64. 13:49legitimate to me than less but whatever I don't I here's the deal if for whatever reason they're not tra trotting

68. 14:32be the year of the deep fake and then at some point someone's going to do a deep fake and it's actually going to cause
69. 14:37some har or damage and then everyone's going to get up in arms oh my God we got to do something about this and then
70. 14:43someone will say if there if only there are a way we could verify if someone's a human or not and then we can get out our world

73. 15:20and it wasn't super clear so uh when I lived in it when when I lived in it there was an option I think it's in
74. 15:32production crypto G what are you talking about are you sure you're in actual chat GPT because there are apps that say on Tik
75. 15:45Tok it it's it's worse than this you can make money with ch um my son had chat GPT create a machine learning course and now he
76. 15:55listens instead of reading oh nice that's awesome um yeah there there's a lot of there's a lot of scammer apps that are saying Sora video
77. 16:07is now available and then you go to it and it's just some shitty app based on Runway or one of the other probably stable video diffusion
78. 16:16but they're calling it Sora and they're putting it on on Tik Tok if if Sora were out everyone would be talking about it
79. 16:22it's not out and it's not gonna it's not going to be I don't think Sora is going to be a big consumer kind of thing right
80. 16:30off the bat because it's apparently going to take some time to generate videos and it's going to be expensive
81. 16:37and they said they're not going to release it until they get it kind of cheap enough to do 20 bucks a month like
82. 16:43Dolly um but we'll see it's but it's not out yet it is not out yet I have a feeling you're you're playing with an

107. 21:35then it it does queries for you and you can you can train it on applications on your desktop so it's kind of kind of
108. 21:43cool and interesting it's it's an interesting class of devices um you know I suspect two or three years from now
109. 21:52we'll figure out what that category actually is right now I don't think we I don't think we have it but but
110. 22:01whatever this is this is why you play in the early days right I had an early Newton I had an early Blackberry I had a
111. 22:08Palm Pilot I don't know if you remember Palm Pilots Palm Pilots were supposed to be like the salvation of of the uh the apple one
112. 22:23so what's a rabbit R1 here I can go show you that um um um it's a walkie-talkie it's pretty much a walkie-talkie let's go we'll go look at

115. 23:09screen and so when you push the button you're basically invoking chat GPT it's got also got a cool rotating uh camera
116. 23:18so when the when you're not using the camera it rotates up vertically so it's for privacy which is super cool as
117. 23:26opposed to our phones which do not do that there it is um and so you you basically just hit the little gray button and say you know you
118. 23:38can ask it about current events or you can ask it to write you a poem or whatever and it just it does uh you know large language model
119. 23:49[ __ ] I think it's it comes pre-connected to perplexity um but one of the cool things you can do is you can say things like
120. 23:57hey send an email email um to Andrew about the play and it will write it and send it and it because it it can be connected to your own
121. 24:09application suite and it they've got these these sort of macros preset up that you can have it do stuff like hey
122. 24:18go find some interesting live music tonight and email that to my my friend group and it will know who your friend
123. 24:26group is and it'll know how to send emails and [ __ ] like that so and then there's you know there's lots of questions like do we
124. 24:32need another device and the reason I'm the the reason I bought one of these it was only 200 bucks which is it's not
125. 24:39cheap but for a device like this uh like the uh the pin the thing from whatever the [ __ ] that company's called the
126. 24:48little pin you put on that was $700 and you need a subscription this is 200 bucks without a subscription and it's
127. 24:55got really slick kind of retro design it looks like a little walkie-talkie so it's cool um the teenage engineering is
128. 25:03the one who did the Industrial design on this and they do music synthesizers the the founder of rabbit um had built a
129. 25:11music synth and so that's that's where the the uh Teenage engineering connection comes in he built he had
130. 25:19built a previous uh device so anyway that's it pretty slick huh perplexity says iOS 18 may include anthr topic yeah

