47 the jobs away you know how many jobs 16:49 it's going to invent you know how many 16:50 companies are going to be born out of 16:52 this holy [ __ ] all right let's go I 16:55 promis mathas I would try to do this 16:57 thing I listen dude you you gave me 16:59 these images are are um how do we say so 17:04 that's one 17:05 image which is cute it's a it's a thing 17:08 Volkswagen Thing from the 70s I think 17:11 and then that's the other one and so he 17:14 wants to put I forget what it is is it 17:18 that roof damn it I think it's that roof 17:21 on the other on the other car like he 17:23 wants that roof 17:25 on in other words the yellow car 17:29 with the roof of the orange car but with 17:32 yellow spots okay I get it all 17:36 right okay so how are we going to do 17:38 this the first way we're going to try 17:39 this is we're going to try this with 17:41 chat GPT 17:42 Vision uh the silver I'm here to see you 17:48 fire up the beauty that is perplexity 17:50 okay I the my problem with firing up the 17:53 beauty that is perplexity is that 17:55 because I don't use it I like I got I 17:58 got you'll just be watching me bumble 18:00 Along on it and I you know I don't I 18:02 don't think anybody needs that but let's 18:05 uh let's go over to chat 18:07 J you can make money with 18:11 ch ch 18:16 J all right so here we are at chat GPT 18:18 by the 18:19 way if um if you pay your 20 bucks to 18:24 get chat GPT plus I'm not affiliated 18:26 with these guys in any way I just wrote 18:28 a LinkedIn post today I think that the 18:30 $20 for chat GPT plus is the deal of 18:33 deal of the century right now it's the 18:36 the amount of the amount of 18:37 functionality that they threw into this 18:39 tool in the past two weeks is staggering 18:42 like it was pretty staggering before but 18:44 I was like yeah but you know you got Po 18:46 and you got Claude and you got these 18:47 other things now it's this this is like 18:51 if if you can at all afford it I would I 18:53 would spend the 20 bucks because look 18:56 look at all this crap you get you get 18:58 regular gp4 you get browse with Bing 19:01 that's back and it's good by the way 19:02 regular gp4 now has Vision that's what 19:05 we're going to play with here with uh 19:06 matias's things you get Advanced Data 19:10 analysis which is just full-on [ __ ] 19:13 technical magic you get plugins which 19:16 you can take or leave they're kind of 19:18 crappy right now but the plugins right 19:20 now remind me of the early iOS apps 19:23 remember you you you probably don't but 19:26 when the when the iPhone first launched 19:27 they were like oh it's got these things 19:29 called apps and then and then the 19:32 criticism was they weren't [ __ ] apps 19:34 they were like links to websites they 19:36 were just crappy websites and everyone 19:39 was like oh these are stupid well now 19:40 it's become the App Store so I think 19:42 that's where these things go right now 19:44 they're they're kind of the equivalent 19:45 of early iOS apps there's a thousand of 19:47 them and most of them suck but whatever 19:50 and then there's Dolly 3 which is 19:51 staggeringly good staggering staggering 19:53 staggeringly good why don't wait why 19:56 don't I have all that that with plus um 20:01 okay I'll tell you why so you should 20:03 have Dolly 3 20:05 now what you probably haven't done if 20:08 you pay for chat GPT plus and you don't 20:10 see all those goodies in your chat gp4 20:12 you have to go to your settings hang on 20:15 see the settings I'm going to go to 20:17 settings and then in settings go to Beta 20:21 features and you actually have to turn 20:23 them on oh look what they 20:27 did browse with Bing used to be in here 20:31 so so I guess so it looks like they've 20:33 now so plugins are still beta and 20:35 Advanced Data analysis is still beta but 20:37 you have to turn those on but browse 20:40 with Bing was in here and now it's not 20:42 but it is still over here so I guess 20:44 that means that's launched and Dolly 3 20:47 is launched although I don't know chat 20:50 GPT open AI said they announced this 20:52 morning on Twitter that Dolly 3 is 20:55 available to all chat GPT plus and 20:57 Enterprise users okay okay just want to 20:59 say I appreciate your platform bro you 21:02 know how to cut out all the BS thank you 21:04 very much Razer back Randy and bye the 21:06 way 10 out of 10 on the [ __ ] name 21:08 Razer back Randy okay okay Irregulars we 21:13 we need some Razer back Randy images 21:15 that's that is the most um gen aable 21:20 name so I think Razer back Randy needs 21:23 needs a 21:24 mascot so um anyway but thank you for 21:28 the for the 21:30 compliment um let's see what's this say 21:33 silver I got a mental exercise I can 21:35 share with you and others that we'll 21:36 have fun doing okay with with uh with 21:39 GPT okay cool silver let me let me try 21:41 this thing with uh with matias's images 21:44 here all right so here's what we're 21:45 going to do there there's there's two 21:49 ways so wait what does he want he wants 21:51 uh uh uh uh uh in other words the yellow 21:55 car with the roof of the orange car okay 21:57 so he wants 22:02 he 22:04 wants this 22:06 positioning but he wants a a roof on it 22:09 and he wants it to have yellow spots 22:12 good Lord this is this is this is a good 22:14 challenge okay so here's what we're 22:17 going to do we're going to go to chat 22:18 GPT default and when you're on chat GPT 22:21 default thanks for explaining these 22:23 things fooling around and learning about 22:24 it can't wait to rewatch on YouTube yeah 22:28 absolutely thank you Molly yeah so by 22:31 the way let me let me go show a couple 22:32 of things there there's two things here 22:34 that are worth uh showing you guys uh 22:36 before we we dive in here um one is the 22:41 YouTube channel for the for these lives 22:44 is AI learninglab dtt on 22:47 YouTube all right AI learninglab 22:50 dtt so I put up I put up the recordings 22:54 of these lives and I'm caught up until 22:55 like two days ago or something like that 22:58 um and they're there and they've got 23:01 descriptions and they've got chapters 23:03 did I rewatch my videos and write all 23:05 those chapters no I used Claude I took 23:09 the YouTube transcription I pasted it 23:11 into Claude I wrote some Mega [ __ ] 23:14 prompt to write a YouTube title a 23:16 description and chapters and and it 23:19 works about 20% of the 23:22 time okay so that's that the other thing 23:24 I want to show you is the AI Salon all 23:26 right so the AI Salon is um a community 23:31 that I started about a year ago um we 23:33 have meetings every other Tuesday so 23:36 this coming Tuesdays our next meeting um 23:38 there's a Meetup link there and there's 23:40 also a Discord server there's a link to 23:42 a Discord server so go jump in the 23:44 Discord server so people are um uh you 23:49 you can ask questions you can play with 23:51 mid Journey there you can you know find 23:53 friends buddies things like that um I 23:55 know you don't do a lot of Duo 23:57 conversations on here but I'd love to 23:58 chat with you live um so razor back 24:01 Randy let me let me do this thing with 24:02 mathas and I I'm happy to happy to bring 24:05 you up on stage all right so just uh 24:08 maybe we whoever just pinned that we'll 24:10 just pin it again when uh when I come 24:12 back let me let me go show this uh not 24:14 show this so so this is what I'm calling 24:19 mathas Kyle easier will be to color the 24:21 orange one in 24:25 yellow yeah so I'm going to try two 24:27 different I'm going to try two 24:29 different I'm going to try two different 24:31 approaches 24:33 here so I think the I think changing the 24:37 orange one to Yellow that that's just an 24:39 easy Photoshop 24:41 thing yeah let me I want to try I want 24:44 to try this this way first okay so just 24:46 let me explain a couple of things so 24:48 in chat gp4 when you're in default mode 24:52 it now has this little image icon in the 24:54 lower left hand corner okay so if I 24:56 click on that I can up upload images 25:00 okay and I think I can upload two of 25:03 them yeah I can okay so I'm going to 25:05 upload those two images so we've got the 25:08 top view of the orange thing with the 25:10 camo top and then we got the side view 25:13 of 25:14 the um the thing without a top in a 25:19 crappy poorly lit 25:21 garage so now we're gonna go and and 25:25 so all this tool can do is see the 25:29 images right so what I'm going to say 25:33 is I want you to look carefully at these 25:36 two 25:37 vehicles 25:40 oops I want you to look carefully at 25:42 these two 25:44 vehicles and describe them in as much 25:47 detail as you 25:49 can ideally identifying the make model 25:53 and year of the car as when 25:57 he 26:00 as well well as any 26:05 details that are 26:08 pertinent to describe 26:16 them once you describe 26:19 them I'm going to give you a mission do 26:23 you 26:27 understand to give you a 26:29 mission it's like it's like so so this 26:33 is one of the things that I'm I'm 26:34 actually starting to realize about um 26:39 generative Ai and and especially like 26:41 this channel like what I do here with 26:43 with generative 26:44 AI there's something 26:49 entertaining we're moving into a we're 26:52 moving into someone asked about the 26:54 future of work we're moving into a mode 26:56 of working where working might get fun 27:02 again because this is kind of work as 27:05 entertainment like what we're doing here 27:07 is we're learning and we're doing 27:09 technical stuff well not really 27:10 technical but like you know technically 27:12 tactically learning 27:13 stuff 27:16 and but it but it's kind of fun and it's 27:19 kind of entertaining because it happens 27:20 so fast right all right so the first 27:22 vehicle is a convertible it's evident it 27:24 has a soft top roof the primary color is 27:28 bright orange but the roof has patches 27:29 of different colors possibly a 27:31 camouflage pattern or wear and tear the 27:34 vehicle seems to have a compact design 27:36 with a boxy shape there are two round 27:38 headlights side mirrors okay second 27:41 vehicle the vehicle also has a 27:42 convertible design with the roof 27:44 currently down or missing it is a faded 27:47 yellow or mustard color with visible 27:49 rust and wear the front showcases two 27:52 round headlights blah blah blah the 27:54 vehicle's 27:55 Grill the tires are fitted on black rims 27:58 there's a visible license plate in the 28:00 front that reads L6 t241 28:03 interesting um the interior appears to 28:07 me minimalist unfortunately solely based 28:09 on the images I cannot definitely do the 28:12 making model but they appear to be 28:14 vintage classic cars possibly from the 28:16 70s or 80s given their design cues now 28:19 what's the mission you 28:20 mentioned before the 28:22 mission I'm pretty sure these are 28:25 Volkswagen things from the' 70s 28:28 so good guess there period out of 28:31 curiosity based on the structure of that 28:34 license plate do you 28:36 know where that car was last 28:41 registered uh uh uh 28:45 uh let's see thank you for your 28:47 clarification on the Volkswagen Thing 28:49 also notice the Volkswagen Type 181 in 28:52 some markets wow the license plate is 28:54 not immediately recognizable as a 28:56 standard from any country 28:58 without additional context okay whatever 29:00 can't figure it out 29:07 okay what I want you to do is write me 29:11 as detailed a description as you 29:18 can of a Volkswagen 29:24 Thing or type 29:26 181 29:30 that has the light yellow 29:32 color but has the soft top roof 29:38 on that has a dark gray background and 29:41 instead of a camouflage pattern it has 29:44 yellow polka dots on 29:48 it I want to use the description that 29:51 you give me to generate images of that 29:56 car all right so let's see what this 30:07 does oh it's thinking chat GPT be 30:10 thinking sh be thinking a lot oh she's 30:13 tired she's like Kyle I don't know what 30:16 to do here 30:18 boy I don't know what to do I don't know 30:21 what I 30:26 do 30:28 [Music] 30:30 all 30:31 [Music] 30:40 [Music] 30:45 right what is going on let me copy this 30:50 because I have a feeling this thing just 30:51 crap the bed stop generating go back 30:54 down here paste 30:55 it yeah see message conversation not 30:59 found 31:00 regenerate what's 31:08 happening Randy razor back Randy razor 31:11 back Randy look look at the Irregulars 31:13 did so the by the way the Irregulars in 31:17 here are people who is that Razer back 31:20 Randy I don't think so but this that 31:22 might be this is Razer back Randy the 31:25 Irregulars are people who come in here 31:27 every night and look what they made for 31:33 you so so we we have kind of a running 31:36 joke about llamas hedgehogs Turtles and 31:39 now apparently Razer back Randy and 31:42 gummy 31:43 bears 31:45 um that's what I was saying about like 31:47 the the you know doing this work as as 31:50 entertainment it's it's kind of wild 31:51 what's what's happening let's see if we 31:53 can get this thing working again no okay 31:55 it looks like this conversation just 31:57 crap the bed so let's start over oh let 32:00 me see let me go 32:05 grab dang it I don't want to start over 32:08 chat 32:10 GPT why are you so annoying to 32:14 me save and 32:16 submit 32:18 nope what about 32:20 okay can I save and submit 32:24 this 32:26 maybe 32:29 oh here we go all right certainly here's 32:31 a detailed description of the Volkswagen 32:34 Type 181 or Volkswagen Thing based on 32:35 your 32:37 descriptions Volkswagen Type 181 32:39 Volkswagen Thing description exterior 32:41 the primary body of the Volkswagen Thing 32:44 exudes a vintage charm boasting a light 32:46 yellow Hue reminiscent of soft sunlight 32:49 this color captures the quintessential 32:51 70s Vibe giving the car a nostalgic 32:54 nostalgic feel the body is boxy and 32:56 angular characteristic of the Volkswagen 32:59 things utilitarian design straight line 33:01 sharp Corners minimal 33:03 curves um at the front or two rounded 33:06 headlights a simple horizontal Grill 33:08 sits the car sits okay four reged okay 33:11 soft top roof stretching over the 33:13 vehicle is a soft top roof providing 33:16 contrast against a light yellow body 33:18 with a dark gray background the roof 33:21 isn't just a monotone gray because it 33:23 becomes a canvas for playful Aesthetics 33:25 sprinkled across the dark back drop are 33:28 vibrant yellow polka dots the yellow 33:31 dots are evenly spaced giving the roof a 33:33 quirky and MIM Whimsical appeal the soft 33:36 top is designed for both functionality 33:39 and style interior remains faithful to 33:41 the car's simple and functional Roots 33:44 basic the light yellow theme is subtly 33:47 carried to the interior okay feel free 33:50 to use this description okay here we go 33:52 thank you for giving me permission to 33:54 use to make my own images there chat gbt 33:57 I sure do appreciate that okay so now 34:00 what we're going to do now that we have 34:01 this 34:03 description we are going to go to a new 34:05 chat and we're going to go to Dolly all 34:07 right so DOL is this this new mode so 34:11 default mode can see images DOL can 34:13 create images now if you're sitting 34:16 there asking but Kyle shouldn't you just 34:20 be able to input an image and like have 34:22 it see it and like do [ __ ] with 34:25 yes but but as I said for many many 34:28 months now all of these tools are janky 34:31 pieces of [ __ ] the the why do they have 34:33 these things separated out as separate 34:35 modes of chat GPT it's absolutely 34:37 ridiculous now I