5. 0:45um that's why I'm here is to kind of demystify uh AI I appreciate you taking the time to talk to us I appreciate that
6. 0:53you appreciate it because you know sometimes what it feels like is I'm sitting in an office talking to a phone
7. 1:00because I'm sitting in an office talking to a phone um but yeah if you have questions about AI uh just just pop them in the chat I
8. 1:09do appreciate the the kind words um let's see I I played with some uh what do you call it I played with uh
9. 1:20the new beta version of oh thank you I appreciate that I'm not talking to myself um I played with the beta version of
10. 1:30Photoshop that's got this new generative fill thing in it and it's pretty remarkable I wonder I don't have anything on this computer
11. 1:39but I wonder if I did I email it to someone oh no I posted it on LinkedIn let me show you um
12. 1:53things Denver um I gave a speech at creative mornings last month and they just put together this really nicely edited video
13. 2:02of me talking about comparing the the birth of the world wide web with the birth of chat gbt and and putting those
14. 2:10things together so if you uh if you go to LinkedIn Dave momper is the guy that's the host of the Denver group and if you look him up or just
15. 2:20look up uh creative mornings Denver you'll probably see a video in there that's me giving a speech about a month
16. 2:27ago on this stuff but anyway check out and this cool thing so the the little image on the left is the original Genesis image from
17. 2:44um from Kyle Shannon dreams my art project and then the image on the right with like all of that expansive stuff that
18. 2:53was all generated using Photoshop generative AI so you basically put a big border around the small image and you
19. 3:02just start describing what you want in the background so I put like you know dystopian Smoke Stack and you know dystopian City and
20. 3:11um I I put a thing for the little ID tag on his chest and things like that so I played with that today that was pretty cool so um like
21. 3:21what struck me about the generative AI being so seamlessly incorporated into Photoshop is that these tools are
22. 3:34literally going to be everywhere yeah Isn't that cool Emilio's um it's um it yeah they're just going to become
23. 3:43ubiquitous like right now it it feels like chat GPT is this thing off to the side and that's all anyone's talking
24. 3:49about in fact that's the URL for chat gbt if you're new to um generative Ai and you haven't played with chat gbt
25. 3:57um that's I what I've been talking about lately is just go there I don't get paid this is just the official chat GPT site
26. 4:04uh futurepedia.io below it is uh just a list of a bunch of different AI tools that'll make your head explode but
27. 4:12Chachi PT just go start playing with it if you haven't um yeah no I know Emilio's wife I I didn't say the wife before so anyway I
28. 4:21do appreciate you being here and um but anyway the the the uh the thing that struck me today is just how ubiquitous
29. 4:29this stuff's gonna be so any work that you do right now getting curious educating yourself figuring out how to
30. 4:36make an image or figuring out how to um um you know do something with chat GPT um is is it's going to pay dividends because
31. 4:46um because everyone's gonna have to figure this stuff out because it's just going to be everywhere um so if you have questions about
32. 4:52generative AI pop them in there um I uh I have set a goal of 13 subscribers I have four so subscribe to my Lives why

35. 5:17um I showed you how I made that image um that image there using the the generative tool in Photoshop so that's pretty cool

39. 5:56it do it on weekends actually one of one of the the big moments I had with chat CPT I was sitting watching TV and I was
40. 6:03just kind of absolutely minded absent-mindedly playing with chat EBT and the whatever the TV show was boring the crap out of me and um
41. 6:13and I just I said oh write me some code and then I said oh make it do this oh teach me how to use this like I didn't
42. 6:20know how to run the code um and uh within 90 minutes I'd written a significant python application so even
43. 6:28just in your spare time Emilio's wife um you know start playing with it but then yeah if you can dive deep dive deep
44. 6:35um Vegas magic guy you need help I need help too we all need help but uh put it put in a specific question I'll do what
45. 6:42I can if I can't help you I will tell you that too I I try not to mansplain stuff like Chachi BT does my shirt is
46. 6:50almost impossible to read this text again so I'll probably be doing this so I can read it how can chat GPT make me money online I
47. 6:58don't want to be a grunt working for a boss I think that well so I I would lose the lose the goal of making money with chat GPT the if if
48. 7:09do not be seduced by any of the videos that are like you can make money Thai don't listen to those people
49. 7:18they're charlatans and they're full of [ __ ] they're probably trying to sell you a course on on a product that's only
50. 7:24existed for five or six months right so there are no experts in this right now this is this is all um this is new to everyone and things
51. 7:32are changing incredibly fast that said um what I would say is this I would say either take what you're passionate about
52. 7:38or take what you're good at and start leaning into chat GPT to be a think of it like a collaborative partner
53. 7:47with you to do that stuff so if you have an idea to start a local business have it teach you how to start a local
54. 7:55business how to Market it how to run it how to think about your customers all that sort of stuff if um if you have a dream of being a writer
55. 8:05have it teach you to write have it you know collaborate with it to help you create an outline I would say just start using it
56. 8:12the trick to making money with any technology and really with anything is is the tech is irrelevant so chat GPT is irrelevant in terms of um
57. 8:25your ability to make money what is relevant is are you solving a problem that someone else or some group of people
58. 8:34once solved bad enough that they're willing to pay you for it and if you do that then you make money
59. 8:40the nice thing about chat gbt is you can experiment very very quickly um and you can try 10 different things and so so so
60. 8:49here's a here's a I put out a thing um somewhere buried in my Tick Tock channels is this video called the 2023
61. 8:56smart Challenge and so so for this is who's the I think your your name is hi um that's wanting to not be a grunt
62. 9:06working for a boss and uh and uh and wants to know how to make money so here's the 2023 smart challenge there's there's three things in the
63. 9:15challenge the first one is do two projects using chat GPT so one is for you personally and one is for someone
64. 9:23else so the one for you personally might be make a meal plan create a fitness plan um write a song write a poem whatever it
65. 9:31might be do something for yourself personally but think of something that you want to do that that you've been
66. 9:35thinking about that you want to do and use chat GPT as your partner to do that the second thing is um do a project for
