27. 7:21one they don't even you can't even play with it anymore you sort of can if you choose to if you just took
28. 7:31that and it never got any better and it wasn't connected to the internet and you spent the next [Music]
29. 7:42year trying to perfect it and get your head around it you couldn't what it makes possible the things you could learn with it [Music]
30. 8:03but like always with technology it advances and it progresses and it goes and it goes and it goes and it
31. 8:11goes and this AI stuff even though we've kind of plateaued over this summer we we were running up running up
32. 8:18running up all this change all this change in this summer we're kind of plateaued and if you've been in the
33. 8:26conversation for a while you might start getting cynical like wow it's not improving fast enough I haven't been
34. 8:33completely overwhelmed in like 3 [Music] weeks and I would even ask people that come here on a regular
35. 8:48[Music] basis how often do you used the advanced features of chat GPT have you really mastered data advanced data analysis and code
36. 9:01interpreter have you really pushed the envelope of vision GPT Vision the fact that it can see images is anyone really taking that in
37. 9:15[Music]
38. 9:29the fact that it's connected to the internet and can go get real-time data and then can parse that data can
39. 9:37turn that in data into Excel files and Word Documents and PowerPoint documents all within chat GPT so what this channel is about
40. 9:54is recognizing that this is a this is an ongoing conversation and these lives are the conversation for me
41. 10:09anyway cuz you know I got my day job I've been asked to go speak in Washington DC like some sort of [ __ ] big wig
42. 10:29and what I know and I what I think everyone here knows is that I have no qualifications people ask me all the
43. 10:42time sir sir good day to you fantastic I'm here at the AI learning lab it looks like there's a wizard of some type you
44. 10:49don't seem to have a beard but go on and may I inquire sir out of curiosity what are your qualifications to which I reply good
45. 11:04sir good day to you for I have no qualifications there are no [Music] experts there's just the
46. 11:18conversation we're all doing the [ __ ] best we can trying to get our head around this thing trying to imagine what future is
47. 11:27going to be like when these tools get really good [Music] try to unlearn how normal we've made it that
48. 11:41these tools exist does it still like give you Shivers when chat gpg just [ __ ]
49. 11:58writes a link to in post for you why not you just come to expect [Music]

51. 12:32see that's just mean now you're just being cynical and mean and trolly we don't troll in here well we do but you got to be smart
52. 12:42about it yes I'm amazed and delighted every single day that's from Kelly Camp her I believe her I [ __ ]
53. 12:53believe she has kind of adopted this attitude not attitude this approach with AI where she's finding a way to maintain her
54. 13:08wonder and not like act like an expert and when people ask her tell me about AI she's like sure let me show you
55. 13:17some cool tricks she's got parlor tricks she's really good at him she got like a whole little list her brain's like a PowerPoint pre
56. 13:29presentation she's got them all in the right order they build people are like make a picture she's like no we're going to go in
57. 13:40order watch it can write ha cou watch it can write iambic pentameter watch it can write a marketing
58. 13:55plan and she's kind of made it her mission to give people their first Kevin mallister moment which if you haven't
59. 14:04done that yet if you haven't if you've discovered Ai and you haven't learned out loud and shared with someone what you [Music]
60. 14:18know it's it's like [ __ ] it's like a drug where you got someone who's a little snoody they're a little like wow
61. 14:31Three Mile Storage it's crazy how quickly AI has become normal every day has magical AI uh as an integral part of life yeah
62. 14:43yeah I know it's amazing isn't it and it kind of hit me tonight as we were going live it's [Music] like this this lull and Innovation
63. 14:56because we've been on like an endorphin high for you know at least 12 months closer to 18 and the last three months have been a
64. 15:07little bit like it's cool it's cool it's cool stuff yeah Runway gen 3 it's awesome making some good videos kind of
65. 15:13like what we saw with Sora even though it never launched thanks Sam Alman you know maybe you and your little Merry
66. 15:19band of billionaires over there could get something launched once in a while like where's real time voice he's still