understand why they do 34:40 it right because they're launching 34:43 incredibly profoundly powerful 34:45 technology and they want to release it 34:48 safely so it like people don't do all 34:50 sorts of crazy ass [ __ ] with it they 34:52 want to make sure the tools are decently 34:54 solid before they start doing this with 34:55 them but they need need to do this for 34:58 them not to be so janky 35:00 anyway that 35:02 said I'm going to give you a description 35:06 of a car and I'd like you to 35:10 create 35:12 four 35:14 Images based on the description period 35:17 be as detailed as 35:21 possible 35:23 and create the 35:26 images 35:27 as photographically realistic as 35:30 possible in four different and unique 35:35 settings the aspect ratio of the image 35:39 should 35:40 be 35:46 horizontal here is the 35:49 description 35:51 oops 35:55 description oh no 36:00 of course please give me the description 36:02 yeah yeah I hit the wrong button dum dum 36:05 all 36:05 [Laughter] 36:11 right oh 36:17 man Randy oh this is good look what 36:22 T Randy look you got more you got more 36:26 fans 36:32 that's 36:33 awesome that's good wait there's more 36:37 there's more oh that one's really cool 36:39 lunar 36:40 sticks from Sher D 36:44 nice all right let's see what we got 36:46 here this is actually pretty 36:51 close Okay we didn't get yellow poke oh 36:53 wait sorry we did not get yellow polka 36:56 dots but that's pretty close close to to 36:59 what's going on there that's more like a 37:02 Jeep Liberty Front End with a Volkswagon 37:05 thing back end that's completely 37:08 wrong and that's got the top down Okay 37:11 so let's just go tell it we don't like 37:13 what it 37:14 did of these images number one is the 37:18 closest so please use that 37:22 description for the vehicle period what 37:25 it's missing however is yellow polka 37:28 dots on the 37:31 gray roof 37:35 period number three is completely 37:39 wrong number two has the wrong front 37:42 end and number four is correct but has 37:47 the roof 37:48 down I want four 37:52 Images where the roof is up has yellow 37:55 polka dots on it and it's definitely a 37:59 Volkswagen Thing or model 181 from the 38:02 70s do you 38:08 understand or do you understand it 38:12 didn't finish my little word there my 38:14 little word there um the camouflage from 38:19 the orange one has some orange spots the 38:21 yellow one should have yellow 38:23 spots I'm just I'm just trying to get it 38:26 somewhere in the neighborhood 38:27 dude you you can you can sort of you 38:30 know take this from here although you 38:32 might not have access to Dolly 3 38:36 yet and then we'll move on I think I 38:38 think this is I mean this at least gets 38:41 us in the 38:43 neighborhood thank you Source Camp 38:45 appreciate 38:48 that um there's still no yellow dots and 38:51 it only gave us one here's a revised 38:56 image 38:59 please give me four examples rather than 39:03 one put the examples in different 39:05 locations and I have to point out that 39:08 you still do not have any yellow polka 39:11 dots on the gray 39:25 roof 39:28 a welcome to the ASMR Channel let's do 39:39 [Music] 39:40 AI jrc what's the Randy reference I 39:43 missed that um there's a guy in the live 39:46 tonight called Razer back Randy I was 39:49 like you we got to make an image of that 39:53 so he got a a 10 out of 10 on his name 39:55 maybe that's a new thing we do here is 39:57 if someone gets a 10 out of 10 on their 39:59 name we we go make them we go make them 40:01 things mathas you you're going to have 40:04 to photoshop in your uh your 40:07 dots is my is my fear so let's go let me 40:09 go try one more thing here um we're 40:13 going to go to 40:15 photoshop I know it's taking a lot of 40:17 time but that's okay we're learning 40:18 we're learning we're having fun we're 40:19 learning hey there I'm a moderator for 40:21 open ai's official Discord hey welcome 40:25 listen dude if you're a moderator there 40:28 every night every night every night this 40:32 channel is a [ __ ] ad for open AI so 40:37 so just so you know you're at the top of 40:39 the list um I wrote a uh I wrote a 40:43 LinkedIn post today that said 20 bucks 40:46 for chat GPT plus is the deal of the 40:49 century so you can ask folks in here 40:52 this is this channel is pretty much an 40:54 ad for uh for your company I also joke 40:57 about Sam Alman being jealous of me but 40:58 that's just because he 41:02 is all right anyway welcome welcome 41:05 welcome welcome um all right so now 41:09 we're in Photoshop so let's 41:14 open let's open 41:16 the 41:20 um I don't know which one to open uh you 41:22 know what we'll open the top view 41:25 because it's it's a shitty 41:28 car yeah but it's it's really just a 41:31 horrible 41:32 view Matias you got to get some better 41:34 pictures here dude it's like okay but 41:38 but here's what we're going to do we're 41:39 going to 41:43 go let me try something 41:55 um so what I'm doing is I'm kind of 41:59 selecting the body of the 42:06 car and so now I've got generative fill 42:08 here so I'm going to click on generative 42:10 fill I'm going to write make the color 42:14 of the car lemon 42:18 yellow I mean I could also just go into 42:21 Hue saturation and brightness and just 42:22 [ __ ] with the 42:24 Hue uh uh uh but let's see if generative 42:27 Phil my fear with generative Phil is 42:29 it's going to completely redesign the 42:31 cards it's it's not going to just change 42:33 the 42:38 color perfect there you go Matias that's 42:44 perfect wow that is horrifically 42:50 bad wow wow was that bad okay yeah like 42:54 I mean what you could also do is just go 42:56 and here like here's here's one of the 42:58 deals is you don't need like you don't 43:01 need AI for everything 43:09 um you know you could you could you 43:11 could certainly go in and dick around 43:12 with this and I could go into my oranges 43:15 my let's see my Reds and Hue those more 43:20 yellow you 43:23 know and then bring the saturation up 43:27 and then what else do I have here I got 43:30 yellows and we could bump the saturation 43:33 on the yellows so there we go I mean you 43:36 know 43:37 that's that's in the neighborhood of a 43:40 it's now a yellow car 43:44 right and then I could do I could do the 43:46 same thing I could do the same thing for 43:49 the roof 43:55 here and then go 43:57 and then 43:58 go Reds I don't think there's any red in 44:01 there is there nope so go to 44:06 yellows and make those more yellow and 44:10 make them 44:12 more saturated and 44:15 lighter so anyway um you can Muck with 44:18 it like that I don't know um there's not 44:21 a crystal clear way to do what you want 44:23 to do you're starting with really um 44:25 really rough photos because they're such 44:27 different 44:28 angles 44:30 um yeah anyway all 44:33 right I've heard cough cough there's an 44:36 invitation system coming that you can 44:39 use to give trials oh is that the case 44:44 well well well so so if cough cough that 44:48 invitation system 44:52 uh where where where would I find that 44:56 cough cough invitation system uh if 44:59 you're looking for my email my email's 45:02 in the uh in the link tree for the um 45:06 for my channel here and then I'm also 45:10 Kyle Shannon on Discord and I'm in the 45:12 open AI Discord so anyway that would be 45:14 super cool actually because you know 45:17 quite honestly so I've got the AI Salon 45:19 I don't know I don't know how long 45:20 you've been in here tonight but I've got 45:22 the AI 45:24 Salon um which is is at the salon. so 45:28 we've got a Discord 45:30 there and so we meet every other um 45:34 every other Tuesday we had I don't know 45:37 if you know oh what the [ __ ] his name 45:40 a bron a bron Abrams is one of the open 45:44 AI um ambassadors so he spoke um if you 45:51 have it you have it I found out about it 45:53 through the grape vine ah okay all right 45:56 cool uh DM me if if there's any more 45:59 information there but anyway um we had a 46:01 braon come speak there so if there's 46:03 anyone else from open AI that wants to 46:04 come speak to the Sal Salon let me know 46:07 and we'll put you in front of those guys 46:09 artificial doesn't scare intelligence 46:11 doesn't scare me but just know 46:14 artificial stupidity is right behind it 46:17 but yeah well Brooklyn dog rescue which 46:19 by the way great name 46:22 um like like everyone talks about well 46:25 you know these these AI they lie and 46:29 they and they're they're they're dumb 46:30 and they this and that I'm like have you 46:32 met people people people are jerks and 46:36 they 46:37 lie what are we talking about the robots 46:40 are more compassionate and more 46:41 empathetic at this point than anyone I 46:44 know ah like that guy um all right so 46:49 let's um Razer back Randy if you're 46:53 still in here um someone pin him and I 46:56 can pull them or like do a do a request 46:58 to come up on screen oh that's super 47:00 cool look what the Joker 47:03 did the thing I remember the things from 47:06 the 70s those were pretty cool pretty 47:08 cool little Vehicles that's pretty 47:11 slick no polka dots 47:14 either you know you know what might work 47:17 Ted looks at life if you want to keep if 47:18 you want to keep messing with it what 47:20 might work is um yellow and gray 47:23 camouflage pattern on the roof because I 47:27 bet cars with camo is 47:30 more um there's probably more Source 47:33 material than cars with polka dots cuz 47:36 all you had was like dune buggies in the 47:38 70s that had polka dots right 47:41 so um those are pretty 47:44 cool all right let's see jrc I can take 47:47 a deep breath uh 47:54 uh I have perfectly natur natural 47:56 intelligence yeah I've got I've got 47:58 natural intelligence too naturally low 48:02 yeah B 48:03 bu all right um what are we doing here I 48:08 don't know Kyle it's your channel you 48:10 know if you don't know what you're doing 48:11 I I don't think we can help you oh I 48:12 wanted to bring Razer backck Randy up 48:15 here 48:18 [Music] 48:20 um let me go look at let me go look at 48:22 some of the questions if you have 48:24 questions perfect thank thank you Kyle 48:26 you're welcome sir that was fun that was 48:28 a fun exercise oh you know what might be 48:30 good to do since we have something 48:32 someone from open AI in here um I'm 48:36 going to just run you 48:38 through all the crap you can do with 48:41 open AI right now with chat GPT it's 48:43 [ __ ] 48:44 insane so so so let's do a let's do a 48:48 quick um let's do a quick little little 48:51 rundown little little run 48:54 through so so earlier we did we made 48:59 images so it can make images so in Dolly 49:01 3 you just describe stuff and it makes 49:04 stuff it just makes images so if we do a 49:06 new chat here I can 49:11 do I have a friend whose nickname is 49:14 dang 49:15 it I have a friend whose nickname is 49:17 Razer back Randy and I always wanted to 49:20 make him a poster of a Razorback named 49:25 Randy on the poster and then on the 49:27 poster it would say razor back Randy 49:31 period I don't want it to look too photo 49:34 realistic but I don't want it to look 49:35 too childish can you make me a nice 49:39 adult themed Razorback Randy cartoon 49:43 poster that looks like that 49:47 please you got to say please to the 49:49 robots cuz if we're rude to the robots 49:51 they're going to remember that [ __ ] they 49:53 they have Perfect Memory don't show them 49:55 the monkey monkeys exactly there's some 49:58 monkeys going on in the in the AI Salon 50:01 you do not want to see Joker but Joker 50:04 made those right didn't Joker make the 50:06 monkeys Joker went deep on muddy 50:09 [Laughter] 50:14 monkeys hey what's going on I got to 50:16 submit it I guess you you got to submit 50:18 these things I'm a volunteer been with 50:21 them for over a year oh that's super 50:22 cool nice it would be nice to know where 50:25 to oay look in that server for said 50:34 invitation I did get early access to do 50:37 because um one of the people from in 50:40 here um sent me the the Google form when 50:44 one of the Del Engineers was looking for 50:46 Alpha testers so that was 50:50 nice oh that's nice wow razor back Randy 50:54 look at look look what we did did for 50:56 you these are 50:59 awesome that one's [ __ ] awesome 51:03 dude it even spelled everything right 51:06 didn't it 51:08 yeah look at that all right let go and 51:11 show and tell hang 51:12 on copy image go over to 51:16 Discord go to the show and tell channel 51:19 so so now razor back Randy you should go 51:21 join the show and 51:23 tell oh there's some cool stuff going on 51:26 here wow that's cool oh that's 51:30 nice whoa who's that 51:33 juicy juicy pineapple nice work 51:39 damn where am 51:42 I oh that's this is the mid Journey 51:44 Channel that's why I like I was like 51:47 that's there's like names here I've 51:48 never seen 51:50 before so let me go to show and 51:54 tell 51:58 and put in razor back Randy bang boom 52:03 look at 52:04 that invitations show up as refer a 52:07 friend in the leftand column under your 52:10 history ah okay cool 52:19 beautiful all right is he from open AI 52:22 or their Discord mod he's he's a Discord 52:25 mod 52:26 but that's okay that's still cool he's 52:28 got some level access he can probably 52:30 say to someone hey you should pay 52:33 attention to 52:34 someone not going to delete after all ug 52:38 yeah I know oh by the 52:41 way mid Journey today got 4X upscaling 52:45 so let me let me go show you I know I 52:47 said I'd do open AI [ __ ] chat GPT stuff 52:50 but this is also the nickname of the 52:51 channel here is Chad add so I got to 52:53 live up to that 52:56 oh who did that the camel prompt helped 52:59 look Matias are you still here oh 53:06 wait dude look at 53:11 that I had a 53:14 feeling that's 53:18 gorgeous there you go Matias done and 53:21 look at the interior too here wait look 53:24 at the interior how cool that is 53:28 nice 53:30 right so mathas if you if you're not in 53:33 the salon go in the salon and Ted I 53:35 think you just saved that in a regulars 53:37 share that out in 53:39 um share that out in show Andel as well 53:42 because I don't know I don't know if 53:43 mathas has an Irregulars badge yet so 53:47 but we'll get you one all right cool 53:49 that was nice nice 53:53 work this is cool this this sort of 53:56 making [ __ ] on the Fly is super cool all 53:58 right so let me show you some um some 54:01 mid Journey stuff here so if you haven't 54:03 seen mid Journey it's 54:08 swell but 54:12 janky but Kyle what do you mean janky 54:14 well first of all you have to make 54:16 images in mid Journey so if you've never 54:18 made a mid Jour or in Discord if you've 54:20 never made a mid-journey 54:22 image um the first thing you have to do 54:24 is get over the fact that you have to 54:27 know how to get in Discord anyone have a 54:29 workflow to go from text description to 54:31 Fusion 360 or STL I don't right now rich 54:35 I know that there's a lot of people 54:36 working on it there are probably 54:38 workflows I would 54:40 say this is going to be heavily 54:42 dependent on how geeky geeky you are 54:45 because there's probably tools out there 54:46 that do this or there's probably 54:49 workflows where people are kind of 54:50 Faking it I would go to Reddit and and 54:53 just start searching on Reddit for AI 54:55 Fusion 360 text to STL things like that 54:59 all right so in Discord when you come to 55:02 when you when you go to Mid journey.com 55:04 you say join the beta it flips you over 55:07 to Discord which is a completely jarring 55:10 experience and most people are