67. 9:42someone else so it might be a community group it might be your family it might even be work where maybe work needs a marketing plan maybe
68. 9:50um the boss doesn't know how to how to have a difficult conversation and you could help them and say Hey listen I'm
69. 9:56experimenting with this chat gbt thing can I can I take a a shot at helping you out here sure why not like what's What's
70. 10:03it gonna hurt them right um and in doing that and having a specific Focus you'll actually get really good of it so that's leg one of
71. 10:10this three-step challenge leg two is make ten images using um an image generation piece of software and the easiest cheapest freest one is
72. 10:22bing.com create so if I go here and I'll jump over to bing.com slash create I think this is still right yep
73. 10:36um so this is the dollar and and why do I why do I say that well you might make these 10 images for your project so
74. 10:42maybe your project is a kids book and and you're going to use these images to put into the kids book
75. 10:48um so it might they might be related but they might not but I think everyone should experience the absolute magic of typing in some
76. 10:57words of something you kind of have in your head and then having it materialize in front of your eyes it's it's truly
77. 11:04magical so that's the second leg of the 2023 Challenge and the Third Leg of the stool is um tell people what you're learning talk about it
78. 11:14um tell them what you learned tell them what's frustrating tell them what was inspiring and if they ask about it show
79. 11:20them how to do it do it and that's the 2023 smart challenge so so the the trick to making money with chat gbt is start
80. 11:27playing with it start using it and then and then the the how you make money part is you figure out a problem that you can
81. 11:33solve that people are willing to pay for start with the problem start with the thing you can solve start
82. 11:38with the thing you're passionate about there's got to be a better way do that thing right so that helps
83. 11:46um let's see prediction phone scammers will use AI to mimic family members voice asking for money that's already
84. 11:52happening it's a disaster and it's going to get worse in the end game get rid of cheche EBT once it's is the end game to get rid of
85. 12:02chat GPT slash AI once it's fully integrated well I don't know that there's an end game because you've got so you've got open AI paired with
86. 12:12Microsoft so Microsoft's end game is roll it into everything they announced yesterday that um that uh chat GPT they're calling it
87. 12:24co-pilot is going to be integrated into Windows itself I'll play a video of it in fact let's let's go do that now Windows Co
88. 12:37to the dash pilot see if we can find [Music] continue reading if they make me uh okay is this it oh this is
89. 12:54this is a longer thing okay here's the here's where they're talking about it okay I into the most valuable product
90. 13:04and being and our co-pilot will be built right into your windows taskbar just like Bing you will be able to ask
91. 13:11co-pilot to summarize anything on the screen rewrite existing text and explain anything you see on the screen it will
92. 13:19also be possible to adjust computer settings using copilot the feature starts rolling out next month next up
93. 13:26Microsoft is adding plug-in support for its Microsoft all right so so that's it there's there's other videos out there
94. 13:32that are that that's sort of more of a comprehensive thing where they're talking about other stuff but they're rolling
95. 13:37um GPT into Windows itself so it's going to be everywhere throughout Microsoft stack but you've also got Google that
96. 13:45wants to incorporate Bard you've got anthropic that's got their own model that I don't think they've found a big partner yet
97. 13:53um we haven't heard anything yet from Apple but Apple's coming you know Apple's coming they've got a big announcement in two weeks at their
98. 14:00worldwide developer conference they have every year and they're going to be announcing their AR VR goggles which I
99. 14:06think are a big yawn although they'll be better than medicine the co-pilot what's happening of all windows
100. 14:14sorry my machine just acted on its own and decided to start talking um but um so so you've got Apple there AWS announced
101. 14:27that developers are going to be able to use a bunch of different models including theirs so you've got all these
102. 14:32major players with their own large language models so I think they all want to compete and they want their model to
103. 14:38be used the most so I think you're going to see lots and lots of models so that's just the commercial side then you've got
104. 14:44the whole open source side so and I forgot Meadow met is another one that that they're they're rolling out a bunch
105. 14:50of their Technologies all of these companies right now have been forced out of the Shadows because of chat GPT um
106. 14:57meta's large language model leaked and now the developer Community has adopted it and there are open source large
107. 15:05language models all over the place out there so I don't the end game kind of implies that there's a single company that's going to
108. 15:13control this and I think in the past three months what what's happened is many horses are out of many Barns and I
109. 15:20so I don't think that there's any single place that's going to kind of try to rest control so I I think it's just
110. 15:26going to be everywhere it's going to be really confusing for the next two years I think there's just going to be
111. 15:32um you know 8 000 products a day you're not going to be able to keep up with it so just sort of you know focus on sort
112. 15:38of the core most simple tools like chat GPT right now if there's a better one I'll start talking about that
113. 15:44um by the way that's the URL for chat GPT if you haven't played with it go play with it um and then and then mid-journey stable
114. 15:52diffusion or Dolly um using bing bing um just just start playing so uh let's see uh Tick Tock Auto Scrolls me to the bottom
115. 16:07sometimes and I lose my I lose my I lose my place it makes me sad this is not um okay is the end game okay I'm back thank you
116. 16:21very cool um I also see Ai and chat GPT as horizontal key API that will be a part of all software yeah I think that's
117. 16:30right in fact there's a really cool I I saw a concept about a week ago where they basically said that the ultimate end game of chat gbt
118. 16:39is to be the everything app which is basically it's an app that you tell it what you want it to do and it will just
119. 16:50go find a plug-in that does that or a series of them or it will write its own code or uh like it will just do what you want it to
120. 16:59do and like we will all have this personal app that does everything so there won't be the App Store there won't
121. 17:04be you won't have to go to websites like like the the transformation is potentially quite profound so I agree I
122. 17:11think the the horizontal thing's really interesting um yeah and I don't even know like I don't even know where you play you know with
123. 17:21do you specialize in particular verticals do you go horizontal I mean in the end these are just tools they just