137. 26:50they had talked to open Ai and that they were also talking with Google about Gemini and like oh it's going to have
138. 26:56Google it actually makes more sense to me that they've cut deals with with multiple of the big players and and again what I think this
139. 27:05gives them cover to do is they can just focus on siries actions like what Siri can do on your behalf and let these
140. 27:17thirdparty large language models do all the hallucinating so so from a positioning standpoint what they can say
141. 27:23is we're going to innovate over here where we know it's bu proof and then anything that's like large language
142. 27:31modely go write a poem go go use one of these leading providers right let's see I expected to heavily integrate artificial intelligence
143. 27:42potentially in collaboration with AI firms like yep Cloud 3's Opus model yeah uh enhance various iPhone applications making significant yeah
144. 27:52yeah yeah all right this this makes sense to me th this makes more sense than them picking a single player
145. 27:58so so built into iOS 18 Siri will be better but will still be task oriented right order me a this you know check the
146. 28:10check the weather like the the interactions with the with iOS and then anything that's sort of pure
147. 28:18hallucinogenic large language model [ __ ] let these guys do that and then when Apple introduces their own large
148. 28:28language model [ __ ] then then they'll say Hey you can use all of these but you can also use ours which just destroys
149. 28:35them and in terms of whatever and that'll probably be a year later generally how they work so that makes
150. 28:42sense to me that's pretty cool pretty cool I like it I like it it's a good rumor that's a good rumor solid
151. 28:53solid what is open AI voice engine uh just a rumor at this point I think it was mentioned by Alman and something let's see open uh

153. 29:27assistant nothing will compare to this thing it will make Jarvis Samantha and Hal seem like something from the past a good

160. 30:37GPT right now is that it kind of assumes you know what you're doing with a large language model and most people don't

164. 31:20speech recognition processing voice commands converting text and speech automatic speech and voice recognition

166. 31:36this so the trademark just basically says anything with words and voices is you know covered by voice engine trademark all

180. 34:19direct connection into your house so you have a thing you put on the wall with like a like a handset like you pick up
181. 34:27this thing and you listen in one part and you talk in the other part you hold it like this and it's wired to the wall
182. 34:33so it it never goes buggy it's going to be it's I'm telling you it's magic it's math magic that sounds infinitely buggy yeah
183. 34:45humans that's the funny thing about people going you know uh chbt hallucinates you know what hallucinates right I'm like you know who else

194. 36:51he's open sourcing he's wicked smart he does like once or twice a week he'll do like a big thoughtful presentation on
195. 36:59the future of everything we're dealing with and he kind of analyzes big movements in in the industry he's really good
196. 37:08um who else Rachel Woods on Tik Tok if you're into like sort of integrating AI into businesses she's really into AI Ops AI
197. 37:18operations uh and then the other one who I follow a lot is Ethan mik M o l i c k uh um and he is uh A Wharton business
198. 37:31school Professor he's got a Blog called one useful thing. org um he's worth following and then on Twitter Robert
199. 37:41scoel is good he's he's a San Francisco guy he's been like a he's been like an apple Whisperer for years and years and
200. 37:49years and he's doing a lot with AI right now and he he's just he tends to be up on stuff um so if he's talking about it
201. 37:57generally something's go going on with it and that's like that's that group of people there's there's always lots and
202. 38:10lots of rumors and so if I see like a wacky rumor like you know whatever like this open voice thing I'll go check all
203. 38:19those people and if they're not talking about it generally it's not it's not happening yet if a lot of times I'll
204. 38:25learn stuff from them okay I'm home now when I go to open AI login page introducing Sora creating video from
205. 38:37text yeah but that's that's just the announcement from from a couple of month and a half ago I think um open ai.com
206. 38:50so that's SL Sora but if you just go to regular open AI yeah this is this is just the announcement transforming work in

231. 43:03called custom instructions before they changed that I don't know week or two ago customized GPT yeah they just they just renamed
232. 43:17that 25 25 foot cord was very expensive $20 at service merchandiser exactly that's what I said you had to be kind of
233. 43:25loaded to have the 25 foot cord you know the real rich people had phones in every room that was that was just you know