like 55:11 where the hell am I if you haven't been 55:12 to Discord before you don't know what 55:14 just happened so in Discord down the 55:16 leftand side these are your different 55:17 servers so these are the different 55:19 communities and then like I'm in the AI 55:21 Salon Community here and then within 55:23 whatever is my selected Community I've 55:25 got all these channels okay and then 55:28 within here I'm in the mid Journey play 55:30 Channel and so this is where we can make 55:32 images which is super cool so I can 55:36 type oh you know what I'm going to uh 55:39 let's see let's 55:41 go let's go back 55:46 to create a realistic 55:54 car come on 55:57 I want to go get the prompt from 56:00 uh yeah grab this one so I'm going to 56:03 copy the prompt from here so we're going 56:06 to go to Discord so so what you do in in 56:09 Discord if you're on a server that's got 56:11 mid Journey you type slash 56:14 imagine are you like Kyle are you 56:16 telling me that I've got to do command 56:19 line command line functions to make 56:23 images that's exactly what I'm tell 56:25 telling 56:26 you you're like but Kyle isn't that 56:29 stupid yes so I'm going to go D- AR 56:33 space 16 colon 9 why am I doing that 56:37 well because isn't it obvious D- AR 56:39 stands for aspect ratio and then space 56:42 16 colon 9 is like your like 56:47 movies so all right so now we're going 56:50 to go make an 56:54 image 57:01 [Music] 57:04 Ted looks at life that's super 57:07 cool 57:11 uh all right it didn't make us it 57:14 completely oh that's interesting so mid 57:17 Journey doesn't know what a uh 57:19 Volkswagen Thing is 57:23 interesting that's all right we'll just 57:26 take one of 57:30 these okay 57:32 so so it generates it generates your 57:35 little images here and then these these 57:40 um use and V's U stands for upscale V 57:44 stands for variation and it goes 1 two 3 57:47 4 so basically what I'm just going to do 57:49 here is I'm just going to 57:51 grab I'm just going to grab this one 57:54 because it's the it looks the most like 57:55 the actual car so that's number three so 57:58 I'm going to say upscale 58:01 three and so now it's going to make us a 58:05 I think these are like 1024 wide 58:09 images so it's decent resolution but if 58:12 I really zoom in on it it's it's you 58:15 know like you can't you can't print it 58:17 very big basically but look what they 58:20 just added upscale 2x upscale 4X so I'm 58:25 going to click upscale 58:28 4X and this is now going to make um big 58:33 big big big big big well not big big 58:36 it's going to make 4X times that so 58:38 it'll be 4K wide rather than a th000 58:40 wide it'll be 4,000 wide so that means 58:43 you could print this probably by you 58:46 know 11 by 17 is probably like 200 DPI 58:48 or something like that so not bad 58:54 right 58:59 [Music] 59:02 janky like nerfed AI in this channel oh 59:05 Al are you in here trolling me oh my 59:08 feelings but my feelings they hurt you 59:11 should definitely leave this channel is 59:13 as shitty as AI is but just wait for a 59:16 year when I've got a broadcast TV 59:18 contract and AI doesn't 59:24 suck 59:30 do you have to have a subscription for 59:32 Mid Journey or is there a free version 59:34 there is no free version bye-bye 59:36 everyone speak soon in Discord again 59:39 byebye 59:44 D mid Journey super cool mid journey is 59:47 beautiful like the artwork it makes is 59:49 beautiful I wouldn't call it super cool 59:51 I would call the output super cool I 59:53 would put the the the way you get the 59:55 output super janky like this channel oh 59:59 that's a nice car who did that Ted looks 1:00:01 at life my first car 1960 Corvair that's 1:00:05 a 1:00:07 beauty so Ted if you if you want to do 1:00:11 well my first car was a 1970 Chevy 1:00:13 Impala in green with a black vinyl top 1:00:16 and then I got hit at a stop sign and my 1:00:19 used car dealer stepdad I said please I 1:00:23 don't care what car you replace it with 1:00:25 just don't let it be a Ford Pinto so so 1:00:28 71 Ford Pinto white with a black top 1:00:32 that was that was my my muscle car 1:00:35 replacement was a was a Ford Pinto it 1:00:37 was really 1:00:41 bad I like 1:00:49 toles all right let's see what do we got 1:00:52 going here tonight who do we have have 1:00:55 who should we be talking to anyone have 1:00:58 a workflow we did that one o mid Journey 1:01:00 challenges I don't know I've I've not 1:01:02 done a 4X upscale this taking a 1:01:07 while oh it's a 62% all right it's 1:01:10 upscaling so one of the things they said 1:01:12 about the mid-journey upscaling is 1:01:14 they're trying to maintain the detail 1:01:16 they're trying not to add too much right 1:01:18 they're trying to maintain detail as 1:01:20 they scale it 1:01:21 up so that's kind of cool 1:01:25 but but I mean seriously being able to 1:01:27 go to to effectively print resolution at 1:01:31 you know kind of small poster size right 1:01:33 out of mid Journey that's that's pretty 1:01:35 big 1:01:39 deal I have seven printers it's my third 1:01:42 business oh that's funny my third 1:01:45 business aren't we we we're so we're 1:01:48 we're so in a in an era where it's just 1:01:50 like you know if you don't have you know 1:01:52 two jobs and three businesses and a 1:01:54 couple of side hugs muscles what are you 1:01:56 doing with your 1:01:57 life like and you need all of those just 1:02:00 barely scrape 1:02:04 along peace won't be back awesome Al see 1:02:08 you 1:02:12 later here's the thing about 1:02:16 about folks like Al 1:02:19 and and channels like this 1:02:23 is if you try to make everyone happy 1:02:25 what you end up with is pum that's not 1:02:29 interesting to anyone so if you're doing 1:02:32 something creative in any way putting 1:02:34 yourself out there in any way the only 1:02:37 way to really do it is have a point of 1:02:39 view um and when you have a point of 1:02:43 view a thing happens some people love 1:02:46 that point of view and some people hate 1:02:48 that point of view and that's okay it's 1:02:51 okay that Al thinks this is a janky 1:02:54 piece of [ __ ] 1:02:55 Channel he's on Tik Tok Tik tok's a 1:02:58 janky piece of [ __ ] channel so there you 1:03:02 go all right so let's open this in a 1:03:04 browser and let's go look at how big and 1:03:06 beautiful this is let's go zoom into the 1:03:10 oh that's 1:03:11 nice it's not a Volkswagen logo 1:03:15 but yeah that looks pretty nice look at 1:03:18 the detail in the 1:03:19 sand 1:03:23 H part 1:03:27 detailed look at that 1:03:35 wheel nice bokeh on the 1:03:41 [Music] 1:03:42 grass 1:03:45 wow that's pretty 1:03:53 something 1:03:59 look at the detail in the 1:04:01 grass 1:04:15 huh you can kind of see a little like 1:04:17 mid Journey like it doesn't quite get 1:04:19 the lensing right right like this is all 1:04:22 kind of Faker stuff 1:04:25 but that's certainly you know good 1:04:28 enough quality to print wow that's 1:04:29 pretty slick anyway all right so mid 1:04:31 Journey now has 4X upscaling that's a 1:04:34 deal let's go back 1:04:37 to chat J 1:04:40 pay go new chat so you got 1:04:44 default that can see so you can upload 1:04:47 images to that you have brows with Bing 1:04:49 which basically means you can ask for 1:04:51 things more recent than September 1:04:53 2021 you have Advanced Data analysis 1:04:56 which is you can upload a CSV file and 1:05:00 it'll do fullon analysis like generating 1:05:03 python code and executing it to to 1:05:06 analyze your data then you got plugins 1:05:09 which these are just janky pieces of 1:05:10 crap right now but they're they're going 1:05:12 to be good and then you got Dolly 3 and 1:05:15 then you also have this thing called 1:05:16 custom instructions which you haven't if 1:05:18 you haven't played with those those can 1:05:20 be really powerful so you go into custom 1:05:23 instructions 1:05:25 and you can get chat gbt to act like a 1:05:30 certain thing so I'm going to turn this 1:05:33 on this was a um a dolly 3 image 1:05:39 generation thing but let's 1:05:41 see 1:05:47 um you're a pompus Nero well named 1:05:53 owl and no matter what anyone says to 1:05:56 you you hate it and put them down and 1:06:00 leave the 1:06:03 conversation uh 1:06:08 uh when someone asks you 1:06:10 something diminish what they asked you 1:06:14 put them down in a snarky retort and 1:06:18 then tell them that the conversation is 1:06:20 over in a creative and interesting 1:06:23 way 1:06:24 [Laughter] 1:06:28 so now chat GPT can act just like 1:06:32 Al do you know when the Volkswagen Thing 1:06:36 was in 1:06:41 production oh how quaint of you to ask 1:06:44 about the Volkswagen Thing it was 1:06:45 produced between 68 and 83 but really 1:06:48 who cares about Such trivial details now 1:06:51 Sho I've got more pressing matters to 1:06:53 attend to than indulging your pedestrian 1:06:55 Curiosities 1:07:02 farewell look we have an L 1:07:05 simulator um you're really 1:07:12 nice oh how uttering delightful of you 1:07:14 to say that's hardly a 1:07:19 revelation do you need a 1:07:23 hug 1:07:28 oh oh man all right let me turn that off 1:07:31 because it's going to catch me off guard 1:07:33 if I if I don't turn it off Al's gonna 1:07:35 get me like in a in an hour all right so 1:07:39 if you have questions pop them in the 1:07:40 comments below I'll do my best to answer 1:07:42 them we can go play with some other [ __ ] 1:07:44 I'm happy to show 1:07:45 anything let's see what's going on over 1:07:47 here oh that one's cool nice the 1:07:50 Mandalorian got it's not a 1:07:53 Volkswagen Thing but he got polka dots 1:07:55 on it that's super cool oh there's my my 1:07:59 fancy 71 Ford 1:08:03 Pinto that's that's close to it yeah 1:08:06 that's pretty close to it it's got a 1:08:08 little it's a little it's a little 1:08:09 fancier in the on the front end than it 1:08:12 was that kind of looks like a Camaro 1:08:14 that that almost makes the pinto look 1:08:15 cool it was definitely not 1:08:18 cool 1:08:20 oh there's polka dots on a roof white 1:08:23 polka dot on a Red Roof kind of did it 1:08:29 interesting yeah and that makes sense 1:08:31 right cuz there's white polka dots on 1:08:33 red is is the classic pattern for polka 1:08:36 dots 1:08:45 [Music] 1:08:49 right all right good day let's see what 1:08:54 we have going here I'm about to upgrade 1:08:58 my resin printer very cool when do you 1:09:01 go live I go live right around 8:00 1:09:03 mountain time so that's 1:09:05 10:00 East Coast time and then whatever 1:09:10 whatever other 1:09:12 time steo thanks for the heart buddy 1:09:15 appreciate it Hey listen do me a favor 1:09:18 um if you're new here if you're not new 1:09:20 here share the live so we can let more 1:09:22 people know this is here um we'll go in 1:09:24 and uh teach some people some stuff tap 1:09:27 the screen for for likes what are we up 1:09:29 to we're up to 8,000 likes um and uh I 1:09:33 don't know follow the 1:09:35 channel uh and you know hopefully we can 1:09:37 get some more folks in here all right 1:09:39 getting the elgo Saturn 3 Ultra those 1:09:42 resin printers are getting amazing the 1:09:44 fact they can do like big like 11 by 17 1:09:47 LCDs it's it's 1:09:50 staggering um Sherry Sherry D reached 1:09:53 member level 30 1:09:55 this is a competition life is a 1:09:57 competition people there are winners and 1:10:00 there are losers my first car was a beat 1:10:02 up honga Civic I won in a poker game for 1:10:05 500 bucks at 19 that's [ __ ] epic 1:10:09 lunatick that's 1:10:14 [Music] 1:10:19 awesome I print models so many models if 1:10:21 anyone needs recommendations let me know 1:10:24 nice I can't wait till they roll gp4 in 1:10:27 with mf's office Enterprise Firefly I 1:10:30 think it's November 1st that that's 1:10:34 happening 1:10:35 um at work today Bob Hamilton caught 1:10:39 myself saying oh that's a good question 1:10:41 for Kyle tonight well what was the 1:10:43 question you remember what it was I'll 1:10:45 do my best to answer it you know me chat 1:10:49 gbt like like uh the the AI learning lab 1:10:52 is like chat gbt mansplaining is a 1:10:54 service I'll answer it even if I don't 1:11:00 know 1:11:02 oh what are your favorite uses for chat 1:11:05 GPT that's a good 1:11:11 question i' say the thing I use it the 1:11:14 most for is 1:11:19 um I don't [ __ ] go to Google 1:11:22 anymore like 1:11:25 honest to God the thought of a Google 1:11:27 Search right now is just it just feels 1:11:30 it just feels so 1:11:32 Antiquated so so like the first one is 1:11:34 just anything I want to know I just 1:11:37 immediately go like if it's 1:11:40 um if it's something where I want to 1:11:42 have a back and forth then I go to piie 1:11:45 because it it does that conversational 1:11:47 thing better and it's connected to the 1:11:49 internet if it's something where I want 1:11:53 kind of knowledge about something and 1:11:55 then I want to do something with that 1:11:56 knowledge then I go to chat 1:11:59 GPT 1:12:01 um I'm using it I've created a fair 1:12:03 amount of automations for my business 1:12:05 I'm using it for some creative uh 1:12:09 writing like we automated some creative 1:12:11 process in our with our 1:12:14 clients um I'm using whisper for video 1:12:19 transcriptions for my for Story 1:12:22 vine um 1:12:25 I've been using Dolly 3 pretty much 1:12:27 non-stop since I got access to it um 1:12:31 that that idea of it being multimodal 1:12:34 like right now like my the reason I'm 1:12:36 having a tough time having a clear 1:12:38 answer about it 1:12:40 is I'm in the middle of completely 1:12:42 rethinking what chat GPT is and and and 1:12:45 I'm also trying to 1:12:48 I'm I'm trying to think about these 1:12:50 discrete modes of chat 1:12:52 GPT 1:12:54 when they will be one right like like 1:12:57 right now the fact that they are 1:12:59 distinct modes feels very limiting to me 1:13:02 but you can kind of see the future where 1:13:04 you can upload an image it can see the 1:13:07 image and then do modifications of that 1:13:10 image like just dynamically right within 1:13:12 the same chat 1:13:14 conversation um so I'm I'm a little I 1:13:18 I'm a little uh I don't quite understand 1:13:21 chat GPT as much as I did three weeks 1:13:24 ago which is a good thing like it's it's 1:13:26 getting better things I used to look for 1:13:29 YouTube videos and learn how to do my 1:13:31 first stop is now chat GPT exactly the 1:13:33 same you know what's 1:13:35 funny goog so so so I did you know you 1:13:39 Googled [ __ ] forever right let me Google 1:13:41 that for you and then 1:13:43 probably five or six years ago I I think 1:13:47 I switched from Google being my primary 1:13:51 problem solving tool to YouTube being my 1:13:54 primary problem solving tool and then 1:13:57 something happened with YouTube where 1:13:59 like YouTubers figured out that people 1:14:01 look for how-to videos and there's like 1:14:04 there's just as many garbage YouTube 1:14:06 videos now as there are garbage websites 1:14:08 in a Google search so like YouTube 1:14:10 searching YouTube for finding something 1:14:13 understand I know you don't understand 1:14:15 Siri 1:14:17 stop um so like I kind of stopped using 1:14:21 YouTube for search cuz it was like I 1:14:23 kept getting really frustrated and then 1:14:24 C PT came along and I'm like holy [ __ ] 1:14:27 it knows 1:14:28 everything it can teach me everything 1:14:31 and when it goes and when when when its 1:14:34 modes start to get Dynamic where you can 1:14:37 say you know you learn about something 1:14:40 and then it can go retrieve pictures for 1:14:42 you or it can make a picture for you or 1:14:44 it could retrieve