124. 17:26happen to be tools that are so incredibly [ __ ] powerful that they kind of change everything how does a magician grow
125. 17:35um by eating spinach I think that's what chat GPT would tell us too you can create a lot of things but can you deliver on it um
126. 17:46I don't know are you asking me specifically I've built some [ __ ] I'm 11 years into my company storyvine and I'm completely
127. 17:56re-architecting that with AI so I hope I can [ __ ] build it I'm an artist but since AI image Jen came out I've lost all the motivation to
128. 18:05make art so I totally empathize with you I I actually I feel really bad I feel bad for writers that are feeling like
129. 18:12this I I feel bad particularly for artists because I I do not have a skill um at Art I'm an okay designer not a
130. 18:21great one but I am an atrocious illustrator um and all of a sudden having a tool that just instantly does the work that might
131. 18:31take you a week or a month to do um and having people that don't have a creative bone in their body now going I'm an artist
132. 18:41um has got to be [ __ ] maddening um that said here's here's my my theory on it the people doing the most interesting
133. 18:51work in AI right now that I see that like that are part of the AI salon so I started in AI Salon in December that
134. 18:57that's a community of people that kind of hang out and geek out on AI we've got a Discord server we can chat I've got a
135. 19:03lot of artists in there I've got a lot of copywriters in there um my my co-host of the salon is a 25-year photographer and she you know
136. 19:14she sort of she's gone through a couple of phases but the in the initial phase was like well I went through the shift from film
137. 19:20to digital so this you know this isn't going to be that different so she kind of went in with this with this cool
138. 19:25attitude and then she figured out how to replicate her style and she started doing cool stuff and then replicating her style became trivily
139. 19:35trivially easy and she got really bummed out because she's like now anyone could basically just take any one of my
140. 19:43pictures and replicate the style and it bummed her out and so you know I think she's she's in a discovery process of
141. 19:51you know what are these tools in her creative process what are they in her life so what I would encourage you to do is like absolutely
142. 19:58um mourn what's going on maybe the art stuff becomes something you do for pleasure um I do think that authentic art that
143. 20:07physical art you know authentic in-person music that kind of stuff I think the value of that's going to go up
144. 20:13in this sort of content everywhere world but you're gonna be better at using these tools than non-artists you're
145. 20:21going to be you've got you've got an eye to be able to take some thought in your brain and bring that
146. 20:28into the world and bring it to life and so if you learn these tools I think you're going to be better at them than
147. 20:34non-artists so I would encourage you to um start exploring start getting curious but yeah it sucks man I'm I'm very sorry
148. 20:42it's uh it's a bummer it like it's like bummers too trivial it's it this is profound [ __ ] and and quite honestly I think we're all
149. 20:54going to be facing some sort of uh you know some sort of Crisis like this I am in my business like I'm 11 years into
150. 21:01my business and I'm like holy crap like a lot of what we do right now is gonna look it's just gonna be valueless like it has
151. 21:11value today it's not going to have value in a year and I've got to figure out what in my business has value what
152. 21:15doesn't what's going to go away um so it's rough uh that helps a lot you're welcome uh slightly concerned about using it you don't need
153. 21:26to be concerned about using it if you're really concerned so in chat EPT let me jump over here and show you um
154. 21:34the the the bottom setting here is called Data controls and you can turn off your chat history and um training which basically means
155. 21:44they're not going to use anything that you put in it for training um if you do that and you have a long
156. 21:50chat history it will delete your chat history so make sure that you export your data first so that you get your
157. 21:57chat history to get you know maintain all your prompts um but I wouldn't be too concerned just start using um start using chat GPT
158. 22:10um to learn what it's about don't do critical stuff on it right now just just learn it um walked into a Best Buy the other day
159. 22:17and it's on all the new TVs what is chat EBT or like Bing that's interesting well chatgpt intelligence be integrated into Androids
160. 22:28and will that be available to cook for you um so go to that URL so on Android go to your Chrome browser
161. 22:40go to that URL that's the official chat GPT site and then bookmark it like put the put an icon on your screen that points to that
162. 22:48website so it works like an app um the site's very very simple and it works great on mobile so um so I so yeah and and then I think
163. 22:59um I think Androids will use it as their core intelligence well Android Androids are going to use Bard as their core
164. 23:05intelligence which is the competitor to chat gbt in my opinion it doesn't hold a candle to it yet Bard is better at some
165. 23:12some of the more technical stuff programming and math and things like that um but chat GPT 4 especially is just
166. 23:20it's just a more sophisticated language engine so if you're doing language kind of stuff do that chat gpt4
167. 23:28um you can wait for Bard for the other stuff okay for the first time design Trends will be led by non-artists get ready for the end
168. 23:37of innovative design I one thousand percent disagree I think that for the first time the power of design in the power of
169. 23:50powerful design has been democratized so there will be non-designers that do amazing work and get it out there but
170. 23:58creative professionals are gonna kick ass at using these tools and if you diminish it or dismiss it you're gonna get left
171. 24:09behind and I I hate to say that um I think it is the absolute opposite of of what you're predicting here I think
172. 24:18it is the beginning of the greatest Renaissance we've ever seen I think we are entering a creative age that's going
173. 24:25to make the renaissance renaissance La quaint in fact the last slide I just gave a talk today let's see do I have it up here no of
174. 24:34course not where is it uh mod Sim talk I gave a talk people simulation people on Monday and my last slide is this the
175. 24:50great Renaissance I think we are entering a great Renaissance because so here's my thinking um yeah if you if you're a creative and you use
176. 25:04these tools one of the things you experience quickly is that you have more ideas than you've ever had because these
177. 25:09tools allow you to very very quickly iterate ideas and then the tools if you if you just slightly push in One Direction or the other give
178. 25:18you all sorts of things you wouldn't have thought about and then that pushes you in New Directions and new directions
179. 25:23I think we're going to see an explosion of design in architecture in fashion in graphic design in typography in writing