69. 15:55Claude and watched it write a computer program and then just run [Music] it or asked another way have you ever
70. 16:09tried to teach yourself how to code and realized oh [ __ ] this is hard and we now live in a
71. 16:24world can Claud connect to an external API it cannot currently it's not connect connected to the internet now that
72. 16:31that's technically sort of half not true you could get Claude to write code to connect to an API like you could give it
73. 16:39um API documentation it could write the code and then you need to run it in a development environment where the code
74. 16:46can actually connect to that API um why anthropic hasn't connected Claud to the internet is one of the great
75. 16:56mysteries of 2024 but whatever ever it'll get there um so so there's that have you played with perplexity Pages
76. 17:08yet where you give it a topic and it [ __ ] like writes a well researched magazine article with pictures and tables and bulleted lists
77. 17:30are you so expert now that you just go to Mid journey and expect it to make brilliant imagery it's like well yeah I put in the
78. 17:43prompt you know it's pretty good start my day each day for an hour of AI I I don't doubt that at all generate image blog Clips Etc The New
79. 17:54Normal that's Jim Ross from Three Mile Storage Jim Jim Ross you're you're like three mile storage that's like data
80. 18:01storage right he's a he's a he's a comp he's a data scientist he went to Stamford I don't know where he went to
81. 18:07school but the storage he's talking about is you know like garage doors and padlocks spends an hour every morning on AI are you

85. 19:08haven't done that today oh yeah you know what I did today so I got this big Washington Trip coming up and I asked people on the on the AI
86. 19:27salon on the AI on community if you go there it's a website talks about who we are and one of the little links there
87. 19:34says join our community doesn't cost [Music] anything and I asked people if they would share with
88. 19:51me how AI has impacted their lives some were short some were long somewhere big and they were all some version of
89. 20:05extraordinary and so I copied and pasted them all out of there and some sent me some in email some sent me some in text
90. 20:13they were they were coming in from all over and I just popped them into chat GPT and I said hey I'm going to talk to
91. 20:25Congress and I want to talk about experiences people have had had so can you pull out the interesting nuggets out
92. 20:33of what you see here that might be interesting in that context out they came I said oh can you put people's
93. 20:41names in front of them boom out it came I said oh can you put like a little category before their name of like you
94. 20:47know what what it is they're talking about like healthc care or you know creative expression or like whatever it is out it came
95. 21:02you know what would have been a 15 20 30 minute exercise in the olden timey days where we actually had to use our brains was about a 5
96. 21:16minute like inspiring pleasure it's the best way I can describe it [Music]