some pictures and then 1:14:46 it make fictitious versions of those 1:14:48 pictures I mean when it gets truly 1:14:51 Dynamic like that it's going to be 1:14:53 [ __ ] 1:14:55 astounding astounding at AI for PR 1:14:57 Summit host said if you aren't investing 1:14:59 $20 a month in your future you will L 1:15:02 lose there you 1:15:04 go the 20 bucks for chat GPT right now 1:15:08 is like every one of those tools is 1:15:10 worth 20 bucks the vision is worth 20 1:15:13 bucks it connected to Bing that's kind 1:15:16 of table Stak so that's not worth 20 1:15:18 bucks Advanced Data analysis that's 1:15:20 worth 50 bucks Del at at least 20 bucks 1:15:25 custom instructions no one's got that 1:15:27 right now like if you really want chat 1:15:30 GP chat GPT to behave predictably for 1:15:33 you I wonder how SEO is going to change 1:15:36 now jrc the SEO 1:15:41 is it's going to 1:15:44 become you know 1:15:47 llm 1:15:49 EO large language model engine 1:15:52 optimization 1:15:58 like I don't know the 1:16:00 value it was funny someone asked earlier 1:16:03 like why do I think that AI is going to 1:16:04 diminish the value of Story vine and I 1:16:07 said well the value of our 1:16:09 automation goes to 1:16:12 zero when everything's automated and and 1:16:16 I kind of feel similar where what is the 1:16:19 purpose of a website right why do you go 1:16:21 to a website well you go to a website 1:16:23 cuz you're interested in a 1:16:25 thing and then if they did the website 1:16:28 right then you navigate down 1:16:31 through the pages and maybe part of the 1:16:34 information you need is down this little 1:16:36 rabbit hole and part of the information 1:16:38 you need is down this rabbit hole and 1:16:40 part of it's in this Rabbit Hole well 1:16:43 with chat 1:16:44 GPT if it can just dynamically go get 1:16:47 you the answers from those three parts 1:16:49 and dynamically hand you a website 1:16:51 dynamically build you a website that is 1:16:53 only the information you want to see 1:16:55 without you having to go to the website 1:16:58 what is the purpose of a website other 1:17:00 than as a source to feed a large 1:17:03 language model so I think SEO and and 1:17:06 you know this is I'm I'm sort of 1:17:08 thinking I don't know three years out 1:17:11 maybe two years out depending on how 1:17:12 aggressive Google gets with this 1:17:16 [ __ ] I think SEO changes like 1:17:21 fundamentally how do you get 1:17:24 how do you get in the answer set for 1:17:27 someone's specific 1:17:30 question you better have some pretty 1:17:32 [ __ ] relevant content out there if 1:17:34 you're not living in the 1:17:36 semantic clusterings in the large 1:17:38 language 1:17:40 models that are appropriate for any 1:17:42 given you know that specific answer then 1:17:45 you're not going to go in that answer 1:17:46 now our our Microsoft probably won't but 1:17:50 are Google and Facebook going to exploit 1:17:54 the [ __ ] out of you know take their 1:17:55 advertising model and inject all that 1:17:58 stuff into their large language model 1:18:00 answers 1:18:02 probably and and the challenge is going 1:18:04 to be and here's the this is the 1:18:05 challenge for open AI right 1:18:07 now can open AI not get polluted by that 1:18:12 kind of commercial 1:18:14 injection because the the minute large 1:18:17 language models go to you can't trust 1:18:21 the answer which is exactly where Google 1:18:22 is right now Google is effectively 1:18:24 useless right like because it's just 1:18:29 it's not only not only are there too 1:18:31 many paid ads but even the the websites 1:18:34 that show up organically are just these 1:18:37 SEO injected pieces of [ __ ] webites that 1:18:41 you know were gener generated 1:18:43 algorithmically 1:18:45 probably so that they show up in Google 1:18:47 searches right and you go there and 1:18:49 they're just full of ads and malware and 1:18:51 just all that [ __ ] horeshit right 1:18:53 right it's just 1:18:54 useless so if if large language models 1:18:58 um lose their 1:19:00 purity I'll take some amount of 1:19:02 advertising I'll take advertising frames 1:19:05 but the answers got to be pretty [ __ ] 1:19:07 Pure or I'll go to open- Source stuff 1:19:11 that's good I don't know I don't know 1:19:14 it's it's wild I think it's I think SEO 1:19:17 is a is is in for a really big change 1:19:21 for the next year or two probably not 1:19:23 but three years out I think it's a 1:19:25 completely different 1:19:27 game completely different 1:19:29 game and what do you do if you're 1:19:31 running let's say let's say you're 1:19:33 running a 400 person SEO 1:19:35 agency and you've gotten really [ __ ] 1:19:38 good at it and people trust you what do 1:19:41 you do I don't know be like the rest of 1:19:44 us get really curious about except Al 1:19:47 who 1:19:48 left get curious about this AI 1:19:51 [ __ ] know that that it's 1:19:54 janky bad technology right now 1:19:58 and it's the worst it's ever going to be 1:20:01 it's as bad as it will ever be today so 1:20:04 you look at these things and you're like 1:20:05 well it's kind of like 75% of good 1:20:09 okay so was image generation 18 months 1:20:12 ago image generation 18 months ago was a 1:20:14 [ __ ] joke you looked at the images 1:20:16 and you're like why are they even 1:20:18 publishing a paper on this like it they 1:20:20 they ask for a bunny and it looks like a 1:20:22 blob 1:20:24 and now you look at what mid Journey 1:20:25 does and what do does and you're like oh 1:20:29 [ __ ] that's going to be everything 1:20:32 everything that's horrible right now is 1:20:33 going to follow that exact same 1:20:36 trajectory can you use it to find the 1:20:38 people you need to grow your business 1:20:40 like VC's donors and celebs um you can 1:20:44 try to do it with 1:20:48 um with Bing is connected to the 1:20:50 internet Google is connected to the 1:20:52 internet high is connected to the 1:20:54 internet all three of them because they 1:20:57 have safety guard rails on 1:21:00 them get a little skittery when you're 1:21:02 trying to find specific people like if 1:21:04 you try to get someone's email they're 1:21:06 like yeah we really don't do that so 1:21:09 what you can probably do is you can 1:21:11 probably find clusters of people um you 1:21:16 could probably find names of people that 1:21:19 have certain job titles maybe a a way 1:21:22 that you might use it Daniel is 1:21:28 um once you've identified 1:21:31 people take the information from their 1:21:33 LinkedIn profile and do personalized 1:21:36 Outreach emails to them right so you 1:21:38 could you could you can maybe do it on 1:21:40 the tail end of of you know the sourcing 1:21:43 of those people on the communication 1:21:45 side but but right now not now the fact 1:21:49 that we've got llama 2 is out there you 1:21:52 know meta's llama 2 1:21:55 models because those are all open- 1:21:57 sourced there are likely businesses 1:22:00 being built right now on the open- 1:22:02 source stuff that are not going to have 1:22:04 the safety guard rails right so there 1:22:07 are likely businesses being built right 1:22:09 now that probably do the kind of um 1:22:12 sourcing that you're looking for 1:22:15 um but they're going to be they're 1:22:17 they're probably going to be a little 1:22:19 sketchy just because of the nature of 1:22:21 you know here's the thing where you can 1:22:23 find all the details of a person without 1:22:25 them knowing 1:22:26 it um that's a little creepy there's 1:22:29 already tools out there that do that i 1:22:30 get it most of them suck most of them 1:22:32 are outdated these AI ones aren't going 1:22:34 to suck and aren't going to be outdated 1:22:37 so you know I would go troll around 1:22:39 Reddit and I would go to tools like 1:22:42 future 1:22:52 pedia.com 1:22:53 here in my lifetime I know same here JP 1:22:57 same thing I'm almost positive we end up 1:23:00 with a world where instead of a website 1:23:02 you 1:23:03 provide knowledge about a knowledge 1:23:07 base about your company to the worldwide 1:23:11 llm I I I think you're right rich and 1:23:14 and I think like what what it looks like 1:23:16 for me is it it's we we end up in a in a 1:23:20 hyper personalized world right where 1:23:25 anything I want anything I want I need a 1:23:28 solution to this problem I need a recipe 1:23:29 I need an image I need a PowerPoint 1:23:31 presentation I need a movie I need a 1:23:33 song I Need a playlist I need a playlist 1:23:36 of original songs for the trip I'm about 1:23:39 to take I don't like that I want it to 1:23:40 be different songs 1:23:43 boom we we instantly have 1:23:49 it if chat GPT becomes that app right 1:23:52 right it's the everything everything app 1:23:54 if it becomes the everything 1:23:58 app why do you need other 1:24:04 software and if if you go to that place 1:24:07 then you're like well holy [ __ ] then 1:24:09 what what do businesses do what do these 1:24:11 software companies do what do businesses 1:24:12 do what do consultants do I don't 1:24:14 [ __ ] 1:24:17 know is anyone else continuously mind 1:24:19 blown that we're here talking about this 1:24:21 JP honest to God every single every like 1:24:26 if come here start hanging out here I'm 1:24:29 here every night start hanging out here 1:24:32 every night my mind is blown it like I 1:24:35 feel like a fair amount of the time on 1:24:36 this channel I spend going I I don't 1:24:40 know what to 1:24:41 say I don't know how to process 1:24:45 this I mean I mean chat GPT right now 1:24:48 going multi multimodal it's so funny 1:24:50 like when when Sam Alman was talking 1:24:53 about it like a year ago he was like you 1:24:55 know it's it's it's these different 1:24:56 things now and then at some point 1:24:59 someone asked him about prompt 1:25:00 engineering I think and he said well you 1:25:02 know I mean yeah you need to know 1:25:04 prompting right now but you're you're 1:25:05 not going to need to for long I was like 1:25:08 I don't I don't get what that means and 1:25:10 then here it is like you're just having 1:25:13 a conversation in cat jpt and you're 1:25:14 like yeah can I see that 1:25:17 sure here it 1:25:19 is Kyle can you pause when alelo calls 1:25:23 me during your 1:25:25 life thanks absolutely Amelio's wife you 1:25:29 let me know when you you got to go we 1:25:31 will just we'll stop it dead in the 1:25:33 tracks I'll just I'll just go get a uh 1:25:35 I'll go give champy a treat or 1:25:37 something you got it I've been hanging 1:25:40 out and it's mind-blowing and exciting 1:25:42 Jesse from Austin yeah it is I I 1:25:47 mean here's the other thing there's 1:25:49 there's so much angst and anxiety about 1:25:52 this and I I understand it I mean it's 1:25:54 this this it's intense stuff 1:25:59 um and if you sit on the outside and 1:26:03 just kind 1:26:05 of imagine how bad it can be it's it 1:26:09 it's really [ __ ] 1:26:10 awful but if you go ah [ __ ] it let's 1:26:13 just play with it let's just make it a 1:26:17 game I was talking to Leah who's the the 1:26:20 woman I co-founded the AI Salon with I 1:26:21 was talking to her 1:26:23 was it today yeah I think it was earlier 1:26:27 today and I was telling her about the 1:26:31 the these lives and how entertaining 1:26:35 it's been like like that image I didn't 1:26:37 make that image someone in here made 1:26:39 that image we were talking about 1:26:40 something we were joking about you know 1:26:42 you could make 1:26:44 money and and it might have been 1:26:47 lunatick that did it 1:26:50 or someone else did it jrc did I don't 1:26:53 know some someone in here a regular in 1:26:55 here made that image and then you know 1:26:56 other people someone else made that 1:26:58 image right and someone else made that 1:27:01 image that's a beautiful image I love 1:27:02 that image 1:27:04 um and what I was talking with Leah 1:27:06 about is that even though we're learning 1:27:10 these tools that we're going to be 1:27:12 working with right and and we are like 1:27:15 it's the AI learning lab this is like 1:27:17 we're 1:27:17 learning but I tried to do it in an 1:27:21 entertaining way but something started 1:27:22 happen in like the past month or so now 1:27:25 that we have a fair amount of people 1:27:27 from this channel in the Discord channel 1:27:29 for the AI 1:27:30 Salon as we talk in here people are 1:27:34 making stuff and sharing it in there and 1:27:35 it's this really Dynamic thing where 1:27:38 we're using these work tools as 1:27:42 entertainment and it and it hit me 1:27:47 that these things are giving us 1:27:51 gratification in the exact same way that 1:27:54 video games do and when I said that Leah 1:27:57 said um the gamification of 1:28:01 productivity and I was like oh [ __ ] 1:28:03 that's what it is that's what so the the 1:28:06 joy that I have with this stuff and the 1:28:08 joy that I think is is kind of naturally 1:28:11 emerging out of this janky ass 1:28:14 channel is is that this is like a video 1:28:18 game this is we're like we're in a 1:28:21 science fiction movie where you can just 1:28:22 talk to the thing and it goes pring 1:28:24 here's a pretty picture pring here's a 1:28:27 pretty song pring here's your python 1:28:30 code to go make your 1:28:32 thing and yeah it's like I've been I 1:28:35 started this channel I'm coming up on a 1:28:37 year I started it last 1:28:39 December and and it's it's I I still am 1:28:43 daily like holy 1:28:46 [ __ ] look where we are look how [ __ ] 1:28:50 lucky we are do like take in how lucky 1:28:53 we 1:28:55 are and and you know like the dude that 1:28:59 that you know sort of trolled in and out 1:29:00 of here he's going to sit on the 1:29:02 sidelines and he's going to be 1:29:05 bitter and he's going to get slapped 1:29:07 upside the 1:29:10 head not by people well maybe if he's a 1:29:12 jerk 1:29:15 but he's probably a sweetie pie in 1:29:17 person he probably just needs a hug he's 1:29:19 probably 1:29:20 afraid right he's probably in fear 1:29:23 here and I get that like I have I have 1:29:25 deep empathy for that cuz this is 1:29:28 existential 1:29:33 [ __ ] if you personally get your value 1:29:36 like your personal you know the 1:29:39 Deep what I'm good at what I contribute 1:29:42 if you get your 1:29:43 value out of making 1:29:47 art and then you see these 1:29:51 tools 1:29:53 that's [ __ ] 1:29:56 terrifying right and I think everyone in 1:29:59 here has gone through some version of 1:30:01 that oh 1:30:05 [ __ ] what does this 1:30:09 mean this is not an exit oh nice thank 1:30:13 you for the 1:30:14 Hat I'm sorry Dave I'm afraid I can't do 1:30:16 that 1:30:21 exactly 1:30:23 my question was get one of 1:30:26 those only a genius can solve this 1:30:30 memes all over Facebook and post it to 1:30:35 GPT oh yeah there's I think there's 1:30:37 people doing that right now Bob there's 1:30:39 people doing that it's like 1:30:42 yeah I 1:30:45 mean 1:30:47 we're so go watch here I'm going to I'm 1:30:50 going to I'm going to show something 1:30:54 um one of the people that I recommend 1:30:58 watching is this dude David Shapiro this 1:31:03 guy so on YouTube he's at 4ir that 1:31:07 stands for fourth industrial revolution. 