180. 25:33I think in music I think we're going to see just a massive explosion of creativity so um you may be right that because these
181. 25:41tools are creative all the creatives are just going to go take a nap but here's the deal we're [ __ ] humans we're not
182. 25:48just gonna sit around waiting to do nothing we'll figure it out so anyway do you know anything about chat GPT app
183. 25:56that is offered through apple is it the same as chat.openai Okay so that's the website so if you're on Apple
184. 26:03on a mobile device or an iPad that's the website but open AI launched a an official app what I would do if I were you is don't worry about
185. 26:19um going to the App Store Go to openai.com slash blog app for iOS the second article right here with the the crazy sort of thing
186. 26:33right there is a link to the App Store go to that that's the official link to the App Store to the official chat GPT app um the
187. 26:46good thing about the app is that it's got whisper transcription built into it it is an incredibly good transcriber
188. 26:54like way better than Apple's transcription um it does not have plugins it is not connected to the web so if you're a chat GPT plus user
189. 27:04you can get access to it being connected to the web into plugins but that only happens through the the website itself not through the
190. 27:13app but that's the official app that's how I'd get to it chat GPT must be a dream wait oops hang on must be a dream to designers LOL to be
191. 27:27able to bring your design to life so quickly well Chachi PT doesn't bring designs to life but things like stable
192. 27:33diffusion and mid-journey do chat GPT can help you create creative briefs and copy and all sorts of things that might go in your designs um
193. 27:43I think so too people are still going to want authentic art yeah exactly there will always be a market yep in 1860
194. 27:51something the French the there was a French painter named Paul De La Roche who upon seeing the first photograph a
195. 27:59daguerreotype is famous for saying today painting is dead or from today painting is dead painting didn't die but photography emerged right
196. 28:12so it's a new tool so that's that's what we're in the middle of um hey everybody if you're new here uh this is the AI learning lab we talk
197. 28:19about AI stuff here well I talk about AI stuff you can ask questions I will do my best to answer them and I'll show you
198. 28:26what I can when I can I've got this slick um feel free to subscribe uh I I have four subscribers my goal is 13. so

201. 28:52hair good Lord what the hell is going on with that looks like some sort of surf competition gone wrong all right I already answered that um
202. 29:08can you tell me how to teach adult beginners how to use chat gbt um sure I would say if there's a common theme so
203. 29:22if you're part of a community group for example tell what I do to my hair I made it worse wow that's special I'll leave
204. 29:29it like that just so that people that come in just get here and go the hey what's going on with his hair his toupees falling off um uh
205. 29:42so so one thing that you can do is you you can just start simply like a good way to get people to kind of get the
206. 29:49chat EBT is something different you can you can have you can ask people to like I don't know like give you a topic
207. 29:58and and then you can just do crazy [ __ ] with it so so let's say they give you the topic um um playing cards okay great playing
208. 30:09cards so you say write an M N M rap about play in cards right just something stupid like that and then it'll write a song for you with
209. 30:24verses and choruses and Rhymes and it does it really quick and people just be like uh you know wow um but then you can start riffing on it
210. 30:36you can say um make it a haiku and then it should give us a little you know three line whatever that is 17 syllable Haiku and now I can say
211. 30:50um how about a python program that Shuffles 52 cards
212. 31:09let's see what it does certainly here's a here's a simple Python program that shuffles a DEX deck of 52 cards so so I
213. 31:19I think one of the things you can do initially is is you can just you know interact with people and and let them
214. 31:25experience what it's like to just see what this thing is and and what's possible like um I'm trying to think what else uh like
215. 31:36like you know big Concepts you know explain um explain why the sky is blue um for a seven-year-old
216. 31:53let's see what this comes up with hey there little buddy let me try to explain something to you so if you ever notice that the sky looks
217. 32:00really bright and blue during the day well that's because of something called scattering you see the sunlight contains
218. 32:06all sorts of parts so so you know just show them that it kind of knows everything it can kind of do everything um
219. 32:14and then what I would say is start problem solving with them so have them give you things that they want to do in
220. 32:21their life well I'm trying to get a job okay let's write a resume or I'm trying to um I've got an idea for the Great American
221. 32:30screenplayer Great American novel okay great let's go have it synopsize three different screenwriting books and come
222. 32:36up with a story framework for us and then we'll take that story framework and turn that into an outline and then you
223. 32:43can change the outline and you know start problem solving with them because that's the the the the the big Epiphany
224. 32:50for me with chat gbt is that it's not a Google search with a Google search you're like I want to find this thing
225. 32:56you search for it and it gives you 40 crappy links you know 39 of which were paid for and then you know somewhere
226. 33:03buried in there is a thing right that's Google's business model um but this is not that it's not just
227. 33:08ask it a question and get crap back it's more like you're having this back and forth collaborative conversation with it
228. 33:15and so I would say just start doing that interactively with them and and get them excited about it are you aware of any AI
229. 33:22tools that could read procedure documents and assess how compliant they are yeah so this so these tools are really good at that stuff
230. 33:31um depending how long it is you can just do that in in chat GPT but it's got a 4000 token limit which is basically three thousand words
231. 33:40there is a new model out that anthropic who's a competitor to open AI put out and it's it's actually available to you at
232. 33:50poe.com poe.com oops let me with their paid subscription which I think is 20 bucks a month there's this thing called
233. 33:58Claude instant 100K and what that means is it's got a hundred thousand token context window so big so basically means
234. 34:08this hundred thousand tokens equals 75 000 words you can copy and paste 75 000 words into the chat bot and start interacting with
235. 34:19it ask it to summarize it for you ask it for Salient points ask it for Case Lot sites whatever it might be um
236. 34:28so so yes you can do that if if you've got a series of documents or if they're longer than 75 000 words if they're really long
237. 34:37um then you would probably need to use something like Lang chain um Lang chain is going to require a little bit of geekiness to figure out