98. 21:51[Music] amazing will AI make our brains get soft though well so Osiris here's been my experience like I on the surface that's
99. 22:09what it absolutely feels like it should do right you have this tool so it used to be people said AI can't do anything
100. 22:17creative and then it's like the more you use it you're like it's absolutely [ __ ] doing things creative it it it
101. 22:22it is synthesizing and assimilating ideas faster more coherent cently and and more consistently than I ever have in my life
102. 22:31right so in theory you're like well so I should be getting less creative cuz it's doing the work for me
103. 22:39right not how the brain works it's not how the brain works because we're [ __ ] crazy right so so what happens
104. 22:49without AI is you have an idea in your head and you're like I should get that idea out of my head let me go get a
105. 22:54notebook and then you're like well none of these notebooks are good enough let me go down to the mall and get myself a
106. 23:00leather bound notebook cuz this is such a good idea and you spend like 45 minutes going down to the mall and
107. 23:05getting the right notebook and you find the right notebook but all they have are like wooden fancy pens and you're like
108. 23:11no I don't I need I need like a good writing pen but like not a cheap one I don't need a bck I need a good pen and
109. 23:17you spend another 45 minutes trying to [ __ ] buy the right pen for the right notebook for your Genius [ __ ]
110. 23:26idea like 4 hours later maybe you scribble down a note or two and as you're writing down the note you're like
111. 23:32oh God if I was going to do this idea I'd have to I'd have to learn engineering and I or you write down the idea you got the
112. 23:43perfect notebook the perfect pen the perfect [ __ ] idea and you're like oh this is so good and you call up your best friend
113. 23:50Bob and you're like Bob tell them what they've won Bob's like we're not playing a game could you stop saying that you're
114. 23:57like Bob I got this idea idea Bob's like shoot and you're like and you read your idea and Bob's like uhhuh and you're crushed you're crushed
115. 24:10inside cuz you know that an Han from Bob that an Han's like that's all you got that's your idea you go you hang up the phone and
116. 24:20you you [ __ ] throw the pen out you take the notebook you throw it in a [ __ ] drawer and the idea
117. 24:35dies the amount of creative activity in that whole little scenario I just said was is about this much all the rest is
118. 24:44all this other activity to get that [ __ ] thing out of your head and then when you interact with that idea in the world the world shits on
119. 24:52it the reason there's not more entrepreneurs and there's not more inventors is that it's really [ __ ] painful when you have something that
120. 25:00you're like your heart is swelling and you tell someone and they [ __ ] on it then you hide and you don't do it again for five
121. 25:08years here's what happens with AI with AI you got that same stupid [ __ ] idea get you little idea all right let me
122. 25:17stick it in chat GPT chat GPT I have an idea that's the most fantastic idea I ever heard here's 16 ways you could bring that to life
123. 25:25W before you know it within five minutes you got this idea fleshed out and alive and you have this entity that's giving you positive
124. 25:33reinforcement and now that that idea is out of your head and it's been given a little bit of fertilizer and a little
125. 25:38bit of water and it's starting to sprout guess what happens that void is filled with more ideas I haven't been this creatively
126. 25:49alive probably in my life but certainly since I was a child you know when you're a child and just every [ __ ] idea that
127. 25:56comes in your head you're like I got an idea yeah you know what they should do they should make big boats that go pick
128. 26:01up all the plastic in the ocean and then people [ __ ] laugh at you and you don't go build the boats to
129. 26:08pick up the plastic in the ocean well there's a [ __ ] young 20-some kid right now that's exactly what he invented two giant boats that grow
130. 26:18really slow in the ocean and pick up tons and tons and tons of plastic out of the great garbage patch how many people had that idea
131. 26:25before they actually did it if takes a really rare person to get ideas out of their head it much more rare person to actually realize those
132. 26:34ideas not with AI it's like it's like it's like your brain just just sort of like opens up like a [ __ ] flower I am more creative Now by
133. 26:50far than any other time in my [Music] life ideas don't die anymore they flourish exact ly Genie in a Bottle by
134. 26:59the way Genie that was a really beautiful thing you wrote me today Genie wrote me just an amazing thing about how AI is helping her

170. 33:58Dolly 3 or ideogram and make a logo with words or whatever and then take that into Runway or one of those things that
171. 34:10you can turn an image into a video you can do it that way um that's not going to give you very much Precision at all
172. 34:17if you want real good Precision you should probably just use software there's all sorts of logo animating
173. 34:22software out there talk about audio and sunno okay um so we can go play with audio andso and when you mean audio do you mean like
174. 34:34voice synthesis so the kind of three major players right now in in that Arena are 11 Labs if you want to do voice
175. 34:44synthesis udio is what I call it but other people say it's udio which just sounds like a broken word to me so I'm sticking a y in front