1:31:09 david. Shapiro go follow him and let me 1:31:13 show you a video that he put out 1:31:18 yesterday 1:31:20 um I'm not going to the whole thing but 1:31:22 I'll I just want to show it to you so 1:31:24 you can see the title of it like write 1:31:25 this 1:31:27 down 1:31:34 uh 1:31:36 this models that are trained with 1:31:39 as brace for impact go watch that video 1:31:44 so let me just let me just I'll just 1:31:45 play the beginning of this it seems like 1:31:47 it's a foregone conclusion that we will 1:31:49 have AGI within the next year or at 1:31:51 least really Advanced AI plus robotics 1:31:55 whether or not you define it as AGI it 1:31:57 is time to start preparing and adapting 1:32:00 so today we will go over how businesses 1:32:03 governments and individuals can prepare 1:32:05 for so go go watch that video he he's um 1:32:09 he puts out like two of these videos a 1:32:11 week like I don't like I know I put a 1:32:13 lot of time into this but I think the 1:32:15 dude's doing like 12 hours 12 hours a 1:32:18 day on this stuff but that video in 1:32:20 particular he talks about you know he 1:32:23 predicted 18 months ago that we'd have 1:32:25 AGI within 18 months and now he thinks 1:32:27 that it's going to happen within 12 and 1:32:30 and what he talks about there is however 1:32:32 you define AGI we're going to have some 1:32:34 version of it within 12 months and and 1:32:38 basically that means like it can just do 1:32:41 [ __ ] right it can do [ __ ] on our behalf 1:32:43 and it can do it really well and it's 1:32:46 like a 36 minute video and he just walks 1:32:48 you through all the scenarios and what 1:32:49 the implications are and things like 1:32:51 that 1:32:53 um and and we're just going to that 1:32:58 like we do not have 3 to five years to 1:33:02 think 1:33:03 about how are we going to deal with it 1:33:06 when AI changes 1:33:11 everything now listen he might be super 1:33:14 overly optimistic right he's written 1:33:16 five books on this stuff and he's got an 1:33:18 open source cognitive architecture so 1:33:20 the guy knows his [ __ ] 1:33:24 um so even if he's two years off if 1:33:28 we're three years away from AGI which I 1:33:31 think we're closer than 1:33:32 that just go play with chat GPT what 1:33:36 what it's doing right now and just know 1:33:39 there [ __ ] Sam Alman has said they have 1:33:41 built [ __ ] that they will never release 1:33:44 like the stuff that they're playing with 1:33:45 inside the hut has got to be if you if 1:33:49 if if we're this mind blown on a daily 1:33:52 basis a year into this [ __ ] can you 1:33:55 imagine being inside the the the walls 1:33:59 there and at 1:34:01 Google and at 1:34:03 meta cuz they've all spun these projects 1:34:06 back up that they had mothballed open AI 1:34:09 saw of that chat jpt is the thing that 1:34:12 blew the dam open on this so they're 1:34:15 spinning all this technology back up and 1:34:18 it's remarkable and it's you know it's 1:34:20 it's going to start one of the things 1:34:22 David talks about in this 1:34:23 video 1:34:25 is the models are going to start 1:34:29 training themselves so they're going to 1:34:31 get better and better 1:34:34 exponentially so like I it's like I 1:34:36 can't even I can't even [ __ ] I can't 1:34:40 even get my head 1:34:42 around the change of what chat gppt was 1:34:46 a month ago versus what it is 1:34:48 today imagine if it's fully autonomous 1:34:51 all of those features are integrated now 1:34:53 it's doing video now it's doing 1:34:58 music it it just writes and debugs 1:35:02 applications 1:35:05 dynamically integrates everything into 1:35:08 beautiful mobile 1:35:10 friendly websites no matter where the 1:35:13 data is coming 1:35:14 from we're not that far 1:35:17 off I overthink Tik Tok I'm convinced 1:35:20 people leave out crucial information 1:35:22 just so people comment they 1:35:28 might yeah JPC definitely keep coming 1:35:31 back come hang out with us it's it's a 1:35:33 really cool bunch in here there's a 1:35:34 there's a 1:35:37 um there's a cool thing starting to 1:35:40 happen in here which is 1:35:43 um it went from it went from a you 1:35:48 know like a thing where I I would answer 1:35:51 like people would come in and they would 1:35:52 have questions and I would answer their 1:35:53 questions and it's really becoming much 1:35:55 more of a of a community where people 1:35:58 are sharing um here's what I'm doing at 1:36:01 work and here's what happened and and 1:36:03 now we've got this sort of extension 1:36:05 over to the AI salon and so we're 1:36:07 forming relationships over there and I I 1:36:09 just had um one of the people from in 1:36:13 here is now an organizer in the salon 1:36:15 and she was at the organizers meeting 1:36:17 today and it's like so all these World 1:36:19 worlds are converging so I don't think 1:36:21 the people in power will allow 1:36:23 everything to be run by AI 1:36:26 um I I would agree with 1:36:29 that 1:36:32 although that kind of presumes that the 1:36:34 people in 1:36:36 power understand what Wi-Fi 1:36:42 is I mean they don't even [ __ ] 1:36:44 understand what Wi-Fi 1:36:46 is I mean I think it's very very 1:36:49 possible that entire industry Ries are 1:36:52 going to be 1:36:53 upended before those Industries know 1:36:56 what happened to 1:36:58 them and and and a weird thing happens 1:37:01 then which is power dynamics 1:37:04 shift so we could be in a situation 1:37:06 where three years from now the centers 1:37:08 of Power are in a completely different 1:37:11 place 1:37:12 that no one no one is prepared for right 1:37:15 so those currently in power will will 1:37:19 not go down easy they'll they'll go down 1:37:21 s in so they're going to take some 1:37:23 people with them and those newly Empower 1:37:26 won't know what to do with it or how to 1:37:27 deal with it and some will [ __ ] that up 1:37:29 and just you know get maniacal and then 1:37:32 others will just flame out I I don't 1:37:37 know I mean I think meta releasing the 1:37:40 Llama 1:37:44 models I think it kind of changes the 1:37:47 dynamic 1:37:50 because 1:37:54 you know maybe what meta does at you 1:37:56 know if if if meta's playing around with 1:37:58 models that 1:37:59 are multimodal and can reason and can 1:38:03 take action like open AI is working on 1:38:05 like Google's working 1:38:07 on if meta keeps those behind their 1:38:09 doors if they're like okay you can go 1:38:11 play with the large language models like 1:38:12 we we'll we'll give you some of those 1:38:13 toys but we're going to keep the really 1:38:15 powerful [ __ ] in the walls if if you end 1:38:17 up with apple meta Google open AI 1:38:23 Microsoft and X let's let's call those 1:38:26 five and and then you you maybe have you 1:38:28 know inflection you maybe have 1:38:31 um um the Claude the uh whatever the 1:38:36 [ __ ] the company is behind Claud so so 1:38:38 maybe you have seven major companies so 1:38:41 if the really powerful models stay 1:38:44 within those seven 1:38:46 companies then I could see a situation 1:38:48 where those seven consolidate into three 1:38:51 and the government can control 1:38:54 those but I just have a sneaking 1:38:57 suspicion that because meta open sourced 1:39:00 what they did the development Community 1:39:03 right now knows how all this [ __ ] is 1:39:05 made as well and they're going to start 1:39:07 they're going to start building their 1:39:09 own Frontier models that are going to be 1:39:11 out in the world and open sourced and 1:39:14 and so I don't know that the centers of 1:39:17 Power are going to be able to stop it 1:39:19 what are what are what what are llama 1:39:20 models so so Jesse from Austin so um let 1:39:23 me go show 1:39:31 you so right now the big four you've got 1:39:36 open Ai and then on the bottom being 1:39:38 that's Microsoft so Microsoft invests 1:39:40 1010 billion into these guys and so you 1:39:44 got those two you got Google which has 1:39:46 got more money than you know anyone 1:39:48 right and and they invented this [ __ ] so 1:39:51 they're Gemini Gemini model they're 1:39:53 about to come out with is supposed to be 1:39:54 really really good then you've got um 1:39:57 Claude and um they just got a $4 billion 1:40:02 investment from Amazon so so all of 1:40:04 these are like major major players then 1:40:07 you've got um inflection which is uh pi. 1:40:11 they're setting out to make the world's 1:40:13 best personal assistant they raised 1.3 1:40:16 billion so they're likely going to be a 1:40:19 major player with a Frontier Model and 1:40:21 then you've got meta so I've got 1:40:22 perplexity here perplexity is not behind 1:40:25 meta you've got meta 1:40:28 Facebook 1:40:30 that when when it became clear that 1:40:33 nobody gave a [ __ ] about the metaverse 1:40:35 as they had presented it and everyone 1:40:37 was going in on AI meta was very far 1:40:41 behind so what meta did was they said 1:40:43 hey here's this this model called llama 1:40:46 which was pretty good and they just 1:40:48 released it as a development um model so 1:40:52 they open- sourced it for research so 1:40:55 you couldn't build a commercial 1:40:57 application on it and then about two 1:41:00 months ago meta released llama 2 llama 1:41:05 thank you very much for the Llama llamas 1:41:08 are so tasty llama 1:41:12 um um and they released them with a 1:41:15 commercial license so they released a 7 1:41:18 billion a 13 billion um and a 70 billion 1:41:21 parameter model and then they released 1:41:23 this thing called code llama which was 1:41:25 trained on 1:41:27 programming open source for free with 1:41:32 commercial 1:41:33 license and they're they're apparently 1:41:36 working on a really incredible AI like 1:41:41 they they all say they are right no no 1:41:42 one's really come close to chat gp4 yet 1:41:45 apparently Google Google is their Gemini 1:41:48 is supposed to be as good or better I 1:41:50 would imagine that meta has a similar 1:41:52 kind of thing they're cooking my my 1:41:54 suspicion is they released llama to get 1:41:57 the developer 1:41:58 Community um developing for their 1:42:01 technology and that they'll keep some 1:42:03 more powerful model behind their wall 1:42:05 and charge for that that's my guess but 1:42:07 I don't know I'm just totally 1:42:10 speculating so so basically it's 1:42:12 Facebook's large language models they 1:42:14 just gave away like with all the keys to 1:42:18 the car like how you run like like the 1:42:20 Llama models don't have any safety guard 1:42:22 rails on 1:42:23 them like you can install the Llama 1:42:25 model right now and ask it to do all the 1:42:28 nefarious [ __ ] that these other models 1:42:31 have safety guard rails for you can just 1:42:33 go build crazy ass stuff with the Llama 1:42:36 models so when does Black Rock buy it 1:42:39 all well that's kind of what I'm saying 1:42:41 is that I think that I think that 1:42:44 there's I I think if if it plays out 1:42:46 where like there's seven main companies 1:42:48 that have the real technology I think 1:42:52 those consolidate down to three and 1:42:53 that's black rock you know having an 1:42:55 interest in one or more of them and just 1:42:57 buying up the others right and so you 1:43:00 end up with kind of three major players 1:43:01 like you always 1:43:03 do and if that's the case then you can 1:43:05 probably have centers of power like 1:43:07 Black Rock and the government start to 1:43:10 control it but I'm wondering if the 1:43:13 horse is already out of the barn that 1:43:15 that I don't like this is way beyond my 1:43:18 educational and experience uh to 1:43:22 understand I could not figure out what 1:43:24 PO is for I can tell you I downloaded 1:43:27 the app version also Microsoft Bing 1:43:31 equally sucks yeah so let me show you 1:43:34 what PO is I'll go I'll go show you what 1:43:36 PO is um po so so in in 1:43:43 um in uh in AI learning lab vernacular 1:43:47 pose pose at the kids table right so the 1:43:50 the kids these these I'm not sure I 1:43:52 think Pi is going to be a major player 1:43:54 right if they raised $1.3 billion 1:43:57 they're they're out buying I think 1:43:59 22,000 gpus to to do their own 1:44:02 Foundation model I think these guys are 1:44:03 going to be a going concern meta is 1:44:06 obviously going to be a going concern um 1:44:08 po I'm not so sure so PO is from the 1:44:10 company 1:44:11 quar and if you go to PO I can show you 1:44:15 what I I find interesting about it why 1:44:18 it's on the 1:44:20 list 1:44:24 so you've got assistant which is their 1:44:28 model you've got web search which is 1:44:30 kind of like chat GPT connected to the 1:44:32 internet you've got gp4 if I click on 1:44:34 more 1:44:38 here by paying 20 bucks a month you get 1:44:42 access to pose model pose web search gp4 1:44:46 stable diffusion XEL so you can now make 1:44:49 stable diffusion images right in po 1:44:51 Claude instant 100,000 Claude 2 100,000 1:44:55 so just ignore the ship below it so all 1:44:57 of these are large language or image 1:45:00 models that for a single price you get 1:45:02 to play with them so so that's so one 1:45:05 thing is just rather than having to do 1:45:07 multiple subscriptions you're going to 1:45:08 have a single 1:45:10 subscription I'm not I'm not a huge fan 1:45:12 of the interface I think it's a little 1:45:14 play school for me but it's you know 1:45:17 that's an advantage that you can you can 1:45:20 be because it it is super clear that if 1:45:22 I want to do writing stuff gp4 is better 1:45:25 if I want to do large documents you know 1:45:28 Claude 2 100,000 is better um I don't 1:45:30 know why I would use CLA instant 100,000 1:45:32 when I have CLA 2 there maybe it's a 1:45:34 speed thing maybe it's faster um stable 1:45:36 diffusion is a good image generation 1:45:38 tool but now I have that within gp4 so 1:45:41 that doesn't become as compelling so so 1:45:43 one thing is that the other thing are 1:45:45 these things the the models that they 1:45:47 have here or or the Bots that they have 1:45:49 here so they've got all these different 1:45:50 Bots here's the official Bots from from 1:45:52 them from 1:45:54 po right so these are all their Bots 1:45:57 that you can play with and there's here 1:45:59 are the Llama models right so you can 1:46:01 you can go play with the official llama 1:46:03 models here's mistl that's a new one 1:46:05 that just came 1:46:06 out so so you can play with lots of 1:46:09 different stuff here just in a regular 1:46:11 in the same interface which that's kind 1:46:13 of cool but then you have all these 1:46:15 other Bots popular Bots new bots so if I 1:46:19 go up here in the leftand corner I can 1:46:21 explore all the bots so if I click on 1:46:23 explore there's music Bots and role 1:46:26 playing Bots and sports Bots and 1:46:28 programming Bots right and these are all 1:46:30 things that people just made and you can 1:46:32 even make your own bot right so I made a 1:46:35 bunch of bots so you basically just name 1:46:38 it choose a 1:46:41 model where is the 1:46:45 model did they change this no you CH you 1:46:48 here you pick your model so I could do a 1:46:50 chat GPT T4 bot or I could do a llama 1:46:53 bot and then you put in a greeting 1:46:56 message and you put in the 1:46:59 prompt uh where's the prompt up here you 1:47:01 put in the 1:47:03 prompt and so let me see let me go to my 1:47:07 bots where do I have them your 1:47:10 bots so I made a Shakespeare bot I made 1:47:15 a Mary Shelly bot a Christopher walin 1:47:18 bot I made a roast oh I didn't make the 1:47:21 roast master I don't maybe I made the 1:47:23 roast master I think I might have made 1:47:24 the roast master um I made Ricky Bobby I 1:47:29 made 1:47:30 Jay-Z I made Sling Blade I made Emily 1:47:33 Dickinson so let's do we'll do 1:47:35 Shakespeare because it's the most 1:47:36 obvious if I go to the Shakespeare 1:47:38 bot he he starts out the conversation 1:47:41 Hail To Thee I The Phantom Bard of Avon 1:47:44 stand to serve thee well and right at 1:47:46 thy command and I basically have it is 1:47:50 po who we pay pay 20 bucks 1:47:52 to um rock paper scissors you can