238. 34:45but here's the secret you can have chat GPT help you figure out how to install that [ __ ] but basically what you do
239. 34:52there is you kind of Point Lang chain at directories of documents it embeds them basically just makes them GPT friendly
240. 34:58and then it throws them in what's called an embedding database a famous one's called pine cone and so basically a fan
241. 35:06a fancy mathematical version of your documents goes into Pinecone and then you can search across multiple documents so
242. 35:14um so I hope that helps that that will the the hundred thousand K Cloud instant is is pretty remarkable I pasted in a
243. 35:22transcript from one of our AI salons which are two hours long so the transcripts are like 55 56 Pages

265. 39:12thing but um from what I can gather they seem to be doing it quite right so I think I think it's worth checking out there's
266. 39:19just so many tools right now the reason I have that futurepedia.io is it's a um it's a list of all all sorts of tools
267. 39:27there's just thousands of them now so I'm trying to keep things limited but perplexity is one that I definitely want to check out I'm an RN
268. 39:35with a stay-at-home dad any ideas on a side hustle with chat GPT I you know I think there's a lot of them I think I think as an RN
269. 39:43um you should definitely start exploring um exploring how it can help you do what you do in in nursing or counseling or
270. 39:56things like that like it's incredibly capable so it might help you do what do some of the administrative work that you
271. 40:03do faster it might help you come up with ideas for how to interact with patients um you know my my thought on here's the deal
272. 40:17check EBT in and of itself is kind of valueless as a it's just a tool so a side hustle any sort of business
273. 40:27is you find a problem that someone has that you can solve and if you solve it well enough they will pay you for that
274. 40:34right so that's the that's sort of the core of business is start with the problem so I'd say start with what you
275. 40:40know start with what you're passionate about um especially if if it involves words or images or you know sort of any variation
276. 40:48of those like you know I've always wanted to I don't know help people write their life Memoir or whatever it might be
277. 40:56um that's something chat GPT could absolutely help you you know accelerate for people and you could teach them how
278. 41:01to use chat gbt so so maybe just get up to speed on it use it for your work see how it can augment your work and amplify
279. 41:10what you do professionally now and then as you get your head around this thing start teaching people how to use it you know maybe
280. 41:18um do a class for free um and then do one for 50 bucks and then maybe do one for 150 bucks and you know see if you can build a reputation as
281. 41:29someone who um can help people get up to speed because here's the thing the the you know chat EBT went from zero to 100
282. 41:38100 million users in six weeks the World Wide Web when when it was invented way back in the 90s um it took six years to get to 100
283. 41:47million users chat CPT happened in six weeks so this stuff is coming really fast but a lot of people like I the the
284. 41:55speaking gig that I showed the video of there were people in that audience that hadn't heard of catch EBT yet which
285. 42:02blows my mind but like there's people haven't even heard of this [ __ ] they don't know what's coming so I think
286. 42:07there's a big Market out there for people that are going to be trying to get their heads around this so
287. 42:12um do you think they need a vocabulary lesson at all do I think who needs a vocabulary lesson I don't know I don't
288. 42:18know what that's in reference to um I say I I say that about non-artists because of what happened in the 90s when
289. 42:25coders also designed yeah yeah um you know coders getting access to photoshop in the 90s I started uh one of
290. 42:32the first digital agencies in 94 a company called agency.com so we we went through that where we had we had to some
291. 42:39point at some point say uh yeah you coders we know you love Photoshop we know you think you're good at it but
292. 42:46we're gonna go on ahead and make some job responsibilities here where the people that are good with pitches are
293. 42:52going to do the pitches and the people that are good with code are going to do the code um I absolutely think that's coming as
294. 42:59well the difference here is that um with Photoshop you still needed design and and uh and and visual skill with with generative image stuff
295. 43:15it's it's actually interesting there's a guy in the AI salon so I started this AI Salon it's a community of people you
296. 43:21know we sort of geek out with AI this guy named Roger that's part of the group he's been there from the beginning he's a coder
297. 43:27um and he started geeking out on prompt engineering mid-journey and he's generating some of the coolest [ __ ] art in there
298. 43:35um but he came at it from a complete coding mindset and so he's experimenting it in this really procedural way and and
299. 43:44like he'll just he'll just keep like whacking at it like a coder would because he's a coder and then he creates
300. 43:51these amazing images so I think there's a slight difference here um I think you know creative professionals
301. 43:59who have you know creative director types who've already curated lots of work I think they're going to be
302. 44:04brilliant at this [ __ ] just you know being like a conductor um but yeah it's gonna be a mess for a while
303. 44:11um if making the UI and overall design of a site can be done with AI companies won't bite won't hire designers or
304. 44:19they'll hire designers that are good at using AI um Paul rates or if you don't know Paul rates or he he's the founder of the uh
305. 44:27AI marketing Institute or the marketing AI Institute I forget he's which order those two words are in
306. 44:34um but he he has this saying that um AI won't take your job but someone using AI will and so so yeah I think I think
307. 44:44um start learning this [ __ ] um don't just don't just diminish it or poo poo it first thing I did was Haiku
308. 44:52what's going on here I know well it's like because because part of the exploration here is trying to get your
309. 44:58head around what what this thing actually knows and what you find out is it [ __ ] knows everything like it
310. 45:05knows a lot how does it know a lot they trained it on a lot one of the reasons chat EBT is better than bard
311. 45:13is that because because Google invented the core technology the Transformer that sits underneath GPT Google invented that [ __ ]
312. 45:22but what openai did was they realized that the better the data was that you trained these model models on the better
313. 45:28they got so they spent years finding data sets and data sources and they basically trained the GPT models on all
314. 45:36of the internet all the public internet you know Wikipedia blogs websites just everything they could find databases any
315. 45:43anything they could get access to um so it's been trained incredibly deeply and then they followed that up
316. 45:49with training it on all the coding languages right so it knows I don't know 60 or 80 or some god-awful amount of
