63. 13:27excited about with AI is that in the end AI will just become a simplica simplification layer for everything, all

99. 21:23calculators is that it's kind of how our brains work. And this is this has been my contention for a long time. People
100. 21:29are like, "Oh, it's a plagiarism machine and it, you know, it steals from other people's work." Well, no, it kind of
101. 21:35works like our brains work. It learns a bunch of abstracts, breaks them into semantic concepts, gets stored in our
102. 21:42gray matter, and then we want when we want to have an idea, it sort of reaches into all those fragments of thoughts and
103. 21:50smashes a bunch of them together to come up with an idea, which is [ __ ] what these things do. So, apparently there's now paper out
104. 21:59on it. Um, it's not all of large language models. It's not across all of the functions that they do, but the the
105. 22:06the speech to text in particular, that whisper thing. Um, it looks like it's very very similar to what we do, which

521. 1:50:09into a um, LLM, and it'll just summarize all the stuff for you. I'm like, copy and paste was so 2023. I'm I'm don't
522. 1:50:19have time for that. But what I thought of was that would make a really good Chrome extension. And so I went over to
523. 1:50:27CHBT like how hard is it to build a Chrome extension? It's like not hard at all. Here's the code. Here's the steps.
524. 1:50:34And I said, okay, well, I know just enough about programming in computers. I don't know how to write code like that
525. 1:50:42in JavaScript and and it's not my vibe. But I didn't have to write a single line of code. GPT wrote all CHBT wrote all of
526. 1:50:51the code for me. Um and then it didn't work. And so I said, "Hey, it didn't work." And I uploaded the error messages
527. 1:50:58and it said, "Oh, well, my mistake. All you need to do is fix this." So I copied and pasted that and it walked me through
528. 1:51:06every step along the way. Amazing. And in just under 4 hours, uh, I will go ahead and share my screen because this is worth sharing. Um,
529. 1:51:19right to terms of service. So, I've got my Chrome extension loaded and it is AI toos analyzer. Before you click accept,
530. 1:51:26let's analyze the terms of service using the power of AI. Hang tight. We're diving into the legal mumbo jumbo. Hey,
531. 1:51:31we're not seeing we're not seeing your screen. We're seeing AI salon and some finder windows. There we go. Yeah, there you go. So,
532. 1:51:41I've got it runs it when you land on a terms of service page, it goes uh up into the right and automatically starts rendering and
533. 1:51:51analyzing. It does take a little bit longer because I'm not actually paying for free server space on render. Um, so
534. 1:51:57they they pause me when nobody's using it, but if you wanted to try to um Oh, hang on. Vicki is saying we're
535. 1:52:07not screen sharing. See, this is what I can't produce and be part of the show at the same time. But that doesn't make

540. 1:52:44this um it is in the uh show and tell under coding. I put the zip file in Google Drive. So all you have to do is
541. 1:52:54download that, unzip it and add it to Google Chrome extensions and it will just work. Brilliant. Um, also someone suggested
542. 1:53:04that I put the bug um the bug up on irregulars for someone else to try to get it to walk. I'm going to do that as well. That's super cool.
543. 1:53:18Um, yeah. So it's it it's basically like vibe coding that it feels like that to me that for for a decently small idea
544. 1:53:27like that somewhere between two and four hours is about the amount of time that if you just go sort of down in that hole
545. 1:53:34and then it it's also the kind of thing a lot of times those vibe coding tools are um oh here let me move this over
546. 1:53:41here so you can see us um a lot of times those vibe coding tools are you know cranking through their cycles you can be
547. 1:53:48doing something else. So you might also want to like dual vibe code. Do it in two different tools and see if you can
548. 1:53:55get it, you know, get it to work in one. And you know, the reason I'm coming up here now is because we're talking about
549. 1:54:00weekend homework and we're talking about, you know, Pete's demystifying AI and uh the uh LOL uh weekend session on
550. 1:54:08Midjourney. I still don't have a full understanding of what I built. Like I I know it works. Yeah. I don't know how it
551. 1:54:17works. like I'm I'm a programmer light. I'm a software architect by trade, but I don't, you know, this is not my like if
552. 1:54:23you told me to go build this, I wouldn't have a clue how to do this. And I built it and I still don't know how it works.
553. 1:54:30Like it's very blackbox is my point. And so, you know, for anybody who's intimidated by the idea of like, I don't
554. 1:54:36know how to code. I've never written code. I don't know what a Flask server is. I don't know what GitHub does. You
555. 1:54:42almost don't need to know. Like I I get in my car and I turn the key in the ignition and some internal combustion
556. 1:54:49stuff happens or in my EV some battery circuitry stuff happens. Yeah. And it just drives and I just know I have to
557. 1:54:57put it in drive and then it I step on the gas and it goes. We're almost at the point with programming now with little
558. 1:55:03spin-up projects like this where you just don't need to know and it it is coming out of your head into the
559. 1:55:10program. Yep. And so I would encourage you to go play. Yeah, I I would agree. Um, of of all of the vibe coding things,
560. 1:55:18Lovable is the one that's the most um sort of friendly, but it only does web apps. If you want to do things like
561. 1:55:25browser extensions or actual code, then you know, Replet or you know, cursor or bolt. There's a bunch of them out there.
562. 1:55:32But I would encourage you to play with it as it's almost like you're not you know not just even if you're not
563. 1:55:39technical it's almost like you should try vibe coding especially if you're not technical is kind of where I feel it is
564. 1:55:46today like it's like why not like go see how far you can get worst that can happen is you make a crappy app that
565. 1:55:52doesn't work right and and more than likely you'll make something that actually works and you'll kind of blow
566. 1:55:58yourself away so yeah and I saw Pate earlier was saying that his uh son was doing uh construction vehicles made of peanut
567. 1:56:06butters in in image journey or imaging. So, you know, it's just the sometimes you just have an idea and run with it