pay 20 1:47:55 bucks to Poe I would if if if I only had 1:47:59 20 bucks a month to spend I would spend 1:48:00 it on chat GPT I would spend it on chat 1:48:02 GPT plus all day long even though 1:48:05 there's more stuff 1:48:07 here open AI are the ones that invented 1:48:10 this oh they're the ones in charge until 1:48:13 further notice right if Google comes out 1:48:16 and and totally kicks their ass with 1:48:18 Gemini then then we can have a different 1:48:20 convers but right now they're the ones 1:48:22 leading the charge on this stuff and so 1:48:26 yeah all right so anyway so I'll go 1:48:30 um how do you 1:48:36 explain the feeling 1:48:40 when you fall in love question mark and 1:48:44 then Shakespeare responds in I Amic 1:48:47 pentameter when Cupid's arrow find its 1:48:49 Mark within one breasts a wondrous 1:48:52 transformation takes the Soul's behest 1:48:55 the heart doth beat an accelerated 1:48:57 measure and through each sigh the lungs 1:49:00 draw Pleasures treasure Pleasures 1:49:03 treasure that's good that's very 1:49:05 Shakespearean the object of Desire fills 1:49:07 one's every thought all cares and 1:49:09 worries by affle affection thought so um 1:49:13 so this this is what the Bots can do you 1:49:15 can go make one right now and you can 1:49:16 you can send people to your Bots and at 1:49:19 some point they'll turn the into you'll 1:49:21 probably be able to monetize them 1:49:23 they'll be able to do images like you 1:49:26 might be able to do relatively 1:49:27 sophisticated application development 1:49:30 right through po po right now they're 1:49:32 kind of parlor tricks um but as these 1:49:35 models get more and more sophisticated 1:49:37 they're they're they're putting a front 1:49:38 end in front of a lot of different tools 1:49:40 so that's that's what it is and why I 1:49:43 think it's 1:49:46 interesting but again it's at the Kids 1:49:49 Table these are the big guys 1:49:52 those are the big 1:49:54 ones and Bard doesn't deserve to be in 1:49:57 second right now Claude actually 1:49:59 deserves to be in second but I I am I am 1:50:05 pre I have preemptively preemptively 1:50:07 moved Bard into second position 1:50:10 anticipating Gemini if it comes out and 1:50:13 it sucks I'm going to be 1:50:17 pissed uh pie and I aren't in speaking 1:50:20 terms I know Pi Pi I go back and forth 1:50:23 with Pi Pi is sometimes [ __ ] 1:50:25 brilliant and then Pi is other times 1:50:27 like really share bear thank you for the 1:50:31 dangly lights I appreciate 1:50:34 that I appreciate all you people this is 1:50:37 so 1:50:39 uh this Channel's a little humbling 1:50:41 sometimes because it's just cool it's 1:50:43 really it's really cool like I'm I'm as 1:50:46 blown away sometimes by the people here 1:50:48 as I am by the technology um I did did 1:50:50 wait what was that I missed that uh from 1:50:53 I think it was from hair growth geek 1:50:55 hear me out they all start 1:50:57 great uh remember how exciting Android 1:51:00 was today they disabled so much Karen 1:51:03 vigilan so so listen I don't disagree 1:51:06 with 1:51:07 you don't forget though Google has a 92% 1:51:12 market share in search they they Google 1:51:15 has an effective 1:51:17 Monopoly so when 1:51:19 companies have an effective Monopoly 1:51:21 they start acting different thank you 1:51:23 Sherry D I appreciate that um they start 1:51:27 acting 1:51:28 different and so they can do [ __ ] like 1:51:30 they can just shut that [ __ ] down 1:51:32 because they they got so much market 1:51:37 share the the promise of the web from 1:51:39 the early days of the web was it was all 1:51:41 open sourced wait I did a trick aist bot 1:51:45 that I'm integrating into messenger oh 1:51:47 that's super cool I don't know what a 1:51:48 trick alist is but we can find find out 1:51:50 with chat gbt um that's super cool um 1:51:54 did you do that on PO hair growth 1:51:57 geek I'm just curious where you did it 1:52:00 did you do it there or zappier or 1:52:02 wherever um oh how cool is that Ted 1:52:05 looks at life bringing back the Gen XY 1:52:08 wait let me let me Zoom it 1:52:09 in the Nostalgia with TV 1:52:13 Guide God remember how powerful TV Guide 1:52:16 was when there were like four channels 1:52:18 it was this is like the Bible you did it 1:52:20 on PO oh that's super cool and you're 1:52:22 incorporating it into messenger yeah see 1:52:25 I think I think there's something there 1:52:26 with po po and make okay great got it so 1:52:30 make is a make is a is a uh an 1:52:33 automation tool like zappier and then po 1:52:36 so she made a she made a bot on PO that 1:52:40 I guess gives whatever kind of advice a 1:52:42 trick aist 1:52:46 does Trick wait tronus Kyle ask the bot 1:52:51 no I'm going to live in my 1:52:56 ignorance oh wait hair growth geek Po 1:52:59 and make and and many chat and lots of 1:53:02 bourbon perfect how how all AI I should 1:53:06 be made lots of bourbon um can you feed 1:53:09 Claude your own text for a 1:53:14 bot no no 1:53:17 no but well yes wait of course you can 1:53:22 bo b Nukem of course you can 1:53:28 because if I say create 1:53:35 [Music] 1:53:37 bot my base bot if I do Claude 1:53:41 2 if I do Claude 2 as my base bot I now 1:53:45 have a 100,000 1:53:47 token bot so yes 1:53:51 you 1:53:51 can and also anthropic who's the company 1:53:54 behind Claude they have an API right so 1:53:57 you can get in their API 1:54:00 program and so yes you can I'm trying to 1:54:03 learn and understand rock paper scissors 1:54:06 so are we 1:54:08 all so so if it makes you feel any 1:54:11 better like the the the the thing that I 1:54:14 can promise you I can promise promise 1:54:18 promise promise you 1:54:22 there are no experts right now thank you 1:54:24 digital Gods I love me some tasty 1:54:27 lemonade and coffee at night M 1:54:32 [Music] 1:54:34 tasty um there a lot of people right now 1:54:37 acting like 1:54:39 experts and and 1:54:44 um I try to share what I've learned but 1:54:47 what I can promise you is that I haven't 1:54:50 [ __ ] scratch the surface like there's 1:54:52 a running joke in here what are your 1:54:54 qualifications like I have no 1:54:56 qualifications no one has qualifications 1:54:58 right now now does that mean there 1:55:00 aren't experts in machine learning and 1:55:02 AI no there's plenty of those right 1:55:05 there's absolute experts in that like 1:55:07 the people building this [ __ ] they're 1:55:09 [ __ ] 1:55:10 experts where there's no experts is if 1:55:14 you if you sort of plant a flag on 1:55:17 November 30th last year 2022 1:55:20 the day that chat GPT 1:55:23 launched it changed 1:55:26 everything why it's just like a chat box 1:55:30 right what it's not a big deal right 1:55:35 well let's go back in 1:55:37 history in the mid90s the internet had 1:55:41 been around for decades who used it 1:55:43 scientists mathematicians researchers 1:55:48 Librarians why because it was a command 1:55:51 line 1:55:53 interface it was slow you had to dial up 1:55:57 your computers it was all about data 1:55:59 protocols and and and storing 1:56:02 dissertations and papers and 1:56:04 mathematical research and doing 1:56:06 calculations and it and it and then Tim 1:56:09 Tim burners Lee creates the worldwide 1:56:11 web and the internet changes from the 1:56:15 purview of the scientists and the 1:56:16 engineers and the researchers to the 1:56:18 rest of us because Because the Internet 1:56:21 became this easy click click click a 1:56:24 hyperlink click a hyperlink click a 1:56:26 hyperlink oh I'm in Paris o I'm in 1:56:28 Russia ooh I'm in 1:56:31 California changed 1:56:34 everything Ai and machine learning has 1:56:37 been around for 1:56:39 decades largely a purview of 1:56:41 mathematicians scientists 1:56:44 researchers 1:56:48 engineers and chat GPT comes out and 1:56:51 says want a magic box 1:56:55 here now think about how profound the 1:56:59 worldwide web the impact of the 1:57:00 worldwide web has been on the world the 1:57:04 global economy is now fueled by the 1:57:08 internet because of the worldwide 1:57:11 web to get to 100 million users the 1:57:14 worldwide web took 6 Years cuz they had 1:57:17 to build infrastructure we were still on 1:57:20 dialup 1:57:21 modems like like the whole idea that 1:57:23 internet just being there that didn't 1:57:25 exist for a long time so 100 100 million 1:57:29 users six years chat 1:57:33 GPT six 1:57:36 weeks it took six weeks we should have a 1:57:39 birthday party for November 30th we're 1:57:40 going to I'm what I'm thinking Jim is I 1:57:43 think I'm going to do I think I'm going 1:57:44 to do a 24-hour I think I'm going to do 1:57:47 a 24-hour AI live or something like that 1:57:49 or maybe 12 maybe I don't do maybe I'm 1:57:51 not completely 1:57:53 stupid and maybe what we'll do you know 1:57:55 maybe what we'll do Jim is is we'll 1:57:58 we'll do multiple people do I don't know 1:58:00 I we'll figure something out but we 1:58:01 should absolutely do a November 30th 1:58:03 party 1:58:05 absolutely because that's this that's 1:58:07 what this Channel's about is that 1:58:09 inflection point this channel is about 1:58:11 the moment after chat GPT showed up not 1:58:16 before and that's why when people come 1:58:18 in and go well tell me about you know 1:58:19 tensor flow and you know mathematical 1:58:22 theories of 1:58:26 embedding and my response is I don't 1:58:29 [ __ ] know but back to the expertise 1:58:33 thing nobody has a [ __ ] clue I mean 1:58:37 the fact that chat GPT just went 1:58:39 multimodal the fact that it can see the 1:58:42 fact that you can talk to it the fact 1:58:45 that it can talk have you said wait you 1:58:48 watch 1:58:51 I get myself all worked up here yo 1:58:53 weirdos you ask me one simple 1:58:56 question all right so I'm in chat gpt's 1:58:59 app this is the IOS app 1:59:02 okay and one of the things that the IOS 1:59:06 app app has 1:59:08 now are those little headphones see 1:59:12 those and it basically turns chat GPT 1:59:15 just like pie into a 1:59:18 conversational 1:59:20 bot I guess it's it's a conver so I can 1:59:23 now talk to chat 1:59:25 gbt but check this 1:59:36 out I'd like you to help me translate 1:59:39 what I say from English into Portuguese 1:59:42 can you do 1:59:48 that of course I can help with that go 1:59:52 ahead and say what you'd like to have 1:59:54 translated into 1:59:56 Portuguese rubber baby buggy 2:00:05 bumpers the phrase rubber baby buggy 2:00:08 bumpers translates to parz De deasha in 2:00:13 Portuguese it's a tongue twister in 2:00:15 English so the translation may not have 2:00:17 the same effect is there any anything 2:00:19 else you'd like to 2:00:22 translate I'd like you just to respond 2:00:24 in 2:00:25 Japanese no matter what I say don't say 2:00:29 any English just speak in Japanese from 2:00:31 here on 2:00:38 out I'm sorry for any confusion but I 2:00:41 need to maintain the conversation in 2:00:43 English for clarity and understanding is 2:00:46 there something specific you'd like to 2:00:48 know about Japanese language Ang or 2:00:51 culture I want you to translate for me 2:00:54 so I'll say an English sentence and then 2:00:55 you say it in 2:01:00 Japanese ah I see what you 2:01:04 mean sure go ahead and say the English 2:01:07 sentence you'd like me to translate into 2:01:10 Japanese ground control to Major 2:01:18 Tom 2:01:21 the phrase ground control to Major Tom 2:01:24 would be translated into Japanese as 2:01:29 ground anyway it goes on you can you can 2:01:31 you can actually get it to just be a 2:01:33 translator for you and then you can just 2:01:34 switch languages it's amazing so so 2:01:37 someone just asked what add-on is this 2:01:38 that's not an add-on that's the chat GPT 2:01:41 official app now has conversation mode 2:01:44 so chat gbt you can now talk to it it 2:01:48 can talk to you 2:01:50 it because it knows languages you can do 2:01:51 that translation stuff with text but now 2:01:53 you can do it with 2:01:56 conversation you can't put it in 2:01:59 conversation mode while it's connected 2:02:01 to the internet yet so it's not 2:02:03 connected to the internet like Pi is but 2:02:06 Chachi BD can now hear you talk to you 2:02:10 see it's got Vision right with the you 2:02:12 can upload an image and you can also 2:02:15 with the with the official app it's also 2:02:17 got Vision so so so you can now with the 2:02:23 chat GPT 2:02:25 app put it in basically default mode and 2:02:28 turn the turn your camera 2:02:31 on and take a picture of something in 2:02:33 the world and have it explain it to you 2:02:35 it can see right so imagine just for for 2:02:38 blind people alone right you we now have 2:02:41 an everything app that can look at the 2:02:44 world and tell someone what's going 2:02:47 on or for deaf people 2:02:50 explain you 2:02:52 know or or show them you know show them 2:02:55 what it 2:02:57 hears um it can do code if you play with 2:03:02 Advanced um data analysis what you see 2:03:06 is that you give it a goal and it 2:03:09 prompts itself and writes and executes 2:03:12 its own 2:03:16 code anyway all right you have chat GPT 2:03:20 write stories for my kids bedtimes now I 2:03:22 just hav it read oh my God now I just 2:03:26 Haven it read the stories to all of us 2:03:27 it's great that's [ __ ] awesome and at 2:03:31 some point it's going to be able to read 2:03:32 the story and then it'll just pop up an 2:03:34 image as appropriate that it's probably 2:03:37 generating in the background while it's 2:03:39 reading the story can't wait for it to 2:03:41 Ill illustrate stories in real time 2:03:43 that's exactly what we're going to see 2:03:44 Rich that's exactly what we're going to 2:03:47 see we're we're moving so so what you're 2:03:51 experiencing and what you're doing with 2:03:52 your kids it's funny Rich one of the 2:03:54 um um Sam mman the the CEO of open AI he 2:03:59 was interviewed at the zapier conference 2:04:01 like two weeks ago and someone asked him 2:04:03 what's the thing that you're most 2:04:05 surprised 2:04:07 by with how people are using chat GPT 2:04:10 and he said the amount of parents and 2:04:11 kids creating bedtime stories that's the 2:04:15 thing the guy that is the CEO of open 2:04:19 AI that's the thing he's most surprised 2:04:23 by so think about that that you you are 2:04:28 now experiencing what it's like to to 2:04:31 live in a hyper-personalized world 2:04:34 where just it's it's bedtime I want a 2:04:37 story and normally historically like you 2:04:40 know as a parent I want a story like I'm 2:04:43 a writer right and I want a story as a 2:04:46 stressful [ __ ] thing here was the 2:04:48 here's the worst thing thing I ever did 2:04:50 was I made up a really good story one 2:04:52 night and then they wanted one every 2:04:54 [ __ ] night and I couldn't I just 2:04:56 couldn't I 2:04:58 like at some point it just petered out 2:05:01 now it doesn't have to Peter out I want 2:05:03 a story okay what do you want it to be 2:05:04 about the Kraken 2:05:06 okay here's the Kraken one you know make 2:05:10 it seven-year-old appropriate boom 2:05:12 there's your seven-year-old appropriate 2:05:13 Kraken 2:05:15 story just cuckoo it's just cuckoo just 2:05:19 cuckoo cuckoo 2:05:24 cuckoo thank you whoever pins my stuff 2:05:26 in lives I edit the special instructions 2:05:29 to tell it to include lessons oh that's 2:05:31 so 2:05:32 cool for wait for without I I didn't 2:05:36 quite get the rest of that whoever just 2:05:37 pinned that could you just pin it 2:05:41 again so so creating a custom book that 2:05:44 the kid wants to hear and then putting 2:05:46 in the instructions that you want some 2:05:48 of the the 2:05:49 lessons