317. 45:55coding languages so it writes code really well they also found out when they taught it to code the English
318. 46:01language or the language part of it got dramatically better I my supposition there is that maybe because it
319. 46:07understands logic of coding it now kind of applies that to language and just shake up better um so so so doing things like have it
320. 46:16write a Haiku or write it in iambic pentameter like Shakespeare did and it just does or like rhyme these words or
321. 46:23it's just it's just mind-blowing what is happening with my hair it's it's just yeah I don't know what to tell you people
322. 46:33should I have them write prompts yes absolutely so you're asking about the the the the adults yeah so so start to teach them
323. 46:42um prompts so so here's a good resource for you um that that could be a lot of fun too go to is it prompts.chat I think it is
324. 46:51prompt yeah prompts.chat so go here and it's awesome chat GPT prompts and then the the top of this teaches you about
325. 47:03um writing effective prompts there's a free ebook um there's all sorts of stuff but what this thing is is it's a long list of
326. 47:11prompts that you can literally copy and paste and what these prompts do is they they tell chatgpt to act like a certain kind of
327. 47:20um expert for lack of a better term so act as a travel guide act as an Advertiser act as a Storyteller act as a
328. 47:28football commentator act as a stand-up comedian it writes shitty jokes in my opinion but that'll get better act as a
329. 47:34motivational coach right so so what you can explore with them is as you give Chachi P different contexts as you say you know
330. 47:46um I only want you to talk like Yoda it will only talk like Yoda in fact I made a um a bot on poe.com called I am Yoda so
331. 47:58if you go to poe.com I am Yoda it's a Yoda bot that just talks like Yoda I also made one called I am Shakespeare I
332. 48:06made one called what have I done Emily Dickinson I am Steve Jobs I am Maya Angelou I am Mary Shelley I am Virginia
333. 48:14wool or not I am Virginia well just Virginia Woolf I am Poe as an Edgar Allan Poe I am Mark Twain um so
334. 48:22so that so that's a way you can start playing with them but yeah I would definitely have them um start creating
335. 48:28prompts the other thing I would have them do is use chat GPT to critique itself so when it gives an answer
336. 48:36this is a hack that people have started talking about two or three weeks ago it's pretty it's pretty cool you say you
337. 48:43know review this answer you know critique it what do you think of it how would you improve it and then it will
338. 48:49improve its own answer it will critique itself and improve its own answer um so yeah so so I would say just engage
339. 48:56get them you know if if it's a group that has access to computers and laptops have them bring their laptops and and
340. 49:02maybe Show an example or two on screen and then turn people loose if you're at a library put people in pairs and have them pair up and play
341. 49:10um I feel so dumb knowing um not knowing what to ask you or chat gbt you're not dumb at all this so so
342. 49:20thank you for saying that because this is it this is really intimidating stuff it's not hard but when you have a tool that can
343. 49:31essentially do anything it's like where do I start what do I do so here's where you start I think figure out a problem you've got
344. 49:42um you want to better understand your insurance policy well copy and paste little chunks of your insurance policy
345. 49:49into chatgpt and explain this to me like like a like a human being would explain it to me or or you know create a meal
346. 49:58plan or or have it help you write a book or have it help you rewrite a book or have it help you turn what you thought
347. 50:06was a comedy but turned into a drama to turn it back into a comedy there's all sorts of things you can do but start
348. 50:11with the problem first and then see how Chachi BT can help you do that um another way you could do it is just say
349. 50:21um you know go to something like I just said like prompts.chat and and just learn from other people what they're
350. 50:27doing and just copy them just mimic them that's when I first learned learned when I started agency.com in the mid 90s with with um
351. 50:37you know building some of the early websites a lot of what we did was we went and looked at other websites that
352. 50:42we liked we're like oh that's cool and we would go view source and we would look at what they did and we're like oh
353. 50:46that's how they did that and then we would go play with that so there's no shame in in stealing like we just go go
354. 50:53see how people are prompting stuff and what they're doing and if it if it interests you then run down that rabbit
355. 50:58hole so um don't feel dumb at all um it's it is totally overwhelming and intimidating I feel overwhelmed every
356. 51:05day with this stuff because honest to God if I take off so I had the speaking gig on Monday and um so so speaking gig on Monday then they
357. 51:19screwed up the flight and I had to stay overnight so I basically blew Monday and Tuesday so I was kind of away from all this AI
358. 51:26stuff for two days and and what's today today's Wednesday right yeah um and I had a board meeting today and
359. 51:33so so I made one Tick Tock video today but I've been I've been away like I was like uh what happened what did I miss
360. 51:39what did I mean like this stuff is coming so fast that it's very easy to get um overwhelmed raised his hand very bitter
361. 51:48bitter you betcha us gen xers got to stick together um the way you describe the exploration of GPT describes my process to the T I
362. 51:56feel validated awesome that's great yeah dig in think of it more like a conversation than a than a tool how do
363. 52:03you spell Claude connected to Poe and anthropic yeah well there's so here can I let me see if I can zoom this in oops that's too big
364. 52:12um this is their their chat model GPT 4 is gpt4 Claude plus is there is is anthropic's basic model Claude instant
365. 52:22100K is there is there big 75 000 word that with that model at poe.com you can copy and paste in 75 000 words into your
366. 52:33chat window and ask it a question about it so you could literally take this transcript of a novel and tell it to reverse engineer the
367. 52:43outline for you and then to improve the outline and then to rewrite the novel you know based on the new outline
368. 52:52um so that's how you spell Claude and and Claude instant is I think this is just a fast one Cloud plus so think of
369. 52:58it like this clot instant is like chat GPT level quality it's really fast though Cloud plus is like gpt4 and then
370. 53:07Claude instant 100K is like GPT 3.5 but you can put 75 000 words in it I'm a big fan of anthropics which is the the
371. 53:18Claude the clod people I I think they're a bunch of EX open AI people that invented gpt3 and they went off and said
372. 53:25we've we think we can do this better and uh they're doing some really interesting stuff over there so I'd pay attention to them
373. 53:32all right how are you displaying your screen so when you start your live you can you can there's one of the options