353. 1:04:30order in order for it to do something you say you know go this many columns over and this many rows up and make that pixel
354. 1:04:42bright right that's how you did computer graphics and your computer programs were human beings telling the computer where
355. 1:04:50to activate [ __ ] and then they got a little more sophisticated and a little more sophisticated but up until this generative AI
356. 1:04:59moment it was just more and more sophisticated versions of tell the computer exactly what you want it to do
357. 1:05:07right which is why Siri and Alexa and all of the the voicemail you know that when you call into companies and they've got those
358. 1:05:17trees push one for this and two for that and four for that and six for that why that's so [ __ ] annoying is that
359. 1:05:24they're trying to brute for wor really complicated um interactions with manual programming well what if what if someone
360. 1:05:36asks for a tangerine when they're supposed to be asking for a health care appointment well then uh we'll we'll
361. 1:05:45program that in if they ask for fruit and here are the 17 fruits they could ask for then here's how you respond to
362. 1:05:52that right and so they just keep manually adding logic trees and they suck because someone's going to ask about tangerines and then
363. 1:06:02once they get tangerin solved someone's going to ask about ponies in in in a conversation they shouldn't ask about and all of a sudden
364. 1:06:11like overnight bang not really overnight but perception wise chat GPT comes along and you can just ask it anything and it's generating stuff
365. 1:06:27right you don't have to give it the logic to tell it what to do you just say here's what I want and it is figuring
366. 1:06:32that out and Devon that someone asked about before is the is the first kind of thing that's made a little bit of
367. 1:06:43noise where you just sort of tell it what you want it to do and it goes and figures everything out and does it for
368. 1:06:50you it's not it's not it's broken like it doesn't work great but that's new like that's new all of this stuff is new

372. 1:07:46scientists what prior to that we as humans discovered 22 ,000 um stable crystals and then when we got computers we discovered another
373. 1:08:0244,000 so I think we had something like 66,000 stable crystals so you know things like you know I I don't know like like the
374. 1:08:11Silicon chips that the chips are built on like that's a stable Crystal and probably Teflon and just Material

443. 1:21:31completion that I can bring in a musician to actually turn them into real songs right they're just right there
444. 1:21:36right now they're just there as sketches but they're pretty good [ __ ] sketches so that's like one teeny tiny little
445. 1:21:46project using today's current technology which is janky as [ __ ] like the Theo the the technology made those
446. 1:21:55songs it just went from being able to make like a one minute long song to a twom minute long song so now you can get
447. 1:22:03more than just a verse and a chorus but you still have to like manually Jank them together and it's not really easy

452. 1:22:43let's do a song called to see the world and chat GPT understands the entire context of the show cuz it's all in there I uploaded it
453. 1:22:53as PD fs and I said Give me lyrics and it popped out lyrics and most of the time the lyrics suck really bad and so I'd sort of fix them a
454. 1:23:04little bit and say do it again do it again do it again and then I'd go over to sunno and i' take the description that
455. 1:23:12chat GPT gave me of the kind of song it should be oh here's another thing that it did I said um based on the themes of
456. 1:23:22this musical what are some other popular musicals that that are thematically related and it gave me five and then I
457. 1:23:32selected out of those dear Evan Hansen um Phantom Phantom of the Opera and rent right cuz I want some of the songs
458. 1:23:45to be like Phantom like really big and soaring I want I want the story telling to be simple like Phantom and then I
459. 1:23:50want it to be kind of have a rock Broadway thing which is like red and so whenever I have it write the lyrics and describe the
460. 1:24:01songs it's in the context of all of that and then I go to sunno and I go make songs and 30 seconds later two
461. 1:24:12songs pop out and I listen to them and I'm like nope nope make them again make them again I change my descriptions a
462. 1:24:17little bit and then when I get one that's close I pop it in there four days take any kind of company you want to
463. 1:24:29start and this is possible right now you can accelerate every aspect of the company from marketing to product to everything right
464. 1:24:42now you have to be like obsessive like I am and I'm like I gotta learn everything I want to learn all these tools and I right so
465. 1:24:52right now I've got a decent I've got a decent vocabulary of what's possible because I do this every night
466. 1:25:00right one of the reasons I do this every night is for you one of the reasons I do this is for me because when you ask