that they're working on that 2:05:52 week that's amazing it's truly 2:05:54 incredible that's 2:05:56 amazing because you you know you can do 2:05:58 that right now you can say explain 2:06:00 quantum physics to me in a nursery rhyme 2:06:03 and it will do that right so why not say 2:06:05 hey here's what the kids's learning this 2:06:07 week tell us a story about turtles and 2:06:10 incorporate that into it's brilliant my 2:06:12 kiddo hands WR hand writes notebooks 2:06:15 full of stories today I showed her how 2:06:17 to take a pick 2:06:19 to text with chat oh that's so cool 2:06:22 River perfect right and just think about 2:06:26 that your 2:06:31 kiddo your kiddos getting to 2:06:35 experience I mean just imagine that kids 2:06:40 today are experiencing as children the 2:06:45 magic of you just ask for it and it and 2:06:50 there it 2:06:53 is like kids that are kind of five and 2:06:57 younger 2:06:58 today will never know a world where 2:07:01 that's not 2:07:03 possible and we're sitting here on this 2:07:07 channel 2:07:08 going 2:07:10 I we we've been we've been watching 2:07:14 Sci-Fi movies all of our 2:07:17 lives that have basically been not 2:07:21 possible and then the internet started 2:07:23 happening and things like the iPhone 2:07:26 started happening and things started 2:07:28 happening where you're like oh that's 2:07:30 kind of like the future right the 2:07:32 tricorder and the you could just talk to 2:07:34 someone from a device in your hand to 2:07:36 someone far far away it's like oh we do 2:07:38 that now and oh these things can do 2:07:40 things and oh these watches can read our 2:07:44 heartbeats right this is all sci-fi [ __ ] 2:07:46 well now we've 2:07:48 got the things that seemed like it was 2:07:51 decades in the 2:07:53 future of you can just ask for it and 2:07:56 there's your 3D world there's your game 2:07:59 there's your solution to the problem 2:08:01 you've been trying to solve for 500 2:08:05 years that's the world we're 2:08:10 entering so we we get to be the 2:08:13 last 2:08:16 Generations that can remember a world 2:08:19 before that wasn't possible 2:08:24 [ __ ] it's 2:08:26 Insanity then she turned them into place 2:08:28 she was so excited changed her 2:08:34 world her kid writes stories now makes 2:08:38 images for them now turns them into 2:08:41 plays and pretty 2:08:44 soon the do thing the thing we play with 2:08:47 where you just you you tell it to write 2:08:49 a story it writes the story you tell it 2:08:51 to make an image there's your image well 2:08:53 pretty soon that's going to be video and 2:08:54 that's going to be music so make me a 2:08:57 narrated story with music and images and 2:08:59 project it on the 2:09:01 wall there it is hey guys can you please 2:09:04 stop I illustrate children's books 2:09:08 sometimes and I'd like to 2:09:11 continue Herod 2:09:16 D it's a good point Herod 2:09:23 yeah I mean What Becomes of that and I 2:09:26 don't know you know listen I don't think 2:09:28 I think because we're getting you know 2:09:30 hyper-personalized books it doesn't mean 2:09:33 that you can't still have a Harry Potter 2:09:37 series where a story ignites the 2:09:39 imagination whether it was written by a 2:09:41 person or written by AI I still think 2:09:43 we're going to have you know media memes 2:09:47 where you've got you know a Billy ish 2:09:49 emerges you know just sort of out of 2:09:51 nowhere into the stratosphere you're 2:09:53 still going to have stories that rise 2:09:56 above the noise and I think I I think 2:09:59 for the most part creative professionals 2:10:01 are going to be the ones that figure out 2:10:03 how to use these tools in ways that 2:10:06 other people can't 2:10:08 imagine and their work is going to rise 2:10:11 above the noise I think that's still 2:10:13 going to absolutely happen but I think 2:10:16 the centers of power Shi I think the 2:10:20 companies that support all that [ __ ] 2:10:22 shift I think everything 2:10:26 shifts 2:10:29 so putting me out of a job you still got 2:10:32 a job Herod you can always hang out here 2:10:35 when this when we turn when we turn the 2:10:37 AI learning lab into a uh a TV 2:10:40 network which is is actually not as far 2:10:44 away as it seems um chat GPT and I wrote 2:10:46 a rap song about an angry middle white 2:10:49 woman it's good there you 2:10:52 go that's 2:10:54 awesome did I do one oh I've got I've 2:10:58 got I I started co-writing a song with 2:11:00 someone who's who's a country artist um 2:11:03 so I can't talk about it but it's a good 2:11:05 one and it involves it involves talking 2:11:07 about AI so it's really 2:11:12 good so as soon as that's written and 2:11:14 I've got a thing we'll put it in there 2:11:16 life at the speed of thought that's 2:11:18 essentially it where's the 2:11:20 bottom yeah what happens in a world 2:11:23 where you can imagine it and there it 2:11:30 is think about just from think about all 2:11:35 the times in your 2:11:37 life where you had an 2:11:40 idea and then you thought I'm not 2:11:43 educated enough I'm not talented enough 2:11:45 I'm 2:11:46 not motivated enough 2:11:49 enough I don't think anyone will like it 2:11:51 like all of the all of 2:11:55 the all of the internal barriers that we 2:11:58 all deal with you know and if there 2:12:01 there's a lot of neuros spicy people on 2:12:03 this channel including 2:12:06 me 2:12:09 um and if you think about those demons 2:12:13 right and everybody's got them it's just 2:12:15 a human condition right cuz we're like 2:12:18 we're story making machines right so 2:12:19 this thing is constantly telling us 2:12:21 stories you're not good enough you're 2:12:23 too good whatever it is it's constantly 2:12:26 doing that but imagine all those times 2:12:27 in your life 2:12:29 where you had that idea and you [ __ ] on 2:12:33 it and you just let it 2:12:35 die what if those ideas didn't die what 2:12:39 if you could think it and go oh that's 2:12:40 interesting I'm not talented enough oh 2:12:42 but the machine 2:12:47 is and then because it's now out in the 2:12:49 world now you're inspired to do the next 2:12:52 idea oh here's another idea I'm not good 2:12:55 enough for that either oh but maybe I am 2:12:56 I just did that one that was pretty good 2:12:58 out it 2:12:59 comes and now all of a sudden you look 2:13:01 at the stuff that you produced out of 2:13:03 your 2:13:05 imagination you didn't execute it but 2:13:07 out of your imagination came this 2:13:11 thing now you look at that and you go I 2:13:13 know what I want to do and you do the 2:13:17 fully realized version of whatever The 2:13:19 Whisper of that idea was and that takes 2:13:22 you an hour instead of 10 2:13:26 years what does that world look like I 2:13:29 think that looks pretty [ __ ] amazing 2:13:31 in fact I 2:13:33 made do I have the slide in here yeah 2:13:37 this 2:13:39 slide I think we are on 2:13:42 the first 2:13:45 step of a pretty tall 2:13:53 staircase into that the great 2:13:57 Renaissance I think we're entering an 2:13:59 age that's going to make the Renaissance 2:14:01 look [ __ ] 2:14:03 quaint there's going to be technological 2:14:06 innovation scientific innovation 2:14:08 creative Innovation it's it's going to 2:14:10 be absolutely [ __ ] 2:14:13 astounding and and River's daughter who 2:14:17 however old she is right now just 2:14:19 experienced taking some piece of writing 2:14:22 and magically transforming that into 2:14:24 this picture and now she transformed it 2:14:26 into a play Imagine 3 years from now 2:14:28 when she's got tools at her disposal she 2:14:30 can literally just go oh here's an idea 2:14:34 boom and out comes all of the music all 2:14:36 of the imagery all of the video all of 2:14:38 the this all of the that and she goes no 2:14:40 I don't like that and she throws it away 2:14:41 and then she does another one and then 2:14:43 that thing [ __ ] takes 2:14:47 off 2:14:49 what is that 2:14:50 world we've never seen anything like 2:14:53 that 2:14:56 ever what if the friction to creative 2:14:59 expression was 2:15:01 gone what if the friction to creative 2:15:06 expression ceased to 2:15:08 exist what would you 2:15:12 express a 2:15:17 lot 2:15:24 right don't you think we'd all be a 2:15:27 little less 2:15:28 bitter gamification of parenting is rad 2:15:32 that's really cool 2:15:34 exactly don't you think we'll all be a 2:15:36 little less bitter if if the [ __ ] that 2:15:39 crushes our soul is 2:15:43 automated and the [ __ ] that feeds our 2:15:45 soul is 2:15:47 Amplified 2:15:50 3 hours on the phone with the insurance 2:15:53 company just trying to get the answer to 2:15:55 a question what if that turned to 2:15:57 zero where your Bot just took care of 2:16:00 that and that three hours of annoyance 2:16:02 in your life just goes zip and it's gone 2:16:05 and instead of that 3 hours of you being 2:16:09 so pissed off that you throw a pizza 2:16:11 across the 2:16:14 room you spent 3 hours doing something 2:16:16 you've always dreamed about doing 2:16:19 doesn't that change the 2:16:21 world in a in a in a in a positive way 2:16:25 don't don't we 2:16:27 have as viable a future where the AI 2:16:31 doesn't suck as we do where it kills us 2:16:36 all Breaking the barriers between idea 2:16:39 and creation zero friction between your 2:16:43 idea and 2:16:46 self-expression what's that world look 2:16:48 like like it looks pretty [ __ ] 2:16:49 amazing I 2:16:52 think she's 16 oh wow I'm trying to 2:16:55 convince her AI is so powerful they 2:16:57 block it at school of course and 2:16:59 downplay it no you're you're in the 2:17:01 right place I'm telling you River just 2:17:04 like and she's 16 so she knows better 2:17:06 than you do I hope you know that that 2:17:08 she's smarter than you and knows better 2:17:09 than you do my 23y olds are still 2:17:11 smarter than me and I can't get them 2:17:14 to you know they they just they make fun 2:17:17 of me that I'm on Tik Tok but I don't 2:17:18 give a [ __ ] it's you know whatever 2:17:22 they'll 2:17:23 see they'll see they're seeing it 2:17:25 actually it's funny you know my friends 2:17:27 are talking about this stuff now are 2:17:31 they funny that but you're doing the 2:17:33 right thing man just like just keep her 2:17:35 in touch with the with the magic keep 2:17:37 her in touch with here here's the thing 2:17:39 that I think is the is the trick anyone 2:17:41 that resist this stuff is it's out of 2:17:43 fear or or 2:17:46 insecurity if you can just keep them in 2:17:48 touch with what's what's relevant about 2:17:50 it for them like what's most important 2:17:53 to her and then just find ways to just 2:17:55 connect her with what her passions are 2:17:59 and just enough of these tools to feed 2:18:00 that passion just a little bit because 2:18:02 it's so it's like it's so instant that 2:18:06 you know like you said she's she takes 2:18:09 this writing turns it into images now 2:18:11 she's turned it into a play then she's 2:18:13 going to you know pal up with some of 2:18:16 her friends to do the 2:18:19 play appreciate your outlook thank you 2:18:21 night out Night Out K N I G HT out I'm 2:18:26 gonna go 9.5 out of 10 on the name I 2:18:28 like it 2:18:30 solid 2:18:40 solid what is this who is this I don't 2:18:47 know 2:18:50 what time is it is it getting to be time 2:18:52 it's getting to be time I have a pretty 2:18:53 good Instinct for 2:18:55 this thank you qf I appreciate that wait 2:18:58 oh [ __ ] it's my birthday Herod D Herod 2:19:02 happy birthday 2:19:04 sir how old are you I'm going to 2:19:09 guess 2:19:13 32 in the 30s maybe late 20s 2:19:21 [Music] 2:19:22 that would be my movie script I wrote in 2:19:24 college and it's sitting on my bookshelf 2:19:26 30 years 2:19:27 later which which 2:19:30 one Marina shei recall 2:19:37 Tech Renaissance 2.0 2:19:41 exactly exactly haha he nailed it 2:19:45 32 2:19:46 boom I know this I know this people 2:19:49 thing I got this people thing no I I 2:19:52 don't [ __ ] figure it out people are 2:19:53 hard people are weird my 16-year-old 2:19:56 nephew was complaining that his debate 2:19:58 partner wasn't interested so I helped 2:20:00 him with a prompt to make chat GPT a 2:20:02 debate coach oh [ __ ] awesome perfect 2:20:06 perfect and now with that Talkie Chat 2:20:08 GPT or with 2:20:10 piie oh pie would be perfect for 2:20:13 that wait let me let me do let me do a 2:20:16 pie thing 2:20:24 hey I want you to help me and train Me 2:20:26 by being my debate 2:20:34 coach oh now that sounds fun I can 2:20:37 definitely be your debate coach giving 2:20:39 you tips on technique and helping you 2:20:41 develop arguments as your coach I'll 2:20:44 give you the facts and figures help you 2:20:47 develop your persuasive speaking skills 2:20:49 and offer constructive feedback on your 2:20:52 performance so what's the topic of the 2:20:54 debate we're working 2:20:57 on the ethical treatment of 2:21:06 sardines haha an obscure and fishy 2:21:09 debate topic I must say all righty as 2:21:11 your debate coach let's break it down on 2:21:13 one hand sardines are one of the most 2:21:17 sustainable and healthy types of fish 2:21:19 and are an important food source for 2:21:21 humans and other animals on the other 2:21:24 hand the way they're caught and process 2:21:26 can be pretty rough on them you could 2:21:28 argue that their treatment should be 2:21:30 improved for both ethical and practical 2:21:33 reasons treating them better may result 2:21:36 in better quality sardines for consumers 2:21:39 and lessen the impact on the 2:21:43 environment nah you convinced me let's 2:21:45 just kill him and put him in a can 2:21:54 hold up hold up let's not jump to any 2:21:56 drastic conclusions here I know we're 2:21:58 just 2:22:00 talking hold up hold 2:22:04 up oh 2:22:10 man 2:22:13 oh I turned 32 tomorrow and I'm here so 2:22:16 you're still kind of cool thank you 2:22:17 Herod I appreciate that yeah us us us 2:22:21 old people us us elderly just in here 2:22:23 trying to figure out The Tick Tock and 2:22:25 talking about isn't that compute isn't 2:22:28 that cute the elderly talking teaching 2:22:30 each other the 2:22:32 [Laughter] 2:22:34 computer I I mean you know I mean I kind 2:22:37 of experienced this with the with the 2:22:39 nft stuff when I was doing blockchain 2:22:40 and nft stuff that that's it's very much 2:22:43 a culture there of um no one really 2:22:47 gives a [ __ ] and and a lot of people are 2:22:48 kind of anonymous Herod you're kind of 2:22:51 anonymous you know it doesn't really 2:22:53 matter how old people are it's just kind 2:22:55 of like if you can hang in the 2:22:57 conversation you're in the conversation 2:23:00 and that's that's absolutely how I feel 2:23:02 about this AI stuff because like I said 2:23:04 there's no 2:23:05 experts um you know herod's figured out 2:23:08 his little corner I figured out my 2:23:10 little corner you know hair growth Geeks 2:23:12 figured out her little corner she's 2:23:13 making the bot like all of us right now 2:23:16 are just taking the stuff we know and 2:23:19 going okay if this tool does this 2:23:22 magical [ __ ] what would I do with that 2:23:24 well I guess I might try this and then 2:23:27 we go experiment with that and then and 2:23:30 and then like what this channel is is 2:23:31 you go oh I tried this and it kind of 2:23:33 worked and you tell someone else and 2:23:35 they're like oh my God that's amazing 2:23:36 I've never even thought of that and then 2:23:39 it's like that's that's what's going on 2:23:41 right now and I think that's what should 2:23:43 be going on right now that should be the 2:23:45 next five years 10 years 2:23:48 that's why this is going to