374. 53:37is dual cameras and so basically it's got you know a camera pointing at me and a camera pointing forward and I just
375. 53:44have my laptop folded open that's why my keyboards right here so see that's just my hand this is this is
376. 53:51like virtual reality like I fly through the phone and I show up over here huh it's just two cameras that's all
377. 54:01how are we supposed to keep track of them of all the tools you can't so go to futurepedia.io they keep track of all
378. 54:07the tools um what what I do I stop trying to keep track of them um if I have a specific problem to solve
379. 54:15and I don't know what tool to use then I I'll seek something out I primarily use gpt4 um now that it's connected to the internet
380. 54:27um I I'll I'll uh I'll do that um I have been playing with the plugins and then I use mid journey and I use a
381. 54:37little bit of stable diffusion but not so much anymore I pay for mid-journey I pay for chat GPT um and I just try to do my work within
382. 54:45those tools and then I I try to keep aware of all the other stuff happening um but it's it's impossible to keep track of everything
383. 54:53it's really good at planning for hard conversations that's great yeah it is it's it is surprisingly uh um let's not
384. 55:01call it empathetic it doesn't have feelings it is better at empathetic communication than a lot of humans are they just did a test with
385. 55:11um patients that interacted with real doctors and interacted with chat GPT doctors or you know they didn't know that whether they were
386. 55:19talking to Chachi PT or a doctor the patient's overwhelmingly preferred chat GPT said they were more competent it was
387. 55:26more competent and more empathetic um so yeah it's actually very good at hard conversations am I concerned about
388. 55:32AI becoming smarter than humans and taking control of the world I I can tell you right now that chat GPT is
389. 55:39significantly smarter than I am it is way more capable I I think that what chatgpt represents is what I'm calling
390. 55:45knowledge on demand I think Google was information on Demand right you put in a search term it gives you a bunch of [ __ ]
391. 55:52A bunch of information it's then up to you as the human to go sift through that [ __ ] and read it and figure out if any
392. 56:01of that is relevant to stick in your big brain chat apt if I want to know about the military theory of the Mesopotamian War
393. 56:13and right uh a a poem about that I can do that in 30 seconds would I want to I don't know but like so so um
394. 56:25so so I I already think that that gpt4 and with plugins I already think that you know from an individual basis these
395. 56:36tools are way more capable they've got a lot of problems it hallucinates it lies it's not accurate um but holy crap is it capable um
396. 56:48the taking over the world thing is interesting um I think that we will find ways to stop that but part of part of what's happened in the
397. 56:59past three months is that because meta's core language model leaked and the developer Community now has it it's just
398. 57:07out there everywhere there's all these open source models that were based on llama that came from from uh from meta
399. 57:15that that kind of the cats out of the bag where the horses out of the barn um so it's possible that bad actors are
400. 57:22going to do bad [ __ ] with it my My Hope Is that the good actors are gonna they've also got equally if not more
401. 57:29powerful tools than the bad guys um and so hopefully they will counterbalance one another I think it's
402. 57:34a concern I think that's why Sam Altman was in front of Congress last week are there classes you recommend there
403. 57:40are so many I would strongly I would say that it is I don't I don't want to discourage you from taking classes but
404. 57:51no one right now is an expert if anyone is positioning themselves as an expert or an expert prompt writer it that it's all [ __ ] um
405. 58:02November 30th 2022 is when this thing launched it's not that old it's six months old so if you're telling me that
406. 58:09someone you know if they're like I'm a five-year expert in prompt crafting it's possible they were using gpt2 and GPT
407. 58:15three for the past you know three or four years um but there's there's no classes right now that I think have any credibility
408. 58:23because they they were likely written by chat GPT they were likely tossed together over a weekend and I think
409. 58:31you'll learn more just saying I'm gonna go solve a problem with chat GPT like I would say just pick a thorny problem in your life or at work
410. 58:41um figure out your back taxes like have it help you sort through the through through your spreadsheets
411. 58:48um have it help you write a novel have it help you I don't know solve some deep mystery you've been trying to figure out for years
412. 58:57um and and just uh you know I I don't know I'd go watch YouTube videos I think I I don't know I'm just a fan of like
413. 59:04I'm a fan of using it as the learning um just get curious and exploratory you'll learn you'll learn more in doing
414. 59:11a single project here here's maybe a thing to do rather than think about how do I teach myself chat GPT start talking to people about
415. 59:22I'm learning this thing called chat gbt and it seems like it does a lot of cool [ __ ] do you have any projects that
416. 59:28you're trying to you know you need help with or you're trying to solve find someone else who's got a problem and
417. 59:35volunteer to solve it for them for free in exchange for like you know you you want to learn chat GPT so you know what
418. 59:44they have what they have to do is be willing to say yeah go solve my problem and then what you can you can say is
419. 59:49because this is an experiment it may not work so I may come back and say I can't solve this what will likely happen is you will
420. 59:56likely solve it and you'll likely solve it a lot quicker than you thought you would I think doing something like that
421. 1:00:00you'll learn more about prompt crafting and chap GPT and how these models work and what they are um than you will any other way
422. 1:00:09AI won't take your job people using it well yeah that's that's that Paul writer quote it's a great one um I'm more and more

427. 1:00:55chat GPT plus you've got access to plugins so you go to your settings I know it's out of focus still but whatever and then you go to Beta
428. 1:01:02features the second link here and then you enable web browsing and plugins so that's how you enable them
429. 1:01:10and then once you're here you go to chat cpt4 and you go to plugins the the little last thing here and that gives you a little
430. 1:01:19drop down menu and you've got you know plug it these are the plugins I've got installed and there's a plug-in store so I'm going to
431. 1:01:27turn off kayak and I'm going to turn on prompt perfect so what prompt perfect does this is this is talking to the um using language as a
432. 1:01:40programming language so I can type in here um what I want to type in let me do let me I want to think a a bad prompt um um make me a story

434. 1:02:13town all right so very generic I mean it's not super generic but it's generic enough and so I put oh wait oh hang on I gotta