191. 37:45out to come into this group and go I don't know anything that takes a lot of coones
192. 38:00that's leadership having the guts to say you're just beginning being curious being
193. 38:20adventurous I'll tell you I'll share something with you my very first my real Epiphany with chat it happened maybe 2 weeks after chat gbt
194. 38:31came out I was sitting on the couch my wife was watching TV some of you have heard the story but there's
195. 38:40there's a part of this that I don't I don't talk about that much and I knew that chat GPT could write code and for probably the past I don't
196. 38:51know six seven years people have told me you should learn python cuz I would talk about programming I you should teach you
197. 38:57something python teach yourself python like I nod and go uh-huh I should I'll get a book and then in my head I'm like
198. 39:04I'm not going to ever [ __ ] do that I don't have the attention span to learn code and so I said to chat GPT hey could
199. 39:13you write some python code that does this that or the other out outs spits this python code and I had it wasn't quite a panic attack
200. 39:28but it was a um it was a moment of Silent humiliation you ever have those where you're like I got an idea I'll learn
201. 39:44coding and then you try to learn coding and you're like oh my God it's hard I don't think I can do this you have this moment of like silent
202. 39:51shame and then you're just like a I'm going to work my way through it and and then a lot of times you don't
203. 39:59so I had that moment and what what it was tied to was it wrote this code and I had this like flash of anxiety oh my God I don't know how to
204. 40:12run python code I'm the CEO of a [ __ ] tech company we've got patented technology that I invented I don't know know how to run
205. 40:28python code I don't know how to run it in the olden timey world I would have had to go to Google and and type in how do you run python
206. 40:42code and I had to dig through sites that were like [ __ ] up sales funnels that were trying to sell me python [ __ ]
207. 40:52lessons like all I want to know is how do I [ __ ] run it what do I do how do I how do I know if it works and that [ __ ] is [ __ ]
208. 41:09confronting and then I had this breakthrough moment where like it you remember Animal House the scene where the the the girl
209. 41:19passes out on the bed and the like little devil pops up on his shoulder [ __ ] and then the the other the angel
210. 41:26pops up oh you couldn't do that I had that little voice pop up in my head and it said ask chat GPT you idiot
211. 41:39right and I said I just realized I don't know how to run python code I don't think I would have said that to a human
212. 41:49I either wouldn't have done anything with it I'd let myself get stopped or or I'd have just Googled for an hour and just been frustrated and
213. 41:58[ __ ] pissed off and when I told chat GPT I didn't know how to run python code was like oh that's that's not a problem you just
214. 42:07open up the terminal you run this little command line I was like oh wow that easy and I said well I'm lazy I didn't say that I said that up
215. 42:18here I don't want to run terminal and I don't want to do command line interfaces I know Engineers love the command line I
216. 42:26[ __ ] hate it I like pictures and clicking you can make money Jing I want to push a button so I said is there
217. 42:36anywhere I can run python code in a web browser cuz I have seen that on a video somewhere he said sure here's five
218. 42:45sites and the first one was repet and within 90 minutes within 90 minutes I had written a complete functioning python
219. 43:01application that took inputs from a user sent those inputs in a prompt that I crafted to five separate open AI calls
220. 43:11and generated social media content in 90 minutes I've never written a line of python in my life
221. 43:28like that was the night that was the moment it was probably that that single moment that moment of desperate quiet
222. 43:39humiliation you don't know how to run python code you [ __ ] idiot that in an instant I realized the world has changed but no one knows it
223. 43:55yet crazy right that's what AI does that's what it it's it's a level of accessibility it's a level of support it's a level of access to
224. 44:10knowledge not information knowledge and it it's funny when I when I first started talking about this people would
225. 44:16be like sticking oh it's just information it's not knowledge I'm like have you [ __ ] watched it code it's knowledge watch this watch
226. 44:25this okay now I'm pissed off from those people that were like it's just it's just a probability engine
227. 44:33it's just it's just predicting the next most probable token there's nothing really all that remarkable about it oh really really

237. 47:19but it was still cool while it lasted there's some reason it doesn't work we could we could debug that um I did a fun thing the other day

431. 1:30:46going to keep training them and they're going to keep doing this they're going to keep scraping the internet they just are