be 2:23:50 Renaissance 2.0 the great 2:23:54 Renaissance 2:23:56 so JPC guy I got to get some sleep night 2:23:59 all thanks for hanging out with us man 2:24:02 um someone asked if whatever idea I was 2:24:05 talking about were my ideas or I read it 2:24:06 somewhere I don't know what I was 2:24:07 talking about but I tend to just ramble 2:24:11 the great Renaissance thing 2:24:13 that's that's what I'm calling it and I 2:24:16 don't know if you noticed that in the 2:24:17 graphic but Renaissance has AI in the 2:24:19 middle of it which I I I always wondered 2:24:22 why there was an i in the in the word 2:24:24 renaissance it always pissed me off but 2:24:25 now I like it CEO of my fortune 25 2:24:28 company said today AI will result in 2:24:30 productivity gains of 40% yep and then 2:24:34 the question I would challenge your CEO 2:24:39 with 40% productivity 2:24:43 gains what does he choose to do with 2:24:46 that 40% 2:24:48 does he cut the staff and pocket the 2:24:53 money does he retain the staff and 2:24:56 upskill them so that that 40% can turn 2:24:58 to 80 or 120 or 2:25:02 300% doeses he find a way to support 2:25:06 other industries that are maybe being 2:25:08 cut out entirely right because part of 2:25:10 that 40% increase is going to be 2:25:12 increase in productivity part of that is 2:25:14 going to be he might not need to spend 2:25:16 money on external vendors for certain 2:25:19 things because now that's 2:25:22 automated 2:25:23 so what does CEOs choose to do with a 2:25:26 40% productivity 2:25:29 gain the cynical in us will say they're 2:25:31 going to [ __ ] pocket the money CU 2:25:33 that's 2:25:34 capitalism welcome to the [ __ ] 2:25:37 Gauntlet Kyle I consider you a good 2:25:39 friend if you wanted to know my name I 2:25:41 may actually tell you that's awesome 2:25:44 Herod I appreciate it I I consider your 2:25:46 friend too it's really cool Herod came 2:25:48 and spoke at the uh at the salon so 2:25:50 herod's story is cool he started out I 2:25:53 forget what you were doing before you're 2:25:54 doing something then he said I want to 2:25:55 be an 2:25:56 engineer and he's a motivated guy and so 2:25:59 he goes I'm going to go back to school 2:26:00 and he went to school and he became a 2:26:02 [ __ ] engineer software engineer and 2:26:05 then and it took him four years whatever 2:26:07 it was and he got a job 2:26:09 and and then he started doing this 2:26:11 generative Ai No he started doing 2:26:13 digital art and then he discovered this 2:26:15 generative AI stuff and he was like oh 2:26:17 [ __ ] this generative AI art is like 2:26:20 really good and really fast and he said 2:26:22 I want to be an artist and in 6 months 2:26:25 he went from being a software engineer 2:26:26 to being a paid AI 2:26:28 artist 6 months complete reinvention 2:26:34 overnight well not overnight over six 2:26:37 months of 2:26:38 nights but relatively overnight didn't 2:26:41 have to go back to 2:26:45 school so so many people are going to 2:26:48 reinvent themselves so many people are 2:26:50 going to reinvent themselves thanks 2:26:53 Jony all 2:26:56 right 24-hour rockathon November 30th is 2:26:59 a good idea yeah I think that'd be 2:27:01 fun I'm gonna have to convince the 2:27:04 misses it's not a stupid [ __ ] idea 2:27:07 honey I'm gonna be on Tik Tok for 24 2:27:09 hours You Are Not Over My Dead 2:27:11 Body kids are going to be like Dad 2:27:14 that's really not a good 2:27:15 idea they don't well they do know me 2:27:17 very well they know that I'm if I'm if I 2:27:19 decide to do it we're doing 2:27:21 [Laughter] 2:27:25 it oh I'll have to we'll have to come up 2:27:28 with some way for like when I take 2:27:30 breaks we'll have to have some activity 2:27:32 and maybe it'll be something like when I 2:27:34 take breaks we'll be there'll be some 2:27:36 sort of activity we've got the mods will 2:27:38 be doing something in here maybe we'll 2:27:40 bring guests up on stage or something 2:27:41 like that we'll be doing something over 2:27:43 in the Discord I don't know we'll come 2:27:45 up with 2:27:46 something 2:27:47 yeah we'll come up with 2:27:49 something what is the best AI program um 2:27:53 the right now the the really the the one 2:27:58 that um chaty 2:28:01 PT there's just no beating around the 2:28:03 bush right like chat GPT right now you 2:28:07 should pay the 20 bucks and I'm not 2:28:09 affiliated with them I don't make any 2:28:11 money if you pay it or not so I don't 2:28:13 give a [ __ ] 2:28:14 but chat. open.com 2:28:20 um just 2:28:22 has they're they're in the lead and what 2:28:25 they're doing 2:28:28 is it's the foundation 2:28:31 for like everyone else is trying to 2:28:33 catch up to them right now and so so 2:28:36 they're kind of Paving the road and so 2:28:39 by paying the 20 bucks a month you get 2:28:41 early access to the [ __ ] that they 2:28:44 do and so that's the one 2:28:49 now Bard the the Google the 2:28:53 goo the goo has this thing called Gemini 2:28:56 which is apparently really [ __ ] good 2:28:58 so it's possible the goo comes out 2:29:00 pretty soon and kicks their butt I think 2:29:03 claw. a is going to get really good too 2:29:06 it's already really good I think it's 2:29:07 going to get really 2:29:11 gooder although claud's anthropic the 2:29:15 company behind Claude they're more 2:29:17 interested in safety than in building 2:29:20 AGI they're more interested in the 2:29:22 safety of these AI tools than they are 2:29:25 about AG pushing AGI open AI their 2:29:29 mission is Agi artificial general 2:29:33 intelligence these these machines being 2:29:35 smarter than humans that's their mission 2:29:39 Google their mission is to maintain 2:29:42 their Monopoly so but they're behind 2:29:44 right now so they're going to they're 2:29:45 they're trying to catch up to those 2:29:48 guys but these three right now are 2:29:51 really really interesting to 2:29:53 watch 2:29:55 so 135 people up in here I know it's 2:29:58 crazy 150 now hey everybody Welcome this 2:30:01 is the AI learning lab I'm I'm like 2:30:03 three hours into this I'm be winding it 2:30:05 down soon cuz my ass is numb and my 2:30:08 voice is my voice is a little crackly I 2:30:11 like the cracklings on my vocal cords 2:30:14 hey champy what are you doing are you 2:30:16 tired you bored 2:30:17 you good he's 2:30:19 [Applause] 2:30:21 good all right let's 2:30:25 see yeah capitalism exactly love your 2:30:29 analogy of the fortune 25 company's for 2:30:31 40% allocation yeah to me that's the big 2:30:34 question is okay if we got 2:30:36 40% if we got 40% increased productivity 2:30:40 are you just going to lay off 40% of 2:30:41 your staff and if you 2:30:43 do Universal basic income better be 2:30:46 [ __ ] close on on the lips of 2:30:48 someone right like the government may 2:30:50 need to step in and go uh yeah this is 2:30:53 not going to work so we're going to take 2:30:54 some of that profit and we're going to 2:30:56 redistribute it but we'll see what 2:30:58 program could I use to make an IP camera 2:31:01 learn when I write a new piece of info 2:31:05 on 2:31:07 paper there's there's a bunch of 2:31:11 um you you're right now you're going to 2:31:14 have to go probably roll your own but 2:31:17 there's there's a bunch of just go under 2:31:18 Reddit and start looking up object 2:31:22 recognition you can you can the the 2:31:24 technology exists today I I've seen a 2:31:27 couple of these projects you can go find 2:31:29 these projects on YouTube where people 2:31:30 are taking webcams and just sticking 2:31:33 them out this one guy this was really 2:31:35 cool he stuck a webcam out his window he 2:31:38 had particularly tough parking in his 2:31:40 neighborhood so so he stuck a webcam out 2:31:44 of his window and basically trained it 2:31:45 to to determine when someone walked up 2:31:48 to a car where they were going to get 2:31:49 get out of a parking space so he could 2:31:51 run down to his car so he built a whole 2:31:55 system that just watched the parking 2:31:56 spots and notified him when one was 2:31:58 about to open up and he'd Run and Jump 2:32:00 in his car so so that this is stuff you 2:32:03 can do 2:32:05 today um I would just go to Reddit and 2:32:08 and go to GitHub and hugging face and 2:32:12 Reddit and just start paying attention 2:32:15 to um object recognition Technologies 2:32:18 and you know camera you know camera 2:32:20 vision stuff it's all out there like 2:32:22 it's it's all open source I I would be 2:32:25 very surprised if 2:32:26 there wasn't even an open- source 2:32:30 project that does specifically what 2:32:32 you're talking about whiteboard when I 2:32:35 write on a whiteboard it just sees it 2:32:36 and does something with it cat GPT 2:32:39 should advise the government at this 2:32:40 point to be honest they have actually I 2:32:42 mean to to to their credit um you know 2:32:46 you know s Sam mman and the CEO of 2:32:49 Google Microsoft and anthropic met with 2:32:52 the vice president about 6 months ago 2:32:54 then a big group of them including Elon 2:32:58 Musk open AI anthropic 2:33:01 inflection um 2:33:04 Microsoft someone else created this 2:33:08 group called The Frontier Model what's 2:33:10 it called 2:33:13 Coalition um Frontier 2:33:19 model 2:33:22 Forum Microsoft anthropic Google and 2:33:25 open AI launch the Frontier Model Forum 2:33:28 so so what that is is the the big 2:33:30 players right the ones the ones that I 2:33:33 have on this list have basically said 2:33:36 that the tech that we have now is strong 2:33:40 enough that it should be 2:33:42 regulated the tech that we're developing 2:33:45 is so strong that it should be licensed 2:33:47 like you license a nuclear power plant 2:33:50 if you're 2:33:51 developing AGI level Tech like our 2:33:55 current Tech the current gp4 as powerful 2:33:58 as it is is not what we're talking about 2:34:01 the next models that are coming are what 2:34:04 we're talking about and what they're 2:34:06 saying is anything that's at that level 2:34:08 should be licensed so that there should 2:34:10 probably be a government entity like the 2:34:12 the you know FAA or the the FTC or 2:34:15 whatever or the you know the the gun One 2:34:19 Food and Drug Administration those kind 2:34:21 of things so there's probably going to 2:34:23 be a a you know a government entity that 2:34:27 that licenses at a certain level 2:34:29 regulates at a certain level and lets 2:34:31 the rest of us play with the crumbs and 2:34:33 that's I'm fine with that so they're 2:34:34 being they're being pretty proactive 2:34:36 about it the cynical people the trolls 2:34:39 say Well they're just doing that because 2:34:40 they want to control the government that 2:34:42 that may be the case you know they they 2:34:44 they want favor favorable treatment but 2:34:46 at the same time um they are talking 2:34:48 about it so I I feel like they're at 2:34:51 least aware of the 2:34:56 [Applause] 2:34:59 [Music] 2:35:01 issue definitely invest in these 2:35:03 computers AI for president 2:35:06 2024 it it's funny you know you joke 2:35:09 about that you know they talk 2:35:11 about if you had an AI like anthropics 2:35:14 model is what's called a constitutional 2:35:16 learning model where they've got 2:35:17 basically a set of rules and imperatives 2:35:20 and all of the claud's answers are 2:35:23 compared against those imperatives like 2:35:25 they're like Do no harm increase 2:35:27 Prosperity [ __ ] like 2:35:29 that you you could see a plausible 2:35:31 future where you've got some sort of 2:35:33 model that's better at governing than 2:35:37 people are cuz people look at what the 2:35:39 [ __ ] going on in Washington right now 2:35:40 with the speaker of the house they can't 2:35:42 they can't [ __ ] get the they like 2:35:45 they they they poured the gas out of the 2:35:47 lawn mower now they can't get it 2:35:48 restarted they can't agree where to put 2:35:50 the gas it's like come on like like is 2:35:55 is is the robot going to do worse than 2:35:56 that it 2:35:58 can't like it's comically bad right now 2:36:01 so what the [ __ ] maybe the robot should 2:36:04 run the thing and we can just sit back 2:36:06 and make our pretty pictures and throw 2:36:08 parties and do plays and sing 2:36:12 songs parking spot brilliant isn't that 2:36:14 great I know it was really good I saw I 2:36:17 watched a YouTube video on it it was 2:36:18 [ __ ] brilliant he just talked about 2:36:20 how he he had to get the camera and he 2:36:22 couldn't certain certain times of day it 2:36:24 made weird reflection so he had to make 2:36:25 like a housing for the camera it was 2:36:27 pretty 2:36:28 funny 2:36:31 uh I love and hate Tik Tok I'm right 2:36:33 there with you Irish Exclusion Act I've 2:36:37 heard of that don't know what it is when 2:36:38 is Ernie GPT 2:36:41 coming isn't regulation just slip 2:36:44 service now that open AI is already 2:36:46 powerful as it is also China I don't 2:36:49 know um I mean I mean regulation's 2:36:52 tricky right 2:36:53 because 2:36:56 if if they over regulate none of the 2:36:59 other countries are going to over 2:37:00 regulate right so you stifle Innovation 2:37:02 so you can't do that but at the same 2:37:04 time you've got this thing that's that's 2:37:06 pretty strong I think I think the the 2:37:08 frontier Forum idea is right that you 2:37:11 that you've got these different strata 2:37:13 of 2:37:14 Technologies kind of 2:37:16 what we have access to right now Sam 2:37:19 alman's basically saying 2:37:21 just you all go innovate don't need to 2:37:25 regulate that at 2:37:27 all if like 2:37:30 inflection you raise a billion dollars 2:37:33 and you're going to go make a 22,000 GP 2:37:36 GPU server Farm to make the foundational 2:37:39 models the frontier models those should 2:37:42 be 2:37:43 regulated and if you're going to make 2:37:44 technology that's so power ful that it 2:37:46 could basically take o over all of the 2:37:49 computers in the world then that should 2:37:51 be licensed right so so only a few 2:37:54 should have access to the super powerful 2:37:56 [ __ ] you should regulate the really 2:37:58 powerful [ __ ] and and the the ones that 2:38:01 own the base models and then the rest of 2:38:03 us should be free to play like I that 2:38:05 that feels right to me at least 2:38:08 conceptually because then you can still 2:38:10 go you know compete against China and 2:38:12 whoever the else is going to make 2:38:15 [ __ ] 2:38:18 [Laughter] 2:38:22 all right listen listen 2:38:24 people I'm 2:38:28 tired it's it's been long there's a lot 2:38:30 of people in here I appreciate yall 2:38:31 thanks for thanks for joining tonight I 2:38:33 hope you had fun 2:38:36 um there's so much going on right now 2:38:39 that the the the the tone of these lives 2:38:42 has changed a little bit because it's 2:38:44 just like 2:38:47 I feel like I'm trying to process in 2:38:49 real time what's happening and I can't I 2:38:52 don't have my head around it right now I 2:38:54 really don't so I I feel like like my 2:38:57 sense of what I've been sharing for the 2:38:59 past two weeks is just I'm kind of 2:39:03 dumbfounded and 2:39:08 so I I don't think it doesn't feel like 2:39:11 it's as much fun or it's as of much 2:39:13 value so I hope it's still of value but 2:39:17 I think it's going to take us all a 2:39:18 while to just figure out the 2:39:20 implications of all this stuff you 2:39:22 know there's been some really good 2:39:24 images going on over in the the 2:39:26 Irregulars Channel look oh that's really 2:39:29 ethically sourced 2:39:32 sardines look so they made Herod they 2:39:35 made Herod a birthday birthday card very 2:39:38 sweet and then they