435. 1:02:25re I gotta reload chat EBT sorry about this this is if it doesn't have a new session it screws up so the thing I did wrong there
436. 1:02:34uh was I uh you've got to type for this plug-in you type in perfect is the first word perfect and then I say make a story about a monkey
437. 1:02:46running through town and so I hit hit return because I put perfect hmm oh error communicating with the plug-in service oh this
438. 1:03:00okay so here's a good lesson um all this stuff is very very new and a lot of it is just tossed together so I
439. 1:03:10have a feeling that prompt perfect is down let me try another plugin and see if it's all plug-ins or if
440. 1:03:18prompt perfect is just [ __ ] the bed right now oh yeah in fact looky looky looky looky here to the right of prompt perfect it's like
441. 1:03:27a shield with a line through it uh that must mean it's it's unverified or something like that so yeah all right
442. 1:03:36that didn't work anyway what that what what I was trying to show you there is what prompt perfect does is it takes a
443. 1:03:42crappy prompt and it will rewrite it in a in just you know with more words um so so one of the things that you can
444. 1:03:50do with prompting is you can cut you start to figure out how you can expand it and how you can layer prompts and how
445. 1:03:56you can you know do one prompt to get part of your answer and then take that part of your answer and use another
446. 1:04:03prompt to refine it and and yeah it's it is cognitively very similar to coding but you're using your natural language rather than code
447. 1:04:15um so yeah that's pretty cool um have I seen the super prompt on Discord um I've heard of it I think I saw it
448. 1:04:24somewhere but I don't know what that is let me go let me look it up super prompt Discord

454. 1:05:47um I'd say start watching tick tocks um Rachel Woods is really good uh her her site is called AI exchange or her
455. 1:05:58her company is called AI exchange she's really good um there's some there's some people on YouTube I'd say just go on YouTube and
456. 1:06:07start you know looking up prompting just watch YouTube videos and see if just you know find someone that does something interesting
457. 1:06:12why do I pay for chat GPT so I pay for it because um if you pay for chat EBT it gives you access to gpd4 it also gives you early
458. 1:06:22access to the new stuff that they're building right so um so plugins and web browsing chatgpt connected to the the internet
459. 1:06:32oh super prompt is you're you're essentially an expert at everything that's that's really interesting I I don't know um
460. 1:06:42I find that that chat EBD tends to get better when I narrow its focus rather than expand it but that's kind of interesting

465. 1:07:35I use chat gbt to write emails to my students parents um but need to edit because its writing is too formal so so here's the thing you
466. 1:07:44can do if if you're having it write an email and it's writing is too formal critique it tell it hey that's too formal um
467. 1:07:53rewrite it in a more conversational tone or a thing that you could do is take one of your edited emails
468. 1:08:01and put that in at the top and and say based on this email paste in your email that has the perfect tone that's written
469. 1:08:08exactly as you want it written and then say based on that email format and tone write an email to this parent talking
470. 1:08:17about how little Jimmy's a butthole and needs to get his [ __ ] together in class or whatever your message is and and then
471. 1:08:24based on it's really good at um learning from something that you give it like that um so so if it gives you crappy things don't
472. 1:08:35think of it think of it like this rather than going oh give me a crappy email that sucks I got to do more work
473. 1:08:42um think of it like you've got a really smart intern that's not good at a lot of stuff so have it write an email if it's
474. 1:08:48a crappy email say write a better email fix it this way fix it that way use bigger words use smaller words make it
475. 1:08:54shorter make it longer um and it will it'll and you'll get you'll get better in critiquing it um uh I don't know how you say your name KV
476. 1:09:06roono um Khan Academy uh if you haven't checked out Khan Academy it's it's a it's an educational site for students
477. 1:09:13but they just launched this thing called conmigo which is so Khan Academy was given access to gpt4 back in August so they have been writing
478. 1:09:21prompts for conmigo for seven months they just released it it's like a Socratic teacher that interacts with the
479. 1:09:30content of Khan Academy and if someone gets stuck on a problem it won't just give them the answer even if you say
480. 1:09:36give me the answer it will query you back and forth figure out what part of the problem you don't understand and
481. 1:09:42then teach it to you and give you examples it's quite remarkable the black time the blockchain council

503. 1:12:49if it's biased right if it's got more of this than that then it just may have more of this than that in it so there's an issue there
504. 1:12:57the way open AI trains their models is through what's called human reinforcement learning so um you interact with chat GPT it gives
505. 1:13:06you an answer and then they paid people you know not much money a lot of people not much money 15 or 20 bucks an hour for months
506. 1:13:15to give it feedback nope that's not a good answer that's not a good answer that's a good answer right so every time
507. 1:13:22a human being says that's not a good answer that is a good answer they're introducing bias just like
508. 1:13:28and it's and and bias is not necessarily like a pejorative it's not it's not a it's not necessarily A Bad Thing
509. 1:13:36but it's just based on my world view I'm going to look at an answer and think it's awesome and someone else is going

513. 1:14:08training so you know it's a left-leaning you know you know it's less leading bias it's you know um so there may be some truth to that now
514. 1:14:19how do you combat that well you first of all raise awareness about it so you could start to say okay well let's find

517. 1:14:41Claude and Claude 100K and Claude instant and whatever other models there are Cloud Plus um they've got a model called the
518. 1:14:51Constitutional learning model and so instead of humans saying this is good that's good they've written a Constitution and the
519. 1:14:58Constitution is like you know you know don't cause harm increase Prosperity you know humans over machines whatever
520. 1:15:06whatever I forget what their constitution is you can go see it and when it generates an answer it's actually comparing that answer against
521. 1:15:12the Constitution so it's doing its reinforcement learning against a set of rules that are transparent and just
522. 1:15:19sitting out there for everyone to see um like I said someone may look at the Constitution they wrote and go well I think that's
523. 1:15:28biased I think that I think the rule should be these five rules instead of those five rules and so I think what
524. 1:15:34we'll see in the future is that there will be lots of different models that have different flavors right and you
525. 1:15:40might have one that's super conservative you might have one that's super liberal you might have one that's super academic
